We made a reservation for New Years and had a great experience. The food was amazing! I was also impressed by how helpful and knowledgeable the staff was. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice (and not overly priced) steak dinner with a relaxing and romantic atmosphere. 10/10

Great atmosphere!! Huge drink menu's!! Meaning more than one!! Like 3 or 4 of them!! So they have the normal things all the way up to the high end stuff. The staff is great!! Excellent service!! The soups and salads are excellent!! Great bread as well. They have prime rib to fit anyone's appetite!! Over 300 Oz cut if you're really that hungry!! The cuts of meat are excellent. I did notice that they lacked the seasoning of other prime rib that I have had. But they were still good!! You will spend over 50 bucks with ease. It is a steakhouse after all. Is it the best steak or prime rib that I've had? No!! But all around me and my friends enjoyed the experience!!

Absolutely fantastic! The prime rib was so juicy! It was wonderful to have soup/salad and choice of potato included. Drinks and dessert were excellent as well. We will definitely be coming back!

Had the 16oz ribeye, mashed potatoes, side salad with tarragon-dill dressing, and the mushrooms as a side. Everything was spectacular, but our waiter Tim was the absolute highlight. He was attentive, provided some great suggestions, and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant visited our table and personally thanked us before we left, which was a nice touch.

We had the place reserved for a group event. Overall a good experience. Had the prime rib which was extremely tender and delicious. Also had the mushrooms which were delightful. The carrot cake was a bit much for me almost artificial in flavor. I would return if I’m back in the city.

We were served by Emily this evening during Milwaukee downtown dining week. The prime rib and a filet mignon were supersize, done to perfection and tasty. The side of carrots Were excellent, real carrots not those fake baby carrots served by some restaurants. starter salads fresh and crispy with delicious homemade dressing. Fillet was served with a glaze balsamic topping – – superb. Salted caramel brownies for dessert Were sinful. We were lucky to be seated outside on a beautiful evening and Emily is a super star employee. Thanks 1 million for your participation in downtown dining week, we loved it!

I was in on Tuesday, the food was great as always. The service was ok. Our server was very slow even though it was almost empty in the restaurant. I am not sure if it was a new hire but she was slower than I would expect. Food was amazing, server was questionable.

The Prime rib, crab legs, onion strings, shrimp and creamed corn were perfect! The crabcakes were totally cold and seemed completely uncooked the scallops had no searing or seasoning on them. The Staff was great. Classic steakhouse vibe.

We did a day trip up to Milwaukee mainly to have dinner here and it was entirely worth it. We ordered the 64oz prime rib and it was plenty for four of us. Not only was this some of the best tasting prime rib with the most tender texture, it was also some of the most affordable. The house salad and bread were delicious but I didn't want to get full on those. I think the only thing I would do differently is to get one of the sharable sides as the potatoes are tiny. Next time I find myself in Milwaukee, I will definitely be stopping in!

Prime rib had great flavor, it couldn't been 24 oz's like I orderd though - I can barely finish 16 oz's ( what i usually order at other supper clubs about twice a week) and I was able to eat all of this and still feel hungry. No ice cream drinks for dessert, which I thought was weird for a supper club. My wife loved her tenderloin but said the scallops weren't anything special and just a tad over cooked. Waitress was spott on and super friendly! Very pricey, but that was expected. Still had a great time here with friends and in Milwaukee all together, enjoyed the river walk and 7 bridges trail at Grant park.

With cuts of prime rib that'll humble the most daring, this place was a dream. My lady & I came here for our Anniversary on a recomendation of a friend and to date, this is our favorite place to visit in Milwaukee. The prime rib was seasoned very well. The cuts we were served had a great crust on it. The menu was a tad pricey, but the experience is well worth it. Trust us. Cheers!

Everything was beyond expectations! From the 1st moment sitting at the bar having a delicious happy hour martini served from a great mixologist (darn I should've wrote down his name) to the dining room service and ultimately the food. Best prime I have ever tasted and I managed a restaurant that also specialized in Prime Rib for 17 years. Just Fantastic.

I made a reservation for the day after Valentine's day which was a Saturday so I anticipated we might have to still wait to get seated. We did not. We were brought to our table right away and had impeccable service given to us. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Only knocking it down since the prices are on the high side. My husband the prime rib lover would give it 5 though.

Very good prime rib, huge portions as well. My first time here, very nice atmosphere and decor. A great bar with a very well stocked Scotch selection. Friendly staff and a nice menu. Service was top notch. Appetizers were great, but the dinner sides could have been better. We'll be back again.

Absolutely excellent prime rib of beef. I would genuinely have to say one of the best In the country. You must try the lobster bisque, not to be missed. Great cocktails, experienced and professional staff and an owner that truly cares about what he serves. Worth the trip to Milwaukee!

Ward’s absolutely specializes in prime rib, this is nothing like a carving station at an Easter brunch where the meat is good, but not great. The rib is so good, you don’t need horseradish sauce. You can challenge yourself to one of their higher that 32oz dishes- completion leads to your name being etched on a panel. Lobster bisque was good, and my martini was smooth. Don’t fill yourself up too much, their family’s banana cake with cream cheese frosting is a must get. The meat and the cake both melt in your mouth. Thank you for the meal.

Good service - staff was attentive without being overly fussy. Steaks, while cooked to appropriate temperature, were not seasoned at all. Disappointing for a $44 piece of meat. I can make a better steak at home. Delicious creme brulee though. My friend wanted aioili for her fries and they didn't have any or couldn't make any (super easy thing to whip up). They are a chain, so don't expect anything off-book or specialized. Weird ambience. Supposed to be a nice downtown spot for prime meats but has a stained drop ceiling, interior doors separating the bar and dining room that resemble those you'd see at a supermarket, and a tired vibe that says, "we were cool 20 yrs ago." Went because I had a gift card. Won't be back.

Employees were very friendly and our server was fantastic. The food was impeccable. My prime rib melted in my mouth. We had carrot cake for dessert and it was moist and delicious. If you like bourbon they have a large selection to choose from. Highly recommend Ward's for a nice night out.

Had a reservation. Was greeted immediately, checked our coats and seated right away. Our waitress was super friendly, but not pushy. We ordered steak and prime rib; both were cooked perfectly.Towards the end of our dining, the owner came to check on us and had small friendly conversation. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Waitress couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Older woman working at front “hostess area” not so much - kind of rude. The filet was good, was expecting a higher quality for this level of steak house. The mushrooms were fantastic, the dill salad dressing was fantastic, the mash potatoes were fantastic, as were the Brussels sprouts. With that being said, overall very good experience and the food came up quick which was a plus. I would return. Recommended.

Great and amazing experience! We spent six hours there, just continuously getting fed apps, dinner, sides, and desert. I only made it through 25 Oz of the 40 Oz, but with everything else I had, no shame. Skip everything else and get a perfectly cooked prime rib (what ever you can handle) and go to town! But leave room for desert, because they do that as well as the steaks! Banana or carrot cake, you won't go wrong.

Pros: Great service, nice ambience. Fish entree was fantastic. Cons: Scallops were very disappointing and the steak was only “pretty good”. Everything my party had purchased we’d had prepared better at other restaurants (or even at home) and at a lesser cost. Essentially walked away thinking we were overcharged for what we were served and we wouldnt return for that reason. Expect perfection at that cost.

If you love prime rib, you need to go to Ward's! The service was excellent and the prime rib was delicious! I highly recommend you try the Truffle Creamed Corn, you will not be disappointed! I hadn't had prime rib in a long time (thanks, covid) and this definitely hit the spot!

Went here with the boyfriends work and I must say I was impressed. Travel Channel voted them the best Prime Rib in the USA and so far I believe it! My prime rib was so juicy and flavorful and cooked to order. They also have some pretty good appetizers as well. They are a little pricy, we didn't pay, but definetly will mark this place down as a date night spot. Oh and the bar selection was off the charts too!

Came here for our 10 year anniversary and we were so pleased. We had a reservation at 7 and they were so kind to us and very welcoming. We told them it was our anniversary and they were all invested in getting to know us and our "secret" to staying together. Staff was amazing. Food was delicious! The prime rib was so tender and juicy. I would definitely recommend this place. Coming from out of town we were nervous about being in a different environment but would definitely come back.

Great dinner! We ordered prime rib sandwiches with sides that were absolutely delicious. Although we miss the dine-in service, Ward's continues to deliver the same high quality. The prime rib was amazing and the sides put the meal over the top - a great break to our meals at home. We're already planning our next order. All I have to say is well done and I have not had to send it back. I love that! Any drink you order is great and last time I was here I ordered a blue moon and it honestly was one of the best I tasted. Atmosphere is chilled and relaxed and you can just enjoy your self.

Great spot, not super big but enough space to be comfortable. Staff is very friendly, and owners are usually on hand. Tons of wine available with a wide bar. I got the smallest prime rib size and was still quality. Everything was worth the price.

Took my wife here for our anniversary and had a great time. The food was excellent, especially the prime rib, and the service was outstanding. I'm sure our waiter knew we were two poor college students but treated us as paying customers regardless, and he was compensated properly. We look to come back when we can afford another visit, and possibly get on the list of people who managed to eat their weight in prime rib!

The service was really good. However, the only thing I enjoyed was my Mango Mojito. The food was horrible. The pasta sauce was thick and under seasoned. The crab cakes had no flavor and we're mostly filling. My father enjoyed his ribs, but that was it. Very over rated and very overpriced.

Prime rib was delicious, cooked exactly as ordered. It literally melts in your mouth. Superb. Sides of mushrooms- so so, loaded baked potato OK, Pot belly pork was scrumptious. Next time i would opt for the side dining area as we had a rather large obnoxious group near us. It did not make our Anniversary dinner ambiance very pleasant.

Having lived across the US for a number of years, I was pleasantly surprised today when I found that the restaurant with the absolutely, most heavenly delicious Prime Rib I've ever had was located right in my hometown, MKE baby. While the price for everything is a bit on the expensive side, it's definitely worth it: the fresh French bread when you sit down, the glorious Lobster Bisque, and then--oh baby--16 oz of deliciousness swimming in a pool of Au Jus (spelling? Bah) with a little cocktail cup of Wisconsin Horseradish just begging to be rubbed on that meat... I better be careful, this is starting to sound wrong. Just believe me, you will NOT be disappointed, nor will you be hungry, when you leave this place!

Last night my wife and I were in town to see a comedian with a friend. Did not have reservations and worried we would be late for the show. From the time we entered it was 5 star service. The lobster bisque was very good. The meals were excellent from the walleye to the steaks and scallops. We always get the prime rib sandwiches from Ward's at Summerfest. Now we have a favorite restaurant downtown. Will be back soon.

Prime Rib being my favorite food, I have never gone to a better place for it. Now a key factor to enjoying your prime rib is usually to get in before the crowd, you'll get a better cut the earlier you are in my experience. Some of the seating is a bit awkward and the service ranges a little but overall it is an excellent place if you're looking for a House of Prime. Avoid it if you plan on eating late at night, by then you probably won't get a great piece, but if you go early enough the piece you'll get is a savory chunk of perfectly marbled prime rib pink and bloody that tastes absolutely fantastic. Around a 4.5 to be honest but that isn't an option so rounded up to 5.

Was in Milwaukee for the weekend, was out later than expected at casino and needed to eat. Hit this restaurant up at about 10pm and had the 18oz Ribeye. Was served fast and everything was delicious. Didnt have one complaint. Atmosphere top notch and staff was friendly as ever. HIGHLY recommend to everyone.

I first tried Wards during downtown dining. Let me say that the quality of food and service was worth every penny. Definitely a must check out kind of place. It's a romantic personal atmosphere and the service is very good. I could visit daily just for the lobster bisque alone! Best I've ever had! The Sea Bass in a white wine dill sauce was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was not over powering by any means. Just enough on the plate to get a good drop in with every bite. I would recommend this place to everyone. But seriously, try the lobster bisque! Lol.

For all the Steak House/Upscale choices, Ward's competes, but doesn't win. I thought the atmosphere was good and the wine selection was good. Steak was not outstanding, but very good. And, who can really eat a 100oz Prime Rib. Really? Aside from the absurdity of that, overall it was a good restaurant.

Amazingly delicious beef. I ordered a 18oz bone in ribeye and it was rich, tender, and delicious. Lightly seasoned with something that appeared magical! The sides were served family style and were equally delicious. Service was great as well and were timely.

Wards was a nice experience with a professional setting. The meat portions are generous. My only complaint if I had one would be that the prime rib isnt worth the hype. Its good, but its just prime rib. We couldn't tell the difference in the preparation. The customer service I would give 5 stars.

Went to Ward's for the first time last night. When making our reservations, my friend was asked if the dinner was a celebration.My friend answered yes. She used her entire gift card on our dinner! I was honored! Loved the atmosphere - a modern version of the old supper club vibe. Very clean.Place settings are made for 2 people sitting side to side-difficult for a hard of hearing to have a conversation that way, tho. It was easily fixed by sliding my place setting over a bit. The only downside to where we were seated was that we were in close proximity to a very large, and some what noisy group. It would have been nice to have been seated a bit further away. The restaurant was not crowded at the time. I noticed as we entered that Ward's offered valet parking for $7. Much cheaper than the option I pre booked-Gaslight Garage @ $13...note to self! Staff greeted us warmly. Coat check available. Waiter came promptly, and the pace of the meal went smoothly. Waiter was friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. We had waited for the friday prime rib special for a couple of months, because of conflicts in our schedules, and we had really looked forward to the dinner! Braved the storm warning and came out anyway... The meal itself-both of us ordered the prime rib, 12 oz. cut, medium rare, baked potato, salad, soup-friend had prime rib chili. Friend loved the prime rib soup.Salad was great, Fresh mixed greens with diced onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. Potatoes were perfect. Generous bread and rolls, delicious. Prime rib was a generous cut, very lean, but a bit tough and hard to cut in spots. It was a tiny bit of a let down for me because im used to (and love) the fatty and incredibly tender neighborhood supper club version. My friend absolutely adored hers and completely finished it. At the appropriate time, our waiter came to me and asked, chocolate or banana.I said chocolate.Our waiter return with a huge! slice of one of the best chocolate cakes I have had in a long time, with a lit candle in it! A superb experience despite the small blips, and one I will definitely repeat again, worth driving in from western racine county for.

Aaron our server was excellent, he knew the menu, was helpful with suggestions. The salmon was excellent. Prime rib perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly. Sauces and salad dressings were tasty. Will definitely come back.

I had heard on the Travel Channel almost 5 years ago that this restaurant had the best prime rib in the Midwest. Milwaukee being 100 miles away, I needed a reason to make the trip to find out for myself. When my Son's 🎂 came around--who lives nearby--I treated him and Daughter-in-law to dinner at Wards. The prices were similar to any fine dining in Chicago, but I asked for a sharper 🔪 to cut through the 24 oz prime rib. Well prepared prime rib should not be tough to ✂ or chew, and I was disappointed to experience both. I would not describe the meal as bad, but it certainly is not the best prime rib in the Midwest.

The food is awesome and the staff is the friendliest in the city. Whether you are coming for the World Famous Prime Rib, or the fresh seafood and steaks, it is a must stop in Milwaukee!

Had lunch here the other day. The Reuben was AMAZING, no joke, the best one I have ever had. Prices were all reasonable and the other three people in our group all said there food was great too. I love this place because if I want to do business or social, they have a good space for us to do either, between the bar, dining room, side room they all have their own vibe. I highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood.

The atmosphere was nice though the seating was awkward... Our server was nice and I felt like we got a good value since the soup and potato were included with the entree, unlike other steakhouses that charge for those. The only issue was at the end of the night, my date and I asked to have both our steak and potato leftovers to be boxed up. When we got home I checked the box and saw both potatoes but only one steak! I was a little upset since this was a $40 steak and I had planned on eating it for lunch the next day. I called to let them know, not expecting anything. The manager I spoke to was nice and understanding. She told me they would take care of it and took down my contact info. Never hearing back from anyone was a letdown. Good place to try but we won't go back since there are plenty of other steakhouses in Milwaukee that we haven't tried yet.

My husband and I visited for the first time for downtown dining week. Our only option for reservations were the high tops in the bar area which unfortunately were very loud. The waitstaff was very friendly but there was a bit of a wait in between courses and waiting for the bill. Overall the food was okay. I'd be interested in dining off the regular menu if we return. For entrees we both had the prime rib, mashed potatoes and shared brussel sprouts (and dessert). I had the lobster bisque which was great, he had the caesar which was okay. Meat was cooked properly but I would've preferred the au jus on the side as opposed to being poured on the meat, made it a little messy. I wish the mashed potatoes would've had garlic/more flavor and although the brussel sprouts were cooked well, again they lacked flavor, had to add a bunch of salt to give it something. Desserts were an apple tart or a caramel brownie. Both were fine but nothing I would come back for. Other weird thing was that we weren't served any bread (not a huge deal but odd). Other couples around us who dined off the regular menu did but those of us on the DDW menu at other tables, didn't. I thought that was a little cheap. Overall it was a nice experience but not sure if we'll be back.

BEST cut of prime rib in the entire US! I have traveled coast to coast and not a single place compares. The name says it all and the proof is in the product and outstanding service. This place really stands out. There are better STEAK places out there but this place does not pride itself as a steakhouse. If you have a question as to what to order just refer to the name of the establishment.

Outstanding variety on the menu (much more than prime rib), with imaginative preparations - last visit I had a ribeye rubbed with a coffee crust (!) that was fantastic. Blackened steaks are particularly tasty. Impossible to leave hungry; this is one of those places that serves massive cuts of prime rib (literally up to nearly 22 pounds if desired). Excellent sides. Impeccable service. Expensive but worth every sou. The downtown location offers reasonably-priced valet service if you don't wish to park on the street.

Thank you to Brian and Ward's House of Prime for saving New Year's Eve and our 25th wedding anniversary during COVID! As with so many missed events this year, we were afraid our special year-end celebration would be another bust, since being responsible and high risk has meant no indoor dining for us. We've tried curbside pickup at a number of good area restaurants that thankfully offer it with much success, but our experience at Ward's was over the top! The telephone ordering process from the Family-Style Price-Fixed To- Go menu is straight forward with lots of options. Yes, they're known for prime rib, but we both wanted tenderloin and were not disappointed. From the perfectly done steak to the tasty bacon-wrapped prime rib bite aps to the sauteed 'shrooms, the double baked loaded potatoes & those to- die-for onion strings, each generously-sized portion left enough for a New Year's Day treat, including the desserts we were too full to eat. Perhaps most importantly, these guys know how to package their takeout securely, separating hot items from cold in individual locking containers & separate bags that arrived home in perfect ready-to-eat condition. That's something we haven't had as much success with from other nearby takeout dining options. I mean, what's the point of serving a well-made meal if the careless packaging means it doesn't arrive in great shape? I know it's difficult, but Ward's proves it can be done! As if all the above weren't enough, Brian Ward called back the night before pickup to make certain we would get exactly what we wanted. That's service!

Came during "Downtown Dining Week" to try it out and had a nice experience. Sat outside because of the nice weather and had decent service. It was a busy week for most restaurants participating so I'd imagine that their regular service would be even better. Can get a bit pricey, but you absolutely get the quality you pay for. Very cool "wall of fame" inside that showcases the larger cuts of prime they offer along with individuals who tackled them. The hostess said that if you plan on ordering a large cut all you have to do is call in the day before while making a reservation to request it. I'll be returning with my dad to treat him on father's day for one of the big cuts! Would reccomend if you are a fan of prime and have some money to spend.

This is an iconic place for insane amounts of prime rib in Milwaukee. You can try to top the leaderboard but I think the record is around 320 oz right now so good luck! You could also just come here and order a normal sized steak and leave happy. That is an option. The only reason I dropped this place down to 3 stars is because they really dropped the ball on Milwaukee’s downtown dining week. The prime rib sandwich had some overdone meat, the bread was awful and like they had just grabbed a pack of day old bread at the grocery store, and the dessert cookies were obviously not fresh and chucked in the microwave. They were rock hard.

If you had a bad meal don't go to a place that specializes in prime rib and get something other then that. It's like going to a butcher shop and asking for an Oscar mayer hotdog...If you had a bad experience here you should start cooking for yourself at home.

We visited Ward's during downtown dining for lunch. I had the house salad, prime rib sandwich with au jus, and the salted carmel brownie. The salad was good, but not one of my favorite dressings. The prime rib sandwich was very good and really hit the spot. The salted carmel brownie was great. The servers were very friendly and the service was fast.

We were very disappointed with Wards House of Prime. My fiancee and I went there for the first time tonight and did not enjoy our meal. We had no issue with the service. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt. The food however was a different story considering the price. My fiancee had the filet and bacon wrapped scallop combo plate. The only flavor to the scallops was a burnt grill taste. The filet (cooked medium) had a little pink inside like it should but still managed to be dry and lacked tenderness. The best part of her meal was the twice baked potato. I had the a 16oz prime rib and it tasted good. But again, for a prime rib place it was just okay. We did LOVE the lobster bisque but I will never go to Ward's again. I would much rather go to Carnevor for a nice meal. I'd even go to Onesto (Italian) for their filet before Ward's.

Fiance and I went to Ward's for her birthday and we were extremely happy with our decision. Every part of the meal was great. We started out with the prime rib bites for an appetizer which were delicious and tender. I had the prime rib and lobster bisque soup, both of which were the best I have ever had. My fiance had the Butternut Squash Ravioli which she said was on the top of her list for butternut squash raviolis. Since it was her birthday, Wards gave us a complimentary creme brulee which put us in absolute awe! DELICIOUS! Definitely would go back, especially for the creme brulee.

For an upscale steak house, I have to say I was a little disappointed in the value. Our party of 6 arrived around 9:00pn and were seated right away. Do not order anything other than the Rib Eye, I'll explain. We tried some appetizers; Nueske’s Smoked Beef Carpaccio with Black Olive Tapenade with Crostini was melt in your mouth flavor explosion! However, the lightly battered Fried Calamari with Marinara Sauce was bland, not overcooked, but probably could have been marinated to build some layers of flavor. Not bad, just bland. The salads were all made with homemade dressings and a good crisp, fresh lettuce variety. I'd go back just for the salads and the Smoked Carpaccio! Having dined there several times before, I opted for the go to Rib Eye.... WHAT??? ";;;House of Prime". Yes the medium rare rib eye has been a consistent delight! Cooked to perfection, not too thick, and always more than a meal for one. While my dinner companions had the New York Strip, which was over cooked, and dry for medium rare; the 16 oz. Prime Rib, was thick, and medium rare as ordered, but more bland than you would expect at this price. One guest had the Oysters Rockefeller, a 1/2 dozen delicately arranged and brilliantly presented, were a disappointment. The sauce totally overpowered the faint Oyster flavor. Although the service was attentive, and the wine selection was good, pricey, but right on, overall our party left disappointed. Except for me, the Rib Eye is consistent and flavorful, cooked to perfection... my go to selection at this fine dining "...House of Prime".

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary last night, we are visiting Milwaukee from Chicago for the weekend. We are glad we came to Ward's, the service was as good as the food. We both had drinks and enjoyed them both (Maple Old Fashioned for me and a Starburst Martini for my wife) and shared a very nice shrimp cocktail. We both had the lobster bisque and really enjoyed that as well. My wife ordered the scallops and steak with a creamy garlic sauce and she thought that was divine, I however went for the 24 oz prime rib.... that's a lot of meat. How on earth these folks eat up to 168 oz of this I will never know! Our meals came with twice baked potatoes (Smaller than I would expect at a steak house) and we ordered two vegetable dishes, both amazingly good (Carmalized Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Creamed Corn). No room for dessert but they brought out some creme brule anyways! We really enjoyed our evening and couldn't be happier. Thank you Ward's for a great dining experience!
