Reviews of Three Brothers

Great family restaurant. We had never tried Serbian food before. Highly recommend. I had meat burek and my wife had goulash. Delicious. Cash only but don’t you dare let that deter you.
Mia Sienko
Note that this place is cash only!! Besides that minor inconvenience, this place is 100% worth it. The food is amazing and freshly prepared and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. I’d definitely recommend the burek and the roasted duck! The service is also great with friendly, attentive service staff. We will definitely be coming back!
Nicole
What a lovely gem! The restaurant is tucked away in Bayview on a quiet street. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you’re very well cared for and are enjoying your experience. Our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. The chef/owner came to our table at least twice to make sure we were enjoying our meal which was a very nice touch and greatly appreciated. We started with the grape leaves, the best I’ve ever eaten before. Then we shared two entrées, the beef burek and the roasted goose. Both were very delicious. We finished with a cherry strudel that was a nice ending to a wonderful meal. Highly recommend! I will be going back to enjoy their delicious food.

Truly a Milwaukee gem! Had the beef Börek for the main dish and for dessert the Palacinka and Baklava - all of which were absolutely delicious! Our server Oguis and one of the owners Branco were extremely hospitable. Couldn’t have asked for a better time.
B Mikel
Absolutely fantastic! My wife and I shared the grape leaves, spinach and cheese burek, and stuffed peppers. Everything was SO fresh and delicious! We finished with baklava, which was served warm, and was outstanding!
Although certain dishes take a while to prepare, we felt it was well worth the wait. The restaurant has a great ambiance - full of life and chatter. We will surely be back!!
Brandy and friends like to Game!
The restaurant was very loud, service was good. The Beef Burek was cooked perfectly, but I would personally like a sauce or cheese with it. My friend got the pork goulash, she said it was a bit salty, but good.
David Nestingen
This restaurant continues its exceptional run, generation after generation.
My wife and I left tonight extremely well satisfied.
On a very cold night it was a pleasure to walk into the warm and charming glow of this old world restaurant.
We were greeted and taken care of by an energetic, kind and fun crew that attended to our every need in an unrushed fashion.
And the food was so outstanding that I remarked to my wife I couldn’t remember the last time I had such a good meal.
“Ethnic” cuisine may not be the fashion in many circles these days, but if you don’t have this restaurant on your rota you are missing out - big time.

This place was absolutely AMAZING! The service was great from the start, our server Emily was super friendly and gave us an overview of the history of the restaurant and building. We were able to call ahead to put our name in for a table which was nice as we went on a Friday night. My husband got the beef burak which he LOVED, even the leftovers reheated, and I got the Goulash (GF version). They have many other dishes you can order gluten free which is so great. The grape leaves appetizer was amazing as well. Definitely the best I've ever had! The atmosphere is also great. It is a small restaurant, and has a lot of happy, fun energy. There are plants everywhere too! For a drink I ordered the Serbian pear brandy with honey, and Emily offered to have it made as an old fashioned since I didn't want it as a shot. It was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be going back!

WOW! - Awesome food, great service, cozy atmosphere. Our server was so much fun- she was knowledgeable, friendly, and made some awesome recommendations. 10 out of 10 all around!

Come and enjoy a relaxing evening of authentic Serbian cuisine. All food is made in house and delicious. FYI some dishes take 45 minutes to a hour ,but worth it the wait. It's not very big so we came early 4:30 and left at 6 it was packed. Baklava was amazing best I ever had. Service was top notch and very attentive. No credit cards accepted bring plenty of cash.
Kevin Moore
Excellent. Very cool local place. Went on a Sunday night and they were busy but not jammed.
Great, friendly service. We split a Serbian salad and had the stuffed zucchini and the lamb for our mains. All delicious.
Also had an interesting, and reasonably priced bottle of red from Montenegro.
Desserts (walnut torte and cherry strudel) sounded great but were disappointing and kind of expensive.
Total w/ a couple of drinks and a coffee $100 + tip.
We'd definitely go back but will skip dessert.
Also, they have several entrees (burek, duck, goose, etc) that take 45 min to an hour to cook so allow extra time if you want those.

We celebrated my dads B day and had great service, delicious food and had a memorable evening. I would encourage everyone to eat at 3 Brothers.

Been coming here since 1973. It was way funkier atmosphere then, paint jumping off the building, dead plants in flower pots on the window sills, could not see the bar let alone use it as bar because of stacked paper, juke box by the front door playing dirgeful music and the food was magnificent! And it still is! Many, many terrific memories of fabulous dinners with close friends in those days and have enjoyed introducing new friends over decades. Though I moved away just a year short of 40 years now I make it a point to visit whenever I get within a hundred miles radius. Enjoyed seeing the transition, now look at the place, on the National Register of Historic Places. The flavor coming out of the kitchen to your table today is also historic. I was delighted to introduce old friends of mine to Three Brothers this past June. Over decades, not exaggerating, I have referenced Three Brothers dining with them in other cities. Now they clearly understand.

Recently visited Three Brothers, ordered the stuffed zucchini, and I was not disappointed. Very delicious and flavorful. My husband ordered a chicken dish and he said it reminded him of how good his grandma cooked. The historic charm of the building is what drew us to this restaurant, but we will definitely return for the food. Staff was accommodating especially since we didn't have a reservation they let us sit at the bar. I would recommend making a reservation if you can; it is a tiny space. A space filled with historic memorabilia and wonderful smells and tastes. Cannot wait to visit again.

Very enjoyable meal! The Goulash is superb: moist, tender with a fantastic paprika-laden gravy and fluffy potato dumplings. Others in the group had the lamb (yummy), the paprikash chicken (flavorful but a little dry/overcooked) and roast pork (also on the dry side). After seeing several of the house specials delivered to tables around us, the consensus was we must try it on a future trip. For dessert, the baklava is a MUST. Simply the best I've ever, ever had! We WILL be back!
Richard Blankman
Wow what a treat ,to start the waitress was so helpful and pleasant .we had the salad for 4 something I've never had before. Loved the stuffed peppers and the lamb was also right up there..Owner stopped to see if we were happy, great desserts. Small wait for meals, I'm a big fan
Jens-Peter Mollenhauer
Very nice venue, friendly people, soul food which could be even more authentic Serbian (sorry went to Serbia several times)
William Johnson
Three Brothers never fails to amaze me, not with flashy, overworked dishes, but with simple, well made traditional food that harkens to simpler times. Welcoming, cozy and fulfilling, Three Brothers is one of only three dining places I pine for when I'm away from home.
Isac Lehrer
We had a great evening with family and enjoyed the wonderful food this restaurant brings to our table.
Highly recommend!
deb calvey
first time i’ve been here and the entire experience was wonderful. ordered the burek ahead of time due to the cooking length; superb! can’t wait to go back.
Igor
What a fantastic restaurant! The food is spectacular. We had the burek and grape leaves as well as a few of the chicken dishes and they were all spectacular. The venue has a very family feeling to it.
The service is spectacular. Very fast and attentive. Even though the dishes take a long time to prepare it feels like time flies when you are there. Couldn’t recommend highly enough and will definitely be coming back!
Neda Stevic
This is the most romantic, charming restaurant in Milwaukee! I loved the authentic Serbian food and amazing family ambiance. They are also recipients of the James Beard Award! Highly recommend treating yourself to this exquisite dining experience!
Robert Hanson
We have been going to Three Brothers since about 1970. The food never disappoints! Unfortunately we no longer live in the Milwaukee area but whenever we go past Milwaukee we make it a stopping night to eat at the Three Brothers. My youngest son who is a pilot was in Milwaukee the other day and walked from the airport to the restaurant just to have the Beef Burek! Great place.
Stewart Milaeger
It was really nice! It's fun to try to learn what some of the Serbian words on the menu mean.
Michael Dethloff
Beef Burek was amazing! Our waitress was very friendly and did a great job!
Beth Chan
The bureks are awesome! So are the other entrees, the butter mix that comes with the bread is delicious, haven't found anything here I haven't enjoyed over the years! Plus awesome people who run the place and work here, always friendly and helpful and working hard to take care of everyone and make sure everyone is happy.
Bill P
Don't be discouraged by how difficult it is to get to Three Brothers. From the moment you walk through the door you feel as though you are transported to a different time. This family owned restaurant serves authentic Serbian eats. The most daunting of which is called the "burek." It is definitely worth the hour wait for this ethnic delight.
amemoore
Oh man... the people here are amazing and as wonderful as the food.
Call ahead!

Always looking for new places and adventures. I wanted to try something new and unique. I got what I wanted. Located in a old bar made in 1897 In Bay View. It has a simple charm about it. It's not very big. And the amenities are simple. It's like being at my Grandmother's kitchen table. Only with a big bar next to it. The food is old world European style. Things that most American restaurants don't have. After all it's Serbian!! They have a large very attentive staff. The menu is large and you will find something to you taste. Don't be afraid to try and experience new things and tastes. Your taste buds will be the happier for it. I had the Pork loin with a mustard sauce. Not normally a mustard fan. I found it complemented the pork. It wasn't overpowering. And the seasoning was perfect. My friend had the stuffed peppers. He loved them. While my other friend had the Shishkabob. Which he loved. Most dishes are between 14 and 20 dollars. We spent about 50 dollars per person with drinks. Not into meat? This place has you covered. I recommend you make reservations as it is a small place.

We returned to Three Brothers for another fantastic meal. This is not bean sprout cooking, and now that I live on the west coast, the delicacies emerging from the Three Brothers kitchen would be considered politically incorrect and a faux pas. This health food contingent would be missing out on some amazing comfort foods, but comfort and warmth are not integral to the west coast, and I was happy to devour every morsel.
The Stuffed Grape Leaves, the Chicken Pilav, and the Wiener Schnitzel were our favorites, but everything was wonderful. Portions are huge, and I mean big. Pricing is very reasonable for such delicious and bountiful food. Service was like the food, comforting and welcoming. Three Brothers may be my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee.
Nostalgia reigns on this return to The Three Brothers. The last time I dined here was in the 1970s, and I was too young, and pretentiously hip to enjoy the authenticity of this iconically, great restaurant. If you are in Milwaukee, a visit the The Three Brothers is a must! This restaurant is quintessentially Milwaukee.
Ostensibly a gourmet Serbian restaurant, the Three Brothers represents an era, a bygone era, when immigrants from Eastern Europe escaped to the welcoming arms of our country, looking for freedom and a better life.
The South Side of Milwaukee offered factory work at Allen Bradley, Bucyrus Erie, etc., supported by unions and a fair wage. Poles, Serbs, Croatians, came to live and work on the streets surrounding the Three Brothers. Milwaukee's Bayview neighborhood was a bastion of family, Catholic mass, beer and hard work; The Three Brothers was their evening refuge.
The restaurant hasn't changed. It serves up those delicious Bureks with smiles and good cheer. The menu offers more than just Burek, and I will be back to try other items on the menu. However, this night was for nostalgia, so I dove into my Burek with relish, served by the very attractive, helpful staff, willing to answer all my questions, patient with my inquisitive nature. It was a wonderful evening, and I left with a bit of a tear in my eye, knowing you can't get it back.
Annette Wolfe
Amazing food. You have to get the grape leaves. Everything was good.
Steven Uhrich
Fantastic place. Our server Sam was very kind and attentive, and accommodated us with a table even without a reservation. The food was incredible.
Thomas Moore
A true culinary gem of Milwaukee. Have been here several times and figured I should finally leave a review. Food, drinks, atmosphere and staff are all excellent. Enjoyed a great meal, were very well taken care of and it was a nice paced time. They are taking protocols for the virus very seriously and it is appreciated; felt very safe while we dined in. It's a small place so if you are considering eating here then give them a call to make a reservation; it is well worth your time. Thank you Three Brothers for another wonderful meal and hope to be back soon!
David Carlson
Our third time here, and we love it more each time! The four of us had bureks, goose and schnitzel, and each was perfectly prepared. Our server Jocelia was attentive and delightful, and paced our meal beautifully. It's kind of a long drive for us, but we'll certainly be back again!
Lissa
When I was first here, 6 years ago, it was charming, the food was wonderful and the decor was the type that new restaurants pay consultants thousands to recreate (badly), but has just organically, over long years, developed here.
It is still all of those things. The food is still excellent, the prices reasonable, the service good. They are handling COVID well, reducing capacity and requiring reservations.
They did get us in the same evening we showed up, since we were from out of town and I didn't check the website before heading over (totally my fault). They were very gracious about it.
Britt Saunders
One of Milwaukee's best restaurants. Always great food and service here.

First time I've ever been to three brothers.
It was absolutely fantastic!
The menu is large.
We went as a 4 top and we each shared or dishes with each other. Nothing was disappointing.
Very quant small restaurant.

What a special gem to find. I was visiting Milwaukee with some friends who had never eaten Serbian food, this was a great place for them to experience it for the first time.
Donald Thomas
Everything was exceptional! Food, service and drinks. Menu was very intriguing. I don't think you could go wrong with any choice and definitely plan to frequent the restaurant to get a better sample of their menu.
Therese Brannon
Always fantastic. We have been coming here for decades. When in Milwaukee it's a must visit. Classic old world serbian. Spinach Burek and beef burek a delight. We always get an extra for the next day. Lively crowd. Fantastic service. Love this place. You don't find places like this just anywhere.
don griffith
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in this quaint neighborhood location. The food was extremely good and the service was good as well. Be aware that some items take 45 minutes or so to prepare. But it is well worth the wait for a home style, made to order meal.
Josie Hall
Phenomenal atmosphere, service, and food. We stumbled across this gem years ago, and have not stopped coming back. Feels like you are family when you eat here, everything is cooked to order, so comes out perfectly every time. Family style is the way to go, so you can try out a few different dishes. Plan on hanging out for a while, and make reservations if you can. Love all the staff, thank you for all you do.
Anjin Rider
I'd give this amazing restaurant six stars but do not have that option.
It's an experience like walking into a time capsule, the food is home-cooked and excellent, the decor is purposefully unchanged since the 50's but not in a cliche diner kinda way, it just feels like 'home'.
I had the roast lamb, with a czech beer and hors d'oeurvres.
The meal takes a while to get to you, by design,so that you have time to enjoy the company around you and take in the atmosphere, also because excellent home-cooked meals take time to prepare.
I cannot overstate that this is an amazing restaurant.
Meryl Fitzpatrick
What a quaint and intimate dining experience. Dim warm lights, tables and chairs you might see at your grandma's are things you can expect when you walk in. Staff was very friendly! The food was delicious! This was my first time eating Serbian cuisine and I was a little mad at myself for not having tried it sooner. Expect hardy dishes that will leave you bursting at the seams. Would highly recommend!
Slaven Stojakovic
Best burek I had in awhile besides my mom's. Sarma very delicious, flavorful, salad was very good, felt very comfortable, everything from the kitchen smelled nice. Old fashion and classic with very nice atmosphere, music was good, staff was very attentive, even dough I couldn't see their faces they seemed nice friendly and lay back, enjoyed my time here.
Philip Schmidt
Amazing staff, incredible food, top notch experience!
Upon arriving I was immediately reminded of Louis' restaurant in The Godfather, but after being seated felt releived that the crook in my chair helped me check my 6 o'clock position. Anticipation of the perfect meal had left me feeling apprehensive. These rumors certainly must be exhaggerated. The server arrived and in traditionally insipred garb proceeded to butter our appetites.
The spread of Serbian Specialties, and Dolmates were a tasty and freshly prepared hors devours. I reclined after nabbing a selection of these appetizers. Nothing could have prepared us for the feast to come.
Our party of four was served with expert timing. A shared Spinach Burak was underwhelming but the other dishes ... A Gulash was served that was perfectly seasoned and reminded me of a dish only found in Innsbruck Austria. My years long search was finally concluded. A Wiener Schnitzel, traditionally served, was tender and simply intoxicating. The roast duck was simply the best I had ever tasted, but the goose...oh, the goose. The Goose elevated the meal. Tender and succulent I controlled my ravenous intrigue.
This meal is evidence that there are things unexpected; traditional delights and homemade perfection which we cannot anticipate but must savor when tasted.
Melanie Lemley
Oh, my! If I could give it ten stars, I would! The burek, both spinach and beef, were amazing! We had the sarma and it was flavorful and yummy. Lovely, quaint atmosphere. Friendly servers. I'll definitely be back!
Kay Hogan
There were 3 of us one was not a fan of the Idk if it was a some sort of polish mixed with beef, pork and lamp. He said it was only beef. Idk he is from the country. Me and the other guest give it a 4.
Jerry Bartos
We picked up dinner for 4 of us this last Saturday. They do an outstanding job of packaging each of the meals, salads and desserts. We had a cheese Burek for an appetizer. They par bake it and you finish it at home. Many layers of Philo dough with cheese. It is outstanding. Two of us had the Serbian salad and said they would go there for that alone. I had the Sarma-large cabage rolls stuffed with ground beef and rice. We are talking about amazing ethnic food. One of my guests had the Chevapchichi-delicious meat rolls served on a bed of onions. We had two bottles of the house Dalmation wine-a red wine served chilled. Bring a cooler to keep the food warm to take home and one to keep the wine cold! The owners and staff are so nice. We have been going there for years. The only bad thing is having to choose only one thing for dinner. There are so many delicious dishes.
J.r. Robinson
Delicious meals. I usually order something traditional but went with the Weiner schnitzel this time. My buddy had the stuffed Peppers. Both were great. The Serbian salad was excellent. Cozy, homey atmosphere was comfortable. The waiter was engaging and she knew her stuff. I love this place...
Adam Henke
Absolutely fabulous. Call ahead and make sure you have a couple hours
Maureen Brock
Wow. The food and service were amazing. Actually it was the best service my husband and I have ever had. And the food is outstanding. Be prepared for a true dining experience. I had the spinach and cheese burek (and took 3/4 home it was so rich and fabulous but huge) and my husband had the pork loin. Our server was phenomenal, we never had to look around or ask for anything, she was always there subtly waiting with what we needed. There were two only two tables open for reservation when I called Saturday morning so we took the 8pm and had a leisurely wonderful dinner. Seriously one of the best date nights we've ever had, if not the best.
Carlo DeSando III
Food was delicious. We were smart enough to order several dishes head of time because they take so long to make. But it's hard to give 5 stars to a restaurant that doesn't take credit cards. Service was very good and attentive. Food came out piping hot. But they only take cash or checks. Glad I went, but not sure I would go back.
Todd Borchert
The servers are excellent they do their jobs vert well. The food is top notch. I've never had anything that wasn't done to perfection. The recipes are from the family that owns it and have not changed since ice been going there. The house red wine is my favorite wine and can only be had there. The Serbian salad has a cheese on it I've also only had there. My family loves the place our destination for all special events and gatherings. One of the best restaurants in Milwaukee in my opinion.
Zak Keil
A hidden gem in Milwaukee/Bayview. Those who know, know and those who don't quickly learn that there is a reason that this restaurant has received national attention for it's Serbian cuisine. I have been coming here for years and the quality and service is as high as ever. I would recommend the burek and sarma for first timers; mousaka and grape leaves if you're feeling adventurous. (It's all delicious)
K CHRISTIANSON
We love Three Brothers and have eaten there many times for over a decade when we could afford to eat out. We don't to waste our money on fast food or all-you-can-eat joints but pick the best home-style non-Hispanic ethnic restaurants we can afford. Plus we like East European food.
We can't wait for Three Brothers to reopen the dining room. We enjoyed sipping some Serb table red wine with the appetizer salad and listening to Serb music like in the old days. We remember too how back in the 70s / 80s the elderly owner (I think that's who it was) sat at table near the bar meticulously typing something on an old manual typewriter and when we went to use the bathroom and glanced in through the door to the kitchen we saw one or two middle-aged women with their black and gray hair piled up on their heads bearing big well-worn metal trays of mousaka to and from the oven. We loved it how if we spent a lot of money or had a birthday in our group the owner would sometimes come out with little glasses and a bottle of slivowitz (plum brandy) as a free treat for the group.
Our favorite dishes are burek, musaka, roast piglet, chicken paprikasz along with the more expensive lamb, duck, and goose. We find the Serbian appetizer salad to be a little skimpy than expected and wanted a bit more goatiness to the Serb butter and a bit more garlic and seasoning in the sliced sausage.
We like the Serb table wine but were surprised that the bread is not that crusty east European style but soft German rye. The current owner / manager informed us that this choice of bread is a tradition because when the grandfather started the place his customers were German and helped him get his start. They preferred rye bread so he began serving it. We wish the Serb butter had more of a feta taste.
The last time we ordered curbside I had the roast loin. I always enjoy Three Brothers home-made red cabbage, but the pork loin was quite salty. My wife agreed. I thought about calling to let them know about the saltiness (if two different people find a dish salty then it's not just a matter of one person's tastebuds!) but I knew they were busy and the phone was probably ringing off the hook.
I'm a fan of čevapcici -- Serb sausages made of ground beef and/or pork and/or veal (maybe lamb too?) -- which I myself make at home. 3 Brother's version doesn't excite me too much -- the meat is a bit grisly and bland for my taste. Maybe that's the way Serbs make them -- and maybe I go overboard with more expensive higher quality ground beef and pork and/or veal and/or lamb. And I probably use a lot more seasoning than the traditional recipe calls for. So I can't complain too much.
Last, I hope the management can find some young Serbs to wait on tables. We like to feel that we're in Serbia for a couple of hours. And having lived and worked in Poland and travelled around East Europe I like to hear English with a Slavic accent. Much prettier than English with French or Spanish or Italian accent! And so too are Serb women!
Despite my criticism we are still very very loyal customers and will encourage others to visit Three Brothers. Like I said, we can't wait for the dining room to reopen so that we and our friends and family can hang out for 2 or more hours laughing and talking, sipping red wine, eating, etc while Serbian music plays in the background.

This was the first time here today. Went looking for a vegetarian dish and goulash. Eggplant mousaka was lovely with cheese and eggplant layers presented artfully. The goulash was a large portion of meat and rich flavorful gravy. The salad and the fresh bread offered were good too. They accept check and cash only. The owners daughter and the waiting staff were extremely pleasant and nice. Overall- a good place to dine in.
Cliff Baker
The Serbian salad is wonderful and we love the beef burek and spinach/cheese burek. Never disappointed. Bronco and Mike are always so hospitable. We always try and support local and hope we will be able to dine inside again when the pandemic is under control.
Thomas Schroeder
Wow what a great place 25 mile drive but oh so worth it. Great cocktails and appetizers and the main dishes will make this a destination for you
Arrcee X
Always had wonderful food here but last evening was a mixed bag. Good house wines, small portion of butter with dry rye bread. My schnitzel was dry and over cooked and some parts were tough. The chicken paprikash did not taste of paprika. The lamb was very tasty, and the goulash was excellent. Too full for dessert. Must have been an off night. Next time l will get the burek.
ZVONIMIR SUPAN
The best burek I've had in America.
Excellent palačinke, tastes almost as good as my Mother's....closest duplication in taste.
Keep up the great job!!!
My parents and I will definitely be returning for the greatest taste of European's food in Milwaukee area at a reasonable prices.
Thank you,Thank you, Thank you very much!
Hvala Vam puno na odličnom gostoprimstvu i odličnom teku Evropske hrane !!!

We love the authentic, ethnic food! We have been happily going to Three Brothers for years to celebrate special occasions. Every dish we have tried is delicious. On our most recent visit for our 35th anniversary we enjoyed the Serbian salad, chicken soup with wheat dumpling, chicken livers with onions and roasted goose. Every bite was well prepared and scrumptious! The Serbian house red blend wine is delightful and pairs well with any dish; it is a steal at $21 for a full carafe. The server was friendly, attentive and informative and the restaurant was warm and cozy on a cold December night...
Joel Estrada
The place is very interesting, it is as if time had stopped years ago. The food is very good, just made and very different from what we are used to. The service of the employees is careful, very good. Quite an experience.
Bad Betsy
I only spent so much because I wanted to try so many different things. I did bring a lot of food home as well. The the food is great the drinks are great the servers are amazing. I love this place
Betsy G.
This is a tiny place with so much personality and history. The food was so good and the drinks were AWESOME!!! The place is small and was
busy but our group of 15 people never felt rushed! And one of the few places I know of that has Serbian food. SO GOOD!!!
Rachel Stenman
Amazing food! I had the stuffed cabbage and goose with my boyfriend. WE LOVED IT! The space can get tight and service can be....casua, BUT it's because these guys pack it in on a regular basis. In other words, well worth the wait. Very friendly staff. The space itself is charming too, it reflects an old world ambiance. It's one of Milwaukee's hidden gems!
John Shaw
Great little place, reasonably priced, and outstanding food. I had roast goose for the first time there, and it was delicious. My wife loved her dish as well. My neighbor is VERY Serbian, and it's where he and his wife go to get his fix of the food he grew up on.
Jearr Vittle mouth
Consistently well-prepared delicious dishes in a cozy historic atmosphere. Cash only! They prefer customers to make reservations. Small number of tables, so show up early. Beef burek, serbian salad, goulash, excellent.
Jesse Schmidt
Good authentic food, great service and older restaurant decor.
Richard Brooks
The best burek I've ever encountered. (Call them in advance to get it started in advance - they take 45 minutes plus to prepare....) The roast pork plate was also masterful. Hit the ATM before you head over, but go - and plan on eating well!
Tim Bond
Very good food! It was crowded due to a birthday party but the atmosphere was vibrant! Unique food and drinks that I really liked. I would like to try some of the other menu items on my next trip to the Milwaukee area!
Jacob Siegel
Absolutely delicious. Food like my grandma made, well prepared and hearty. Staff was attentive and helped answer all our questions.
Ian Kutner
Amazing. Food was awesome. The owners were friendly and rare. Rare because in this fast paced world they understand tradition. Blessings on there house. My family will be returning to this venue for as long as it stands.
J Shipley Newlin Jr
Old style restaurant with excellent Serbian food. Great staff and atmosphere. Try the bourek and the stuffed peppers. Also the mixed appetizer plate.
Kristina Shonat
My husband and I had no idea what we were getting into by stopping at three brothers when exploring Bay view for a new place to eat. We thought we time warped into the past with the decor and ambiance. My grandma has the same antique table in her kitchen as the restaurants tables, which added to the fun and whimsy of the three brothers. Our server was kind and informed us of the history of the building and the significance of the Schlitz globe. I ordered the burek which was delightful. Next time I would definitely order ahead of time as it takes a long time for the burek to cook. Lovely experience and delicious food.
Gail Turluck
Oh my gosh! Biggest reason to do Queens Cup race is you get to Milwaukee and get to go to the Three Brothers! Serbian food, drink and coffee! Prepared fresh. Incredible service. Delicious! Can't go wrong with any dish.
victoria stefanovich-taseska
Delicious food and served hot too. Somewhat limited choice of juices for children, excellent service and staff.
I only wish they'd asked us if we wanted the onions removed from the kids meals.
Would pay them a visit again.
David Ellice
My favorite restaurant in Milwaukee. Old world charm, stellar customer service and delicious food. You may need reservations but do yourself a favor and visit this establishment.
bob kinosian
Food is absolutely amazing! Atmosphere and service are exceptional. We felt like we were dining at our grandmother's home but didn't have to do the dishes afterward.

My party had the chicken paprikash, beef goulash & pork loin with mustard sauce. All the meat was tender and flavorful. The stuffed grape leaves were my favorite. Sorry, but the service was very slow.
Emanuel Begos
Been going here for many years and this is our favorite place to dine at or at these current times, pick up at curbside. Food is spectacular and if you get a chance, dining in is a special experience
Randi Cox
Neat place, amazing food! I am spoiled after years of eating my Serbian grandma's sarma, so I went into this with high expectations, and Three Brothers did not disappoint. I truly relished the perfectly-seasoned, nicely-rolled sarma, as well as the flaky, delicious strudel. Absolutely wonderful!
Krystal Kekula
Everything we had here was DEVINE. Amazing food! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodated our lack of a reservation by bringing up an extra bar stool. You really need a reservation. The bar is first come, first served for seating, but there are only 4 seats available as it is a tiny bar! It is cash only! But come prepared with a reservation and some cash and you will not be disappointed!
Rali Schultz
I enjoyed it very much nice atmosphere & pleasant staff. Although no recommendations were made or specials. Food was delicious!!!
Kerry Nelson
Three Brothers is a must to visit if you haven't already. Amazing Serbian dishes, good beer & wine selection and the atmosphere transports you back to the days of Old Milwaukee. Make a reservation, it's a small space that's popular on the weekends.
Melissa Mautz
The next best thing to my late baba's cooking. Of course, her sarma was the best. However, tonight I felt like I was in her kitchen again. Thank you for the delicious food, warm atmosphere, and slowed-down pace...just what I needed.
Bob Lannin
I grade hard, was really a nice dinner. Service couldn't have been better ir more pleasant.
Michel Chagall
I love this restaurant, and always take visiting family/friends here for an experience they'll remember. The placeis ALWAYS packed, so make reservations. Order the burek ahead- it's worth it! I wish the place were a little cleaner and a little updated, but it id's otherwise flawless.
Rob Steege
An experiance like no other. From apps to main course and service every thing was fantastic. Would definitley recommend. Be prepared to stay a while as some dishes require one hour for prep because they are made from scratch.
Ginny Reega
Our favorite restaurant. The ambiance makes it special and the food is wonderful. My favorite place to take out of town visitors. Been going there for decades, have been welcomed by the three generations of propietors.
C. J. Long
Wonderful Serbian food that hasn't changed much since the late 1970s. Still traditional and family owned in a historic corner building in Bayview. A real gem when so many charming, traditional restaurants are dying out or "upscaling".
Damir Djidic
Interesting spin on Serbian cuisine, food tastes good and comes in large portion sizes. Order ahead for the fresh baked pita. Prices are a little high.
Susan Katzban
I have been dining at Three Brothers for 40 years and ihave never been disappointed. A true neighbourhood gem. The food is always outstanding, the service is friendly and professional. The service pace is more "european", so expect NOT to be rushed.
Ron G
One of my favorite restaurants in the Midwest. Great food, reasonable prices, and a relaxed "old world" feel about the place. Well worth the visit !
David Pappas
As someone who grew up eating food from this region, I can tell you, this is excellent food. Great service, but plan on a leisurely meal.
P Dydula
Singularity changed my mind about Milwaukee. Amazing service, great ambience, food was terrific as was the Serbian wine. The nearby neighborhood also has great bars.
Vaughn J
Great warm atmosphere. Sarma, grape leaves, and goose were all excellent. Service was kind and prompt.
Drew Wittig
FANTASTIC place!
GREAT food!
Call ahead for reservations and you may want to ask about the menu and pre-order something. Some dishes take 1 hour to make but are well worth the wait.
Angela-Marie Vilanj
Love thier food and can never get enough of it. My husband is Croatian and every time we go here he swears his grandmother is in the kitchen cooking. It is a very nostalgic place for our family.
Bentley Wolfe
Outstanding Serbian food in my kind of old school place!
Craig Burbey
An absolute delight. The beef burek is amazing, but be prepared to wait because of cooking time. The Serbian salad is also wonderful. The Dalmation red is the perfect wine to enhance almost everything on the menu.
Daniel Nagel
Had the Chicken Paprikash and Burek. The food was outstanding and the service was warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Jacob C
The Burek (spinach and cheese) was fantastic!! We called 45 minutes ahead to have them make the Burek. The Goulash was also outstanding!! Service was excellent!!
Lori Nashban
Always delicious home cooked traditional Serbian dishes served. The Bourek is our favorite! Been around for 60 plus years so doing something right!
Christopher Phelps
Classic Serbian food in comfortable house setting. Definitely call for a reservation and be prepared to pay cash. There is a cash machine next door if you are short
Richard Melchor
R.I.P Alex Radicevich, 😊.. Old Town …
Justin Gordon
Best burgers you'll ever have! It use to be a gas station. There is only 1 cook but he cooks it fast and you can watch him make your food. Feels like they know you.
Julie Klosiewski
Love the burek and my husband loves the roast lamb.
John Farnen
Food delicious, service excellent. Decor a flashback to early 1960s Milwaukee. Loved the Plantaze Merlot, which went well with chicken paprikash.
Dom
Point blank, their burek is to die for. The service was a little slow, but then again, this isn't really a restaurant to go to for a quick meal. The ambience was great as well. You can only pay with cash, but so what?
Marcus Severin
When I lived in BV this was a place I would reserve for special occasions solely because it is just a special place. Now that I live out of state, we make sure to stop by on our annual trip back to Milwaukee. Get a burek, please.
Anon Kekevski
Most authentic Serbian food in the US. Has the same atmosphere as a Serbian kafana. Food's a bit pricey but well worth your money.
Wilson Wright
Everything as expected; like being with family. Truly unique.
Ellen Simic
After hearing so many good things about this place I thought it'd be THE place to take my Serbian boyfriend for dinner...What a disappointment!!!!!!!!!!! The tight seating space, the very slow...poor service...the portions relatively small and the taste far from the wonderful reviews I was told by friends, co-workers and other reviews. 45 mins to get our food....I will not be back
Paul Hans
Fantastic again
Sanford Silverberg
Always great food and service. Very upbeat atmosphere with the groups of customers, historic bar like you're living in 40's decor.
Tony Novinska
Old World cuisine blebds well with Old World charm. The food is fantastic and the service is top notch.
Doug Wandler
I first came here with my wife as our first date in 1998 and it hasn’t changed since and that’s a great thing. This place is as great as it was 21 years ago. Everyone should take a step back in time and try this place.
Kurtis Kracaw
Completely exceeded expectation. Can not wait to go back. So many good things to code from on the menu.
Imelda Roman

$60 Dinner for 2 w/a couple tiny drinks. For those prices they should upgrade the rickety uncomfortable chairs or spruce up the prison-like bathrooms!
Laurie Nolan
Their food and service were fantastic.
Joe Bare
