This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants for special occasions! It's very cozy and romantic. My husband & I celebrated our "Valentine's dinner" here on Feb. 18th. We got a nice table near the warm fire. They have extremely friendly staff, & every bite & sip is one to savor. This place is a hidden gem. 😃

We had an amazing night there. We were a party of 14 and the waitstaff and Suzette were so gracious despite it being packed. And the food - incredible! I had the lasagne and also tried the butternut squash ravioli and asparagus side - all of it was just delicious and perfectly portioned. Everyone at the table loved their meals as well. I will definitely be back soon!

An adorable storefront restaurant on Milwaukee's East Side. Very cozy and romantic. It feels like you are dining at the home of a friend rather than eating in a restaurant. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Our server, Angel, did an excellent job taking care of us.

The food was good but not great. Our server was nice but never asked how our meals were. I don't expect that at Denny's but I do when we're paying $30-40 a plate. The waitresses should we're something a little more formal than a Hoodia with the restaurant name on it to. The waiters were dressed much better. We weren't excited over the deserts either. Im sorry to say but there was nothing that stood out.

Nice cozy ambiance for a romantic dinner. Very busy night! Our waitress really hustled taking care of all the guests. Loved my red pepper soup and francese sauce with whole wheat pasta. Just the right amount of cream in the sauce and absolutely delicious. My husband had the Cioppino and wasn't impressed; sauce was too spicy and lobster was quite tough. Tiramisu was a bit dry this time but enjoyed it nonetheless. Cocktails were excellent! Lovely spot on the eastside for an Italian dinner.

When we got to this place I seen all the negative reviews and I don't understand why. The service, due to being a bit understaffed, was a little slow. I also thought the prices were a little high. But the food was really good. We had calamari for an app, my wife had tortellini and I had a bleu cheese chicken Alfredo. And everything was awesome. I would come back.

Absolutely delicious, decedent food. Presentation was outstanding, staff was very attentive. Excellent wine and drink menu. The main menu has something for anyone. Will not be displeased with your visit here. Quaint and romantic atmosphere. Nice quiet music playing in the background. Only downfall is the parking. Uber will get you there just fine and you can really enjoy yourself responsibly. Located in lower east side, perfect for a nice walk around afterwards. Excellent!! Hope you enjoy yourselves here.

Went there last night for dinner. My pasta and scallops were awesome. My wife had to send her lasagna back because the center was cold. That was corrected. The waitress was inattentive. Didn't check back regularly. When I wanted more water always had to ask. She was behind the bar making drinks while the bartender dried glasses. Shouldn't the bartender be making drinks and the waitress paying attention to customers? I left a small tip, which I think was generous considering the poor service by the waitress.

Of course I hold bias being a chef here. But out of any restaurant I've worked I never would eat from there.. I have no qualms about eating food from the pasta tree. And it's good even after all the times I cook these base menu plates for our guests within night, I still love to eat from here whenever I can. Fresh pasta made in the restaurant, high quality food, and an extremely waste conscious process makes me proud to call the pasta tree home and makes me hungry just talking about it! Specials tend to be a little pricier, but believe me. It's worth it, splurge a little you won't be sorry. Oh and for dessert u have to try our Chocolate Nemesis flourless torte. Raved as the best in milwaukee by food critics and guests alike, there's a lot to see (the old Italy dining room), a lot of fun (it's not just a "date night" restaurant. Bring your friends too, we do romance well, but we can kiki too 😝) and of course a LOT of food. Reservations preferred, but Walk-ins welcome with smile. Come see what we're about.

Took my youngest kid with me out for dinner and we had the best time! Our server Angel was great and we ordered two of the specials, 16oz ribeye and a very tasty salad. I ran into owner Suzette a few years ago at Lambeau Field and have been meaning to stop back into her restaurant ever since. This is a cozy place with a great vibe and an intimate home cooked feel and great wine list :)

It says a lot about how good everything was that despite the fact that they had a cooler malfunction that night and couldn't serve signature cocktails or certain cheeses, it was still great. Delicious meals with pasta that's authentic and fresh. Not much more to say than it's sort of the perfect Italian dining experience in Milwaukee.

This was our first time dining at The Pasta Tree and we were thoroughly impressed! They have a fantastic wine selection, wonderful pasta options, and the best chocolate cake I have had in years. Went for dinner last Friday night. Service is abysmal. What should have been an hour maybe hour and a half dinner dragged on for two and one half hours while we waited for corrected orders (brought me the wrong dish the first time) and the bill!! Ordered sauce to take home and they brought me the wrong sauce but I took it because I couldn't wait any longer!!! It's crazy!!! That said the food is PHENOMENAL!!!! The cannoli is to die for. Up to you whether the sub par service is worth the wait for the food.

Wow. You will pay a few dollar signs on this one, but the quality of food is well worth it. This adorable, romantic little restaurant accommodated our party of 13. The waiter was very friendly especially entertaining the kids in what could normally be a boring environment for them. Each dish you can tell was homemade as there was a lot of sharing going on. You can partake in an after dinner drink at the quaint little bar. Very delicious.

He explained to us the level of extra precautions being taken to protect their environment during this Covid nightmare - which made us extra comfortable.

Covid made us wait 7 months to visit our favorite Italian restaurant, but it was worth every second. The food was better than delicious, and our server Kyle was simply great. Can't wait to go back!! Visiting from out of town. We are Italian and love trying new Italian restaurants. The food was really good but the service was extremely slow. The waitress walked by our table numerous times without acknowledging us or checking in with us if we needed anything and had zero personality. We will not be returning to this establishment upon our next visit to Milwaukee.

Great ambience! The owner & staff are very friendly & professional, & cater to your every need. The food is amazing & never disappointing, from the complimentary bread & oil, to the entrees, appetizers, & dessert. If you are a wine lover, they have an extensive wine list & knowledge about what is the best to pair w/ your dinner. Prices can be a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for! And sometimes they have a Groupon. :) Highly recommended.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 25 years and not once have I been disappointed in anything. The food, atmosphere, service and pricing are wonderful. It is like going home every time I am there. All of these people who complain need a life. During COVID people need to get a clue as to how hard it is. Also, remember your words actually do harm to businesses. Unless the business spits in your face, remember that everyone is doing their best and trying to make a living. For those of you who would rather insult a business online, why don't you put your big girl or boy pants on, do the mature thing, and call the restaurant and speak to the owner. That would be the grown up and professional thing to do rather that trashing a business.

I love bringing a date here. I love the people. They are so warm and kind. Sometimes their children are there too who are delightful and intelligent. Not a sense of pretension, as I have experienced at the Italian grocer on Brady, which makes or breaks a restaurant for me. Thank you, Pasta Tree!

I really enjoyed my time with friends and some really great food at the Pasta Tree. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I tried their Gorgonzola Alfredo Fettuccini and really enjoyed a different twist on the flavor. Street parking can sometimes be a problem, but it's worth the hassle. Small and intimate. Great old school ambience.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dining at the Pasta Tree tonight (Thursday). It was so relaxing, the food was excellent, and we liked our waiter, Robert, and the bartender -- didn't get his name, but he takes his profession seriously. We'll definitely go back -- and take friends with us.

Friends that live in the area have said wonderful things about this place. However I've heard mixed things in recent years. My girlfriend and I tried to call and make a reservation several hours before we arrived, but every time we called the line was either busy or we got no answer. As a walk in with no reservation, our wait time was well over 30 minutes for a table. We were told by the host that they normally were not as busy on a week night, and that a Groupon deal that week had them at seating capacity for several nights in a row. The inside of the place had some unique character, but it's VERY small, so waiting at the crowded wine bar/entrance area for so long was a little irritating. Once seated though, the service was pleasant. The food was actually quite good. The price of the meal was much higher than I had anticipated though. Wait time for our meal was 40 minutes from seating, but that's to be expected with everything being prepared from scratch. Definitely a good place for a quiet "romantic dinner", but make sure you call ahead and have a seat waiting for you when you arrive.

Very small and intimate setting, however, with advanced notice, larger parties may be accommodated. Very simple but complex in flavor. At least the pasta I throughly enjoyed. I had the lasagne while my husband had pasta with sauce. I would definitely recommend a reservation.

The food is hit or miss. I might be being a bit generous with 3 stars but they didn't quite warrant 2. Some things they do VERY well (I highly recommend the caprese with home-made mozzarella), while other dishes are a little bland which, considering the price, is disappointing. As for the wine list, frankly it's a bit of a joke. For a restaurant which also bills itself as a wine bar, and serves many dishes with light, creamy sauces, seafood and chicken, they have surprisingly few white wines on offer. So when the only two white wines sold by the glass which pair well with your meal are not just sold out but not actually available there any more, and the excuse is that the wine menu is "old and out of date", that's just not acceptable. That's not on the server - the service there is very good - but rather on whomever is responsible for maintaining the wine list and making claims about being a wine bar.

Food was okay. Atmosphere felt rushed and non-cozy. Service was slow (waitress was constantly reminding us she was alone and told us service would be slow), but we got tired of the excuse offered. My beer was cold, so that's cool.

We had the most amazing Grapefruit Rosemary Moscow Mule last night at the Pasta Tree. Our dinners were amazing as was the Chocolate Nemesis dessert with Salted Caramel Gelato - the flavors mixed perfectly. Another 5 star experience at the Pasta Tree. I need to mention the service was outstanding. :)!

Good appetizers, calamari and mozzarella. The basil pesto pasta was average. Whole wheat noodles were mushy. Our egg pasta chicken dish was better in flavor and texture, but nothing to rave about. Nice environment. Was a bit expensive, probably won't return.

BEST Day ever!!! We had a wonderful Sunday at The Pasta Tree with 20 friends and family. The food was amazing, we had 15 different dishes~ The Pasta could not have been more perfect. The Italian Donuts, OMG, I didn’t even think I liked donuts. Amazing.

I simply don't understand why anyone would give this a bad review, this place was simply amazing. Food was very delicious and pretty reasonably priced for the fantastic quality. I told them when I made the reservation that I planned on proposing that weekend, so they set us up at one of their nicest tables without a second thought. Have been here more than once and have found the entrees to be spectacular each time. Dishes are well prepared and delicate, delivering across the menu. Each time I've visited, however, the service has left something to be desired. In my opinion, it's enough to make a note of it and keep off a star.

Came on a weeknight. Overhead music was too loud, made it difficult to talk to each other. Had their "classic clam dish." Too salty took away from any other flavor that may have been there. Overpriced. Service was good. Good atmosphere.

My wife and I used a Groupon on a Friday evening with 5:30pm reservations. We were seated immediately...across from the men's room door even though we one of only 5-6 tables in the restaurant. Service was VERY slow, and our waiter's demeanor was that we were inconveniencing him...actually rude and cold! We had to wave him over when we wanted another drink, and he clearly was irritated. Another waiter delivered our entree, and no one returned to ask how the food was or if there was anything else we needed. The food was OK...maybe even good...but nothing exceptional. We are an older couple, and there was an older couple at a table next to us that was also complaining about the service...slow and poor attitude. When we go out to dinner and spend $85 with tax and tip, we expect a much better experience than whet we had the Pasta Tree. VERY disappointed!!

We were disappointed that they did not have lasagna or soup, both items were on the menu. (Two of our group of 4 planned to order the lasagna and were very disappoimted when we were told they did not have any) Also, It also took a very long time to get our food ( And it wasn't very busy when we ordered). Once the food arrived, it was good (but somewhat pricy.) I will say that our waiter was awesome and very personable. Over all I'm glad I tried the restaurant but I'm not sure I would go back.

It's a cute spot for date night. My dish was a bit over salted (and I like salt!) but otherwise I enjoyed it. My date asked for a extra garlic in a garlic-based dish and was charged $2.00 which seemed kind of outrageous especially since the waitress made no mention of the upcharge.

Went with another couple for dinner. Touted as the best "romantic" place to go. We were seated near the noisy kitchen-even though we were the first ones there so, not romantic. I ordered Caesar Salad to start. The only thing Caesar about it was the romaine and a couple of anchovies. No croutons, no Caesar dressing-had a vinaigrette, and no parmesan (I think it was mozarella). Pasta dish was under seasoned with canned rubbery artichokes. Other dishes were just okay. Left disappointed.

Kyle is phenomenal. He stayed 20min past closing as we were running late, kept our food warm, and made sure we had everything we needed for my wife's and I special night out. The food was absolutely fantastic, but his kind gesture really made our night. Thanks Kyle!!

I've worked in the service industry for over twenty years, and at almost every restaurant there have been at least a few items on the menu that I would politely guide people away from. After working at The Pasta Tree for almost five months now I have yet to find an item that I wouldn't want to serve. They nail it every time from soups, salads, and appetizers, to the main course, and deserts. I'm very grateful that I found this Milwaukee Gem, and blessed to be employed here. A few favorites: - Arugula and Fennel salad 🥗 - Mozzarella en Sugo - Chicken Pesto Linguini - Terimisu If you have yet to check this place out, and you like Italian food do yourself a favor and make a reservation today, or at the very least grab something via Uber Eats.

Way too poor of service for mediocre food! Me and a guest got to the restaurant at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Although there was at least 10 tables empty near the main entrance, we were shuffled through the kitchen area to the far back area of the other side of the restaurant. Although there was only three or four tables with seated customers, it took almost ten minutes for the server to take our drink order. At least another ten minutes to get it, with apologies for the wait. Our order was not taken at this point, the server said she would be right back. At least another 10 minutes until she returned with more apologies for the wait. Our order was taken, the appetizer and salad came within a reasonable time from one of the kitchen staff, not the server. Approximately 15 minutes later, the entrees came again from the kitchen staff. I had chicken alfredo. The garlic was soooooo overpowering that the entree had nothing but garlic flavor. My guest had shrimp vegetable pasta and said it was just "OK". The server did not come back at any time to see if we needed more beverages or to see if the food was to our liking. By this time it was almost 7 pm and just about every table was full, which was 12-14 in the rear area of the restaurant. SHE WAS THE ONLY SERVER!!!!!! We finished our dinner and waited for a box for the left overs, which I was not interested in taking due to the poor taste, but my guest did. It was al least another 10 minutes when the server came back with the box and then asked if we wanted dessert. We declined and it was at least ANOTHER 10 MINUTES before she brought the check with apology after apology for all of the waiting. By this time it was close to 8 pm. This was a ridiculous amount of time for any meal, the apologies just did not make up for the food that was not very good and quite pricy for the quality. Although the server was friendly, we will not EVER return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone, ever. Good luck with this place if you decide to try it and make sure you have nowhere to go afterwards.

Pasta Tree is a Milwaukee staple, focusing on traditional pasta dishes in a small, Italian inspired space. Food: My wife and I had the calamari fries for an appetizer. This could have been a meal on its own, having about 10 or so large strips of calamari in a cream dipping sauce. Flavor was good, however had a bit of a chew to it. My wife chose Aglio Olio for her main dish, and I chose the Carbonara. My carbonara was cooked al dente, and the sauce had a rich taste with the smokey bacon coming through well. My wife’s Aglio Olio was simplistic, but incredibly satisfying. Such a simple, traditional dish, but very well done! We ended on a tiramisu, which was definitely one of the best I’ve had. Atmosphere: Very small, but made to replicate a small dinner in Italy. Intimate is the best word for it, and very nice. Service: Waiter was very kind and quick, and well versed in the specials. Bartender did a great job with the drinks. My score: 8/10. So there are two ways to look at Pasta Tree: if you are looking for very traditional pasta dishes done very well, than this place has it in spades. If you are looking for more modern takes on dishes, or more representation of Italian cuisine than just pasta, you may look elsewhere. That said, the taste and atmosphere was very good, showing why this long running establishment still brings them in.

After an eternity of hearing her talk about wanting to visit this establishment, I finally brought my wife here on a Wednesday night as a surprise date. We arrived a little earlier than 5pm, but were graciously let in and seated while our host continued about his setup for the evening. The ambiance says "date night", by the way... Our evening began with an incredibly tasty fresh bread that must have just been pulled from the oven (we smelled it as soon as we walked in) and an herb-butter spread. Delicious!!!! Since we were the first customers, the owner (Suzette) actually took the time to come to our table and talk to us about the restaurant's history and how everything is prepared from scratch. My wife and I each had an appetizer that consisted of a baby chard and green salad in a bacon vinaigrette topped off with a perfectly seared scallop. OMG!!! We decided to order two different dishes so we could try each others plate out. She had the lobster tail on a bed of fresh egg pasta in a buttery garlic sauce with fresh herbs. Normally, she refuses to eat her lobster with anything but butter and lemon... The tails were cooked perfect and the seasoning was amazing! I've had fresh pasta before, but holy cow, I don't know why it married to that sauce so well. AMAZING! I ordered the Manicotti with the Tomato Meat sauce... Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge fan of Mama Mia's (Sorry if you read that Suzette!), but MM's cannot hold a candle to the experience I had when I took the first bite. The sauce was so well balanced in flavors that made it so incredibly tasty when paired with the fresh manicotti/ricotta. - Oh, by the way, you are offered fresh parmesan cheese, which I did indulge. Creme Brulee' - Umm.... enough said!!! Our waiter was a frequent visitor to our table offering water and more bread even though, by the start of our entree', he had about 10 separate tables that he was tending to besides us. All through the ordering, I wasn't keeping tabs on the bill. After all, this was date night, which doesn't happen frequently. I was pleasantly surprised of the total for the amount of food and service we received. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and get down there and check the place out. Fabulous food and atmosphere! We will be back for sure!

The first time my fiance and I came here we were given good service and good food. But the last time we came here. Everything was just soooo good! I had this sea food dish thay had a generous amounts of lobster, shrimp, mussles, and scalops in a white wine sauce with perfectly cooked spinch pasta! My soon to be wife had a really tasty Alfredo linguini spinch pasta dish. Together we shared a desert of chocolate cake with a tart and sweet cherry jam reduction. We are definitely going back when the opportunity arises(its pay day and we are to lazy to cook).

The posted hours on the building and the site are 4:30 on Wednesdays. However, when my mom and I got there we walked in to chairs in the walkway and vacuums yelling out to us. Fix your hours. You open at 5. I don't see my mom often. Granted, we had an early dinner, but we went off of your hours. Nonetheless, the food was fair. Matched with their Groupon, I'm happy to have gone. Without the Groupon? I probably wouldn't return. It's worth a go.

It was my wife's and mine 18th anniversary, so I heard about the restaurant, and decided to try it out. They didn't honor my coupon I had purchased earlier, which put a damper on it--now, I have to not only fork over an additional not-expected amount, but I have a coupon I have to put on hold...I could have spent the monies elsewhere. Plus, they ran out of Lasagna. Come on! If you know that you might run out of something, why didn't you make more for the next day? I ordered Manicotti, which was beyond fabulous, but was really looking forwards to having that Lasagna. My wife ordered fetuccini, which was also very good. I felt that service was rather frank and impartial, and was no consideration for my frustration. I will only be going back because I have that coupon that I am going to use, and not return again.

I love it here, the place is very homey and they have good decorations. The pasta is yummy and comes out pretty fast. Must try the tiramisu for dessert. I keep finding myself craving their creamy pesto sauce.

I've been to Pasta Tree several times over the years, and have really wanted to like it each time. Most recently, I ordered artichoke hearts in alfredo over spinach pasta, which was good. The alfredo was thinner than I prefer, but still very tasty. Cheese raviolis were also good. Waiter was mostly cordial, albeit bordering between "how can I help you" and "please don't bother me" at times. We had a table that was so very wobbly, and we asked if that could be remedied, but it could not (after one attempt). Atmosphere of the front dining area was quietly energetic. I might stop back here someday, but there won't be any urgency.

What can I say? As always, the pasta tree was a delight to dine at. We haven't dined here in almost 6 years due to moving away from milwaukee. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service from Kyle was without a doubt the best service we have had in years! He showed up every couple minutes, engaged in conversation, and gave some insights into choices on the menu with a direct to the point opinion. Would dine here every night just because of Kyle. The food was delicious, bacon wrapped dates were delicious, and the pour from the bartender on my Johnny walker blue was all of 3 fingers. The main dishes and desert left you wanting more but definitely not needing more. 5 stars all around, what an amazing place and atmosphere.
