We stopped by since we were hungry for lunch and it was close. This place was a great option with a decent variety on the menu. The club sandwich was really good and the fries were exactly like I like them. Decent beer selection and our server was great. The bar had a nice neighborhood bar feel to it, which was an added bonus if you’re just looking to stop in for a drink.

Good variety of American food options. Service and food were good. They had a sizable outdoor dining area, sit down space and bar seating so good for every diner. I ordered the barbecue chicken salad and it was a hearty portion and the barbecue sauce was fantastic. Good atmosphere for business or personal meal.

Delicious. My family ate here on July 14 (and they ate here without me on July 13...came back because of the food!). I had the French Toast for dinner (see picture) It was incredible. Son had the pizza which was fine. Daughter had the chicken parm sandwich which was great and hubby devoured the Chicken Biscuits with gravy. They were having issues with the beer lines. The night before hubby ended up with a warm Bud Light so they comped it. This time we had some ice cold Michelob Ultra cans since many beers weren't available due to the line issues. Appreciated the waiter's heads up on that the 2nd night. Would return!

The food selection was great. The Patti melt was juicy and the bread was toasted to perfection. I liked that I had the option of fries, onion rings or cottage cheese. Courteous and attentive staff.

Huge portions and good food. A nice variety. Ate there twice. 1st time service was suspect and I was served a warm beer...and then told that I didn't ask for a cold glass...to which I replied, the beer was warm, dodnt matter the temperature of the glass...night 2, we couldn't get draft beer, because they were having problems with keeping it cold...so it wasn't the glass...better service night two. A bit pricey, but the portions are big. Maybe drinks and share a meal?

This was close to our hotel and we ate there 2 nights. Decent menu, the booth we sat in first night was tight for a family of 4. Second night was roomier. Good service, good food. We did call to see if we needed a reservation….guy said no but when we arrived they said it would be a 25 minute wait. This was annoying but the seated us after about 15 minutes.

Went with a party that had a reservation. We were seated quickly but waited 15-20 minutes before our drink orders were taken whichtook us asking for our server. After our orders were taken the food came out quick and was great. Would be 5 star's if not for the wait.

This place is so chill and relaxed. Great music, food and a friendly staff. After being seated you just feel like you are home. The manager stopped by our table just to see how we were doing and we had a wonderful conversation. We really felt at home. Plenty of televisions to watch a variety of sports on. The music was fun and relaxed. The food is excellent! Not what I was expecting from bar food. The spicy chicken sandwich is jam packed with flavor and the turkey club is HUGE! The fries and onion rings though! Those fries and onion rings are so crispy and flavourful. They far exceeded my expectations for bar food. I really enjoyed our visit and this will probably be our home bar from now on.

8/4/19 update: back for dinner, i had the Cobb salad with chicken. Very good and still good portion size. Friendly bartender and great beer! Thanks again. (7/2017) I went for lunch, I had the SW salad, good and a good portion size. Lots of beers on tap. Good prices, friendly service. Will return!

Great food. Grilled chicken sandwich was awesome and the pretzel bites were some of the best, if not, THE best I've had in Minneapolis. The cheese compliments the bites very well and so good, I had to order another for the road.

As one of the few places open in downrown Minneapolis, I can say that they have kept up the quality. It's still a great place to have a snack and a few drinks and good service to boot. Update 4/23 is still the same old place. Good bar food, great drinks, and friendly bartenders. 6/11/22: Still a great place for food and drinks but much busier which is great to see. Long line for tables at lunch on a Saturday. We found two seats at the bar quickly and ordered food and drinks. As busy as it was the bartender amazingly took care of everyone quickly with a smile! Great job! Update 9/24: A totally unpretentious genuine great local hang out. We have never had a bad experience here. Good food, great drinks and wonderful and friendly staff. I'm going up a star here, as much as I don't give many places five stars, this is one of the exceptions.

Stopped by this place on my way to the airport. Glad I did. Ordered wings and fries with extra dry rub and they did not disappoint. The wings were some fat babies. None of those little nubbins you get at some places.. My server Isaiah was a boss. Stop by again and ask for him specifically whenever I get downtown again.

Going away party for a co-worker, so there were about 10 or so of us. Our server was non-intrusive and very polite. He was also personable and his manner was welcoming. The floors & table were clean. It was just a good place to meet up. Plus their beer selection is reasonably priced.

Absolutely phenomenal staff. We ordered our food on the patio. We were harassed and threatened by a local while we waited for our food. The Hostess and waiter came out and stood up for us immediately. They made us feel safe and welcomed while dealing with this unfortunate situation. We ended up eating inside and had very good food. We ordered burgers and fries. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

My waffle fries 🍟were cold and they were not crispy. My turkey sandwich🥪 just was OK. it looked better than it tasted. The Cesar salad 🥗wasn't that great either . I don't think my wait Staff was friendly enough. The place is very nice inside. I would give it another try a different day but It didn't completely win me over this time.

I’ve enjoyed the food and service each time I’ve been here. The last time I was here the bar tender went above and beyond when I realized my car was getting towed. I ran outside and the tow truck driver said he would only leave the car if I could get him $20 cash. I didn’t have cash so I ran back inside and the bar tender spotted me the cash which saved me a huge headache and a lot more money getting my car out of impound. I was super impressed with the kindness they showed a stranger and was happy to pay him back and then some with a big tip!

I enjoyed this restaurant, classic American fair. The chicken wild rice soup was amazing and perfect for a cold day, but as a warning to those with dairy intolerance it is cream based. The chicken stir fry was also enjoyable, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was sweet and tangy. The atmosphere was nice, clean and ample TVs for watching a game. They even had popcorn for a nice buttery salty bar snack.

Buffalo wings. A taste of the old Market BBQ on Nicollet Ave, 1402 I think. Order plain with seasoning for the old taste. I think they do it. Manager directed. Good scene. A mix of others that pronounce the dominate spell. Bad Coors light on tap. Try the perfume of Bud Light. Plenty on tap. No pint of Guinness beer for lovers of it. A new oat Summit with a nitro line added for flavor and yawning. Expect a price hike even for this place downtown. See you again.

We came here with our group of 50 for our Team dinner during the USA Taekwondo Nationals. We ordered burgers and the burger was surprisingly delicious! The fries and the coleslaw were very tasty, we were very satisfied. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Everybody seems to be enjoying their meal and no complains so far. We will be back!

The food was great with generous portions, we had to take a lot home in a box. They have a good selection of beers though i didn't get to try too many! Service was attentive and quick. We went for dinner and there was really no wait we were seated immediately then again it was a weeknight and an early dinner during happy hour. I would say they are a bit pricer than other similar places but considering everything it's worth it.

I've never been disappointed when visiting this bar. Great staff, excellent food and not just your regular bar food. The Cajun pasta is fantastic. Also has a pretty good beer selection. Good place for starting your night out or catching the sporting event of your choice. I always make sure to visit at least once whenever I'm in town.

All the stars are for the great service, I get every visit. Every host/hostess, server, bartender, food runner, busboy, all have been very friendly and attentive. Food and drinks are decent. They have outdoor seating, which is a curse and a blessing, being downtown. I keep going back due to the location and exceptionally cool staff.

Downtown pub with amazing food and a friendly staff. They are considered a packer bar so expect to see packer jerseys on game day. The pretzel bites and cheese curds are delicious. Plus the portion sizes are enormous. I will definitely be coming back.

The food here is good but way overpriced for what you get. 28 bucks for a sandwich, side and beer? Not worth it in my opinion. The turkey melt was tasty, but probably overkill with the ranch inside it. Made the bread soggy.

Have had too many good times with friends at this bar not to give it a 4-star. They have outdoor seating, nothing fancy, if you're hoping for that. And I have found the waitstaff to be friendly and attentive. The beer selection will definitely have you stopping a second time if you're ever in the area.

My husband and I love to visit the 8th Street Grill when in Minneapolis. We have never had a bad experience there. The service is always great. The server's are very knowledgeable on the drink and food menu and are great with giving guidance if needed. They also have an outdoor patio for the warmer months which is nice. Great happy hour drink specials.

Unable to find anything to eat at lunch time in COVID time in Minneapolis. This little eating place is good with fresh salad and hearty burgers. This is a lot more than the typical franchise restaraunt/bar grill. Everything we ordered was simply very good. The Mac & Cheese was adult style and definitely made fresh. The Chicken and Rice soup was the best we ever had...better than Mom's! The food was great and the service was perfect...very attentive but not overly friendly and take away from our conversations. In fact, I noticed that our waiter slowed down by our table to ask for water refills but he saw that we were talking. He served another table and then came back when we were not talking. This is not a gourmet restaraunt but close enough to say gourmet Bar and Grill!

First, you can never go wrong with ANY of their soups. Best chicken wild rice in the city! Being from the south, I always feel a "southern hospitality " when I'm here. Burgers are great and I love that Happy Hour is 4 hours. Definitely hard to find downtown. I highly recommend a stop in.

This is a hard review to make. We we sent here from our hotel, bar was closing, and it was a busy concert night. That said, we watched tables around us, seated after gets drinks and food while we waited on drinks. We were going to order food, but gave up, after 30 minutes wait to get our drinks the waiter asked if we wanted to order food, when we said no, it seems pretty busy. His reply, yeah, it's really backed up. We WATCHED other people getting food that were seated after, atleast 4 tables. We went elsewhere for food. That said, my chocolate Martini was awesome!

Food was decent but the items seemed like they were frozen. The burger was verrrryyy thin, over cooked and was honestly worse than a mcdonalds patty. The wine, and fries and apps were ok, margaritas were really weak. Server was friendly. Might stop if I was in the area, but definitely wouldn't go out of my way.

Service was prompt and attentive. Never had to request more water. The burger I had for lunch was very good. I ordered the smokehouse burger which came with onion straws, a burger, roast beef and bacon. A little messy but worth it!

Was a cool place. We were seated right away, and that was during the Superbowl. Drinks I think were pricey $9 for a beer. The food was good we only got appetizers even that was expensive. Overall it was a good place just pricey wheb there are many other places to choose from. I would go back if someone else wanted to go, but i wouldnt myself make it a point to go there.

Really disappointed when the restaurant we were headed to had an HOUR wait. On the way back we came across 8th Street Grill and Tavern. We waited for the host and were seated immediately! We lucked out and got in a more quiet section. Our server was attentive of our needs and the pizza and drinks were amazing!! Great selection of local beers.

Variety of lunch and dinner menu choices. Apps, soup & salads, burgers, pizza, fish entrees, main courses, dessert. Weekend early breakfast foods. Moderately priced, happy hour, drink specials. Lots and lots of tap beer choices. Large patio. Today I had their smokehouse burger, beef, pulled pork, crispy bacon, cheese, onion straws, lettuce, tomato, red onion, BBQ sauce. Super good.

After reading the 1star review below, we almost passed on this place. Super glad we decided to not let one bad review ruin our plans. Our server was Jimmy and he was super! Our waiter wasn't very nice. My appetizer was cold on the inside from the deep fryer. I purposely counted how many there were and of course they just threw the same ones back in the deep fryer minus the one I cut open.

We went here to watch a Sunday night football game. They were super accommodating for our group, and everyone was able to see the game. Great place to catch sports on TV. Food was great, service was quick, and the drink menu had a great selection.

Been here many times for happy hour. Never had an issue with being seated. Always get the waffle fries. Probably the best things ever. Few times I have had an actual meal, have never had a complaint.

My kinda place, average everything and nothing too presumptuous. Cold beer on tap and hot food ready to order. Relatively affordable too for being a place that is right in the downtown area. Lots of hightop seating if that's to your liking, otherwise get a spot on the rail at the bar!

Great Sports Bar in downtown Mpls. My wife and I visit at least twice a month. Especially on the weekends because its happy hour all day long. I like the taphouse burger and my wife loves the southwest salad! Cold beer and great service! Can't go wrong!

One of our favorite places in downtown. The happy hour lasts until 7PM and the food is amazing for the price (downtown prices that is). We usually go there a couple nights a week after work for drinks and definitely for dinner before hitting the warehouse district on the weekends! Plus, it's a Packer bar so you don't have to deal with those annoying Vikings fans on Sundays!

Interesting that a Wisconsin based spot in downtown Minneapolis is so popular (especially with all the Packers gear everywhere). Burgers are filling and I definitely recommend the cheese curds. Good local beer selection. Great place to have a classic American style meal and an ice cold beer!

This place was surprisingly delicious. Their wings were on point, and that reuben...Jesus H. Christ was their reuben good. I was shocked. The server was really great and checked up on us without being too pushy, the menu was full of good American food, the seats were comfy....No complaints! I would definitely recommend this place, if only for the reuben. Seriously you gotta try it.

I've heard legend of the good strong drinks at this classy casual bar and restaurant. However, I came to appreciate their tap selection, and knowlegable staff. The food though, that's what kept me coming back. I've tried Rueben sandwiches from the east coast to the west coast. The 8th Street Grill has on of the top 5 Ruebens I've ever tried. 5 stars for the staff, the taps, and the grill!

Cajun pasta is the best which everyone should try. It's dilicious and flavorful. We get with only veggies too incase someone is a vegetarian. French fries is awesome. Crisp in the outer and soft inside with tinge of salt sprinkled over it.

Good happy hour spot with 43 beers on tap as of Feb. 2020 and $1 off beers during HH. Apps were all very good, especially the waffle fries and chicken strips.
