This place is such a treasure!! My omelette was cooked to my specification and the Belgian waffles were heavenly! Good portions are commensurate with the price of the food. And the staff was very friendly and patient. Would highly recommend !

Very good! Visiting Milwaukee from Houston for the week. Ma's came up as a good breakfast spot. Was not disappointed! Had the 2nd breakfast special with French toast, eggs and bacon. All very good! Staff was friendly. Place clean. No complaints! Would definitely recommend!

This was the first time I've ever eaten "ma fishers" breakfast at traditional breakfast hours. Normally I eat at this place right after a night out on the town. All in all the breakfast was very tasty.

Great place to go with a group who can't decide what cuisine they want, because there's a big selection here. I've been with groups at different times when people have gotten gyros, burgers, pasta, and breakfast all at once. Always good food and filling portions. Most recently we had great service from a nice young man in a bowl hat, and the hostess was friendly, too. The atmosphere is simple, understated diner; nothing special but nice and clean.

We drove from NY for the football game and wanted some diner food. NY’ers love diners!! This was by far one of our BEST experiences. We came at a perfect time. Sat right down and were welcomed right away. Our coffee cups were never empty, the food was made to perfection and so quick!! The French toast and biscuits with gravy were oh so amazing!!! Friendly waitress and attentive coffee runners. Next time we visit we will definitely be returning.

My boyfriend and I came by to eat dinner last night. We were greeted nicely and checked on regularly which was great by the way. Our drinks were good too. But honestly the food didn't meet much of our expectations it tasted like frozen or reheated food. Not to mention my boyfriend asked what kind of meat the liver was and the waitress just said "it's just liver". We didn't eat much of our food and left. I've been to other diners around Milwaukee who can out do their food. Great service but questionable menu.

I hadn't had proper diner food in almost a decade, so when I moved back to Milwaukee, I had to come to Ma's — this place hits the spot every time. No other ma'n pop place comes close to the breadth of the menu or the comfort of its stick-to-the-ribs biscuits and gravy. And the pie! I rarely get a slice, if I'm honest, but just knowing the pie case is there for me to peruse is more than enough home for one returning expat.

The place is a diner. Unfortunately they're no longer a 24/7 operation. The food is lackluster at best but you keep going back. It's overpriced. You can get an amazing burger for the exact same price at a few places on Brady street. Their fries are sus. I'm banking on frozen. The soups are good but way salty and certainly don't remind me of anything made from scratch. The appetizers remind you of warmed up Costco frozen section snacks with caviar price tags. Im surprised they do well with all the other options out there, but diners seem to do well in Milwaukee.

Great food as always! We stopped for lunch My wife had the steak & peppers wrap I had the Monte Cristo which is my favorite sandwich to get at any Greek restaurant. However the one made at Ma Fischers was absolutely delicious! We also had chicken dumpling soup which was awesome.

The coffee wasn't hot. It took 15 minutes for a new cup. No one came by for refills. Service was slow. Food was fast and alot! Soup was warm, not hot, but the dumplings were great. Visited 2 days in a row at different times, lunch and dinner. There was no energy in the place and the front end was just standing around both times. Used to love this place. Not sure what happened to it.

Ma Fischer's is one of those restaurants that is hard to find fault with. They've been in business for years and have filed off all the rough edges. All the food is somewhere between great and 'good enough'; their service is exemplary: fast, friendly, and accurate.

Came from Chicago, IL and tried this place with little expectations, but they really knocked it out of the park for a big breakfast for 2 for about $33 plus tip which included 2 entres, 2 coffees, and 2 biscuits on the side. I made my own sandwich with a biscuit and I'm still drooling over it. We were greeted, seated, and treated quickly to an awesome experience. They clean up the place well and promptly, bathrooms are tidy, waitresses friendly and helpful, food came out within 15 min, and our coffee and waters were always topped off by the staff. I highly recommend this place! We will definitely return.

This is a cool place for brunch. They are so popular not only for th 24-hrs service, but also for their delicious breakfast. We like the omelette, the French toast, the waffles and chicken and their special Ma's breakfast. Their price is reasonable and the portion is big enough ( or a little bit more than enough) for a yummy brunch! My review about dining out in this place is a different experience. We came for dinner, and ordered an Enchiladas. The tomatoes were rotten and smells disgusting. The bean was old and tasted bad. We told the staff about it, but they only said the will check that out and actually didn't do anything. It was so disappointing. Our friends were happy with their meat loaf though.

Old school diner in the best way. The chicken dumpling soup is perfect and I found a tuna sandwich that was not all tweaked and finessed and made into something other than comfort food. My server was friendly and just right for checking on me. The atmosphere is definitely diner and if that's what you've been missing....welcome home!

As you can see I got a lot of great food at reasonable prices. I started with chicken noodle soup with thick pieces of both chicken and noodles in a lightly salted broth and huge oyster crackers that slightly softened in the hot soup. That was just the starter. Then came the main attraction-the Chicken Alfredo. I got fresh off the kernel corn. Yum! I love Ma Fischer. It is a true East side staple. They were also very accommodating to this Disabled Dinner. Go and have fun there.

First time here and probably would not return. Typical diner food nothing special. Had the Ma’s special which consisted of French toast, 2 eggs and bacon, ham or sausage. Server did his job, nothing more nothing less. He was adequate I guess. There are so many diners in the area and this one wouldn’t stand out in my mind at all.

Service was good food was okay. The food was cooked very well but some stuff was off/weird. The hollandaise sauce was weird like it was diluted with something, and the grits were okay, a bit watery. Also the coffee tasted like dirty water, was very weird. The chicken and waffles were great. The skillet was good, eggs were cooked well. Would ask for less cheese next time because it’s covered in cheese. Edit: Have been here quite a few times now and the food has been really consistently good. Just didn’t like what I ordered the first time. That being said I can only speak to breakfast stuff. Omelettes are always amazing. Haven’t had the hollandaise sauce again.

Great shakes and burgers, best for a late night hang out I love Ma's. I've spent many late nights here with friends, and not just because it's open later than anywhere else. The menu is super large and not all of them are fantastic, but if you find what's good, you'll always leave happy. I love their burgers and shakes. Their breakfast also gets good reviews

No matter how bad my day is Ma Fischer's bring out the smile in me. I was having a bad day because of the way I feel. I have been to the doctor but still don't know what's wrong but I never give up. So I went to treat myself with Ma Fischer's and just look at it. Absolute perfection. I enjoyed everything including the patio made for me. Of course I had a great time. So will you day or night. Service today (9/5) was 👌🏾👌🏾 (Everything was cool til the yellowjackets forced everyone indoors...I'm (me, personally) aware that it's "their season" right now, but management should take extensive measures to set out more than a few "traps". Like six or seven yellowjackets cleared yall ENTIRE Saturday brunch patio 😂 Do better next time and leave BAIT (as in FOOD) so they'll ACTUALLY leave your patrons in peace. Thank you!!!

Ma Fischer's has been around for decades. Favorite place for a hearty breakfast after a hard night. I have always enjoyed my meals here. Prodigious servings, you will get full. I've never had a problem with the people who work there. They are friendly and efficient. Ignored the entitled, this is a great place to get a meal. It is in an interesting part of Milwaukee. When you get done eating, check out the neighborhood.

There is nothing truly special about this place but I think that's what gives it the appeal it has. It looks like a classic old school diner but it waited by young workers which was a surprise to me. The food isn't anything special, it's diner food, I had the hangover skillet, it's cooked well and has alot of food in it. It's right for the price and the area. Feels like a great place to just eat if you need a bite. Check it out, it's close to some other great places to check out!

I wouldn't call it a diner. It's more on the side of the restaurant.. lots of choices. I chose the meat loaf. It was good. Kinda dry. I also tried the chicken parm and it was basic. The server recommended the rice pudding for desert and it was not a hit. Matter of fact it was the worst rice pudding I've ever had. Although I should say that it was the first rice pudding I've ever had and I think I'm gonna stick with bread pudding. Overstayed our welcome cuz while all the signs and the menu say they are open 24/7. They actually are only open to 9pm.

Would’ve gave it 5 stars, but my grandma’s take-out order had mold on sandwich bread, so she wasn’t able to eat it. I dined in with my family for the first part of our meal & the food was pretty good, however I must note that the sausage tasted old or dirty. The waitress was really nice & patient, being that it was our first time there. This spot has really great lighting (for my ig lovers) & a nice interior. You definitely get your money’s worth w/ the food, being that the portions are large & filling. My grandma ordered a Reuben sandwich to go & when we arrived home she discovered the bread had mold growing on it, so make sure to check your bread!

Great service for a 24 hour joint. Falls into the tourist trap category where there are 50+ items on the menu that don't have enough care put into making them good. If you have tons of ingredients, they can't all be fresh/quality. Skillets were good, waffles and biscuits/gravy were sadly mediocre. Good service and speed

This place was VERY packed, but don't let that deter you, it was MORE than worth the stop!!! They have multiple different dishes, of many kinds, and do breakfast, lunch and dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Potato Pancakes!!! Their servers, althought being railed by the amount kf people in there, were amazing through the stress, so give them big tips 💜 TL;DR, They are excellent. Visited here during 3rd shift, they have a prepay requirement and an automatic 15% gratuity late at night. The gravy on the country fried steak was fantastic. The burgers were good, but cooked more than requested. The soup was kind of bland. Not bad, and would like to visit again soon to try other stuff on the menu.

This is a great breakfast place for me and my daughter. When I'm on the east side of town and going to have breakfast, this is a place I like to go to. There's many other good places, but this one has a menu that I'm more familiar with. The service is excellent. They are quick to get you seated and to serve you. The food is great and the prices are reasonable for Milwaukee. It has a wonderful atmosphere inside. Clean, well-lit and nice seating. It feels upscale, but not necessarily upscale prices. I like it a lot. My daughter and I especially enjoyed the pancakes. They are fantastic..

I know things have been rough on everyone since COVID, but it seemed to hit Ma’s a little harder than most. We’ve been coming here for almost 25 years, and I’m sure they’ll return to form eventually, but this last visit was underwhelming to the point of disappointing. It wasn’t the staff, it was 100% the quality of the food. It just wasn’t there like it usually is. Again, I’ve no doubt things will improve for them soon, they’re an institution after all.

This restaurant is one of my favorites. If you're there on third shift ask for Alla. She's a great server. I always get and recommend the pecan French toast. It's incredibly simple but it works on so many levels. The coffee cups are extremely small but the coffee isn't that good anyways so no big deal. I highly recommend it. Just don't go expecting Michelin star food or service. Just a small diner with decent food that's open all night.

Ordered back on New Year's and loved the food. Docked a star for service as it really could have been better. I get that it was a VERY busy day, but we called 4 times, were put on hold for about 5 minutes each time, and were hung up on without ever actually getting through. My 1st time here, heard great things so had to check it out. Nice staff and the booths and lighting were perfect. My food was amazing but my drink not so much, they didn't have strawberry lemonade so I got a regular lemonade and it wasn't the best. Also orderd a strawberry milkshake that was too thin...if that makes any sense, it was like it was just strawberry milk in a cup.

The regular servers here honestly go above and beyond to help their customers (one woman helped a woman call a cab and was extremely nice about the whole thing). I also get breakfast here quite frequently and I’m always in and out in under 30mins! One of my favorite places in MKE!

This place hasn't changed in the decades I've been going there (well they've remodeled but still). Lately I've had a BLT monkey on my back and I'm never unhappy by Ma's BLT. Also like the club sandwich. Anything off the breakfast menu is always great, too. Service always above average, prices always fair. It feels like going home.

Favorite hungover breakfast spot of me and my friends. Don't go in expecting the best food you've ever had; get the food you would expect a diner to be able to deliver. Everything on the menu is available 24/7 just like the diner itself. Wait staff may not be your best friend, but be patient they know what they're doing. Been here plenty when it was busy and never had an issue. I'd put it between 3/4 stars, favoring 4 due to price and options.

I've been coming here almost weekly for about a year now since i moved nearby. From the first day to my visit last week, I've never been disappointed. Excellent service, my coffee cup has never been empty for more than 30 seconds. thanks to Miguel! Great food, with large portions for your money, never can go wrong with Ma's Special #1, or the spaghetti with meatballs. Atmosphere is also great, love sitting in the big booths and staring out the big windows watching time fly. Me and my roommate definitely consider this our second dinning room, especially during the days when we chow down while studying.

Went here with my friend several weeks ago. We are both Air Force and were both wearing Air Force gear and another customer thanked us both for our service. An institution for a reason. Exceptional breakfast, fun late-night dinner, and the quickest coffee and water refills I've ever had. You have to pre-pay for late night, but that's because they used to have a lot of dine and dashes. Biscuits and gravy and the skillets are hard to choose from, as are the pancakes. The management and staff are like old friends after a few visits and it's a great place to run into your neighbors and friends from afar alike. I judge all diner breakfasts against Ma Fischer's.

Went after bar close on a Saturday so the place was packed (and Pizza Shuttle had closed early??). Our server had at least 8 tables so service was very slow. We almost left before she greeted us because we were getting tired. My bf ordered food and I ordered pie. Only the entree was brought out so I had to wait an extremely long time before I could ask the server to bring my food out too. Luckily there was help refilling waters and coffees. They require you to prepay and leave a 15% tip so even though the server was pleasant, the service was far from great. Next time we're going to George Webb.

Our first dine in experience anywhere since the starting spread of Covid-19 in April. We felt very comfortable and safe from contracting the virus in the restaurant, all staff were wearing proper PPE and social distancing was considered with the table spacing and placement. An amazing new outdoor patio seating area has been installed offering even more safe dining space. We saw constant cleaning and sanitizing and all guests followed the mandated Covid regulations. Anyone not eating/drinking was wearing a mask while in and moving around the restaurant. Thank you for all the work you have put in to make us feel safe and part of the living world again. Plus, still the BEST patty melt in Milwaukee and all of Wisconsin! Our favorite thing on the menu anytime of day.. Ma Fisher's is doing all the right things 👍

Ma's certainly has it's merit as a late night restaurant, but it's not a good place for an all around good time. The food is good, but the service is almost always inattentive and rude. Be careful if you go after 9:00 pm, because the servers almost universally try and tack on 30% to your bill as "gratuity" to probably try and squeeze some extra cash out of the drunk clientele. You can haggle this off your bill, but it's never going to be fun or easy to do. All in all, go if you're desperate for some good, late night food, but don't be surprised if you come out questioning the value of your visit.

This place is great. The most expensive item is $13.95. Average price is $9 for a ton of food and options. After 10pm they require you to pay in advance but tip is automatically included. If you go during normal hours you pay at the end of the meal and you determine tip. Friendly staff. A classic!

First we had to ask for a server, then they forgot my daughters drink and my appetiser. And to top it off I found a hair in the meat of my hamburger. As my family finished their foods I was too grossed out to eat. I told our waiter and he sent the owner over, who never apologized! Soup was a huge bowl, really too big with the sandwich and fries. I enjoyed the food a lot and left with a to-go box. I would go back if we are in the area. One thing was little wierd, they made us pay the bill up front and included the tip. The waitress said it was because it was "3rd shift". I was thinking maybe they have had issues with people running off and not paying.

Ahh forgot to put this here before but just recently I visited here for the very first time and I gotta say the food is amazing! Staff are very friendly and excellent service. If I get to come to Milwaukee again I am going to make sure I stop here!

I had a gyros, which comes with fries and a bowl of soup. The soup came right away. I thought Iwas going to get a cup. A full bowl of chicken dumpling. The Gyros was piled high with a bowl of fries. Good Gyros reminded me of Greektown in Chicago. I will definitely be back.

After the club u have 2 pay 4 your food N advance due 2 idiot's dining and dashing. Overall since its 24hrs they strongly need security. Think about it consumers come there highly intoxicated ready 2 fight and are very irritable. Safety comes first be4 filling consumers Gawd damn belly. Overall I did Xperience a quesadilla not properly crafted and at nitez they dont prepare macaroni l, only during the day... Very sociable and suitable 4 a nice bite 2 eat after late festivities. Expensive but it's kind of worth it because of the amount you get. Good food all around, pretty decent service. They do make you pay for your food before you get it after 9 pm. Also is a 15% gratuity included into your bill. Only spot open 24 hours.

Been going here since my college days when Jimmy Carter was prez. My 2am after bar restaraunt stops are long behind me but still stop by for an occasional breakfast or lunch. In the morning I always go withe the homeade corned beef hash and for lunch either a reuben or French dip. A great Milwaukee institution.
