My husband made reservations here for a late Valentine's dinner. He accidentally reserved our table a week later than he wanted and when he called to fix it Raine helped him and moved things around so we were able to have it on the day he meant to book. Our server Joe was excellent. Attentive and knowledgeable. To say the food was delicious would be an understatement. Everything from our drinks to the bread to our main course and dessert was outstanding and far exceeded our expectations. We ordered the rack of lamb and the delmonico both were cooked to perfection. We will be coming again and will be requesting a table near the piano on a Saturday.

We went to celebrate a friend's birthday and had such an amazing time! The food & drinks were absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was great. We didnt feel rushed while eating and chatting. Our waitress was wonderful. We will definitely go back for special occasions. The price of the meal was exactly what we expected to pay and reasonable with the amount of food that we got.

Unbelievable service, even better food. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. Best steaks around and a great selection of wines and whiskeys. Our server Nikia was amazing and super knowledgeable. If you need a place to go for a birthday/anniversary this is the place to go!

If I could give it 6 stars I would. Everything I ordered was exquisite. The service was great and the atmosphere ( jazz music playing in a calm dining area with a 19th century look) was relaxing. This is by far the fanciest restaurant I've ever reviewed.

We go here anytime we have a celebration. The food and service are consistently superb. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for steak. During our last visit however, I decided to try the seabass- I know, seafood at a steak restaurant... it was amazing! The only quandary now is to order seafood or steak the next time I go. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Tender, Melt in your Mouth, Flavorful Filet Mignon was superb. Ordered it well done and it looked burnt but didn't taste it. Clam Chowder with bacon was a bit earthy tasting but overall delicious. They even got the consistency was right. Not too thick (like pudding) and Not too thin (like milk). The Chicken Parmesan was huge and very tasty. I was eating the leftovers for 2 days. Atmosphere was quiet with soft music. The decor was elevated with paintings and smelled homey. I found the chair uncomfortable but my husband was fine with the chair. Table size was a bit tight but roomy enough for 2 people although it had 4 chairs. The service was excellent and although I was getting Question fatigue, I was happy we were getting exactly what we wanted, how we wanted it and at a level of satisfaction we have rarely found anywhere else. Pricey? Yes! We are definitely looking forward to coming back but only for special occasions.

The food was excellent I want said that right away, but here’s what happened. Was there for my birthday a few days ago, the waiter was very nice. My daughter order the crab appetizer, and she and I both got salads, we only ate half and asked for them to be saved with the crab appetizer to be taken home several times, our meals came I had gotten the asparagus with crab, when we done eating I made sure I told the waiter that I wanted everything to go home. I step way and when I got back there was a bag on the table with our leftovers. The whole meal was delicious cooked perfectly no problems with any of the food, but when we got home there were no salads no crab appetizer and no asparagus and crab. I get it was busy but with the food that was left that I paid for and the tip I left felt like I got ripped off. Hope the wait staff pays closer attention. Maybe I should have have checked , but at a 4-5 star restaurant I didn’t think I had to, lesson learned.

I had Kyle as my server. He filled up my water without asking many times, he cleared my dishes with crazy speed and he was the nicest server i’ve ever had. The food was also exquisite. I would recommend this fine restaurant to everyone!

I was really excited to go out considering for the past 10 months we've been dealing with a pandemic, just like the rest of you. My significant other and I are new to NH and wanted a nice steak dinner. Our service was good, nothing over the top. We had 7:30 reservations and had to wait about 15 minutes. Their chowder was bland. The oysters were fresh and tasty. For the main dish i got the surf and turf. The filet mignion was okay, didnt cut nicely although their sreak knifes are not good at all but the meat wasn't as tender as im use too. My husband got the special. Wagyu Australian Steak. That was really good. The sides, mashed potatoes and vegetables were bland. Overall experience just okay.

From the Valet Parking at the beginning, to the dessert at the end, the entire experience was fantastic! If you're looking for fine dining, this is the place to go in Manchester NH. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit here again.

If you're looking for some fine dining in Manchester then this is for you. From beginning to end it's exquisite. We had the Surf and Turf. The lobster was perfection and the meat seemed to melt in your mouth. Our server was beautiful, polite and efficient. You wont be disappointed. We will definitely be back.

Amazing food. Food would get five stars with out a doubt. Unfortunately their less friendly staff stops this review from being amazing. Will give them a second shot at some point and will update this if it has improved. I hope it does because the atmosphere and food is top notch.

This place is amazing! This is the third year my boyfriend and I have made reservations to celebrate my birthday and I swear it just keeps getting better. The filet is always perfectly cooked, this year we tried the Chicken Parmesan and that was incredible as well. The scallop and bacon appetizer was delicious, and the lemon cheesecake desert was even better than I expected. This is a birthday tradition now and I look forward to coming back every year.

My first time here. It had been played up heavily by friends I trust and they were not wrong - excellent on all fronts. From our server (thank you Joe!) to the perfect steak, they checked every box. Likely not for every day but when you want something special, this is your place.

Went for our anniversary. The service was excellent, the food not so much. I was craving steak Oscar and was excited they had it since I have not had it in years. The steak was a little rubbery, the crab meat wasn’t picked through and had some shell. Unfortunately that was off putting. I asked for 2 separate steak knives. Unfortunately the ones given to me were super dull. The bread was good. I tried dessert it was just ok. Maybe an off night who knows.

Incredible steakhouse. The staff was extremely welcoming, free valet parking. The steaks we're delicious, they had a good list of local beer and a section on the menu to build your own Manhattan. For dessert if you can't decide on 1 item they offer a sampling menu. Definitely worth going to.

Every so often we get a hankering for a steak. Instead of driving into Boston/Burlington to visit one of the high end steak houses. We have discovered there is a diamond right on our doorstep. The Hanover Chophouse. I'd put their meat right up there with the Capitol Grille, Rare, Smith & Wollensky etc. We visited Hanover Chophouse as a midweek treat recently. One of the aftermaths of Covid is you now need to call ahead and have reservations for bar seating. No problem and it's nice knowing you're guaranteed a seat at the bar. Upon arrival you can pull right up to the door and take advantage of the complimentary valet parking. We walked in and were immediately escorted to our seats by the hostess. A good selection of house cocktails/martinis. For the Whisk(e)y efficendos, there are plenty of rare and hard to find Single Malts and Single Barrel Bourbons such as Pappy, Weller and Macallan (most age statements). My wife ordered her usual Cosmopolitan and I a Vodka Martini with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives. Drinks were ice cold and served in the classic full size 8oz conical martini glasses (not those horrible coupes that seems to be trending in a lot of places). We ordered 6 Oysters and 4 Shrimp as our appetizer. Oysters and Shrimp were the perfect accompaniment for our Martinis. There are multiple steak options such as Ribeye, Porterhouse, NY Strip. Also, a good selection of seafood entrees such as Salmon, Seabass and Scallops. For our Mains we both ordered the Filet Mignon my wife ordered 8oz ($44) and I the 12oz ($53) Medium Rare. There are multiple sauce options for the steak. We ordered Au Poivre to share. Hanover changes the potato side every week and tonight it was horseradish mashed potato with seasonal vegetables. Hanover does not charge extra for the sides like many steak houses. The sides are included in the price of the steak. Chophouse has an extensive wine selection that is predominantly US / New World. I did notice a couple of Italian and Spainish labels but zero French wine represented...unless you include Champagne. We ordered two glasses of Duchhorn Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon ($16) to pair with our filets. Our filets arrived and were delicious and cooked perfectly to order. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the quality and flavor they attain at Chophouse. Always impressed. We didn't have room for dessert, however the selection looks tempting. Carrot Cake, Two Chocolate Cakes, Creme Brulee, Souffle, Icecreams and Sorbets. Also there is a tasting platter to combine 3 different desserts. An enjoyable night with good service, great atmosphere and excellent food and drink. We look forward to our next visit!

We had a graduation dinner here last night for a group of 15, and had reserved a function room downstairs for the dinner. Everything was incredibly well done, from the room to the service to the food. Neil and Melissa were fantastic as our servers. They were very accommodating and attentive, and the timing of the drinks and food were great. The room was perfect for our group - big enough for everyone to fit comfortably, yet small enough to feel intimate and allow everyone to be part of the conversation. The food was excellent (and while the restaurant is a steakhouse, I suggest trying the seabass!). I should also mention that even the room reservation process was great. We has several questions that were answered quickly (through email). We arranged for a centerpiece to be delivered to the restaurant, and received a call from the restaurant to confirm the timing of the delivery (they did not want flowers to sit outside in the heat). We could not have asked for a better dinner celebration experience.

My husband and I come here every year for our anniversary because the food, drinks, and service are top notch. Tony always goes above and beyond to make us feel special and ensure we are well taken care of. His personal attention makes you feel like you're dining with family. The blood orange margarita is always my favorite and whether we get steak or seafood, the flavors never disappoints. We're always too full for desert but we always order because it's always delicious!

Was there last night with a few friends and had an excellent meal. I had the Delmonico and the rest at the table had the fillet. All of the steaks had a little char on the outside but were cooked to a perfect medium-rare. I had mine with the truffle butter the rest of the table opted for the bacon-maple-bourbon jam; everything was absolutely delicious. The appetizers were classic and impeccably prepared. Bar selection was also very good and the drinks were generously poured . Our server was very attentive and friendly. Prices were what you'd expect for a high-end chop house but very much in line with the experience delivered.

An incredible meal. Expensive. Service was outstanding. Parking: website said you could park in the parking lot, however that was not the case when we got there even though spots were available, you had to do valet. Apps were great, filet was perfect, definitely get the mushrooms to go on it. Desert was great. So go hungry.

First of all, I suspect that this place was having an off night tonight but I can't be certain. So .... there were a ton of delays that made this experience pretty terrible. It took 35 minutes to get bread and drinks. It was right after that that we were able to order. The waitress kept apologizing but there was no good reason for the delays as it was not busy. The meals didn't arrive until an hour and a half after we arrived. Now for the positive side, the pork chops and clam chowder were phenomenal. The filet mignon was so so at best. The vegetables on the plates were burnt. The bacon mashed potatos were pretty good. Lastly, the whiskey selection was pretty diverse. This place is good if you have hours to waste but is also pretty expensive for the service level.

This place is an excellent choice for fine dinning at its best. The interior of the restaurant is low lit and is decorated with care and a keen eye. The wait staff was well trained and very prompt/courteous. The food was delicious and brought out hot. All meat items were cooked properly including lamb, pork, beef etc. Food was presented nicely. Bill is as expected for a restaurant like this (high). Wait time is also as expected (longer than normal) for food preparation, but worth the wait. Appetizers were well portioned and tasty, with bread to the table as well. Eat here!!

Made reservation for my sisters birthday. Everything was great! The bacon wrapped scallops are the best I've had. Steaks were cooked to perfection. We had the Stags Leap "The Investor" which was unbelievable and very well priced. Overall fantastic time! Thanks Chophouse!

We went for our anniversary dinner. Neither of us had ever been before. Everything was perfect. They offer valet to parking the car. When we got in, the host offered to hang up my coat. Kevin our server was personable and professional. We each ordered the three course Sunday dinner. It was exactly the right amount of food. Everything was cooked perfectly, and seasoned perfectly. They have a two martini limit, which usually I think is nonsense, but their martinis are definitely strong. We will be going back.

The food was pricey but worth every penny! I had the sea bass over risotto and the fish melted in my mouth. Exquisite. The decor is what you'd expect from an up-and-coming scale steal house: dark wood and white table cloths, but the staff was friendly and helpful while allowing us our space. Valet parking took off the burden of where to park on the popular streets, and the young gentlemen were polite. I can hardly wait to go back.

I have only been here a handful of times, but it's a fantastic place for a special occasion or if you're just filthy rich. The food is always amazing. The drink and wine menu is fantastic and the service is outstanding. Due to covid, they seem to be using a far more limited menu then normal, but the selection was still adequate and everyone at our table really enjoyed everything we ordered.

Went there for my 22nd Birthday. The waitress was very well versed in the food being served, which being a cook was much appreciated and a refreshing change. We arrived a half an hour early and planed on waiting at the bar but they were able to seat us early. The food was excellent. I had the Sunday grand prix and my Husband had a 16oz steak with a lobster tail. The steak was a perfect medium rare. The only down side in my eyes is something they have No control over is the neighborhood it is in.

From the point of entry, it was smashing! The hostesses were charming. Our waiter, Basil, was so attentive and the perfect pairing to our fabulous meal. We had the salmon and an 8 oz filet dinners. Both were perfect. The pastry selection needs a bit of work as our carrot cake was way dry. The wine selection fantastic and my pear martini was great. We will be back.

My experience there was superb! The weight staff was so professional and nice in every aspect of the evening. I also have an allergy, and they went above and beyond switching some ingredients around if needed, answering any of my questions I had and didn't make me feel like a nuisance (which most restaurants do because of this). The ambiance was very romantic (as this was an early valentines day dinner for my fiance and I), and the food was top notch. By far one of the best places I've been to all around. You get what you are paying for!!

Our entrees - lamb, pork chop and steaks - were all delicious and cooked perfectly. The service, ambiance, piano, and appetizers were all wonderful. We had the crab and the bacon wrapped scallops to start. Both were cooked perfectly and were very enjoyable. We had the NY Strip with mashed potatoes for our entrees which unfortunately didn't live up to the hype of the starters. The steaks we're very bland, with no real flavor and the potatoes likewise fell flat. If this were a seafood restaurant I would have given it 4 stars, but for the steak to be the dim spot in an otherwise lovely evening at a steakhouse is just unfortunate. Maybe select a different cut, or you could just wait until you're in Dallas for an excellent steak.

We took a client to Hanover Street Chophouse, and she loved it. Each of us chose a different wine by the glass, and all were excellent. I started with a rutabaga soup -- something I had never tried, but certainly found soothing and tasty. My colleague had French onion soup and found it delicious on a cold, rainy night. Our guest and I both had one of the evening specials, a cod that was grilled. It was perfectly prepared and oh-so-delicious! The fish was accompanied by some potatoes and a few vegetables that were all very tasty. My colleague had crab cakes and found them good. We were too full for more. We were a table of three women and were treated well.

The blond waiter at the bar completely dismissed our company and much more preferred to joke around and service old men in suits sitting next to us. We were four people , overdressed, ordered nice meal, yet she didn’t care to even talk to us or come back and ask if anything is okay. That’s the first time we’ve ever experienced that while traveling for business. Food was alright, but not fantastic, steaks were not impressive. In general, we enjoyed the atmosphere and music, but the service itself and food were not up to scratch.

On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, the Hanover Street Chophouse is a solid Good. We had a solid meal with a few missteps. This is a Covid review and they did a fine job making us feel comfortable. The wait staff was great and attentive. As for the food, the Lobster Bisque was disappointing as it was a watery consistency. The Truffle Tater Tots were a big disappointment as they were like mashed potatoes in the shape of a tater tot. I would not get these again. As for the positives, the steaks were all good (my Delmonico was not the best I have ever had but was still OK). The Lobster Mac and Cheese was spot on and the Caesar Salad was good as well. We had a non-meat eater so they opted for the Chicken Parm which was huge and we were told that it was good. Overall, I have been to better steakhouses BUT this was a good place and we will return taking note based on our previous orders. I would give this 4.5 out of 5 if I could but I can't.

The staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating, professional and courteous. Every course of the meal was delicious enough to make your eyes roll and tastebuds ache, and prepared perfectly. I can’t stress enough how excellent the staff was, from the maitre d’ who paid attention to my reservation notes, to the server who was an expert on the food and always seemed to know when to appear. Watching the cook line from the table was a treat, watching a well oiled machine at work. We had such a romantic evening and were treated like royalty. I have been here twice. This is definitely a place you will want to dress up for - most diners were in suits or jackets for lunch. The bar is a bit more casual, but not a lot. The place sort of has a private club feel to it. I got the impression that a lot of the local financial services sector eats here regularly. That said, the lunch menu was reasonably priced, and the staff was very helpful, if somewhat "stiff" in an "English butler" sort of way. Many reviewers are saying that this place serves one of the best steaks you can get, but I think that depends on the breadth of your experience. It is very good for New England, but can't shake a stick at many steakhouses in Texas or even NYC. I also had a salad with candied walnuts, which was very good. As an appetizer, I tried their thick-cut chipotle maple bacon appetizer. It was alright, but again, I have had better versions elsewhere (try the Millionaire Bacon at the Taylor St. Cafe in San Francisco if you want to see it done right). So overall, I would say that this is the best place to go locally if you are trying to impress a high-end client that is more interested in a pricey steak menu and upscale environment than really appreciating a unique culinary experience. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. But beyond that, nothing really stands out about the experience.

The four stars are for the quality of food served. I'd probably only give 2.0 stars for customer service. I went in without reservations as it was a spur of the moment decision to go there. The hostess made a frowning face as if it was such a chore to find seating. Not everyone makes reservations and no one should be treated less because of it. Anyone's money is green just like the next. We sat at the bar. The bartenders were pleasant but one seemed annoyed customers showed up as several others were leaving. I will say the rack of lamb was delicious! It has a little more fat than I prefer but it was hearty and sides that came with it left me feeling satisfied. I applaud the Chop House for holding dining to a higher standard in Manchester but don't act snobby about it. You're in Manchester NH, not Boston.

Casual but stylish appearance and atmosphere. Food was delicious, well cooked and made. They have their own baker and pastry chef. Live piano player adds to the charm. Friendly service. I had three servers to take care of me. I sat at the bar and had a relaxing time. A bit crowded but it could not be helped. I recommend reserving seats if two or more, especially if it's the weekend. Valee parking available, but, parking on the street is free on weekends. I had the Hangar steak ,marinated steak with creamed spinach and grilled potatoes. I wish it had more steak. For dessert I ordered carrot cake drizzled with caramel and served with nuts and vanilla bean ice-cream. Fresh baked bread was served before the meal. Three different types of bread were served. The entrance staff should take your name if you are waiting for a seat at the bar. I still recommend a visit. I didn't have to wait long for a seat at the bar though the bartenders were very busy.

What a wonderful dining experience! We went for a steak and were not disappointed. I got the Chop House Chowder, which was rich and thick and delicious. For the main meal I ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked exactly as I requested and seasoned with a truffled butter. The service and atmosphere made for a delightful evening out, with masks and social distancing measures strictly enforced. Once again, we had a perfect night at The Hanover Chop House!

We eat there at least once a month and I can honestly say that I have never had a meal I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The service is always exceptional and they always seem to fit us in for dinner. Very complex with many options - didn't bother reading them. Staff - very attentive. Valet left his post, though - with the key box open - outside as I walked in. The food here is always stellar. Pricey, but worth a visit once in a while for someone like me who refuses to order steak at most restaurants. My filet mignon was absolutely incredible, and possibly the most perfectly-cooked piece of meat that I've ever had in my life. I loved that they offered fresh fruit as a side option (they gave me strawberries and grapes that were amazing, especially considering my December visit). They have valet parking, which is wonderful in the heart of Manchester where parking can be frustrating. Be warned though, they don't have much for vegetarian options other than salads, but I guess that's what you get at a steakhouse.

Everything was pretty much amazing and as advertised and imagined from a place so renowned. I have two legitimate complaints however; first, my fried avocado side was so badly overcooked that it was barely recognizable, texturally, so avocado at all. Completely gone was the soft creamy avocado meat. And second, when food was taken by the server to pack in a take home bag, she took it upon herself to leave my potato side out the box. I may go back again, but this was disappointing. I'd feel remiss if I didn't close by saying that the swordfish entree I had was the BEST piece of fish i have had in many, many years, and I was born and raised on the seacoast. It was cooked to absolute perfection!!!

We ate here a few weeks ago for a family members birthday. One of my favorite things about this spot is the valet! (Pulling up literally 10’ from the entrance just makes things so much easier) We had a little bit of everything from the menu, seafood, sides, salads and of course steaks. Great food at a premium price. I had the chicken parm - enormous service and delicious. My young son had bacon mac and cheese - three adults at the table and all agreed it was some of the best mac and cheese they'd had (unfortunately too rich for a 4 yo palatte - where knowing your audience is key, but the adults liked the leftovers). I took off a star because after a lengthy conversation of how to order the cook in his steak that he wanted (final ruling: rare plus), it came out medium/medium plus. They took it back, the manager (?) came over to apologise, but it took quite awhile to get his new steak out, so his milestone birthday celebration had him watching us eat. Though not necessary, I was surprised nothing was adjusted on the bill. Moving onto dessert, everything was too notch as well. Valet parking was also provided and our server was very nice.

As far as real steakhouses go, this is it for NH. The staff are amazing, the food is incredible, and the bar is phenomenal. What more could you want? A slightly bigger place. My husband and I went there to celebrate pur anniversary. All the foods exceeded our expectation. We had crab and scallop cakes and carpaccio to start. Both were amazing! We shared delmonico as entree and it was definitely the best steak we've ever had! We also had lobster mac and cheese as extra side. The portion was way bigger than we thought and of course, delicious. We had their seasonal pumpkin torte as dessert. I don't like pumpkin, but that was one of the best torte I've had. As far as an elegant, fine dinning experience, in Manchester, it doesn't get better than the Chophouse. The food is beautifully presented and top notch. This visit, we were with another couple. Both couples started off with the beef Carpaccio, which was executed perfectly. Our next course was fresh oysters and shrimp coctail. The oysters were cleaned and shucked beautifully, no small shell fragments. The shrimp were jumbo sized. All of the seafood was VERY fresh. For the main course, we all split, 2 different large steaks (family style), and ordered several different sides. All of which, by the way, were incredible as well. The quality of the food, the preparation and the presentation, is on par with, fine dining establishments in New York City. Our server, Melissa, did an impeccable job. She was first class, attentive and knowledgeable. Everything one would expect, from an establishment of this caliber. She paid attention to detail and always was right there when we needed her. The restaurant inside ambiance is elegant, but very warm and cozy. The bar area is also a great place to eat. We've done it many times, and you can order from the entire menu. The bar does also have a tv. Having done quite a bit of traveling in my life, the entire experience was exceptional. They feature world class food and service, without having to leave Manchester. Highly recommend.

We've had several incredible dinners here. The filet is always a favorite! Our service is fantastic, Catherine and Nikia are excellent btw! Classy, cozy, with a darker dinning room associated with high-end dinning. Gluten-free bread is some of the best we've ever had! Dinner jackets and an occasional piano player make this place a nice upscale place. Great wines too. The bar is a little more relaxed and you can eat there too. So I decided to take my mother and girlfriend here for their birthday ( 1 day apart) I had heard great things about the Hanover st chop house and let me tell you it did not disappoint! From the service to the food everything was incredible. The experience started by walking into the warm atmosphere filled with friendly staff and a rustic but very classy theme, with the wait staff dressed in a classic white coat creating a clean elegant apperence that gave you the sense of being in a Michelin star restaurant. The pace was very lax and allowed you to enjoy your company while looking over the extensive wine and champagne list, in the mean time fresh bread and butter are delivered to your table to hold you over while the other diners delicious steaks are being served around you. The menu like any upscale steak house can be intimidating if you don't know what your looking at but I can assure you everything is delicious. We started out with the fresh bacon wrapped scallops and the chop house bacon sizzler. When they arrived they were beautifully plated and looked scrumptious, they did not let me down the scallops were perfectly cooked down to the bacon wrapper it was light and crispy with a great smoky flavor. On to the bacon sizzler this is more of a bacon slab/steak it's something everyone should experience I feel foolish for not remembering exactly what our waiter said about the exact location of the bacon but I do remember him saying this, "This bacon is from my home state ohio and it is known as the best bacon in the world ! I used to eat this at breakfast everyday and when I told the chef this he pleaded I find a way to get him this bacon.". After I heard that I became very very excited to try it, The first bite of this bacon was an experience that I have never had in my life it melted almost instantly and the smokyness coated my mouth it was bliss. After the appetizers we waited patiently for our entrées, I ordered the 28 day dry aged bone in ribeye, now this was my first real experience with a dry aged steak. I say this because after trying this one I feel as if the other restaurants lied to me . When this steak arrived at my table I was in shock it was probably 3" thick and had a distinct look to it. Like it had a shell on it, the outside of the steak was dark almost as if it had been smoked ( obviously not the case) this was the result of a properly aged steak. Some of the moisture is removed in the process making it a little dryer then the usual ribeye this results in a super concentrated beef flavor paired with the nuttyness given to the steak from the natural bacteria that grows as its aged. The flavor was mind bogeling I couldn't believe how flavor packed this cut of beef was as well as the perfectly cooked vegetable medley and chive mashed potatoes . This isn't the steak for everyone I'd recommend this to the foodie or the extreme steak lover solely due to the characteristics that most people wouldn't understand the idea of a dry aged steak or know how to enjoy. This meal was already amazing, when it came time to clear the table and digest what our minds and mouths just experienced the server came along with a desert menu. It was short and sweet and not many of us were up to the challenge, but I did not shy away from a simple salted Carmel Gelato and berries and the table didn't argue about sharing "The Howie" a multilayer chocolate cake with chocolate moose layers. Needless to say it was a perfect way to end the night, plates cleaned and smiles on all of our faces we sat and continued to enjoy our selves with out any rush, the wait staff made 100% sure we were taken care of till the moment we walked out. I will be returning to try the rest of the food with out hesitation!

Went here for my birthday and was very happy. Food was top notch and the server was very friendly and very pleasant. Only recommendation I would make would be to try the creme brulee and the cheesecake. Tried the dessert sampler with those as well as the boston cream cake and chocolate cake of some sort. Those were ok, but the cheesecake and the creme brulee were amazing.

I recently had a business lunch at the Hanover Street Chophouse. I was greeted at the door by the hostess who very quickly made me feel at home, comfortable and special. She took our coats and showed us to our table. The exceptional treatment continued from there and we left highly satisfied at the treatment, waitstaff and meal. I ordered the Sheppard's Pie which was delightful and packed with generous pieces of filet. My colleague ordered fish and that was equally delightful and cooked perfectly. The Chophouse is an ideal place to wow a customer and conduct business. That said, it is a delightful place to spend a special occasion with a significant other or group of friends. You will never feel rushed and they are always extremely attentive and regularly go above and beyond to win you over. The decor is magnificent - the Chophouse should be considered at the same level as other high end restaurants normally found in big cities.

Bone in dry aged rib eye confirmes their reputation as a quality steak house. If you're looking for a great dining experience this is a good bet. A bit pricey but worth the quality

One of my favorite resaturantrs. The service, the food and the wine is the best. My family and I were there this past Easter and had a wonderful dinning experience. Love this restaurant. It is one of my top three. Easter dinner for me was the Surf and Turf. The Filet Mignon was cook perfrectly, the lobster tail was like butter coupled with an enjoyable Cabernet and you have the receipe for the perfect meal. My friend and daughter both enjoyed the Sea Bass. The restaurant is very accomodating and will adjust meals to meet dietary restrcitions. Hanover Street Chophouse is one of the premier restairants in Hew Hampshire. Always look foward to retuning.

The only thing that bothered me for a fleeting moment was the restaurant manager was going to the tables talking to patrons and asking how their meals were but never came to our table and we had so many compliments for our waitress, service and food.

Good experience. My first time to the restaurant, a rainy Tuesday prior to a local minor league baseball game. The game was delayed, so we had plenty of time to eat, relax, etc. They have a complimentary valet, a nice touch given that street parking is a little challenging at times in Manchester. The hostess was friendly and did her job well. Interestingly, she was gabbing to a friend later in the evening how she was looking for another job and hoped that she would be given an offer that paid more than the Chophouse. That was, to say the least, unprofessional. The wait staff were right on target: on time, friendly, able to make solid recommendations. Service was fast and efficient. There were no interruptions to our conversations while service ensued. Food.... Salads: the portions for some were too large. Delicious, but too much food. One should have a smaller salad prior to a main course, not a huge affair. Their caesar was lovely. The dressing freshly made and anchovies interlaced on top. Nicely presented. Steaks: two of us had two different versions of the mignon, one with bacon (wow) and the other with truffle butter (also wow). They were perfectly medium rare, tasty and well portioned. I had a special for the night, a Tomahawk ribeye. This is a long bone-in steak with port/onion glaze and topped with a blue cheese "gratin" for lack of better wording. There was a hint of ancho pepper in there as well. It was PERFECT. Sides: uninspired. The mashed potatoes were of the garlic variety, very smooth and creamy... whipped within an inch of their life which removed all texture. They were... ok. The vegetables that night were not up to par: green beans and corn kernels in a medley or succotash arrangement. One could say that they were made days before, and perhaps even frozen. Not good accompaniment to that wonderful steak. Drinks.... fine. I had some wine and a martini. Both were excellent. Their wine menu is a pleasure. Dessert: very nice. Their pastry chef is their own. They made us a lovely happy birthday version of their coconut cake, complete with blackberry sorbet and a candle. Delicious. Pricing: expensive. More so than I would have thought it should be. Ambience: aiming at the old-school white American male set, for sure (older lawyers). Varied jazz musics came and went, all in the Frank Sinatra genre. The room is lit nicely, and woody with artwork all over. Nicely laid out with plenty of walking room.

1st time great second time poor. We reserved a table at 7:30. It was made most clear by wait staff/chefs they wanted to go home. (Didn't take coats, Didn't keep refilling glasses near the end of the meal, cold vegetables, didn't cook steak properly. No big deal if you are going to Applebee's but the best restaurant in Manchester????) So I recommend coming early otherwise you might be disappointed. My table still tipped as if it was a michelin meal but felt no satisfaction. Sad, because often times it is the best restaurant in Manchester but not tonight.

The Kobe Beef CARPACCIO was very good. You can slice it with your fork. It was slightly overwhelmed by the aioli and cheese but still excellent. Just eat that cheese on the side. Go with the filet(rare, I had RAW steak as an appetizer), they have it 5-6 ways. I went with truffle butter. The 12 oz was a lot to eat IMO but I finished every bite. Melts in your mouth tender. My wife had the scallops which were good. The bacon jam is an acquired taste. You either love or hate it. My wife hated it. But, the scallops were still prepared properly and tasty. The Veal Chop with Mozzarella, basil, prosciutto, tomato and veal demi glace was very good. The sauce was spot on. It's also a good size serving, but for the price, it should be. (go with the filet ;) I had the French Pinot Noir by the glass which was also excellent. It's $100 a head with wine and appetizers plus tip. The service was good. The waiter gave us time to pick our wine but I prefer to just order my drinks. I guess it was because it was our first time there. Nothing bad about that. Food was delivered very quickly. We giggled about the review where the guy got Chowder and a Burger. Are they even on the menu?!?! Go big or go home. This is not a Chilli's.

My recent meal featuring the Chophouse's 16 oz bone in filet, with the truffle butter, was simply the best steak dinner I have ever had. A phenomenal dining experience from start to finish, and the perfectly prepared steak was the star. My Gibson martini was superb, yet not too dry, and the lobster bisque was likewise exemplary. The live piano music makes for a wonderful dining environment, and, as a nice touch, there are request slips on all of the tables - we enjoyed his rendition of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.

My wife and I dined here for first time last night and found the experience to be disappointing at best. The soup and appetizer courses were good but not great; the entrees were terrible. My wife ordered the 12 ounce filet, medium rare. A rare steak has a cool red center, a medium rare steak has a warm red center; they should be virtually indistinguishable to the eye. My wife’s steak was clearly closer to medium than medium rare, and when we brought this to the waiter’s attention he demanded that she cut into the center of the steak to check the temperature at the thickest part. He then argued with her about the degree of doneness, making my wife feel defensive and uncomfortable, and generally ruining her evening. Besides being improperly prepared, the steak was dry and tasteless. I ordered the 24 ounce cowboy steak, also medium rare. My steak was served medium rare, as ordered, but it’s interesting to note that the appearance of the interior of my steak was completely different from the appearance of my wife’s filet. Although both steaks were ordered medium rare, there was a significant difference in their temperature and appearance. Despite costing over $50, my steak was just not very good; a mediocre piece of meat, indifferently prepared. This was a real emperor’s new clothes experience; I don’t know how this place gets generally good reviews. The bottom line is that you can get a better steak at Outback, without the pretentious and intrusive service.

Perfectly cooked filet - charred outer seasoned crust a with warm pink center (medium rare). I have never had a filet cooked better (cap grill, shulas, etc..). My sincere compliments... as the charred outer had zero carcinogenic taste. The carpaccio was excellent and the cucumber martini was exceptional. Really a wonderful meal, complimented nicely by a friendly (not "stuck-up" staff) and elegant interior. Would appreciate some translucent solar shades to reduce the uv glare from the off-white painted building adjacent.

Hanover Street ChopHouse – Manchester, NH – 4/13/2016 Let's start with the convenience of online reservations and complimentary valet parking… It only gets better from there… This is a high end steak house with a rich interior of dark woods, white linen service, tuxedo clad servers and fine art mounted purposely on their walls… I requested to be seated in Richard’s section… He's the 2013 recipient of the NHLRA Restaurant Employee of the Year award and has always been my favorite in Manchester… This is a restaurant I've been to several times and the quality of food and service have always been over the top. For starters… The parsnip and apple soup… Rich creamy base with just a dash of green oil… I always enjoy a dish not often offered at other restaurants… Next up… The special salad… a mix of mixed greens, strawberries, orange and crumbled feta cheese… All this wonderfully dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette… The main… Surf and turf… Butter poached lobster tail, eight oz filet Mignon cooked medium, creamy mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus with hollandaise sauce… Amazing! And while the dessert selection looked extremely tempting with its offerings I was good and finished the meal with my signature cappuccino… Not wanting me to leave without a smidgen of dessert… Richard brought out a biscotti along with two wonderful pieces of peanut chocolate squares… And if that wasn't enough…, Tony the General Manager came over to make sure my dining experience was an amazing one! I'll be back!
