Reviews of Safier Mediterranean Deli
Freaking awesome small and local Mediterranean place - incredibly respectable and efficient business. If I lived in Louisville this would be a regular place for me to go to. Everything’s pretty cheap, they’re very fast, and everything is delicious. Service is simple and awesome, and the environment is pleasant. No complaints whatsoever, I’d love to come back if I ever get the chance and I wish I could’ve gotten everything.
Really yummy. The fast food (and it was definitely fast) of Greek food. Decent quality. I found the ordering a little clumsy, but that could totally be user error. Hummus was a little bland, but I got lots of it. Greek salad was exquisite. Good portions
The chicken shawarma is absolutely amazing! Love the Greek salad too. Large portions and very reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and even when they are busy, the service is very fast. Highly recommend! (Pictured is my chicken shawarma and Greek salad which I got to go - so much food right?!)
The food was good, though not amazing. The place is small and the service was a bit surly, and they were out of several things. Not a fabulous dining experience, but okay, and decent for the price. I had the chicken shawarma and it was well-cooked, not dry, but not as flavorful as I expected. I also wish I'd been able to get some falafel as a side order but it wasn't an option.
I wouldn't say avoid this place, just go in with realistic expectations.
For a fresh taste of Mediterranean food do not hesitate to come to Safier Mediterranean Deli. The food here is so full of flavor and the service is top notch. Youness EL and his team will definitely take great care of you. If you are from Louisville or surrounding area, or if you are just passing through I would definitely recommend you stop by and taste what they have to offer. You will not regret it!
Loved it! 👍😍 Placed is located downtown, so convenient for many. Ambiance is Mediterranean as it is the full menu as you can see in photos.
Service is quick, professional and friendly. If anything unknown or unclear, just ask. For example you can request spicy sauce or replace part of your platter. 👍🙌
Street parking or parking lot, but on Sunday plenty parking available so it was a breeze. You can sit inside or outside. The place is clean and inviting.
Extensive menu with all the great things you can expect in Mediterranean cuisine. From vegetarian plates to beef and chicken kabobs.
Overall I was thrilled with my experience and will be here often. Really good value, hummus is one of the best and creamier I've ever had. ❤
Tasty mediterranean food at reasonable prices. The meat was very flavorful and the staff was very nice.
Excellent take-out light dinner while staying at The Brown Hotel. Enjoyed the ample portions. The mixed Kabob entree came with plenty of rice, pitas and big Greek salad
Would definitely recommend this restaurant to future travelers- a real quick but excellent eats stop.
A friend of mine recommended his place and I am glad they did. I have been here several times now. I go back often to get the chicken shawarma sandwich. It is basically a chicken wrap and I love it. I have not been able to try many of their other items but I would definitely recommend the chicken shawarma sandwich if you want something to eat on the go.
Very nice quaint little diner. They have fantastic falafel sammiches. Truly delicious. The spinach pies were also great. I would suggest you check them out. They have very fair prices on their food and was a welcomed surprise overall.
We make sure to stop by Safier whenever we go downtown and also over weekends.
They are one of the best and cost effective as well.
You will full after eating here.
Staff treats you nicely.
Owner was extremely kind to help us resolve a messy situation with a grubhub order. I was quite frustrated due to an unfortunate situation with our order but he offered the same food to us that should have come with our first order. We order from Safier very often and this was the first time we had problems. I am very appreciative of the owner to resolve and help us get the right food.
This place never disappoints.
Great staff
Great food
Great owners
Special mention goes to the Mutabal (baba ganoush) and the mango lassi.
Also the fries have a delicious herbal flavor because the oil is heavily seasoned from making falafel.
Bathrooms are always clean and the open kitchen looks spotless.
Well priced, busy Mediterranean/Indian restaurant!! Tried their chai latte before and it was not too bad! Got the mango lassi and chicken shawarma plate this time after seeing many others having it - they were both really delectable!! They’re always busy churning out the many orders they have, but the service was still really quick and friendly! Lovely and cozy place, will definitely be back!!
This place was delicious! I had never eaten here, and maybe not ever had Mediterranean Deli food. The guy at the counter helped me with my selection which ended up being a beef shish kabob over a delicious salad that had a light vinaigrette dressing, and some gherkin pickles. It was a LOT of salad, since I asked for extra salad and no rice. Their hummus was the best I've had, and the pita to go with it was also tasty! He even put a bite of chicken in my box to try it, since I'd never been there before. REALLY good food! See pictures on @Tingle Travel Agency on Facebook.
Possibly the best lunch spot in downtown. Fast, Friendly, and affordable with quality. Their shawarma sandwich is the best bang for your buck in the city.
This place was great! The price was fair and the guy (owner?? manager?) very hospitable and could tell that he wanted to make sure everyone was happy.
I had the spinach app. (can't remember the name) the taste was bitter which I didn't expect, but I think that's a common flavor for this type of dish.
The lentil soup was okay and super large. The sandwich was bigger than my hand and so cheap! Kabob plate was filling and delicious.
Would definitely recommend trying this place out!!
Fantastic! We stopped in on a weekend trip on a whim and had a great dinner. The hummus appetizer is a must try - very smooth and delicious.
Ordered biryani trays and fried chicken, awesome food! Biryani tasted authentic Hyderabad Biryani and fried chickens was better than any popular multi chain! Great food, good service! Owner is very humble person and responds well. Quality of food was awesome, Quantity was great for the price!
The best Mediterranean food in Louisville!! Remind a Moroccan flavours. High quality meat. Eggplant best one I had for longggg time
My favorite local Mediterranean food. There's no hummus or falafel like it in the city. The prices are fair, food is consistently good, and the people are lovely. I had my wedding night dinner here and was thrilled to death!
Great little spot for a quick lunch or takeout, with plenty of food for a reasonable price. I got the vegetarian platter, of which you can choose 4 out of a list of 6 or 7 options. I got hummus (very good), baba ganoush (delicious!), falafel (pretty good, only two pieces) and mujadara (ok). Two pieces of pita, presumably two for the hummus and two for the baba ganoush. The baba ganoush was the standout. It's counter serve with a few tables, nothing fancy, exactly what you would expect for this type of restaurant.
Quick, friendly service. was in and out in under 10 minutes during a long lined lunch rush. I always stock up on their lentil soup. Its my fav!
Great place for a quick and tasty lunch. Even during the lunch rush they push out food quickly, so don't be dissuaded by a line.
Fantastic. Food is fresh and full of flavor. People are friendly and it a clean establishment. Highly recommend the falafel and chicken shwarma!!
No frills deli with authentic Mediterranean fare. Generous portions, I really enjoyed the vegetarian platter with your choice of four items. The rice and lentil dish was outstanding. Safier has a sweet spot in historical a downtown location with a sidewalk patio. We stopped in for lunch, service was quick despite the midday crowd. We even snagged a great parking spot and a table outside.
Safier, never fails to disappoint. From their chicken shawarma wraps to the daily specials, even their vegetarian dishes are a must try. I've come to love the chicken Tikka Masala. Soft and tender chicken with curry sauce, it has opened my mind to venture out and try other Indian dishes and food from the middle east.
Solid halal Mediterranean food. Only downside was that I ordered delivery and they gave me a bottle of Aloe Water instead of fresh Mango Lassi
Friendly staff. Good prices. Big portions. DELICIOUS FOODS. I got the hummus & pita bread appetizer, for the price, it is a lot. Easily feeds 3-4 people. Very fresh and great taste. I love hummus, their recipe was so good. I don’t always like store bought hummus because the garlic is overpowering. This hummus was perfect. I also had the Kafta Kabob sandwich. This included ground beef, onions, spices, parsley, hummus, lettuce, tomato and pickle in a pita wrap and lightly grilled. So delicious and quite big!
I love Safier! You get plenty of food for a great price. Friendly staff too. Convenient downtown location. Fresh & delicious food. My favorite dish is the lamb biryani.
Absolutely wonderful! The chicken shawarma was excellent. Even the side salad was great. And the lentil soup is a must have. Next time we're in town we'll definitely be stopping here.
My FAVE Mediterranean food in louisville. A bit of a hole in the wall, but absolutely delicious. Their falafel in phenomenal. Chicken shawarma is to die for. And they have the smoothest hummus anybody has ever made. the garlic sauce. the pita. masala tea. everything is just wonderful.
This is the place to go!! This deli is a delight. More than a deli though, a great variety of Mediterranean dishes.
The inside was nothing special, yet very special. The tables, chairs and paint on the wall was average but the atmosphere was amazing. With interactive maps on the wall allowing customers to drop a pin where they are from. As you can see in the pictures this place has been visited from people all around the globe.
The chicken and beef shawarma plate was great. All fresh ingredients, the meat was tender (falling apart in your mouth), the rice was perfect. Mediterranean spices and herbs covered the dish making your taste buds dance with joy. #greatflavor
The staff was friendly and fun, even remembering customers by name and the last time they visited. You can tell they enjoy what they do and are passionate about their craft.
**But the hidden gym of Safier is the hidden menu item called “Mango Lassi”. It is a mango/yogurt purée that is to die for.
If you love Mediterranean food then this is the place for you!
I’ve ordered delivery and take out several times. Their food is so yummy! Little hole in the wall looking place next to the Palace but my oh my so good. Just recently picked up hummus with pita to take to a party.
Great restaurant, nice service and food taste good. I come here every Friday to get the lamb biryani but I can no longer give the place a 5 stars ⭐️ in my book because the price has gone up to $12 for a lesser amount of the rice and lamb portion in the take out container… hope that this can be looked into and changed.
Well seasoned shawarma with portion sizes to fill your deepest hunger. This has to be one of the best I’ve had in the US. You won’t be disappointed here. Salad also looked fantastic.
Very delicious place. It's great for a quick bite. The only improvement I would ask for is the cleanliness but I will honestly go there again.
I ordered the kafta kebab plate with hummus, and while the kafta was tasty, the portion was a little small for the price. Tons of rice and excellent hummus, however. The serving of pita that came with it was small, also. Nicely presented on the plate, but styrofoam plates are a little cheap and flimsy. Very friendly staff. I’d eat here again.
Delicious food and cheap. It won't filll the void left by a lack of doeners in America, but the shawarma was still great. The unknown pickled pink and purple stuff was good, too.
Good food at decent prices. Solid portion sizes, too. Atmosphere/ambiance could be a bit better, but I will eat here again.
Shawarma is flavorful and tasty. Halal food. The garlic paste is good too. Nice location near Downtown Louisville.
The whole staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and you get your money’s worth. Great vibes.
The food is very well prepared, clean and delicious! The hummus was perfectly made, the veggies had crunch, meats were cooked wonderfully... incredibly friendly staff and a good variety to choose from... highly recommend!
OMG this place is amazing, how am I just now finding out about this. Great people beautiful environment food comes up fresh and hot... I'll be back
Delicious food. Also good environment. However a little overpriced. They charge 75 cents for hot sauce!
A hidden gem, son and I had the chicken sandwich sharwma I believe it was called and it had a great grilled flavor and was spiced well. The sauce was excellent. Place was doing a steady business and I hope it is around for many years to come. Put this one on your bucket list!
Falafel, hummus, Greek salad, and the masala tea was amazing. Service was great.
I tried the lamb shank special. It was great! The meat practically fell off the bone. My friends' dishes were very good as well. It's a small restaurant, more suitable for take out.
I have never had anything that didn't taste extremely yummy from here. Because of them, I can't eat hummus from any other place anymore. It just doesn't compare. I currently have been trying to experiment with other things besides just the chicken shawarma and oh my gosh. The Lamb Briyana is sooooo delicious. I recommend this place to anyone in the area. The prices are great too, to match.
The staff is also always wonderful and it's such a pleasure to see them all! ♡
I had the beef shawarma plate. The beef was well seasoned and on a bed of fluffy rice. The salad with the plate was full of flavor.
Outdoor seating is a plus, during these crazy times.
The food is good, clean, the meat and chicken were cooked well with good seasons I definitely recommend
Food was delicious and Fresh, customer service was great. I will definitely return. Also walked in while a worker was feeding someone less fortunate and I found that very generous. Great place!
I never post about any places I've ate at. I ordered three different menu items and they were all amazing........ I went in for the baba ganoush which was sold out for the day I was told that happens often must be delicious. I ordered the falafel the stuffed bread with spinach and the Greek salad...... I will definitely be going back.
Hands down ny favorite place to eat in Louisville. I LOVE their dolmas. Great food, great service. Clean establishment, friendly staff and reasonable prices. The only negative is that there isn't one closer to my home. Going downtown is a drain!
The environment is just so so. But I really like the food. The taste is so good!
Good food, in and out fast for a hungry family exploring downtown Louisville.
Great food and prices. I'm partial to the shawarma sandwiches, especially the chicken. The flavor of the seasonings come together with the chicken and the vegetables on the pita bread so well along with the special garlic sauce that you will forget about a burger! I eat there at least twice a week. You won't be disappointed.
Delicious. Huge portions. Authentic. Will definitely be back. Some of the best we have had. Friendly staff, great service.
The best beef shwarma ever i prefer the sandwich. The Saturday special is to die for.
We absolutely love coming here!! The food is amazing, friendly staff, and are extremely quick with getting your food out to you!! We have been to several and none compare to Safier's! Hand down this is the best Mediterranean Restaurant!
The food was delicious and priced fairly.
The decor was meh.
But I'd go back for the food, definitely.
It's still one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in town!!
Cheat eatery good for lunch. I had the beef shawarma plate which was well seasoned and tender.
This was one of the best resteraunts I have been to. The cooks were amazing, fast and extremely polite and engaging. I would have gave 5 stars but the women that took our order at the counter was unhelpful & unpleasant. All in all it was very good food.
Was in town for work and stopped by here to pick up food for lunch. Quick and delicious. Got the beef and chicken combo, mango lassi and baklava.
Friendly staff. Good service. Great meal! Very large portions.
Great food, not too expensive! We stopped after we were St the St James Court Art Show...YUM!
Yooo this place is the Bomb i had the Kabob Sandwich....Yuuuuuuumy this is Located in Louisville Kentucky on Fourth Street a block off of Broadway..
I’m in vegetarian heaven: tabbouleh with lots of lemon; mutabal so fresh and smooth … good falafel and hand rolled grape leaves. Long line but it moves fast.
One of my favorite places to eat downtown. They have some of the best hummus I have ever tasted. It is inexpensive which is always a plus.
Great food and prices. Chicken shawarma sandwich was excellent
Today I visited my friend for Halloween all the way from Indiana with my girl friend and wanted to try something new for dinner and found this place, and wanted to try their food. We had that Safier Mixed and ABC as they called i guess Athenian Chicken which were delicious. And I noticed many customers were getting their hummus so we tried that one too, came with pita, was amazing. Good customer service, very friendly stuff. Definitely recommend
Absolutely delicious and friendly staff.
Very good Mediterranean if you're downtown, the falafel, hummus and mutalbil are always enjoyable. The biggest problem is the pita which is almost as thin as paper and very stiff. That aside, it is still the best Mediterranean in the city to my knowledge, I would highly recommend it.
Best lamb shank special, awesome hummus and garlic sauce. Everything is ALWAYS fresh
Excellent food and the friendliest owner ever. He even offered me a complimentry Indian tea after finishing the lovely chicken shawerma sandwich and it was the most delicious beverage I have tasted recently
Stumbled upon this gem around 2004, and have been going every since. The fried tilapia meal is my favorite .
Had not been here to eat for a few years and I forgot just how good the food is here. It's a no frills, low budget place well worth trying.
Food was best I had while in Louisville!! Portion size was huge!!
So delicious and amazing service! The take out order was ready in no time and the guy at the counter was super friendly and kind. Highly recommend this spot! Amazing authentic food!!
In the past 15 years I've been a customer there, I have never had a nasty meal there! It's good quality food that I've always enjoyed. My favorite meals are the Safier Mixed Grill and homemade fresh hummus. They also have very good vegetarian meals. My favorite is the Mujadara. A great place to go to lunch or go on a date in the evenings and it doesn’t cost too much money. It's the best Mediterranean restaurant in town!
My family has been going to safier for years now. We love the food and the people. However, the quality has gone slightly downhill since the pandemic. Overall, amazing falafel amazing hummus and pretty good chicken.
Ironic to post a review here when I ordered nothing. I was sitting in an industrial park when a fellow truck driver offered me a sandwich (a chicken wrap or something). He insisted that I tried it, told me where it came from, and promised that I would like it. I've had deli food before, never was impressed, but I was hungry and was already searching on my mobile phone for a place to order from.
You can taste the love that went into the preparation of this food. The blend of herbs and spices was present from the first bite to the last, not like it was just slapped together. The ingredients were of perfect quality and quantity to enhance the flavor of the entire sandwich, nothing overpowering. I will remember this place next time that I'm in the area!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 star Restaurant flavor from a tiny little deli!
Chicken shawarma and spinach pie: I’d recommend everyone to eat here although it’s my first time ordering my from here and everything is great, I love it and I will be ordering from here again !
Had the chicken schwarma. It was pretty good. I will be back
Great chicken shawarma, fast and flavorful.
Great food for a great price. We usually take out but it's a quick spot to stop and dine in if you are in the downtown area. Outdoor seating on a relatively quite street. Staff is always friendly and service is fast.
Fast service, delicious falafel, recommend the masala tea
Big fan of Safier (safeer), I get the shawarma in steak and I get one in chicken sometimes too. Their wraps and plates are really good and a great price too.
This is the best place to get mediterranean food in the central states. Eat here. Tell Abu I sent you.
The food was amazing. It was quick service hot and very delicious. I had a soup and a wrap/burrito that was vegetarian. I can't think of the name but it was awesome!! Will definitely be visiting here again soon. If not weekly.
Surprisingly great food at inexpensive prices. Highly recommended.
It's ok. Shawarma wrap was in super thin pita, almost a tortilla. Garlic sauce on wrap was eh. Chicken was extra smokey. Fries were good and got a huge portion.
Safier is such an incredible restaurant. So lucky a friend took me here a few years ago. The chicken shawarma is unbelievably good with its grill flavor. The garlic sauce and hummus are the best I’ve had in my life. Our whole family— including a picky 9-year-old with autism — all LOVE Safier. The chicken shawarma sandwich is currently only $5.50 which is a freaking steal. Go now!!
Really good food for the price. Huge crispy falafel wrap for a few bucks. Great value.
Amazing experience! I'm usually very picky when it comes to restaurants, and Safier surpassed my expectations. I was welcomed with a wide smile and a warm greeting by the owner, who was working alongside his employees. I ordered a beef shawarma plate and was pleased with the portion size, taste and customer service. Will definitely come again.
If you're are contemplating visiting, I highly recommend you do. You will not be disappointed!
I'm vegetarian so I got a wrap and it was so good! I love the flavors! Definitely going to have to go back.
Pretty long walk from downtown but good food and huge portion... don't bother ordering the fries, you won't need the extra food, the wraps are large.
Hands down the best Mediterranean restaurant in the city!! The portions are gigantic. Service and food quality are top notch. It's worth the drive downtown.
The food is excellent!
The service is friendly and helpful.
And they're great with allergy questions, and making sure the customer leaves happy with tasty and filling food!!
Highly recommend!
And we make sure we visit every time we're in the area!!
Decent mediterranean food. A couple small things bugged me with my order - the hummus had too much lemon juice, the kofta was too dry, and the baklava was also a touch dry - but for the price and service definitely worth it.
Great food. Have it lunch all the time.
The food here is rather good for something that gets served roughly as quick as a Jimmy John's sandwich. The pricing is not terrible, though for what I spent I would like to have felt a little more full. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate today with a piece of baklava for dessert. I do not regret this choice. If you find yourself on or around theatre square at lunch time and you don't have much time to spare, then I can't think of a better place than Safier to grab a quick bite.
One of my favorite restaurant in the city of Louisville. I have never had anything that has been disappointing. The service is great and it's pretty fast. The masala tea is to die for. And everything just tastes amazing. I recommend this place to anyone who is downtown. Skip fourth Street and find a small local restaurant instead.
Go to restaraunt when we are in town. Love the chicken schwarma. I get a side of pickled turnips. They have gluten free options
Food is always excellent! Never a bad meal and good pricing.
Good food, as always. Authentic Middle Eastern (Lebanese style, not Greek) food - shawarma, falafel, hummus...
A little disappointed that they didn't get our takeout order quite right this time though. A falafel ball less in the box & missing an extra tahini side order. The pita pack used to be 3 to a pack are now just 2 per pack.
But otherwise we have enjoyed their consistently good Lebanese-style food for years. Hard to find anywhere else in town. And they have some Indian specials too each day.
Best food, all around the menu! There’s nothing I haven’t tried and not enjoyed.
Icing on the cake: Best manager Younes and friendly workers like thee Amigo.
They have the best lentil soup in Louisville and superb hummus. Fast, friendly service. Eat in or take it with you. You will be happy you ate at Safier. I don't eat meat so can't comment personally, but my friends who ate meat dishes were impressed.
By far the best place in Louisville if this is what you're looking for. The falafel was so fragrant and soft inside, but crispy and golden on the out, for example. The grape leaves weren't overly fibrous and held the right acidity in each bite... Honestly can't wait to go back.
I try to be vegan or vegitarian when possible, and the falafel sandwich is AMAZING. I’ve lived everywhere from metro Detroit to Brandon, MB and this is the best Mediterranean I’ve had. The hummus is so good, even my 5 year old was stealing it from me.
Great food, large portions and friendly staff. You can't go wrong because it's all tasty.
Fresh, delicious, fast and friendly. Absolute best lunch spot on 4th street. Skip all the over-priced chains (I love you, Guy, but c'mon) and hit this place up. Thrilled that they've weathered the COVID storm and hope that the office workers will return and support this place, they deserve it.
This is the most delicious authentic Mediterranean food I've ever tasted! Though I love far away, sometimes I think about this place and consider a reason to travel just to eat it. The food is give to you quick and without any kind of over the top pompousness. I will advise you to avoid the lunch rush! Because this is a very popular place!
The food is just delicious. Shawarma with extra sauce is my favorite. Best hummus in town, has a flavor that I don’t find anywhere else. Staff is amazing.
What a great little place for Persian food. Stopped in here for a quick dinner. Everyone was super accommodating and friendly. We were there close to closing time and the staff and for was excellent. The chicken shawarma is definitely one to try. We'll be back for sure.
Always good and ready quickly. Great hummus
Really good place. We had a vegetable platter and a veggie sandwich 🥪 also, mango lassi is amazing, simply delicious. Reasonable prices, good service, and also they are serious about safety during COVID. Recommend! …
Fabulous food at inexpensive prices. Ordered takeout for my family that was staying in hotel nearby. Food took 5-10 min to prepare and was warm and ready to go upon arrival. Hummus was to die for. Total cost to feed 5 people was $37 after tax.
This is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat!!! Food is delicious and the people are always super friendly!!! 😎😋😋 …
Very friendly staff, amazing food, good prices
Food was delicious and service was great.. ask for the special of the day and order the extra garlic sauce for $0.75 cents
Great food at a very reasonable price. My lunch go-to if I'm in a hurry. In and out!
The Mediterranean style food here was very good. It's a small, fast food style place with great choices for vegetarians. My husband got the beef shawarma, a heaping plate of food. I had the vegetarian platter 4 choices from a selection of 8 items. Great food. Great price.
Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
Food was great. We ordered three different meals and loved them all. They were quite busy right after we ordered and ended up forgetting our order so we waited almost 30 mins for our food. Also, I ordered the tea but they forgot to make more or something so after we finally received our food we were told it would be an additional 10 mins. The man behind the counter was nice, though, and offered for us to trade instead for any other beverage. Like I mentioned before, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the price was reasonable- $30 for three meals, a side of spinach pie and the drink. Would definitely recommend.
What can I say? The hummus is amazing. The kabobs are delicious. The falafels were cooked perfect. The rice was superb. Shawarma oh my my. No doubt the best mediterranean food in the city. This place is a must visit.
This place is amazing. A refreshing menu for downtown Lou. Fantastic food with perfect flavors. Definitely going to be crowded during the lunch rush, but they crank the food out fast. Our 2 1/2 year old loved everything as much as we did.
Awesome food and awesome staff. Low key casual environment with tons of culture. Hot spot for locals and tourists. Chicken shawarma will knock your socks off....twice! The seasoning on the chicken pairs great with the garlic sauce.
Well seasoned rice, delicious beef kafta, excellent hummus. We were waiting for an appointment a few blocks away and had a little over a half hour to eat--this was the perfect spot.
Helpful counter service and good Mediterranean classics at a reasonable price.
I stumbled on this restaurant after finding out my original destination had closed. The food is wonderful with nice size portions (so much rice!) and the price is very reasonable. There was a line since it was during the lunch rush so I expected a wait but they were very fast and friendly. I'll definitely eat here again!
Best medeteranian food in town. No question about this place. Food is always great, and they have the best Falafel sandwish in town. You will never be disappointed at this place.
BEST HUMMUS I HAVE EVER HAD! Every time I am in Louisville I buy multiple orders of hummus. All of their food is great but I must say this hummus is on another level!
Wonderful middle eastern food, with a sampling of Indian! Nice ingredients, very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. Cleanliness good. Who would have thought this was downtown Louisville?
I usually go here a few times a week because I work downtown. I love their food and the staff and always very friendly. They have also not changed their prices in years which is a bonus!
I visit Louisville every January and Safier is a must stop. It is one block from the famous Brown Hotel. There food is inexpensive but incredibly good. My favorite is the chicken shawarma plate or wrap but their falafel is excellent and hummus is excellent. The staff are incredibly nice and their cooks are spectacular. Great for lunch or dinner. I suspect their desserts are good but I am usually too full to eat dessert. This is a must is you like Mediterranean food.
You order at the counter and they bring your food to you on disposable plates. It's not the fanciest place, but the food is incredible! They have the best hummus I've ever tasted, and the portion is pretty large. I always share it with a friend.
They always have a daily special, and last time it was biriyani. Wow, I was so impressed with this dish and can't believe I'm just now discovering it! You could choose chicken or lamb, and I picked lamb. The sauce was a red brown sauce with incredible spices and some heat to it. This was paired with rice and the side house salad. Plenty of leftovers!
There's usually a line at lunch, but they move quickly and it's so worth the wait!
This place was amazing the shawarma was delicious (make sure to add the garlic sauce to it) and super filling. 10/10 would do again.
Great tastey Mediterranean food. I have tried a variety of items on the menu and enjoy all. The portions are favorable and at times I order from the kids menu to save a few bucks.Friendly and clean. Outside tables for dining. Now on doordash, so I eat more often😃Panhandlers are annoying.Poor parking have to use the paid garage. …
I found this place on Google and went there for the first time today. It was FANTASTIC! I had the chicken shwarama, Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves, and hummus w/ pita. The flavors were rich and the portions generous. Price was incredibly cheap for the quality of food. Highly recommend! I WILL be back!
We absolutely love this place.
My wife lived in Saudi Arabia for 4 years in her youth and she says this is the closest thing she can get to authentic, delicious Shawarma in Louisville.
We come here, and we'd gladly pay 20$ a pop (although you don't have to, pricing is fair) for the Shawarma. It's delicious.
My sister and I get take out from here at least once a month and have NEVER had a single mess up on our order. The food is always fantastic, the portions are enough for 2 meals, the service is prompt and courteous and the restaurant is always clean. Highly recommend with only issue being limited parking so prepare yourself to walk the block. 😉
Five stars all they way! Safier has got a lot of great things going for it. Excellent quality and consistency of menu items, the staff is hard working and always so friendly, and it's locally owned. The shawarma is out of this world, silky hummus, fantastic falafel - I could go on and on. I'm so thankful they are here.
Delicious & not super expensive! Vegan friendly, somewhat close to the Kentucky International Convention Center (10 min walk)
I'm used to more seasoning on the chicken and rice plates.
Been coming here for years and the quality has never faltered. Have had pretty much everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The lunch rush can get crazy crowded so I usually go for an early or late lunch. My go to order is a shawarma sandwich with an order of tabouleh, add their chili sauce it's a great version of a harissa.
I've tried so many medditerian restaurants but this one had a different touch to it. The rice was actually biryani and with the grilled chicken, I never thought it would be such a good combination. Even their sauces had a perfect taste, not too strong or spicy. Loved the food! Would definitely come again.
The food is amazing! I eat here regularly and the staff is very swift and friendly. Must try thier hummus its so smooth and creamy just so flavorful. Rated #1 Mediterranean resturants in Louisville for several years.
Very delicious and very reasonably priced! Also, they had plenty of options for vegetarians!
Been a customer for years... had it yesterday and not sad about going today.😁 The staff is awesome... The meats are tender and seasoned to perfection, cinnamon (yes cinnamon), turmeric, and so many more that explode in your mouth! Hummus is out of this world!!! Let just say the baklava MELTS onto your taste buds and will make you forget you have a nut allergy🥴 The entire place A definite worthy trip down 4th street I promise 🤗 FYI The shawarma didn't make it home😜😆
I have been coming here for years and never been disappointed for the quality of the food and customer service. I highly recommend this place for Mediterranean food.
Small eatery on 4th Street. No frills place that serves really great authentic Mediterranean food. Very generous servings. Food tastes great and service is really good. A good selection of desserts are available if you have a sweet tooth. Highly recommend if you're in this part of the town
If your downtown around lunch time, then this is a great place to have an inexpensive and quick bite to eat. Friday's special is lamb biryani. It is served generously on a place with salad, yogurt sauce, and pita bread. It was flavorful and delicious! We sat outside and enjoyed lunch on a nice sunny day.
The wait time could be improved. On this particular visit the cashier was playing a little too much & caught him with his cell phone out three times. I got home & saw that they left the pita bread out of my order too. The Chicken Shawarma was fresh & delicious as always.
Great location to grab a bite before catching a show at the palace or the brown theater. The food is always tasty, and the service fast. The only downside is on a busy evening, there may not be seating as it is a small place. This is more of a concern during the colder months, as they have tables outside during the summer which allows for more seating.
I'm in town for a meeting, this was just a lunch on my own before the meeting starts; that was probably the best food I'll eat the entire time I'm here! Flavorful, fresh, and great prices for the volume of food. The place is nothing fancy, but who cares? The food is AMAZING. I got a beef shawarma platter; beef was flavorful, great hummus and tahini sauce, and the fresh salad and pickles really made it substantial without being heavy. Highly recommended.
Good food at a friendly local restaurant.
The food and quality is absolutely unbeatable!! Just recently discovered on Postmates and have ordered 5 times now! Every single thing we’ve order has been so delicious, fresh and has such great flavors!! Thank you Safier Team!!!
The food is always good, fresh and delicious. Many Indian dishes are for lunch special. Place is always buzzing with good folks. When weather is good eating outside is nice. Oh forgot to mention that prices are wallet friendly.
I go here for the shawarma all the time, which I absolutely love.. the service is quick and friendly. The only down side is that the street is narrow and there are only a few metered parking spots.. but there's a parking garage right behind it on 3rd that only charges $1 and it's only a short walk down the alley. I took one star off for parking..
Best place to eat in Louisville, Ky!!KY!!! The service is amazing.
Outstanding experience!!!
Dinner specials are the best. I also got a veggie wrap that was so fresh and tasted great.
Only started frequenting this spot in the last year, despite having worked up the street for a few years now. My go to is the beef shawarma sandwhich, a GREAT value (just shy of 6 bucks for a sizable portion). They have a pretty heavy lunch rush, which is to be expected, but well worth the visit.
One of my favorite spots for a quick lunch. Watch out if you come at noon-there will be a line and probably no place to sit, but that's because it's really good food. Very nice staff, clean kitchen, and quick service. Some of the best Lebanese food around.
Great lunch spot. Service was extremely fast. Prices were very reasonable. It was full but a table opened up while I was waiting in line to order. I had the falafel platter and it was great. My only (minor) complaint is that they don't give you a lot of tahini. I love a lot of tahini and could have eaten another whole container.
The owner is so nice and the food is fantastic!!! Love the kabobs and shawarma.
My delivery order to a nearby hotel did not disappoint at all. Fresh, wonderful Middle Eastern food, everything prepared perfectly. I will order again the next time I'm back in Louisville for business. Excellent food! $5 delivery charge. Worth it.
Ordered the chicken biryani special today. First of all, I don't want a side of rice in my salad. Secondly, the container of dressing was, maybe, one third full. By the way, the pita was dry and chewy, too. Yesterday the chicken in the shawarma sandwich was dry, barely warm and too salty. This place used to be consistently great. Now it's consistently inconsistent. Time for a break.
This place is amazing! I was completely hooked after a lunch date I had here years ago. The date was not so great but the food COMPLETELY made up for it! I probably eat here once a week.....on a bad week when I need some extra comfort....I have eaten here 3 times. :-/ I've never had anything bad from this place. I love everything here but my personal favorites are the hummus, Chicken Shwarma sandwich, chicken shwarma and the kabobs! I hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
Perfect food at the perfect price. Chicken saag and chicken tikka marsla are great. The jasmine rice is always cooked to perfection. If they are not running g those specials try a chicken swarma sandwich.
So, so, so good. I had the beef/chicken plate and substituted hummus. Best hummus ever. And the garlic sauce is heavenly. Will be coming back to Louisville again specifically to eat here again. Really, really tasty.
I was traveling through the state and I decided to stop somewhere to have a quick bite, and I couldn't imagine how lucky I was to stop by this place. I ordered chicken and beef shawarma, both were super good! Absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, and fast! Highly recommended for quick bites!
Great halal middle eastern food. Quiet busy during lunch time so come early. Great food and drinks overall.
The dude in the red hat needs to chill, he gives off a very tense vibe and shouts at fellow employees for no apparent reason...
Amazing food and staff. Younis brings great flavors no matter what you order. The sandwiches and the entree’s are delicious and salad is always fresh. I moved from Louisville but it’s always on my list whenever visiting or passing by Louisville!
Amazing food! Virtually no wait time and the staff was warm, welcoming, and happy. You can tell the staff love what they do and it shows in the quality of the food. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone!
This was an excellent choice for me and my sister. We went with the platter and got a great sampling of different versions of spinach pie, falafel, dolmades, and baba ganoush. Then we had a chicken shawarma platter with hummus substitute option! A+. When the local police eat at the restaurant you know it’s good! The baklava was a great finish! Well done Safier!
Quick service, friendly staff, delicious food
One of the busiest lunch restaurant in Louisville. If you’re not getting a Chicken Shawarma with garlic aioli and hot sauce you’re doing it wrong. The specials are good as well. The wraps can be a tad hard and you better call ahead.
Excellent shawarma! A louisville staple
First time here and and our experience was amazing! The food was fresh and delicious and the customer service was first class!
My husband and I had the chicken swarma wraps and they did not disappoint. Generous portions and excellent flavor. Get the hummus, it is the best I have had thus far...it was sooo good we got some to go! And the baklava 👌😋 topped it off with perfection! Thanks for the wonderful experience. ❤
Btw: the prices won't break your bank! 2 swarma wraps, side of hummous to test, baklava and an appetizer hummous to go plus tip= $20
the experience= priceless
Food is the best of its kind in louisville. I worked downtown until covid happened and i begun working from home. I still take the time to drive from jtown all the way downtown for no reason other than Safiers.
Good Mediterranean place in town... Ordered it online.. Good portion and packaging... We ordered Chicken schwarma sandwich , Mutabal Hummus, Baklava..
- Chicken Schwarma was great .. Has a nice taste.. i guess one was not enough..
- Mutabal ( baby ganuje ) it was ok.. Did not came as to what i expected.. maybe their style is different..
- baklava was for my last sweet tooth.. it was too small and bit pricy compared to portion.. but tasted good..
- Hummus and pitas.. always the best.. great taste with the sides.. soft good pitas..
Surely recommended to Mediterranean lovers..
Hands down the best Med. food in Lou. Authentic food, authentic people. You can't go wrong here. I recommend to all my friends who want to experience the best of Lou food. Go! You won't be disappointed.
Really good food and fair prices. Not a huge fan of the overall atmosphere, paper plates, plastic-ware, Styrofoam cups, etc. though.
Omg the Lamb was so good
This place is awesome. Had the shawarma sandwich and hummus. The sandwich was fantastic and the hummus..... Oh my, it was nothing short of spectacular. Make sure you get the hummus, I can't wait to stop back next time I'm in Louisville.
This place is tucked on S 4th near the Palace and walking distance from 4th Street Live and the downtown hotels. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced, and the service is great. I get the vegetarian platter with hummus, dolmas, lentils and rice, and falafel. It comes with pita, which is not the best I've ever had but makes a great conduit for the delicious hummus. The tzatziki also tasted really fresh and was some of the best I've had. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are seeing a show at The Palace or the Mercury Ballroom!
The Food was interesting. The facility was dirty.
Honestly, the best shawarma I've had and the hummus is amazing. They were out of mango lassi but it didn't matter in the end.
Also, they were nice enough to deal with anxious, awkward butt as I changed my order repeatedly at the counter. I don't recommend being that guy, but the point stands: they're good people.
Was in Louisville for a few days due to work and visited Safier twice. It was authentic food at a great price. I had their vegetarian platter with hummus/pita, tabbouleh, mujadara, and falafel and every single bite was enjoyable. Their baklava was also amazing! The palce gives the feel of a small restaurant in the Middle East, and the service brought me fond memories of my recent trip to Jordan.
Safier is THE BEST Mediterranean restaurant in town. The food is superb and service is wonderful. I come from Jtown just to eat here. Best hummus ever and the staff are fantastic. They are like family. Love it!!!!
Awesome Mediterranean dishes. The kabobs are great, service is fast, but the restaurant itself gets hectic at lunch time. First timers be warned, it's a bit intimidating because you'll feel rushed. But the servers/cooks have always been nice and helpful
Always perfect in food, service, etc!
This was my first time here and the food was pretty tasty but the customer service was awesome. Zahra took the time to answer all my questions and recommended several things which I tried. The falafel and the desserts were delicious. Thanks for the great experience.
So freaking good!!! I would eat here all the time if I could.
Very good! The hummus was sooo good. I had the Chicken tawook, which is basically a chicken kabob. When I first looked at it, I thought this will never fill me up. It was more than enuf w/rice also. Plus you got a green salad. I would like to go back.
It's really good food, something I'm not used to but uts good
When I think of Mediterranean food, my first stop is Safier ... also my kids and wife love it.
The right combination of prices -quality-quantity.
Clean and great customer service.
Very friendly chief, peasant people who will go beyond expectation to offer you a great experience.
My best dishes are:
The veggie:
My favorite appetizers: Baba Ganoush & Hummus *****
My favorite salad: Greek *****
and of course the lentil soup *****
When I wanna have proteins, I choose one of 2 entrees: Chicken Tawook or Chicken Biryani *****
oh yes I forgot chicken shawarma which is perfectly seasoned and cooked just right
If you are tea fun like me, try their Masala Tea (like chai)… awesome!!!
Overall I like this place and highly recommended it.
Thank you and keep it up Safier
Abdelilah
There staff is amazing. Even though our order was messed up and my mom was angry at the employees, they kept their cool and worked through my mom's bickering and found a solution that worked. Even I haven't been able to do that in the 23 years that I've known her.
Still the best after all these years.
It is a busy little place, and the service is always great and friendly. I think they have some of the best hummus in town, along with their shawarma. Never had anything bad.
Loved the place. I'm from out of town and I was really impressed how good everything I had tasted .
THE BEST. Have dined on site, ordered to-go, as well as worked with Safier for various levels of catering. Each experience has been as fantastic as the food itself!
The food here is always great - fresh, hot and fast. Their chicken lime rice soup will cure any cold! And the staff is pleasant and helpful.
Here from Atl staying at the hotel nest door, tried for the first time 10 mins ago and is awesome tasty. Got the daily special and a side of hummus, generous portions and everything is mouth watering. I will definitely come again.
Nice little place. The food was outstanding. I would definitely recommend eating here if in the area. We found it on Google as we were traveling from Chicago to Jacksonville. Great food, friendly employees. Could use some ac in the building.
This is one of the best places to eat in town. Very friendly service, the food is excellent. The prices are very low, quality is high and the establishment is very clean. Great for one or the entire family.
I go there on a regular since its walking distance from my job. I Love the Thursday Special and the Chicken wrap and their Salads!! Very Nice atmosphere, Friendly Staff..
The best shawarma, hummus, chicken biryani, more... Super friendly staff, but they get busy so be ready
Very good and plentiful food in a small restaurant
This place is amazing! Usually wrapped around to corner to get in and it's worth the wait! The Chicken Shawarma is the best I've ever had... A must try!
The chicken shawarma sandwich is to die for! It tastes even better with an extra side of hummus and hot sauce! They make their own hot sauce too. I've brought about 10 friends here and they all absolutely loved it! Their falafels are also very good.
Hummus was decent but too smooth, like they blended it too much. The beef shawerma was the best thing we ordered. The tabouleh was delicious, and the rolled grape leaves were ok, but I prefer the cold ones (which I think are Greek, not Lebanese). Overall, a satisfying meal, but nothing to go out of your way for. If you're in the area and craving Mediterranean, go for it.
Simple elegant restaurant, that serves up portions of chicken & beef dishes. Their platter portions are large and food is prepared to order. Their close time is 8pm, thus heat to arrive by 7 or so.
It's got good food, and the prices aren't terrible. There's very little ability to sit down and dine though. Much better catered in my opinion. But they're pretty good for the price.
Good mediterranean menu. Quick service. Night crew seems to be friendlier and faster than day crew, have had one lady in particular that has been rude more than once. Only reason I didn't give a solid 5 star.
Very tasty food. Paid 8 bucks for some appetizer and this huge falafel sandwich . Both were hot and delicious and they have GOOD hot sauce and pretty good hummus it's like if Heinz ketchup had a hummus
The best Mediterranean restaurant in the downtown area. Mouthwatering, with a fresh authentic taste. I love Safier! A definite must try if you are ever in the area. They also deliver through Doordash.
Shwarma is delicious. Customer service is good other than the kid that takes the orders. He is very rude and unprofessional. But if you can get past him and his very crude humor than the rest of the experience will be nice
I ordered the chicken shawarma plate with hummus. The food tasted great and the servings were big and fairly priced. I think the only thing that could of been better was the pita bread.
It's been awhile since I visited last time, but the taste of food is not good for me. It's very tasty during 2014-2017 but not anymore. You can try lamb biryani over every Friday.
Safier. OH, the flavors!
Working where I do, on those days that you didn't bring your lunch or want something different Safier is often that place. Sure, there are other lunch places within less than a ten minute walk, but Safier is definitely a standout. Quite possibly THE BEST lunch on Fourth Street.
First thing's first, if you go between 11:00 and 1:00 on a weekday this place is going to be busy. Very busy. It's not uncommon for the line to order to be out the door. While a number of eateries may find that intimidating, Safier is such a well-oiled machine that they don't even think about it. It's not uncommon to see 8 to 12 people working a lunch rush, each one hurriedly but focusedly (?) working to get orders out accurately and efficiently.
Safier is not a huge restaurant, sporting maybe 12-16 tables, but with the large percentage of takeout orders and the table turnaround, you seldom find yourself wanting for a table.
The menu isn't extensive, but what is on it is solid. My personal favorite is the Beef Shawarma Sandwich. It's just the right size (and, at about $6, the right price) for a quick lunch. I don't know what kind of magic they do, but the beef is A-Maz-Ing. The Greek Salad is an excellent choice for lunch, too.
The machine that is Safier is amazing to watch.
-Place your order at the counter
-Sit down (or stand to the side if you're picking up carryout)
-The wheels start to turn and the people on the line crank out great food.
-Listen closely
-When your number is called one of the staff will bring the food to your table (or where you may be standing)
-*BOOM* amazing food is upon you.
Having visited Safier a couple dozen times, I have never had to wait more than five minutes for my food. The staff is always hustling and will to answer questions. The atmosphere is "quick workday lunch, but MAN, is this food DEElicious!"
Go here. Seriously. The only regret you'll have is that the meal has to end.
...but you'll be back.
Everything is fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere is very basic, served cafeteria style on disposal dishes. However, if there is better quality Mediterranean food in the area, I'd like to hear about it...
Awesome awesome awesome. By far the best and most authentic lebanese shawarma and lebanese food ive had outside of dearborn, michigan. (lebanese/arab capital of the united states) the food was on point, everything fresh, very friendly and nice staff and i cant complain about the prices. 5.50 for a shawarma is great and they are stuffed. I will be returning back without a doubt. If youre looking for anything mediterannean related, come here.
Well-rounded menu and really great food. Shawarma was great and baba ganoush was excellent. Excellent value also, my family of four didn’t break the bank. Really friendly staff and clean, convenient location. Recommended.
The employees were very friendly. Food was pretty good. The biggest downfall was having to deal with all the pan handlers begging for money on the sidewalk outside the door, which I know the local business can't help...
This place is amazing! Great service and even better food! This place is in a great area to walk around and find something to do after!
Love this place! Delicious authentic Mediterranean food! The veggie platter is definitely worth the money - pick three veggie items for $10. It's a lot of food and so good!!
I drive from the East End thru downtown rush hour traffic to get there, AND IT'S WORTH IT THE EFFORT! Truly authentic Mediterranean and Indian food, wonderful staff, and more than fair prices. Highly recommend lamb shank Saturday also! Even better, park in 5th Street garage, and the door let's out right in front of Safiers.
Spicy Saag Paneer is my favorite!
Always great food and employees who are genuinely glad to be there. Nothing fancy - but great, authentic Mediterranean food served on paper plates. Fair prices, very generous portions.
I was too busy enjoying my Beef Sawharma that I did not take snapshots of the beautiful sandwich. For only $5 AND it's more than a footlong with declioius, fresh ingredients? Move over Subway, any day!
One less a star for outdoor dining Inconvenient because there are way too many people asking for handouts and the food I'm eating. 😕
Food was ok, but the place was dirty. They don't bus the tables, the trash was overflowing, and when they did empty it because customers were stacking the trash up like a tower, they left a trail of trash through the restaurant. People were having to walk around it, so finally, the person I was with kicked it into pile out of the way. People were nice, though.
Speedy service, great staff, all-around great menu with amazing prices. The falafel sandwich is almost too much to eat for $5! Would recommend to anyone.
Service is very quick and friendly. I've been going here since I was a child. The taste and friendliness of staff hasn't changed even after management was changed. Definitely recommend for a casual lunch with friends.
Excellent, fairly priced food. Even with it being cheap the customer service is amazing. One of my new favorite places
Consistently the best I've had over the past 14 years. Best Hummus. If I had to eat this food everyday I wouldn't complain. I'd probably cry tears of joy.
Epitome of hole-in-the-wall delicious. You know it's good when it's this small but this busy. Their chicken shawarma is snatch -- and incredibly cheap for the amount of food and all-around delightful eating experience.
+10 for a great back wall mural. Louisville design ftw.
It's sooo good. I recommend visiting several times to try everything on the menu
Amazing Food. Great Hospitality. Owner Youness is a very humble person- maintained great taste and quality over more than a decade now.
Never disappointed! They have the best Athenian Broiled Chicken. Be sure to get extra pitas and hummus it’s perfect!
I was extremely pleased with Safier. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma and a plate of hummus. It was to die for! It was very good. The staff was great too. I'll definitely be back!
Food was decent but nothing to rave about. Had to ask for a sauce instead of them giving it to me with my order. Service was sub par, but quaint restaurant with reasonable pricing.
I’ll walk very much out of my way just for their hummus. One of Louisville’s most underrated spots.
I eat at this restaurant on a regular basis for lunch and dinner. Sometimes I like to sit out front on 4th St between Broadway and Chestnut at one of the tables on the sidewalk out in front of Safier's. There is a lot of action if there is something going on at The Mercury Ballroom, Fourth Street Live!, the Brown Theatre or the Louisville Palace Theatre. Carry out is just as good and is super convenient for me to walk from my place which is only a couple blocks away. I recommend the Beef and Chicken Shawarma plate with Humus instead of the salad and Baklava for dessert. The entire staff is made up of great people who take pride in serving great food. You will not be disappointed.
My wife and I are from Indianapolis and I would travel here again just to eat here. If you want authentic food this is the place. BEST MEAL IN A LONG TIME 😎😎 …
I could not be more hype about this restaurant. The food is to die for with an array of spices and textures. The hummus is silky smooth and beautifully presented. If you’re reading this come here.
Great place to have a quick bite of authentic Mediterranean food. Chicken shawarma was very good. Basmati rice was also really good. I will be back again next time i pass through. The staff was also very friendly.
Lamb biriyani (once a week) is great. A bit dry, so you can ask for some gravy (free). The pitta bread dries up too fast to enjoy, and hummus is priced extra. Spicy.
I was visiting the town and I haven't tried do Mediterranean food for a long time. Went to safier and it was awesome! It's worth the money. Will come back next time for sure!
Fantastic food and incredibly friendly staff. If you're in the mood for chicken shawarma, falafel, hummus, and more, this is the place to be. Authentic, affordable, and delicious. You'll be happy you went.
Didn't like the restaurant. Food was okay. I have had Mediterranean several times but this was nothing like it. It was neither Mediterranean nor Indian. The chicken biryani was the worst. Chicken was very dry in the shawarma. Didn't like it at all
By far my favorite place to eat downtown. The team there is always super friendly! It's also the only place I'll get hummus from... Idk how they do it but it's amazing.
One of the best places you'll ever eat. Food is always great. Service is very good and you don't wait too long for your food.
Large portions, but just average. Friendly fast service. Food was not hot. We ate in. Not fancy.
The food is really good but it's kind of pricey for a self service dive. The outdoor dining would be nice except the tables have bird droppings on them and there's usually at least one vagrant occupying one of them, shouting obscenities or begging for money.
When I crave authentic mediterranean food, I go to safier. Their lentil soup makes me feel like my mom made it for me. I love that their portions are generous.
This is my favorite Mediterranean food in louisville. The beef shawarma sandwich is sooo amazing! The hummus is also great! It is always very clean and staff is very friendly. highly recommend!!
Safier is the place to go downtown! It's also the best place to pick up food for family that has a member in hospital. Get it on the go and move on! Beautiful eats.
If you looking for great Lebanese food this is your place. The baba ganoush takes me back home. Prices are extremely fair and all of the staff is super friendly.
Very nice, sandwiches are great. The chicken kabobs suck though, very dry
Great for a quick bite of meditrainan food
Very well flavored chicken schwarma. The wraps and rice were delicious. Remember to ask for more garlic sauce and get a mango lassi!
Great place! Good food! Fair prices and portions! Would recommend if you're a fan of Mediterranean food.
Love the food and the people are nice and friendly. (They really work hard) We go here frequently. This time the ac wasn't working very well, but they had a fan going. We'll be back, of course.
Shwarma here is fantastic. My go to is the sandwich with hot sauce and appetizer of hummus ( I can never finish it in one sitting)
Delicious food and big portions. Very friendly. Will definitely be eating from here a lot.
Food was good and the staff was great. Unfortunately my wife and I both got sick after eating here. Not sure what the issue was, may be back though to give it another try.
I can confidently say i'm a regular of Safier's. The chicken shawarma and kufta kabab are among some of my favorite things to eat in the city. The tabouleh however can be hit or miss. The lines are long at lunch time but there's a good reason for that. With food this good, I will continue to be a Safier's regular.
Hey ... it's a deli so the ambiance is deli-ish. The food is over the top amazing, the service is equal to the food. A fun, friendly place to eat in the eclectic downtown area of Louisville. Plenty of parking nearby. And, when it's warm and sunny, you can even sit outside enjoying Safier's amazing food, along with the sunshine. A must to visit. Highly recommend the beef schwarma, the hummus, the mujadara and the tabouleh1
easily the best deli in Louisville. their hummus is some of the best i've ever had; they could teach ramsi's a thing or two! i definitely recommend the baklava if you've got a sweet tooth! it's to die for.
Absolutely fantastic, I'm Arabic and I know how a shawerma and falafel sandwich should be done. Great job to all the team. Filling portions, clean, super tasty.
Best Mediterranean Food in Louisville in my humble opinion! Also they give "FREE" food to some of the homeless people. That is a very selfless and humble act 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 …
Safier is incredible. There isn't a line out the door for lunch and dinner without a good reason.
I always get the chicken shawarma wrap 🤙🏼 it's DELICIOUS.
My favorite Mediterranean restaurant by far. They can get very busy so bring your patience if you come at a busy time, but the food is worth it. My family always feels welcome there!
Best mediterrean food!...handmade hummous..great grape lwaves...kabob...and salads...must stop here when in Louisville...great authentic fresh food...
Why did no one tell me about this place? I work downtown and usually bring my lunch. But I needed to go out today and wanted to try something new. I was not disappointed - delicious. I just finished wiping my mouth and I'm already looking for an excuse to go back.
The CS’s was amazing 🤩 it’s been a long time haven’t tried it and it was delicious 😋🥰🥰 …
Addicted, This food is Delicious, Fresh & Fast, prices are reasonable. Been eating here for 2 years and never had a bad experience.
Everything I've tried from Safir has been amazing. Best Mediterranean in Louisville by far. Sometimes I crave the food several times a week.
Good food, fast and good value. The only reason for 4 not 5 stars is at lunch they don't serve Turkish Coffee. I would think is a staple. They said they only serve it at night.
So fresh! Ordered vegetarian platter--they allow you to select the 4 items you prefer. This is my first time ordering from here, but I will certainly be back!
This is with not doubt the best Mediterranean food in Louisville. It's always fresh and delicious. The staff is also warm and kind.
So yummy and a great price
Definitely 5 star dining in a tiny place on 4th but you'll be missing out if you don't try this place! My favorite in Louisville!
Excellent food. My first time trying falafel and shawarma and I loved it. Highly recommended, it was inexpensive, fast, well made and delicious.
Great food. If you are planning on eating here durning lunch time through the week, call ahead or prepare to wait because they are super busy.
Humus was good but the pita was stale (more like a tortilla)...
Doordash messed up on my order and they replaces the items! The food is so good and the woman on the phone was very nice to me! Thank you so much
Delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Extremely delicious hummus and falafel. My favorite to get is the chicken shawarma sandwich!
Good place to eat very fast service and food is always fresh and taste good and healthy and workers are so friendly i would recommend this restaurant . Love it!
Great food for the deal. Real close to medditeranian food. Tasty and great choices. You can tell that they really care about their cooking. Also great for catering too!
One of the busiest Mediterranean food place in 4th street. You have to be on line during lunch hour. Food is really good but the space is little tight. Parking is little tough.
They have the friendliest staff and their food is delicious. No matter where you come from, I recommend this restaurant..u won't regret going there.. this is the restaurant u have been looking for.
Excellent food, great service, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. The chicken shawarma, kafta, mujadara, falafel, hummus, pita, and tabbouleh were all delicious.
The owner and staff are so cool. Thanks to Younes as a owner and manager is one of the greatest.
He care deeply about his customer beyond his business.
Sincerely,
Arshaw

Best Mediterranean food I've had in a while!! And the prices are great for the quality of food! I highly recommend this place.
Great food at a great price
Good food at a great price. My go to is the falafel sandwhich wrap, but during lunch they also usually have saag Paneer as a special. Great place for vegetarians!
The number 1 cheapest, real, great nutritional food in Louisville. I recommend the the Beef Shawarma sandwich with fries. (7.50)
Very good Mediterranean cuisine. The daily special is always a good pick. Try the Dr. Piracha for a great wrap. Outdoor seating available.
Love the food is delicious The atmosphere is soothing and the service is pleasant location is right in the middle of downtown
Awesome menu, great prices. Food is prepared to order so it can take a few minutes, but it's always worth it.
Great food yall. I will be back to order everytime I'm in the area.
Great food, friendly service. Not a fancy place. But worth a visit!
Amazing food, excellent service. Got my food under 5 minutes. I'd give this restaurant 10 stars if I could.
Easy to get addicted to this place. Everything is delicious and the prices are great. Super nice staff too!
My favorite lunch destination for years. I've never had a bad experience here and everything on the menu is delicious!!
The Friday special lamb biryani was delicious. You can’t beat the $5.50 sandwiches, either.
Excellent Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean food. Baba Gannouj is amazing, along with everything else I have eaten here. Highly recommen for the Louisville area
We had paneer biryani at Safier, and it is amazing!!! Highly recommend the same, in addition to its falafel wrap!!!
Amazing food!! The young lady at the register is soooo knowledgeable and sweet and just makes the experience that much better.
Good food, order ahead. I enjoyed the chicken schwarma combo
Great lunch spot.
Absolute yummy food and lovely people working in. The platter might seem a little expensive but will feed 2 easily. Parking is always easy to find.
They offer most delicious Mediterranean food at affordable rate. Loved it. Will come Safier next time I am in town.
Always delicious. Always kind people. One of those hole in the wall places I like to take people when I want to make them happy by way of their stomach!
Food, service, and price are so good. Love the Mujadara, hummus, and falafel so much.
Delicious food and great service. The veggie platter lets you try 4 dishes at once if you can't decide what to try
What a treat! Always heard this place was good and finally confirmed it!
Great food quality, recommend the chicken shawarma. When you order they’ll send you a text when your order is ready.

Fast, cheap and amazing. Best falafel I've had in years.

Great place to eat at. Menu if full of tasty food and meals. I like the Shawarma best.
The shawarma is delicious! I’d comment further but it’s so good I’ve yet to try anything else on the menu!
Great service and food!
This is the definition of food with Integrity, my brother and I eat there very often on the last visit which was about a week ago a huge fan of the tahini sauce
Best middle eastern in Louisville area. I lived for 10 years in middle east and Egypt, this is the closest to the real thing. Staff is really friendly.
My son-in-law loves this place so he suggested it for Father’s Day. We all loved our food!
Great food. Portions are enough for 2 meals.
I'm not gonna lie when I seen this spot I said I was going to try it the next day. The next day I went the food was freaking amazing!!!! Would eat here every day if I could!!
The food is delicious and the prices are great. This is my favorite lunch spot. The shawarma is, imo, the best thing on the menu.
The Chicken Shawarma is delicious!
My go to lunch spot in downtown Louisville. Friendly staff, fast service and great food!
This place has the best food, and its reasonably priced. not to mention our food was out in minutes hot and fresh.
Schwarmma is great! Big size and loaded. We like to add feta to ours. Very busy location though.
Their kabobs are good. Sweets aren't great. Chicken biriyani isnt close to biriyani but their lamb biriyani is awesome.
One of my favorite places. Service is fast and food is delicious. Chicken tikka masala day is the best day to go.
Wonderfully made and we'll proportioned. Everything I wanted out of a Meduterranean Deli! Ps falafel sandwich was amazing
The best in Mediterranean food here in Louisville Ky. Large portions with fast service.
Great food fair price. Service was fast and friendly. I'll be back.
Love this place always tastes great and they give you a lot of food for the money
Great food. Nice place to meet with a friend or two. Small nice outside dinning also.
Both the shwarma and the hummous are really good. The restaurant itself is a bit small, but get it to go and you'll be a happy eater!
Very nice food and the staff who was working there was so helpful
Very good food and very nice employees
I've been eating here for over 10 years. The food is quite good and it's reasonably priced for downtown.
Excellent sandwich and fries.
The most delicious Mediterranean food in Louisville! Very accessible and comfortable for people not familiar with the cuisine!
Authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a casual environment. The Chicken Shawarma is probably the best in Louisville.
Delicious, affordable, and always quick. The kafta wrap is always on point.
Absolutely a great place to go for delicious food. Try one of everything and don't forget the baklava!
The staff here is so very helpful and friendly!! An absolute pleasure and amazing experience. My only complaint is there isn't one closer to my house!
Delicious food, made by great folks. They always take care of you.
Amazing food, you can't go wrong with anything you choose to eat here!

THE BEST HUMMOS I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Love the Mujaddara--Everything I have ever had there was spectacular--at great prices! Most highly recommend
Safier is the best spot for a lunch break and a favorite for 4th Steet visitors. Served with a warm greeting and smile.
Hidden jewel...food is consistently good and they always greet us with a smile. The schwarma sandwiches and hummus are spot on.
