The seat yourself is very fitting for the restaurant, although as the customer it took a while for the server to come over. The drinks were small but good, whenever a refill was needed the waitstaff was quick to fulfil! The food was faster than expected and equally as delicious. The wings fell right off the bone and the tater tots were crisped to perfection. The classic Caesar salad was full of flavor and did not disappoint! The wait staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great on a Twins game day. We enjoyed the country music and the window seating. We will definitely be eating here again soon and encourage you to as well:)

The atmosphere was nice, very large establishment with tons of seating. Our waitress was great. I ordered the scorpion wings but they had no spice to them at all.the brussel sprouts were a disappointment also. The burger was ok I upgraded to the bison patty, it was pretty dry though. I probably wont go back.

It's a little meat-markety but the food is good and the bartenders are lots of fun. The whiskey selection is top-notch. The hours are pretty restrictive, that would be my only complaint. Haven't been there when there's music so I can't comment on that.

I really like their rooftop bar area. It can get really busy after the game. The $10 buckets Wings are pretty good! Fun place to watch people, younger crowd in general.

Wanted to try somewhere different before a Lynx game. Was not too busy on the Thursday evening, was close to end of Happy Hour and they did have a decent selection of items for HH. Service was ok, nothing special. The jalapeno cheese curds had some flavor but was hoping for a bit more kick. The kids cowboy joe was a bit sweet but probably so more appealing to the younger kids. The philly sandwhich was cooked well and had a balance of meat and veggies. The Lasso fries are different but would have been better with a seasoning like season salt or similar to make them stand 9ut a bit more. The avocado turkey wrap was a little heavy on the ranch dressing but had decent flavor. The tots were standard, not over or 7nder cooked which was nice. Overall the meal and such was ok, nothing stand out, nothing horrible.

Heck of a place. Not big country fans but we like Cowboy Jacks. The service rooftop was excellent. We ordered the Sirloin Tips (Great!) and Calamari (Not so great). The great server took it off the bill. Then, the manager chatted with us for details. Just great service! We will return.

Can't beat $2 domestics and rails for happy hour. Or $3 for game specials. $7 wing buckets on Tuesdays. Otherwise $9 for happy hour.

Great place to stop if you're in the neighborhood, or riding a pedal pub perhaps. We had a great time here the afternoon of my sister's bachelorette party. The bartenders were excellent, the drinks were strong. The rooftop is sweet.

The food was okay, and the drinks were okay. The service was very slow and we always had to wave down a server to get anything. It was the night of a Twins game though, so they were understandably swamped. Fun open western atmosphere, and a cool deck area on the top floor that overlooks the downtown area.

Stopped in before a twins game and it was busy! We had $9 white claws *gasp* but the food was very reasonably priced. Food favs: tator tot hotdish (mini), chips & queso, and wings! The service was slow, but very caring when she came around, we waited a long time after our food was dropped off.

We strolled in at about noon after drag brunch on a Sunday, it was quiet. We sat on the rooftop, it was a gorgeous day. Bartenders were super friendly. It was great for a few drinks and an appetizer!! Queso dip w/ beef (delish). I believe they can be crazy busy but I liked the quiet vibe! Will go back!

We went to this location for happy hour and when we arrived, were told that there is no happy hour at the downtown location. We did each have a drink and had some appetizers. The service was decent.. The drinks and food were fine, but we will not be going back to this location. Almost every other bar/restaurant has a happy hour, so we will find another place to spend our money.

It was subpar at best. The server seemed like she was having a bad day considering that my husband was asked if he wanted an appetizer just a few seconds after getting the menu. The host was kind but didn't really care to seat us. And my buger was tough. However with the selection of meat, it was expected. It was overall a 3 in experience.

I travel a lot. Been to bars in Las Vegas, Nashville, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, Kansas City, and New York. Cowboy Jack's in Minneapolis is the best bar I've ever been in.

We came here midday while waiting for our dinner date appointment. We enjoyed some appetizers and drinks and had a great time. I've seen this place from the outside get pretty busy at night, but during the day, it was fine and there was plenty of tables to choose from. Appetizers were quick and very cheap and drinks were the standard bar-price ($6-15). As for the service, we had a great waitress who was attentive and took great care of us. She later went home and we had a new waitress who didn't really seem to know what she was doing, but she was younger and probably a little less experienced--still, friendly. We did have to wave her over when we were ready to go (she was just standing and looking around), but she came and took care of us. Although we prefer the Apple Valley and Bloomington locations, this was a good experience and we wouldn't avoid coming back.

Hi there I just moved here from Australia and last night Halloween party was my first time at Cowboy Jacks. I was the fire performer who did the show and roving fire eating around the place. From May 8th perspective of back of house I wanted to say that the staff were wonderful and flexible. They were also extremely professional and on time. The crowd was amazing as well, the Halloween party was going off like a frog in a sock. LOL. Definitely look forward to coming back and providing more entertainment again. Had a great time I hope everybody else did too. See you soon

An awesome location, conveniently located near parking. It's open and spacious, with lots of seating. Every employee; servers, bartenders, and security were friendly and looking to see that we had a great time. Good drinks, food, and atmosphere- it's nice to go out somewhere where it doesn't feel like they've cut corners to save money during this tough time for restaurants and bars.

Drinks are lil expensive but you are paying for it with the location. Line can get long at night but it’s a fun time. Great place to meet a lot of friends for a night out. Get here early

Visited during a Twins game and the place was packed! The servers hustle and do their best. Don’t leave a drink at the bar top if you get up to use the restroom as it won’t be there when you return. Our bartender did replace a drink thankfully when we mentioned it was taken prematurely. Appreciate that.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here. Checked out the upper deck patio before a Twins game. It was good to see that some things have not changed. Good, quick service and attentive staff.

Was here for a Gathering Private club area. The bartenders were busy but still great. The floor staff could have helped by clearing classes and such from the tables. Doing this also gives them an opportunity to "Gage" the frame of mind of the patrons for early identifying of potential problems. The side walk out front was littered with cigarette butts, trash and cans. The rase area off the dance floor needs something to catch people's attention that there is a step. In 30 minutes I witnessed 12 people trip on the step.

I personally am not the biggest fan of this place but that doesn't mean it isn't cool. The rooftop is simply unbeatable in the area. The drinks are fairly priced and the food is good. This place is just PACKED on the weekend. I'm not gonna knock them for it but that's just not some people's vibe. One big party, highly recommended.

Our server was friendly and the food + drinks were great! But I was disappointed in how they handled closing early. They closed about 3 hours early but didn’t lock the doors so groups of people would be coming in and sitting down (about 4 hours before closing). We felt bad that the people were waiting so we would have to tell them the restaurant had already closed before staff could let them know. We knew we would have to leave soon, I just wish the staff member wasn’t rude when asking us to leave.. just really unfortunate and it’s something to keep in mind if you want to visit here on a weekday

Some friends and I came here for happy hour after the Twins game. Rooftop seating was awesome and our drinks were fantastic. What made the visit most memorable was our server, Justine. She did a great job taking care of us. She's extremely genuine and provides some of the best service I've experienced hands down! Highly recommend!

I went here on a busy twins game night, i couldn’t find a seat at any of the bars so I sat at a table. The service excellent. I was at capital grill the night before and I thought my server here was just as attentive! The food was much better than expected given it’s a more casual spot. I had the cheddar brat, and this was seriously SO GOOD. Severed with thinly sliced kraut and onion rings. Additionally, they had large TV’s and comfy seating. Highly recommend this spot.

We went during lunch on a weekday and took advantage of the rooftop patio. It was particularly windy that day but we managed and the waitress was very aware of the wind and made sure our beers were never empty enough to blow away. I had their taco salad and it was fantastic. I also had their chili which was nice and spicy and super flavorful. I loved it. The place also has really cool ambiance with various cowboy/country knock knacks on the walls everywhere.

I recently attended a Medical Freedom support event for the organization MaskOffMN.org at the Barn Center at Cowboy Jack's. The space was beautiful, food was great, and the staff did a fantastic job accommodating our needs. Great rooftop, interesting people watching...Crazy busy before Twins games. If you want to try it on the cheap, go for lunch. They have a few excellent lunch deals ($5 burgers, etc.) I had the chicken wings and would NOT recommend them. Dry, chewy and fairly gross. But the $5 burger is a good deal. And service is always good to very good. They can really sling the drinks when they're busy.

Definitely a bar with a restaurant added in. The lunch specials are fairly priced. I've been in for burgers which is a good value and the wings was fun too. But this is the spot to be before Twins games, one time I saw Joe Nathan... So that was cool. The rooftop is awesome when it's nice out.

Very large downtown bar, this place is a great spot to have a drink before a Twins or Timberwolves game - as both stadiums are 2 blocks away. I’ve also been here for a typical evening bar scene, it’s usually pretty busy with 20 and 30 somethings. They used to have a mechanical bull which was always fun to watch people try out. If you’re not into a packed bar scene I would recommend going here before 8 or 9p, otherwise it gets pretty busy. Lastly the rooftops are awesome in the summer.

Great place to go before a game. Good drink specials if you hit happy hour ($2 rails, cheap beer specials, etc) and it even applies to the roof top. I've generally had good to excellent service over the years and find myself walking past other bars for work happy hours.

Cowboy Jack’s downtown isn’t exactly the best or most unique bar in the area. But the atmosphere is pretty good. They have a fantastic rooftop that makes this place the perfect summer evening hangout. The biggest reason I come here is that the drinks are super cheap for being a downtown bar. So while Jack’s may not have the best image in the mind of most people living in the twin cities area, we all still go here anyway.

Stopped in for drinks and dinner last night. Our bartender was great when she was around, but she looked like she was the only employee there and it was decently busy. Our drinks were great and fairly priced for downtown. We also ordered some food. The Chicken Ceaser wrap was okay, it wasn't anything more or less than advertised. The buffalo chicken pizza was a let down. I loved the crust, but there was barely any cheese or toppings. Very cool location and nicely decorated.

A great place for hanging out after a Twins game. Fun ambiance, excellent food and drink options, and a beautiful rooftop. The happy hour specials are great. On Wednesdays, they have $2 gin and tonics and $2 hamburgers. Their non-happy hour prices were fairly high, but so are lost prices at downtown bars.

Stopped by prior to a Twins game on Wednesday afternoon. Always a very busy place before a game due to close proximity of Target Field. Had a quick drink and wanted a couple items off the menu for me and my guests. Unfortunately, was told by our waitress the kitchen orders were backed up and we wouldn't get them before going to the game. She did suggest a few things that could have been made quicker like fries and cheese curds. We passed on it and headed to the game. Even though I wasn't happy they couldn't deliver on our first requests was very pleased with how our waitress handled the situation. Very professional and kind in her duties. However, if you want to have appetizers of choice or lunch before an event at Target Field would get there two hours ahead of time

If I was back in my 20s, this would be the place! Fun atmosphere awesome layout of the restaurant. Maddy was our server and did awesome with our large group at 3 different tables! Bathrooms need some updating. You can hardly get in the stall and close the door u less you are a size 8 or smaller. It was very difficult getting in to help my 3 year old use the bathroom.

Lunch there was great. Great service, cool place. Ordinary country music was too loud for how empty it was, I'd def. bring that down a good notch. But my biggest little complaint was that the napkins leave little lint balls all over my nice work clothes. Have to get a masking tape pat down from a coworker whenever I get back form there.

Very cool location and love the rooftop! If you like some good comfort food, they have several great options. A couple of my favorites are the tater tot hotdish and and the Sloppy Jack (sloppy Joe) sliders. Also recommend the Scorpion pepper dry rub for anything chicken.

Great place to have a happy hour! The rooftop is really spacious, with swings, a bar, a cornhole set, tons of tables, and cool lighting overhead. Overall, this place is absolutely huge, and worth going. Tip: Jack's IPA (their "own" beer brewed by Lift Bridge) is only $2 during happy hour.

The dry rub wings are excellent and my go to happy hour item. Service is usually good and last time we were given a free round of beers due to slow service

I'm not much for gay bars, but this place was awesome. We partied on the rooftop drank enough, listened to live music and bs'd with the best of them. I enjoyed hitting on other guys gf's and making you think it's a gay bar. It's not. Go and check it out. You'll like it. We even ate food that was good. Pretty sure I ordered nachos and liked them.

This is a fun spot for nighttime bar hopping (and it’s also one of the now many places downtown that features a rooftop bar). There are multiple levels here and lots of space to stand or sit. Sometimes there is live music upstairs, and downstairs there is always the mechanical bull to draw attention. Can’t say anything about the food, but if you’re out at night this is a decent spot to be.

Best place to hangout and go to see sports, they have the best happy hour that I know. If you want a quiet place, go to the second floor. Every tuesday they have trivia. The place is all wood and very cozy. Definitely I will be there another time!! Some night they have live music.

I rarely complain about service, but it was bad. Took 10 minutes for waters, another 10 minutes to place our orders. One of my friends ordered a Turkey wrap with no bacon and got a wrap with no turkey and extra bacon. Our bills were also wrong. I can see why it would be fun if you're 25 and under, but if you're going for music, food, and are 26 years+.... I dont suggest it.

3.5 stars but not quite 4. Food is ok. There is a decent selection. The waitress was not very friendly and seemed irritated the whole time. We did not feel very welcomed. Another waitress was not so bad. Maybe the other one was having a bad day.

Came here from a friends recommendation before the Twins game, it was quite an adventure downtown being away from the cities. We had parked further by the Target shopping center and had a few hours to hang out. Ended up going towards this area where and hour before and after the game there are 2 for 1s and also $5 buckets of wings for 2lbs. Probably should have stuck with 2lbs and a salad but i was a lot of food, fun and music got to see some others try out the bull ride. Definitely a different atmosphere I would advise those coming for the upstairs patio to steering in earlier it's really crowded and ended up inside.

Cowboy Jack's, where you wont find any actual cowboys, dont be mistaken. We took our friend here in hope to find her come country music and atmosphere. The establishment itself is really cool, there are multiple levels, a roof top bar, and it has a saloon type feel. The only thing missing was the country music. - personally, it wasn't a big deal to me. We still had fun, the drinks weren't over priced, and the bartenders were friendly. We met new people, danced, and so on. We just didnt feel that the name fit the business and the name is a little misleading 🤷🏼‍♀️

Awesome bar! It's packed on the weekends, but with three bars and a ton of space it's not hard to get a drink. They have a huge outdoor patio on the second floor which I'd awesome when it's nice out. Drinks are priced about average for the downtown area.

Cowboy Jacks is always a good time, whether it is just two people or ten people. The atmosphere is great, and they usually have good service. Be sure to go during happy hour to get the best specials in town on food and drinks. The dry rub wings are amazing. Downtown Cowboy Jacks has a great location next to Target Field, and they have great rooftop bars.

Used to be my favorite place in all the cities to take our company and company partners/customers. This was due to both the service, food options, and the MOST.... THE BULL!!! It was such a hit for our overseas business partners... they still talk about it years after. They still have great service and food, but the bull is gone :( It was claimed to be taken for the superbowl... but has yet to return. I look forward to it's return.

I recently held a double birthday party at Cowboy Jack's. Originally I had wanted to have it at Crave, but the first woman I spoke to told me they required $500 for parties over 20, the second woman I spoke with told me they required $1,000 for parties over 20 (not sure if that was a "promise" to spend $1,000 or a deposit, I didn't ask). Anyway, glad we chose Cowboy Jack's, service was great and they had reserved a small room for us that held 25 people. I split a whole braised chicken with another guest and thought it was very good....tender and juicy just the way it should be! And the amount of food was more than enough for me and a male guest to share. I also loved the sweet potato fries and veggies that were served on the side. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, I had no complaints from anyone who attended. Now that I think of it though I'm kind of disappointed they didn't offer anything for the two people who were celebrating their birthday (free dessert, drink, etc.).

We returned to our spot in line but kept an eye on him. Good thing we did because the bouncers decided to start throwing him around like a rag doll for being too close to the door. He couldn't defend himself. He was bleeding. We had to run over to stop them. This isn't my first issue with the bouncers at this location. They are consistently rude, unprofessional, and scary. I don't feel safe at this location.

Best Happy Hour in the Twin Cities! $2 beers, $2 well drinks, and 1/2 priced apps from 4-6pm and 10pm-12am 7 days a week! Woo Hoo! Mondays are $2 Sloppy Joes and Wednesdays are $2 burgers. Lots of high quality deals here and the service is always on point. This placed is usually not busy if there aren't any sporting events/concerts happening during the week.

This should be a 3.5 stars. VERY PACKED before Twins Games! Good luck trying to get service or a table here if you actually have a job and go to work before a game... The other patrons are all in the same boat (more or less) so they are easy to get along with, perhaps you can even share a barrel-table with easy going people. But the real issue will be getting some service. 3 floors of too busy servers can wear you down. If you do get service, try the wings - they're decent enough.

I ordered the Jack’s club sandwich with tater tots then for dessert fudge dipped NY cheesecake. It was a pretty big portion to me but delicious, sandwich freshly made and tater tots nicely crispy. The cheesecake was mouthwatering. Will definitely go again if I go back to Minneapolis :)

Bar food at par best. Wings and chicken sandwich is the only thing I'd eat there. Thing that brings me in is Sundays for Retox. Good music most the time (live DJs) with great drink specials. If you're a Vikings fan it's the place to be before and during games. Huge patio with three levels to drink at. Very casual feel with a country theme. Management is good and bartenders are on top of their game but won't deal with shenanigans (which you'll see with Sundays and booze drinking). Epic New Year's day onesie party with awesome cash prizes but that's the only time I'd ever really go there.

If you're looking for a beer or drink before a Twins game, this is the place to go. Get there early though. Quick service and pleasant staff, but if you have a big group, good luck finding a table. If you decide to go with a group before a game, plan ahead because it's a hopping place.

Not my jam, but I've got to admit that Cowboy Jack's does cheap American cowboy bar really well. Inexpensive drinks right off the light rail and near target field mean that Cowboy Jack's always has a bustling atmosphere that sits somewhere between cowboy bar, a house party, and a superbowl party. A bit of a meat market but not quite coyote ugly level of wild. People like the wings and it's got a pretty great patio up top. The bathrooms have tended to be pretty dirty but that'd to be expected when you're getting $2 domestics and rail drinks downtown. Bonus: mechanical bull ensures at least an entertaining time.

Be careful leaving this place. A Woodbury cop might pull you over for a made up bs reason, just to harrass you and try way too hard to get you with a DUI, just cuz they saw you leave the bar. Thanks to the Woodbury police, I'll probably never go to this bar again. I got pulled over instantly for an "unsafe lane change," when I blinkered and safely changed lanes on an empty road.

Quick Pro Tip go during twins games a bucket of wings is 5 bucks and the drink specials are lit and it will be empty you can get in get out and be satisfied
