We had brunch here with friends. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. It was busy, but not packed. We enjoyed most of the food that we ordered. However, the meats on the cheese board tasted off and had some discoloration. We eat everything and we didn’t have any desire to finish the salami. The entrees were good, but nothing that was as remarkable as the cheese curds…they were served in a ramekin as fresh curds melted with a crispy topping and croquettes. It was unique and delicious. Our drinks were good. The cocktails were interesting. I had a Bloody Mary and it definitely hit the spot.

Absolutely fantastic. Every dish for all 5 of us was great. Service at the bar and table was friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were delicious, Bloody Marys were good. Just a terrific spot, the interior and decor is great -- an all-around fantastic destination.

UPDATE: Returned for an evening outing. It is still great, although it is much noisier with the large doors closed and a bigger evening crowd. That did not detract from it just being a fun place! Our shared fries were perfectly done and the side of garlic aioli is a big plus! The artichoke dip bread bowl was super tasty but a bit unwieldy for sharing. We'd still get it again. As you can see from the pics, we made short work of them both! Special shout to Grace, our server. She was friendly and efficient. Sam, the owner, was making the rounds of the tables and was very nice. He shared that he is starting a neighborhood loyalty program with some seriously nice perks. Loved this place!! It was a warm night so we had the benefit of the open doors/walls. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. I LOVED the citrus dessert.....outstanding!

The food was AMAZING! Staff so warm and friendly! The gave out 7yr old birthday girl money bread with a candle! We had brussel sprouts, cinnamon french toast and apple pie donuts! All sooooo good! You must eat here!

The monte Cristo egg rolls were good, although I didn't care too much for the sriracha-maple combination. Overall, pleasant experience.

A short but tasty experience. Location and environment. A nice location in the hipster area, lots of apartments, bars and happenings. Close to the summer fest grounds and downtown. Parking is street parking anywhere you can find it. If there is not a big event in the city it should be okay finding some. The place itself is a wide open area perfect for big groups and to keep a steady climate. Decorated nicely with some standout features, see image of plant wall. Service and atmosphere. Lots of goings on here and always seems busy with lots of groups. A relaxed smart casual atmosphere. The service was fast and professional. To the point but of a higher brow. Food and drink. Like many places in the area this was a set short menu from a rotating head chef. Limited to seasonal and interesting things, it was was hard to find a good safe option to pick. The drinks were plenty and handmade with special touch's. Overall, a pleasant and unbothered experience. Nothing too exciting from this place but if want a business date here is the place.

We had them do our wedding reception dinner. The service was phenomenal. The food was great and the drinks were on point. All of our guests enjoyed themselves and commented on how fantastic it all was. The staff took excellent care of us and went above and beyond in all aspects to make our special day truly special.

Food was excellent and service was great. Cool atmosphere and plenty of seating. I had the fast cheetah (spicy chicken sandwich) and the brussel sprout appetizer. Both were excellent as was their beer selection. Our bill came to $110 for 2 people, which is a bit steep for pub style food.

We had a small celebration dinner there for our quick wedding that took place on 10/12/22. The whole staff was friendly and prompt! All of our guests loved the food and we heard from many about how great the space was! Thank you so much for helping is make our day special!! We will for sure becoming back!!

Great location, good vibe, good service but the food is overpriced for what you get. The cheese curd appetizer was not even curds but more like a cheese fondue with dipping bread, at $16, good but small and too pricey. They were also out of wings but our table had a flier saying that it was wing night. Well then take it off. Overall 4 meals, an app and 7 drinks $194 with tip. Ouch

Lovely brunch spot! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of tables available. They have nice music and a relaxing atmosphere. Unique and fun decor. We ordered the "Elvis crepe cake" and the "smoked meat everyday" . The crepe was on point and not too sweet. The smoked meat was absolutely delicious and had a great combination of flavors. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They also have a ton of drink options. Great place overall! Will definitely be returning.

This is one of the on occasions spots in Milwaukee. Step above the normal chain type and doesn't take itself to seriously. Menu does get tweaked over time to bring the good stuff to the top. Great place.

We went to the J. Henry and Sons dinner that they hosted. I've been to Merriment before: once for dinner and once for the burger feature/special/happy hour thing that they do. This is a solid place to go eat. The servers and staff are always friendly and personable. The dinner that we went to was family style and had meals paired with various J. Henry and Sons bourbon. It was well thought out - I hope they continue to host things like this in the future.

In general the food was good. The menu offers modern American cuisine dishes. The cheese curds appetizer was not what we were expecting and little on the plain side. However there main dishes (merriment burger, shell and cheese and hanger steak ) were very good.

Food was good but it seems like you pay for the environment more than anything. Service was OK, portions were small and overall not impressive for the whopping $200 for 4 adults and 2 kids.

An excellent dining experience perfect for the morning after a night out brunch, at a perfect price! We stopped in after a late night out to fuel up and grab a drink to shake off the night. We started with their cheese fries that were covered with spice and jalapenos, which went great with our bloody mary (the only average part of the experience, get one and if you like go for the unlimited) After that we all got the brisket hash. A great combo also perfectly seasoned. The brisket was tender and juicy and was a good portion. The brussel sprouts that come with it are out of this world! I eat sprouts often, but had to ask what they add to give it the sweetness. GET THEM!!! The service was great as well. It wasn't very busy as we got there right when they opened, and it picked up within the hour. We were even approached by the manager on our way towards the door to make sure we enjoyed everything. One of the must try spots in Milwaukee!!!

Ordered the Cream City Special burger and baked cheese curd appetizer. Both were very tasty, the burger was super filling and it had two patties which I wasn’t expecting. The appetizer portion was very small especially considering the price ($13), only about four bites of food and since it was baked all the cheese curds melted together. The burger at $16 is also pretty steep, wish it was $12-14 & go with one less patty. The waiter was nice and decor of the restaurant very interesting to look at. Overall flavors very good but a bit pricy.

For 11am Sunday morning this place buzzing. Families , bros, ladies who brunch. Service was fast and staff were great with explaining the menu. Fast wifi nd great selection of drinks. Breakfast sausage dumplings are wow, perfectly balanced flavours and salty goodness. Chicken and waffles were done well, flavoursome good seasonings. Short rib tacos had great flavours.

Really cool and open space! Very industrial with lots of wood and greenery throughout. Big bar in the center makes a statement when you walk in. The food was overall pretty good! Started things off with baked cheese curds and let me tell you, very different from what you'd expect. They were neat to try, but would probably never get again. For the entrees we got the Merriment Burger and Braised Short Rib French Dip. I added a fried egg and the gravy for dipping because it was unique. Burger was okay, fries were great, gravy was nothing special in my opinion. The French Dip was fantastic, a must try! Overall, nice spot, good food and good drinks. I'm happy we stopped to try it out!

The selection (8+) of tasty burgers with very unique (at least for someone who isn't from the area) toppings sets this large restaurant apart. The burgers are very tasty as the toppings mix well with the very natural beef flavor of the patties. I recommend the MFD Truckie if you're struggling to decide which burger to snag. For the vegetarians you can get an impossible veggie patty which replicates the taste and texture of a beef burgers. Enough about the burgers and onto the beer. The beer selection wasn't extensive but you can find something you like. The wine list and cocktails list also isn't super impressive but does the job. I'd recommend coming by if you like gourmet burgers in a hip space.

First visit. Nice crowd. Had reservations on a Saturday night. Our server Reed was fantastic. Attentive and great suggestions. The cocktails were delightful; d.b. cooper and Millennial Falcon. Brussel sprout appetizer was off the hook! Split the Ruben and French dip and Peanut butter Boi for dessert. Definitely will be back!

Great food and great atmosphere. Their hamburger may literally be the best I've ever had (I've ordered it more times than I can count!), and their other food is tremendous as well. They make a lot of unique items with interesting food combinations that somehow manage to taste great together. It's a really neat vibe in the restaurant, and I've always found the staff to be very friendly.

Everything was 'fine' (except for the service, which was great). We had carpaccio and a brisket sando. It seemed like a problem with balance. Carpaccio was nicely cut and fresh, but it had too much parmesan. Sandwich was flavorful but didn't have enough acid to cut through the richness. It's an OK enough stop.

I went for brunch on Saturday. It was easy to get a reservation some what early for my large group. They had Some of the best apps I’ve had in a long time. My friends all enjoyed their cocktails and they had bottomless mimosas where they left a jug on the table (didn’t have to wait for a server to come around and refill). The main meals were more underwhelming than the apps. The avocado toast didn’t look super appetizing but the chicken and waffles was great. Service was good and the kitchen was fast.

The place has a very unique design in that one side of the buliding opens up with glass garage doors so when the weather is nice there's plenty of fresh air. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, the food service was fast,friendly and tasty but not cheap. The only downside for me was the noise level, it was quite high.

Great new spot with food, drinks, lots of seating and multiple screens for sports. Nice bar, and great waitstaff. Only issue is they're pricier than other bar and grills. Regardless, I'd recommend you check them out!

We got married here August 2020 and could not have been happier. The location and ambience was exactly what we were looking for. Custom food menu was executed and delicious. Our specialty cocktails were concocted throughout our wedding planning at Merriment and were also delicious. We got awesome reviews from our guests regarding everything to do with Merriment and would highly recommend this venue for your wedding! Considering the circumstances of 2020 and the situation we're dealing with, Merriment ensured our guests were safe. The sidewalk seating as well as patio were incredibly accommodating. We were told from numerous guests this was the best food they have ever had at a wedding- hot chicken, merriment burgers, dumplings, to name a few... we even worked with the pastry chef to customize our dessert for the night. It was a fun experience for us to have meetings at the location to discuss food options and taste tests- the end result being a completely customized night that reflected us.

Me and my 2 friend girls went to Merriment Social on a Sunday around 2pm. We called ahead thinking it’d be busy but it wasn’t. Aesthetically the place is gorgeous! They have a plant wall that would make for great Instagram posts. However, when it comes to the food and menu I would not return. The midday menu was short and limited, and kind of deceiving. We had multiple versions of the menu just between the three of us, including items that were not available. We were recommended a charcuterie board that had one cheese and two meats (one of which was basically bologna). The rest of the board was olives, tomatoes, rolls, raw broccoli, pickled onions, and candied almonds (which I did like). Would not recommend. My friend ordered a burger with no cheese. She’s lactose and is always super explicit about that. When she went to eat the burger she noticed the cheese and had to ask for it to be remade. Our drinks were all okay- not amazing or anything to go out of your way for. Overall, maybe it could be okay for just drinks and cute photos with friends but I wouldn’t order food there again, not even appetizers.

Today I was looking for some place to take my sister's to eat brunch. Everywhere we tried was at least an hour wait. We thought we'd give this place a try. The staff are super friendly. Greeted immediately by warm smiles. We were seated quickly. Asked for recommendations and the server knew exactly what he was talking about. They had really great artwork up. The atmosphere was very laid back, the food was great. I'd recommend ordering the house burger (Merriment).

The staff was very thorough with the description of the food and any questions we had. Though I am a beer fan, the punches for two was such a unique idea, we had to get one, which didn't disappoint. The food was SO good. We tried cheese curds, beef brisket, and the duck... amazing. If you like dim sum, which we didn't try, a waiter walks around a dim sum cart, which adds a chef's special to the menu. I will definitely be back!

Overpriced food for its quality. The atmosphere is fine and the staff was polite about being out of decaffeinated coffee, but I was sorely disappointed in the ribs texture and sauce. I couldn't even eat the hush puppies but that might be personal tastes. Collared greens with bacon was good. Only thing I really enjoyed was the spicy chicken lettuce wraps, which have quite the kick.

We attended an engagement party this last Saturday, and the spread was AMAZING. Literally, every.single.thing. we tried was so GOOD! I would recommend to all of my family and friends! Kudos to the cooks! The staff was very nice as well.

Update to previous review - Just returned from our first weekend brunch at Merriment and couldn't be more satisfied. Cinnamon french toast to die for! Order with a side of bacon for that sweet/savory delight. Add on the specialty slushees and you have a perfect breakfast in a nice open historic place with a cool vibe and great music. It is sooo good to be back to indoor dining after a long pandemic of takeout! It was hot outside today but very comfortable inside. Patio and open garage door dining are other options. Server Dillon and owner Sam are great. In northern Walker's Pt / Harbor View mere steps from Third Ward. Got immediate seating right at 10a opening. The place got busier as the morning went on but there were plenty of available tables. Was already sold on dinner here; can't wait to try more brunch fare. Original Review - Just finished one of the best fish fry dinners we've had. From the crispy and tender cod fillet to the fantastic potato pancakes to the delicious tarter and rye bun, it brought us back to Friday fish "up nort one time." If there was one minor quibble, it'd be the slaw which seemed not so fresh. And if you don't come for the fish, the always good Merriment burger does not disappoint. Grab the special popcorn mix for an appetizer. Staff is friendly for pickup or COVID-safe separated dining.

Every experience I've had here has been awesome! Merriment social hosted our wedding reception. We worked primarily with Sam and both feel he bent over backwards and sincerely cared about every detail. Every guest I've spoken to since has remarked on the excellent food and truly exceptional service! The bar manager worked with us to prepare a signature cocktail menu that really spoke about our tastes. It was excellent!

Wow. Our friends live nearby and took us here. My husband had a Salted Carmel spiked Shake, the one sup he let me have was so good. I really enjoyed my cream city burger, the sauce was superb. Craig was friendly, attentive and made some great suggestions. The manager stopped by and seemed nice as well. Would definitely return.

Just got finished with our meal here and it was awesome! When we first got seated it was about 20 minutes before our waitress was able to take our order. But Cassia quickly apologized to us and quite unexpectedly was able to comp us dessert. Despite the wait, she was very friendly and gave us great service. The food was delicous and the fries are INSANELY Delicious. 10/10 would reccomend again!!

Service was wonderful. The Brussel Sprouts were OK. Chick Magnet app was excellent. The 2 people that got burgers ordered them medium rare and they came out well done. Burger was otherwise very underwhelming. Same with the french dip, very underwhelming in flavor profile. Mac was good though. Both desserts were otherwise pretty good. Service really saved this from being a 2 star.

My family and I visited Merriment fo brunch on the 23rd of Dec. Wow, we were so surprised at the quality of the food and beverages. We started with the cheese curds, amazing! My husband and my daughter sampled the Ninja Turtle shots and they were very happy with the taste of the mix. The food came in a timely manner and the order was filled correctly. I had the burger with the Merriment sauce which was very good, my husband had the brisket and he loved it. The kids had the Mac-N-Cheese and they were quite pleased. Our server was attentive and well informed about the menu. We had such a good time eating I forgot to take pictures😀

What a wonderful spot! My wife and I found this place per chance while biking in Milwaukee. The brunch menu was extensive enough for any taste and the drink menu offered a nice selection of beers snd wines. The service was top-notch, and matched by the quality of the food. You can sit inside or outside. You will not be disappointed!

Really unique little spot, definitely worth a visit! Street parking only which can be a little tricky. We had the fried chicken which was flavorful and cooked perfectly and flaky biscuits that melted in your mouth. We also had all three burgers which were pretty good, but the real star was the fries! Super crispy and flavorful. They had a dim sum cart that came around to each table and the dumplings were DELICIOUS and definitely a nice touch to the restaurant. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 was because our food did not come out at the same time. It was strangely staggered which was super weird and awkward when people are trying to share a meal together. Overall, a great place to try!

Stopped in to celebrate my best friend's birthday and had a great first experience. Service was prompt and pleasant and they never made us feel rushed. Decent selection of unique beers and ciders, and imaginative cocktails. They even brought out a free slice of birthday cake for my friend. Very inviting open-concept industrial design inside. Would like to return to try their brunch and bloody mary.

Top notch service, inviting atmosphere and excellent cocktails; even the music! Make sure to order the brussel sprout appetizer, you won't be disappointed. In a time when covid is part of a dining experience, the setup, preparation and cleanliness made us very comfortable. 100% will dine here again.

Drinks and food are on point! They made my favorite drink, the Sidecar, perfectly. For food we ordered two plates to share between two people- the quesabirria tacos and the chicken tinga tostados. They were decent portions but if you're looking to be filled up I'd recommend either another plate or ordering one of their burgers. The food itself looked and tasted close to fine dining. You should make reservations, the place was almost in the early evening. I would love to return here as soon as possible.

Drinks were excellent. Food was very good except my husband and I were both disappointed with the hot fried chicken. The coating was so spicy I could barely eat mine. Both of us ended up with upset stomaches. Both of us usually enjoy spicy food. Apps and other entrees were good. Service was good as well.

I have been here a few times and always have enjoyed a burger and fries. while the prices are a bit high, I find the quality and level of execution a notch above. Burgers with high quality ingredients and toppings, paired with perfectly crispy French fries. Trendy atmosphere in a great area make for a regular stop for us.

Went for an early dinner with a friend. Good burgers (if a bit messy), excellent dumplings, and really good drinks. The bartender was nice enough to make up hot drinks especially for us on a very cold day. A great food, great staff - I would definitely go back.

With my parents living across the street, both they and I were very excited with Merriment opening! We went the Sunday of the opening weekend, ordered six items off of the menu to share and they all were delicious! The favorites were probably the fried brussel sprouts and the Merriment burger but I can't emphasize enough that everything we ordered was incredibly tasty! There was a great selection of beers and as well as unique, flavorful cocktails. We tried one of the punches and it was delicious as well as creative! We're looking forward to going back and trying everything else on the menu. Overall a very fun and delectable first experience!

The only downside is that the room was very echoey. Being in an old (shipping?) building it makes sense but adding a few drop panels for sound damping would help without ruining the look.

Totally worth the extra $$$, but it is on the pricey side if you hit it at any time other than happy hour ($5 specialty burger and $5 specialty cocktail/beer of the week). Brunch is delicious and they have a large selection of brunch cocktails and "sipping shots" to go along with it. I've tried far more Milwaukee brunch places than I'm willing to admit and this ranks among the very best.

Sam is such a great and approachable person. When he comes to greet you, you would never know he is the owner. The staff as a whole, every single one of them go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. The place is such an interesting building and the decor flows seamlessly with the history of the building. As if that wasn't enough, the food is amazing. The burgers are amazing. On a personal note, I just met Sam and his crew a couple of weeks ago and I feel as if I knew them for years and when I ask as a favor if they would consider a suggestion, surprisingly they listened. It is great when you have businesses that still go out of their way to make the customers feel welcome, comfortable, special and valued.

Wonderful experience, Sam helped me plan a double surprise party for 12 & I don't even live in the state. The results were flawless. Top notch service, delicious food, fantastic cocktails, friendly & attentive service. I tried all three of the salads, the brussel sprout appetizer & a signature cocktail. I was happy that our table for 12 was not squished close to other tables, tight against a wall or off in a room by itself. The restaurant was busy, Saturday night, but the noise level was still acceptable. Our waiter had another large group nearby & was always available, calm. & friendly. Sam even stopped by the table to introduce himself.

Alright. Burgers are mediocre as of late especially for the price. Patties are like 1/8th pound at best. Soft, one might even say chaus. The Spicy chicken we ordered literally had no splice to it.....And we ordered extra spicy. Fun atmosphere though.

We journeyed to Merriment last night based on all of the Google reviews that we read. First, the ambiance is so rad, what with the garage doors being up and the open air. Second, Cameron, one of the owners, stopped by our table and chatted with us, sharing Merriment's views on why it values and strives to have outstanding service (which is clear from our experience) and then shared his personal recommendations of other places to eat. We had the Swayze and the Cream City and both burgers were eclectic and different but oh so tasty! In addition, our server, Alex, was attentive, able to give precise recommendations on drinks (definitely go for the punches for two drinks!) and also on food. Overall, the best experience we have had in Milwaukee and that is saying a lot since we have tried many other establishments such as Cafe Benelux, The Wicked Hop, The Outsider, Bar Louie, and MS is by far the best!

I had my reservations about trying this place, only because of the prices, but I've been wanting to go for the longest time. Well, we finally tried it and it was well worth the price! We had the ranch cheese curds as an appetizer, which were not your typical breaded cheese curd, but absolutely amazing. It was melted cheese curds with breading and giardiniera type pickles on top with crostinis on the side, making it a cheese curd bruschetta type experience. I had the merriment burger and my girlfriend had the taco burger. We were both OBSESSED with how good these burgers were, both were cooked perfectly. Juicy, buttery, with melted cheeses and great sauces. The bun was also one of the best burger buns I've ever had. Most definitely will be back!

Service was excellent and speedy, food was disappointing for a several reasons: 1. Burger was tiny! It was more like a single slider. Not even enough to be considered an appetizer. 2. Ordered it medium and it came out well done. 3. Wife ordered the avacado bowl and it was more like avacado flavored lettuce. There wasn't even an avacado in it! 4. Way overpriced for the quantity. Flavor of everything was excellent, but we were still very hungry when we left. We understand everything is pricier in the third ward, but the value at Merriment Social isn't worth recommending this place.

We visited Merriment for our Anniversary dinner and I chose it because I have passed by it in my bicycle. When I saw it they had these huge garage doors open and the inside just looked very modern with historic touches of the building. The food selection is seasonal so it changes but I had the Crispy Duck leg and it was taste bud heaven! My wife had a Smoked Salmon Bruchetta and she absolutely loved it! She said we must go back again and again . Oh for a appetizers we had a duck egg roll and that was an egg roll to write down in history as the best egg roll I've ever had. Our waiter recommended a drink which I can't remember the name but it came in a large glass bottle with two cups and it was not too sweet and bitter. Pinkish in color and delicious. I do warn you it goes down like juice but creeps on you. Our waiter was beyond friendly, kind and patient. He was attentive and observant. The only bad was a group of younger people behind us with one young man talking loud enough for people across the street to hear him. I probably know his whole family upbringing and issues afterwards. Still that did not out weigh our great experience at Merriment.

I emailed via the "event inquiry" portal on their website about the opportunity to host a small bachelorette party with a paired drink menu. 5 courses with paired beverages and not a single detail was missed. I was able to attend Merriment Social's soft opening this week. I really liked what they did with the space (formerly Moct). The food was excellent. We were able to try several items on the menu - the wings had a great flavor. For the past 30 years I thought I hated Brussels Sprouts, but they were delicious! The burger would be the reason I would come back. It was one of the most flavorful burger's I've ever had. The blend for the patty is what makes it so great, plus they don't add any crazy toppings - just bacon and cheese. This burger is destined to be a contender for Best Burger in Milwaukee.

Food is very good, fries and burgers. The Space seem like it would be very cool in the summer. It's very open and Industrial. My major complaint is how they treat there vegetarian customers. Charging 4 dallor more to substitute a veggie burger is a really ridiculous (making it a 20 dallor burger). The veggie burger it self was good and original... But damn 20?If your not a vegetarian then this place may be great for you. But honestly I don't what sets place a part of a red Robin.

Cool space with killer fried chicken. Everything else was average at best and the service was rushed. The server/kitchen didn't pace the delivery of the food, so it came out very fast. It felt rushed. Also, when will chef's stop frying brussel sprouts? If your staff can't operate the fryer at a proper temperature, the brussel sprouts come out soaked in grease. This happened here and then they covered it in some sort of cake topping.

Merriment Social is a really neat bar and restaurant. It's built in an old auto repair garage, so it has glass doors that can open on nice nights. They have really great food that spreads the spectrum from pretty accessible (burgers, including a $5 happy hour burger of the week) to crazy unique (Pork Belly Tikka Masala). The thing that keeps us coming back is the deep beer menu that is always changing. The bar manager has a real knack for picking awesome, accessible beers. Definitely worth a visit!

I came here for brunch on a Saturday and it was nearly empty. All the employees seemed either hungover or extremely disappointed with their tables. I am wondering if it was just an off day? The dim sum cart was a little odd, seemed a little out of place, especially because it was full of sweets. We went for the $5 Happy Hour Burger special. Man was it good. The JuanTon Burger. The "JuanTon" was 1/4 lb. patty, jalapeño cream cheese, chipotle-bacon jam, shredded lettuce, pickled carrots, fried wontons! It was so good for being slider sized. We also got each of the three wontons as well. Chicken Ceaser, Brat, and Masala...each delicious in their own way. Washed it all down with a Dark Horse Plead the 5th Stout. Dessert was The "Shamrock Hop". A grasshopper shake, creme de menthe and cacao, vanilla vodka, cookies n' cream frosting, stroopwafel, chocolate potato chips! Great way to finish off the happy hour.
