The atmosphere is wonderful with nice jazz music, leather seats, and wood trim. Our waiter was extremely nice, very knowledgeable about wine, and quite the conversationalist. What was the kicker was the overpriced food. The Mac and cheese with bacon cost $20 for a single serving, however it was very good. Also the food was rather hit or miss. When it did it, it was delicious. The seafood gumbo was the best I've had north of Kentucky. However the tomato Creole served with the undersized portion of striped bass tasted like bland salsa. If you're looking for decent barbecue ribs, this is not the place. They're overpriced, overcooked, boiled, sad barbecue ribs. Even the complimentary bread was a weird mixture of sliced pumpernickel I would expect in a German beer house and unleavened I'd expect at Passover. Probably won't be returning for the $60/lb steaks either, but perhaps thats not fair, since it is a steakhouse.

An icon of fine dining, Mason Street Grill by far does not disappoint. First is the decor. Designed like the classic 1920's supper clubs everything from the lighting to the immense amount of wood and brass, the environment takes you back in time. Second is the service. Saying that the staff is accommodating and pleasant doesn't even come close to scratching the surface. They begin to dote on you from the minute you sit down to the time you get up to leave. And finally, the food. The flavors and textures will leave your senses reeling. With fantastic aged steaks and delicious seafood you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Mason's is a spot you must try if you are looking for a romantic night out or a place the gang can get together.

Had a really good experience dining here. Got the burger- and it is delicious and very high quality. My wife got steak and it was excellent too- very good quality meat. The drink selection is good- wine and beer selection is goof and they make good cocktails. Very nice design and good vibe. Staff are friendly and provide good service. Also, this place is reasonably priced.

Holly our server was very good and nice. Live jazz so nice to have in the lounge. Hutch the manager stopped by to see all was going well. What a nice touch. And of course the Food was outstanding 👌

Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Plenty of large portioned entrees for two to share. Ordered the bone in ribeye with mushrooms & truffle spinach creme. Salad a must to try! Soup was tasty. Fried clams yum. Overall it was a great meal. Stop in check it out, don't let the prices keep u, plenty to share.

Service: great service although they were short staffed with only one bartender taking orders and mixing drinks against a full bar (she did wonders to keep guests happy). Floor manager was patronizing the busser which is a bad look. Food: ribeye was quality meat and cooked perfectly to medium rare. Unfortunately it was extremely salty along with the mashed potatoes. Chicken entree was good. Atmosphere: bar side lounge was pleasant and live piano was a nice touch

Food was absolutely delicious, service was good, parking nearby was easy. My husband got the NY strip steak, I got the curry goat and sweet potato gnocchi (pictured), and we got a side of delmonico potatoes to split. For dessert, we split the key lime cheesecake. More pricey than we typically would indulge in, but honestly the best meal I've had in a long time!

We reserved the wine room for our Artisan179 leadership dinner celebration on Sunday evening. Everything from service, food, drinks & atmosphere were outstanding! Most of our group ordered the 10 oz filet & all but one were spot on temp wise, the one that was over cooked was quickly replaced, which made our team extremely happy. Laurus was great, he was extremely tentative refilling our drinks, clearing empties & met all of our service needs! With our group, all in leadership rolls at Artisan179 restaurant in Pewaukee, we are very critical of service, food etc & I must say you exceeded our expectations! Thank you Mason Street Grill, Laurus & your entire team for a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back!

Spend the day in Milwaukee and checked out this spot. Heard about the old fashion in advance. It did not disappoint. The waiter was very personable and professional. Everything that we order was delicious. The clam strips were my favorite. They were seasoned and battered to perfection. Highly recommend trying them. We also tried mac and cheese and wild mushroom. They were also really good. We finished dinner with a burger and ribs. Everything was seasoned well and delicious. No room for dessert

First time here and was excited for a high end dining experience. Atmosphere was nice. Server was nice enough. Most of the food was fine. Was a pretty average experience, which isn’t what I’d expect from a “top Milwaukee restaurant.” None of the bells and whistles that you get from Capital Grille, Wards, or Mo’s. Likely won’t be back.

I'm going to let the pictures do the talking for me but I gotta say we had a great time sitting at the chef's table. Our waiter Grady was fantastic. He was bursting with enthusiasm and helped me navigate the wine menu. The only things you wont see in the pictures are the live band - they were really bopping and had people dancing in the bar section of the restaurant - and the chocolate cake. Why no pictures of the cake? I ate that so fast I forgot to get a shot. So trust me, just get it for dessert. So so good.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We started with a drink in the lobby of the Pfister Hotel then walked to Mason Street Grill. Every thing was outstanding. We started with the octopus appetizer. Then we had the chopped salad which was so delicious with the mustard horseradish dressing (mild). We had the salmon and the fish of the day. Both were outstanding. The service was superb. Highly recommend for a special evening.

Came for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had an awesome experience. Our waitress Shawna did an outstanding job and provided great customer service. The food was excellent, especially the gumbo!! Drinks were nice as well, will be back!

Mason Street Grill gets it right!!!! In a time of COVID minded people who are very wary of going to restaurants ....this fine restaurant/lounge has looked at every detail in order to insure your well being. We were greeted with staff that were impeccably dressed in black and white attire with a matching, tasteful, face mask. All staff wore masks. We sat at the end of the lounges’ bar and were able to observe the activity of diners and staff. Chelsey, our bartenders, was perfect in making us comfortable and was always there to inquire if all was satisfactory during our visit. We were presented with a disposable menu that had a QR code to connect virtually to place our order. The seats were set in pairs and were about 10 feet apart. During the course of the night each time a diner left, a staff member was on the spot disinfecting the area. It was very impressive and put us more at ease to know that this establishment was a place to be. Besides the chopped salad that was made with the freshest of vegetables that my wife insist that I taste (I agreed with the lady’s assessment that it was delicious)! I had the fried clams with French fries that did not disappointed. But the bowl of seafood gumbo was superbly spiced. It was the best that I have ever had! In closing to this lengthy review. I have been so reluctant to go to a restaurant these days, but one can be confined for so long!!! We took a chance. It was so well worth it. Enjoy!

A great experience, right from the strong vesper martinis to the fun bartenders to the stuffed olives and the two piece jazz band, the incredibly knowledgeable server and the tender melt-in-your-mouth ribs. I'd complain if I could!

If the service here wasn’t so terrible I would’ve rated a 4/5. We arrived and the hostess sat down a party of 8 who walked in with no reservations right away. We had no reservation but were a party of 2, when we asked they told us they had nothing for 45 minutes. We then told her there was an open reservation for 15 minutes from then online and she said she didn’t know what to tell us, there were no tables. So had I made the reservation was she going to deny me? The only option we had for more immediate seating was at the kitchen high tops. When we were sitting there we noticed all these open tables. Other than that the food was good and our waitress was awesome. Super nice and attentive.

I had an outstanding dinner here. I intended to go a few blocks for dinner but due to the cold stayed in the hotel and chose Main Street Grill. I’m so glad I did. I had a chophouse salad and seafood gumbo for starters. My entree was the pan roasted chicken. It was maybe the best chicken dinner I’ve ever had! I highly recommend this place.

One of our favorite places, both food and service were again fantastic. I loved the new side dishes since our last visit (tonight was long overdue), and always our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. Thanksgiving visit was spectacular! They have proper safety precautions. The swordfish, short ribs, desserts were all perfect. Cocktails, delicious. Try The 425 Martini. We were apprehensive to dine here with children. However, every one of the five of us loved our food. They even satisfied my pickiest eater. I would highly recommend for a special occasion.

I can’t think of anything negative to say about my experience at Mason Street Grill. It was a recommendation from a tour guide and exactly what I was looking for on my last night here in Milwaukee. Upscale, with a great filet. The menu is a la carte so be prepared for that. I ordered a Moscato D’Asti, filet mignon, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was wonderfully cooked and the service was impeccable. Easy to get a table on a Sunday evening. Highly recommend!

The steaks are amazing and the shortribs are so tender they practically melt in your mouth! The garlic mashed potatoes are served with the skin on and are velvety smooth. The pre-meal bread basket has a sliced white bread that is velvety soft and absolutely delicious. Make sure you have a covid mask to wear until you're seated.

A spur of the moment decision turned into an excellent dining experience. My Bae had the perfectly cooked salmon while i had the ribs. A solid find that I would recommend. Food presentation was good and the taste exceeded expectations. Mason Street Grill definitely earned a return visit for a delicious meal.

The food and service I received was phenomenal. Easily one of the best steaks if not the best steak I have ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough, especially the waiter we had named Justin. The atmosphere is beautiful, and it's a great snippet of Milwaukee for those that want to dine downtown. I wholeheartedly recommend Mason Street Grill.

Let's start with the positives: Our server was sweet and funny, and the ribs were awesome! Unfortunately, we didn't have quite the experience several others have had. It was slow (not just fine-dining slow, like crashed-the-evening slow), with the bulk of our waiting (probably close to an hour) after our food was gone (without additional service). The food was fine, but disappointing for the price. The corn under the crab cake tasted like it was from a can (a particular bummer in the peak of sweet corn season in WI), and the $50 halibut was nothing to brag about (no sides/veggies, and lacking flavor relative to the herb-crusted description). As a caveat, there was a wedding party the evening we were in, so it may have just been a fluke with everything else going on.

I must admit that my bone-in dry aged ribeye steak was cooked to perfection as ordered medium rare. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve send back a steak from other places because it was over cooked. We ordered Stone crab claws and oysters for appetizers, which were very good. My wife ordered the petite fillet mignon, and hers was cooked perfectly as well. I think that she actually liked my steak even more than hers. We ordered butternut squash and sautéed spinach to go along with the steaks. Both were well seasoned and went well with our delicious steaks. The service is not overbearing, but they know what they’re doing. The restaurant manager Randall came over to see how we were doing as well. We appreciated that as well. This is highly recommended by a former chef and Resturant critic. This is a pricey Resturant but worth it if you want something special.

The Pfister is a must see if you are Milwaukee it has all the old charm original Antiques and chandeliers and the Blue Room on the 23rd floor gives you a view of Lake Michigan and the big buildings of our downtown area with nice little chairs and tables quite quaint and lovely.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the food (ahi tuna appetizer, blackened swordfish special, filet mignon with bearnaise sauce, scallops, and the unofficial kids meal of buttered noodles). New favorite dinner stop for my husband and myself! The staff anticipated our every need without hovering. Our Sunday dinner choice was the 3 course special. My husband chose the steak, which was cooked to exactly as he likes, and I picked the chicken. My chicken moist and flavorful. However...the desert was AMAZING!! Best Carrot Cake Ever!!

I've always had great meals at Mason Street. I came here with my (now) husband for one of our first dates. The oysters rockefeller, filet mignon and carrot cake are SO good! We love the carrot cake so much, we ordered one for our wedding earlier this year. My grandparents wouldn't stop talking about how good it was after the wedding that we ordered one for their 65th anniversary (and my Nonna's 90th birthday), which they celebrated this month! Mason Street even decorated it with beautiful sugar flowers, which we weren't expecting at all! My husband and I are picky when it comes to restaurants, but this one is always on our list for a nice dinner out with great hospitality.

Upon our arrival there was a bit of confusion regarding our table and whether it was ready: we went to the bar for a drink and were called back before ordering only to end up waiting another 15 minutes before our table was available. Once we were seated, though, we had a very nice dining experience, although our service was a bit slow, likely due to a busy evening. We ordered both fish and steaks, all of which were prepared impeccably. Sides were both generous and very tasty. The seafood gumbo was especially delicious. They provided a special treat at the end of our meal to celebrate my mother's birthday: we really appreciated that!

We travelled 90 minutes to try this place. The experience and food is the focus here. Only downside is price. But we enjoyed ourselves so much we will be back. I had spicy andouille with shrimp flatbread and chicken tortilla soup. Wife said best steak she ever had, based on quality of cut and flavor. Bourbon cake and orange cranberry cheesecake were great. Then waitress brought out a birthday surprise for wife. Beautiful presentation.

Very good steakhouse. Had the 10oz filet ... Steak was good, the Maytag blue cheese crust was out of this world. Good wine selection, not huge. Cocktails were just OK. We had the Ahi tuna and lamb meatballs as appetizers - excellent. Sides were huge and well prepared.

My husband surprised my Father-in-Law and Sister-in-law with a private dining room to celebrate their birthdays. It was an AWESOME experience. The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating to the two little ones that we had with us.. they even made special requested food for them. We will definitely be going again and would recommend!

First-time dining in this amazing restaurant. Food was phenomenal!!! I ordered shrimp and grits and side of oven roasted brussle sprouts. Shrimp and grits had tons of flavor from added sausage, brussle sprouts very tender, very flavorful with pecans, candid bacon. Just delicious.

Was there last Tuesday for a work dinner with some out of town guests. The service was outstanding! The atmosphere was classy and enjoyable. I personally had the gnocchi which was just fantastic. I’m in Milwaukee several times a week but have never been there before. I will definitely be back. On a side note before we even put in a drink order the waiter asked the white group if anyone has any dietary restrictions, to which I informed him I was allergic to shellfish. He was so very cautious about it from that point on. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We got in town just an hour before our concert and we were scrounging for any restaurant with an open table at 5:55pm on a Friday night. I stumbled upon an open table at Mason Street Grill at 6pm and booked it immediately. We ran (literally) to the restaurant in our causal, country concert garb. As we entered we realized this was an upscale establishment with most people dressed in business to cocktail dress attire. We awkwardly walked through the restaurant to our table and had one of the best dining experiences ever! The waiter was very attentive, walking us through the menu and checking back frequently to make sure we didn't need anything and we're enjoying our experience. My boyfriend had a great local beer and I had a fantastic citrus martini. For the main course we had the ny strip and the scallops. Now scallops are my favorite meal, and when I tell you this is the best scallop dish I have ever had I mean it was to die for. We ordered a side of Mac and cheese which was delectable. We unfortunately left the leftovers in the hotel mini fridge, I am still mad about it. The chef's there really put thought into a balanced, beautiful plate of food. I would 100% go back. I wish I could eat there weekly!

Can't remember the servers name but he was really great! We sat at the Chef's counter. Pretty cool experience! Our 4 year old loved watching them cook and seeing the flames. Its VERY expensive but was a nice birthday treat for my partner. Our check was $300 including tip for two adults and one child, and for three drinks. I think I still prefer other steak houses where you get tons of extras (relish tray, fancy breads and butters, etc.) for half the price, but was a nice experience and something new for us.

Took my kids and their spouses last night to celebrate my 70th birthday, and it couldn't have been better. The service from the moment we arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately and throughout the meal from Graham was 1st rate. Graham was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and obviously proud of his establishment. The food from apps: grilled octopus, heirloom tomato gazpacho with poached lobster, through the salads, main course, and dessert was beautifully prepared and delicious. It really couldn't have been a better experience. Expensive? Yes, but totally worth it. Not to mention the surprise dessert plate with three samples of their desserts. Thank you, Mason Street Grill for exceeding my high expectations.

We had a small private room for a family gathering. Loras, our main server is one of the best that I have seen. All of our requests and needs were met and he was able to volunteer some niceties to make the experience memorable. Appetizers were great, sides were fresh, hot and flavorful and the steaks were cooked to order perfectly. My dry aged ribeye was cooked rare exactly as requested. Rave reviews at the table for potatoes Delmonico and Mac n cheese. Truly an exceptional experience.

Stellar service and dining experience. As our very personable server Loras pointed out (and we agreed) , the MSG has charisma. It exuded warmth, sophistication, and, being attached to the Pfister, old-world Milwaukee charm. My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and the dinner couldn't have been more delicious. Steaks (filets) to perfection as one would expect. We also enjoyed the seafood cocktail appetizer and wine selections. Sure it was pricey but as with most things, YGWYPF. We'll be back at the Pfister and MSG again...can't wait.

Our server Kyler was stellar. Crabcakes were an amazing appetizer that lead us into our entrees. I've never had fish in a tomato based sauce so I was skeptical but the Alaskan sea bass was absolutely amazing. Her medium fillet was as delicious as expected with an unbelievably tender slab of Neuske bacon on top. We finished with the best creme brulee I've personally ever had. Btw if you're a rum fan try the zombie drunk!

Absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous atmosphere and phenomenal food. Genuinely the best New York Strip steak I've ever had. Service was spectacular all around, from the host to the busser to the server, Elizabeth. She was friendly and very helpful and balanced her attentiveness perfectly! Me and my wife came here for our anniversary dinner and we where not disappointed. The food came in a very timely manner with ton of taste and flavor. The only thing that took a little bit of time was it took awhile to get our drinks and we only ordered diet Coke’s. Prices are a little expensive which makes it hard to return for non special dinner.

These were probably the best ribs I've had since Chicago's Jake Melnick and Scottsdale's Charleston's and I will be back! I made reservations a month ago for last night for my 2 year wedding anniversary. I specifically requested a booth because of my anxiety and discomfort being around too many people. we ended up getting seated at a 4 top table by a the main walk way facing the cooking area that goes from the hotel thru the whole restaurant. i was a bit bummed about that but the food was completely amazing and the service was great.

We always have high expectations when dining here as we have always had amazing service, food and ambiance when dining here. This time around, we walked away scratching our heads. We were seated near the main walkway of the restaurant and everyone who walked by bumped our chairs. I’d requested secluded seating...I also noted it was my wife’s birthday. The server asked us if we had room for dessert and I politely reminded her it was my wife’s birthday. She said she’d be right back, to get the complementary chocolate mousse. Approximately 20 minutes later, she returned with it. No check..I asked if she could bring it and after about another 10-15 minutes she finally came back with it. All while this is going on, the loud party of 6 behind us was so loud other patrons were looking at them. I walked away from this dining experience wondering what happened. Never have we had such lackluster service at the Mason Street Grill. If the manager would like to contact me, I would be happy to explain my experience.

Mostly satisfied. Ordered the holiday turkey takeout dinner for two, since Covid meant it would just be my wife and me this year. Curbside pickup was slick, albeit so poorly packaged that items tipped over and salad spilled into bottom of bag before we even made it a block away. Generous portions in the delicious meal--enough for leftovers! However, one item I ordered extra (& really wanted!) was conspicuously missing: Mason's famed mac & cheese. Turned out they didn't charge me on the receipt, but it left me disappointed.

Couldn't find a steakhouse that didn't require a reservation so we "settled" for Mason Street Grill. The service was excellent. We had a waitress, named Shelly. She was phenomenal. Very friendly, social, and courteous/professional. I ordered the braised short rib, and it was also phenomenal. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes and some grilled shallots. It was topped with sliced horseradish. The combined flavors are something unique and very satisfying. I'm here in Milwaukee on business. My co worker ordered the ribs and he would not stop raving about it. On top of it all, the fries are probably the best fries I've ever had. Overall, this restaurant is definitely a must-go if I ever return to Milwaukee. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are looking to eat something other than steak. I would be willing to bet that their steak is just as amazing.

I did notice afterwards, table over from us had sent back what appeared to be their steaks as I saw manager present when food returned to the table. Great service. Mediocre main course experience.

This place is very good. The food is good, but more expensive than a typical steak restaurant. You get good food and upscale atmosphere. The service was also very good. The only issue I had was the burger was cooked medium well instead of medium, but it was still good enough and I never send food back. I would reccomend this place if you're looking for an upscale place to eat and don't mind paying a little extra.

Treated like Royalty. The place was elegant and busy. My date moved to sit right next to me so we could communicate better. Our waiter Mario, was very conscious about our time budget. I visited Mason Street Grill before a show at the Pabst Theater (which is walking distance from the restaurant). I had a phenomenal experience. Parking was easy to find and they have valet service as well. The menu was ample and the food was delicious. Their drinks were great too and the atmosphere was wonderful. I like Mason Street Grill well enough, but I feel you are definitely paying for the atmosphere and not the food. I have visited twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times were with work, as I would not elect to go there otherwise – the price is too steep for just okay food. For our lunch visit, I had the Fried Lake Perch sandwich, which was delicious. The portion size was decent for the price. On our more recent dinner visit, I tried a few more items from the menu: Roasted Beet Salad (Pretty good, although the beets were either bland (red beets) or soaked in the vinaigrette (golden beets). The watercress, goat cheese, and candied pecans really pulled things together. The red onion was forgettable until you got a bite, and then overwhelming) We ordered a selection of sides to share: Roasted Broccolini (weirdly flavored with an overpowering and salty dressing. Would not recommend.) Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes (the best of the sides we tried) White Cheddar & Smoked Gouda Macaroni & Cheese (I love mac & cheese but this was so bland and disappointing.) Roasted Brussels Sprouts (fried in a bland but light batter – good texture but no flavor.) I ordered the Pan Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops for my main, and I was pretty disappointed. The scallops were cooked well, which is rare, but the accompaniments were so odd…puree and the glaze was so odd together, the bacon just overpowered the scallops, and I didn’t pick up any of the thyme. The addition of the tiny apple slices was also odd. At $40 for a tiny portion of 3 scallops, I would definitely not recommend this. I was glad I had ordered the salad to start and tried the sides, or else I would have been left hungry. The service was good throughout the evening (thank you Elizabeth and the other staff who took care of us). All-in-all, Mason Street Grill is a solid place for dinner downtown, but it is pricey. If you’re looking for good service and ambiance you’ll find it, but for me, the quality of the food and the cost doesn’t match.

Just absolutely amazing. Many (many, many) years ago, I worked as a cocktail server at Mason Street and I have always been a fan of this restaurant, having returned several times for special occasion dinners and drinks with friends. We came in for our wedding night dinner and when I say that we were treated like royalty, that is putting it lightly. From the moment we walked in, I felt as though I was walking on air. We were immediately seated (in our requested booth) which was great because I had been thinking about the food for weeks! Our server Dan and his comrade Francis were absolutely phenomenal, which still doesn't seem a fitting enough word to describe just how extraordinary our service was. It was as if they were able to match a server to our exact personalities and vibe of the evening. He had impeccable timing on everything from how often he checked on us to the delivery of drinks and food. I literally cannot say enough good things about Dan. The manager that brought over our bottle of wine (which again, the service aptitude of the staff we encountered was beyond our wildest imaginations) was polite and funny and sincerely genuine. I haven't even gotten to the food yet! We are never disappointed in the quality, presentation and taste of the food at Mason Street Grill. The salmon and farro were astonishing. My husband's steak was cooked to the perfect medium plus and those delmonico potatoes. . . do not ever get rid of those. To top it off with a complimentary dessert (also champagne earlier to celebrate) was the quintessential ending to our dining experience. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the food at Mason Street Grill. Our dining experience on our wedding night had only enhanced the most perfect day. I am forever grateful and thankful for the superlative experience and treatment we received. Thank you from the Greens. :)

We had dinner here this evening and will certainly be back! This is a trendy downtown restaurant with easy parking at the Pfister. The gin and tonic I had, as part of happy hour, was better than anticipated. Or server was prompt, helpful and knowledgeable concerning the menu. I had their house chopped salad and filet served with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli. The filet was done perfectly as ordered and the sides were as well. All in all, an awesome experience!

I'd rate this visit 2.5 stars if i could, but I'm rounding up because we were there at one of the busiest times of their week. I expected MUCH better service. The food was fantastic. Our server, Heather, was very good, but overloaded. Mason Street is typically a fantastic restaurant where the higher cost is justified by the quality food and service. Not this time. The good: We had lobster gespacho, trout, scallops and brussel sprouts. All very well prepared. The line was backed up but even the scallops were at temp with good texture. The trout was bland, but passable. The NOT good: It took almost 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine. We were already considering switching to glasses because we were running out of time to enjoy a bottle. They didn't have the bottle we requested. Heather brought another bottle saying "My manager recommended this 'comparable' bottle that is a few dollars cheaper." Unfortunately we realized too late that while the same grape, it was not even a close style match (more syrupy fruit, where we chose the original for it's mineral characteristics.) It was obvious that wine wasn't Heather's area of expertise. Normally I'd expect a restaurant like this to send a sommelier or manager to recommend an alternate. Another annoyance was water. My water glass was almost empty for long periods of time. Normally trivial, but again, the service was not in line with expectations. Especially since we were at the chef's counter with staff passing by constantly. My final complaint was when we needed the check, the floor manager seemed like he looked right through me several time as I tried to get his or the other manager's attention. (Again, we are right across the counter from the line.) Overall, we left having enjoyed the food, but felt that this time, the experience didn't live up to the final bill. There are so many excellent restaurants in Milwaukee. Hopefully the next time Mason Street is our choice, the service will be up to match the quality of the kitchen.

We had such a great time at Mason street grill! Ambiance: leather seats, fine glassware. I would suggest wearing business casual. There were plenty of people wearing blazers, but also nice jeans or dresses. Servers are wearing ties and vests. It's cool that the prep area is open for everyone to see. You can hear the live music from the bar trickle into the dining room Food: so damn good! To start - fried oysters were amazing and fit the Mardi gras theme for the weekend. I had gumbo which was not very heavy, so a great way to warm up. My husband had the chopped salad. Then for dinner, I had the rainbow trout and the butter sauce paired perfectly. But, if you are going there and are wanting the best item on the menu, the 35 day dry aged steak was even better. I was a little jelly I ordered the fish once I tried the steak. Luckily my gullet is pretty much a bottomless pit and I got what my husband could not eat. Sides: the Mac and cheese and mash potatoes were good. Dessert was the carrot cake. According to the server, Graham, the chef has been tweeking the recipe for 20 yrs. I'll believe it. It was that tasty - it was dense and moist and the icing paired so well without overwhelming the cake itself. Drinks:. I stuck with Brandy old fashions - great. The hubby got beer - I'm not sure if you can mess up beer. The beer list was extensive as well as their cocktail menu. Service: Graham was great, explained the menus, knew the specials, and was overall knowledge regarding the menu! The assistant servers were fast to clear away the emptied dishes.

Had lunch here today with my mom and had a delicious, well prepared steak. When dessert came up my mom made a comment to our server, Michael, about my favorite dessert I had a few years back that came with a milkshake and their chocolate cake. He told us unfortunately it must have only been for that summer as it was not on the menu. When he returned I was only expecting my chocolate ice cream but sure enough he showed up with their cake and an absolutely delicious full size chocolate milk shake. I recently started a new job and went here on a work lunch meeting with some clients. It was a great atmosphere and the food was delish! I got a turkey burger and fresh fruit and both were very yummy!

Service was as good as you'd find in upper Coruscant, but their poorly spelled "Tonkotsyu Ramen" left a lot to be desired. The broth was bland, the noodles were soba not ramen, the pork belly was not well seasoned, sparsely placed scallion, and the lone pickled mushroom was a joke. Poor attempt at being "hip" at a steakhouse.

It's on my short list when in downtown Milwaukee. In the Pfister Hotel complex. A great place for Filet Mignon, med. well, blue cheese crusted with bearnaise sauce. Jazz trios most days of the week in the bar. There's the Pfister, then there's everyone else.
