Oh my deliciousness yummy yummy yumminess the service excellent, food excellent, vibes excellent and parking was a great day. I had crab cake, shrimp cocktail, cod dinner and shared shrimp dinner. Everyone loved their food. I love that I can get a fish dinner on any day of the week. Weekdays are easier than Friday night. Highly recommended! Off street meter parking. Bar outside and inside yes go meet some friends and enjoy!

We had an amazing experience during our first visit! The service was very friendly and high quality; the food was delicious and perfectly made! We got grouper cheeks, Jamaican jerk swordfish sandwich and the lobster roll. Everything was great! Recommend coming here.

By far the best and fresh seafood I have experienced in Milwaukee! Loved every bite of my generously filled lobster roll. Fresh and delicious Walleye was another gem. Not greasy or over breaded. My son order grilled shrimp taco and he graded them A+. Overall great experience!!!

Excellent location and really good food. This shop is housed in a bigger public market, which is just really neat. There’s fresh fish, a full menu, and a fair amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I was happy to order some clam strips, a lobster roll, and enjoy the benches in the sun.
Overall, fair prices and it was fast to get and out with lunch. Highly recommend.
Jimmy Vo
Wonderful lobster roll place with steam mussels and New England clam chowder. The food was tasty and we wanted more lobster roll and mussels. We love the atmosphere and the fast service! Definitely we want to come again if we ever take a roll trip again passing by Milwaukee.

Went St. Paul's Fish Market for lunch. As always their food does not disappoint. Both my wife and I had the Lobster Rolls. So delicious! Glad we got there before the lunch rush as we were seated right away. When we left about 35 mins later it was packed with a wait. Actually anytime I go there it's a wait. We were surprised we got seated right away. Great place, great food!
Chris N
Absolutely brilliant. The food is very good and the prices are great especially considering the quality. There's a huge choice on the menu but it would be a crime to let the lobster roll pass you by, it's superb served on a very good toasted brioche bread with a very generous amount of lobster stuffed in. The oysters are also really good
SPICY
Fresh Fast Tasty Reasonable price.
Really good grilled seabass with fruits salad. Light and clean taste. One of the best crab cake. Meaty excellent seasoning and perfect cook. Fast and friendly service as well.

St. Paul Fish Company is located in the Milwaukee Public Market. They are basically a seafood shoppe but they have Oyster bar casual seating as well as table seating inside and outside. Fish and seafood on the menu is fresh every day and can be bought to take home or ordered off their menu. Service is top notch and no matter what you order it’s always going to be delicious! We ordered fried calamari, wild caught Atlantic salmon prepared buerre blanc with grilled veggies and rice, fried lake walleye with chips and super delicious seafood bouillabaisse bowl filled with fish, mussels, shrimps, and squid! We come here every trip to Milwaukee. All menu items we’ve had are 5 star!

Good seafood, service was excellent. This place is in the Milwaukee public market. It's very busy, and restrooms are far and upstairs from the restaurant itself. Our server was very friendly and thoughtful. After we ordered, we asked where the restrooms were. She watched until the person came back from the restrooms to bring our gumbo.

The St. Paul Fish Company in the Milwaukee Public Market is pretty dang cool. The market is located in the historic Third Ward adjacent to the downtown business district. We were there on a busy Sunday, but found a place to eat just outside the door. The wait was minimal, and they page you with a buzzer when the food is ready anyway. They sell an amped up lobster roll on a garlic toasted brioche. It has shredded lobster and sizable chunks of lobster meat with plenty of seafood seasoning. It's a good value because it comes with a decent helping of fries and a small cole slaw. It's almost enough for two people with an appetizer or something. The crab cake is tasty, but it's only one medium portion. There is a big selection of fresh seafood available as well as prepared dishes including the Wisconsin Fish Fry, hey. I don't see any way around getting that lobster roll on every visit. It's a, see food; eat food, thang.
Vic L
Really good experience here. Waitress was kind. Food was visually pleasing and super delicious! Would come back just to eat the lobster roll again 😛 …
Faith
Wow this place is a gem! Delicious food. I ordered the lobster roll with fries and cole slaw. My partner ordered the fried catfish and fries. Everything was delicious. Wait was only about an hour for seating inside. Located right when you walk in the market on the right hand side. Lots of food to choose from.

We went to the Milwaukee Market for my son's 15th Birthday. What a wonderful experience. So many treats and goodies! The oyster bar gave him 2 free oysters before we ate dinner. The lobster roll sandwich has been on my 'must try' list so we ate at St. Paul fish market and the owner went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. When we finished dinner, the owner sent over a cupcake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday! We really appreciate your kindness and caring. This was such a nice and fun experience. The food was outstanding. Really large portions and very tasty, everything cooked to perfection. Thank you!

This is my 2nd visit to St Paul, and the experience as a tourist was cool. The fresh seafood selection is top tier. Upon arriving, we were promptly seated and the wait staff was quick and friendly. We arrived right before the lunch crowd and ordered a variety of oysters on the half shell, along with the shrimp and sausage gumbo for starters. What a great choice! The oysters were mouth watering delicious!! For lunch we decided on the fish tacos, and the fried jumbo shrimp! The tacos were a hit and the fried shrimp was incredibly fresh and fried perfectly!! I will definitely recommend them to others.
Josh Zignego
A great spot in the market to get some seafood. The oysters were $1.50-1.75 each and pretty good. The Bloody Mary with salmon crack was delicious. Definitely recommend eating here!
Willie The tall kid
Great stop in downtown Milwaukee. The Public Market is a great place regardless but St. Paul Fish Market may be it's best spot. This picture is the Bloody Mary. They asked if I wanted lobster. I said "Of course." Great daily specials on very fresh seafood. I've had the oysters there several times and am always impressed with the freshness, especially when Milwaukee is so far from an ocean. Tons of other great food options in the market as well.
Bill P
Great food! The staff/patrons were all friendly, and the fact that people got to bring their dogs was a huge plus. Excellent seafood choices. Return trips will definitely be had.
Travelicious_d
Stopped here while in the area. I heard alot about their lobster roll but honestly didn't expect much from it as I seen it as I usually prefer Connecticut style lobster rolls as most places over do it eitht the mayo when you get the other style. To mt surprise I loved the lobster roll here it was so fresh delicous and flavorful. I also tried the shark skewer which was amazing too. I also came back another day and got the blackened salmon sandwhich which also was good.
Chris Pierce
What a fantastic experience at St Paul’s. Located in middle of Milwaukee Public Market where there’s dine-in, take-out and a fish market if you prefer to take fresh and prepare how you’d like. We went the lazy route and had them prepare for us. Crab cake was best we’ve had and the 1/2 dozen West Coast Oysters were just right as well. We got the King Crab Leg Roll and Lobster Roll and both were out of this world!! Treat yourself!!
J Marinelli
Absolutely love this restaurant. Such awesome quality and great staff. In addition, the prices are incredibly reasonable. The whole lobster is still a great price as are all the other seafood selections.
Grace Robinson
this was hands down the BEST lobster roll ive had in my life & ive had quite a few! we are visiting from chicago and multiple locals told us to check out this spot and dang, they were right! the restaurant is located in the totally cute MKE public market and is amazing! the staff was friendly and answered all my questions and gave great recommendations. started with the friend oysters which were pretty good but the lobster roll and fries were TO DIE FOR! it’s definitely worth making the trip if you’re in milwaukee or around!! will be coming back :)
Suzanne Dampier
LOVE sitting at the Tiki bar on balmy days. A perfect little tropical getaway in the middle of a busy workday. Recently had their fried surf clam tacos on National Fried Clams Day, which just happened to fall on Taco Tuesday. A match made in heaven!
Josh Baltazar
Went to the Milwaukee Public House, and ate at the St. Paul's Fish Company. I got the Walleye Fish Fry (half a pound of handbreaded fresh with served with fries and a coleslaw). They gave wayyy too many fries but nothing wrong with that. Anyways I also had a Schlitz beer. Perfect pairing and service was really solid.
Kris Hand
This was by far, the best food I had during our long stay in Milwaukee. We heard several people talking about the calamari steak and the lobster roll, so we tried those along with an assortment of oysters.
The oysters were fresh and delish! The lobster roll is nearly impossible to describe because I could never do the description justice. The roll itself is buttered and lightly toasted and soft (not like some breads that slice your mouth up). The lobster “salad” on the roll is so flavorful and delicious that I wanted to plan my next 20 vacations around this place. Soooo good. My husband was pleasantly surprised by his calamari steak. The flavor, the sauce, the way it’s cooked, were all perfect.
If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and come here. You won’t regret it.

Dropped in after seeing and hearing about how great this place was. Although really busy, they had a table for two available so we were seated instantly. Great!
We both had the famous & popular lobster roll.
Pros:
- great value and very filling. For $18.95 there's a lot of lobster, something that in my experience usually goes for $22-25
- coleslaw was not too greasy and creamy so was a nice contrast
Cons:
- lobster was quite salty and a bit too much mayonnaise/cream in the lobster salad mix.
- I wish there was a lemon to balance everything out
My review is probably a bit harsh after having tried some amazing lobster rolls in Boston, Maine and Maryland. This was definitely worth it and quite solid being in the Midwest. I just wish the lobster was less salty!
Bryan Clarke
Amazing seafood casual stop. Over the top bloody Mary with shrimp and a lobster tail that was very reasonably priced considering the contents. Lobster roll was the bomb.
Silvia Rogel
This is a great place!! Loved the Walleye fish fry, the hot and peel shrimp, and of course, the St. Paul lobster bloody mary! It was fire!!!
Letty Jean
Awesome lobster roll. Heck of a wait to get your food though. We were told 30 minute wait to get a table and really it was around 45 minutes. It was about an hour+ wait to get my lobster roll but I’d do it again. The toasted buttery roll it comes on is something you could eat by itself it was so good. Some of the lobster was chewy and hard to eat but I demolished it anyway. The experience of the Milwaukee public market was something we don’t have on the other side of the state where I’m from, so I didn’t mind waiting. I’d like to try some of the other things on the menu next time. Everyone else’s food looked so good too! Good food, good views from the table and nice staff.
Emil Jayatileke
First visit Milwaukee, and was told I have to try St. Paul’s at the market, and I was not disappointed! The lobster roll was great and are server was super friendly. The salmon jerky on the Bloody Mary was a nice touch, but doesn’t compare to a Canadian Caesar ;)
Chrissy Jonelis
Great place! If I lived in Milwaukee, I'd be here all the time - and prob, 2x as heavy!
The seafood is fresh here. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were great!
The place is busy. They have seating inside and out. If you sit inside, you need to check in at the checkout counter for them to seat you or put your name on a list. They will give you a buzzer if you need to wait. So you are able to walk around the market, and not have to just stand there to wait.
Mina H
My favorite go to place for the seafood cravings in the heart of downtown Milwaukee!
Love the buttery and savory lobster roll, and creamy New England clam chowder soup.
Sooya xyooj
This is the place you want to be at. AMAZING FOOD, DRINKS, AND SERVICE. Whether it's ordering at the bar or table. I highly recommend this place.
Emilee Deck
Great! Got the lobster roll and was not disappointed. Super creamy and they really give you a lot of lobster meat! Called ahead as I drove downtown so it would be ready. The coleslaw is also really good!
fernando ramirez
if you're debating between eating here and anywhere else, stop the debate and eat here! we ordered the 'lobster boil' and the 'lobster roll' and each one was absolutely top of the line! the lobster in the boil order was huge and the amount of lobster in the roll was so much! the service was great and the fries were good also. we ordered 6 oysters from different parts of the US and each one of those were so good as well. i'd highly suggest anybody to stop by here if they like seafood. it was an overall great experience here. the only downfall was the wait time but it was worth it.
Donna Hook
This place has the most awesome Walleye! It is moist, delicious and not greasy. I can't wait to try some of the other fish they have.
traleynan
Had one of each of their oysters for the day and the bouillabaisse all of the seafood was fresh. Service was fine. My only reason for the loss of stars is the bouillabaisse although fresh seafood had overcooked fish and the broth was thin and pretty tasteless. It was missing the usual deep seafood flavor I would expect and was a little too sweet. Not horrible but definitely not something I would care to order again unless I was absolutely craving and there wasn't anywhere else to go. Waitress was great and knowledgeable. Gave great descriptions of each of the oysters and attentive.
B.J. Gober
Excellent place for finger food and a beer. Very busy in the market building. Many tourist and locals. I had couple beers at the bar everyone liked the food the food they ordered.
John Walker
The fried oyster po boy sandwich was great. The shrimp & sausage gumbo and fries were good too, but the po boy was the star. There is a bit of a wait here when they're busy. My wait was about 15 minutes during what appeared to be weekday summer lunch rush.
Stephanie Alcee
Almost perfect!!! We came here for lunch/dinner 2 days in a row. Our waitress, (I think maybe it was Cori) was outstanding and the food was served fast and was tasty. We both had the Alaskan King Crab Boil. It was tasty but not the best or freshest I've ever had. The potatoes could have used more flavor but the corn was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very helpful with recommendations. We returned today to have oyster shooters, the fried walleye and the Cajun BBQ shrimp. The shrimp were outstanding!!!! A 10/10!!!!! The walleye was crispy and fresh, but could have used a bit of seasoning. No real complaints though. Whenever I come back to Wisconsin, I'll definitely visit again!!!
Eunice Valdivia
We have an amazing experience every time. The oyster shooters are always fresh. I also recommend the grilled Mahi sandwich.
Andrea A
Delectable establishment. Great prices on the seafood and great for sampling different types of food! Oysters Rockefeller were a charred goodness and the fried calamari were fresh and tasty.
Warren Anderson
This is a gem of the third ward. Tucked into the corner of the market, with not nearly enough seating (but if you come in between lunch and dinner on a weekday, you won't have to wait usually), the food is pricey (because seafood) but worth it. Best lobster roll I've had outside the New England area. Crab cakes as good as you get most places in Maryland. Never had a dish that left me disappointed.
Carolyn March
Service…excellent…grouper fish fry and lobster roll..decadent! Fresh and perfectly cooked
D “Juanito” H
First time at the Milwaukee Public Market, it is amazing how much is going on here and we definitely regret coming here this late being only 1.5 hrs away. The seafood at St Paul is comparable to what we have tried in Boston, the freshness, the flavor of the dishes are just right so you can still taste the seafood, perfect. Will surely come again and soon!
Mike T
Day 1 - Ate in the dinning room and was I blown away how great the food was.
Day 2 - Sat at the outside bar for lunch, the fish fry (lake perch and Grouper) was the best I have ever had.
The bartenders are very cool, get there early if you want a seat cause this place is popping.
Iris Bichler
The restaurant is located inside the food market. We came here for lunch and so it was very busy and we waited for about 25 minutes to be seated. Service was very friendly and the food fresh and tasty
Ryan Bergen
We ordered the walleye fish fry and it was delicious. Our server, Patrick, was awesome. Super fast, courteous, and very amicable. Couldn't ask for better service when the place was filled to capacity. Truly impressive place to dine and will definitely be coming back.
Niloofar Hubrich
One of the best seafood restaurants we have been to, ever. Everything we ordered was cooked to absolute perfection and cooked fresh with very reasonable prices. The grouper cheek was to die for and the calamari steak was THE BEST we have had in the US. The market is fun to visit and the bar is super fun.
Simone LaPierre
Delicious Oysters, Fair pricing and bustling atmosphere. Find slow times to go but worth it to make several trips for their different daily specials!
Amanda S
One of the best “let’s try this place” meals I’ve ever had. Stopped for lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We were able to sit immediately at the oyster bar. Service and food were excellent. We ordered a few beers a bloody mary a variety of oysters a lobster roll and the grouper cheek tacos and everything came out perfect. I’m not total sure what salmon crack is (they topped the Bloody Mary with it) but it was better than bacon . 10*s
In addition the market is grat spot to grab some souvenirs and what ever kind of food if someone in your party doesn’t like seafood.
Nathaly
Enjoyed the walleye fish fry!! Fresh fish, crispy/ light breading, tasty coleslaw and good fries. All was lightly salted and I'm going to assume not seasoned which was perfect. Let the fish be the star and not have natural flavors overpowered in anyway. Best fish fry I've ever had. Just straight forward good stuff!
jean-michel 31530
French guy at milwaukee for his job and happy to eat at St Paul Fish Company.
Special thanks to david my server.
alan grabow (ALnG Culinary)
Had the swordfish dinner and it is to die for! Full flavor and tender, melt in your mouth with Buer blanc.
Chloe L
Hands down the best lobster roll!!! Everything is delicious and service is always top-notch!
Alexei Marshakov
First visit after COVID - we got a seat at the bar outside. Very friendly bartenders. Food service was slowish on a Saturday afternoon, but they were super busy. Their staple - Steamed Lobster - got changed to a Lobster boil -now comes with boiled potatoes and corn (instead if fries and cole slaw. We were very disappointed, as both lobsters came overcooked and were tough and chewy :(. Definitely not in line with all the previous experiences. Will give it another try....hope the cooks will clean their act.
Dustin Milbrath
Such an amazing experience! The selection of seafood here is astonishing! They have several areas to sit for food, oyster bar, outdoor/indoor bar, and a seating area, the service I got from Des was by far the best service I’ve had in a long time! A+++
✔️Blackened Alaskan Halibut
✔️Selection of 5 different east coast oysters
✔️Crab Claw Bloody Mary
All the food was absolutely amazing!
Gillian Lester-George de Montesinos
St. Paul Fish Company is the place to go for quality, fresh seafood in Milwaukee. Additionally, they have amazing lobster rolls.
natasha gregory
Best fried Walleye ever... the oysters are fresh and clean ... I love them... I always get the fried calamari because the sauce they serve with it is something special ... like I crave it at home ... I also love the cod dinner it’s so flaky and crispy... Good stuff right here I think you should try it!!! I promise you won’t be disappointed... the seating is a little weird but I mean we are in a pandemic 😷... they are very clean and flipped tables like a champ... literally after guest leave they rush to the table to disinfect!!! Well definitely worth coming back!!! Many great options to choose from.😋 CHECK IT OUT
Oliver Jonelis
Fantastic, reasonably priced seafood market/restaurant. Thursday is 'Buck a Shuck' for Blue point oysters!! Best priced, best value, best quality seafood I've had in years.
Jennifer Stuart
I cannot say enough about this place. I moved here from the South 3 years ago and thought the only time I would get a good poboy or catfish is when I went back to visit family.
I was wrong. I just hadn't found this place yet. I had the shrimp and sausage gumbo and a shrimp poboy and Mama had the catfish. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone, you will not regret it!
Tina Witt
I normally do not enjoy seafood this place was outstanding the food was so good⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heidi Hofelich
Had two oysters & a lobster Bloody Mary with salmon crack. They have the best bloody Mary’s here! I was on a time crunch but next time I will try one of each oyster and have some other things from the menu. Will 100% go back next time I’m in Milwaukee- this was the best brunch:)
Cathy Peterson
Love the ahi tuna. Very fresh. Fries unusually good. My husband enjoyed the oysters; particularly the Maine and New Brunswick ones. Waits are usually long and service is abrupt but responsive.
Jacob D
Best place in town for a lobster roll and a cold beverage!🦞🍻
Tasha Davis
I've experienced some of the best lobster rolls in Maine and the one here is at the same level or beats those rolls. Everybody that tells me they're going to Milwaukee to visit, I tell them no matter what their schedule is, they have to stop at St. Paul's to experience this lobster roll perfection.
J Hasker
Lobster roll sandwich is super! It is stuffed full of lobster chunks on a tasty toasted correct type of bun. The fries are fine but the star is the delicious sandwich. I’ve also had the lobster dinner, oysters on the half shell, fried calamari and a fish dinner. Everything has been fresh, hot and tasty. In Covid times, I appreciate the lovely outdoor tables and the ability to easily order and pickup at the counter.
Joel Johns
Lobster roll is my go to. I’ll put this up against the best of the best. So good!
Ngoc Nguyen
Service: best! Shoutout to gentleman at the bar(both outside and inside) an old man, a bigger man serve out side, 2 skinnier man inside, the sweet Latino like man, aww they are all making sure you get everything you need. Tried to find me spicy powder from the kitchen, asked if I want to switch the fried to anything else... they’re just awesome. They love their work and being kind to people. The cashiers for Togo order was just okay. I came here almost everyday in a week so I got pretty consistent experience.
Clams chowder: is the best best I ever have. And very consistent. Not just those creamy potato-y soup, they have good amount of clams, not super creamy, just right texture and salty level is just right. I ordered it 3 times and all taste good! Very consistent
I like how they have different special offers every day. That’s Good to try out their food more
Oysters: great, fresh and right price. All of them
Drink: not satisfied. They really can improve the drink. I ordered a few cocktails and they are all like water down. Can beers are fine.
But yeah, still definitely come back, great spot.
Iwona G (IvonaMe)
Love this place. Very good food and wonderful service.
ash pattison
Great market'esk type of feeling. The food was mos def on point. A smidge too pricey for what it was. But all and I had a great time. Except for the 2 hours wait time. That was no bueno, but we had a cocktail bar to help us with that which was a plus.
Marsha Hernandez
The food is always fresh and cooked perfectly. never overcooked! Oysters are fresh and delicious. Nice variety of cocktails and drinks as well. I just wish the had more seating so sometimes there is a long wait, but worth it!!
Laine
Was suppose to be a short stop to get some cheese curds at the market turned into a sit down lunch at the St. Paul fish company, fresh, tender, fried to perfection was my po’boy. As good as the one I had in New Orleans, crab cake was stuffed full of fresh crab meat and that bloody mary was the cherry on top of our lunch! So satisfied and will definitely come back soon!
Erin Schroeder
Wow, wow! We were in town for a concert and stopped here before heading home. What a meal! What a team of friendly folks! Reasonable prices all around. Get there early for a table. Fast service, delicious food. Definitely a highlight of our trip. We recommend the clam strips and lobster roll. You won't leave hungry!
Jennifer Franco
Best Lobster Roll! Always yummy. Try the Mequon location for a more laid back experience though as this place gets super busy and seating is limited
Katrina Malone
I love the calamari steak appetizer. The Caesar salad, unfortunately, was tossed with too much salad dressing. Service was slightly slow during lunch hour on a Thursday.
Scott Schmaren
Great setting in the Public Market. Fish fry was the best we had. Great shrimp cocktail. Lobster roll was delicious and plentiful.
Freddie Peng
The oyster taste like it has been frozen for a period of time. The texture is a bit watery and not as what we were expecting.
But as for the meal with lobster, such as the lobster roll and the steamed lobster. They are more than perfect!!! definitely worthy a try!
Andy Cheng
Atmosphere – 3.5 Stars
Overall Service – 4.0 Stars
Food taste – 5.0 Stars
Food presentation – 3.5 Stars
Pricing – $$ Reasonably priced
Summary – Great seafood market/restaurant and reasonably priced. We ordered lobster roll, clam chowder, lobster bisque, tuna sandwich, king-crab roll and seafood platter. Everything was so fresh and taste so good. And because of that, you should expect some waiting time.
Brick Head
Nice surprise of a fish market with a small eating area. If you don't like fish, plenty of other options nearby and they don't mind if someone brings something else to the table. Nice oyster selection.
Shane Smart
Omg 10 stars. Affordable incredible tasting fresh seafood. Some reviews I saw where complaining about service. Hey with food this good I could care less

Milwaukee is part of what some call “America’s Third Coast”, the northern midwestern states that border the world’s largest freshwater bodies. I adore Lake Michigan; It’s part of the reason I moved here. It has that same beautiful expansive blue horizon like the ocean, but do you know what it doesn’t have? Lobsters. It doesn’t have lobsters, which is why I was so surprised that the lobster roll at St. Paul Fish Company was one of the most recommended sandwiches along my sandwich hunting journey. It may be 25 degrees Fahrenheit in this landlocked dairy state, but carpe diem; I’m cracking open a PBR and buying this $21 famed New England cuisine.
Now, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this sandwich— casually served in a cardboard container alongside an abundance of fries at the always-buzzing Milwaukee Public Market— but I wholly recognize I was missing a few things:
1. Warm summer weather. This is not a winter sandwich.
2. The smell of salt water. Surely these flavors pack a better punch with the potent scent of the sea in my nose and eyes and soul.
3. The classic hot-dog style bun, which surprised me considering Milwaukee’s abundance of bratwurst.
However, I’m on a quest for *Wisconsin* sandwiches. If I was going to review this properly, I needed to erase the existence of the idyllic northeast from my mind and respect the strengths of this great state. You know what I’m talking about— butter.
Wisconsin’s liquid Pride is traditionally a key player in a lobster roll, but at St. Paul’s, it’s the star. The earthy celery seed and salt I initially thought it was missing would have only distracted from the generously buttered Italian bread cooked to a pleasant crunch like that of a grilled cheese. No hot dog bun could reach this kind of flavor. And I have no doubt this creamy chicken-salad-style lobster ambrosia complemented the sweet Milwaukee nectar of PBR far better than anything coming from the coasts of Maine.
So if you’re going to give this one a shot, pour yourself a glass of your favorite local beer, pile up the napkins, and lean into those good ol’ Wisconsin values. This one’s made for the third coast.

Very good place for seafood! We went there for lunch. Fish and clam were sooo great and fresh. Highly recommend. Not many tables for dine-in and they get busy very fast, so you may have to wait for the table but worth it. Friendly staff.
Michael Arenas
Best seafood place in Milwaukee. Everything we got tasted fresh and delicious. Will be coming back again!
S G
St Paul Fish Company is sooo good. Nothing beats fresh seafood cooked to perfection!
The lobster roll $15.95. Not cheap, looks simple, but tastes awesome, worth every penny! The lobster inside are fresh and generous pieces. The bread in particular is like a texan toast which enhances the flavors!
The clam chowder is to die for, so rich creamy and packed with choice ingredients inside. Next time definitely going to get the largest pint!
The Fish Fry $14.95, can't leave without having em' in Milwakee and St Paul did not disappoint. Deep fried to perfection, tender inside with perfect crispy crunchy panko bread crumbs, yum!

Great place to eat high quality seafood

Had to get the Lobster Roll this time and it was worth it! It was my second visit to St. Paul Fish Company and it was a another great visit. Service was quick and employees were helpful and personable! I'll be back. #AdamsAppetite approves!
Chloe O
Always a treat to come here. Oysters are fresh, shucked nicely and the bar guys always know their oysters if you have questions. Also had lobster roll and lobster meat packed from bottom to top of the sandwich, no skimping. Gotta go before dinner time or there will be a wait. Place is great for stop in with friends and family, probably not a huge group as they have small eating area and 4 tops only. It's a louder atmosphere, and pretty casual.
Kelly Harrold
I drive up from Chicago to go the beach and come here for lunch often. I've loved the little outside bar long before Covid. Service is friendly, the tunes are chill, the food is fantastic without requiring formality or pretense and my fav part is that they are dog friendly. The fact that I can sit and chow on oysters, crab, lobster and premium fresh fish outside with a cocktail and my dog makes me about as happy as one can get.
Nathan Wischnewski
Another great dining experience!
The scallop dinner was delicious, and the king crab legs are always good.
Tara Lei Photography
Omg this was way above my expectation.... food was out of this world. Amazing blue point oyster, omg lobster rollllll 🤗🥵, ahi tuna was to die for and cant forget the world's famous lobster claw bloody mary. Cute market place. Small little sitting area, the wait was alittle long for a party of 6 but the over all wait was worth every minute. I would love to visit this place again.
Jason Martinko
Fantastic food and service. The price is right and the atmosphere is ok. Be prepared for a wait though. I've been here on a Saturday at 4:30pm (wait 20 minutes), Friday at 5pm (wait 35 minutes). It's a busy place.
Kyle Dahl
Overall: Hands down one of the best lobster rolls we've ever had!
The good: You'd think you were on the East Coast with how amazing their lobster roll is (and assumingly all their other options). Right up there at the top (only rivals Boston for us). Generous chunks of lobster that was filling even when we split, and sandwiched in a perfectly grilled, buttery bun. The roll came paired with hot, crispy fries and cole slaw, so we left full and happy. The other options (including all the fresh fish) looked incredible - I wish we stayed multiple days so we could try others.
The not-so-good: The area is a bit chaotic in terms of ordering and looking at the menu (since it's nestled in with the rest of the market). It's not overwhelming, but be prepared!
Food: 10/10
Atmosphere: 9/10
Service: 9/10

One of, if not the best seafood spot in Milwaukee. Love the Tiki Bar, always a good time. Pretty busy spot, try going non-peak hours
MrDietsam
The fried clams are a thing of beauty, either on their own with remoulade or as a taco deal on Tuesdays.
Also, the employees are very friendly and good about cleaning, sanitizing, and wearing masks correctly. Plexiglass divides patrons into spaces of 2 outside at the bar. It is heated with outdoor gas heaters, making it a semi-open air outdoor dining area that is warm even in colder temperatures.
Alan Hopper
This is the best bar in Milwaukee. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but it's the truth. Amazing food, excellent beverages, fantastic service. If you can only go to one place in our beautiful, if occasionally chaotic city, go here. You will leave a better person for the simple experience.
Aaron Book
Alex is the man. He treated us well and walked us through some of the types of oysters. Amazing lobster roll. Ordered a Big Sexy to drink. Thank you Alex. Wife ordered lobster roll and we got oysters. 2 of each kind they had. I got the walleye fish fry. Can't wait to go back.
Shirley Huang
Everytime I come here, I always order the lobster roll. The last time I was here was before quarantine and decided to stop by today. It seems like the lobster roll wasn't as flavorful as before, but nonetheless still good. I felt safe dining in because there was little wall barriers put up between tables and there was also hand sanitizer on every table!
Jay Felstow
Excellent fresh fish meals right from it's fish market counter. I had the walleye dinner with a phenomenal tasting vegetable medley. My wife had the large crab cake. The wait staff was very polite, friendly and efficient.
Colin Stuart
Amazing tasting food. Got the Lobster Roll and was blown away, typing this makes me want to go back and get another. The clam chowder was less impressive… no discernible pieces of clam or clam flavor, still tasty but didn’t shine like the roll. A friend got the oysters Rockefeller… that also looked great. If you’re in Milwaukee and craving seafood (but not Sushi) go here!
Sergio Perelli
I cannot remember our bartender's name but he was awesome. Rarely do I find a server who tells me about food the way I want to hear it. He was telling me about rave reviews and how excellent of a value of the daily special was. He even went through each section of the menu and told us his favorites. We sat outside and had perfect weather. Ended up going with his recommendations and they did not disappoint. I've had lobster rolls on the east coast and this is a solid competitor. I will remember that bread for a long time. Do not miss this place and sit outside if the weather is nice, especially when it is busy since it is all free seating.
Holly Weber
Service was great and food was EXCELLENT! Until this visit, I've only had a bloody mary from here ( which I definitely reccomend). We ordered the 1lb crab legs and Walleye Fry. Both came with fries and coleslaw. The crab legs were so tasty and fresh and the walleye was huge and excellent! Cannot wait to go back!
Said Hamideh
This is a well loved casual seafood eatery with one of the happiest little corner bars in the city attached to it. I have yet to try most things on their extensive menu but I do highly recommend the tuna caesar salad as well as their bloody marys which I have pictured below.
Trae Herring
One of our favorite meals on a 10 state drive. The wait is a bit long and the guy running the wait list was not very happy with life that day, but the food and service won us over.
The raw oysters are fresh and affordable. The absolute highlight of the meal was the fried perch -- best I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and eat here!
DC Simonds
Amazing seafood selection! Server was amazing as well! A must have while in Milwaukee!!!
Thomas Brunhart
I travel a lot. I was out with a client in Chicago and we started chatting about places we really, really, enjoy and one place took up a good part of the conversation: St. Paul Seafood in the Public Market in the Historical Third Ward of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have had many of their seafood delights and I have fallen in love with their lobster roll. Spoon size hunks of lobsters on fresh Texas toast with coleslaw and fries on the side. I would give this place 5 stars without hesitation for it's food. But I have one issue: they have a policy not to let you "take out" an order when they have their specials. It just gives me a pain in the buttocks that I can't take their great cuisine home to share! So I am docking them a half a star! :9) But seriously, the food is great at a great value. The ambiance of the Public Market's hustle and bustle makes for great people watching. Try it out, for fresh seafood there isn't a place like it in Milwaukee.
Kevin Faulkner
We ate outside under the tiki.
The Salmon salad was great. And then the ousters to start was just as good. Would go back again and again.
Roy
The location inside the Market is really nice. Service was excellent, by a wonderful Latina Lady. Fresh seafood is always the way to go. Great experience and atmosphere.
Leticia O
St. Paul's is my first stop anytime I land in Milwaukee. It's my main reason for my visit. They never disappoint!
MOE Saadi
Great place to eat and enjoy the indoors , they have a great selection of seafood.
We had the oyster sampler , Fried halibut , grilled red grouper, grilled sword fish , smoked salmon pastrami
All was just excellently done :)
On top of the great food , our server (Patrick) was awesome
Michele Leblanc
Laid back seafood place with decent food. The salmon crack is just what it sounds like...addictive and oh so good!!!
Cindy Bartelt
Try the Lobster Roll (comes with fries)! Prices are fair and the quality of the food is outstanding. You may have to wait a bit for a counter ordered togo order but it is worth it. You won’t find better in the area!
Kathy Christensen
Best damn drinks! Stop by and you won't be disappointed! The Bloody Mary's are over the top and include shrimp, salmon jerky, and a lobster claw. Ya can't go wrong. Btw the staff is seriously great, too!
Brett Harmeling
Hidden gem in the epicenter of Cream City. Fun, lively, tiki-bar where locals and visitors meet in the middle. Amazing Bloody Mary’s outfitted with the worlds best beer Spotted Cow
John Cmiel
Excellent seafood, wonderful service. If you’re in the area stop by for lunch and visit the unique shops in the mall.
David Trang
Places like this is what makes Milwaukee beautiful. I MEAN LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT IT! Also, if you like blue point oysters, be sure to check em out on Thursdays for their discount. Great customer service, great food!
ShaShah Yamaguchi
Th catfish we purchased were fresh and large in size. I am sad I didnt take a picture. The quality of the fish was the best unfrozen catfish my family has purchased in quite some time. They have many sit and dine spots inside the Public Market. I purchased the most delicious chocolates from a shop inside this place. I went back Valentines Day for seconds.
Valerie Jupe
This place is just the best.
Great service from the staff, amazing food from the Patriot oysters, to the fantastic lobster roll with delicious fries, to the grouper sandwich... This place always makes me happy.
Joni S
The caesar salad was nothing special with plenty of brown/ red bits. The raw patriots oysters, which were recommended, did not disappoint. The cocktail was hard to screw up. The experience went south only due to the very tall man with a slight build and glasses. He was fine to me until I tried to defend the elderly stranger next to me. Then he became arrogant and unapologetic. He clearly could have been more accommodating had he removed his cranium from his own rear end. The rest of the staff was fantastic which saved the day.
Johnathan “jp” Predaina
Small seating area but great food. Had the shrimp Po boy and it was as good as New Orleans. Shared an order of oysters with a friend and they were also very good, could have done without the water the oysters came in but we managed to find them all. Prices were reasonable.
miguel chang
The best lobster 🦞 /shrimp 🦐 roll of my life ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!

Arem Assuan
Food was amazing. Great oyster Rockefeller. Fenomenal lobster roll!!! Go try their food!
Jane D
The bloody mary was amazing. I had the poached salmon salad, the salmon was flavorful and poached to perfection. The other food we ordered was the grouper tacos and the shrimp tacos. Both were delicious and highly recommended.
Beth Klobuchar-Mendez
We love to visit here. Brought our visiting family from Mexico to join us for the fabulous Oysters!!
Jan Cooper
This is our go to place for raw oysters on the half shell anytime we are in Milwaukee. Always so fresh tasting. Great fried calamari and the one pound shrimp cocktail is a treat to share.
Jacqueline Valens
This meal I'll remember for a lifetime.
I consider myself a bloody Mary connoisseur, and this is the best one in the MKE area by far. Not only for the garnish, but the amazing flavor.
We ordered oysters, which was my first time, and our server was so helpful with suggestions. They were excellent.
I ordered the perch fry. And I'm still glowing from the deliciousness.
11/10
Kurt Shimala
Picked up a lake perch sandwich to go and a Miller Lite, ate outside on one of the picnic tables. The perfect lunch that hit the spot. I would definitely go back, and maybe “eat in” next time in the sit down area across from the counter.
Keith Dandridge
Hands down the freshest seafood in Milwaukee with afforable prices. We want to go back just to try more on the menu. The public market can get VERY busy so get there early if you can.
Cristina Senodenos
Our server Patrick was nice. Lobster roll was delicious...crab legs were delicious. Highly recommend.
Andrew B.
Always on our minds. Once you've tried the place, it will always be on your mind.
We return as often as we can and as seafood lovers living in WI. they caught our attention right away.
Karinabel -
5+ stars for the lobster roll. Pretty busy place.
Sandra Arnold
They are busy, but they are friendly, and everything we've had is so good tasting. To give you an idea of the price: Tonight we went for hodgepodge dinner, and from St. Paul we got two orders of the crab cakes (delicious and moist), an order of the fried calamari (came with cocktail sauce and the mayo? sauce which is amazing), 12 oysters (6 Blue Point fresh water, and 6 Irish saltwater), a daiquiri, a Point soda, and a fountain soda, and the bill was about $64. Everything tasted fresh and had great textures. The food came quickly. I've also had the fish fry (fried cod) and it's the best I've ever had (both the fish AND the breading had good flavor and texture which, for me, has been rare to find).
Mike L
Hello. First time eatting here. I had lunch with my son. We enjoyed everything. Started with shark bites
They were very tasty. My son had the highly recommended lobster
Roll. I went with a fish fry. Must say everything was very good. Will be back with rest of family. 👍👍
Also want to thank David the waiter. Great service.
Jerry Chen
Delicious seafood spot located within the Milwaukee Public Market with assorted fresh fish and crustaceans to purchase or consume there. The prices are solid and the seafood quality has never disappointed the five or so times I've eaten here.
Amanda George
I love seafood and this little joint serves up some wicked seafood options! I had the seafood ceviche, oysters (blue point and something hill), king crab, shark and a lobster Bloody Mary. The food was amazing! Definitely would come back next time I’m in town.
LaTasha Smith
If u want so fresh I mean fresh seafood you come here you wouldn't be mad, excellent service, food, drinks
Jeffrey Chiang
Lobster roll and lobster bisque are excellent. The setup though, is really cramped, and there's not a lot of room to form a line if you order to go. Service is ok, but not stellar: they pretty much just want to get you in and out. Definitely not the friendliest, BUT, they usually are pretty busy.
Joe C
If you're looking for a fantastic lobster roll this is the place. This place is located in the Milwaukee Public Market which is a busy place. Be prepared for a lot of people and some wait time.
April Shipherd
The lobster roll was so tasty! Gumbo was incredible too! Even tried oysters for the first time and really enjoyed it :)
R V
The line was crazy long and no seating was avaliable. While that was disappointing, it spoke the the quality of the product. We got take-out and it was worth it. Excellent fish. A must-try.
Diana Gonzalez
You'll be amazed to try the best clam chowder soup and can't deny the squid steak. Drink a Tito's mule at the outside bar. They have fast service and great music. You'll thank me later.
Shelly Broyhill
The food was excellent and so was our server. Definitely a great place to get delicious real seafood!!
John Otto K
Very excellent fresh 👌 scallops! Nice fun atmosphere I recomend eating in the back area! Super cute and nice lighting! …
September Nelson
Never disappointed. I try to come here at least once a month for fresh oysters and a daiquiri or bloody Mary. I wish I could give this place a Michelin star, it deserves it.
Robert Beierle
Best Lobster Roll in the city! Always hot and fresh, and served super fast if you're in a hurry! Amazing every time!
Boyd Anderson
Try the 🦞 Lobster Roll. I did and was not disappointed. The clam chowder was good too with a good kick of flavor.
Doug Powell
Shy of going to the coast this is the best seafood joint I've been too. And even then St Paul would give most of them a run for their money
The menu is simple and not the least but pretentious. The food is straight forward, delicious, and fresh.
I highly recommend the steamed clams and mussels as well as the fresh oysters of the day. Don't forget a fresh draft Schlitz or Red Stripe to wash it down
Ashley M
Love getting the blackened catfish dinner. Salads are also very good. Service is always prompt.
Keith Schroeder
We went to St. Paul Fish Co. specifically for the boiled lobster dinner. It came fresh and hot and was very good and reasonably priced for lobster ($24.95, one pound). We also tried the oyster shots and deep fried oysters, both excellent. It was easy to tell that the seafood was fresh. Busy on a Friday night but service was good.
Alan Harlow
Delicious, fun, mid-afternoon lunch with coworkers! My two colleagues and I enjoyed great food, adult beverages and friendly service! This was my first visit to downtown Milwaukee, and my colleagues knew and had visited the Milwaukee Public Market and St. Paul's during other trips to the city. On their excellent advice, and gracious invitation to join, the three of us headed to the Milwaukee Public Market and devoured a tasty late lunch at St. Paul's. The ladies ordered lobster rolls, which they had been discussing and craving days prior to our visit. I'm not a fan of seafood, but I love tuna. Therefore, I ordered the tuna melt sandwich with chips and pickle. Awesome sandwich!! For those of you like myself, whom may not care for seafood, St. Paul's has other menu options available which don't include seafood. However, as the name suggests, St. Paul's is regarded highly for their seafood. My colleagues enjoyed an adult beverage; one had a beer and the other a bloody Mary. The bloody Mary was the most extravagant beverage I have ever seen; it include a lobster tail and strips of fish as a garnish. Amazing. I'm not a drinker, but I was totally impressed! The service was great and server very friendly. St. Paul's is located inside the Milwaukee Public Market, a really interesting and fun place to visit. Again, although not a fan of seafood, I must give St. Paul's Fish Company my highest recommendation for a delicious lunch experience!
Jim Coach Krupke
Super cool place in the 3rd Ward! ALWAYS fantastic food and GREAT service. AMAZING seafood! Go for the oyster po boy
Erica Kolb
My husband and I have been dining here for over a decade, and the service and food is consistently top notch! The oysters are superb and the Bloody Mary’s are a must. We’ve dined here hundreds of times and have never been disappointed. It’s refreshing to see a restaurant take such pride in what they do, and never lower their standards even after being hit hard by Covid. Do yourself a favor and eat at St. Paul’s the next time you’re in Milwaukee! (And don’t eat at Margarita Paradise)
Brenda Seal
Snagged a seat at the bar and ordered the lobster dinner! Beautifully cooked lobster and well worth the economical price of $16.95!
Lorrie Medina
Everything was delicious. Best Lobster Roll we've ever had!
Jim Jacobs
Whether seated inside the market or manage to get a coveted barstool at the tiki bar, this seafood restaurant is one of the best in Milwaukee.
The famous grilled fish dinners come with generous portions of grilled vegetables. Highly recommend the king crab legs too!
Pictured: bloody mary with lobster claw and beer chaser
Gene Lemke
I had a tuna steak sandwich. It was good but nothing special.
Lynae Ratzell
I always get the oysters and I love them! I’ve gotten a po boy in the past and was not impressed. So some misses but also some great hits!
Darcie Trunkel
Lobster tail bloody Mary and the most amazing seafood stew St Paul Tiki market public market Milwaukee
Jeb Rach
The food here is quite tasty! Been here twice now when visiting Milwaukee and both times the fish was very tasty. I did trout once and smelt the other time, and I'd recommend both, though I preferred the smelt personally.
Dr. Anntoinettemarie Williams
Super busy yet awesome sea food. Friendly staff great location. Patrick is the best
Mason Tyler
Always a good time. Usually come here at least once a month. Best lobster roll in town
Shelton Freddy
Tried the fried catfish, calamari, lobster rolls and oysters and for a reasonable price and tasted so good
Igor Podhorodecki
Very, very nice place to eat at public market!
Erick
Famous for their lobster roll and no kidding, it's damn delicious! Start with the oysters, come for the lobster!
david pankiewicz
Favorite quick lunch stop. Gumbo, chowder and lobster bisque with a few oysters is the quick go to.
Best place to get fresh scallops. Don't forget to get a little pastrami cured salmon for breakfast the next day.
Jon Valcq
Had great lobster rolls and fresh oysters from the oyster bar. One of the best lunches I have had in a long time. Next time we will have to try the oyster shooters, saw a few going out and they looked tempting.
Solisfran Solis
Had the BEST grilled halibut with veggies I've ever had.
Josh O
Best lobster roll and oysters in town!
mark parish
Service was immediate. Asked us at least 4 times if we needed anything. The food was exquisite
Oliver Wever
Great flavor, good selection and service was good. Lots of smiles from there staff.
Monique Mitchell
Went on weekend. Was told a 50 minute wait. Spoke with attendant. She decided she would argue with me about how long she told me, rude!
Waited over an hour while four other groups went before us because they had larger groups.
Never go on the weekends.
Lynn Hoffmann
First time here. Clams were amazing. Bartenders exceptional. We will definitely be back!
Jim Ward
Excellent service. Shrimp.cocktail was a large serving.
Andrew Miranda
You can get anything you want here, highly recommend the enclosed outside bar and try the oysters.
Wesley Miles
The oysters here are as good or better, and almost always cheaper than almost anywhere I've been. I can think of serval times that I've been on the coasts, excited to get fresh, local oysters, only to be very disappointed.
We've been coming here since they opened* at the market- that's (literally) a few hundred times over close to 20(??) years. Everything is CONSISTENTLY TOP NOTCH.
My favorite "deep cut" is the calamari steak. I love seafood and have never had similar preparation or quality anywhere else.
Oh- and great staff. They know their seafood and will help you pick out a dish or choose from their 5-8 daily oyster menu with patience and zero pretentiousness. (Same goes for buying fresh from the case to take home). Special shout out to Patrick. There are others who have built SPFC into the busy landmark we see today, but his near constant smile, humor, and service make this place so unique.
*(For the staff- We started when our kids were infants or toddlers, now college students, with Linda and Evan. Thank you all for how well you treat her. We're more sporadic now, but always treasure grabbing a fish fry and a beer with her at the counter.)
Clay L
Incredible food. Decent prices. the servers will however require a couple to sit at a two seat table despite there being others open. Some take no nonsense and will rudely argue with customers, this was not my experience but I witnessed it firsthand
Tyler T
Love their lobster roll. Can't go wrong with getting food and drinks from this place or their Mequon location.
Danuel Lindale
Good service. Good food, the oyster shooters is an absolute must have anytime we're here. Only gripe I have is how expensive the smoked fish behind the glass costed. 30.00/lb? Come on...
Val Ulicki
I love this place and have since it opened. They're selection is always great and their seafood is top quality. I think the surf clam plate is highly under-rated, and the lobster roll shouldn't be missed. I don't think I've had anything there that I didn't enjoy.
The salmon crack is especially good, though the idea of sweet smoked fish sounds odd at first.
Stephen Williams
If you are in Milwaukee and want the freshest seafood available, St Paul Fish Company is the only place to go! I really enjoy this place. The food is great! It's not just a bunch of fried mess like most Midwest seafood. The variety is awesome! You will always find something new to try. Get there early!!!!
mike krukowski
This place is a fun place too meet people in the Third Ward for great real estate conversation, to do business or just to have a good time -- AMAZING SEA FOOD -- best in Milwaukee?
Amy A
Went there yesterday, 1st time. The place was jam packed. Food was good, but over all the background noise, all I could hear were the bartenders at the oyster bar $h!t talk one of their co-workers about how he was doing XYZ and getting paid to shuck oysters. Take it to your boss or take it to the back room. The overall experience was a zero, but the food was excellent.
Malek Abdel-Fattah
Eat in or pick up fresh seafood to go. Great oysters, fish tacos, calamari, etc. Specials each day (such as one buck shuck on Thursdays). A great loaded bloody mary with their famous salmon crack. Service at the bar can be a little mixed at times, especially when they are busy shocking oysters.
Kevin Stock
Great food and great staff. Sit at the outside bar if you can! You won't regret it.
Denise
Great seafood at reasonable prices. Had fish and chips, was very good! The oysters were fresh too! Get a number when you get there to get a table. May have to wait.
Anastasia Capetillo
Best Lobster Roll outside of Maine. I come up from Chicago to pick up some shellfish for my boil from them. Great bloody Mary's too!!!
D’ion Harris
The food is good and so is the service. I felt welcomed when we walked in and since it was our first time there, they gave us a free appetizer. The bay scallop bites are delicious. Only con is that I ordered a salad and received a plate full of white iceberg lettuce core pieces. The server took it off the bill though. I highly recommend this place.
Bryce Caster
You can order pretty much any type of seafood you could want, but the move is the lobster roll! Unlike the traditional rolls in New England which are steeped in butter, this one comes with a mayo-type sauce that is delicious.
Gerald S
Despite how busy the restaurant was and how close it was to closing, I was seated quickly and didn't wait longer than 15min to get my food. Now, when I got my food, I enjoyed every single bite and knew I had to return again. Great service, Great food! Pictured is the Tilapia po-bough. As a Filipino, I knew I had to try their Tilapia and it was good!
roz tornatore
my family and i used to love to go to st.paul's fish market to eat. well, to be honest, i used to love to go and they loyally joined me. we went on 2/25 in honor of my sister, who passed away in januaary, but for the last three years gave us a gift to the fish market. i was disappointed. i remember when the lobster dinner was $13.95. okay, a long time ago. now the dinner is $25. with water logged corn( i didn't get the potatoes). i would have much preferred the french fries and cold slaw of yore. but what really made me unhappy was the male server who didn't know what gin or what wine the market carried and then was close to being arrogant in not knowing. it will be a long time before i go back which will make my granddaughter unhappy-she loves the mussels. have to say i do buy fish at the fish market and that's just fine.
holly baumel
They may be known for their lobster rolls (yes, very good) but the parmesan crusted calamari steak was the best meal I've had in a long time. We'll be back soon!
Zane Franceschi
We only had drinks outside but the food looked amazing and the service and vibe were great!
Candy B.Sexy1
I LUV the fresh Maine Lobster, Calamari, Mussels & Shrimp!! Good size portions, so I always have leftovers. This is my go-go Downtown Seafood places, plus I visit other vendors & stop for a Cocktail. My Sister-In-Law introduced me here because I would bypass it yrs ago.
Dave Lyons
Stopped by the market today for a bite to eat and was not disappointed with St. Paul Fish Company. Only took a few minutes to get our party of 2 seated and I started off with a cup of New England Clam Chowder. It was served with a small package of oyster crackers - soup was spot on - yummy. Next up was a lobster roll. Bun slightly toasted, generous portion of lobster salad - delish. Everything I saw looked delicious. I will definitely come back. Waiting for a table it was hard not to gawk at the fresh fish and oyster bar. Will save that for the next trip.
James M. Cocroft
The food was great. The only drawback is space for seating. Because it is at the MKE Public Market
Foodprints
No-frills seafood with a fresh reliable shellfish supply. Perfect for a quick lobster fix.
Kristi George
Lobster roll was so good! Our waiter was super friendly too!
Mason Lugo
Always a good time. Good quality food, best lobster roll in town
Raimo Karhunen
Enjoyed this place. Good food, inside a lively market. The three of us shared a few different dishes, and enjoyed them all
Gina Lawton
Definitely a great stop for seafood. You can't go wrong here. We enjoyed our sandwiches and the gumbo. Bonus if you get a Bloody Mary with candied salmon and a crab claw. Also, try and get Patrick as your server. He was seriously the most friendly and helpful server you could ask for! Definitely will be back.
Luruu
It's affordable seafood. Clam chowder was kinda too thin. Other than that it was good.
Dan Rivera
Super yummy pina colada !
Great, friendly service. Good tunes. Nice place to grab a drink or three on an easy Sunday night. Thanks for all folks ! Dan and Lisett
Angelo Karasmanakis
I must for driving through Milwaukee or need a quick lunch bite to eat ! LOBSTA Roll!!!
Henrique G. Abreu
Even though the market was quite full today. It was reasonably fast to get a table, order and enjoy. Food and beer were awesome.
Alberto Hernandez
Great experience, very fresh sea food. And Patrick was super nice to us. I highly recommend
Rawad Elias
Located inside the Public Market building.
Fresh seafood, reasonably priced, friendly and attentive staff...what else can you ask for??
sandi Landowski
Have never had a bad meal here. Expect to wait unless you're there right at opening. They do give you a buzzer once you get on the waiting list so you can look around at the other vendors in the market. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We have a daughter in a wheelchair and they always accommodate us so we aren't in anyone's way, nor is she getting bummed into.
Laurie Johnson
We have been here a couple times and just love this place. They are set up for social distancing and masks required, so we felt totally safe.
Today we started with the oysters. Our waiter/bartender helped us pick two different types of oysters to try and both were perfect. They prepare them right at the bar. Presented sitting on ice with a lemon, horseradish and seafood sauce. We also had crackers and hot sauce. So amazing. I was doing the Gordin Ramsey happy dance in my seat while eating those yummy treats. Then we split the crab roll. It was on a delicious buttery toasted bread and was fabulous, so much crab! The fries and coleslaw were also perfect. Cant wait until we go back again.
Christina Gateley
Soooo much Lobster deliciousness and a delightful Black Cherry Point Premium soda to wash it down... fantastic food and great service too! Come check it out!
Napaporn Riabroy
Great selection of fresh seafood. Friendly service. Highly recommend.
Shelton L
Very reasonable prices and good seafood
Really good breading on fried items. We ate here twice in 1 day
M
St Paul Fish is where we always end up for dinner when dining in Milwaukee. Their prices are reasonable and they make a great margarita! I highly recommend the calamari steak or any fresh fish on the menu!
Sarah Johnson
It causes me pain to have this as a review because I'm a long time fan of St. Paul Fish Co. They normally are one of the best spots in Milwaukee and a phenomenal food experience. That said, the last couple times I've been there, within 2 months time, the service has been really bad and gone downhill. If you don't sit at the oyster bar and are eating in the restaurant, the wait staff tends to have lost their touch. No one appears to look happy to be there, and it shows in the level of service. The staff are dismissive and spend time talking to one another on the side rather than refilling drinks or bringing food to the table. It took them about 20-25 minutes to bring a dozen oysters out. (Normally that would take them 10-15 during rush hour.) The oysters all had chunks of shell, not at all like the perfectly shucked oysters they once served. It really feels like the staff are unhappy to be there, and it really shows in the whole experience. At the oyster bar, they are super attentive, friendly, on point, and fast. I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you're going to maximize your overall experience if you are able. I will definitely go back to give them a shot again in the future, but I'm going to give it some time to see if it is just a fluke right now during COVID.

My wife and I had lunch at the St. Paul Fish Company for the first time on her birthday (her request), we are pleasantly surprised. If you love seafood and are in Milwaukee, WI you MUST go to this restaurant (market/bazaar).
Nicholaus Hoover
Amazing fresh fish. Great outdoor bar that is very dog friendly!
Joseph “DEALZ” Hart
Absolutely the best lobster roll ever had.
Service was absolutely perfect
Definitely be back for more
Chien-Po Wang
Lobster roll is realllly good. And fair price.
Clam chowder soup is also rich inside.
Nadia Callahan
I decided to stop in today for to go, because I had heard so many wonderful things about their lobster roll and let me just say I was not disappointed! It was PACKED with perfectly cooked lobster meat and everything was seasoned perfectly. The place was slammed when I arrived, but the staff was on top of it and attentive to all the customers. Can’t wait to come back here for dinner soon!
Squirrel Thomson
Love it for what it is, casual dining, perfectly prepared fish with the ambiance (and side dishes) of a diner. Fun!

Let me preface this review with a little background of myself. I'm a former Executive Chef who started his career almost 30 years ago at local restaurant by the name of Crawaddy's. If you are of age and from these parts you knew the restaurant and what it was about - good seafood and real creole/cajun cooking. I have since moved on and opened an IT business but I still love to cook and eat good food...which is really hard to find these days along with good service.
I had really high hopes for this place, my wife knows I love seafood and she and a friend had eaten down there a few weeks prior. Her friend had the "famous" lobster roll and absolutely loved it. I live in Mukwonago so downtown Milwaukee isn't exactly down the street.
It's Saturday afternoon around 4pm, restaurant is full but not busy, and I'm ordering carryout for me and my daughters, this is what we ordered:
Lobster Rolls
Crab Cakes
Fried Shrimp
Fried Oysters
Fried Clam Strips
Shrimp and Sausage "Gumbo"
Clam Chowder
Lobster Rolls - The good - nice portion of lobster, not too much of the fatty claw meat. The bad, prepped too early, lobster took on the scallion(onion) flavor from sitting together too long. Not terribly wet, but a little less mayonnaise would have been nice, too much bread for the portion size - please see first critique - all that bread wasn't necessary, a smaller bun would have made the sandwich look properly portioned.
Crab Cakes - Nothing good about these at all - all bread crumbs, crab meat was had to find, over use of Old Bay (or similar) seasoning, and deep fried. This recipe needs to be thrown out and start over again. Raise the price if you have to, I'd rather pay more for a real crab cake that's sauteed in clarified butter than pay for whatever that was.
Fried Oysters - Not bad, reasonably priced and nice, clean flavor. Needs a little more salt/pepper in the breading process and they needed to be breaded a little more carefully, somebody grabbed a handful, threw them in the breading and didn't sift them properly. Had a bunch clumped together.
Clam Strips - Please see above critique of the Fried oysters
Clam Chowder - This is a tough one, I love clam chowder, spent years making it every Friday and I know how tough it is to get the consistency correct as well as flavor and color. On top of that you have to keep it consistent for the duration of service that night. This clam chowder was off by quite a bit, clam to potato ratio was off in the favor of potatoes and it was spicy - too much white pepper leaving a harsh after taste after each bite and it made the soup have an unappealing gray color. Needs work, not the worst I've had(that one had carrots in it) but someone needs to find a classic recipe and start there.
Shrimp/Sausage Gumbo - Nowhere near what a gumbo needs to taste like, I'm not even going to into the color because anyone who has a gumbo knows how hard it is to make a dark roux without burning it.
You can have a lighter colored gumbo and get the flavor right. This didn't have any flavor, with the exception of awful Gumbo File - which is part of the recipe but just a pinch, and flour. There is a better way to do this soup - keep a pot of gumbo base (just the soup with vegetables ) and the sausage/shrimp separate. Makes the whole process a lot easier and the soup looks incredibly appealing. Whatever you do the current recipe needs to be scrapped and start over again.
Now mind you..recipes could be good and it's just a matter of poor/under-skilled execution. Either way it's not good for a restaurant to have either of those things.
I really hope this restaurant can get the bugs fixed, you have a captive audience because there isn't many seafood restaurants in Milwaukee. With that said people will only be disappointed so many times before they stop coming back. Good luck.
Terry Spiegler
Great oysters , poor boy sandwiches, crab and grilled fish dinners. Always fun , always packed with happy diners. Tasty tasty. Don't miss this place if you are in Millaukee.
That's Gold
Small seating area and for lunch it can get busy. Had oysters and tuna steak sandwich they were good. Food came out quickly.
Tina Isenring
The food was good the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice and relaxed
Ed Dellarso
St. Pauls offers a delicious and quick bite of seafood to people who don’t won’t mind the shabby street food, bar-by-the-sea ambience. There are lobster rolls and then there are St Pauls lobster rolls. I would eat here time and time again. I was pleased by the servers who are more dedicated to serving quickly rather than pampering their customers with a facade of respectfulness.
Diane Healy
The Seafood Bloody Mary's are great. Staff friendly and helpful.
Debbie Payette
Fabulous Lobster Boil!
Great service and atmosphere.
Daniel Q
10/10 oysters and lobster roll are to try for.
Charles Raine
Excellent king crab roll, crab legs and blue point oysters!
Maria Fernanda Gomez
Great food and great service. Will be coming back for sure!
Amanda Jackson
Growing up in the New England area and now living in Madison, this place really brought me home with the amazing seafood they offer. The lobstah roll as we call it back home definitely can be up there with the Boston roll. Anyways, we order the lobster roll, steamed mussels/clams, and calamari to go and all of it made it to Madison nicely warm. The lobster roll made it to Madison without soaking the roll itself. Impressive! Definitely would come back but would recommend to call ahead for order!
Jennifer Zuniga
Bloody Mary salmon crack and pan fried walleye were both delicious and reasonably priced! Great service too!
Joseph Wright
Little tight around there for a big truck, but Great place to deliver to. Great people work there 👍 👏 💪. …
Otap Marcoschua
Seafood delight! Everyday lobster dinner for $15.95 is awesome! Their grilled walleye pike was the best!
T
Oh Lord, if you're looking for some bomb seafood that will kick you in the mouth, look no further. The dine in area is small (and you get to be elbow buddies with the table next to you), the staff is fast and curtious, and the food is fantastic. Last year I had a craving for the lobster roll that fell along the lines of drug withdrawal since I didn't leave to go anywhere the entire rest of the year for dining out. 4/5, one star loss because I wasn't comfortable being elbow buddies with the table next to me.
Doron Ben-David
The hype behind this place was too big. Overall, we had good sea food, but nothing unique.
DJ Foster
First time to the Public Market and we we’re very impressed with this restaurant! Service was great and the food was as fresh as it gets. Highly recommend and worth any wait!
Durga Natesan
Took a detour of about 50 miles in our long trip to experience the best fish dishes taste again.
William Fisher
The garlic steamed mussels are outstanding. Pricier than your average fish restaurant, but you’ll know why when you dig in. Everything is outstanding.
Douglas Keyes
Had lunch there last Saturday. It was the first time out for us since the shutdown and it was perfect. They did a great job spacing out the tables and adding plastic barriers, but it wasn't odd. it worked nice. We had the lobster rolls and they were top notch. This is coming from a guy who grew up on Cape Cod in the summers. At 16 bucks it is a great value. Our waiter Patrick was terrific. Could not ask for a better waiter. Thanks for the birthday beer!
Cameron Banaszak
Went to get my lobster roll fix today for lunch and was disappointed my the new changes to the the recipe if was great before not so much any more staff was still very nice
Nicole Magnusson
Always a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful and we are never disappointed with the quality of the food. We usually buy from the seafood counter and cook at home but we love eating at the oyster bar as a treat.
The area can get a little bottlenecked with traffic and people waiting but it's worth it.
Juan Delgado
How have I lived 40 minutes away my whole life and never been here.
Salmon Pastrami, fresh oysters (large variety) the best . Great service, fast and friendly. Amazing emtrees like geeze its so good. Key west pinks yummm....the gumbo is Dumbo good.
Very affordable!!!
Kyle McHugh
This place is one of my favorite spots for lunch in all of Milwaukee. Absolutely unbelievable selection of FRESH seafood. If you are dining in i highly recommend the crab cakes. One thing I do every time i eat there is get seafood for the road as well. They sell seafood by the pound there. If you are looking for something extremely tasty on the go try the smoked salmon, it is a real treat!
Dillon Freilinger
I love this place. The bar outside always has super fun bartenders who still work hard. The food is fantastic! I would not expect this good of seafood in Milwaukee, I prefer it over the fancier places like Harbor Bay. From the basic fish fry to their lobster it's all quality fish and cooked well. It is often busy so plan ahead but always worth the wait. The lobster is something you or your group needs to get one of, it's the signature dish and does not let down.
richard williams
Always good and fresh. Excellent server ( Carolyn? ).
Jeff Smith
Had the walleye dinner and it was phenomenal! Also I strongly suggest their shrimp with cocktail sauce. The other people in my group had the grouper dinner, the grouper cheeks fish tacos, and the fried shrimp dinner. Everyone was very pleased with their food. I strongly suggest trying out St. Paul's if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed 😉
Jacki Stevens
Best fish fry around! Portions are huge and the wait is generally under 15 minutes. Shows you how fresh they are!
Jordan Milsho
Delicious! We had a party of 5, all got different things, and all of them were great. Buffalo grouper and beer battered fish were our top picks!
Melinda Gladney
My favorites...oysters and pan fried walleye.
Amber Jones
Went with my boyfriend, it was my first visit to the public market. We got the Buffalo grouper cheeks starter to share *chefs kiss* I had the clam poboy sandwich with fries and my boyfriend had the lake perch basket with fries. Both were fresh, hot and delicious! Our server was David and let me tell you: 10/10!! He was attentive, had great recommendations, friendly, took the time to chat with us. Basically a fantastic server!! We'll definitely return during our next visit to the market!
Jason Easterman
One of the best Bloody Mary’s ever!! Comes with a whole lobster claw and other things for a perfectly ridiculous drink! Also boiled shrimp for $8 a 1/2 pound and oyster shooters with Schlitz beer chasers.
Cj Hanks
This place is exactly as advertised! Cozy little dining area and u can eat outside pending weather of course.
The lobster roll was fresh and plentiful. I wish I’d had room for a $17.95 lobster dinner. I’m from New England and this was great! I’ll definitely go back! The entire market place inside and out is refreshing.
Gina Mottier
Ordered Walleye fish fry for Friday's special, and the fish was over fried and tasteless. Very greasy too. Kind of disappointed in a place that should be expert in fish fry. The clam chowder was excellent though. Best I ever had!
Eve Alexeev
The food is great! And the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever tried!
Ja l
We were in Milwaukee for a car show and found this place. The Public Market is a great cultural food experience with all the different little stores within the market, but the St Paul Fish Market was an excellent find.
We had the special that you just don't find anywhere else for the price. A whole Main Lobster meal with all the trimmings. It was fabulous!!! Yes, we had a little wait, but it was well worth it. We also had their signature Bloody Mary that was just crazy good. It was almost a seafood dinner in itself.
I would make this a destination place again if I/we were traveling this way again. We live in Duluth, MN.
Brian Kucaj
It's really a neat place to check out! The food is really good very friendly staff clean place
Narathip Ketthab
Nice atmosphere. Staff are great, and the food are fantastic.
L G
One of the best cod fish frys I have had. Light flaky batter, coleslaw, and a lot of fries are included for $11.95. Good value. If you don't like paying tips you can take it in a box to go and eat it at tables set up outdoors with a great view of the Historic Third Ward.
Sarah Bartel
This is my Happy Place! I look forward to our next delicious adventure!!!
Kevin Howard
We had a wonderful seafood meal here. I had Alaskan halibut and my dad had the swordfish. Delicious! No fishy taste. Superb with a buttery cream sauce and veggies on the side.
Brittany S
Their lobster tail Bloody Mary is delicious, buttery lobster rolls, and scrumptious catfish po-boys. Always busy, for a reason!
Kayla Offenbecher
The food was amazing. They had oysters by the half shell that were well priced and a wide selection of seafood on their regular menu. My friend had the salmon sandwich with grilled salmon and fresh cooked spinach on it; She absolutely loved it and regretted that she had to leave some behind because the sandwich was so big. I had the red grouper fish fry and it was cooked perfectly with a batter that made it light and crispy. The gumbo was not all that spicy, but a bit of Louisiana hot sauce and it was fabulous! Our server was very friendly, helped us by answering all of our questions, and was very timely from start to finish. We can't wait to go back!
Kat Spofford
The crab legs were awesome! Good slaw and fries too.
Teresa Benson
My daughter and I made a special visit to introduce my granddaughter to a family favorite. The fun market atmosphere and snug seating never fails to provide a great Milwaukee experience. I personally liked the divider wall that was added to shield seating from the opening and closing of doors and from the main foot traffic. The service was exceptional; everyone was accommodating and so helpful in situating us with our toddler. The food was always was fresh and flavorful. We shared oysters and each had lobster rolls for our meals. Of course we couldn't pass up Bloody Mary's! The beverages complete with chasers topped off a fantastic Saturday lunch. Always reccomend to friends and visitors.
Ritankar Mandal
Had the lobster dinner. It was amazing. Full with people in weekends. You may have to wait a bit for a table in weekends.
Seth Duhnke
My wife and I ate here last week in one of our first sit-down dinners since the pandemic. I was not too happy that what appeared to be only fish nets separating the tables, however, once we were seated I noticed the fish nets were just some cute decorations over see through plastic barriers that provided a fantastic boundary. The food, without doubt was terrific and the staff was their usual funny, sensitive and quick.
S Z
Awesome Lobster Bloody and grouper to die for!!
Melissa
Bloody Mary with a Lobster Claw in it. Fast paced, good service, friendly very busy staff. Amazing shucking oysters at record speed. They fly their seafood in daily. Prices are very reasonable. Love the whole lobster dinner. Scallops are cooked to perfection. Quick easy in, fill the belly and out with fresh seafood to cook at home. Cool place.
teresa beck
Best seafood around! Fresh oysters always delicious. Great service. I always buy fresh fish to take home
Janice Lynch
I can't get enough of this place! It's one of my favorite places to go and get some delicious seafood. I love oysters on the half shell and whenever my mom comes to town this is one of the first places we go. You can't go wrong with their lobster dinner it's absolutely amazing, and all of the beautiful fish that they offer it's amazing! The lobster roll and tuna melt are some of our favorites!!! And did I mention the amazing Bloody Mary's OMG superb! I definitely suggest getting the one with the lobster claw and the candied Salmon, it's so mouthwatering and delicious you can't go wrong. The only thing I can find wrong is that they don't have more restaurants around town. Although I heard that they might be opening a second store!?!?!?
Michael Mack
Great service and fun atmosphere. Food is fresh 👍 …
Anna Goldstein
I love their lobster roll and their awesome/fun Bloody Mary with a crab claw! I love eating outside - it feels like a tropical vacation when it's warm, or like an igloo when the ice sculpture/bar is up. Very busy, but the bartenders and servers love their job and are fun to talk to. Their salmon crack is seriously addicting. Very fresh seafood.
Catherine Koch
Oh how I love St. Paul Fish! Oyster shooters are bomb. Shark bites are delish. Lobster dinner is spot on and delish. Whether sitting at the bar or at a table, you'll have a great experience because the staff is fantastic.
Todd
Great seafood selection here! I love the oysters, but I’ve also had a pretty decent lobster here. I’m from the Boston area originally, so I am pretty picky about my seafood. This is one of the places I trust to get it right.
Jou Xiong
Great food always. I love coming here. I recommend the lobster roll. It’s totally worth it. The wait is long but the service and food is worth it
Bill McMasters
So read several less than favorable reviews but was determined to try a lobster roll. When we walked up to the counter a pleasant gentleman asked if we wanted to sit in or out ( it was just before noon) ,we opted for the bar outside. Bartender was fine. Liquor selection basic. Had the lobster roll, New England clam and fried calamari. All very good. Lobster roll was loaded with meat. Nothing else. Good roll. Calamari crisp and tender. Descent portions. It was a beautiful day and being outside was perfect. Did not snap a picture but the lobster roll looked just as advertised.
Pam Stevens
Food and customer service was great!
Mike Waldron
Fabulous lunch, Shrimp Po Boy and Lobster with Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo. Soup was so good I took a quart to go. Make sure you get parking validation, I didn't and had to pay.
Nicole Johnson
This is a great place to visit. Love the variety of shops they have. The Mexican restaurant is over tans the service was awful. The server got up set because I complained about the chips being old. She snatched them back but ledges the cheese. When I asked could they take that off the bill as well she got even more upset. Mind you the very small container of cheese was $6.00
Other than that all the other stores are wonderful.
Manuel Vivas
Had a great experience here. I ordered the beer battered fried cod as well as a side order of fried kalamari. Wish I had taken a photograph, but the portions were huge espeicsply considering the price and food was cooked in a timely manner. Ordered my food to go and was given a buzzer to inform me of when the food was done, which is a smart idea so I am not stuck waiting around.
Liz Claudio
Had their simple tuna melt and it was fab. Even the fries were good! Crispy, salted to perfection.
Mark Buhler
Incredible seafood quality at a price point that can not be beat. By far the best seafood "Dive" . Stopped by the Mequon location and had Dan wait on me at the bar. He was a true professional and even guided me to a great pour of Blantons bourbon to go with our 30 DOLLAR king crab and whole Lobster seafood boil with every crustacean included! Walked out with a healthy portion of smoked salmon. Some of the best ive had! This is a must stop.
Megan Casebolt
Lobster roll and shrimp Po boy were awesome sandwiches, the lobster bisque soup had either gone bad throughout the day or was just the most disgusting recipe of all time. I went up and asked them if it was the correct soup and they said it was. It tasted like coffee grounds and the water the live lobster were in mixed together. Sandwiches were awesome though. Just for your own good, avoid the soup.
Connie Iacono
Also this is Milwaukee Public Market ! So much to see, do, eat, drink and buy! Many different types of markets inside including but limited to meat all types, seafood all types, wine and cheese all types, candies and restaurants! Love this place!
Matt Olson
If you have never been here, you dont know what you missing. Freshest seafood in Milwaukee!
Csilla Kelemen
Never disappoint.
Always fresh good food.
M 2
Ah-mazing lobster roll set!!Full of lobsters inside:)
Ed Sahagian-Allsopp
Wide variety of fresh fish and a nice menu in their restaurant.
Dawn Alter
Visited just before happy hour with a few girlfriends. Sat outside at the tiki bar. This place was busy for late afternoon! Had a very strong Margarita and my friends had a variety of mixed drinks and champagne selections. We also got a few appetizers to share. The service was great considering how busy they were, everyone checked in on us, even during shift changes. Great place for a quick bite and cocktail. Will have to visit again and have a full meal. I'd recommend!
Viviana Bojorquez
I had not eaten here before today but have always wanted to try it. The grilled salmon sandwich is to die for!!! It is so hard to win me over on food. This place really did a great job. I will be back for more! They also have a huge variety of foods- including octopus which I’ve never seen before!
Beth Rad
It's nice to have a place to go to get a really good lobster roll. And while you're waiting for them to prepare that, be sure to check out the chocolate, wine, and cheese that you can buy at the other shops. I love going to this place.
Lucas Beseke
Had the walleye fry. Large portion of fish generous portion of fries. Tasted great!
Eric Duchesneau
Heard nothing but good things about the lobster roll so I had to try it for myself. Wow am I glad I did. Absolutely phenomenal! The toasted roll, fries, coleslaw. Everything was incredible!
Ana Botello
Food was delicious, but took a really long time. It's a small place and super crowded. Honestly best to order to go than to wait for a table. Points down because it was so hectic to order. Otherwise, delicious and fairly priced.
Anaida Carquez
Best lobster roll ever eaten! Fresh, savory, generous quantity, accompanied with hot, crunchy and real french fries and coleslaw. Second time in Milwaukee and we couldn't miss St. Paul Fish Company at the Milwaukee Public Market. If you're in town you shouldn't miss it: it's a must!
Dwight Hill
Well worth our 45 minute wait. Clam chowder and lobster bisque was amazing, best 16.99 lobster dinner around here, my fiance got the king crab dinner and they were delicious. Our waitress did a great job, we will be back time and time again.
Mikhail Mukhin
Always fresh and delicious, can be a bit of a wait but well worth it. One thing for sure, can not beat the price for what you get.
John Panik
Had Sunday brunch meal there to celebrate my sister in laws 68th birthday today. The staff and owner were very very cordial to our requests. Our server, Patrick, is a true professional. My father said to me that no matter what job you have do it to the best of your ability and be professional. Patrick is an example of this and more. The owner worked with us so we could surprise my sister in law. Above and Beyond.
And the food was great too. We had muscles, three different kinds of fish fry, crab cake, salmon crack. Oysters too. Thanks guys. See you soon.
Zain Ali
Love the fish sandwiches, fish tastes fresh but slighly overpriced and seating is difficult to find on a weekend. But totally worth checking out if you’re in the Market
Anna Haas
Good prices, got one of each of the daily options. Quick service, in and out in under 15 min
Scott Werner
Super helpful and quality seafood at reasonable prices.
Cody Dubose
This place is great loved it the food to die for.
Jan
If you love seafood definitely try this place
Scott Perreault
This is a review of the Milwaukee Public Market and Saint Paul Fish Company. What an amazing place. I have visited other markets squares in the USA and they do not live up to this space. The shops offer a variety from desserts and meats to seafood, oils and so much more. What stood out to me were the prices. Very reasonable. Every shop was affordable. It was safe, police patrolling, it was fun with the so many options in a the perfect sized space. Parking in the large lot next to the door is free for the first hour. The subsequent hours are only a couple bucks. Again no price gouging. As for the Saint Paul Fish Company... WOW. The oyster bar is fantastic. Low prices and great quality. You watch them open the fresh oysters for your order. The restaurant can be busy, so prepare to wait 30 thirty minutes as they do no take reservations, but the food comes out of the kitchen fast. The lobster roll for $15 is a must. The fries are great too. The Deep fried shrimp were perfect. I want more as I write this. Service was top notch and the atmosphere is fun. Bathrooms are near and clean. Overall this is a great experience with awesome food as a bonus. The next time I am in Milwaukee this will be the only place I go to eat. Highly recommend.
Paul Xumsai
Great place for seafood. The Lobster Roll reminds me of being in Boston, it's that good. Pair that with a Bloody Mary and it's instant food coma.
Joanne
One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. They definitely do not skimp out on the lobster meat here. Large, hearty, perfectly seasoned chunks of lobster that is lightly coated in mayo sit on top of a buttered roll that is baked to perfection. The fries that come with the lobster roll are also well seasoned and complement the sandwich perfectly. The best part is that it only costs $13.95, which is unheard of for a lobster roll. Even places like Panera charge $20+ and less casual establishments charge $25+.
Tunisha AmazinGrace Crosby
Service AWESOME BLOODY MARY very goooood
Brad Marshall
Great food. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Service was good too, and food came out fast
Cory Jo Merten
Went to New Mequon location. Lobster roll was outstanding! People say pricey but amount of lobster is amazing. Service was great and love the decor. About 10 more things I want to try.
Saralyn Emmons
The bar is the best feature - outdoor on the east side of the Public Market, you can dine there or dine inside. They have the freshest seafood options for the most reasonable price. Try the Lobster Claw Bloody - the salmon jerky is delicious!
Alex a
Hard to find good or even decent seafood in Milwaukee, most folks here think Red Lobster is good lol. St. Paul Fish company gives me my fix. I always get the Lobster roll and it is so good. The bread part being lightly toasted gives it just enough crunch and is oh so delicious.
I tried a crab cake here as an appetizer and was surprised, it is significantly better than what Crawdaddy's calls a crab cake.
I also like how with covid and it being cold out, they basically enclosed their outdoor bar area, have dividers every 2 seats and added UV heating lamps. Way to adapt. This place is legit.
D Town
A must stop if you like seafood. $18.00 for a lobster dinner & $16 for the lobster roll. Both come with French fries & Cole slaw. Big pieces of lobster in the sandwich. We were there June 29th 2020. You MUST wear a mask to go into the market. They do have seating inside & outside but is limited. You can also pick up to go. They also have frozen fish & cold counter items to take home.
Diane Murley
I've had the calamari steak 3 times and it's always so good. The outdoor tiki bar (especially in winter) is my favorite place to hang. Service has always been great!
Christopher Okazaki
Living downtown, I frequent Public Market . Today felt like some fresh fish, and St. Paul is a great spot
Service was OK - has been better on previous visits
Cod fry (fish n’ chips) was super fresh, crispy beer batter, and amazingly moist fish. Only negative comment is after frying, doused with SALT - couldn’t eat the batter after a couple bites. Peeled off the salt encrusted outside and feasted on the amazing Cod
Frittes were good
Slaw was tasty
Will order again, just tell ‘em easy on the blood pressure !
W. Sebastian Ocobock
What a delightful place! May I suggest the Lobster Roll. The Oyster collection has is Amazing. After you enjoy the food , stroll the market for other delicious treats.
Rich Denton
The Lobsta Roll was purdy good.
Undertenreviews
Crab rolls, oysters, soft shell crabs when they have them, and the muscles are all excellent.
The last trip in though we tried the lobster bisque, and there is no other way to say it- it was freakin disgusting, maybe we had a bad batch?
If you like seafood in Milwaukee this is your place.
blaze2828
Great seafood and reasonable prices. Fish tacos were great, oysters always good, lobster roll- I haven't found a better one in the midwest, Deep fried soft shelled crab (when in season) -check. Also really enjoy the outdoor bar area too. Since moving into the sticks, I miss this place most.
Danielle Moody
St.Paulies is the absolute best place to get seafood in the city. I will go to the ends of the earth and deal with the atrocious parking by the public market, just to get a lobster roll. There service is always fast and the people are always nice and personable! 10/10 would recommend!
Reggie Bryant
Lobster roll was pretty amazing, with plenty of meat and soft-yet-dense brioche . Fries were crisp and hot (wasn't planning to eat many, but plans changed on first bite), and the coleslaw was tasty without being overdressed. I'll have to return for the lobster dinner next time I'm in MKE
aaron tan
Delicious seafood, friendly host, and quick service!
Got the lobster roll, and it was definitely worth my fill. Fries were crunchy, coleslaw was decent, but the lobster roll definitely made me bump it up to 5 stars.
Greg and Kelly Addison
Yummmmmmmy! Fabulous breaded calamari, walley and grouper. I normally don't like breading. I prefer battered fish. However, this hands down was the best breaded fish I have eaten. Actually, I got the lobster roll which was the best lobster roll I have ever eaten (haven't had one in Maine yet). My hubby and son got the grouper and walley. We share. Reasonably priced. Good service. We plan to go back.
Gregory Dorsey
The food was great. Reasonable pricing and very generous portions. Great variety and the atmosphere was great.
Maria Fuentes
All seafood is very good, great Waite staff especially David. Never had any complaints. Good way to spend a Birthday.
Kyle Hedblom
Incredible seafood! It was my first experience when I moved to Milwaukee and I was blown away by how good (and affordable) the food is. Seating is scarce just because it is located in the coveted marketplace but the food is well worth any wait you could possibly have!
Matias Mulvey Videla
great service, nice atmosphere, but the lobster roll was awful. way too much mayo, onions etc. couldn't even taste the lobster. the gumbo was okay but nothing great. I was pretty disappointed with the food but I'd be willing to return to try something else like a tuna melt or something.
Carol Kau
This afternoon we had a party of 6 for our first visit. Patrick was our server and what a treasure he was! He recommended the calamari steak for an appetizer and it was wonderful. He also spoke with great knowledge about every item on the menu. The food was fantastic and the service even better. We will return and hopefully have Patrick as our server again.
DragonLord72 Tarot
The food is fresh but portions are small.
Mohammed Shaikh
Clam chowder soup was excellent. One pound Lobster was succulent. Wait time was OK
Our server Patrick was very attentive and didn’t miss a beat. This was our third time.
Lurice McCalla Di Muzio
What's not to like about a place where you can get a $18.95 lobster with two sides. Fresh and delicious. Social distancing measures were in place and the staff was welcoming to all guests.
Katherine
Anytime I have family come visit from out of town, its a must to go eat there! I've tried their traditional lobster/roll, their lobster bisque, their blackened catfish, their swordfish, their shark bites, and crab cakws. Everything I have tried has been delicious!! It is always busy but so worth the wait.
Michael Gentili
Fun and engaging bartenders, great food and drinks.
Isidro Daniel Vargas
Great fish, great food. Arsenio was good, took care of both wife and I on food. Everything was fresh, great experience. Definitely visit again

Great food, drinks and people. Owners and staff are beyond friendly and welcoming. Bloody Mary's are the best on the block! Lobster rolls are worth the drive from Chicago.

*GREAT* food. Get the calamari steak! You won't find it at many places and St Paul does it right. The lobster bloody mary is also fantastic. Really everything is good. Would go here daily if it was easier to park in downtown.

I love this place! High end seafood dinners at a poor man's price. While you are there pack a take home sack with extra crab legs, claws, muscles, even a lobster.
Don't forget to have the oysters Rockefeller, or calamari. Very excellent appetizers.

I have never had a bad experience ordering from here raw fish to prepare to dine in service. The to-go options portions are not the same or even come close to when you dine in.

Always a great lunch at St. Pauls.

Oh my, had the best lobster roll there, highly recommend. I was eating one, have a bite to my 5 year old and then found myself waiting in line for another as my son ate the first. It is on the pricey side, around $15 but definitely worth the try. I would suggest getting to the public market early as it gets really busy but is so much fun.

The wall eye, lake perch, and grouper fish fry were all delicious 😋. New favorite fish fry place🐟

This place is awesome! Really great food, drinks, and service. Our go to place since before, during, and after the Covid. Just had another great dinner there tonight... salmon dinner and Jamaican Jerk Swordfish. Thank you again for another wonderful meal & great time! :)

Absolutely delicious! Limited seating so put in your reservation then stroll around the great shops of the Milwaukee Public Market. Try the Maine Lobster dinner - was in Maine in summer, tasted like being back!

Always a great spot. Fish fry is outstanding!!!

Food was delicious and Corie was a fantastic server! Would recommend to anyone well worth the 40 minute wait

Fresh tasting, no-frills seafood at a reasonable price. Seating is limited and a little tight and table service hasn't been the best the couple of times we dined there, so we usually opt to order to go. The Milwaukee Public Market has upstairs and outdoor seating areas which usually aren't as crowded, but we usually take it for a picnic at Lakeshore State Park.
They also sell a nice selection of fresh uncooked fish which we have had good experience with as well. It's a good sign when a fish market doesn't smell like fish.

The food was great. The atmosphere was fun. We were here the first Friday of Lent, so it was packed. We got a seat at the bar. The guys working were fun, friendly, and attentive. The cocktails were nice and strong. Everything was fairly priced.

Best seafood dinner I have had. 6 different kinds of oysters and the scallops are amazing. There retail store has good product at a fair price too

The food is great. When ordering food, I always take a to-go order for lunch at work. Tuna melt, po boys and the fish fry are solid. Never had the lobster dinner.
I often buy seafood from here to take home and cook. Never have been disappointed in the quality.
Expect to wait on busy days for a table or for your to-go order. They are usually really slammed on busy days in the market. I wish they had a larger kitchen and dining space, but the rental area in the MPM is limited for them.

The place is inside the Public Market. We ordered appetizers as we were not too hungry. Every downtown should have a place like this!
Everything was delicious. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The service was prompt, albeit rushed at the end (it was lunch time & got busy) only 4 star as we would have preferred it less salty. Not a big issue if you are not counting your sodium intake.

The BEST damn lobster roll I have ever eaten! We went to this establishment last September and didn't realize how FREAKING AWESOME their lobster roll was until we tried others! I would make a second trip to Wisconsin just to have this lobster roll again!

St. Paul Fish Co. was such a fun experience! The folks that work there are so enthusiastic about their food and fish and their enthusiasm is totally contagious. The food was excellent and the oysters were so lovely. I hope I have the opportunity to come back to MKE so I can eat there again!

Best fresh seafood place in Milwaukee. 5 star for lobster dinner and most def. 5 star for oysters. No where in Milwaukee can beat their fresh and neatly prepped oysters. Minus the seating's and inconsistent service. I def. recommend the place. Be even better if they branch out to their own restaurant and have reservations since they are so famous and it can be a bit crowded with the waiting.

Fun atmosphere inside the Milwaukee Public Market. Food is very good, despite the long wait times. (Easy enough to grab a glass of wine down the market while you wait.). Tables are vintage diner style that add to the funky, urban vibe. The tiki bar is especially fun in the dead of winter Definitely worth a visit!!

When a place is packed with happy folks you know its great. Been eating a variety of their menu options for years without disappointment.

Great food. I had the lobster roll and my husband had the fish tacos.

First time here and it did not disappoint. Clam strips were outstanding..Wife had lobster roll and I had the Walleye sandwich and both were huge. Cant wait to go back.

Worth the wait, order the Lobster Roll and Oysters. Review is for Dine in Only, no comment on retail.
This place is a part of the Milwaukee Public Market. Put your name down when you get there and explore the Market until your table is ready.
Super reasonable prices for seafood. Lobster roll is $15 and the roll is stuffed with lobster. East Coast Virginica oysters start at $1.5 per but that's the same price as getting unshucked ones from Austin, TX in a grocery store

Always fresh, good quality seafood. Best affordable seafood restaurant in Milwaukee.

Was there twice in a day and had tuna and lobster. Will have to try their fish fry, as one of the couple who was sitting near me highly recommended to have grouper fish. Will definitely visit if I were in Milwaukee.
Brad McLaughlin
Great raw bar, friendly and knowledgable staff

Seafood was fresh. Could've use a little more seasoning

This is such a neat spot, but was very disappointed in the lobster bisque. I was expecting a cream colored bisque but received a brown, no lobster bisque. Gross!! We returned it after taking a couple of sips and was hassled by the cashier. She informed us that this was a traditional bisque and went on by listing all the ingredients in it. She asked us if we’ve ever had lobster bisque before and also informed us that there was no lobster in this LOBSTER bisque. I would not recommend this item.

The Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo is my new favorite go-to in the Third Ward. Go get some.
