Spent a couples evening with my sweetie. Love Fat Valdy's! Mexican food prepared by Mexicans. Being from Texas, I wouldn't have it any other way! If you like oysters, you will love their dozen! Raw oysters with avocado, shrimp and picante sauce! It is may favorite. I have gone back many times for this dish! MUST TRY THIS PLACE!

The food differs in quality and taste each time I go. It's usually good, sometimes awesome and other times just okay. The service at the bar is slow and one young girl bartender has been incredibly rude several times. The bright spot is a bartender, I think her name is Adriana, and the mariachi band that plays on occasion.

we had a party of nine. made a reservation. arrived and seated promptly. the drinks were a little slow to come but were very good. food came in usual timing. food was excellent. the waiter was great. everyone enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks and food. we will definitely be back. Food was okay but way too noisy for a Sunday afternoon visit. First they had a mariachi band going around. I love mariachi bands but only in their place and a smallish restaurant dining area is not the place or time. Then whenever the mariachi band would quit playing, they would blast music that would cut in and out sporadically. So it just wasn't my idea of a late Sunday afternoon dinner.

The buffet is awesome and truly all you can eat, if I learned anything by asking them for "just a little" shrimp!! Everything was delicious though, and I'll take bottomless mango juice any day. Thanks for the great lunch, folks!

I brought a friend here for his birthday lunch, the first time for both of us. First impressions: friendly and clean. We were greeted and seated by a very kind young man, and our server came over immediately for drink service. We chose the buffet. It was not huge, but it was packed with so many different (and new-to-us) flavors. I tried several things I'd never had, including a little stuffed crab thingie. I didn't love everything I ate, but that's my own personal preference. I did enjoy trying new things. The flavors I did enjoy were amazing. The coconut shrimp was an excellent surprise, the tortillas were wonderful, and the other meat dishes were full of flavor. There were 2 drawbacks, but not enough to subtract a star from the rating: The dessert portion of the buffet was disappointing. I was hoping for flan or tres leches cake, instead of the mallomars and Swiss cake rolls provided. And when the lunch rush started, the staff had trouble keeping the buffet stocked. I waited over 5 minutes for fresh tortillas. We're looking forward to returning soon.

The lunch buffet was amazing. The selection is almost overwhelming but it let's you try lots of different items. The price at 25 bucks for my girlfriend and I, that's a steal for what was offered. The staff was friendly and on top of everything.

We just ate there & I would rate it as the best Mexican Food in the entire Metropolitan Milwaukee area ! My wife and I both had mole assorted enchiladas, my wife's sister also had assorted enchiladas but with the traditional red sauce & her other sister had the seafood & meat sizzling fajitas. I tried some of everything and it was definitely the best of any Mexican dinners of all others in the entire County if not farther !

Food was tasty. Lots of delicious seafood options, including a fish and shrimp Pico de Gallo that came with two other salsas and house made chips upon sitting at a table. Lunch menu has many options, and is a decent value. Staff is fairly attentive. Food arrived quicker than expected. Some more care could be taken to ensure cobb webs we're cleaned from corners in the ceiling, and the floor could have used another sweeping. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Busy place. Took home out leftovers to find a plastic fork was broken off in our leftovers. They serve with silverware but they apparently stir with plastic forks. The food was great except for the next day.

The lunch buffet was good. Just wish there was more taco options from the buffet. Also the margarita tasted like pure grocery store bought syrup BUT I would still go back and maybe just order a taco dinner and grab a beer and not a marg.

Great Mexican style food; fresh ceviche, spicy salsa, and tasty hot fajitas. Wonderful atmosphere; during dinner... you can buy a rose (at your table) for the ladies, the bar is quiet, and there are tvs for sports fans.

This was my first visit here but I have been to their Chicken Palace on National Ave. several times. I would say that their food is very average at Fat Valdy's. The flavor of my pork in salsa verde was good but I already have a high standard for Mexican food. The prices were a little high for Mexican food and the quality. Like I said it's very basic. The reason for the three stars is because when I see shredded cheddar cheese on a Mexican dish I immediately so NO that's not authentic! With Mexican food cheddar doesn't make it better it makes it not Mexican. I did order a Michelada and my wife ordered a piña cold neither was anything to rave about. Either way it's a ok place and maybe it was just the time I visited.
