Reviews of Alma
CoryAnn K
The atmosphere and staff were really great at Alma. We had a wonderful prefixed meal and a few beverages. I thought everything we ate was tasty and delicious. They were so incredibly accommodating for my gluten free allergy. However, for the price, it was not the most outstanding coursed meal I have had. I'm really glad I tried this restaurant, but in truth, I don't think we will return.

Fantastic food for our prix fix menu. Everything was cooked perfectly and we appreciated how each item had new flavor themes. Our waiter, James, had excellent wine pairings for everything we ate. We came out with new wine favorites post meal. The price was a little hefty for the wine and food pairing but it was a delightful meal experience we will go back for.

Stopped the cafe here due to the positive reviews. It was a very good experience. Our drinks were delicious, the pastries were incredible, and the strata was amazing! I highly recommend Alma!
Also, they have a no tipping system and pay their workers fair wages. I love this!

I loved that they accommodate gluten free and dairy free but I definitely feel like if I’m paying the same price as someone with the full dining experience they could have made better substitutions. My least favorite were the gluten free crackers( at least homemade) that I had instead of their delicious looking bread, some mediocre winter squash, which was bland and would have tasted better with the breadcrumbs and the crispy shiitake mushroom, which was unseasoned and the pesto was not a good sauce for it. I think again, it was a second thought because it needed to be dairy free.
Overall, the food was good. I really enjoyed the chickpea blue prawn fritter and the artic char. I think because they didn’t really have to do any substitutions with either. The salad was awesome, bright and full of citrus flavor. And the parsnips and cauliflower were seasoned well.

Very nice atmosphere with great food. We have been for brunch. Great selection of bakery items and hot breakfast. Everything is delicious and has high quality ingredients. Fresh ricotta served with sourdough bread and tomato jam was amazing and must try.

Alex Roberts continues to hit home runs at both his restaurant Alma and Alma cafe.
A veteran GEM for a excellent culinary experience. We always have an amazing food and wine experience at Alma. This last visit on October 23 2022 was exceptional, from the menu, wine, maître d’, server and the culinary staff.
The seasonal selection of prix-fixe shared dishes were crazy good! From the antipasti (wow! The flan and little neck clams), the buckwheat crepes, the scallops and of course incredible, duck two ways!
Last thoughts! Early this year we took a stay-cation and booked a night at the Alma hotel. An awesome and romantic get a way boutique experience. We loved it!

Alma is one of my favorite cafes in Minneapolis, it is cozy and warm yet sophisticated and modern. Coffee and food are great (coconut macaroons pictured here), staff are super friendly, it’s the perfect place to read a book (or one of the New Yorker copies they have on hand) or grab coffee with a friend. It’s also just a few blocks from stone arch bridge, which is a must in the summer time!!
Shrey Pareek
Really really good food. Although getting reservations is a little difficult, so plan at least 3-4 weeks ahead. My wife is a vegetarian and we haven’t found good fine dining experiences for vegetarian food. Alma is an exception, they have a full vegetarian course-menu. Everything was delicious and really well presented.

I love this place! The food is incredible, I love the preset menu and the description for everything we are eating each course. There were dietary restrictions and there was so much effort put into updating the food in each course to accommodate those needs. I can't wait to go back!

I don't know why we were living under a rock. Oh that's right we have two kids and don't get much time to ourselves! We were welcomed with open arms here. Each course was thought out and extremely delicious. The vegan accommodations were exceptional. We cannot wait to come back!
Micah Beverley
Solid place to find innovative culinary creations in minneapolis for 10+ years. Love both the cafe and dinner offerings. Most recently stopped in for both. The seasonal dinner menu is impressive. Also loved the gazpacho in the cafe.
Maya Hanna
Took my sister here for her birthday. We had the Prix Fix menu, with wine pairings. One of us had the vegetarian menu. From Antipasto…to Desserts, every single plate was delicious, with pleasant texture combinations, several unique creations, and the wine pairing was lovely. The pair sorbet was out of the world!
We appreciated very much being in the quieter small room in back for a leisurely dinner. The service was friendly and accommodating. Easy parking, in the adjacent lot, or on the street in front.
Warda Shafi
Really glad that I stopped here for lunch. The ricotta with sourdough was my favorite, almost wanted to buy the pesto from them. The fried cauliflower and basil tomato soup, turmeric tea and mocha were delicious as well.Overall a great experience.
Amanda Taylor
Stellar experience! Excellent and attentive service and locally sourced menu. The attached pictures are the ones I remembered to take or could send off my husband to get because it was so good, every second we waited was painful! The prix fixe menu is an excellent price for the quality and quantity of the food, and we love the added fee in place of tipping that provides better wages and benefits to the employees. Our favorites tonight (not pictured because we couldn't resist diving in and devouring) were the bison carpaccio on a puffed rice crackers with a horseradish aioli and sea bass with crispy pepper skin in a lemongrass coconut broth. I could have bathed in a vat of that broth and then happily drank it. That's how good it was!
Pictured are the heirloom tomato salad (refreshing, lovely textures), blue prawn fritter (spicy and flavorful), red quail (literally picked this up in my hands to suck all the meat off), and coffee semifreddo dessert with this scrumptious sesame twill.

There are quite a few tables, but naturally it's busy at lunch time. You can order from your table, so head straight there to ensure a seat. Recommend the ragu. The tea is very good as well. Haven't tried the coffee so can't comment on that yet.

The service and atmosphere are nice and friendly. I heard a lot about Alma and it took time to get a reservation, but we were not impressed. The food was good, the drinks were nice, and we loved olives and bread, BUT that experience was not worth more than 500 for 4 people. Maybe we will come to grab some nice stuff and coffee from the cafe, but not to the restaurant.
Kozy
I would recommend going in as early as possible if you're looking for a quiet atmosphere with fun staff. It started too busy and loud for me after a bit. Pricing was a bit high, but it makes sense as it includes tip. Overall, great experience and would probably go again.
Cami Krech
This may be my new favorite restaurant! The staff was all kind, but our waitress seemed bored (i am too at my job, i get it). The incentive flavors of this tasting menu was out of this world. The longneck clam in celery root flan was to die for, as well as the duck two ways. I highly recommend this 11 plate for $95 pre-fixe meal for the taste, atmosphere, and all around enjoyable date night. We will definitely be back.

I recently moved into the area and I am so grateful Cafe Hotel is near by.
This is my regular spot for good coffee and delicious breakfast/brunch.
Friendly & Professional staff!
I Highly recommend the Baked Egg Strata, absolutely delicious!!
Thank you!!

Came for Saturday brunch. Definitely a casual feel for brunch. You can pick your own seat and order through a QR code at the table otherwise you can order at the counter as well. Plenty of drink options and breakfast foods. I got the Sunshine Helps breakfast sandwich with a side of crispy smashed potatoes with aioli. The potatoes are amazing and the side of aioli is a must. Also got the Coconut Cold Press which was very smooth and not too coconuty. You bus your own table so definitely a more laid back brunch but delicious none the less. And you pay on your phone so everything is done on your own time and they bring the food out to you. Want to come back and try happy hour and dinner here!
Prerna
They are serving prix fix menu and they also have vegetarian option. Amazing food and presentation.
Josephine Hartman
Fabulous vegetarian and vegan options! My friend and I shared the vegetarian prix fixe menu. The chef was more than accommodating with my vegan preference and allergies. Our server was patient and helpful with vegan wine selections. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the courses and flavors and have often explored prix fixe menus. This was by far, the most fulfilling and creative that we have had the pleasure to enjoy! We look forward to our next visit.

We went to Alma for their prix fixe vegetarian menu.
Short review : It’s a good place and I would have really liked to rate it 5 stars but several small things added up to make our experience less than exceptional. It’s likely that it was a one-off day or may be not. But, I can only review it based on our experience. Read on for a more detailed review.
We had a reservation at 7:30 pm and went in a couple of minutes early. We were seated pretty quickly.
Almost immediately we were served marinated olives and roasted almonds. We also ordered a cocktail.
Then came the antipasti; they served us garlic flan, sourdough and butter , roasted beets and Gouda with poached apricots. All of them tasted really good. No complaints with any of the dish. They got us the salmon instead of roasted beets at first and we had to point out to them that we were doing the vegetarian menu and they went back to get the right one.
And then, we waited for 50 minutes for our salad to appear. After about 40 minutes of waiting our server came and apologized to us for the delay. She said the kitchen was very chaotic. I’m not sure what that meant. Anyway, 10 minutes after that we got our salad. We were chatting with the chef who brought out the salad and mentioned to her that we really liked the marinade for the olives that were served as snacks. She was very kind to give us some to take home with us. Thank you for the kind gesture !
The entrée took another 30 mins to come. It was 9:30 by the time our entrees came out. Remember we came in at 7:30 and two hours later our entrees had just arrived. By this time we were kind of pretty tired of just waiting. The food was pretty good. The green beans, corn-cream pasta and the chick-pea all tasted good. The portion sizes were very disproportionate. The pasta and green beans was a very small portion and the chickpea was a huge portion. I wished we could have had more of the pasta as it tasted really delicious.
The dessert was a lime curd + coconut cream. Our server put a candle on my fiancé’s dessert as we were celebrating his birthday. Thank you ! In terms of taste, however, the dessert was a big disappointment. The lime curd had an excessively eggy taste that made it taste very weird.
Another observation: my fiancé pointed out that the cutlery was very very plain and the plating wasn’t great either. When you pay so much for a prix fixe menu, you’d expect some more thought to go into plating and the plates itself to have some theme, color etc. I think that’s a fair point he made.
Overall, we definitely liked the food. The olives and the pasta stood out for us. But, we’ve definitely been to better places.
Naïcha Dorville
Amazing dining experience. Everything was fabulous - the food, cocktails, service and atmosphere. The fixed price menu provides lots of delicious small dishes and all were excellent. Standouts were the sweet corn soup, pork belly appetizer and the scallop main - the sauce was divine. Our server Faith was attentive without rushing us. We recommend trying to snag the table for 2 in the corner by the bar, if possible. Definitely the best seat in the house.

We’ve been to Alma multiple times over the past decade and the meal and service never disappoints! We love the diversity of the menu and the current pre fix menu is a must enjoy. The restaurant that some say started the fine dining scene in Minneapolis. The wait staff is well educated in the menu and all drink options. The menu never fails to delight and satisfy! A must try!
Mat Spackman
Alma is a very unique and amazing place. The menu changes every few weeks I believe they said and everything is scratch made. The levels of flavor in each dish are truly artistic in quality. Even the playing game and presentation is well thought out. The service is also top notch!!! I will HIGHLY recommend Alma for any special occasion.
Kimberly Gartland
Eat here. DELICIOUS! Friendly, lovely menu selection. This place has it all. The quality of food was wonderful. Soooooo delicious. We had the fried cauliflower which was surprisingly light and amazingly delicious. Also their saffron rice with chickpeas was outstanding. Then there was the brownie which was superb. You get the idea. you can’t go wrong with Alma. FAB! Eat here. You won’t regret it. And yes, food allergies (gluten free and dairy free) are accommodated.
Michael Krech
Very calm atmosphere and very unique tasty food. We will be going back.

Beautiful, relaxing place. Very good coffees and pastries. The matcha is not as good as expected.
Lauren Brooks
The egg sandwich and cinnamon roll were delicious! I really enjoyed the atmosphere that the cafe has created. I went when it was really busy so I did end waiting over 20 minutes which was worth it but I would either plan better or order ahead time with to go to avoid the wait next time!
Carey Goedel
Wonderful little place with bakery items, breakfast options, sandwiches, salads, soup and excellent selection of teas, coffees and even adult beverages. Plus service is wonderful and they are sustainable (love that)!
Rob S
Came here a few years ago and it was nice but lacked the polish and service I expected. Didn’t try it again for years but just went back and had one of the best meals and experiences there of any restaurant. Props to Katie G for fantastic service and the coursed meal didn’t have a single downturn. Whole experience was fantastic.
Paul H
MN2022: A decent breakfast spot. Portions could have been a little larger.
Heather K
We will try this spot again, but for the most part it wasn't great. Came for lunch. The turkey burger is what we're coming back for- phenomenal. Soup of the day was real weird tasting. Beet salad, I didn't even know this was possible, had too much flavor and had an odd taste we couldn't place (lavender maybe). Egg sandwich was horribly dry. No lemons for iced tea, and no refills. Same old QR code at the table or order at the counter, they ask you to bus your own table. For the price point- it was a miss for me.
Dean Gabhart
Enjoyed reasonably priced tasty breakfast sandwich and strata. Great service. They do not accept tips, but our final bill included a 21% employee wellness fee. Also have luxury personal care products available.

We hosted a shower here recently and it was perfect! The communication from Gaberelia was excellent. The location and set up perfect. The food and service delicious! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Will definitely host again here !
Tina
We ate at the café for lunch. The cauliflower was amazing as usual as were the crispy smashed potatoes. And, as much as I dislike paying for bread, their bread and butter is worth it. The menu is definitely smaller than it was pre pandemic but the food quality remains excellent.
Peter Ripple
A confusing experience. The sommelier or wine buyer did an incredible job creating the wine menu. Absolutely amazing pairings.
The prix fixe menu though.... We both had the vegetarian prix fixe and felt most dishes were a bit lacking and uninspired. The antipasti course highlight was a bit of cheese paired with honey. The rest of the dishes could have all used something to elevate the flavor. The bread with butter could have used a flaky salt. The fingerling potatoes felt a bit pretentious in their small format and only had the desired flavor profile with one small bite. And the tempura felt like a food truck bite (not to rip into food trucks, I used to own one!).
The first course was a salad and a bread topped with shitaakes and white bean paste. Again, the salad needed a bit more to it. A finish of cracked pepper to add some interest? And the bread had some satisfying umami, but was missing that cravabilty.
The main dishes were truffled cauliflower, farro stuffed squash, and braised carrots. The braised carrots were actually quite pleasant, with a nice char and delightful pistou. The squash felt confused, with heavy cilantro and sweetness which didn't agree with each other. The truffled cauliflower could have been sliced in bite sized portions and served hot. Being large and room temperature felt like it prohibited the dish from unlocking it's full flavors.
I'm being pretty critical here, but it's because this is a premium dining experience. For the price, there are a large handful of twin cities restaurants I would recommend instead.

Incredible 🤩 it was so cozy and romantic with incredible wait staff and delicious food. I was particularly impressed with how effortlessly they adapted the dishes for different food restrictions. An amazing experience! …

This is our favorite restaurant hands down. The menu changes monthly so you can go often and be assured of trying something new. Splurge and get the wine pairing!
Ian Allen
Whether you are visiting the Cafe or the Restaurant, you are guaranteed an exceptional time. I’ve come to the cafe a few times for work and have always enjoyed the friendly service. I recently stopped by for a happy hour with a friend and was impressed by the the offerings—1/2 off wine, beer, cocktails, and apps. We shared the smoked fish platter, antipasti platter, and the ricotta appetizer and all three were well prepared and delicious. At half off it was a great deal as well! I realized it’s been 3 years since my last visit to the restaurant, but I still remember it as a very special evening—I’m hoping to get back soon! There’s a reason Alma has been around for a long time and they’re always busy—this is a star location in the Minneapolis restaurant scene. If you go for dinner you’re guaranteed a culinary adventure, but in my mind you also can’t beat a great happy hour followed by a walk along the river. Highly, highly recommend!

We usually eat at Alma restaurant and this evening we tried the cafe side for dinner. It's much more casual than the restaurant and the menu is not a prefixed price. Our appetizers were wonderful and they were able to get us the caviar from the Alma restaurant as well. Originally when I had asked about ordering the caviar the host told me that they preferred not to have customers order from the restaurant menu if they were eating at the cafe side. When I asked him if "preferred" meant possibly or was it a definite no he kept repeating himself saying preferably not over and over which really started to frustrate me until finally he said no. So when we were able to get order it from our server that was a very nice surprise. Our main dishes were mainly great, but my son's fusilli dish was very bland. My son loved Cafe Alma but as for me I'll be sticking to Alma Restaurant. I think the food quality, food presentation, and the ambiance are all better on the restaurant side instead of the cafe side. Also- if you think they are going to comp a birthday dessert like most places do think again. They don't do that which was another reason I didn't give it 5 stars (we ordered 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, and 1 soda ...all for around $130 not including tip). The 2 apple crisps and my son's fusilli are not pictured.
Juliette Smith
This is a really delightful restaurant. I ate on the café side. The duck confit was delicious, appetizers were delightful, and the atmosphere is also terrific. The menu is limited but completely appropriate to the setting. This is my favorite restaurant to go to in Minneapolis. Lunch at Alma was very good. The biscuit and scrambled egg sandwich was tasty. It is counter service only paired with table delivery of your entree. Coffee was great.
Craig Larson
Love the Café approach to self service. Combine that with exquisite food and you will have a perfect afternoon. Carrot Mimosa was surprisingly excellent! Drinking chips are my new addiction...or wait, the smoked whitefish...
Bradnon Sood
Alma has been a place we’ve gone to for a special date or occasion for a long time. The food is always great, the service is always spectacular. It’s expensive and it’s not an every Friday night kinda date but it’s a great restaurant experience. I can’t wait to go back.
Robert Hines
The food here is amazing, but be prepared to spend some money. There is not much for parking that is available, it's all street parking - although valet is available to those who want it. The menu has choices for each of your 3 courses. So you can mix and match to suit your own likes. All of the food (and cocktails for that matter) are either somewhat exotic or have an exotic twist to them. This is no place to dine safely. Here you must dine outside your comfort zone, be adventurous! You won't be disappointed everything is delicious. You have the opportunity to add a wine pairing to each course. If you can afford it, I recommend it! The wines are all excellent and pair well with the food. Due to the cost, I will not be going back for a while, but for a special night out you can't do much better. Recommended.
Sheryce Cook
This was a top notch culinary and service experience! From our waitress to the many hands that provided service to our table, the service was friendly, efficient and patron-centered. We felt cared-for the entire night. And the food? Creative, unbelievably thoughtful and balanced, an OMG with every bite, and stunningly beautiful! Thank you, chefs! The wine pairings were masterful- the kind of pairings that keep you taking a bite and then a sip and then a bite....and then so sad when both the food and the wine are gone (but so grateful for the experience!) This was an unforgettable evening that, for us, ranks up there with the best.
Joe Allen
Almost an excellent experience at Alma. Service and food top notch. BUT, disappointed in the "locavore" bar program. Only two local distilleries to select from. Well, that leaves a lot of high quality spirits off the table, and I've had some really bad locally distilled rum, gin, etc. They feature wines from around the world - why not spirits? I can tell you the white negroni I had was way down from a standard Negroni using Campari.
A cost cutting measure under the guise of the "locavore movement"? It's gone too far. Really surprising for a restaurant of this caliber; most establishments today feature top notch bar programs. Not this one, and makes it questionable to return to.
Rachel Herr
From start to finish, we could not have had a better experience at Cafe Alma! Every bite was perfectly prepared and offered in an atmosphere that felt both classy and welcoming. Our server was excellent and we will definitely be back!
Elena Fernández
This is the best restaurant I have visited since my arrival to Minneapolis 2 months ago. I love eating out and have tried tops in the area but Alma is by far the best. Service could not be better, food is super delicious, so perfectly balanced in flavors and so exquisite presented...
Kristina Linden
This lovely spot is in the middle of a neighborhood. It's very unassuming but absolutely worth the trip! Cocktails were expertly crafted and unique! The server was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely take part in the three course option vs a la cart. It's extremely reasonable and an absolute delight! I would go back to Minneapolis JUST to eat at Alma!
Tony Ghilani
Great service! The dining experience was everything as advertised. We chose the wine pairing option with dinner and they were perfect! We had one dish that didn’t live up to expectations and the server and manager took it off our bill before coming to discuss it with us. We would have never mentioned it if they weren’t insistent in knowing what our tru opinion was. They handled it with class and how any true restauranteur would. Atmosphere is comfortable but upscale. I will be back for sure!
Scott James
Oh wow. Wow wow wow... thank you so much JAMES. You match and compliment the food to perfection. One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my entire life. Honestly, the food and evening was spectacular but James really tied everything together. Cheers and can’t wait to see you again, thank you James.
Bicky Nguyen
One of the BEST places I've been to in Minneapolis! Their menu is prixe fix. They have a Gluten-free, Dairy-free & Vegan menu as well.
Unique alcohol infusions & deliciously inventive dishes, a rustic yet modern decor & awesome staff.
A wonderful culinary adventure & a must try!!!
Kevin Barcus
Alma is unarguably one of the premier dining destinations in the Twin Cities. They consistently execute top level cuisine with creativity and impeccable service. You really can't ask for more.
Kelly Kohler
What a wonderful experience! Came here for a birthday dinner with my boyfriend and got to try so many delicious drinks and foods that I've never tried before! This restaurant is more of a destination than a place to simply get dinner. The service is spectacular, the restaurant is beautiful, and the drinks are tasty and unique. The food was also to die for and the only complaint I had was that I wish there was MORE food to eat! I can't wait to come back!
Otoki Sicily
Food and cocktails were great. Highly recommend the tomato soup, fried cauliflower, and "Gin and Tonic" cocktail (not a plain G&T).
Took a while to be helped after being seated and service in general was slower, so that's the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. Service was friendly.
Suzanne Durkacs
The scale for Alma should go up to 11! My husband and I had a great dinner at Alma's to celebrate our 24-1/2 years wedding anniversary. We ordered the 3 course tasting menu. We followed our server's advice and got a flight of wine to match our orders instead of a bottle of wine. It was amazing! We both had the gently cooked trout entree with a very tasty red wine--so tasty. The warm lentils and cauliflower was savory and firm and so delicious. I had a taste of my husband's layered rice and curried octopus. Our son had the beef entree and lived it. The orange sponge dessert was light and just sweet enough. The decaf coffee was a good way to end the meal. I much prefer soda water to tap, and was very pleased it my glass was never empty. Great service! Great food! There's a parking lot next to the building, but you can't park in it. The offer valet parking for $8. 4-hour Metered parking is 2 blocks away on Main Street.
Patrick Kelly
I've never had a less than perfect experience at Alma. Everybody takes really good care to make sure everything is just right. The Grilled Linkert Rye Bread is super fresh tasting.
The cafe has the best steak and eggs for brunch.
ghost devildom
Two courses with my friends for the birthday. My friend chose Fried Brussels Sprouts, Buckwheat Crêpe, and Pan Roasted Sturgeon. I chose Parmesan Flan, Swiss Chard Rotolo, and Sautéed Sea Scallops. Love the scallops! I also got Indonesian Vanilla Cheesecake Mousse with a little candle on it.
Caitlyn Roe
Amazing staff and atmosphere but pre fixe food was subpar and overpriced. Cocktails and wine selection were great!
William Tomczyk
I gave atmosphere a 4 because we were seated in a back room, I would have preferred the front room to watch the kitchen. The back room felt lonely. The food was amazing!!!!!
Alise Noel
Great prices for unique menu items. Their cocktail program is cheeky and high quality. For a great appetizer try the housemate ricotta (pictured with herbs) also featured on the cheese plate, which is what I got. The sauteed greens with ponzu was very good as well.
David Hale Smith
One of the best meals I’ve had in the US. Chef Alex’s menu reflects the local bounty. The marinated grilled quail appetizer is excellent, and special duck breast confit and peppercorn roasted sturgeon entrees are well worth traveling to the frozen north.
Logan Delmonico
This place busts immaculately. The cafe food is reasonably priced and the vegetarian dishes are delicious.
Ally Thompson
I just discovered this cafe in my neighborhood! I love it so much, it is cozy and the staff is so nice. It’s a great place to study and it’s a plus the offer almost everything gluten free as well! highly recommend for celiac people and college students
Logan Paquin
Great restaurant with a cool atmosphere and excellent cuisine. The experience is further improved when we are able to get our usual server, Jeff (my parents, Jim and Tiernee, are regulars here). None of us have ever had a bad meal, with a favorite being the steak and eggs.
With the delicious breakfast menu it's hard to ever stray from it. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great meal with high quality ingredients, and ask for Jeff as your server if possible!
tribebass
Outstanding meal with wine pairing. A set dinner with several exquisite small dishes from starters to mains with a single dessert. Server was knowledgeable and friendly. Outstanding price as well but you know that if you're coming here. Best fancy dinner I've had in the Twin Cities.
Alyssa Zuck
My husband and I did a quick getaway to Minneapolis and had dinner here the first night. It exceeded my expectations! The first "course" came out in small servings. The mushroom flan had me licking the bowl and the Amberjack crudo was spectacular. We had a goat cheese salad next and my mouth is literally watering while I'm writing this. The spinach tart was so crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It made no sense to me how they could perfect it. The duck cooked two ways was 8 out of 10, but I think that's just because I don't love duck. The trout was 10/10 with the butter sauce. I could have just drank that. But, the star was the Buckwheat Chiffon Cake. It was so light and almost airy. I didn't think the chefs could do everything perfect, but they really did. It was the best meal I've probably ever had. It's pricey, yes, but it's more of an experience than just a dinner. They time the servings perfectly and everything works so well together. I would highly suggest coming here for a date night!

Alma has been one of our favorite spots for many years, since before the remodel. We stopped for lunch at the cafe before Art a Whirl and had a great meal. The beet and haloumi sandwich-as-a-salad was delicious and highly recommended. Toast wasn't working so we couldn't pay our tab at the table, and stood for several minutes at the bar, twice, before someone would pay attention to us and help us pay at the register instead. Aside from that service glitch, it was a lovely visit as always.
Del O'Loughlin
I took my wife here for her birthday. We had the three course dinner and my wife had the wine pairing.
Before we started our actual meal, we got an appetizer of shiso peppers that were awesome. We really loved the aioli and the potato chips that were part of it. Highly recommend if they are on the menu. The Oh My Lucky Stars cocktail was quite interesting; almost like a bowl of pho made into a cocktail.
Our first course was beef tartare and chilled corn soup with smoked salmon; both were great, but the corn soup was really amazing.
Our second course was a soft egg with mushrooms and squid ink spaghetti, both were very tasty, but I preferred the pasta dish as I really liked the tarragon in it.
Our entrees were scallops and duck two ways. The scallops were fantastic. The duck was great, but very rich; I wish I had wine with it. The wine pairing with my wife's meal was spot on.
Service was fantastic! Kylie was a great server and very friendly and helpful in making our selections for the night.
We will go back again.

Omg I can not exclaim enough about the quality of ingredients and exceptional execution of the dishes. I found it to be reasonable when it came to pricing, 3 courses for $62, wonderful.
Philip Gissen
Alma is an excellent restaurant, and my meals here have been memorable. However, the price of dinner makes Alma prohibitive in the future. I returned from Paris ten days ago. I dined at superb one and two star Michelin restaurants. Alma was more expensive than any of them. That's ridiculous for the three course meal we ate at Alma. The kitchen is good, but compared to a great restaurant in Paris, no way. I felt
somewhat fleeced, and tried to talk my family out of dinner at Alma. I sent them the menu, questioned the set dinner at $62.00 a head, and mentioned how impacted I was. No one took the bait. Cognitive inference is evaporating in this digital age. I prefer to be a tad subtle.
While the meal was good, service casual but knowledgeable, the price for four came to $479.00 with two cocktails, and 5 glasses of wine. That's about $125.00 per person. The cost of a set menu, at a starred restaurant in untouristy Paris, averages around $90.00 per person. You do the math. Alma is close to the most expensive restaurant in Minneapolis.
It wasn't always that pricey. It kind of ruined it for me. Minneapolis has become a bit of a spoiled brat. I noticed the flippancy in service all over town. Inflated egos often come back down to earth. It is cyclical in the restaurant business. I will give it time.

My wife and I had a great time here! We almost always go to steakhouses (Murray's or Manny's), but wanted to try something new this time around. The food is exquisite! Never had food and flavors like that before. It is definitely a great place for a special occasion.
Darren Wacker
This is a very enjoyable dining experience. Small cafe in an interesting neighborhood. I had the lamb burger and it was very good along with the small side salad. The coffee was also excellent.
Theodore Howell
One of the best places for wholesome meals at a surprisingly cheap rate for what you get.
Do not forget to try their soups... Chefs here know what they are doing. Simply the best spot in Minneapolis for me anymore.

Had lunch with a friend at Alma Cafe. I hadn't been there for a while, but the last time I was there the food was excellent. Unfortunately today's lunch was not the same quality as it had been a few years before. I ordered a salad with turkey and salami with bits of peppers and lettuce. Nothing fantastic about it and for $17 it was not worth the price tag. We also ordered the cauliflower which was soggy with lots of different flavors put together that seemed to be competing with each other, potatoes that were nice and crisp but rather bland, and an egg strata that was probably the best thing we ordered other than the diet cokes. All in all I was disappointed that I recommended this place to my friend since they'd never been there before. Hopefully Alma restaurant hasn't gone down hill either like the cafe since the restaurant used to be one of my go to favorites.
Matt Hardy
Best dinner out in years. Exquisite flavors and unique ingredients leave you stunned with each subsequent course. $62 well spent.
Khushboo
Good place. Good for brunches. Alma has a cafe and a restaurant. The restaurant I believe is only open for dinner and is more formal while cafe is more relaxed and casual. Has a nice bar area as well.
Kevin Manbeck
Alma means soul, and this restaurant truly feeds the soul! Every dish was creative and delicious. The wine pairings were spot on. A real treat.
HOLLY WOODWARD
Superb foodie dining experience. It’s fine dining for sure. Love trying all the courses. Such a cool vibe. Worth every cent.
Alexis C.
I get coffee here. It’s excellent, however I wish their mobile orders actually were useful. You still have to wait for your order even when you use them.
Lisa Stewart
First time here since the renovation. Awesome space. Gorgeous and well put together.
We happened to go here on the one day in Minneapolis the heat index hit 110 degrees. Their air conditioning went out minutes before we arrived, and we were on the upper level. We moved down to the lower level bar and enjoyed a cocktail (on the house) as well as complimentary mixer. While they couldn’t control the situation of the air being out any more than working on it, their service was through the roof!!! We ended up not staying for dinner as the temps were quite warm, so can’t comment on the food.
Note that the restaurant side is a prix fixe menu only.
5 Stars all day every day. Can’t comment on parking since we took an Uber.
Jen Galles
Very busy, last minute and no openings but opened the patio for us. Fabulous cocktails and excellent service. Can’t wait to plan ahead for dinner. Thank you.
Lydia G
Truly the best meal of my life! Beautiful, locally sourced seasonal menu. Incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Can't wait to return!
lizy ryan
This place is wonderful. I don’t live in Minneapolis but I plan on coming back here whenever I am in town. We got the French toast, and two orders of the farm breakfast, but one with a salad and a petit steak. Wonderful staff. Great coffee and juice. Thank you!
Benjamin
This place is simply the best. Brunch/breakfast all day, awesome vegetarian options, and delicious drinks and soups.
Leon S. Dixon Jr.
Extremely comfortable atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me. This was my first visit but it won’t be my last.
Charlie Tsai
Friendly staffs. Delicious, flavorful foods. Coffee was just okay, though. Overall very nice, would like to come again!
Kuang-Sheng Cheng
If you want to have the most exquisite dining experience and a good place to show your generosity and philanthropy, don't miss this Restaurant. The portion of the meal is meticulously small, and the taste is thoughtfully salty to help you drink more water to fill up your hungry stomach. And the extremely long waiting time demonstrates their sincerity in serving you the foods that are painstakingly prepared to win your appreciation when the petite food finally shows up on your table. Last but not the least, a 3% donation to the health insurance of their employees ensures that your food will always be prepared by the most healthy and sanitized kitchen professionals. What a great restaurant and truly a 5 star place it is!
Caitlin Mallon
Restaurant Alma is the best! The hotel is beautiful, the food is amazing, the wine and cocktails are great and we always feel pampered here. Request the lovely corner booth and ask for James as your server.
Megan Flynn
What an incredible experience all around. James was so knowledgeable about the food and wine- we will continue to request him for future visits. Delicious and creative menu with spectacular vegan modifications. I highly highly recommend the wine pairing- off the beaten path wines thoughtfully and well paired.
Mike Kruempel
Wish they had some arrangements for picking up food. Drove around for several minutes looking for a place to park. Food was great.
Maddy Newman
Fabulous vegetarian and vegan options! My husband and I shared the vegetarian prix fixe menu. The chef was more than accommodating with my vegan preference and allergies. Our server was patient and helpful with vegan wine selections. I do wish we could have opted for an earlier time (before the 7:30 time slot) as we felt like a burden toward the end of our stay. The benefit was that we didn’t feel rushed, just a tad neglected, as industry personnel we felt like we were not completely welcome to stay as the kitchen, bar, and service staff were focused on cleaning up for the evening opposed to clearing plates, serving our dessert course, and preparing the bill. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the courses and flavors and have often explored prix fixe menus. This was by far, the most fulfilling and creative that we have had the pleasure to enjoy! We look forward to our next visit.
Sal
Went for restaurant week. 3 course meal was amazing and had excellent service. Can't rate this place any higher. Only a handful of places in Minneapolis come even close to the level of service here.
Ashley Olson
Cozy, lovely. A favorite and a gold standard of Minneapolis. We had the tasting menu (which they change about every 3-5weeks). Some of the best wine I've tasted -- the food was fantastic but we all agreed the wine was the star. There is also a grab-and-go area with soups and salads, sauces, salts, pretty gifts like soap and perfume. They offer brunch drinks and lunch at the cafe location as well.
Emily Ahern
5 stars isn’t enough. We got exactly what we paid for and it was the best meal of our lives. We did the wine pairings and they were excellent. The staff was attentive without being distracting. The food (which is on a rotation) was cooked to perfection with excellent flavor and texture. Everything we had was creative and unexpectedly wonderful. Can’t wait to come back.
Kallen Loos
A local favorite for dinner or a cafe stop. The service is always friendly and the food is delicious, great portions and value.
Alexander Kollman
Used to be our favorite spot. My wife and I would get the brunch special (now discontinued? Couldnt find it on the QR code menu) with baked strata, side salad and smoothie. We both ordered the strata again this weekend and it does not compare to our previous experiences. It's been a while for us since we've eaten there, but what I felt to be a reduction in quality might keep me from eating there for a while again.
Justin Garabedian
Our expectations were high and unfortunately not met from our dinning experience. For the price point, the meal with pairings should have been outstanding and memorable, it was neither. Service was lacking and seemed uninterested.
Kara Kearney
The vegetarian menu can easily be adapted to vegan, and the staff is 100% knowledge about what vegan is. The vegan meal was by far the most flavorful and most effort I've ever seen put into vegan restaurant food. It is definitely worth the price!!
Charles Nguyen
Lunch was fine. Staffing shortages make the hours harder to follow. It is much more self-service now with an online menu and limited options. Good outdoor seating options. There are about eight or so tables outside. The food was good, but the quality seems to have dropped. The sandwich was rather dry but the salad was nice. I didn't realize that if you order the salad, it removes the chips from the sandwich. Not in addition to.
Shadi Abughazaleh
A terrific food journey. Every bite was a delight and every ingredient had a purpose. The service was just right as well. Had the hamachi crudo, Octopus and the Arctic char.... the mix of flavors from East to West and everything in-between was awsome. And then there was desert.
Hannah McFarland
Food is delicious. Service is acceptable and helpful. Coffee is good, not my favorite as it's a bit bitter for my taste, but good. This a spot I go for the atmosphere. Can't beat it.
Laurie Prince
Tasty, gourmet food. The French Toast is fantastic! Seating and reservations are very confusing, though. Four stars because of that.
Jemma Hanson
Alma's has great food, teas, drinks and atmosphere. I was very impressed and would highly recommend you trying one of there desserts. It's a bit expensive but its worth the trip.
Ben MacKinney
Great ambience. They did a major overhaul on the space since Dunn Bros was there. The small plates and cocktails look delicious although I only had a cappuccino which was good. The tables are all set so it is clearly geared more towards sit down lunch and dinner then a cafe. WiFi was good 20.8mbps down and 16.9 up. Looking forward to trying the menu.
Courtney Backen
Alma is one of my favorite restaurants in town. Every time I’ve eaten there, the food is delicious and unique, and the atmosphere is great. I even ordered takeout during the pandemic and the food was still amazing after transporting and reheating it! Plus, the staff are super kind—they threw in an extra treat for my partner since I was picking the meal up for his birthday.
Shiva Elayedath
Great ambience and excellent service. The food was good, not knock your socks off great.
Beth Fahnlander
Such a great dining experience. The menu is a bit overwhelming to non-foodies, but the staff is knowledgeable and excited to help you pick something you'll love. Everything tastes good... So go ahead and order the wrong thing! We love to go with four and just order one of each and share everything. Be prepared for a check though... The cheeses, wines, and desserts are the best part.
Nadia Janis
Good food! Amazing staff! Nice atmosphere!
(The straws don’t work)
Update: they got new straws that are much better👍 …
Eliot Fendig
Great little café. Food is simple but excellent, and lots of beverage options (not just coffee).
Jim McClarty
Service was great. Some of the dishes were great. Others were good. I liked the atmosphere.
Danny Schoen
The food was amazing. The presentation was great and the venue is a comfortable and close setting. Great for get together with friends in a classic building. The prices are above average but to be expected with some of the offerings.
Eric Michel
Hot drinks were luke warm, many items gone by noon, had heard so much positive…must have been having a bad day. Won’t be going back.
Blair DiScala
Such Wonderful food everytime we go! Both the cafe and restaurant are excellent. Our favorite food in the Twin cities!
Nick Klebs
Always a pleasure to dine here. Both the cafe and restaurant always exceed expectations on service and food. I recommend the vegetables, the meat, the wild game, the fish, the seafood, the bread, the dessert, the cheese plate, and anything else that doesn't fit those discriptions. Dinner at the restaurant is pre fixe with a start, middle, and end. An optional wine pairing is available. The cafe has counter service for coffee and treats. The cafe also has a bar and table service that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reservations recommended for dinner at the restaurant, and available for dinner at the cafe.
zach pothen
If you want great food paired with an unforgettable experience this is the place. The tasting menu was catered very well and had lots of options that my fiancée and I would never pick but we pleasantly surprised to discover we loved. Our server Faith was amazing and you can tell they have a passionate team working in the kitchen. We also felt very safe with their Covid protocol. Props to everyone behind this amazing restaurant, I’m coming back very soon to try out their cafe which I’m sure is equally as amazing!
Mariana Ferguson
Food was good. I was thinking was gonna be better for the price. The potatoes were way crispier that was impossible to eat. The beets on the sandwich were from canned not even fresh and the floor which was nicely done need more attention to cleaning.
Justin Jackson
It's been said " Alma has the best gluten-free brownie "! I agree 100%. Yet that's only a scratch on the surface, the almond, banana, pumpkin, coconut muffins are killer! Get there early for coffee and a treat. Hands down great
Kent Sklarow
somewhat surprised that I hadn't gotten around to reviewing this yet given how many times I've visited. Went last night for dinner again after a long pandemic absence and it was every bit as good (the new prix fix menu format where you get to try everything is fantastic).
Don't pass it up.
Baylee Miller
Very neat space in a very cool part of the city. The lattes are great and they have several baked goods options, including a GF brownie that tasted great. Nice place to sit down and have a casual conversation.
Paul Friedrichsen
Sit back and leave all the decisions to the professionals. They have a phenomenally curated seasonal menu. Every dish is delicious, and I challenge you to pick a favorite! Also, do yourself a favorite and get the wine pairing which matches perfectly with each course! I honestly cannot find any fault with Alma's dinner service.
JJ Jackson
Unbelievable gluten-free bakery item's! We a GF household so when I find a gem I share (only a little). I was told the brownies were really good, so I tried them and the pumpkin item, but the little lemon/shaved almond cake is OUT OF THIS WORLD FANTASTIC! Listen up when I say it's so good that you'll saver each bite, I mean it! Bravo. So good....
Evan Leslie
The café and restaurant are both great! The Cafe has really nice scones and the restaurant had a very good (and filling) fixed menu when I visited with my partner!
Lauren Aust
Brunch is fabulous! I would recommend the grits and the classic breakfast plate. Such a lovely place to meet friends on a Saturday morning. Will be back!
Stephanie Walker
Alma is fantastic! Its pri fixed menu so you get what you get and what you get is DELICIOUS! Excellent service, perfect drink menu, unique wine options, and really fresh, yummy food. I always feel like I'm in Copenhagen when I come here, but it also feels like home. Its fancy but casual at the same time. Great vegan options as well.
sam ferguson
Everything was absolutely fabulous, but especially our server Rosie! She is a MUST to pair with your dining experience. Kind, knowledgeable, and very enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Sara Galloway
One of my favorite places in town. Food, beverages, ambiance… this place does it all.
Whether you want a morning coffee or a beautiful night on the town, alma is the place to stop by.
Lastly, the people. Wow!! Make sure to connect with Rosie if you’re stopping by. Genuinely the loveliest of humans. She makes every visit feel so special.
James B
There is a reason that Alma has been a mainstay for so long, being a leader and innovater in local the restaurant industry. I remember years ago, I'd go to Alma to figure out the best niche wines to drink, then they had legendary multi course meals, and now they have nailed down the living wage / no tipping process.
All the employees are warm and welcoming, the food is still great, and the pricing is still competitive and cheaper than a lot of the other high end restaurants that still incorporate tipping or service fee.
n k
Food is good, unique, and interesting but if it wasn't going on a friend's corporate card I'd never pay these prices. Would be 5 stars if they cut the prices in half

Needed change, they were very helpful. While I waited, I checked out environment it was poppin. Staff was a 10, nice had there own style. My hero academia official sponsor. I WILL BE BACK. Your on my radar.

i came to Alma for my birthday dinner this year and had a fantastic experience. i ate in the café side. to start, the environment was modern and clean. my group sat at the bar because it was so busy that we couldn’t get a table but we’re still comfortable. our server/bartender was amazing!! he was helpful, charismatic and funny— basically everything you’d want in a good server. and the FOOD was amazing. i tried the lamb burger and it was delicious!!! it was so good that i forgot to take a picture of it 😭 i ate it all up! my parents said their meals were amazing also! it is more on the expensive side but i think it definitely worth it. if your thinking of Alma, i definitely recommend!
Bobby Woods (Rickybobby)
Service and atmosphere was great. Parking was limited...on street only.
Food although chef inspired was good but not great in my opinion and those that accompanied me. Wine pairings could have been better as well. The arctic char and pureed potatoes give this restaurant a 4...would agree that the cost was fair had all the courses been great but they simply were not and so the price was out of line for the fair. Too many "better" restaurants in the twin cities for the cost...
Camille Smith
Alma is my favorite coffee spot in Minneapolis. I get the same iced latte every time and it always tastes perfect, the baristas are first rate. The staff is always so kind and helpful and the pastries/sourdough are top notch. We seriously love this place, and now that indoor dining is returning I’m looking forward to trying lunch or dinner there with my girlfriend. Try the house made flavor syrups!
Tab Fellows
Cafe with wonderful edgy kitchen. Excessively loud soundtrack better suited for prep time. Served old coffee stored in carafes. Time for new manager?
Charlie Lehnertz
Been to Alma Cafe 3 times. Good food, good people for the most part. Only giving 3 stars because on the third trip in I had to wait 20 minutes for the Ricotta cheese & Toast. Had to approach the counter to realize my toast had been sitting and getting cold for 15+ minutes. Employee behind the counter seem unapologetic and merely stated "I didn't know you were here" when asked why my name wasn't called for my food. Not the biggest deal, but really rubbed me the wrong way. Don't know if I will be back.
Sivaram Chinta
Veg food is good. Nothing out of this world. Very expensive. Not worth the hype. Very good service.
Stephen Sugarman
Went Alma for Brunch and I thought the egg bacon cheese on bun was good it was very dry - no lettuce, no tomato which would have helped - or there could be a béchamel sauce on the side - something to add moisture and flavor - coffee was delicious and the atmosphere is out standing-
Ezra Kone
Cannot recommend enough. The food at the cafe is absolutely amazing. Not to be dramatic, but I would literally die for an Alma cinnamon roll. The coffee is also really good, they definitely know how to brew good coffee here
Mark Gilbert
Four course prix fixe menu was excellent. Regular or vegetarian options. I enjoyed the wine pairings as well. Some of the wines were quite unusual, but all went well with the food.
Ryan C. Van Wyk
Stellar!! Restaurant Alma is a fantastic dining experience. Our server Jesse brought a wonderful, unhurried, warm approach, describing the dishes, paired wines, and cocktails with a sense of intimacy and delight. The menu consists of set of four options for each layer of a three course prix fixe menu. Every dish sounded great. Each of the dishes selected by my wife and I was deliciously and uniquely full of flavor. My wife opted for the wine pairings, while I enjoyed several of the seasonal cocktails. Excellent selection of wines to complement the dishes and uniquely takes on some standard cocktails. This is definitely the sort of restaurant that you go to enjoy a meal as an experience, taking your time and enjoying each course. Bread and butter was served initially as well as a small bite of dessert at the end. Looking forward to returning as the menu changes with the seasons!

Alma is definitely one of the top restaurants I've been to. They have a seasonal menu and currently have dine in. My party of 3 tried their tasting menu, which includes 4 courses and one free course of bread, cheese, olives, and a small drink. Non alcoholic beverages are available. The dinner itself was $78 per seat and an additional $48 per seat for wine pairing. If you're coming here for dinners don't pass up on the wine. I'm not a huge fan of wine but the sommelier chooses fantastic wines to be paired with each dish. An 18% fee is automatically added. They have a very easy reservation process online, and parking isn't too hard to find in nearby streets. They dont have a strict dress code but I would definitely advise looking proper to not look out of place.
Kevyn Funk
Really thoughtful and delicious dining experience and the menu changes every few weeks. They have excellent vegetarian prix fixe options!
Gwen Bailey
pretty cute cafe, very busy friday at lunchtime.
Brandon imsdahl
My wife took me here to celebrate my birthday. Everything about our experience was amazing. The 3 course menu with delicious and the wine pairing with each course was spot on. Our server was very helpful in explaining the wine that came with each course without being snobby. From my experience that's not easy, or so it seems. The price was high-ish but I never felt like what I got wasn't worth it since the quality of ingredients was exceptional. Overall we had such a great experience that I'm sure we'll find ourselves back here from time to time.
Stephanie Randolph
We went on Friday for the Chicken sandwiches. So good. Drinks were strong and well made. I LOVED the app they used to order and pay. It made it so easy to just order various parts of the meal when ready.
Eddie Mend
The food at the cafe was okay. It was a simple breakfast sandwich spot. The chocolate chip cookie was probably the beta cookie I’ve ever had! I recommend this place just for the pastries and desserts. We did not get to check out the actual restaurant.
Chau Giang Ngo Huynh (Katherine)
Great great location, fantastic dessert, romantic atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Rachel Kahler
Both the food and the service were 100%! When asked for her opinion to help me decide which entree I should get, our server provided the perfect information about the eating experience of each dish rather than just a dry description. The timing of each visit from a staff member to our table, whether it was to check in, fill water, bring food, or even fold the napkin when I went to the restroom, was impeccable. This place is a gem, and well worth the occasional splurge.
k D
Great place with a wonderful, relaxed vibe. Service was a bit spotty but the employees were very nice. Food was excellent. Cauliflower kinda blew my mind and the miso cookie is next level!
Angela Martino
Always amazing I’ve been going here for several years never had a bad experience or tried something I didn’t like.
Simon Spector
Truly phenomenal experience, New American cuisine at its finest. Dishes were very well balanced and the menu had a good variety of options for those with specific dietary preferences. Very intricate ornamentation, dishes had a perfect amount of complexity without becoming confused. Wait staff was very honest and friendly, food spiced and flavored to perfection. A nicer dinner to be sure, but well worth the price.
Nick Green
Fantastic takeout dinner, we did then multi course takeout menu and it was a wonderful end to the week. Small instructions on when to heat each component helped make it feel like a multi course meal at a restaurant. From the lobster gnocchi to the Paris-Brest for dessert, everything was delicious!
Katherine Fines
Fantastic meal! We each selected 3 different items from the tasting menu to get as many tastes as possible, and all were delicious and impressive. My favorite was the coconut stew! The waiter was very friendly and helpful, but the service was never intrusive. It was a great balance. We would definitely return for a future special occasion.
The best surprise was learning that they have a dairy-free menu! It was so nice to not have to worry about that during the meal. There were still plenty of options for me, too!
It did get quite loud later in the evening. The beginning part of our meal was more enjoyable because we could converse better.
Adepeju Nordvik
Good food, good service, we'll be back
Angelique Dahlberg
I had dinner and drinks with a friend here on a Wednesday evening. It was very lively, the waitstaff was excellent, and the food was good. We both got - and loved - the lamb burger. I bought the rigatoni to bring home to my husband, and he loved it as leftovers. The lighting was dim, so if you have vision problems be ready to use your phone as a flashlight. There were limited regular chair seating options, too, so if you aren’t comfortable on a high stool, make a reservation.
Bronwyn Held
I went here for breakfast after things started reopening. I was impressed with the atmosphere. Very light, sunny, and clean. The pastries looked delicious and there was plenty of seating spaced far apart. Patio seating as well. They take your number for contact tracing. Some customers wore masks and some didn't. Some staff wore masks and some didn't. I couldn't see a specific policy. You can order from your table via QR code or at the counter. We had a giftcard, and it doesn't seem like they are set up to use those. You can't pay at the table with it, and even though their website gives me a code they can scan to pay I had to read the numbers out so she could type it in her machine. The food and drinks were great however and I like that they have a rotating menu. I had a sandwich which tasted amazing. You do bus your own table and get your own water, napkins, silverware, which is fine. The food is packaged as if to go, which is fine. But even though some packaging was recyclable there was no recycling bin. I think I will wait to go again until the pandemic is more fully over and they get back to more sustainable practices, but I will for sure be back again.
Paul L
Burger night was great. My wife had the mushroom burger... I'm not big on mushrooms but a small bite was delicious. Ooooh mommy burger was awesome! Also their seasonal essential oil is excellent.
Tom Bowman
Lovely food, presentation, atmosphere.
Memorable and delicious 😋
Melina Jerve
Delicious chai tea lattes. We were there at lunch time and split the egg strata and the turkey sandwich. Both were super good. Friendly staff. We'll be back!
Marian Rubenfeld
I just wanted to praise the Dinner for Two take out feature Cafe Alma has been having on a weekly basis. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to be supporting this great cafe during these daunting times, and this is a great way to do it. I especially wanted to compliment this week's offering , which featured roasted duck breast and rice pilaf, as being exquisite. The meals have been absolutely top notch, and we applaud your efforts and will continue to support you. Good luck as you continue to battle this miserable covid nemesis. Hip Hip Hooray! and here's to great food!
JLC
Wow … service isn’t what it used to be. Food is still good but haven’t figured out how to create a good overall experience.
Danny Horan
Consistently one of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. Fixed three course menu (you choose one dish from each course). Great range of menu items that change pretty consistently with the seasons. Portion size is perfect and you leave full but not stuffed. I've been more than a dozen time and have always had amazing service. Great wine list (both by the glass and by the bottle). Has a boutique hotel upstairs with a few beautifully designed rooms.
Corey Helland
Last weekend we went to Restaurant Alma for a special date night. We had been there 3-4 times before, but this was the first time in several years. Once again it exceeded our expectations!! We went all-in on the tasting menu and wine pairings, plus appetizer, dessert, and coffee. Perfect service and food end-to-end.
Unless you're not wine drinker, I HIGHLY recommend the wine pairing. It's a good pour and really does add a lot to the flavors and overall experience. 100% worth the extra cost.
Thank you Alma for another great night! We'll be back again soon!!
biggyjrc
We celebrated our 5 year anniversary tonight....Laurie was superb! The entire experience from beginning to end was spectacular! Amazing food and wine selection galore! We were seated right by the kitchen so we could see all the magic happening! The passion in the kitchen was unbelievable and it showed! Amazing job and thank you for the amazing experience!
Cady Clark
Favorite spot in the city! The best carrot juice and pastries… not to mention super sweet staff!! Jhamarri is the best
Michael Freeny
The food was not as good as I expected from reading the reviews. This dinner cost $250 and I didn't really like any of the food. The food did not justify the price. There are better places for the same price.
Dana Murphy
Ate here for my birthday tonight and I was very impressed with the food and service. I ordered the arugula and plum salad, mung bean pancakes, and the halibut - every course was perfectly done and presented nicely. Our server also gave us two bite size desserts as a birthday treat and they were delicious! Great food, service, and overall experience!
Alyssa Hernandez
Ate at the cafe and loved it. The food is great. I didn't actually try any of the cocktails, but my friends enjoyed theirs. Parking is tough, and we had to walk a few blocks. Highly recommend the whitefish salad appetizer. Great food! Portions were a little small, so I would recommend getting apps and dessert (or just ordering a side like a normal person?).
Diana M
It was great service and fabulous food, but way, way too expensive. It was a once in a lifetime experience because I can get as wonderful an experience at a place that is not as astronomical. $65 per person for a three course meal. That's insane. While the flavors were fantastic and the duck was without question the best I've ever had, I won't be doing this again. Don't get me wrong, I dine at high and higher end establishments frequently. I'm blessed to live in the Twin Cities were we have so many other options. I won't be back.
Eli Harvey
Absolutely delicious from start to finish. Delicious coffee, delicious pastries, delicious sandwiches. SO GOOD.
Kevin Reichel
I ate in the restaurant by reservation. 3 course meal. Fixed price. The food was amazing. Their wine list is deep and well paired with the food. Service was attentive and to the point. One thing that I would personally enjoy is an expanded beer list and pairing from the chefs. I understand that this may not be important to some, so I'll still give it 5 stars.
Regina Huset
Fantastic. Food was great, best spritz I have had in years. Nice atmosphere, not too noisy.
Will Matthews
I can't say enough good thing about this place. Staff in both the bar/cafe and restaurant were on their A game. We had a show to catch and only about an hour to eat and they totally had our back and kept things moving! Food was amazing cooked. We had appetizers over in the bad. Smoked Fish and Cheese plate were excellent. Best happy hour pricing in Minneapolis when looking at the quality/cost ratio. Sure, you might find cheaper, but the quality here was THROUGH the roof. The tasting menu at the table was the bomb. My only complaint is that WE ran out of time and couldn't eat dessert. Great upscale experience, reasonably priced for the quality, and would go there again. Thank you to Team Alma!
Adam Wolkoff
Lovely lunch at the Cafe. Fresh, healthy and tasty.
Tom Brander
We travel a lot and love food, my wife found this and we were blown away ho good it is. The service was nice and un-obtrusive yet attentive. We asked many questions about the menu and then the dishes when we taste them, along with the paired wine tasting. We had the three course menu each was outstanding and I remarked that at the final course it was almost orgasmic! yest that good. Highly recommended.. (not cheap but we did go all out)

We had lunch there during a visit, it was recommended to us by a friend from Minneapolis. We were not disappointed. There was a long waiting time so we decided to eat at the bar. Waiters were friendly and very useful. The food was great and the coffee was good.
Garek Berard
I have eaten at the cafe for dinner many times and I have enjoyed each experience. The food is really quality, their house made ricotta is too good. I love the cocktails and it is great to end a meal with a quality cappuccino. I highly recommend checking it out.
Jasmine Vo
Was just here last night with my boyfriend and friend. The foods and drinks was delicious. Quality of the food was good. The king crab taste fresh and the burger wasn’t greasy. We left full but still felt light with energy. Our server was also nice and attentive.
Paul Fischer
We have gone here the last two years to celebrate our anniversary, and will be going back again next year. The food and service is excellent, and the way the menu rotates with the various choices for each course ensures anyone can create an amazing dining experience. The staff's knowledge of the various options is impressive and helpful. Cannot say enough great things about it!
Melody Huskey
Awesome spot, great atmosphere , great service and the coffee and food were all excellent.
Jennina Perez
This place excels on making you feel one of a kind. The wine list is extraordinary, every time I go. When leaving I find myself wanting to track down every wine I have tried to bring home. The food excels in creativity, flavor combinations and pairings. If you have not been here, it is time to treat yo' self and go.
Adam Ford
I always enjoy a pre fixe meal, because it forces me to try new things and it's fun to try various wines to go with them. I like the fact that there are several options for each course, and while they may be small plates, at the end of the night I was full. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun, but I did not see any part of the hotel.
Sophie Jiang
So delicious!!! The staffs are so welcome and friendly. Even though the price is a little expensive but definitely worth it! The croissant and brownie are amazing. Can't resist this place. The decoration and atmosphere is so relaxing. Highly recommend it!
Doug Topping
We had a wonderful dinner at Alma on the cafe side. We almost missed this place as the website only shows the 3 course menu and we wanted something a bit lighter. The restaurant / hotel has a separate more formal dining area, and a lively cafe side. We started with the crispy cauliflower which was reminiscent of calamari with a slightly spicy bite from the crispy jalapeño slices which were balanced by lightly fried mint leaves, sesame

The chicken Cobb salad was standard. A little heavy handed with the dressing, and modest in size for a salad by my standards. The pizza was good, the crust thin and crispy. It didn't quite blow me away, but met our expectations. Service was quick and friendly. A good alternative if you're looking for a quick personal-sized pizza.

We ate for the first time in the new Alma Cafe. It was a Friday night, busy but not too loud. Food is very good not as formal but still very interesting and very tasty. The wine list is quite unique and gives one the opportunity to try some things they would never have known about otherwise. We had some friends who came in from Miami and felt the place was very cool.

Restaurant Alma had been on my list of places to eat at for quite some time. When I finally made it there for my birthday dinner I was not disappointed! The three course dinner with wine pairing was really good, although a bit overpriced. Not only is the food seasonally fresh, locally farmed; the plates were colorful with flavors that suited the crisp MN fall air. Of the three courses I had, the flavor with the scallop dish was my favorite! The service and timing of the wine pairings and food was spot on.
The one thing I was a little taken back by was that they include a 3% additional tax to every tab to enable them to offer healthcare to their employees.

I had been really excited to try Restaurant Alma for a while, and was excited when my fiance' recommended we get a reservation. I had a good experience all in all, but a few minor gripes leads to the 3 / 5 rating.
I was upset when we turned up early for our 8:30 reservation that we were not seated until 8:50, when we were seated we were in one of the worst tables back in a corner.
The food was all very flavorful, and I very much enjoyed my selections, but I felt my second course and main course were a little cooler than they should have been. (I ordered the Pork Belly In Parchment and the Roasted Pork Loin)
Dessert was delicious and helped to bring the experience to a positive close.
For the money I would probably rather visit Spoon and Stable, but I'm glad I tried Restaurant Alma.

I liked it! It’s casual/chic, so if you’re looking for a place to have a nice lunch and catch up on some work OR you have a few relatives in town and you don’t want to visit a typical spot, GO HERE!! My friend LOVES the turkey burger (she let me have a piece and IT WAS GUUD!!) I had a vegetarian pasta dish just because I’m on a diet, but when I go back I plan on having that turkey burger! The food was priced reasonably and delicious! Next time I’m taking the hubby! 😀

My wife and I had our first post-covid date night at Alma tonight. The service was safe and thoughtful. The food was the perfect combination of hardy and haute. A tremendous meal with excellent pairings. We couldn't have been happier.
Harriet Om.
Summer time offers patio sitting which I absolutely enjoyed. I have eaten in their cafe area which was as refreshing. Hype/classy and artsy kinda crowd. Courteous service and one of a kind curated drinks. I love their coconut chocolate macaroons. Cant wait to visit their fine dinning restaurant.
Chase Nelson
I stopped into the Alma cafe for happy hour and loved everything I had. I'd only been to the course meal side of the business but I thoroughly enjoyed the more casual setting. Todd was super friendly and showed me around while I waited for a spot. I highly recommend stopping by.
Ryan Larson
Was here last night with my wife for dinner and we had a fantastic time. We sat in the café and ordered bread and the cheese plate for an appetizer both were fantastic. We had several cocktails and each one was very different from the last, some were better than others but all were pretty tasty.
Tom was our server and he did a fantastic job. We both had seafood for dinner and the food was incredible. We ate and drank extensively but our overall bill wasn't too bad at the end. Cannot wait to go again.

We just went back for a second time, after a few years, and we will be coming back again! If we had time for 3 hour meals often and a bigger food budget we'd make it a regular spot. All 7 dishes we had (2 of each course for the 2 of us, plus dessert) were wonderful - a great blend of flavors and textures in each individually, and each flowed nicely from one to the next. dessert was a great, clean, finish. the restaurant was busy, but not crowded, and service was prompt but left us to ourselves, which we prefer. In talking with friends and family for recommendations for a date night, this place came up multiple times. We are so happy it did!

I went to brunch at the Alma in February 2018 and had a great experience. My date and I shared the lamb burger and baked strata which were both amazing. The lamb burger was absolutely amazing, but will come out as medium to medium rare, so if you like it more well-done you’ll need to ask them for that. The strata was also amazing, it’s similar to quiche. The service was excellent, they even split the dish for us to share. If you’re in the mood for drinks, the carrot mimosa is a unique tasty drink.
Robert Imrie
I immediately liked the ambience. We sat at the counter corner and our waitress was helpful, knowledgeable and fun. Appetizers were complex but not gratuitously so; every ingredient had purpose and played well with the others. I liked that you had to choose 3 things. Each course was exciting, and different. We were full but not stuffed at the end, which I appreciated. Not cheap but didn’t break the bank. We’ll be back soon.
Ryan Bolduan
Both the Restaurant and Cafe are wonderful. The tasting menu on the restaurant side is both elegant and modern. A perfect place to go for that special date. The Cafe side is also wonderful; a more casual and relaxed atmosphere with fresh seasonal food. The brunch is particularly good, but don't think you can walk up - a reservation is a must.
laura h
Wow this brunch was great. We had the Monty and the other breakfast sandwich. They were both incredible. I would definitely recommend the Alma Cafe. They have incredible breakfast potatoes. I would love to go back and try some of their cocktails.
Sue Falldin
The food was really good and the waiter was nice. Iced tea was especially good. Had a little wait to get our desserts but they were worth it. I preferred the turkey burger and the apple crisp with cardoman ice cream. Nothing like a chocolate croissant to take home for breakfast.
LGC
Very polite staff, and absolutely amazing Brunch! I went for a casual business meeting and was impressed with the feel and environment they had at Alma. It was a tad cold in there so I just kept my jacket on, but I suppose that helps stop customers from lingering. Ha. Overall, great food, nice environment, and kind staff. I would be interested to try their dinner, and drinks available in the future.
Marwan Mohammed
I had a brunch last week-end. Just amazing and so tasty. It was my first time in Minneapolis and at Alma Cafe. Cozy design, warm and friendly team. Special mention for Anne-Sophie, the French waitress. She was perfect !
Thomas Dupont
Ordered takeout of the Quail dinner last night. It was truly a wonderful at home dining experience. The food was delicious and the way it was separately packed for takeout made the experience of plating the food at home feel like dining in the restaurant. Thanks for making our night special.
Ian Ronningen
Fantastic cocktails, great service, great atmosphere. There are some really great dishes and the staff is extremely well informed. The cafe takes no reservations, which is fantastic. It makes it a unique experience to walk in and have such a well put together meal.
Emanuel Sas
Our party accidentally made a reservation for the cafe and not the restaurant - so double check when you're calling to make a reservation. The restaurant was booked but they were very accommodating and eventually we're able to find a way to get us in for a dinner for 4. The restaurant had a very nice environment - calm, relaxed, and quiet. The waitress was very nice and did not rush us at all. All 4 of us thought our food was very good. I had the bison tartare, ink squid and scallops for the 3 course meal. The ink squid and the scallops were delicious.
Brian Rolph
My fiancé loved everything about Alma. I loved the bread basket and my duck entree was some of the best I’ve ever had.
My struggle, is that after gratuity, meal, and employee health benefits surcharge we were almost $200 in and I was still hungry. On top of that, I felt the first course, second course, and one beverage were underwhelming.
It was worth the trip to Alma, as I’ve love visiting different restaurants, but the cost for 2 meals, 2 drinks, and a desert was far over what I would have considered a realistic price for what we were served. Worth the trip, not worth a return trip.
Morgan Neely
We had a delicious 3 course meal. Ambiance was perfect. Caviar appetizer perfect. Bonnie, our server, was wonderful—personable, knowledgeable about the courses and friendly! Dinner was nice and slow. What a place. Thank you:)
Scott S
Every part of every course was some of the best food I've ever had in the twin cities. You pick from 4 starters 4 pasta etc course and 4 entrees for $59. You decide. No set combination. Skip the matched $35 wine flight - It's only 3 half glasses. Just have 2 full glasses of your own choosing for less. All 4 of us were impressed.
Keppen Kettering
A Wonderful Lunch! Met a friend for lunch there the other day. I had the Hominy Corn Cake and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. So gooood. Both of our meals were really fresh and well done. Also tried their fresh squeezed juice, yum! Will for sure be going back.
John Frankenfield
The staff was great the waiter was charming and the attendants were pleasing. The food was overall FANTASTIC! The dining experience was memorable. It was A+ all the way. One of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. You will not be disappointed.
Andrea Lee Harris
Fresh and warm on a cold morning. I stumbled into what I was told was a great breakfast restaurant on my first day in Minnesota. I was to early for full brunch. They start at 9am on Saturday, but I chose something yummy to fill me up. The food is really good. Blueberry vanilla danish is so good it will make me travel back again. Found out they have a hotel here as well. Highly recommend this chic but casual space.
Julie Manuel
This was our first time to Restaurant Alma. We were absolutely impressed from the decor, to the service to of course the food. We had a 3 coursed dinner that had options to choose from for each course. We started with a ricotta and crackers with honey and fresh herbs that was so simple yet flavorful and easy to eat. The Bison tartar and roasted Brussels Sprouts with Fennel were great 1st courses. Then we had pasta for our second course which were so different, but both delicious. Third course was scallops and duck. I ordered the scallops, my husband ordered the duck and we ended up switching half way through because they were both so good, it would have been a shame to not share! The desserts were the largest portions of desserts we've come across for the price. We had expected much smaller sizes. The Pear Millefieulle and Carmel coffee pot de creme were our choices, with the pear dessert hitting every dessert button there is. The atmosphere is quite nice. It was very busy, and you could still have a conversation with out being drown out by the loudness. Couple things to know about Restaurant Alma ; they have a parking lot, but not for restaurant parking. They do have valet. What is nice is you can pay the valet charge in the Cafe part with a card, or pay the valet with cash. Valet was $9 plus tip. We loved one of the breads that was served in the basket on the table, and were able to purchase a loaf in the Cafe part. We absolutely cannot wait to go back to try Cafe Alma now too!
Alexis Favis
I enjoyed Alma so much. The menu is thoughtful and simple. Everything sounds delicious. Staff is very professional. This was a perfect restaurant for a client dinner. It might not accommodate a large group normally, but they took our reservation and were very well prepared for us. Can't wait for my next visit to Minneapolis where I might even consider staying at one of the few rooms the botique hotel above the restaurant.
M. Batchelor
Long time breakfast fave. Get the potatoes!
Regina Hernandez
We started with Latte's that were delightful and beautifully made. We ordered the Morty Egg Sandwich and substituted for a biscuit instead of an English muffin. The crispy potatoes that it comes with are sooo good! Great flavor and crunch. We also ordered the Baked Egg Strata with a side of avocado and oh my that was tasty. They have small portions but it was nice to not leave brunch super full. No nap needed afterwards ;) The downside to our experience was the service. Our server was not friendly and seemed to rush us out. Even the people who brought our dishes out were cold. Despite the bad service, we will be back because we love the food!
Maureen Gray
They were really gracious about our food restrictions. I called in advance to let them know we were not able to have dairy, grains, or any added sweetener. The chefs went through the menu before we got there, and our server knew what we could and could not have and they adjusted the menu for every course to have something delicious that fit our needs! No plain chicken breast for this meal! Thank you so much Alma for making our meal special!
Matt Dow
A more casual version of the lovely restaurant next door. Great food, cocktails, and wine. Beer selection is a little thin, but they enough options to pair with whatever you'd order. The crispy smashed potatoes are dangerously tasty!
Sandy Archer A. Baker
With a sophisticated and full of flavors menu, great service and cozy dinning rooms, Alma was definitely our favorite experience in the twin cities since we moved here 2 year ago!
Definitely recommend it! You won’t regret it!
Tiffany Cannon
I chose this restaurant for my 40th birthday and I was extremely disappointed. Not a single dish stood out enough to make me want to return. I had the shaved cured pork for my first dish and it wasn’t anything special. I felt I could easily recreate this at home but I wouldn’t want to. My second dish was the Swiss chard rotolo. Once again, I was disappointed. It was dry. The final course was 12 hour braised beef. It was extremely tender but very salty. The dessert,a dark chocolate torte, was the best part of the meal, and I would definitely order it again. However, this meal did not leave me with the desire to return. A $200 meal shouldn’t be a huge disappointment.

After hearing a good deal about Alma, we were not disappointed. We opted for the cafe, which was a great choice for informal a la carte choices. The space is bright and has a welcoming feel, comfortable and unfancy. Service was outstanding, very friendly and upbeat, with a good knowledge of the food and wine.
Tom Bowman
One selects 3 courses from several choices per course for $52 (4/15/2015). I did need to pay an extra $5 for my 3rd course since I selected the lamb. The courses are sophisticated, modest portions, of creative and very thoughtfully combined ingredients. I'm afraid that I won't remember all of what any of my courses had combined but I can say that the combinations worked very well to make for a delightful taste experience. It is possible to order single course a la carte. The menu changes as different foods come into season, so I won't try too suggest any favorite. My wife and I had all different courses and tasted each other's, they were all wonderful. I don't drink, but the wine list looked extensive. We did have desserts and cheeses after dinner. The menu describes these well, and the desserts were as elegant as the other courses. My wife got a 'strawberry cake' dessert, which had virtually no strawberries, but rather had items flavored with strawberry including what looked like a cracker that simply melted in your mouth bursting with strawberry flavor. I had a coconut dessert, that again was not so much 'just' coconut, but was a mix of cake, ice cream, crispys, with toasted coconut sprinkled liberally over all. We selected cheeses with fruits that went together very nicely. Reservations may be a good idea - since there were only two of us and we were somewhat early, we were seated at once, but after perhaps 7-8PM the place filled up. Service was attentive and described the courses in succulent detail. Although a bit expensive for us to frequent, it is a reasonable deal and we would consider returning for special occasions especially with friends who would appreciate something besides 'traditional' fare (it's definitely not a burger/steak/Italian/Chinese type of menu).
Holly Slocum
Lovely place for organic & deliciously surprising food combinations. Great atmosphere - romantic but also quiet & friendly for families or friends. Excellent wine list. Moderately priced. A favorite spot in the Twin Cities!
William Ramaekers
The first time I came here I was very impressed. Second time was really underwhelming. I had to send back burnt toast and over cooked bacon. The meal was not very satisfying, I got the soft eggs and it was literally just scrambled eggs with some cream. The crispy potatoes and house made tonic are staple treats. It seems like a lot of items are hit or miss which is tough when the menu is very nondescript.
The Boy Named SuZi
Come here every year to celebrate my wife proposing marriage to me. Food is amazing, staff is friendly, knowledgeable and not judgemental. I would post photos, but my phone's pictures don't do the food Justice.
Kyle Tharaldson
Alma is the best combination of a neighborhood cafe' and a sophisticated urban hangout. The pastries are absolutely amazing. Check out the brunch for sure. Great atmosphere, great service (they don't mind if I come and hang out forever reading the paper over a cup of coffee), and all at a very reasonable price point. As a resident in the neighborhood, Alma gets my business more often than anywhere else.
hilary mohs
Great. Very cozy and intimate atmosphere. The tasting menu has enough variation to keep it interesting and the wine pairing was excellent. Very reasonable price for the quality of the meal (65$ meal and 35$ wine pairing$
John Hiebert
So good. First time back since the remodel and love the addition. Previously, there was nowhere to really get a drink as their bar was really used for dinner guests. But now it has everything, including six hotel rooms (weird). But seriously folks, the good is (and always has been) top notch. It's an expensive cost of entry (figure $100 per person with tip, tax and arrive), but I think it's totally worth it.
David Poepping
This has a sort of retro modern feel to it which makes the atmosphere awesome and comfortable. The price was outrageous. They made the dinner an experience which was great, but we were there over two hours. Dinner here is definitely an event with the unique menu and the sort of laid back pampering vibe.
Mike Hoschka
Alma’s Thursday night burger was one of the best in the Twin Cities. Was! What separated their version of the popular 2 patty burgers offered by the others that make the top 5 list was their bun. More like a croissant actually so buttery , soft and delicious. Unfortunately they made the decision to change the bun just a couple weeks ago. I won’t be going back anytime soon for the Thursday Burger unfortunately. I will add that Alma has fantastic food across the entire menu.
laurie tebbe
1st level Somm had some excellent pairings. Salad with beets was fantastic. The orzo with shrimp was absolutely sublime. Entree was a choice of mahi mahi or duck. I tried both. I am in love with the duck. Two different desserts both very interesting. Nice surprise, they gave us a box of pastries/baked goods to take home. The coconut macaroon was to die for.
yoki meme
Fine dining at it's best!! New menu every few weeks. A bit Pricy but worth every bite.
Alexandra Lazarewicz
I think I eat breakfast here at least once a month, if not twice. The whole experience is a luxury. First of all the design of the cafe is beautiful. It's hard not to keep looking around at all the little details that really make this place shine. Next up, the coffee - Best vanilla latte in town. And then the food. Holy drool-fest, the food. Do yourself a favor and get the Baked Egg Strata. Oh and save room for a fruit galette, or a cinnamon bun. - - Or do what I do and get both.
Maggi Heyer
Restaurant Alma offers some amazing food. Everything we ate was delicious, though my favorite was dessert. The service was exceptional and I appreciated that the server walked us through how each wine paired with a dish.
Alina Kifyak
My husband been to Alma three times. It’s our favorite place. The food is nothing compare to other restaurants. I love that each time we went it was different menus. I highly recommend this place. Also The staff are very friendly.
Davis Turner
Each "course" was very delicious and did not disappoint. However, it took 45 minutes between each course, and including dessert and the time before ordering, the whole experience for a party of four took close to three hours! People in larger parties sitting around us were out before us.
David Rokhinson
Great breakfast cafe!

“Dinner”
This was our 2nd time there and my sister, her husband, my brother and his wife for the 1st time. The food was great as always. The lobster bisque is a must. Next time we'll probably spend more on the appetizers and split the entree. We're always impressed with how professional the waiters are. We will go back.
Earl Gesling
Service here is at the highest level! True service not pretentious or snobby. Food is amazing as well. Bakery in the cafe, desserts are perfectly balanced. Cocktails are a must! Favorite restaurant in the cities!
Patrick Divine
Very enjoyable evening with our friends at Cafe Alma. Same great food and service we have received from James Beard winning Chef, Alex Roberts' staff in the past as it is now. Cafe Alma differs from Restaurant Alma in that it is more casual (you can order off the menu as you desire) instead of a prix fixe dining experience. Either way, you won't be disappointed. We've gone there occasionally since 1998 and it's always been worth every penny spent!
Grace Chryssomallis
Really loving the new(ish) Cafe. Been here a few times now and it's always a great experience. The house made pasta and miso salmon are both delicious, and the tempura cauliflower is seriously to die for. Cocktail menu is definitely creative, although not all of them are winners, but pretty great selection of wines by the glass. And the butterscotch panna cotta is literally the best thing ever!!
Briana L
Dinner and drinks were delicious, and exactly what we wanted - a fine dining experience with the Twin Cities flair. My only complaint is that the tables are very tightly packed together - the waiter actually had difficulty getting to the table next to us (a corner table) because of how close they all are.
Rita Charlesworth
At Alma Cafe, we had appetizer, salad, entrees, and dessert. The dishes were very attractively presented. The food was good, nothing particularly interesting or delicious about it. The menu seemed quite limited. They serve only bar food until 5 pm.
Kenney Hanzely
Absolutely amazing seasonal food! The wine selection and pairings are phenomenal. I highly recommend going every 4-6 weeks as the menu is constantly changing to accommodate fresh, local, in season ingredients.
David Rust
Truly high class dining. Alma is one of those establishments that excels at a small yet intricate menu! I cannot accentuate enough the degrees by which this restaurant exceeded my every expectation.
From the opening course of an amazing soup to the lovely coconut sherbet served as a palate cleanser, there were constant, pleasant surprises coming to our table as I sat in one of the most comfortable and relaxing establishments I've ever had the pleasure to visit!
Christina Lopez-Jensen
Cafe Alma is our absolute favorite happy hour spot in the metro. The food is always fantastic and we love the rotating and signature cocktails. I recommend sitting at the bar because the bartenders are the best!
Erin Houge
Went to Alma for the first time last night. We had the mustard pretzel bread, cheese plate, mac & cheese, Portugese Stew and King Crab Cakes. It was all phenomenal. We had several craft cocktails, and prosecco on tap. We typically go to the Sample Room for small plates, but this was excellent and our new go-to. Our server Tom was awesome too. Definitely worth the visit.
Carrie Elizabeth
I was very disappointed in my almond milk mocha. There was no foam and did not taste like much. I hope it was just a mistake. The building is super classy and fun I would like to try again.
Steve Groetken
The just a little crazy Alma. Always a favorite to visit when in the city. We try to make it a regular stop. Never had a bad meal and really a high percentage of the meals have been great. Just stop changing the rules. Seriously. Our visit this time started with the 'manager' stopping by a moment after we sat down. Her opening gambit, the first words out of her "we are not going to ask you to move this time..." uh...thanks question mark. You see both the host and the cashier neglected to tell us that Alma changed seating rules when and where they do table service. So we ordered at the counter and went and found a seat. Following the very instructions we had gotten the last time we were here just a few months past. Obviously we broke the new and apparently strict protocols. Alma has seriously changed these things so many times over the past 2-3 years. I kind of want advanced email notification for future visits. The manager said they are still 'Getting to know our customers' ...that is a long honeymoon period and i am considering a divorce. I will follow the marital rules if they can be a bit more consistent. Please. Because the service and the food is so worth even a new manager's experimental approach(which is generally a good thing). The steak and eggs was spot on perfect. The wait staff even after our unknowing mistake was super polite and accommodating. Go to Alma. Eat. Converse. Have a great time. Even if they 'wont make you move this time' .....edit the manager did slip us an apology note. It was well recieved. Ty.

Never disappoints...even during a pandemic! Perfect getaway for the night.
Stephen Brodsky
At a conference in Minneapplis, I was stuck dealing with a work emergency, so I missed a dinner date. On my own I walked across the river to Restaurant Alma (on a tip from a friend). They welcomed me and made me feel at home even though I was alone. Delicious inventive food and an interesting and deep wine list. The staff could not have been nicer. Round trip on the Stone Bridge. A wonderful evening.
Yasin Mohamed
Great breakfast sandwiches. Amazing coffee.
Brant Egertson
Excellent cocktails and food! We went for their Thursday burger special which was phenomenal. Cameron was wonderful behind the bar, providing fun conversation and amazing drinks! Recommend!
Rod Dirks
Alma Cafe was a great spot for an early morning pastry. Loved the decor, but the pastries were incredible! Will definitely make this a regular stop when we're in town!
Josh Mervis
Wonderful restaurant, really nicely put together and interesting flavors and presentations. One of the cooler pieces of this place is both their wine/cocktail list and the fluency with which they create interesting non-alcoholic beverages--not so common to see both in one place.
Jose Campos
This is an amazing place to really enjoy a full dinner. The ambient it quiet enough for conversation and dates. The food is an experience to say the least! (too busy enjoying the food to take photos but take my word, it looked at least as good as it tasted)
OuttaTownTony
Definitely Go! Ate on cafe side. Did Sunday 3 Course Price Fix Menu. All items were fresh, unique and delicious. Helpings were not small but not large, slightly less than average plated quantity.
Shela Usadi
I love this place. The food is unique and absolutely delicious, perfect for someone with an international palette like me. I had the quail pancakes with charred broccoli. It is pretty pricey but definitely worth it!
Kenn Rockler
We are from the industry, and our party of five all felt this was one of the best dining experiences we could recall. From appetizers, to entrees, to wine and service, it was A+ all the way. Among the best of the best were the pasta with pesto, the squash (I never thought I would rave about a squash dish), the Berkshire pork chop, the brisket, and the Mahi Mahi. The in house baked baguette and cheese were excellent, especially the homemade Ricotta!
Kehl Family
Who are these people complaining about this place? Disgruntled competitors, food snobs who can't say any thing good? Our meal was outstanding, service was great. The meal was not cheap but you get what you pay for and when you are eating marlin and sturgeon, you are going to have to pay. Presentaion was great, flavors undescribable. Probably the best meal we have ever had, and I would guess 99% of people will say the same.
Derek Caplan
Great brunch, solid service and interesting selections. The cold brew smoothie is a mix of flavors you might think don't work well together, but it will definitely surprise you.
Steven Price
First time here, will come back. Very flavorful food. Not too pricey! I had the Saltado, beef was tender, a little too vinegary for my taste, but good. My husband had Seco De Carne, it was very tasty, I think he would try the chicken next time.
Pieter K
Unfortunately they changed the whole concept. They had a nice cafe-restaurant and a more upscale one. The cafe-restaurant does no longer serve diner. Only breakfast and lunch. Sandwich is tasty but served in a paper, not even on a plate with knife and fork. A pity.
Amanda Supak
Come for an amazing dining experience! The quality of the food is so fresh, and clearly created with care and expertise. The staff is very attentive. The bottom of the menu states that they receive medical and retirement benifits! Everything about this place exudes care for the food and the staff.
Nahil
PERFECT FOOD. This is how restaurants should cook and serve meals. Seriously. ALMA needs to give a course to everyone. I got the 3 course thing with my husband and it was splendid. the QUAIL was cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor!!! THAT WAS SOMETHING ILL NEVER FORGET. The Waiters are so nice and it's def a place to go for a special occasion! THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT SERVICE.
Denise Mueffelman
Alma Restaurant - WAY too spendy for my taste. We dined there for a special occasion. While I thought the food was good, the service was fine, and the ambiance okay, it wasn't exceptional.
Which is what I do expect for the prices we paid. Glad we did it, but definitely don't need to go back.
Ivo EMS
Great restaurant! Highly recommend
Jessica Haverstock
We picked up two appetizers and entrees for dinner on Wednesday. The turnaround was quick, the price was fair, and every bite we ate was delicious. Thank you Alma!
JRob Zetelumen
Good food, and the place seems progressive. They have unisex bathrooms, which really should be the norm. The place is very comfortable, with a meandering layout, rather than just a big room full of tables. Mostly the point is that the food is really good
Kory Robeck
The food was fantastic and the service very prompt and knowledgeable. They offer the service to pair your wine with the dishes you order and are spot on with their choices. This is the place for a wondrous date night or with a group of friends.
Tom J
A superlative dining experience. I dined there last night with my parents and we were very impressed. We have been fortunate to have dined at many MIchelin starred restaurants in some major cities and frankly, notwithstanding the somewhat casual atmosphere, the food and service at Alma ranks with the best of them, albeit, again, on a casual level. I believe it can be tricky to pull off the less formal environment paired with highly elevated cooking and excellent service, but this restaurant rises to the occasion. Kudos. FYI...the Pot de Creme is a tour de force and rivals anything offered by say, Per Se, Daniel, Alinea, etc. Probably the best dessert I ever have eaten.

The food was really good, but the service was...awkward. There seemed to be a spat going on between Dillon, the server, and the person who was assisting with drinks/clean-up/etc. The person assisting was very friendly and helpful, so the "spat" or "small tantrum" was nothing but awkward and uncomfortable. I wish that wouldn't have happened because everything else was great.

This has been my favorite restaurant in Minnesota for years and after going again tonight, my love for Alma has been reaffirmed. The menu is pricey, but if you value truly excellent food, it's worth every penny.

Wow, blown away at every course. The three course menus made it easy to decide and was the perfect meal. Not one of our party of for had a bad bite. They are perennial "best of" mentions for good reason!!
Sandie Johnson
Expensive for the quality of food, husband had crab pieces in his app, the steak was on the lower end of quality. The service was awesome. The in house chai and homemade ricotta was excellent

One of the nicest coffee shop just across river Mississippi and 5 min drive from downtown. Their coffee is great with super nice and cool ambience! Will definitely recommend as nice place to hangout and chill!

In an attempt to make up for a clear lack in ingenuity, robust, pallet-protruding flavors & approach to what is referenced as "healthy" cuisine, Alma dresses their restaurant in the finest of distracting visual appeals. Though the menu is changed seasonally, extraneously experimental & very unique, their choices & execution are an overall 3 out of 5 at best, and the ambience of any room, nor due diligence of the staff could possibly make up for that. Preparing a successful meal is far more than throwing a stick of butter into a pan, and adorning the plate with chromatic culinary fantasies. However, the pricing is lower than you'll find at any restaurant taunting such class & sophistication. So, if you're gallivanting about town with a woman or man who doesn't know better, and you're on a somewhat limited budget (3-course a la carte meal for $52), impress them with this place instantly.

It was AhMazzzzing! Food was delicious and portion size left us feeling not overly full. The staff was gracious, helpful even though we didn't get a seat in doors they were kind enough to check on us during a busy evening. Cool Christine and Puxatawney Phil were our favorites.
Thank you so much for a delicious and memorable meal.

typing on phone, excuse the grammar.
overall we enjoyed our meal but given the price, the ratings/reviews and the expectations, the experience was quite underwhelming. bachelor farmer or heyday outdo this one. pros /cons below
+service was great
+lamb confit was great, nice contrasts between the two styles. did request the breast to be medium rare though and it came out medium.
+squash sformato was awesome, nice layered flavors across that plate.
-tables were way too close to each other. server struggled to speak to them without their ass on our table
- i get that it’s a 3 course menu and they’re small plates but these serving sizes were small
- nougat dessert was average. would rather stop by milkjam or lala on the way home.
- pasta fusilli had an amazing sauce but was over cooked.
-salmon tartare was good but very sweet. almost fruit salsa sweet

My wife and I are down to cities for our anniversary and found Alma on Google. What an incredible find! Absolutely delightful meal that had some of the most amazing flavors we have ever experienced. My wife had spring bean salad, lamb curry, and duck two ways. I had yellowfin, spaghetti with egg, and sturgeon. Everything was mouthwateringly good. And our server figured out how to get us fresh mint hot tea - our new favorite drink. Very highly recommended!
James Trent
Excellent seasonal choices, very bold flavors. I couldn't believe how they could serve lemon four different ways in one desert and still have each component be just as good as the last (lemon tea cake, crunchy merengue, sorbet, caramel cluster).

Stayed in their boutique hotel in a beautiful simple room. Breakfast of coffee and pastries was outstanding. Asparagus and ricotta on puffed pastry. Plum pastry. Delicious. Any traveler would do well to visit, eat, and stay at Alma.
Vincent Bernet
The fried cauliflower was amazing. Though it has jalapeno peppers, it was not hot. They do a thorough job of seeding the peppers. The Sorghum Old Fashioned was also excellent.
Nick Morison
Great happy hour 7 days a week at the cafe. Get a beer or fancy cocktail if that's your thing and enjoy some apps. Grab a loaf of bread for at home because those are delicious and on sale during happy hour too.
Tom Wachman
Things have changed, rather self service. Food choices were limited, but our food and drink were great. Service was different but the restaurant staff were great.
Katie
Breakfast sandwiches are great! The potatoes that come on the side are super crispy and well seasoned. The veggie biscuit option is perfect for someone who doesn't eat pork.
Morgan Gruna
On the higher end, but very good food
Dustin Collicott
Literally everything here tasted great. Excellent wine pairings to complete each course. Our sever Laurie was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt.
Peggy Juergens
A little pricy (but what isn't these days). Tomato soup was delicious. Guess it's a boutique hotel as well
Nick Kirby
Went for brunch with my wife and a friend. I got the charcuterie platter (for myself). It was bomb. The real selling point was the bread. Make sure you grab something from the bakery on your way out.
The other two in my party were also impressed with their meals. The bloody mary was alright. Nothing to write home about, but it did in a pinch.
Jamie Koehler
A neighborhood gem! Best coffee and pastries around! Breakfast sandwiches are amazing, as are their burgers and fine dining. Seriously one of the best restaurants in Minneapolis!
Melinda Neville
Oh my... where to start? Impeccable service, inventive fare both at the bar and in the restaurant, pleasant dining environment that was busy but didn't feel crowded or noisy... While expensive, we will happily save up our funds to visit Alma again. Absolutely do the wine pairing with dinner- they know what they're doing!
Christina Morgan
Beautiful space. Don't get the quiche unless you already ate. The portions seemed fine for the people I was with, who all got something other than the quiche. The carrot juice mimosa is a must-try.
Riley Morrison
We had a nice lunch here. Delicious meals, prepared so tasty that you can't resist them. I was truly impressed by the amazing service. Professional and so polite. Recommend it!
Brent Carlson
Very good but not great food, although the rabbit rillettes was quite rich and flavorful. If Zagat allowed half-point ratings I'd give Alma a 2.5 on the food front. The decor/atmosphere is stylish in a low key way and the waitstaff is well trained. A bit pricy for what you get in my opinion, but certainly one of the better restaurants in Minneapolis.
Michael Mosley
Here I am again. Olives and Parmesan( their starter freebie) oesetra caviar and potato chips....Soft cooked egg ; Yukon gold purée, leeks and truffle vinaigrette...duck liver pate, bacon lardons and poached apricots...12 hour braised beef, charred Chile purée and marinated fennel. A friend and I recently dined at Cafe Alma (distinct from Restaurant Alma). Delicious salmon and house-made rigatoni (pasta included). The best part of the evening though was the service. Our server Emily was professional / hipster, knowledgeable about the food and very proud of the Cafe and all it offers. I'd recommend Cafe Alma and asking to be served by Emily.
Anirudh Kakanavaram
We were celebrating my kid and my Birthday together, as always food and service was outstanding, we had to reschedule couple of times but special call out to Hannah who accommodated our schedule.
Betty Harris
A few of my foodie friends have yawned lately at their latest SaS experiences and I was worried I missed out on the brightest moment of the darling of the local Twin Cities restaurant scene. We snagged a Tuesday night reservation with only 2 weeks notice, which added to my initial anxiety (Gavin's new restaurant is already booked two months...
Tom Hryhorysak
Wonderful classy casual dining with superb food prepared. Speciality is duck but they did not disappoint with any of our selections. Even purchased a gift card for our daughter so she could try it!
Perry Senjem
Stayed overnight in the hotel too. All amazing experiences. Terrific design and comfort in our room. Definitely recommend and will do again.

first off walking in the the door just sitting down is super confusing. sat in the wrong spot and some lady directed us to sit at a dirty counter, asked her to clean it she had an attitude. had an egg sandwitch the egg was way too under cooked, asked for my sandwith without meat and the gentleman at the counter said i couldnt have it but the kitchen staff, came out to correct him saying that i could have it. he was not very knowledgable, first and last time hear. also they ran out of coffee cups i had to drink my late out of a plastic cup
JoyGenea Furnstahl
Lamb burger was the best ever, added the bean salad and it made a great lunch. The atmosphere was really good for conversation. I can't wait to eat here again.
Pedro Tanure
Amazing dinner experience. One of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities!
Nick Hubers
Alma's food is incredible. Everything was perfectly prepared. The wine pairing went well with every food serving.
Caitlin Zatroch
Always an impressive dinner and great service. We go every year on our anniversary and other special occasions and the staff are wonderful every time.
Karen Wang
Small-ish restaurant on University. They have a seasonal menu, three courses for $52. The serving sizes are decent and we were very full by the end.
M got the Rabbit Salad, Lamb Naan, and Duck Two Ways. I got the Pickled Shrimp, Bok Choy Fritters, and Halibut. We added a Chocolate Mousse to share.
M said the duck was his favorite of the night, but enjoyed everything. I also enjoyed everything that I ordered.
Would come again on a special occasion, but it's too pricey to be a go-to restaurant.
Street parking only.
Tamella H
Minneapolis is getting more and more places with a very cute ambiance and very good food. I really love this place. They have great selection and you order your food right at the counter which makes the process a bit faster.
Danny Chahla
The food was wonderful and our waitress was very knowledgeable about which bottle of wine would go well with our meal. A small mistake was made with our meal and management went above and beyond to our situation. You're not buying a meal, you're buying an experience.
D Barlow
Love the atmosphere. Love the food. Top notch friendly staff. Best baked goods in town! Great Happy Hour!
Tom Kachelmacher
Best restaurant in Mpls. Always great service. Always great food.
Hassan Daoud
The Lamb burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. I've had many Lamb burgers and come from a culture where lamb is used in many dishes and this burger competes with some of the best lamb barbecues I've had back home. A MUST!
Oliver Barbeau
Always fun and creative dishes, intricate yet simply delicious. Great wine doesn't hurt.
Altangerel Sainbayar
I think i could call this hybrid restaurant where you can eat vegan food and meat. Restaurant's interior design is awesome, comfortable. Love the people who work there.
William Schultz
I've only eaten at the cafe, never the restaurant, but it is my favorite breakfast spot in Minneapolis. This is one of those restaurants where I do not detour away from my order of their breakfast sandwich and their brioche french toast. Quick, quaint.
Michael Romens
Simply the best bakery. A million perfect details from breakfast to late night. I could live at Restaurant Alma. You'll find ingredients which won't be found elsewhere prepared by happy superstar chefs.
Joe Rutkiewicz
After a long day of work, coming to the inviting environment of Alma is just what the doctor ordered. Incredible cocktails paired with the exposed brick welcomes all walks of life for a night you won't forget. Friends will be impressed with your high class taste, yet affordable choi
Alex Beck
Great restaurant! Everything they brought out was top notch. The server had lots of great recommendations too which helped us narrow down our choices.
caira iseminger
We tried the vegan tasting menu. Every course was extravagant and paired wonderfully with a wine. Would highly recommend and will go again for a different seasonal tasting menu.
Lauren Lathrop
Excellent place for a late afternoon snack. Cheese plate and a cocktail was absolutely perfect. Warm and friendly staff. A nice treat.
Kari L
My favorite local coffee shop. I love their cappuccinos and gluten-free pastries. Great spot for food too with lots of sharing plates (and tasty alcoholic beverages).
Chris Coughliny
Unique dining experience! We loved the food presentation and of course the flavors!
Nate Wilson (Organic Squirrel)
So far have only been in for a latte and pastry (banana bread). Nice atmosphere (exposed brick, modern asthetic), with decent service and pricing. Definitely one of the highlights of NE side of the river.
Jackie West
My husband and I hadn't been to a fine dining restaurant for a long time due to Covid19. The food and atmosphere were great. It was just what we need!
Blair Graham
Easily my favorite restaurant in the twin cities! Consistently excellent and never pretentious
Monica Jones
Clean rooms, great contactless/safe check-in/check-out procedures, breakfast was amazing, and the service was impeccable. I would definitely stay here again for a staycation in the city!
D H
Service was consistent and top notch. Food was consistently well made and cleanly executed. Highly recommend the Hamachi starter, duck 2 ways 3rd course, and Mille fouille with pear sorbet
elisabeth oh
suburb service and really creative menu. i’m not an exploratory taster but the pot roast was so rich and well cooked. five stars, especially for the service!
Michael Kosir
By far, THE best restaurant in the Twin Cities. Chef Roberts keeps things fresh in the new Alma Cafe, and the Restaurant post-makeover has some great new surprises. Keep it up, Team Alma!
Song Yang
Wonderful experience, along with perfectionist of guest service from our waiter. Making sure our needs were met to the fullest, Would HIGHLY recommend to go there your first time, or repeatedly. :) !!
Katie Kath
Best of the best! Thankful for this Alma's 20 year and going commitment to our community. We're always impressed and expectations are exceeded with every visit. Minneapolis is lucky to have you Alma.
usagikyuketsuki
The food was great, but I didn't care for two of the wines in the pairing and for the price no offer to substitute anything else was slightly disappointing.
Mohamed Shaaban
Perfect.
Great wine selection, amazing food.
Excellent service.
Definitely recommend.
geoffrey van Dover
Food was really good, albeit small portions. Coffee is not the most amazing but quite decent. Atmosphere is that of a restaurant
Val Pat Basten
Delicious food at reasonable prices in the cafe side. I also loved that the menu specified whether it was gluten-free or had a gluten-free option and most things were
Jeremy Coleman
Chimborazo is a local restaurant with excellent service staff and wonderful food. Three of dinned there one night and each had a different entry. Each and every one on the plates were excellent. Can't wait to go back.
Travis Totz
Turkey burger is out of this world. Sure the place is a little pretentious, but the food and drink is amazing. Go there for the deliciousness, don’t go expecting the most amazing service or super kind wait staff.
Melissa Clark
Well, this might all be skewed because we were literally seated in THE back corner but...service took forever and was sort of rude, and our drinks and entrees seemed to be forgotten about so food was overcooked (e.g., mushy pasta, mouth destroying bread, etc.). Bummer because we loved Restaurant Alma and wanted it to be just as great.
Mea Clift
Took a little too long for food to come out, but it was delicious, along with the cocktails. Many flavors I never would have expected to go together and yet they were phenomenal.
brian davis
This review is post renovation. Five starts before and I've only returned once since the reopening. I was present for the day menu. I have faith that life at Alma will return to its initial bliss, I just can't say it was perfect. I look forward to returning:)
Helena C
Overrated. Fried quail was dry and bland. Batter was hard, not crispy. Same with the onion rings. Fried cauliflower had too much aioli on the plate. Mushroom and asparagus tartine was ok, but nothing special.
Ryan Evanson
Was here for a coffee meeting and enjoyed the ambiance and drinks. I didn't try any of the food, but can say it is a great place for drinks coffee, whether for business or social
Ethan Stein
Had lunch there at the Cafe, it was a really nice meal. They had a great seasonable salad, the sandwiches were delicious and lots of good options for breakfast/brunch/lunch.
Andrew Meggs
SO CUTE. This place is perfect for a date night. The cheese tray is a MUST. Trust me, it'll change your life. The drink menu is great too.
Brian Blodgett
Did the chefs 5 course tasting. Was excellent, nice small portions of many different items, wine pair with tasting was solid.
Tristian Bangert
The atmosphere was great for date night and the prices were incredibly affordable. Great eating, delicious food, and excellent drinks. Highly recommend.
Mark Hortman
The pastas were fresh and delicious. The menu made it hard to decide what to get. The cocktails were original and done very well.
Natalie King
The food had amazing flavor, was fresh, and they had great service! Agree - go with a group of 4 then you can try everything! A must try! My new favorite spot! WOW!
Rick Delmonico
Braved a blizzard for a super good meal!
John Syverud
Fabulous food, superlative service, but due to their 20th anniversary celebration, several desired menu items and wine selections were limited our unavailable.
Elizabeth Stephan
Fantastic evening, amazing service, and wonderful food!
Robin Edgerton
Love the food. Food flavor combinations and pairings exceptional. Presented artistically. Atmosphere urban chic. Choose this for special occasions.
Kevin D. Wright
One of my all time favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities! I always bring my consultants to the restaurant for dinner! 5 course wine pairing is OHmazing!
Manju Parikh
We went to the Cafe for brunch. The food was okay, a bit pricey. The server didn't seem happy to be working on Christmas Eve. Didn't smile even once.
mary davis Racciatti
The seasonal menu is creative and sublime and never disappoints. Wine advice from James always hits the mark. We think our favorite place will be yours, toom
Natalie Chavez
Waitstaff and food are excellent ! Really hip crowd and great atmosphere...the food and drink pricing is reasonable and won't leave you broke...lol...I plan on visiting often when I am downtown Minneapolis for sure.
Mariana Hernandez
It was amazing the dinner perfect and the dessert great... At little expensive..
But backstage is to much for to do.
And not everybody knows...
👏👏👏 for alls the chef's..
Emma Marie Thomas
So cute, so good. Needed a quality coffee and they nailed it.
Drake Friesen
Really loved the coffee and pastry from here! Easy free street parking all around it too.
