Great service by Hailey. Awesome, unique, beer selection. Was a little confused why the calamari appetizer were so few calamari and mostly fries. Anticipated the Turkey Pesto sandwich to be hot; the bun was toasted but the sandwich contents were cold. The Cuban was pretty good. The Bacon Havarti Chicken sandwich looked really good, but someone wouldn't share. ;) Really loved the beer selection though and the fact the Cafe Benelux does serve beer Flights. We'd come back for that alone. And the great service.

Incredible place with lots of energy, great location, super friendly staff and fantastic menu with quality food. Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating options - would recommend reservations for outdoor seating. We were a group of 12 and were seated immediately when we walked in (got lucky!) Like the drink menu, but felt it's a bit diluted. Food selection is great and has options for vegetarian and vegan. Can't go wrong any day of the week, energizer and fun place!

Rented one of the outside domes during what turned out to be a blizzardy night and had a great time. Our waiter was funny and attentive, and the food and drinks were delicious. The experience was a bit pricey, and the domes were a bit wet and cool, but overall, it was a great experience! The domes provided a beautiful space to connect with friends, and the restaurant is spacious and inviting. Great atmosphere and location within walking distance to other bars and restaurants, granted it's not during a blizzard!

Went for breakfast, had the Chicken & Waffles (really good, but I'm glad the waiter recommended the sauce on the side, it's very spicy), and the Beignets, which were not great ... Too dense & chewy. But, overall we loved our experience, & had excellent service. We went back in the afternoon for a beer & they had excellent selection of great beers, both bottled & on tap, including local & Belgium beers. The bartender was friendly despite being very busy

A good way to gauge a restaurant’s prowess is visiting outside the prime hours, in Cafe Benelux’s case they did well. Our waiter was Natalee and she did well and was very nice. Our food was fine however I could tell my sliders was not as fresh and the soup fits more with the brunch menu. Theirs drinks were great (someone has a heavy hand). Overall I was satisfied given the time of day and restaurant availability was great. Just not worth the almost $100 bill after the tip anyway happy dining!

As the go-to brunch place in the Third Ward for the past decade, it's held up well. Crazy busy all the time and the front dining area can get loud and your quite chummy with nearby tables. The menu has evolved since my last visit a few years back with some nice additions. The chicken and waffles as were the omelets came out on point but they surprisingly came up short on the simple stuff scrambled eggs were quite dry and the jelly was food service. Worth the wait as portions are hearty and a great variety on the menu will await you.

Amazing food. Exceptional service. Party of seven can easily share two desert with plenty of leftovers. Left carrot cake and the right is the salted caramel cheesecake. Largest I have ever seen. Both super tasty. Recommend the garlic rose bloody Mary. Delicious. Thanks for making a girl feel welcomed from Colorado!

Been coming here for awhile now and they never disappoint. Was #jbabes first time this Mother’s Day and he seemed to like it. The ambiance and service was really nice. I’ve never had a bad experience here either, and the staff is always on point and friendly. Got seated right away and drinks and food came out just in time. Can’t wait till they can finally open the bigg garage doors and chill on the roof top!! Thanks guys, will definitely be back when summer days finally want to return!!

Food is Great! We had Lux tater tots as appetizers they were amazing you have to try them. For the entree we decided to try something traditional and went with the Benelux Meatloaf. It was great. We also try the Crab cake blt highly recommend. To be honest I would of give them five stars but you don’t serve appetizer at the same time with entree.

Always have had good experiences here. Food was delicious as usual. We came at peak business on Sunday at noon and so the food took maybe 40 minutes, but that's longer than normal. We took my cousin here to show her a great brunch spot in the heart of Third Ward.

This restaurant had really good atmosphere and the food was amazing. I went with the vegetarian sandwich and was shocked by the flavor explosion it provided. We also got the calamari which came with amazing spicy dipping sauce but the bottom was filled with fries so you did not get but a small amount of calamari. The only thing that I really didn't like was the makers mark bourbon cost 9 dollars but then they charged an addition 3 dollars to serve it on ice. First time I have ever been charged for a rocks pour maybe just charge the over priced 12 dollars and skip the ice charge

The walnut burger is very very very satisfying!!! I can't recommend it enough! Also, really enjoyed the space. It was clean, organized, and the staff is fantastic. Definitely coming back!!!

Excellent Belgian-style bistro. The moules and frites are deliciously savory, perfect for cold winter nights. The risotto had a somewhat heady anise flavor, which is the reason I didn’t give 5 stars. My favorite part of the meal was, surprisingly, not the food but the cocktail! They make a killer old fashioned here.

I’ve been here a handful of times over the years and enjoyed it but today was just fine. Got a table quickly and our food came out fast and hot. But service wasn’t super friendly. The food wasn’t as good as it’s been in the past years. Not a bad experience, just not as good as it used to be.

We heard Saturdays are always busy here for brunch but our wait was only 20 minutes on a snowy April 2nd. We were seated promptly upon our arrival and started off with the classic bloody mary which was excellent. We ordered 3 different brunch meals which were all delicious and pretty big too. Service was great, atmosphere was busy but not too loud and we weren't rushed at all. Highly Recommend!

My husband and I were in from Vegas and decided to stop here for a quick drink before going back to the hotel. It’s was such a nice day so we sat on the patio upstairs. The beer selection was was fantastic! What was even better (which was hard to beat) was our server! Madison was fantastic, knowledgeable, and fun! Our one drink stop turned into a three hour stay and primarily because of her. She was training a new hire named Mia, who was also great, especially for being so new. I would suggest this place to anyone visiting Milwaukee.

The Mushroom Hash was outstanding! All of the ingredients were prepared just right! Our table also ordered the Cinnamon Streusel French Toast that was SO amazing! Fun rooftop place for a Sunday Brunch! Check it out! Highly recommend!

Came here for a double date with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The appetizers were all amazing. The calamari was so tasty! The kale artichoke dip was out of this world! I got mussels for my dinner and loved it while my partner had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. They have an extensive drink menu too so everyone in your party is bound to find something they like. I am curious to try out the brunch now honestly. Great Euro style cuisine with a gorgeous roof top and outdoor patio. Highly recommended folks!

Delicious pub food for the afternoon lunch. Treat yourself to a Bloody Mary on the rooftop patio and you will not be disappointed. We thought that it might be a requirement that every server has to wear doc martens…. Go see for yourself!

Great food, amazing views, and so much fun! We came as a 4 pack. Kids enjoyed their food and adults too. Chicken and waffles was perfect. Waitress said “hot sauce on the side?” I told her “no- throw it on.” Damn, it was hot but good. I love hot but I had a tear come down my cheek.

Best brunch food I’ve had in a long time! So may delicious options and everything I ate was so tasty. The line was long but it was so worth it and the waiter was amazing! Overall food and atmosphere was okay. I ordered calamari for the appetizer, but it came after the main meals. Burger was good, shrimp pasta was just okay, sangria was delicious. Food took very long to come out, at least 30 minutes although the restaurant wasnt too busy. Wasnt stroller friendly. Tables were close by so was difficult to go through the tables.

Visited for lunch. Even though we had a large party and the restaurant was packed, we received our food very quickly and our waitress was very attentive. I tried the Jerk Shrimp Pasta and it was delicious - not bland and not too spicy. Also, the drinks were not light on the liquor - not complaining at all). Great experience!

Sumac Salmon-This dish was one of the best meals I've ever had! So unique and flavors were bursting! Chickpea saron pilaf was so light, the salmon was so moist and on top was a chermoula cucumber.. the cauliflower was roasted. There was a yogurt around the dish that was flavored with herbs. The individual flavors just complemented each other. My friend had the Benelux salad, also with salmon, along with candied walnuts, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes with balsamic dressing. This restaurant is a must try if you're in the area.

Always good food. Especially enjoy the burgers; however, the veggie burgers before Impossible took over were better. They are still good from all the toppings and bun. The meatloaf was really good too, quite the flavor to the dish!

Okay I never take photos of half eaten food…. But I’m from out of town visiting and this deserved it. This place.. has a fantastic brunch. This was the short rib fajita hash… 🤯🤯🤯 inCREDIBLE. incredible. I hear the bloody Mary’s are amazing, I’m a beer guy tho and their list is enormous lol. Cool vibe, cool space, big space, apparently has a rooftop? You kidding me? This place is amazing.

Hands down on of my favorite restaurants in America all the way from Alaska to Florida and many places in between World class cocktails, a great vibe, friendly knowledgeable staff, we haven’t even gotten to the food! I’ve never seen such a stacked unique menu. Bring your appetite, bring your friend & family and be ready to have a top notch experience!!!

We stopped here on our way to Green Bay from Chicago for lunch. The location was excellent and very close to our route. The atmosphere was nice with good indoor and patio seating options. The service was stellar, friendly and attentive. The spicy chicken slider appetizer was a big hit. A solid kick for sure but super crunchy and sticky. Very well done! The tear apart bread bread app was full of amazing flavors and a pleasant surprise. The sprocket burger was great with the fried egg. Yummy! My super picky wife loved her chicken cobb salad, too. If you're looking for a good lunch go here. You're welcome.

Well, great service and interior design really neat. Nice big busy fun space. Food 7 out of 10. Dry. Weirdest thing was the music. Something about listening to Ballroom Blitz and 80's hard rock while eating beignet's on a Sunday morning didn't work. At least turn the volume down a notch (or 5).

One of the finest beer selections you'll find, many hard to find beers. Food was great, I had the Cuban. Service was attentive and hospitable. Good location with plenty of do around the area.

Stopped in for lunch with the kids. The Euro theme is what interested us. The Lux Tater Tots were an utter delight of flavor. Very tasty and unique. The meatloaf was great as well. They also have decent kids meals (that come with fruit and vegetable) as well as a great beer selection. We finished the meal with a scoop of Vanilla Caramel ice cream. Be patient as all places are hurting for staff right now. Despite this, though, we were well taken care of.

Delicious food for any meal! Walnut smash burger was SO good I came back the next night for dinner to order it again. Nashville hot chicken sliders were good but 5 alarm hot. Short rib fajita hash was so delicious for breakfast. Outdoor second floor patio is so cute. Paloma was refreshingly delicious and great beer menu. We will be back in a heartbeat!

The most incredible meal I have had! The salmon was bursting with dynamic spices and it had a variety of vegetables that all blended well with the dish and chickpeas. The cocktails were delicious and the carrot cake is huge and tasty as well. Excellent meal and great value. I also tried the meatloaf which also had interesting flavors. Definitely a cut above other places, even in Chicago (where I live). And with outdoor seating, it made the experience fantastic.

We were in on a Monday morning, visiting family and needed a dog friendly patio. This was the perfect spot. Food was great, so fast. Our server, Heather, was amazing. Good service is hard to come by these days and she was great. Both my boyfriend and myself are in the industry and truly appreciate a good, genuine server/bartender. She was awesome. 1st time there. Nice casual atmosphere, scenery, sat on a breezy patio above with comfy stools, server was amazing. Very nice. We had to wait a while for our order. The food was okay. My fries were cold and my burger was a bit thick and greesy, and the appetizer bread was overdone. Granted they are shorthanded and did the best they could.

Top notch experience as always. I thought we would be disappointed by the limited menu, but we ended up loving the selections. The pull-apart cheese bread and tater-tots were amazing! We also had the mussels and the meatloaf (there’s a name suggestion for your punk-funk band). The cocktails might have been the highlight! The Bloody Mary was so good as was the mule, but the Paloma might have been the best of all!

We were seated immediately. Had to learn how to download the menu on our phones. (Something new for us) Breakfast was hot and very good. I have to mention the restroom. Stalls are made out of reclaimed flooring. It looked awesome. Very nice place.

The cafe has a pet friendly heated walk-through patio, so we brought our cat for a lingering lunch before our flight. They were super kind and everyone wanted to meet Snoof. The food was beautiful. I had the Rocket salad with argula, apple, and pear salad with lavender honey vinaigrette, and every bite was incredible. My partner had the Sprocket burger, a patty with fried egg and garlic aioli on a pretzel bun. He made a sound of deep pleasure as he bit in and called it one of the top 5 burgers he's ever eaten.

This place was AWESOME, easily the highlight of the trip. The burger was juicy and delicious. They had a great beer menu and offer flights. The fries were good, not great. The atmosphere was really great too, both inside and on the rooftop patio. Our service was excellent too. Would come back here any time.

We always make it a point to stop in at Cafe Benelux for brunch every time we visit Milwaukee because it never disappoints. Our waitress was Mia S who was very efficient. The Bloody Mary was one of the best I have had. My husband and son are huge fans of the Nashville Chicken and Waffle but have learned to go easy with the hot sauce and not pour it on like syrup 🥵. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Celebrated a special occasion with brunch from here. First time visit for our party. Very short wait for Sunday brunch. Lots of seating available both inside and out. Very urban chic design. Food and drinks were good. Price was not bad for Third Ward. Plates ran approximately $15 and drinks were at least $8. The main reason I am giving such a high rating is service. Every staff member was very friendly and there were lots of them available. Our server, Sarah, was an absolute delight and made the experience fabulous. I would definitely recommend and will go back.

Diverse, bistro style menu that puts a fun & scrumptious spin on classics like the grilled cheese sandwich & meatloaf. The salads are fresh, substantial, & well-balanced in terms of flavors and textures. There were so many eye-catching items on the menu that we couldn't wait to try. Nothing we didn't absolutely love. Excellent food & service plus the view (& cool breeze) on the roof will definitely bring us back - often.

A hot coffee mug and a cold glass of Bloody Mary situated nearby one another on our waitress's tray and the next thing, glass shattered and an unfortunate spill occurred. Nice to know other wait staff lent a hand for the clean-up and wipe down. All that crazy science stuff aside, service and food were great. Highly recommend the Brunch Sausage Corndogs (comes w/ syrup on the side) and the Bloody Mary: Stinking Rose. Garnishes to the Bloodys were tasty. Beignets were a bit on the tough-side, but not bad. I will give them another try next time along with the burgers and mimosas.

Visited Cafe Benelux for the first time while in town. Great atmosphere, very cozy. I tried the Bacon Havarti Chicken which was pretty and one of the new Mule Cocktails which was superb. Our server was fantastic and on point with the recommendations. I would definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Great spot to sit outside.bwe ate on the lower patio. Great to watch 3rd Ward folks. Generous...very generous portions. The Mussels were very good - not too garlicky with maybe a hint of Pernod? Crab Cake Ruben wasn't bad just not very flavorful. We'd go back.

Amazing experience! Best chicken and waffles I have ever had. It came with a sweet but very spicy sauce that made everything come together. I also had a European-style cappuccino that tasted incredible, although the milk was frothed more like a latte than a cappuccino. Overall a great brunch!

We came Saturday morning and are seated at the roof top seating which is perfect! Both the scenery and COVID friendly. I had their ham and bier cheese omelet. Melted cheese made the omelet really smooth and silky. The service is really nice too. People there are super friendly and helpful. And the serving speed is perfect too. Definitely recommend it for a chill weekend brunch time.

We showed up on a Thursday night with 20 people and no advanced notice, they managed to seat us quickly, get our orders, and bring all the drinks and the food out at the same time. Highly impressed with the staff. Food was great. Massive drink menu. If i could give 6 stars I would.

Initially we didn't have a good experience here. The service was pretty awful. When we first arrived the wait was pretty short, the decor was cute and the hostess was great. Trouble started once we got to the table. The server was no where to be found. Once she finally appeared there was no greeting just are you ready to order. My husband greeted her and she immediately got an attitude. All this to say I gave it a five because later that day I wrote and email letting them know what happened. I received a call from a manager within a hour. He was very nice, apologetic and professional. He offered to pay for the entire meal and send gift cards for tbr future. This is definitely a business that knows how to get people back and make up for mistakes. There were no excuses given at all. We will be back to try again.

The food was delicious as well as the drinks. The staff was very friendly even in their rush hour. I had a very tasty burger and a couple of mimosas but I will come back for sure to taste some other things from the menu and have a beer.

We ordered a couple drinks, the sliders, pull apart bread, and cheesecake. It was okay … nothing to phone home about. Sitting upstairs and people watching on a Saturday was the best part. Customer service was very slow & she forgot about us too many times to count but we weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a big deal to us but the table next to us was visibly upset by her lack in time management.

Went here for a group event. Service was terrific, however the ambiance was amazing. Definitely a good spot to visit. Outdoor patio area is heated even in December, so you can also sit outside in comfort. Parking is not great, paid lot nearby.

This is a nice place. Wish I kept the pictures. A spontaneous date night after being away from my love for a year. It is so nice. Elegant and the atmosphere is set for you to be comfortable and intimate. They have big spaces as well. But where we sat was just right. Ever outside was an option even though it was cold outside. Bill was well displayed too

Nice restaurant in the 3rd Ward of Milwaukee. The restaurant had a great roof top sitting area which is wonderful to have a meal and enjoy the day. The food is average at best but the service is great. Hope this restaurant gets on bended knee and appreciates their staff.

I am pretty sure the salmon dish was the best thing I have eaten in Milwaukee. The cauliflower and wild rice was delectable. Would have given more stars if the patio tables weren't nearly all dirty and the staff hadn't started closing 30 mins before they closed; but I get staffing is rough.

I ordered online for my lunch break. I got back to my office and my order was not correct. Although my money was refunded I was not able to enjoy my lunch and was only able to eat the fries. Benelux has been of one of my all time favorites for years and the domes have been on my list. My experience has always been great here. So I booked for my birthday. The dome is super cute and the mugs you get to take home are as well. The specialty drinks included in the package are not great. I would prefer to order what you want vs preset cocktails. I ordered a couple of the add on boards those were good. Our server didn’t have much of a personality. A bottle of wine in a gift bag was left behind and when I reached out the next day it was not able to be located. I called multiple times and left my info but each time the situation was new information to the manager on duty. I have a video of entering the dome with it in hand and confirmed the dome is cleaned between guests. So I’m not sure how it ended up missing. The resolution to the situation I was given was that I signed paperwork that stated they were not liable for lost items and to have a nice day. Subpar customer service at best but we had fun regardless. Great concept with a cute set up but I'm just not sure I would do the dome again or recommend it to friends as being worth the spend. Sadly, not impressed with this experience.

The dome we reserved was beautiful and we enjoyed the Moscow Mules and Hot Toddies we ordered, though it would have been nice to have the ratios on a paper somewhere. We had to make all the drinks ourselves and had to guess at the syrup/lime juice/vodka ratios for a few minutes before perfecting the drink. When we asked the server she didn't have any idea how to make them. The dome itself never got hot but with your coat on it was comfortable enough. If you'd like to feel "toasty" I'd recommend bringing a blanket and drinking fast. After the dome we went to eat downstairs. We were put at a table that got a solid blast of cold air every time someone came though the entrance and the exit. The food was honestly bad and we were very surprised by it. I had the meatloaf that I didn't care to finish- it tasted like chili meat left at the bottom of the pot. I tasted the steak as well which had a strange sweet flavor. An hour after eating my husband got extremely sick from his meal. Overall the dome was very enjoyable but the restaurant itself was a huge disappointment.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered some Nashville Chicken and a waffle made from the souls of cheddar bay biscuits. Also corn dogs masked as sausages covered in corn bread. I was highly surprised; for attempting to get out of my shell and try new foods I was unabashedly pleased at this. Prices are pretty good too. Definitely coming back after the pandemic passes and I can bring my friends. Also the servers are super sweet and professional. Meredith is badass!

Hard to decide what to get at this place all the food is amazing. Had the breakfast burrito which owns all other breakfast burritos probably one of the best I've had. Can be a bit spicy for some but man it is good. The beignets are also great with the chocolate sauce yummy can't wait to go back. Try this place if you've never been it is worth it.

Great location in 3rd Ward. The restaurant group is first rate. Very impressive beer list and well crafted food. Appetizer delights are the bitterballen or lux tater tots. European inspired cuisine that accommodates many dietary needs with well crafted menu items including the vegetarians. As a dedicated carnivore whose partner is vegetarian, sometimes it's difficult to accommodate both with a variety of options that don't just feel like someone "slapped a veggie burger on a menu". Due to the popular location it can get crowded and loud, if you're doing a special occasion reservations are encouraged.

I checked the menu out online and saw the "Hippie Brunch Bowl" I told him we were going. He ordered the Blueberry Waffle and the "Americana" breakfast. The coffee was great, I asked the Waitress and she informed me they recieve a special blend made from Collectivo, and their food is all sourced locally, which to me I love buying local and supporting all the farms and businesses in our area. The music and atmosphere was great and definitely a good place to go for a great selection of beers and other beverages. We will be returning for a Brunch and we'll have to try their dinner menu next time. Certainly give them a visit!

We went to Café Benelux for Sunday brunch. It only took about 15 minutes to get seated outside. It seemed great but we were out on the East St. Paul side which feels very disconnected from the rest of the restaurant. There’s no music or good background noise. Despite that we really enjoyed our Milwaukeean bloody Mary’s. There’s just enough spice and the garnish is tasty. We had the pretzel Benedict which was good but could have used some salt and pepper. There was none at the table for COVID reasons. We get it. In addition we had the Nashville chicken and waffles which was also good. It had a good amount of heat and the syrup added some harmony to it. We weren’t in love with our dishes but we definitely liked them. I’d go back to try more dishes and hopefully get a seat location with more energy.

This is a green of a place located in the historic 3rd Ward off Milwaukee. A must stop. The chill vibe starts at the door with incredible ambiance and prompt service. We stopped in on a sunny Tuesday and stayed for 2 hours. Frankly, we didn't want to leave. Our wait staff was friendly and attentive but not overly so. The beer and wine list as well as chicks was a mile long with a Little something to please just about every pallet. We only had drinks this time but will be back for food soon. Enjoy

Ok. The beer menu is like 10X larger than the food menu, and there is nothing wrong with that. Always busy. Always friendly staff. Outside street seating and an awesome upstairs area If you are in Milwaukee and looking for somewhere to grab a drink and a bite to eat, Benelux is for you.

The food was fantastic. I had the Hodge podge and it had a great mix of flavors. Every bite I would get something different because it's basically food mixed together. Sometimes I'd get a bite of bacon sometimes chorizo and sometimes both with gravy. The tenderloins were good as well but they tasted better after you let them cool and settle.

Service staff was friendly and greeted me upon arrival and kept up to date on the current seating available. The menu is a bit pricey for an average meal but I was satisfied with the overall experience. The house bloody Mary mix is well crafted with a hint of spice but nothing that will burn or make the drink unpleasant, however they did seem a bit small for the price. With that the rest of the food was presented very well, with huge compliments on both flavor and texture. The seafood platter was delicious but slightly failed on the shrimp portion as the smoke flavored was a bit over powering. Pull apart bread was amazing, drizzled with Balsamic which added sweet to savory. With the Gnocchi soup, the stock was seasoned, complimenting the tender Gnocchi. Defiantly worth another visit

Was visiting in Milwaukee and saw this place on Google Maps and it looked like a good place to eat. The restaurant has a great atmosphere about it and the location is nice with access to parking. The food was fantastic! I had the Cuban and it was one of the best meals I've had. Highly recommend this place and if you like salad try the Benelux salad!

Cafe Benelux Domes were something everyone should try. Very awesome concept and overall idea. We surprised my pops for his 71st Bday as he saw the News covering the idea. The rental was about $200 for 90 minutes and that included a Beer Flight. We also ordered a Bloody Mary, Cheese, Meat, and Pickeld Platters for an additional $200....sounds pricey but for a man that has everything it was worth it. YOUR personal Dome server explains everything...our was very informative....the heater was adequate and they provide Blankets as well. The weather was about 38° and raining...But it was fun...they also have games under the table if you choose to just drink. Loved the experience with the family and suggest anyone that wants to do anything different to try it....Oh and the platters were awesome...Great Food enough for the 6 of us!

We had a fantastic experience at Café Benelux! Party of four on a Saturday afternoon on the beautiful rooftop for brunch. We were worried we wouldn't be seated rooftop because we had a wheelchair in the group, but the staff was nice and accomodating and told us there was an elevator. The bloody marys were a hit, if you can handle the spice! All four of us enjoyed our meals, particularly the Steak Tip Red Flannel Hash and the Fried Chicken 'n Biscuts. Cooked perfectly, savory, juicy, just soild meals all around. I would absolutly recommend and cannot wait to go back myself for a different breakfast or lunch/dinner menu. Only negative is they do not take reservations. You have to go in, request to be seated and they text you when a table is ready.

We had a chance to enjoy one of the Lux Domes upstairs in the rooftop. What a fantastic time! When we got there everything was all set up. You can choose different drink packages and we went with the mimosa package. The dome was warm inside and had fun table top games to play. We were to busy chatting so we didn’t play but it was a nice option. You can also listen to your own music on the Bluetooth speaker provided. The food was fantastic. The bloody Marys were delish. Unfortunately our visit wasn't very pleasant because the air conditioning had gone out. The staff made every effort to make us comfortable however we were placed on the roof to get a breeze and it was so hot and uncomfortable. I'm not really sure if they could have done anything to make it better other than maybe copying us some drinks. Despite that, the food was excellent and I really enjoyed their Bloody Marys.

The food was really good but service not so much. We had lunch on the roof top and I know our server was busy but a simple "thank you for your patience " or some type of acknowledgement of the ridiculous wait would have been much better. Still being patient and ok, we decided to go to the bar and have a drink. There are posters up about the beer of the month. When asked, the bartender did not know what type of beer it was or anything about it. We went with something we knew. Bartender did not impress me at all. She wasn't busy, but made it obvious she did not want to speak with us more than necessary. I tipped her well on our first round (I'm also a bartender) and did not get a thank you or acknowledgement of any kind. We left after that. We'll go back and try again because the food was so good, but service needs to be stepped up.

Pele took care of us. This was the best part of our experience. She brought us beer to sample and did not display a hint of being annoyed. After making the beer and lunch choices, she quickly brought us our drinks and respective meals. She continued to check on us during the meal, but not too much. She let us focus on the excellent food at Benelux. When you go, sit upstairs, request Pele and you will have a good experience. BTW, if available, chose Duvel beer. That is, if you like quality beer with a strong dose of cloves. Also, ask Pele what her name means. I won’t spoil it for you. Five stars. !!!

Mostly good food. The beignets were very dense, the corn dogs lacked flavor, and my chicken and waffles were VERY spicy (coming from an Indian). The ambiance and service was good and the patio seating is very charming. My colleagues enjoyed their breakfast and had great things to say about it. The waitress did mention the C&W would be spicy, but I thought it would be Midwestern spicy and could handle it, but unfortunately could not! The cappuccino was good and they had oat milk to replace cow’s milk. Highly recommend this place. Only took away 1 star due to taste of food. Will return if I am back in MKE.

The best French toast and I really never like French toast but this isn't overly sweet, great atmosphere, the pretzel eggs Benedict was delish...I asked for my bloody Mary made w bourbon instead and they didn't even flinch. Romantic in its own way. Can't wait to return and try the pommes frites. I will say however the beignets were not what I expected They actually tasted healthier than you'd expect so from that standpoint they were good and light But doughy. Also the breakfast potatoes...ehh I'd skip those if I could... Some where undercooked. I'm giving it 5 for the atmosphere and the wait moves quick if you grab a drink and wait. I'll confirm this rating upon next visit

Stopped in for a bite and drinks after a comedy show. The waitress was great and offered great insight into beer recommendations. The Lux Tots were a very tasty app. My date and I were both sad when we reached the bottom of the order. We also wanted to order the cheese bread, but sadly they were out of tonight. Instead we tried some mussels, which was a first for me. They were very good. The frites that accompanied the order tasted old, but that was the only negative part of our order. Definitely recommend if you like beer - the beer menu is huge, over 40 pages!

We stopped in for a quick bit of breakfast but they were done with the breakfast run so we had a couple of sandwiches which my wife and I always split. Very good place for casual dining while downtown. The calamari was served with fries and dipping sauce. They were good without the accompanying fries but I understand this is a pub environment so it was fine. The burgers taste charbroiled and were very good. We ordered the Mac n cheese as well and it was really good. We also ordered the kale artichoke dip which was amazing with garlic toast. Plenty of different places to sit inside and outside.

We went to Milwaukee last year kind of on a whim a and lucky for us our hotel was about three blocks from here. We actually liked it so much we went there twice in the 4 days we were in town. I've been to this restaurant twice and I've been amazed both times. They have an amazing list of different types of beers that is over 20 pages long! Each entree has a drink paring suggestion. And they are vegetarian friendly. I've had their mac n' cheese where their cheese sauce was made out of goat cheese and brie among other cheeses. They also had an entree called pesto squash “noodles” which was amazing. They cut up vegetables in the shape of curly noodles and cooked it with what I can only assume to be homemade pesto and topped with shredded Parmesan and so much more (mushrooms, walnuts, and other veggies). This isn't for everyone since it's basically entirely vegetables, but the taste is phenomenal. I hope to come here again soon for another amazing meal.

Got quickly seated without a reservation on a Friday lunchtime on the Northside outside street table. Our waiter was very slow and we had to ask numerous times for different things. The pull apart cheese garlic bread is so good!!!! The arugula and sweet peppers balance the garlic perfectly, LOVED IT. The Bang Pow Tofu was flavorful, but the crispy tofu was a bit soggy. Really enjoyed the Kombucha, the jalapeños kick after the sweet berry flavor was interesting. Returned here a year later. Service was about the same and food was all good. They did remove the Bang Pow Tofu. Had the Turkey pesto sandwich with the Benelux salad. The salad was very good. The sandwich did lack much pesto flavor.

The atmosphere is cozy inside and chic and comfortable outside. They have a rooftop patio that feels large and allows for good views of the surrounding area. Definitely check out their Benelux Bloody Mary and their draft beer selection for some extra delight in your meal. We would highly suggest the Pretzle Benedict, Ham and Bier Cheese Omelet, and Cinnamon Streusel French Toast. All the food was so well prepared and piping hot when we got it. Always a must when were in town and we hope you love it too!

Went here this afternoon on my first trip to Milwaukee and this is a restaurant you have to go to if you’re in the area. I topped it off with a Mocha and it came with a piece of chocolate. Took home their flourless chocolate cake. Will take about 4 days to eat as it's that decadent. Cafe Benelux 🔥- delicious food and great service ! My first time here and it definitely didn’t disappoint!! I love how they don’t make you wait there for a table and give you a text message prompt for when to come back . The wait time was 20-30 min but instead of waiting around , I was able to go shop and get alerted when table was ready! Brilliant and excellent use of time !!!

Love the small group rooftop dome experience -esp in Covid - for private drinks and food packages. They've done a lot with the ground level outdoor space as well. Must say I was disappointed with our recent fish fry--they probably should better explain ahead of time that you're not getting the traditional Wisc fish fry flavor (may be fine for those not expecting that). It is a bit pricey. However, we're still looking forward to the famous brunch.

Fantastic location for this pub/restaurant. Loved the charcuterie board as an appetizer and the beer list is fantastic, with several rare/hard to find selections you wouldn't be able to get anywhere else. The entrees were very good as well. Highly recommended, will be back when I'm in town again!

Went with friends after work to meet up for dinner and drinks. The place was slammed busy. They seated us relatively quickly and the food was very good. I go here frequently and was usually disappointed by the food until I switched to their vegan/gluten free/seafood options as recommended by out wonderful server, Kayleigh. She was so welcoming from the moment we were seated. I hate when a restaurant is busy (good sign) but the staff doesn’t keep up. Kayleigh was the antithesis to this feeling. Never had to ask for the basics (utensils/water/ketchup etc.) and she treated me and my boyfriend as if we were family when we went; shared stories, good sense of humor etc. I will definitely be back and only hope that Kayleigh can assist us again!

Visited Cafe Benelux for dinner on a short get away trip to Milwaukee. Overall beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff and quick service. However, I was a little disappointed with my entrée. I ordered the Salmon which was served on a bed of rice pilaf. However, the rice wasn't cooked well and it was a little cold. Near the back of the restaurant where I was seated was drafty, which probably explains the cold food. Honestly, the outdoor seating was warmer because of the heat lamps. I really want to love this place so I plan to give it another shot for breakfast/brunch.

Café Benelux fits in perfectly with the Third Ward. An outdoor space at street level, a roof deck, and indoor seating gives everyone plenty of seating options. A wide variety of excellent food choices, I'm a fan of the pull apart cheese bread and the mussels. Plenty of beer choices, too. Highly recommended whether you are in the Third Ward or heading directly to the Benelux Café to eat.

We sat on the rooftop at sunset. We started with a plumb old fashioned. We had a great artichoke appetizer. I had the shrimp linguine and my husband had the meatloaf and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was phenomenal. We also had a couple delicious beers. This fine establishment is a treasure in the historic third ward just south of downtown Milwaukee. On a Saturday lunchtime the buzz is unmistakable and you would be well advised to obtain reservations for your group if you are on a timeline. Once you are inside, you see a full house of busy servers and staff literally in constant motion. The other unmistakable clue you’ve arrived at a special spot is the sounds of happy patrons who have been temporarily transported to a wonderful oasis of enjoyable drinks and delicious preparations. If you enjoy Bloody Mary’s there are five signature recipes that offer well crafted liquid refreshment. Of course there are plenty other options including a seemingly endless beer menu from all corners of the world. If you were determined to enjoy each type of beer, you’d need to visit several times per week for almost a year!!! The edible rewards are creatively appealing and delicious both visually and provide a truly memorable encounter. This was surely a treat for our entire party of 9 and this reviewer will be making a stop each time in Milwaukee. Servers are well trained, knowledgeable, efficient and super friendly. I love trying new food and a good view and I got both! The hostess ran upstairs because they could not connect and then walked us back upstairs. This place is... Okay. It's not bad. Just okay. A good option if you are in Third Ward and want to grab something to eat. It's just there for you to stop by. Very welcoming atmosphere, open doors and outdoor and rooftop seatingd and all. I love that about this place. It's somewhere to stop by if you just can't decide where to go. As I said, it's very welcoming. The rooftop is very chill and beautiful. Not to much light. Even the outdoor seating on the street. Actually, this place is overall a dark place. It's open but somehow also very dark. No big white tall walls and high ceiling here. The menu is small, relatively. Very similar in size to what you'd find at any other Cafe owned by Lowlands Grand Cafés. If you are from Milwaukee, you will know what I mean. If you are not, know that this place is...reliable? That's a good way to put it. It's got your back when you're out of options. The Kale Artichoke Dip is to die for. You must get it. You must. It's spicy a little but it's so good. You have to try it. Trust me. The Macaroni and Cheese was also very good. It comes with some magical pickled red pepper that will make it taste so much better. Aslo, the California dreamin' is a very good option even if you're not vegan. Don't forget to ask for aioli. It's really good. As you can probably tell, although this place offers relatively small-to-okay menu, they do it well. Very well. Food here is delicious. Server was good and fast. There was a waiting when we walked in. The hostess took my phone number and a text message was sent to me when my table was ready! Very professional and effective implantation of technology. Well I be returning? I have no doubt. But I don't see myself getting excited to go there especially out of my way. I'll just stop by whenever I'm around. Except for that Kale Artichoke dip starter.. I might just go back for that... I initially gave this place 3 stars (it's okay) but because the food is so delicious I decided to make it 4 stars (I liked it)

The entrees were cooked to perfection, and the drink selection is boasting with rare and intriguing drafts, imports, cocktails,etc. The service was very poor, though. Waitress never tended to our tabled more than once post order, brought appetizer with our entrees, AND rushed us to desert, even though the venue was not busy and open much later. Still, a great place to enjoy the atmosphere and flavorful pairing combinations.
