Reviews of Hola Arepa

Amazing, high-quality food at great prices. Nice patio, covered, perfect for sunny days. Brunch menu has some unique items, including drinks. Service was solid, maybe a little slow (but consistent with brunch).

So delicious! Came here for the first time and I’m so glad I did! The place is an overall vibe. It’s super colorful and vibrant. Music selection was great too! I ordered the Yuca fries and street corn. Both were extremely delicious. I would definitely return!

Great place, we are out on the patio which was very nice. The food was delicious and our drinks were tasty. We also appreciated they were clear and open about their tipping policy. All together a great place, would return!

Really unassuming restaurant that punches well above its weight class. Absolutely delicious food.
We had 6 dishes in our party and all were fantastic. The arepas are to die for and are surprisingly filling. Great drinks and atmosphere and extremely affordable. Would highly recommend!

Came out to Hola Arepa for brunch with some friends. Super cute decor and such a fun ambiance. The servers were friendly and attentive and really helpful in answering questions and helping us decide what to order. Food was solid with a decent portion size. I love that the restaurant is gluten free, meaning the food is filling but also light on your stomach.

Places like this are the reason we live in Minneapolis. Everything about it was fantastic.
The vibe. Tons of outdoor seating. An outdoor bar. Great music. And I'm glad we went inside to use the restrooms (which were also amazing) - inside is incredible. Unlike any other restaurant I've been to.
The food. Everything about it exceeded expectations. Starting with the design of the menu. And literally everything looked good. We got the chips and three salsas + guac. Chips were great, guac was great, all three salsas were great, we especially liked #1, the Hola. We got two arepas, slow-roasted pork and shredded beef & sweet plantain. I'd get either one again they were 🔥 BUT, I saved the best for last. Please, whatever you do, don't leave without trying the yuca fries. They're better than regular (potato) fries. They were hot and crispy, and paired perfectly with both the aioli verde and chimichurri. By the way, the chimichurri goes well with everything - try it on your arepa!
Lastly, the service. While I admit our server could've smiled once or twice, the service was prompt and overall friendly. Huge bonus for them clarifying they're a non-tipping establishment (see photo). There wasn't even a tip line on the bill.
Our total for an appetizer, two entrees, and tip came out to be about $55. It was worth every penny. We can't wait to go back!

A tropical paradise that had good, not great, food. The place had cozy decor and almost made me forget you the mid-west winter. Our server was attentive and respectful of our space and knew when to stop by the table. Always topped off our waters and knew the menu. Despite that, the food missed on some elements that I was looking for. The Dos drink was a pineapple and cucumber refresher that reminded me of pickle juice. I wished that instead of cucumbers, it was fruits like strawberries. The chimichuri chicken was solid. Tasted like boiled chicken and the chimichurri was fresh, slight spice and tasted like cilantro. I’m not a cultural food expert by any means, but I wished the chicken was sautéed to give it more taste and texture. A little more spice and salt would’ve bumped the entree in the rankings. The pulled pork was Smokey and had a rich and fatty flavor. Probably some paprika and cumin in the rub that enhanced its flavor. The only thing I would add would be the tart/pickle element. A few slices of pickles would go a long way to hep cut through the richness of sandwich. Lastly, for dessert, we ordered the ice cream sandwich and it was probably the highlight of our meal. The dessert consisted of two gigantic oatmeally (I know this is not a word) with chocolate chips, cookies chest bumping poor vanilla ice cream. It was crunchy, nutty, oatmeally 😏, with a creamy vanilla ice cream texture. It was however, too sweet. After we finished, we had too sweet taste at the back of the throat. Maybe some raspberries to bring tartness and/or mint would’ve cut down the sweetness. To me, Hola Arepa is a spot with a good eats that is good, could be great.

Hola Arepa is our family’s go-to brunch spot. Their menu is full of bright and vibrant dishes that taste as good as they look. I highly recommend getting the Chilaquiles and the Yuca fries, both are super tasty! The cocktails are just as delicious as the food. Lots of fresh, tropical ingredients in creative “glassware”, served strong! Don’t forget to try their rotating slushie cocktail! The restaurant has a cool vibe, and is run like a well oiled machine. It’s nice going with kids because the food flys out of the kitchen. And if you’re someone who cares about portion size it’s hard to leave hungry. I cannot recommend this place enough! It is a tip free restaurant and instead they add a 20% service charge, It would be nice if they added a tip line for guests that want to leave more money to their server.

Vivid, tropical, colorful... we got seated and it probably took them 15 mins total to get our food at the table. It was fresh, crisp, and flavorful! Super awesome experience, would definitely go again to try some other arepas on their menu. P.S, the yuca fries and aioli are bomb, had some before I took the pic 🤑
lindsey schouviller
Would definitely go back! I ordered the Chimichurri chicken arepa and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten. The yucca fries were great as well with the best aoli.

This is one of our family favorites. The arepitas are so damn delicious, never imagined goat cheese can taste so good, their special sauce is delicious and ofcourse then they have variety of Arepas and we have tried everything on the menu, and everything tastes good. The cocktail options are quite diverse too, limited though.

Hola Arepa is one of my favorite Twin Cities establishments- just look at the incredibly colorful and well-rounded bowl I ordered tonight! The flavors and textures always exceed my expectations, and the energy in the dining area is electric. There’s always a buzz in the air when I eat here. Highly recommend.

Arepa is authentic Colombia and Venezuela food that hard to find in This area. The restaurant is cute with unique decorations.
Carrie Lange
I was so excited once I got here. I instantly knew I'd be back. Their menu is clearly labeled and their horchata was incredible. I thought the cocktail was too boozy for my taste, but everything else was spot on!
Derek Nelson
The food was good. I will say I personally was not a big fan of the yucca fries. They were fine but I thought they were just too dense. I like fluffy and light fries. The Arepas were solid not raveworthy IMO. I had the beef and plantain. We also ordered dessert, the s'mores cake, which I honestly think was my favorite part of the meal. We sat in the covered patio when it was about 30 degrees outside. It was comfortable with a sweatshirt on. It is fully enclosed just not insulated.
Chad D
The chips and salsa were incredibly good. The chips were fresh and the variety on the salsa was great. The queso was smooth with just the right amount spice. We also had the chimichurri chicken and chorizo. The sauce for the chimichurri was tart with garlic and cilantro. The chorizo had amazing flavor.
Sahar Confeld
This place is fantastic. The vibe is so summery with all the beautiful plants. The drinks, chips and patio made it feel like a staycation. The brisket arepa was full of flavor. Loved the yuca fries and the dips provided. I had the iced tea of the day strawberry rhubarb- it was really refreshing! To top it all off, the service is great. Can’t wait to visit again 😊

The place looks cute and was bustling with people. We ordered the chips and salsa with arepas. The waitress forgot about the chips until we reminded her when we were half way through our main course! The chips were very thin and oily. The salsa options that came with it were all just chili. We ordered the hola hot chicken arepas and both the arepas that came were dripping with oil. The chicken was dry as a bone and stringy as hell. The arepa went soggy within minutes too and the whole dish was a mess. The yucca fries were the only redeeming quality on the plate

Edit: we have since visited 2 more times and continue to love the food here.
Adding a few more pictures ! Highly recommend the jackfruit arepa, and also the sweet potato arepa! And the chimichurri is the best I have ever had anywhere !
Pretty much any blog post about brunch in Minneapolis recommends trying out Hola
Arepa. And rightly so, because this is an awesome place with a great vibe, delicious food and super-friendly staff. We ordered the vegan arroz verde and the vegan ( black bean) arepa. The outdoor patio is dog friendly and they even gave our puppy a treat ! Definitely encourage you to try if you haven’t been there.

Hola Arepa is a beautiful spot. We sat outside in a perfect fall day. The chairs have great designs sown on them. This South American cuisine spot is *chef's kiss* wonderful. The food was excellent. It was our first time and it certainly won't be our last. I had the Arroz Verde and a side of Churros for dessert. The presentation of the main dish was phenomenal as you can see from the picture and the dessert was great too. How did the food taste, you might wonder? All I can say is that it was exquisite, I loved every bite and my friend loved his as well. Highly recommend this spot to everyone. Try it and you'll love it.
Miguel Ramos
Great service and like the food! I would said that Arepas are a Fusion between Venezuelan and Mexican food but they really crushed. Tres beverague
Carmela Ver
Delicious arepas and chilaquiles, but not the best we've had. My only complaint is that the arepas are so overstuffed they are difficult to eat, otherwise our orders were really good. I would be happy to eat here again
Andrew Kelleher
Best arepas I’ve ever had. Crispy, lots of flavors and textures, and definitely not something you could make at home without a ton of effort. They were super helpful on the phone about my partners food intolerance and served the beans on the side.
I have no idea how they kept the yucca fries crunchy all the way over here from the restaurant (this was a delivery order).
Paige Latham Didora
This is a solid restaurant with deceptively complex flavors as compared to the simple ingredients. The menu changes regularly but has a consistent thread. I have never not enjoyed a visit or a food item. Very good service, the bar service is a little clunky possibly due to COVID, but overall the service is efficient.
Ryan P
This place is fun and has a interesting atmosphere. It's usually lively and has a tiki like decor. Food is good but not the highlight for me. There are a number of lake street establishments with much better and more authentic Latin American food.
ashley zhou
this place was really nice! i recommend the yucca fries :)
Danielle Lovato
The food was super flavorful and delicious.
Kids options are very limited (arepa with 4 filling options), but that's okay. Not every space needs to cater to children.
Service felt a little more European style which I appreciated. I am not a fan of being checked in on every few minutes. Perhaps because it's a "no-tipping" establishment, it's a little more laid back.
Parking was full when we got there, so we parked on the street about a half of a block away.
Bob H
So the menu was a surprise but damn, it was all so good!! We ordered a bit of a mix of the Arepas and the pork and the beef one were amazing. The Cuban was awesome but there’s horseradish on it so beware if that’s an issue for you. The beef and sweet potato was just freaking awesome. Their chimichuri is also so good I could drink it. I’ll definitely be back.
Thomas Gregg
Date night with my boyfriend. Our server was Paul and he was awesome. Recommended some AMAZING ginger mocktails, yum! Staff was all super friendly, we sat at the bar near the server's kiosk and had friendly banter as different servers came to put in order. Grant and Miles were very friendly.
My boyfriend loves this place, LIKE loves it. It was my first time. We got the chips and salsa with the medium, hotter and hottest. Now, I thought he was going to drink the hottest salsa...he just went on and on and on...I, on the other hand do not like hot, so I just had chips. My taco salad was ok, served on a bed of tortilla chips, felt more like nachos.
If you like it spicy hot, then you will love this place. If your significant other loves hot, but you don't...
Just take em. They'll love the food and atmosphere; you'll love that they're happy.
Albin Jose
Amazing atmosphere, great food, great drinks, fantastic service. Last visit was September 22, really enjoyed it, would recommend.
Alicia Clark
Wonderful, flavorful food and fun cocktails make this a great dinner destination, and with a menu that is almost completely gluten free this place opens up options for bringing non-gluten-tolerating friends! We enjoyed the arepitas as an appetizer and the shredded beef and plantain and slow roasted pork arepas for dinner, followed by the smores cake. We thoroughly enjoyed them all!
chris kramer
This was the first time here and it wont be our last time.
For starters the decor was tropic and inviting. I ordered the Cuban and my gf ordered the Hola hot chicken sandwich. We had also had a margarita, some watermelon punch, along with chips and salsa.
The salsa was delicious along with my flavorful Cuban . The pork in the Cuban was amazing! The chicken sandwich would of been perfect if it didn't have dark meat in it. What that did was messed with the texture of the sandwich.
I was hesitate to come here because they also add on 20% to your bill for gratuity. Didn't matter because I would of easily tipped that. The service was absolutely perfect.
All in all it was a great experience and look forward to trying something else from there.
Christian Vasquez-Leon
Good but pricey. $16 for an arepa and $6 for a small 8oz horchata? Worth trying out once or twice but still prefer the $6 arepas at Maria’s Cafe
Rain Code (Varim64)
Fantastic food in a great atmosphere, absolutely worth checking out. The service was super fast and the prices are super reasonable for how much food you get.
Desiree Dantona
I can't say enough about the warm atmosphere of Hola Arepa! It's a lush, green refuge from the cold in the midst of an eternal MN winter and also a celebration of sunshine in the heat of the MN summer. The food is incredible and the staff is so friendly. Highly recommend! If it's cold, make a reservation, the inside is cozy and small - it fills up fast!

I was here last night for the very first time. The food was very delicious and the presentation of it was just on point. I loved the seating options too, dinning room, covered patio, or outside. Best part, there is parking.
Dan Plummer
I've been here twice. The first time I got the Chilaquiles and it may have been the best breakfast I've ever had. I recommend that you get it.
The second time, I got the Yuca Hash, and the potatoes in it were so overcooked they were inedible. The rest of the dish was so sweet -- which wasn't at all what I was expecting. I cannot recommend this dish.
It's a fine place to eat during the warmer months. They have a dining area that isn't inside the restaurant, but it's within an enclosure, so it's not quite outside either. During the winter months it can get very cold in there, to the point where I don't understand why they would even seat people in it -- but they did anyways.
The tip is included in your bill, and I'll be honest, I have very mixed feelings about that. On one hand, I am happy to know that the employees at this restaurant are making a living wage. On the other hand, they don't exactly make this clear to you, so instead of having the mandatory tip cooked into the menu cost of your meal, you're just hit with a surprise 20% upcharge on your bill. Ideally, a restaurant should just have the actual price of your meal listed and just pay the employees more. Having a mandatory gratuity means that what your servers are getting paid is entirely dependent upon what the customers order, which can mean that at the end of the day, two people doing the exact same work end up making vastly different wages. It's a lazy and underhanded solution.

The food was excellent. I had the pork arepo but I also tried my daughter's beef arepo. My margarita was delicious and potent. Tasted my daughter's drink which was called Dos. Different and refreshing. The mini chiro with chocolate sauce was sweet, cinammony and delicious. Noisy, but service was excellent. Food arrived very quickly. There is a 20% service charge in lieu of tipping.
Dillon Sailer
Great variety of drinks. Food is centralized around arepas, so perfect place if that is what you are in the mood for
Aaron Rickard
Good food, and unique flavors. The arepas are about as large as a cheese burger. My favorite app is the Silver Dollar Cachapas. If you are gluten free you are in luck since almost everything on the menu is gluten free. Plenty of parking in their lot, but there's also usually plenty of close spots on the road at well.
Mai Yang
Delicious and fast!! Brought it home afterwards and was yummy with Sriracha.

I was in town for a quick visit and only had time to choose one restaurant to go to. The first one that popped into my mind was Hola Arepa. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. Our waitress went out of her way to describe the menu/drink offerings to my friend who had never been to Hola. This is one of those places that I would recommend to friends and family because of how quickly the food comes out and how delicious it is. The BEST part about it is, as someone who is gluten and dairy free, it’s easy to find things to eat on the menu, and to not be so worried about cross contamination. I haven’t once felt sick after eating here, which says a lot about how great their kitchen is. Highly recommend the chicken chimichurri arepa with yuca fries and the coconut horchata

Hola Arepa is an experience. The food and ambience is great. Less than 10 cars can park in their parking lot. Prepare for street parking. Reserve your spot if you are going in a group over 4. The patio is closed and heated during winter. So go ahead and reserve the patio.
Brett Herbers
I've never had a bad experience at Hola Arepa! Their food is delicious, and I've always enjoyed my time on their patio during the warmer months. Most of the food is gluten free, which is nice when I'm looking for GF places to go with friends.
Bill Pitcher
This was an excellent Venezian experience. The hot sauces were well balanced and authentic. The prickliest pear cocktail was amazingly flavorful and well worth the trip. The plantain appetizer was just a touch sweeter than I expected, but was quite good. Finally the Arroz Verde was the perfect quantity of food and the rice is something I look forward to replicating next time I make tacos.
Brad Van
Great food, fast service, 6 car parking lot. We went on a weekend and waited around 30 minutes for a table. Food was great I definitely recommend the chorizo and sweet potato or fried chicken arepa. Gluten free for the celiac people with us. Definitely coming back to try more.
Susan Matheson
My family celebrated a birthday here and it was perfect for the occasion. The arepas are pretty big and the yuca fries are yummy, so come hungry. We finished off dinner with the s'mores cake and horchata pot de creme for dessert. Both were delicious.
Krystal Gavilan
The tostones are delicious! I would definitely get them again, the rest of the food was okay, it felt very overwhelming with the amount of stuff it had. Service was very nice and the restaurant was very cute overall.
angelina dreem
Sooo yummy! I love arepas and the jackfruit arepa was fantastic. Enjoyed a quick passionfruit mezcal margarita while I waited which I haven’t found outside of Mexico. Good vibes and its cool that they take care of their staff with a 20% gratuity included. Fast, fresh, and yummy sauces. Highly recommend.

Holy cannoli Hola Arepa is not a run-of-the-mill arepa place. It is very much an elevated experience in food and fusions. Their mocktail and brunch menu was so impressive with flavor and presentation that I must try them at least 5 more times this week to get the full experience of the genius behind this place. Very gluten free and celiac safe. Three people at the counter bar dining separately were celiacs.
Chuck Pittman
Took advantage of the recent nice weather and had brunch on their patio. Was told by the greeter that they were implementing some new safety protocols that included wearing a mask anytime you were away from your table, wearing a mask when a staff member was approaching your table and using a flip card to let your server know when you needed service at your table. Pretty easy stuff and made me feel safe about eating onsite. Tables were spread put and cleaned between customers which I appreciate. Food was amazing as always, I got the Fried Chicken and Cachapas, and I loved the cocktail I got. If you're looking for a safe and delightful place to grab a meal stop by Hola. If you still don't want to eat there you can get your order to go, even grab one of their cocktail kits to enjoy at home. Thanks to the entire Hola Arepa staff for a great meal and safe service!
Austin Unseld
Give yourself time for parking, seating is cozy.
Food and service was good
Stacy Welle
I love the cozy environment and the good. I also appreciate that the menu is fairly simple and not overwhelming. We all enjoyed our dishes and drinks. The rice bowl was a lot of good, so be prepared. The chips are perfect, not greasy or too salty. It was fun to try all of the salsas and they were super good. It's a bit tight on space, so you may be sitting very close to the next table and people, but I didn't mind that at all. You may need your phone flashlight to read the menu because it's really dim lighting. Again, I didn't mind it at all...it all adds to the ambiance.

What a wonderful experience at Hola Arepa, amazing atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service. This restaurant began as a food truck but their passion and amazing food coudn't be limited to a truck!
As we came up to the restaurant, we were first captured by the blue rustic truck in front of the restaurant with a rustic wooden theme. The exterior pretty much informs you about the experience you are going to get in the restaurant and with their food.
The service was excellent, quick to bring you to the table, serve your food and constant but not overwhelming attention.
The food came quickly, which was good, we were hungry and eager to dig in! The highlight of the meal was definitely the Arepas. This is our first time having Arepas, these are Venezuelan Arepas, cornmeal doughs filled by delicious meat, cheese, veges and their special salsas. The filling was generous, the meat cooked to perfection and amazing flavors!
Andrew Wiest
This place sets the standard for fresh and delicious ingredients, that all play off each other perfectly. My only knock is that the small space and loud atmosphere make conversation a slight struggle. Highly recommend this spot.
garrett rea
Sister recommended local South American Arepas joint. We started with strong(!) cocktails and apps. The happy hour was great for fried cauliflower and chips with guacamole. Both excellent. Arepas for both of us, Cuban for me and pork+sweet potato for her. So delicious and reasonably priced.
Jensine Stegenga
Favorite spot ❤️ Food is AMAZING. I could eat the breakfast cuban all day every day. Drinks are always unique and delicious too!
Cyndi Rodriguez
Great food and amazing drinks! Drinks are really strong and worth every penny. The atmosphere is super cute. Great for date night! The food is amazing and authentic. And the service is just phenomenal, staff is super polite and prompt when serving and refilling drinks. They are very knowledgeable on the menu. Definitely worth going over and over again. And try both sauces for the yuca fries, they are amazing!
Mariam Rehman
I was impressed from the get-go from this restaurant - in fact, as soon as I saw the Tiffany blue walls and decor combined with the greenery, I was sold!
As soon as you enter the area, you feel like you're transported to another tropical country. And to be honest, although the restaurant scene is picking up in Minneapolis, I didn't expect to see such a vibrant and unique restaurant here. I was impressed! Total Bali vibes.
Looks aside, I loved the precautions this restaurant was taking for Covid. All the employees wore masks and required all guests to wear their mask as well any time the servers approached us. They also gave us a personal spray bottle of hand sanitizer to use throughout the experience. Love it!
We all chose different Arepas to try - my table got the black bean, chicken chimichuri, and steak ones. I tried the chicken and steak and both were seriously divine! What was this flavor explosion?! It felt similar to an authentic Latin restaurant I tried in Miami. The side dips were perfect and really added depth to the dishes. And the plantains? I could eat another 10 of those !
We also tried the Dos non alcoholic drink - it was good, albeit a little watered down. I tasted some pineapple flavor but not enough for me to want to order it again.
The churro was delicious as well but not like a traditional churro. Tasted and looked kind of more like a rusk cake. Still had plenty of cinnamon-sugar flavor and the chocolate dip was good! Also not sure if I would get again though.
In total for the 3 of us the bill came out to be around $80 with the service charge. Pretty expensive overall but the service was superb and the Arepas were delicious. Atmosphere was also perfect ! I would definitely dine here again despite the above.
Beth Gasser
Very good. Busy, but we got seated right away. Great flavors and unique menus. Loved as the sauces and chutneys. Corn cakes are delicious. Not much parking. We will be back!
David Plourde
Great addition to the neighborhood. The food is spectacular. They have a great menu with meal options for everyone. In the summer there is a nice deck that you can enjoy a great brunch menu with friends (patio is dog friendly too).
There is a decent sized parking lot, but if it is full you can find plenty of parking on the streets.
Yew Kar
I loved the arepitas!!! Plantains were great too. Gabriella was great. I'm not a fan of the 90 minutes limit on eating even though I understand were they're coming from. I love their new procedures that they've incorporated because of covid especially the sign were it says whether you're just chilling or need service.
Laura Reid
Absolutely incredible experience food and drinks.
Katie Dilling
This place rules! The decor is on point. The staff is friendly and efficient. Drinks were delish - props for having a mocktail list!! Food was great too. The arepita and aprepas are must tries!! I wish I lived in Minneapolis and could eat this food more often!! Get the hot Cheeto brittle for dessert!
Nawni Nguyen
Friendly and great service. The taste of great. The food Congress out hot and fresh. The food also looks absolutely appetizing. The service was great. The server was always around to get us what we needed or to refill our waters before it was empty. The restaurant is small in size but it is totally worth to go.

This place is a FIND!!!
Straight to the point, as a party of two, we got 2 arepas, vegetarian (Black bean) and Cuban, both were simply delicious! Check out the pictures and you'll see, they even look sexy ;)
In addition, both arepas came with a sauce on a side. Veg with Chimichurri and Cuban with sort of Aioli. Either one was remarkable!!
As an appetizer, we've got Roasted Brussel Sprouts. I think they toss them into some vinaigrette, and it makes it extremely flavorful!
Drinks. Even better here; there is no Bloody Mary on the menu, so they made it as a special order. You can easily tell no drink mix was involved, instead they combined tomato juice with some spicy salsa before mixing it up, and it was yet one of the best Bloody Mary's I've tried.
No beer that day, so I picked DOS Mocktail. Well, this was a little miss, it was too small for $5 and... I'd just say it wasn't a great choice personally for me.
As to the Cons, VERY SMALL PARKING LOT. If you are coming here during a rush hour, consider walking. We got lucky with a spot, because a car pulled out right in front of us, however that may be an issue. Not blaming the owner, there are nowhere to expand it, its just a tip for those who coming.
One last thing, we were waiting for Arepas forever. Normally, I would take a star down for that, but the Kitchen impressed me a ton, so I just can't. Yes, it was quite busy and all the tables around us were taken, but guys, think about it... The faster you serve, the faster these customers leave, and new ones come in... Twice as many people per rush hour!
Jose Benitez
Delicioso!! Yes, Hola Arepa is a favorite and go-to place, whether it’s brunch, dinner or late-night snack.
And it is celiac friendly, like almost everything on their menu. The pork and sweet potatoe arepa and yuca fries are a staple!!
Viviana Acevedo
The arepas were good and portions are big!!
The service is great and the place is really charming. 4 stars because the mango cocktail I ordered wasn’t good.
Jacob Cox
Always a good time. Drinks are mid-priced, but they make em tasty and STRONG, so you won't be disappointed. The yucca fries are great, and the sauces they come with are INCREDIBLE. And the arepas themselves are big and flavorful without making you feel too full.
Our server was hilarious, and made our day. Put all that together and it's great!
Maxwell McQuirter
Tasty Arepas, mediocre sides. Order online ahead and call to confirm your parking spot and they will place the order in your trunk or hand it to you in your window.
I ordered three arepas and chips with guac as a side for my family. The Beef and the chorizo arepas were tasty. In addition, the chips, $8 were more than enough to satisfy us. The guac ($4) on the other hand, was so small in comparison it felt disrespectful. My advice, skip the sides and just get the Arepas to avoid disappointment.
Caleb Checkal
Easily my favorite restaurant around. Great prices, great space, great atmosphere. Also the food is spectacular! They are doing a great job handling these covid times.
Kirstin Sinner
I went with a group for brunch and it was very good. I did think the arepa breakfast sandwich I got could’ve had some more seasoning but I still enjoyed it the way it was. The parking lot is super small so if bank on street parking, but it’s definitely worth it!
Pippa Dobbyn
The food is always delicious, and they have a wonderful cocktail menu. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. Tables are tightly packed, and the restaurant is noisy. This was fine for us and the food is WORTH it, but if you are looking to comfortably and leisurely catch up with old friends this might not be the place for that. Overall, definitely a must try!

I came here last weekend with my partner, and I can't wait to go back! I have a gluten allergy, and it was so refreshing to look at a menu and be told that only two items (two!) were not gluten free. Everything else is, and the server was so reassuring that I wouldn't be at risk for exposure. And the food is absolutely incredible. We both got an arepa, and had so much food left over we had a second meal for the next day! I definitely recommend going here, and be prepared to take home leftovers!
Christopher Fugh
An absolute must try in the twin cities area. Everything on the menu is a 10/10! Perfect place for some homemade comfort food instead of a burger and fries or pizza. If you haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for?!
Henry Nieberg
The atmosphere is great, definitely a great drink selection and helpful waiters. The main dishes I tried were good but nothing phenomenal, and a little overpriced in my personal opinion. However, the yuca fries were absolutely phenomenal.
underMIND
Delicious, gluten free, richly flavorful food! Simple options, but perfect simplicity. Great sauces, incredibly refreshing drinks.
Julia C
Highly recommend! I loved the atmosphere of the outdoor seating. I ordered one of the vegetarian arepas. Serving sizes are generous and the food tastes amazing. Great service with attentive servers.
Christa Haverly
The food and drinks here are incredible! You cannot go wrong. Brussels sprouts, arepas, yuca, plantains, chorizo, tortillas, empanadas, horchata pot de creme. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free, and special requests can be made on a bunch of menu items, for instance getting pork on the side. The cocktail memu is also fantastic.
Netia Shores
So so good. My first time. I got the roasted pork. Bursting with flavor and goodness. Will return and bring friends.
Jenae Carlson
Yuca fries and the sauce were incredible. The whole place is covered in plants and was a fun environment!
Chris Hanlon
This place is worth every single dollar, every single time...The food is EXTREMELY flavorful, fresh, and very quick to come out(even when it's busy). The cocktails are a bit expensive but, I think, with enough alcohol to justify the price. The staff are always very friendly and patient and professionally fun. This restaurant's quality is consistent and has not let me down yet.
PolythPam
A cool joint with tasty arepas! We were pleasantly surprised by the arepitas - think jalapeño popper inside a crispy, fluffy corn casing. Yum!
Loretta Korba
So, happy we went here for dinner! Everything was super good! Loved that we could pick our own salsas to try and our server has excellent recommendations! We'll forsure to be back in the summer to sit on the patio!
Nina Hicks
The food was excellent. It was our first time and it certainly won't be our last. I had the Arroz Verde and a side of Churros for dessert.
Joe Reyes
Stumbled upon this place by accident so glad I did. Warm charming environment, great service and the food was excellent. The plan is to go back and work my way through the menu.
Heidi Davis
What a cute restaurant and the food was so good! The pork arepas were amazing, as well as the queso, yum! Our server was awesome as well, super friendly and attentive!
Tristan Klausegger
One of my first patios in Minneapolis when I moved here during Covid and they had tented their parking lot. It was cozy for a hot summer day, and we had great salsas and margaritas.
michael stokes
Had great appetizer and beer/ wine. Food from other tables looked and smelled great. Service is a little slow.
Chase Nelson
I've eaten at Hola Arepa a handful of times and it's always been delicious. Everything I've ordered is always fresh and bursting with flavor. The staff is also very friendly, even during Covid. If you're planning on stopping by I'd recommend booking a reservation in advance, it gets quite busy.
Emma Draxton
This is where you go to forget you live in the frozen tundra with their tropical ambiance. The drinks are fantastic. The horchata colada is a delicious DREAM! Their food is great and it's certainly an excellent experience all the way around.
Yesenia Marquetti
No espresso, but the hot sauces are on point 👌🏽
Cindy Andress
We enjoyed the food. It was filling, fresh and really good! The fried arepa balls were spicy and a great appetizer to share
!
Tim Athey
Salsa and chips comes with your choice of salsas. The fried chicken and spicy Benedict was very good. The "churro" is not a churro and is over seasoned. Would not recommend.
Ellen Wall
Love Hola Arepa! It’s delicious every time. Absolutely cannot recommend it enough - the arepas are all delicious, the yuca fries are incredible, and there are so many fun drinks and sides (the Brussels sprouts are yummy). Atmosphere is also great - it can get a little loud when it’s busy but it’s still ok to be able to hear and talk.
BJ Letourneau (bleto77)
Unbelievably good food. We got the pork and hot chicken Arepas. Both were amazing and we'd recommend both. Awesome atmosphere and great staff. 10/10
Bhaskar Ravishankar
Visited the place a few times. The menu has few items but tasty and flavorful. Speaking purely from a vegetarian perspective the options are few. But my friends said that the chimmichurri chicken and Chipotle chicken Arepa tasted excellent too. Their Yuca fries and Arepitas (Latin American version of cheese curds) are superb as well!
They also have some very interesting cocktails. The one in the pic is actually served hot. It's the hot xholat which has coconut rum base with some hot chocolate. Totally different but tasty. Definitely worth visiting.
Jason
Without question, this is the best mid range restaurant in Minneapolis right now. Casual, relaxing space inside and out. Fantastic cocktails and food so good and made so fast you will leave in awe. Also, quite possibly, the best repurpose of a former 7-11 you will find.
Mikey Kroeger
Very cool place for experience and cuisine that isn't mainstream in the area. Parking can be a bit tight.
Essie Anawalt
This was the first time I have had arepas and they did not disappoint (slow-roasted pork). Absolutely amazing.
It was also snowy out (March?) and they had the most amazing chocolate cocktail that was just perfect.
Tamella H
A very cute location and setting, gluten free heaven, delicious food, quick service But both glasses we got served for water had lipstick stains on them also portions are smaller than in most of the places.
P.S. Goat cheese app was amazing
Tiffany Stefonick
Yum, yum, YUM! This cute little restaurant has amazing food and the employees are so kind. They have the best slow roasted pork - it never disappoints!
Janeth Sanchez
The food was delicious, as always. Parking is usually tight, we parked 1 block away on free street parking and walked. We made it in time for happy hour and got drinks, arepas, and a few apps for less than $35 for 2 people. The arepas have great flavor combinations and are really satisfying even though it doesn't look like a lot of food. I love coming here!
Kelly Van Eschen
One of my favorite spots especially for Happy Hour. The food is delicious and the cocktails are fabulous. Indoor seating is cozy but not too cramped and in the summer the patio seating is a great place to hang out.
Dave Cecchi
Here's the deal with Hola Arepa - it's extremely legit and fully hype justified. All my neighbors they got much flavor. In the summer you sit on the patio and have a sangria and one of the shredded beef arepas with plantains and some yucca fries and you seriously have to take occasional breaks to pinch yourself because yes it's really real for real real and it's all happening. Then in the winter it's suddenly and magically comfort food, pairing beautifully with a cold weather bourbon and a pair of sorrels and it's totally worth dragging yourself out for.
FOOD
I almost always get the beef one with the plantains or the pork and sweet potatoes one. The veggie one is also fun. I say sincerely that there are no misses on the menu.
TIPS AND NOTES
Parking is often a challenge so be ready to park a block or more away and hoof it
Not open for lunch crazy huge frown emoticon
To-go is awesome and it travels well
See you at Hola.
Dustin Kwee
Best dish is definitely the arepa benedict. It was very well balanced and the sauce was a great complement. The yuka hash was also pleasant as it tasted fresh and light compared to the rest. The drink selection is extensive - being a fan of whiskey drinks, I tried the Hola fashioned and uncharted waters. Both honestly felt a little watered down, and I didn't like their take on the classic old fashioned. The uncharted waters was better, but nothing out of the ordinary. Prices are also a little steep, but it comes with a lively atmosphere.
Kendra Jensen
So pretty and cute inside. Very fast and friendly service and amazing food! Can't wait to go back!
Miguel Viana
Really liked the cachapas very nice dish. The price is average for brunch recommend for most people that like fun food.
Shelby M
Hola mi nuevo restaurante favorito. I loved everything about this place (my bank account didn't like the bill, but for these flavors it was valued accurately). We found parking just outside the restaurant, and waited about 10 minutes during a peak time. My partner and I sat at a half booth-half chair table on the patio, and we both felt comfy after a long day at work. The atmosphere was lively, so of course we got a drink! For $22 we got a big pitcher in a traditional Spanish drinking vessel. I ordered the beef and plantain arepa - the tender and flavorful meat matched by the sweetness of the plantains mixed with some beans and cheese made every bite make me wish I ordered 2 of these arepas! The yuca fries with the aioli also make you wish you ordered a second side of them. I've been craving to eat here again ever since we left.
Karin Berdal
One of the best brunches I've ever had! I got the silver dollar corn cakes 😍 Plus! The decor, ambience and service was awesome! …
Jocelyn Beard
Delicious! It was my first time and I will definitely return. The happy hour selection did not disappoint. Service was attentive and the drinks were tasty. I sat on the patio and it was bigger than I thought from the outside definitely great for a solo diner, couples and groups.
Melissa B
I had the tostada chilaquiles with pork and a small side of guacamole. It was incredible. Nice balance of crunchiness from the tostadas, with the eggs, black beans and pork.
Isabelle Schwarz
Delicious eats!
Great for groups or date night!
Brussel sprouts are good as a meal or to share! Highly recommend chips and salsa (cuz why not??) and the jalapeño goat cheese balls (comes with four). Pictured is the La Lunada, sweet but very tasty!
Chong H
This was my first time trying an arepa and I was very excited. We saw the YouTube video of this restaurant and they looked mouth watering. After trying it, I concluded it's not really for me. The sauces are a little too sour for my tastes. The corn arepa didn't really stand out to me. I did like the yuca fries, they were unique. I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness, the area we sat didn't seem very clean and there was a fly that circled us the whole meal. They have a little parking lot out front.
Grace Finger
highly recommend this place especially if you are vegan/vegetarian/have other eating restrictions. they have lots of meat free options that are actually good and unique! the service is always fast and friendly; i would say we got our food maybe 10/15 minutes after ordering. the atmosphere is super cozy without feeling stuffy or overwhelming. HIGHLY recommend! :)
Megan Matthew
It's obviously a very cute place. There's no steps to enter, the lighting at night was very dim, but some could consider romantic with fake candles and everything. 😂
Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I had the chorizo arepa. I also had their non alcoholic horchata and it was delicious!
Anna Potts
Such a fun atmosphere! I felt completely safe COVID-19 wise because of the double symptom screening, strict mask adherence, and wonderful air flow. The food was delicious 😋 …
Fay Lucas
Come here for those fries they are so tasty! I also really like the brussel sprouts, this are also really yummy!
Kristin
Did brunch here. The minchelada was amazing but I found the blood Mary to be surprisingly sweet. I had the Benedict which was great except I wasn’t a fan of the guava sauce with it. Separate it’s great but not on the Benedict. Chorizo sausage and egg was very good and the fried yuca was my favorite! Was craving a churro when u saw it in the menu which was ok. I felt it was over cooked. Definitely want to come back and just focus on arepas next time.
Charissa Youngs
Ate here on 4/9/22, was such an awesome experience! Food and drinks were great, wait staff very attentive, spot on menu suggestions for 1st time visit, quick to get your order and deliver to your table. We dinned inside and the atmosphere makes you think you should walk out to a beach front view and a perfect 89 degrees. Will be back and definitely recommend eating here. Just know a 20% tip is automatically added to bill, yet they state that no extra tip required.
Shanèe
Quick service. Awesome bartenders and servers, and the food is amaaaazing. There is a chill vibe, the music is great (in my opinion), there is patio seating and the restaurant is family friendly. There is a small parking lot, but during peak times on street parking may be necessary. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 …
Peter Angelos
Great flavors, quality and attention to detail. Huge plus is that most everything on the menu is gluten free and celiac friendly. For something fun, try the cheetos for a sweet and spicy candied dessert.
Shela Usadi
Lovely place and amazing decor! The food is Cuban with a twist I think. I ordered the Chimicurri Arepa It was pretty good but a bit overpriced. Don't order the "churros" it was bitter and dry!
Erin Salmon
When we were seated, they told us there was a 90 minute limit on our table, but they were so fast we had more than enough time and weren't rushed. I got the sweet potato and black bean arepa, which was incredible. Their salsas were all so good and different. I would highly recommend this place.
Helen Karsten
Fantastically good food for a very reasonable price. One of my favorite spots to get dinner if I don't feel like cooking. You can't go wrong.
Elizabeth Tam
The arepas here are AMAZING! I would recommend the Breakfast Cuban Arepa with yuca fries. The drinks here are also a fun. I would recommend making a reservation before coming as it is pretty popular and there can be a wait.
Victor Johnson
amazing as always!
Hola arepa is a date night go-to for my wife and me. Or the occasional,”need something awesome and fast” moment like tonight. 😋
Joe Dancho
Have been meaning to get here for some time now. Started eating out of their truck Downtown back in the day and man, they have come a long way. Super delicious food, great drinks, great staff. Will mos def be back.
CC Docken
Such amazing food! Wonderful staff. Will definitely go back
Lindsey Smith
Great service and great food. Got the arepitas from the happy hour menu and they were delicious. The only hard part is choosing which sandwich to get and what sauce to go with the yummy yucca fries.
ariel smith
Great place for someone who is gluten free! Loved the patio and they server was friendly and knowledgeable.
Todd Jelinski
Unbelievable experience!! I would highly recommend!! Awesome place for outdoor summer seating. Friendly. Great service. And the food was phenomenal!! We had the chips with three salsas and a side of quesso fundido to start and it was sooooo good!! Then each of us in our party tried a different arepa, and everyone was so impressed. I had the Cuban and it was phenomenal!! The flavors, the sauces, it was all so very, very good. I would highly recommend trying this place. So good!!! Looking forward to going back again, hopefully soon!!
Serenity Silvers
What a fun spot! When walking up to the patio, the energy was palpable. They had fun drinks and authentic Mexican food. The guacamole and salsa trio was a great way to start. I had a lovely Strawberry Hibiscus iced tea that tasted like summer and the Tostada Chilaquiles was amazing!
Matt Mauer
My wife and I have gone here several times and have always enjoyed our experience. The food is amazing, and the prices are decent overall! I highly recommend this place and will be back again soon!
If you are uncertain, try to go during their happy hour, as they have great deals then!
Kate L
One of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. Consistently excellent food, good (and fast!) service, delicious cocktails, and a great happy hour menu. I find myself craving pulled pork arepas and yucca fries all the time!
keith epperson
Great neighborhood go to restaurant. Serves a unique menu centered around arepas. Good bar choices as well. My arepa was decent but not outstanding, likely my choice of protein. Brussel sprouts are a MUST
Mike Spanjar
A thoroughly cramped but but Mexican restaurant and bar with inside and outside seating. The photo shows the moment shortly after a driver backed into the planters. Haha! We enjoyed the corn cakes - definitely something different, and the small meals were surprisingly filling. We had to wait maybe 20 minutes to be seated. Getting a drink before then was near impossible since the bar was packed with people. Still, give it a try if you're patient.
Tracia Sedivy
Delicious as always. Great chips, salsa & guacamole. Tried the green plantains & really liked it. Drinks are always strong & delicious!
Benjamin Brummel
Excellent Brunch spot. Plan ahead to avoid missing out as it gets very full on weekend mornings.
Tamara
Have loved everything I've ordered. Never a bad experience here!
Cory Absey
Great food, Celiac friendly. Will come again
Josh
Food is amazing and very affordable. Very big portions and typically have to get a box to take some of the areps home (after eating an appetizer.) Some of the best flavors with latin food that b I've tasted and will definitely be back.
Patrick Kelly
Superb food and staff in a really fun environment. The yuca fries with two interesting sauces were outstanding.
Jennifer Hodge
A group of five of us had lunch reservations on a Saturday. This is such a fun place to eatthe decor makes it feel like an exotic island experience. The service was quick and friendly. We were seated immediately and told we had 90 minutes, which was more than enough for us to take time ordering, eating and chatting. The food was fantastic! And everything is gluten free! The drinks were delicious, coffee was excellent, seriously everything was perfect. And the restroom was clean :)
Adam Olson
My vote for best brunch in Minneapolis. The dishes are flavorful and vibrant. Plenty of vegan/gluten free options as well. Granted I have only tried 2 things on the brunch menu, but they have made me a lifelong customer. Highly recommend the arroz Verde bowl and chicken cachapas. Also need to try the yuca fries!
Nader Banilohi
Amazing setting with great service. The Arepas are amazing! Don't come here and not get the arepas! My recommendations would be the brussel sprouts for appetizer and for the arepas, choose shredded beef and Cuban but all are great options!
Liz Aleman Moore
We recently went here and were impressed with their Covid precautions and excellent service. Food was excellent as well! Next time we visit Minneapolis we’ll be back for sure!
Aishwarya Menon
Great patio, delicious food! Love the green rice, yuca fries and fried plantain. Excellent for a Sunday brunch or drinks with friends.
Morgan Redemann
Delicious comfort food on a snowy Saturday morning! The breakfast fried egg arepa with pork and guac is amazing, cotija cheese gave it an additional flavor dimension to top it off!! We sat in an enclosed heated porch area to have brunch and watch the snow fall - great place for a group!
Christina K
Arepas are always deliciously done, and those yucca fries.. yum! The arepas are so flavorful without being heavy, super tender too. Plus any chef that can properly cook an egg is worth his weight in gold. See picture for proof.
Fayth Nystel
This place was absolutely delicious! Such a beautiful atmosphere as well. Patio seating available. The arepas were incredible! Everything was so filling!
Miranda Poradek
I’m a big fan of Hai Hai so I was super excited to check out Hola Arepa! Even though we came on a busy Saturday night, it definitely lived up to expectations. We sat out on the patio, which had lots of fun vacation-y decor. The food came quickly and everything was great! I got the braised jackfruit arepa, which was very tender and flavorful. The yucca fries may have been my favorite part. They were especially delicious with with the aioli verde! Looking forward to trying more items on the menu next time.
Maggie Utterback
This was such a great spot for lunch! Highly, highly recommend! The shredded pork is 1000/10
Madison Foerderer
I really loved my experience at Hola Arepa. We decided to try it out one weekend night with no reservation, and it was super busy. However, we were able to grab bar seating pretty quickly. The bartenders provided amazing customer service, and our drinks were fantastic! My favorite thing I had was the yuca fries. Would totally come again!
Pouria Niknam
The food and service are both good. I also like the parties they have during summer.
I wish they were open for lunch during the week.
Nate Engh Stein
Amazing food! The chips come with 3 salsas (you have to pay for them), and we got guac as well which was extra. All three salsas were delicious and not too spicy (2 had little to no heat at all). The guac was bright and we all fought over the last bite! We got 2 original margaritas, both with salt, on the rocks, and were delicious. My wife got the flamenco (slushy) what she called "very yummy!", and I got an Uncharted Waters, which I thought was delicious. One person ordered brussel sprouts and loved them, another got a beef arepa ( he had never had an arepa before) and was surprised how much he loved it! My wife got the Cubano and fell in love with it, and I got the beef and plantain which was absolute heaven. All the arepas came with yucca fries that were light crispy and had great flavor. There's two sauces for dipping and putting on your arepas and both. It's really enhanced flavors! Overall, this place is a true hidden gem that everyone should visit
Harlie Lane
Tasty, big portions, awesome atsmosphere!
Also, excellent cocktails.
Clark Ohnesorge
We ate there last night. I had screwed up my reservation but they found us a table anyhoo after about 10 minutes even though it was a busy time. Interesting salsas, the Arepas we had were delicious and the service was very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Nice joint!
John Mares
Very busy on a Friday at 6PM. 4 adults with 3 children under 7 years old need fast service. Our waitress was fast and friendly and came back several times. My only minor complaint is that the margaritas could be in a larger glass and less ice, none the less food was excellent.
John Hiebert
Delicious. Drinks are stiff. Arepas are things of legend. Totally worth the wait and lack of parking.
Laura S.
Great place to enjoy an arepa and a lemonade on their patio. As a bonus, they are dog friendly.
Leah J
I love Hai Hai so I was really excited try Hola Arepa and it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. The drinks and arepas were great! The queso fundido sauce was the best I’ve had. Can’t wait to go back!
Kyle McQuaid
Several plant-based options. Good atmosphere. Tasty food. Novel menu items. Attractive staff. Virgin cocktails.
Craig Larson
Love this place! Great drinks and unique food! Had the Cuban arepa and loved it! Yucca fries were killer!
Ywh Krgb
Good food, great customer service, just wasn't a fan of the idea that you only have 90 minutes to eat. I do understand the reasoning behind it but still.
Fred Finney
The arepas match their excellent reputation. The restaurant was crowded with a standing wait line the evening we dined there. However the wait for a booth was short, followed by excellent food and service.
Megan Schultz
It was my first time here, and it won't be my last. SUCH a cute place with incredible food. We had reservations for the patio, which was busy but didn't feel busy thanks to our awesome server. I didn't snap any pics this time, but I ordered the shredded beef and plantain Arepa. Do yourself a favor and order an Arepa. So stinking delicious. I will most definitely be back -- I can't wait to try them all eventually!
Noah Patterson
Great place to get some lunch. I wish the parking situation was better. Almost the entire lot is for curbside, but I found street parking a block down. The service is fantastic. The food and drinks are also really good. They have a 90 minute max for dining time which was a little annoying. I felt rushed and got some stares after 90 minutes. Great gluten free options. And I loved the decor. I’d come back.
DinoWhore SoreAss
Go for Brunch, other times not that great. Also, be aware that there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill.
Kiesha Dent
Dishes were ok. Yuca fries and salsa were my favorite things. But I will say that the areas were lacking a bit in flavor. Not what I expected, but we had a good time in a good atmosphere.
Lindsay Davis
The food and the drinks were absolutely incredible here. The dining experience and ambiance could use some work. There were 6 of us and we were old friends. We showed up just as it opened for brunch. They sat us in the corner next to the speaker so we could barely hear each other. But still good music. Would go back again and sit at a different table 😊
Arthur Bishop
I love this place. Both visits were on point. Friendly service, 👍 food and dog friendly patio. Don't skip the hot salsa, lots of flavor with a fair amount of heat. …
Sabrina P.
Amazingly fast service, and a huge amount of food for the price.
Update: still an amazing spot, with a tip built in so no worrying about that. The staff is lovely, and the food is fantastic. A great spot to go to again and again.
Tori Kee
Always great service and food at Hola Arepa! We got the chips and 3 salsas, cheese dip, and the mini arepas filled with goat cheese and jalapeños for an appetizer. Two chimichurri chicken arepas and a Cuban , all with yuca fries. So delicious, I am stuffed! Plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Our service was great. Food and drinks came out quickly, water was refilled often. Hola Arepa knows how to do things right!!
Isabelle Rolfes
Food was great, service was great! But can’t support a service charge. Language is too ambiguous and makes me wonder if the ‘house’ is taking a portion. All of that money needs to go to the front and back of house workers, and owners need to make that clear.
Michelle H
I just had an amazing brunch from Hola Arepa! I love that they deliver curb side, it made it so easy. My husband and I tried a few things and loved each one of them. We had the Chicken Chimichurri Arepa, it was delicious and we loved the white sauce included. My only complaint on the arepa is that it gets soggy fast- we ate it in the parking lot luckily. It's a messy sandwich but wonderful flavors. We also tried the Fried Chicken and Cachapa. The chicken was so flavorful and the maple chipotle syrup was the perfect amount of sweetness. The sweet corn pancake was the perfect base! Another item that was difficult to eat in a car, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! Our last dish we tried was the Brunch Arroz Verde with pork. It was both of our favorite fish and definitely what I will order again next time we go. Everything was amazing and we already want to go back.
Megan C
Come for the vibes and the creative drinks. The food is...so-so. It's expensive for what you get and pretty bland. If I want arepas I'd go somewhere tastier and more affordable: Chimborazo, Maria's Cafe, or even just down the street, Cocina Latina. But if you want a drink and a snack, it's a fun spot.
N M
Fantastic food and drink, great location, very friendly staff!
Scott McLewin
Two weeks later and my wife is still talking about our two meals here as we passed through the Twin Cities. Fast to table, creative and delicious. Hola Arepa serves up a meal that is well worth the detour. :)
Andie Hinitt
Hola Arepa is my new favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. The arepas were fantastic and the yuca fries were to die for. Also it was the fastest service I’ve gotten at a restaurant in a long time. Would highly highly recommend!!
Cate Crowe
I found the atmosphere, food, and service here to be exceptional. My girlfriend and I went for brunch. We ordered iced coffee and chips, salsa, and guac to start. The coffee tasted great, and the chips were fresh, light, and crispy, which can be hard to find. The salsas and guac all tasted fresh and homemade. We each ordered an arepa for an entree and were very happy with out choices. I got the Cuban and she got black beans. Again, the food was fresh and delicious. We were seated on the covered patio on a warm sunny morning, so we watched the world go by. The service was prompt and polite, not too much attention nor too little. I understand other reviewers concerns about the service charge, and I would love to have some insight as to whether that money ends up making into employees' pockets, but I was quite happy to pay the dollar figure on the bill with no tip line. It also meant that we didn't need to wait for our server to come back to the table to pick up the tab. All in all, a great dining experience with solid food at fair prices. We'll be returning.
Mazzy
Vibrant fresh arepas and latin cuisine! Tastefully done and lots of good options. The yucca fries and the sauces are what stands out for sure. Travelled well for takeout but the restaurant looks sweet too. Yes, as the reviews say it's expensive for arepas but they use high quality ingredients and they load everything up!!
Luke Argent
If you like arepas then this is the place. The food is great, the drinks are on point and the yuka fries are on a different level
Eddie Mend
Great food! Only 4 stars because the location is outside of other places but the food is worth it.
Alex Sneed Miller
Really good food. Wish I would have dined in and not just done take out because the decor and atmosphere both inside and on the patio was really cool.
Arepas and avacado tostadas for take out were still good even after a 30 minute drive home.
The ability to order ahead was nice. The parking lot is a bit small
Diana Eide
Such a different place to eat....when you are tired of the same old same d go here. My fav is the Cuban. Plus lots of specialty drinks that change.
Enzo Guaipo
It was good but not real Venezuelan food so it’s ok
Mario Feola
Always tasty, hearty food and a fun environment. A great spot for brunch on the patio. I’m a big fan of Hai Hai (their other restaurant) and Hola Arepa is just as good! Try the rhubarb margarita
Analise Williams
Delicious!!! It's so awesome to order from a place where the whole menu is gluten free! And there are dairy free options as well.
Tess Thomas
If you have Celiac disease, this is an awesome place to go!!!! Everything was amazing! I will be back!
Alisha Keointavong
Food came out quickly and everything was super delicious! We got the chips and salsas and the pulled pork and chorizo arepa
Luke Wiley
First of all the food here legitimately amazing, we tried 3 different arepas. The sides and sauces were unique and lively. The drinks were great (we had the "dos"). The horchata dessert was delicious.
Second, our server Ramses(Ramsey?) was awesome, he had good recommendations and even a bit of a philosopher. We'd recommend this to anyone!
Bradley Hofbauer
This place is THE best. Fantastic drinks: check. Incredible apps and mains: check. Dessert to kill: check. If you’re wondering if you should come here tonight, stop thinking. Just go. It’s great.
Fatma S.
I love the Arepas here. Very flavorful and wonderful aroma. I like the vibe of the place very much. My only issue is with some of the wait staff who can be a bit rude at times.
Electa Vee
The beef cornmeal arepa was delicious. However, my favorite was the chocolate cake dessert! I'm not a big sweet eater but it sounded so good and it exceeded my expectations. The meals are gluten free to boot. Well, except that dessert if you get the Graham crackers 😋 …
Aditi Velankar
Rated 5 by a future food critic. Our whole family loves this place: great menu, prompt, courteous and friendly service! Lucky to have such wonderful South American cuisine in the twin cities!
Sarah Halby
This place was a balm to the MN winter. A tropical oasis full of delicious food and drink. I cannot wait to go back.
Lauren Anderson
I live in the UK and every time I'm in town I eat here, there's not any restaurant like it that I've found! Love the Arepas and the cocktails are a great compliment. Almost everything is gluten free, lots of veggie options
John Gervais
One of my favorite spots to grab food and drinks in the Twin Cities, if not my top pick. I've brought many friends and family here, all to have them also fall in love with this place. The arepas are always on point (highly recommend the chimichurri chicken) and the the cocktails are some of the best (Bayamo!). The menu is updated on a regular basis with awesome new options and is a great reason to keep coming back. Really wish they would bring back the We Surfed Here cocktail (legit my favorite cocktail of all time anywhere) but still love all their new options! As an added bonus, they are right across the street from Pat's Tap, so hit up some ski ball afterwards!
Duccio Mondanelli
LOVE Hola Arepa! Everything on the menu is amazing but you gotta try the arepitas as they're to die for.
Janavi
Delicious brunch! We had the arepas benedict and arepa hash. Really good flavors and love the arepa spin on some of my favorite brunch items.
Mitul Desai
Food was amazing. Quick service, even when it was jam-packed.
Joey H
Gourmet, authentic and unique... Expensive (but not overpriced).
Everything we tried was rather spectacular, but if pressed for recommendation I would suggest the chimichurri chicken (mixed green salad). Every appetizer, drink, entree, dessert was sensational and very authentic.
I agree with yew and was not fond of the 90 minute limit, however they managed to make it completely worthwhile.
Emileigh Stoll
Everything you've heard about this place is true. This is a MUST visit in the Twin Cities. I ordered the slow roasted pork arepa and will spend my days dreaming of it until I visit again. Hola sauce and yuca fries are perfect supplement to already perfect meal.
Lakes Condo
great food- brunch is the best!! and that patio....wow
Jai Kumar Mediratta
The appetizers are great. We got the empanadas and they’re little pockets of flavor. I tried the Fried Chicken Arepa with a side of Yuca fries. The chicken was juicy and the Arepa was packed with flavor. The Yuca fries were cold, but the side dipping sauces were fantastic. Get a few cocktails when you’re here. The ambiance is pretty fantastic and I love the live plants. We will be back.
Tiffany Grimm
Always great food, drinks and service. All time favorite!
Saurabh Sinha
Neighborhood parking challenges and the hot seating area were a spoilsport.
David Nelson
The atmosphere was very lively and we enjoyed that. The service was good along with the innovative drink selection. My wife loved her arepa although mine wasn't overly flavorful (slow-roasted pork). The portions were decent sized and we left very full. Also, you can't go wrong with the yuca fries.
prerna bhandari
To be honest I have mixed opinions.
Ambiance is nice and cozy and comfortable seating but it becomes crowded in winter's as outside seating is rarely picked by visitors.
The drinks are refreshing and different from the usual. You can taste the tropical flavors like coconut and chillies and that to served in a unique beach style.
But I was little disappointed by the food as the bun that ordered was difficult to chew although taste was fine.
There are limited options for vegetarians but a seafood fan may enjoy it here.
But the best part is the servers , they know the menu and know how to sell it to you. You should trust them if you are new to this cusine .
Andrea Buiser
Went here for brunch. I got the Yucca Hash and didn't care for it. It was okay. Ordered an iced coffee for $5 that was mostly ice and no free refills. Service was superb.
Brian Dall
Arepas are a bit hard to eat (the pockets were over-stuffed, so it was more of a flat circle on the top and bottom, with all the fillings spilling out on all sides), but delicious. You can use your fingers for parts and just use a fork for the rest. Several varieties to choose from.
Mandy Griffin
Fun atmosphere, good cocktail options, great chips and salsa. My husband and I both tried different arepas and liked them both, and they were reasonably priced. Happy hour menu looked good too although we weren't there at that time. It was very busy on a Friday night and felt a little cramped, but the service was still very attentive and fast.
Samuel Schneider
This was a super great restaurant! The drinks were really good! The service was amazing and the food came out of the kitchen really really fast!
Mark Dustrude
Easy online ordering, easy curbside pickup, wonderful fresh food! Excellent margarita mix.
Kat Beyer
Service was great, servers handled a busy night smoothly, food was FABULOUS. Also, servers masked properly (not all patrons did). Planning to go back when I'm in town (& mask for the sake of this great crew).
Anna Collins
Gluten free jackpot! Great service and great food. We have only gone for brunch and really enough the fried chicken and yucca fries. The portions are generous and the flavors unique and satisfying. They do get very busy so I suggest arriving 10-15 before they open if you are opposed to waiting. Good selection of drinks as well.
Renee Jones
Delicious! Everything was well seasoned and cooked appropriately. I ate things I don't usually eat & enjoyed it. I liked the mock-tails, definitely worth a try. Prices are average for a sit down restaurant. Don't expect huge portions but I left full & satisfied.
Sue Thurber
We reserved a table on the covered patio for late afternoon. Tables were well spaced out, we were briefed on their safety protocol (each table was given a hand sanitizer spray bottle with a flip sign to signal wait staff when we wanted their attention). We felt very safe & appreciated how Hola values protecting their staff.
Food was great - tasty & filling! My first time having plantains. The crema was a nice balance. The pork arepa was so good. First time with yuca fries as well - they were crispy on the outside & tender on the inside. The 2 accompanying sauces were really good.
Would definitely visit again!
Dakota Hain
Love this place! So good! Super nice staff (we actually befriended one of the waitstaff here!).
Spin the menu around with your eyes closed and point at something and you won't be disappointed. Everything we've had there has been fantastic.
It gets busy (cuz too many people know how good it is) and I have no idea if they take reservations (I don't think they do...) but, even on the weekend, we didn't have to wait all that long.
I hate to end on a bad note but I have to say that they need to increase the pour on the drinks. They taste fantastic but there is always so much ice and not enough liquor.
Vicki
Awesome restaurant. The decor was funky and cool and during warmer weather they have a nice patio. The food is gluten free (Celiac friendly) which is a plus because my friend didn't get sick after. All the food we got was amazing and though this time we didn't try their cocktails, they looked awesome.
Jess Kalenda
Delicious every time!!
Ryan Bolduan
Okay Hola Arepa has a special place in my heart, but I swear that doesn't influence my review too much.
Hand's down the best thing about Hola Arepa are the cocktails. Always entertaining and flavorful it's worth getting one every time I go. A special nod to their brunch bloody, which I describe as a fantastic salsa in a glass. Not my favorite in the cities, but in the top-five, and the best-in-it's-class.
Brunch also deserves a special note - as their offerings are always really good. Dinner gets a bit of a mixed review from me. I like everything I've had on their menu, but it's unfortunate to me that I only just "like" their arepas. I think for a restaurant that prides themselves on their signature dish, there are some really good (and in most cases better) offerings that don't get the showcase - and that's unfortunate.
Lastly is the space - I've been going for years now and the space has been really improving over time (though parking is still a bear). Their patio is worth sitting at, their outdoor (non-patio) seating is solid, and their restaurant space is comfortable too.
If you haven't been, it really is worth going even once just to see if it's to your taste.
Zach Kooiman
Great food and the plants will keep me alive during winter
Anna
Adorable little restaurant with amazing food!!
Every menu item has unique flair - everything I've ever ordered has been absolutely delicious. And the yucca fries 💗💗
Really great summer patio too! …
S Kersten
Loved my pork and sweet potato arepa. Good service. Super packed Friday night, recommend reservations
Sammy Nyquist
Fantastic atmosphere, food, and the rhubarb margarita exceeded all expectations! A wonderful experience overall, will be returning soon!
Boba T Fett
Was seated fairly quickly even during peak time. The food was practically out before I could finish my order. The sandwich was great for the price. Great blend of quality ingredients, well prepared. The side greens were a bit ordinary, but I overlooked it compared with the other food.
Kathi Kuehne
Ughhhh this place is so good lol. The arepas, tostones and chips & salsa are delicious!!
The beef was sooooo tender on our tostones. Oh my :)
The slushie was DELICIOUS. This is a super tropical vibe and it is perfect for summer. Everyone is super nice as well!
Nehwoen Luogon-Bojkov
Good food and beautiful atmosphere. Love the outdoor seating
Suzanne Quinnell
Our server was phenomenal! We had a group that came in scattered, with many different questions and requests, which was handled perfectly. The food was delicious, as always. And then, a few of our group had forgotten items, which were safely kept aside for us. Another great experience at Hola!
Lex Talionis
Really great food all around. Solid brunch--refreshing too to have ethnic-y fusion breakfast turn out so good! The arepas are awesome and the appetizers are delicious. The cocktails are reasonable and tasty too. I've never had bad service or food here. It is a busy place sometimes so temper your expectations if you expect to get in and served quickly when there's a full house. Going at off times really helps and doesn't impact the quality of the food. Also, they have excellent happy hour deals!
Sam Roehler
Tried Hola Arepa a few times now and can easily say this is a great place. Between friends and I, we have tired a majority of the items on the menu and they have all been good. They have a solid variety of flavors and spices. Most everything is safe if you are gluten free. Separate friars and all. They have a selection of unique drinks, both alcoholic and some hand crafted non-alcoholic as well. The indoor space is smaller but makes for a nice atmosphere. During the summer the patio is a great addition.
Holly Buttrey
I always have a lovely experience with Hola Arepa. This time included the rice bow with avocado and chips & salsa. It's all flavorful and tastes just as good the next day as leftovers.
Mike Guild
Delicious grub. Great cocktails. Love this local spot.
Anas Al Badi
Have you ever wondered what is it like to go to a Latin American country and dine in a place that serves local food? maybe yes or no, doesn't matter really because this place will either remind you of that time you had or give you an experience of what's it like to be there. The whole vibe from the style of the plates to the food on the plate reminds me of my time in Latin America. The food is just incredible. You need to try their Arepas (I have tried shredded beef and fried chicken). I am gonna say that again, you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO TRY THEIR AREPAS. Thank you for reading this post! I rarely write this much about a restaurant but this one deserved it!
Elora Jean
Hands-down one of THE best places in the cities. Every time I visit I make sure I go! I'm never disappointed by the flavors, ambiance and service. Even during COVID operations, I was happy. Amazing food - I like the black bean & sweet plantain arepa - a definitely MUST.
Ben Willenbring
Oh dang! I can't believe it took me so long to try out Hola Arepa. Fantastic food. The black bean empanadas, and the beef and sweet plantain arepas were the best. In the immortal words of Arnold: "I'll be back!"
Maura Youngman
It's fine, but probably unnecessarily popular. Our server was great, the host and a few of the staffers seemed incredibly fatigued of being around humans (who can blame them.) It does feel a lot like someone plunked a bunch of aspirationally Brooklyn types in the middle of Minneapolis for some reason. The food is good, the cocktails are better.
John Beale
Edit - after a maso-menos first experience, owner contacted and we came around for a second time which was vastly better. Great margaritas, Arepas were fresh, tried the bowl this time and it was flavorful and filling. Thanks to the summer the ambiance was fantastic outside.
Lala Lew
Wish I had taken pictures, food was really good here. I got the Cubano breakfast sandwich, the pork is amazing!!! Warm sangria is delicious!!
Sven Raphael Schneider
We had dinner here years ago and didn't think much of it. Tried it again recently and the Areas were fantastic just like the fried cauliflower. They are super quick to serve, the Arepas look small but they are quite filling. Perfect spot to drop in for a week night dinner but they also serve excellent brunch. Overall a fantastic spot for foodies or people who like a huge bag for the buck.
Chris and Stephanie Ashley
We found this restaurant by accident really and the funky exterior piqued our interest. We love Spanish/Mexican food so we went in and sat on their covered patio. We were helped by the lovely staff to understand the menu and even got some unique cocktail ideas. We ordered 3 plates tapas style plus churros. Plenty of food for 4 people. Mid range pricing. Very tasty and flavourful food.
Roman Mesel
I have eaten here both in person and through take out. Staff are super friendly and helpful, wait times for food are short, drinks are amazing. Tried everything on the menu already, loved it all.
Carlos Acosta
Their food is fantastic! I had never tried yuca fries prior to coming here, but now I crave them. Their drinks are fantastic and their servers know how to help find the drink for you. The staff is also kind and welcoming. The food looks like it's not that much, but it surprisingly gets you close to full about 2/3 into the meal. The atmosphere is inviting while discreet. I loved this place on my first visit and can't wait to come again.
Sergey Vardanyan
Yuca fries are great. Didn’t like the cornmeal griddle. Roasted pork tasted great.
Charles B
Just okay.
The shredded meat on our arepas were pretty under seasoned, under salted, and cold. The arepa itself was a bit tough and chewy. There's some interesting flavors in the sauces and the starters. However, it feels like the arepa should be the star of the show, but the entrees here don't quite live up to the hype. I almost broke a tooth on the rock hard totones. It was interesting to try once, but for the price, I wouldn't visit again.
Lindsay Staten
Hola Arepa has a great atmosphere and excellent food! A group of us went and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We were immediately acknowledged by our waitress who was diligent in keeping our cups filled and patient when answering our questions. We had the fried cauliflower, a mix of drinks, and various Arepas! We weren't planning on it but also went for dessert, the ice cream cookie sandwich was YUM!
ALL of the food was amazing, and the waitress was excellent. Definitely recommend this place for dinner.
Fahad Malek
Sitting arrangements is packed and very close to each other. Little overpriced.
Claude Harrington
check out the yuca fries they are awesome!
Micah Orsatti
Amazing gluten free menu (all of it!!). Great vegetarian/vegan options. Really fun beach vibe. Definitely recommend, especially for anyone struggling with eating out on a gluten-free diet.
Shruthi Ingarsal
They have a beautiful patio. Food and drinks were awesome and portioned right. They followed covid regulations and we felt safe eating in their patio. Would definitely go again to take advantage of the few more warmer days we have.
Rebecka Devlin
Food was awesome, drinks were fabulous, sauces were other worldly! Go!
Joey Papan
The food was amazing, flavorful, and plentiful. The staff was kind, considerate, and they even predicted my needs.
Food wise, 11/10 could not recommend enough, everyone in our party of 9 was happy.
The drinks, though, were awful. Asking everyone, all the cocktails were terrible, especially my coffee based.
Eat the amazing food and stick to beer.
Aaron Shaffer
The food at Hola Arepa is amazing - super flavorful and filling. Chimichurri sauce is my slice of heaven. Service is typically great as well.
My one major complaint is with regard to their seating system. It's time to join 2019 and do a cell phone alert system. Last night we were essentially held in place, waiting in cold temperatures for a 30 minute wait that turned into an hour. Meanwhile, there's a bar across the street we could have been to with seats open.
Please consider changing your system if you read this! If you don't want to accept reservations, please allow people a little bit more freedom to roam while waiting. Thank you.
Sue Falldin
Food was good. Had appetizers, chips with 3 salsas and yucca fries which were good. 2 of us had shredded beef and plantain arepa and 2 friends had the Cuban. Both were really good. It was storming out so it was a little exciting but the staff kept everything running smoothly.
leinadabork
Food was really good and fresh, but our waiter was amazing. I wish I could remember what her name was but she made the whole experience worth coming back to. I had the Cuban arepa which was delicious, I can't remember what my wife had but it was also delicious.
Steve Nugteren
Love the atmosphere. The drinks are strong and delicious. The food is also amazing. Everybody in our party of 8 was extremely happy with their meal. I got the pork and sweet potato arepa which I would highly recommend!
Alana S
Second time here - LOVE THIS PLACE! Our server didnt seem super friendly or enthused, but I'm not sure I even care the food and drinks are that good.
John Chase
So, so delicious. Food came out really fast, despite it being very busy! Has great outdoor seating. The arepas were so good, I kind of ate myself sick.
Isaac
Always try something different whenever I go there and never have I been disappointed. One of the best places to eat in Minneapolis.
Santiago g
A friend of us gave us a gift card for this place for our wedding, my wife loved the space and the food was Amazing, the service is perfect, we looked around at drinks other people were getting and it was art. The only thing we did not like was that since we sat outside it was nice when we sat but then someone forgot to turn on the heaters for a while and a few of us outside were getting a bit cold. Highly recommended, the arepas were awesome.
Sean Conley
Food is generally good. My Cuban was a bit too spicy, so hard to enjoy. Obviously that's a personal taste, but I usually don't find spicy things to be a challenge. Drinks were great, and the place is nice and cozy. Definitely try it out.
Britta
Really great food and atmosphere. This is the only restaurant I have eaten at since COVID and I think their precautions are great! I feel safe when I'm there to just relax, eat delicious arepas, sip cocktails, and enjoy time with my partner.
Annie Shao
The food was delicious and very filling! The flavors were great, and things weren't overly salty. We would have loved to try dessert, but we were too full from our main courses. The food also came really quickly for a busy night. The only downside to this place is because it was so busy, it was pretty loud and hard to hear even someone sitting next to you talking.
Trieste Oatis
I took my sister here for the first time on her Birthday and she loved it! Atmosphere was cool and like the different levels of spice you can choose for salsa. Lots of flavor on a small plate and well put together.
Christina McLewin
We love this place! The menu is almost all gluten free, which is a bonus, and everything was delicious. We will be back soon.
Erin Grady
Went hear yesterday with my husband and a couple friends. The salsa selection was fantastic and they were all amazing! I especially liked the habanero one. Got the beef and plantain arepa and it was delicious. I only wish it had more plantains. All the cocktails were so delicious. I highly suggest the Mercado. We had the horchata dessert and it was exquisite too.
Jessiclaire Wolf
The tropical esthetic is charming! 🌿
Thank you for being GF, vegetarian and vegan friendly. My cocktail was adorable and the food delicious. …
Rachel Sporer
This place is delicious! I've lived near here for only 2 months and have already eaten here 3 times 😂 it's a good value for the price. I've gotten something different every time and they have all been good, as well as the cocktails I've tried. It's also a blessing to vegetarians because there are multiple entre and appetizer options. The food comes out quickly too!
The only reason I'm doing 4 stars instead of 5 is because it can be hard to get a second drink after you're done with the first (long wait/ sometimes they never ask)
Ashley Burkhardsmeier
Arepa flavors are amazing! Cocktails are super tasty too!
They have definitely figured out how to keep their customers feeling safe during the pandemic! Great work and awesome system!
JRob Zetelumen
Excellent food. Crowded, noisy, challenging parking, but excellent food. Overall, the negatives generally outweigh the positives, but if I was within walking distance, I would probably choose to eat there during their slow times. They are healthier than the average restaurant
Roselin Berg
I have been to Hola Arepa several times. My last experience was in June 2017. We had a family reunion and 20 people went there for dinner. The service was absolutely amazing! I don't know how that wait person kept everything straight. The cocktails were to die for... and the food was delicious and beautifully plated. The Arepa's are so yummy. They have a wonderful selection to please any pallet. Give them a try, you'll be back.
Rebecca Mazza
The food and cocktails are very good. The salsas are very good, the yuca fries are amazing, and the arepas are so fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable as well. The ambiance and service are lacking. It took way too long to get cocktails and appetizers.
Angela Firnstahl
The food was delicious and the service was great! I appreciated being able to make a reservation ahead of time (and specifically for outdoor seating) and that the staff all wore masks.
Alex Golimbievsky
Not over-hyped in the least. Their Arepas are incredible. Their fried chicken and cachapas (corn pancakes) were outstanding. Their fried plantains will knock your socks off.
Top it all off, their service is ridiculously fast and attentive.
Instantly one of my favorite restaurants in Cities.
401 K PB Plan
Food and Service is great!
They seem pretty cheapish on napkins, sugar, and charge $1.00 for guacamole. Also, we asked for salt and brought a bottle with very little salt in it. If you ask for extras, they accommodate customers requests. However, customers should not have to ask for these very basic items considering the high prices for the food.
If you like guacamole be ready to pay more for your food!
Roger Fried
Very tasty food and a very professional handling of Covid with attractive patio seating. We love the yucca fried and the sauce that goes with them.
The cocktail seemed a bit watered down though.
Kathryn Anderson
Great food, great service. We sat outside as part of an effort to get as much time in the sun as possible during the warm months. Came for brunch on Saturday. Showed up a little before they opened and there was a small group already gathered, but we were quickly seated and there was no delay on service. The food was well seasoned but not terribly spicy. So, my Minnesotan friends, do not fear. The food is primarily corn based so the menu is very gluten free friendly.
jacksonkhinck
Come here every time I'm in the area and will continue to come back. Great atmosphere, great staff, WONDERFUL food. Just had the Arepas Benedict for brunch and it was the best breakfast I've had all year. Thank you for everything, especially being celiac friendly for my fiance. Had our first date here and will always come back for special occasions, anniversaries etc.
Aaron Stine
Very tasty food. I've liked everything from Hola Arepa except the yucca fries...not a fan of yucca so this is a personal thing. Usually a fine tap list but can be limited. Staff is either incredibly friendly or oddly off-putting.
Trudy Kelberg
My friend and I decided to wander over here as she just moved into the neighborhood with no idea of what to expect. We were delightfully surprised! The food was amazing, the drinks were fun and potent, and the service was like lightning speed! The place was slammed when we got there, but we quickly got a table and it felt like we had our food not even 10 minutes after ordering it. Highly recommend.
Sarah Barnett
Huge outdoor patio area. Great menu with several vegan and vegetarian options. Chips and salsa are a great start as are the arepitas. The Indeed beer which is made specifically for HOLA is citrusy and refreshing - perfect for a summer day.
Steven Price
Went twice in two weeks. Once for dinner with my parents and family. Had something described as "Ecuadorian stir fry" was amazing. Just the right amount of spicy and v flavorful. Had the medianoche for brunch and it was just as amazing. Small place, typically busy w fast service.
Ruthiye g
This is a gold mine and a diamond in the rough. Delicious food!! Fun drinks!!! Went here for a first date and I was so impressed. Fun atmosphere. Sat at the bar outside and it was such a good time. Check this out, all of you! Delicious food and it came so quickly. Great servers too.
elisabeth oh
Came for brunch close to their opening so we were lucky that there was no wait. Although there is a parking lot, it fills up rather quickly so you might also want to look out for close street parking.
Very cool patio scene and lots of tables, although the church pew benches for booths serve more functional than as comfortable seating.
The servers were very friendly and provided numerous refills before we even had to ask. Good food too! I can understand why it's popular!
Michael Ableiter
Cheers to Hola Arepa for an outstanding evening! Easily made reservations for a group of twelve and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We sampled many of their offerings and were impressed by the delicious food and hospitality. Prices are reasonable and you’ll leave planning your next visit back. If you’re planning an evening out with a large group or just you and your bestie, give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!
Brian Van Grunsven
I'm a seafood restaurant kind of guy. Weird that I live in the Midwest, yes. That being said, Hola Arepa is by far my favorite restaurant in the twin cities. Amazing drinks and food served from heaven. Most of all, the employees are genuinely nice and caring people. Love that joint!
Glenda Mello
I ordered the black bean and queso arepa and I was a bit disappointed, maybe if you are a meat-eater the arepas are better. The drinks are also overpriced, I ordered a sangria for nine dollars and the cup was honestly the size of a juice box and half ice... Their covid-19 precautions are on point tho
Amy D
Loved my sweet potato black bean arepa and the seasonal sangria. Something for everyone—good gluten free, vegetarian, vegan options, inventive cocktails, and a kids menu. Quick service, kids items were brought first which is awesome. One of my favorite places to eat when I’m in the area!
Megan Noel Johnson
Came for brunch on the patio and everything, but especially the cachapas blew my mind! A new favorite since my best friend is gluten free and almost the whole menu is GF
Giffard Hodgson
We also shared the cauliflower small plate. It was so much more than, as named, "cauliflower". There was roasted cauliflower and potatoes and sliced radishes sitting in a pool of delicious, creamy sauce. I also have a hard time eating here and not having some sweet plantains, so I was happy that I was able to order some on the side. A perfect amount and suggestion from the waitress.
Jeremiah Dittmann
Love this place. The food and cocktails are always on point. Great prices as well. The food always comes out of the kitchen quickly and the service staff is fun, friendly and knowledgeable. The interior is busy yet cozy at the same time. Expect a wait though. Neighborhood gem.
david williamson
Food was very good but hostess made you feel like she was doing us a favor serving us. there is a 20 percent tip that is auto included in your bill. I usually tip 20 or better but not for bad service.
Brita Rust
Awesome food. My husband and I both got arepas and enjoyed them thoroughly. He took a bite of his sweet potato and pork and stopped in pure, surprised pleasure at the taste. We love something with a little different flavor and complex tastes. This place hit the spot.
Matt S
Holy cow the food is amazing. The corn meal was nice and light on the inside with a bit of a crisp outside. The food was flavorful and rich and the service was excellent. Our server, Jakub, was incredible. Quick, attentive and with an awesome personality. He complimented the food with an excellent customer experience!
Christina Lund
It's a hip place. The food is okay and feels overpriced. The drinks are fun, but again, overpriced. Service was great and I appreciate that they just build in the tip. Overall, I'm glad I went, but I probably won't be going back.
Steven Hartman
Hola Arepa never disappoints. Their preparedness and awareness of Covid-19 was on point. Felt safe and clean. On to the food...amazing! We got arepitas and chips and 3 salsas to start. Arepitas a lighter, tastier version of jalapeno poppers. The rice bowl was outstanding! The black bean arepa, though not my favorite, was still good and the Yuca fries were delicious as usual. Outdoor patio seating has been expanded and was wonderful on a sunny summer night.
Wanted to add that we did takeout recently during a Nov dining restriction and it was still awesome! Pork Arepa is my fave, yuca fries again and another bowl. Obviously food never travels as well as when it's fresh on your plate dining in, but it was as good a takeout experience as we've had since the pandemic started.
Jason J. Ross
I finally tried this place after years of walking by it. We each had a different arepa, and they were both super delicious. Although my favorite part of the meal was actually the chips and salsa with guacamole. All three different salsas that they give you are all amazing, the guacamole was very good and fresh. Will definitely go again.
Shelby Edwards
Hadn't been here in forever because I remember it being overly crowded and ridiculous waits for tables. Was pleasantly surprised by today's visit as we had no wait, even with the addition of two small kids in tow. Waitress was extremely accommodating and didn't seem annoyed even when one child got sort of antsy. Fun visit on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I really enjoyed my drink too - lavender infused vodka deliciousness.
Stacie Zaffke
All the food I've had here (brunch and dinner service) is simply delicious. The Cheetos brittle is delightfully weird and so yummy. I like their cocktail menu, and we've had some really thoughtful waiters. This place is a gem.
Hanna Gilsvik
Fantastic spot. One of my favorites in the twin cities. Great cocktails with a frequently changing menu, good music, beautiful, colorful space and currently very safe COVID protocols for dining in. Love everything about this place & their sister restaurant, Hai Hai.
Doug Adelmann
Excellent brunch! Loved the fried chicken and cachapas with chipotle butter, bacon and maple syrup.
My wife had the breakfast cuban arepa and loved it as well.
Felt very safe with the distancing and their Covid protocols.
Robin Thomas
We live within walking distance of Hola Arepa, and are so lucky! Everything I've had here has been delicious. Their cocktails are really fantastic, and I could eat their chips and salsa/guac all day long. My only advice would be to get something other than their yucca fries: they're good, but basically taste like french fries, so be adventurous and get something else!
Nima Ahmadi
I love their classic braised pork arepa with yucca fries or their rice bowl with braised pork. Their veg Brussel sprouts were also really good; will be getting again. Really good curbside service and precautions during Covid - much appreciated!
Mark Sanders
high quality food which I love! great job!
Arthur J. Mortega
Excellent food, it all tastes great for a great value. The staff is also extremely friendly and quick with service. As for someone from out of town, I felt welcomed. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a chill place to grab some food along with some great drinks.
Lauren Samani
I am from originally from Miami, FL where there is a huge latin population. This place made me feel right at home! The food, so fresh and full of flavor! I will be back!
Nate Lockett
I have been coming to this place since it opened. Service usually is good. I have always told people this is the best restaurant in Minneapolis. As of late the food hasn't had it's wow factor and I'm not able to tell people this is the best place to eat. I'm not sure what's been happening but the the last 3 times we have ate there the food has just been so-so. Hopefully it turns back to it's old self. Great gluten free options(almost the entire menu) alot of vegetarian options as well. Drinks are always incredible. Hola Fashioned is my favorite. The Cuban is one if the best sandwiches I have ever had. Yuca fries are usually amazing as well.
Andres Sanchez
The customer service and the looks of this restaurant are what makes this restaurant a great place. I started with the arepitas and an appetizer and they were delicious. Can't say the same for the main dish which was a vegetarian Arepa. The food is not bad at all, I was just expecting to eat something Venezuelan and this is not Venezuelan food. Other than that, great place!
Caleb Nicholson
Hola Arepa has a smaller menu, but they execute flawlessly in my experience. It is always busy, but once you're seated the food comes fast. The yucca fries are done to perfection and the ingredients balance well in the Arepas. Because of it being so busy, the atmosphere always feel lively, but not overwhelmingly loud.
Hannah Kaney
Hola Arepa is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. My husband and I visit regularly and often get it delivered. Whenever a friend or family member comes to town this is usually where we take them since everyone always has a positive experience. Not only is the food incredible, but the vibe at the restaurant is great as well. You almost feel like you aren't in Minnesota and are somewhere much warmer! You cannot go wrong with any of the arepas and I always order the brussels sprouts as they are the best I've ever had. I'm also thankful so much of Hola Arepa's food is gluten free since my best friend cannot eat gluten so we always get Hola Arepa delivered when we hang out.

The food was phenomenal and I was happy to learn that the majority of their food was gluten free. Their house cocktails were delightful. Cleanliness and safety precautions were followed thoroughly. Attentive and pleasant staff.

I loved it. Every bit of it. If you like old fashioned , looks things in artistic way. This is the right place. I love those fries - euka fries. Awesome. These are so amazing. No words to explain. Best fries of potato family... Attaching menu . Enjoy . Have a look.

Drinks and food are very consistently delish, decent portions. Decent not great happy hour. Can be busy and crowded but if you don’t mind that... good! Good choices for GF/vegetarians. Excellent summer patio.
Crystal Vander Heiden
Fast, friendly service on a pet friendly patio to start with. Absolutely delicious food to top it off!
Sasank Gadiko
It is small cozy place, was packed on a Friday night. Drinks were great, enjoyed the Arepas. Chips with 3 different salsa is a must try. Service was really quick, need not wait long for food even on a busy night. Only complain is the tables are bit cramped.
Jim Hansen
The Most wonderful food! The fact that nearly all was GF blew me away. Fried Chicken was superb. Grapefruit cocktail delicious!
Ivy Bolthouse
Yum! We enjoyed our arepas a lot. The yuca fries are so delicious as well. They were speedy for curbside pickup, which we appreciated.
Devon Christensen
Delicious food and amazing drinks! The service couldn't have been better and our food was out unbelievably quick. Also the precautions they're taking because of the pandemic made me feel safe and comfortable.
Stephanie Davis
Always SO good. I'll still give them 5 stars but I've noticed since they started including the 20% tip automatically that service has been less attentive.
James Saint James
The drink was outstanding as well as food.
Aiki Coxhead
delish, vibey, arepitas starter was to die for.
Mary Steiner
Good food nice space outside of the restaurant with the heaters so it's not as crowded as it is inside felt safe to eat there and the service was great
Mike M
Great food. It's filling too. The chips are great, the salsas have good flavor, the x-hot salsa is wimpy tho, the Molotes have great flavor, and the arepa meals are more filling than I gave it credit at first. Decent cocktails as well. The Roasted Pork Arepa is a great entree to start with.
Rachel Arnold
Worth the wait on busy weekends, and a great escape from frigid fall temps on their heated indoor patio. The drinks were unique and went well with the arepas. The beef and plantain arepa is our go-to! And the yucca fries are So. Good. My mouth waters as I type. We took out-of-town family here and they loved it!
Lucas Peterson
I love Hola Arepa! Their food is fantastically flavorful that stands up the steady stream of tequila you're about to consume. I recommend their happy hour, and sitting outside if you can find a spot. Best enjoyed on warm summer days. 10/10 would visit again!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities! Hola Arepa has delicious food, killer cocktails and a unique atmosphere. The people who work at Hola Arepa are knowledgeable, kind and passionate about what they do. We had a conversation with the bartender all night during a busy rush shift but he took the time to chat with us. The people who own Hola Arepa are fantastic and do so much to give back to the community. I would strongly encourage a visit to Hola, you'll love the experience AND you'll know your money is going to a great place.

I had an amazing time trying out Arepas for the first time. I had the chimichurri chicken and the sauce that came with it was delicious with a mix of mild sauce and with their chips. My plate was clean in about 5 minutes. I dont dont like the mandate of having to put a mask on every time water gets refilled, food gets dropped off or any questions are had. The service was pretty decent. I feel like restaurants with a mandatory 20 % tip dont try as hard with the service because it's already expected. But none the less I'd come again and try more Arepas and maybe next time the desert. Ps I understand its political policy in MN to wear a mask at all times so it's really not their fault. So thanks for the great food and environment.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to for gluten free dinner. There salsa and dishes are absolutely incredible, they never let me down.
Bryce Carpenter
Really excellent food. That was rather invite as well. At least I don't know many places to get arepas. I sat on a rather nice patio and the service we got was quick and friendly. We had a group member that has Celiac disease and they dealt with that easily. In part due to the corn based nature of the food, but they also seemed well trained in it.
Emily Raulston
This is the place to go if you want to be absolutely crammed in with no escape accompanied by loud groups of hipster millennials. The colors were pretty, and the place has a nice aesthetic overall, but the prices are high for what you get, and the food generally lacked flavor. The server was super nice though!
Jonathan
Fast service and great food. Only been there once, and had the the arepa appetizer - ordered the pork and the chicken arepa, and they were both very tasty. It's kinda a hole in the wall atmosphere, has an outdoor patio that opens up to the restaurant bar. They could make it a little more classy if they would shine some lighting in certain corners and areas of the bar and restaurant, and this would be an inexpensive upgrade - not a huge deal, just saying it could be easily uplifted for little cost. Great experience and food otherwise.

Hola Arepa won out as the choice for Saturday date night and I couldn't have been more pleased that it did! This place is fantastic. Another food truck turned brick and mortar success! The entire menu is also full of Gluten free options too. My girlfriend and I both ordered the ham and cheese arepa. Literally might be my favorite new thing to eat! All I can say is go and try one for yourself. Arrived around 9:30 and only had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The overhead heater kept the patio nice and toasty for the wait. I look forward to trying to owners new restaurant. Hai Hai, very soon!
Matt Hallacy
The food is outside of my normal comfort zone but I haven't had a dish here that I didn't enjoy. The staff are friendly and seem like a diverse group, they also work well together, it feels like a well oiled machine, perhaps because of their food truck origins.
The Arepas come out *fast* so go ahead and order the tortilla chips with 3 sauce appetizer, try out the sauces and make an informed decision for the rest of your meal. They encourage ordering piecemeal so that nothing gets cold.
4/5 only because of the price. A vodka soda (ketel one) was about $9/drink.
Sheena Curry
Hola never disappoints. I ordered the Cuban arepa and my friend had the taco salad. Yum. The atmosphere is ways so upbeat and the service staff are always friendly. Parking is a bit of an issue at times as it is on the corner of 35th and Nicollet, but it is worth it.
Stanze Smith
Great space, lovely staff. Large portions, unique drinks. Location is odd and place is small but it is well operated. Price point is ok.
Caleb Trantham
I got curbside pickup and the staff was sure to wear masks and place the food in my trunk to minimize contact! The food was as good as I remember it from eating here in person, the aioli that comes with arepas and the yuca fries is my favorite part. Definitely a takeout favorite.
Jessica C
Busy place for brunch. Great service, but I would say the food and drinks are hit or miss. Everything was beautifully presented, but I thought the Michelada seasoning was missing something. Ambiance and decor were very nice and I would revisit to try other items at a later time, as it's a good hangout spot.
Emily Seller
One of the first restaurants we went to after moving to Minneapolis and we will definitely be back! The patio was incredible on a summer day and the food was even more incredible. I ordered the shredded beef and plantain Arepa which was served with yuca fries and I ordered the Wecking Ball cocktail. Both were delicious and I would get both items again. Our server was attentive and very friendly. We went during a very busy time and still were served our food quite quickly. Can’t wait to go back!
Arjun Berry
The Sweet Potato Arepa was good and so were the Yuca Fries with the aeioli, which was delicious. We did a curb side pick up and the service was safe and quick. Let's support our local amazing businesses like these!
R Nels
Fun atmosphere, get there early. We had to wait about 35 min, but the bar stretches around to serve people waiting! Solid selection for food, try as many different things as you can. You can always take home yummy leftovers.
Anthony Sinnott
The arepas are very comforting and flavorful. The fries and sauces are out of this world, order extra for the table! The cocktails and lemonades are fantastic as well.
Ashley Brooke
This place is my go-to for food and drinks when I want to treat myself. I can say with conviction that it's easily the best place to eat/drink cocktails in Minneapolis. The food and cocktails are splendidly unique and delicious. The service is fast and always with smiles on their faces, even when the place is packed. I love it here.
Nithya rajan
Amazing food and lovely place to go for brunch on a weekend. We love their patio seating which is dog friendly. Small menu, but everything is good. Wasn't a big fan of the churro which is more like a cake, but is apparently gluten free.
Marie
Excellent food, fun cocktails, quaint atmosphere. Will go back.
Hunter Schwietz (Form First)
This place was awesome!! Our server was great. The food was amazing. I got the rice bowl and my friend got the pork arepa. We also got the guava lemonade and the esquites. Every bite was absolutely exploding with flavor! Highly, highly recommend.
Allie Winjum
Hola Arepa is one of my favorite places in Minneapolis to eat! The happy hour is pretty good, but even if I'm paying full price, I don't mind because the cocktails and the food are amazing. Love the atmosphere too, especially in the winter, because it feels so tropical :)
Nico Dornemann
As I said after taking the first bite of my Cuban arepa, I don't think I can ever eat a burger again. Probably most delicious sandwich I've ever had. The corn griddle cakes are light and let the other ingredients shine, unlike a hamburger bun which just muddles everything. Amazing pork. Even the pickles were fantastic. Who knew yucca fries were so good. Get the aioli. Deeply satisfying, yet I didn't feel weighed down at all. You have to go here as soon as possible. And, considering the quality, the prices are reasonable.
Steph Lang
The food was okay. The drink that I got was quite strong, it was a little to loud for my liking, and we didnt really have the best server. Thankfully when we went we were able to get a parking spot in the parking lot. Their salsas are pretty amazing though. I had salsa verde and a chipotle one.
Monica Phomsamouth
This place is nothing to brag about!! portion are very small and the price are high especially where the location are. They say they take extra steps on Covid but the seating table was close to each other. The drinks are terrible and it’s like a kitty cup size! They even automatically charged the tips on your total bill😩 I probably won’t return here again.
Olivia G
delicious food, strong drinks, friendly service :)
Molly Kapping
Two words. Brussels sprouts. They have THE BEST Brussels sprouts in the cities. I could probably just order that and be happy. But then I wouldn't get to eat one of their amazing arepas or yuca fries. This is one of my favorite places in the cities and love the ambiance as well. The staff is also great, friendly and attentive. Can't recommend this place enough!
Lauren Johnson
Glad they offer takeout service during the shutdown and have a very orderly and safe way of bringing the food to you however it's more expensive and they seem to be slipping on the quality. We ordered one arepa with a side of yucca fries (came with three fries to be exact) and one arepa with a side salad (which just consisted of lettuce and dressing). Pretty expensive for what you get.
Gabe Farnsworth
The food here is great. Their signature dish, the arepa, is a corn flour pancake of sorts in which they pack the meat and vegetables. It's quite good, very filling. The drink selection is good - - definitely check out happy hour.
Emilee Wold
Everything is delicious! I had never had an arepa before coming here, but this is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants. The yucca fries are to die for. They change their menu every so often, but the chipotle chicken arepa was my fave.
Joaquin Muñoz
Tasty food, great service, and awesome atmosphere. Try the chips with salsa flight as an appetizer. You'll be glad you did!
PS: shout out for the great service. It was friendly, fast and attentive. Everyone was super nice and inviting 😁 …
Colin Waters
What can I say? One of the most unique and delicious restaurants in the twin cities. Some of the flavor combinations seem unlikely to succeed but without fail always do! If the delicious selection of Arepa's and other tasty treats wasn't enough, you have to sample one of their amazing and unique cocktails. If you haven't been to Hola Arepa yet, you're wrong.
Anna Dornick
The new cocktail list is so fun and flavorful! The la lulana and locked up abroad were my favorite. I’m always a fan of the bean and cheese empanadas as a starter and the service is so friendly. Great atmosphere and cool place just to look around. Thanks Emilee for the great service!
J
Pretty good food. No complaints really but it didn't wow me. Portions are decent. Service was good. Seems a bit overpriced. I much prefer going to one of the many places on Lake Street for a more authentic experience. It a great place for hipsters if you're into that.

The pork arepa is so dang delicious.
Their tortillas are freshly made and the sauces are a nice variety. You can ask for an extra serving of chips to lop up the sauces so you don't waste them. The hola sauce is a little sweet and tangy which was not so great for dipping the chips but was excellent on the arepa. Their spicy sauce is my hubby's favorite but too hot for this bland MN girl's palate.
Their yuca fries are decent but nothing outstanding.
The varieties of cocktails are fun. There use different flavors that work together to form refreshing, tasty, and unique drinks. If you prefer wine, the vino verde accompanies the pork arepa quite nicely.
Happy hour from 4-6pm is a great time to visit. You can save a couple bucks and not have to wait long for a table. This place is so good, and not so huge, you will likely not be able to sit down right away if you come closer to a regular dinner time, and there is no seating for a waiting area.
Finally, when busy it can get quite loud, especially in the porch dining area. Folks are talking and laughing so be prepared to join in the noisy banter with your dining party, or just quietly enjoy your culinary delights.
Amanda Thomas
I've have been so excited to try Hola Arepa for a while. Everyone I've talked to has had nothing but praise to say about it. But I think this place just isn't for me.
We made a reservation and were seated right at our designated time. The decor was super trendy. The service was phenomenal! Everyone was always filling our waters and checking up on us. There was a mix-up with one of the orders at the table they ended up making it right and comping it because of the extra long wait time. The drinks were handcrafted and worth the price.
The atmosphere was very loud. It's very hard to have a conversation without yelling, especially if you have more than 2 people at your table.
We ordered a round of chips and salsa(we did all the salsas) for the table. We were unimpressed with the majority of the salsas. None of them were spicy, and besides one the flavors weren't that impressive either. The chips on the other hand were great! Thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt.
I had the Tostada Chilaquiles. The presentation was impressive, but the flavors were just meh.
Nothing went severally wrong during our meal, we just thought this place might have been over-hyped for us.
Kezia Germ
Probably the best covid dining experience I've had- staff is really clear about what they expect from you to stay safe and they gave us a card to flip if we needed assistance so our waitress wasn't coming over more than needed. But as always, the drinks and food and ambiance were perfect.
Erin Huber
Highly recommend. They have absolutely delicious food. Many many gluten free options. Incredible drinks. Fantastic service and staff. Order the arepitas, so yummy.
Stacy Johnson
Delicious food but the service was bad. They have a sign you put up when you need service, but it still took someone over 10 minutes to help us after when put it up. And servers were walking back and forth past us several times so there’s no way they missed us
Nicole Moen
It was busy when I went there on a Thursday. Still only had to wait a little while for seating though. The whole experience was mostly nice and the food was great. I love that the food they cook with grows right around the perimeter of the outdoor patio. What I didn't love is that our waiter wanted to get rid of us near the end, even though at this point the place was less than half full, and took my plate even as I told her I was still working on my fries. It was my birthday dinner, if I wanted to stay there and enjoy myself and finish my fries and you guys weren't busy anymore, you should have let me stay.
Other than that it was awesome, just kind of rubbed me the wrong way at the end. Hope u have different wait staff next time.
Mariam Elhattab
The food was phenomenal!!!!! Really nice vibes and staff.
William Boland
Fun atmosphere especially if you're feeling Mexican/Hispanic inspired dishes but don't want low quality gut rot afterwards. Awesome drinks here too especially anything with tequila. The vibe is always fun here
Laura B
Super busy and noisy when we were there, but the food is awesome and the decor is adorable. I love all the air plants.
Seems like it would be less crowded in the summer when their outdoor section is open. There wasn't anywhere to stand while we waited without it.
burcin ozel
Big portions. Amazing service. Delicious flavorful meal. Get there early for brunch or you will wait. We were there at 1015(place opens at 10) and the parking lot and inside seating were already full. By 1045am there was a line out the door.
Jacqueline Nowak
I've been to Hola Arepa twice in about a year and have not experienced anything quite like it any other time. The wait staff is quirky, the decor is fun, and the food is excellent (especially on happy hour prices). They were out of the yuca they usually use for their fries the second time, so they subbed a not as good version which was disappointing, but the aioli served with them was still on point.
