What a fabulous experience! The flavors were quite wonderful - the calamari was honestly a bit cold like it had been sitting for too long before it got to our table but the flavors were amazing! The sea bass was phenomenal! 10/10. The lobster special was odd and was quite underwhelming. There seemed to be more cheese/corn rather than lobster meat. I also was curious as to where the claws were? 🦞 the margarita was delicious as was the Autumn mule (it was like fall in a cup!) service was great as well.

The service was absolutely amazing. 4.5 ☆ if I could give half stars. One of my best dining experiences service wise so far. The building, decor, and atmosphere is beautiful. They even have nice bathrooms. We ordered bread is life, a burger with sweet potato fries, and some nachos. The sauces for the bread and the fries were to die for! I wanted the prime rib sandwich but they were out (reason for the 4 star rating). I plan on returning and getting steak.

I want to say this is hands down one of my favorite places to visit. The ambiance, the food, the staff. Everything is 100%. I celebrated my birthday in February and it was the best birthday ever. My friends also love this place and we always go back for special events. Keep doing the good work. Let me say it again, the food is AMAZING.

Had my first experience at Baldamar with the Sunday Brunch ($34.95) to celebrate me and my sister's birthday. First I must the ambiance here is very pleasant and has the fancy vibe, but not pretentious! A perfect middle ground of that fine dining experience imo.
As for the food at the Sunday Brunch... Amazing.
While not a huge amount of items (about 10 items + pasta and dessert bar), all the items are high quality and something you'd expect to be served as an entree! The staff did a great job keeping an eye and refilling the food items.
Servers were very nice and accommodating. They even brought my sister and I a birthday coupon($15) and a peanut butter caramel pretzel ice cream which was delicious 😋
Would recommend to anyone wanting a better Sunday brunch experience and I'll definitely be back to try their lunch and dinner times.

Although very spendy, I was were pretty much blown away by the service and food. Our apps were really good ( fancy French fries and some delicious bread), sorry I don't remember the names!
We were celebrating a birthday and we had crab salad, salmon, chicken. All were very good. Our server, a young guy was attentive but not overly. He did an excellent job. None tried the steak because of the prices but maybe next time. Very nice atmosphere. Its a great place for a special occasion. Oh and the desserts, wow. The chocolate cake and Key Lime Pie 😋

Yesterday was my first time visiting Baldmar and my experience was BEYOND amazing!! Renee I believe his name was, is an amazing waiter. He is extremely attentive and helpful. He made my friend and I feel comfortable and he casually engaged in conversation to see what we might be interested in, as far as food choices. Everything we ordered, he explained it thoroughly and waited in case we had questions. The food was amazing! I am a very picky eater and the food here was 5 star! The presentation of the appetizers was perfect! The temperature of the food was just right as well. It was overall an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! The only con is the pricing. It is definitely one of the most expensive meal I've ever paid for; my bill alone was over $120 however, it was 100% worth it.

Very nice atmosphere, one of the best services. The food is delicious. Portions are big. I have been for lunch. We had 2 appetizers for 4 people to share (tuna poke and bread plate- both were amazing), then half sandwich half salad and I was full and had to take a box for the half of the sandwich. The breads are so good! Highly recommend for a nice indoor dining experience.

I went there yesterday for my first time. Our server Jennifer made it the best experience. She had supreme customer service! I was slight stuffy and craving a hot toddy and made me a make it your own! Brandy she picked was perfect. We started with oysters and calamari. Both were fresh and amazing flavor. I have never tried a tuna poke bowl and this was so flavorful with light chips. We then got the ribeye Oscar way and Brussels sprouts! Brussels sprouts were to die for! Amazing food and perfect service. I’ll be back soon!!!

The food is very good, spending, but matches the vibe. Its a loud place just from the amount of people having thier own conversations. We had the buffet for brunch. I can not eat eggs, but there was other things I could enjoy. My favorite part was the pasta chef. He makes your dish right in front of you. A good people person he was.

This is simply one of the best and finest restaurants in Minnesota. I have been wanting to come here since I saw it on an instagram food page I follow. They had posted about it when it opened. Their pictures and review made me want to come here ever since. I was not disappointed. Everything about this restaurant fulfilled and exceeded my expectations! From the ambiance and nice servers to the great food menu and portions. Everything about this restaurants was spot on! My only regret is not coming here sooner. Valentines ended up being my first time for my girlfriend and I. She was even impressed with the restaurant. Will definitely be back again soon!

I am so glad that we finally decided to come here. The Appetizer Bread is Life was so good. The Honey Jalapeno Butter was AMAZING! I am not sure what the middle one was but that was delicious as well. I ordered the Crispy Cajun Chicken Sandwich, the chicken was perfect. Still juicy and it had an excellent cruchiness to it. My husband ordered the Big Easy Sandwich. The fries are excellent, the only downfall to both sandwiches are that they are messy. So ladies wear your hair back. I ordered a drink called, The Painkiller and it definitely lives up to its name. We had a wonderful experience here from the food, to the service. We received everything surprisingly fast, and I loved that other servers came to check on us and take our dirty dishes away. Will come back on the future.

First time visiting for Sunday Brunch Buffet (until 2PM) and I already can’t wait to come back! Sleek decor and very lively environment. The servers were on point and very friendly, never had an empty mimosa (GET THE BOTTOMLESS) or water glass 👌🏽 food was phenomenal! Plenty of options to choose from. The prime rib was my personal favorite. It’s really hard to find a buffet where everything is good. I’m definitely coming back soon to see what dinner is about.

Since it was my first time I ordered several appetizers, a meal and a drink. My favorite was the Painkiller cocktail, Fresh Oysters and the Honey Sriracha wings! I also ordered the Roasted Cauliflower, Ahi Tuna Nachos and Lobster Roll add Bacon which fantastic with truffle fries.

When booking before dinner on the weekend be advised that you can only have brunch as that the only menu served at that time. I made a reservation online, called and confirmed the date, time and other details still the was no confirmation that they’d only be serving brunch, until we were ready to order.

For six people, we ordered $400+ worth of food which included couple of apps, steaks, fish, sides, and bread. The calamari app was my favorite app we ordered. Steaks were pretty good - nicely seasoned. My favorite cut was the rib-eye. The sides we ordered (brussel sprouts, mashed potatos, and mushrooms) were delicious as well.
Service was good - our server was very tentative and nerd out on the menu 😅. Overall, a pretty good steakhouse.

The brunch buffet had a lot to offer, in terms of variety and quantity. But not much selection for vegetarians & non-pork options. Good selection of breakfast favorites such as Eggs Benedict, along with a Pasta Bar & Prime Rib. Even though there was a lot to choose from, none of the dishes really felt like something I would want to order off a menu again. Just lacking in flavor, for example, the Paella was really bland. For the price ($34.95), I did not think the brunch buffet would be worth going back for. Only a one-time experience for me.

Stopped in for a weekend lunch happy hour. The burger was fantastic, I went with a double which was bigger than I expected, a single suffices. Fries where enough to share. Atmosphere and interior is done extremely well. Parking is a bit of a challenge as mall parking seems to monopolize the parking spots. Will need to return to try some steaks!

My friend D and I visited Baldamar on a Wednesday evening, about 6PM, wasn't too busy, got seated right away. They do have outdoor seating. The atmosphere is nice. The service was great. They took our drink order right away and checked in regularly to make sure we were good. The steak and scallops were cooked perfectly-10/10. The calamari was lightly breaded, had a nice sauce to it 9/10. Clean bathrooms.

Went with a group of 8 and the steak was perfect! They were featuring 8oz wagyu beef so we ordered that as an appetizer. The tuna poke and the bread of life appetizer was good, I wouldn’t recommend the brussels sprouts, mushrooms or the mash potatoes for the side dish. Truffle dipped fries is a must if you have room. All the entrees were perfectly cooked and everyone left very satisfied and full. We ended the night with lavender crème brûlée which I thought was a little too sweet and also the 50 shades of chocolate cake which was a bit dry. Service was phenomenal! I don’t remember the waiters name but he was very funny and attentive. Definitely would recommend this place if you want some good steak without driving downtown.

Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here. They were great with accommodating for the number of guest we had! They even allowed us to bring a cake and place it in the fridge for us. They took great care of us and had an amazing experience, so much so I forgot to get more pictures. The drinks…the food, Everything was 10/10!

Miso sea bass is a must try. The scallops were tender as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is a little pricey but the quality of the food is well worth it. Plus the brunch options on Sundays is another must try.

Overall experience was great! The calamari was delish! Cesar salad was amazing, its not just an ordinary cesar salad, there’s something in it that made it so delicious! I got a miso Seabass, the fish melted in my mouth, however, the sauce was a little salty though. For non-alcoholic drinkers, I love the “red drink” (forgot the name of it 😂). My friends and I are planning to go back again and will definitely try something else.

Always a good experience at Baldamar. We typically sit at the bar or the bar area since we are not the best at planning ahead (they book up pretty quick for dinner reservations). We had a friend book a reservation this time and sat in the main dining room area. The server was super helpful and explained many of the dishes on the menu in deep detail (without us asking). We have had quite a few dishes on the menu and have never been disappointed. For sides, the Truffle Fries and the Cauliflower are a go to for us. We have tried different steaks, the sea bass, and even the burgers... it was all amazing. Definitely recommend for a high end, up beat restaurant in the area.

We ordered the Bread of life, Brussels Sprouts, and a spicy char grilled street corn for some appetizers. I say yes,yes yes, check this place out.

Wow! Came here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! The food was on the pricier end, but worth every dollar and bite! Their fresh oysters and steak is a must try! The ambience was chill and laid back even though it was busy. Definitely returning for another special occasion!

This place is amazing. A one of a kind place with localy sourced products that shows a thought of supporting the community they serve. The design and layout of the place can only be described as classy. The meal they serve is as satisfying as the feeling of walking threw those over-sized doors.
Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and all our questions. He made every effort to accommodate us in all regards; thanks dude my mom realy liked the fifty shades of chocolate.
I will definitely recommend this establishment to those I know, and I will be visiting again soon.

Modern & beautiful place with excellent food presentation, great service & variety on their menu. One less star just for high prices. Crab salad had romain lettuce under cuc slices. Even though high priced, I will be going back as it feels good to treat yourself/others to the other perks that are important to an excellent experience. Would give 4.5 if could.

I've been here a few times now and have eaten almost every appetizer now. I wish I took pictures of everything! The first time I went I was just so impressed with the professionalism of the server and knowledge. The old fashioned was terrific! I have always stuck with the sea bass and my other half gets the ribeye (always cooked perfect! I know it sounds so simple but the bread and butter is amazing (especially the jalapeño butter which is not spicy for you Minnesota spicy people). The elote dip (probably spelled that wrong, it's a play on Mexican corn) was a recommendation by the server and it was awesome! The oysters are good and when we went there were two different kinds. Some friends had the chicken which they loved. The scallops are always cooked perfectly as well! They are so great about getting dishes out of the way for you and they will box anything up for you. The wait staff is always so polite and have wonderful personalities. My absolute favorite restaurant!

Had a phenomenal experience for my anniversary. They were able to seat us right on time with our reservation and sat us in a perfectly lit booth. The interior is inviting and open with what looked like a separate event room. JB was our waiter and I cannot say enough great things about his service, a true professional. Extensive knowledge of the restaurant and both menus (cocktails & food). He nailed the smoked old fashioned presentation. I also enjoyed the Oaxacan old fashioned with that hint of coffee for a nice change. The bacon lobster Mac n cheese was my kind of spicy and the street corn with chips were super flavorful. Probably had the best ribeye of my life (my girlfriend seconds that) in addition to the short rib. The short rib was on the sweeter side with flavors of tamarind & mango. It was a nice contrast to the steak. Both were prepared with no complaints. We ordered the lavender creme brulee and it did not let me down. Cannot wait to go back!

I walked in with no reservation. Sat at the bar without a wait. Had an old fashined, ribeye steak, baked potato, and asparagus. All were done perfect and delicious.

So this has been one of the most positive experiences in a while. We made a trip here to try out the food and upon walking in we were greeted and seated immediately. There was no waiting or any funny business. We then sat down and were greeted again by our server Joel. Joel was ver charismatic and friendly and best of all he was a fellow foodie. He went over the menu and explained everything clearly.
We got to speak to Joel a bit and loved his attitude and his customer service skills. Joel was possibly one of the best servers we have had in a long time. We started our order with the artichokes, oysters, baccon and scalopes. The artichokes were divine omg the flavor and tenderness in them were beyond what words can describe. The source was very flavorful and creamy leaving you wanting more. The portion size was good. Then came some baccon. Omg the size of it was very generous and Joel explained that it was smoked for 18 hours. The nice tender pork belly was cooked to perfection and and cheries on top with shot of bourbon that I ended up drinking instead of dipping or drizzling on my perfect swine.
The oysters were described perfectly and were smooth yet delicate and had a creamy taste. There was no need for hostashish or hot sauce to kill the marvelous flavor. The scalopes were seasoned to perfection and not rubbery or hard. The presentation was as if picasso created this masterpiece and the flavors were all over the place making your senses go wild. This was all washed down with a pinot noir that was fabulous all in itself.
Joel then came back to take our dinner order. We then spoke about places to eat and recomeded things to each other and were incredibly happy with him. Any server who can make an instant connection like Joel did is a master of his craft. For dinner Joel recommend a lobster resoto that had a lemony champagne sauce that was on point. The flavor didn't kill the lobster taste and it also came with a lobster tail that my other half devoured. The chef did a spectacular job with the presentation of the dish as well as the creation and the flavors

We love this place! Bartender extraordinaire Andy is so kind and takes care of his Patrons. All of the staff are so smiley and welcoming. The food here is just the added bonus. So damn delicious! The portions are generous and their little touches, like leather placemats with a knife and fork that get rolled out in front of you, oh so cool. I’ve never seen that before in a restaurant….
We will be back early next month. As a matter of fact, this will become one of our staples. 💯 Thank you Andy and Staff at Baldamar. 💜

Exquisite! The waiters are handsome and the food is delicious. Definitely one of the best brunch spots in the Twin Cities! I’ll be back for dinner! The brunch is reasonable and a great vibe. I loved the Cajun pasta and the prime rib egg benedict!

Great place. The staff was amazing and attentive. The service was very good and fairly quick. The food was delicious...especially all the sides.the seafood is amazingly fresh and tastes that way. The decor is that of a steakhouse but a bit more casual and comfortable than stuffy. High ceilings, dark wood. There is a big bar and high tops...there's also a more traditional dining room and an outdoor patio as well.

Ended up w/ a change of plans so we decided to try out Baldamar for brunch. It was nice that they were able to fit us in since we did not have a reservation n there was 5 of us. Food was delicious. Mimosa wasn't anything special. It was like any other mimosa you get.

Had been on my radar for quite awhile. Anniversary night approached and we reserved a table. Our server Ben (the one that looks like a swashbuckler) was second to none with descriptions and service - the best! Food phenomenal! Had a Ribeye & Waygu steak - Calamari & Sea-Scallops! Mashed & Brussels on side. I really wanted the Halibut as well but next time!

The appetizers here we're the real winner ( we got the bread and the brussel sprouts ) both were amazing and I would come back for the again.
For the main dish we got the burger as I wasn't feeling too fancy that night haha. Burger was very good and I really enjoyed the sauce and style they did for it. They really only had the one burger so glad I enjoyed it.
Wasn't a big fan of the desert but that is likely my preference.
Would definitely recommend checking out!

Right when I walked in the door I was warmly welcomed by the host with “where are your pants?!!” Yes I wear shorts in the winter - Im a rare breed. My waitress, Tamera, did an excellent job. She answered all my questions and asked the chef if they could make my chilled lobster sandwich grilled. In the end she guided me to a fantastic desert which was just enough. This was my first time here and will definitely be coming again, and to get the bottle of “Justin” haha - and for the great hospitality. Thank you Tamera!!!

Hit this spot again and I must say it was lit…shout outs to Ryan our server for his patience with our very BIPOC group that took forever to leave after close…he handled it well A+! All the food was good as well!
*some of the prices are on the high side but portion wise you can split things so its not that bad…for example we all (5+ ppl) basically split the pumpkin cheesecake and some ice cream cause it was so damn big…
Regardless, DELICIOUS FOOD and great customer service, but not the nicest on the pockets…I went for brunch and I can’t wait to go again!

Absolutely loved every second and $ I spent here. For the appetizer, we ordered tuna poke which was perfect. I ordered the 14oz NY strip steak which was delicious. My friends ordered the filet mignon and sea bass which they loved as well. To top it all off, DO try the Mocha Mud Pie for dessert. Was my first time but surely not going to be the last!

Awesome venue to go for a special occasion to enjoy fantastic atmosphere and excellent food. A number of folks in our party ordered steaks, which were amazing, and I splurged for the stuffed lobster tail which, if I remember correctly, was an off menu special. While my choice was expensive it was extremely good. I'm a die hard seafood fan and this was some of the best lobster I've ever had. Our waiter Andrew was equally as fantastic. He was a blast to talk with, was great with all the questions we had (which was a lot) and did great to really take care of us. Next time we go I'm hoping to have him with us. Overall, I have nothing but praise to sing for our visit.

We came here for our 1st time last night for my 5 year sobriety birthday. All I can say is WOW!🤩 The host sat us in the coziest L-shaped booth, these are my fav to sit close to my honey (I call them a "love" booth😍) Our server was STELLAR, Aaron was kind, personable and gave us great suggestions on food and an NA cocktail, Red Rosie 🌹 which I loved! We had the bread is life & calamari to start. (I'm coming back just for that bread!) We then had the ribeye, sea bass❤️, mushrooms and what Minnesotan would I be without ordering the lobsta Mac & Chz!?! Baldamar, you gave us one of the very best dining experiences ever! Absolutely AMAZING! Everything I ate was very tasty BUT I have to give an honorable mention to the creamy Parmesan mushrooms! Must try!! Jen was our server and she deserves mention as well. Very nice and friendly. She was very attentive even during the busy Saturday dinner rush. I will be returning and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience!

Delicious food and impeccable presentation, their manager Michael and the chef personally stopped by to see how everything was - made the experience very personable and impressive. As a former server/bartender of 5 years, I usually find myself making excuses and defending poor customer service when I dine out - oh they must be in the weeds, triple sat, short staffed, etc. today no excuses were necessary at Baldamar! I was so thoroughly impressed - I plan to return with my husband, my sisters, my parents… literally for any occasion I can think of to share this amazing place with. Keep up the great work! This level of care and customer service is appreciated and refreshing after such a tough 2020. Do yourself a favor and treat yourselves to dinner at Baldamar.

First trip, 4.5 stars, Very good overall! I’m not sure we were “wowed” by any of the dishes but they are all well done.
Above average steak for sure, everything is a little expensive, but overall the quality is good, so if I’m paying $24 for three scallops, these are the scallops I would like like to see, nice big scallops cooked to perfection. So overall nice dinner for us for Mother’s Day.
Beautiful decor, looks like it would be timeless and classic, slight music in the background, perfect volume, nice lighting, Although it’s the slightest tad too dark, and luckily my phone does some magic to take semi decent pics.
Worthy of a return trip, potentially a 5 star restaurant, really hard to give 5 stars based on one trip.

Our server was very knowledgeable and awesome to have, the food was delicious (steaks, calamari, bread with three dipping options, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and dessert) and the atmosphere was cool. We’ve been to some really nice steakhouses and this is now in our top two!

Wonderful food and service! Ben gave us recommendations and suggestions and answered all the questions we had.
We went for lunch and got lunch portions. I had the B.L.A.T (bacon, lettuce, avacodo, and tomato) half sandwich and upgraded my fries to truffle fries. The veggies were fresh and the bacon was perfect (not too crispy nor chewy).
My husband had the prime rib half sandwich with beer cheese soup. The prime rub was flavorful and melt in your mouth. The only complaint about the soup was that it was so cheesy, it needed 3 or 4 pretzels!
He also had the lobster mac and cheese (forgot the picture). Big chunks of lobster and super cheesy. Husband said there was too many onions, though.

Excellent food, great service but quirky, fantastic atmosphere. I've brought business associates here and they love it. The food has been top notch every time. Their servers are friendly and professional with a few curiosities. I had a server effectively read us the entire menu, it's not a short menu. This went on for over ten minutes and she blew by all my hints to get her to stop. I also want to encourage the bar to make craft cocktails. They appear to be craft cocktails on the menu but the bartender smashes all the ingredients over ice in a hot-from-the-dishwasher glass and dumps it in front of you. You're charging significantly more for these, put the effort and time in, staff another bartender if necessary.

Excellent all around! Jalapeño honey butter with the Bread is Life was flavorful but not spicy (perhaps that was a flaw but it was still good.) Brussel sprouts are a can’t miss. Calamari and tuna poke were both delicious if a little bit on the small side for an appetizer for a group larger than four. Truffle fries were perfect but the ribeye was truly the star. I had it Oscar style because why not? Perfectly seared and medium rare - guessing sous vide. Bearnaise was pure decadence and a nicely charred bunch of asparagus. Only nitpick was the crab was a pile of flakes. Some whole leg pieces would’ve put it over the top. Still highly recommended!

I've never had a bad experience here. Each time the waiters have been absolutely amazing. They made me feel comfortable and were knowledgeable about the menu and specials. They checked up on us enough that I didn't feel like I couldn't find them or that they were hovering. The drinks are great as is the food. The Bread is Life is my life. I could not recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back more.

Other choices they had were great, but my favorites were the shrimp cocktails and the toasts. I loved the lemon bars because it wasn't super tart and it definitely wasn't super sweet (because I'm not too big on sweets). The bottomless Mimosas were good, but it got me full real quick.

We had a wonderful time! I would have given 5 stars but here is why not, inconsistent with garnish for drinks I.e. one lemon drop martini with a lemon one without, one Corona with a lime one without. The lobster Mac and cheese was a huge disappointment! Way too spicy only 3 pieces of lobster and the cheese on top was all wrong. The atmosphere and staff was awesome! Would definitely recommend!

This was our second time here and the food was great both times. It's quite busy and noisy, hence the 3 stars for atmosphere, but it was also peak time on a Friday evening.

Beautiful restaurant including bathrooms and although the prices are high the quality and experience mirrors that price perfectly.

Don't waste your money on the chilled lobster roll, unless you really like eating bread more than you do lobster. They just dumped a few pieces with mayo on top of the very large bun that's not even cut fully. The salad was just greens with 2 pieces of tomatoes. This place was on my "want to go" list, but now that I have, it's not moving to the "star" list! The waiter was very helpful, though.

Decadence meets a t-shirt and jeans is my best description of the ambiance. Attentive, gracious waitstaff, generous portions, the best steak I have had in years, chocolate cake very similar in flavor to my tweaked version of chocolate blackout cake from Ebinger's. 12 ordered a grilled cheese...yes, they do have a children's menu. Husband and our family friend both had salmon. Preparation on point for the most part. Cocktails at the table included a King Crimson and glass of Riesling. Sides included street corn off the cob which had a medium spicy finish and wedge salad with homemade dressing. There had been a spill near the entryway on the tile. While staff had cleaned it and marked it with a yellow sign, it remained ice rink slippery. Dry towel and a spare carpet could have been handy here. Our friend's cane slipped. Had she been one step farther, she may well have fallen. More bacon on the wedge salad was anticipated, especially for the price. Other than that, a perfect meal. We will be back.

•Brooklyn Bonfire- Ordering this drink was a a fun experience & it tasted great! When they bring the drink out to you the glass is upside down with hickory smoke trapped underneath. The waiter picks up the glass and you get a nice scent of the hickory smoke before he puts the bourbon cherry in the glass where he then pours in the cocktail from a cute globe like glass. I almost ordered an old fashioned but the waiter suggested this-I’m glad he did! It was an awesome alternative and really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely order this drink again.
•Peaches & Tea- This drink was light, refreshing, and not too sweet! Again, presentation was great and taste even better.
•STARTERS & MAIN COURSE•
•Spicy bacon lobster Mac & cheese- This starter/side was SO delicious. It was creamy, it was cheesy, and there was plenty of lobster. Of course it also had delicious bits of bacon. Not too spicy but just a small kick-the perfect amount in my opinion.
•Lobster roll with a Cesar salad as a side- This lobster roll was so fresh and delicious! The brioche roll it comes on is buttery tasting and toasted with PLENTY of lobster. They are not stingy with their lobster either! It was everything we wanted in a lobster roll. The Cesar salad as a side was very nice, light, tasty, and refreshing!
•Tamarind braised short rib- This dish was amazing! The meat is so tender its unbelievable. And the flavors with the pickled mango salad and shaved asparagus on top added another delicious dimension. Not even to mention the sauce-yes it gets even better with the sauce! Portion size was also pretty generous. If you love short rib you will love this dish!
•Salmon Cesar salad- This Cesar salad was so refreshing with the fresh crisp lettuce, delicious dressing, crunchy croutons, and perfectly cooked salmon. It is a more than ideal meal portion for those looking for a slightly lighter option. The amount of salmon given was also very generous.
•DESSERT•
•mocha mud pie- This cake was SO worth it. If you like chocolate and coffee you will love this cake. It is an ice cream cake with of course that delicious cookie layer as we all know ice cream cakes come with. The crunchy cookie layer comes with a twist- roasted walnuts and yes it was a delicious combination. Not only that but they top it with whip cream, fresh hot fudge and caramel! This cake is not too rich but the perfect balance between chocolate and coffee with a little crunch. This was shared between 3 people and there was plenty left over. The size of the ice cream cake was absolutely ginormous and made to share.
Our Experience:
We came in for lunch without reservation. We were able to get seated quickly by a very friendly hostess. After seating we got water immediately and was greeted by our waiter, Chris. He welcomed us in and asked if we have ever been in before. It was everyone’s first time so he kindly ran us through the menu and highlighted some options. As we were ready to order he took everything down and put the order in right away. The food came out quickly, it had amazing presentation, and all tasted SO amazing. While we were eating Chris was very attentive and checked in often to make sure we didn’t need anything. Our waters were always filled when they got at least half way. The Manager Michael stopped by during lunch to make sure everything was to our liking. He was very friendly and it was pleasant speaking with him. A bit later the Chef Steve stopped by to make sure everything was tasting good. He was also very friendly and we enjoyed him stopping by as well.
Overall I would have to say this is one of the better restaurant experiences I’ve had which is why I chose to write this long of a review. I’ve never written a review for a restaurant and thought Baldamar more than deserved it!

5 star service during the dinner hours, 3 star during lunch. Food is always excellent any time of day, the kitchen is consistent. The atmosphere gets 4 star not 5 because the lighting is uneven over the tables. One side of the table is under the lights, like being under a spot light, and the other side is in the shadow, too dark to even see the menu without a phone flashlight. Overall, a quality place to dine

The service was just right - there when needed but allowed for good table conversation to take place. The overall aesthetics/atmosphere of this place is pleasing. 10/10, will return. If you can't get a reservation for the restaurant or patio, the bar is usually open. The cocktails are good, the food is great. Tried the lobster roll, scallops, and roasted cauliflower. Would order all of it again. The salted caramel ice cream was excellent, too!

We finally went to Baldamar for dinner and I can't believe we waited this long! The food was amazing, the staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere was energetic. The oysters were fresh, the Bread is Life comes with three dips made in house, and the Spicy Bacon Lobster Mac & Cheese was unbelievable. Can't wait to go try more items on the menu!

The service and food were excellent. It was hard for the 6 of us to hear each other, but that is pretty common these days. The only reason they didn’t get the fifth star is because we felt rushed. We had a cocktail, and were asked numerous times if we were ready to order, and when we did, the salads came out very quickly. But, before we could even finish the salad, the entrees came up, and there wasn’t enough room on the table for them. I realize we had an early reservation (5:15) on a Saturday night, and they probably had the opportunity to turn that table 3 times, but at the prices they charge, we should not feel rushed.

Another successful beach off of the founders of Manny's stead house in downtown Minneapolis and Six Smith this place has it all! The atmosphere is perfect, decor modern-chic, the staff knowledgeable and attentive!
It is on the pricier side but well worth the cost! If you're looking for some place new to knock your socks off you e found it!

This restaurant is serious about its ingredients and presentation, and with fairly serious prices, which is to be expected. What I did not expect was a big screen television in the main dining room ( over the bar ), and patrons wearing hats indoors .
Is it too much to expect to eat a fine meal and have conversation without the intrusion of a screen ( at least sound was muted), and that people could maybe dress up somewhat.
Only one of these issues can be attributed to the restaurant, and it was a fabulous meal!

I'm so sad to not be providing an excellent review for Baldamar. I had heard such good things about it, but found it to be quite average. I was entertaining business associates (and previewing it for an out of town visit from friends). We were seated at a nice corner booth in the bar. The atmosphere was pleasant. Our server was nice, but lacked polish. One thing I found odd was that she returned the receipt to sign with no pen.
I ordered a $50 filet. Mind you, everything is served a la carte, so that was $50 for just the piece of meat. It was undercooked even though I was very specific on how I preferred it done. They took it back and just recooked the same piece of meat including the pieces I had already cut off. I was provided with a steak knife that I had a hard time cutting the steak with because it was so tough. You should be able to cut a tenderloin with a butter knife. The sea bass my co-worker had was very good. This place is just way over priced for average food. I will be taking my guests to a different steakhouse next time, one that I've had a perfect experience at every time.

My husband and I received a gift card to Baldamar as a gift and finally decided to check it out last night. Our server, Red, was beyond amazing! She took the time to go over the entire menu for us in exquisite detail, including the off menu options. She was attentive, helpful, and very pleasant to talk with! We would go back again and definitely ask for her as our server!! The food was amazing and definitely worth the higher price tag than we are used to. Great for a date night out away from the kiddos!

Baldamar had become a favorite - several meals that were great - with great service. Salads, fish, and beef ribs really good. But, this last meal was a surprising disappointment - lamb chops. They were tiny (quarter size), thin cut, overdone (almost as if they sat for awhile then were served), and overly salty. I still recommend the restaurant, but stay clear of the lamb chops!

Staff was great, personable and attentive. Atmosphere is really nice. Appetizers are typical nice bar and grill apps with a higher price. The menu is pretty much an ala carte style as most entrees do not come with anything else. $61 for a rib eye with no sides. Add a salad and a side and your meal is close to $90. Plan on spending $200+ for a meal for two with drinks. The Old Fashioned is good. Overall, it was a good experience but for us a one and done type of restaurant since there are plenty of other Twin Cities restaurants with better food and value.

I went here for a family birthday party for my father in laws 70th birthday. The ambience is nice and the food is so good me and my wife came back a week later to eat here again. Only downside is thier vegetarian menu is very limited, if they had more options for vegetarians I'd probably eat here at least once a month if not more. Having said that I'll definitely come back for more family gatherings or if my friends want to try someplace new. I highly recommend it!

I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The dining room is very nicely decorated and the tables appropriately spaced. The service is friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my cocktail, Brooklyn Bonfire, and liked the choices of traditional and new beverage offerings. They also have NA cocktails that aren't just sugary, which is awesome. The appetizer / small plates are a lunchtime star. The nachos are an absolute must... They are so delicious and reheat very well at home (the portion size is impressive). I substituted a side salad for the fries and I was happy with the nice, fresh greens. I had no room for dessert, but I was tempted. This is a can't miss location if you're in or near Roseville.

We had a reservation and weren’t seated for over 15 minutes past our reservation time. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Scallops and burgers were delicious especially.
The quality of service was not what I would expect based on the price, though. I ordered a drink and was asked for my ID, which is obviously standard. The waiter then made a comment asking if I was really of age to be ordering alcohol. The comment was made in a rather disrespectful manner. Comments about someone’s perceived physical appearance are not appropriate to make as a server and made me uncomfortable. Asking for someone’s ID is expected and welcome and can be done in a professional manner without making the experience uncomfortable for guests.

I had the sea bass. AMAZING! Flavorfull, not overcooked on a bed of greens that had a little kick. The quality of the fish was so good that when i reheated it 2 days later it was even better. I had the Lobster macn cheese which was also very flavorful. The only thing is a few shells in my mac n cheese. I had to pick them out every so often which ruined the dish. I also did not get asparagus with my fish and it was on the menu. My waiter was kind and attentive. I cant wait to go for steak!!

Back again for brunch w/ hubby today, Sunday 03/14/2021. Definitely recommended! The cheesy hash browns, cajun pasta, shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, and of course the prime rib! There's also fruits, and desserts.

I love 6 Smith so I was excited to check out Baldamar and see what makes it different from their sister restaurant. The only complaint I have with my previous experiences at 6 Smith was the service. But my waiters at Baldamar are literally on point. The food is great, overall the quality was amazing. This is definitely a restaurant to try now and try in a few months, it's always going to keep changing.
Also the brunch buffet is insane. Hopefully it reopens after Covid.

We had a Sunday afternoon dinner here and it was incredible. Fresh oysters to start and a roasted cauliflower for apps. I've had the street corn here with a filet mignon before and it's awesome. I had a perfect miso crusted sea bass and he had a NY strip. It's really nice to have upscale dining in Roseville and the restaurant is beautiful.

The aesthetic of this restaurant is very modern. I visited on a Thursday around 5. Parking was easy in their parking lot. There was plenty of room around the bar to grab a seat. We arrived just in time for happy hour (Sunday’s are all day happy hour). The bartenders (Del and Sean) were super friendly and helpful. Service was quick and you could tell a lot of attention was paid to details in the restaurant. The food was good, however I was a little disappointed in the Thai calamari. I don’t know if it’s because we got the happy hour portion or if this would be the case with the appetizer option as well, but there wasn’t a lot of calamari but a ton of shredded carrots. It was very disproportionate between the two. Also the carrots were super oily. I would definitely go back, but I wouldn’t get the Thai calamari again.

Wonderful night, wonderful atmosphere. Fancy but still lively and enjoyable. Rib-eye was simply amazing, best one I have ever had. Definitely the choice to make if you are coming for a steak. Sides and appetizers were delicious. Calamari, Brussels sprouts, lobster mac and cheese were all really good. The bread side was amazing. Prime filet was good but not as quite as good as the prime. Ribs were nothing special. They were good but so is everything else. Very attentive staff. Cheesecake was wonderful too.
TL;DR Amazing food, great night, get the rib-eye and the bread.

UPDATE 03/07/2021: I went here for Sunday brunch. Highly recommend! The food was good, including the prime rib. The price was great for the choices offered. The staff was very careful and wearing masks. It is an all you can eat buffet, however they plate the food for you. So overall very good experience and lovely staff.
I recently went here with a friend for happy hour. We scored a table in the bar area within 10 minutes. The happy hour menu was really decent and had great deals. We both ordered the lobster roll sliders. I requested gluten-free and was expecting it to be wrapped in lettuce, but they had GF rolls. The lobster rolls had significant lobster stuffed in the roll. Because mine was GF it came on one larger roll. Mine was excellent with entire claw meat included. The lobster was literally falling from the bun. And the bun!!!, was soft, chewy and warm. I was delirious from all of that deliciousness. We had really good wine also that was on the happy hour menu and cheese curds. And if that weren't enough, the server was incredible! He was friendly, offered great suggestions, checked in appropriately without being annoying and our water glasses were constantly refilled. I honestly don't remember them being refilled, that's how discreet and quiet they are. I took home the lobster mac and cheese for my hubby. Again, there mac and cheese had significant chunks of lobster.
I will definitely be going back to try the seafood. The server said the seafood is fresh, like every other day shipped fresh.

We had some wine and a mocktail, the bread is life appetizer, twice baked loaded potato, filet mignons (one with brandy peppercorn and the other with blue cheese & fried onions), and the s’mores mud pie for dessert. Our server, Red, was super knowledgeable and personable which made our dining experience even better. We’ve already picked a date to dine there again so we can try more of what’s on their menu.

Baldamar is a very nice restaurant with excellent food and a friendly and competent staff. The bread appetizer, complete with a trio of butters/seasoned olive oil, is a must for bread lovers! Baldamar is primarily a steak house, but the sea bass is consistently delicious and the pork shank literally fell off the bone (in a good way)! We celebrated our anniversary and were delighted that they gave us a gift certificate for a future visit and a modest sized dessert to share.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It was our first time to Baldamar and they did not disappoint. The staff was top notch being friendly.and attentive.
We had the Manhattan and Old Fashion and they were delicious and prepared perfectly. For dinner, we started with a ceasar salad which I will not order again. Overall good but lacked flavor. After the salad the heavens opened and the remaining experience was awesome. We had the ribeye which was done to perfection and the flavor was just spectacular. The lobster mac and cheese was delicious and had plenty of chunks of lobster but I have to say the star of the show were the Brussel Sprouts. I have had Brussel Sprouts many times but the sauce.they use was to die for. I had a special moment with a greater power at first bite. LoL.
There is no doubt we will return and excited to share with friends and family. So happy they made it through the shutdown

We loved their happy hour oysters for $2. The Blue Point Oysters were our favorites. Very fresh and delicious. The lobsters rolls were underwhelming. The mayo sauce was too strong and the bun was tasteless. The spicy cheese curds were disappointing. Too much breading and salty. It overpowered any taste of the cheese. We love oysters, so we are def definitely coming back for those.

This may have been the best meal I’ve ever had. Everything exceeded our expectations. Blake, our server, was very professional and knowledgeable. He recommended the 7 spice wings as an appetizer and they were delicious! I ordered the prime rib eye and it was better than any rib eye I’ve had at other well known steakhouses in the twin cities. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and street corn as well. After dinner we enjoyed cocktails at the bar and Brian, our bartender, was phenomenal. He is an excellent mixologist and it is definitely worth your while to see him in action. I can’t wait to go back!

Wow. You have to come here just to see the restaurant itself. Amazing interior. The food was excellent as well. If you get an appetizer you have to try the bread is life. Warm french Baguette from Breadsmith with kosher salt on top served with sides of honey jalepaño butter, whipped butter, and chimmichurri. Got the Harvest Salad as well. So good. Had a maple vinaigrette with chevre cheese and walnuts that was balanced. Tried the beer cheese and drunkin tomato soups as well. Layers of flavor and complex as well. Definitely will be back to try more things on the menu.

This was our first night out to eat since January so if course we were very excited. Baldamar is very new and we had heard nothing about it. We started the evening with cocktails that were perfect. The black and white Manhattan is a winner for sure! Then on to the salad. How good a Caesar salad is, for ys a really good indicator of how the rest of the meal will be. To our disappointment, the Caesar was rather flavorless. The croutons were u seasoned and the dressing was barely there. Luckily everything was MUCH better after that. The sides were amazing! Brussel sprouts like i have never had before and lobster mac and cheese with large chunks of the delicious seafood. Then...the ribeye. The glorious glorious ribeye. It was just delicious! Baldamar is a winner in my book and we will be back for sure as thier menu grows!

We decided to visit for Valentine's day and we were not disappointed.
Reservation was made for 5:45 and we were seated only 5 mins late - not bad for one of the busiest restaurant days of the year!
Our server was very diligent in describing the new restaurant and the menu items. The menu is huge and we were debating what to get and we decided to start off with his recommendations - brussel sprouts and street corn.

The brussel sprouts were out of this world incredible - best ones I have ever tried ! Had a slight sweet soy/garlic flavor that was just irresistible. The corn was amazing and tasted just like Elote albeit a bit more oily with the sauce at the bottom. Couldn't stop eating!
Husband got the chimichurri hangar steak and I got the scallops - both were amazing in their own right. The chimichurri steak was slightly tart but delicious. The scallops also had an asian-inspired flavor to them and I loved them! Very thick cuts of scallops and very soft. The gnocchi was some of the best I've ever had.
We were stuffed after that dinner but still saved room for dessert and decided to get the apple cobbler. Oh my. It was soooo delicious! Twice baked to get that crispy crumble and the ice cream on top was perfect.
100% would dine again.

We sat on an outdoor table over the summer, and the server (my apologies I forget her name) was very well versed about the menu. I love to go to places where the servers really know what they are talking about versus pulling out their cell phones or playing their ways around our questions.

My first time at Baldamar was a very good experience. The waitress was very knowledgeable, which enhanced my visit. She told me what was popular on the menu, and was honest about what was maybe not the best options. This place has some excellent steaks, but I opted for seafood. I had the Miso Marinated Sea Bass. It surpassed my expectations! It was beyond flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious! The drinks were excellent as well. Again, the service was exceptional. It is very expensive. But as the old saying goes... You get what you pay for.

I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a good steak, it rivals PS steak, Mannys, etc. The service has significantly improved, our server Ben was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. As far as ambience, we sat in the back area which was significantly quieter than the bar dining area. Dinner conversation would be challenging in the bar area without noticeably raising your voice.
Critiques, I enjoy some type of bread with my meal and the options were limited. The table was a little small, it was difficult to accommodate drinks, apps, app plates, silverware, etc. Not a deal breaker, but it was an issue. Overall, great date night location and prices are reasonable for an upscale dining experience.

Baldamar? Great steak in a suburb?? Yeah. I’m definitely loving this place. The food is great. Wine selection is surprisingly good, and the cocktails look cray. Having just moved from the bay, the prices weren’t too bad, but it is definitely an upscale restaurant. Steaks are the most expensive option on the menu, but also worth the price. My prime cut fillet was very good and rivales that off the downtown joints. Place was busy, but we will see how much of the traffic was from opening day... I’ll be watching this restaurant’s future with great interest.

The food is very mediocre. My strip stake was not fresh, but still a nice cut. Drinks were ok. It took the bartender literally 20 seconds to make my old fashioned. Well done crew. I actually looked for something to complain about. Not really but when I write a review I like to post the full experience. And the only thing was the 8pm reservation turned into 9pm. But I would assume people are finally getting out and with capacity issues they made us wait in the car until people cleared out. Nothing they could really do about it.

The bone-in ribeye my wife ordered was prepared to perfection and the brandy sauce was a perfect accent. The sea bass and salmon entrees were generous portions, cooked to order and perfection. Though the hit was the Life is Bread and the paired butters and dips. The warm, fresh made baguette was perfectly chewy and crunchy, and asking for reloads of bread and dips was done for a small additional cost. We loved the meal, service and atmosphere. And though a drive from the western suburbs, it is worth it.

Went for lunch happy hour with a group of 5 and had a table in the bar. The waiter was very professional and attentive. Some of the group ordered lunch from the happy hour menu and others ordered from the main menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals (burgers, wings, lobster sliders, BLAT were all delicious).

We had a great experience here! Made a reservation for an anniversary dinner here and was not disappointed. The steaks were outstanding and the sides were also very delicious. We both ordered our own steaks and shared a salad and two sides. Everything was delicious. The server was very attentive and informative regarding all of our questions. The signature cocktails were also very tasty. Our meal was pricy, but worth it. Finally, about halfway through the dinner the hostess brought over a card recognizing our special occasion which was not requested or expected but a very nice touch.

I am giving them 3 stars because I have frequented this establishment but at the moment, I feel like giving them a big 0! I have sent multiple requests via the website request to book a party of 20 people and not one response. I finally call to try and schedule this party and am told that I have to email as that is the ONLY way the event coordinator communicates. I explained repeatedly that clearly the email method is not working as either it is the wrong link on the website or my request is not being responded too. I begged to leave a message and have someone call me back and against the staffs will they finally took a message. The person who took the message called me back 6 minutes later to tell me that they do not book out large parties on the weekends and the weekend I requested they already had other large parties to accommodate which contradicts itself. I then asked if the bar area was first come first serve and she stated the bar is but the tables around it are reservation only. Of course my next question is great can I reserve the tables in the bar area, mind you this is between lunch and dinner rush, and she said no you can't reserve the tables for a large party. I said well what if each family in my party wanted to do their own reservation again I was denied. So what I am hearing is we do not want your business, see ya bye. So it is worthless trying to book a large group party here however in general on a smaller two to four person scale I have had decent experiences, expensive but okay once in awhile but after the way I was treated this time I do not know that I will be back for quite some time.

I really wanted to like this place but my 1st impression wasn't the best. We walked in and 3 hostesses greeted us and they were dressed very sloppy. One was even wearing her bra on the outside of her clothes. Kind of tacky for an upscale place. I would think they would at least have a dress code. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive. Good job. I ordered the ribs, they were very tough with very little meat on them.
My husband ordered the lobster roll. He said it had a good flavor but on his second bite in, there was something hard. He showed it to the waiter and he took it back to show whoever. In a couple minutes a manager came out and said that they think it was a stem that got in there in processing. A stem with a 90° corner? Now that's funny for a lobster roll and fries. Where would a stem come from? We did not get offered any discounts, just an oops, sorry. It left us with a "yuck" feeling. Sorry Baldamar, I'm going somewhere else.

At that price point, i expect everybody's order to be close to perfect..pretty much everybody was underwhelmed by the level of doneness of their steaks. Several people sent them back. Some steaks were over cooked, others undercooked, and I was very surprised by this. In fact, just the day before, a few of us had steaks at Golden Corral and there was consensus that the Golden Corral steaks were markedly better. Mind you Golden Corral is 14 dollars all you can eat, Baldamar is 70+ just for the steak, no sides or drink. Anywhom...
I only ordered a chicken Ceasar and the chicken breast was over cooked and very dry.
I'm not a picky person, and I've literally never sent food back in my life. I didnt send this back either, but I didnt eat much of it at all and overall was quite disappointed in the food. My mother wants me to note that she was definitely urging me to send the chicken Ceasar back.
I've also ordered take away twice in the past. First time was ok, 2nd time they got my order wrong and charged me for a more expensive dish than they gave me in the bag..
So that's that. Maybe the chef had an off night, im not mad, just disappointed. I may try them again in the future but I'm definitely not in a rush..
Again, the service was amazing, Ben was cool. The ambiance is pretty nice too. Hopefully the food quality makes strides towards matching the rest of the experience.

The staff here is just the best. My 3rd time here and it never disappoints. The host helped us find a spot at the bar. Our bartender, Wendy, was friendly, funny and attentive. The manager jumped behind the bar and checked on all the guests while helping with service.
The food is always perfect!!! We had filets, mushrooms and cauliflower... everything was exceptional! Baldamar is quickly becoming our favorite steakhouse...my 1 wish I'd they would add escargot to the menu.

Baldamar is my go to place for excellent food and service. I was disappointed today to find out that their brussel sprout appetizer is flash fried. Somehow I had it in my head that a great place like this would pan fry them in olive oil. Nope, they do into the same frying oil used for french fries. Not the healthy option I had in my head... Other than that, I enjoyed my entree - I just have no healthy options here for appetizers.

Maybe it was a bad week... Maybe it was a odd time. The service was ok... The food was just as tasty as you would expect it. Being a nitpick the one first things I noticed about the place was something that they should definitely immediately do... There is a tremendous amount of hair & dust on the front desk wall, which is made out of wood if I remember correctly. My visit there was around the beginning of April 2022 so it may have been dusted by this point. I still give it 4 out of 5 stars. Either way, I'll be back at some point, it just may be a while. :)

The food at Baldamar is amazing. Five stars for that! The best steak I've ever had, hands down. The drink menu was also lovely. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, and things were brought to our table in a very timely manner, despite the restaurant being full. The seating was very comfortable. There were only two drawbacks. The first was that our reservation was for 6:45, and our table wasn't ready until after 7:00. There was no place to sit and wait for our table to be ready, so we were crammed in the entryway. The second drawback was the noise level. We had to shout at times to hear each other over the din of the other diners. Hanging some tapestries or something on the walls would go a long way to improve that aspect of the experience. Overall, however, we were very impressed! The vibe was sophisticated but new and fun. The price felt fair for the quality of food. We loved it and we will certainly be back!

I was in a group of 6 gals on a Saturday evening. Getting too old when going out for dinner does me in! My old fashioned was wonderfully strong and tasty; I had a headache before the food came. We were sitting in the middle of the main dining room and I had to strain to hear people. I gave up when the alcohol headache came on and started to smile and nod like my dad before he got hearing aids. Next time I come, I'm eating dinner at 4 pm so I can hear my companions.
I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon and regretted ordering it medium. I should have ordered it medium rare or rare. We ordered 4 or 5 appetizers to share and several of us liked the mushrooms the best. Someone ordered a chocolate cake for us to share. It tasted like coffee and I would have ate the entire thing if people weren't around.

Wonderful food. Be prepared for a higher than average price tag but it is totally worth it. We had the grill pressed chicken and New York strip with the street corn. Truffles fries for an appetizer. We may go back for an appetizer night as there were so many great options. The street corn was a definite hit. The aged prime New York lived up to it's name and the potatoes that came with the chicken were addicting. The only complaint we had was the chicken was slightly dry but everything was flavorful.

Alas, the server, Ben, was more obsequious than hospitable. He spilled a drink and didn’t bother to wipe it down, much less apologize. Even when called on it. When it came to describing the menu he blabbered on with all manner of culinary cliches: “flavor profiles” et al. Laughable.
All in all, however. a minor irritation in an otherwise sumptuous and delectable evening.

The Baldamar is a beautiful, classy restaurant specializing in a menu featuring different cuts of beef. It also serves seafood and a tasty array of starters and appetizers. My husband and I were invited by a friend to dine there and were disappointed in our meals. The salads were banal: leaf lettuce topped with balsamic and vinegar dressing. My husband said that my salads are much better. The Baldamar salad had a few carrot slices and no other veggies. My $24 burger was heavily salted and topped with gooey cheese that ran down my fingers as I ate. Our server described an $80 burger made from Japanese waygu beef. For $80 I would expect the burger to feed a family of four. The roasted brussel sprouts were very good. My friend ordered the wedge salad plus shrimp to share - most of which were left on her plate uneaten. My husband and I ordered coffee that was served tepid rather than piping hot. Service was very good, which is what you'd expect for a high-end restaurant. We could have done without the lengthy spiel about the quality of the Baldamar's meat and seafood offerings. We were ravenous and just wanted to order our meals. By the time we left, the place was packed so apparently the majority of diners love the Baldamar. My husband and I were underwhelmed by the food and overwhelmed by the prices.

Prime rib and fillet mignon were both not good. It's not the done-ness or the cut per day, but most likely the method of preparation. The steak tastes as of it was cooked in steam. We had an excellent experience at Baldamar. For celebratory dinners, we typically go downtown, but multiple friends mentioned that this steakhouse was even better than the big names in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. After dining here, I would agree.
The atmosphere and professional staff made for that “wow” factor you look for in a high end dining experience. We arrived 10 minutes early to our reservation and they couldn’t seat us right away. No big deal. We went outside to their nice, calm patio and chatted. Staff came out immediately to serve us waters. Within 5 minutes, one of the restaurant managers came out to apologize for the delay and bought us our first round of drinks, despite the fact that it still wasn’t our reservation time. This attention to their patrons really makes you feel special. From there, I knew we were in for a treat.
The old fashioneds are excellent. The filet and king crab legs literally melt in your mouth. The oysters were impeccably fresh and the dessert was decadent. Plus, we didn’t need to trek downtown. We will happily return!

This place blows the typical Minnesota steakhouses out of the water. If you want the downtown feel with better food and service this is the place to go. The atmosphere here is great, as are the drinks. We have only enjoyed apps here (in the bar area) & they are very good, especially the meatballs. Both times we've visited, though, children have been seated in the bar area & both times, we left earlier than we planned because of it. The food here is so good that the staff won’t even ask you “Is everything good so far?” They just scope out your plate, see that you’re enjoying it, and continue going about their shift…at least that’s my benefit of the doubt assumption.
I ordered the Miso * Sea Bass and I promise you that my taste buds were not prepared for such delectable flavors. My soul was touched. I paused in joy after my first bite.
The only thing that could have made my experience better was if the menu showed the macronutrients in the meal or at least the calories. I was expecting a heavier side with the fish, but I didn’t get that. My meal turned out to be keto since it had a negligible amount of carbs in the salad. The meal tasted excellent, but maybe add a label that says “keto” to avoid confusion. I could also just read the ingredients more thoroughly and ask more questions.
I ended up eating some of a friend’s mashed potatoes which went well with the sea bass, but also was a lot on my friend’s plate. Portioning seems like an issue, but if they can get that correct without surprises, this restaurant gets 5 stars hands down relative to my first experience.

Excellent food! The filet my friend had ordered was wonderful. The filet tasted so good that I regretted my choice of the lamb chops. The chops were good, but the steak was much better. My wife had the pork shank and she enjoyed it. Besides the filet, I also enjoyed the "bourbon bacon" appetizer which should be called bourbon pork belly appetizer, because that was not bacon, but awfully tasty.

Not bad but not out of this world. A few of their cocktails seem to be a rip off of some other popular restaurants and are not as well done which is lazy and disappointing. They didn't have the bacon and bourbon 2 times when we went so we've never tried that and the portions are rather small. My husband also felt his meat was dry. Outside of that things were not bad. The tuna poke was smashing and the Calimari was different but good. All and all its what you can expect from a suburban MN eatery.

Everything was amazing. We had lunch on a Sunday for our anniversary and everything was perfect. The food came out quick & everything was spot on. We entered with really high expectations and Ballarat met them all. KEVIN G was our server and he was great. Wings, Bread for Life, and lobster mac n cheese for apps were great. Sea bass and rib eye for main course. Brunch was ending before we ate and that looks like a must.

My family celebrated my little sister's birthday at Baldamar and we had an exquisite experience! The lighting in the restaurant, the art, and the interior design created an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food preparation process and even the equipment and tools used to prepare the cuisine (he wasn't aggressively trying to sell specific plates - which was important for us). Every dish that we tasted was very well seasoned and the food was prepared in an impressive amount of time. It felt as if something was being delivered to our table every five minutes and it felt as if we had our main courses within 30 minutes of arriving. If you're looking for a special dining experience that's elegant and high-quality but still warm and social, I would recommend Baldamar.

Everything about this place is amazing. The steak was top of the line and you have to try the jalapeño honey butter! It’s to die for. Our server Enrique gave us such an amazing experience. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and extremely personable! The manager Michael was also a great part of our dining experience. He had a genuine care for the guest. This was the most welcoming experience I’ve ever had while dining out. Coming from the service industry these guys are the best of the best!

This sister restaurant to 6Smith is dishing up some fantastic flavors in a beautiful venue. I've only been there twice but both selections (lobster roll and Blt sandwich) took a long time to eat because I had to stop and savor every bite. Amazing.

Tonight was my first night here and oh my goodness. My fiancé and I were not disappointed! We had Aaron as a server and just his vibe was amazing let alone. He was super knowledgeable with the menu, and made great suggestions. The ambiance of the restaurant was phenomenal!!!! The food was up there with Ruth Chris and by far better than any Fogo. I highly recommend trying this place if you ever come across it. The price was well worth it and also shocking to us, given how much we ate and drank. This will definitely be our new go to!

Sunday brunch buffet was a AMAZING! Open until 2pm. Our server Paul was wonderful and attentive. The buffet host Peter was fabulous as well. All of the food was rich and flavorful, perfectly cooked. Cheesy hashbrowns, ham and mashed potatoes, prime rib, smoked salmon, I tried it all! And they have real desserts at brunch. The carrot cake and cheesecake are both exceptional. I will definitely be back in the evening to try their steaks. Our wedding anniversary is next month, so we already have a reservation!

Had an excellent dining experience this past weekend. Our waiter Darrell was top notch. He kept drinks full and made excellent suggestions when we asked. I had a ribeye that was excellent and the table shared truffle fries, lobster mac and cheese for our sides. Both were our of this world delicious. The table also shared the creme brulee and at Darrell's suggestion the 50 shades of chocolate which was an excellent choice. Left full and happy, will return for sure!

Celebrated our anniversary tonight. The atmosphere was very sophisticated. The served us complimentary wine and dessert. We ordered the 12oz filet which was the best we've ever experienced. I hosted my sister's 35th birthday party in one of their private rooms in April. From start to finish Mel & Michael we're attentive, helpful, and ensured everything I needed or wanted was available. The food (my family comes here often) is always delicious and the atmosphere is great. I've always enjoyed having dinner at Baldamar, but the way my guest and I were treated during our private dinner was top tier. It left a very positive impression on me and my guest. How management alone handles things and the way we were treated by all staff, made me feel like a valued customer and I will always recommend them. For example, I brought a cake and specially made dessert shooters from an outside vendor. Well, I had to transport them and on the way they fell over and were pretty much ruined in my eyes. I was going to attempt to save them. Mel came in and instead of "offering" to help me, she "told" me lol she was going to help and have them fixed. They came back so beautiful and on a beautiful display. You would never know they were just ruined shortly before guest arrived. Mel did it out of kindness, I wasn't charged for their staff fixing something that was not sold or damaged by them. So again, thank you to all the staff and especially Mel & Michael for helping make my sister's birthday special.

Andrew N is a great server, and served us a great meal. At no time were we rushed. The environment is modern with a nice vibe. The bacon and bourbon appetizer should be offered as a half order, as it is a lot of food for two. The steaks were cooked well and tasted great. Overall I would rate this as the best restaurant in Roseville.

The service was excellent. The ambiance was charming, darkened (but not too much so) and generally quiet. We were there a bit earlier in the evening (4:30) though and by the time we left, the crowd and the noise was increasing.
I had the scallops, which were excellent and my companion had the salmon. Although the salmon was just slightly dry and overcooked, it's possible it was simply a timing issue from when it was plated and how long it may have been under a warmer. Nonetheless, it was still flavorful.
Overall, it was a very good experience. This was our first visit there and we will definitely visit again.

Our waitress Amanda was one of the kindest people I have met in a while! This can be said for BEFORE and after the electricity went out during our dining experience. That being said I can't really say if the food is good or not. Our waitress bought us a round of drinks for the incontinence. When it became apparent the electricity (as it was out in the mall as well) would not be coming back up the evening, then manager gave us a $50 gift card to come back at a later time. I can't wait to come back and give it a try.

Decided to try Baldamar based on recommendations. I ordered the Ribeye and it was very good, little on the salty side but to be expected. The scallops were excellent and would recommend them. Service was very good.
I could only give it a 4 star based on my steak, if this was a $30 steak it would get a 5 but I have had better Prime Ribeyes and for the price my expectations are high.
It was a great atmosphere and we had a great time with friends, look forward to coming back and trying another cut of steak.

We wanted to try their happy hour and so we went there tonight not realizing it was restaurant week. It was packed but we got a table in the bar area which is where you go for happy hour. We ordered stoner fries, lobster sliders, pork belly mac and cheese, and oyster rockefeller. Our server was Blake and he was very attentive even though it was so busy. Not sure how he did it but he kept our drinks full and the food came out fast. Ambiance and decor was rich and modern. I love that it gives you all the downtown feels without the parking fees. The food was amazing! We actually got a surprise at the end and I know we will have to be back for the steaks another time. Most of all, I’m glad we spent our anniversary here. We didn’t mention it because we didn’t want to make it a big deal (hence just coming for happy hour) but wow, they blew us away with their service and their food. We’ll be back and thanks Baldamar for being a part of our anniversary.

I have been to this restaurant twice already and can't wait to go back!! The food was incredible went with a group of 8 and everyone enjoyed the appetizers, meal and desserts.
We also went for brunch I hate to even write a review of how great it was because it's a hidden gem!!! The options were great salad, soup, eggs, meats, pasta, prime rib, desserts all for a very reasonable price of $24.95.
I hope they keep up with great food quality and service.

Dinner and drinks for two (caesar salad, signature burger and rib sandwich) were delicious...good wine list features bottles you won't find anywhere else in the area. Read good things about Baldamar but you kind of have to experience it for yourself...skepticism about a place setting up shop in Rosedale's parking lot is maybe warranted.
But fear not ! It's a unique and sophisticated spot...typically you need to go downtown to find this kind of ambience. Really nice buzz on a Thursday night; the place was packed. You have to pass through double height entrance doors on way in and it's a nice touch. The bar looks inviting and hope to sit there on a future visit.

Stellar service, ambience and food. Paul did a great job meeting every single need and was prompt and friendly. The corn dip & chips were yummy, short ribs were AMAZING, and filet was well executed. This is the most amazing place in this area outside of Milwaukee, WI; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX and of course Chicagoland, IL to find a wonderful dining experience with great food and service!!! Food was great, although a better selection of sides would be appreciated. I don't consider chimichuri a side, as it is actually a condiment, similar to how catsup is used.
