Enjoyed a lunch with our oldest here as he liked the Eli’s downtown. It didn’t disappoint as we all enjoyed different menu items including California burger, Pastrami, Mac and cheese, and tomato soup. All were very good and the service was very responsive and helpful.

Cute little restaurant and bar in NE Mpls. Sat at the bar and the service was great, usually is! I started with some not so bubbly sparkling wine but still tasted fine and we ordered a few small plates to get a taste of what they have. Taco was small but pretty good, love that you can order 1 or a dozen, the crab cake was more cake then crab with red pepper sauce, I prefer my crab cakes with more lump crab vs shredded crab that just blends with batter, and the not so creamy banana cream pie; it was more of a cheesecake style dessert, still tasted good just different then I was expecting. The bananas on top were delicious and worth fighting over!

What a fun little joint. Their menu is huge for both food and beverage options. If you want to opt in for a fun cocktail, they have a wide variety of options for whatever you’re in the mood for. I opted for a sandwich and gin and tonic and was not disappointed. Our server was funny and the booths were extra comfy. They had yummy brunch options too! Everything was great.

The scallop pasta dish, the special, wasn’t anything special. The spaghetti was over cooked and the sauce wasn’t reduced enough. I think the scallops were from a frozen seafood special. I ordered a boulevardier, but was too campari heavy. The atmosphere was great! I should have taken my friends advice and ordered the chicken marsala.

Eli's always delivers! Nowdays I don't tend to go out as much as the costs have risen so much. I don't mind opening up my pocketbook at Eli's tho. The prices are very reasonable for what you get: a little upscale, but not fussy. Just solid food. I get either the walleye or steak sandwich. They also have a good martini menu which I order from time to time. The restaurant has mostly tall, comfortable booths and a few tables. I like how quiet and intimate it is. Good for date night.

Always good food and great service. Don't sleep on the weekly specials, they're always solid and interesting. Extra points for serving the full menu until 11, not many options late night in the area. Our regular server, Jake, always takes great care of us.

So the only reason I took a star off is because I just don't love a lot of the offerings on their menu, but everything I have had is very good. I went with an appetizer this time, the filet mignon. It was prepared perfectly and very delicious. The servers are especially good. I keep going there because every time I have something it is good, but I just don't feel like there are a lot of options on the menu that work for me. That is completely a me problem, and you shouldn't worry about it if you want to go there. It's a great place.

Great food, great drinks, quality atmosphere (whoever was playing music tonight was on point), and we had a fun server to boot! We will definitely be back! My boyfriend ordered the Eli's Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, and I had the Vegetarian Eggplant sandwich with a side of Tomato Basil soup.

We tried Eli's East on a whim about a month ago, and I'm so happy we did! We've been here three times since! Delicious food with a great variety of selections, friendly and attentive staff, and a nice atmosphere! Definitely a new family favorite! Can't wait to visit again!

Eli's is the neighborhood restaurant and bar that everyone wishes was in their neighborhood. Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff, late night hours, and bar seating. On top of that, their (mostly) made from scratch menu changes weekly, so there's always a handful of new options.

Always a great experience. Lovely aesthetic and atmosphere, great welcoming, attentive staff. We left one NE restaurant in search of brunch and Eli's definitely provided. Great Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Currently a seasonal raspberry and saffron mimosa was really good. Partner's steak Benedict -med rare was amazingly perfect. My brunch salad with fresh tomatoes, balsamic, fresh mozz, just right crisp prosciutto, and perfectly done poached egg was beyond expectation.

What an amazing late night place for great food and real drinks. We went with friends following a show and had late night fare and a drink or two. The service was outstanding. Definitely a top spot for dinner and drinks in Minneapolis. Order the sushi grade tuna appetizer as an entree you will not be disappointed.

Always love Eli's East. Enjoyed the patio and delicious food and drinks. New York strip steak with onions and mushrooms with cheesy gouda potatoes. The sandwich is an unexpected combination of salmon, asparagus, carmelized onions and swiss cheese on toasted caraway rye bread. With their delicious jicama slaw.

Eli’s is a neighborhood favorite! Food and drinks are always solid, the patio is a fun hang and beautiful in the spring and summer. They also have a parking lot which isn’t always a given in the city. I’ve been many times and never had a bad experience here. Take out is a nice option in COVID times, as well. I’m so glad they’re back open!

The location is nice and central with surprisingly good parking for the area. The building is likewise surprisingly spacious and the booths are fantastic. The cocktails were a bit pricey for the amount served, and the food was above average, but the real winner was the desert. I even helped my partner finish the cheesecake I had and I never normally take more than a nibble of desert. We will be back to try some other offerings in the future.

This is my new favorite Brunch place. The food is good, the coffee is pretty decent, and perhaps most importantly you can reliably get seated right away! My only wish is that they had pancakes on their brunch menu. Excellent service too by the way.

The place was nice, however in the large seating room it's very dim lighting so it's difficult to see the menus. Some of the food was not as good I ordered the meatloaf and it didn't taste really good to me. My husband ordered the chicken dish and he loved it overall experience was nice I just have to be selective on my food choices there. The fish tacos was a hit we love them. Overall I would try the place again

We would call ourselves regulars! My husband and I live in NE and we love biking here. They always have a great beer and cocktail selection. We love the rotating specials menu every Thursday. The food is always full of flavors and very consistent every time we come. There are many vegetarian options and they can even accommodate vegans in a few dishes. The servers are kind and top-notch.

I love coming here. It's one of our go to when we're in the cities. Super comfy and the food here is great. All the servers are amazing. Have not had a bad moment here. Love the cheese platter because it's such a great appetizer before your meal. I'm sure it pairs great with their wines, as well. My SO loves their pastrami hash.

Smaller place but quite a bit of seating along with bar seating against one wall. Looks to have live music at times, decent drink selection too. Menu has a few regular items and a few specials along with a weekly specials menu. Price is in line with what I had and it was out reasonably quick, was hot, and was very tasty. I ordered the egg sandwich with the in house chips. Staff was friendly and for our table of 5 all orders were correct and out at the same time. They have at least 2 tables that can easily hold 6 people and maybe 8 if you sit real close. Recommend to stop in and try it out.

If I were to describe Eli’s East in one word, I would choose solid. I live very close, so I end up here quite often and am never disappointed. Their burgers are some of the best in the city. My favorites are the black and blue and truffle burger. They have weekly specials that keep things fresh and interesting. The patio is spacious and welcoming. It’s a great spot to spend an afternoon. They always take good care of my dogs when they join us. Inside is cozy and comfortable. Brunch is wonderful. I live the tomatillo Bloody Mary. It almost tastes healthy. Just a great, everyday neighborhood spot!

It was yummy. I ordered bacon and it was cooked just right and tasted really good. It had a little bounce and didn't crumble. I think it must have been organic. My mom let me order an orange drink. It was good but not as good as bacon. The waiter was really nice. He brought my food first. Maybe because I was excited. I hadn't eaten there before. It was busy but we found a seat. The seat was open and comfy. I'd go back here for bacon and toast. I'd sit outside. They have a fairy door in the parking lot and a place for plants.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the cities. The service is always great, but if you are lucky enough to have Jake as your server you have hit the jackpot. Their weekly rotating specials are always unique and not to be overlooked. if you see something you like, get it because you may not see it again. I had a lamb gyro burger from their specials once and haven't been able to find anything to match it since.

Free parking. Easy going atmosphere. Solid brunch and lunch choices on the weekend. Started with the Salty Dog cocktail which got things rolling. Pastrami hash was one of the best - not dry, perfectly braised. Complimented with multi-grain toast. The California burger was solid - hand-formed patty with avocado, lettuce and tomato. Ask for homemade bbq sauce which made the tater tots even better. And Stacy, our server, was awesome in letting us know what's good and what's great. She was spot on with recommendations and her service. Great place in Northeast!

Smallish restaurant/bar tucked in a location you mind not think about, but always worth finding! Daily specials accompany their regular menu. The decor is warm and kind of clubby chic. Food is medium range price, but always delicious. Soup, salad, pasta, steak, seafood, burgers--they do it all. Love, love Eli's!

I came with a group for a Sunday brunch. Maybe our experience was not representative of the usual one, but I don't think I'm going back there again. The food was good, but nothing special. The service left a lot to be desired, however. It took the waiter a long time to show up so we could order coffee, and even more for us to order food. The brunch was served almost an hour after we sat. One of my orders was a cinnamon roll, but by the time the food arrived, they had run out of it. They gave us complimentary corn fritters, which was a plus, but they were also not particularly tasty. If you're looking for a weekend brunch, my experience tells me that you should look for other places in this area.

A good place with a nice atmosphere. Menu was great and our main courses were good. Avoid the chili though. Too dry. A big lump in my bowl. Looked like something was freshly run over on the street outside and scooped up to put in the bowl.

Must try the chop salad with homemade green goddess dressing, it’s one of the best and salads I’ve had in my life! Lots of other great things here, can’t wait to come back. Eli’s east gets my highest recommendation!

Service was outstanding, the place was clean and it has a cool, inclusive vibe. I ordered the Penne Cheese Pasta and I was disappointed. I asked for the half order, which is pretty small. I don't mind smaller portions, but usually, less in quantity - to me- means higher quality. The dish overall was dry and pastey. It probably didn't help that it came out poorly warmed. We've never been here and thought we would try something different. I hate going to Minneapolis and had at least hoped for a memorable dining experience. I'm not including any opinions of the other 5 guests as they should do so themselves. AGAIN, the hostess was exceptional. The kitchen fell flat, in my opinion. I would need to be pressed to risk a second visit.

We have been to Eli's in NE a few times and always have a pretty good experience. Service is always pretty good and the ambiance is something we enjoy. Food has always been from good to great but is inconsistent. My husband has had the same dish multiple times and something is always a little off (a little too salty, a little undercooked), but still tasty enough to keep ordering. I have had both of their chicken dishes and would say they are both OK. Mild in flavor, would maybe order one of the again if I was in the mood. The Marsala is a broth type sauce with peppers instead of the creamy mushroom sauce I was expecting. Their sandwiches are very good, I would recommend the steak sandwich, it is fantastic. Overall solid dishes that are a bit more upscale than your standard NE bar at a reasonable price- I would recommend to check it out!

Been here a few times. Never been disappointed. Tap selection is varied and has something for everyone. Pastrami sandwich is amazing. I prefer the jicama slaw, but normal with the coleslaw is just fine. Weekly wing specials are hard to go wrong with. No idea the names of my bartenders. But I've never had a bad one so names aren't that important. Elevates bar food. Don't expect gourmet but after the college bar scene this feels like a restaurant with a bar and not the other way around.

Their vegetarian special of the week during our visit was a killer veggie party melt. My wife's been a vegetarian for 8 years and tonight that was the best veggie sandwich/burger she's ever had. The service, ambiance and food are all outstanding. Good luck picking something to eat - everything is excellent!

Wonderful weekly menu on the blackboard updated consistently with new entree, appetizer, salad, soup, sandwich, wines, etc. etc. Return regularly and have never left anything less than totally satisfied. Great food, great staff. Also, the abnormal amount of attractive waitress could single handedly a reason to make this your new brunch spot.

I am impressed with and pleasantly surprised by Eli's East. I was expecting diner or bar food. And although the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired, the drinks and entrees are creative and well-executed. Other than our server, who was also the bartender, not being very attentive, I really enjoyed my experience here. The pistachio cheesecake is a must!

Good place for everything. Lots of GF and organic things on their menu. The cocktails are decent here, and they keep a respectable amount of local beers on tap. Additionally, their kitchen stays open later, so it's good for a late snack! (Don't let the "dive-y" outside look fool you; Eli's East really is top-notch!)

My husband and I went here for the first time last night, we can't believe we waited this long as we have been to almost every spot in NE! Amazing food. A must try - the Edamame slider!! Also, the Walleye tacos are good and spicy. And, the french fries are the same recipe, I swear, as McDonald's. Nice atmosphere, parking and good drinks too! Definitely will be back!!

Gawd I love this place. Really cool place to take a date. But what I really love is that they’re open late late late. I love stopping here on the way home from a night of clubbing. Eli's has a very nice but casual atmosphere. A variety of food options on the menu, something for everyone. I also enjoy their huge beer selection. If you're not into beer, they have delicious craft cocktails too!

I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere here for grabbing a cocktail, especially compared to its neighbor Legends. My personal favorite is the Cran-Man (rye whiskey w/ cranberries). I can't recommend the food here, however. I once ordered a steak medium rare and it came back well done.

This is a great place to stop in for atmosphere and a drink, or a hearty meal. They have everything from "Steak & Cake" (crabcake) to a healthy choice of vegetarian plates. Dessert options have good variety (pistatio cheesecake was a special when I visited this time) without being too pretentious. The bartender was fairly knowledgeable and didn't even wince when my young sister ordered her steak well done (sigh), it can be a little pricey at around $35 per person with a couple drinks each.

This place has some truly great chefs. I check out the New rotating weekly specials menu at least once a week (Just google elis east) and when I see a unique dish, go for it. I've had the best duck of my life here. Usually go for the black peppercorn steak or a seafood pasta. I've had one dish that was bad, and the bartender took it off of my bill when he realized I wouldn't eat it. So don't be afraid to be adventurous. You'll be very impressed 99% of the time.

Had the house-made pastrami sandwich--it's heavy on the slaw and light on the meat (for some reason I was picturing it stacked with meat). Once I got over that, I took off the soggy bottom bread piece and scraped of the slaw. The open-face pastrami sandwich was delicious. Slaw was good, eaten separately. Tater tots are also yummy when they come out fresh! Service, the few times I've been, is pleasant..

So I don't usually write reviews, but found myself talking about this place with a friend and felt compelled to write something. First let me say that everything that I have ever eaten here is AMAZING! I love it for dinner or brunch on the weekends. But I've kind of stopped going there recently because the service is so poor. Nearly every time I've been there, we've been served with attitude for simple things like asking for more coffee or bread. I've actually watched and listened as waitresses talk poorly of customers within earshot of... paying customers. I really do love this place, but only will go there when I feel up to putting up with the service.

I highly recommend for late night eats or a romantic date! Eli's East is absolutely the spot to go if you want a dark cozy restaurant with good food, and great service wrapped into a quaint, sort of romantic, candle lit environment. Oh did I mention that the outdoor fire place adds the perfect touch. I had an amazing experience at Eli's East (I can't wait to go back to see if it holds up or if it was a fluke). My husband and I went before a show at the Gutherie and on Friday night. There was no wait at 6pm, which shocked me, but was very convenient. They have a standard menu and also a ton of weekly specials, including a weekly soup, appetizer, chicken wings, salad, sandwich, pasta, entree, veggie dish, and dessert. We started with the half sized Marinated Tomato Salad with house-smoked mozzarella, grilled asparagus, marinated tomatoes, crispy prosciutto, mixed greens, balsalmic vinaigrette for $7. This was plenty large for 2 people to split before dinner and was delicious.They don't skip on the good parts of the salad and fill up your plate with sad lettuce - the portions were perfect. We both ended up ordering a pasta dish - me from the specials menu and my husband the East Pasta from the standard menu. Mine was so chocked full of veggies it was amazing. I got the half portion and was stuffed. His had no vegetables, but the sauce was very flavorful (rosemary I believe) and was plenty as a half portion as well. Our server was amazing - always seeing if we needed anything, clearing our table, refilling drinks, etc. I can't wait to try this gem again.

One of my favorite places to eat anytime of the day, especially awesome because the kitchen is open late! I've been coming here for 3 years now and haven't really found anything I don't like. The Steak and Cake is superb and the Penne and Cheese is some of the best mac & cheese in MPLS. Cocktails are always made to the highest quality and the service is usually top notch. I suggest to get the "Something Chocolate" dessert, it changes often but never disappoints.

After going to Elis downtown a ton of times then moving to NE it was time to give this spot a try. Decor wise, I actually love the vibe. The drinks that I got, a New Fashioned was made very well and tasted great. The food was also very good, although both mine and my wife meals were slightly undercooked. I had a huge pork ribeye so I can understand why it may have been a little difficult to get to medium in the center. My wife steak was supposed to be medium rare, but was rare. Overall, we'll definitely be back. Everything tasted great, just needed another minute on the grill.
