Zoot Hoot
Got the bibim-bap, rice cake, and soft tofu. It was all delicious! It was our first time trying Korean food so we weren’t sure how how things combined etc. The waitress came over and explained what everything was to us and combined some of the foods. She was very sweet. We really enjoyed everything and will be coming back soon.

My experience here was wonderful. The atmosphere is classy and mellow, and when our server brought our food, it was absolutely mesmerizing. The Bibimbap was sizzling in a beautiful stone bowl and the food presentations were artful and clean. All of the dishes were very flavorful, with fresh vegetables and side dishes and nicely seasoned meats. We opted for the green grape soju, which was smooth and nicely sweet. The servers were so kind and very quick to attend to us. I would highly recommend a visit to this gem if you have not yet had the pleasure.

Found this excellent Korean restaurant in a strip mall and decided to walk in on a whim for a quick lunch.
We WERE NOT disappointed at all.

Large shared parking lot. 5 stars for food and authenticity. 2 stars for price and ambience. 3 stars for service; not bad but nothing special. Come here if you want authentic Korean cuisine, and don’t mind paying a bit more than average.

Excellent customer service and excellent good. The employees were nice and very helpful. Filled out waters routinely as well! Food was amazing. You get your typical Korean side dishes. The side dishes are excellent. The food quality is amazing. The kimchi stew Bu-dae Jigae we got was amazing. It says it serves for 2 but it's definitely enough to serve 4! That kimchi stew was amazing! The tofu was soft, sausages were juicy, and the stew had a nice spice to it. The gimbap was great but it fell apart easily so be careful with it but it was still great in taste. Seating was easy and quite spacious as well. The booth was comfy for 2 but it will be tight for a party of 4. Other than that, we had a great food experience, especially for Korean food. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're craving Korean food.

Nestled into a strip mall just north of the Twin Cities, Kings Restaurant serves up some of the tastiest, most authentic Korean food in Minnesota.
The service is friendly and prompt and every dish that we had was full of flavor. The rice cakes in the daukboki had a perfect, chewy consistency and the sauce had just the right amount of spice. The kimchi was crisp and appetizing, and the sauce in the ja-jang-myeon was deep, earthy, and complex. My favorite dish was the gal-bi, a plate of marinated spare ribs that were beautifully seared, richly flavored, and very tender.
In addition to a great selection of food, Kings also has a number of Korean beverages including several varieties of Soju as well as Mak Gul Li, a milky, lightly effervescent rice wine, which is served in a chilled golden drinking bowl.
If you are looking for a fantastic Korean dining experience in the Twin Cities area, look no further than Kings Restaurant. You’ll be glad you made the trip.

The young man who greeted u, sat us and took our drink orders was very professional and polite. He gave us excellent service. I was not impressed with the food, especially considering the prices. Some portions were decent, but lacked flavour. I doubt I will go back there any time soon.

Whenever I order they're always so nice and accommodating. I arrive a little early and they offer me to sit and ask if I'd like tea or water while I wait for my order. Honestly. They're so nice. Their food is also so good!

This is my second visit to King's. The first time having been blown away by the quality and flavor of their kimchi, enough to convince me take home two containers of it ala carte, I had to come back for a second helping. I went with the most common dishes this time, bulgogi, japchae, and ddeokbokki, standards I can judge fairly, having a great deal of experience with all.
The bulgogi was good. Completely traditional. You won't regret this choice. Not too heavy on any one ingredient, nor underwhelming in the slightest. Bold, well marinated, sweet and juicy. The only improvement to be made would be fire searing. Once you've had bulgogi grilled, there's no going back.
Their japchae was better than last time. Previously it was far too heavy on the sesame oil blend while seriously lacking vegetables and meat. It may have been the dregs of the pan. This time it was far more balanced. Still, 3 out of 5 stars based on consistency and comparative quality.
The ddeokbokki was outstanding. The best I've had. Nicely sauced with a generous portion of fishcake and perfectly spicy. This is a dish many if not most fail at, like bad Spaghetti-O's, but King's was able to create a delectable flavor that was fully complimentary unto its nature.
The kimchi was a little different this time. Not quite as good, but still better than standard. $10 a pound is a bit much though.
So why only three stars? Three reasons:
1. I brought my two very respectful sons, a teen and tween. We weren't treated unkindly exactly, but we were ignored often and didn't receive nearly the cordial experience as everyone around us. It was confusing and as a half Korean person, for the first time I actually felt prejudice, as if we were too white or too young and my $105 wasn't as important. I've never been overly sensitive towards these things, but it was a repeated impression I couldn't shake. It made me sad.
2. When I asked for another serving of banchan (side dishes), we had only one, I was informed we would have to pay extra. That was a shock. Never in my 25 years of Korean dining experience have I been charged for additional sides, especially when we have a party. Had we all come in separately, there would have been three servings of bonchon. I opted to pay for the additional plates.
3. The cost. I have been to nearly every Korean restaurant in Minnesota and this is one of the most expensive, though I'm not sure why. The quality is similar, serving portions aren't any greater, and the service is no different. The cuts of meat aren't a higher grade, there is no table grilling service, and their bonchon is fairly limited at five dishes. Frankly the cost is extravagant and not in line with any other ethnic or American fare of the same measure.
That being said, the second visit will be my last.

Their lunch buffet is probably the best deal otherwise most of the dishes are on the pricier end of the spectrum, even standard ones like bulgolgi. Service is a little slow but friendly. I really wish there was a Korean restaurant in the TC that had great food to be worth the markup but there just isn't.
