Reviews of Bloomington ChopHouse
Kind of confusing as they are attached to another restaurant that's associated with Hilton. Because of this, orders are from the same counter.
Overall the service was great, atmosphere was relaxing and the food was fresh.
The one downside is my burger wasn't seasoned which is not what you'd expect from a steakhouse. Hence the 4 star vs 5 star review.
I had the wedge salad and the salmon, both were excellent. Its not that often I find a restaurant in a hotel this good but food and service were great.
For reference I travel both domestically and internationally around 120 nights per year eating all sorts of local foods.
Expensive place to dine. Food options were good, but everything is Ala carte. I had the salmon which came with some oriental noodles. It was good.
Arrive early for happy hour where some wines are half price. The skillet cookie was delicious.
This breakfast was so delicious 😋 I had the French toast with wipped creme and my spouse had the breakfast sandwich and fruit platter with coffee ☕️. The food was very good and the place is super clean. The server was nice but had a serious demeanor but overall great dining experience.
Really like this hotel and this bar. One of the main reasons I stay here. I hate when you sit at the bar at 9:30 and the bartender rudely says, "We close in 20 minutes." Great, I only stopped by for a night cap.
Good place to eat. Dinner for 2 or Business lunch. Very clean ..Servers do 110%. Very impressed how the dinner went. Very impressed overall. Food outstanding. What ever mented to be served hot serves hot opposite yo cold. Place was crowed but We were served like only us were there.
Buffet was good. Nothing special. Waitress was absolutely great. The manager on duty Abraham was horrible. We pre paid for 6 people and 2 of them had a delayed flight and couldn’t make it. Abraham laughed and said there’s nothing he can do about it. That’s $80 wasted and 20% gratuity already applied for 6 PEOPLE. Absolutely horrible manager. Someone should look into him. Any place from other restaurants to department stores are accommodating.
When the reservation was made we weren't told that the dining room wasn't open on Father's Day. So we ate a $300 meal in the bar area. The steaks were good, the lobster bisque was fishy tasting, not smooth and creamy at all. It was more like a broth. The mac and cheese wasn't creamy, it was dry. Very disappointing.
Food was good. But 13 bucks for 5 pieces of Shrimp, come on!
Excellent service, excellent staff, and excellent food. No reason to deviate from the hotel with a restaurant like this located inside of it. A+
Date Night on Saturdays is an awesome deal! For $80 you get a salad to share, two entrees, a bottle of wine, and a dessert to share!!
Good Food, great service. We highly recommend this pub.
Our Waitress K, she was great. Very honest with the menu! Her intuition was appreciated by my family and I. Clean facilities and management said hello as well before we left. Gem!
Unique and tasty food, menu that changes every so often to not bore clients, good drink selections, courteous staff.
I was happy to hear that they had wild caught salmon!
There were five us on a Saturday night. Not too busy. Our steaks had too much sauce on them, almost like covering up something. You want the guest wanting more, so a little goes a long way.
Absolutely fantastic! Great service and friendly, very capable servers.
Used for takeout; very mediocre. Honestly, unless you are trapped within the hotel, take a look at the various outstanding locations nearby. Redstone, Wildfire, and others all come to mind. The steaks and service are superior. Not terrible, but definitely not worth the cost. Happy Dining!
Food was ok. Service was lacking tremendously.
Great food and our server Michelle was wonderful!! Very reasonable prices for great food and service! App, 3 entrees, 2 desserts and a cocktail under $150! Thank you and look forward to visiting again!!
Thank you Paul for taking such good care of me and my whole, and I mean whole, family.
Came here for restaurant week. The menu they had chosen for this was perfect. We started with the French onion soup and the lobster cake. The French onion soup was perfect and wasn't too overly done. The crab cake was not over done either. It was very flavorful. I think the only thing may have been that it was a little salty. We got the buttermilk chicken sandwich with the sweet potato fries for the entree. The fries were awesome and sandwich was the same. The chicken was so moist and cooked to perfection. The seasoning was perfect and the Sriracha topping was a great addition. Our server Annette was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. We felt right at home. We ended up taking the desert and the lobster mac we ordered to go since we were stuffed. The portions are very filling. We would definitely come back to this place!
The food is a priced for fine dining but the service did not match the fine dining atmosphere. In a place where you are paying $50 for a steak one should never have to pour your own wine or ask for water. We also asked for bread with our meal which should be automatic since there are bread plates on the table. I have no issue paying for a nice dinner but part of the experience is being served. I just felt the service was lacking. The calmari starter was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly and my wife's salmon was a decent size portion. The sides were very good. Our parfait desert was a miss for me. I think it would be better with ice cream rather than cream.
I stopped off here on my way to the airport. The breakfast was tasty and the price was fair. They also have Gluten Free options!
The service was fantastic, the server got us our food within minutes!
I highly recommend this place!
Service was very slow and the appetizers were great during happy hours. We tried all of the appetizers on different days and they were delicious. I ordered room service and they were prompt. I spent a week at the hotel and I was extremely pleased with each thing that I ordered except the crab cakes.
Very impressive brunch.
I couldn’t believe how good the prime rib scramble was and our server was also amazing.. she knew the menu very well and made proper recommendations when we told her the type of food we were looking for.
My colleague had the crab benedict and I caught him licking the plate after he finished every last bite.
Cannot wait to come back! The food was Amazing food, felt like a steal with that groupon! The food surpassed our expectations, everything we ate was perfection! The manger came to check on us, so friendly and caring! Our waitress Sari was helpful, fun, attentive, kind, etc. We will definitely be back
We just went for drinks after the rehearsal for a wedding and the server was attentive and helpful! Beers were good, obviously. One of family members orders some food and it was really good!
Great place, great food, great service!
My boyfriend and I decided to check out this place during restaurant week because we were in the area. I was expecting mediocre but got excellence (and I am critical). We ended up eating at the bar but the service was wonderful. Chad the bartender is a character. They did forget to give us our appetizers before our entree, but then they gave us 4 extra scallops to make up for it and we were happy. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, as well as the spinach and green beans. The twice baked potato looked amazing (and big enough for 2) but I didnt get a taste. The house chocolate cake is delicious. I was really surprised that a Hilton Hotel could have such as good restaurant. I recommend you check it out.
Friendly, polite, fast professional staff. Good menu. Decent selection. Decent price point for a hotel restaurant. Good food - everything was as expected.
I went during lunch — the Choo House was closed but the neighboring bar/café which is called Olive and a part of the same restaurant as Chop House was open.
I've been to some expensive restaurants but this one takes the cake. The meat is cooked perfectly. The lobster mac and cheese is to die for. It was my first time going yesterday and I am excited to go again. Well worth the price.
Phenomenal experience. Very professional, attentive service. Exquisite!
I want to thank the ChopHouse staff and Jordan for the wonderful, experience. We hosted our son's grooms dinner at the ChopHouse October 24th. The service, the food, the venue were all perfect.
Best quality steakhouse in the area. Such a warm welcome and great memories.
My wife and I went here for an impromptu date night and we absolutely loved the food. Both the hostess and the waiter were extremely nice and had great conversation with us.
First time having dinner at the Chop House and it was great!!! Service was wonderful, my Denver cut steak was delicious and will be back for more!!!
I had a one time bad experience with the Bloomington Chophouse, yet after a year, I thought to give it another try. We were a party of four. I was the only one to ask for a Flat Earth draft beer. The price was average ($6.00). When I was handed with my bill, my beer went up to $11.00. I didn't want to stur up a dialogue with the waiter, because he was not the one who took the drinks order and didn't want to disturb the ambiance, either. I thought I'll write a feedback to the restaurant when I get home. Unfortunately, they don't have the "contact us" on their website.
Otherwise service was very good and food was to the satisfaction of the group.
Good service. Good food. Good atmosphere. It is a very nice spot. Great for business lunches. Get the crab cake(s). Great spot to check out for Restaurant Week. Their prime rib sandwich with au jus, pretty damn delicious...and spot on sweet potato fries.
Felt ghtful. Very good choice in meats
I dine in with them first time coming in i didn't know it was part of the hotel but it was nice going tho its pretty expensive
food was fantastic, but pricey
Great staff at the Olive Bar but the Chop House needs to reopen to meet the needs of their community and not just that of the of the traveler. True neighborhood jewel trying to find their identity.
The food was good enough, but portions are ridiculously small. $31 for three scallops cut in half??
Great food. Great choices. Excellent Service. But prices were just a tad high.
Food was great. Manhattan tasted like bitters, which some may like, but I prefer a more traditional Manhattan.
I didn't really know what to expect here but I was surprisingly impressed. The staff was super friendly and relaxed but professional and the food was very fresh and yummy.
Great food and Service! The restaurant was a little cold, ladies will want to dress warm.
Excellent meal and service. The gluten free options are varied, with many choices. A real gem hidden in the Hilton.
Great steaks and shrimp in a hotel-based setting.
I can never say enough good about this place! I discovered this gem last Spring and I am delighted to be back in the area for another eight weeks because it means I get to eat here again.
