I got a slice of pepperoni/sausage and a slice of the “garbage” (think supreme plus jalapeño) pizzas. The portions are generous (I should have ordered 1 slice). My first bite impressed me as the flavors are all fresh and the garlic crust offered a nice crunch with a burst of flavor. I preferred the pepperoni/sausage to the “garbage” slice. The wait time is minimal as the pizzas are already made. They just need to heat up the slice. They offer whole 18” pizzas too. My guess is that they take longer to prepare as they are made to order. The venue is modern and inviting, offering an upbeat vibe. The outdoor patio seating will be inviting when the weather finally warms up. It’s a great pizza option whether you want to eat in or take out.

A foodie account I follow on TikTok recommended this place, and it is well worth the drive. I like that you can order pizza by the slice or a whole pie. We tried slices of pepperoni, BBQ chicken and garbage and they were all delicious. We also ordered garlic cheese bread, which was good but hardly touched because the pizza slices were so large. If you crave a giant slice of NY style pizza, this place has you covered.

This is a solid top 5 NYC style pie! They have a dozen pies as slice options and also make full pies. We did the full cup & char pepperoni which was extremely greasy but spot on for what we ordered. The crust is perfect and the sauce and cheese was the correct amount and paired perfectly with the crust. I would have picked a less greasy option but was out voted. Only complaint in the dine in is the plates were the paper style which is fine but these were bottom of the barrel and with the grease from the pie soaked right through to the table. Will be back regularly for slices but for full pies will avoid the pepperoni due to the grease. Highly recommended!

This is hands-down the best NY pizza in the cities. This will go up in my top 5 favorite pizza spots ever. Staff was super friendly, place was very clean and new and the quality of their food was fantastic. I will definitely be back and will be worth the 30 minute drive it will take me to do so. Bravo, team ElMar, you guys are killing it in the pizza game and I’m glad you’re in MN!

True NY/Jersey pizza. I’ve been searching for pizza like ElMars for the last 7 years since moving from NJ - this is it! Wonderful cheese, sauce and perfect dough. Can’t beat the fresh pie & it’s great to be able to walk in a grab a slice. 10/10. Service is great as well!

And we haven’t gotten to the pepperoni. It’s the kind that cups and crisps for maximum deliciousness, each slice a chalice for fresh garlic oil 🍷 Boy, this pizza was an experience! ⭐️ Coming in second was the Chicken Parm. Herbaceous, sensatious, and utterly temptatious… 🤣 shoot, so good its messing with my vocabulary. This may very well be the best pizza I had in MN. To give it an honest review we had to go true "buffalo style" cup n char, cheese, and marinara that I will say is sweet in the way that you want it to be.. they nailed it by truly bringing an authentic NY taste to the State of Hockey. I'll definitely be back again and again. This photo is a slice from our take home 18in pizza. It's been 2 days, and I'm still thinking of this za.

First, when I picked up my takeout order, the staff was incredibly kind and sweet! On to the food, this pizza was phenomenal. The crust was amazingly chewy and the cheese and pepperoni were perfect. The fire oil was spicy and delicious! Highly recommend and I will definitely be a regular customer from here on out!

As a New Yorker myself I must say I am happy that I found this place. Its so hard to find a place that has the authenticity of an actual New York style pizza and the rice balls, amazing! Definitely coming back even if it's a 30 minute drive for me, well worth it!

I ordered the heavy Meat pizza well done and the Margherita regular and the cook did the opposite, so I paid $61.18 for 2 pizzas I'm not happy with. The Margherita is like eating a cracker with cheese and the meat pizza falls apart. It was a 45 minute drive just to be disappointed.

We got slices of the white pizza, bbq chicken, and sausage pizza. The white pizza and BBQ chicken were excellent. The crust is nice and crispy. The sausage was not very good. Lacking in meat and cheese. It was the end of the night and pizza was reheated in the oven. Not sure if they were worth the $6/slice at the end if the day. Would give it another chance but order a fresh whole pizza.

Finally! Legit NY pizza in Minnesota! I would put this up against the best pizzas I've had in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I love being able to order a slice or two. But don't miss out on the rice balls, garlic knots, heroes, or fried mozzarella. The ownership is great and are super accommodating (oh, and from New York! ) They care about every aspect of their food, all the way down to the implementation of a New York water machine for that real NY pizza crust.

This is our second time coming to El Mar's and it is seriously the best pizza I have ever had! I can't decide which toppings are my favorite so we always get half and half. The ranch is house made and it's amazing! We met the owner and he was very welcoming and extremely nice, he always talks to our little one and waves hi. If we could give this place 6 stars we would. I can't rave about this place enough! If you haven't tried it yet you're missing out. 10/10 Recommend!

ElMar’s has become our go-to pizza place! My husband is from New York and loves having somewhere that he feels actually tastes like what pizza is supposed to taste like. We typically get pizza and rice balls. Note that the sauce that comes with them is amazing but spicy! We recently had the Chicken Parmesan and were very pleased! Definitely get two meals out of it! Definitely recommend.

Really delicious! I've only been to NY once so I can't really vouch for if the pizza is authentic, but it seems to be. The sauce was the star. The aranchini were huge and so good, especially the spicy red sauce. The meatballs were disappointing, I would not recommend them.

This pizza is so good, it's made every other pizza I've had worse. I'm literally addicted now. Only downside is that the building is pretty small, so seating is very limited.

First order at ElMar's NY 🍕, I ordered the veggie pie with some alterations.. skipped the whole milk shredded cheese and went with fresh mozzarella, added a few more veggies and ham to half. The pizza sauce was tasty and overall good pizza. The crust was chewy yet soft in the middle and the middle of the pizza was soft to fold together to eat. Also ordered the boneless buffalo wings and liked the sauce, spicy and good. The pizza came to 37$ after my alterations, so probably a special dinner and very occasional treat. Overall I enjoyed the pizza and customer service was awesome and good vibes 👍😊

I went here today to pick up some pizza for dinner. It was actually a little hard to find as it is tucked in the back corner of a kind of out of the way strip mall. They serve slices here and whole pies. We also got a house salad from here. We got the half and half classic and meat pie. We also got a couple of single slices of chicken pesto and white pizza. All of this cost us about 55 bucks. It's a tad bit expensive but pretty good and one of the only places in mn to get a true New York style slice. Only other place that is just as good or better is broders in Minneapolis. I will say this the customer service here was awesome they were very helpful and informative....that gives them the edge over broders.

I just moved to the Twin Cities this summer and I haven't gone more than a month without ElMar's. Their pizza is stupid good and the sauce...wow. It should be illegal for it to be that delicious. Their housemade ranch with the dill........wooooow. I tried the arancini for the first time and they were so good. They always have the most delightful customer service, but this time really stood out. My whole household is sick, myself included. I didn't want to expose anyone by going inside, so I asked if they could just place it in my trunk when I pulled up. They did, and the man who brought it out to my car was super nice and friendly! Food was amazing per usual, the only member of my family who was unhappy with it was Biggie Smalls, who was mad he wasn't allowed to have any.

I had some of the best pizza I have ever had here! My fiancé and I were looking to get pizza, stumbled across this place on Google here and boy are we happy we did! The pizza was PHENOMENAL! We had a pepperoni pizza (their style pepperoni that's crunchy and smaller), garlic oil drizzle and parsley on top and it was magnificent. Even delicious cold the next day! We also had the cheese bread, which was delicious too. If you haven't tried it, it's worth it!

Mmmm mmm good pizza. Went for lunch and had pizza by the slice. Many options of your basics (think pepperoni/sausage), and also a number of other super options (bbq chicken, white pizza, etc…). The Hawaiian was excellent. Crust and sauce great tasting. Slices are about $6 but very generously sized. Less than 10 min wait for pizza to be warmed before it hit our table. I’ll be back for more!

I've been meaning to go here for a while for New York style pizza by the slice. My wife and I ordered three slices of pizza and the garlic bread with cheese appetizer for lunch. That was a lot of good food. As baked for serving hot after ordering, the slices were less foldable than some I have had in New York, but we enjoyed the food and we will be back to try other dishes. ElMar's fits the Tyler Cowen principle that a restaurant with a simple, out of the way strip mall location (impossible to see from major streets in ElMar's case) is a restaurant with good food worth looking for.

We have been eating our way through the pizza options and it's never disappointing! The meatball pie and the margherita are a personal favorite. The sauce is super flavorful (I recommend asking for extra if you're getting the rice balls--or any appetizer), and we recently saw you can get "fire oil"--essentially chili oil--on the side if you're looking for a little extra heat! Absolutely the best pizza I have had in years!! Crust is amazing, true NY style and cut to be folded as you should. The perfect amount of sauce and great flavor of sauce, which is where most places loose me - the sauce. We ordered the meatball pizza - exceptional!! It's a new place so there are a few bugs the owners need to work out. Yes, I was there on 6/26 when they had to turn people away and stop taking online orders, but they are new with all new staff. I am certain once they get everyone in sync with the ebb and flo of a fast paced kitchen it will be that much better. They have a great start with excellent tasting true NY style pizza!

Fantastic little spot to grab delicious pies, salads and apps. They even have a short wine and beer menu. This place is excellent and arguably this is the best pizza spot in the entire area- all the way to the cities. Heck it’s the best I’ve had in Minnesota since I love an authentic NY style pizza. The owner is amazing. Service is fast. Get a pie or get slices. The white pizza is incredible. The crust is amazing.

Recently had my first pizza from El Mar's (Garbage Pie) and it absolutely lived up to all the good reviews I had heard. I could see the online ordering being a little cumbersome for some customers but I was able to navigate it and set my pick up for 'Later'. My pizza was hot and ready within minutes of my selected pickup time and it easily fed myself and two other adults. Initially, I had hesitated based on price but given that it covered dinner for three it's well within reason for what you'll spend on any dinner out. The pizza itself was excellent.

This is probably our new favorite pizza place! We drive from Brooklyn Park just to get it. Last night I was picking up my pizza and was carrying my daughter - without a beat the woman behind the counter offered to help me bring my pizza to my car!!!! I had to park father away and she was so kind, she even put it on the seat for me while I buckled my kiddo in her car seat. Such genuinely nice people and the pizza is absolutely delicious!!! Been here 4-5 times and have yet to have anything I didn't like. Slices are $4-6 each and take about 3-5 minutes in the oven, but are big. It's far from traditional, but the only thing I wish they had was a curry slice, like the buffalo chicken one, but with butter masala instead of buffalo. Either with chicken or paneer.

NY style pizza was delicious! We ordered specific toppings on each side of the pizza- somewhat complicated order and they got everything right! Veggies were fresh, and it was ready on time. Next time we may get a bunch of slices so we can sample more flavors. Everything looked so good!

Probably the best NY style pizza in the Twin Cities. They seen to use higher quality ingredients than Andrea's in Minneapolis, but it is $5-6 a slice which is a little pricy in my opinion.

The pizza here is so delicious! Honestly the best I have had in the Minneapolis area! Reminds me of pizza in up state New York. Perfect crust, fresh sauce and great cheese and toppings. My favorite is pepperoni with mushrooms and then also getting a slice of their white pizza on the side. Highly recommend for a great New York style pizza!

This place has fantastic pizza and this is New York style with huge slices. They’re not floppy but very formidable. The pepperoni was spicy enough to be interesting but punitive. The sausage pizza was flavorful. The crust was delightful. We’ll be back!

Best pizza ever!! Vegetables were fresh, all toppings evenly divided. Gentleman came out and said our pizza wasnt up to the quality they expect and remade. He apologized and said it would be up in a minute.. Sevice, food and atmosphere outstanding. We will definately be back.

As a person that was born and raised in NYC, I can actually say that ELMar’s NY Pizza is far exceeds the old “cliché” when it comes to others shops claiming to make an actual NY style pizza. ELMar’s has taken every pizza I grew up on in Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, and my hometown of Queens (Howard Beach) and brought it to Plymouth/Maple Grove. Form the dough, sauce, size, and crust, I can’t say 1 single negative thing about it. The pizza is so good that I have only been here a week and out of the 6 days they are open, I ordered it 5 times. Trust me when I say; you won’t find a better pizza in the state of, Minnesota. I will say that I can’t wrap my mind around the whole ‘no phone number thing’. It really boggles my mind why anyone with such a great product would not want to allow their customers to be able to call in an order by phone and what’s up with the hours of operation.. why would you close at 8pm on the busiest pizza days of the week being Friday & Saturday?? I *was* going to give 4/5 because price for a slice seems a tad bit high, but I can't....the pizza is just too freakin' delicious. The classic cheese is $5 a slice. On my order the cut must have been a bit too small for their standards as they gave me a free second one, which I appreciate. Lots of options. Clean interior. Kind staff. Place is a bit hard to find/enter, but be sure you do go there, it'll be worth it!

Moving to the Twin Cities from NY 40 years ago and watching Minnesota go from meat and potatoes to a Mecca of cuisine the one thing that has never been equaled is NY style Pizza. Not complaining about Pizza Hut or Domino's, or the many other locals.I mean crust, sauce, cheese, tomatoes, pepperoni, sausage is always a good combo, but IT'S NOT NY PIZZA. The real Foodie's know the secret to NY Pizza is the water from NY used for the crust. Elmar's knew that and spent the time and money to reverse engineer the minerals in NY water to make their crust. Although not perfect, it's THE BEST NY PIZZA I have ever tasted in the Midwest. The crust was good, not cracker based, the cheese was excellent, the pepperoni and sausage was authentic, and the sauce was good, just missing that hint of garlic. You can even fold the slice to eat it, , i.e., John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever! Expensive, but this is a huge 18 inch pie, compared to Domino's large at 14 inches, almost 30% larger. Thank you ELMAR'S!

Avid pizza eater 10 years ago- not so much today. Thought I'd break my clean eating for some local pizza. Live right up the street and watched this place get built recently from the ground up. Today was the day to investigate. Tried slices of the "white" and "pepperoni". White was excellent and the pepperoni was the best I've personally ever had. So ElMar just shows up out of no where and takes the industry by storm? Just glad they chose Plymouth as home base.

This is really like the pizza I grew up eating in Brooklyn and Queens! The crust is perfect with the right balance of crispy and chewy. Exact amount of sauce and cheese. Drove 20 min to try this and I’m glad I did. Open up closer to the TCs!

Was disappointed that they dont have any type of kids meal. Also the glass they gave me for my wine literally had pizza grease all over it. We sat outside (for our safety) on a hot day & there is absolutely no shade out there. It would be nice if they got some umbrellas for their patio tables. Mozz wedges were great though!

Just went to the place yesterday and I've been in MN for about 10years now but I'm originally from the east coast....born in New Jersey but raised in Brooklyn and trust me I know good pizza....for years I've been looking I tried everything from Sal's on 5th, Sbarro, and even Deleo brothers pizza to try and find that home town pizza itch to get that taste of home....an although some have close....Elmars pizza literally brought my accent back lol...the NY watermaker machine is doing some wonders. The first time I came out here and ordered a pizza from scoreboard and got it cut in squares I thought, oh these MN people think they funny 😂😂...but I'm humbled and forever grateful to have found this place. The smiles and joy you brought to the faces of this Brooklyn kid and my lovely wife from queens has definitely created an unforgettable memory and we can't wait to go back.
