Talon was our waitress! First time here and the experience was amazing. Great service, cute decor and setup and great food. We ordered the tofu sandwich and the Seoul wings and it was delicious. We got started with a shot on the house with our waitress and doubled up on our drinks. Very attentive waitress as well as bare tender and we will definitely be returning!

I have been meaning to write a review for this place for MONTHS so here is my long awaited praise for Blackwood Brothers. So the first time I came here was back in May I believe. The place had only been open for like, five days or something. The server was so friendly, and when I was back recently I noticed that he is still working there. Nice guy! Anyways, my first visit was for late night, post-drinking food, and I ordered the Killer Tofu Sandwich (pictured). I haven't tried everything on the menu since then, but this dish remains at my number one go-to when I'm here. The combination of textures from the different toppings is so incredible, and the flavors mingle effortlessly. It gets spicer as you eat it, and let me tell you, you might need a pitcher of water close by, but every bite is worth it. Also, I'm always amazed by the french fries here - they are a perfect blend of sweet and savory...they're almost cinnamon-y too. So unique! I met the owner once and she was so charming and took Ginger brandy shots with my fiance and I (also delicious). This menu is so meticulously put together and everything I've tried has been out of this world. The vibe in the restaurant is on par with the food. There are plants everywhere, cozy mood lighting, and tall panel windows to gaze out of during your meal. I'm incredibly happy to know this new spot, and I can't wait to continue exploring the menu!!

Amazing experience and amazing food. Literally everything was very delicious. The Korean Style Fried Wings are simply amazing. The shrimp sliders too. I highly recommend you try both the Fried Chicken sandwich and the Sledgehammer burger as well. They're big enough to be split in half. Please keep in mind that the kitchen staff changed at some point so your orders may be presented differently from the pictures you see here from a year ago. The restaurant is clean and the service is fast and very helpful. It's so refreshing to have such a place serving quality food till midnight. The restaurant is open Wednesday thru Saturday and operates late. I like this place. And I have been coming back.

We arrived at about 7 PM on a Friday and literally were the only ones in the entire place besides the staff. That worried us. We began to order and the waitress was very green but sweet. They didn't have many of the basic items required to make some of their signature drinks which was disappointing. Obviously we were not optimistic about the food. How wrong we were! The food was made fast and prepared well. We had the smash burger and the shrimp sliders which were dynamite with just the right spice. We also had the tempura vegetables which were lightly fried with a spicy dipping sauce which was the perfect complement. The waitress came around with some complimentary drinks which was a surprise and nice touch. It seems that they need to still work out some kinks as far as preparation and service but the food will keep us coming back. We live close by and will definitely return.

Fantastic brunch menu! Their Bayview location is well placed for easy access, ideal natural lighting, and ample parking. Their eccentric menu makes this another must-visit for anyone with adventurous tastes in mind.

Perfect for date night, or even a week night, happy hour, etc! We have been here a handful of times, mostly during the weekday, and I'm shocked that the restaurant isn't more crowded! The waitress was so kind, knowledgeable - prompt service and the food was tasty! Affordable prices and the food portions aren't ridiculous (as in, regular sizes, no wasted food). We were disappointed that a particular sandwich was off the menu, but all forgiven! We appreciate a rotating menu. But we wouldn't be upset if the Saigon Sandwich was put back :) Please check this place out - it's cute, cozy, clean, and in the perfect location to make a night out of it!

My new favorite place to eat in Milwaukee! We went on a Wednesday night and it was fairly quiet so we were seated right away. They have Happy Hour until 7 pm, and the cocktails were absolutely delicious. For dinner, we ordered a burger, skinny fries, pear salad (with fried goat cheese, absolutely to die for which you can order ala carte!), the ginger tamari Korean chicken wings, and cheesecake. Everything was super fresh and really tasty. I really appreciated the amount of vegan/vegetarian items they have. The meal portions are huge which makes the prices really great. Our server was also excellent. As was mentioned here by another customer, the low-key vibe of this place mixed with the dark, cozy lighting really makes you want to stay for hours. I loved it. Also, I don't know of many places in the Milwaukee/Bayview area that serve dinner until midnight. That seems pretty unique and awesome.

Sherilynn and her staff nailed it! This brunch experience was exactly what we needed for one our first dining adventures since the pandemic began. We were there at opening and able to walk right in and get a table with little wait. Staff all voluntarily were masked and we felt so cared for. We literally tried one of nearly everything for brunch and were impressed with the food complexity and creativity. Huge portions! Fantastic, thoughtful drinks. A truly inclusive environment. We will be back!

Feels like a hip spot you'd find in Madison, but with a MKE vibe. Amazing service, large portions, interesting menu and fabulous execution. I don't always do brunch, but when I do, it will definitely be at Blackwood Brothers.

The food and drinks are really good, but I always seem to have really slow service. The last time I was there a lot of the menu wasn’t available and the bar tender was also the sever. Also, there hours are strange, I don’t understand why they don’t serve weekend brunch. It seems like a wasted opportunity. All of the other area restaurants are busy on the weekends and this place is closed.

We went there for the grand re-opening during Sunday brunch. Everyone's food was fantastic and they even have gluten-free bread and bagels. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was the best I've had! The owner was so welcoming and our server, Lisa, was so friendly. She's a pro and went out of her way to make everything perfect for us. I cant wait to try this place for dinner! Highly recommend!

I'm glad I didn't miss a day of this restaurant being open. The cocktails were deliciously crafted. Spicy apricot wings were the perfect balance of spicy/savory/sweet. Saying the choripan and saigon sandwich were phenomenal is an understatement. We are super excited Blackwood Brothers just opened up and will be back again soon!

The Korean Fried Chicken Wings are the best in the city, probably some of the best fried chicken I've ever had period. All of the other food we had was great, very good cocktails too and the bartender even bought everyone sitting at the bar a round of shots.

Fantastic new place! I think I tried almost everything on the menu. It all sounded so good so my group ordered everything and shared. The food was a great mix of eclectic flavors and comfort. We enjoyed the carefully crafted cocktails and interesting wine list. The restaurant has a great vibe. It's the kind of neighborhood place that you could eat at everyday.

Everything was amazing! We got the french onion soup, shrimp remoulade sliders and a seitan saigon sandwich. Everything was done amazingly well and very tasty. We got a couple of their specialty cocktails. They were just unique enough to be fun and not too unique to not know what you are ordering. Everything I tasted, I would recommend.

The decor is lovely, the staff friendly with perfect timing, the drinks are perfection, and the food is fantastic. My friends and I tried every single vegan item on the menu and I also got the chicken sandwich. Everything was fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and even after we were full we bemoaned that we couldn't eat any more. The bathrooms are clean and have hooks for bags and purses. For the first time eating in a restaurant since March 2020, it blew me away.

Stopped in tonight for a few drinks with a friend. Perfect lighting. Amazing attention to detail from the decor to the menus. Staff was very impressionable and incredibly friendly. I looked at the menu and regretted not coming in with an appetite. The gentleman next to me was enjoying the burger. Between breaths I asked him how it was (even though I already knew the answer). He said it was more than perfect. We both agreed we'll be back soon to dine. Hidden gem.

Four of us went. Each got a different thing and all of them were good. 4 cocktails, a bottle of wine 4 entrees and a few apps for $200 which included a very generous tip. Very reasonable and quite good. The restaurant is small with no reservations, we easily got a seat around 7, but there were people waiting after we got there. Very good, try it.

Absolutely 5 stars. I feel terrible that I didn’t get the appropriate spelling, but Laila/Layla greeted me with a warm smile as I walked in the restaurant at 11:33pm and even after I let her know I understood they closed at midnight and to not dirty the kitchen on account of me, she still allowed me to order food to go. Being vegetarian, I often look at menus before I go to an establishment and I was so excited to try so many different things. The first thing on my mind was the Kimchi Spring Rolls, they were sold out which I understood, it just gives me a reason to come back. I ordered the Tuffalo Wings (adorable name btw) with the vegan ranch, and an order of fries with a lovely seasoning and the garlic aioli. Absolutely fire. The wings are the perfect texture and taste, the ranch was delicious and the fries were the perfect cut. Truly worth every penny. I hope Laila/Layla and Roy (I hope I’m not butchering his name either) have a wonderful rest of their lives, and I cannot wait to come back.

Go to Blackwood Brothers restaurant. Do yourself a favor. First, the service. I worked as a waiter for over 5 years and Julia made me look like a child with his first non-sippie cup. You will feel like a VIP, but also down to earth. The drinks? Wow, so so good. You can get any beer knowing they were selected with care. The cocktails, STRONG and YUMMY. The food, seriously out of this world. The best wings I have EVER had. The burger was so fantastic. Order anything, you will be so happy. Seriously, I don’t write reviews but I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough using only the written word. It is also ridiculously reasonably priced.

We got home late from a long day of flying and were pleased this place was open at 10:45pm. We hadn’t eaten since the AM. Pleasantly surprised by a well developed and tasty menu! We shared Spicy Apricot wings and respectively each got the French Onion soup & Fired Chicken Sandwich. Pretty darn good. Bar special bubblegum cocktail was unique and tasty (elderflower soda, chipotle pineapple liquor, bitters), interior was classic yet stylish and glowing, and music ideal mix of hip hop and alternative Manchester Orchestra type beat selections. Would recommend.

This gem is a must!! The atmosphere is chic yet cozy ans the staff is friendly and welcoming. The craft cocktails I tried were an impressive blend of flavors, and the food was spectacular! Great place, great atmosphere, great people! And most important, amazing food and drinks. I absolute love all the Bukowski drinks, but strongly recommend “Answer to a note on the dresser”, my favorite, the ginger brandy shots are also a must! The French Toast is by far the best French toast I ever had, the skinny fries and the Saygon sandwich are also perfect ! If in Bayview, you have to check it out

Finally got to try Blackwood Brothers for dinner last night and we loved absolutely everything about our experience! Great vibe inside from the lighting to the music and super friendly service (appreciated the complimentary ginger brandy shot for 'dessert'!) The menu had so many things I wanted to try, and we loved the curry fries, Korean chicken wings, and the macncheese. Will be back for sure!

The interior, staff, cocktails, and food are excellent. One of the best burgers in Milwaukee. I’d give it 5 stars but their strict stance on no modifications, even for food allergies, knocks them down a star. I know kitchens don’t want all sorts of modifications but like 20% of people have food allergies, so to refuse to not put an egg on a sandwich or not put cheese on a burger seems insensitive. I have various friends who have very severe reactions to things like lactose, gluten, and eggs. I won’t be bringing them here, despite how great everything is, unless the no changes policy is modified for people who food allergens.

This place is a treasure! Fabulous cocktail list and a brunch menu to truly crave. I keep going bacl for the manchego biscuits and chorizo gravy. They also have vegan and vegetarian options that look fantastic. You've got to give this place a try!

Newly opened resturant, i was hesitant at first presented with the smaller menu but my wife and i decided to order a few things to try it out. We ordered the french toast special, the breakfast burger and the corn bread and gravey and ooooh man everything was magical. Will definitly be making eating here a common occurance.

The service was spot on, fast friendly and accommodating. We had a lot of questions about the different sauces and stuff and they were more that happy to answer them. The chill was amazing and so the other sandwiches were really good as well. The cheese curds were not... You can get better curds at Hardee's.. we will definitely be back
