Reviews of Brasa Premium Rotisserie- Northeast Minneapolis
Rasikanand Harvind
Delicious! I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing. Just something simple and good. Definitely met that expectation. You order from your phone after scanning a QR code. Food comes out in 10 minutes. Water and extras like boxes and additional napkins and utensils are self-service. Probably because of this, they don't charge tips. Which I very much admire. Overall, a great experience.

Brasa is our favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities - the food is always delicious, I love how they incorporate specials into the monthly menus and the staff is very friendly & prompt. If you have any event (wedding, party, etc.) their catering team is AMAZING. They catered our wedding last month and were nothing short of incredible & everyone said the food was the best wedding food they had ever had!
Bruce Lewin
Short version: go there. The food is great, and the prices didn't make me feel like i was getting robbed. The outside seating is pleasantly shaded.
We got the chilaquiles, baked mac & cheese, and Yucca wedges/fries.
Our 9 year old daughter ate (and liked!) The baked mac & cheese. It was made with obviously real cheese, and had good flavor.
The yucca wedges were tasty, and came with a *delicious* dipping sauce. The wedges had a dusting of seasoning that improved the taste, but didn't overwhelm the slightly sweet taste of the yucca. Would absolutely buy again.
The chilaquiles were very good... honestly much better than we expected. I would have liked a bit more salsa verde, but i would still definitely order it again. The chicken had a *very* good flavor.
There were several vegetarian options that sounded *very good*.

Probably my favorite spot for a family style dinner. Every dish on their menu is great to share! We usually order several small sides and the a la carte rotisserie chicken! I recommend this for a family dinner or a simple date night!
adriana lee
Food was beyond amazing, service was prompt, employees were amazing, I loved the no tipping part and taxes being included in the price. Will definitely come back, but with more people.
Melody McConico
Brasa never disappoints. I used to be a regular to Brasa over 14 years ago. I moved back home, and the food is still so amazing. I'm glad that I stopped by!
M L
Small place with limited parking but the food and service were outstanding. Every side was delicious and the pork bowl and sandwich were phenomenal. Would highly recommend to others for good food and portion sizes.
Joy Dunna
This was an unexpected find! The food was delicious and accommodates a lot of different dietary needs (gluten free, dairy free, vegan). Our food came out quickly and the staff was friendly.
Jon Seilkop
Someplace different and totally worth trying. Excellent Food, Excellent Service, unique menu and a no-tip policy... planning to go back again!!!
Jill Dahlke
Great location and service. I had the smothered chicken bowl with red sauce. Very good. Wanted more chicken in bowl for the chips. The yuca didn't taste fresh but was ok.
Kassidy Lithgow
By far my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis! It is some of the best food ever!
LOVE the chicken, collard greens, sweet potatoes, creamed spinach. The yuca fries are just *okay.* I love the brasa vinegar hot sauce they provide on each table.
The lemon buttermilk pound cake is a MUST! It's so good.
We come here every time we come for a Vikings game. Highly recommend!
Jill Barrette
Not only is the food good enough on its own to make me want to come back, but their business model makes me happy to support their local business so much more. The quality of the food is never lacking. Whether dining in or taking out, I have always enjoyed and been satisfied with the meals I have ordered. Watching dishes being brought out to other diners here is one of the most mouthwatering experiences, and I always end up wanting to try more than just what I ordered.
Adam Borgstahl
Staff seemed a little confused when we arrived so it took a hot minute for a seat. Food is beyond delicious, have to get the catfish plate every time. Cooked perfectly and that spicy mayo is a deadly combo. The chicken is also perfection on a plate! You pretty much can't go wrong with anything from the menu. Our hands down favorite side is the red beans with yellow rice! We sometimes go specifically to just get that for takeout.
Christian's Lum
This is the most moist, flavorful, wonderful chicken that I have ever tasted in my entire life. Well priced for a meal that you deserve. And a wonderful location. I traveled from St Paul to here for this meal. Well worth the drive. Well worth the wait. The people are friendly, courteous and very kind. Food is plentiful. This has been a wonderful experience. You need to try this place. They also cater awesome.
Emiel Gregor
Great service! Went in for lunch. The fried fish and slow roasted pork were excellent! The creamed spinach, cornbread, and chips / guacamole are must have side items too. Most items are gluten free too.
Maya Mason
Used them to cater a groom's dinner. They were super easy to work with and the food was super good. The delivery driver was super on time and gave easy to understand instructions. We got lots of compliments from our guests on the food. Bonus that their catering prices are much less than many other restaurants. 100% would recommend them to cater an event.
Katelyn Regenscheid
Brasa just catered my wedding and I could not recommend them highly enough! Our guests raved about the food, and everyone had more than enough to eat. The staff took amazing care of us all day and really went above and beyond at every turn!
Cal P
The service was fast and friendly. We came during the lunch rush on a Friday and were able to be seated immediately. It’s a smaller space and it was busy. The “garage doors” open during the summer and give more outdoor seating. They also have a cozy fire pit to hang around outside.
The food was delicious. The fried plantains were well made and tasted great. The chicken has amazing flavor and sauces pair very nicely. The grits were very good. It is a bit spendy for the portion size.
Chelsea Forbrook -9 Epic Journeys
This is literally my favorite place in town. I always just have our table order all the sides and share them to create the best meal ever! Hot tip: eat the cornbread for dessert.
Juan Panora
Brunch here can be crowded. Only negative is the place is too small, but they have other locations that are suited for bigger groups! The Roasted Pork Bowl surprised me and my taste buds. Sabroso 🤤
Jordan Peacock
Cozy little restaurant on Hennepin Avenue, just east of the downtown area. Great rotisserie chicken and pulled pork and sides. The sweet cornbread makes for a great dessert! I look forward to checking this place out again sometime during the warmer months, as it looks like they've got some nice outdoor seating.
Toby
Excellent food! Very nice way to order food as sit down and pay from your phone. Great service and very fast to get your food.
Quinn Kaplan
Amazing quality food at a good price for the amount of food you get. Definitely a great place to grab food whenever you're in the area!
Joseph Jacob
Wow, fantastic Creole food. Local owners and spectacular service. Don't let the outside appearance scare you away; the food is phenomenal!
Leah Brooks
There's nothing exemplary about this spot and that's exactly what I liked about it. Good home style food that fills you up and leaves you satisfied. It's not greasy and salty, but rather comforting and tasty. The atmosphere outside was casual and our pup was welcome on the patio. The vegan platter with red beans was great, and the fried yucca was some of the better yucca I've had.
Andrew Sean
With an extensive menu of quality southern cooking made from fresh, local ingredients, Brasa is one of my favorite restaurants to visit in the Twin Cities for food to warm the body and soul. I particularly enjoy coming here with groups of people, allowing us to order a variety of dishes and share them.
There is nothing on this menu that I would not recommend. I generally do not eat meat, but this is one of few circumstances where I regularly deviate. All of the food is expertly prepared, and I trust and am ethically comfortable with the sourcing of the ingredients.
If you have not been to Brasa yet, I would recommend a visit with a group of friends and/or family.
Travis Gylling
Great flavor and quick service. The chips are very crunchy. Watch your credit card because my card was charged three times and be prepared to order on your phone. The manager had to fix my bill. FYI sitting inside is a bit loud.
Christopher Davis
Really great food and service. I had the smoked beef plate with rice and peas: it was all very tasty. My companion’s chorizo and potato bowl was also amazing.
Their beer selection, while not large, included some really fine stuff on tap.
Jake Dasilveira
My partner and I have been frequenting Brasa for years. Great vegan options for her, and I love the rotisserie chicken. The black beans and rice are some of the best in town :)
Staff are always competent, and seem to care about the customer experience. I will continue to support these folks.
Keesha Mason
Outstanding food! It is a great spot for vegetarians and vegans. I usually order pick up however the service was so awesome I stayed. Mikal is an exceptional server who truly cares about people have a great experience and relaxing. I highly recommend this place and great service
Danielle Niemi
You CANNOT go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich! All of the sides we're amazing. It is a rotisserie, but there are vegetarian options that are AMAZING! the fried plantains, mashed yams, and house coleslaw were delicious!
Lori Willis
Great service. Patio is comfortable. Food is amazing! Pulled pork, creamed spinach and an egg-over easy? I mean, who thought that would be so delicious? (I'm glad they did!!!!)
Lara González
As a Puerto Rican celiac, this place warms my heart and stomach. The food is legit! It’s gluten free. It’s beautifully prepared. Is filling and delicious!! It’s crave-able and that means I’ll be back!
Trevor Rolfes
Great food. Ready very quickly. Service was lacking. Seemed like newer employees. Others I was with said the service is usually much better.
Jason Velcheck
Small dining space. Kinda fun if you don't get stuck next to a loud mouth that cannot modulate the volume of his voice? Had the gumbo; it was decent but nothing to brag about. Plenty of shrimp, had to search for the sausage and eggs? They serve Mexican Coke in a bottle and domestic Diet Coke in a can. The gumbo has a bit of heat and having to ration the Coca Cola while eating; not a fan. I have not tried the market price smoked meats. Perhaps that is the gem of this restaurant? Took a bit to get beverages delivered to the table, food was presented very quick after ordering, and the wait staff were all pleasant.
Brandon Davis
Look. Everything here is good. Order whatever, it will be awesome. I love the pork bowl with rice and egg. The staff is awesome too.
amy maki
Gluten free friendly! It was my first time and it was delicious, good portions, great price! My son also loved it he took big bites of his grilled cheese then played their corn hole!
Nick Burge
Visiting for the Final Four...Go Red Raiders!!! Found this place based on the reviews and would definitely recommend. Friendly, knowledgeable staff helped us choose multiple items to share. Cornbread is delicious. Meats were tender and had good flavor. Get extra red sauce, you won't be disappointed.
Edward Oakes
Food is sometimes excellent but often inconsistent. The portion sizes can also be suspect at times (see attached photo of a $14 fried catfish “plate”). Still worth a visit but you’re likely to be disappointed on occasion.
Patrick Ranville
Excellent food! The flavors they put together are spot on. Don't tamper with their menu items; they know what they're doing!
Daniel Anzanello
Helpful staff, amazing food. If you like sweet plantains you will struggle to find better that here. Chicken was yummy.
Victor Cole
I would eat here every day if I could... there's a variety of options, and all delicious. Midday was ideal... on a later summer afternoon, sitting outside.
Colette Welch
I've dined in ordered take out and had catered events and I love it every time! You just have to try it for yourself 😋
Jon Will
If you are a foodie, or looking for something different to try; you have to go to BRASA. My fav was the Pulled pork, Rotisserie chicken with a pint of Tiger Pale Ale. Due to the great service and food I will be returning for more!
Hakeem Bilal
Great Rotisserie chicken and the sweet plantains are delicious! Collard greens could use some salt/vinegar but the texture is there. For $2 more you can keep your pint glass
Duncan Shannon
Lots of great meats and sides. Definitely worth a stop or four. Try the house vinegar on everything! Great ambiance.
Andy Walker
Our food came phenomenally quick, and was absolutely delicious! You can bet I'll be back at Brasa one of the next times I'm in the cities.
A M
The collard greens here taste sooooooooo good! And so is their Maza cake and cornbread. You can't go wrong with whatever you order from here, everything is delicious. Their sangria is pretty tasty as well. I didn't really like their homemade lemonade, it was too sweet for me. They have indoor and patio sitting available.
Stacy Suarez
With all the great food in the cities it's easy to forget the old Staples.
After sparking my memory how amazing Brasa is, I vow to never let this happen again.
Emily
Love the food but takeout orders vary grossly on quantities. A large order typically consists of half a quart container - I think it equals about a pint. It's alarming to open your large and see it half full. Very expensive prices for small quantities. I attached a photo for reference of a "large" that comes half-full.
PolythPam
Enjoyed a family style dinner and it was super fresh, hot, and tasty. Staff was great, service quick and efficient, and the atmosphere lively! Pleasantly surprised by the bar dessert... an actual chocolate bar!
Laura Graves
Easy, great food 🌮! …
Christina Lund
Brasa is always good. The food, the ambiance, the staff; you name it, they excel at it. Great spot for lunch or dinner. I recently had the catered version. It was also as delicious and great for a crowd!
Conrad Magalis
Food is hearty and filling. Unique Caribbean soulfood and rotisserie-style fair. Service is a little slow, since it's always extremely busy.
J X
Very good! Food was excellent. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. Gluten free claims were legit, thankfully, and I didn't get sick.
Would recommend.
alysha bellamy
Food is usually pretty good, some days not so much. Today was a good day! Please clean your fryer
Monica Garcia
I love that they finally put their cost into their showcase prices and there are no surprises anymore. I am all for fair wages but it always feels odd that they charge random percentages for food as if preparing a coke is the same to preparing pulled pork. Their food is delicious and it is my comfort food. I have learned to order the right amount of plates without breaking the piggy bank.
I like their update on the fast-food like ordering, it makes sense. But also that they have a pleasant dine in experience. My favorite plates are chicken (of course), pulled pork, rice and black beans, collard greens, and sweet plantains. the Family meal is a good deal and I want them to keep it. Easy to order and delicious. Keep it up Brasa, you bring me home everytime I eat your food. Thank you!
Jason Stempel
We love ordering from Brasa. Our go-to is the 4 peice chicken all breasts and wings, a large candied yam, and sweet plantains. Everything is delish! We place the order online and it’s ready for pickup in 15 minutes. Brasa is perfect.
Evan Jones
So good! Had the fish bowl, chips and guac and candied yams. Everything was perfect.
tyler Smith
This place is close to my office, highly recommended if you are looking for healthy lunch options.
fried yuca and a cold beer are the perfect match for this.
its a must!
Judy
Flavorful food/Great service
Its my 2nd time coming here and I am never disappointed. I think my 2nd time was actually better than my first. Our server was so friendly and helpful in providing feedback and answerinf our questions so we could make a good decision on what to eat.
The food comes out fast. The food tastes delicious. Lots of flavor. Their Spicy Masa Corn cake is a must order and their pulled meat is always tender and packed with flavor.
Sharon Yang
super comforting, flavorful food. got the chilaquiles for lunch – came back the next day for a second bowl. perfectly crunchy and pleasantly spicy. hoping to try the rotisserie chicken next time around!
Nancy Lo
One of my go to places for good rotisserie chicken. I often get the chicken plate with black beans and rice. I have also had the guacamole and corn bread which were excellent.
Bridget Fragale
I can't get enough! Gluten free, pescatarian, veg, and all the tasty meats! I can eat here with my friends who have varying diets and everyone loves it! Happy hour is a great deal and a fantastic way to sample all the things! You're the best, Brasa!
Lexi Reins
Always really delicious food and kind staff. I live and work close enough that I go there pretty frequently, and it's never been bad. Even when they're slammed, the quality is always there (and I get the egg dish a lot, so props to them for always cooking it perfectly no matter what!)
Andrew Knapp
I think I posted this review 5 years ago, but Brasa is still my second-favorite restaurant after Yuma's legendary Chile Pepper. I've tried most of the menu, but the creamed chicken is my go-to. The rice and peas sofrito is the greatest side dish of all time, and I'll happily die on that hill. Masa cakes are also an essential ingredient for life.
Elia Zanella
Love love love this place and all they stand for! Delicious food and amazing people work here. It is a no tip environment and with the set prices they have they give their employees a proper wage, benefits, etc.. The food is always consistent - highly recommend the Yuca fries and fried plantains. It’s also gluten free minus a few small items so they are conscious of food allergies
Jacob Casey
Nothing screams America like digging into a rotisserie chicken for dinner! It's no Costco $5 deal but it's still pretty darn good!
Tessa Hrkal
We are HUGE Brasa fans, so we thought it'd be perfect to have them cater at our wedding. Needless to say, the entire catering staff killed it. Everyone was so professional and the food was top notch! Our guests couldn't stop talking about how good dinner was. The notorious green sauce, BBQ beef, and candied yams were among the favorites of the night. We are also so grateful for the to go meals they packed up for my partner and I to bring home. We cannot recommend Brasa catering enough!
J W-W
Our first time eating here. We went for happy hour and loved it. The manager was awesome the food was awesome , great prices and cute atmosphere. We love that they take such good care of their employees, the food is organic and they use sustainable products and NO straws. Good for Brasa. We will definitely be back, as these are the kind of places we like to support and keep in business. ( pulled pork nachos to die for!)
bryan young
The catfish and rotisserie chicken are unbeatable. Corn muffins are 20/10.
Sweet potatoes with andouille sausage is heaven.
Love this place.
Suzanne Durkacs
Freshly made food is so tasty! I had the vegan bowl with red beans, yellow rice and fried yucca, and it comes with a small salad. The pork bowl looked yummy too, my hubby ate it all up! My rice and beans were plenty filling, so I saved some of the leftovers (dorerpoint) for lunch. Fast friendly service. Sometimes parking is a pain, but today I got rockstar parking!
Faith Ikede
Really good food options. The people and service are nice. Their special house sides are really good. It's a no tipping restaurant.
jay chaney
Great food and good service. Manager Miguel definitely is doing a Great job satisfying customers. Thanks again and see you soon.
Alisha Gelhar
For years, Brasa has been a consistent local favorite. I am not usually a fan of à la carte style menus, but Brasa has a great mix of main courses and savory sides. My recent favorite is the slow roasted pork plate, with plantains, collared greens and candied yams on the side!
Eric Klis
After all these years, still a great place - high-quality food that tastes amazing and isn't stupidly expensive. Highlights for us include the chips and guac, fried yucca, creamed spinach with jalapeno, the pulled chicken with gravy... Also great option for takeout when you have to feed several different mouths with different dietary needs.
Michael Splendore
service was awesome! good vibes all around! try the pound cake!
Rene Alvarado
Love this location and the St. Paul's location. Excellent service from both and great food. Minneapolis staff has a good memory of who me, my wife and son are.
Beyza
Great restaurant with flavorful food. Expect to order and pay via your cellphone- there’s a self serve water/utensils/spice station so there is minimal waitress contact (I enjoyed the experience). Everything on the menu is fantastic, food made with love. Portions could be bigger for the price of the meals but the establishment is a non tipping business so that is factored. You won’t be disappointed. Go now!
Ray Wu
Cozy little space that serves fantastic Southern-inspired slow cooked meats. Friendly staff and great food.
Dave C
First time coming here and I will definitely go back when I'm in the area. The food was great and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Bill B
Small corner restaurant with cute outdoor seating area. A few tables inside, more outside. Order at the table with an app, food is brought out to you. Rotisserie chicken was very good. Sides were good. Tilapia pieces were small and slightly over cooked. Menu was not what we expected but had some good choices. Check the menu online before going if you're not sure. Price was a bit high for the product and atmosphere. Staff was great. Overall good experience.
Jennifer Lenander
My husband and I were looking for a place to go before we went to the Van Gogh exhibit and wanted a place that had fairly healthy food. We were quite impressed with Brasa. The chicken was delicious, as were the side salads. We will definitely go back.
Ben Ernst
You can’t go wrong with the Rotisserie Chicken Plate. The green sauce puts the fatty juicy chicken with the creole dry rub over the top!
Mackenzie Burkhammer
Consistently good with decent service. Good for families. Their locations are semi small so wait times can suck, but that's the only main drawback.
Derek S
The staff is friendly and prompt, the food is delicious. You can get personal entrees or larger orders to split amongst a group. I eat here regularly, so if you haven’t tried it you’re missing out.
Bryan Johnson
Excellent food and drink! Reasonably priced for the quality of food. Excellent service!
B. P.R.
It has been a little bit of time since our last time here. Food is not as good as it was before. Disappointment is the word to describe our experience. No longer a Creole or Caribbean flavor. No bueno!
Thomas T
Great food and service. Dining area is cramped
Mercedes Austin
I order the roasted pork bowl with an over easy egg - also comes with Yellow Rice, Jalapeño Spinach, Crispy Onions & Red Sauce. If I'm ever needing comfort food to smooth over a challenging week, I'm convinced Brasa's impeccable recipes and cooking are food for the soul. Recently I discovered their sides of pickled jalapeños and sprinkle those on. To die for! Highly recommend this dish!
Christopher Whitley Sr.
Clean food that makes you feel like your eating a cheat meal, but u still have abs!
Nader Banilohi
Best soul food in the Twin Cities! Everything on the menu is great and the staff was wonderful as well.
Laura Schroeder
Best sides ever. Great variety and very tasty. Cute patio and cold beer
Andy Thomson
Dependable takeout is as good as gold, and that’s why I love brasa. Lots of flavor and great options - go-to is smothered chicken with collard greens and plantains with a side of the green sauce.
FIREBASE
the food here is so good i don't even want to tell you because you are going to tell other people and its going to be hard to get a table here but i can't stop myself. its that good.
Lily
I have been a lover of Brasa, obsessed with their food for years. Recently i am sad to say it has gone downhill, it seems like they care too much about saving money, portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. The food has been a hit or miss the past year, the guac has not been the same that it was two years ago, very bland and lacks spice. The pulled chicken sandwich is half the size it used to be and the chips were stale. The only thing that has stayed consistent is the Yuca. I’m really disappointed but all these points have stopped me from going as often as I used to and have started to try to make the same dishes but to my liking at home. Quite unfortunate but these comments I have heard from many friends and family who used to love Brasa as well. It seems to me that the theory of an expanding chain depletes quality, is unfortunately true here.
Dawne “Dawne Marie” Stewart
Great : service, cuisine, company
So glad to go, it was a lovely time!
Jacob Rueter
Iwe ended up getting the chicken meal…the meat and salad was good! The only reason for the 4 stars was because there was so much rice and beans compared to the meat and greens. We ended up wasting a large portion of rice and beans.
Clayton Chessen
Wow just... wow.
Food is phenomenal! Arguably costs a few bucks more than the average place, but this isn’t an average place!
Service is wonderful, everyone is eager to help you, and make sure you’re taken care of.
Never had a bad meal/ dish. always 10/10
Accommodating for people that have different diets.
Josh Dahmes
Great food. Food delivered fast so you can have a warm meal and still get it in quickly during a lunch break. Love that tips are included in pricing and you can order and pay with minimal interaction.
Rena Jackson
One of my favorite restaurants. I want to eat everything! Forgot to take photos... Too hungry. No tipping required here! Small restaurant with patio area when weather permits, great to experience NE. Pulled pork, greens, roasted chicken, cornbread, plaintains, amazing tea, fried fish, yum yum yum. Luv it!
Shela Usadi
The price is a little high but the quality & taste is amazing. I wish they have more things in their menu.
Ryan C. Van Wyk
Excellent option for takeout.
Rotisserie chicken was probably the best I have had, flavorful and juicy thoughout.
Cornbread was perfect - moist with a hint of sweetness, perfect with a little extra butter
BBQ sauce was on point, smoky, slight tangy flavor.
My wife really enjoyed the Mac and cheese.
JJ Jackson
This was the 1st visit so we tried several menu items and were very impressed by all of them! Wasn't keen on the outside dinning experience but the food was awesome.
Jayne Walsh
Great food. Dog friendly patio. Very tech savvy, online order, checks split in app, seamless. Decent beer selection, had one seltzer option. Yummy iced tea.
J Israel
Well, I haven't been here for years. The food still taste then same. The remodeling looks great! I don't like the max and cheese. I'm not big on coating.
Rosanna Hudgins
YUMMY! I had a hard time making up my mind what to have. The shredded pork and a side of cheese grits made me very happy, along with a glass of wine 🍷. Going back to try something else 😋. …
Carrie Elizabeth
If you are looking for a home cooked meal this is the next best thing! everything tastes fresh and they have plenty of dairy, and gluten free options! The staff knew the menu and answered all of the questions I had about food allergies. Everyone was very kind! Their drink selection was surprising. This is the perfect place to go with someone or even by yourself!
W
The chicken is fantastic get am extra dipping sauce your going to need it. If you love butterscotch pudding get two orders one to eat and one to go.
Kaylee Bond
This is my favorite restaurant. Literally everything there is good. I got a catering quote from them once and they are very reasonable with lots of accommodations and extras. I highly recommend.
Jennifer Brown
One of my favorite places to go! Great worker's always kind and eager to please! Always fresh food. As a vegetarian I love having satisfying and fun choices! I could eat here once a week and it would never get old!
elisabeth oh
Friendly service and although they are celebrated for their chicken, I think their pulled pork wins. I really appreciate how our server made us feel welcome and un-rushed even though we had just come in after another dinner and split an entree. The sides look good as well! The restaurant utilizes their indoor space well, for a small place it looks as though they offer a good amount of seating. Prepare for a wait though during busy times!
Missy Isles
Yum yum! I tried the BBQ tofu sandwich, and it was packed with flavor! Best tofu I've ever had! Nice patio area for dining, and lots of other yummy options. My husband had a catfish bowl, and it was also very good!
Kristin Wanders
The food is so good! Definitely worth stopping by.
Regina Hernandez
Food was delicious (per usual) and the service was great! I was with a group of five, which is an awkward number to seat at this location, but they made it work like it was no big deal. For food I ordered the slow roasted pork plate with black beans and yellow rice. A classic that can never go wrong ... especially with an order of the green sauce! I also l, along with most at my table, ordered a side corn bread. So sweet and the honey butter is to die for! Love, love, love! Can't wait for patio season to enjoy these good eats outdoors.
Riko Gonzalez
If you're looking for Latin comfort food in the Twin Cities, this is it!
Pricey though.
Rosalba Guzman
My mother, sister and I stopped by this morning to order food and took it home. We were so happy with the service, the flavor, the portions and taste!!! Thank you so much for making our morning meal great. My mother, who is a super picky eater, was overjoyed with the food.
Ted Black
Good food 😋 definitely new way of ordering, its ok since there's a no tip policy with the changing of prices, but anyway greens are good a great pepper Vinegar sauce, grits are a C+ but I don't like cheesey grits, chicken on point and smothered chicken with corn bread is delicious
Matt Mishler
The only complaint that I have is that they don't give me an extra stomach or 2 so that I don't get full and can continue to eat more of this delicious food that was made by some cool hipsters that look like Jesus himself. Anybody that does not enjoy this food, are simply people I would refuse to hang out with, nobody needs that kind of negativity in their life. Can't rave about this place enough!!!
Robert Lewis
Great service great unique menu and great taste.
Solana Archuleta
Food was really good and the portions were definitely sizeable!!! Didn't love the order/pay by phone situation, but that's the world we live in these days.
Steven Odom
Delicious pulled chicken! I went with the pulled chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The building is roomy, taking into account the small size. They have a patio and south-facing garage doors that (I presume) are open on more optimal summer days. When open, they allow the interior seating to feel even more open. I would recommend eating here, and plan to frequent when in the neighborhood.
Matthew DeRuiter
The staff at Brasa are awesome!! I made an error while ordering, and the staff were incredibly gracious in fixing MY mistake, without any trouble or fuss. The service is absolutely top notch!!!! Not to mention, the food is incredible- make sure to get the Alonso sauce if you like spice!
Ralph Jenson
While parking is tough. The food is worth the walk/hassles. Its all been quite tasty served by friendly staff. Friend plantains are amazing. But then so is pretty much everything else here. Chicken is my go-to but the pulled pork is really good too. My major problem is figuring out what to order.
Aaron Pace
good food. little pricey on chicken but good and green sauce good on it. parking can be tricky.
Jonathon Seah
Had the roast chicken, very good.
Recommend to add the yuka fries too!!!
Jake Gehler
Order was ready on time!
Food travels amazing!
Great tasting in restaurant and for take out.
You cannot miss with anything on the menu.
The value of a meal is off the charts.
Thank you for the amazing food.
Natalie
Food was yummy! Employees and service were nice and welcoming. Had Yuca fries for the first time, they were great!
Eric James
Brasa is incredible. Their meat is like nothing I’ve tasted elsewhere. The yucca fries, the rice, the beans, the cornbread is all heavenly. Everything is good. The atmosphere is very hipster-y. Brasa is great for plates to share, because they don’t really serve meals: everything is separate. Brasa is so consistently good, I cannot recommend it enough.
Matt Palm
I really enjoy the chicken here and the simple gluten free food. The food is agreeable with the palates of most people since it isn't super overpowering. However, I tend to like my food with more flavor and seasoning.
Brasa has a fun, quaint atmosphere and the patio is great on summer nights for drinks and dessert.
Pro tip: the wait for a table can be long so be sure to call in advance to see how long the wait is. Peak hours are really busy.
Dan Cannon
Bring on the meats. Dear Brasa, I love your meats. They are exquisite. Corn bread 10/10
Dave Maas
The food has been consistently awesome (love the rotisserie chicken, and that green dressing is amazing), but I have to give extra praise for their drive up/take out experience. They were better organized and more efficient than any of the other restaurants I have picked up food from during the COVID crisis.
Dee CrepitUS
Always live going here. Decent portion sizes and one of the best slow roasted pork and fried sweet plantains in town. Love their happy hour where you could get a pint of beer and 2 tacos. What a deal! Tried their sangria on happy hour too and it was bomb.
Zakk
Food was great, good value. Service could have been significantly better.
Kiana Andresen
Really good food. Interesting atmosphere. The only thing I didn't like was fresh cilantro in my rice and peas (yellow rice). But that's my personal dislike for cilantro. Otherwise the food was amazing, my fiance really enjoyed it as well. He even asked if we could go again.
Stephen Mike
We were very impressed with our catering order.
Ample portions, very tasty, will definitely use them again.
Clarissa Hoffmann
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Small portions for price, but food is fresh, flavorful with pleasant plating. Greens & grits were fire! Rotisserie Chicken with green sauce was so tender.
Great outdoor seating. Parking lot is really small but there is street parking.
Maria Cote
Delicious, delicious, delicious. Our party of two ordered a meat plate and two sides, and it was plenty to eat. My personal favorites are the pulled pork, collard greens, fried yucca, yams and fried plantains, but you really can't go wrong. Even something like iced tea is above and beyond good. Service is almost instant, which is helpful because they're busy!
Carl Miller
Been here now 4x while on business trips to Minneapolis. Stellar mussels, scallops, and their corned beef & cabbage is great too. Friendly wait staff and bartenders. Very convenient location, especially if you're staying at a downtown hotel. Wish they had a better local brewery selection. Overall, great especially for the business traveler.
Audrey Kidwell
We had a great experience at Brasa last night! The food was delicious, and there were options for both the vegetarians and omnivores in our party. I loved the rotisserie chicken with black beans and yellow rice, and the side dishes are small but served separately and easy to share. We ordered 3 entrees and 4 sides, which was perfect for 3 people and left room for dessert! The masa cakes were a particular favorite. Their cocktail selection is limited to sangria and mimosas, but they have a nice variety of beer and wine. The patio is lovely and shady, and service was quick and friendly. The whole place has a nice laid-back vibe. I'd definitely go back!
Rebecca D
Had happy hour tacos (shrimp and pork) both very tasty IMO, however partner felt the pork taco was too dry. Portions were sizeable too, we were quite full off that with chips and guac on the side. Only downside was lack of craft beer options, 3 on tap and none were notable. Server was prompt and friendly. Do recommend for the food, not the beer.
bobby Seasons
I mean... Qr code only menu. No interaction with waiter or waitress. But still charging quite a bit. For a place I got a tiny cup o water from and couldn't figure out where to get more. $3 for pop dude??? I facking ordered my food online @!! You want me to cook it too ??
Lyvia Triplett
The best of the best. You can order anything and it'll be amazing. I recommend the rotisserie chicken, the Yuka fries and the grits. They also just added mac n cheese to the menu and as someone from the south I can assure you, you won't be diassapointed.
Katie Gagner
Such amazing food, you can really taste every ingredient. The pork melts in your mouth
April Thomas
One of my favorite places to eat! Everything that I've tried off the menu has been delicious. My bill adds up quickly because I always want more than one side. That's my only dislike.
Please note that the St. Paul location has a better and bigger menu selection.
Sheila Stuart
We went (party of 7) after a Valentine Day Wedding at the courthouse. The aromas when you drive up are amazing. Cute, small cozy cafe. Great staff, friendly service. We had roasted chicken, roasted pork, roasted beef
All made from scratch...good sized portions.
Kids menus were a plus. Will be back.
Charlie Wanninger
Great barbeque. Meat was fantastic, the tree beans and rice were Smoky and delicious. We had the pork and pulled chicken, both were great, the chicken was creamy and delicious.
It's a little small and it's good so there might be a wait, but we got a table in about 5 minutes.
J M
Great meats and sides. We love the cornbread muffins. The green sauce is outstanding and delicious on the meats - we tend to order extra green sauce!
Sides can have a little heat to them, but aren't too spicy.
Their catering is well run and was a hit.
They have good options for gluten free diets also.
Cherise S
I love Brasa! Honestly have never had a bad experience. Even when they're getting slammed at dinner time you can tell they really work together well. They are very "all hands on deck", the food quality never suffers, and the wait is always shorter than expected. I've celebrated special occasions here, had chill nights with the girls, and come for lunch when hangovers are in full swing. Love this spot!
Britt Van Buskirk
All of the food was great, the server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the place over all had a vacation vibe to it. The whole meal was delicious, but the yuca fries were particularly good and the spicy creamed spinach was unreal. I was wary of it because I can't usually handle very spicy food, but it was just a hint of heat at the end of the bite and absolutely phenomenal.
Andrew Wolf
Food is great, but I can't get them to call me back about a refund for missing items on my last order. They don't seem to ever answer the phone or listen to voicemails.
Cliff Wood
Really high quality food at a not-unreasonable price, though the plate meals come with just the one side and the sandwiches come with tortilla chips and no dip unless you get it extra, so expect to pay a little extra for a "full" meal. Though if you opt not to you'll still get plenty to eat. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff, will definitely be visiting again.
Garrett Wright
Brasa is just always good. It’s one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities for a casual date night or just a solid dinner with friends. Really the biggest downside is that the space is pretty cozy and they don’t take reservations, so getting a table around dinnertime often means waiting around for a little bit. This is especially true in the winter when the patio seating is unavailable. But the coziness is part of this spot’s charm.
With that said, Brasa is worth the wait! The food is always fantastic and the ability to order small plates a la carte makes it a great place to try a bunch of new things with friends. My personal recommendations are the pulled chicken with pepper gravy, the brown sugar candied yams, and some sweet corn cornbread, but you really can’t go wrong whatever you try.
The happy hour is definitely worth checking out as well, with both food and drink specials available. For beer, they have a small rotating tap list, usually high quality stuff, and wine and sangria are also available.
J M
Great food! I like the flavors, genuine cooking going on here. Varied menu with many options....like having the ability to order meat only. BBQ is tasty, portions are light.
Cons: prices are above average/somewhat high. $2.75 for a lemonade, but no refills. That's 80's style dining. Atmosphere is casual, which I like but some of the staff have this 'cool' attitude - you know, where you feel like your bothering them.
Paul Knutson
Everything we ordered was great! The collard greens were perfectly cooked, the pork and chicken were both delicious and I will definitely be back.
Tahir Farooqi
Nice food, the chicken was very moist and tasty.
j
The sides are always fantastic lots of vegetables and lots of flavor. But we were most impressed with head chef Zach who went above and beyond to ensure we had a good dining experience. He noticed our table was wobbly when walking through the restaurant and personally came over with a wedge. He also noticed us picking at our yuka fries for the warm ones (most on the plate were not) and came over with a fresh plate. He observed all this while chopping and prepping food! Please give this guy a raise!
Katie Ciernia
Brasa is such a great option for catering for large groups! I used them for my wedding several years ago (2012), and now I work for a wedding venue and recommend them to all my couples! Such yummy food at a fair price point. Their staff is quick to reply & easy to work with!
Shane Oborn
Fantastic, high quality food, and flavors with depth. Definitely try their meats, and don't leave without sharing a number of the sides with whomever you dine with (just so you can try more things in one visit :).
The restaurant has high ceilings and a warehouse feel to it. Was a great place to sit awhile, eat slow, and talk with my wife.
Kirsten
I live way too close to this place for comfort, I really will need a gym membership soon. Everything on the menu is amazing, and whatever is in the gravy must be magic. Word of warning, take out is usually 45 minutes so plan accordingly. Otherwise the service is friendly and their patio can’t be beat.
Beth Jensen
It was wonderful! The food was amazing and when we got there early, they got our food ready as quickly as can be imagined. The food was packaged so our food was warm after a 25 minute drive home. Thanks for a great dinner!
sarah em
I went here first time and i am in love with the 🐔 !! Juicy, not overcooked, & well seasoned chicken! Online order is easy to navigate. Take out was fast! Im going back for more.
Mandy Nelson
It's been awhile since I've sat down to eat here, mainly because it has been packed, but this is a cute treasure. I love the creamed spinach, spicy masa corn cake, fried plantains, etc. It is all so good. It is fun to sit at Brasa on a cool summer day with the "garage door" open eating in the open air. When I do take my food to go, its hot and ready in about 15 minutes. Wonderful service.
Willow Muscovitz
I love the spiced creamed spinach and candied yams. This restaurant is all about the comfort foods! You can share or enjoy your own dish. The sides are a la carte and are very filling. Cute patio and great atmosphere- especially during the summer!
Micah Small
A wonderful addition from the Alma family. Combines an excellent southern flair with a hint of Latin influence. Excellent choices from the trough, the wine is simple and can be paired well with the menu. The collard greens and brown sugar yams are fantastic! All the meats are to die for and the family style service truly brings the comfort of home to an unfamiliar place.
Miguel Ramos
Staff was excellent and their yuca and chicken super tasty. Needs more spice and that's about it, a bit more Peruvian style and would be perfection.
Amanda Barrie
If you go in the winter when the patio's closed, seating is extremely tight and the wait's long at dinner time, but it's so worth it. Awesome meat, scrumptious sides, interesting "build your own dinner" concept. Lots of local offerings. Not a huge selection, but what they do, they do very well. This is going to be a new family favorite for us, especially since most of their menu is gluten free.
Shadarra Strange
Very good and delicious food! We loved it here, a little bit on the pricey side so we can’t eat there every day like we want but definitely worth a visit here and there. My favorites are the smothered pulled chicken and red beans with rice! YUM!
Samreen Saadi
Hands down, one of my all time faves in the Twin Cities. Their meats, side options and actually... come to think of it, everything on the menu is delicious. It’s also one place we often bring our family and friends, who are visiting from out of town, and they’ve all complimented it too. Try their green and red sauces, especially with the rotisserie chicken. 🤤 It gets crowded in the evenings so prepare to wait a bit (around 20-40 minutes) as they don’t take reservations. Order yourself a drink while you wait! 😃
wurmbly
I would highly recommend this place! The food was absolutely wonderful! The staff were friendly and attentive, but not in your face. And the prices were great! There are sharing options or individual plates. We had a great lunch and will be back when we're in the area again!
Robert Getch
I really liked the food here, it was unique and very good and would go back. I had the pulled pork sandwich with chips and asked for a side of their house made buffalo sauce (do it). Just what I needed before a night of drinks!
Alexander Ramm
Generally very good tasting food, but occasionally bland. It's very popular, so be prepared to wait if you intend to sit down there to eat. They always significantly underestimate the time to prepare takeout orders (at least in my experience), so give a little extra time (10-15 minutes) before you bother heading there to pick your order up.
YC S
Ordered special for the day. Pork ribs were nice but had too much fat. I normally order single plates but wanted to try out family style meal. I don't know if it was just this time but as I said the pork ribs had too much fat to it and was too greasy for my taste. I would probably go back to ordering regular stuff from the menu.
Rachel Rosebrook
Visited this place on a recommendation and was immediately blown away. Very cute digs, some of the best cocktails I've ever had and a great selection of super tasty southern food. The shrimp and grits two ways was really something special with grits good enough to make any southern grammy roll over in her grave at what the northerners are doing.
Richard Haneman
Food is good. Love the bean fritter. Prices are kinda high though. Should serve some complimentary salsa or dip with their tortilla chips. If I am paying 10+ dollars for a sandwich I expect to get a good side and not plain tortilla chips.
Albert Danielson
A nice, small fast-casual with a focus on organic meat and small plates. A decent amount of options to order for main and sides. Ordered their rotisserie chicken with cheese grits, with dulce de leche for dessert. The chicken with their dry rub and the grits was ok, although the signature green sauce was delicious and the dessert tasted almost as good as it looked. Worth a visit just for at good the neat atmosphere and maybe you'll find the right food for you.
Russ LaPlante
I love the food, love the atmosphere! The food is excellent for those with food sensitivities. The indoor dining room is a little small, but once the outdoor patio opens seating is less of a challenge. Highly recommend!
Robert Schuldt
Good food that is well made and clearly tries to locally source everything. A little pricey IMO, but if you want something local it’s a good choice. Speciality is chicken and pulled pork with the option of several sides including vegetarian black beans and some non-veg red beans. Have to order rice separately from the beans
Abby Omdahl
The prices are great, the staff was wonderfully attentive and the food was amazing.
Lee Schatschneider
Great food in casual setting. Meats are all solid and a decent value. Sides are varied and uniformly good. Kids like yucca, I like collard greens with smoked chicken. Wife likes the salad. All love the cornbread, chips and guac, beans and rice. Small but varied selection of beers and wine.
Michael McKenzie
Had a delicious dinner! Flavors were amazing and the jerk chicken special was fantastic! The place isn't huge and there was a bit of a wait, but the food was totally worth it. Could be tricky to find space with large groups, but small groups can mix and match and share dishes! I am looking forward to going back
Ashley Beltrame
The food is delicious. I usually order a la carte and share with friends. The creamed spinach, pulled chicken, and yuca are high on my list. The place is small, busy, and they don't take reservations. About 50% of the time I go there, ask the wait time, and end up going somewhere else because I'm usually too hungry to wait 40 minutes to get seated. Nice spot in NE, though.
Gregory Adams
My recommendations would be yucca fries and the slow roasted pork. The cheese grits were amazing. Seemed cramped at the table for our group, but the restaurant is pretty small. I don't recommend the cobbler dessert. Mine was slightly dry and little flavor.
Anne
Always amazing food! Consistently! They have vegan options too. Their vegan bowl and fries are sooo yummy. Comfort food at it’s best.
Katie Erickson
Just enjoyed Brasa for dinner with my fiancé. It was amazing! The yucca and pork are incredible! And that green sauce is utter magic! Please everyone, get food from Brasa and get it often! I need them to stay open so I can have them cater my wedding, lol. Let's keep them going through the pandemic. Order the roasted chicken, you won't be disappointed.
Dan Mason
Great southern style food. Expect a 15-20 minute wait if it's dinner time, and parking is a pain, but it's worth it. Get a beer while you wait for your table. You can order by the plate but the menu is designed around ordering family style. Everything they make is great.
Emma Nyquist
Fantastic! Always busy, and for good reason! Locally grown, fresh food with a chef who knows how your dish should be prepared. Everything is delivered fresh every morning and cooked from scratch. Although busy, the service has always been attentive, cheerful and friendly. Never a disappointment with everything on the menu savory, you will be completely satisfied! This is a THE place I take my out of town friends. Very consistent with service and food with very reasonable prices, I HIGHLY recommend! .
Brittany Terrell
Amazing chicken, greens and rice! It was so good if we weren't in a hurry and on a budget I would've ordered more. They serve family style and the rest of the menu seemed a la carte. Staff is casual, knowledgeable and friendly. Can't wait to go back
Dillon Biel
This is my FAVORITE place in Minneapolis to eat!!! The food is exceptional and you will not be disappointed. All of the meats are so flavorful and not dry in the slightest. I would highly recommend ordering the Yucca Fries. They are like a steak fry but they have so much more flavor than your typical french fry.
The vibe at the restaurant is really cool. You can sit inside or outside and when the weather is nice they keep the garage doors in the front open so you can have the best of both worlds. They have a fireplace and some seating on the side as well.
Great place and I highly recommend that you go!
Carlos Ricci
Laid-back cafe-style atmosphere, fantastic fusion of Brazilian and Southern comfort foods.
Tim Druyos
Incredible food and decent prices. We tried the chorizo potato chilaquiles bowl and the smoked beef plate. The bowl was spicy with an incredible mix of flavors, and the smoked beef was extremely tender with a delicious sweet barbecue sauce. The space is completely unassuming with a large patio and a friendly/quick service. This place is definitely worth a stop the next time you are in Northeast Minneapolis!
Jessica H
Excellent food and service. We ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and guacamole & chips. The sandwich was a very large portion. Bread was fresh, chicken was juicy. The guac had great flavor. We eat here frequently.
Theresa Dodge
Brasa will always have my heart & 5 stars!
Linda Sullivan
Casual and fun. Recommend outdoor dining if weather permitting. Food is by the dish so sharing is recommended, you can then try several dishes. The plantains are awesome! The wait staff are good and service is fairly quick. Though take your time, this isn't a drive thru.
Erin Orthun
If I could, I would give 6 stars. Brasa catered my sister's wedding this past weekend. The food was beyond amazing and the service was top notch. There were options for all types of food meeting various dietary needs of the guests. We had vegetarians, vegans, lactose intolerance, even one guest recovering from surgery with limited options was able to have an amazing meal. The guests raved about the food. The menu spelled out each dish clearly. The food was served family style and options included rice, beans, vegetable curry, cucumber salad, roasted chicken, and more. AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! The staff had a smile on their faces the entire time. It could not have been a smoother process. Thank you, Brasa, I'm so impressed.
Ryan Romanowski
I had the rotisserie chicken with rice & beans and a side of fried plantains. The food was of good quality. For the chicken, spices were well mixed and the meat was tender. The rice and beans were fairly standard, but were pleasing. The fried plantains were well done, nice caramelization on all pieces. The price was a bit hefty. I paid $20 here for something I could get back home at local Peruvian chicken establishments for $6 less (30% less) with larger portions. All in all a good experience with a larger price tag.
Maria Proca
We are such a fun of rotisserie chikens Brasa have them done well.
Very delicious, when we will be back to Miniapolis we will for sure be back.
Susan N.
Very Good food, kid friendly. Our meal didn't cost an arm and leg. We did the family style which let us try more of their dishes. Childrens menu offered great choices as well. Get the butterscotch pudding, its amazing.
Laurie Prince
Great rotissiere chicken place, with lovely patio seating, complete with outdoor bean bag toss. House-made sangria was refreshing and delightful. Thick tortilla chips and guac were tasty, and pulled chicken sandwich was a great blend of chicken, BBQ and slaw. Highly recommend! Family loved this place.
Emily
I've been here two times now and enjoyed the food both times. Highly recommend the Pulled Chicken, Smoked Beef, and Slow Roasted Pork. There is a lot next to the restaurant which often fills up but there is good street parking nearby. This is definitely a good place to find some comfort food staples in Minneapolis.
Mathew Somlai
Really great southern style food. If you are with your family or a group, order together - meats by the pound from the board and sides to share. Recommend the rotisserie chicken, but get there early - we've been twice where they have ran out. Greens were perfect.
Duke Brix
Took my GFGF (Gluten Free Girl Friend) to this place and let me tell ya the gluten free options are endless. Plus i ordered food with gluten in it and it was damn good. Reminds me of an authentic chicken restaurant in Mexican, with the wide open walls so even when you're inside, you feel outside. And they have bean bags and a cool fire pit so that's a plus. Only down side was the long wait (about 25 minutes for a party of 2) but DEFINITELY worth the wait 10/10 would go again
Vince Bullinger
I really liked the food and will definitely be back. The menu's a bit small, but highly customizable, so it makes up for it. Everything was delicious. And I love the high-quality of the food, too, the reason I want to go to places like this. Be ready to walk a ways, as parking is terrible. This place was not built to be a great lunch spot as it currently is. It has like 8 parking spots. Absurd. It used to be a tiny garage. It's also precariously located where Hennepin splits, so you might zip by it. But when it's warm, it's cool that they open the garage door and it's like we're all eating outside. And the food and prices were great.
Stephen Kwong
I don't know what say about Brasa, it's unique but it just doesn't scream come eat with us again. I went to he Hennepin location based on several recommendations and we ended up going family style got some chicken, rice, tapas fries? with a sauce, beans, and a curry chicken with another meal. To me it was really normal, nothing unique. Hate to say it but regular rotisserie chicken from the grocery market would have been the same if not hotter and juicier. I wouldn't rate this place personally as a higher end place, it's definitely just a casual sit down with the word premium thrown in the mix and a very high price tag.
Atmosphere: 4 (Very ordinary, but it did feel different with the color scheme)
Food Quality: 3 (It was something I could buy, nothing unique to travel to)
Service: 3 (Fair, had to ask for things a couple of times)
Cleanliness: 3 (Wasn't terrible, but sticky tables and dirty silverware.)
Overall: 3.25 bump down. $80. Will be back if invite.
Rich Harmer
I love Brasa. The food is delicious and consistent. The garage style doors open up giving the whole place an outdoor feel in addition to their patio. parking is tight, but it is worth it! Try something off the wall new there..
Chris Dunn
Awesome food! The Crispy Yuca was particularly good. The Collard Greens w/Smoked Chicken was also surprisingly tasty. I recommend getting several sides and sharing. Also had the Yellow Rice and Beans and the Cornbread. Everything was fantastic!
Karl Burgess
It's a small place. You can eat outside on good days which is nice.
There seems to be way more staff than customers sometimes but they are unobtrusive and don't get annoying.
The food is very good.
I am fussy with food so there are some thing I really didn't like, but the ones I did were delicious.
The main critiscism i have, (and the reason for being one star short), is the fact there was no ice served with the water. Lukewarm almost tepid water is not a good start to a meal.
Get bigger cups, and a good ice maker so all water can be served with ice and another star will be earned.
Praxum
Kids first time having Brasa and they loved the yucca, beans and even some of the roasted meats. Adults loved the meat entrees and a new side for us of the creme spinach yum!
Ben MacKinney
I wish they would manage all of my favorite restaurants! So well done, a downtown NE gem. I like getting the pulled pork because its incredible and something I would only eat organic. Beer is good, get a variety of sides and share so you can get the flavor spectrum.
Stephanie Simms
A perfect casual go-to spot. Loved the family style service and the outdoor seating. Tried the roasted chicken and pork, chix was my favorite. Fried plantains were sweet and creamy. Would love to go back and try more.
Ben Ward
I ordered a Chicken BLT and while it was good tasting, it had 1.1 slices of B. It had one slice of bacon plus one bite. I've never seen any version of a BLT have less 3, but I guess Brasa likes to set the bar even lower. I'd post a picture but Google doesn't have that.
Edit: Brasa contacted me about the incident and I'm grateful they took the time to do so.
Erika Bang
Such a gem! I just love the clan eating options here. You can order a la carte from the menu or get a platter. The guacamole and chips are a must, so fresh! And I love the collard greens as well as the andioulle sausage squash side dish (it's so sweet from the squash but you get a nice slice from the bites of sausage). The meats are always succulent and tender but to me they're not the highlight of the menu.
Hannah Aderinkomi
Oh how Brasa makes me happy. When I call to place a take out order they know my name because it shows up on their system they make it wonderfully easy and maybe too easy to ingest that amazing pulled chicken with a side of jalapeño. The staff has always been so wonderful and friendly. The proximity of Brasa to my office, their delicious food, and great service make this a favorite. Parking can be a bit tricky.
Daniel Arend
Fantastic place for amazing food. It's small and doesn't take reservations or call-aheads so the wait can be long, but you can always call to see what the wait is before you come.
Parking lot holds about 5 cars but there is plenty of street parking nearby.
We spent $53 for two, incl. drinks, two meats, several sides, and 18% tip. Very reasonable for the quality!
Todd Scott
Brasa never disappoints. Pork is fantastic and best plantains anywhere. Very good service.
Kameala Honey
Underseasoned attempt on Black American soul food. My entire meal was bland and the catfish was served not seasoned properly and was drenched in grease. But, the pound cake is devine.
Dan Johnson
Food is good, but not worth the cost. They actually say you are getting 2 pieces of chicken, which you do, but it's a breast cut in half! We will not being going back.
Daniel C
You seriously can't go wrong with anything on the menu! It's all very delicious but my #1 choice is the pork bowl!
Mike McCallister
This place really is a winner with kids, and the adults who accompany them. Plenty of options, and the kids food is mostly smaller portions of what the adults eat, instead of yet another hamburger or plate of chicken tenders. Everything we ate was really good, and we can't wait to try it in the summer when their patio is open.
Sam Van Cook
The food is always great but Brasa has been a real step above during quarantine. I think this is hands down the best meal you can get delivered to your house right now.
Savannah Scheinuck
Just charming! We went for brunch and I'm Soo happy we did! The food was Soo delicious. I'm pretty sure everything on the menu is amazing! I wish I lived here so I could come here all the time. I loved that almost everything is gluten free and they have many vegetarian options, though the meat is all natural, drug free, and humanely raised if that has any affect on your meat-eating ;-)
Adam Lofquist
The positives
1) Great food
2) Great prices
3) Friendly staff
4) No tipping
Negatives: just one there is not one closer to me!
John Arntzen
Delicious food ! Great desserts !
Wendy Olson
Always get the smothered chicken plate with rice and peas. They give you a good amount of food and I usually eat all the rice and peas and save half of the chicken to eat as a sandwich later. 😊 I would be steering you wrong if I didn't say a side of the sweet corn bread should also always be included as well. …
Charles Faison
Great food with a gulf coast twist
Dan Wegner
We enjoyed the pork dish with some grits and andouille sausage on the side. Great comfort food on a autumn evening.
Carrie Overgaard
Best....chicken....ever! My first bite was perfect - juicy, flavorful, wonderful spices. We were seated right away (which was surprising on a Saturday night) and the service was very polite, but food took a while to get to the table. I love the setting - we used to go to it before it became Brasa (Betty's Bikes and Buns) and I'm glad they kept the atmosphere to the garage feel. My boyfriend had the pork, but he certainly liked my chicken better. I preferred the yams and corn muffin as a side (although the main flavor of the muffin was butter).
Matt Lynch
Can't say enough good things about the food here - everything we tried was delicious. The staff were also fast and friendly, never got anything wrong. Also great for groups of people, the dishes are designed to be shared (even if you do just want to eat everything yourself).
Owen Glo
Very good service, clean place, nice, laid back atmosphere. Diverse crowd of customers. The pineapple ginger ale is a must try even if you don't like ginger. Im not a fan of ginger but this fusion was very good and did not disappoint at all. I enjoyed the slow cooked beef and potato salad. I just wish it had had a little more salt or taste to beef without the sauce. Loved the potato salad texture and consistency of potatoes, again just needed a little more flavor to hold the title of caribbean, creole food. My husband ordered the masa corn cake meal, I liked the bread, cheese and sweet potato, I didn't taste it with the pickled onions. The yellow rice tasted like a box mix and the red beans like refried beans. I'm from the south so I may be a little spoiled in the food department. But I'd go back and eat there. It's worth the money.
Dan Fenn
I'm always looking for new foods to try. I leave reviews when ever I get a chance. Brasa is one of those places. Different tastes. If you like different, but normal amazing really tasty food. Brasa is a must. Don't forget the collard greens.
Brandon Frazho
I love Brasa, and especially the St. Paul location. Always fresh food and no matter what you get, it is always tasty. To top it off, the service is great. Love the family-style, so definitely come with a couple of friends or family to share and enjoy together!
Nate Wilson (Organic Squirrel)
They don't need to post specials; their standard menu is already fantastic. The amazing Creole-style food Brasa serves is my new favorite comfort food. The yucca fries, collard greens, yams with andouille, cheesy grits, smoked beef, and pulled chicken are my top choices, but everything on the menu is stellar. Best of all: the organic/local cuisine leaves me feeling pretty good afterwards (physically and ethically).
Laura Potter
Great food! We went here on a date night and we were blown away with the place. They have separate menus for most dietary needs. Food was fresh, full of flavor, and great prices. Order ala carte or get a meal. Either way, you get a great amount for the price. Service was awesome as staff was knowledgeable and cared about your experience. Making this a regular spot for date night!
Daniel Isaac
I'm so disappointed in myself for not being able to share photos that I didn't take of the mouth watering for we had here. And the waitress was super nice to us all night long! Would definitely recommend if looking for a good BBQ joint in MSP
Thomas Phillips
Great food, nice house/local beers and a fun atmosphere. The venue is very neat, it looks like an old service garage. Out door space for meals and a fire pit to hang out around too. Can be a little loud inside during heavy hours.
Jayson Massa
Gun to my head, it’s between here and revival for my favorite casual restaurants. Absolutely love everything about Brasa. I get every meat when I go because I can’t pick one over the others. Their homemade vinegar sauce is where it’s at. I soak everything in it. Also, try the butterscotch pudding. It’s frickin amazing
Jake Oswald
A little pricey, but one of my fav spots in the metro.
Laura Sudz
Great food, quality and flavor is banging. Awesome cilantro aioli sauce that is so good I buy a pint to take home EVERY time I'm there. Try the Yuca, a root that is much like a potato, fried and seasoned well and makes a delectable vessel for which to eat the cilantro aioli. The pork, beef and chicken are all worth eating. All of their sides are good too. I recommend ordering small or medium portions of anything that sounds good and sharing with your party. It's a great place for sharing food. Especially awesome in the summer as the sides of the restaurant all open up. Just a heads up, no fountain soda.
Rene C. Astudillo
Main theme of this place is: Flavor!!!
Our 1st. Time in the city and me and fiancé were craving for roasted chicken 🍗, we google it and this place came out, as soon as we saw the posted pics we were like: ok let’s give a shot, we drove there and it was totally worth it, there’s flavor in all the food, that’s a main thing for us, the rice the beans and obviously the chicken 🍗, very well executed Latin flavors, nicely done ✅ Brasa Folks 👌🏼, you’ll see us again before we depart the city!.
Jason Andersen
So I met a southerner that said they had the best BBQ ever here in Minneapolis... and it was here at Brasa. I would say that the food here is amazing, but it isn't the stereotypical BBQ. The chicken pieces are my favorites and all the sides are wonderful.
Mike Amos
We ate at Brasa last evening (Wednesday). We were lucky enough to get in at about 6:30 because by 7 they were packed with people waiting. The wait staff were really patient with the indecisiveness of my 5 person party on staying or going and what to order. The restraunt was really warm but the the air was moving so it wasn't too awful but it was a bit excessive.
The main dishes were great, the pulled chicken sandwich is like the angry older brother of a Reuben. The beef is tasty as is the rotisserie chicken. The sides were pretty flat, the creamy spinach with jalapeno is good creamed spinach but lacks the punch of jalapeno. The black beans with corn bread are just exactly that with little done in the kitchen to help. The good news is that they have the perfect condiment, Franks' red hot, on the table to improve the dishes. The chips and guacamole is a great appetizer though and the birthday cake cupcake is delicious I was told.
Sarah
The seating was pretty limited and cramped when we went in, but the service was great! The food was good, but we didn’t think it quite lived up to the hype. The reason I gave this place a 3 star review was because we felt the bill was way too expensive for what you get. It was too high in price for the food/experience we received. I’m glad we checked it out, but we probably won’t be back due to that.
Mike Boe
This place is always good. Just wish they had a bigger building. The summer they nearly double their capacity with patio seating but in the winter the wait times are a lot longer.
Collard greens are amazing.
Tom Ashcraft
The chicken and pulled pork we're top shelf.
Limited inside seating. Great outdoor space.
Perfect if you are looking for something besides a burger that will stick to your ribs.
thelwbs12
I enjoyed the $10 happy hour combo(beer, beans, rice, choice of 2 tacos).
My taco had at least 20 shrimp on it, which felt like winning a mini jackpot since some other places give you a pitiful amount.
The sides of rice and beans /w brisket was also delicious, which was an improvement because last time i came here my beans and brisket were so oversalted that my dog wouldn't eat them when I got home (im sure that was an accident).
They have some mild hot sauces available on tables, but they don't have any super spicy options or condiments like you might expect at a place offering south american food.
Would be cool if they carried a habenero or ghost pepper sauce
Joseph Williams
This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. The food is priced right and made well. There's not a bad thing on the menu, but the smoked beef is always a reliable choice.
William Owen
They have changed their dining model since I was last there, you now order via phone and they bring the food and drinks out to you. I had the pork sandwich and it was great.
Andrea Backes
Want to impress your friends by taking them to a hip, urban restaurant with phenomenal food? Take them to Brasa, my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. Try the egg dish: Over Easy and Pulled Pork- it's a great dish for any time of day. And the fried Yucca is a very good side.
I C
Brasa offers a very urban casual environment that meshed together a hint of excitement with a chic & modern interiors, exuding a aura of elegant coziness. The food was usually well prepared, evidently from scratch usually, but may vary at times. However, its relatively higher price makes it less attractive for me to dine here often, though I will most certainly be willing when the opportunity comes up. Recommend it!~
Dylet Grady
Brasa has been added to my list of favorite places to enjoy a great meal! Their space is small, I suggest going during the times of 1-4pm to get a good seat. Also, try the vinegar and pepper sauce it adds great flavor to your food(you can purchase it as well) Enjoy!
Mark Zurales
Getting grits and guacamole in one place?! I knew I found an excellent new dining spot in the neighborhood! Four of us really enjoyed the excellent guac and sangrias. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was great. Will certainly be back often!
Tana Larsen
Their menu is small but the items are SO high quality. It's one of my favorite places to eat in the entire Twin Cities. Their Chilaquiles are awesome.
Kiera Hatton
Brasa is the perfect combination of comfort food and flawless execution. I had the Pork and Egg Bowl along with the seasonal Sweet Potato and Spice beer. The pork was tender, moist, and flavorful. The jalapeño spinach and yellow rice were divine, and egg yolk dripping over the top was the perfect comforting tie in.
If I lived in Minneapolis, this would become our regular place for casual meals. I am going to have to stop by again before I leave and try something else.
My waiter was kind, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable.
Ben Anderson
The restaurant is small, so come early... but the food is authentic. I haven't had recipes like this since my trip to Peru. Highly recommended, though portions are small. Also note that plantains are served ripened (which some prefer).
Bicky Nguyen
DELICIOUS AF!!! Had their rotisserie chicken with peas & rice. Delicious fried sweet plantains. Chips & guacamole were decent. Really great food, fun staff.
Apryl
Everyone knows this place rocks in terms of the food. This review is about the people. I called to ask if they could work with me on a special plan to pre-pay for the dinner of 2 very special, saintly people we wanted to send to Brasa. Jordan took my call and was amazing, and had me follow up with the GM, Alissa, the following day to confirm. They were both kind, helpful and up for doing something special for our special people. Thank you, Team Brasa! We love you!
Fred Geyen
The food, the service, the space, is just great!
Best way to describe Basa is maybe a northern barbecue, a mix bettween Tex-Mex and a sandwich shop. Have never been able to figure out why they can't cut chicken at the joints. The pieces are always hard to deal with. Will go again great place.
Jamie Jewison
The food is excellent but check out your take out order before you leave the parking lot. I was missing a platter and didn’t realize it until I was home. Hard to get through on their phones to speak to anyone about it.
Jarod Kerr
Ordered catering (cheese & grits, yucca fries, collard greens, & mac/cheese) for an event and was very impressed with everything. Cannot wait to keep going back!
K R
Definately one if our favs! You can't beat the falovors, the richness , the freshness. Its amaz ing all at a pretty decent price. Especially live the pork w green sauce and roasted yams!! Anything is amazing here though! Can get busy but its worth it!
Kee Onn Fong
Best chicken in town! I used to order sides but now I just go straight for the 4-piece rotisserie chicken instead. Seating gets kinda tight in the winter with the patio closed, but the food is always worth the wait.
Agne Vilkaitis
Got pulled pork and chicken bowls + fried sweet plantains and yucca fries; all delicious. Great comfort food with a twist (a bit extra that makes dishes more special)
Clayton Haapala
Now using the "Toast" service, read barcode with phone and order from website, then servers whisk out your order. Pork, chicken, and fish are the proteins - usual sides and sauces are available. Vegan options available.
Audra
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the twin-cities. The food is delicious and extremely fresh, I've loved everything that I've ever tried there. I do wish that you could make reservations but overall I would highly recommend.
Mari Marks
I've been in love with this place since my first bite of their Yucca fries. I don't even know what to say besides the food is amazing, and you have to go just for the Yucca fries in the sauce. Everything is good, but the Yucca fries!!!!
Brig O'Connor
Outstanding food, based on Creole cuisine. Just extremely good. Service was quick and pleasant. They also have a wonderful take-out menu. Try at least once. Wonderful selection!!!!
Rob Connor
I was visiting for work and was taken here for lunch. Since it was late summer the outside seating was perfect. The staff was very nice and very good. I enjoyed the lunch and would recommend. I think locals will have even better reviews.
Heather K
Really awesome food! Love the red sauce so much I had to take some home with me. Which I put on literally everything. The chicken is the bomb, melts in your mouth. Can't wait to come back.
Sarah Sue
I was lolling for an authentic new cuisine to try out and this came in highly recommended. It did not disappoint! The ambience is great, the food is delicious and the staff incredible. Tried the pulled chicken and smoked beef. You must try the CRISPY YUCA W/ CITRUS & GARLIC MOJO!
Inga Schierkolk
The food was amazing and they are handling covid-19 concerns and regulations very well. Try not to bring large groups right now unless you are willing to split up, but the service was fantastic and I would definitely go again even now.
Shelisa Demuth
I'm absolutely always hungry for Brasa. Vegetarian beans and rice is really good and, from what I hear, the carnivorous fare is equally memorable. A fun take away is their candied yam chocolate bar. May Brasa stand forever. 😍 …
Kerstin Johnson
One of my favorite spots in Minneapolis! We've tried most of the items on their menu and all have been absolutely delectable. My favorites are the rotisserie pulled chicken and yuccas -- YUM! Do yourself a favor and order an iced cafe con leche -- so refreshing! Parking is limited so expect street parking or take public transit if possible.
Ryan Gopaul
This place has very tasty Southern style cooking that has a healthy appeal geared towards Spanish and Brazilian flavors. Rotisserie chicken and beans, rice and beef as well.
Brasa is well worth the experience just on the outskirts of Downtown Minneapolis.
Natasha Pearson
Parking is a bit of a challenge but thge food is so good it's worth it. I would recommend the pulled chicken that comes with a super tasty sauce, beans, and rice. They also offer family size portions that you can take with you.Uber eats and Bite Squad also offer delivery for a fee.
Would totally suggest that everyone tries this place!
William Ulrich
Afternoon 1st time visit here after a play at the Guthrie. The Rotisserie Chicken and Red Beans and yellow rice were heaven in my mouth! I will be back often all the way from Rochester. Great food!
Matthew Bouvier
This was the first restaurant I've tried since moving in town. The food was tasty without you feeling guilty afterwards.
Ms Peaches
The food was delicious and the service was great. I'll definitely be back with my fiance.
Jennifer Jones Carmichael
The NE Brasa is one of our favorite go to local restaurants. Everything on their menu is amazing, but our favorites are the chicken, chips & gauc, spinach, & beans. That green sauce though... I dream about it.
Leah Honsey
I have such a hard time deciding what to get here. you really can't go wrong. the catering for my husbands birthday included the slow roasted pork which was so popular that it was a good thing i got more than what had been recommended per serving!
Brett Hebert
This place is a veritable hype machine. Ever since I moved to MSP and told people where I lived, they contually pointed out "oh wow, you live near Brasa!" They've got serious buzz about them at the moment, so my expectations were sky high. To be clear, the food was good - I had rotisserie chicken with a size of beans and some Yuca Fries. Tasted great. But I guess I'd caution people to pump the brakes a bit on the hype - this place probably gets a helping hand from its solid hipster credentials to make it the hot commodity that it is. The food, while solid, is not out of this world. But it's just down the road from me, so I'll go back to see if maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.
Han Kim
One of my go-to places. Their new bowls are amazing. Try the pork shoulder bowl but replace the spinach with collard greens. Great staff and the food never disappoints!
Aaron Andrusko
Excellent food, quick service, expensive but not insanely so. This would be a five star if they didn't 86 the beef sandwich.
Alicia Jiménez
Great option for a take out, in the meantime. Delicious food, some of the best rotisserie chicken I've had in a while. Great service. Definetly coming back
Sarah Klebba
Great comfort food! I crave the smothered chicken. How do they make that gravy so light, yet absolutely delicious? Yum!
Kael Escobar
Super quick service even for take out. Delicious food even for vegetarians and awesome service!
Devin Batkiewicz
The food is phenomenal. But the best part is how they cater to diets and restrictions. My best bet for when I do the Whole30. The only down side is the wait for a seat. Trust me, it's with the wait.
Gregory Aase
A trip to Brasa is always the same in a good way. The staff is friendly, the wait is minimal, the food comes quickly and it's never bad, and the price is reasonable. It's not fancy, the presentation will not win awards, but it's solid. Recommended.
Lindsay Renee
The food was wonderful and the waitress was helpful and gave great recommendations! Come eat here you will not be disappointed. The food came out so fast it made my head spin!
Karl Boleen
My wife and I have made it a tradition to go here the week before Christmas (with the kids). I love the rowdy atmosphere, the family-share type food, and the well curated beer list.
Oh, and don't skip on the house made vinegar!
David Thompson
Extra tasty food + local/organic ingredients + low prices = best restaurant in town. Although the other meats sound better, the rotisserie chicken is the best (it comes with their awesome cilantro garlic dipping sauce). Also excellent are the collar greens, the fried yuca, the creamy jalapeno spinach, and the cornbread. Also, it's an awesome place for low carb or gluten free folks.
S Teslow
Excellent food and the atmosphere was great too! Easy ordering via the app made it safe and convenient.
Charlie Zieke
Food is always fantastic, as is the hot pepper vinegar we brought home with us. We had to wait nearly 45 minutes for a table, but they had an outside bar and cornhole. Everyone who worked there was so accommodating and nice.
Joseph Haake
I find myself recommending this place to friends, family, co-workers etc. every chance I get.
Cannot get enough fried Yucca. The Rice & Peas w/ Sofrito & Ham is incredible. The roasted pork is mouth wateringly good.
Timothy Oynes
Great rotisserie chicken with a side of rice.
Tomás Gutiérrez
Never change, Brasa!
This was the first place we went to on a recent trip to Minneapolis. Twice in two days, actually (second time to the St. Paul location), as we had a British friend in town who wanted to eat something healthy and delicious.
Go here especially if you have a group of people so you can order family style - get 1/2lb of meat per person, and many sides. The best are the pulled pork, pulled beef, and pulled chicken, but others (and specials are usually on-point, too). Make sure you get the yucca fries, sweet plantains, sautéed greens, and any other sides that float your boat. Finally, desserts are good enough (not amazing, but they don't need to be); the butterscotch pudding is utilitarian but does the job nicely to cap the mea.
Ancestral/primal/paleo? Definitely put this on your list.
Nico Picococo
In my top 5 of NE eateries. Probably #1 or #2. Seems like everything is super homemade. Is that possible? Somebody here knows how to cook like how your grandma knew how to bake...or how my grandma baked anyway. Just get one of everything and double it so you can take it home for leftovers. And THE best red Sangria. Wait, is this my third glass? No it isn't. Yes, yes it is.
Bryan Woelfel
If you pork, chicken or beef you can't beat the taste and quality. Limited beers and wines, but good ones. Garage style seating, laid back atmosphere. Great food for the dollar.
Viktoria Canning
Amazing! Delicious and super friendly stuff
Dogs are welcome on a patio
nicholas heard
Food and atmosphere was awesome. The space is a little tight but you forget about that once your food arrives. The menu is like 95% gluten free ... Makes this place even greater.
Matt _
Fav MPLS restaurant period!
Christian Wilkie
I've never ordered a bad dish here; indeed, I've been passionate for nearly everything served to me. Brasa's the perfect place for enjoying the weather outdoors, and their beer selection is more than sufficient.
Neal Sorensen
Mouth watering goodness is everywhere here. Touts us a neat eaters paradise, with good options for vegetarians as well. Remember to order sides! Yucca Fries and the Yams with Andouille was amazing.
Kathryn Carroll
Space is small but food is good. Spicier than one would expect, but not mouth numbing. Solid lunch spot, also a good dinner location. Don’t be afraid to order sides as mains
Tom Ervasti
Just picked up a carry-out order.
Karen Wang
Ordered the pulled pork, smoked beef, red beans & yellow rice, fried plantains, crispy yuca, and cornbread. Everything was okay, but nothing stood out. Our favorite things were the yuca and the beans/rice, and for a place like this you'd expect their meat to be the favorite of the night, but both the pork and beef were somewhat boring.
Adam Murray
I would give 3.5 stars if I could. The food was pretty good but they give very small portion sizes for what they charge, $10 for 1/4 lb of meat and a side. Their menu is also fairly confusing and limited
Kelly Ireland
Five stars, to me, means the restaurant excels in every area. My problem with Brasa is that the attitude of the staff and the too-cool-for-school atmosphere frustrate the enjoyment of their high quality food. I would suggest take-out, but my experience is that it is very slow, and the attitude of some of the staff even extends to picking up take-out.
Bree Carlson
The creamed spinach is out of this world! Love the shredded pork and the rotisserie chicken. The cheesy grits are fantastic too! Cute atmosphere and great service.
Rusty Shackleford
Wasn't bad at all.. enjoyable plate sizes and tasty chicken. Smoked beef was a little bland but the guacamole and chips were spot on!
Nick Bauman
Best shrimp in town. Slow-roasted pork also a signature dish. Pro tip: order take out and have a beer by the fire while you wait. Your food will typically come up in minutes.
Jennifer Macali
Yummy! Loved to creole rubbed chicken. Chicken was moist and skin crispy. Service was decent, and the outdoor patio was perfect for a sunny spring day. Prices are reasonable.
Mackenzie
Excellent consistent service. They never disappoint in quality of food. Ordered a large order and everything was perfect. Can’t recommend their pulled chicken enough!
Bethany Wells
A little pricey, but worth it! The food is always high quality. It’s simple food done right. I always recommend this place. Both the mpls and Saint Paul locations are consistently good.
Trish Deutsch
Brasa is always amazing. We bring all of our out of town guests here. Lots of gluten free options. My faves are the greens and the cheesy grits!
Kiersten Carlson
The food is always soo good! This place might not seem like it would be good for vegetarians but it actually is! They have a bean fritter sandwich that is very good. But I personally just like to get the sides which are all awesome. The creamed spinach 😚👌🏻 the yuca. The. Yuca. Yuca seems to be one of those things that is very hard to get right and they get it so right. Also the aioli they serve with it. Yes.
Colin Waters
I love restaurants in repurposed spaces. The guac is the best I've had in town and every dish I've had besides has been nothing short of delicious. I'm also grateful for Brasa for having Fair state Mirror Universe on tap, which is now one of my favorites.
John Farrell
Tasty pulled pork could have used a bit more flavor but accompanying heirloom tomato salad was very fresh and delicious. Pound cake dessert was outrageously good!
Steve Schmidt
I had the eggs with Pork tacos and it was great!
Joseph B
The restaurants portion size is only slightly North of Tapas-sized and I'm not a fan of walking away from a restaurant paying a large bill and being hungry. Good flavors but I saw no value.
Geoff Braden
Great food, good service but no full bar. My food was delicious. I would have liked to top it off with a bourbon. Overall well worth the trip.
Deija M
Great comfort food, quick service. One request for a second beer was not filled by our wait staffer but they comped the first beer due to a crack in our pint glass. Will return!
John Van Beek
Smaller than its Saint Paul sister, but the food is top notch; one of my top-5 for the metro-area. Try the creamed spinach w/ jalapeno or the pork and over easy egg bowl!
Farzane Takbiri
Had a very good experience! Very nice place and excellent food. They bring a lot of tortilla chips as the food side, then don't order any appetizer with tortilla chips
Kaitlin Nelson
One of my fav restaurants!! Always amazing food. Highly recommend!
I always get the pulled pork with the green sauce on the side
I like everything on the whole menu
Sami Q
Good atmosphere and great food. They don't take reservations, so it's best to go at a less busy time if you can. Usually the wait isn't too bad reguardless, though. The prices are very reasonable.
Christopher Vaughn
real tasty, I visited brasa on a busy lunch and got a table for one. looking at the menu it has quite a few vegeterian choices despite specializing in meat, the service was quick waiter awesome and the old garage window with all the sunlight is cool, excellent spot
Michael Kleinhaus
Our server gave us a great explanation of the layout of the menu and what items were the best candidates for experiencing creole food. Our group had a great time here and thoroughly enjoyed the food.
Negma Farah
If you’re looking for some good comfort creole food, honestly look no further. I have been going to Brasa for years and every time the meal has been nothing short of delicious!
Annika Engberg
Brasa is my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. I've had everything on the menu at least once. I highly recommend the Pulled Chicken, Crispy Yuca w/ Citrus & Garlic, and the cornbread.
Imene Dominique
Delicious! Went with my 2 little ones and they ate it up! The pulled pork and pulled chicken tasty. The braised stewed beef was rich and a must eat!
jessica gartland
The rotisserie chicken and pepper vinegar sauce is ridiculously good. You can't go wrong. As a GA transplant it's the best/ authentic sweet tea around
Jeremy Ray
Great service and awesome food. Loved the chicken and Mac and cheese.
Amber
We've always only been able to order takeout as they are always packed. The wait is well worth it. The pulled chicken wiuth cream sauce and collard greens are ah-mazing!
Shashi Xiong
Best rotisserie in the cities!! The food is amazing and the garage style atmosphere is perfect for anyone. Try the red beans and rice! The sauce is delish!
D James
We waited just outside the door in a sunshiny warm lite sprinkling rain for 10 minutes, but we didn't care a bit. The wafting aroma of Creole dry-rubbed local raised chicken kept us eager to be seated. My wife noticed how everyone was smiling and having a great time. The blank faces of zombies staring into their smartphones was non existent... Oh right, annnnnd the food!!! YUM YUM YUM about sums it up, you must see for yourself! Trust me, "your going to like the way you look" errr, I mean LOVE it.
Creamed spinach with jalapeno anyone? Yes please. Grits with Cheddar like the first time you tried them when Grandma and Grandpa took you on a trip to Nashville when you were 11 years old? YES PaLEEZe!!! Funny because I didn't like grits when I was 11... Cornbread!
And that's all I have to say about that. Shrimp Gumbo, ..., ..., ...
Tierra Jorgensen
Amazing comfort food...moist & wonderful cornbread, flavorful rice, beans & greens. Chicken was also good and a large serving came with the meal. Would definitely go back!
Nick Sampson
Always amazing food. Usually we go to the St. Paul one. Both have amazing food and service. This place is a bit smaller but has a munch better outdoor area.
Josh Jaskulka
Hip vibe and cool (and small) interior, but the food wasn't great. My slow roasted pork sandwich at $11 was on the small side and didn't have a lot of flavor.
Ellis Mannon
The food was quite good. Prices are maybe a little higher than comparable restaurants, but not in an outrageous way. I had fried plantains that were excellent, and I would highly recommend that side.
Rebecca Cohen
A perfect and most delicious hole in the wall! Everyone in my group couldn’t have said enough about there meal. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city.
Marty McTigue
Brasa is located in Northeast Minneapolis. The restaurant has a garage and during the summer they open it up for beautiful inside and outside seating. I've had their pulled chicken multiple times now and I know I should branch out but it is super good! Highly recommended!
Jon Fraasch
Love this place. The employees are always incredibly nice, food is priced well, very good quality and delicious. Love the pulled chicken!
Alisha Louise
If I could I would order the entire menu. Every time. So far the only thing I have liked is the grits, and that's because grits just aren't for me. Some of the best chicken I've ever had in my life.
Dakota Hain
Oh man... Rotisserie chicken... <drop the mike>
Okay, there is more, just because all the sides are bomb too.
The only bummer is that they don't take reservations and it is often a long wait, especially for big groups. But still... Rotisserie chicken, I love you.
joey shearen
Great service good food. Great happy hour options!
Steven Sparkman
The pork and over easy egg was great. They make really good corn bread, but the corn cake was amazing. I would go back just for those.
Luis Beltran
I love this place! It has food that reminds me of my abuela's. The collards with smoked turkey are a thing of beauty! Lots of atmosphere and one of the best places to eat in North East MPLS
George Pseudonym
One of my all time favorite restaurants. The only issue is that it's so good that it gets super busy! Of all the things I've ordered over the years I've liked all of it.
Eric Weiss
Small place, great when it's nice out. Fantastic healthy food.
Jim Hansen
Great food! Many Good GF Items including their excellet rotisserie chicken dish and chicken dumpling soup.. They should revive their "Longest Night Party"
Jacob Korinek
This place is amazing!!! Highly recommend this for anyone but especially groups of 4 or more. You can get a good amount of food family style to share... makes for a fun meal!!
Jake Wilson
Great place to eat lunch. Had an excellent pork bowl, but they have all types of options there. Very good spot overall.
Kollin Leisinger
We received a gift card for Brasa a couple of years ago now and the food was so delicious, my wife decided to give up cooking Thanksgiving dinner and instead our new family tradition is to order from Brasa for the feast. Highly recommended.
Andrew Zoller
Great southern comfort food. The pork and over easy eggs bowl is a must! Curry chicken is a close second.
Cassie Bentley
So really good food. Never been to this location before. A little disappointed that they dont have the home made sodas or the mac and cheese my kids love. But still good food.
Daniel Harris
I love that they use meat from local farms here. The restaurant is tiny, but the food is amazing. The last few times we have gone, the service was a bit lackluster, but overall well worth the trip.
Brian Thielke
This place is to die for. They have amazing pulled chicken, which I like as a part of a sandwich. They offer delicious sides like corn bread, yucca, grits, rice and beans. Pure comfort food!
Oliver Barbeau
Absolutely delicious, and love the Rotisserie style. So fast, love the QR code phone ordering.
Robert Page
Visited the twin cities for an anniversary. This place was on my list of places to try out, though we nearly messed up the timing and missed it. I am very happy we didn't, it was the best food I have eaten out in a long time. Highly recommended.
Pavel Ushakov
It takes quite a bit of time to grab waiter's attention and order food, but once ordered the food comes pretty quick. Great choices with a lot of side dishes.
Ryan Butz
The food is great and the atmosphere fun and cozy. I'm looking forward to taking my lady there in the summer so we can sit outside. Make sure you get fried plantains!

Service and food is delicioso! I would get 5 stars but a lot of time there's a wait which obviously is a good reflection on the restaurant but it just sucks when you want to be spontaneous and go get really good food at Brasa
Glydewell Burdick
One of my favorite restaurants, period. The food is amazing - I don't think of myself as looking Cuban food, but I love their whole menu.

Cool open space with fantastic food. Plates are great for sharing or, if hungry enough, eating alone. And there are plenty of great side options including yuca!
Cory Gloe
I love this place. The food is ridiculously good, and you can't make a bad decision. They have a great patio as well, so it's a great place to go in the summer.
Jared Kolle
The food was pretty good. Some expensive items on the menu but worth a try if you are a chicken lover!
Khoi Pham
Great tasting food but very mildly defined as Creole food. It was more like Carribean style. Also not many options for Pescatarians.
Ms. Byers
Really good soul food and they have vegan items.
Tara Bros
One of the best bbq sandwiches I have ever had, plus their spicy vinegar is a treat all by itself, not the cheapest place around, but the food tastes like its far more expensive than it is anyway.

Amazing food, great service, and they had our dinner served just minutes after we ordered it. Can't wait to go back!

They're currently under construction- so outdoor/patio seating only.
But, the food was good and the staff was friendly. Would try again

Tiny place, but they pack in all the right flavors - so good. They also have a nice patio for when the weather is nice to give you more seating options.

The service was great. We had a large group, and our server was really helpful in ordering the right amount of food.
The food was excellent, as well.

Service is very friendly and quite fast. We love the pork sandwich! They have possibly the best collard greens north of the Mason Dixon.

I love everything about this place. The food is delicious, the drink selection is great for a small place and the atmosphere is calm, fun, familial and intimate all in one.
