Never a bad visit here. I've eaten at many pizza spots here in Louisville but this is my go to spot. Sometimes I would find a reason to drive from Knox to eat here.

Been eating here for years, it still amazes me people don’t know about this place. Normally I go for lunch slices, today I ordered 5 pizzas for my daughter’s birthday party. It was a big hit and fed 20 adults/kids with plenty of leftovers. Great service and food no matter if you’re getting a quick slice or need to feed a big group. Always consistent and the best NY slice in town. The specialty pies are my favorite. The truck plant, bbq chicken, veggie, etc. The classic pepperoni is good too. Love the tiny pepperonis that curl up when you bake them. Keep up the good work y’all.

I've been wanting some good New York style pizza since coming back from a visit in October. Found this place on Google. They have great pizza, and they sell it by the slice. Nice size slice, the dough has a good crunch without being too crisp and it was reasonably priced. This will be my go to from now on when I am craving some NY pizza.

Ordered the 18 inch cheese pizza and garlic knots. Both was absolutely phenomenal. Flavor was spot on, food was hot, staff was very friendly and accommodated when I asked for side items and napkins. Definitely recommend to try both. Not from the area but will be back my next trip through.

First time here, got a veggie and a Brooklyn, both excellent. The pizza, the atmosphere, everything about this place is wonderful. Makes me think of Week-end Burger down on Nat'l Turnpike. Will be returning every time I'm out on this side of town.

The crust is crunchy and chewy, the toppings are the right amount. The slices are nice and stiff and fold up perfectly. The staff is super friendly and it feels like a family kitchen with the conversation and banter between staff. I had the BBQ chicken pizza and the Pepperoni and sausage slices. The two slices and a drink we're exactly 7 bucks. I will definitely be back.

It's a great locally owned, managed and operated. Always BUY LOCAL when possible. I just want to compliment staff and manager working! They are super great at customer service, great pizza, and garlic bread knots. I bought about 6 teenage girls - my daughter and her friends. We took food home to my son and his friends. Flexible combos and flexible toppings for a whole pizza. Great pricing. The garlic bread knots are a must. Fountain Coke products (a must for me) are cold and fresh, fresh brewed tea and favorited lemonades. If it has been a few months since you have dropped by, you need to drop by again soon!! Thanks again for the excellent service and pizza!!

Id give this place 10 stars if Google allowed. Pizza is fantastic! Staff is outstanding! Just a superb place overall! We dine in at least once a month. And we've also ordered 13 pizzas for a bday party. Pizzas were ready on time, hot, and ready to go.

I'm a die-hard deep dish guy. So, when my wife wanted to try Old School NY, I was skeptical. But, Old School won me over. The slices are generous, and their specialty pies are very tasty. I like to throw the pizza in the oven for 5 minutes or so when I get home to crisp it up, get the cheese melty, and to get the underside and toppings hot. My only major complaint I have is their website. It's very basic and difficult to navigate. Overall though, Old School NY Pizza is our go-to on pizza night!

This is the best pizza spot in Louisville. My personal favorite is their Hawaiian slices. I am not a fan of Hawaiian pizza usually, but i gotta say their Hawaiian pizza is the best pizza I've ever had in my life. I have taken a lot of family and coworkers from out of town here and when they return, they always request the Hawaiian pizza from here. I would love if they added a location closer to Okolona so i could enjoy it more at home.

We had our team banquet at Old School and it turned out great! First of all, the owner & staff could not have been more accommodating, in every way. The pizza is always phenomenal and the space worked out great as well. Everyone that I spoke with at the dinner was very pleased with the restaurant. Their pizza is amazing! If you want to get in and out for lunch, they have it pre-made and ready for you in 5 minutes. If you want more of a sit-down dining experience, their Norton Commons location is great! It also doesn't hurt that the bartender makes the most amazing Kentucky old fashioned!

Great pizza, nice folks, not much atmosphere. Very basic place, really setup for carryout, but they do have tables and chairs. I am not a big fan of thin crust pizza but this is probably the best thin crust I have ever eaten. Perfectly baked, nice crunch without being burned. Sauce was okay, slightly bland but inoffensive. Good quality toppings. They also have a great lunch special, two slices and a drink, or one slice, a salad and a drink, good deal!

I had 2 slices a pepperoni, they were out when I arrived so I waited 10 min to get fresh slices out of the oven. Im from philly this pizza is the closest thing ive had to real northern east coast pizza since ive lived in the ville. Red sauce is tomato fresh pop kick to it, crust has a crunch, cheese is stringy and good. If u dont like a flop in ur pizza slices tell them u want ur slices or pie well done. I personally will be asking for well done when i go back.

Great pizza and great service. Alot of flavor variety to choose from. A little expensive but almost worth the cost. The salads are awesome. I would highly recommend this establishment if you want a great slice and a salad... if you have some extea money because it is a little bit costly but a worth while experience. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because of the price.🍕🥗

I had the margarita pizza and it was fantastic. I only wish they had a hot, fresh slice available. My second slice was pepperoni and was just as good. My friend got the buffalo chicken pizza and a slice of pepperoni and was just as happy with his, asI I was. The pizza crust is thin and has a nice crispiness that is perfection. Two slices and a drink for $7.00 is a heck of a deal!

I don't normally post reviews on food but this place deserves it. If I am able to give them billions of stars, I would. I live 20 minutes away and it is worth the drive. I just moved to Louisville from Arizona. I was in search for a good pizza joint and I found it at the first try. 1. the pizza, salad and garlic knots are so so so so good! 2. they call you to let you know when the pizza would be ready which is not a norm which I appreciate very much! 3. I am Deaf and the workers there are so friendly and treated me very well 4. They handle Covid seriously which shows how they care about their customers.

This place is awesome. I loved their pizza. If you like new york style pizza you will like this. Their pepperoni is the best I have had in Louisville. They also have great customer service. I pre ordered online and drove about an hour on a Friday for pick up, and when I got there they were so busy and the online ordering was having issues so my wait time was still an hour and a half. Luckily they were kind enough to expedite my order because I had my 6 month old with me that was due to eat in the next hour. Thanks Old School N.Y. Pizza!

Just passing through KY and I wanted pizza, I decided to try this place. Ordered a large custom pizza and as a former Chicagoan who traveled 42 of the 50 states I have to say this is one great pizza pie! I've had more horrible pizzas than good ones because too many people believe they have some talent and/or skill. They don't! But these people do know what they are doing! If I come back again I would absolutely choose this place. The flavor isn't overwhelming, it isn't bland, the ingredients are fresh. A delicious pizza as a whole

Great pizza! Really nice thin crust with the right amount of chew and crispness. Their garlic knots were also incredible and were devoured not even 5 minutes after we got them. Plenty of topping options for everyone! The atmosphere was very casual and laid back; exactly what I’d expect from a NY Pizza place.

I love cheese pizza and Old School NY pizza definitely satisfies my craving for good cheese pizza. The garlic knots will not disappoint either. They are by far the best in town! However what’s even better then the food is the awesome customer service. Such a great family friendly place. They talk to my kids and make them feel so welcome and special. We love this place for great pizza!! It's hard to find good NY style pizza in KY but we discovered this diamond in the rough. I don't normally review food but I gotta say. This is the best I've ever had. Most pizza gives me heartburn, but I've had this pizza on 4 separate occasions and not once have I had heartburn. You want heartburn? Stick with other pizza places.. this place has great pizza at good prices, friendly staff and clean environment. So far, the porko is my favorite.

It was okay. Given all the rave reviews, I was a little disappointed. Maybe we just had it on a bad night. The flavor was kind of one note. I have had pizza in New York and this didn't really compare to that experience. The sauce was a bit overpowering and didn't permit the other flavors to have much play. The crust was good. Mushrooms were so tiny that you couldn't tell they were on there except by sight. We had to drive about 20 min each way to get it, and decided we probably won't do that again. Admittedly we did have to reheat when we got home, but we did it in the oven.

The only NY Style pizza that is actually like NY Pizza in the city. Huge slices that are made to be folded and eaten correctly! Some cool local special toppings, but of course they have all the classics as well. Garlic knots are great and you should get a cannoli with your meal too.

Definitely one of my favorite pizza places in Louisville. The seating and dining are simple, but the food is dynamite. Excellent New York style pies with thin crust, wide slices and big taste. Start with the garlic knots and throw in some Greek salad for the win. Calzones hit it out of the park, too. All around great pizza!

Really good pizza, especially for the price. I was surprised by how good it was, since it's just a little hole in the wall place. I didn't expect an authentic NY pizza place in a tucked away corner of Pewee Valley - but I'm so glad I found it! Voted the best pizza in KY by Yelp reviewers - and they just might be right! The employees also seemed like they knew everyone, and were definitely New Yorkers - which adds to the authenticity. I had a really good experience - it felt immediately like we were family and friends with everyone in the place, and they didn't mind at all that we stayed at our table until closing, just talking and hanging out. Busy, but not crowded.

After trying most of the other pizza places in town and being unable to get anything close to real New York style pizza, it was nice to find Old School NY Pizza. Real deal NY style thin crust pizza. The buttery crust is firm, as it should be, with a crispy outside and great chewy inside texture. “The Brooklyn” may be my favorite slice in town with savory sausage, pepperoni, black olives and whole cloves—yes, whole cloves—of garlic. Outstanding.

I read on the internet that this was the best pizza in Kentucky so i planned to book my hotel for the night while passing thru nearby. I was wise to do so. This is the most authentic NY style pizza anywhere in the Midwest. The crust is just right - there is a certain pliability to it that is hard to find outside NY. Prices are reasonable as well.

Pizza is good! They use a whole milk cheese. Service is fast and friendly! Clean atmosphere. Has a older style design which is always nice in a world full of technology. I would've given 5 stars but they don't sell 2 ltrs of soda.. Thats why I had to vote 4. Lol. But anyway good Job and keep up the great work.

One bite everyone knows the rules. We moved to Louisville from Pittsburgh 2 and a half years ago. There is a lot of really good pizza in Pittsburgh. I use to own a pizza spot back home. I have always loved this place! Today, the management just blew me away, though. They had a busy night and had limited choices of pizza available. The manager (or owner?) said he was making more pizza, and asked me what kind I liked. He made some special for me, and gave me a free cookie because I'm 9 months pregnant! Lol it totally made my night and I'm so pleased with my experience tonight. Not many places have staff and management that will go that out of their way to make your experience a great one. I've never been disappointed here!

I've heard from multiple people from New York that this place is just as good-if not better than pizza in new york. I went to try it the other night and I can honestly say it is the best pizza I have had. Great ratio of cheese and sauce, with perfectly cooked dough. I love the little pepperonis too

First time visiting...very casual and informal maybe to a fault. I think it could better if the place warmed up it's Decor. Seemed a little cold and sterile in the dining area - that contrasted with the kitchen side. I like how open it was between the two...you can see who prepares your food and how they do everything. BUT, that being said...this place really rocks pizza and subs. The food was fantastic!!! The staff is very engaging. Prices weren't bad, either. We're from out of town but will be back.

Having tried to find decent pizza in the metro for a while I wasn't sure what to expect - but we were pleasantly surprised! We ended up ordering a PBR (Potato, Bacon & Ranch) and a Porko (pepperoni, sausage, meatball and were overall really satisfied. The PBR was REALLY good, and we would 100% order one again. If you live nearby or are in the area I think they are definitely worth a try. We live a bit of a distance away, I wouldn't say their pizza is so amazing its worth crossing the metro for - but its worth your time if the location is convenient to you and we'd order again if we're in the area.

Definitely NY style pizza flavor. The slices could be bigger, as they are not exactly oversized slices that need to be folded as you would expect from a typical NY pizzeria. All in all though... the price is reasonable, the pizza is good, and the owner and staff are always friendly and in a good mood!

Not your typical pizza joint. Located in a niche shopping center that can be a bit to navigate during high traffic times. The decor- well - nothing fancy but don't let that run you off. This place caters to the slice and a drink crowd for lunch. Pies are already made you pick the slice you want and they reheat it. Of course you can order whole pies as well. They also have great fresh salads. The pizza is excellent. They make their own crust and handtoss it. The sauce is made from scratch. And the slices are huge. Try the garlic knots for an extra tasty treat.

Great pizza. Good price. I had the Hawaiian pizza and barbecue pizza both were solid choices. The staff are friendly and the facility is very clean. The brick oven makes the whole place smell wonderful and the pizza is literally hot out of the oven when you get it so be sure to let it cool.

Very nice people and very clean. Tasty, but as a true NYCr and suffering from the way food is prepared here in KY, I cannot say that this pizza was even close to a real city pie. It was round, with some cheese on it and I did see a little sauce, flat thin bread crust that didnt seem to be proofed enough or hand tossed. I would compare their pies to upstate NY pizza, but definitely not southern tier or L.I. pizza.

Friendly and easy going staff! It smells like a NY pizza place and the pizza is fantastic! They split the toppings on the pie well and take care with the slicing to ensure the split. Greek salad is fresh too.

One of my local pizza faves. Staff is friendly as soon as you walk through the door. You can see everything happening behind counter. They whip up a thin crust pie typical of New York. You can order by the slice or full pie. They have a variety of ready made slices available. Whatever pizza you choose DO NOT leave without ordering the garlic knots!!! Small, poppable bites of soft, buttery dough. They are heavenly and make me wish for a faster metabolism. You can dine in or carryout, family friendly atmosphere.

As a former New Yorker, I've eaten a lot of good pizza. This restaurant has some very good crust. The $6 special which includes 2 ample slices of any type of pizza plus a drink of choice makes a good lunch or is even enough to share with a friend. This place is clean,friendly and fast.

A very low key pizza parlour with good food. I honestly believe the word for this place has spread by those who have tried their food because I have never seen any advertisement for them and the restaurant itself is quite non descriptive. You can order by the slice that have already been made. The slices are heated in their oven before they are served. The jalapenos cheese and bacon, cheeseburger are tasty. The bbq chicken is not so much. Depending on who takes your order, if you order couple of slices you can get a free drink again it depends on who is taking the order. I have tried their calzone, they do not recommend more then 4 toppings. I requested with moderate amount of feta cheese and it was made well. The marinara sauce seemed to be made in house and not from the can. I would recommend this place before you try any of the national chain or a favourite pizza parlour you might have. I do not think you will be disappointed.

As a New Yorker I have bumped into many pizza places that claim they make New York Pizza. Sad to say all failed except two. This is one of those two. Staff was great and friendly and the pizza was flavorful with a good balance of ingredients. This will become a weekly stop for me. Brooklyn Pizza in Lexington is also fantastic. Transplants to the area will want to check out both places.

I am from upstate NY and brought up in a very Italian area .This was the best pizza (Hot Pie in my town), in Kentucky. One comment said not enough cheese. You do not use a lot of cheese and ruin a great browned crust. they just opened at Norton Commons Sept . 4th. Had to stop for a pizza. Lot of outside seating. As usual excellent. Just had it on Feb 25th at one pm. Crust was not crispy as usual. It may not had the oven hot enough.Tried it again on4/7/2021 and it was excellent at Nordon Commons

I love it. Moved to Louisville from NYS and it's great to have a taste from home. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. There are two major differences between their pizza and most local pizza. They bake at a higher temp in a stone oven, giving a crispier crust like Italian bread and well melted gooey cheese. The other is a thinner crust, thicker than a pita, thinner than sandwich bread, great for folding. 😁 (A lot of pizzas around KY are like bread sticks with cheese.) They have delicious calzones as well.

Fun old school feel when you walk in. They greet you immediately and direct you to the counter for a slice or two. They also offer salads, sandwiches and garlic knots😁. Today we had the number 1 combo of two slices and a drink. They slide the slices back into the beautiful brick oven to reheat and crisp up a little. The crust here is exceptionally good, but on this most recent visit I was a bit turned off by the service. We were getting 2, pre-set combos and the counter girl got them wrong. Also, when I asked for some ricotta on my slices ( which I have had numerous times previously) she tried to talk me out of it. I persisted, yet when my order was ready for pick up there was none and I had to specifically ask again. This time the manager seemed put out at my request and grudgingly added it. So in the end, I didn't get the type of pizza chosen and I had to argue for my original request.

Ordered 2 10" pizzas. Took 5 minutes shy of an hour to get them, lthough they tasted great. The restaurant is in the middle of remodeling to add beer to the menu. The fountain machine has been placed in the back so for almost $2 you can have 1 can of soda. Locals said the place is usually faster and seemed they were training in new staff. The usual dough guy was on the oven and burned a few pizzas and had a hard time keeping track of orders and pizzas. Overall not a good first impression but I'm sure it will get better when they are done remodeling
