Reviews of Bryant Lake Bowl and Theater
McCallion Stark
Nice venue with a cool bowling alley, affordable drinks, and a cool music theater with a good sized stage.
99% of the staff were incredibly nice and attentive - with the exception of one very rude bartender. That aside it was a great place to see a band play and grab some drinks while sitting on their outside bench seating - pretty cool area.
Didn’t get to try their food but, the food I saw people eating looked incredible!
I’ll be back!
Quincy Blackwell
Vibes are incredible! Retro bowling, great food and drinks, we had a blast! Something about keeping your own bowling score that makes bowling more engaging! Pretty busy on cheap date night so expect to wait for bowling and maybe a table. No phone reservations, everything is first come first serve!
Greg Schatell
This place is awesome! They have a great food and drink selection and the staff was so so so nice! It has that local neighborhood family feel to it too. Also seemed to be a great date spot as there were a lot of couples and small groups of friends hanging out on Saturday night. They have a cool selection of THC beverages as well! We ordered the Cann Lemon Lavender Tonic and I would highly recommend. It tasted great and I was feeling wonderful shortly after. Not too intense at all, just a nice light buzz.
Scott Pawlowski
Hands down always a great experience here. Food and drinks are very reasonable. Old school bowling, $4/game is a steal on a weekend. $2 shoe rentals. Only a few lanes and you keep your own score which is fun to actually pay attention. Staff is great, happy hour is better, bowling is best! Just go!
Michael Freedy
As a full-time student, my eye is immediately locked on to the sign that said " cheap date night." As it stands to make it out of a restaurant for under 30 bucks is pretty rare these days. So to be able to get an entree for the two of us, split a bottle of wine, and play a round of bowling for $28 was impossible to pass up. The food we had was good but wouldn't blow your mind and the portion size for the cheap date night entrees is small but reasonable for the price. The wine is a full bottle which I wasn't expecting, and the bowling is vintage and enjoyable.
Garyione Hollins
Needed a quick bite for breakfast and this place always seems popular. It’s a casual setting-nice to grab a beer with friends. A little cramped for my liking. I ordered the daily omelette and pancake. Both were good but nothing to rave about.
Tanya Troska
Always great breakfast. The Amy's Burrito is my go-to, but my daughter loves the biscuits and gravy with sausage, and my husband loves the eggsadilla.
Mario Feola
First time I’ve ever listed the food as a positive for a bowling alley. It’s great! Check em out during happy hour for a great house Bloody Mary. Bowling is a fun, laid back vintage vibe with no screens and scoring by hand.
Matt Thedopestmatrix (TheDopestMatrix)
Such an awesome place. As a newbie to Minneapolis, BLB has went well out of their way to make our family feel at home. I come here every day now- some would say it's an addiction I say it's a commitment to building community in uptown. Come by!
Nick Katsiotis
Low key, comfortable spot to get a few drinks. The outside benches outside are nice to sit at in the summer! Go check out ‘Right up our alley’ by jaybyrdfilms on YouTube for an awesome drone video of this place
Confessions of Prakhar Mittal
Awesome place with variety of drinks and special attraction is there bowling alley
Lori Hessian
Fun little theater, bowling alley, and restaurant/bar. The food is always good, sometimes it takes a little bit when they're busy for drink service but they have a wide and interesting selection. Their shows can be hilarious, especially Die Hard the Xmas Spoof. Go back every year, go back every performance, it's always changing and always so much fun.
Jaye Lee Passage
So, we did not have food. Just stopped in for drinks before our movie. We had been told to check the place out and easily decided that it was a great find,
There's a theater for movies, bowling alley and many activities and events to watch for, One to keep on the go to list.
Brian Snow
My wife & I went to BLB this morning for some late breakfast. We have been coming here for breakfast for a few years now, and today didn't disappoint!
My wife had the BLB hash, I had the burrito. We both ordered coffee. Of course, the food was wonderful!
It's always nice to be able to sit & enjoy our time there, busy or slow, without feeling rushed. Our waitress was also great! Can't wait to go again!

I grew up in this area. So if my statements seemed suede to the better. very nostalgic for me. I'll do my best on being neutral. I love this place. It's right on lake Street showing all of its good traits. Parking can be a little bit of a problem but it's within a block of the place. People and the place are timeless. So many different venues that you can see in this place. And you can eat and throw a ball. The only thing that was missing from my childhood was the cigarette machine off to the right and the price of $0.65 per pack LOL yeah don't ask. LOL give this place a try even if you're from the outskirts. Do you want to experience the inner city? This would be a place to eat first try. Signed Christian
Renuka Thill
Very good tasty food! Wonderful kind wait staff and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend for good sandwiches and the pad Thai bowl had fresh ingredients with lots of flavor! We will be back!
Laura Thiesse
I love this place! It’s awesome living close to here because the food and atmosphere is so great! We once ate here two nights in the row that’s how good it is!
Beki Ingram
Lovely bowling alley, eatery, theater, and bar! Holiday magic and cool beers on tap! Fun place for the whole family of all ages and combos!
William Saunders
Movie theater, bowling alley, restaurant and bar in Uptown Minneapolis. Good food, fair priced and fun staff. And they have a pet fish. Great spot!
Stan Hockey
One of the things my wife and I enjoy while on vacation is finding a nice & unusual place to have breakfast. I saw this place on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" TV program.
OUTSTANDING! A not to miss place to eat in Minneapolis. Part bar, part restaurant, part bowling alley & part theater.
My wife and I had the day's special and weren't disappointed. Great food and ample portions.
In case you are wondering, overstuffed omelette with flat cut home fries and pumpernickle toast.
David Lawson
great place to come for bowling and beer! Both of these keep me coming back again and again!
cool place to be!
Victoria Grove
This is our favorite date night place. I was bummed when they removed the mac and cheese from the menu but sadness was immediately turned to joy when I tasted the replacement dish. New pasta is amazing. Lots of joy. Drinks are amazing and bowling tops it all off.
Heather Strand
Atmosphere was cool. Kinda spendy for the amount of food you get. It was fun bowling on an old bowling alley but I didn't really know how to keep score manually but it was fun!
Michel Gagneau
Wonderful venue with bowling alleys, quaint theater, surprisingly fine food, and all of it is inexpensive for Mpls. Loved it!
Gabriel Aluisy
Really liked the vibe here. This place has character and great decor - love the bowling trophies above the bar. Bartender poured a nice deep one.
The bowling alley is 8 lanes. You feel like you've stepped into the 70's. Very retro.
This place is no frills but fun.
Kaitlin Lucyk
Super cool and retro place! The food is fantastic and it's a great atmosphere. If you're gonna bowl, be prepared to keep track of your score on a sheet of paper they give you, it's that kind of old school
Josephine Henn
Great date night spot for dinner and bowling. Shows are also always a plus. Just had my first brunch here - Robin is AMAZING. Would come back just for her!!
Carol Palbicki
The food was reasonably priced and the service was good, but I am curious about the charge on the bill for "health insurance."
I loved the mural on the side of the building! Very talented artists!!
Anthony Harrington
Went here for a relaxing night of bowling and drinks.. and it was awesome!! Great time bowling.. not crazy busy.. awesome beer selection and sweet music! Definitely a must check out
Chad Solomon
This place is fantastic for the environment, good food and cocktails. Everything seems to be a little bit more expensive than it should be, but overall I've had pretty great experiences with this place. Great for date night.
Mark Hartwell
Great atmosphere and place to hang out. Wouldn’t recommend to go just for bowling though. The lanes weren’t all working and staff seemed overworked.
Dean Farinella
I had Carnitas, tacos. The pork was, melt in your mouth, great. They have a small, bowling area and a small theater. We saw the Die Hard Christmas play, for the second time. Great fun
Noah Gottlieb
Great place for a bloody and hangover good. Can't go wrong at Bryant lake bowl.
Augster O
Was at the Bryant Lake Bowl for the annual Toys for Tots fundraiser showing of the Star Wars Holiday Special. This happens one night only every December. It’s a good time watching an awful movie.
While I was there I had a chance to eat. I tried one of their burgers and it was terrific. Not the least expensive place to eat in the cities, but you pay for the ambience, nostalgia, as well as the food.
Service was fast. Limited parking in their back lot, which is past the building behind it. Look for the signs.
I’ll be back when I’m South again. The nacho platter my friends were having was amazing looking and I’ll be trying that next time.
michael leinen
Great restaurant, theatre, bowling alley. They have good food, great quirky theatre, and an amazing bowl alley in the heart of uptown
Tim Myers
My bahn mi was really disappointing. Beer list was ok. Potato chips were passable but not exciting..
Chris Ferguson
I got an an opportunity to see First the Winter along with Elsa Lee here last spring. Fun place to go watch a show. Good food, the server did a good job of getting food and drinks to everyone during the show.
I was impressed because from what I heard, they don’t normally allow new bands to play here but they made a great choice. I look forward to seeing other concerts here when things get back to normal!
Casie
Always great food. Nice staff. Large selection of non-alcoholic beers and some spirits. Bowling alley in the back. LGBTQ+ Small spot packed w awesomeness.
Kristin Backman
The best spot in Minneapolis. Charming waitstaff, delicious food, the best Bloody Mary in Minneapolis (get the Amanda’s Bloody). The atmosphere is always so charming and fun, always great music playing overhead—oh yeah, and bowling! 10/10 been coming here for over a decade and still can’t quit.
justin ramsey
Got trapped in Minneapolis for the night because Delta is Satan reincarnated. Bartenders were super friendly to me and made me feel welcomed in a city I've never been in. Great vibes. Great place. Amazing staff. Would visit again just for this place.
Jane h
It was a lot of fun. The shoes and balls are old but if you love bowling is the place to be.
Well worth a visit!
Jennifer Gascoigne
Awesome dinner, drinks, and shows.
Lisa Stewart
José is a fun and funny server, seriously enjoyed him serving us on the sidewalk patio. Super awesome NACHOS! Dog friendly!! Hipster chill vibe with an old school bowling alley and awesome theater too. Stop in for one and if you like it, stay for two!
Erik Grell
Solid Covid protocols in place; great selection tap and bottled beer; an Uptown staple. Thank you!
Robert Muller
Great place to go for dinner, drink or a little bowling. Parking lot in the back. The staff are super nice. Old school bowling with paper scoring which is fun. They only take bowling reservations for parties of 14 or more. Could be a wait for bowling depending on when you go. Some lanes are also broken at times which can make the wait a little longer.
Raymond Jimenez
It's a great place to have a bite to eat. Great for the whole family, or just for a couple. The food is great, and the environment is very friendly. The parking as far as I know it's limited. Being that I'm not from the area, I couldn't tell you if there's parking in the back. I hope this helps you, and thank you for your time.
Peter Kim
Laid back vibe with good food and drinks. Staff is great. Shout out to Peggy, Timmy, AJ.
Sam Brown
Food is super mehhhh but the vibe and the staff are wonderful. Great place to hang out, grab a drink, catch a show, etc. A local treasure. Go for the drinks and the shows, not the food.
Mawrgyn Roper
Food is good, bowling is fun. Fair warning bowling is super old school, you even have to track your own score. I love the theater and all the wild things they do there. From improv to drag to political talks. BLB is a fun place for a lot of different nights; date, friend, family, whatever!
Robert Hagen
The breakfast burrito was excellent. I don't come here often, but its a great place any time of day. Old school diner aura without too much grease.
Come see some modern dance in the theater or whatever happens to be showing any given night - you won't be disappointed.
Mani Harren
The best bartenders in the city, hands down. What a lovely lovely local place. I'm an overly critical human most of the time, but this divey little bar/bowling alley/theater is among the best of them.
Hanna Fletcher
What a fun experience! Old school bowling with self-scoring. The staff was super friendly and our drinks were great!
Rosie Lin
Went to bowl on a Friday night, the setup is fun where you have to keep your own score. The price was really reasonable. The people who work there are incredibly kind. It was all a good time!
Caitlyn Fahrenkamp
Came here for brunch and had the cuban torta which was delish. Robin, our waitress, was super fun to chat with and provided top notch services!
Rosanna Hudgins
First time back in years! It's changed a bit, but the food is still great. I kept my membership in the "clean plate club". I'll be back.
Pete P
Great neighborhood bar, restaurant and bowling alley! First visit to this uptown place and we are hooked. Great diverse clientele. We had no clue there is a bowling alley until the lights came on. Nice surprise. Very friendly and hard working staff. Definitely suggest it.
Geoff Lizar
Appetizers and cocktails are great, but the rest of the menu continues to disappoint. Great place to bowl while you have drinks, but if you're looking for a more substantial meal, I'd look elsewhere.
Renae Kewley
I don't have enough words to describe how much I loved our visit to Bryant Lake Bowl. I was in the Cities picking up a friend from MSP. We drove around and ended up stopping for bowling and a drink. My friend and I agree that it ended up being the best memory of our weekend together. Thank You!
bookworm
Great food and vibe. Waitress was super nice and fun to chat with.
Austin Kedrowski
Been here a few times, date night deal, impromptu date night, apps drinks & bowling. Affordable lil divey/charming spot and has some pretty decent vegetarian options! Squash pancake was great with spinach artichoke dip: would recommend ordering both to mix it up together. Very nice staff & fun lil atmosphere.
80ish$ before tip for two beers each, round of rail tequila, 2 games of bowling, shoe rental, three apps (plenty filling for 2).
David T
I have been here several times before Covid. I returned with my daughters in April 2021.
Menu seems shortened but offering great bowls and burgers.
Good selection for draft beer.
Service was timely and attentive. An error was quickly corrected.
Only 2 of the lanes were working. This is really due to the dearth of mechanics who can repair problems at the older alleys.
We love going and have enjoyed the location, opportunity for fun, and well executed kitchen that delivers deliciousness.
jay vyas
This is a perfect first real minnesota stop if you wanna see what it's really like here
Very dude
Jordan Gooding
Clean place with a retro feel, but be warned about the “cheap date night” for $28. The meal is predetermined and not advertised so I went for the 2 entrees/2 beers and bowling but left with a $15 2 beer tab. Bc I was unaware that I was going to have to eat a cold tomato/squash soup for my entree and had already ordered the beers.
Edit: the manager reached out to give us bowling certificates. I feel as though that was a good way to handle the situation (making it right) thank you.
Michael Calhoun
Iconic. Grab a spot on the bench out front and enjoy Minneapolis. The food is great, and I totally recommend brunch
i love street
The only reason I don't hit the 5 star review is because the chairs are not most excellent... if fact they just suck... Sitting at the is more comfortable, but other than that you can not find a more chill spot in the area to hide out from the hump day. ..
Michael Richter
Great place for morning bowling and breakfast! Food was excellent!
P Shaw
Food was great! The staff was amazing! Everything about this place is special. Old bowling alley in the back, food up front, and a theater on the side. Thanks for the great pork sandwich.
Laura Schroeder
Great breakfast menu. Quirky, eccentric surroundings in a bowling alley. Loveeeeee, do it
TJ Charlson
Wonderful space for adults. Music, live theatre, bowling and alcohol. Didn't feel like dancing tonight, but I'm sure that it would have been a safe place to do so. Had a good burger and would now feel comfortable to explore their menu - not large, but a slight variation on predictable. Saw a very good sketch comedy show, but with live theatre, that's not a guarantee. I had 2 different servers; one in the theatre was great, one in bar, not so. However, the one major complaint - drinks too expensive. It's hard to enjoy an evening out when the tab inflates so quickly. First time there, so maybe they have a rewards/regulars incentive that would make me repeat.
jackson atkins
Chill place to bowl and eat some food.
Travis Heitman
Enjoyed breakfast here Sunday Morning. Very cool atmosphere and vibe in this place. Loved the look of the old bowling alley as well will have to return to bowl. Bloody Mary's were delicious, food excellent as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive, enjoyed our conversations with the gentlemen doing dishes that has worked there for a long time very cool individual. We will be back!
Brian Wene
A great place for food/drinks/entertainment. I highly recommend BLB for a great night in Minneapolis.
Zachary Shires
Fun old school bowling alley hangout where you score yourself.
Ricansider
THIS PLACE IS SO MUCH FUN!!
Alright so I'm going to divide this review into two parts:
1] The Bowling experience
2] The FREEWIFI album listening party event
** This review does not cover the theater area **
[The Bowling experience:]
Bryant Lake Bowl is a blast from the past bowling alley that really captivates the nostalgia of classic bowling. No automatic scoring, just a pencil and a scorecard. Bring your A-game because this isn't just any bowling alley- a few celebrities have come to this place including Mr Peter Parker!
You can get drinks here which makes the games a bit more interesting #gutterball -
[The FREEWIFI album listening party:]
This event showed me that Bryant Lake Bowl is a prime spot to host a small to medium-sized event. The place was pretty backed with all of FREEWIFI's fans who were there to support the new album "Connected"
I may be a bit biased on this one since I am a recording artist.. but the sound system is okay, I have definitely heard better but it's not like you're going to a concert so this shouldn't affect the experience at all
All of my friends agreed that the food is pretty good (they kept going back for more) and all in all, I'd say that our experience here was a 9.5/10
The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect 10 is the sound system, other than that this is a perfect place for people to come out and do exactly what Bryant Lake was built for: bowling
Review Bandit
Kills me to say this but BLB is maybe a little too hipster.
I use to love this place because of it's retro vibe, but now it's just worn and grimy.
Maybe the Review Bandit's been out the game too long and it's hipster cool for three lanes to be non functional and have grime kinda covering the place.
Maybe it's me BLB
Maybe I need to look into my suburban mirror and reconcile the monster I've become for wanting stuff to work and be cleaned regularly.

Susan Pohl
Excellent service, great bloody Mary's and wonderful food. Staff owned, loved to support that!
Anil Harbaran
Been there a handful of times. Fairly priced food, service has always been good. I've never bowled there so I can't comment on that portion of their service. Last time I was there I had the patty melt, however, the burger wasn't seasoned or didn't taste like it was, so I'd watch out for that. I'm not going to knock a star off for that however, as everything else I've had has been really good! Also, their date night meal for two (dinner for two, bottle of wine, and bowling) is so cheap you can't afford to not do it.
Michael Shields
Truly a treasured staple of the neighborhood. The food is always great and the Bloody Mary's are a must have with breakfast. Service is 100% friendly and the ambiance is consistently Bryant Lake Bowl. You will not be disappointed!!!
Derek Meyers
Fun place to hang. The theater always has good shows, but I don't know if they have started up again. Bowling is the draw, but got can also hang at the bar area with plenty of setting.
Ashley Wineberger
Wow - Fantastic biscuits & gravy, paired great with their expresso martini! Atmosphere is really, really cool. Servers were great!
jenn
What a fun place! I went on a snowy wednesday at 11. So obviously not their busiest time, but it was a very nice experience. Server was quick, coffee was great, not burnt, smooth and frequently filled. French toast was yummy and had very little wait. The restaurant has a lot of activities but I just went to see what it was like. If I was in the mood the bloody Mary selection looked like it would have been great!
Jon Reek
Monday night date night is a great deal. Bottle of wine, dinner and bowling for two at an affordable price. The bowling alley is okay. We had issue with pins resetting and I'm not sure they've oiled the lanes in a while. The theater is small and a bit old, but they do a 50/50 split with artists, so they've got my love.
Eric Haugen
An absolute institution, and of the last best reasons to visit uptown. Be sure to plan some time to bowl. Top notch service.
Paul Kraimer
Great place to bring friends for food and drink.
Eldora Quinn Nurrenbern
Super chill place and super friendly staff! I'm not 100% how all disinfectantion goes but from what I saw I'd say its covid safe.
Also not sure who was working tonight but 10/10 server. They were super nice and helpful!
I'd recommend for drinks and food and bowling. I'd say you have to do both.
Yvette Tucker
Food delicious service great atmosphere cool
Leah Brooks
They had great social distancing set up. The back patio was really nice. We got the egg quesadilla and burrito. Both were amazing. We were a bit disappointed with the bloodies as they didn't have a lot of depth to them. Our server was fantastic though, the atmosphere was great, and over all it was a very good experience.
Heidi Burk
We had an amazing Breakfast! The new owner has really fixed up the bowling lanes, and made lots of other improvements! Everything looks clean and fresh!
Michael Freeman
Cheap date night is a blast here! you get to go bowling.I have probably had at least half of that menu items and I can't find a single flaw in the cooking or quality here. The service is always cordial. I have to get the wings almost every time I go there so tasty. Simple yet traditional menu items with a twist of awesomeness!
Liz Crandall
Iconic and storied Uptown hangout. The food is wonderful. If you haven't been, make sure to check these guys out. Great place for a date or hanging with a group of friends.
Todd Jelinski
Absolutely excellent experience. So fun! Great nachos! Atmosphere and character so cool and retro. It was a blast and I would recommend everyone go and enjoy some fun bowling with friends and family!
Kelly Brandon
Thank you Andy!!!! The drinks were poured perfectly (enough foam to make the beer taste good but not too much! ) He had great recommendations based off my preferences , and fantastic conversation..... could you get a better bartender? I’ll be back . Thank you Andy!
James Rudi
It was a really great place to have a hamburger and nachos with my daughter we had a good time together at Bryant lake Bowling alley
Alicia Blais
One of the coolest locations I've visited in Minneapolis so far. Cool tunes, sweet and welcoming environment. Absolutely AMAZING rosemary potato wedges! Happy Hour deals 👍🌟 …
Elaina Appel (Holmes)
The Cheap Date Night on Mondays is so awesome!! We did a double date with friends and had such a blast - the food was great and the bowling was so much fun!
The only bummer was we played one game and then the wait if we wanted to play a second was two hours (😳) but that's because it's a great place that a lot of people love.
Other things to note are that for the Cheap Date Night menu only offers one entree option (no choices, but their food is delicious), and the bowling scores are on good old fashioned paper score boards- so do your research ahead of time to know how to keep track!
Overall this place is amazing and so worth the wait! :)
Nick Turner
Fun establishment! We had a group get together that rented the bowling space and got food and drinks from the bar. Pizza and drinks were great. Service was a little lackluster, but we had the bowling to distract us. The lack of technology in the bowling area was super fun and unique. Would definitely recommend to others!
Corrinenycole Michels
Drinks are a bit pricey but good. The food is fantastic! I really wish that they served fries though. I've spent a lot of time at BLB almost three decades now my 27 year old son an his friends hang out there. Weird.
Jonathan Rafael Fernandez Colon
Best happy hour is here. Tacos are so good!
Anna Hurley
Great food. Consistent service. Nice beer selection. We go to the BLB all the time. The black box shows are always worth our time, and the casual sit-down dining atmosphere is relaxing. I really appreciate the semi- eclectic menu and that I can get an espresso drink whenever.
Laura McCauley
LOVE this place! It has a really neat retro vibe, the staff are super friendly, and their food and drinks are very fun and different. My favorites are the Bloody Mary and Amy's Burrito. Boom, can't go wrong. The bowling alley is old-school, which is fun for a throwback date night and the theater hosts a fun variety of different shows.
Peter DeMaio
Great place for brunch. All the food is great, and they have a number of different Bloody Marys based on how you're feeling. Cheap date night on Monday is a really great deal and the food was great.
It's pretty loud though, what with a cramped bar and a freaking bowling alley in the back. The theater can be very hit or miss.
Overall, great place to eat and have a few drinks
Jacob Bernstein
Don't order the Reuben. Staff is cool, location and atmosphere is awesome. Reuben was not good, rice bowl was okay. Ask what stuff is before ordering -- the Buffalo Chicken Nachos didn't have buffalo sauce or chicken which was odd.
Better spot for bowling and drinks than a casual date night dinner. When our server saw I barely touched my sandwich she was concerned and took it off the bill without me asking.
Cecilia Oberg
Ordered the carnitas tacos and wish it came with 6 tacos instead of 3. They were so delicious. We didn’t bowl, but definitely recommend calling ahead to reserve a lane. Also did some drink tasting, got the grown-up lemonade just the perfect combo and spicy Margarita, which wasn’t too spicy, but had that good kick the drink and unlike most margs, it came in a lowball glass, which was nice to be able to evening drink and eat the food together.
Upton King
I have been here many times. Lots of concerts/events. Sevice is surly but adequate. I truly hate the food - overworked, over spiced, and way too expensive for what you get. It would be nice if they spent a little money and improved the infrastructure of the theater. Also - the place could use a deep clean. Great beer selection, pricey cocktails.
Jasmine Branum
Great experience before COVID and great experience during COVID. Food was excellent. Two things to note is that there are not many, if any, vegetarian or vegan options and they don't have a dessert menu at the current moment. I'm hoping it will be back soon!
Matthew Johnson
Such a fun atmosphere. Great craft drinks & amazing food! Definitely worth a visit when you're in the Minneapolis Uptown area!
Joe Riddle
Been here dozens of times.
Never had a disappointing breakfast.
Just the neatest place to sit and enjoy being alive.
Wait staff is always attentive.
This visit I had the veggie hash with two eggs over easy on top. OMG what a tasty meal.
My wife had the granola pancake and a cup of fruit. Quite delicious. Check the photos I posted.
Forget those suburban apostrophe restaurants.
Get down to the Bryant-Lake Bowl!!
Ellie Martinson
Fast service, delicious food, good music through the speakers and a beyond-sweet waitress who gave us a couple free game coupons at the end of our visit!
Jeana Behnke
Great service and delicious brunch! I ordered the Eggsidilla and BLB bloody Mary! It was a great way to spend a Sunday.
Giulia Girgenti (girgiulia)
Great drink and food selections. The nachos are massive, plenty to split between two or three people. The wait for a free lane for bowling can be a bit longer on cheap date night (Mondays from 6p-midnight) but once you get rolling it's worth it. All the lanes are old style, which means you keep track of the score by hand and also they can be prone to breaking unexpectedly, but the staff are extremely helpful and jump right in to problem solve. We weren't able to finish our game but they didn't charge us for the shoes and gave us a few free game coupons to use the next time we come back. Highly recommend as a place to hang with friends or a date!
Maru Dominguez
The theater is not very comfortable but the people and the vibe makes a difference. Well done food.
Mark Montgomery
Wonderful old time 8 lane bowling alley, bar and theater, catering to the clientele. Great place to spend a relaxing evening with friends and share a few laughs.
Taylor Kneatson
We went here for their Monday Date Night recently and were surprised at the fantastic food and beer selection included with the $28 tab! Indeed Shenanigans with tofu or pork stir fry was a delightful way to spend a hot summer night. The included game of bowling was a great way to work off dinner. We will definitely be going here again for another Date Night.
Michael EnTin
Great atmosphere! Went for food around noon and had a lovely Bi Bam Bop bowl with tofu. Their root beer was phenomenal!
Christine Gerber
I have fallen in love with Bryant-Lake Bowl! Quaint and authentic feeling spot with a small bar and seating area in the front and vintage-style bowling in the back. The beer is reasonable priced and the pretzel was good. Bowling is by the game instead of the hour, so the price can climb fast with just 2 people playing, but we had a great time. You have to score by hand which I kind of loved - even though I hate math. Servers continued to come to us while we were bowling, so we were able to continue ordering drinks without interrupting the game. A definite must-try!
micah w
Absolutely a favorite breakfast spot. A great cup of coffee at one of the lowest prices you’ll find in the metro with refills. Fun to find a table outside any time the weather cooperates. A fine place for adult beverages and a very excellent date night deal with a game of bowling.
Grant Vandenbussche
Memorable place for small groups. The 50's bowling alley captures what Uptown used to be like. The service is very good and the tap list always features great beer. Waiting to bowl can sometimes take around an hour. I find that it can get a bit pricey as drinks and bowling for two can exceed $50 easily.
Evan Vranian
Classic Mpls bar. Love this place, hadn't been in years spent alot of time here after work. Good restaurant industry bar for shifties late at night. Bowling is always fun and even though there's now shows right now due to covid the theatre is a blast. Minneapolis institution.
Gabriel Douglas
great food, friendly staff. bowling is easily done here. the theater is past the bar and to the left. restrooms are to your right when you walk in. the patio outside is great (just don't stand and drink! sit down and enjoy!!)
Matthew Gantz
This is a fun little spot that has a restaurant in front with a bowling alley in back. Their cheap date night special includes entrees, drinks and a round of bowling, which is unique. Their beer menu is also pretty good, along with the cocktails. Overall, it's a great spot to have a conversation or a little competition with friends.
Brandon Lambert
If you're into vintage, and you like bowling, this is the place for you!! Old school 60's bowling alley. Only eight Narrow Lanes. Good beer selection from bar. Friendly staff. Nothing mechanized so study up on how to score for bowling as it's all manual. Would have been awesome if the old projector tables still worked.
Remedy Rook
One of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis - and the only one i've been in since the pandemic started. Every employee here is amazing and goes above and beyond to provide fantastic service and killer food. Support local business! This one is a landmark.
Ryan Bolduan
I am constantly amazed at the quality food that Bryant-Lake puts out from their closet of a kitchen. The staff is always friendly, they have a great beer list, and for a place that offers up nothing fried (that I've ever noticed), their menu is varied and quite good. For an average night out, it's a good spot.
Never bowled though, so maybe someday.
S Lisboa
Had a great time here. Very warm feeling bowling arena with a little clasic feel. The food was decent. We had tacos and Pad Thai which was surprisingly good. You had to keep your own score on the bowling alley which I enjoyed since it brought back high school memories when I learned how to do it. I would recommend to anyone wanting to just have a good night with friends in a somewhat intimate environment.
Peter Atwood
Great selection of different Bloody Mary's. Brunch was the perfect amount of food. It has an excellent dive bar feel which goes along nicely with the sounds of bowling in the background.
Sean Nykaza
Easily my favorite place in the LynLake area. Great food and cocktails at reasonable prices and a retro atmosphere that makes the place feel instantly electric. Not to mention great service staff.
Nate Wilson (Organic Squirrel)
Fun place to just hang outat! With indoor/outdoor seating, plus a bowling alley, plus a concert space, the vibe of "things going on" is seconds to none here. I especially appreciate the multiplicity of local taps. - Also, all the staff I've met (so far) are super nice people :)
Loren K
I used to go to BLB all the time when I lived down the block from them. They always had a great beer selection well before the MN brewing scene. The food leans towards healthier than I like but it is good. It can be slow so don't show up in a rush. Definitely go bowling though, or catch a show. It is definitely a one of a kind place.
mickey garza
This place has great breakfast ! For lunch I recommend the burgers and deviled eggs appetizer...great soups and salads...a very impressive menu .
Mostly I go for their yummy breakfast.
Oh , Did I mention the bowling alley and movie theatre??
Tom Lutes
When we got there, my wife and I walked through the bar/restaurant, past the bowling alley, and up to the "box office" (it's actually a teeny tiny desk with a register stuck into a corner by the theater entrance) to get the tickets for our show. Keep in mind that this was my first time ever inside of Bryant-Lake Bowl. I've heard a lot about it and I know plenty of people who have gone to see shows as well as folks who have performed as local talent. The whole place did not disappoint as far as its reputation. The venue was a great place for small acts and intimate shows. But that was the only thing that got to me; the intimacy, or rather claustrophobia. It's a really, really small venue and so when the theater is packed, it feels like people are in to of offer another. Some people might like that aspect. And for me, it's not a complete deterrent to every going back (I'm giving a four-star review, I'd like to go back again). I think it's just something to be prepared for, when you go.
Leah A.
This is a fantastic place for a date or outing with friends. You can do some bowling, eat food, get tipsy if that's your thing, and see live theater all in one place. I'm a big fan of Tipsy Kangaroo's Naughty Puppet Revue, and they've had other super fun live shows, like literary trivia and an 1800s romance themed improv show. Check out their show calendar. I've never been disappointed. It's a super relaxed atmosphere. Nicer than a dive bar, but I still feel comfortable saying swear words. 5 stars.
Brian Wagner
One of the better places to hangout in uptown. Great beer selection and decent food. However, this isn't a place for anyone who is an expert bowler. There is no computerized scoring, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the lanes weren't even regulation size. That being said, it's still very fun to go and drink, bowl a few frames, and have a good time.
Jeff Grizzell
I've only been here for drinks, but so far everything has been good. Very good beer selection, and the cocktails are pretty good. I had the peach pecan old fashioned. A bit on the sweet side, but a fun riff.
Jamie Hopkins
Fun place! Good food and friendly service. We were here on a Sunday about noon and it was pretty packed. We got a table right away but after that a line started forming. I had a burger that was good, my BF had pad thai and he liked that.
Tira Randall (Terry)
It's been awhile but still the best food all around. The theater is open now, this was always a place to eat great food, watch a good play, and bowl a few games.
Colin
Smallish bowling alley, cozy theater space, really good food and drink. I really love bowling here- it's old fashioned, you score yourself, but that's all part of the fun. They usually have unique shows that are done very well in their theater.
Jacqueline Brand
Cool place but charging $10 to bowl where I also need to write my own scores? Pass. Also if it's busy service by the lanes slows significantly. However i'll still come here for drinks and company. Always a busy place for bar food and entertainment.
Steven Anderson
We came here for a show in their side theater. The food is fantastic and the service was great! Eating in the theater though was a little tough as the tables could only accommodate a few glasses and MAYBE one plate. Other than that, a great place for fun and food!
Joaquin Muñoz
Tasty food, friendly service and great prices. Some might say small; I prefer to call it cozy. Lots of great food options, including vegetarian options. And if you're into chili, you gotta try theirs. So good!
Peter Goldberg
Went for bowling and drinks. There is a quality beer menu and decent drinks, although the pricing is a bit high. We waited for 1.5 h or more for a lane, and received very different wait time estimates depending on who we spoke to. The bowling itself was a lot of fun and the pin setup/ball return were the fastest and least problematic systems that I have ever encountered.
Elliott Conwell
Very cool environment! Nice staff, good quality food & drinks. Left not breaking the bank.
Stephen Bohrer
My wife and I traveled from downtown St. Paul, and it was worth it. Funky, fun and festive. We had a terrific meal, beer and wine. Then bowling. My wife, who never bowls, started out with 2 gutter balls. She's one of those slow ball throwers with lots of English. Then she went on to score 3 strikes and 4 spares for a total on 165. Incredible! She was giddy. Thanks to all for all of the fun!! We'll be back.
Ajax Clean
The cheap date night was a very memorable way to combine bowling and food and drinks. I have to say the curry was some of the best I've ever had. It's a great place with a great vibe and I'm sure I'll be back soon.
Christian Lum
I was here when I was a child. 78 79... It has come into its own. I love this place. Food is awesome. People are awesome. So relaxing and comfortable. The camaraderie is excellent. Bowling is so much fun. Give me a shout. You will not regret it.
Brittany Richert
Went from weekly brunch visits to 2 pick up orders in the entirety of 2020(bc covid). Still the same amazing folks taking care of you, still the same amazing food and drinks. Please keep picking up food, they are an Uptown staple and for good reason!
Nellie
I like this place a lot, for its location and good food. It can be extremely loud in there however, and I dont think their cocktails are that great, although I love the bloody Mary's. The bowling is really fun, and they have these cool little tables outside where you can sit and watch people walk by. I definitely recommend it, a great Minneapolis establishment
Todd Bussan
The breakfast was somewhat tasty, the portions on the small side and the prices reasonable. The Bloody Mary's we had were not very good, but the server and service was😁 it was a so so experience but if I had the choice, I probably wouldn't go back(at least not for Bloody Mary's and breakfast) …
Douglas Gawtry
While the food was decent and the drinks were good, I felt a little like a sardine with the small tables and lack of space. Then when we went bowling the lane stopped working numerous times that we actually switched lanes twice during one game. Vintage is okay, but not at the sacrifice of functionality.
Grant Mosser
The cheap date night on Mondays is an amazing deal. The food is delicious, the staff is really fun, and the bowling is really enjoyable!
S A (Stevo)
Always terrific! This is a frequent Sunday breakfast spot, and we love it.
Great food and atmosphere, at a reasonable price. Always fantastic service! Thanks, BLB!
Ashley Eurich
Wow, the food! Gluten-free friendly, homestyle scrambles and recognizable dishes, all impressive and delicious for a bowling alley. Sit inside in one of two areas, or at the bar or outside on bench tables along the building. Best Uptown restaurant for great food, service, drinks, and fun.
Ryan Evanson
If they ever added electronic scoring, improved the lighting, or cleaned up the old benches, the place would lose all the charm and character which makes it so much fun. A fun atmosphere and good drink selection make this a great place to hang out
Rob Grosskopf
Home away from home. Nothing beats bowling, drinking pounders of Hamms, and a self score bowling game. Shout out to my favorite waitresses Katie and Molly. Great neighborhood place with a food menu that will shock you. Sunday after 6pm this place is my joint. Cheap bowling. Also an awesome cheap date night.
Jamie Meidlinger
Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Shepard's Pie was the best we've ever had. Chili was tasty and flavorful. Might be a bit spendy. But worth it for a great local/neighborhood experience. A+++
Shad Owen
Always great food here and quality cocktails. This is an institution for the ultimately hip and uncannily cool crowd. The theater plays host yo all kinds of shows, you never quite know what you're going to get. Try the nachos for sure!
Stacia Marlett
I hadn't been in years, but nothing has changed. We certainly weren't bowling enthusiasts, but it would have been nice if the at least the lights showing how many pins were left standing in lane 7 worked.
The happy hour prices can't be beat, and the retro feel is fun.
Doug Thomson
My wife and I had a great take-out breakfast from BLB last weekend. We both had variations on (I think) the Eggs, Meat & Potatoes breakfast. I had two eggs overeasy with veggie sausage & my wife had the scrambled eggs with bacon. Each breakfast had the awesome, thin-sliced fried potatoes, which seem a bit healthier than hash browns but are still great. A nice touch is that you can add veggies a la carte, e.g. broccoli, red peppers, & onions - which we did. Who else offers that? I drove a couples miles to bring it all home and it was still all warm 'n' tasty. Will be back soon!
t loving
The atmosphere is so great. Good people bringing the chill vibe with a smile and great service.
I ate here several times during my visit. Most of the food was super yummy, especially the mushroom gravy & biscuits... Have them, go on, do it. They are sooooo yummy. They also make some mean scrambled eggs. You might ask how can you mess up scrambled eggs... just be grateful all you can do is ask. It’s not an experience I would wish on anyone but you’re safe here.
I wouldn’t suggest the black bean burger (somehow my was burnt on the outside & a bit mushy on the inside) but hey, you win some; you lose some. But the BLB fries, which I might officially be having a love affair with- are amazing. So, definitely have those!
At the end of the day, it’s a great, clean, low key, arts supportive dive! They also had DJs spinning sweet tunes in the front on the Monday night I bellied up to the bar for some good, well priced drinks. Great staff, great crowd.
BLB is pretty much bomb.
Chelsea Walter
We love Bryant Lake Bowl! I've celebrated birthdays there and also enjoyed their date night with my husband, on Monday's! The staff is the sweetest and the bowling is old school and so much fun!
Katie Drees
Always wanted to get here and I'm glad I finally did!! I looooove the aesthetic of this place. To me the outside and the inside just takes you back! Theres a vintage bowling alley inside (obviously) and it's not disruptive at all!! I was worried that it may be kinda loud while me and my friends were trying to talk, I didn't even notice it. I got the bad breath burger which was 13.5 - thought that was kinda spendy considering blue door was having 3 dollar burgers (only on mondays) less than two blocks away. But it was very good. And they have sociable there so I was set. Really cool spot, a little pricey but I'll definitely be back!!
Megan Johnson
Quick, ultra friendly service that made me feel bad if I tipped less than 20%. The breakfast food was just as great which was beyond my expectation. *I'm still dreaming about those breakfast potatos*. Oh, and the 2-for-1 Bloody Mary's is what will wake me up every Sunday. BEST BLOODY EVER.
Z Makila
This place is an anomaly to me. The bowling is old school; you keep track of your score on paper. So that's cool. But you'd expect some retro and classic bowling food with it. Waffle fries! Mozzarella sticks! Nope. All the food is hipster stuff. Fancy organic bean burritos. Thai BBQ chicken wings. Bahn mi sandwich. All good food, but absolutely not what I'm in the mood for when I'm bowling.
Shane Oborn
One of those unique places that's hard to put a finger on why you love it. But I always think of Bryant-Lake Bowl affectionately when I hear others mention it. It's smallish and nothing amazing but a place that is just worth hitting and I think you'll find that you'll remember it fondly as well. The small bowling alley there is sweet. And I've hit some very funny live theatre there as well.
Emily McKinney
Tasty food, good beer list, pretty decent prices! Plus a cute bowling alley. Just out your name in when you sit down for dinner, the wait is going to be a while.
Daron Schmit
Friendly staff, great happy hour, wonderful atmosphere, good beer selection. Overall great experience bowling there, given that you know how to score bowling. Even then, they have instructions on how to score bowling on the scorecard.
Sara VA
meat was missing from a sandwich. the waitress took so long to come back, there was no point in asking for it. had to go up to bar to request a beer (there was only 2 other people in restaurant). food was OK, but service could have been better.
Amalia Prohofsky
I'm not a big bowling fan, but I really liked the dinner theatre. The seats were comfortable, the service was excellent, and the food was amazing. I like that there is a variety of shows and the small space is very family friendly.
Leah May
Went for bloody Mary's and bowling on a Sunday afternoon. Slightly busy but got a lane right away. Service took sometime to get us our drinks and checked on us a couple of times during our 2hr stay. We played two games and it was fun! Bloody Mary's were good, we saw a site saying they we're in top ten of Minneapolis but they were nothing special. Our lane broke a couple of times and they got to it quickly which was nice. Price is 2$ for shoes and 4.50 a game for adults. Bloodies were 10$ I believe.
Jon Gerster
Good food and service. Modern and yet classic atmosphere. Good bowling. You have to do your own scoring for bowling which is hard if you don't know what you're doing but fun once you figure it out.
David Paider
Went there on a Wednesday evening around 7pm - took a while to find parking but that's typical for Uptown. We had to wait about an hour to bowl, but the drinks were good and strong. The lack of automatic scoring made the bowling a lot more fun and engaging; however, the oil patterns on the lanes were so poorly maintained that it took a long time to clean the damage off the track of my ball when I got home. I wouldn't recommend coming here for good bowling, but instead for a fun night out with friends.
Lukas Pitzl
Great beer selection. Didn't know they still made Schlitz but Bryant-Lake has it in a tall boy can for $4! Bowling was fun albeit the shoe size was a bit limited. Ended up wearing size 10 shoes (I'm an 11.5). Get there early or you won't get a lane. Oh, and don't forget to look up how to manually score your own bowling beforehand 😂 …
Joe Huber
Bryant Lake Bowl is a true gem. I discovered this place a few years ago and have consistently returned time and time again.
First, don't let the "bowling alley" aspect of the place influence your perceptions of the food. Most bowling alleys consist of cheap beer and even cheaper burgers/fried foods. Bryant Lake Bowl on the contrary has delicious food that transcends typical bowling-alley cuisine. For instance, I highly recommend their Tofu Pad Thai and "Bad Breath Burger." While their food is certainly more expensive than most bowling alleys, it is affordable and I never have felt I paid more than what I was getting.
Second, Bryant Lake Bowl has probably one of the best restaurant vibes in Minneapolis. It is casual yet intimate. The perfect place for a first date or right after a break-up. I've celebrated everything from birthdays, to friend's breakups and coming-outs. The great vibe stems from the smaller tables allowing groups of people to sit closer together while also being in a bustling restaurant. Also the wait staff isn't awkward and treats you like a human - they don't kiss your ass and they know how to joke around while delivering great service.
Finally, Bryant Lake Bowl is one of Kim Bartmann's true masterpieces. I've dined at most of her restaurants and am continually amazed at the well-developed concepts that go into each one. This one for sure is a must visit for any tourist, foodie, or someone in need of celebrating.
Brynn Kasper
We went for the Cheap Date Special on a Monday night. Nothing fancy but so fun! You should probably know what you're getting yourself into; you only get one option for the entree (including a vegetarian option) and I think it changes regularly. Ours was a pork (or mock duck) po-boy and a side of potato salad. The special includes a whole bottle of wine - obviously not the best wine ever but it gets the job done - and a round of score-it-yourself bowling for you and your date. There is a beer option if you're not a wine drinker.
Brooke Zarn
Amazing service and atmosphere. If you go you must try the espresso martini, it's delightful!
Vincent McGuire
Best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had, great wait staff, great experience. If you haven’t eaten here you’re missing out
Missy Isles
Visited this venue twice so far. Once for the MN fringe festival, once for a show called Villification Tennis. Very unique little venue. A little cramped seating-wide, but fairly good views of the stage, and a good menu selection, both in the theater and in the bowling alley/dining area.
Alvin Mayotte
One of the bartenders was rude and wouldn't even offer me a drink. Over what was supposed to be a silly question. Kinda ruined my Birthday experience. Other than that the atmosphere is great! It sure has changed over the years as far as customer service goes.
Eric Carrier
Good food. Has your typical bar/bowling alley pub food of burgers and nachos, but also has unique dishes... Deviled eggs with chorizo, Pad Thai, Bim Bap rice bowl, and turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich to name a few. I need to return to try their extensive breakfast menu.
Dana Murphy
Went in for dinner around 7:30 and then around 8 we paid for unlimited bowling that went until 10. We managed to get four games in! So worth it and so fun! The food is great as well!
Rory Merlino
Awesome comedy, Letters to Santa…UNMASKED
Nicholas Jesz
Good craft beer selection, excellent breakfast.
They have 15ish spots out front to sit on and enjoy a beer while watching busy lake street. I generally sit outside with my dogs and the waitstaff always bring the pups some water.
Will Streit
This is the best place that you could ever choose to spend any amount of time. Great food, great drinks, lanes, outdoor seating, and a theater unlike any other. I’ve never regretted a second that I’ve been in the BLB
Josh “Troz” McCauley
Very friendly service in a really cool space. Great beer selections and simple (in a good way) menu. Worth a stop to check out.
Jojo Kuria
Went here for brunch on a Sunday as a last minute choice best one I've made in a while. The pancakes (plate size & fluffy) and French toast are huge!! We enjoyed the food and chill atomsphere
Lex Talionis
Been coming here since I was a kid. It's an institution. It's real Uptown in its heyday. The food is OK, the drinks are reasonable, and the bowling is garbage (the lanes are warped and the equipment is the same stuff I was using 20 years ago). The "bowl" part of bryant lake bowl is a novelty--it's cheap and something to do while drinking cheap drinks...not a place to try to keep score (which is done on paper!).
Shannon Townsend
I've been coming to BLB since I first moved to Minneapolis. First off, the food and ambiance are wonderful and laid back. It's a perfect spot for brunch, drinks, or even a laid back meeting. But my real love is the theater. I've been fortunate enough to produce shows here for 2 years now and I couldn't ask for more. The staff is amazing. The theater curators put a ton of time and effort into their work. If you haven't been to a show at BLB you are missing out!
Imagine Joy
Their date night deal is absolutely amazing! 2 entrees, 2 drinks, plus a round of bowling. It's a fun/causal place with good energy. Check it out!
Kristina
An intimate venue with food and drink available during the performance. I appreciate that they are open to providing more experimental programing. I have been surprised by so many and have enjoyed them all. Highly recommend this venue.
Anneliese Hanson
One of my favorite places in Minneapolis, and one of the things I kissed lost when I moved to Chicago. Straight up old school bowling alley and new American restaurant. Some of the dishes are pretty overpriced for what you get, but the Monday Date Nite Special is a great deal. BLB fries are AMAZING but I know they changed the style a while ago. Not quite the same since they changed the BLB fries.
Jason Greff
Tried this place for breakfast. I'd heard good things about it, and being a DDD restaurant made it one I knew I had to go to eventually. The breakfast selection is just about the perfect size: enough choices to find something you will like, but not so many you get overwhelmed. Portions are relatively large, but not humongous.
Both my wife's breakfast and mine were outstanding, although I think hers was maybe a little better than mine. The coffee was very good (strong the way we like it), and they have a few different bloody mary's on the menu. I had the BLB bloody, and it's a very good traditional bloody.
I'll also say that it's rare to see a place where the staff so obviously enjoys their jobs. Refreshing. I plan to go back again to try them for dinner, and possibly bowling or the theater which is attached.
Evan Little
Maybe the best breakfasts in MN, in addition to all the other things that everyone knows that makes BLB a classic destination.
If you haven't tried their breakfasts, you should.
Darrell Williams
My first time there in years, but had a great time!! My wife's company party there was fun. See they have play's there now too. Many people walking around the area enjoying uptown life! Go there and have a good time!!
Amy Lauria
Bryant Lake Bowl is a fun place to hang out and eat. Their bowling alley is very old school which is a lot of fun. They have a great menu with lots of local beverages. They also have some gluten items. I highly recommend them for a fun night out.
Meghan Scott
Delicious food and a fun, retro atmosphere. Reasonable prices too. I had a blast bowling and eating with friends, and it's cool that you can see shows as well!
Jill Kobilka
BLB is a Minneapolis institution for a reason. I have so many memories here bowling with friends, going on first dates, and passing through for a quick drink before other LynLake shenanigans. They have great cocktails, lots of beer options, and delicious food. If you're never been, you gotta go!
Mark Burman
Always a great atmosphere. Had a good brunch, and they had some vegan options for my daughter. Then did some laid back bowling with a nice selection of beers.
Charles Vittitow
Good people; good food. However, a bit pricey. We were also rushed off our lane with little warning to make room for league bowling.
scott soule
Bryant lake bowl is a really great venue to see theatre productions, or music, or comedy shows, or all of them at once.
Enjoy great food and drink while doing so. And if you still need more stimulus after that, you can bowl a few games at one of the finest lanes the city has to offer! Thanks for listening
Nick Boon
This place is a great date night spot! The food is unique and the bowling is old school, no TVs keeping score, just good old fashioned pen and paper!
Matthew Zwilling
Friendly bartender. Building and equipment is a bit divey/dirty but it's part of it's charm.
T G
Been many times over the years as friends like this place. Good food and hip atmosphere. Fun to bowl on the old lanes and watch the ball jump around. Wait staff generally not attentive and sometimes rude.
Kate L
Great atmosphere, good taps, usually good food.
The dining area and bar are pretty standard, but what makes BLB special is it's old-fashioned bowling alley (no gutter bumpers or electronic scoring keeping here!) and it's theater spaces.
I'd give it 5 stars, but I've had the occasional subpar dish (last time my "loaded"guac was really just a plate of nacho chips with a small dollop of guac and other sparse toppings; mostly plain chips) and sometimes I've had bad service. Not the norm, though. Mostly, this place is a quality establishment.
Matt Kernler
Farrah is a great bartender, as well as a wonderful human being!!
Michelle Lindau
Adorable spot to eat, bowl, and catch a show. If you are attending- they do serve inside the theater as well as in the restaurant. Options for just about everyone to enjoy.
Alessandra G
bowling, fun drinks, cute food, 10/10
Duccio Mondanelli
Very fun place to spend an evening. Burgers are very good (try the El Toro!), beer selection is great and bowling is always fun. Haven't tried the theater yet but I'll be back!
Justin Talamantes
Happy hour here is super good! Cheap and the bartenders are beautiful.. happy to leave a good review here.
Ruth Smith
very cool place to bowl!
Lauren Kortbein
Fun place!! I loved bowling, especially because you can drink during! The new outside seating is perfect to grab a drink and people/car watch.
Stephen Gray
Love the breakfast. Any other meal tends to be overpriced. Great atmosphere. Decent bowling alley if you're not playing competitively. Staff are A+.
Corey vesey
B B B N more Bz swarming the places so so many B$ tons of em @ the Bryant lake Bowl! Never seen so so many B$ in one. well si× but B$ n more B everywhere @ The Bryant Lake Bowl can't miss them Bz!!!!

Erin Toner
What's not to love? Pretty great beer list, decent food, and a homey atmosphere. Plus, the bowling makes for a great activity with new friends or old friends from out of town.
Tierney Fawbush
Got a burger there and there was a hair made into my patty. Notified the waiter and she took it off the bill, but seemed a bit resentful with my friend and I about it like it was our fault. Bowled a round and it was fun. Old school lanes and score keeping though.
Ryan Hanson
I don't care what anyone says, this is the best pad thai that I have ever had. I have brought many girlfriends and friends here and they love it. The lanes are pretty run down, but still worth playing. They do little stand up comedy in the back room at times, which is sub par, but still fun. The bar is cool and laid back, as well. One girlfriend got a lamb burger once here that I would not recommend at all. Other than that... get the pad thai...seriously.
Matthew Carper
Went for the chance to bowl with my kids and eat food and we will go back but food we chose (nachos) could have been better. Enjoyable historic bowling alley even with the quirks of old age.
Kimberly Bell
Cozy, old-time bowling. Great nachos and tap selections! The theater often features up and coming artists, in a very unique and welcoming environment. This place is a staple of Minneapolis!
Aaron Williams
They manage to do a lot of stuff really well under one roof. Food and beverages are good. Both the bowling alley and theater are... cozy, but a lot of fun.
Tommy G Richter
If I could marry the Mac And Cheese, death would part us too soon, because it's too delicious. Also, great blend of venue. Bowling, Restaurant, AND Theater. All a quality time.
mary davis Racciatti
I love love love this quirky wonderland The menu is eclectic and delicious, the staff is like old friends and the bowling alley is just good low key fun. The shows! - have to check out the shows.
Todd Walden
The food is decent and the atmosphere is great. The mixed drinks were terrible, so stick with beer or cider. Definitely a good place to have fun with friends.
Patrick Schnell
Definitely try the Monday Cheap Date Night. When I went it was $30 for a meal for two, a bottle of (kind of poor) wine and a game of bowling. The food is good but can be outdone on Lyndale or Hennepin for a similar price. The draw is the bowling, bar, and events.
Preston Daniel Grant
Lifesaver! Up Down was packed and we wanted a group to be able to talk and hang out while playing a game. This place is it. I've gone on dates here (they have a deal for a date night), I've gone bowling late night, I've seen theatre here. Love BLB&T.
Sharon Her
My go-to spot in Mpls. Low key, eclectic menu, chill vibes, & great selection of taps. Good place for a low key evening out.
Johnathan Bravo
Had a great time, everyone was kind right off the bat, with the exception of the older gentleman with the glasses came off like he was in some sort of mood. Food/drink/vibe and bowling was great. Highly recommend.
Tilda “Tipsy” Meringue
Love love love Bryant Lake Bowl. New ownership (bye-bye bartmann) is a super rad person and the establishment remains lbgtq+ owned and friendly!
The pad thai with mock duck is my go to, bowling is always fun but make sure you download a score keeping app.
Danny Allen
Cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the pad thai bowl. The best I've ever had including numerous Thai restaurants.
Also loved the Cold pressed coffee stout.
Barry Kennedy
This bar is a casual neighborhood pub without being either a dive bar, too hipster, or full of "Uptown" dudebros. It has a decent beer selection, friendly and competent staff, good bar food, and a comfortable atmosphere
Rob Liebhart
Tasty food in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere! Service was just OK on a slow weeknight, but we had a good time bowling on the vintage lanes.
Dustin Antoine
Always a good time whether you are bowling, eating, drinking, or gping to a show in their small but tasteful music venue. A bit crowded at times, but usually not too long of a wait.
peter cotroneo
This place is legit, old school bowling, good beer selection and good food options for all diets. This place definitely embodies uptown.
Carol Behmlander
Wow Very unexpected surprise people are nice menu absolutely great a lot of vegan and vegetarian options and cold beer and bowling what more could you ask for I will be back very soon 10 ☆
Michael Metzler
Funky old timey bowling lanes with a damn good restaurant, a great bar and a theater. Battered but quaint, not too be missed.
Aurelie O'sullivan
We went there to see a play called Phylloxera! Presented by Commutator Collective and written by Marge. This was a brillant interactive show, hilarious, bonkers, and genius! Being able to eat while watching it was a great bonus too! We will come back for more shows for sure, or just for a game of bowling and beer!
Edgar Alfonzo
Good Food & Service!!
Brandy F
I was there for a holiday work party and they took care of us! The drinks were strong-I had the streetfighter. Food was yummy but the bowling shoes need repair! I will visit again...
Taylor Scandia
Bryant Lake Bowl is a great neighborhood asset. As someone previously mentioned, we love this place! The only reason I'm giving it four-stars is due to how busy it gets on the weekend. Keep up the good work!
Miquel Medina
With a bowling alley, a small theater, and a full bar and restaurant, Bryant-Lake is a huge attraction to the LynLake area of Uptown. The establishment frequently tops charts for best places to bring a date, and for good reasons; not least of which is the Monday night Date Night special, featuring two prix fixe entrees, a bottle of wine or four tap beers, and a round of bowling for two for about $30. Bryant-Lake is also a great place to grab a bloody for Sunday brunch.
Daniel Gerdes
Incredibly friendly service, surprisingly excellent menu, and all around top notch experience. Had the Bowl-Bim-Bop, didn't expect to get such delicious Korean food at a bowling alley, but would highly recommend it.
Nate Anderson
One of my favorite UpTown bars, great local beer always on tap. Great food, just nice bar type food. Outdoor seating is great when it is warm!
JL “J A” A
I'm glad to see them serving food and drinks even with all of the Covid limitations. Having a beer on the sidewalk patio is better than no beer, or worse, no Bryant Lake Bowl.
Emily Pruitt
Had a lot of fun, the service is good and the food was way above the standards I would have thought for a bowling ally/ bar. Bowling was really cheap. Would def come back again!
Jared Soldiviero
An uptown fixture, affordable bowling, great pub food, fun people and a great atmosphere!
Thomas Story
Delicious sandwiches. Chill people serving. Classic bowling sounds in the background. Wished I lived closer. It would totally be a place I would be bring out of town guests to impress them.
Katie Johnson
I've been here many a time but I'm new to reviewing things on Google and I'm here to say I love this place!! I went here tonight for a fun night with my boyfriend and some friends and it did not disappoint. We'll be back!
Aaron T. Rose
Friendly staff, excellent food, great drinks. Always a good experience.
Brandon Henry
Cheap date night is a steal! $30 for dinner, bowling, and a bottle of wine. The staff was wonderful and the old school feel of the bowling alley was wonderful.
Willard Ward
An awkward bow signalled the end. He waited eagerly as the crowd remained silent. As on cue, the numbers leapt from their seats, hollering illustrious praises over one another. At last the moment had come, waves of emotion crashed against him as he fought to hold his composure. "Now let's see them laugh at me," he muttered under his breath.
Best bowling in town!
Diana “Electric” Current
Great food, drinks were off, even the non alcoholic drinks, I sent it back
Morgan Roddy
Never had a bad time here, or bad food, or bad service. Lots of fun and a bit of a nice throwback. Good beer choices and surprisingly good food for a bowling alley. Will always come back and bring pals along.
Randall Cottrell
Great prices for bowling, beer and food. Beware of the old lanes though, you'll have to adapt quickly or spend your evening in the gutters.
Joel Vanderveen
What fun! The fact we had to score our own bowling made it much more fun with friends. Good drinks and the nachos were awesome!
Cody Hein
Excellent place for some cheap bowling and a wonderful time. Great food and drink selections. Manual counting and playing has a way different feel to the game
Alex Rose
One of the best cheap brunches in the city. I always get the special scramble (changes every week) and an Amanda's Rock N' Roller Bloody Mary. Spicy and delicious. It'll cure a hangover real fast.
Jakenbakery
To be clear, I neither ate nor bowled here. I was at a guitar recital, and the theater and downstairs green room were both a bit disorganized but extremely comfortable. Very crowded, but was still a nice environment.
Shaimaa
Wonderful atmosphere with a great selection of beer! Lovely staff too. Highly recommend!
Kyle Wilman
This is an uptown staple. The food is great, especially brunch, the service is always great and it a great place to bring friends etc to bowl. I haven't checked out the theatre but there's that too.
John W
Very good food. I like the cubano sandwich. They have had improv in the back theater once when I went here. The beer and food are delicious. Have not tried the bowling alley.
Gregory Harlin
Great place for date night and there after, very casual and lowkey environment! Ole School style bowling lanes, with an attached theater. Eat, bowl, and catch a show...3 for 1 can't loose
Brady Ysker-Giefer
Classic bowling with great food and beer in the heart of uptown. One of the main uptown spots that's still left amid the rapid development and new apartment complexes.
Paige Clark
Great place for a cheap date night! They offer bowling, good food, good service, and a good beer selection. This is a staple to my visits to Uptown
Rachel Sporer
I love this place! They have delicious vegetarian options and good service. The beer selection is good, but I didn't love the bloody Mary.
Teoh Zheyi
Good food and beer selection. Happy Hour on Sunday has discounted beer and bowling fees. You have to self score here which is cool
Dan Wenzel
Old-school, self-scoring bowling alley with a great beer selection. A heck of a lot of fun, however if you expect your spin to catch right on however they wax those lanes then you are out of luck my friend.
David Holt
Hands down the best place to bowl in the Twin Cities! Fun atmosphere, great food and amazing prices. You may have to wait to bowl, but it is always worth it.
Cory Allen 1975
Great lil classic bar/bowl/food spot. Excellent service have yet to bowl or try the food.
Darnell Otterson
Watched A Very Die Hard Christmas musical. Great comic relief. Very meta, and fun all around.
Amy Nelson
A staple im the community and a must visit for atmosphere! Whether you're bowling or just grabbing a bite, youre gonna be happy!
Joe H
Can't beat the BLB for a place that does a bunch of wonderful things; bowling, beer, bawdy entertainment, bites, and other things that begin with 'b'. They somehow manage to marry these disparate things into a wonderful place to hang out, dine out, or just have fun. Whatever the night calls for the BLB seems to answer it and answer it well. Also, you cannot beat the value of Cheap Date Night on Mondays. It's great!
Ashley J. Peters
Love watching shows or performances here. The staff always do a great job even when the place is packed. Beer and food are great, too!
Allie Boran
Small place but good atmosphere!
Emily C
Great retro atmosphere, pretty good food, and the bowling looked like fun but it was too long of a wait on a busy holiday afternoon.
Amy Leija
I love coming here! The vibe is always great and their carnitas tacos are SO GOOD 🌮 🔥
Reed Saunders
A must go uptown spot. Prices are a tad high, but the experience is so fun, it's worth it. Some great shows in the theater too. This place is an institution.
Trisha Rutten
This place is awesome. Great Monday Date night special! The bowling alley is so cool. Old Style. Very cool.
jasiu raczynski
This place is awesome. Cheap bowling and beers, relaxed atmosphere. Date night special is great too.
Mitch Nesset
Good food, cool atmosphere and outdoor seating, mediocre service as the wait staff are often rude. The bowling alley is really poor quality as well, but fun.
Sabrina Spörk Woodling
I really enjoy the bowling! The only reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars is because everything is simply good, not excellent: the food, the service and the drink selection.
Ian Ronningen
Great space that is part restaurant, part bowling alley, part theater. Fun drink menu with good beer, cheap drinks and fun staff. Go for fun bowling, good food and a great beer menu.
Daniel Harvey
Had a great show there small old dive kind of otherwise I don't know much about it or its food but if you like bowling or hanging out with your friends locally that could be a place you check out
Ruben Ybarra
Great Atmosphere ! Fun, Friendly Staff Very Good Hamburgers!! Street Parking ugh..... Definitely Going Back to Bowl and See A Show.
Laurencio Ronquillo
Excellent fund friendly professional service. Great fun place with nice menu and good old fun. Food was really good and price value is decent. I will be back.
Atzín Rayas Fernández
Super fun! Pretty busy so wait staff might take a whole to get to you and you'll probably have to quit a little bit to bowl on Sundays, but overall a great place!
Amy Glasby
The mahi tacos were good, a bit pricey for no side...not welcoming when came in, clearly I hadn't been there before. The kicker was being charged for refill of ice tea, c'mon this is not Europe!
Sarah Lamberty
This is one of my favorite spots in uptown Minneapolis! Awesome food and the bowling is great. The staff is always great as well!
Arletha Johnson
Old school had to write down score they need to upgrade but I had fun. Friendly staff awesome place but better with an upgrade...
Dakota Orf
Cool little tavern with some bowling alleys. The Rachel I got there was awesome, and the beer was good. Bartender was awesome too.
River J.
Good food, good service. A little more on the pricier side than entry indicates, but worth it. Also the person sitting near us has a real nice laugh.
Eli Cizewski-Robinson
A very unique Minneapolis institution. Great food, beer selection, cocktails. It also has bowling and an attached theater space.
Jamie Olenchak Arold
Cute place. Very warm and welcoming. Great burgers and all the sides to choose from. Excellent service.
Kezia Germ
Great service and ambiance. The theater space is great and offers quirky fun shows, and the bowling is good vintage fun.
Erik Pasco
I like that you can order food from your seat during the concert, but I wish the majority of the seating wasn't from an angle. It's not like that's an easy fix though. I guess that's just part of what makes it quaint.
jl hatlen linnell
Theater space is cramped but adequate. Waitstaff was remarkably helpful and on the ball. And the villification show is a lot of laughs, I'll be back!
Christopher Kibbons
Attended a private Christmas party here. The theatre was a little cramped, but served our needs. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Brent Garrow
Corporate event, the food was OK, didn't see a smile from any staff members. It is a quirky place that can be fun if your with the right crowd.
Timothy Stauffer
Only 8 or 10 lanes. Great environment, have to know how to score bowling though, because you are given a score card, not a screen.
Patti Kimble
Very good food, great staff, and fun environment.
David Vazquez
Uptown classic. Overall chill vibe. Burgers are good, not great or poor. The bowling is pretty cheap, which is nice
Alli Tripp
Wonderful food, drinks and entertainment. Great gluten free options, fun bowling and hilarious theater shows
Eric Jeffreys-Berns
Cute idea but I like modern over old and broken. There was a work party while there and they completely took over the whole place. Huge buffet table you could barely get by.
Josh Bosch
Great food and fun atmosphere. Check out the Saved By The Bell performances they do in the small theater thats attached! Great date night location!
Jason Westerkon
Nice draft list with friendly staff. Food looks too fancy to be prepared in a makeshift kitchen. Lanes look fun enough but could be modernized.
Jack Sankot
Great food and vibes
Jon Zwilling
Severely good soul food had the pork roast and it made me not only full but feel like I was eating a home cooked meal definitely coming back.
Amy McDonald
The Cobb salad was the best I have every eaten anywhere. On a sunny day, the outdoor seating is on direct sunlight!
Mike B
I've seen some amazing shows on the stage and bowled some terrible games. Foods above average and you can even order/eat in the theater.
Bridget Conley
Monday night date night is a good deal! Our waitress seemed like she was having a grumpy day, but the rest of the staff was very nice.
Mike Peterson
Great menu of some out of the ordinary things. I'm hooked on stopping in most every time I'm in town. Love the fact that the place (surroundings) hasn't changed in years.
Morgan Nelson
Happy Hour deals are good and bowling is fun. Lanes are not completely flat but still fun to play on.
Beth Barnes
I come here every December to see the one showing of Villification Tennis. This years performance was exceptional. Always good grub here.
Jeff H
We've been there twice now. The first time we had breakfast and it was very good. The second time we had dinner and it was okay. Service was adequate.
Chad Smith
Three stars for the unique venue to see a show. The service in the bar/restaurant portion is reasonably efficient but I'd be hard pressed to call them friendly.
Tim Brumley
Good food. Good service
Shad Holland
Great place....A Minneapolis classic! Seems the food quality has dropped a little recently. Hopefully it doesn't stay that way because I have been going there for years.
David Thomas-Jensen
If you live uptown you don't need my recommendation. That said it's a bot crowded and by no means cozy. Date night bowling is nuts book ahead.
Stefanie Henjum
Really delicious food and the little theater is a great spot. Nice and intimate and you can eat and drink during the show.
Jordan Cole
Food is ok. Cool ambiance and good drink selection. They have killer Bloody Mary's.
Alex Beck
Great place to go for a bite and a few games of bowling. Really like the old school vibe and not having automatic score keeping was fun!
Rachel Kristyniak
I stopped by Bryant-Lake Bowl to meet with my girlfriend and catch up. We had delicious chili and wonderful service! Thank you!
Javon Padgett
Cute AF. Foods dope! Bowling is a different experience. I almost really like bowling when at this restaurant.
Jens Holmboe
The food here is great and just the right amount. Not a family place as the tables are small but a great place to sit and talk over outstanding food.
Stephen Anderson
My wife goes bowling every Wednesday but I'm never invited! She says it's fun though!
CherylM
Why haven't I been coming here forever? Real, diverse, artsy crowd, good menu, great happy hour deals, friendly service... A dive to crave.

cassondra henning

Food and Drinks are great. Bowling is bad. Lanes are always too dry. Gets crowded easily in the evenings.
Kyle Schultz

Great breakfast. For many years. I don't bowl or go to their theater so I can't comment on that.
Joshua Johnson
This place was great. The food was really good and the atmosphere was so unique. I loved it
Spencer Wishart
Awesome bartender. Ordered some local lager similar to Lonestar. Was good and the bartender hooked me up with a free koozie
Todd Husom
Love this place, as a long time Mineapolis boy I dig this place. Bahn Mi hit the spot! I dig the bowling and how involved in the community they are.
Sierra Stewart
Fun place for a drink, bowling, or dinner. Relaxed environment for a casual date or hang out with friends.
