This is all around 5 stars, the food, the service, price, and the atmosphere itself is great. It is a little on the smaller size so it's best to make a reservation to get a table faster. It's worth it, the food is GREAT and the prices are not bad at all, pretty low in my opinion for the quality that your getting. Will definitely be going back, and I recommend it to everyone. Our server was amazing as well.

Artisan Ramen was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The ambiance is modern and eclectic with an Asian and pop culture feel. The menu had Ramen of course, but also some noodle dishes, sushi, sushi burrito, poké, and a full gamut of appetizers. Lots of drinks to choose from also. The food was all amazing and I can't wait to go back. Artisan was a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend, don't skip this place!

The food here is makes you feel satisfied. It's flavorful with all the veggies you need. I had the Japanese curry it hit the spot. The white tiger as a drink quenched my thrist. The mixologist had great customer service. The atmosphere had an Asian flare. Great job. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Bailey is who served us and she is amazing!!! So friendly, great recommendations, great explanations of ingredients. The Birria Ramen and the Chicken Ramen were great! Fried ice cream and the traditional Japanese Fish shaped desert were delicious! Drinks were also great! Appetizers were the muscles, edemame and pork dumplings 🥟 ❤️ We shall be back!!!

Ventured here for lunch today, and WOW! Not what I was expecting! Interior is very comfy, and the decor is very chic and fun. Plenty of seating and even during lunch, the staff moved quickly, were helpful with the menu, and very friendly. Everything looked very clean and well kept. The food…. Was amazing. I had the ramen, where I picked the protein (meat), type of base I wanted in the broth, and noodles. It was simply amazing and reasonably priced. Will come again!!!

We reserved a table ahead of time since it was a Saturday. Good food, but pretty pricey even for the quality of the food. My friend paid $6.50 for 4 miniature crab rangoons. The ramen was good but not good enough to justify how much we spent. Great atmosphere, though. Lord of the rings, avatar, full metal alchemist, and sailor moon were playing on different screens throughout the restaurant, which was pretty cool. I'd like to try the bar sometime, too.

This place is accessibility wise very accessible , just along the road. Quite spacious inside . Too colorful, loud designs . Not for the minimalists type . The place is packed with people and I see numerous takeouts . Food are ok. Ordered : Pork Gyoza 🥟 8/10- taste is ok , oily. Beef Ramen 🍜 7/10- taste just ok too , nothing remarkable. Soup when served not too hot to scald your tongue 👅. Just enough , so make sure to eat quick or u are eating a cold ramen 🤣 Bokchoy a bit overcooked for me . I preferred my bokchoy a lil raw not overcooked. Fresh. I forgot to say to add a bit of spice . So I was served a plain taste of beef broth . So next time ask for a little kick . The server is very accommodating , pleasant & Friendly , appreciate it. Oops! Mandatory 18% gratuity is already part in the bill . Just an FYI.

My favorite ramen place in Milwaukee! The Build-Your-Own ramen option is perfect for me. The ramen ingredients are always fresh and the ramen is always so good. Besides the ramen, I highly recommend the kaarage. The crab rangoon and gyudon bowl were delicious as well. The inside is nicely decorated with a Japanese pop-culture theme. The staff are always excellent as well.

We tried Artisan Ramen after friends had raved about it. And to be honest, it was probably the best ramen that I've had. The selection was amazing and the service was stellar. Our sever Erin was simply impeccable and well versed on the menu. Her knowledge of the menu items were from her experience and she easily guided us. I hope the owners realize the value that Erin has and what she brings to their business.

This was such an amazing experience! The food was top notch and the Mochi was divine! I was a little nervous to try the egg, but it was my favorite part at the end. It was so creamy and tasty. The atmosphere was fun, with only one TV playing sports, the rest where playing wither Anime or a Godzila movie. My husband and I had a lot of fun and would love to go back and try their stir-fry next.

Great service for great food. Our server Bailey was super helpful with our questions about vegan options as well as attentive to our overall experience. The vegan sunset was citrusy, light, and delicious and the beef ramen featured some amazing and sweet meat and mushrooms. Would return!

Great experience if you're looking for somewhere special to eat. Plenty to look at while waiting for your food, with anime playing on 3 screens and lots of cool collectibles and pictures around. Loved the non-gendered bathroom signs. Feels very welcoming all around and great choices for ramen, appetizers, sushi and dessert! We especially loved the takoyaki.

We had a party of 8 and we all got our food so quickly. It was super fresh and flavorful, eggs cooked perfectly! We all got ramen bowls,devilish eggs,michi,tempura shrimp,sushi and mixed drinks.New favorite place and everyone was so sweet.love the decor too

Has the best ramen I've ever had here! Super flavorful and filling. Had the spicy edamame as an app and the vanilla mochi for dessert. Everything was delicious. Atmosphere is great. Prices are really good for the quantity of food as well. Overall, definitely recommend artisan Ramen!

One of the best ramen places in Milwaukee, bar none. The first thing you see when walking in is the giant Godzilla tapestry-like poster. We were sat very quickly and able to order quickly as well. We had a bottle of the lychee sake (dangerously sippable) and each had a bowl of ramen. I had a make your own and the toppings are amazing. The spice level leaves a little to be desired, so if you like spicy ramen for the cold Milwaukee weather, order higher than you usually do.

Artisan Ramen is a must go to restaurant in Milwaukee. They have the best ramen noodles and sushi that they can offer! I order a Shoyu Ramen with a black garlic flavor with some Chashu slices and egg. The soups are 'mmm!' so great that you could go back there again. I give it all stars for their service! Their decor is really awesome with portraits of star wars!

Artisan Ramen is a great place to go to enjoy all sorts of Japanese cuisine. Ramen, noodle bowls, and sushi. I had the spicy salmon roll, and it was fantastic. They prepare seafood fresh every day. The atmosphere here is unmatched, with unique, interesting decorations alongside 3 screens playing different anime shows. The bar at Artisan Ramen serves incredible sake. I had the hot caramel sake (seasonal).

The service was good. Our server accidentally got one of our orders wrong but was quick to make it right and took that order off our check. Still, the food was really pricey, and the tuna rolls were way too spicy.

UPDATE #2: This is STILL my favorite restaurant in all of Milwaukee. I still get my same exact dish that I recommended 3 years ago on this review. They survived past COVID shutdowns and came out the other side not just surviving, but somehow the ramen tastes even better. If you haven't tried Aritsan yet, you're missing out. Updated with a new pic of my latest ramen. UPDATE: Started coming here about a year ago as it's right down the road from my work and something a little more unique to eat. Now, my coworkers and I have made it a habit to come every Monday! The food is just hands-down delicious. There's a reason we keep coming back here, and it's just consistently amazing service and top-notch food. They've recently added poke and sushi to the menu and the owner was nice enough to let me test out the sushi. I included a picture of the nigiri sampler that I tried. I'm not usually a fan of nigiri or sashimi but man, I haven't tasted any sushi like this since I went to Seattle. If you're coming to Milwaukee and want to try something fun and unique, this would 100% be my first recommendation. If you're looking to try the ramen, my recommended dish is: Tonkatsu with Shio base, classic noodles, and a japanese spice level of 2 with extra shitake mushrooms (careful, I like spicy but even a spice level of 2 out of 3 gets my nose running)!

We loved it here! Was recommended to us by a coworker and we couldn’t have been more pleased. An energetic vibe, great teas and cocktails, and the ramen was divine. The gyoza were amazing as well!

I wished this placed closed later on a Saturday night. They had this cauliflower that looked like it was bang bang shrimp and it was amazing. I built my own ramen, which seemed overwhelming and confused but I think I did a good job. They need to have more prebuilt ramens on their menu to make it easier. Also, that matcha lemonade was pretty tasty!

I work nearby, so I eat lunch at Artisan Ramen at least 1-2 times a month, and sometimes grab take-out for dinner on the way home. I have liked every dish I’ve had there, but most love the make your own ramen with pork and the beef rice bowl. I’m not a big tea drinker, but their peach blossom and raspberry green teas are delicious. On top of great food, I love the atmosphere there (Japanese artwork mixed in with Star Wars posters, anime or Japanese/Korean music videos playing on the TVs, etc.). It is a smaller restaurant and has limited lunch and dinner hours, so make sure to double-check their hours before you go, and either go early or make reservations.

The service and food were excellent. Our server Bailey was very friendly and provided amazing service. The atmosphere and Halloween decor is fun and calming, and they have the best ramen I've had in the area. Black Garlic enhances the ramen experience for me and I've not had it offered before elsewhere. Plus Takoyaki being on the menu is always a plus for me for any Ramen or Sushi place.

A new (to me) favorite. What a gem of a place. A perfect hat trick great food, great service and great atmosphere. Vegan and vegetarian options available. We had the Sunset Cauliflower (lightly breaded and fried then tossed in a delicious sauce) and Momofoku (pork belly in lotus bun with cabbage and cucumber) appetizers. For entrees we had Barria (beef) Ramen and Creamy Chicken Ramen. Everything was made fresh and with the finest ingredients and was flavorful and delicious. For desert we had Mochi ice cream. It's different and I wasn't sure about it at first but it won me over. I would highly recommend Artisan Ramen to people I care about. I look forward to going back frequently. Our server Tess was fantastic and eager to answer questions and make helpful suggestions. Tess and the bartender worked together harmoniously and were a refreshing joy to be taken care of by. I don't remember the last time I went out to eat and left the restaurant as happy as I did on this night. Completely satisfied.

My 11 year old wanted real ramen for his birthday. We drove 45 minutes and got there and was super confused since we aren’t from the city. While in the car still I called and the bartender who answered the phone as so kind and helpful. When we walked in we were warmly greeted and immediately shown a table. We ordered the deviled eggs and the tuna poke as appetizers. Both were incredible! Then we ordered our ramen. Both of my boys love spicy and they orders theirs at a level 2 with the spicy noodles. It was hot. They ate it but said it wasn’t as enjoyable as they hoped. (Totally on them for ordering it like that.) I ordered spice level 1 of the beef ramen and it was absolute perfection. We sat near the kitchen and saw most of the items coming out of the kitchen. All of it looked so good. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Amazing experience- our group ordered the curry chicken, birria, and one custom pork ramen. All were great, but the birria was the fan favorite! The strawberry and sesame mochi were also very delicious. Big thanks to our server, Bailey, for being so accommodating and helpful with our first visit here. This place is a gem! The decor is super cool, atmosphere is cozy but not crowded. All of our food was delicious. We're ramen aficionados and while I was sad they didn't have tankatsu broth (my very favorite), the shoyu was very tasty. Their homemade noodles were very enjoyable. Our server, Zoey, was a delight. The broth was rich and smooth with a good mouth feel. The pork is slow cooked then given a light sear making it tender and flavorful. Multiple levels of spice to choose from. The restaurant itself is a cool urban setting and the manager Zoë is super helpful! Highly recommend!

Really great apps and sake. The ramen selection is a touch limited in terms of broth though, but what they have is great! The style of noodle isn't really what I had in mind; straight with no flavor or chew at all. Also my egg was a hair overcooked. :( First time there, excited to go back though! This place is definitely the best ramen place in Milwaukee! Everything is so fresh, you can taste s variety of flavors in your mouth when you take a bite of the noodles or a sip of the broth itself. The service is good. It seems to be like a very popular spot because you can always hear the DoorDash app go off for new orders as people walk in. The music is always good as well, nothing better than eating with your favorite jam on. The bathroom are spot clean and smell good as well. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who has never had ramen before, or even if you have but haven't tried this place yet.

The squid ink noodles are so good and they also have vegetarian ramen! It’s definitely a great spot to grab some sake/bubble tea while enjoying your ramen. I went to this restaurant three times and my third time, the food was great but the third time... the customer service was less than great. So I’m definitely weighing the majority due to the experiences previously! We were receiving our bill and our waitress split the appetizers even though we had asked for separate bills. I asked her very politely if she could change it, she just picked the bills up and walked away with a scowl on her face. I get that it might be busy, but I also work in Customer Service and I treated her with a ton of respect and got 0 back after the bill question. Otherwise- every experience has been great!

I honestly didn't expect to find such a quality ramen place in Milwaukee. I did the build your own ramen option: 1. Seafood protein+$3 2. Shio broth (sea salt) 3. Squid ink noodles +$2 4. Spice level 3 and black garlic oil They gave a surplus of scallops and shrimp. Definitely worth it. This combination turned out great and would recommend to anyone.

What an incredible business. Their taste in art, staff and most particularly of all, their food is incredibly tasty. Every portion of my ramen dish was made with care and excellence. The house sake was outstanding served hot. The restroom was terribly clean. Prices were $13-23 per person, I had black garlic added which tasted so damn good. You owe it to yourself to patronize Artisan Ramen and soon. Bring and tell your friends. Businesses such as this deserve to thrive.

Ramen: had a nice bite and bounce to it. Very good sturdy texture Broth: I had tonkatsu shoyu and it was flavorful and not too salty. Def had more dense broths before but this was tasty The veggies and add one were delicious. Thr mushroom was marinated and it was delicious. The soft boiled eggs were on point! Excellent. The seafood was decent size shrimp and scallops actually which is usually not a standard so good for them! Got Japanese +2 spicy and it was a nice kick, not too much. Atmosphere: a nice casual date maybe, definitely friends and family, had anime and loop videos on tv and cute kawaii decorations and balloons. Very contemporary but would be kid appropriate. Bright, not very loud.

My partner and I stopped by for dinner, and I think this place exceeded every expectation we may have had to begin with. Our server, Tess, was awesome and gave great recommendations (crab ragoon, blueberry boba tea, and since it was my first time and more traditional, a MYO tonkotsu). The portions were generous, and the food was fantastic. Definitely a fan of the curry broth, too. We have so many things on the menu we want to try. Highly recommend!

Nice ramen but not cheap. The environment and the funishing is excellent but the air conditioner is a little bit cold. There are a 18% tips if you dine in. The gyoza is not good and the porkbun's sause is kind of wired tasting. I perfer to focus on ramen and don't recommend their appitizers.

Really good food, nice ambiance and music, if you're into that. Old school Sinatra and Aretha with a Studio Gibli (sp?) movie projected onto the wall. Bailey was attentive and anticipated needs. Had the Beef Rice Bowl and the hubs had build your own Ramen. Pork Bao buns were also good. Could not stop munching on the seasoned edamame.

We went to Artisan for lunch on a weekday. There was no wait to sit down. I ordered the ramen with pork and a little bit of spice. They were out of Coke, root beer, and sweet potato fries which I thought was a little odd. The meal was good, but not something that I'm fond of. I thought it was a little overpriced for what you received.

The ramen tastes really good at first, but once I got towards the end it wasn't as tasty. I also do not like that the prices have gone up. It used to be .50 cents for an extra egg, $12 for the ramen... Etc. Little prices went up, which it already is pretty expensive for noodles. I also feel like it doesn't taste as good as it was before they started adding new options. Overall, decent quality ramen with friendly and professional staff. They could display more anime on the screens also!

I had the pork shoyu with spicy noodles and black garlic. Simply spectacular. Great flavors, excellent portion size. Eggs were harder boiled than I'm used to, yolks were actually firm, but I didn't mind. Tokyo Drift cocktail was tasty, the pork gyōza were crispy and the wrapper wasn't too thick or gummy, and the matcha cheesecake was excellent. Service was attentive, speedy, and friendly. Definitely a place I'll come back to when I'm in the Milwaukee area and craving ramen.

It's been awhile that I went back to artisan ramen. The reason why is because the guy manager was completely unprofessional and rude for not taking care of the situation. However today there was a young woman who was in charge and she was very kind and friendly. She offered me and my friend a sample of a new brunch that'll be on the menu soon and it was delicious. Even my kids enjoyed it as well. (Mostly the ramen 😊). I truly want to thank her for making us comfortable again and being the nicest person. Hopefully when we visit again it's be with her as the manager.

Artisan ramen is a place surely a place for friends and family to get together and go down on some good ramen. As any normal person might be skeptical such as " is it good enough or is it real ?" To answer that question yes I've been here two times and it was amazing. Each time I came here they did not disappoint. When you walk in they are kind enough to greet you with a warm personality and wait your table with hospitality. The people here are ever so welcoming, so welcoming to the point we had a conversation with our waiter he was actually pretty funny ! What I love most about this place is the build your own ramen selection. It gets confusing making choices on if you want this spicy or should you add more eggs. In all honesty experiment with the menu ( I'm the type of guy to like one thing and one thing only but go nuts on the menu trust me you'll love it). Overall the experience was one not to forget so please come down the shop and eat some of their ramen . Bye uwu.

This place was delicious would definitely come here again the ambiance was gorgeous as well. For appetizers I ordered the veggie gyoza which was delicious on its own but even more incredible with the signature soy sauce blend. For drinks I ordered their mango ramune and herbal hot lemon turmeric tea which were both delicious. For entrées I ordered a kimchi ramen without tofu but the kimchi was salty and sour instead of spicy *just a personal preference*. I also ordered a create your own ramen with chicken, veggie base, and noodles with was really good. As stated amazing restaurant would definitely come here again!

My always go to when I’m craving spicy ramen (which is more than I like to admit)! I’ve always ordered pick up/to go but the inside is a cool vibe and everyone is friendly. I love the craft your own ramen and that they offer spicy noodles!! I’m a big spicy girl so I love that they actually know how to spice up the ramen. It’s the best I’ve had. I also love the sushi, the spicy tuna is so good. Big fan of the gyoza and crab Rangoon. You guys are amazing!!! Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed the ramen here. Both of us did the build your own bowl and got to order just how we like it. The spicy noodles are an interesting feature that I have not seen before. Since the spicy noodles and spicy broth were still not hot enough for me, the server kindly brought out more chilis for me to add to my ramen. It wasn't my favorite ramen ever, but it was delicious. We also order gyoza, which were very good. Overall, the dinner and service were fast and friendly.

Fast "pick your favorite place to sit" seating and great service all around. The appetizers were tasty and portions were appropriate for 2. I had the build your own Ramen with pork, miso, and level 3 spices and enjoyed it very much. It was just the right amount of spicy for heat seekers to be satisfied while enjoying the other flavors in the dish. My guest enjoyed her meal as well. She had build your own Ramen as well, but opted for shoyu base and no heat. Instead she added black garlic to bring out the rich earthy flavors. 5/5, I will definitely be eating here again!

Best bowl of noodles I've ever had. The noodles themselves are made in house, the soup base was delicious, and the meat was incredible and melts in your mouth. Besides being delicious food, the price points wouldn't be at all bad even for food that was half as good as this. Good portions for entrees as well; it might be $14 for a bowl for example, but that bowl easily feeds 2. My order: (Build.Your.Own Ramen Bowl) Pork, Miso Base, Classic Noodles, Black Garlic, Scallions, Mushrooms [and you might as well add extra pork, you'll be happy you did]

Had the shoyu tonkatsu ramen with house Japanese spice and black garlic. The good: the stock is lovely, the pork was beautifully cooked, the veg was really nice. The okay: the egg was perfectly cooked but not marinated, and the black garlic (I think) was off puttingly sweet. Overall excellent and would repeat.

The food was very good when it came but we had a lot of bumps along the way. We had reservations for 5pm. The server took 45 mins before taking our dinner order, she just had gotten us drinks. She never told us what they were out of and what I chose I find out they were out of after waiting 45 mins. Then the second item after waiting 15 mins for her to come back was also sold out. Everyones food came except my dinner that was a third choice and came completely wrong when it showed up 5 mins later. She took it back and it was another 10 mins before I could eat with my friends. The food was very good once it finally came but we didn't leave until 745p because of how slow service was and how incorrect the check was.

Artisan Ramen Star Wars - Our New Year's Eve dinner was terrific! Great venue, fast, friendly waitstaff, delicious food all around. We weren't sure why there was so much Star Wars decoration on the walls, why Baby Groot in a Christmas sweater was on the bar, but no matter! It made our visit interesting and we loved watching the "live" stream of someone walking around Japan somewhere on the tv behind our table. We think it was Japan anyway, but it literally was someone walking up and down some streets, stopping to buy a drink from a vending machine, holding a camera out in front of them. Anyway, we ordered three appetizers and they all were delicious: Spicy Edamame, Vegetable Gyoza, and Agedashi Tofu - highly recommend them all. We were able to get vegan ramen here in a rich broth with just the right amount of spice and heat. We would all come here again and bring friends. I like a lot of ingredients in my ramen, so I wish they had more to choose from, but it was still very, very good. That's the only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars Next time I'd like to try the Japanese Curry as I've never had one before. Oh, and one interesting fact our waitress told us when we ordered saki. She informed us when saki is heated, it's usually done so to hide the bad taste if it's a poor quality saki! We ordered ours cold. Super good! I had a Hibiscus Berry Lemonade which was supposedly had vodka in it, but I didn't taste any, and neither did my companion. All in all, this is a very, very good place to come to for ramen in Milwaukee. Reviewed on 1/3/2019

First time at Artisan Ramen and I cant say I’m impressed. The decor is cool and I like the smaller space. I ordered a cherry cocktail which was delicious but the tofu appetizer and build- your- own ramen was adequate at best. The pork- miso- rice noodle combo for ramen was saltless! I felt like the flavors of all the ingredients weren’t harmonious. Also, the pork was extremely dry. The staff was nice but noticeably short and took a little too long.

Recently visited Artisan Ramen for lunch with couple colleagues and enjoyed our food here! The decor was interesting and gave a vibe that of a night club in some ways .. modern and dark. You see the bar as you enter to your right and seating is in front. This place is located centrally enough in downtown to get a good crowd during lunch hour. We came in around 11.30 am to avoid the true 12 pm rush and happened to notice that this place was busy already. A server got us seated right away and gave us our menu. We were waiting for a long time till the server came to take our orders.. she wasn't sitting idle or anything, but she was attending to various other tables. The place was busy and had only one server. We got our food after a while and it was delicious. I had ordered the Japanese bowl and it had a ton of flavor and spice level as you request. My colleagues got ramen and they enjoyed it as well :) After 30 -40 mins of us being in the restaurant when it got really crowded we saw another lady joined in to help the sever who was very sweet and asked us how we liked our food. She was probably the owner, I am not sure. I will certainly be back here again and recommend it to others.

I quite enjoyed Artisan Ramen. Flavorful and very filling. Pricing was on par with similar places like Kawa and Tanpopo, however the food was much more elevated. Back in Milwaukee and while I’ve said this before I’ll say it again. Artisan Ramen is my #1. I got to meet Sherry the owner in 2019 and I’m still blown away by her commitment to her craft of building an amazing bowl. Such complexity, the bitterness of the black garlic oil is the perfect compliment to the sweet taste of the soy sauce/sugar water brine marinated mushrooms. The perfect sear on the delish chasu pork. The fantastic noodles themselves are worth mentioning because they make them in house, almost unheard of in the US. I’m in Umami Heaven right now😎

Was in Milwaukee for business with my fiancée. Both of us craving ramen did a little search on Foursquare and found Artisen Ramen. Came to the restaurant and was met with a very cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Tracey was our server and she was extremely welcoming. She did a great job answering our questions and maintaining contact throughout our dining experience making sure we were taken care of. As for the ramen, I would say it was one of the best places I have ever been to and we frequent larger cities like Los Angeles and Chicago. The Tonkotsu Ramen spicy level 3 was the right spice and flavor. The mushrooms were sweet and savory and everything complimented each other. Will be back.

Lovely ramen stop!! My wife got the spicy noodles which I had never seen and it was pretty spicy. I got the kimchi ramen with udon because I love udon and I liked that they had different noodle options here :) the udon was a bit tough and crunchy as apposed to the thick chewiness I was expecting which is why I gave 4 stars but the kimchi and fried tofu was so good!!!

I am not a ramen expert by any means, but this is the best ramen I've ever had. Every detail is so delicious! The shitake mushrooms are sweet and savory, the black garlic sauce is a yummy addition, and noodles are always perfectly cooked. I like that you can customize your ramen. I usually get the ramen with pork belly, miso dashi broth, classic noodles, with added black garlic. My boyfriend gets the same thing but adds spice. The cocktails are creative and refreshing. And if alcohol isn't your thing, the hot tea selection is great. The decor and ambiance is geeky and cool at the same time. Sometimes they play a POV livestream of someone walking the streets of Japan. If you sit at the bar, you can watch anime!

Shout out to Izzy for an excellent experience. He was crazy helpful and just a great waiter. The ramen wasn’t my favorite. We got the beef ramen and the broth was pretty good and the spicy sauce was exactly like what we had when we were in Southeast Asia. The beef in the ramen was overcooked, a bit too thick and chewy. The noodles were not what I expected in a ramen so it threw off the texture experience for me. The artisan crab rangoons were yummy, but we expected a few more for the price. I really like the feel and look of the place, but I wouldn’t go back for the ramen. Extra star is for Izzy.

I loved this place! The menu isn't huge but it's good ramen. I asked for recommendations and my server suggested ordering with extra noodles as they are made in house there and that was a great suggestion. I noticed prior to going that some reviews mentioned the broth wwe bland so I ordered mine with a spice level of 2 (on a scale of 0 to 3) and I thought it was very tasty and just the right level of spice (I do like mine spicy.) If I go again, I'll skip the egg as it was a bit gooey for my taste (but o admittedly like my eggs well done so that's just my preference... It wasn't undercooked or anything). Also a plus here -- they have a full bar. :-) The service was great and the prices were reasonable too.

Absolutely delicious. Went around 5 on a Saturday and it wasn't very busy. Service was wonderful, I had the beef rice bowl (Gyu Don I believe?) and my girlfriend got chicken ramen with black garlic and medium spice. We also split an order of the popcorn chicken. Everything was so good I was blown away. I dont eat much in the way of ramen and neither does my girlfriend so we dont have much to compare to but the food was excellent service was excellent, we will both be going back. And for those who need it: For both entrees, that neither of us finished there, an apperizer, and coffee, it was 38 dollars. More than fair.

Artisan Ramen is a treasure hidden in Milwaukee if you appreciate quality noodle soups and/or Japanese pop culture. The restaurant is decorated with awesome artwork and murals, referencing pop culture. There are Japanese Mangas (comics) sitting on the waiting area tables. There are Japanese shows (I think) and anime playing on TVs as well. This is nice in the background but if it's not your thing, it not distracting or overwhelming. The food though is amazing. It's build your own ramen. While some of the options my be intimidating, the wait staff were very happy to help you decide. The presentation of the ramen is great. The flavor of the ramen is great. I can't give enough praise over how much I liked this meal. The service was excellent as well. Only wish I had into the future is if they could offer a tonkotsu ramen in addition to their current ones. Overall, I'm a big fan and I'll be going back. Can't wait to try some of their other entrees.

Our first time visiting Artisan Ramen was on a Thursday evening shortly after they reopen at 5PM. We did not have a reservation, and we were lucky we arrived when we did, because the restaurant filled up quickly by 6PM. We received excellent and friendly service throughout dinner, and were especially impressed with this (thanks, Israel!) We started off with the Pork Gyoza for an appetizer. These were tasty, although the dumpling itself was a little thicker than usual, but I’m guessing this was because they are made in house. Both of us ordered ramen, which is build-your-own. We both did the Tonkotsu (Pork) broth, and I went for the Shoyu (Soy Sauce) base and Classic noodles, while my dining partner picked Miso base with Chili infused noodles. The noodle selection is nice; most ramen places don’t have so many noodle options, but again, this goes back to the in-house made ingredients. The Classic noodles were good, but I think I would try something else next time, maybe the Squid Ink. I preferred the Chili Infused to the classic, and I also liked the Miso base better than the Shoyu. We both did the Japanese Spice level 2, which wasn’t that spicy, so our server was happy to bring out a chili paste they make in-house for us to add – this really kicked things up a notch! Definitely spicy, and a nice added flavor. The pork was done well, and the add-ins were solid (more mushrooms and no cabbage please). I’ve never had broccoli in ramen before though and would have preferred something a little more traditional like bok choy. One thing that could be easily improved upon – the ramen didn’t come out piping hot like usual. It was warm, but it seemed like the broth had been hot and with the addition of cold ingredients, the whole dish ended up being just warm. Our experience at Artisan Ramen was pleasant. The great customer service we received had a big impact on our over-all impression. Even though the restaurant was full shortly after we got there, we wouldn’t have noticed as the level of service did not go down (thanks, Israel!). We purchased a Groupon to check out Artisan Ramen; this made things a little better price-wise, as the ramen was a little pricey compared to other ramen places. Happy hour deals are not encouraged to be used alongside a Groupon, which is a little disappointing. The ramen itself was tasty, although the noodles were not my favorite; they were a little too spaghetti-like and chewy (just in comparison to other ramen, not to say they were unpleasant). I would visit again to try one of the other noodle varieties, and hope for the ramen to be hotter when it was served.

I had the pleasure of eating at Artisan Ramen the other day. I was warmly greeted by Niki who is the manager. I asked for her recommendation on which was her favorite ramen. She said that she loved them all but the chicken was spectacular. I agreed. The flavor of the broth was so even. It was not over salted and it made the chicken melt in your mouth with every bite. Just my opinion. It was good, even very good. Definitely different than what I was anticipating. The reason for taking off one star was because it's quite expensive, and I even had a groupon coupon. Service was good, and food was good. It's definitely not something that I would like to pay for full price, but if someone likes that kind of specialty, the more power to them! You may love them, or not. Like I said before, IMO, we liked it.

Service was sketchy. Their staff seems very green in that area. They were trying, though! Food was good. We enjoyed the gyoza, spicy edamame, and pork ramen of various spice levels. The ramen was savory and rich, the interesting addition of sweet corn provided a nice contrast. The tempura shrimp were a flop. The batter was thick, hard, and chewy instead of the light crispyness that's typical. I would visit again.

Very good ramen! Lots of options to customize your ramen. They even offer vegetarian options. The vegetable option under the protein selection includes tofu despite not mentioning it. You can choose from spiciness levels from 0-3 and even what type of noodles you get! Would definitely recommend! Due to the many options it's easy for anyone to eat here!

I’m not a huge meat eater (it’s a texture thing), so I’ve been back multiple times for their Vegetable Ramen since it seems like this is the only Ramen place in town that serves vegetable ramen. And they do it very well, it’s amazing—I love the broth, the tofu is always firm and well seasoned, and at a spice level of 2 I’ve found that my ramen is the perfect balance of spicy and mild.

I asked for a bit of spice in a container which is normally free, now there's a charge for that. If you've tried Yokohama (rip) or Red Light, this place is not the same ramen! There was nothing wrong with the service, but the food left us wanting. This is a cute, casual place but the noodles weren't what we expected. The name "Artisan Ramen" leads you to believe that this is very traditional ramen. What we were served was similar to spaghetti noodles; I have never had a ramen like this. The tonkatsu was nicely done, but definitely could have done without the corn (??? why ???) and carrots (again, I have never had these in "traditional" ramen). Decided to order the tiramisu which was described as having "a matcha twist." I thought this would be tiramisu prepared with matcha, but what I got appeared to be Pick-n-Save brand tiramisu with a few dollops of matcha whipped cream on the side. Tl;dr: It's okay, I might go back, but it definitely left me wanting. Prices should be a couple dollars lower for what you get.

Don't get the "tempura" it's not tempura, it's greasy panko fried veggies. Ramen has good broth, noodles didn't seem to have the same spunk and chewyness that is character of a ramen noodle. They grill their pork which actually added a pleasant flavor to the dish but I could do without a lot of the other nonsense in the bowl (looking at you corn and carrots). They don't belong in ramen because they didn't really add enough to warrant their addition. Pork and broth good, though.

Excellent ramen. I had the tokatsu ramen which is the pork. The eggs were perfect and the pork went great with the spicy ramen. Went with level three and it had a good amount of punch. I also had the edemame which was a good appetizer.
