Highly recommended. The service is no-frills, but the staff was super-friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. Get more pizza than you think you'll eat--if you're like me, you'll still eat it all, it's so good. My son's Chicken Alfredo looked wonderful, with huge chunks of chicken, and lots of them. He had to take some away in a go-box, which is not the norm.

Service is spot on! Everyone working here was and is delightful and pleasant and helpful. They went beyond what most places do, simple to help my curiosity become resolved about a food item. And they have dessert too! They've been in business for 30 years and based on my experience, they'll be around for at least another century or beyond! Not often that I'm satisfied, but they made that happen as well!

We were in town for an event and happened upon this cafe for a late lunch. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food came out hot and in good time. We ordered the sweet potato fries, a Hawaiian pizza and the Works. Everything tasted wonderful and fresh, the cheese was thick and the right amount of gooey, and the crust had the perfect thickness. If we lived in town we’d be regulars! Great find for the day!

This was my first time here but I heard rumors of how good it is beforehand. I got the stromboli and it was huge! The sauce was flavorful, the crust was flavorful and overall it was a great experience. I'll be back to try some fun slices soon!

Keep Calm And Carry

Never really cared for their pizza so I don't come here often. However, after helping a friend shut down his place at the fair, I passed John's pizza off Como. Surprisingly, I had their John's Club sandwich. I say surprising because I am not a sandwich or a burger guy. More problematic was the fact it came in a bun rather than the traditional flat toasted bread I am used to. Let me tell you the sandwich was amazing. It was an explosion of flavor. I will be back to have it again soon.

I am not a huge fan of pizza but I crave John's pizza. My husband and I have been there twice and both times, have been very happy with the food and service. I wish this place was closer to my town so I could go there more often. The owner is a super nice guy and his staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be going back whenever we go into the cities.

I Used to go to this restaurant quite a few years ago and I would always order a calzone and some pasta. I was craving this specific calzone so I wanted to get one from this place because I remember them being amazing so I drove about 25 miles to get there. When I got home I was super disappointed that my calzone was burnt, On top of that when I came to pick up my food I parked next to their entrance door the lady on the phone When I called when I got there to pick up was a little unpleasant. She basically told me sorry you need to drive around the block to get your food because I am on the phone with another customer. I guess I didnt really understand that because I was literally sitting next to one of their entrance doors which doesn’t make sense to me. When I got there and walked up to the door it said on a piece of paper to call the restaurant and go back to the car and wait for your pick up food to be brought out to you. So that’s why I was upset that I had to drive around the block to get it seemed a little ridiculous... Anyways back to the food so the calzone came burnt unfortunate, the lasagna was not good at all it was just a bunch of sauce and noodles which was surprising. The hoagie was excellent and I would definitely recommend it. I would most likely come back just because I know that they had awesome calzones before and they reminded me of the calzones that I would get at this resort in Florida it was the closest thing to it. I’m sure they don’t always make their calzones burnt but it was just a bummer for not going to the restaurant for years and looking forward to this calzone. I would never give a customer a food item that burnt.

TLDR: Awesome restaurant, delicious food, totally worth the price! We had my son's birthday party here yesterday and it was awesome! I had never been here before but my partner gave it high praise so I figured we'd give it a try. From the initial call to book their Garden Room through the end of the party, John's staff was professional, courteous, patient, and kind. No matter how many questions I asked or how many times I had to change the date (thanks Covid), they handled each interaction quickly and clearly. When the day of the party came, we were allowed in early to set up/decorate and the staff conferred with us about when we'd want drinks, food, etc. Our party of 25 people fit comfortably in the Garden Room with enough room to move around. For the party we ordered a garden salad, 1/2 pan of Mac n cheese, 6 pizzas, and 6 2 ltrs of soda. The food was absolutely delicious and many people raved about it! The Mac n cheese was made from scratch and a huge hit! We had several people with food sensitivities (celiac and vegetarians) and were able to accommodate all of their needs plus we were able to get a selection of pizzas to suit a variety of tastes. There was plenty of food for everyone and we're even enjoying the leftovers today (which reheat well)! The prices may seem a little high but are definitely worth it for the quality and deliciousness this fine local restaurant provides. One other point to note: four of our guests are disabled (two in wheelchairs) and were able to easily get around inside and out making this a top-notch business!

Everything is fantastic at John's Pizza, the pizza, the sandwiches, the pasta, the desserts. I am a long time, loyal customer. The staff is always friendly and the service is good. We frequently order take-out at work and the orders are always correct with nothing missing I hate when I order take out and the extra sauces are missing. That's never a problem at John's.

Absolutely phenomenal! We tried John’s pizza for the first time tonight and it was AMAZING! We are pretty picky about our pizza, but they knocked it out of the park. The team members were friendly and prompt. Our order was ready on time, and it was hot and fresh. We got the Hog in a Bog and the Chick-a-Dilly, tried the hand tossed and pan crust. The pizzas were loaded with fresh toppings, flavor, and delicious melty cheese, and the crust was perfection. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!!

John's is the best pizza joint around! Their crust is really stand out great, fluffy with the right amount of chewy - I definitely think they make their dough in house and proof it overnight. They always give generous amounts of toppings and cheese, and their serving sizes in general are huge for everything. Their delivery is super fast, our orders arrive in about 15 min. Easy online ordering and contact-free options. I've tried their pizza (pan & hand tossed), calzones, pasta, and sandwiches. They're all great and something I'd order again. Never disappointed with John's.

We put in an order for 15 a week ahead of time. They were so helpful and personable. Paul even noticed something that had been inputted correctly and called me to double check. The entire process was smooth, and the food was great. We had 3 pizzas; 'Da Works', 'California Dreamer', and 'Hawaiian', as well as a family sized Mandarin Walnut salad. All of it was a hit. Well done. A gem in our neighborhood. We appreciate you and will be back!

The host was very helpful and kind during my pickup, and my food (the Chickadilly hoagie) was awesome. It was still hot after I got home, the dill sauce was out of this world, and there was no shortage of pull-y mozzarella cheese. Really great for a Friday night indulgence. Great pizza, super fresh quality ingredients, really like the hog in a bog. It's a little more expensive than a chain but it's definitely worth it, especially for their lunch by the slice. (Only thing that would make it better is if the by the slice pizza was a little hotter.)

Menu didn't list gluten free crust available, but they do have it I found out later. The family loved the pizza, they have creative combinations right on the mark. It was a wonderful reunion to have their pizza again. It's been about 18 years since I had it last, I knew the place at closed or moved... but didn't realize it only crossed the street. we will be back!

Great locally owned pizza shop, with amazing twists on classics, as well as, some imaginative/delicious creations of their own. Customer service has much improved in the last few years. The price tends to add up quick when you do add ons/customizing orders, so I'd recommend sticking to their templates offered.

This is the best pizza in town. I used to think Parkway Pizza was my fav, but JPC has taken the throne. It's the mozzarella they put on their pizza. It's not cut with anything. It's just straight melty, stringy cheese that's so freakin delicious, with that saltiness a proper cheese should have. But it's also the sauce. It's not too acidic like Pizza Luce and not too sweet like Papa John's. Perfectly in the middle and compliments the cheese in the best way. Don't over-think the toppings. Straight pepperoni or sausage will take you far and blends with the base pizza wonderfully. My wife is a vegetarian and gets hers with mushroom and onion, which is just as delicious! All of this comes together on a wonderful, foldable crust that's not too tough and not crazily seasoned like they do at Domino's, JPC doesn't need to do that. It's perfect as is. Treat yourself to a slice. You won't regret it.

John’s Pizza is amazing! Their pizza is delicious and you can tell they use the best ingredients! At lunch hour (from 12-2 I think) everyday they have pizza by the slice for around $3.50 per slice and these slices are huge and well made. All the other food is delicious as well! The staff is awesome, the decour is very surprising and comfortable, and there are always firefighters and groups of employees there, so you know it’s a great food spot! Definitely try this place out if you haven’t! It’s off-the-chain amazing!!!

My family orders pizzas from here regularly. The pizza is always good. We ordered pizza with friends from out of town, and they were very impressed with the quality of the food. We had an order mix up one time, and the manager contacted us directly and rectified the situation with very little hassle for us. Also the bread sticks are not your standard breadstick, but they are a delightful twist to go with the rest of your meal (also the bread sticks can be shared with like 6 people).

The unassuming building doesn't scream delicious pizza, but that's what they have. There are a bunch of unique different flavors, I regret not being able to try multiple flavors. We got the hog in the bog, which is a garlic sauce, brats, mushrooms, and wild rice. Sounds weird but it's delicious. Pretty relaxed place, you order at the counter, seat yourself, and they bring out your food surprisingly quickly. There's much more than pizza, but I'd rather stick with the food the place is named for.It's a bit on the spendy side but we'll be back.

I love John's Pizza! We order from them pretty frequently and it's so nice to have a LOCAL pizza place nearby that delivers. I've always received excellent customer service and hot food when delivered. Eating in the restaurant is also nice and they have a great patio. I err on the boring side when it comes to pizza but I would HIGHLY recommend the BBQ Chicken Pizza (so good it makes me want to cry), Hog in the Bog (so weird but so good), and the California Dreamer (so.many.artichokes), and their FRENCH FRIES WITH GARLIC RANCH OH MY GOD GET THEM. Yes, their pizza is more expensive than a pizza chain but it's so worth it to support a local business with awesome food!

We ordered our meal to be delivered to the hospital. We essentially ordered a medium all meat pizza. It had five meats and garlic. The garlic was quite overwhelming. I was still tasting it the next day even after brushing my teeth. The cost is what gets me as I have never had to spend almost thirty bucks for a medium pizza. The pizza was great but I will not be eating their food again due to the very high cost.

I love Johns. The food is great, and it's close, but since they changed their menu I feel like they've taken away so many things that I loved. No more burgers after a certain point? I realize that it's called Johns PIZZA Cafe, but seriously they made some great burgers, so why take them off the menu when it's most important? Makes no sense to me. I love this neighborhood restaurant. It's a fun informal joint. You order at the register, they bring it right out to you. You grab your own soda, napkins, and silverware. It's clean, cozy... and they have beer on tap. All of their food is on point. Their entire menu is also available for delivery (hamburgers must be called in by telephone only)

Great pizza to order every once and awhile. Always enjoy the original thin crust pizza with tomato sauce, pineapple, Canadian bacon and extra cheese. Order at the counter and they give you a number and ask you to find a table. Self serve beverages and ample seating. Pizza arrives hot and we dig in and enjoy.

The pizza is decent, we've ordered it many times, but one of the employees there that takes phone orders and deals with "customer service" (we are hypothesizing that it's John's wife because nobody else could stay employed after being so rude), is horrible. She ruined the entire experience of ordering pizza from here, we are going to be taking our business elsewhere.

I'm always happy with John's Pizza. Just had the Hog in the Bog tonight and it was delivered in about 35 minutes. My gourmet pizza of choice ever since moving to the Como area. I think it's pretty similar to Pizza Luce. Crispy/chewy hand tossed style crust with great tasting ingredients and never dripping with grease. Oh, if you want cheesy meaty goodness then go for the calzones. Don't tell your doctor though!

Moved to St. Paul in September. The night we moved in, we were hungry but didn't have the kitchen set up yet, so we decided to order delivery from John's. Hands down the best cheese pizza I've ever eaten. I've gotten delivery a few times since (I've got one on the way as I'm typing this) so can't say a whole lot about what the dine-in experience is like, but I can tell you that the pizza is consistently great. I thought cheese pizza was boring before. I thought it was just toppingless pizza. John's Pizza Cafe proved me wrong.

I have never, EVER had such a good experience at a pizza place before! Food is soo good! Large portions, great prices, the service was very friendly. They have their dough mixing machine painted with flames like a hot rod car! What else could you possibly ask for!? Even met the owner John, who was working in the back and checking on customers. Very nice and knowledgeable man to say the least:) To put it lightly, there never has been a man selling pizza with such passion and care for quality that I have ever met before in my life!(Spoke to him for a while, while I was stuffing my face with a stromboli:) ) Come to John's and see what I'm talking about, don't just take my word for it!

I can't comment on this phone lady quite yet, as my only experiences have been from online ordering for delivery, but the drivers are always prompt and friendly. The food is really good and prices are great considering both quality and quantity! Their breadsticks!!! :) You get a box full at an unbeatable price and they are delicious! The calzones are huge. Probably one big serving if you're a big meal eater, but just right for me to share with my young son and filling too as a main entree for us with a side or two. Oh, and although mistakes are allowed now and then, they remarkably have never messed up a thing. Never missed a sauce cup or anything. :)

Was not impressed with the desert dryness of my Philly cheese steak, maybe it would of been a bit more greasy I would of loved it. Phillies are usually a 18 napkin meal I used 2 and that was for my fries. On the other hand the Ranch dressing? Amazingly developed. I should just end on that note. I also purchased 2 lemon bars but have yet to try them I'm a huge lemon bar fan and hope they don't disappoint. I avoided one due to the bottom being burnt. Wish me luck. Lovely staff and atmosphere in a good neighborhood. I'll have to come back to try something else

I met John while changing out his water meter in his home. He invited me to try his place out after finding out I'm from Texas. I took my girlfriend out a with me and we had a great meal. In fact she fell in love with johns salads and we both think Johns beat out Pizza Luce for best pizza. Now Johns is our little secret and we have their food when we can. Great staff, and the atmosphere is very nice.

So, at first glance it may not seem like anything special, but don't let that fool you. The pizza here is top notch. They have a pizza with wild rice on it... DO NOT SLEEP ON IT - It is amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. Parking may be tricky, but that is about the only drawback.

We've been a fan, but they screwed up our take-out order tonight. Okay, everyone makes mistakes. When we called to point it out, the person on the phone said basically "no, YOU screwed it up". We order the same thing all the time, and they told us we'd made a mistake. My wife told them "no, this is what we ordered" and they said "no, you're wrong". Awesome customer service there, John's. Have them repeat the order back to you. And check before you take it home. They're hiring some morons these days.

Their food is delicious, my husband and I ordered an extra large Bandito pizza, it was a little bit hot, but you can ask them to hold the heat... I like the food, but it's not consistent. I have ordered the mac and cheese twice with jalapeños. The first time I loved it. The second time the jalapeños looked different, raw. I took a bite of a noodle which a jalapeño was resting on, not even the actual pepper, and I was choking it was so spicy. Dangerously spicy! And I love spicy food, have had raw and pickled jalapeños before. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat much of the dish since the jalapeños had been in contact with the majority of the food.

I was excited to pop in to this place however I was never asked about what crust I wanted and I thought they only had thin crust, since I was not asked what crust I wanted I never asked or said. They made hand tossed. I tried to catch them when I realized they had 3 options but they said it was in the oven already and would have to charge me another one to remake it. 25.00 plus a 5.00 tip . Then I ordered a Stromboli too. Separate ticket. 13.xx The lady wasn’t very kind when walking in. The curly haired boyman was nice and courteous but did forget to ask thin, hand or pan crust. ;( The lady tried to be more personable and nice when handing me my not thin crust pizza. It’s like lady you already know this is my pizza stop asking if it’s mine over and over no one else is waiting you are about to close. The kids love the pizza and the Stromboli was delish. Positives about the food. The service wasn’t that bad either just that chick needs some welcoming manners ;) Bahah good luck! Definitely worth a try. The hand tossed isn’t that fat. So I’m excited about how thin the thin might be.
