Very nice atmosphere. Excellent service as well. I found the food to be a bit underwhelming. The flank steak was very tough, the presentation was less than impressive. The hamburger was not as gourmet as one would expect for the price. More bread than beef and the cook on the meat was not as ordered. Unfortunately this was an average pub style burger at best. The salmon salad, however, was excellent. This dish impressed in every way - the fish was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were fresh, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. The presentation was spot on. The prices are high - rates indicative of a fine dining experience. For me, this was average. I simply feel I could’ve had a better experience at another restaurant for a fraction of the cost.

Outdoor patio seating at season’s end made for a cool evening, but the extensive drink menu is more than capable of warding off the chills. We tried the salmon and the shrimp curry. The former was on the sweeter side but still savory enough as an entree, though it may curb a sweet tooth desire for dessert thereafter. The shrimp curry was fantastic - each bite built the heat without masking the underlying flavors. Service was fair enough for the level of patrons. Food presentation is excellent.

I really wish I could give it 4.5 stars, because I do like this place and have been a few times. This is the first time I have had their bacon & bourbon and I must say I was not impressed, it was bland! If I was to give them a suggestion they should put a maple or cherry glaze on it. They had a special with swordfish and overcooked it so it was dry, which is easy to do. The flavors were at least good. The scallops, tartare and drinks were great! Service was good but food came slow, it took about 20 min after ordering our apps before they came out.

Totally enjoyed our visit to 6smith. Sat outside beneath the sun shielding umbrellas. It remained bright and sunny, while keeping the direct beat down from the sun off of us. My gal loved her salad, and the fries were great too. I had the scallop appetizer which was just okay (imho). Still, totally gets a recommendation

This place has absolutely amazing food. Coming fresh out the farm in ND I sure felt out of place but the food was amazing and the drinks were strong. The bottle of wine pictured was an amazing accompaniment to the blue cheese crust steak that was had. The steak tare tare was to die for and the bread was delicious. The 50 shades of chocolate cake was massive and well worth the price. It was moist and flavorful!

PERFECT place to try many dishes packed with well blended exotic flavors. Gorgeous drinks, great happiness hour! Servers are smiling and seem to float on air. Make a reservation, it's so much fun. Expect a cool crowd. Enjoy! Pork shank~~,BRAVO!

Calamari, tamarind beef, muscles, white wine and water lily martini. Portions are on the generous size. The Calamari is a different approach, came with some greens and is very refreshing. The mussel dish is light and delicious, the broth and greens aids in the flavors without distractions. Tamarind beef is also good and very tender. Everything was spot on and and flavors are superb.

Some of the best seafood we have had. The mussel special, sea bass and scallops were spot on. Each dish was very well cooked and the flavors were balanced. The drinks were strong and delicious. We absolutely recommend them and will be returning

Great experience at six Smith, our server was fantastic. Highly recommend the “Bread is life” baguette! The scallops were very good, but the Seabass was a little dry. Overall we would come again to sit on the patio!

First time at 6Smith and it was a great experience! Our server was very friendly and efficient. Everything we had was phenomenal. The brussels sprouts, roasted cauliflower, and chocolate cake were top notch! Order a side of ice cream for the cake and make sure to have a few friends with you :)

Great outdoor atmosphere by the lakeside. Attentive and warm/welcome service. Airy crisp Calamari with very light pickle carrot/peppers. French fries are crispy outside, soft inside with 3 dipping sauce. Salmon was Juicy. Tender, sweet, juicy perfectly cooked aged prime rib. Great seasoning Short rib w/Pickle mango salad &The sourness goes well w/the short rib . Toasted baguette was okay , but flavorful ,soaked all the juice and the hanger steak was good. Great drinks Huge portion of 50 shades of chocolate was moist with balance sweetness. Eggy, light Flan w/ silky smooth texture ends the night perfectly. Can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful views and a great server. He made great recommendations on food and drinks. Food was lovely. Calamari was 🔥 and the seabass exquisite. The pineapple drink was good, it was fruity but not sugary. I would definitely go again!

Upscale steakhouse/bar. Atmosphere, service, and food were on point. Pricey, but worth it. Fair warning, the bar area does get a little loud on a Friday night, as one would expect. We started with a plethora of small plates. The 'bread is life' was the star of meal, in my opinion. The bread itself is tasty, but add on 3 different delectable spreads the table thoroughly enjoyed. The wings were a little overcooked as the bones were brittle and the meat a tad dry, but they were still crispy and super flavorful. The shrimp chimichurri was tasty, but for the price, I'd skip this one in future. The ribs were not fall off the bone tender, but the flavorful sauce and pork made up for it. I dug this dish for its smokey flavor. The beef cheek nachos were excellent, however I would request they not skimp on the beef cheek, as that super tender meaty goodness really is the mvp of that dish. For an entree I had the Fat Burger and fries. The burger was great! Tasty, juicy, and not too greasy. But those fries and that truffle aioli dip...ugh so good. Overall this place exceeded expectations, but is a bit pricey.

Nice restaurant...it is a little bit of a drive from where we live but boy was it worth it. They have a Sunday brunch but it is not like a buffett style. We got soooo much food. We got the steak and eggs...the venison and kobe juicy Lucy. We also got the 5 spice French toast and monkey bread. All the choices were excellent...and the service was great too. Our server was laura she was awesome.the one thing that was weird was was the bathrooms ..there were very small for the size of the restaurant. Other than that go check it out you will love it.

We went on a couples date and started off the night with a couple signature drinks and a couple appetizers. The drinks were well balanced well crafted. The two appetizers were the shrimp chimichurri and tuna poke. Both tasted so fresh and the perfect portion. For my main dish I ordered the New York strip with onions and mushrooms. My date got the Lobster Gnocci. Our friends got the jump scallops and the Brick pressed bell and evens chicken. My steak was over cooked but still tasted very good. Everyone else's dinners were cooked perfectly. For dessert we all shared 50 shades of chocolate and the key lime pie. Each piece was about the size of a full cake or pie 😳 They were very rich but very good. Everything was very good and the atmosphere was perfect for a fine dinner.

Food was good. Had the Wellington (pretty good) and the tuna app (really good) with beef cheek nachos (just ok). The guacamole was average. The dessert was pretty good too but really strong and tart. Would definitely go back. Actually have had their brunch too and it was definitely really good.

Very crowded and overrated restaurant. The outside balcony was full with bugging flyes. The indoor restaurant was over the top noisy. Slow service. Food is good but for this high ptice I would expect better experience.

Our first time at 6Smith was a truely wonderful experience. From where we were seated by the bar to our server, Jen, everything was perfect. We started with the Bread is Life appetizer, which is to die for. Of course we each had to try a drink from the lunch menu, so we tried the Brooklyn Bonfire and the Blueberry Yum Yum. So good! Then we each ordered an entree. The Steak and Frites and the Chicken Sandwich. Everything we ate was elevated and delicious. While we enjoyed our entree, we learned that there is a pastry chef and tried the spectacular Flan to finish the experience! At every step, we were surprised by how amazing each menu item is and were so happy with our service. We spent about $55 per person, plus the tip. But without trying every course it would have been lower, closer to $40 per person. Definitely recommending to everyone I know and I will be back with friends.

Good burger, side salad had a tarragon vinegrette that should be bottled and sold. Wedge was great, crab roll was huge and delicious. The chocolate cake slice is insane. 5 of us, and we couldn’t even eat half of it.

We had appetizers and drinks, very well done, flavors were really good, the bread is love was great, altho the chimiichurri was oily and didnt have alot of herbs over all it was good. The mac cheese was good the caesar salad was spot on thebroasted califlower was delicious and the drinks were made very well. Altho we dont have a tase for oysters i I recommend this spot highly.

I have only ever gone here for drinks and appetizers but they have been phenomenal in that department. Their mix drinks are amazing and I have yet to order a drink I have not liked. Also their calamari is great! I have gone to several other restaurants in the same caliber and 6smith has by far the best calamari of them all. The only downside I have had here is they had some seasonal oysters at one time and they were not very good at all. They did not taste very fresh and the texture was starting to become rubbery. Otherwise this is a great restaurant!

I've been to 6smith quite a bit and usually have a good experience. The service is good, the ambience is great, and most of the menu items are above average. Bacon and Bourbon - 2/5 (tasteless) Calamari - 5/5 (amazing) Bread is Life - 3/5 (just bread, nothing special) Hanger Steak Chumchurri - 4/5 Miso Marinated Seabass - 4/5 (flavour is 5/5 but Portion size is small, bringing the rating down) Pan Seared Organic Atlantic Salmon 3.5/5 (nothing super special) Brick Pressed Bell and Evans Chicken - 3/5 (I have been with multiple people who have gotten this and the chicken is usually dry) Triple Dip French Fries 3.5/5

First time and I wasn’t disappointed. Visited for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The Poms Away was fun and refreshing. The 3 varieties of east coast oysters were delicious. I also tried the Shrimp Chimichurri and Seasonal Vegetable salad. All were perfect for a hot summer day. I would get them all again.

I went here for my twenty-first birthday. It was such a great experience, from the food to the service. It seemed pretty busy, but our waitress still made it a mission to come and check on us quite frequently. She basically described the whole menu to us in detail and seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say and the questions we asked. The food was absolutely phenomenal and definitely worth the money you spend. The atmosphere was great, and everyone who worked there was so friendly. At the end, our waitress brought me a free piece of cake and even went to far to give me a $15 gift card for my next meal. I definitely will be coming back!

Still love the place, location, view, etc. But wish they would change the menu up. Getting stagnant. And, when they have "specials" more often than not, it is the butter steak. Let's get creative! Went there again tonight and what is their dinner special? Butter steak. When are we going to get a real special? 9/20/21 Took friends there a few weeks ago and loved sitting outside. The patio is the greatest. We enjoyed our night. And, the food was fantastic. However, still stick with earlier comments that they need a menu change up and some real specials. It was butter steak again. We shared the wings and the bacon and bourbon appetizer (which was really nice. Not really bacon, more like pork belly, but still tasty. One friend had the curried shrimp - it was lite and tasty. The other loved the pan seared salmon and finished every bit. My husband had his usual Juicy Lucy burger and I chowed the entire Marinated Flank Steak (it was awesome!). Check out the photos attached.

This was a great experience of a restaurant but you'll pay for it. It was definitely higher class and more expensive but the food was delicious! Everything has handcrafted, fresh, and unique to say the least. Their cocktail and beer selection was impressive as well. We had great service and were taken well care of. Great restaurant for great memories.

Food is good, location is stunning. Service was confusing. Food came late, was cold. Manager stepped in took off part of food from bill. I have never been so confused 😕 in a top restaurant before. There is great potential but... I still wonder what a good Service feels like in this great restaurant. Maybe I will go back just to prove big bird is right that everyone makes mistakes.

I ordered the heirloom tomato salad. It was delicious except what would of made it wayyy better is if the tomatoes got grilled. I asked to have it grill but was denied by the chef. I was very disappointed they can not accommodate to my needs. This was $18 i should be able to ask to warm up my meal. Disappointing. I give this restaurant a 2 and 1 star for the nice lake view.

Its a good place to dine in. We booked the patio 3 weeks in advance but unfortunately because of rain had to sit inside. Nevertheless, it was good. The food, though somewhat on expensive, was really good. Goodluck finding a time earlier than 9 pm. We wud want to go there again but to sit outside in the patio and probably in the evening before 7. Lol. Anyways, overall a good place to talk, eat, drink. And then take a walk by the lake to digest whatever is inside your stomach.

First time here with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The restaurant itself was beautiful and the food was beyond delicious! Our waiter, Sam, was amazing and made sure we were taken care of. We went for a birthday celebration and the restaurant decorated the table, gave the birthday girl a gift card to use during her next visit, and provided a birthday treat. We went during the wintertime, so I cannot wait to go back when it’s summertime and we’ll have a beautiful view of the lake!

We just had a rehearsal/groom's dinner at 6smith and it was beyond fabulous! I don't leave reviews often but I feel I have to because in this day and age great service and food are the exception! The food was amazing, service was very unwelcoming. The hostess Claire had us follow her to the out door seating area, she opened the door and walked straight thru and the door almost slammed on my face, it was a good thing my husband was behind me, she was not even aware of it. Secondly, we were served room temperature water, while everyone else had iced water, we finally had to ask for ice water ( it was a very hot day). Our waitress Amanda did not smile at all, very serious, but I did notice she was talking and smiling with others. It took a long time get our drinks order, our appetizer came before the drinks . Amanda never came back to ask if we need anything else or check in. I normally tip 20-25%, not today .

We had reservations for 8pm and we were seated promptly. The ambiance was great also. Our server was training a new trainer and they were very polite and suggested drinks and food for us since it was our first time there. We got our drinks in a reasonable time but it took a long time to get our food. We didn’t get our food until around 9:20 pm. It was a busy night in there but geesh! Not to mention they ran out of what I came there for….the braised short rib. Also my wife’s chicken was overcooked.

Wanted to go somewhere special with a view and good food for my girlfriend's birthday and this place did not disappoint. The service was good, the food was amazing and the view outside was beautiful too regardless of the lake still being frozen over. I plan on going again soon to get some more calamari and views of the lake.

Love this place. Cozy, great views of the lake, excellent service and good cocktails. Happy hour food is really good. We had the oysters, chicken wings, lobster mac and cheese, and meatball sliders. Each one was perfect. We have been there for brunch. Amazing. I think I ate all the shrimp they served.

We had THE BEST time!! A huge shoutout to our absolutely ASTOUNDING waiter Nate (dubbed “Number 2”) who was comical, engaged in our humor and offered suggestions. He was highly attentive and even payed attention to the type of drinks we were ordering and offered similar taste suggestions. He MADE the experience!!! The atmosphere was relaxed, interior was simple and clean. The menu had some fun titled dishes, some we sampled were “Bread is Life,” which was delicious, and a drink called: “It’s Britney, B****” which was also so good! My second favorite thing about this place is they let you actually engage in conversation and eat you appetizers and digest, I didn’t feel forced to order or pay. Our actual meals were okay, I think for the price we were hoping for a tad… more. When ordering the 8oz filet mignon for $50, that’s literally all you got. Nothing else. No sides. Just the steak. A little silly, I believe. For two steaks, one baked potato, and three drinks, our bill was around $180 for two people before tip.

Seated outside in 59 degree weather and no heaters. Crazy busy and booked up. Service good but food not hot, except the steak. Who serves spoons with pie and cake? Did you run out of forks? Parking lot insane. Given the prices I am reluctant to return.

What an amazing spot to visit in particular, if you have a large group, the food was simply outstanding, although it was in a Buffay setting. I was very impressed with the level of service that was provided given that we were a large group for the evening I highly recommend this restaurant if you were visiting the area.

Chimichurri flank steak • marinated flank steak, smoked paprika chimichurri & mashed potatoes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rare just the way I like my steaks 👌🏽 the mashed potatoes were so creamy, but a slight texture from some chunks of potato 🥔 creamy & delicious! The best mashed potato I’ve ever had (besides the one I make for Thanksgiving lol). As for the steak, perfectly seared & rare just the way I like my steaks. The chimichurri added a nice freshness to the almost smoky tasting flank (I don’t know if there was liquid smoke in the cooking process or if I was just inhaling the smoke from all the jackson manhattans going out). Tender, juicy & fresh flank. Yummmmmy! Steak tartare • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ certified black angus filet, cornichon, capers, pickled relish aioli & of course the baguette 🥖 Certainly a favorite appetizer of mine. There’s a textural elegance with the tartare & the relish & capers add to that delightfulness. This was the first course in my meal selection, & I’d choose it again. 🦪 A dozen of the most delectable oysters ever! Shout out to Isabella!! 2021 $35 Dinner for Open Table’s Restaurant Week Bacon & bourbon | house cured bacon & bourbon soaked cherries with a shot of Old Crow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ not bad. I was expecting the bacon to be more crisp, but it was very good. Naturally salty & slightly sweet from the cherry sauce. My first time trying Bourbon & the smell reminds me of Hennessy Steak tartare | certified black angus filet, cornichon, capers, chives, pickled relish aioli, quail egg & spicy chips ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ holy cow! This is my first time having steak tartare & I don’t know how I haven’t had it yet! 🤤 I broke the quail yolk atop the tartare (as I’d seen in tv shows 😅), mixed it together & scooped everything up on a chip. Perfecto! 👌🏼 the smooth texture of the angus mixed with the creamy yolk goes so well with the crispy chips. You get a burst of slight sourness from the capers, but creaminess from the yolk that calms everything down. The tartare is seasoned perfectly & just amazing! 7oz filet mignon served with béarnaise & I chose brussel sprouts for my side ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ very tender, cooked perfectly rare for me & had that perfect seared crust on the outside. I wasn’t too keen on the little kick the sprouts had from the pepper, but they too were cooked perfectly. There wasn’t much flavor to the mignon, but this is one of those times where the meat is prepared well enough that it didn’t need any seasoning; the sprinkle of flakey salt on it was good enough. As for service, I didn’t catch the name of our server, but she lacked personality. Service wasn’t horrible, but lagged & interaction with her felt forced. Just another day on the job for her it felt.

A cozy hideaway restaurant immediately adjacent to the docks, with outdoor seating and a spectacular view of the lake. The tastefully decorated indoor seating adjoins a full service bar with an excellent view of the docks and the lake. The ambience is a classy nautical, service is fast, friendly and efficient. Food is beautifully presented and savory.

We had a great experience. Our first time here. Food was awesome. I had the sea bass and my husband had the salmon. We also shared the lobster guac with chips. All was fresh and us wanting more. Great atmosphere and we took a walk by the lake when we were done.

Absolutely love 6smith. It’s my wife and I’d favorite restaurant. We appreciate that they pay their staff well and that fact does elevate the quality of service. Only down side of 6smith is that their ribeyes are perfect. I mean, actually perfect. The cut, the seasoning, cook time, everything. So, if you want to have a steak that will make steak everywhere else seem subpar then definitely try a ribeye here.

The food is always amazing at 6Smith. The steaks are high quality and cooked to perfection. Top notch service. Parking is at a premium as it gets very busy but there is valet parking so don't stress out.

I had the open faced chicken salad sandwich with a side salad. Both tasted amazing! Each had a ton of flavors that complemented each other well. The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. We went for Fat Pants Friday and they were really busy, but the waitress was attentive when needed.

Went with my team to a quick lunch in Wayzata and was very happy with the portions we received. I got the cobb salad while my guys got the caesar salad with chicken, and the chicken sandwich with soup of the day. All of us left satisfied!

Awesome place during the summer with a gorgeous view! It is better to do a reservation for the table outside in advance. Their steaks are really good! We also got French fries, tartar, and mushrooms as starters. The best dessert is key lime cake, this dessert is enough for 4 people. The same with chocolate cake. It is gigantic! Only napoleon is for 2 people. We enjoyed our time today.

For Restaurant Week we had the sea bass and salmon. The sea bass is my personal favorite from this restaurant. Tonight's bass was done to perfection. So light it was like eating air. Phenomenal spot! Where do I begin. The vibes on the water are choice. The service was top notch and our server was a pro. The food, wow, the wings might be the best I've ever had, the steak was cooked to perfection, and everyone else in our group also had their hunger satiated with Michelin quality cuisine. The cocktail/liquor selection was vast and mixed properly. After our meal and dessert I almost had to request a wheelchair due to the food coma I had almost been put in. 100/10 we will be back!

I believe that reservations are required, I wasn't the one to book it. The venue is elegantly rustic and the lighting perfect for photos. Ask for Kevin for a stellar customer service, though I'm sure they're all outstanding waiters/waitresses there. The limited vegan menu was underwhelming on paper, but it was hands down the best food I've tasted at any restaurant. I got the avocado toast plate and the tomato soup, and for dessert a peach crumble (fyi: the oats are made in a factory not certified vegan)

This place has something for everyone. Prices on food range from $15 and up. Their menu choices bring a breath of fresh air to an area that tends to stick with chain restaurants. I usually get the hanger steak while here and would highly recommend it. The only other place I found that is close is Burch, but comparing the two does not work well as they are both prepared differently. The bar and atmosphere on the outside patios are tough to beat. I would recommend the house old fashioned as you get a whiskey cube instead of regular ice. Adds a little flair and elegance. Staff are always friendly and prompt to serve you. The are all well dressed and appear professional.

The service and food are amazing!! My husband and I have been here before and have never had a problem with the food. Our friends we went with frequent 6Smith often and have never had a problem with the food either but this time our steaks came out mooing. We mentioned it to the server so they were aware and to have the kitchen check on future orders- WE SPECIFICALLY SAID to them that we weren't complaining to get something off our bill or free dessert. To our shock, they bought us dessert anyway. The manager gave us EACH a 1/4 cheesecake. When they delivered it, we all laughed. The server knew why we were laughing and said she couldn't do anything about it despite what we said not to do. She wrapped it all up for us to take it home. It was a nice surprise. We are not people who complain to get things for free at all and in fact taking the dessert home made me feel guilty for even saying something in the first place. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing evening with family and friends and you will most certainly be taken care of no matter the situation. Cheers!

The food and ambience are great! The drink menu and prices are decent too. If you go, try to sit out on the patio. The view is stunning. It almost makes up for the poor service. Management should give the servers a crash course in basic service etiquette. Simple things like making sure the appetizer comes out before the meal, letting the guest know the specials for the night right away, etc. 6Smith is worth checking out if you're already in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here. Not when there are other options who have great food, drink, ambience AND service.

My very favorite outdoor restaurant deck in the entire Twin Cities metro area! The dockside Lake Minnetonka view is perfection, particularly from the upper level deck. The food has only gotten better this year, and the service is always friendly. That Hanger Steak Chimichurri is vibrantly flavorful with lots of zingy garlic and red pepper, and the tuna poke is fresh, tender, and delicious! I have ordered both of those meals more than once this past summer. The Brooklyn Bonfire cocktail is outstanding, but maybe don't order it outdoors on a windy day, as you'll lose much of that tasty smoky goodness as it's served.

It appears that they are expensive because based on location and portrayed upper echelon guests they should be pricey and not because of excellent food and service. 6Smith has THE best patio and roof top view in the Twin Cities that I've seen. I love hanging out there with friends ... enjoying the calmness of the lake. We ordered the guacamole and chips and calamari for an appetizer. The calamari is very bland but the peppers and sauce added a nice touch. The guacamole is pretty standard, nothing fancy. It's definitely a cool spot to hang out. I'd recommend bringing out of town guests if you're looking to impress them.

Been to 6Smith a couple of times. I love the food and location. There is something for everyone and it all tastes great. I dropped a star because the vegan menu is separate from the main menu. Someone who doesn’t want meat for dinner shouldn’t be made to feel like a social pariah and have to ask for a separate menu. Just include the options on the main menu.

My favorite is their Fat Pants Fridays meals which are different every Friday. On Thursday they post a picture on Instagram and Facebook of their unique Friday lunch they are making. It's $11, at least 2,000 calories, and tastes as amazing as any of their entrees. Our office goes on Fridays, and get there before noon if you want to beat the rush.

This is a sweet environment. I haven't spent much time in Wayzata, let alone on east lake street. We had a business function that night, and I can't think of a better venue to get introduced to that neighborhood. The front area was a little bit under construction, but that wasn't a huge issue for me after I could find my way inside. We had a space off of the main area that looks like it was usually booths but have been cleared out for our event. The moment I stepped in the space there was staff there handing out champagne and ready to go. They were serving heavy appetizers and I got to enjoy the crab cakes as well as a couple of sliders. I didn't find anything overly extraordinary about the food, but they kept it coming and was very well presented. I was overall just very content with the staff and how attentive and polite they were. It was a good event and I definitely want to come back and try out the actual restaurant.

The prime rib sandwich is outstanding as well, with its crispy bits of beef around the edges. The décor and service are luxe, welcoming, and professional. 6Smith is highly recommended all around.

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue...the menu is way too dark to be read at the bar. I had to take a picture of the bar menus so I could read them. Yes, the ambiance is great and the food is great, but if I can't read what is on the menu, then the great food (and drink) choices are lost to me. Lighten up the brown paper to be at least off white or ivory, then the brown ink will be legible.

We had dinner at the patio at 6smith last night - it was fantastic!! Really great vibe on the patio with comfy seating for a party of 6. Apps / small plates were fantastic - both the tuna tartare and the crab cakes were our favorites. I had the scallops for my entree - they had some spice to them (peppers) which was unexpected but perfect! My husband ordered the butter steak and crab legs - they were some of the biggest crab legs I've ever seen! Arrived to the table already perfectly cracked in half and ready to eat. Our server was really fun - he was attentive and personable. I'd highly recommend 6smith!

6Smith has the best vegan dishes I have ever tasted, and I've tried vegan fare in restaurants all the way from NYC to Amsterdam to Bangalore. The only reason I'm giving 4 rather than 5 stars is because the vegan menu is "secret." Nothing on the regular menu is vegan, the servers don't include the vegan menu when they give u all the other menus, and if u click on the "vegan menu" link on the website, the link takes u to a PDF of a dessert menu (at least the last few times I checked). The only way to find out about the vegan menu is to specifically ask if they have any vegan options. However, if you do that, you'll be awed by the most ingenious vegan creations you could imagine. Just be sure to ASK for the vegan menu! Even the non-vegans in our groups always regret not ordering off of the vegan menu, as it is that good!

I love a place with exceptional service. My skirt steak chimichurri was full of fresh herbs. The steak and scallops were mouthwatering. There is an outdoor deck with seated dining for those who want their food with a view of the lake. Amazing service - repeatedly. The Brussels sprouts are to die for. The wine list is fabulous. The tables are comfortable, the bar is lively, and the lake scenery is beautiful. The people watching is at its best at 6Smith - I actually saw a group of young men eating there, one in culottes, boat shoes, and a sweater wrapped and knotted around his neck (vintage Good Will Hunting, for sure). Most recently, I went there for my anniversary and had a to-die-for steak which was the first steak in a long time that I didn't smother with steak sauce (I'm not too chic). They make a DEVINE peanut butter and chocolate dessert big enough to split with 3-4 people. As our server found out it was our anniversary, they gave us a thoughtful gift when we departed. I absolutely love everything about this place and will continue to go back!

Visited the patio shortly after opening beyond the COVID closure. Waited 30 min past reservation time for our table, but it was well worth it. Great service, excellent food, and creative cocktails per usual. The rib appetizer was delicious and a little spicy. The beet and watermelon salad had a nice blend of flavors, with salmon perfectly prepared. Guacamole and chips were some of the best. Maybe it’s just because we haven’t been out in two months, but this was honestly all SO delicious I can’t wait to return!!

We have wanted to try this place for a while and finally made the trip to Wayzata to do so. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the blackened swordfish and my husband had the butter steak, and both were perfectly cooked. The drinks were also fantastic. The bar could make a perfect Manhattan, and the wine choices were great as well. The best part, though? The service! Our server, Kristen (?), was so friendly and helpful with the menu. She knew how to describe everything in detail to help us decide what we wanted to try. We've added this place to our list of favorites.

Beware, there are no hash browns for breakfast/brunch. I had their biscuits and gravy and they were good. They could have used a little more gravy then they came with as there wasn't enough left to cover the mashed potatoes. Flavor wise they were good and the biscuits only had a hint of jalapeno so don't be worried about any heat in them (I actually wound up asking for hot sauce is how mild they are). I tried a friends Steak and eggs and had entree envy immediately so I would recommend that over the biscuits and gravy. Service was hit and miss at the outset but improved over the course of the meal even though we didn't say anything. All in all it's worth trying, especially if you could sit on their patio overlooking the lake.

After patiently waiting 15 minutes past when our food was supposed to be ready fir pick up. We get home to see that our $11 Brussels sprouts order was a total of 4 Brussels sprouts sliced in half. Just attended a wedding at this place. Everything was fantastic. The hors d'oeuvres, the entrées amazing! We were served sea bass and flank steak that melted in your mouth. The atmosphere is perfect. The wait staff were all very friendly and on top of everything. Nobody had to wait to get their drinks topped off. They had low-key rock music piped in that even worked with the event. Never thought I'd attend a wedding and hear Tom Petty, followed by The White Stripes but it actually clicked and made for a very casual but upbeat vibe. It's located right off Lake Minnetonka with a view from a deck that any dinner party could thoroughly enjoy. Would love to go back.

My family came here for a special called restaurant week. A three-course meal for $35. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing for the price. Especially the Bourbon Bacon and Filet Mignon, don't forget the Mocha Mudpie. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Just make sure to make a reservation, and clear a couple hours, because it's not a place to rush people in and out. Try it out!

Thank you so much to our waitress and manager Angel (if I’m remembering correctly). Although we had to wait a little bit for our reservation- the food and service was outstanding. The manager came over and introduced himself, shook our hands and apologized for the wait. This WAS so unexpected. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an excellent dinner. The food was well presented and tasted incredible. We started with the wings. Hands down best wings I have ever had. Dry rubbed and the blue cheese was so creamy. We also had the “bread is life” which was a perfectly toasted and buttered baguette with three shaved to put on top. We then had the sea bass and flank steak which were both very delicious. I can’t wait to return. It is so rare to find such great service and quality food these days. 6smith does NOT disappoint.

Kudos to 6 Smith for having a full vegan menu with 6 + choices (ask them for it). I don't think any of the other high-end restaurants in Wayzata have vegetarian entrees, let alone vegan, which is really surprising (and disappointing) these days. We love this place. A great spot to bring out of town guests. In the summer we make a reservation, go early and check-in to ask for an outdoor table, then we have a drink at the roof top bar while we wait. We've had an issue here and there and the manager swoops in to fix it. We have also held business dinners here. They have some nice spots for that too. You can dine in the bar as well if the restaurant is full. Highly recommend!

Great food at a steep price. The portions are nothing large but the restaurant makes up for that with its rooftop seating. It's absolutely gorgeous overlooking lake Minnetonka and the staff is extremely friendly and can keep a good conversation going. This is a great place to hang out with friends and have a good meal along with it. The indoor seating is unique too with kind of a deconstructed look to it.

Food is very tasty and well executed, but a few shortcomings prevent it from getting five stars. Scallops and gnocchi are phenomenal - best thing on the menu. Perfectly cooked fresh sweet scallops with the pillowy delighfulness you expect from a good gnocchi. The chicken wings are some of the best in town as well - dry rub has a great balance of salt and smoke. Several very good dishes and their minor flaws: Tuna poke - avocado:tuna ratio too high Steak tartare - baguette is so thick it mutes the flavor of the tartare Loaded Mac & cheese - cheese sauce was too runny Venison & Kobe Lucy - burger patty too dry The steaks are great, but if you're going for steak in Wayzata go to Gianni's. But while we're comparing, 6Smith is overall the best spot in Wayzata since Bellecour went out. Cocktail selection is quite good as well - paloma and Brooklyn bonfire being my favorite. Tap selection is good but not extensive. Have been many times and will go back. Solid choice any time of the year, but summer lake views are the best.

I got their 6smith Old Fashioned, 7oz sirloin, and flourless chocolate cake. The sirloin and bernaise sauce melts in your mouth and the old fashioned is one of my all time favorites! Would highly suggest for a nice date night as it's a little expensive.

My fiancé and I tried this place during Restaurant Week for Spring 2021 and will definitely be back. From the preset menu for the week, I ordered the Steak Tartare as my app, the Filet Mignon with blue cheese crumbles served with garlic mashed potatoes as my main dish and their famous Mocha Mud Pie for dessert. I had never had Steak Tartare before and was a little nervous about it being raw steak topped with a raw quail egg, but fear not! It was AMAZING. So tender and flavorful. When the main course came, I was in heaven. This was hands down the best filet I have ever had. Perfectly cooked at medium rare and topped with blue cheese crumbles and fried onion strings. The flavor was amazing and the portion was perfect. The garlic mashed potatoes were so smooth and buttery, no other seasoning was needed. Finally, dessert--WOW. This mountain of deliciousness was to die for and was big enough to share. This was absolutely worth checking out during Restaurant Week, but we'll be back and happy to pay full menu price in the future. Our only complaint was that the music was a bit loud which made it difficult to hear conversation at our table, even with just the 2 of us.

Started off with a Mai Tai that came in a cool glass with calamari. The calamari was in some sauce Thai sauce with shredded carrots and was really good. Main dishes were Lobster roll and Jumbo Scallops. They we r e both great. The lobster was packed in a sliced roll and it was overflowing, so they definitely don't skimp. The scallops were very tender, juicy, and there was a perfect amount of sauce. All very flavorful. Also had an old fashioned, which was on point. We sat on the patio, which is pretty close to the lake. Its a great place to go for a date.

Ordered the Salmon and it was fantastic! The Jucy Lucy was gigantic. The lobster Gnocchi and roasted cauliflower appetizers were a hit at the table. We sat outside, and it was great, except for the hundred flies. It was terrible. They were all over us and landing on our food, faces, legs, arms, so annoying it ruined the mood and ambience.

Inconsistency plagues this restaurant. The first two times I went (shortly after it opened), I enjoyed wonderful food and great service. However, in more recent visits, I've gotten a really disorganized feel from the serving staff (random food runners, no communication between the people coming to our table) and the food prices and quality/quantity don't quite match up anymore. I paid almost $20 for basic chips and guacamole just because it had a couple of lobster lumps in it. Super lazy approach to something that should have been quite divine. No rush to come back, I'll head to Cov instead.

I had the apple cider-braised pork shank and the beet & sweet potato fries. The food was amazing. The pork shank was served on the bone but the meat was so tender I only needed a fork to eat it. I'm from a beef state, so I personally believe the steaks were supremely overpriced for the cuts offered. 2 others in my party enjoyed their steaks, so take that for what it's worth. Service was a little slow (10+ minutes to get water from the time we were seated, long wait to place orders & receive food) but the server was otherwise great.

This was my husband and I's first restaurant experience since COVID. We had a lot of missed milestones to celebrate and my oh my, did we choose the right place to do it! Not only was the restaurant and staff diligent and set an expectation to keep everyone safe and healthy, but the whole experience from beginning to end was exceptional. Our server Megan was awesome. She gave us a great run down of the menu, paid us just the right amount of attention while also letting us enjoy our time there and you could tell she truly enjoyed her job. Another server in our area was hilarious, treating a bottle of San Pellegrino like fine wine for his table. Every staff member from hostess to runner was great. And the food, I mean every single thing we had was phenomenal. We had the tuna poke, pork shank, salmon, brussels and the best mac n cheese we've ever tasted! Finished it off with the chocolate cake and Dark Angel dessert cocktail. We live a half hour away but we will no doubt be back again. Truly exceptional! Kudos to you 6Smith

My wife and I had dinner here to celebrate and the food and staff were incredible. Meggan Josh and Blake were outstanding and created such a special experience for the both of us. I had a corporate retirement party for a wine loving co-worker there about a month ago. Finesse worked with us to select the appetizers, wine & plan the event. We had about 40 people on a Wed. night and everything was fabulous. The staff was attentive and engaging, the food was better than just about anywhere else I have had. The servers greeted everyone and memorized their names. We did end up right on budget and no one left hungry or thirsty.

Food is great and our hostess was great. Location is beautiful. What I felt disappointed by was the lack of real social distancing precautions. I felt like outside on the patio was fine but had to walk through the inside to get there and my goodness from the inside of this place you could not tell we are in the midst of a pandemic. As a physician that is shocking to me. People sitting next to each other at the bar. They have so much space yet I saw barely any distance inside. The other disappointment- menus. Most places are doing disposable menus or links where you open it online. I did not see that to be in case here. I’ve seen multiple resturants w small hand sanitizers at tables for guests. Again not the case here. It’s a beautiful resturant but if you are someone who is high risk or concerned abt covid prob would skip unless you are at the patio and somehow avoiding the inside all together. I hope the management can give some thoughts on how to improve on this.

Excellent location right on Lake Minnetonka. Service was great, food selection and quality was outstanding. I had the vension and steak burger with fries. It was huge, and tasted great. My friends got an ahi bowl and the other the lobster roll with fries. Both really enjoyed their meals. The interior is cool and I cant wait to go back in the summer when their patio is open.

For the expense and hype, we expected a bit more, but the food really want anything more than one would get at any other bar/pub. Additionally, although our waitress was nice, the hostesses and other staff were very rude to people. It's convenient because we live in Wayzata, but we will not be coming back.

Came in for Restaurant Week and the Staff was just absolutely on top of it. Everything from sitting at the bar before dinner to consistent service throughout our meal. Our waiter even apologized for a "long" wait for our cocktails. Having worked as a bartender at a craft cocktail bar for years, that was a very reasonable amount of time for the quality of drinks being pushed out. Sone much so I chuckled when he apologized. We look forward to coming back to check out the regular menu! We're hooked!

We had our wedding reception at 6Smith and we were blown away with the service. We worked closely with Andrew, the manager, to plan the big day. He was helpful, creative, intuitive, and went the extra mile. Not only that, but the food was outstanding. Our guests still rave about how tasty everything was. The atomosphe of this place is also great. If you're thinking of a cocktail hour with around 70-80 people, this is the place!!

I'd give more stars if I could! This place was amazing. The whole lay out was cool, big windows facing the lake, real candles on the tables. Classy AF! lol. All the staff were so nice and our server was amazing, she let us take pictures and gave her personal suggestions, she was super nice. We ordered the chicken wings for an app, I know , they were amazing. Tender juicy flavorful 10/10. We both got steaks for dinner, both were melt in your mouth cooked to perfection!!! Sooo good. We got Brussels sprout and cauliflower, anyone can make potatoes taste good we want to see how they do bland veggies. Well, they do em right!!! Amazing cheese sauce on the cauliflower, zangy sauce on the Brussels, cooked perfect not mushy. The whole night was friggin magic! I cant wait to go back. Thank you to the whole staff, just an amazing job.

Would return and would recommend this place to anyone. I am tricky since I am highly allergic to dairy and gluten yet they accommodated me and I was able to have dessert! Awesome experience!

Very good service and a nice patio, but I thought the food was overpriced. I had the filet mignon, which was well prepared, and my wife had the swordfish. Both dishes were very good, as well as the wine and desert, but I just didn't feel that it justified the $190 bill. We'll probably go back again because it's a great location, but likely won't eat dinner. The wings were tasty, but they literally were the smallest wings I've ever seen which was disappointing for the $13 price. Probably a great happy hour spot.

Ben and Sam behind the bar are a tour de force and manage the mountains of people waiting for their sweet nectar with casual ease. Amazing liquor and wine selection. Claudio and Robert made sure no want ever entered our minds. Natalie embodies good service without pretense. She has a deep knowledge of everything that happens in the restaurant and moves like water between store history, menu items, and wine. She spoiled us! The food was unreal, unfathomably good. Every steak at the table was cooked to the exact temperature, and seasoned perfectly. Menu offerings like the Tuna Poke and beef cheek nachos bring spicy contrast to the bold simplicity of our red meat. Wine by the bottle at a reasonable price perfected the idyllic celebration of friends and family. The atmosphere was both packed with energy and spacious enough for quiet conversation; somehow walking the line with sensory intensity and pure relaxation. The lighting, the lake, the attitude, this place is heaven.

These guys really know how to take care of you at every step of your experience. Checked out this place finally during restaurant week. First impressions were great, professional young guy sat us right away and the decor was fantastic. Now, here we go. Sat at a booth around the bar area. Music had to have been someone's playlist, as I heard one band come on multiple times. Did I mention how loud it was? If there were people there and it was a packed bar, fine. But this was a Tuesday night and it was dead. Staff was not as clean cut as I was expecting for this area, and I heard the bartender belch loudly twice and talk to a server about how excited he was to get off work and go to McDonald's. Not joking. Our server was fine and attentive and the food was very good. I had the sea bass and their 6smith mud pie dessert is fantastic. However, the service didn't match the food whatsoever. I'm being picky, I know. However, spending good money at a high end restaurant should be more than just food, it should be an experience. Just typical of lazy Minnesota restaurant service. Get rid of the deadbeats and I may come again in the summer

Great food in a location right on the water. Tried both the Hangar Steak Chimichurri and the Juicy Lucy, and both were flavorful and perfectly prepared. The HH is also pretty good, including a version of Old Fashioned. Looking forward to going back in the summer to try the rooftop patio.

We love this restaurant for Sunday brunch! There's a public dock in Wayzata Bay just a few steps to the east, the patio and views are peaceful, and the staff is busy, but hard working. Our teenage boys fill up at the delicious buffet and the Bloody Mary bar is fantastic (though don't expect the same depths as Hell's Kitchen). The only reason I give 6 Smith a 4 is the length of time it takes to get a drink.

6Smith is a great place to go in Wayzata! The service is awesome, the food is so delicious - you really can't go wrong with whatever you order-and the decor is fun. If you haven't seen the signs for the girls/boys restroom, they're really cute. I will be honest with what you should expect: Their prices are a little bit expensive. You can try their brunch buffet or happy hour for a cheaper night out, but it ran us $133 for one drink, an app, two lunch entrees, a side and one dessert to share...but one of those was a steak! Their steak is served a la carte, so it will run you about $40-$60 just for the steak and if you want sides, it is going to cost you extra - which I've come to find out is becoming quite the trend so it's something you will find at nicer restaurants. The steak was cooked perfectly to my order - Med rare :0 It's a cozy atmosphere and I would definitely return! Their beef cheek nachos....that's all I have to say. You can tell they make their tortilla chips in house.

Amazing food, great cocktails, and fun atmosphere. My wife and I went here for our 1 year anniversary. I called in ahead (3 hours or so) and requested a table. They said they would try their best. When we arrived, they had a table set up and decorated for us, next to the windows. It was great. The food was exceptional. I had the steak with king crab, asparagus, bernaise sauce and she ordered the jumbo scallops with gnocchi. She continues to talk about the gnocchi and how fluffy and wonderful they were. They suprised us with a gigantic piece of housemade coffee ice cream dessert. This topped it all off. We are a huge fan and keep talking about when we should visit again. Great job 6Smith!

Okay food, seems conflicted though, overpriced. Dinner involved overly broad/diverse menu, overpriced main plates and drinks in some instances, and a confused atmosphere with some bar music and exposed plumbing alongside of some legitimate luxe details befitting a fine dinner place. Surprisingly disappointing. Our waitress was superb but the poor woman seemed to be running around correcting her colleagues' mistakes such as replacing two elements of my meal that I hadn't ordered. The food was ok but nothing special and the atmosphere was louder and more casual than I'd expected. We spent a lot on the meal but felt it wasn't good value for money and probably won't go back, preferring Cov. The lakeside location is lovely but it seemed it wasn't partnered with the overall experience.

This is our third time having lunch at 6 Smith in Wayazta. I highly recommend it for a great place to eat and enjoy the view of Lake Minnetonka. If you have a bad back or a difficult time sitting in the chairs that are made of steal etc. You can request the cushion chairs which are much more comfortable to sit in and better for your back. The food is made from scratch and the bread is wonderful and tasty. The food is high quality and made with fresh ingredients. During our first visit we came during the lunch/brunch hours. Our server name was Brady. He had only been working there a few months and knew everything in detail about the items on the menu. He is efficient and friendly and helpful. We haven't come across a waiter or server like that in a long time. We are so impressed with the owners, staff and food. We continue to return and encourage others to check it out. I highly recommend this place. Best restaurant in Wayzata.

Food is decent. I think they're trying to make trendy dishes, but they come bland. There really doesn't seem to be anything special about the place. On Fridays they do a special. It's way too much food. Most people people wouldn't be able to finish it, or are at least smart enough not to. The problem is you're not allowed to box up the leftovers to take home, and I'm not sure what they do with the waste.
