Small speakeasy in Walker's Point offering all day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, sides, kids menu and creative cocktails. They also serve a fish fry "all day every day". Make your reservation online, and when you arrive ask the counter person for an Ice Cold 7up. Next thing you know you're sitting in a room filled with red light ordering cocktails in fun, creative glasses. I ordered a Don's Old Fashioned and Cheesy Jalapeño Brisket Wrap, and the table shared the Cheesy Tots and Taco Fries, which each came with small sides of salsa and sour cream. The Old Fashioned was perfect in taste and size, and the Wrap was big but manageable with lots of flavor. This is a great spot for dinner with friends or the family. Fun, creative and worth more than one visit.

Well this place was really neat before the pandemic, but now it's an absolute gem. Food is good, if not stroke inducing, and reasonably priced. Service was great. Atmosphere is vintage 80s, with lots of neat things to look at. The $.10 martinis are legit, be careful. Their breakfast food is out of this world and the burgers are excellent. Only gripe is 18% gratuity on all tabs for staff, prior to tipping waitstaff - it would be better to put this into the price to begin with as it's somewhat misleading, i.e. raise prices by 18%.

First, our server was awesome! After confirming it was our first time dining at this establishment, he explained the different menus, special shake and etc. Now on to the ambiance- It's a diner, with a retro aesthetic and it's pretty dim. The tables were really clean, from what I could see and there was anime playing on the screen. I'm an anime lover, but there wasn't any sound, so I enjoyed the visuals. Maybe that was a good thing or I wouldn't have focused on eating my food. We ordered the breakfast melt, taco fries with over easy eggs, custom shake and grandma's got a new wig. Everything was brought out pretty quickly and was delicious. It's a really decent serving of food and we definitely needed to-go containers. My beverage was loaded to the top with ice, which I knew would probably happen. I wouldn't purchase it again, but the presentation is cute.

A very fun spot! We made an “appointment” and were very excited to be let in. The drinks were strong and delicious with fun additions. The food was good for diner food but wasn’t anything special. I’d say it was a bit pricey but you’re paying for the experience. I’m excited to go back for ice cream!

It's a very cool concept and atmosphere! Everything from the menus to the booths to the decor is spot on. We went for breakfast. Christian took really good care of us. The Mandalorian Mule is super delicious. The food was good, but I'm not sure I would encourage anybody to order the pancakes (fruity pebbles or plain Jane) again. The birria burrito was nice. The biscuits and chorizo gravy were alright, as was the steak Benny. The real star of this breakfast is the toast. Which was obviously toasted on what I assume is a very well seasoned griddle. I mean, it was superb and definitely not an afterthought.

Love the booze the milkshakes and cannot beat a $0.99 burger. Our server, Danny, was really committed to the ambiance and patient letting me decide on my shake. Checked in twice to make sure I liked it. Will most definitely will return.

Fun, unique speakeasy style bar and restaurant that will take out back to the 80s. When you first walk in you’ll find a small shop and few arcade games. However, if you know the password, the host will take you back to the real experience, complete with retro TVs and old shows/movies playing. They specialize in cocktails served in Geeki Tiki glasses as well as shakes (boozy and non-alcoholic). The menu has a good variety and for brunch there’s something for everyone from sweet to savory. Definitely the kind of place to come back to try different things.

First of all, you need a secret password to even get into the restaurant area. Then when I was seated, I find out it's only One dollar for burgers because that's the special ever wednesday . The ambience of this place sets the mood, and all I could think about was eating some good food. I need to visit this place again and you should too.

Went there for brunch and had one of the best shakes ever! Would highly recommend getting the salted caramel, there were lots of fun topping options, I personally got coffee cake on top. Ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were incredible. Will definitely be coming back to try the pancakes next time!

Super neat restaurant. You say a password to enter the establishment, and a host will take you back behind a door to the restaurant and seats you. Awesome boozy shakes, and great food! Retro atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

The breakfast burrito is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Everyone at the table agreed that I won the ordering game, but French toast, breakfast burger, and chicken & biscuits were all appreciated as well. We all got the "opposite of a shower beer" mimosa and it's so cute!

Don’s is a cool spot with a unique atmosphere. Hidden behind a grocery/liquor store, Don’s offers probably Milwaukee’s best smash burgers, boozy shakes and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Different themed areas of the restaurant take you back to the 1990’s. Like I said , the smash burgers here are the best I’ve had in the Milwaukee area. The Wisco burger I ordered rivaled butter burgers from Solly’s. Fries, tots, and cheese curds were served hot and well seasoned. A full bar is offered. Service was friendly and well paced. Don’s is great! Can’t wait to go back.

This is such a cool spot. Retro vibes from exterior all the way through. The cocktails are awesome and the burger was really good. Definitely recommend the cheesy tots. Booked easily through OpenTable and they have the entrance instructions listed out. We went around Christmas and the place was gremlins themed which was fun! Next time will have to get a milkshake!!

The nine of us recently dined at a wonderful restaurant called "Don's TV & Repair Speakeasy." From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that my dining experience was top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious and the flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the presentation of the dishes was beautiful. I also couldn't resist trying one of their desserts, and the shakes were heavenly. Overall, I had a fantastic time at Don's TV & Repair Speakeasy and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service.

I think that this speakeasy/restaurant deserves 5 stars due to it being the clean lest restaurant iv been in it has the nicest staff and holly heck is the food definitely worth 5 stars . I definitely will be coming back!

I went here with some friends. I assumed the food would be mediocre and that a place like this would rely more heavily on the unique experience as the crux of their business. I was delighted to discover I was completely wrong. The food here was stand-alone delicious. Our table enjoyed a burger, onion rings, vegetarian burrito, scrambler and donut holes. We also partook in the 10 cent martinis and a boozy milkshake. I would venture to say that the food actually surpassed the "gimmick" experience. I mean, once you are past the delightful "cashier" whose sheer joy of getting people to ask the password is sweetly contagious, the experience itself is mostly decor. I will absolutely be back to this place. For the food. And so I can point to the VHS tapes on the wall and say to my kids, "You know, back in my day...." Totally 100% worth it.

PRO’S: -restaurant has a fun concept -decorated nicely -1¢ tots Tuesday’s , $1 burger Wednesday’s - tons of drink options CON’S: -drinks are not free refills (sodas, teas, etc) -burgers come plain and if you want toppings like lettuce and tomatoes it’s an extra $1 (called “the works”) -pricing online is different than in restaurant (chicken tenders online listed as $9.99, in restaurant it’s $14.99 for just 4 tenders no sides) -entrees don’t come with any sides and for some of the entree prices it’s should include at least fries. Overall, my experience was good. The food was just like any diner. My burger was greasy but the tots were good! I do want to return to try out the breakfast menu.

Wednesdays: 99 cent burgers! Thursdays: 10 cent Martinis with the purchase of an entree. Cute date night spot, definitely a novelty. Food was as good as a 99 cent burger should be. Service was great, drinks were fun. I’d come back after dinner for dessert since they have boozy shakes that come with whole ice cream sandwiches! You should go!

Don's is a great little neighborhood spot on the southeast side in a fun speakeasy setting . During our visit we sampled a variety of different items and particularly enjoyed the all day breakfast items. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly. There is also plenty of street parking. My only critique is that like many other older buildings in the area the restaurant has a number of stairs and is not very handicapped accessible. Installing a small ramp at the side entrance could easily remedy this situation. I still recommend this establishment based on all of the other aforementioned reasons.

The atmosphere is great and very fun! Our server was very attentive and friendly. The food is not the best and you don't get a side with your sandwich. If you want one, you have to pay for it. The drinks are good but expensive. I'd recommend brunch over the dinner food.

This place was so much fun! It looks very unassuming on the outside, but the inside was crazy. The drinks and food were great, staff was nice, and the place was very clean. It was super fun walking through a 7up machine too. Definitely make some reservations if you're going though since it fills up fast, even during the week.

Fun night celebrating birthdays. Pablo was our server. He was engaging and fun. We had reserved bar seating for 6 of us. The shakes were awesome. Must have reservations as there are not a lot of seating options for large parties. We had six in our party.

No reservations, luckily we got in within an hour and it was sooooooo AMAZING! Absolutely everything was perfect the mimosa ✈️ was to die for, the brandy old fashioned was made to perfection, compliments to the bar tender George, Hats 🎩 off to you sir And the chicken and biscuits were mouthwatering, so appealing to the eyes but damn near the perfect twist on the breakfast classic of biscuits and gravy. The scenery alone is worth going back for Enjoy!!!!

Surprised my partner with this little hidden gem and it was a huge hit! You have to say the secret password to get in and it’s an 80’s blast from the past once you’re in. The burgers & chicken sandwich were both great, especially for the price point. I didn’t have any of the fun drinks but heard they’re delicious. We will definitely come back with the kids next time!

What a fun little kitschy experience for some old fashioned food and drinks. Centered around a speak easy theme with a quirky twist we enjoyed our time here. The wait staff is phenomenal. The food is basic but perfectly done and is just a neat out of the ordinary little excursion. Thank you!

Fun place for brunch. From the speak easy store front ( the secret password is all around you😉) to all the 80s memorabilia through the restaurant. We had reservations for 11, including 3 kids, and we're very comfortable with our accommodations. Not sure what the daily menu is like but the brunch menu was great. Everyone was very happy with their food. They also offered a selection of boosey shakes, which were delicious. Definitely recommend reservations, atleast for brunch. The place was jump'n. But not crowded. There's a lot of space, including a bar in the back. Would definitely recommend. Fun place fun concept. Fun decor. Video games, garbage pail kids, even life size gremlins. Lots of cool 80s stuff. Plus good food. Go check it out!

This far-out place is just Kool, Kool, Kool. It's in the 3rd Ward and the exterior appears as your basic southside corner store, when I'm actuality, it's not, it's a dark grotto of a speakeasy, hidden behind the Dons TV Repair Store Storefront. And when you enter, even yet it still seems you've entered a corner. BUT, ask the cashier at the counter if you can indulge in an ice-cold 7-up, and you are directed through a, I believe, an old fashion freezer door, into a retro grotto, dark and with the 1980's tron decor, a sleezy arcade and Pulp Fiction. The vibe is laid back and fun and the ice cream boozy drinks are OUTTA THIS WORLD!!!!

Went on a Saturday with my wife. Really cool, lively place with a secret entrance and a crazy decor that feels like you are in a pop culture dream world. Service was great and weekend dinner was limited to mostly sandwiches, which were tasty. Tots were righteous. Specialty drinks are all TV and movie themed with their own tiki mug. Really fun, casual place. The only downer was the 18% gratuity they automatically charge everyone without warning or asking which they say is for Covid-19 cleaning, hosts and bartender. It was further explained that we could tip more if we would like and that would go directly to the servers. So, I normally tip 20% but now I have to tip 38% so my server is properly compensated? Not cool. Give your customers a head's up and/or choice in the matter.

The dining room was clean and comfortable. The gal the greeted was very nice and our server was aiming to please. I liked the variety on the menu. We both went for burgers and the wedge salad because, as I always say, if you can't get a burger right then, the rest isn't worth it. It's definitely worth it here. I got the burger with the fried egg. Beautiful and a good size. The wedge salad was wonderful. I loved all the bits and pieces that came with it. A little cucumber salad, a half egg, the dressing was good, as well. The burger was prepared well and wrapped up in paper, which was a cute touch. I can't wait to go back and try the shrimp and grits.

Never judge a book by its cover. This is a local gem in Milwaukee and I’m glad I stopped by. Seating is limited so you’ll want to try to get there early. Once you do, you’ll be happy you did.

Had the Beef Tenderloin and French Onion soup specials along with a few old fashioneds, and my wife had the "pot pie" without the crust. Honestly one of the best meals we've had in a while. We both loved the laid-back, relaxed and vintage atmosphere. We will definitely be back again soon!

My first trip to Don's Diner was for the Stanger Things themed pop-up. It was pretty cool, I definitely had to try the Wisco old fashioned boozy shake...delicious and its $5 off during happy hour! We had the naughty Angel burger. For the $10 price tag Don's needs to step up their game....it wasn't bad but I didn't get that 'wow' feeling and it was very pink in the middle. It does come with good fries though, and the salad was good sized. I returned today to try the 'boozy old fashioned french toast' shareable. Well worth it, tastes as delicious as its description, although I did not detect any 'boozy' in it. Casual atmosphere and it plays '80's music, I would definitely recommend it. I have to come back to try the Bananarama pancakes.

Wonderful diner. Great food. Bologna sandwich was unbelievable! Sundried tomato jam was perfect condiment. Didn't miss mustard at all. Beef tongue corned beef hash was awesome.

Visited Don's for brunch on a Sunday. We were the first ones here, and grabbed a seat at the bar for a bite to eat and some cocktails. The cocktails are amazing. You're going to see some things you don't usually see on a menu, but we tried 3 different drinks and they were all great. The food was excellent too. Their menu is definitely more of a few things done the right way rather than a huge menu of average food. Their bologna sandwich is great, and enough for 2. Their pancakes are very unique as it is made with a soda batter. The truffle eggs are also a favorite if you're into truffles. Lastly, their cakes are amazing! They have a cake maker who makes fresh cakes every couple days. You will see the cakes on the bar in large cake trays. The last thing I'd really like to compliment is the diner itself and the service. It feels like you're stepping back in time to a dining experience of yester-year and the friendly bar tenders and cooks are more than happy to make small talk with you.

Burger was ooey gooey and just a bit too greasy. Drinks were great. Service was fast and friendly. Be aware that burgers do not come with sides and there is a mandatory 18% added to all bills for the staff. Not a problem but just giving the heads up!

We had an awesome repair man, dont remember their name! We got the crockpot old fashioned, it was pretty good. Also had a "Grandmas got a new wig" which I didn't try but no one complained about it. Reminds me of At Random with the 80's theme and a bit of Safe House with needing a password to enter.

We came on a busy Saturday morning and had drinks in their back bar, naughty angel, before getting a table. I ordered the truffled eggs... I need to know how they make those because they were amazing. We tried one of their boozy shakes too... My husband loved the old fashioned one. What a FUN experience!!! The drinks were so cool! The food was good for the most part. The Fruity Pebble pancakes were a bit lackluster to me. But not bad. The biscuits and gravy was SPICY. My son loved his burger with the special sauce on it. The burbon donuts were to die for! I love the decor and the speakeasy setting. The staff and service were incredible. An interesting take on a 50's style diner, this mew Milwaukee restaurant has lots to offer when it comes to breakfast, shakes, malts, or just a plain old Friday night dinner with the family. Great place for small groups and quiet fine dining.

Great fun atmosphere! My husband and I had the single burger with tater tots Very delicious burger! We also had the beer batter onion rings they were amazing! We then tried the bourbon donuts a perfect finish to our meal. We were stuffed. Good food great service, waiter checked on us better than a fine dining restaurant we loved it!! The entrance has a secret front entrance with password. Great place to go to have a good meal and neat fun night! Went here after reading the high reviews. Tried the golden Cadillac milkshake, which was great! However, it took about twenty minutes to come out when there was only one other occupied table. This was a common theme throughout the meal, we often would order more drinks when we were halfway done with our current one. Ordered the lamb meatballs and the panzanella curds. The meatballs were a bit dry but the noodles had a good taste! I would not get the panzanella curds again. They were too salty (likely due to the capers) and the bread was hard and chewy. I could not cut the bread with my knife, it was more like I ripped through it. My friends enjoyed the old fashioneds but I will likely not be back. It was too expensive for the quality of the food, especially the service.

Went to Don’s for weekend brunch and it was a lovely experience. The server was attentive and went through the menu and their recommendations and the food came out hot and delicious. We had the brunch burger and the breakfast burrito. I feel like Don’s is one of those places where you come for the food but you stay for the cocktails which is exactly what we did. Their drinks were fantastic! We also had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake (alcohol) and the Bloody Mary. This great experience makes me want to go back at experience their evening speakeasy vibes.

Made a reservation for two. Showed up and got seated in the darkest room I have ever been in for dinning. The lighted part of the restaurant looked far more inviting than the back room we got stuck in. Waitress was nice. First came our water which was warm and served with no ice and and just tasted like flat tap water. We placed our order for a few burgers, fries and cheese curds. (Note, had to use flash on phone to even see the menu) I found the Food was ok for what it was, my burger came with everything on it when it was ordered without any toppings but the cheese and bacon. My wife really enjoyed her burger and their Nasty Angel Sauce. My coke was just a can of coke. It would have been nice to be able to see the food I was eating but that back room was just to dark! Also ketchup and mustard are delivered in packs silverware was delivered my request only. Prices = fair 18% tip added to each bill to cover all staff. Wanted to check it out and we did but doubt we would return.

We didn't like the place so much, but I can see why other people would love it. My breakfast was fine but ordinary--eggs over easy, two sausage patties, horseradish potato pancake, and toast. (Oddly, the server had to dig around somewhere to find jam for the toast.) My s.o. had a breakfast sandwich--also fine, but the bread (kind of like Texas toast) was thick and overwhelming. Our server was attentive, and the food was brought out in a timely manner. The kitschy atmosphere is cute, but the music was too loud, and the lighting turned our food into unidentifiable black blobs on the plate. They add an 18% "service charge" to the bill, but the server said it's primarily for Covid-19 expenses with the rest a general gratuity. On the bill itself it says that the 18% is a gratuity that goes to all workers (Covid-19 isn't mentioned), and additional gratuities go to the server. Management should probably clarify all of this somehow. In any event, for us the place was a 3/5, but I can see this being a 4/5 or 5/5 for other folks who love the "1970s and 1980s meets Speakeasy" theme.

The food was very good but the prices are outrageous. $9- $10 average for a sandwich with no sides which are extra. A shake that isn't better than any place you've had shakes. The atmosphere is dark, had to use my phone to read the menu. The theme is Gremlins or at least it was where we were sitting. In the end you're paying for the experience and shakes with booze in them. It's up to you how much you feel it's worth. I'm glad I did it but there was nothing special about it. If the food was more reasonably priced I would consider coming back but as it is, one time is enough. I wish them luck.

Food and service is amazing! Only thing I would change is that during Covid there is an 18% gratuity charge that goes towards cleaning supplies and not the server. Instead of adding it on at the end and having the servers be at risk of now getting a tip, I would prefer they have those expenses built into their food prices.

We had a great burger and drinks at Don’s (let’s be real, the idea of a boozy milkshake is what really drew us in). The “speakeasy” concept and cool decor were perfect for the setting. My only gripe was that the environment was overwhelming; between the loud dance music and alternating TVs playing movies or just static. But again, that’s more of a personal issue— as long as you are looking for a treat in more of a “bar” setting, you’ll have a good time!

Cool place, if you are looking for somewhere unique and different serving bar food. I had the Spicy chicken sandwich was pretty good and so were the cheese curds. Mixed cocktails were way over priced and i was even charged more on my final bill than what the menu reflected. I must say they were very eager to rectify the issue which I appreciated for that fact alone I will recommend this place and will be back myself to enjoy the novelty of it with friends and family.

Everything was great except my sandwich. Timely service and friendly staff. We were shown the back even though they didn't have to. The fries and tots were good. The hot chicken sandwich had soggy breading and was tough as if it was heated in a microwave. The flavor was disappointing, definitely not a $10 sandwich. My friend said the creamcity burger was great. Edit: I have since went back multiple times. Their chicken bacon wrap is great. The staff is always so nice and let us reserve a section we want. We honestly stopped here because the wait for the restaurant we originally wanted to go to had a long wait. My first impressions are that I loved the atmosphere/design of the place. It had beautiful pink neon lighting, nice plants, and a cool wall in the back. The staff was really welcoming. It’s kind of weird that we had two waitresses, but understandable. One serves drinks, the other serves food. The lady who served our drinks did a good job of coming back, but the lady who served our food could have checked in on us more frequently (my company practically finished their food when she had returned). Food took a long time to arrive considering it was all deep fried and the place was not packed. Moving on..let me tell you...NEVER order their fish fry! It’s absolutely disgusting. I feel it has way too much breading on the fish, the potato pancakes are too thick and not the best in flavor. Additionally, you have to pay separately for the syrup (I have never encountered paying extra for syrup when ordering potato pancakes with other places I get fish fries). The rye bread is thick and you have to ask for the butter. Basically everything is too thick and could be seasoned better. I honestly feel like I wasted $14.50, and I’ve never felt like I hated a fish fry until today. The only thing I liked were their fries (those were actually tasty). If I ever decide to return, I’m willing to give their breakfast a try and I really wish I would have just ordered breakfast for dinner instead.

Have been here many times and really loved it, always would recommend it too. This was our fourth time eating here since COVID but first indoors since they did the TV repair thing. It was....weird. I miss the old version that was just a good diner with good food. Didn't feel the need to go back, was really weird eating in what used to be the Naughty Angel bar. It was super dark and the bar stools are way to tall for that bar so you're hunched over like crazy. Might be a while before we're back.

This was our first visit to Don's diner and cocktails. A different restaurant used to be in this location. We enjoyed the food. The menu is breakfast burgers and sandwiches. I had the veggie burger which is not something I would normally order but it was very good. We also liked the cauliflower appetizer. I am giving it five stars because of the service. You were left feeling like they really were appreciative that you came. On the way out three different employees thanked us for coming. And that's a rarity these days.

I love this place. Just ordered for the first time and will be ordering again - came in clutch with $10 champagne to celebrate my new job !!! HOWEVER, I got some Reese’s cups as well and they were all weirdly dry and a little gross looking. I still ate em but also my bf tells me that I ‘have the stomach of a billy goat, eats literally anything’ so 😅 definitely will order again, but probably opting for a boozy Reese’s shake instead of Reese’s straight up. :)

The atmosphere of the place is wonderful and, first and obviously most importantly, the drinks are AMAZING. Service is fantastic. I don't think there's a single thing on the menu that isn't delicious! For me, eating out is very hard because I have two major food allergies - wheat and eggs - that make nearly everything dangerous. The kitchen staff and my waitress, Karly Jean, absolutely kicked a**! They made sure that I could still eat what I wanted and didn't cause a fuss or make me feel like a problem. I'm so grateful! It's so rare that I get to enjoy a restaurant these days. A BIG 5 stars!

They did a very nice job on this place. I miss Circa 1880, as that place was great, but Don's is great for a replacement. I got chicken pot pie. It was in a ramekin and had a puff pastry top. Good flavor. My wife got the ruben, and holy s**t that was good. Definitely home made corned beef. Little kids split a burger, and it was one of the better burgers I've had in Milwaukee. I didn't love my bloody Mary though.

I am very appreciative and thankful for the reservation option on their website, I had a larger party that I was able to reserve for and they accommodated us beautifully. The "Hey, It's Rachel" sandwich is the best option on the menu in my opinion based on what all of us ordered, I would say it's a must! The boozy shakes were good but very pricey, I wouldn't say they are a "must have" - but the P.B.C was my favorite of the bunch. Overall this is a pretty neat spot to snag some good food and hang with friends!

Don’s Diner was a great experience for our late brunch. We had a bigger party, 7 including 2 toddlers. They did a great job accommodating us and the kids. The place itself was really exciting to be in, lots to look at and lots of throw backs. Service was great, Julia was super nice, patient, and helpful (we are a demanding bunch). She did a great job. Everyone’s food came out at the same time. I had the Benedict- hollandaise was on point and the pulled pork was fantastic. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered. Boozy milkshakes for the grown ups and regular milkshakes for the kiddos were fun and delicious. Prices were great. Our bill for 5+2 kids was $120 which included a bunch of cocktails. Definitely worth it. We’ll be back!

Service was wonderful. And the food was great. We took our kids for a shake and fries after some fun downtown. However this diner doesn’t serve fries! And they have kid shakes but nothing really more of an option than pancakes or french toast for littler ones and we were already full on pancakes for the day. I was surprised not to see a kids menu, even a small one, when I knew they make kid milk shakes from posts seen on social media. We’ll go back again but without any small ones in tow. Had I known they didn’t have fries we def would’ve gone elsewhere. We still had a nice time and staff was all wonderful.

I ordered a milkshake, and it was amazing! I want to go back for food and cake in the future. My friends ordered brunch, and they had nothing but great things to say about the food. While waiting for seating in the diner, we took a seat in their back bar area...I loved this concept/idea! Their diner area is instaworthy with it's plants, unique pictures, and subway tiles. All in all, I will be back to Dons for more in the future.

Wanted to like this place more. Only stopped in for drinks. The front bar is weirdly stocked with no back bar to see what spirits they have. The cake we tried looked better than it tasted. Far more savory, almost a corn bread style of cake. The milkshakes are made to the consistency of milk, this might be a preference this but it defeats the purpose of milkshake. The back bar is really where it is at. Super cozy and has a nice selection of spirits.

I really liked our server he was so nice. I actually would rate the server 5 stars! So I've been dying to eat at this restaurant due to all the pics on IG, I think the people that frequent this restaurant go for the boozy shakes and drinks, they look really good. I was torn between the fish fry and the tatnachos. I was like "you can't go wrong with fish. Boy was I wrong my fish was mostly crust, I wanna say it was burnt but it wasn't exactly burnt just fried extremely hard with little signs of the flaky fish I'm used to. The lady at the other table ordered the tatnachos and those looked really good, plus she kept repeating about how delicious they were. If I go back I definetly will make a reservation to sit in the front room that's where all the action is. Also I must say all the employees there are extra welcoming and they acknowledge you when you leave too, I like that, if it wasn't for their excellent hospitality I probably wouldn't even think about a second time, So I will maybe try breakfast or those tatnachos the next time and ofcourse a boozy shake.

My bloody Mary didn't have much flavor; added salt and pepper myself at the table. My corned beef was good but way too spicy towards the end and I really enjoy spice. It has a nice atmosphere though. Will try again.

A friend and I went here to check it out for the first time. We saw a lot of hype on Instagram about the Scoops Ahoy pop-up shop and got excited to go. The food was fantastic. Oooh boy, that giardiniera grilled cheese was unreal. I’ll definitely go back for that. Or at the very least order online to go. But honestly, the service was sub par. We sat at the bar and were ignored for a good five minutes before we finally asked to have a menu. I know we were noticed, but no one said a peep to acknowledge we sat down. I worked in the service industry for years, so I get the business and stress. But it takes a millisecond to say “hey, I’ll be right with you, one sec.” Not only that, but the bartender that wasn’t directly serving us (because he kept pushing off our requests onto others) was very snippy and not welcoming. It felt rude to both us and his coworkers. Again...stressful evening? I get it. But still. The two other bartenders/servers/FOH managers or whatever their position, were very kind. Also it was hotter than ever in the place. Was the AC out? We asked the one kind guy and it sounded like he told us there wasn’t any AC at all?! (If that’s the case then I do understand why everyone was so crabby hahaha.) Needless to say, we ended up eating great food, so I’d go back and give this place another chance for that alone. But the off-putting service and sweaty atmosphere made us ditch the pop-up event we came for and go get a treat elsewhere.

We came here for brunch with our family on a Sunday and it was well worth the wait! The service was excellent and the entire staff is friendly and accommodating. Because we had to wait a bit longer for our table, the manager sent over a free round of drinks and the chef gave us dessert on the house. Not to mention, the entrees were phenomenal! The burger, truffled eggs, chicken and biscuits, and pancakes were all delish. The diner vibe in the place is cool and edgy with a small bar in the back. Highly recommend and if you’re on the fence, run- don’t walk to try it!

I literally heard heard about this place 20 min before we walked in.. I was anticipating an old school diner... I was pleasantly wrong. A woman was leaving as we came and and recommended the duck duck foie was awesome. I had the beef tongue reuben ...It was awesome... friend got the blackened fish... he loved the spicy kick....he highly recommends the twice baked potato. Don's Diner was a very neat environment with great service, but the food and bloody Mary seemed to kind of miss the mark. i ordered the Cajun Chicken and biscuit with andouille gravy. It came out hot and was a ton of food, but the gravy had a weird seafood taste. It came with a choice of potato salad or sauerkraut as a side. I opted for sauerkraut, which was fine, but could have used more vinegar. The side choices seem weird for the sake of being weird, in my opinion. Actually, the whole menu seems kind of weird for the sake of being weird. I heard a few tables around us just ordering a la carte eggs, toast, and bacon, since they had a hard time choosing a meal. My wife had the piggies in a blanket pancake dish, which came out as black pancakes with some bacon, pecans, and syrup and it was just okay and it cost $15. I think we had a hard time because we expected a place called Don's Diner to be upscale diner food and not a chic reinvention of what breakfast could be.
