First timers here - surprised by half price bottles of wine on Wednesday and as $34/person chefs choice dinner. We had to oblige!! Whipped feta, eggplant hummus, and heirloom tomatoes to start - absolutely incredible! For our mains the chef sent out salmon & the 4 cheese pizza. Pizza was perfectly hot and toasty! Everything was great and we can’t wait to come back!

The food is fabulous. Great outdoor area and good for parties 10-14 too. Pre Fix menu was amazing. Very good cocktails. Pizzas are great, but this is not a pizza joint, a great menu with unbelievable charcuterie.

Appetizers were the best of the entire meal! We had the chef table experience and it didn’t disappoint! We are definitely coming back! This is a very unique menu! And the place is so cute inside!

This is like if you took a fine dining restaurant and a pizza place and combined them— it’s pretty epic.
We are new to Louisville and were just driving by and spotted the restaurant so we decided to stop in for a bite. The food was surprisingly amazing!
We split a salad, appetizer, and a pizza. First, the green salad was so perfect and I can’t recommend it enough as a good balance to the carbs and protein on the pizza.
We opted for the baked egg appetizer… YOU HAVE TO ORDER THIS. Honestly we didn’t even really know what we were getting. It sounded interesting, we didn’t ask questions, and just ordered even tho we were warned it takes 20 mins to prepare. It’s basically like a savory custard (reminded me of a Japanese chawaremushi), that comes with a bit of bread for dipping. Like mind blowing good.
And then came our square pizza… which was so good plus there was plenty left to take home for lunch. I don’t think you can go wrong with any pizza on the menu, I could overhear the table behind ours raving over the two pizzas they ordered too.

Incredible flavors and smells.. had lavender Manhattan as cocktail and it was oh so hip! Smoked lavender!!
They had an incredible ricotta as appetizer served with some fresh baked thin bread… yummm… entree took a long time to come but it was worth the wait. We had the white pizza, just cheese with garlic cream called the Formaggio (italian for cheese)
This one don’t have the red pizza sauce but I was a bit cheesy and got some on side that honestly I didn’t need as the pizza was incredible. Next we had the cauliflower dish, amazing flavors once again with ricotta spread, olive oil, black olive tapenade and fresh mint leaves… so full of flavor and oh so rustic italian.
Missed having the dessert and would definitely go back for some.
Hip decor like you would find in fancy cities like New York but more of a hipster cool Brooklyn vibe.
It’s great for vegetarians who can have cheese, vegans have a few options as well.
My kinda place!

When you walk in to Square Cut it has all the right vibes. Very cozy interior and warm feeling. We started with some delicious cocktails the Italian margarita and an old fashioned and an order of the pumpkin and sunchoke dip. The dip was very light and fluffy but was lacking any real flavor, the best part was the bread it was served with and the pépites on top. Our next course was the clam pizza which was as delicious and an order of duck prosciutto. Overall the experience was good, just make sure you have a reservation for a Friday or Saturday night

Fantastic Nduja pizza! I also ordered a cocktail, the Chili Lime Drop (Castle & Key vodka, gran gala liqueur, honey lime syrup and Italian cambrian pepper) in the ice cube! The longer it melts the spicier the drink becomes! The French press coffee had a deep rich flavor. Definately a return visit in the future. Come and visit Shelby Park and see what we've got! Mmmm Creative

Square cut pizza DELIVERS!
And by delivers, I am talking about quality service, gastronomy (still drooling) and atmosphere! To be honest, I am unsure if they actually deliver to one's home tehe.
I want to begin by stating that our server extraordinaire, KP, was the bees. Her recommendations were highly appreciated. Waters remained refilled. And I really appreciated her. I am pretty sure it was solely her and MAYBE one other server for the ENTIRE restaurant last night. And you would have NEVER known. The entire restaurant, from bartender to kitchen staff remained calm and I truly believe its why they ran such a tight shift. We sat in the kitchen (highly recommend) and it was refreshing to watch the staff work as teammates. Brava!
Now, onto ze food...! I am LIVING for the Heirloom Carrots, Gem Lettuce Salad, Clam Pizza, Formaggio Pizza and the dessert (I forget its name) that we consumed in our party last eve!
The atmosphere went hand in hand with the food and service. Normally, all white walls feel overwhelming to me but not here. The personality and intentionality of the owners/staff was felt and it made the room feel comfortable. Cozy. And for me, an open kitchen where there is seating just feels as if the restaurant is saying, " welcome to our family ".
We have friends in town and plan to bring them in tonight. Barely 24 hours after our first visit. That's how dang swell Square Cut Pizza is!

First, the pizza is delicious. You can tell they use good ingredients. Now, on to the “needs improvement” category: music is way too loud, wine has a ridiculous markup, and the Negroni needs more campari. And, they have a bottle on offer that is labeled on the menu as “Chianti” but is not a Chianti. It is a Tuscan red table wine. Our waitress was basic—service and nice—but not the friendliness you expect in Germantown. Will go back, but we’ll get drinks somewhere else before and only go on half price wine night—and check the label when the bottle comes.
