Reviews of Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern
Best breakfast place in Milwaukee! Food comes out fast and hot. Each dish has a unique spin with a classic diner taste. The pancakes are cooked to perfection. The potatoes have the perfect amount of crisp. The smash burger is GREAT. The staff is extremely nice and all masked up. The seating is comfortable and the decor is cool. I loved the music they were playing too! Good bloods.
Delicious place for brunch!! Great menu options for food and beverages with both alcoholic and mocktail options. Service was very friendly and attentive. It’s a small location so be sure to arrive early or plan for a wait if going during peak hours. Great outdoor seating during the warmer months too. Highly recommend and cannot wait to go back again!
Cozy breakfast/brunch spot with a great view of the city. Highly recommend the breakfast burger if you're into that egg stuff. Great variety on the menu otherwise with great people!
Update: Went back again and tried the peach oatmeal. Honestly just keep to the breakfast sandwiches and you'll want more everytime. 😝
We had been hoping to try Uncle Wolfie’s for the past year as we have heard only great things. We finally committed and it was well worth the wait! It definitely lived up to the reviews. We had brunch and went with the biscuits and gravy, some pancakes, and the breakfast burrito. All were really good. The people next to us had the French toast and it looked amazing as well and that’s definitely on our list for next time. Can’t wait to go back!
We went for a late lunch / brunch on a Thursday and were oh so happy we did. We started with a. Boozy Chai that was so good we both kept talking about it as we sipped. The. He got biscuits and gravy with two over medium eggs- upon arrival he wasn’t sure but holy cats his opinion changed the moment he took the first bite. The gravy was excellent- flavorful, the sausage the perfect size, and all in all just a touch of different in the best way. the biscuits were all at once flaky, chewy, with a bit of firmness on the edges. So so good.
I got the Wolfundido - Chorizo hash fundido- also with two eggs over medium and it was perfection. The exactly right level of spice and fattiness and veggie mouthfeel without being greasy or overwhelming. My side of bacon was cooked to perfection and our side of fries (from the gluten free fryer) and gluten free beer cheese dipping sauce were lovely.
We will absolutely be back.
Seriously, Milwaukee's spot at Vine and Hubbard. Mickey was absolutely the best host. Welcomed us with an amazing vibe. Hospitality 💯. Then the food. Stop that nonsense. Uncle Wolfe needs a fat kiss. Stuffed and wanting more. Understand my people. Make the time, I strongly suggest get here and smash some amazing food and sit in the welcoming vibe. Jelissa thank you for laughing with us.
Definitely worth the trip from Indiana.
Love and Light.
With Uncle Wolfies I can feel like a ‘normal’ woman out to brunch! Don’t get me wrong, many places put the GF behind items on their menu, but then let’s be honest, those with Celiac Disease know that after a couple questions, you quickly realize it’s not really GF and your hopes for deliciousness are shattered. If I’m being honest, rarely do I get my hopes up for such pie-in-the-sky things. Then I go out for brunch, fully expecting that salad will be my option…I see many GFs on the menu, I see a GF bun option, the server is busy so I have plenty of time to look through the menu…the only ‘breaded’ item is a cornmeal-crusted chicken sandwich…tension is rising…could it be??? I inquire of the server, if she knows if the fryer is dedicated GF…IT IS!!!!!! All the sandwiches, wraps, salads, and breakfasts options are mine! (Some minor negligible adaptations on a couple items.) And the fries…yes, the fries are gloriously crispy, seasoned, and fresh. Needless to say, I’m in love and will be back.
Worth the inevitable wait! The breakfast tavern is really popular for a reason and yes that does mean you'll have to wait for a table but I promise that it's worth it. The staff are great, the food is delicious. Put an egg on it, you'll be happy.
Cozy and friendly environment with classic comfort breakfast food! Cold brew was delicious. I had the little phatty sandwich with avocado which was basically a breakfast grilled cheese, and hit the spot. The tavern potatoes on the side were so crispy and delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
The food here was really good. Our server also excellent..now what brings this place down, politics and division should not be a part of a eating experience, they are still wearing masks and pushing that type of narrative.. it really took away from what could have been .
Excellent neighborhood spot with a line out the door. No problem tho, the bar has you covered until your table is ready. Menu is carefully curated to make you order 2 or more dishes and fill the table with flavor and leftovers.
Really great Brewer's Hill spot. We've been told to go and finally made it there after living in the area for 4 months.
Service very friendly, as if you were in a relative's house. Portions sizes were perfect. Wanted to stay longer because the place is inviting. Highly recommend.
Great place, I finally got to try it. I hate waiting around but we finally made it
Technically i would give it 4.75 stars. The only downgrade on the food was a lil skimpiness on the gravy on the biscuits on one of the 3 orders. The flavor was exceptional, and i might not have cared if that was the one i got, but the last time we were there it was sold out, so we had all been looking forward to trying it.
Even though there's usually a wait (first come first serve), you can order drinks while you wait. The service is always fantastic! Not to mention, delicious food. This is a Milwaukee must for me anytime I'm in town. I love it!
Great food. I'm from Ohio and was throughout impressed. You know it's good when locals are waiting for more than an hour for a table on a Friday morning.
I ordered the chicken sandwich for $17 and what came out was a small breaded chicken thigh on a bun. The flavor was good, but definitely not worth it. Was still hungry after.
I've tried to get here before a few times, but the wait is always 1hr or longer. After finally getting in, I can see why....because it's delicious!!! The space is small but they have utilized their space well with seating all around and counter top space. I went right at 8AM open and it took about 10mins for it to get filled up, I was part of the line outside, which was another sign this place has to be good. I was seated right away and the service was good, a couple times I had to ask for something more than twice, but this place was busy, so I understand. I ate biscuits with gravy, wolfundito and my partner had the pineapple inside-out toast. All plates were booming both visually and flavorfully. A good portion of food for the price. I will definitely go again to try the rest of the menu, just have to keep in mind the times to go for least amount of waiting time. If you're thinking about going. Go!
Great food, friendly staff, and a relaxed environment. We had one day in Milwaukee, and were glad we chose to brunch here! The biscuits are to die for (ask for it with the tomato butter) and the cauliflower omelette was fantastic. Definitely worth the wait!
A great place for breakfast or lunch. It's a 5 star restaurant with 2.5 stars for value. Prices are a few bucks extra over most lunches, and breakfasts elsewhere, but I'd say it's probably worth it for the great service and plentiful coffee. Fresh food, well prepared, and cozy atmosphere. Go during the week for a better no wait experience. I gather weekend waits are lengthy based on other reviews. Absolutely, loved the very Milwaukee "Beer goes with Breakfast" menu slogan. So Milwaukee!!!! If you're treating someone to breakfast or lunch, this is a great place to take them. Bon Appetit.
Food was amazingly delicious. The only drawback was the noise level. Way too loud, could hardly hear the waitress when she told about the specials.
Had brunch here on a Tuesday morning based on the recommendation of a local. Nice ambience. Busier than I expected for a Tuesday around 10 am. Don’t people work? Very hipster heavy.
Interesting menu with some vegetarian options. Ordered the Wolfundido - overall pretty pleased with the food. Very well seasoned. The portion is a bit skimpy considering the $14 price tag.
Very friendly service - attentive waitstaff.
Big van of Wolfies and one of the longest customers 😏 Every time we come to MKE we go to Wolfies.
Had their smash burger today and it was exactly what I needed this Saturday morning. Thanks!
Oh, and great cocktails!!!
Had to walk a mile from the hotel to get here, and had about a 25min wait to get a seat. Very popular local place out in the suburbs it feels like a home was converted into a restaurant
I ordered the Bloody Mary which came with a Rhinelander shorty beer to wash it down, have to say it was pretty damn good.
Very happy I made the walk for breakfast
For food, I went with the steak and eggs
This restaurant is busy when’s it’s busy, you can expect a wait but it’ll be worth it
Bon appetite
Great food, neighborhood vibe! This cozy little breakfast spot was just what a weekday coffee get together called for. The menu is a nice mix of sweet and savory, with gluten free and vegetarian options (I think there were also vegan choices) and, interestingly, a breakfast beer selection. We were greeted at the door and our server was wonderful, just the right level of attentiveness.
New visit today (9/23/2020)
Two smash patties, muenster cheese, garlic mashed poatoes, onion rings and gravy on a bun served with your choice of beer or cider from a nice diverse list of options.. I think I died and went to heaven. Holy @#*% it was good.
Caveat: I gave it my best, no-food-all-day college try and it would take a better (or larger) person than me to finish this bad mamma jamma. When I got the take out bag I thought they had given me the wrong order, it was so heavy. Nope. It was ALL mine. Every meaty, cheesy, garlicky potato pound of it. I decided against taking the remainder home, it didn't seem like it would travel well (see: onion rings) but I did squirrel away the garlic aioli which I plan to smear all over a baguette when I wake up from my food coma in a month or so.
I had the last pick up time for the afternoon and they close to get ready for dinner. They were SUPER nice and set up a chair and table to eat right there (glad I did, I'm sure hot from the kitchen only enhanced it's otherworldly deliciousness). They checked on my twice as they were cleaning and closing. Can't say enough about this afternoon's awesome experience.
Unique breakfast dining experience!
We were visiting from Chicago for an overnight getaway and some friends who live in the local area could not recommend the place enough.
The menu selection was incredibly inventive, taking traditional meals to the next level. **Pictured - roasted cauliflower Omlette**
We loved the inviting atmosphere and it was only a short wait (dined in before 10am) but we would wait an hour to come back here again.
Beautiful hidden gem that you have to come to enjoy the next time your in Milwaukee.
Family owned Breakfast lunch place that just opened up in that area. Small cozy atmosphere. The seating space is pretty small and there is usually a wait time here. There is a little shop in the back selling art and local stuff.
I came here for breakfast on a Sunday around 10:30. They told us our wait would be an hour but we ended up waiting more like an hour and a half and it seems this is the average wait time on the weekends. We started to get antsy so decided to order a Bloody Mary to hold us over - there’s a cute boutique attached so you can browse while you wait.
Bloody Mary was amazing! One of my favorite ones in Milwaukee. Food was tasty! BCSS and biscuits and gravy featured in pics below. For a breakfast place I was a little disappointed not to see certain popular breakfast items on the menu (ie., waffles) but still a lot to choose from. I don’t know that I would wait 90 minutes to come back again but would definitely be back if I could get in a little quicker.
Place was packed on NYD and staff was still so friendly despite being slammed. Beautiful vintage looking decor, unique menu items with the usual brunch suspects. Sat at the counter which was comfortable. Good coffee.
Addendum: Been back several times and always great food. Best bloody mary in Milwaukee! The staff is so friendly and really seem to enjoy working there and are proud of their product. Highly recommend. Be prepared to wait for a seat.
When I asked my friend why / how she decided we should eat here, your last name ( Wolffe)? Nope, Googled best place to eat breakfast and picked highest rating. She nailed it. 4 of us with 3 different orders ( 2 of us split our sandwiches so we could enjoy it more ).
Big McAllister on a sesame seed bun, onions, pickles, lettuce, special sauce , 2 all beef patties
Millie cheese steak. Coffee rubbed chuck steak, garlic pickled things, beer cheese sauce, mayo hoagie
Fried chicken sandwich with egg buttermilk brined , sriracha honey glazed fried chicken, roasted garlic aioli , lettuce, tomato, on a seeded bun.
Came for a late Sunday brunch and Wolfie's hit the spot. Their breakfast menu has a nice balance of classic standbys and more adventuresome options. I went for the latter and got the Sweet Potato Chorizo Omelet. Really interesting blend of savory and sweet flavors. I recommend the Irish coffee for colder days! Otherwise fast service, friendly faces, and great views of downtown.
Delicious food, friendly service and unique style. They are definitely delivering happiness. I had the roasted cauliflower omelet with tavern potatoes and my friend had the salmon Benedict.
Thank you!
Captain Save A Home
This was my second time to Uncle Wolfies, and I’d say both experiences were similar. The food is amazing, however they were blasting the AC so strongly that I wished I had a thick sweater, and I love a well air conditioned room. Service was also a bit slow, but the place was packed so it was understandable.
If you’re a fan of breakfast (and who isn’t?) you’ve got to try this spot. “The Belch” is their signature breakfast sandwich, and you can’t go wrong by choosing it. Get the tavern potatoes as a side. The breakfast burrito is also fantastic.
if you're wondering whether you should eat here, DO it. seriously. it's amazing. i've never had better food, the atmosphere is simultaneously classy and cozy, AND they run a beautiful little shop right next door! the staff is also lovely - you really can't go wrong eating here.
This place was great. They have a fun environment, friendly staff, and the food was even better than I had expected. While they were quite busy, the wait was not overly long. I would definitely eat here again.
1st time at this place and was very good, the burgers were done perfectly and juice. If you like cocktail, try the hibiscus negroni 😋 super good. We are definitely coming back to uncle wolfies. …
Great ambiance, amazing food, fantastic owners! My husband and I had been excited to enjoy Uncle Wolfies! The Beet Curred Salmon Benedict and the PB&J French Toast were excellent. The potatoes served with the Benedicts were probably the best potatoes I've had! We both enjoyed oatmilk cortados and a bloody mary! If we lived closer, this would be our everyday breakfast stop! Orange and Blue Co. is located in the opposite side of the building and is an adorable store. We liked that we could check out items or sit in a cute waiting area before being sat. We can't wait to come back and try a million other items! Congratulations on your opening and beautiful space you've created!
We had a party of seven that was waited on by Abby. She did a fine job keeping up with our demands. The food ordered came out perfectly. Everyone of us was satisfied that we had ordered the perfect breakfast. Would go here again if in Milwaukee!
Such a cute spot! Brunch was fantastic and the service was good. It’s small, but worth it. I will come here every time I visit Milwaukee. I went to a few brunch spots this past weekend, and Uncle Wolfie’s was the best.
Also, get their shrimp special if they have it! I’m still craving it days later
The breakfast sandwich was delicious. They have a creative cocktail menu. Staff was friendly and willing to make recommendations.
First the good - I ordered the steak and eggs. It was pretty darn good. i was surprised because not many places in Milwaukee have managed to nail it but i would come back again and again for this! The potatoes were also excellent. I also got the wolfe's paw and it was a very light cocktail, nice and refreshing. Now for the bad - First i would like to say that i am bummed that you cant make a reservation at this place so its super hit or miss as to how long you will have to wait to sit. The first time i went the wait was 1.5 hours on a Sunday morning. I had even tried calling ahead to check to see how long the wait was and it was just an answering machine. i asked when are you not as busy and the host said usually weekday mornings and right when they open at 8 on the weekend but by 8:15 the day before there was already a wait. Im not sure if you can leave and come back because the host made it seem like everyone on the list was waiting in this side room and that people had been getting bumped up since others had been leaving. So not only can you not make a reservation or get in line with an app but i think you also have to stay and wait the whole time because they do roll call and remove people from the list. But i took the hosts advice i got there at 8 am on the following Saturday morning and i was seated right away. However since the space is small it became very loud quickly and was difficult to hear the person across the table from me. Also there are only 7 or so tables and several times the wait staff would come out and not know whos drink or food they had and would go around to the tables to ask. There are only 7 tables how do you not know? Anyway the food was good, the wait staff was ok, the noise was too loud, and generally the wait is long. i would come back again to eat at the bar alone early in the morning.
Super staff deliciously prepared food. I went really early because it gets very busy quickly, Wishing they had more space
Fun place in a nice part of town. Can get a bit loud and service is not always very attentive or timely.
Great food, great staff, great drinks. The only down side is it needs to be in a space twice as big so I can go there more often and get a seat!
First of all it was a beautiful summer day so we sat outside for breakfast. There was not a large variety of options on the menu but I loved the fact that the choices available were NOT your typically breakfast options. I selected the pulled pork tostada with an overeasy egg on top and my friend decided to try the biscuits and gravy which she enjoyed. There was also a stuffed pb&j french toast which I had never heard of before and I'm willing to try on my next visit. Oh and the potatoes were an added bonus. The cocktail options were also interesting...I sipped on the supposta which is lambrusco and oj. But I also tried the rum Chai vanilla which was a bit too strong for my liking. If you like trying different kinds of food give it a try.
A great spot for breakfast and craft coffee!
We stumbled upon it while we were in Milwaukee for a convention. I can’t wait to come back to
Milwaukee and go again!
My favorite brunch spot in Milwaukee! The food is always delicious!
If you can, stop by Uncle Wolfie's on a weekday when the lines aren't out the door. On the weekends there is a crazy wait for a table, but with good reason. The meals have interesting touches that elevate them to something extra special. The pickled veggies on their loaded fries have some kind of magic quality, the coffee rubbed pork in the breakfast burrito is tender and flavorful and their special blend of Anodyne coffees makes for some of the best lattes and cortados in the city. Don't forget to stop by the shop nextdoor while you're there!
Easily one of the breakfast places I’ve ever been to. Staff were amazing as well!
Had to wait for a while for a table for Saturday brunch, but that's to be expected. Great breakfast menu, really nice atmosphere, very friendly service. I found my dish a little too salty but tasty.
This was a great place to have breakfast. They have a unique menu and a bar, if you want more of a brunch feel. The staff was very friendly and aware.
The staff and food are awesome. Their potatoes are the best brunch taters in town. Bloodies are on point. Can’t wait to go back!
Weeee loooooveee youuuuu!
Exquisite service, wonderful food, darling interior, perfect exterior, and an adorable outdoor seating cat. Bravo, Uncle Wolfie’s!
I can take it or leave it. Good food, even though it was sitting on the counter 5 minutes before our server gave it to us. We were more amazed by the guy making coffee like an art form. Good job guy.
From the first minute you arrive, you are feeling welcomed. Then the food....awesome brunch. Ingredients well selected, seasoning on point. Coffee the way I should be brewed. I will give 5.5 stars out of 5. Keep up the good work and you'll be legendary
Have your vac. card (or photo of it), an ID and a mask! Almost didn't get in as soon couldn't find the right card pic! Service at Noon was great, and while busy, it wasn't crowded. Food was good, X3, with minor things: one entree was "less warm" than liked, and one was a bit heavy on oil. Biggest issue was simply down to seating location! Sitting on window side, a distinct draft made itself known. Just seemed to be the one window vs the entire side. All in all, a great way and place to get back out there!! We'll absolutely be back!
It's been a long time since I have had such a great overall experience. The food far exceeded expectations, absolutely delicious!! Customer service was fantastic. Unknowingly had conversations with the owners who were extremely welcoming. Cant wait to go back!
I went to Uncle Wolfie's this past Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend with a friend of mine for brunch around noon, and we had a fantastic time. The host and the two bartenders who waited on us were so friendly and attentive, and they really made our experience fun. I ordered the Beltch breakfast sandwich with these smashed potatoes and garlic aioli that the bartender had recommended, and everything was flavorful and delicious. If you want a bright spot to your weekend, I'd highly suggest spending a few hours here for brunch.
Similar to many brunch places around Milwaukee, we had to wait about 45 minutes for a table, but there is a boutique attached to the restaurant that you can spend some time in and there are also some tables outdoors. It's worth the wait.
Superb! Food and drinks were perfection. Tiny space so plan to wait.
We were not terribly impressed with the hostess taking orders. She seemed a bit distracted & aloof. While I appreciate keeping things safe with Covid, the process did not seem to be the most effective & the amount time to wait for breakfast food seemed fairly long. I understood that they were taking delivery orders too but to wait an hour for food after they just opened seemed long The food was great when we finally received it though maybe a tad salty on the potatoes. I do wish that they would rethink their outdoor seating process a bit & make it a little friendlier for customers.
Wife loved her biscuits and gravy. Said it was the best she'd ever had. I had a burrito. It was delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the onions.
The biscuits and gravy are phenomenal! Homemade at it's best. My friends breakfast burrito looked delicious as well. Beautiful view as you can only eat on the patio. First come first serve so get there early.
Fantastic breakfast spot. Housemade bloody Mary mix was delicious.
It was my first time at uncle wolfies but it won't be my last ! The food was great and the affordable!
OMG 😍. Had the cauliflower omelette and shared the Classic Eggs Benedict. So so good. Highly recommend this place. Can't wait to come back. …
Been here once and ordered take out a few times— it’s delicious but the wait times are atrocious. Haven’t been able to dine in in years because the wait times each time we’re here are just not amenable to our morning schedules/if we had a busy morning etc., which is unfortunate. You’d have to show up right at opening/early or just be okay waiting up to 2 hours for a seat sometimes which is just irritating to me personally when I am hungry on a lazy Sunday:( but really good food the times I have been able to have it (amongst all the times I’ve tried to have it lol)
Our party of 4 visited for brunch on just the 2nd. day of them re-opening for indoors dining after closing for the pandemic. Unsurprisingly, there was a long wait of close to 2 hours which was communicated to us when we registered - so no surprises. The wait outside in the cold weather was mitigated by the presence of several tables together with patio heaters and QR codes for ordering drinks. Bloody Mary's and hot Irish coffees and Rum Chai's were ordered (twice) and arrived within 10 minutes of being ordered.
Once inside, the food service was efficient and the food (and cocktails) were as good and plentiful as we remembered from before the pandemic. It was well worth the wait outside. Uncle Wolfie's has reduced the table density and has all of its staff wearing masks. The vast majority of customers were adhering to mask wearing as they were moving around the restaurant. We're really happy that they have reopened and will definitely return!
A place for brunch with soul. A great vibe, super friendly staff, and wonderfully delicious food. The bloody mary, complete with a Rhinelander pony was the perfect way to start our breakfast. Their Playlist of 70's R&B, funk and soul was the "cherry on the brunchfast sundae", so to speak. We're really looking forward to Milwaukee and Uncle Wolfie's again.
Excellent service in an intimate setting, the food is amazing a great place to grab breakfast or brunch! Definitely worth the wait!
This place is my new favorite breakfast spot. Awesome menu with nice variety, fast and efficient service, and delicious food with quality ingredients. I will definitely be back soon!
The food was really great, and is definitely a contender for my favorite Eggs Benedict. There are a lot of other cool options, like a Benedict with raw salmon, and a French toast similar themed like pineapple upside-down cake.
The staff is really friendly, knowledgeable, and serve great coffee.
The wait however was horrible! They have barely any tables, and it's clearly very popular. Expect a long wait. At least there's a small gift shop, if nothing else.
The place also has a terrible draft. I've never been to a colder restaurant. It was freezing when I was there last week, and I suspect it will be like that until Milwaukee thaws again.
It's been a minute since we've been to Uncle Wolfies but the food and service was just as wonderful as we remembered. Hope to make it back soon.
Great breakfast and drinks, was a bit of a wait but well worth it✌️
The food was amazing a d the drinks were mixed perfect, definitely will come back again and again!
Friendly, great food, listen about special diet needs.
However chicken was over cooked.
I had loaded fries and a dark & stormy. Delicious! Great wait staff and patio! Thank you!
We popped up to MKE from Illinois for a long weekend and grabbed carry out from Uncle Wolfie’s on a whim after checking out of our hotel on our way out of town. They’re only doing carry out at the moment but during open hours you’re welcome to dine outside at their patio tables which we did. The food was AMAZING, especially the breakfast potatoes which were some of my favorite I’ve ever had. I had the BLETCH sandwich and my boyfriend had the little fatty and French toasts. We also got cold brew and an iced dirty chai. Everything was excellent, the carry out food was packaged carefully and conveniently and the staff was super friendly. Would absolutely recommend this place.
Amazing brunch place. Really nice lovely atmosphere. The menu is really well put together. Everything we had was great. French toast is on point.
Absolutely delicious food and great service. They accommodated my large family and were really sweet about dealing with my two young children. Their beet smoked salmon was amazing, as were the potatoes that come with their breakfasts. Also, they have a really great diverse drink list. I will definitely return!!
Um. EXCUSE ME.
When did this delicious little gem of a spot show up?? The location is so adorable it makes me angry.
The food.
The. Food. It tastes like it loves you back.
Go here now.
They’re not open?
Go wait outside until they are.
You think I’m kidding? I am, that’s super creepy.
But seriously go here ASAP. The food, drinks, and staff were all immeasurably delightful, plus there’s a swanky neighborhood cat who slinks about, minding his own damn business—and we love that.
Wolfie’s is where it’s effing at.
If you know you know.
If you don’t, go find out.
Great atmosphere, friend staff and amazing food! Had the pulled pork breakfast tostada-fantastic.
This is the best brunch I've had in a long time! I've been there twice already and had a great experience both times. We had a long wait both times but it's worth it and it's nice that they have a small waiting area in the back. The first time we went our drink order was missed, but as soon as we asked it was rectified. It was incredibly busy so we understood. The food was great and well seasoned. Our server Dean was attentive and friendly. Great to have a new go-to breakfast/brunch place!
I love every time I come here. I have been here for brunch, breakfast, new years, and during the pizza pop up and Uncle Wolfie's is a favorite, for sure. They always go above and beyond. The lunch specials are huuuge, the breakfast is the best breakfast I ever had, and they do bomb pizza? What? They're magic. Just eat here already. Go do it. And go shop at their store too! They're great!
Ate Brunch here for first time today, They take COVID precautions seriously, and I like that! Nice to have outdoor seating available. The gentleman taking our order was full of energy, and added an extra boost to the experience. Food was good. Mimosa was expensive but that’s okay. Was dog friendly outside, so that was fantastic. Enjoy!
let’s hear it for uncle wolfie’s to-go bloody mary. who knew it was exactly what was needed for a sunny fall afternoon! not to mention the hot chicken/mac n cheese burrito which was over. the. top.
Very personal with amazing food choices. Must go.
If you’re on the east side or even anywhere near downtown, make sure you stop for breakfast. One of the best views of the city along with unmissable entrees. Favorites are the breakfast burrito and the Johnny cakes. Also many vegan options for those needing it.
Also saw the staff handle an extremely rude customer with nothing but kindness and generosity; to people who were opposed to some of the window decorations ....
Props to the food AND the awesome people who work here. Don’t miss it.
For a new restaurant, I was impressed by how smooth their operation was. Food was very good, though execution could stand to improve a bit (ordered my steak and eggs medium rare, and it came out pretty well done). I was a little surprised that they were doing a brunch take out, particularly on a busy weekend shortly after opening. It seemed to slow down the kitchen and cause some traffic jams with customers coming in to pick up food. I understand the desire of an owner/operator to cash in on the take out crowd without the added overhead of more seating, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the dine in crowd.
All that said, I'm excited to go back at some point and see how they're doing... because the food was really, really good.
Excellent breakfast! I got the steak and eggs, skipped the sauce on the NY strip. The steak is dry aged 40 days and it was amazing. The potatoes were great as well, never had potatoes quite in that fashion. For under $20, it was a truly amazing breakfast. My friend had the PB&J stuffed French toast on the largest piece of homemade bread. She said it was delicious as well!
Decent food, every order came out looking amazing. Hard to choose, I had the biscuits and gravy. Difficult to find b+g done correctly, and I was not disappointed.
Attached retail store is a fun way to kill time while waiting for a table. They also have a nice lounge area, that could probably be better utilized for more tables, but it is a nice touch. Atmosphere is welcoming, warm, and decently quiet.
Will be returning!!
Food was lovey, coffee was also great. The semi take out semi dine in scheme (everything delivered in take out containers to a table outside) seemed wasteful but I suppose thats a covid leftover? Summer veggie omelet with sour dough ‘slapped’ as the kids say
Edit: 9/7/21 had to knock a star off this rating as its seemed impossible as of late to actually get food here. A wait of 45-145 minutes is apparently typical. I had to call to confirm the 145 minute number and sure enough even if I placed a order at 9:30 i was going to be eating no earlier than 11:45
Great brunch spot! Atmosphere is awesome! Everyone is so friendly, I felt right at home. I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs. The gravy was delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Coffee and espresso delicious. They have a talented barista on staff pulling some great shots. Highly recommended overall.
Terrific place for brunch. Had a delicious salad and Bloody Mary. Service was spot on. Will be back for sure. Only negative was the wait... but to be expected for the great food and service. There is a "waiting room" with seating and shopping, so makes it not seem quite as long.
Absolutely a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Atmosphere is phenomenal. Staff is incredibly friendly. I've been here multiple time and every time I get something new. The entire menu is incredible!! I can't think of a better place to get breakfast. A phenomenal tavern.
Best breakfast in Milwaukee. Breakfast burrito is a must try. Johnny cakes are delicious.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, the staff were friendly and attentive.
My wife and I were visiting from Dallas and we came here twice in 2 days. Incredible both times. The second time, we waited over an hour. Not many places can deliver after that long of a wait and they absolutely did. The sausage is made in-house and was incredible. Highly recommend. Really cool spot.
Before covid i came here for eggs benedict and bloody marys with tiny Rhiney chaser. Best combo ever. I visited often and brought friends. Now post covid i want the bens and bloody... current menu doesn't list and text contact gets no response. Haven't phoned yet as i know this place is crazy busy and i don't want to bother the workflow. But umma hungry. So giving 5 stars for memories and seeing if i get hit back. Or...umma call.
Came here for the first time yesterday and it was phenomenal. Had the best Irish coffee I’ve ever had and the classic Benedict was delicious. Met the owners and they were very nice and appreciative of our business. Highly recommended. I will definitely be back.
This is amazing coffee every thing’s 10/10 👍🏻 …
Such a cozy atmosphere it felt like I was at someone's home not a restaurant! There was a short wait due to it being the weekend but we were seated in a comfortable lounge area where we could order drinks. When seated staff was friendly and prompt. Food was unique and delicious. Will definitely be back again!
Great brunch spot! We finally came here for brunch and really enjoyed how delicious our food was.
When we reached there was about a 30 min wait and we were ok with it. However it took much longer than that. They have a waiting area at the back unlike other places where you have to wait outside. The waiting area is connected to a cute little store at the back and you can explore it while you wait. They also have a backyard garden area with tons of chairs that is great during summer.
The dinning space itself is very small - holds about 6-8 tables plus a lot of space in the bar area. We told the host that we could do either the bar or the table because judging by the amount of table, it could be a much longer wait.
For food we ordered the cauliflower omelette with truffle oil and it was sooooo good! We also got the pineapple in and out as well as a breakfast burrito. We loved the burrito and it had tons of flavor in it, and the pineapple in and out was just ok. I would love to come back and try out some more of their other offerings and really really hope we don’t have to wait for that long!
Wonderful new breakfast spot. We we're seated right away (a Monday morning around 10am). I got the eggs benedict, they were delicious and filling! Very friendly wait staff, the atmosphere was nice as well. I will definitely be a frequent customer.
I loved the way they handled take out during this covid time. Customers have to wait outside for their food, and the restaurant posted a sign, asking them to stay ten feet apart. When your order was ready, your food was put on a table, and the server had a mask and gloves on. The food was also excellent. I highly recommend them for breakfast!
This place is amazing! The food, the staff, its such a cute little hidden gem. We had the "classics". Steak & eggs. Candied bacon granola. Both were delicious! I will definitely be back...with friends!
Don't go if you're in a rush because they don't take reservations, and wait time is probably gonna be long... Worth the wait though because the food is AMAZING. The beet cured salmon is very unique and delicious and the loaded fries are a MUST HAVE. The owner is very charasmtic and involved, giving the whole tavern a very homey feel. Definitely a great spot for lunch and brunch!!
Amazing food. Tiny restaurant. Highly recommend! If you don't get there within 15 minutes of it opening on a Saturday or Sunday, you'll wait at least 45 minutes to an hour and a half. I would say it's worth it to wake up early and get there at open, but not worth it to wait 45 minutes when it's the morning and you're hungry. Breakfast potatoes were INCREDIBLE
Every now and then I run across a place that just completely rocks the Wisconsin aura. Super friendly, decent prices, amazing food. Our waitress was genuine, helpful and came around enough to serve but not intrude. I had a bloody and a dish called a Beltchy ( not sure on that spelling). It was so good I want to come back tomorrow. Atmosphere is pure Milwaukee, with hardwood everything and smiling bar staff. Overall not one note misplayed.
Busy place and outdoor dining or take out only. Waited a while for food, but they were very upfront about the timing. Worth the wait and gave us plenty of time to socialize outside on a gorgeous fall day. 👍 …
This Bloody Mary was KILLER. We loved the atmosphere and the gorgeous space. The menu is simple and care was taken in every detail, making it an excellent overall experience. If you love great food and great people, you just found your spot <3
Had breakfast Monday morning, TV station happened to be at the restaurant at time of visit. Seated immediately, great service from Dean and the food was really about as great as breakfast can be. Have a Bloody Mary, the mix is fantastic and the drink is garnished very well. We will definitely be back.
We had an amazing brunch this morning and our server Dean was fantastic! He was very sweet and made us feel right at home. We’re not from the area, but if we are ever passing through we will definitely stop again. This place was worth the hour long wait.
Nice small Cafe for lunch. Had the burger which was really good. My wife always gets the chicken salad sandwich which she loves. Friendly staff. Be ready to listen in to everyone conversations since you are packed in tight.
This place is awesome. We found it on a lark and now every visit back to Milwaukee or Marquette will include a meal here. Everything was so tasty. Our favorite was the belch sandwhich and the potatoes and fries are some of best I've ever had. Not to mention, the owner Wolfgang is so personal and enjoyable. This was so worth the wait. And wait was not as long as expected. Got to come here.
Out of town, searched online for a breakfast spot before heading back home. Blindly selecting the cool name, thinking it was a main local choice from the old days. No it was a GREAT Hipster spot. Loved IT!! Couldn't Leave IT!!! The energy of the staff and their ultra friendliness and amazing menu. We feasted on Johnny Cakes stacked to the heavens, Eggs Benedict with shredded Canadian bacon and eggs poached to perfection, and a side of Biscuits & Gravy. We always taste Biscuits and Gravy while traveling...looking for the best...finding the worst mostly. THIS IS THE BEST, not Southern, but a more modern flavorful Biscuits & Gravy for those that dare to awaken their taste buds!!! Heading back home we couldn't have their Bloody Mary with Usinger sausage and cheese curd with a Rhinelander Beer chaser. They were serving so many of these it sealed our decision to return soon.
Amazing! We had a longer wait, but that's to be expected. Smaller seating area but that makes it feel more intimate. The vibe was very warm, homey and classy but without pretention. The drip coffee was delightful, we really enjoyed the eclectic mug assortment. There was a waiting area in the back where you could hangout and drink while waiting for a table. Wolfgang (whom I believe to be the owner) was so kind and welcoming. Love supporting this place and will be back VERY soon.
Also, any place that plays Neutral Milk Hotel is a winner in my book.
The BEST biscuits and gravy I have ever had! A bit pricey, but after the first bite, you will know why.
They treat you like family, and go out of their way to make sure you leave full and happy.
Really delicious well prepared brunch. Space has been well renovated. Service was good and prices fair. I would like to see more vegetarian options or substitutions available. The breakfast potatoes are sooo fried and amazing!
The food and atmosphere are both outstanding. The staff is friendly and personable. Have been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The decor is well thought out and gorgeous. Definitely check out the boutique at the back while you wait!
What can you say that hasn't been said before. It's perfect food, perfect drinks, perfect atmosphere if you like classy but very approachable and intimate settings. The food has a slight bent towards a Mexican edge to some of their savory food, but my friend swears by the johnnycakes, so it's all there. I'm biased, I live around the corner, I get to go there early before the masses arrive. Lucky me!
This was my second visit. I wanted to give it 5 stars but just couldn't this time. Our waitress was great as usual. Now the downsize. I ordered the steak and eggs ($18.00). Eggs were seasoned just right. The steak ? On a scale of 1-5. I can only give it a 1. Grisel, tough , and just not good. But, hey I paid and was on my way. Would I go back ? Sure. Will I order steak and eggs ? Never
what a lovely place! the atmosphere, the food, and the people were all lovely. I ordered some eggs benedict Florentine that were so flavorful I regretted adding hot sauce to them. After my meal I had a chat with Uncle Wolfie himself to let him know how much I enjoyed my experience. I know where I'm going to eat next time I'm in Milwaukee
Nice selection of breakfast food. All of the options are a bit different than what you would normally get at a breakfast place so that is a nice change. The view of the city from the outside seating is very good. Also, the taste of the dishes were very good.
Awesome location - you can see Milwaukee's downtown area in the distance. Awesome food - I had the breakfast burrito and bloody mary. The sweet patotoes and pork perfectly complimented each other on the burrito. Will definitely come back many times in the future.
I had the chorizo verde tostada, and it was absolutely the best breakfast I have ever had. The contrast of the warm, savory chorizo, the creaminess of the queso fresco, the brightness of the mango slaw, and then the little crunch from the tostada. Excellent. The coffee and espresso were also both fantastic. The atmosphere reminded me of the hip little coffee shops up in Northern California. If I lived in Milwaukee, I'd go here every day.
*SPECTACULAR*
Am in town for work (Summerfest) and had the pleasure of brunching here today. Beautiful space, AMAZING food and drink, and friendly, personal, yet professional staff and Proprietors. Great music.
Lovely boutique with new and vintage items carefully curated. And, excellent prices.
I will DEFINITELY be back before I go home to San Francisco.
Food is delicious, spot is cozy, staff is attentive and owners are wonderful. I was too focused on my food to take a good picture. Just imagine a tasty breakfast, good coffee, and a local beer.
Yes, I am reviewing this restaurant, not the one across the street.
Very, very amazing food. Service was great. Taking COVID safety precautions seriously.
It's a cozy restaurant tucked in a quiet neighborhood with a view of Milwaukee. The food is absolutely delicious and bloody Marys are bomb! Our server Jaylen was so polite and attentive. The service was great! Can't wait to visit again!
Hipster breakfast places don't typically deliver, but this one sure did. Great waiting space while you wait. We split the french toast and the breakfast burrito and both were spot on. Very healthy mimosa pours, and great bloody mary's.
Fantastic service. The owner took the time amidst working behind the bar to come over and cheer up our little guy who was having a rough morning. That gesture alone would have earned a 5 star rating from me, but the food was just as amazing as that show of hospitality.
It's so wonderful to have a place like Uncle Wolfie's in the neighborhood. Everything on the menu is exceptionally good. They've also handled pandemic times very well and responsibly. Their online ordering system is great. I feel like ordering from them almost every week.
Literally the best breakfast I’ve had in a while. Bread was perfectly toasted, the sausage has a lot of unexpected flavor (herbs spices etc) and the damn potatoes are just...incredible.
I'm really excited about this place. Our meal was great and there are about a dozen more things on the menu I'm eager to try. No matter what else you order, treat yourself to a biscuit and jam on the side... Remarkably scrumptious.
I'm going to give it five stars because the food you could tell was quality. but this place just wasn't my cup of tea, I don't know what the hype is, I waited a very long time to eat here, nothing really impressed me. but everyone else obviously seems to like it. So I'm giving it five stars, and I will end this review by suggesting you go check it out for yourself.
First time visitor. In July so we could only eat outside. Tables along the building and a lovely garden area in back. All sanitary protocols observed. Such a friendly staff. Oh. And the food selections are delicious! Very charming! Really, stop in !
This place is poorly marked, and if it wasn't on the corner we might have left without finding it. So keep that in mind. It's essentially a corner bar, with breakfast food. Which is great. It's not the most fancy place, but it is fun. We say at the bar, which honestly, i might only want to do from now on. There bartenders/baristas are so nice, super attentive, and just overall great. Check it out!
Great new breakfast/lunch place in the Brewer's Hill neighborhood. My pancakes were wonderful - can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu. Cute store/waiting area.
This place is legitimate. Stopped in for lunch and had the chicken sandwich...the honey sriracha on the sandwich was amazing. Wife had the breakfast burrito and loved it! Eat here, it has good food and the people are super chill.
Update: I gave it another shot on 3/12/19. Another Tuesday, this time not very busy, and again sitting at the bar. Water came right away this time, but no ice. Took 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered food and that took about 30 minutes. My friend was not asked if he wanted more coffee, while sitting at the bar. If drinks aren't being monitored while sitting at the bar, what is the bartender doing? Disappointing guys! With so many other options in Milwaukee, why would I go here for "meh" service? Reduced to 3 stars.
--
I visited on their second day being open -- very busy! It took about 5 minutes to get a seat, and about 10 minutes to get coffee/water, at around 10am on a Tuesday. The wait to get coffee/water was slightly irritating (I was even sitting at the bar), but again, this was only their second day open. The staff was friendly and very busy. My burrito and side of sausage were delicious. I would go back again in the future.
The food here was so good! I highly recommend checking it out! The employees were nice and helpful too. We visited from out of town and they gave us some recommendations.
The beet cured salmon is truly the best thing I have ever had. So unique and flavorful (and pretty!). Wolfie is super friendly and makes sure everyone is having a good time. This is a great place and very worth the wait.
Food was great, had the huevos verdes y jamon, and the setting is wonderful! Was disappointed in the service, however. Started really well, but after our food came out we weren't checked on. I could understand at first, as the place was very busy, but it wasnt until it was time for a check that any server so much as made eye contact. I would absolutely go back, but I would hope to get some better service.
In town for a show and tried Uncle Wolfies for breakfast the next day. Seriously stop what you're doing and go there now. Did you already have breakfast? Who cares, go have another one. Go now. Would drive 330 mi again to have breakfast here. Great food, cool staff.
Food was good. Nothing outstanding. Would like an appetizer menu or something sweet, but had to order an entree for an app. The fruit flies though. Need to do a better job of covering up the bar/food.
Food was amazing! Tavern potatoes and burrito were to die for! Only thing that could have been better is signage. As my husband said, “had it not been for a picture of the outside of the building, we wouldn’t have known which building it was!”
Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern is a new choice in Milwaukee eats just west of the river on a corner of Vine Street.
When you walk into the tavern (truly harking back to the great days when Milwaukee had taverns every few blocks, where you could have a drink AND a decent meal among your neighbors), you immediately are drawn to the center of the room where a beautiful "oval" bar sits with retro tiles beneath the bar stools and period lighting perfectly aligned above the dark, mellow wood structure.
The ambiance is further enhanced by the restored wood floor adjoining cream city brick at the high walls with large windows. The bench seating running the perimeter is comfortable and cozy with locally crafted cushions - that doesn't do them justice, they are artisan crafted. The tables and chairs aligned with the bench are intimate and allow for a relaxing conversation.
We sat at the bar for our first visit to enjoy breakfast. Ordering a perfect cuppa joe - smooth to the palate with a rich aftertaste, yet little or no acidity, it really was surprising to find the coffee is so good!
There were too many options and knowing I could order from the lunch menu as well didn't help.
Upon the recommendation of the congenial bartender, we both decided to order The Beltch - a perfectly fried egg (the yolk cooked just to the point of being a sauce and not a runny mess) on the freshest greens, steak sliced bacon, unseasonably delicious tomato, and an aioli sauce with just a bit of kick and full of taste, all perfectly sitting on a toasted (on the grill?) bread with a complimentary texture to the egg and company. Wow! It will be hard to come back another eleven times and not order this again (but I have to try so many other delectable menu choices)!
The Beltch comes with a side of colorful smashed house potatoes, lightly seasoned. The outer skins just under crisp with a fluffy flavorful interior with no greasy butter or oil. These purple and gold potatoes were perfect and out of the ordinary.
You can have breakfast cocktails with your meal, but I am awaiting the promised coffee-bloody-Mary, a mocktail coming soon. Wolfgang, the owner, and the bartender (I neglected to get his name), said they want to perfect the mocktail before adding it to the menu.
The price is reasonable and Uncle Wolfie's has raised the bar on what tavern food can be. They have promised to tweak the menu from time to time, so I need to drive into the city (from Ozaukee County) more often to get to the menu items I want before some may disappear.
For an establishment in its third week, Uncle Wolfie's has the customer service, culinary skills, and the ambiance perfectly in sync. I highly recommend you get there. Weekends may be more crowded but it will be worth your wait!
I went for the first time today and I can't wait to go back and try more menu items! Had the pulled pork tostada and it was delicious! Great atmosphere, great staff/service. Do yourself a favor and go.
So so good. Recently moved from To Chicago from MKE and had been meaning to visit. From the decor, to the music, to the ingredients used, this place is good stuff. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy had those buttery, crisp edges that are so hard to get just right and the gravy was flavorful and just the right amount without having your biscuits swimming in it. (Unless that’s your jam, which is also chill)
My cortado was perfection and everyone from the moment you walk in the door is so genuine. The wait was short because I got to wait in such a pretty space and browse Orange and Blue Company next door Will visit again the next time I’m in milwaukee.
Pretty, quiet neighborhood location. Casual, sidewalk dining. I had a burrito -- yummy! The potatoes were some of the best I have ever had.
Is a building that has been empty for years , beautiful location , great history.
I hesitate to say how good this was today , is a small restaurant that will be incredibly busy soon.
Eggs Benedict and french toast were both excellent.
Fun atmosphere. Waited about an hour. I got the steak and eggs. The taste was outstanding. However, I ordered my steak medium rare and there was not even a hint of pink.
Excellent food, atmosphere, and the owners are incredible and friendly people. The wait can be a bit high at busy times, but you can browse the attached store and get cocktails while you wait (:
Beware the 45 minute wait on Sunday morning, not many places to hang your coat or sit around while you wait. However the Benedict is AMAZING, literally said wow during my first bite. PB&J french toast was a little too rich, wish there was a little less PB and more blackberries. Would be five stars if it weren't for the wait
First timers- OMG!!! Adorable space, fantastic food and service. And wonderful retail boutique! I appreciated the design details. BELTCH and burrito- YUM! Excellent bloody with a great kick. Delicious Anodyne coffee. You MUST go!!
I love this place. There is very good breakfast here while you enjoy soulful music. The menu includes seasoned eggs, Johnny cakes, sweet potatoes and more. There is a bar onsite.
Had a great time sitting at the bar. The bloody Mary’s were delicious and the food was even better! ... we will definitely be back. The owner is someone Milwaukee should be proud to support.
Bring your appetite, great portions, great dishes, it was a great experience, staff, customers, it's just a happy place, the tables on either side of us were very friendly, it was like going to breakfast with a lot of friends. Amazing place.
Fantastic place to ear brunch. Hope I have chance to come back again.
I never knew I would think a plain piece of toast could taste so good. I got the Phatti (I may have misspelled this) with Avocado. I can't express how delicious it is!! *chefs kiss* Thanks for the amazing food!!
My favorite restaurant. I’m someone who usually gets a “usual” order at each place I frequent. At Wolfies, I’ve tried several things from the menu and I am never disappointed. And their fries with their fancy sauce ALWAYS have to be in the order.
The eggs hollandaise with bacon was wonderfully different and delicious. The choices of their bacon wil please bacon lovers. Presentation was perfect. Coffee kicked as. Price was extremely affordable at $10. The atmosphere is very warm with awesome architecture meeting MKE sunlight. Owners Wolf and Witt are locals who have renovated a vacant four 40 year building. Adjacent is Orange and Blue a woman biz sourced retail for those who dig that stuff. I'll be back to try more real soon! Great representation of MKE spirit. Back kitchen awesome!
Other than the pickle, everything was outstanding. Forget the fries, get the smashed breakfast potatoes... unique and delicious. Great place, great food, and a good view. Highly recommend.
Very good just a little pricey but unique in there both breakfast and lunch only menu. Today l tried the biscuits and gravy nice chunks of sausage eggs perfect, service great, thanks Teresa.
My wife and I loved this place – 5 stars – great view, clean, elegant, great food, great service, amazing coffee, – not very busy on weekday / Wednesday. (I wish all places were like this one – My wife think that prices are reasonable for what they offer)
Best breakfast potatoes of my entire life! Just tried Uncle Wolfie's for the first time today and holy cannoli, my stomach and heart are filled with love & food. 😋 …
Easily the best food, people, atmosphere in Milwaukee. The owners are so amazing/thoughtful/warm, the food is so perfectly prepared and seasoned, the atmosphere is effortlessly cool and so cozy and the staff make you feel instantly at home. 💗 …
Favorite place to get brunch when we can!
The owner's are very friendly. My wife had steak, egg, and tavern potatoes which was very good. I had the breakfast special which also was very good. The has a nice waiting area .
INCREDIBLE salmon sandwich, sweet potato pie French toast, and lattes. Absolutely delicious food with fantastic service
Favorite place, best breakfast in all of Milwaukee!
WOW! Great service, and DELICIOUS FOOD. A bit of a wait but the food makes it all worth it.
I got the breakfast burrito which was awesome. The pulled pork tasted like "Pernil", my Puerto Rican folks know! Try it out!
Nice new breakfast/lunch place in scenic Brewer's Hill with a wonderful ambiance and good food. Only downside is that it's nearly impossible to get into this place after 10am on the weekend because they don't accept reservations or have an online wait list option like a lot of places are doing nowadays.
Best brunch joint in town, great food, great bloodies. Staff are all super friendly and the owner Wolfie is really involved. Such a great example of old architecture being valued and done right, good job guys!
Delicious food. Accommodating staff. Very busy for weekend brunch, so plan on a wait if there are more than 2-people.
Enjoyed the salmon sandwich very much. And I'm not a huge seafood fan. Their fries are surprisingly good!
This place was awesome. Found it online while vacationing here in Milwaukee. The food was really amazing. The coffee was excellent. Not a large place which I really enjoy. Will definitely be coming back.
So glad Uncle Wolfie’s is open again! Yummy food, great decor and friendly professional staff. A good amount of gluten free options.
YUM!! Incredible food and super nice staff. I got the lil phattie breakfast sandwich and it was *chefs kiss* delicious. Do not sleep on this place!!
If I could give more than 5 stars it would be to the limit!! Great food, coffee and atmosphere!! Owner is very down to earth and grinds with the rest of his employees. You won’t be disappointed!!
Great small breakfast spot. Awesome eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito, bloody Mary’s. So good that line outside started a half hour before they opened.
The food hit the spot and the people made it feel like home! Excited to have this new restaurant in the city. We will be back soon to try the rest of the menu. :)
As a Brewer’s Hill resident, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have such a cozy and delicious brunch spot so close to home. Having Orange & Blue attached is a huge bonus too!
Great atmosphere and great food. Nice option for those who love breakfast. It is a small place but not too cramped on the inside.
Busy little place with a tasty menu. We had exceptional customer service. Which is no surprise when the staff looks like they're enjoying themselves as well!
Not recommend for groups.
Definitely one of Milwaukee's hidden gems!!! A place with not only great food and a wide variety of beverages (for adults as well as children) Uncle Wolfies also has Top Flite customer service. If you're looking for a place to just get away and free your mind look no further than Uncle Wolfies with its beautiful surrounding scenery I guarantee you will love every bit of it!!!!!!
Great food, really fun staff! Had the BELTCH which was amazing. Great bloody as well.
Outstanding cuisine! Every employee makes you feel like a part of the family. I highly recommend to anyone visiting the Milwaukee area.
Highly recommend the Big McAllister with Egg and fries with fancy sauce. Also ordered the best Benedict and it was 💯. The owner here is also super nice and helpful. …
charming architecture and decor, everything on the menu sounded delicious, too bad there were only 4 of us, couldn't try everything, wish we could've! Mille Cheesesteak was fantastic. Had both virgin and non-virgin bloody mary's and both were great in the sack. Cappuccino game was en pointe. Owner Wolf was sexy too. would smash.
Great breakfast! Steak and eggs with crispy, fried, seasoned potatoes. Steak was done perfectly, nicely seasoned and very tender.
Cute, delicious, and friendly brunch spot! Great atmosphere, attentive staff. Food was spot on, and prompt! Can't ask for much more.
I haven't been here yet but the owner just suggested an awesome drink at the airport and paid for it without me knowing. I like to support cool people and I know MKE does too. Can't wait to stop in
My husband and I enjoyed a GREAT carry out breakfast this morning of thick French toast, side of crunchy bacon, and salmon Benedict with potatoes!! MUST go to place if you haven’t been!!!!!
Best brunch in town. Have been here a couple of times and never been disappointed. Other places might be great, but theirs is the best.
Interesting dishes with good flavors. Just about every dish had a good flavor to offer.
Ordered lunch for takeout today and it was AMAZING! Not only was the food delicious but the process was so easy and the staff was extremely friendly. Uncle Wolfie’s = automatic day maker :)
Steak salad and lots of interesting boozy drinks! Thanks for a splendid afternoon! I just wish the special included a cocktail and not just beer.
..For a Primarily breakfast place..decent selection of grub. And pretty good food.A little pricy..10 and up. Steak and eggs..18$..Pulled pork tostada..12$. You have to try it..yum
Really good food. Generous portions. Everything was very fresh! Definitely expect to come back!
This place is amazing! they honored the history with the way they restored the building and the food is spot on every time... Five Star Quality with five star service😁👌 …
Everything and more only thing negative is I can't wait for them to bring back the upside down pineapple French toast back!!!!!
Fantastic breakfast spot, loved that there wasn't a sign...you just have to follow your nose. It's quite busy on the weekends but we'll worth the wait
Amazing food! The cauliflower omelet was fantastic! Pretty busy on a sunday for brunch but worth the wait!
Great staff, nice location, great bites. Don't forget to try a vegan cookie!
This place is amazing! Great food, awesome service! By far the best breakfast/lunch spot in all of Milwaukee!
Best biscuits and gravy I ever had! Husband said it was one of the best breakfasts he has ever had. Worth the wait!!
Amazing food, staff, and ambiance.
Great sandwiches. Both the Beltch and caprese sandwiches were filling and delicious.
Amazing staff and food. Hits all the notes.
Had the loaded fries.... Absolutely wonderful!
Great breakfast. Biscuits were delicious. Coffee cup never reached empty. Worth the wait for a table.
Excellent breakfasts! All three of them... 😋 …
Excellent food and bloodies. Slightly awkward ambiance if you aren't a part of the "hipster" culture, but not in a way that detracts from the experience too much.
Above and beyond our expectations! Well worth the wait in line. Food was high quality and made to perfection. We will definitely come back!
Unique menu, quality ingredients, friendly staff
Absolutely loved my 1st adventure into the land of wool caps and flannel shirts, and I'm proud to say, in opinion, the Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern lived up to all the FB & IG hype.
Delicious. We sat at the bar and had frequent drink refills and our food came after a timely fashion despite how busy they were.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Food is very well prepared and tasty. Be wary of wait times on the weekend.
Food was excellent, but the wait was very, very long! Well over one hour.
Amazing food, great people, great atmosphere. Wait wasn't as long as expected. Drove from Pewaukee to eat here and will be back again!
Owner is great. Food is terrific. Expect to wait a bit for a table because the place is small. Well worth the wait.
Rather small place with a small menu. Food was good. Service was fair. Not something I would go back for unfortunately:( But, worth trying if your in the area.
Interesting yet great food, delicious Bloody's, and fantastic service. The waits might be long but overall it's worth it.
Great atmispherex wonderful staff and delicious food. Super fun place to grab coffee and a filling meal for a decent price.
My favorite brunch spot in Milwaukee. I've tried many things on the menu, never been disappointed.
"I'm glad this was the last place we ate at or we would've eaten here every day," my brother summed it up nicely. Awesome food
