Reviews of Story Hill BKC
Simon Prosser
Group lunch for about 12 of us in a quiet little private room. Waiter was brilliant. Very knowledgeable, personable bloke who was not overbearing in the slightest. As for the food, simply delicious. All of it. Perfectly cooked, well presented and very tasty. Cocktails were just as good as the food. Were even available to go after the meal. Very impressed on my first visit here. Won't be my last.

This restaurant is designed for anyone who enjoys food and great cocktails. We tried the cocktail flight and they were all delightful. We had escargot, beef tartare, pork schnitzel, salmon, cauliflower .. and more. Every dish was perfect. If we had one suggestion it would be to have less salt on the pretzel bread…. But then again, that’s a matter of taste. The server explained the dishes well and spent time at the table explaining everything. All the staff were great. Kitchen staff were also accessible and interested in our experience. I’m definitely going back when I am in the area next!

Very good. Always great quality. Friendly staff. So clean. I love the atmosphere. I love the location. It's a great spot. I always appreciate their pastries. We recently had the strawberry rye cookie & it was amazing.
There is usually a wait but I recommend going early. They do have a midday menu (after lunch before dinner) which is never fun if you don't notice the time. But I understand the transition period. Just something to be aware of.
My only complaint is the bathroom! Wow! In the winter it is so cold. This weekend I walked in the bathroom I immediately didn't have to go anymore bc my body froze. another girl walked in & made a comment too! not sure if it's normally like that. Hate the idea of even leaving a "bad" comment. Just found that to be a little bizarre.
Anyway! It's a great little spot. Highly recommend!

#1 restaurant in the US I've ever been! My brother-in-law took me and my husband and this place is amazing. The foods were so delicious. Not only yummy but also healthy. I was very impressed with quality of food from this restaurant so had to bring the whole family here later. I don't know how there are such great restaurants in Milwaukee. I am so jealous of people who leaves in Milwaukee. I highly recommend you to try here if you go or live in Milwaukee. No wonder it has 4.7 stars review. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

A neat restaurant with local fares. Really enjoyable atmosphere and a decent collection of Wine available.
We all enjoyed our meals here. We ordered the Ham and Cheese on a pretzel bun, the shakshouka, and the kids chicken fingers and crepe.
All ingredients were fresh, flavorful and helped you enjoy each bite.
We also ordered coffee. It wasn’t that special, but there was plenty of it.
A gem of a restaurant and worth a stop if you are going through Milwaukee.

Story Hill is one of the best brunch places I've ever been to based on their food alone. They have a rotating special brunch menu which always has the most delicious options and then they have their standard menu as well. They also have a bottle shop next to their table section that includes wine and a selection of spirits.

Had a delicious meal with great service last night as we celebrated our daughter's birthday at Story Hill BKC. Draught Old Fashioneds were quite good so we had 2. The sharing concept and dishes coming out as they were ready was a unique take on a dinner menu yet it worked out very well. The food was all delicious and our server was very attentive. They even comped us dessert because of the birthday celebration - thank you! Check it out - highly recommend!

We had heard great things about Story Hill BKC and they lived up to all of the previous reviews! We went for brunch and had two great dishes: the crepe-urrito and the broccoli cheddar egg bake. We also had a great spot right near the kitchen and had the ability to see all sorts of great dishes come out. Definitely recommend both! We’re excited to go back and continue exploring the menu!

Delicious meal. I loved the steak sandwich and side of beets. My girlfriend really enjoyed her crepe. Very filling for a fair price. I will definitely return!

The vibe was great! We came here for brunch. It was one of the rare restaurant that they do everything from crape to sandwich to Benedict egg, but still make everything perfect!

Since before even moving to Chicago a few years ago from NJ, we've been coming to Milwaukee. In the past two years, we've been nearly once a month for sports, marathon races, or brewery events. While finding some great spots (Eagle Park, 1840, Camino, Blooming Lotus), our dinner options were usually relegated to bars or ballparks. Yesterday, we sought to change that.
Story Hill is 4-star dining in a comfortable, down home American setting. Options available for everyone, from vegetarians to meat lovers. And the drink menu, from beer to cocktails, is tops.
We tried several things on the menu, from a superb cauliflower appetizer dish, to beef tenderloin and heirloom tomato risotto. Everything was perfect, cooked to order in front of you in a coal fired oven.
While I want to keep exploring more Milwaukee fare, it's going to be very hard not to come back here.

I am not a live to eat kind of person, and yet, I would live to eat this food. The biscuits are absolute heaven. The meatball? Melt in your mouth delicious. And the hamburger? Rich and decadent. We also had a cocktail flight which was a treat in and of itself. The best part is that the dining experience is casual, so you can show up in nice jeans and experience divine dining.
First time here and will happily return.

I had high hopes for this restaurant. The service was great, the drinks tasty, but they had very little options (outside of salad, raw ground beef, and highly-modified trout dish) that I could eat having a gluten allergy. Typically, a restaurant of this caliber has their menu dialed in for food allergy accommodations. The server wasn't surprised that we closed out our tab, having only ordered drinks, to go eat elsewhere. Maybe this will change so we can come back. It sure smelled delicious in there!

My friends and I love this place!! From the service to the food to atmosphere, cannot beat this place! Such a great, relaxing atmosphere and the food is on point everytime. I was visiting from Texas and I made sure that my friends and I met here for brunch.
Chase Nelson
I'd be more inclined to like Story Hill if they had a functional patio, heck it even has patio season on the back of their shirts lol. After getting a bar spot in a selected area, even though it's all first come first serve, I finally looked over the menu. It's barely different than during the week, so I'm not sure why there is a draw for brunch here. The food was okay, I got the special okonomiyaki crepe. It was pretty salty and extremely heavy, I'm a but sad that the waiter talked me out of the shashuka since that's the only reason I even went there. I doubt I'll be back, but who knows.

Tracey, our server tonight, was so sweet! And we witnessed her navigate some intoxicated guests with ease. Very impressive!
Food (as always) was delicious, absolutely loved the fresh crab ragoons, and cocktail tap flight was amazing. We will be back!
Thank you Tracey and the chefs!
Jeremy Riese
This place is amazing. I came here with my girlfriend for their wine table experience. It was absolutely phenomenal and worth every penny.
Our server was amazing, provided excellent service and was not intrusive at all. The meal was phenomenal! Their executive chef is extremely talented, and his creations are an experience that should be had by all. All of the flavors and textures were complementary and not overwhelming. The wine pairings we're equally amazing.
If you're looking for ideas for a dining experience for special occasions, I highly recommend this.

Solid five-star restaurant in unassuming surroundings! The food was outstanding. The freshness of the ingredients and the chef’s prep skills were clearly evident. Exceptionally enjoyable meal.
The drinks are great too. Highly recommend.
Martha Ruvalcaba
This place is fantastic. Their food is one of the best in the area, delicious, fresh, full of flavors and excellent presentation. Their service definitely outstanding. They are knowledgeable about their menu and super friendly.
I recommend you to make reservations, they are super busy .
Their wine selection won't disappoint you but,
If you like tequila, my suggestion is a Paloma.
Note: They are very clean and they're tables have acceptable distance to prevent COVID 19.
Kanchana Srinivasan
Excellent food and a limited but delicious selection of items on the brunch menu. Their Greek yoghurt panna cotta was super delish! And their potatoes make your mouth water. Wish they had more options for vegetarians.
Julie Kuhrt
Overall, friendly staff and tasty dishes. The bbq mushroom sandwich was my favorite (can’t necessarily tell from the photo— the good stuff is under the pita)

Went here for my sons birthday dinner and had an excellent meal. Our server, Tracey, was patient and kind with our questions as we took our time deciding what to enjoy. The meal was delicious - especially the gnocchi!! We didn't have room for dessert but they brought out ice cream and a candle for my son :) Would highly recommend Story Hill BKC
Jon Nadler
Outstanding!! Bravo!! Excellent service. Paced dinner with my tastes. Never rushed. Never slow. The reduction on the beef steak was delicious!!
Luke Burkholder
We've been here a few times with friends and more recently I was here for a small work dinner. It's a nice menu with a nice highbrow twist on some 'Sconnie favorites. They have a curated selection of craft beer, what looks to be a decent wine list, and a nice tight specialty cocktail menu. It can get busy, so get reservations or call.

My husband, his parents, and I shared the cheese board, watermelon salad, chicken thighs, and beef rib. We loved them all! Everything tasted fresh and the flavors were out of this world! I would highly recommend. The service was great too. Only downfall is lack of parking especially during a home Brewer game.
Jim Ward
Excellent food. Welcoming Service from the time we walked in the door. Appreciated the manager stopping to thank guests for coming in. Unique Dishes. Various small plate options. The Banana Cream Tart for dessert was worth the trip by itself.

I had my second meal there a little over a week ago and I am still thinking about it!! First time, I had the egg bake, it came with a small side salad on the same plate and maybe 5 fingerling potatoes. The meal felt very balanced.
My husband had a savory crepe stuffed with ham, homemade pickles and a homemade Dijon drizzle.
Additionally, I had the old fashioned on tap. I'm typically not a fan of premixed cocktails, but this was really good it was sweet but not overwhelmingly so, had a healthy amount of bitters too. It was strong but not so strong I thought it was trying to kill me...and the hocherries O.M.G!!!! I really really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back!! 😍😋
Second meal, I had an AMAZING salad with wild rice and butternut squash, just to die for!! We took on tap old fashioned cocktails home. Go to this place you won't be disappointed!!!!
Theresa Crowley
My husband and I had the beef tartare, the cedar plank trout, burger and au gratin side dish. Everything was beyond amazing! I can't say enough, the service was informative and very friendly. The atmosphere was comforting and non imposing. Phenomenal food, must try.

This was my first time visiting Story Hill BKC. We're not too familiar with Milwaukee and picked this place on a whim. Wanted to take my daughter someplace for lunch as we were dropping her off for college.
There was a lunch time rush. Turns out it's a close walk to the baseball stadium. Decent pre-game crowd for a Wednesday afternoon.
Everything on the menu sounded amazing. It didn't help that the restaurant smelled amazing as well. We really had a hard time deciding what to get. Lots of meatless options for those not looking to eat meat.
Everyone was happy with their order and the wait staff was very friendly.
We will definitely return.
Andrew David Greer
Incredible. Everything was delicious - amazing bloody Marys - and the cinnamon role was EVERYTHING. They've gone above and beyond to protect their customers and match the decor. Parking in the back but don't park at Vladys because they tow. We'll be coming back a lot.
Sarah Hernandez
I went there with a few friends and shared a few different dishes. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The drinks were good too.
Julie Jasinski
The server was excellent. My big salad with squash, bacon, Brussel sprouts, etc. Was super yummy. Great place to meet a long time friend for a holiday week lunch
Lance Wooten
Went here last night with some friends for dinner. Had several items from the menu shared between 4 people. Service, food , drink selection & experience were all 5 stars. Will be back for sure!
Jreggud
Food was incredible. It’s was a bit loud but food more than makes up for the noise.
Brandon Mott
Get Tracy, Amanda, or anyone on the staff they are all just fantastic, having had dined at a Michelin star restaurant the night before. .. I feel... they need at least 2 Michelin stars... the service, food quality and cleanliness was beyond. Tracy's attention to detail even noted my friends Likeing to two sugars in his coffee as we were traveling. .. she made 2 to-go coffees , superbly done. I couldn't be more inpressed by this.
Margaret Larkin
Absolutely fantastic place. Everything I had was delicious: steak, potatoes, rolls, fish soup, mojito, cherry cake. I totally overindulged and it was worth it. An equivalent place in Chicago would be more pretentious and perhaps have a stuffy atmosphere, but this place has high-end food without the attitude. Casual atmosphere, good music, dynamic, creative decor. Definitely go here.
Monica Cardenas
Cozy restaurant. Easy atmosphere for conversations and comfortable seating. Tasty and well seasoned plates with a nice variety. Enjoyed the mushroom toast and wedge salad to start. The homemade rolls are a must and well worth the calories. Every...single..one. Table mates ordered one special: the raclette burger with an alpine salad - cooked as ordered medium. The surprise dish was the rice side dish, a Persian basmati rice. Smoked roast beef portions were generous.

Saw this place on Wisconsin foodie and we had to try it. Parking here isn't the easiest. We walked in and it was mildly busy, we had to wait maybe five minutes. The restaurant was filled but not loud. We were seated on the west side if the dine area away from the bar. Our table was somewhat segregated from the rest of the restaurant by the, what I would call the bottle shop, part of the restaurant. This was a little awkward but we were ok with it. Our waitress was very friendly and laid back and offered to answer any questions if we did have any. We started with the bacon infused vodka bloody mary. It was ok, I thought it lacked flavor and the pickle in it was more of a soft cucumber than a pickle. That also lacked a normal pickle flavor or brininess. My wife order the crayfish roll with the marinated beets as her side and I ordered the Chicken fried duck livers with two duck eggs and a crispy hashbrown underneath. I also ordered a side of the Roasted cauliflower salad. My wife's beets were amazing. The combination of the slightly soft but still crispy beets and smooth creamy cheese with a hint of mint had my wife and I wanting more. The crayfish lacked salt but was still tasty. My duck livers were perfectly tender and went really well with the smooth yoke and crunch of the hashbrown. Add a little hot sauce and this is a winning dish. I was expecting the cauliflower salad to be hot but was chilled and was amazing. All in all this was a great experience and we will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

This place was excellent. Made a last minute over night stop in Milwaukee on a road trip. Local brewery suggested this place for morning Brunch and now I want to go back.
I went for the Shakshouka w/ avocado, Bloody Mary and cinnamon roll. All were spot on!
Dave Woods
Seated immediately. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere with a style leaning toward Nordic simplicity, and very clean. Food arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. Our party of four all enjoyed our dishes and spoke of returning to try another item. The blackened whitefish salad was a little heavy on the Gorgonzola for my taste (difficult to taste the blackened white fish), and the dried fruit was interesting but difficult to chew given the rest of the salad. That said, I still really enjoyed my meal and would visit again.
Vivian
Came here for brunch and it was fast service. The savory crepe was soooo good. Portion size are large!
Lisa Grzelak
We stopped here on our way back to Chicago from Kohler. Slight detour off our map but it came highly recommended so we tried it out. I started with the Bloody Mary that came with Miller Lite Shorty. It was so cute and I loved it. All bars should do this. The girls went with avocado toast which they loved but I tried the Burger on the Hill, adding the egg and bacon. It rocked! If you like a good burger with an egg, this is a must try. Not too far from Miller Park so take the detour and try it!
Travis Nienhaus
The food and drinks here are absolutely amazing, but it's the STAFF that get it a solid 5 stars! 3 different servers helped make sure we had everything we needed from the start, but NOT in an overly pushy way. Offered us suggestions when asked and even had a chef recommendation. We were there for Saturday brunch. The Caramelized Onion Bread Pudding with Duck Confit was AMAZING...with a perfect creamed mushroom sauce. The House Burger with egg and loin bacon was I incredible in its simplicity and cooked perfectly. The mimosa could've used a little more OJ but we didn't complain. Bloody Mary with Spicy Vegetable Vodka was on point.
Somewhat pricey but well worth it. Wines and spirits available by the bottle as well in the attached wine house. EAT AND DRINK HERE!!!...you will NOT be disappointed 🤤😍
Brennan Balestrieri
One of my favorite restaurants and coffee bars. You can get in line for a reservation online as you travel there for brunch (expect a wait!). Good espresso and coffee, really excellent food and exciting menu. Great execution on menu variety and interior. Kind, polite, and energized staff.
💯👀😍
Jennifer Chory
Food was amazing, perfectly portioned to share. Beverages were great, best old fashioned I've ever had. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive and super helpful with pairing the right wine to the plate. I look forward to back.
Gina Pernacciaro
3.5 Stars. Nice environment and friendly staff. Cool concept of family-style sharing meals, plus they use locally harvested/raised produce. Half of the items we ordered were delicious and the other half weren't very good. Would recommend making a reservation as even on weekdays it can be busy.
Steve Long
Absolutely delicious; high quality, great service. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but give it a try and you will be glad you did! I can recommend all three dishes I have tried, the toasted parmesan, brussel sprouts, and the squash salad.
Divya Ravindran
We absolutely loved everything we had. Would definitely come back again
Robby Uehara
The food was delicious. The drinks were refreshing. I am sure to make sure I come back here again for brunch for dinner. Server was so kind. I think there was a confusion on order, but not a big deal. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was quaint and cozy. Great spot and hangout to talk story.
2nd time around I got the Lamda Benedict, which was very flavorful. The poached egg was delicious and the lamb tender. Salad cut through to be refreshing and a side of roasted potatoes was fresh off the pan. The crepe stayed in tact despite all of the sauce and weight of the rest of the food.
Dave Bishop
Just delicious, everything was amazing. 4 of us shared 3 appetizers and 3 entrees which were all out of this world. Plus 2 deserts and a bevy of tap beers.
The beer selection was very good. All poured to the rim and perfect temperature. Many local beers and some pretty rare which was a great addition to the selection.
Appetizers were large enough to share and had so many flavors. Flatbread, shaved brussel sprouts (so good) and hand pie.
Entree sized things were plate licking good. Chanterelle Pasta, Leek Baked Walleye and Duck and Apple Salad competed for 1st place. All won in my opinion. Wish I could of tried all the menu!!
Our server Andrew was fun and attentive with good suggestions and stories to entertain.
Highly recommended for a great night out with some great tastes. 4 people ate and drank for around 50 buck each, not bad for this level of quality.
Check it out!

Stopped in this morning for brunch. I haven't been for about 3 years. I'm really sad to say it isn't what I remembered. The menu was consistent with the offerings, but the food wasn't prepared with the same attention to freshness and balance of flavors. The bloodys were still very good. The service was erratic and I don't recall a single employee smiling. The bathrooms were very unclean. I loved Story Hill and I hope it's not hitting a tired, lackluster dependency on the same formula without the passion behind it phase!
Tony Morien
Ever changing menu featuring delicious local ingredients and unique flavors. Great cocktails and regional beer selections. One of my absolute favorites.
Jeannette Tolinero
Comfortable place for breakfast and lunch... List of menus are so easy to understand and staffs are so helpful and so accommodating and the food is great...
Taylor Isaacson
Story Hill BKC is soo delicious! The food is creative, well-executed, and the portions are more than appropriate for a family-style meal. See the enormous Pork Schnitzel below. Haven't had a cocktail (they look tasty) but as they are located in a cute wine shop, their wine selection is wonderful. Get the mushroom hand pies!
Dan T (DanInTheFalls)
Besides the “crepe of the day” being 86’d, the rest of the food was great. The Crepe Monsieur was an excellent option.
Emily Anderson
Every time we come here the food and energy is always great. There is usually a little bit of a wait because we go at peak times but the wait is worth it-- I highly recommend their brunch
Gordon Reiher
Wow, I wish I lived 50 miles closer, so I'd only have to drive 50 miles to eat there every day.
Super, innovative menu, excellent drinks and a waitress I will never forget.
Bloody Mary's with Usingers sausage sticks, WIsconsin cheddar and bacon vodka. C'mon, it don't get better than that...
Real People
Wonderful awesome menu taste is consistent. BUT tables are to close feels tight.
Jason Smith
Nice brunch spot tucked away on bluemound. Very flavorful food and relaxed ambiance. Cinnamon roll was amazing!
SJ Bey
Went for brunch. They have some interesting items on the menu. Other than the liver I liked everything else.
Scott Miller
Always a good meal. I moved out of town but when I visit Milwaukee, Story Hill is a must visit. It's always great to see the same employees year after year. Front of the house is always fantastic!
Trevor Jon
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. Most items on the menu are smaller plates made for sharing so you can try lots of things.
Branwen Wosika
I had the berry crepes. They were SO good, I was craving them for days afterward. Can't wait to go back.
Karie Clement
The service and food were great! Can't wait to go back.

Story Hill BKC is fabulous place to dine at whether you're a mushroom fan or not. I came in on a Friday night with reservations and was seated right away. I split the bread and butter which was good and I ordered the mushroom soup which was really really good. It didn't taste overly creamy of heavy as most mushroom soups do. The cauliflower taste was strong and more powerful than the taste of the mushroom. If it were up to me, I would honestly rename that soup to cauliflower soup with mushrooms. I ended up getting the duck as my main dish, it came with greens and a green sauce which was all really good. The Duck was cooked well but the sauce lacked a bit of flavor in my opinion but it was still good.
All in all, this is a great restaurant. I highly recommend checking it out!

It’s Birthday week in our family. My daughter, husband and I all have birthdays so I googled farm to table restaurant and this came highly recommended. It has been a long time since I can say a restaurant is 5 stars and this restaurant delivered. They observe covid protocols so we felt at ease eating there. The staff was attentive and made the experience excellent. The food was well seasoned and very flavorful and prepared the way food should be prepared. We will definitely come back.
Kak Mke
High end wine and beer place. Delicious cheese plate and Creme brulee . Happy hour cost about $60. 3 drinks, 2 appetizers and one dessert.
Here are some pictures of fun shirts that they sell.
Keith Woeltje
Outstanding dinner. Smaller plates to share (although you could have one for yourself). Excellent service. Good beer selection. They also have a bottle shop with a lot of beers available but I didn't get the chance to check it out. Service was fantastic. We'll be back.
Vance Mindermann
This place is absolutely amazing! My wife and I came here with some friends and had a great time. Our server was very nice and informative, she answered all of our questions without hesitation and gave us great recommendations. My wife and I split the mushroom raclette burger and the beef short rib gnocchi, we both were blown away with how amazing everything tasted! We will definitely be back!
Douglas Evansen
Great food. Very attentive waitstaff. Had a great time for a special date.
Bill P
Quaint gastropub. They are well known for their large selection of wines and a kitchen menu that changes on the daily. Upon your arrival you are greeted like family as their talented staff tends to your every need. Located on Bluemound just north of Story Hill, it's definitely worth your time if you're ever in the area.
Colleen Williams
Love this place! Amazing lunch menu options, awesome atmosphere and super friendly staff. Great spot near miller park. I can’t wait to check it out for happy hour/dinner.
Ashley M
Amazing brunch, drinks, and service. Best toast and jam I've ever had.

A hidden gem serving up amazing food, drinks, and service. The only thing I would change… relocate it to where I live.

Never had Shakshouka but seen it made on TV. MOST delicious! Would highly recommend. My 3 companions also loved their choices. Good service too.
Yamini Karandikar
Delicious crepes with unique combinations and flavors. The staff was very engaging and friendly. Upbeat, eclectic atmosphere. They also have a variety of wines and beers for sale.

One of the best dining experiences in Milwaukee!! Fabulous service, beautiful atmosphere, and a solid menu of options. 10/10. Would recommend and return.
Samantha Lyn (SamanthaLyn)
Fantastic staff! Fantastic experince! Fantastic food! Would absolutely recommend everyone visit here! Cannot wait to go back! Definitely a gem!
Britt McMahon
I really want to like this place. Love the space, the bourbon and wine selection, and the service, but the food was underwhelming. With so many tastier options at a fraction of the price in the area, I can’t see myself coming back. Also, I don’t mind paying an up charge for bourbon picks at a restaurant. I expect it. However, the up charge on bourbon picks here is reliably above secondary pricing. What gives? The price tag on their Buffalo Trace pick is crazy. If you want a better meal at half the price, head to Nessun Dorma
Robert Krieghoff
Grabbed a couple drinks and the au gratin potatoes and pork schnitzel… Incredible. Highly recommend!!!
Ryan Hooten
Always delicious! Great service!
Andy Ackmann
This is our go-to place when we want an excellent high quality meal. They have never disappointed!!

My husband and I have been here several times for happy hour but never for dinner. To start, their drinks are amazing! They do creative twists on classics like a jalapeno paloma or blackberry bellini. Some of their cocktails are on tap and they offer a sampler where you can have small pours of three of their options. The beer and wine list are extensive. They also offer mocktails and espresso drinks.
For dinner, we stopped on a Tuesday around 6:00. There was little available for parking. Their lot is tiny and the street was completely full. We didn't call ahead but were able to get a table in the bar. They take online reservations, which I highly recommend. We were seated in front of their mini-kitchen which was fun to watch. I ordered a cappuccino with honey and it was excellent. We started with the Milwaukee Beef Tartar which had a beautiful presentation but I was too eager to take our first bite before taking a picture. My husband ordered the schnitzel which was enormous. He said the pork was cooked perfectly and the German potato salad was a delicious substitute for the usual schnitzel. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe which also had a nice twist of exotic mushrooms, tomatoes, and almonds. To finish off we enjoyed the creme brulee. Despite being so full from dinner, we were able to finish the entire thing.
I look forward to trying new items on their rotating menu!
Sydney McDaniel
It was great. The food was good. Delightful flavors. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had the smoked Georgia peach crepes. The flavor of the peaches was really good. They had a fresh peach flavor with a hint of spices. There was a generous amount of thinly cut ham which was better than thick cut as it was folded in the crepe. The crepes were light and soft. Even though we had carry out the place smelled really good and the staff was very friendly. They gave a free drink for our long wait. They did forget one meal from our order but when we called about it they apologized and took it off our bill with no inconvenience
Bill Fillipp
Great food and great servi e. Nice hometown crowd. Mimosas are delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed their breakfasts!
Tim Snyder
Definitely added another year to my marriage, maybe more. Few restaurants serve better food than what my Wife makes. This would be one. Great farm to table experience, will go back in a heart beat.
Josh Averbeck
Story Hill BKC is a must try restaurant in Milwaukee. The brunch is awesome and the dinner is just as good too. We really loved the Story Hill Steak (Milwaukee style) and the short rib gnocchi. What a wonderful restaurant!
L Verdin
The food here is always delicious. Try the crepe-urrito. And the beer and wine selection is great. A bit pricey compared to some other places, but reasonable.
Demmy Adeboyejo (Demmy A)
Absolutely love the service here.
The servers pay so much attention to detail and attend to every need asap.
Highly recommend the Waffles and Wings. Its soooo good it had my heart racing 😂😂 …

American Family Style with a twist ... A big, fat, twist ... With a flip!
Staff - Amazing
Food - Amazing
Atmosphere - Inviting and Cozy.
Thank you BKC for an amazing experience!

This restaurant is a rare gem. The staff is exceptional-personal, genuinely kind, and courteous. The food is always delicious, fresh, and perfectly balanced. It’s the only restaurant we’ve visited during the pandemic and we felt more than safe. Everything is extremely clean and spacious. I’m so happy this wonderful establishment continues to make it through. If there is any restaurant to ever visit in Milwaukee, it’s this one. Trust me.
Jane Mendelblatt
Loved my meal and the service was great.. Only problem is the noise level.
Megan Swisher
Everything from start to finish was incredible! The attention to detail and the care for their customers was top notch. Molly was our server and even assisted us in some debates about what to get from the menu. Everything was fast and fresh and literally made before our eyes. When we got the bill we were also super impressed by the prices. Afterwords we made a trip over to the store where Molly also pointed us in the direction of some local whisky as a souvenir. What a great experience! We will be back to Milwaukee I am sure and this will be a must stop while we are there!

We've been here several times over the years and every time the food was fantastic. There's also a surprisingly good alcohol selection in their little attached shop.
Jason Mattison
This was my first time having brunch there. Went with a friend I hadn't seen since before Covid started. Had the crepes. Didn't disappoint. I've gone multiple times for dinner and the brunch was just as good. Especially post Covid always appreciate a restaurant where the staff actually pays attention to you.
Ashley S
I've been wanting to get here for MONTHS.
Great. Brunch. The menu is more new American - lots of unique crepe options. I tried the crepe-urrito - essentially a breakfast burrito but made with a crepe service with a yummy side of potatoes.
The decor feels like an upscale neighborhood spot - not truly upscale. But nothing like a diner, either. Lots of wood and cute decor. Great music. Hipster-ish vibe.
Evan Petrie
Wonderful combinations of flavors and the staff were very attentive and nice. Will definitely be going back.
Sara Timmis
An absolutely amazing dining experience! Great outside seating, great service and an intriguing, fresh menu using local seasonal ingredients. Started w/refreshing Sunshine Sangria and had the flaky butter rolls, roasted cauliflower salad, pork chop schnitzel and finished with cherry upside down cake. All plates are meant to share, and portions are generous in all 3 size offerings! Highly recommend!
Charles Paul
Great hospitality... Smart choices for wine, beer and spirits... I think there's something here for every taste. Sampling small plates and dining on main dishes always works out well for us at Story Hill BKC... "The menu is a little small, but sufficient in the variety," is roughly what we hear from friends and family that have joined us at the restaurant. I also appreciate how their menu changes from time to time. I'm so glad they survived the worst of COVID-19. We've been there on busy and less busy days, and the quality doesn't seem to change much.
Danielle D
Awesome place with really nice people and home made food!!!!! Yummy. Will be back!!!
Alexander Reese
Charming space with faux rustic elements and maybe one-too-many types of ship lap. Pretty good food with brunch portions (small) and brunch prices ($$). Disappointed by the markups in the bottle shop and the associated $12 corking fee…isn’t one point of an in-house bottle shop to encourage consumption through the elimination of restaurant markups??
Ben Carney
Story Hill BKC never ever disappoints. The food is always amazing, with incredible, surprising combinations of flavors, everything in way of baked goods will be buttery and flakey and the server, no matter who they are, will instantly be your new best friend.
Always order the sausage rolls.
Chris D
BKC has really amazing and creative food at a reasonable price. We attended Brunch today for the first time at BKC. Normally, we go there for lunch or dinner. I ordered Avocado toast and Shakshouka. Both were very good and creatively composed. My daughter has the smoked whitefish which was amazing. Highly recommend!
Christine M.
The food is delicious and unique with exceptionally well presented dishes. All fresh with great choices for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free eaters. Plus some really excellent meat dishes. I have to rave over the"Oldest Fashioned" drink they served me. Our server was attentive and helpful. It does get a bit noisy for conversation at times. I hope to be back often.
Nathan Owley
Amazing food, one of the best spots in the city.
Anthony Meyer
Food was great portions plenty and looks like they have wide selection of wine although I don't drink
Ana Cristina Ortiz Rizzo
It's beautiful environment, delicious food and people are very kind.
Anna Goldstein
I love this place! They have free wine tastings on Fridays and Saturdays which is awesome, but this place is also amazing for brunch and dinner, although sometimes its hard to get a seat because its so busy! It's a very comfortable atmosphere, the servers are very attentive and fast even when its busy, and I love their bloody Mary's. They have a wide variety of food to choose from on the menu for all tastes/dietary restrictions. I love looking around their small shop for things to bring home to try.
Savannah Salm
This restaurant has great ambience. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. I highly recommend the escargot - it was delicious.
Erica Mierop
Went with a group of eleven people, sat in the private room in the back and got great service. We ordered a bunch of things and passed them around so we got to taste six or seven dishes. It was all fantastic. I ordered The Oldest Fashioned cocktail on tap, it was pretty sweet for an OF but pretty strong so I can't complain. :)
Tom Hyde
Great experience. Super staff. Would highly recommend.
Gus Schroeder
Very good and trendy. Fast service with no issues.
Chase Hulderman
Story Hill BKC is truly one of Milwaukee's best dining spots. Tough to get a table without planning ahead, but the food was delicious and the cocktails were phenomenal.
Janice Lynch
I ordered the berries, bananas and creme crepe. What a perfect sweet brunch! Not overly sweet, berries were fresh and a great addition. Kept me stuffed. The granola added texture and crunchiness. Ordered a side of potatoes too which were perfectly flavored! Our waitress, was very helpful. Gave us a rundown of the menu for being a first timer. Attentive to needs. Very friendly. This place is poppin' for lunchtime. Luckily, we arranged to have brunch as soon as they opened. Nice that they do reservations. Parking is on the street and some available behind the restaurant. Outdoor seating is also available. I would say that this appears to look like an afterthought to the place.
Jared Kusch
The menu is absolutely delicious...flavors and textures are expertly combined to make for a culinary treat. Even with covid measures in place, the restaurant is cozy and inviting. The waitstaff were the perfect compliment to a wonderful dinner. You need to try this place!
Lindsey
Story Hill is one of my favorite brunch spots. Do yourself a favor and start out with the Rishi Jasmine tea or a house infused Bloody Mary. Order the cinnamon roll for a brunch app. This isn’t a cinnamon roll from a weird looking can that pops. This is legit oooey gooey goodness. Next, order the avocado toast. The avocado toast isn’t your average hipster avocado toast. It includes a lentil spread. Let’s call it an “elevated hipster avocado toast.” If you’re a meat eater, order a side of bacon. Finally, get a lavender iced tea to go. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program so you can collect points.
Donnie Bogle-Boesiger
This place is phenomenal. The small plates mean that you get to try a good portion of their ever changing menu. Tonight was my second time eating here. Both times the food is interesting, beautiful, and delicious!! Oftentimes I don't know exactly what I'm ordering but it ends up being better than I was expecting! I find myself intentionally chewing slower because I want the experience to last longer. I love it!!
Tyler Janes
First time here, great experience! Very busy on a Sunday for brunch, but we were very well taken care of. Good menu options with some really unique selections. Love the spot in the city they reside in, very unique! Can't wait to go back sometime!
Nicole M
Had a small wedding and asked if we could have a mini reception in their private dining room. Food and service was phenomenal. Space was cute. They were also really nice to work with. Would recommend!
MK C
We went for brunch, not a super long wait which was great... But overall I would say our experience was underwhelming. Our server Tracey was super kind and our food came out fast, so service wasn't an issue at all! The food was lacking, we got the chicken benedict, a cinnamon roll, sausage roll, and the toast with cheese and jam. The benedict lacked flavor, definitely needed hot sauce (thanks for the suggestion Tracey!) And salt. For some reason the toast tasted off to both of us, so we actually sent that back and Tracey was kind enough not to charge us. Maybe that was a personal opinion but def wouldn't get that again or recommend it. Sausage roll was yummy, cinnamon roll was good as well. Our drinks were good, I got a bloody mary which was nothing special but not bad. My partner got a hot brandy apple drink which was strong so obviously we enjoyed that. Lastly, the atmosphere was lacking. I had understood that this was a great place to go for food and ambiance and I was let down on both. Overall: nothing was awful but nothing was incredible, I would not recommend this to friends or family nor will I go out of my way to come back. There are definitely better brunch places in Milwaukee that will WOW you.
Rich Visotcky
Been here a few times for brunch and always was happy. My son loves, LOVES, the crepes! They're really delicious. Came for lunch, sat at the bar for the first time and had a great time. Had a tasty chicken soup, even tastier jalapeno mac and cheese. Great beer selection too. Will come back for sure. Love the Black Shoe Hospitality trio.
Emily Kutschenreuter
Awesome food, at this French Cafe. The atmosphere, & energy levels contains this bizarre combination of; comfort, familiarity, yet this place is unique and one of a kind! At the end of the day, I experienced an awesome night, and went somewhere with, great food, great customer service, great pricing, great atmosphere, and I will be back soon!
Dave Robinson
First time here. Arrived at about 5:30 on a Wednesday. Prompt friendly service. Impressive ambiance with the walls lined with wine and liquor. Wonderful unique menu. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The pork risotto and burger were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. Can't wait to get back there!
Ann Kallio
The steak sandwich is the best I've ever had. My friend had the crepe which was also delicious. Cold beer, good old fashions, great service....what could be better?
Jennifer Woods
The drinks and food were amazing. The customer service was also outstanding! The servers are attentive, helpful, and honest about the food and drinks. They also make amazing drink selections once you tell them what you like!
Michelle Swalheim
Great atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff that provides great service. If you like small and shareable plates this is your place. I have never had a dish I have not enjoyed.
Jennifer DeSandre
I've been to many restaurants with the sharable plates idea behind them but Story Hill BKC has the best execution of this idea. There menu is accurate with the small/medium/large size plates and are generous at that. All the food was delicious and server was very helpful and kind. I had a great time and the atmosphere is very relaxed and warm.
Looking forward to returning!
Eric Paulsen
The menu variety was terrific for brunch, and everyone was very pleased with what they had (we were a table of 7). I liked my Crepe Monseur but the Shakshouka, the Brunch Burger, and several options are calling my name for future visits. Our server radiated enthusiasm and knew the menu inside and out. Bloodies with the 7-oz Lite chasers were great, too! Definitely going back soon.
Jackie Leon
We ate on their patio. It was a great experience. Easy to call and make a reservation ahead of time. Service was attentive. Food was delicious. I've always loved BKC and am happy I can continue to enjoy them during these strange times.
Maureen Dahl
Story Hill BKC offers a unique and eclectic menu that is surely worth a visit (or ten) to try both familiar and unusual fare cooked to perfection!
Mary Moore-Geissler
Great wine and beer selections. Small plate options are always unique and delicious. Menu changes often so it always offers a new dining experience. The staff at Story Hill are top notch and strive to make sure that your visit is enjoyable in every way!
Mike Nusky
We arrived 15 minutes before they opened on a Sunday morning. Judging from the line on the sidewalk to get in I had high expectations of a fine meal. Everybody filed in and were seated with no delay. Our waitress was charming and attentive. She gave us exemplary service. The food was fresh, unique, and very tasty. I am looking forward to visiting again and would highly recommend.
Nicole Marie
Staff is nice, food was good, but everything on the brunch menu was very egg heavy, so I had to order all sides (ham, potatoes & toast).
Samuel Crisanti
I really like the atmosphere of this place. It has a great vibe. Service is amazing and food is good too! I thought the hand lies we're cooked perfectly and the oxtail gyozo was very tasty. Not a place to go if you're really hungry, and the vegan options are limited. But they do have an extensive wine list.
Joshua Hanson
Very authentic and unique dining experience! Some non traditional menu items as well as a wide variety of wine and other beverage options! Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and the food is very good! Everything tastes homemade. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the price to portion ratio. Otherwise, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience!!
Andrew Behm
The space is cute and trendy. The server went above my expectations with her attentiveness and helpfulness. Food was great. I enjoyed the vegetable biryani, but it doesn't seem to fit the rest of the menu. A little pricey.
Beth Follenweider
Stopped in for a late lunch which fell into the happy hour time frame. Very limited food menu but everything sounded very good. I went with the duck salad and was very happy with it. Taste and presentation were perfect. Service was quite good and I was able to snag a $5.00 glass of rose as part of Happy Hour. I'd like to go again when I can taste a few more glasses of wine!
Amanda Brezgel
Wow! The service and food were incredible. We had a house made cinnamon roll to start which was delicious. I had the berries crepe. The crepe was light and moist. Berries were fresh. My husband had the house crepe. It was very unique but delicious. Our coffee drinks were wonderful. I'm definitely coming back!
Marta Conlon
Second time dining here. Food is delicious but not fussy. Great cocktails and a thoughtful wine list. I highly recommend reservations to make it easier. Parking is tricky during Brewers home games.
Amy Mc
Went for Easter Brunch. Not a long wait, always a pleasant atmosphere. I got the Buffalo Benny, which I'm pretty sure was a special egg benedict for the day – but it was AMAZING! If they had that on their menu all the time that would probably be my go-to dish. Love their roasted marble potatoes – a must have every visit. Also the Frittata is a favorite for our family. Kids meal options are available too. All the staff is so friendly and easy-going. They seem to really enjoy their jobs. It is a good place to take the whole family or go for a date. Love their little liquor store on the side too. Makes it easy to pick up your favorite beverages to take home before leaving.
I wish there was more space between the tables, but at the same time it’s almost a nice change of pace to be close to strangers and sometimes randomly forced to interact and bring us out of our shells. You don’t have to talk to the people next to you, but everyone is so friendly that you often get pulled into a small quick conversation that brings a smile to everyone face.
LaBreeska Lies
Service was Phenomenal !! She made it a Perfect Date Nite! Only reason for 4 instead of 5 Stars is because my husband didn't like the Chicken ( luckily I did!! ) and the Cole slaw had a jalapeño taste I don't like. Other than those little things I would recommend to anyone. I was curious as to how they would handle the Social Distancing and Masks issue.. But this place Nailed It. Dividers between each table and everyone I saw was wearing Masks. Open Kitchen for peace of mind there. This place Rocks!
Alexis Prosen
Wow! The service is outstanding here! We have been here a couple of times and have been very impressed with the food and the service. My daughter dropped her fork on the floor and before I could even bend down to pick it up, a server brought a new one over to us. Another time, it was super busy and the server gave us the bakery item I ordered for free for having to wait for our food. We didn’t even feel like we waited that long, but it was so nice to have the staff initiate that offer. The food is so good and again the service is outstanding!
Pugs (Daniel Seung) Pugliese
The food is unique and simply exquisite. I have never once been disappointed with any item ordered!
The staff is where Sorry Hill BKC shines. They operate perfectly as a team with a warm, friendly, yet professional efficiency. Empty plates, glasses are cleared immediately by whichever server is passing by, whether that server's table or not. Food is brought expeditiously and solicitously to your table by the first available server.
Perfect for brunch, lunch, or supper!
Michael
Great atmosphere. One of my favorite places in Milwaukee. Will want reservations on the weekend but well worth any wait. Was able to sit at the bar near the kitchen and wanted to try everything we saw. Staff are friendly and attentive. Also highly recommend the oldest fashioned.
Brooke Pinar
Never have I been disappointed here. Sensational small and large plates, service is always on point, and happy hour is great. They are more then happy to accommodate both vegetarians and vegans. Cauliflower and brussel sprouts small plates make me want to cry tears of joy.
Michael Mooney
Had a fantastic evening in Story Hill neighborhood of cream city. Took my mother out for Valentine's day and wanted something special. We were greeted by smiling staff and seated promptly with our reservation. The waiter Andrew took great pride in explaining the menu and we were thrilled to hear the story behind the meal. We started with an heirloom mushroom pie that was outstanding. We ventured into beef tar tar and wild caught walleye with braised leeks in a demi glaze creme sauce. Man it was outstanding. My mother was raving about how the tar tar was so spot on it reminded her of when she ate beef tar tar in the 70s in Philadelphia in her younger years. Lots of smiles and good laughs. The ambiance was exceptional. I highly recommend this establishment in Milwaukee from a fellow foodie you can't miss at Story Hill BKC, Bottle Kitchen Cup.
Shuwei Wang
I love the crepes here. Cute atmosphere and the crepes are so satisfying! It’s one of the best brunch spots in town.
Benjamin Secora
The food leaves your jaw dropped with every bite. Incredible incredible incredible.
Kevin Pelkey
Had a wonderful meal here. Delicious and unique cheeseburger with marble potatoes. Scrumptious molasses cookie and great service.
Christina Dinur
The food is consistently good here and service also excellent. Docking two stars because these prices are out of control. $23 for the chicken gets you a few pieces of chicken by themselves ...no sides. $15 gets you a medium sized plate of Brussels sprouts. Basically the menu consists of “small plates” at entree prices. My husband and I spent $70 on food alone at dinner and left hungry.
Mary Farnham
The staff was so accommodating and wonderful which paired great with the food selection. It was our first time dining at Story Hill BKC & our waitress recommended plenty of her favorite plates and helped us pick out the right amount. Highly highly recommend!
John Shaw
Had brunch here, and can't wait to go back and see how dinner is. I had a dish with back bacon and green chili sauce with some rustic bread that was absolutely fantastic. I went with 5 friends, everyone had something different, and everyone agreed: all the food was the bomb. Prices (at least at brunch) are very reasonable, as well. As an added bonus, they also have a well-curated selection of craft beer, liquor, and wine for sale.
Peggy
We had brunch here on Saturday. It was just delicious! We both had one of the crepe entrees. Our server, Elizabeth, was very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back. Oh, and don't miss the cinnamon roll!!
Dan Kowalsky
Excellent creative menu - had a potato/egg skillet with local veggies and meat, and a mimosa. Have had a bloody mary in the past which was also very good. A bit high on price, but portion sizes are sufficient. Great spot for a brunch date. Will definitely be back.
Dawn Greenstein
Wonderful nook on the corner of 51st street. A real gem in the "Tosa" neighborhood. One side of the restaurant has seating with a vast collection of wines for sale as well as craft beer. The other side is more of a cafe with a small bar and high top seating along the windows. The appetizers were fantastic, and some big enough to share. Our crepes with poached eggs were delightful. The whole dining experience was fresh and flavorful. Attentive service as well. Look forward to returning.
Eileen Ludwig
The food was fantastic, waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, service was a bit slow but given they were completely full understandable
Ashley Smith
Food and service are always phenomenal. I appreciate that you can use the Yelp (prev. No wait) to get in line and shave off some wait times.
Highly reccomend the flaky rolls. Meatballs. Potatoes with spicy mayo. Ribs with cabbage and whipped potatoes. I would also recommend snagging a tap cocktail.
The flatbreads are good but nothing particularly special.
Definitely worth checking out and returning to over and over again.
Jessa Dukelow
Always an excellent experience, and they double downed on a busy Friday lunch. Service, food, and beverage are all amazing! We love you!
Lauren Doss
Absolutely loved it! They had a really tasty looking cocktail list but as a pregnant lady, I appreciated the yummy mocktails. Everything we ate was delicious and make sure you save room for dessert!
Matt
Nice, cozy space. Our server Tess was very attentive and helpful for our brunch group. The monsieur crepe was fantastic as well as the cinnamon roll we shared. They have house made hot sauce and tasty infused vodka's for bloody's. We look forward to returning.
Lucy Listinsky
The menu selection is so diverse. And delicious! The service is fantastic. Can't wait to visit again. I highly recommend a visit to Story Hill!
Michael Casey
Great service and everyone in my 8 person party was extremely happy with their meals. I had the beef short ribs and I can honestly say that I've never had better. The Creme Brulee was awesome!
TJ Sopoci
Let me start by saying that this is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in the Milwaukee area. I've gone here on my own and attended two private beer pairing dinners through my job as well, and both sets of experiences were incredible. The food, no matter what you order, is always perfect. Playing is gorgeous, menu items are both elevated and accessible, and you can tell that Story Hill BKC uses the absolute best ingredients in every thing that make. That doesn't even begin to describe to drink selection. Nice wine list, great beers and fantastic craft cocktails seal the deal on what will be one of your best dining experiences ever. Do yourself a favor and get here ASAP!!!
C. Ernest
What a great way to spend an evening with friends in the casual but refined dining of Story Hill BKC! Love the idea of a sort of three tiered tapas/sharing menu of midwestern cuisine. I absolutely loved the wait staff. Sam was attentive and funny and knew when to be around and when needed time to enjoy our food. Some of my favorites were the shaved brussel sprouts, the gratin potatoes, mushroom French bread, and risotto, and of course my personal fave.... foie gras. I did not enjoy the Biryani as it was very overcooked for the rice and the yogurt sauce was over powering the rest of the flavors. The sticky toffee cake and cherry upside down cake were amazing! A little pricey, but very much worth the trip!
Justin Kornely
Story Hill BKC is always a treat. You order plate by plate off the menu that you keep during the meal. There is three size options with an assortment of choices and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable on the items.
Pros;
Welcoming atmosphere
Delicious food
large drink selection
Cons;
Bill will catch up to you.
Portions vary
Advice;
Keep track of what you order. The bill will bite ya later if you don’t.
This experience;
We got the meat loaf this time around. Not to the standard of the other items I usually get here. Had a “meat paste” kind of texture and was a flat flavor the entire way through.
As an appetizer we got the mushroom sausage flatbread pizza. Each bite was a different flavor! The wild mushrooms were flavorful and salty/sweet. The sausage had a perfect spice that didn’t bleed flavor into the rest of the pizza. The bites with no toppings were still packed with flavor still.
Dean Sarnowski
Went with a friend for dinner last night. I've been there before, but was her first time. The wait attendant was great. We took extra time to order as we hadn't seem each other in a while and didn't mind at all. She was really helpful too with my friend n picking out food, as she is allergic to wine.
Food was great! The oldest fashions were good too.
Definitely will go back again soon!
Jonathan Greene
Fun dishes and a solid beer/drink list. Small but eclectic bottle shop in the back. No real vegan options - at least on the brunch menu - but some tasty vegetarian fair. They really shine with the meat dishes.
Qwinten Spooner
Had the Crawfish roll with a side of marinated beets. Was the best thing I've ever tasted.
Evan Knapp
Amazing crepes especially the crepe monsieur. The omelettes are great too especially if you can get their wild mushroom omelette with morels. Pro tip, they don't take reservations so plan accordingly. Get there early or use the app to sign in. They do serve coffee while you wait which is nice.
Rakesh Shah
The food here is absolutely amazing and the service is terrific. The quality is consistent every time we eat here and have always left happy and satisfied. The drinks are on point as well. Definitely a restaurant that I would recommend!
Keridak Silk
We had fun tasting and sharing. There were too many wonderful choices.
Suzanne Kalra
This was my second time here and just as good! I had the frittata which the chef was able to customize with no bacon. I could tell it was made fresh, and the eggs, tomatoes, and potatoes were perfectly cooked! My husband had the potato farmer. The potatoes were so flavorful, cooked in caramelized onions and pepper.
Connie Spencer
First time at Story Hill and all 6 of us truly enjoyed the menu food and drink selections. The service was great and they are doing well in keeping the covid19 safe environment. Will definitely go back.
Murali Vedula
Great service! Great food! Great people! Lots of good memories here. If you have a special event, ask for the back room. Accommodates about eight to ten.
Rosemary Lucas
The best brunch we have had in a long time. Steak sandwich that melts in your mouth and yummy crepes sweet and savory. Excellent coffee as well. And great drinks and wine selection. They have it all!
Michael D
Great service and food here. Stopped in for lunch and ate at the bar. The Bar Keep directed me to a few great choices on the menu, the highlight being the Duck, Pear, Goat Cheese, and Maple Glazed Pecan Salad. Weekday hours make this place an appealing place to stop.
Ian Carroll
Went here for my bachelor party dinner (it was a lowkey one) and loved the food. The server was very friendly, helpful and attentive. They have a full bar and skilled bartenders. The food is served small plate (tapas) style so just bear that in mind but the food was all delicious. It seemed like a good date spot
Kalie K (Kalie)
Delicious food. Great atmosphere.
Eva Endlich
Great food, service and ambience. We love it there
Kali Behlmer
Too pricey to be a regular brunch choice for us. Food was great quality and delicious; lots of interesting choices. Nice atmosphere and good service, seemed to be enjoyed by lots of families and people of all ages
April Vaughn
Definitely worth the wait for Sunday brunch. W almost left because the kids were restless. So glad we stayed to have an amazing meal. Will definitely be back again. Our server was super attentive and awesome with the kids.
Krista Drager
This is my favorite restaurant in all of Milwaukee.
Why you ask?
Two words: Chicken meatball.
Don't believe me? Fine, you're the one missing out and that just means more for me! These things are heaven with their truffle honey sauce and perfectly portioned little sprigs of arugula sprigs. If I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life it would very likely be these meatballs.
Really though, all the food is amazing. I have yet to order anything that I haven't been pleased with. Even the dishes that are outside my food-comfort zone, like the mushroom french toast. Don't be afraid to try new things here!
My one disappointment would be the pre-mixed house cocktails on tap. I'm not the biggest fan of tapped cocktails, especially when paying prices I would expect something freshly made ($7-13). They aren't bad, but you can definitely tell they aren't the freshest.
However, they are happy to make you fresh cocktails if you ask. So the disappointment is really only slight.
Annette Frankenburger
Nice little restaurant. Probably better if you're a drinker. Quite a selection of drinks. Not so much for food. Still good. Wish I could have tried all of the deserts!
Timothy Hansen
Argyle wine dinner. First time there. Fun, energetic vibe. Food was very good, though not from the menu. Tasty modern and well executed. Wines were what they were. Solid domestic chard and pinot. The sparklers stood out. Quite nice. Friendly service. I will go again.
Mary Kolar
Tip quality food and service. Get there early for lunch if you can because it fills up quickly.
Kyle Willkomm
Fish was great and well cooked. Unfortunately i cant say the same for the veggies that were part of the dish. The sauce was good but there wasnt enough of it.
Zachary Solie
Top notch small plates. The server we had, Matt, was the most professional and funny waiter we've ever had. Food was priced well and absolutely incredible. Story Hill, don't change a thing, you're perfect.
Jeffrey Reifsnyder
Great food, awesome drink selection. We plan on going back. Didn't give a 5/5 because we had to wait for over an hour for our food and tables around us got theirs within ~20 minutes. First world problems, right? Staff was awesome, and the place has a fun vibe.
Michael Schroeder
Went on a Saturday around 10am. Food is really good. You can tell they care about where they source their ingredients. All the ingredients seemed fresh and high quality. It was pretty incredibly busy at this time. Hour plus wait for two. Didn't get anything from the bar but it seemed pretty good and it seemed like almost everyone ordered their Bloody Mary.
D M
I went to dinner with my husband for the first time here. The staff is friendly and very efficient. Although the naming convention in the menu is creative, it was a little tricky to understand. However, our waiter explained the menu without us even having to ask. It was a wonderful experience and atmosphere.
DJ Sitte
Their savory crepes are amazing! The menu has a French influence with a focus on fresh, local ingredients and I have yet to try something that I did not like. I regularly recommend this place to my friends. You will not be disappointed.
Rebecca Henning
Delicious food fantastic service in a beautiful setting
Donnita Mennealy
We came here before the Brewers game for dinner and chicken meatballs, chicken thighs, and baked provolone were outstanding! Our server, Ashley, was very kind and super helpful! This place is HIGHLY recommended!
l.j. hoke
Great cuisine and food done well. Would like more veggie friendliness.
Anish Shah
I had a fantastic experience at bkc. Brandon did a great job serving us as well as making fantastic drinks. Their tomato jam flat bread was amazing. I've had many other small plates at this amazing restaurant I would recommend it to anybody.
Richard Colvin
One of the best brunches in the Milwaukee area. All of your favorites with some farm to Table flair. If all you want are bacon, eggs and pancakes, keep on walking. But if you want some adventurous steps taken with some tried and true breakfast staples, this is the place to go. So much so that I recommend you showing up at least 20 minutes before they open. Tables fill up quick.
Meryl Fitzpatrick
Story Hill BKC. The menu is not large by any means, but I still had such a difficult time deciding what to get! There is plenty of seating, all of the staff are very nice. Since this was our first time, our server was very thorough in explaining the menu. We ordered the crep-urrito and the house special crepe to share. So glad we did this because it was so hard to decide what to get. It was my first time having a savory crepe, and the house crepe was great because there was a slight sweetness to it. The crep-urrito was also delicious. The marbled potatoes that come with it was nicely cooked. Not too greasy, not so over cooked.
darla helland
Unique foods and they offer a mid day menu. Had flatbread with spicy tomato jam and husband had the burger. Both were great. Also if looking for a non alcoholic drink I highly recommend the Mexican Mocha; definitely has a nice kick.
Dan
One of my favorite restaurants, and I eat out a lot at a lot of different places. The Crepe-urrito would be my death row breakfast. Impossible to redeem your gift cards at because their machine is somehow down when I go there and I somehow always want to go during their mid day break for bar only and on Mondays, but the food is pretty wonderful, so I deal with it!
MH Tea
Fantastic service and truly unique and tasty food. I wish this was closer so we could visit more often! The small plates are great for sharing, and the staff had great beer and wine recommendations.
Emily Worden
I had the hamburger and the marbeled potatoes. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough because it was so tasty!! Burger was perfect. Marbled tatoes were delectable. Also the beer and drink selection was varied but not overwhelming. 10/10 would recommend for a date or casual friendly get together.
Christianne Varela
Early Valentines date, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The roasted pork share plate was our favorite.
Joseph Loebl
Great restaurant with a changing menu and yet everything is done well. Crepe monsieur was absolutely fantastic. The ambiance and aesthetic of the restaurant work well at any time of day.
Steven Richichi
One of the best restaurants in the city. Amazing lunch/dinner menu of locally inspired dishes, great drink selection. Service is always prompt, but not intrusive. The menu seems to change so there is always something new to try, but the Shakshuka (sp?) is one of the best meals in Milwaukee. Cant wait to go back for Brunch.
Katrina Kuenzle
I have never had a bad experience here. The food is super delicious, service is great, and their menu changes enough to keep me coming back to try something new. Plus - they have a great wine selection. Fantastic!
Treva Henderson
I had the "Brunch burger". I'm visiting from Las Vegas Nevada and this is the freshes burger I've ever had!! Fresh beef, bacon, farm fresh egg!! Seasoned perfectly. Totally awesome!!
S
We had the absolute perfect dining experience, and the owner? was incredibly friendly too.
Julie Greene
My husband & I gave BKC a shot since the blue egg restaurant is usually packed & we didn't have much time to get lunch. It was delicious & the service was great. We had and would recommend the trout toast special, sausage & mushroom flatbread, & jalapeño Paloma. 👍🏻👍🏻 …
Ray Forgianni
This one great restaurant. Cheerful, informed staff, well thought out dishes that are delicious, fun decor by including a wine store, more of a boutique, as part of eating experience. One can eat & check out the wines at the same time. Parking is a challenge, both limited on street & a tight parking lot to the rear.
Ian Johnson
Best Brunch I've Ever Had!.... Beer you ask?... yeah, best beer I've ever had. Even their bathrooms, best bathrooms I've ever used. Wait staff? ..get outta dodge, nicest people I've ever met! If you complain about waiting on Saturday mornings to get a table, then you're a big stupid idiot.
marjorie pisca
Place is very welcoming. I got a lunch special a sandwich of boneless ribs on a bun with jicama coleslaw, a cost of $14, with a side. Some of the meat was dry and overcooked. It was tasty but for the cost it needs more meat on the sandwich. For some of the meat being dry they gave me a huge lemon cookie just out of the oven, which was delicious.
Will go back.
Matthew Laux (Matt)
Oh my goodness! I was blown away by this place. I love the food. I love the beer. I like the little bottle shop.
Went here with my girlfriend and we both ordered different types of crepes. I really wish I remembered the names of the crepes we tried, as it would make this review much more useful, but anyway...
I couldn't believe how delicious my crepe was. The cheese had such a rich satisfying flavor and all the other ingredients in my crepe combined for a unique flavorful adventure.
I tried some of my girlfriend's crepe and wow! It tasted completely different, but also very delicious. It had pickles in it! That's really one of the things I loved about this restaurant. Each menu item seemed to offer a very different and unique flavor from the other.
The bar was great, it had some delicious seasonal beers on tap I hadn't tried before. I ordered a watermelon IPA and a strawberry... Lager? I forget which type of beer the strawberry was. They sound weird, but I'm so glad I tried them.
After our meal we browsed the small bottle shop. It's a pretty cool idea, but unfortunately, this is where a star gets knocked off. It's not even a big deal, either. I wish I could only take a half star off. Some off the beer seemed a little old. I visited in May and they were still selling pumpkin beers. But who cares! This ain't a liquor store.
Go check this place out! The food is amazing. The beer selection is great.
raymond forgianni
Great restaurant & Liquor Store. Busy place for a reason. Outstanding, creative dishes. Come hungry. And a great liquor store with an impressive selection of wine & spirits. Parking is a challenge with a small parking lot to the rear but mostly on street parking.
Bob Lannin
Gabriel was a great server and Bar Tender.
Mike Spanjar
To start, they had Blanton's bourbon at the bar. Hello, Blanton's, my old friend. The restaurant was quite busy on our visit, but we never felt like we were waiting for food to come out. Offerings are eclectic and prepared deliciously. Many are served on platters, "family style," for sharing. Great service - our server had a big smile and was real friendly. Just be prepared to pay for this level of enjoyment. Story Hill BKC will set you back a good amount of coin.
Cory Draeger
We loved the whole experience. The food was delicious!!! Great selection of drinks. The staff and patrons were warm and went out of their way to make you feel so welcome and comfortable.
Cassandra Trible
BKC is our favorite breakfast spot! With a new twist on eggs benedict every week, I'm always so excited to get in and see what they've come up with. Great food, excellent service and a vibrant atmosphere. I love it!
Amber Unger
Today was our first visit. I thought my friend was exaggerating when she said you have to arrive early to get a table. She wasn't kidding... People were waiting in their cars before the restaurant opened! Everything was amazing!! The food, the drinks, the service. We will be back with more friends very soon!
Meg Daniel
Yum! We had a great late lunch here. Meals were quite good. We were impressed with the cocktail flight. Good selection of wine/beer. Attentive & friendly staff.
The only caution is that we came at 215pm on a weekend & had to wait for meals bc their kitchen was closed from 2-3pm to switch from lunch to dinner. It ended up being perfect timing to try out their drink list. That being said, some snacks that wouldnt require kitchen prep wouldve been good (maybe an olive & cheese tray?)
All in all, a very enjoyable stop with well-crafted meals & drinks with a solid staff.
Steve Benko
Nice little bistro type restaurant. Limited menu though.
Stephen DeLassus
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is so good (you HAVE to get the rolls), and the staff is extremely professional with endearing personalities. You're cheating yourself if you don't go here.
Jason Kolb
Amazing breakfast restaurant, it’s like a formal breakfast meal. Everything from toast to crepes were amazing.
Anna Remillard
I'm never disappointed at BKC! The staff is always great and the food is alw ays delicious! Brunch and cocktails are my favorite! Definitely worth a stop
Joshua James
We had the crepe-uritto and it was excellent. Had some mixed drinks with our brunch. Made for an excellent Saturday morning.
Anthony A
Charming brunch spot. Small and simple menu but there’s something for everyone. Food was great portions and very tasty. Highly recommend this place for the great service.
Stefani
A "sister" restaurant to Blue's Egg, this restaurant offers tapas in the evening as well as delicious brunch/lunch options. There will almost always be a wait for weekend brunch, but it is always well worth it. Great bloody marys and inventive dishes that err towards the healthier side make it one of my fave places. Service is always stellar, too.
gavin rice
One of our favorite restaurants in Milwaukee. We go here to treat ourselves to some great food, great service, and my fiancé’s favorite dessert in town: the cherry upside-down cake.
They also have a pretty great brunch!
Nicole Voigtman
The food was delicious! The beer and cocktails were unique and good! Service was good. The server explained the dishes and cocktails with much knowledge! She gave us excellent suggestions!!
Hadija
Delicious peppermint mocha. My salad was yummy but husband's sandwich had some major grizzle in the steak. The waitress was a tad confused. Overall good, not great.
Jesse Barnett
Be aware that they are adhering to a mask policy. Despite the rest of the nation trending away from this over-reaction, and no awareness of the negative health issues associated with wearing masks. It's hard to understand how people who can be passionate about their food can believe that while you're eating '"your safe" but when you walk to the bathroom you need a mask?
JoAnn Sommers
Love the share way of eating. Food and service was excellent. Unique drinks as well. Very well done! 😋 …
Rachel Henderson
Sam has been my waitress both times. Her menu knowledge and attention to customer service is fantastic! I strongly recommend the crepes and coffee. The decor creates an awesome atmosphere for dining and gathering with friends.
Andrew Groth
Amazing food, have been for weekday lunch and Sunday brunch. Great drink menu as well.
Paul Hoffman
Enjoyed another fantastic meal at Story Hill BKC. The roasted brussel sprout sandwich was delicious and unique in its flavors. I love everything about this place. The setting, service and creative entrees. If you love great food, you'll love BKC.
Patricia Adams
Could not believe the reasonable prices for super quality food made with such care, recipes with more ingredients than I would ever bother with at home. I have complex dietary restrictions and they followed them to a 'T'.
Ivy Koelliker
Great restaurant! Tried it on a business trip to Milwaukee. So many good, small plate options - both meat and veggie options. There is also a wine shop inside, and they have great wine, beer and cocktail options. Looks to be a very popular place!
Giovanni Mora
One of the reasons people look for an expensive place is to eat at it's own pace. Well not here. The place is so popular that you can see literally how people stare at you while they wait for a seat. The food is good but let's be honest. Is not that good nor the place is that great. Also if you're looking for healthy food stay away from this place.
Andi Cook
ReflectedSo hard to choose from such delicious brunch items. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was so sweet and great. Have to try their cinnamon roll, delicious! It was Cinco de Mayo so the menu selections were even more fun.
Whitney P
If you're looking for a good brunch with some unique options, this is your place.
Lue Yang
The happy hour drink specials and apps were fantastic and fairly priced. Really chill atmosphere.
Chris Cramer
Awesome experience. The service and draft beer selection was unparalleled. The food was amazing as well. Small plates, mostly Flatbread pizzas, to share. I will definitely be back. We were there on a weekday night. It was busy, but not full.
Sally Whitmore
Mushroom French Toast was my favorite! The other dishes we got were not too memorable and very salty.
We got the Baked Alaska for dessert which was a fun experience but the actual taste was nothing special.
Geoff Stirling
Terrific service in a nice, casual atmosphere. The menu is creative and everything is incredibly fresh. I highly recommend the sandwiches, but everything we've had there has been on point.
Kyle McHugh
Holy delicious. I was so impressed with this place. Some of the best brunch food in the Milwaukee area. You have to try it.
Dave Lischka
I've only been there for lunch, but they've had great food, atmosphere, and service every time. Staff is always happy to answer any questions and provide excellent recommendations. The perfect place to go if you're looking for something a little outside of the box and not break the bank.
Nodell Graves
Story Hill Bkc Is hands down the best place ever. They care so much about their guests, service is impeccable, food is amazing, just an overall great experience and place to be at! You can tell the cooks, servers, and management take great pride in their store and service. Check out Maxies and Blues Eggs too, same experience guaranteed.
Andy Plamann
Incredible Midwestern farm to table style comfort food served family style with an unbelievable beer wine and cocktail menu. They also have a bottle shop so you can take your favorite beverages to go. BKC is one of our favorite places in Tosa for date night or dinner out with friends. Make a reservation because they get busy and wait times can be long but it's definitely worth it.
Steve Wellenstein
Great breakfast, fast friendly service. Comfortable casual setting. Use Yelp to make a reservation, there is usually a wait.
If your waiting, head to the bar and get a bloody Mary. They are very good.
Jaime Lemens
Delicious as always. I am glad to see that they are doing okay despite the state of things. Plus, their new plexiglass dividers made the experience feel safer....and they were stylish! So I barely even noticed them...made me question if they were there before lockdown (were they!?).
Barbara Lamping
Great food. Friendly service. New and interesting dishes AND delicious. Fun cocktails.
Steph LaCasse
Excellent food and service! Our waitress, Elizabeth, was amazing. Funny and very sweet! Love this place! Will definitely be going back!
Kristin Thompson
Great atmosphere, awesome service, and some really great twists on some classic foods! Killer beer selection (and the place is also a liqour store, so you get great deals on cocktails, and you can take some home). Get the upside down cherry cake for dessert.
ryan burwell
Great food. It's small plates to share so can't be shy if you go there with others! Unique selections paired with lots of beer and wine choices. Very cozy atmosphere.
Bray Sims
Great food... Local vibe! The place was clean and well lit. The servers were excellent and gave me honest and informed recommendations!! I will return.....
Edmond Bedjeti
I've had some really good food here. Not everything is a home run. The beer selection is great. I love the coffee.
The wait can be bad sometimes but it has gotten better recently.
Rachel B
Excellent brunch with killer bloody marys and great service. Light, airy atmosphere and quite charming. They serve meals at the bar in case you don't want to wait for a table. We showed up at 11 am on Sunday and only had a 20 minute wait.
Mick Gringo (MickRVA)
This is the place to share the best moments with the best of those who mean the most...
Carolyn Lee
Best service and food in town. I regularly dream about the Greek yogurt panna cotta brunch dish.
Arthur Wellenstein
The food is amazing. I have been there countless times, and have never had a bad meal. What makes it even better is that the staff is nice and inviting, and the environment is very cozy.
Mark Peterson
A little bit pricey but worth it. We used their takeout curbside during the pandemic, always happy to eat there. You will be too. :-)
Olivia Blain
Taste, quality of meals are delicious. My favorite is the berries, banana cream crepes add nutella. The price of the food and the friendly staff is always fun.
Alex Coon
Had brunch here with a couple friends on a Saturday morning. Trick is to get there early as the place fills up fast. Had a Mexican-style crepe called the "sexy Mexi" with barbacoa meat, green chili sauce, and guacamole from the specials menu. Amazing! I'm a big fan of Blue's Egg and Maxie's, and can't wait to go back to their newest offering to Milwaukee dining.
Sam Tobias
Long wait on Sunday. Great food & drinks made up for the wait. Valentine coffee. 👍🏾 …
Scott Ford
Tried Avocado BLT. Bacon is thick & tasty. Bread is a bit thick. Generous on the avocado and tomato. Would be perfect with toast instead of hoagie roll. Great selection of drinks and savory dishes. Plan to return to try others.
Diana Joy
Chicken meatballs are life.
Great service, amazing cocktails, delicious food...and a Lil' store to bring home some cheer.
Nay Jar
I love good quality food. They definitely set themselves apart with unique dishes - delish!
Holly Bergum
We came to this cool space for drinks and were not disappointed. The cocktails were not only good, but in spite of a packed room the bar staff was turning out drinks at super speed while maintaining friendly positive service. Definitely recommend.
Carly Kroll
Creative menu, every dish we had was a delight. I love the decor and environment. The staff were warm and gave great suggestions. I will definitely be going back.
john moloney
Wow, very nice. Little bit of a wait. But was worth it. Our server was excellent, food was fresh full of flavor.
Nice whiskey slection . Great dinner.
Donna Kummer
This place makes me want to explore the Story Hill neighborhood more. I'd say that BKC is a great little secret, but it looks like a LOT of people flock there regularly. Amazing selection of beverages and creative food choices. A little too pricey to go there on a regular basis, but perfect for a special treat.
Diego Diaz
Great place to go on a date and try new foods! Excellent beer selection as well. My wife discovered a delicious spicy Mexican mocha and wants to just come in for that and the rolls! I'll stay for the beer.
Joe Mace
This place had good food, felt like food was prepared with great care. In my opinion, it was a bit overpriced as paying quite a bit extra for accompaniments. The seating area was nice and small, great place for a small group.
Daigham Bowers
What a place! Service is top notch, atmosphere is also very nice. The entire venue is very tosa in so many ways....also did I mention how good all of the food is! Just go and check it out already you won't regret it!
sean goggins
Food was very good. There's something for the more adventurous diner, and for those not so adventurous. Nice, small place atmosphere. Service was attentive....try the cocktail flight
Magdie Rizk
Had their take out fish fry and mushroom risotto and thought it was just ok. Potato pancake was bland. Did the fish fry for 2 and it just wasn’t enough food. Going to stick with them for brunch only
Damir Djidic
First time here, 100% coming back. Delicious food, friendly staff and a great brunch atmosphere. It's a must visit!
Thomy Singh
One of the better brunch spots in the Milwaukee area. Very busy, I would recommend having the Nowait app to place yourself in line. The shakshouka is amazing along with any of the crêpe specials. This place is great for couples or small groups.
TIMOTHY C
Probably one of my favorite spots for brunch in Milwaukee. the wait is well worth it! I almost don't even want to give them this could have review so I can keep it to myself
Laura Blaser
Story Hill BKC is my favorite brunch in town and I’m a BIG brunch person. I’ve probably been to every notable brunch place in town, but this is the one keep coming back to. Their shakshouka is something that rivals most others. The house cured bacon is great, if you’re debating between crepes or burritos they the perfect Frankenstein bfast offering of a crepurrito. I cannot say enough good things.
Ben Holter
Great food and drink options! Not a standard brunch menu but delicious if you are into food! Try some of the many taps, wines, or coffee beverages too (all are available to go too)!
Emily B
I really love the environment but there's just minimal vegetarian options. More veg options for brunch than there are for dinner.
Natalie
I have never been disappointed y Story Hill BKC. A perfect lunch or brunch location. There are a lot of daily specials, so there is always something new and delicious to try!
James Barber
Wonderful food and the staff is very friendly. Valentine coffee is good and their espresso drinks are in point. Highly recommend, but expect a wait.
Max Celey
The food is always fantastic and the service is great. One of my favorite brunch spots.
Shanna “Banana” Bremer
Friendly staff. It's fun to watch the kitchen from the table. The escargo and baked provolone were too die for. So glad i finally stopped here, not sure why I waited so long
Christina Green
The place is great and the service is awesome. The food was ok. The paté crêpe really had no paté other than paté-infused butter. They should change the name. We loved our waiter!
Rashmi Shantharam
Really pretty and really good food.
Mike Hogan
Our favorite place to eat as couple or family. Also love the back room for larger gatherigs.. great food, share And eat your way through the menu. Amd the entire staff is famtastic, friendly and add to the experience.
Lindsay Patterson
Good atmosphere. This time around our meal's flavors were lackimg which was disappointing even though we had their daily brunch specials.
Wesam Abdallah
Really nothing to add outside of what has already been said. Service is great, atmosphere also killer, and the food is equally awesome.
Probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to when price is factored in.
Eric Sundquist
Unique menu, but kind of a limited number of options. Been here a couple times and it's always been a struggle to find something to get excited about. Their good service makes up for it a bit.
Josh Thingvold
Food was great. Service helped us pick out some great options. Solid beer selection and an extensive wine list. Will be going again
Gina Neumann
Excellent place with yummy food. They have different sized dishes great for passing. Out of everything, I’d definitely have the perch and hand pies again!
Kari Dunn
My bloody Mary and Greek Crepe were fantastic. Great friendly service. Will return soon@
Justine Bowles
I had our bartender, Rebecca, surprise me with my order (I'm vegetarian). She NAILED it. The service was phenomenal and the food was outstanding! Thank you!
Gwyn Pokrzewinski
Typical brunch prices. Great menu. Super friendly service! Love that they took a reservation on a weekend for my large group!
Kassidy Beck
Made a reservation based on a recommendation from some locals. Quick service, delicious food, and enjoyable atmosphere. Would highly recommend to others. Split the fruit stuffed crepes and the bread pudding.
Amanda Venhaus
Great place for brunch. No matter the meal, the food is excellent. Usually the wait is really long, even for lunch on weekdays. For brunch on weekends try to get there before 10:30am.
Caleb Morfitt
I had a great experience at Story Hill: quality food, large portions, and very good service!
Also, shout out to the busboy who made our experience extra special with his good looks and impeccable humor.

Jessica Ostrye
Great food and great service! Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Maritza Cadena
Service was amazing- food was amazing. We were a group of 8 and all had something different. Everyone enjoyed their food & Bloody Mary's.
JBS
Food was good. Although had the special smoked trout soup on opening day and well it didn't have any fish just potatoes. So that was very disappointing.
Erica Vinson
Love love love the staff here. Always courteous. The food is good and the drink selection is great. Also love their retail selection of wine. Join the Best Guest club!
Elizabeth Yardley
Fabulous food and drinks...sized to share so you can try a lot. Oxtail gyoza are a must! Dark chocolate chiffon pie is decadent but light. Will be back for sure!
ben kranitz
Ben our waiter was amazing and the food was out of this world. Thank you for making dinner great and for the candle on the dessert for my birthday. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant again

Good atmosphere, great drinks, food was adequate.

I love this place. Can't go wrong with the butter flake rolls, chicken meatball, and a slow cooked meat dish. Good beer and wine list.

At first we were unsure once our Waitress explained how we order. Once we nbn started ordering, we couldn't stop! Awesome place, good and staff.
Definitely will be back.

It was ok. Excellent service though.
Brendan Pancheri
Fantastic food every time! The frittata was awesome and so was the polenta dish! The beer and wine selection in the in-restaurant store is pretty great, too!
Amanda Horejsfield
Great food in a cool location - you can see them cooking your food in the back. Had the 3pm to 5pm menu - very good food in both entree and appetizer sizes.
Jeana White
There was a great variety of food to choose from. I have never tasted such delicious food yet affordable. The service was all fantastic.
Joe Ludwig
Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Come for the cafe, for a meal, or just to buy a bottle of wine and a pack of beer. The kitchen is always offering a wide variety of unique specials every weekend.

Daniel Fleming
The sirloin tartare was great (in spite of my preconceived notions), as was the duck confit flat bread. Great draft list. Would definitely recommend.
Christopher Ostram
I like the variety of dishes available, it's small plates and perfect for sharing. All of the food is well executed, however some of the prices are a little high for what you get.
Trevor B
Fantastic food, exceptional service in a very welcoming and comfortably unique setting. Recommend this place highly.
Weston Gritt
We were seated immediately even though it was 11am on Saturday. Food was excellent, and the decor is awesome. Will definitely be visiting often.

Aditya Karandikar
Wonderful place to go on a date or just casually with friends and family. Their crepe dishes are delicious and worth trying. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Brandon M
Great food and delicious cocktails too. The retail shop prices are a bit overpriced but other than that it is a lovely restaurant
Maya George
Food is amazing and reasonably priced, most of the menu is between $9-13.
I'd recommend calling ahead or making a reservation, waited about 30 min for lunch.
James Kopps
Really tasty brunch menu, and excellent tap selection. Great place for a beer flight and some food to start your Saturday off right.
Krista LaFave
This is always a really fun place for lunch. The owners are good people and donate often to local organizations, which is great. I find the food interesting and delicious.
Andy B
Absolutely fantastic place to eat. Great service, wonderful ambiance and delicious food. Highly recommended for those who love food.

Great gluten free options, delicious bloody marys, nice atmosphere and staff. Great all around, just be prepared to wait for a table, it can take quite a while.
Adam Meyer
The service was great, the food was delicious, and the drink menu was extensive (especially the wine list). The only downside was the fact that it was a bit pricey.
RAM III
Great food and amazing flavor combinations. Matt was an excellent server and added much fun engagement to our dining experience.
Mart Mart
Great fiod, shareable plates. They have 3 different sizes and the large are really large. Great service and such a cute place. Definitely give it a try.
Jordan Edinger
The food seems excellent and a lot of effort seems to be made to have unique flavors. My main complaint would be how incredibly busy it gets, but I suppose that's inevitable if a place is good.
Michele Braze
Oh what a meal! Terrific options to share or hog for yourself, super fresh, quality ingredients. Thoughtful service and attractive atmosphere. You've got to try this place.
Aaron Kinney
Don't come here without trying a Bloody Mary and a Crepe. For good measure, hitting up the wine shop on the way out never hurt anyone.
Vince.
I keep coming back time after time for the spectacular ambiance, creative menus, and great tap list & cocktails. Wait staff is attentive and courteous. Bottles are expensive. Very expensive.
Levi Yoder
BKC is the BOMB. Any special occasions, and thats where I wanna bring people. The wait staff is awesome, and extremely helpful. The food is to DIE for, and the drinks are fantastic and creative.

Nathan Tritt
Great menu and drink selection. Was my first time here, but I'll be back. Nice selection for To Go bottles of beer and wine.
John Odea
We wait the hour for our table which we told when we arrived 12 :10,no problem....After our hour wait, I Had to bring it to one of the hostess attention there was a table which been sitting empty for easly 20 minutes..set for 3 which coincidently was the size of our party..Seamed to be a lot of confusion .We were the last party waiting to be seated..I watched 6 to 7 parties seated ahead of us arriving 30 to 40 after we did ?I was taken back buy the whole experience, there seemed to be a total lack of urgency..Food was good ..Waitress ask if any of us wanted jam for our toast ?I said yes ,To my dismay the waitress never returned with jam .Our waitress did not return till our party was 80% done with our meal..There seemed to be a wave of apathy which came over the restuarant since we were sat at 1:20 and didn't see a waitress till almost 1:30.. the kitchen closed at 2 and it seemed like everybody had switched close-up mode including our waitress... Anyways..live and learn..don't know if I'll be back spent $80 + on breakfast and drinks. J.O. C.I.A. 80
Sam Cleveland
I've been here three times and every time the food has been great. The most recent time we were here we were seated in a nice, private room without even requesting it.
Stacy K (Wanderingcontessa)
A small plates restaurant. Excellent cocktails, unique desserts. Great place to go with other couples, as you can all try different things.

Upscale but not at all pretentious (like all Black Shoe restaurants). Amazingly good food at a reasonable price in a comfortable setting.

One of the better restaurants in the Milwaukee area. You might want to get there a little bit early to get your hands on the coffee ribs as they sell out pretty fast.
