Quality food with a great atmosphere. Conveniently located and has a nice menu. Their specials and happy hour is nice! Also like how they support the local schools with the fundraiser coupons! Clean restaurant and hardworking staff. Great wings and their plantains and guacamole are AMAZING! Would recommend!

Sat outside on the sidewalk area seating for dinner. The table service was friendly and helpful, and the food came in a reasonable time even with a full restaurant. And it was delicious - one of the best Latin food restaurants we've encountered inside the USA.

I never knew about this place till today. The food was really good and the prices were very reasonable. When you first walk in / up they have the menus, you can take the menu with you and sit anywhere you want. Once you’re ready to order you come back up and they’ll take your order. The food comes our very quick and warm. I had the biztec sandwich with french fries, yuka fries, and plantains. The food was delicious!

Molly was our waitress. She has amazing attitude. Greeted us kindly with her name. Food is amazing! Had plantain chips and guacamole. Superb. For entree I had the pollo tropical with yellow rice and Molly suggested the black beans. She did not miss. Would 100 percent recommend!!! The plate my bf had was The Lenchon. Both came with mojo sauce which has a citrus flavor. They had spanish music playing loudly which felt like a club. Something I enjoy. If you want it to be private, it's not the place for you.

I haven’t been to many Cuban restaurants (or any that I can remember recently), and this place didn’t disappoint! I love guavas, so I had to try their guava mimosa which hit the spot. I got an appetizer of their plantain chips with guacamole. The guacamole all by itself was fresh and delicious, and I really enjoyed the plantain chips with it! For my main course, I went with the ropa vieja, which was shredded steak with a tomato sauce, onions, and peppers that came with a side of beans and yellow rice. The meal was filling and super tasty! I will admit though that I did enjoy my girlfriend’s pollo asado Havana bowl even more! Also know that we were lucky to get a table, so definitely make a reservation before you go. Overall, the staff was excellent, the food was delicious, and you should go on a nice summer day to enjoy their outdoor seating!

Very close to our hotel, the Pfister. Wife and I figured why not try Cuban food in Milwaukee? Ordered a Beef and a Spinach Empanada with our mojitos, raspberry for me and passion fruit for her. Both drinks were very good and we enjoyed both empanadas. Both had bowls, rice with different type of protein and a vegetable. She had Vaca (shredded beef), I had Pollo Asado (chicken). We sampled each other dish and agreed chicken was the best. It was prepared with a chipotle sauce and gave it great flavor. Beef was good although if it came with chimichurri, it would put that dish on top in our opinion. Atmosphere was lively but just a tad to loud to hear my wife. Maybe it's just me getting old. 😋

Lives up to the hype! Cubanos are one of my favorite foods, and Cubanita's has the best one I've ever had. And with a Pina Colada? Perfect meal right there. My friends and I split the guacamole + plantains platter, but I would just get the normal guacamole with plantain chips next time. The sweet plantains and the chips on the platter were great, but the plantain "pancake" was dry and we didn't even eat the rest after we each tried a bite. Busy on weekends, so this is a great place for a weeknight happy hour, and even on a Friday afternoon!

Stumbled into Cubanitas on a business trip and I'm happy I did. The restaurant has a homey touch that I liked. I tried the empanadas and carne con papas and they both were packed with flavor. My waitress, Aniuska, gave great recommendations and was lovely to talk to!

Loved the whole experience here!! The wait staff was delightful and helped us select the best items! We got a lot of different foods — plantains with guac, tres leches cake, different bowls, the ribs! Would recommend the steak & the ribs for sure.

Giving it a three out of five simply because of service. Food was fantastic, we had the watermelon mojito that was the special flavor of the month and it was delicious, owner greeted us at the door and was friendly. The waitress gave us our check without asking us whether we were ready to leave or anything even though we still had food on the table. Rude to say the least since we were thinking of ordering another round of drinks and dessert. But again, food and drinks were wonderful.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of going to places downtown in Milwaukee. This place has a great atmosphere, friendly staff. Most importantly though, the food was excellent. Even the kids menu chicken fingers were something elevated to a excellent level. Every dish was well executed and made me want to go back. And I'll be back for sure. Very reasonable pricing too.

Two of us came here for a dinner just a little before Christmas. We had good service and overall, the food was good. Cocktails were a bit on the sweet side. We definitely enjoyed the platter of the different plantain preparations. I wish the fried yuca strips were cut into thicker strips.

When you just open the door, you hear salsa as a musical background that at once makes you feel at home for those of us who come from the Caribbean. you order directly with the cashier and a few minutes later your food arrives, and when you taste it ... BOOM an explosion of flavors on your palate. simply spectacular!

This place is authentically authentic Cuban food owned by a Cuban family. And this is coming from a Cuban American. The food is delicious and very hearty. It is traditional Cuban food not like what you see at other restaurants in the area posing and offering "" Cuban food. They have great drinks and a happy hour every day a specialty drink at six dollars. The ropa vieja and palomilla bistec (steak) are delicious and the green and fried plantains are as well. They have wonderful service by the owners and the other folks that work there that are very helpful. And they have outdoor seating which is also very nice unless when it's snowing of course. I went for dinner and I will be coming back for lunch tomorrow

Went in an odd hour. The food was really delicious and the service was fast. We loved the cuban music there and the vibe is home-dinner style so not too fancy for two travelers. Do try the smoothies if you want something nonalcoholic!

Food was ok, i got a cuban sandwich with fries. Cuban sandwich was descent for Wisconsin, nothing like a real Miami Cuban sandwich (where I'm from) fries were soggy but I was expecting that since I ordered to go. Staff wasn't the friendliest and the bartender who took my order looked annoyed to take the order 🤷🏻‍♂️ place was empty and the other server was just sitting on her phone, not very welcoming.

The restaurant itself is quite small. The tables are a bit close together and it's hidden in between a few other shops in the downtown area. The food quality was good and the service was good. The main thing that I was surprised about was the price! The price is very high for the type of food you get. I paid 6 dollars for a sliced avocado! I had a plate with rice, beans, and steak. My boyfriend got the chefs special with both of us having waters to drink. We also got an empanada the size of half of a dollar bill. The bill for this alone came out to 60 dollars. The concept is great, this is a nice change up from the usual food you get downtown, but these prices are pretty steep for the amount/type of good you are receiving. Also finding parking was a bit of a pain.

First time trying Cubanitas. There was a segment produced by local TV news interviewing the owner - it's a great story and I was looking forward to checking the place out. The guac and fried plantains was really delicious as an appetizer. I ordered the Cubano (naturally) but was not super-impressed. It was a better than average Cubano, but not superlative. Service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was energetic. I'll go back and order another dish.

Ok for the price. I ordered the Ropa Vieja with white rice and red beans with a side of Tostones. Everything was good except the beans, tasted like the dry beans they used where stale. I would try other Cuban spot in town before this one.

My first time being there and I was greeted immediately. I love the whole set up of the restaurant. I especially love the open window seating. The food was ok and the service I have no complaints about. Will I go back? Possibly for their plantain chips. Will I recommend it? Probably not.

Best Cuban food in Milwaukee. The flavors were exceptional. The staff and owner were kind, friendly and open to talking about the area. Best Mojito I have had in a long time. Wow, what a great restaurant. The service was great and the food was even better. I got the lechon assado and it is some of the best pork I’ve had. There mojo sauce is savory with the slightest hint of lime that brings it all together. Really a great variety of food on offer and they have different specials every day. I WILL be coming back

Cubanitas was incredible!! We came on a Saturday night and they were busy but were kind enough accommodate 6 of us as a walk in. We got drinks which were great, then got the guacamole and plantain chips which were sooo delicious. I had the carne con papas at the servers recommendation and it did not disappoint. I also had a bite of my friends Cuban sandwich and that was equally as good. Someone from the management team came over to ask how our experience was and was super friendly. Over all great experience and will be back!

My friends and I ate here before a show at the Riverside and we all loved it. I had a salmon dish that was crusted with crushed plantains, and served with a salsa that made the dish even better. The sides were classic, like yellow rice, black beans, red beans, but it was all delicious. Topping it off with flan won it for me. Service is very friendly and fast. Highly recommend this restaurant.

5 stars for the food. This is my wife and I’s favorite restaurant. The pollo tropical is so delicious, we have never had a bad experience. The plantain chips and guac are also a must. The service is also exceptional. Every time we come (maybe once a month) whether for dine-in or take-out the OWNER and servers always remember us, remember our orders, and are very personable. If you don’t know much about Caribbean food then you will think the food is really good. But if you grew up eating Cuban, Puerto Rican or any other Caribbean food it’s not all that. Their arroz con Pollo tasted like Mexican rice. The rice needs to be granoso and not wet. The restaurant is pretty small with lots of cheap wobbly tables placed close together. Also weird that they don’t give you a menu, you have to look at a menu in the front entrance and tell the cashier what you want right away which makes you rush because other people are waiting behind you to look at the same menu. You have to pay for the food and also tip before you even sit down to eat! How are you supposed to know what service you’re going to get before you even sat down? So while this place was decent, I was not impressed.

I was so excited to try Cubanitas and it did not disappoint! The wait staff was very friendly and our waitress was amazing. I love the look and feel of the restaurant. There are not many places you can get Cuban coffee, so I was glad to order that along with sangria at dinner. The food was really good! I had a Cuban sandwich, but I would love to come back and try more of the menu items. I would definitely recommend dining here and cannot wait to go back!

I’ve long been a fan of Cubanitas. So it’s no wonder I was surprised when someone suggested I consider Marta to cater the Tuscan food at my daughter’s recent wedding. I had totally forgotten that Osteria was Mark and Marta Bianchini’s restaurant. Marta totally got my daughter’s vision. And she nailed the food! It was so good. My friends were raving about it. Their vote for best dish were the lollipop lamb chops. My favorite was the eggplant parm —- outstanding as usual. I loved working with Marta and highly recommend her!

Love the food and the atmosphere. Fried plantains and guacamole are my favorite. Black bean soup, onions and sour cream make a hearty, yummy soup. Cuban coffee like I can't find in Milwaukee. Bright colors cheer you up.

It's kind of weird because I have had amazing recommendations to come here. But I absolutely did not like it. I thought it was extremely overpriced for what you were getting. I thought the Cubans were really not that great. I was a surprise to pay $15 for a sloppy spoonful of slow cooked beef, and a $0.50 worth of sticky rice. I was blown away by how not impressive it was. maybe it's my fault for lifting it up too high due to the multiple recommendations. I know many people that absolutely adore this place, so please don't let my review just make you not go. Go check it out for yourself and make up your own mind.

The food was ok, but I got an allergic reaction out of eating steak. I assumed they cooked it near or in the same place they did the shrimp (I am allergic to shrimp). The greeter (owner?) was not very friendly and made us feel less than welcome that we did not have reservations even though many tables were empty. He proceeded to seat us at the one 2 top available right in a dark corner in front of a very drafty window on an evening of epic winds and rain. Needless to say, it was cold and I wasn't the only one who still had my coat on. The food was not prepared well (burnt empanadas, poor tasting ground beef, and crunchy bits of uncooked rice) and the portions quite small. Rather pricey bill in comparison with the food received, will not return.

We had Cubanitas cater our wedding at the Box, and we cannot praise them enough. We ate at the restaurant before the wedding, and that experience sold us on the food for our wedding. At our wedding, we received so many compliments on the food from our guests. Marta and her team were attentive to our guests needs. Catering with Cubanitas made our wedding reception seamless and memorable. We cannot recommend them enough.

The Cuban sandwich was excellent as advertised, and the drinks were great. I would gladly go back for another one of those sandwiches. Perfect crispy pressed bread, tasty meats, flavorful pickles and mustard. I have made myself hungry just writing this. Why not more stars? The pork in tomato sauce was bland and tasted mostly like tomato sauce. The green plantains were dry, and came with a ramekin of vile onion butter unlike anything I’ve ever had before.

Mojitos are always delicious and the service was great! It's seems like since they've opened a few more locations, the food quality is different. I'm worried that it's becoming too chain-like. Something is off now. I'll forever come for the drinks and empanadas, but unfortunately that's it.

I love the idea of getting Cuban style food in Milwaukee, but Cubanitas leaves much to be desired. The plantain chips and Cuban guac is fantastic. Other than that, nothing I order seems to give me a "taste of Cuba" and feels like something I can put together myself. Granted Cuba is not known for its spices and flavors so in that regard I can understand, but not much outside of sandwiches that don't even come with rice and beans or at least a small order of plantains, many items that I find on the menu are similar to what I can get at Panera Bread rather than being ethnically/culturally distinct (chicken, turkey or tilapia sandwiches). In the end I eat and pay and feel a bit underwhelmed. I hope maybe they can get in a new head Chef that can get more creative with regards to the menu. The service was OK but I didn't consider the staff to be very experienced. We came in early evening with only two other tables taken. Because we were a party of two, the hostess gave us an option of the three two-person tables, all lining the big glass wall (they are doors that open up in the summer for patio seating). This was in January on one of the coldest nights that winter. I sat freezing with my coat on until my boyfriend demanded that we move. Seriously? The place was empty. Put up some heavy curtains, crank the heat or offer to move guests when it is clear they are uncomfortable sitting between the door and a big glass wall in January. I do like the ambiance, bright, sunny, cheerful with family photos on the wall. Very Latin/Caribbean style. I ask for either good portion sizes for the price or at least authentic, away from the usual food and I didn't feel I got either, so it felt overpriced for quality and experience. I would return for happy hour drinks and plantains, not food. Overall, OK

When summer arrives and the windows open, Cubanitas for lunch, drinks . . . or both . . . is a solid choice. The menu is limited but different from its competitors. How often are you offered a turkey, swiss and grape jelly sandwich on toasted Cuban bread?? And it is quite tasty. A refresh on the plantains and guacamole would be nice--or just some other reliable sides/appetizers.

I've been going to Cubanitas for years. When I was in college, it was one of the few places still serving dinner after my late games, so it became a regular spot for me. In recent years, the food seems to have gone downhill a bit, but you can still count on a good meal. Most notably, the mojitos seem sweeter than they used to be, which is a bummer since that's one of my favorites at Cubanitas! The Cuban sandwich and plantains are still excellent. The waitstaff have seemed pretty disinterested on my recent visits, but all-in-all the service is acceptable. While the experience might be more hit-or-miss recently, I'd still recommend Cubanitas to anyone looking for solid Cuban food in Milwaukee.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night. Drinks were reasonably priced and made well! We waited for some time for a table, but we did have 11 people with us. A reservation would have been helpful, but they do not take them on weekends. I ordered the roasted pork and it was awesome! Their steak sauce (which came with my husband's sandwich) was amazing! Their plantains and guac were the best! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We both had the roast pork, and it was very tasty and fall apart tender. I had black beans and yellow rice for my sides, which were also very flavorful. For appetizers, we enjoyed a beef and cheese empanada and sweet plantains. All of the food was great, and I wound up taking half of it home, thanks to the generous portions we were given. My friend had a caipirinha to drink, and she enjoyed it as well. She felt like it was pretty strong and tasty. Service was prompt and courteous. Looking forward to going back again!

One of my top three favorite restaurants in the city. I get the Cuban sandwich, plantains and guac, and an empanada. I love the pickles they use on the Cuban and I LOVE the mustard (wish I could take a bottle home). The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I have never had OUTSTANDING unforgettable service. Its not bad service, its just mediocre. I also gave it a 4 because it isn't always consistent. I always get the same thing and there are times when I go there and the food is AMAZING, and then there are times when it is good.
