Reviews of Tre Rivali
Came by this spot for a little date night with the wife since we weren't able to go to our usual Italian spot near by. Anyways, on entering the space I recall smelling a nice wood burn from the wood fired pizza oven which was pleasant. Started off with some really excellent cocktails and appetizers (lamb based sausage on some charred pita and a tasty beet dish). Honestly had we stopped at that point, it would have been a 5 star experience, however once the pasta and pizza came out we left feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied. Pasta was very small in portion, and never have I ever had a potato pizza. Both seemed to be over seasoned, which was odd considering the balance of the appetizers we had ahead of time.
Anyways, awesome cocktails, apps, and vibes. Bummer on the main courses.
'Til next time, cheers!
The only thing I can say is try it, you will like it as much or better than we did! There was a lady musician who was outstanding also 👏. With beautiful weather and Andrew as our service attendant, we enjoyed ourselves. The ambience was pleasant even with people walking by. I especially liked that the staff used the remaining water 💧 in the carafes to water the plants when customers departed. Look at the plants by the entrance.
It was a sunny Labor Day. We visited our Marquette freshman and took him to Tre Rivali for a brunch. Although the service was slow, the patio had a great ambience, food was well prepared and the cappuccino tastes better than I expected.
We wondered in here after a long day at the National Age Group Triathlon. The maitre d' made room for us and everyone was great. The food was fantastic. I had the Lamb Kafta which tasted similar to a dish I tried in Jordan in March. I also had the Crispy Potatoes.
Delicious breakfast on the patio. The juice options were very healthy and tasty. The potatoes were especially tasty.
The staff is very friendly. We sat in the bar area and our server Kristy was awesome. We had pizza, pasta, and swordfish all of which were very good. The desserts and the drinks were excellent as well. Very nice and clean restaurant. Love the high top tables in the bar area.
The service was impeccable across the board. Janet was helpful in guiding us through the food and beverage menus, offering suggestions and pairings along the way. Chef Alexa stopped at our table to check in and share stories of her favorite dishes. It was truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Milwaukee. You should definitely check it out! Plus, Wine is 1/2 off on Wednesday and the Lamb Kafka app, butternut squash soup, and olive oil cake are fantastic!
I had a reservation at the Journeyman Hotel and decided to eat at the restaurant rather than find somewhere else in the third ward. I'd checked the menu online the when making my reservation the day before, so I was surprised to find the menu I was given had different options listed. If you're going for a specific dish, it might be worth calling to confirm availability. The star of the night was the sticky toffee pudding for desert - a little Americanized (ice cream instead of custard) but it was very good.
The atmosphere is odd. The patio (sidewalk) was full and had a great ambiance (for sidewalk seating) but the indoor seating was empty when I arrived and there was only 1 table when I left. Breakfast the next morning was the same. There's no room service currently, so I expected a crowd but it was empty. I took a croissant back up to my room rather than eat in silence.
I was very impressed with Tre Rivali. They had amazing food and Chef Alexa was very accommodating to my gluten allergy. Janet our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were all taken care of. Chef Alexa made multiple appearances throughout the night to assure that we were all taken care of. The experience was great and I would go there again.
David at the bar was fantastic. He was fast, personable and did a great up sell. Would get the octopus and apple tart again. The other food was generally good but lack luster for the price.
Small plates, unique wood fired pizza, and good cocktails.
Great food and drinks. Brunch is good too
Server Gabby was very calm and professional for an early morning breakfast. Sometimes a super hyper server in the morning can be annoying…the food was great something simple as two eggs with chicken sausage and potatoes made my morning. I sat inside although outside was an option and all under $20. If you want a chill experience with a nice view this is a spot.
Great grab and go breakfast. The decor is simply gorgeous. The service was quick and courteous. I can't wait to come back when they're fully reopened.
We absolutely loved Tre Rivali. From the service, cocktails, salad, entrees, and desert, everything was beyond our expectations. We arrived early, since we found parking nearby, and were seated immediately. We can't say enough good things about our experience there. We even went to the rooftop bar after dinner and enjoyed a after dinner Bourbon.
Enjoyed this Third Ward restaurant located in the Journeyman hotel. I had the lamb pasta, Mediterranean pizza, salted carmel ice cream and a deep chocolate dessert drizzled with butter Brickle topping that was delicious. Don't judge me 😆. Our waiter was very professional and the atmosphere was quiet. Loved the tile design on the floor near the bar. For a sophisticated night out Tre Rivali is the place to dine.
This is a restaurant that serves Mediterranean food. It has a very good ambience, good service and good food. Here the paella doesn’t have meat... it seems to be just a rice bread ball. Big plate serves well two people. The chicken is very good.
Delicious food (kind of pricey) and excellent service - friendly staff. Wish the valet parking for the hotel was also usable for the restaurant.
Saturday brunch. Nice place, sat outside. Cool plates. We had the monkey bread, chicken and biscuits, mascarpone stuffed french toast, croissant sandwich and the 2 eggs plate with bacon. All were good. Too much biscuit and not enough chicken for the plate but sausage gravy was good and nice that it wasn't overloaded with salt. But not worth $18. Coffee is Italian roast so we skipped that, way too dark.
Journeyman Hotel has been one of my fav new spots in Milwaukee and we definitely need more of these chic places in town. I've been to the Outsider on the rooftop, however this was my first time trying out Tre Rivali - which is the restaurant on the ground level of the hotel. Its immediately to the left from the reception desk for the Hotel. At the first instance it looks like a café/coffee shop- a nice one, but definitely doesn’t give an Italian restaurant vibe.
We had to wait around 30 mins to get seated on a Friday night - but the good thing was their texting system, where we were notified that our table was ready. The service was fast and personable and the food would be a B based on the 2 items we ordered. The Ravioli was utterly delicious (A+) however the pizza left a LOT to be desired (D) There was hardly any taste to it. It felt like we were eating a naan bread with flavorless cheese on it.
Some Suggestions: Please offer some bread and olive oil to guests while they wait for their food.
Wait staff should offer and suggest something from the dessert menu. I feel it was a wasted opportunity for the restaurant to offer good service and ofcourse showcase more of the kitchen’s skills.
It was very nice all around but wasn’t “perfect”. Server was friendly but seemed disinterested.
Food was very good.
Would I go back? Probably although since I’ve been there I’d look to try something new first.
One of my favorite spots in the Third Ward! Tre Rivali has truly phenomenal food, service and ambiance. Great for brunch on the weekends and anything in between. Outdoor seating available, when Mother Nature cooperates and plenty of indoor seating as well as a great bar area. I also recommend popping up to the rooftop bar in the same spot, truly beautiful views of the city and snazzy cocktails. Located in the Journeyman Hotel, give Tre Rivali a try, you won't go wrong.
Ate breakfast outside. Great seating options inside and out. Hopple Popple was delicious. Loved the pretzel pieces added to the dish!! The French Toast was also very tasty. Would definitely order those again.
We loved it. The Pulpo is a must try, but I wish you got just a little more. My partner got the mushroom pizza which was soooo good, I don’t even like mushrooms and I would order it again. I got the Caico e pepe, it was alright. It wasn’t very flavorful and wasn’t hot when I got it. Overall it was a really nice night
This is quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee. The grilled octopus is super tasty! I also really enjoy their salads. It’s a great date night spot!
Our dining experience last Friday was interesting... We arrived early for our reservation thinking we would grab a drink at the bar first. We were served by the rudest most lifeless bartender I’ve ever met (bald guy, 40s-ish) . He barely said a word to us, made the lousiest drinks and overall had a horrible attitude. How can you staff a bartender that acts like this? His attitude put a bad taste in our mouth from the start. Thankfully, we were lucky to be served by Caitlin when we finally sat for dinner. She was chatty, attentive and made our dining experience lovely. You should be lucky to have her and perhaps consider ditching your bartender! Food was excellent and we’ll be back, but plan to avoid that bartender with a 10ft pole if he’s still there.
My husband and I had the best dining experience at this lovely restaurant! The food was exquisite, the service was impeccable, (we had Des as our server and very knowledgeable of the menu & wine,) despite only 2 servers working, and the Manager John, (was impressive with his attire,) with his front of the house help, greeting and conversing with guests, something that you don't see often anymore. The SA Phu, was hustling like crazy and is a really pleasant man.
We've both been in the restaurant business, (servers, cooking, & bartending,) and we were truly BLOWN away with our whole experience!
We tried a lot of the small plates which were outstanding and to top it off, the Gelato of the day, (made in house,) was the most delicious cherry ice cream that we've ever had!
We highly recommend this wonderful place and we will definitely be back!!
Big fans, Kelly & Shelly Modad
Fantastic lunch menu. Not huge options but everything we tried was delicious! Will definitely stop back.
Great atmosphere and good food. Wonderful brunch... limited choices.
The food is okay, it's not terrible but it's bland. The service is wonderful though.
Spectacular dining experience....from ambiance, to staff, wine selection, recommendations and outstanding food/taste/menu! Can't wait for next visit! Thank you
Great Caesar salad and pizzas!
Very kind and helpful staff. Very delicious food. Beautiful atmosphere. You wont regret. I tried swordfish. It was great.
Went here for an impromptu brunch after staying at the Journeyman Hotel. The food was overpriced and not great. The ham and cheese quiche was very good, but everything else was sort of bland, and the service was slow considering the place was half empty. On the plus side, we were seated right away without a reservation on a Sunday afternoon. To sum up our experience, Tre Rivali was “not bad.” I would give it another shot for dinner, but I cannot strongly recommend the brunch.
Decor and service good.
Food-Ok
Water had fish like smell
Nuts in soup with rancid smell
Loved this! Local Cheese plater is amazing one of the best. Grilled octopus and pizza were delicious too. Will be back
Coffee is delicious 😋
Food is very very good ,but small portions! …
What a wonderful evening my wife and I had with them. We definitely liked the accompanying and truly personal service from both the waitress and the manager, and the food options that allowed us to build our own, shared and excellent four course menu (I note this worked with the seafood as 3rd course, steak would have been too rich).
The feedback I gave was on the espresso: it displayed wonderful beans, but came with little crema (is machine ok?). The other drink / wine options that were recommended were up to par with excellent restaurants we had visited before.
At first sight we preferred the ambience outside, and it offered a good possibility to enjoy Milwaukee's 3rd ward. The option to move to the roof top terrace to finalize your evening is the icing on the top of the cake. It makes us consider staying at the hotel the next time.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Staff was kind and accomodating (help us with allergy issues). Definitely a spot to come back to. I'm glad we stopped in!
Great breakfast and coffee! Love coming here to work or catch up with friends. Beautiful space, nice staff and excellent food!
Such a great experience. I wish I would’ve gotten the baristas name, but a very sweet person who made an incredible chai latte. Even brought me chicken soup when when I was visibly upset over something. Lovely atmosphere right in the Third Ward with a great selection of drinks and food for a cafè. It’s experiences like this that bring customers back and make their day. Thank you <3
Janet and Elijah were great! Food was amazing.
*Imagine me screaming this* The food was amazing!! Ask for Ruby she's a real Gem.
Nice atmosphere, great location. Drinks and bartender were awesome!
The staff was friendly and professional. The food was incredible. It was definitely top quality service and preparation for the Milwaukee area. The decor was simple but that truly let the other highlights speak for themselves. I strongly recommend. Even things often butchered at restaurants like octopus were buttery and delicious - I will be back again and again.
We stopped for breakfast after checking our at noon. The staff was very friendly and sat my husband and I towards the back. It was quiet and relaxing. The restaurant filled up quickly after we were seated. Our beverages of Juiced and coffee are served quickly, coffee was refreshed. Our food choices of baked eggs, and goat cheese Omelet were served in a good amount of time. The food was well made and tasted delicious. We were very happy with our quick breakfast/ brunch and look forward for trying them for dinner in the future.
We had pretty much everything on the menu. Reasonably priced, excellent service, somewhat odd atmosphere. I felt like I was dining in a country general store? Make the place a little warmer and five stars should be easy!
The food was prepared and presented perfectly. Not too complex, but enough to be unique for an otherwise random med menu.
The food was good but expensive. The restaurant was nice inside and the service was good. Not sure the value is there for the price of the entries. For example, the octopus appetizer was expensive and very a very small portion. Nothing like the picture they posted on line.
Went in for cup of coffee. Coffee was good, service was efficient, staff friendly, location excellent.
However, $7.00 + tip for two cups coffee seemed steep.
The pork belly pizza was incredible! I think it has ruined regular pizza for me, thanks a lot! We also had the mussels, which were very good as well. The combo was the perfect amount of food for two people. The service was great and in total it was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Milwaukee.
First time here & extremely pleased with the experience. Lovely & comfortable dining rooms, pleasant service & excellent food! We had the sea bass & Mediterranean half chicken. Both were delicately seasoned & generous portions for the price. Good wine list if a bit pricey. Will be back.
This place is elegant. A warming atmosphere perfect for any occassion. Amazing cousine unlike anywhere else.
Overall, I enjoyed our dinner here. The food was terrific and the cocktails were very good as well. There were a number of things on the menu that looked interesting, so if we were back in Milwaukee I would not mind coming back. The noise level was low, so it was very easy to carry on a conversation. We shared several small plates that were all delicious. I do wish that we were given clean plates and silverware after each of them. Our server was very friendly and helpful, though he did disappear for extended periods a few times. That seemed to be more a function of the number of tables he had than any reflection on his attentiveness.
I grew up working in a fresh, homemade cooking family restaurant specializing in breakfast. I rarely have a breakfast that is better than what I can cook at home. It is just nice to not have to cook sometimes. One of those rare occasions was today. I can say with confidence this was the best breakfast I’ve ever had. My wife had the eggs benedict. I had the tomato pesto quiche with a side pancake. It’s tough to pick my favorite since they all were amazing, but if I had choose, it would be the potatoes with the benedict!
To top it off, the prices were very reasonable.
The food was good. I'd recommend the Monkey Bread, a sinfully sweet treat of bread, cinnamon sugar, and butterscotch sauce--one is enough to share for two or three people. The Goat Cheese & Herb Omelet was very good, but if you're hungry, you might want to skip the modest-sized omelet.
Service was absolutely TOP NOTCH!!! Julie, the host (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name) and the kitchen staff were amazing to our wedding party. They were able to put an absolutely delicious pizza together in minutes and the bridal partying and myself are eternally grateful! Delicious!!!
Absolutely phenomenal dining experience! A perfect spot for a nice date night that won't break the bank. Mussels and Carbonara are sensational, and the service matched the quality of our food. New favorite spot in town for sure.
Went to this delightful place for brunch on Sunday. Got to sit outside and the servers were excellent about moving us inside when it started to downpour. Very cute and pleasant interior. The food was one of the best brunches I have had in a long time! The goat cheese and herb omelette was simple and SO delicious and the proscuitto eggs Benedict was fantastic as well. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting MKE!
Brunch at Tre Rivali was excellent! We made a reservation ahead of time but it wasn't too busy on the Sunday that we went. My boyfriend and I both had cappuccinos. He ordered the buttermilk pancakes with a sour cherry compote, fresh whipped cream, and maple syrup. I had the avocado toast, which was so filling and very delicious! Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, delectable food!
Fantastic food and lattes. Wonderful service. Perfect ambiance. Outdoor seating available.
Ive been wanting to go since they opened and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered the meatballs as a starter to share. They were melt in your mouth amazing with a rich sauce that made me want to eat them endlessly. Best espresso martini I've ever had too. The pasta carbonara was buttery and fresh and delicious. Make reservations as they have a wait if you dont.
Simply the best. I am impressed every time I eat at this restaurant. Highly quality culinary dishes prepared by skilled chefs. Attached to the beautiful Kimptom hotel. My only ding on this place was they weren't able to tell me where they sourced their meat from, although the chef did spend a substantial amount of time trying to figure it out. I only eat humanely raised meats. Wish they would put more of a focus on this for their future menus.
Enjoyed a modern Mediterranean Dinner that ranks with the best meals I've had anywhere. The grilled Octopus, Mussels and swordfish were all delicious. If you enjoy fine dining without the stuffiness sometime associated with fine dining- you'll love Tre Rivali. Sitting on sidewalk of Broadway in the third and all of its activity and richness is an added bonus!
Great breakfast outdoors. A real jem in the Third Ward. Great food and great service without the overwhelming crowds (and long waits) of other popular nearby places. A refreshing sophisticated retreat in a bustling corridor.
We dined here for both lunch and breakfast over a couple of days. The service was incredible! Our waitress noticed we were from out of town and gave us some recommendations for things to do whilst we were in Milwaukee, as well as giving us some samples of the beers they had on tap. All of the food we had was so delicious, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Definitely the best dining experience we had in Milwaukee!
The food and service was excellent. It was very enjoyable.
We were in town for Summerfest and decided on a whim to eat here to celebrate my sister's wedding anniversary. I can't say enough great things about our server, Tyler. He was so accommodating, friendly and made great recommendations for our dinner. He made the dinner feel like an actual celebration and we loved every minute of our experience. Thank you so much for a great evening!
We had high hopes for Tre Rivali, and they still managed to exceed all of our expectations. Highlights included the chicken liver mousse, the tomato tartlet and yes, the octopus. Even the cocktails were beautifully presented! Plus our server was charming, and she gave us great recommendations. Top notch all around. We'll be returning.
Went here for lunch mid-week. Food was very good. Nice presentation, quality ingredients, excellent taste, good portion size (didn't feel stuffed but wasn't hungry an hour later). Since it was lunch, it was fairly quiet so it was a nice place to be able to have a conversation. Service was adequate, decor was simple.
The restaurant is located inside the Journey man. The wine menu is very extensive, and the food was delightful. I recommend one of the homemade pasta dishes. I had the gnocchi, and it was outstanding. Would recommend to anyone for lunch or dinner. Will be returning soon.
Delicious brunch. Kiefer (server) was attentive and kept coffee full. Monkey bread was to die for and all the entrees delicious. Highly recommend croissant breakfast sandwich. Only negative was mimosas and Bloody Mary were a bit steep, but an excellent all around experience.
Tre Rivoli has been on my wife and I list for a while, and it lived up to the hype.
Food: My wife had the Carbonara, which the noodles were al dente, sauce was simple but delicus and worked great with the pork belly. I had the pork belly pizza, that even with its odd assortment of ingredients, knocked our socks off. We also had the beet salad and spicy broccolini, which were good, but not anything we would order again. We also had the banana cake dessert, which was good as well. When it comes down to it, everything was good, however the entrees definitely were the stand out of the night. Our drinks were also really good, with the breakout star of a Death's Door G&T that was one of the best G&T's I'd ever had. Different, but very refreshing.
Atmosphere: Have you ever watched the food channel, where it appears you are in a chef’s house as they cook for you. Yep, kind of like that. Very cute bar, and a home-like atmosphere does just that: make you feel like you are at a really nice home.
Service: Our waitress was very knowledgeable, and dishes came out staggered perfectly. Also, the bussers were prompt in clearing plates. We are pretty simple dinners, so this above and beyond waiting was much appreciated, and didn’t go unnoticed.
My score: 9/10. Food is very good, atmosphere was quiet and cozy, and staff was very kind. We will definitely be back, as the prices weren’t unreasonable and there is a lot more menu to explore!
The food was absolutely incredible and so delicious! The presentation was beautiful. The flavor combinations were innovative and spectacular! The atmosphere was wonderful and cozy and very chic. The service was wonderful.
Absolutely amazing food and service. I highly recommend the octopus small plate and the tomato tartlet pairs perfectly with it. The carrot gnocchi and mascarpone ravioli are phenomenal entrees too. If you're doing dessert, the sticky toffee pudding is out of this world.
I’ve eaten here many times and really enjoy their food. They have some unique pizzas that are always amazing. I’ve also had their grilled octopus along with a few pasta dishes - everything just delicious.
Brunch is okay. $15 for a waffle with a few berries on it is ridiculous and the Benedict had little to no hollandaise. Best to just wait a while for a table at Sweet Diner
Nice environment that bends both casual and semi- formal. Don't be afraid to try some of the more unusual dishes on the menu. They were lovely! Service was great. Cozy environment without feeling crowded.
A group of a dozen coworkers and myself visited Tre Rivali for drinks and appetizers on the rooftop, followed by dinner in their private dining room.
I was absent for the drinks and appetizers portion, however my coworkers said it was very nice and the meat and cheese board was impressive. I did venture to the rooftop when I arrived, and will definitely plan on visiting again to check it out, as the space looked awesome.
Our dinner was served family-style, and almost too much food was provided. We left satisfied with the atmosphere, service, and dinner. The room we were in was nice, however my only issue was the table was so long, and the seats were so large, that even though we only had about 12 people, you were unable to speak to people more than two seats away. The other end of the table might as well have been in another room.
Some highlights were the Polpette meatballs, sesame hummus, pastas (Marscarpone Cheese Ravioli was amazing, and the Pappardelle was good as well), Grilled Swordfish, and dessert. We tried the Chocolate Torte and the Warm Apple-Almond Crostata; the crostata was fantastic, with amazing ice cream and salted caramel sauce on top of the warm crostata. The Tomato Tartlet was definitely one of my favorites, with goat cheese custard and perfectly delicious green olives. The Escarole and Celery Salad was another hit; everyone loved the hint of lemon. The Grilled Florentine Steak was a standout, especially duck fat roasted potatoes that accompanied.
We had a wonderful and delicious experience. If you are looking to splurge on a meal (as Tre Rivali is definitely on the pricey side), I would recommend a visit. They took great care of our group, and I look forward to going back (especially to have the Tomato Tartlet again!)
Used the online reservation system and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our brunch was delicious, we ordered the crab cake benedict, the egg white frittata, and the apple cinnamon waffle. Our server, Meg K, was great! Thank you!
Nice place. Too many booths and not enough tables. Octopus A+; Meatballs A; Bagna Calda Shrimp B+, take the tails off; and, finally, Pizza C-, figure out how to make a better pizza; had a sausage pizza, think there were 10 little pieces of sausage. Do it right or don't do it at all. Service was a B+, Bar very slow. All to be expected in a new restaurant. Prices were reasonable. Will certainly be back for the Octopus.
We are one current and one former fine dining restaurant professionals. We dined on a Saturday nite and this was possibly one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Our server Mara(sp) was superb. The food? Outstanding. Fresh and elegantly prepared and presented. Craftmanship cuisine. Worth every penny and more. I would have my last meal here. It's that good. Whatever else you eat, have the toffee cake w vanilla bean ice cream. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's spot on from start to finish! Can't wait to come back when I'm in Milwaukee again!
Unexpectedly EXCELLENT! Nothing about this place is pretentious or stuffy. The food is beautiful, well balanced, and perfectly portioned. The drink menu accommodates all tastes and preferences. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
DELICIOUS garlic braised pork with broccoli side. Really excellent curbside experience - will be back, and hope they continue to offer curbside even as things "get back to normal" which I think won't be for some time yet - at least I know we are not in a hurry to get back into a traditional restaurant setting.
Really enjoyed Tre Rivali. Great service. Italians will find much more authentic food than the usual Italian-American fare. Grilled octopus was excellent. The pizzas were extremely tasty, and made with a great homemade dough. The homemade pasta was impressive, although the carbonara sauce itself was only ok. The desserts were also phenomenal, especially the butterscotch mousse and the banana cake. Highly recommend Tre Rivali to any who enjoy Italian food...which let's be real, should be absolutely everyone. Bravo!
Great cocktails and ambience. Nice outdoor roof deck with fire pits and blankets if needed to keep warm on chilly nights. Good selection of bourbon from which to choose and enjoy.
Wonderful experience, outstanding food, and the chef was lovely enough to bring us an incredible appetizer on the house!!
Have had two meals here now and I cannot wait to come back. The pork chop is great, bronzino is excellent. The push for sharing seems good but the quantity of food on these dishes really varies. I loved the arrancinni and had a great dessert!
The food was so good and our server was so friendly. The food came out so quick too! We'll definitely be back.
Great atmosphere, warm and welcoming staff. They get pretty busy so I would recommend a reservation. Seating is very comfortable. The wait staff is kind and efficient. Food, of course, is excellent and well worth the prices.
Let me first say, this restaurant rocks! The menu is a wonderful array of small and large plates with a lot of selections from the Vegetable/Meat/Fish categories. Secondly, the service was impeccable! I want to thank Anthony Trester, the manager, for helping making my birthday dinner very special!
We tried a majority of the menu lol and left stuffed in a good way :)! We had the Grilled Octopus, The Spanish Mackerel, Gulf Shrimp, Polpettes, Beet salad, Gazpacho, and Paquillo Peppers as our small plates. I found the true winners to be the Shrimp (The Heads were sublime!), the Mackeral, and the Octopus.
As our Large plates, yes we went a bit overboard lol, we had the Lamb Chops, the Whole Branzino, and the Carbonara pasta. All were fantastic! My favorite was the Branzino, it was flawless!
Dessert now, lol, was great. We had the Olive Oil Cake with Candied orange rinds, the Butterscotch Mouse, and the Peach Torte. The Olive-Oil Cake was INSANE! I could have kept eating it and the Butterscotch Mouse was nuts also.
During the meal, Anthony, the manager was stopping over occasionally to chat, and being a huge Whiskey fan, that I am, we had a bunch to talk about. He had a couple that weren't on the list yet and I ended up switching from the High West Yippey Kay Yay to the Elmer T. Lee after Anthony had showed me he had it. Also, my father-in-law is a huge Highland Park Scotch fan, but they didn't seem to have that line yet, so he was drinking the Balvenie 14yr, which is very nice. My wife and mother-in-law were enjoying some of their nice wines on the list.
The coup-de-gras for the evening was at the end, when Anthony had Joe the Bar Manager from The Outsider on the roof, come down and get my wife and I and get us a booth at the bar. What service from both sides of the property. Joe and Anthony helped make my Birthday dinner extra special and if Heather was around, I would have loved to give her a hug and tell her that she is doing an incredible job in the kitchen.
My wife and I will definitely return and I believe my in-laws already have 2 more reservations on the books there!
Please go and have a wonderful experience for yourselves, you will not regret it!
Bachelor Party brunch. Excellent view and location. We sat on tge sidewalk patio. I ordered tge Lamb Burger. It was very juicy and tender. The side salad was just lettuce and arugala in a bowl. No dressing, cheese, croutons, nothing. That was extremely dissapointing
Great service and OMG the food and drinks! The cauliflower au gratin is probably one of the best things you'll ever taste. Service was exceptional and the ambience is great for either an intimate dinner or drinks with friends.
Nice atmosphere; considered interior. Food is simple but intensely flavorful.
Food was incredible as were the drinks. The manager was super friendly and added to the experience. We went on a quiet Monday and there was good amount of people and a fun atmosphere. Food was on point.
The Third Ward is filled with new stores, restaurants and bars. I didn't recognize most of them, and sadly felt old and distant from Milwaukee. I was involved in the very genesis of the gentrification of the Third Ward, when there were just a couple of dining places and a few gay bars. It grew exponentially, but never expected these many changes. I guess I should have held on to my buildings.......
Tre Rivoli, in the newish Kimpton hotel, is representative of these changes in my favorite Milwaukee neighborhood. Hip, but without pretense, the room is airy and the expansive windows allow you to "catch" the scene on the sidewalk. Service was casual, but Midwest nice and friendly. We miss that warmth. The brunch menu had some great choices, and my fried chicken with gravy was scrumptious. I cleaned my plate. Monkey Bread, a Tre Rivoli favorite, was icky sweet, but delicious. I "knocked off" all of them. Prices were very reasonable for such a cool and tasty brunch. Tre Rivoli was great fun.
Unique pairings, excellent service, fresh ingredients...my husband and I had different brunch choices and each one was made to perfection.
Plus it's a great location for going to the theater at Skylight on Broadway.
Very nice, good food, but despite us being the only people there on a Saturday night, the service was incredibly slow.
Excellent, skillful dishes from start to finish - Escarole & Celery Salad, squash and apple soup, Mascarpone Cheese Ravioli, Margherita pizza. What a treat! Great server that we enjoyed spending time with.
Great service and very delicious food. I had the special Bees Knees cocktail where they are donating a buck to help save the bees. Also had the baked salmon special and the brocollini. Yum!!
Amazing food, attentive service with food runners, etc. Best bone-in pork chop in MKE, no joke. I want a heritage pig to raise and eat. Don't hate. Order the pork dish and you'll agree.
I LOVE this restaurant. The greek yogurt is so good that I swear I bring it up to someone once a week.
I cannot wait for it to be open again (currently closed due to pandemic). I will absolutely make more time for this place in the future.
Nice ambience, great menu.
Good location, pretty easy to find street parking during non peak hours. The charcuterie board is nice. No artificial flavors in their cocktails.
My pasta was delicious. The pizza was good too. The best G&T I have had in a long time!
Great food and service. Outdoor seating is fantastic. The beet salad is the best I’ve ever enjoyed!
Everything was fantastic. The escarole salad was perfect for a summer evening and the carbonara tasted like it came from Rome. But do not leave without the sticky pudding!
Great food- tasted delicious and unique. Terrible service. Long waits while the staff stands around and chit chats with each other.
Delicious meal. No one can mess up wine. The decor was beautiful. Service was fine. Bring a fat wallet though!!!
Love their brunch. Bloody Mary's are on point, and the monkey bread is to die for. Great, open atmosphere and friendly staff.
Wonderful weekend brunch menu. Great atmosphere. Loved their coffee and Belgian Waffles.
Great handmade pastas. A little on the pricey end but really great food and a cool atmosphere. Plus the rooftop bar afterwards is a fantastic view of the city
Evolving menu and a wide wine variety, can to wrong here !!! Can't go wrong here, love this spot. For the home grown and the out-of-towner!!
This place is great for both brunch and dinner. Highly recommend the mascarpone stuffed french toast at brunch. For dinner, I've enjoyed everything I've tried.
Food was awesome and service was great. Unique dishes and drinks, definitely will be coming back.
Tre Rivali has a yummy brunch on the weekend and was very accommodating for my Grandmother with mobilty issues. The brunch menu is a bit limited but delicious.
Their desserts are amazing. You can't go wrong with any of them. Definitely leave room or come here just for dessert. (Dinner is good too.)
Wonderful pizza. There is one made with pork belly, honeyed grapes and Brie cheese. No red sauce. Wonderful.
Fun place to get drinks on the patio. Lots of great people watching.
The food was a wonderful experience. Portions are not large, but the flavor is!
I didn’t know that Heather Terhune from top chef is the executive chef but now that I know, it makes sense. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. Some not as flavorful as I thought from reading the menu, some were overly salty. I guess if you happen to be in the area it’s okay but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this.
Yes!!! Will be back again. They accidentally gave our order away to the wrong customer but they offered us a drink to make up for it. Food was delicious
Excellent dishes- it was impossible to pick just one favorite! Even the COVID-19 shortened wine list was impeccable!
Indoor and outdoor seating with an excellent atmosphere and staff.
A mixture of Italian and Mediterranean options are available here, Tre Rivali gives an interesting twist to a number of great dishes that include octopus, sword fish, kale, lamb and traditional pasta dishes.
One of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee. It’s elegant and classy with delicious food. However, I love their starters more.
Good food and pretty good beer selection. Tap beer was a bit limited to hoppy brews. Really enjoyed the mussels and clams.
Excellent food. Menu is small but the quality is excellent. Walking distance to festivals.
One of the most delightful bar experiences I’ve had in a long time. Food was amazing too. Highly recommend it.
Amazing taste sensation. Friendly and courteous staff. You have to try the dessert. Many gluten free options.
Food & service were very good. Ambiance is warm & urbane.Really cool location in Third Ward. Nice street views and seasonal outdoor seating.
Excellently prepared food! Love the butterscotch pudding! This alone could make them millions! Staff was attentive and professional.
Great menu concept and great execution. One of the best meals I've had in a while. Can't wait to go back.
The staff was super friendly, and the food was really good! It's a little downtown "uppity" for my style, but I had a great experience!
Meh. Expected more for such a wonderful hotel.
Al fresco dining, good food. There are some interesting items on the menu for those with sophisticated tastes. Check it out if you're in the 3rd ward.
This place is good, not great. Prices are high for portions, but overall tasty... You will probably leave hungry.
Great food, service and vibe.
Things have gone down hill since I ate here last. Service was very slow. My steak tasted of fish.
Great dinner, The octopus is a must try dish. It is melt-in- your-mouth delicious.
Went for brunch. Good food, large portions, good service. Will be back!
The service was excellent but the food was mediocre. I was particularly disappointed with the hummus appetizer due to the undercook chickpeas placed on top.
Very good dining experience. Waitress was very attentive to dietary requests. Parking is horrendous though.
The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. The rooftop is really nice too.
Great restaurant, amazing pasta, really enjoyed the vibe and food. Would not recommend the carbonara out of all the pasta options though
An amazing experience, start to finish. Great food, fantastic service, and drinks that tasted like juice. Perfection 👍 …
Great for Saturday brunch
We celebrated my birthday here and we had spectacular service thanks to Mara! Yes, ask for Mara if you have a chance:)
The lead bartenders here are masters of their craft, and employees at every level demonstrate excellence in customer care.
Food and ambiance was perfect for our group of 10nto celebrate my mother in laws birthday. We will be back.
Great menu options. A little pricey for the portions, but a good tasting meal.
Excellent location in Milwaukee' 3rd Ward district. Super friendly staff and great beer selection.
An incredible and memorable experience from start to finish. The service is exceptional. Highly attentive, friendly, and informative
Delicious! Great decor, food and coffee. And very pleasant service.
This is my go-to place for family gatherings or a night out in the city. Everything I've had there is amazing and the drinks are on point!
Love everything about this restaurant, food atmosphere, staff. Have been thete for brunch, lunch snd dinner.
Had the muscles and they were fantastic. Friendly staff and the drinks were equally good.
Nice place, decent food but my bloody was too salty to drink and waitress was pretty cold despite the place being some what slow
Go for the appetizers, stay for the great service and amazing entrees.
I definitely recommend!
A beautiful place for a nice meal in the Third Ward. The steak and wine we're fantastic.

Great food and atmosphere for a reasonable price. Staff very friendly.
Fantastic amazing excellent service food ambient presentation absolutely everything is perfect.
The foods employs a holistic tasting palette that titilates your senses throughout your experience there.
Dirty table, mediocre service, long waited food, humus broken thru soft pita, spread underneath of it around the plate...
Food is great! Service is amazing!! Love Kimpton and Tre Rivali!

Good place and nice location. Service is good. Food is good but not extraordinary.
The pork chop was done perfectly, as was the sticky toffee pudding cake
Get dessert! Each of the four at our table were delicious!
Delicious menu, spot on service, comfortable atmosphere.
Surprisingly good food but it’s way too expensive for anyone but yuppies that don’t know how to save their money.
Good service and a pretty good brunch menu.
Great food and service. One more go to place in Milwaukee!
