Reviews of Burger Dive at POTLUCK
I had the nacho burger and my wife had the wedge burger and the Jalapeño cheese curds. We were both a little disappointed. The burgers were fine, I guess, but nothing special.
The chips on the nacho burger might not have even been there, as they got soggy under the guac. The guac was uninspired, bland, and a little brown. The burger and bun were fine, but the burger certainly didn’t live up to its exciting premise.
The cheese curds were bad. I’m pretty sure they come from a bag, because they didn’t have the “squeak” of fresh cheese curds. They were also underdone…. The cheese wasn’t quite melty and the breading was just soggy and not crispy at all, so the dominant texture was just oiliness. They were quite off-putting and we ended up throwing most of them away.
The burger is not basic, it tasted good.
I had the nachos burger.
Staff are nice and got the food ready fast.
But personally I think $18 for a burger, chips bag and a fountain drink is a lot higher than it should be.
I never expect too much from a mall food court, but Burger Dive nonetheless met the bar for high quality and was surprisingly and disarmingly delicious. Service, food, and atmosphere were all top notch.
Right off the bat I want to tell you guys this might have been the best cup of chili I’ve ever had. Seriously. Instead of ground beef, they use chunks of stewed beef that were not only tender but also flavored exceptionally well. I was taken aback. Some home cooks might certainly do better, but this was definitely on par.
Same goes for their house dry rub wings: some of the best I’ve had. They were crispy and seasoned well with what seemed like a combination of lemon pepper and other cajun spices. I’m in the minority since I prefer wings on the overcooked side, but I still have to give props for how well these were cooked: just to the point of being juicy and tender with a light, crispy, golden, well-seasoned crust. Hats off.
My only gripe is that I had to wait for longer than I thought I would have to. And I didn’t like having to give my phone number to be called when my order was ready. Speed of service is definitely something they can work on. But if you don’t mind trading time for quality food, you won’t be disappointed.
Service people were friendly and seemed proud of the work they do. There’s definitely a good team behind the counter, at least when I went on a Sunday afternoon. Be prepared for a bit of wait, but deliciousness is on the other side. I didn’t try their burgers or seafood items, but would expect the same level of care and quality went into those too.
I have no qualms giving 5 stars here. You can’t go wrong giving this place a try.
Good prices, nice patio out back and a fun neighborhood place. Had the impossible burger with a regular meat patty and a half order of fries. The burger was really good. Smashed and juicy with a lot of flavor. Would definitely recommend coming here for a good burger.
Oh yeah, no health care or Covid surcharges when the bill came. A big plus. Just a business running a business the way it should be run.
I only stopped for a quick beer after work. Happy Hour had just started, so the price was good and the beer was cold and fresh. I am giving this 5 stars based on my bartender, Sukeem, friendly, funny guy, great personality The bar manager was also very nice. I would give Sukeem 6 stars, but it's not allowed. Looking forward to stopping by again to try the food
Guinness, decent cajun fries, a Killer chicken burger (way above expectations). Definitely beyond anything I expected. I'm actually glad I passed granite city and crave to try this one. And Cassidy is an absolute mind reader, plus taught me a different way to pour Guiness so it tastes like it's on tap.
Cassidy Jenny and Sakeem always take great care of me here! They know my exact order each time I come back. Can’t tolerate the guy who rarely works who enjoys to ignore providing me service, I point it out every time :)
Stopped in for a burger... not much has changed besides the menu, very small. My burger was decent, my friends was very salty. Service was great! Sat on the back patio which was OK... in regards to COVID, everything seemed top notch.
Located inside Potluck Food Hall. burgers are super juicy . Get the cheese curds . You won’t regret it!
Great Dive Bar feel! Staff is fantastic. Food is even better! Chefs Josh Thoma, and Nick Oleary puts 5 star food in a local ST Paul bar. If you love 360 bars, you’ll love Burger Dive Bay Street!
We’ve eaten here half a dozen times since they opened and the food is amazing we’ve never been disappointed. The bloodys are out of this world. And the staff is attentive, caring and very fun to be around and interact with. The house burger with bacon, fries, onion rings and now the tater tots are all awesome. Blue cheese burger is great, and so is the mushroom and Swiss. Don’t forget to order a bloody kit to go! Comes with everything we used to get when we were in the bar!!! Just add vodka and ice!!! Sooooo gooood! Will be back again!
Really enjoyed meeting Ashley behind the bar. She’s a “professional enabler”. 😉 (Pro Tip: Order one of her adult milkshakes for dessert)
I had the onion burger. Just the right grill crispiness to the double patties, and the onion jam was on point.
Wifey had the cod sandwich. Flaky fish, not too heavily breaded. The slaw comes on the sandwich and has a very forward fresh taste seasoned heavily with tarragon.
We’ll definitely be back!
Staff was super nice, took our order quickly and told we'd be texted when it was ready. The text came within 5 minutes and all our food was ready. I got the house burger and my companion got the onion burger, both were good. The onion jam was very flavorful and the burger patties had nice crispy edges on both burgers. We opted for the chips that came with the burgers but the fries looked good on a tray at the table over from us.
The entire potluck food court was pretty dead for the dinner hour but, it is covid times and the mall closes at 7pm right now.
Anyhow, food was good for if you're already in the mall, but I wouldn't rush there just for a dinner out.
Pro tip: you can access the potluck food court from the outside of the mall if you enter up by the movie theater
I wasn’t a huge fan of the burger I had. I got the Mississippi burger. It had too much going on. Like 2 extra ingredients it didn’t need. The meat here is very tasty. The “gourmet burgers” are a collection of odd items and are expensive. Cash only.
I also got the pierogies. Just like every pierogies I’ve ever had, just kind of meh. I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to be. If you like pierogies, I was told they are very good.
I’ll likely eat here again. But I’m not going to put it on my burger priority list.
The burgers are so good. Pictured is the wedge burger, a take on the classic wedge salad. Delicious homemade sauces. Made with ground ribeye, brisket and chuck.
Burger drive has a very good Swiss mushroom burger and fries. I hope to return to the potluck and try the other places as well as BD again.
Burger Dive is a pretty standard neighborhood dive bar in appearance and attitude. The place is clean and bigger than I thought it'd be; they also have a cute, small patio in the back. The excitement here comes from the food: we started with the deviled eggs and an order of the jalapeno cheese curds; both were very good and the portion sizes are more than fair for the price. We both tried the house burger with bacon, and it was excellent, especially for the price. Everything worked well together, the house-made pickles are a nice touch. We also ordered a large side of fries, they're very similar to McDonald's except they're crispier and definitely saltier (which I like, salt is the best). Can't wait to stop back in to try some of their other burgers/sandwiches--really great stuff.
They definitely did their part to make the place as Covid safe as possible and it shows. There are even dividers on the bar to keep people separate.
I love that their menu is limited because what they do is done well.
I had the onion burger and that was bomb. It was simple but had some depth that really worked. I expected the burger to come with fries or a pickle, but it comes with chips. Wasn’t clear on the menu but thankfully I got a side order of fries for $3. They definitely keep the fryer nice and clean because the fries were perfect.
The lobster roll is good! It could use a touch more salt but the citrus/lots of dill they use is great. I also REALLY appreciate they put it in a container and not directly on the bun for takeout.
A bit expensive for the serving you get and considering they call it a dive, but definitely a tasty burger! I will definitely give this a few more tries.
Had a positive experience at the Burger Dive in the Rosedale Mall foodcourt. I got the impossible burger and my friend had the double cheeseburger; both patties were cooked to our liking and they even threw in a free side of fresh fries.
Stopped here on the bike with the wife, great mushroom swiss burgers, the food was fresh and the sides were delicious. My wife loved the cauliflower, My tots were good. She loved her body Mary and the service was excellent. My only regret was I missed their breakfast. Definitely will eat here again!
Recently came by here for a late night Sunday dinner, my girlfriend got the dry rub wings and I got the PB&J burger, along with some of the cheese curds. Everything was fantastic, and the food was served quickly. The wings came out hot and juicy and the rub was great. My burger was cooked perfectly, two smashed style patties that were both crispy and juicy. All the ingredients complimented the flavors in a great way. Definitely try the PB&J burger, way better than I was expecting!
I’ve been to this place over 50 times and their burgers are phenomenal. If you are a burger enthusiast like me or just like burgers in general, this place is a must visit. The wedge burger is fantastic and the house and mushroom/swiss burgers are also favorites.
Ordered take out from Burger Dive for the first time last night, and I was so impressed. My Reuben had slow cooked and pulled corned beef and the perfect balance of cheese, kraut, and dressing. My husband loved his burger, especially the bites with house-made pickles. The fried mushrooms were amazing as well, and very unique- they included a mix of fried onions and banana peppers. Definitely will be ordering from here again, and look forward to dining in at some point!
Had the Onion burger, wings and fried cauliflower. The burger was out of control good. I went for lunch and ordered extra burgers to go so my friends could try them for dinner at our weekly game night. The wings are great, extra crispy with good flavor without sauce. The staff is fantastic as well, they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. I cant wait to go back again.
We ordered pick-up a while back, for dinner, and we both thorougly enjoyed it. The burgers and fries were very good. When ordering for that meal we noticed they had a breakfast menu too so we decided we'd come back sometime for that. Fastforward to yesterday when we made it back here to order breakfast for pick-up. We both ordered the breakfast burrito and OH MY GOD. It's so delicious. And you know the two worst things about burritos is them falling apart and each bite sometimes being a single ingredient.. well, you don't have to worry about that here. The burrito was so perfectly wrapped that it never fell apart and they mix all the ingredients before putting it in the burrito. I woke up this morning seriously considering going back...
Ordered takeout from here the other day. The burger was amazing, just as good as any "cheffy" burger in the Cities and at a reasonable price. The onion rings were terrific, too. All the food traveled well. My new favorite burger spot.
These are the best burgers around--startlingly delicious. I've eaten at all the juicy lucy joints, and while these aren't stuffed burgers, they'll leave you daydreaming about the next time you'll eat one. Especially the onion burger.
All around simple, laid-back dive with quick service and no pretense. Having been there a few times, the beers always taste great, i.e. clean tap lines. Go there. But don't bring too many people because, selfishly, I don't want it overrun to the point I am turned away.
This was our second time visiting Burger Dive, and both experiences have been amazing! Burgers are delicious, prices are fair, beer is definitely priced cheap for the cities! We'll definitely be back more regularly!
My buddy and I each tried the Burger of the week. Two patties, an egg, jalapeno aioli, bacon, chives...my friend had extra jalapenos on his...on a nice toasted bun. Excellent and very filling. Didn't need the fries, but they were hot and fresh...very thin cut. Asked for ranch twice, never received it but friendly server and bartender and great food made up for the missing condiment. Brought my bag of chips home, too full.
What a hidden gem! Definitely a neighborhood "dive" bar with delicious greasy burgers, yummy onion rings, deep fried mushrooms and fries! Will definitely be back to try their breakfast and other sandwiches. There was only one waitress and she killed it! Pull tabs a plus!
Amazing. Small menu but all done right. Weekends between 8 and 9 am can be a bit of a challenge service wise as the bartender is the only one on. When it's busy then be patient, you'll get some great food.
; The burgers and service are phenomenal. Fresh and flavorful food. A basket of fries is shareable. Plenty of other food I'll come back to try.
Located in a tiny bar and it can get tight and loud with all the regulars during their peak hours. If you are claustrophobic, beware! Clean bathrooms. Plenty of parking space behind the bar.
Hidden gem! 💎
Burger Dive has excellent burgers and the best fries/tots in the neighborhood. I’ve only ordered takeout so far, but the food travels well and tastes amazing once we get home. I can’t wait until Covid is no longer a thing and we can enjoy dining in at Burger Dive. It’s already one of my favorite spots in the West 7th neighborhood.
Burgers were great and tasted good 😋 bartender/ waiter was nice and attentive which is always a plus .. recommend it if. You want a nice burger fries were also on point which makes the meal …
I had a Mushroom & Swiss Burger with bacon and an order of Fried Mushrooms.
That was a tasty burger, nicely griddled patties with plenty of Swiss and mushrooms, perfectly crisp bacon, garnished with house-made pickle slices.
The Fried Mushrooms were great. Clearly fresh and house-battered, crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside and came with a very tasty jalapeño aioli.
Definitely satisfied my burger & fried side cravings and I’ll for sure be back.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were seated and attended to right away. The food was very delicious! The Jalapeno Cheese Curds were great! Overall, great spot to grab a bite to eat.
We went at an off time so it wasn't busy. Great service. Burgers were fantastic. Onion rings are out of this world and I liked the giardiniera sauce for dipping.
Some of the best flesh patties I've ever had.
I mean, fr... these burgers were scrumptious af.
Go here if you like eating meat patties. Theirs are the best.
Service was great and the food was quick. My burger was REALLY salty, though, and that's too bad. I'll give it another try and see what happens.
Great service, I would recommend the wedge burger and the cheese curds.
Excellent diner/dive bar food. I went for an early lunch, but the breakfasts diners ordered looked amazing! Loved the burger & fried mushrooms. Good stuff!
Pandemic info: they have plexiglass dividers between booths and at the bar. Contact tracing and hand sanitizer. Guests wore masks except while eating & drinking. They have a cute little patio too.
Excellent burger! Fries aren't so great but acceptable. Shamrocks has some competition! Both of these are way better than any burger I've had in the "famous" minneapolis burger places.
The house burger was so good. It's not the parlour burger, but for the price, it's a great alternative. The fries were also delicious and a half order was enough for three people. I want to go again next week and get the exact same thing.
Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had and great service very friendly people
Excellent customer service! Unfortunately an item was missing from my take out order and I didn’t realize it before I got home. I called them just to let them know and they apologized profusely and remedied the issue. The food was delicious and definitely will return! Recommended the jalapeño curds for an app! Great fast service!
Great burgers and great addition to the neighborhood. I’ve only ordered take out once since they just opened but I will definitely be back a few times a month. Will take some pics next visit.
Honestly, the onion burger is one of best I’ve had in a long time. Food was quick, great service. Can’t wait to go back.
I've now eaten her twice and both times it was fantastic. Really good burgers! I would order the peirogies as an app. They are delicious. Highly recommend Burger Dive!
Prehistoric, dangerously simple. Oh my god what a burger!!! Those pink or blue or green drinks with all the sugar added seem odd.
Really good everything.. some.of.the best burgers in town, breakfast all day, breakfast is.lovely too . Make sure.to ask about the special burger... 10 stars for burger dive
A cozy working class dive bar plus restaurant. Our waitress was sweet and the Impossible Burger they made was absolutely perfect. The place is a little small and pricey but that was one of the beat burgers I have had in a long time.
Great service. The menu is straight forward. I'm a fan of the house salad which involves craisins, sunflower seeds, feta and beautiful greens. The house-made salad dressings are wonderful.
Easy online ordering via ChowNow. Friendly staff upon takeout. The BEST burgers in the Twin Cities... I recommend the Onion Burger with a side of Fried Cauliflower.
Yay Burger Dive! The house burger is pretty much perfect. Their fries are tasty. Can’t wait to try their breakfast!
Burgers are tasty!
Recommend the Lobster Roll.
You try the Perogies and dry wings with jalapeño aioli.
Nice neighborhood hang out.
Service was great.
Crowd and vibe were wonderful.
Chicken tenders were a hit.
Patty Melt was so-so (bag of chips were lame)
Lobster "roll" was not good. Too much lemon. It tasted like eating a bottle of pledge. (Bag of chips were lame)
Onion rings were good
Had a great Breakfast! I recommend the blueberry pancakes with bacon. Delicious! The burgers are great there too.
Burger Dive is a great place to get a decent burger at a reasonable price. The restaurant is rather small but I like the way it's set up, mainly around the bar. Also it's cash only but they have an ATM.
It was ok - not great, but ok. Fries were good, but Burgers are better down the block at Shamrocks by a good stretch. I might try again, maybe it was an off day in the kitchen
Love this concept so much! The burgers were fresh and came out super fast. Great to revive a place like Jaros with actual good food. I'll definitely be back for sure.
An absolute favorite. The best bloody Marys, amazing onion burger, french fries, to go food done right, and great spot for a few drinks.
Great burgers and onion rings. Service was what customers always want and a bonus star for having cider on tap!
Classic Burger. Its $10 and its breathtaking. Life changed. Head exploded.
Was definitely the busiest eatery at Potluck but ordered the dry rub wings and they were good, albeit piping hot. Also side note, great blue cheese. Liked the text system to know your food was ready!
The house burger was great. The taste was new and refreshing with the addition of the seasoned pickles.
Great food. Onion rings are huge and meaty. Service was perfect. Friendly refills automatically.
Perfectly cooked burgers, ones you gotta grab with both hands and once you start eating you cannot stop. Great bloodies too!
Severs was great but fried cauliflower bits were too salty could not enjoy them all and burger was good but small for the price and salty too.
Great burger, fried cauliflower is real good, tots were good too. Also the chicken wings. I'll be back.
Nice, clean place that kept the old school neighborhood feel. Really tasty menu - don't forget breakfast - and Molly was awesome!
What a great find! This place is the perfect neighborhood spot for the whole family. Can't wait to come back again to try out the beautiful patio.
Great smash patty burger. Service was slow, bit friendly. Will be back.
Great food, good service. Not so diverse, the place is clean. Nice patio for days that are sunny and pleasant
Welcome to the neighborhood! Fabulous service and awesome burgers!! Love the taco burger! A must try for all burger lovers!!
It's kind of pricey but worth it. I will definitely go again.
Best burgers I’ve had in a long time! Friendly Service. Will be back.
Great burgers since the kitchen is under new management. Cash only, but food is very reasonably priced.
Always very nice service, Pb and J burger-Top Notch..
The wedge burger was really, really good.
One of the best burgers I have ever had and as a restaurant owner that is hard for me to say
🤤 The house 🍔 is it! Hard 2 venture from it but I do, then I come running back🤎💚🤍 …
Maybe the best burger I’ve ever had. I’m lucky that the location is a good distance from me.
Our waitress was excellent. Burgers were killer as usual .
Great breakfast!!! Biscuits and gravy were fabulous. Perfect neighborhood vibe!

Food was amazing and service was fast
We tried the onion burger, and the wedge burger, and of course a greenie! Most delicious, cant wait to return!
Very small town bar feel, near the heart of the city! Great vibes! Also, they have touch tunes!
Nice place and incredibles hamburguers
Great Reuben sandwich!
... And served by one of the most beautiful women that I've ever seen! 🤩 …
Excellent breakfast. However I had a pretty slow waitress.
