Great hidden gem! If you have an opportunity to stop in and grab a pastry or lunch, you will not be disappointed. The staff and patrons are very friendly. Love the quesitos!!! Get there early if you want a loaf of bread. Look forward to stopping by again soon.

Lovely little café in a quiet residential area on Milwaukee's near Southside. Spotless glass cases display delicious pastry and desserts, and they the stars here. Feel free to order one of Johanna's sandwich options if you're looking for something more substantial - they are really tasty too. Specialty coffee options are also available. Service is thoughtful, customers super friendly.

Best pernil I've ever had. And I've been to Guavate PR! Incredibly tender and flavorful. Also appreciated the drink recommendation from Juan - Champ's and Captain. Neighborhood is cool. Reminds me of where I grew up in MI. Staff is welcoming to all guests even those who aren't Hispanic. We only had one PR restaurant we were going to go to and it surpassed expectations.

My husband and I have been coming since opening day, every other Sunday. The food is consistently delicious and super fresh. All their sandwiches are made to order and their pastries are always on point. Can't recommend them enough for breakfast as well as lunch for Puerto Rican delicacy and hospitality. The music, the atmosphere of the place always feels like being on the island. =)

I was too excited to eat and took the picture in the middle so i think that says it all. The food was absolutely delicious. I went for lunch; mofongo, rican rice, pernil it was Puerto rican food with flavor to take you back and feel like your at home. We also ordered some baked goods; some were a little too sweet for myself. But overall a good experience.

First of all I must disclose that I don't know these people from Adam. With that being said, I am really impressed. This is not your typical Milwaukee Mom and Pa corner business. The owners have to have spent a lot of money revamping this place. Every detail is new. Every item my wife and I ate was surprisingly good. We are "quesito" aficionados and I must say these are in fact the best "quesitos" we have ever had anywhere, including Puerto Rico. We had the chicken and carne frita plates with rice and beans. We tried the sorullitos and the tostones as well. We were impressed with the quality and taste. The prices are very reasonable. The people at the counter were very nice and pleasant. There is nothing like being away from home and getting a "mi amor" when you order. I am just glad I live half hour away because I would be here every day. Congratulations to the owners.

All items are made fresh and are delicious. By far the best Boricua spot on the Milwaukee map. Worth every penny and every finger licking compliment. The Jibaritos de asada are soo good and the parcha is amazing. Great rice and the customer service is always excellent. I look forward to them expanding into a bigger spot but it is located in an excellent area.

I personally know the owner and she’s put her heart and soul into this company. If you haven’t tried it out, you NEED TO!

Opening day review! Opening day can be scary however, visiting at the busiest time which was lunch for me gave me a nice glimpse on service. I appreciate that they took the first come first served approach and that every piece of food was freshly cooked for us. I highly recommend Johanna's cakes. They also have a call ahead option which may work better for those who prefer to pick up and run.

Johanna's Cakes & Desserts is our go to when hosting a party or event. The mixed trays are great for large groups. The tornillos are amazing, people always ask where we got them. I am typically not a huge fan of flan but the coco flan is incredible. Johanna is reliable and friendly. Looking forward to my next order!

Had mofongo con pechuga for the first time here! I don’t have the words. Absolutely Fantastic. I’m actually disappointed that I’ve gone 27 years without knowing about it. I feel like my family has let me down by not telling me about mofongo. Best decision of 2020, so far. Went with a big group of friends and everyone was over the moon about their choices. Highly recommend!! You don’t know what you’re missing until you come here! I want everything on the menu and all the desserts. 10 stars 👏🏼

We tried the Jibarito de bistec with puerto rican rice and mufongo with pernil. Everything was absolutely delicious, but the Jibaritoooooooooo. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! That sandwich was pure perfection and the steak was so tender. Let me not forget to mention the customer service. Patient, kind and so thoughtful, with a beautiful smile. It feels like you've been invited into someone's home, for a meal made with love. I'll most definitely be back!!!!
