Home style food with large portions. BBQ chicken and Turkey was good although no smoky flavor. Might be cooked on a gas fueled BBQ grill. I have had the brisket in the past and it is closer to real BBQ. Potato salad was excellent with lots of eggs and good balance of flavor. Green beans were made with pork and flavorful. Very good sweet tea. Try the buttermilk pie for dessert. Service was adequate although not stellar.

So happy to have found this place when I was visiting. The server was amazing, super helpful and funny. The food portions are quite generous. I ordered the Dinner special 1. Ribs and wings were delicious, but the FRIED PICKLES AND THE CHIPS stole the whole show for me. Absolutely loved it.

My Husband and our boys are here on vacation from Missouri. We tried this place out bc it was listed for Louisville Burger week and we like trying new places. This place did not disappoint! The food was fabulous but above that we had the best service we have had in a very long time. Our waiter went above and beyond with kindness and we could not have appreciated that more. Would definitely recommend.

Brisket was cooked just right, tender and not dry. I would've liked mine just a little bit more flavorful but their excellent sauces took care of that. Service was decent and fun ambience. Their Mac-n-Cheese was also delicious. Would definitely go back.

We went this place, only because people gave good ratings. However I am disappointed with their food. I ordered $20 plater and got 4 pcs chicken wings, around 2 oz. of brisket, and 4 pcs of pork ribs with potato salad and coleslaw. None of meats smells smoked and both potato salad and coleslaw were not seasoned at all. Burgoo was terrible to eat. Salmon burger was one of the worst thing to eat, according to my wife. I am not sure how they got good ratings.

Mark's Feed Store is an awesome BBQ place for most BBQ desires. We started with the fried pickles and those were great. I'm not a pickle guy at all but ended up eating half the bowl since they tasted great. For lunch, I had their Combo #1 that had a nice variety to sample at a great price. The pork and brisket tasted ok and were a bit dry. Had to drown that in their sauce. The ribs had a really nice flavor, didn't fall off the bone as claimed but were cooked nicely. The Honeywings were the standout surprise! WOW! I could totally eat a whole bucket of these things. I'll for sure order these again when I come back. Also, the chips were addictive too. Our server was awesome as well. Super nice and the recommendations he made were all great. Great BBQ place overall! Definitely would come back again.

9-24-22 about 4:40pm: Couple Texans visting in Kentucky for work and had this place recommended to us Sweet cornbread appetizer was pretty good. I tried the #1 combo but replaced pork with chicken. Ribs were pretty good. Chicken and brisket was on drier side. Mac n cheese was pretty good. Baked beans and potatoe salad were ok. Oreo banana pudding was good. Honey "Buffalo" wings were pretty good. Nothing really blew me away. Customer service was friendly and great. It's ok if in the area. Good price points for the food you get.

Very friendly and fast service, and great food! We started with some of the onion straws... those alone were absolutely worth the trip. I got the chicken sandwich with maple bacon aioli, and my wife got the salmon burger. Both were excellent and we would totally get them again. We may have to stop in again next time we are in town!

there's not a lot you can say except that this food is excellent I really enjoy the fact that I can go in and get some ribs and have a sweet potato along the side and the ambiance's place is magnificent I was here in the middle of the afternoon when it was slow but I imagine if you come here when it's really busy and you sit outside it would be a great atmosphere for a group of people to come and eat

Im from Chicago and we had just left Nashville and wanted some delivious food before returning home so we stopped here off the highway. We first ordered the onion strings. They weren't fried hard enough but still had good flavor. I got a number 1 combo. Brisket and pork was amazing in comparision to my ribs but i found it strange that neither the brisket or the pork had any bbq on it or cooked into it for flavor? I had 3 really fatty ribs, was able to eat one-had good flavor. 🥺 i wasn't a fan of the honey sauce on the wings so I didn't even eat them at all. Strange flavor. My cornbread was dry. Warm them bad boys up and put some butta on top! Loved the corn and the rib rub in the salt shaker on table. Hannah was a gem as well.

How was Mark‘s Feed Store? How can you ask me how was Mark‘s Feed Store? Just the best barbecue in the entire world! The beans are fabulous! The sauce is fabulous! Everything at Mark’s is absolutely perfect! Then, to top it off, today was free dessert Monday. We didn’t even know that!

Fast and friendly service. Mark's is hard to beat, no matter which location you choose. I love that they offer you both mustard based sauce as well as traditional, or spicy, so you can enjoy it all! The barbeque here is great and their Oreo banana pudding is amazing!

A great place to eat. The food is good. The staff is prompt and clever, and always anticipatory of drinks, utensils and sauce explanations. I have only gone to the Bardstown Rd. Location, and I believe it is worth a stop.

The last time I was at Mark's I was very disappointed. And this time I was VERY impressed. We were greeted and seated very quickly in a very friendly and welcoming way. It's nice when you come into a place and you the person greeting you appears to really be happy you're there. The BBQ sandwich with spicy fries was great (I opted for their original BBQ sauce) - it comes with pickles that I ate before taking my picture. I was weak. The "Bird In A Nest" (honey wings on an onion straw nest) was similarly wonderful. Loved the onion straws, and the honey wings were sweet with a bit of a bite. Service was consistently good. The server was very personable, efficient, and effective. He was very attentive without hovering. We really like the decor, large front windows. There is an upstairs and outside seating, making Mark's a great option for lots of groups on lots of occasions. We walked, but there is street parking available. If it's been a while since you've been to Mark's, it's time to go back.

Dropped in to this place based on online reviews. Manager greeted me when I sat down.. nice touch. Had the honey wings which were coated in a honey sauce right out of the fryer. Pretty good for munchies. Dinner was ribs and chicken, also pretty tasty. Piece of buttermilk pie for dessert was a good ending to the meal. Definitely worth a visit.

Onion straws were light, not greasy, delicious sauce Potato salad is creamy, very subtle tastes that are just enough but not too little with some well done hard-boiled eggs Toast was crispy and buttery Wings very light, crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. Honey forward with a hint of spice kinda makes me think of a honey hot timale Ribs served with a few slices of red onion, great for opening the sinuses and cleaning your paper before moving onto the other food Ribs without sauce, cooked well but seasoned a tad too lightly to be eaten by itself Ribs with original sauce instantly brings out all the flavors of the meat with a nice mustard finish Ribs with red sauce is very nice as well. Kind of if you want a sweet BBQ with a hint of heat that appears in the after taste Ribs with hot BBQ was where it was at. I had to try it a few times to get the flavor profile because I kept gulping it down too fast. It brought out EVERY flavor hidden in the meat and it is glorious. Pickles with the pulled pork were great, nice and crunchy without too much dill or too much sweetness, taste homemade, and I want to know where to buy them if they're not Pulled pork showed me that this is about the sauce, more than the meat. The meat is juicy and tender, but almost bland.. until you hit it with one of their sauces and BAM out comes the flavor Brisket on the other hand came right at me with that delicious barnyard taste. No sauces needed... But man did they pair well too. The deep fried sweet corn was great. They have mastered the art of southern deep frying, it's delicious and not a drop of extra grease to be found

Fried pickles don’t travel well through the delivery service. My sister wanted these for her birthday. Sad they were so soggy. Also, received receipt for another patron. This has happened before. I’m sure mine is somewhere. I’m still needing to check what happened. Something else also missing.

We arrived on Valentine's Day at around 6:30. They were very busy but we were seated in minutes. The hostess, busboys and the waiter were very friendly and efficient. Our waiter, in spite of having numerous parties to attend to, checked on us every chance he could. He was friendly, very efficient and had a cheerful demeanor. I was very impressed with the restaurant staff. The food was cooked perfectly. We ordered the burgoo as an appetizer, something I recommend you try. The wings, pork and sides were excellent. I ordered the baked potato and green beans as my sides and they were tasty and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.

Mark’s has consistently for years outperformed other BBQ spots in Louisville. Beef brisket is always falling off tender. Pulled pork is never dry. Honey wings are out of this world delicious and could start an entire chain by themselves. My favorite sides are the fried corn and spicy fries, but have never gone wrong with any of them. Beans, Potato salad, Mac and cheese, green beans.. all staples. The sleeper no one knows about is the cornbread salad. My daughters never leave without finishing their fried apples.

OMG! This place is amazing. Everything we tried was wonderful. From the sides to the entrees. Green beans, cole slaw, fries, bbq chicken dinner and fried fish dinner. Even the white sauce for the pulled chicken was good. It was even good on the fish. The service on the patio was wonderful as well. Only thing we did not like were the flies and other flying bugs trying to enjoy the good food too. 😂

This place was great! Our server was super sweet. The food was really delicious. Monday is free dessert and let me tell you! I got the buttercream pie...I could have just ordered 2 and been happy. I will definitely add it to my list of favorite restaurants!

We ordered ribs and honey wing chicken. They were both amazing however the green bean side was very bland, baked beans were very sugary and spicy fries were not spicy at all (more so like fast-food fries). Unfortunately, our server’s attitude put a shade on everything. He couldn’t tell what beer they have even though he went and check multiple times. He rushed us in the middle by asking if we need a to go box (we were obviously still eating) and he brought the check without asking if we wanted any dessert or anything else (I wanted to try banana pudding but end up not having it because of the server). Overall amazing ribs and chicken but not sure if it’s worth the attitude.

Love, love, love their burgoo! Hearty, spicy & filling. Full of meat & lots of veg. Plenty of indoor seating on the main floor & upstairs. Busy on my visit but not one issue w service. Several steps to enter from the front & not sure about side enterance how accessible it is for those w impairments. Parking is limited on the side of the building off Bardstown Rd, street parking maybe limited as well depending on time of day.

I think I ordered the wrong thing here, or it simply wasn't my style. From all the reviews, I was expecting more. I ordered the chicken strips with the deep fried corn and the beans. The beans were actually very good. The corn was different and wasn't particularly tasty. The chicken strips were actually not very good at all. They were very dry and the flavor was a bit bland. I went with 2 other people, and they really enjoyed their meals, so I really do think this leads than exquisite-dining experience was on me. Service was excellent. Friendly, punctual, knowledgeable and just wonderfully pleasant. Parking is a bit of an adventure as the lot is small, bit people in the area seem friendly and it all sorts itself out. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I order differently? For sure. Until my next visit to the area.

To start with the positives, this restaurant had great, friendly service. Between our party, we ordered pretty much a bit of everything that was on the menu. Highlights included the wings, ribs, cornbread, and pretty much all the sides. However, the brisket and pulled pork were just indefensibly bland. Opinions on the three BBQ sauces ranged from adoration to hatred depending on personal taste. All in all, good but average.

Enjoyed the speciality #1 last night and had a fantastic experience. Food was filling and excellent. The BBQ sauces that we were offered as a first time visitor is excellent. The butter milk pie for desert was like pecan without the pecans. The atmosphere is very friendly and had a lot of fun meeting other patrons. Tasty BBQ in a intriguing older building. Service was efficient and food delivered fairly quickly. Jason the server was on top of things, even with several tables at lunch. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and fried corn-on-the-cob was a great side. Suggest the Burgoo appetizer for the table, as it, too, was delicious.

Popped in on a whim and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Had bbq pulled pork, Mac n cheese and potato salad. I liked both the sauces, the potato salad had eggs in it which was delicious, and the Mac n cheese was awesome. The pork was moist and had flavor even without sauce. If only we didn't live 7 hours away. Definitely will add this place to the country wide best BBQ map.

Great place in Louisville to get real Southern BBQ. This is a casual place with great atmosphere, happy service and unbelievable food. The fried pickles were made with homemade pickles, fried onions great starter, ribs were done perfectly and the Mac n Cheese was so rich. Could not be more impressed with the service and how quick the food was on the table. Mark's is a must when you visit Louisville.

A busy place for middle of the week. A 20 minutes wait for first available. We ordered the ribs dinner and corn bread. The ribs could use more smoking and cooking. The corn bread and sweet tea were good and the BBQ sauce kind of reminds us like Famous Dave.

This is a neat place!!! Our server was Jason and he was just fantastic. I had the pulled pork plate from their lite menu - it was delicious and MORE than enough as it come with a side and toast. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich with 2 sides and he couldn't finish it all.. Baked Beans were amazing and Mac & cheese was pretty good. We didn't care for their slaw. But the fried pickles are super and "must get" imo... Marks is superb!!

I'd had Mark's in the past and their pulled pork sandwiches had been good. We got the ribs the other day and unfortunately they were not very good - they were super tough to pull apart and chew, and the good barbeque sauce couldn't save the taste. I wouldn't recommend the ribs here

Mark's was the choice for our group lunch order at work. A co-worker called it in and spoke with Ron, literally the world's best person. As he took our orders, he suggested combos of the same food for better value or more food for the same amount. AMAZING! I picked up our food and Ron not only wrote our names on the containers, he walked the food out to my car with me. I parked on the street, y'all! Ron is a national treasure and he should be SHOWERED with bonuses & raises! Not to mention, I have a touch of social anxiety and this was literally the best carry-out experience of my entire life.

Loved this place. I was disappointed when they were out of brisket, but after our waiter recommended the turkey and I got it my disappointment went away quickly. Great atmosphere, staff, and food. Will for sure be back and I do highly recommend Mark's.

Delicious food and friendly service for a fair price! Got the lemon pepper fish sandwich—huge piece of fish! Could’ve been a fried a bit harder for me but the flavor was A1. How could you go wrong with the fried pickles. Ribs were very very tender. Our burgers were delicious. Our server was fantastic he was very very on it even with a party upstairs. Of course this is one of the best places in town you can get barbecue it has excellent barbecue sauce which they sell and most local stores now it has become more of a corporate fixture than it was a little mom-and-pop store but it still sticks to its roots pretty well the prices have went up but so is everything else in town. The staff is really really good and I seem to like everything that comes from this place especially the chicken sandwich. Even with the new covid norm they keep the happy and cheerful staff, with excellent food, try the cornbread it's awesome!

Good BBQ... my ribs weren't fall off the bone tender but the flavors were good. I liked the honeywings as well. Again, the brisket was good but not tender. The service was slow but I believe COVID19 has them looking for staff to start coming back soon.

This place is a must-eat location! The food is reasonably priced and packed with flavor. Perfect for eating alone or with a group. Marks Feed Store just feels like home. We really loved the baby back ribs, honey wings and brisket. Fried pickles are very popular here as well. They have a mustard based bbq sauce that I liked so much I had to get a bottle to take home. Staff was eager, helpful and made the experience fun. Try the Ranch Pie!

If you've never been to Mark's Feed Store on Bardstown Rd you need to drop whatever you're doing and go!! The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly and helpful. I love everything on the menu, but their potato salad and chicken salad are to die for and you haven't lived until you've had their Buttermilk Crunch dessert! It's buttermilk pie topped with ice cream and caramel and it's oh so good (you can thank me later, lol) An overall great family friendly BBQ restaurant that sits in the heart of the Deer Park neighborhood in the Highlands. This might sound like a rehearsed commercial but... What are you doing still sitting there, get up and GO! Tell 'em I sent ya!! (No, I was not paid for this recommendation, this place really is that darn good!!)

Great food and friendly, fast service. The sides were all phenomenal (a sign of a solid BBQ joint) and the ribs were succulent and flavorful. I liked but didn't love any of the sauces, but the ribs were so good they didn't need much else. For the price, this is great BBQ!

Excellent! We are from out of town and actually the waitress at another restaurant recommended it. I'm really glad she did. It was so good. Portions were generous and the price was great. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I had the 10 bone rib dinner and it was more like twelve. I was going to take a picture of it but forgot because I dove into it so fast. Good beer selection, also. I wish I was staying another night, as I would go back tomorrow.

Service was excellent! Our waiter, Jason, was friendly and checked in when needed. Food was delicious and servings were generous! Went for lunch during the $5 burger Week in the city. Was seated quickly by a polite hostess. Food was brought quickly and was hot and fresh. All the servers were friendly and helpful. Dining room was clean and not overcrowded. Staff was quick to bus any tables after diners left. Parking lot was easy to enter and exit even, during lunch time on a busy main road.

My experience was good. My son took me there for my bday. The food was delicious. We even brought my bday cake in & it wasn't a problem. The employees was good, friendly & helpful. The place was clean even the bathroom. It was one of the cleanest I've been in in awhile. If I had any problems I would have to say the chips was a little too crunchy for me & the corn not buttering enough for me.

I would usually give this a 5 star BUT yesterday the service was awful. The hostess was very rude. Our order was wrong. We had to rely on the other tables waitress because we rarely seen ours. The food was still good, thats why I'm giving 3 stars. My husband has to go to the Bardstown road location every time and we drive an hour and a half just to eat here because it's my husband's favorite. So disappointed in the service 😞

To put it simply, this place is awesome. I have eaten here several times over the past 3 or 4 years, and I have never had bad service. The waiters and waitresses tend to be very kind and easy to get along with, the food is great, and you don't have to wait for very long when you order. They have 3 sauce varieties, and you are able to purchase them and take them home, which in my opinion is worth looking into, as they are good. I also would recommend trying the fried sweet corn on the cob. I had never heard of that before, but tried it here, and I have to say, that it may sound weird, but it is very good.

The service here is phenomenal! They really make you feel welcomed and like a member of the family. Let them know if it is your first time eating there and they'll give you a treat. The only downside is the food is pretty meh. The green beans were definitely canned and I'm not a fan of their mac and cheese but the brisket and buttermilk pie were really good.

I love you Mark's. I absolutely love you with every fiber of my soul. I love every single item on your menu, and heaven knows I've eaten everything you've ever put in front of me. When my family can not make a decision on what to get on the way home or while we're out, we typically default to Mark's. Three different sauces to choose from: Original; has a blend of mustard to it, Red; which is really good, and Hot; which is my favorite, just a tad sweet with heat. Smoked turkey is my all time favorite, but it appears to be a favorite with many others. It's not always available and it sells out quick, but that's ok because there's plenty of everything else to choose from. The pulled pork is my back up along with the ribs chicken and everything else...

In general, there's not a lot of good Q in Louisville. You gotta get further out in the hinters to find true pit smoked offerings. So many places rely on the sauces for flavor and great Q should stand on its own with no enhancements required. But Mark's is not bad.

Great service. Friendly and generous staff. We sampled just about everything. Favorites were the honey wings, burgoo, turkey and fried pickles. Limited sauces, but you don't need them because the meats are prepared perfectly. Sides are good, but focus your attention on the meats.

This is a "Can't miss it" BBQ restaurant. The atmosphere is neat and the meat is delicious. Service was good and friendly. This is our second time being while in Louisville and have not been disappointed. If you are a BBQ fan check them out. The brisket was just awesome but the pulled pork and chicken wings did not disappoint either. You will not be disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste. I expected the run of the mill bbq. What I got was flavorful and filling. We got ribs, honey wings, burgers, onion straws, and tried the brisket. Out of all of that there was nothing we didn’t like. The ribs were tough to chew but I like mine sort of like that; I don’t need fall off the bone. The honey wings were a surprise, sweet and a hint of spice. Everything g was good and all of it, for four people, $50! We shall return!

What a nice place to get some tasty BBQ without having to get a reservation. Was in town for the weekend and stopped in for a bite to eat, we were not disappointed with the food. The food was really good, the staff was friendly however you need curtains or shades on the second floor windows to cut out the summer sun and heat. A person shouldn't have to sweat so much while eating out so because of excessive sweating I am giving four stars.

Great BBQ at a fair price. This was in the hipster part of town so it felt safe and parking was a breeze. Nice big cups of fresh brewed perfectly sweetened iced tea. The baby back ribs were out of this world. We had the crispy honey chicken wings as a starter which were perfectly crispy, but a little on the fatty side. The side salad had a lot to it. They were small, but the portion for an appetizer for 3 adults was perfect. We all got the combo platters, but only one of us could finish our plate. Nice atmosphere. I'd like to try this place when the patios open in the summer time.

This is a fine local barbecue restaurant that has stood the test of time. My son and I ate lunch there today for a reasonable price. He had the 4 ribs with 2 sides. The mac and cheese was silky and robust and the sweet potatoes fries were crispy and incredible. I had the barbecue chicken platter with the spicy fries which was a good size portion of meat and the fries were hot, crispy, and had just the right hint of spice. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good BBQ meal.

1st of all...service was great. We had a large party, and everyone was served in a timely fashion with little or no hiccups. If I was only rating service, I would give five stars. I ordered the #1, and so did my nephew. We got a variety of ribs, pork, brisket, and wings. The wings were pretty awesome, and so was the red potato salad. Unfortunately, the pork was dry and relatively flavorless without sauce. The ribs were from the end section off a rack and had little meat. What was there was dry and chewy. The brisket was trying with decent flavor profile, but it was dry and crumbly. My advice is order the honey wings with sweet potato fries or the red potato salad for a meal that won't disappoint.

Being from out of town. Really didn't know where to go for dinner. I will tell you, go to Mark's Feed Store. This was the best place. Excellent hospitality. Natasha our waitress was amazing. She was SO nice. The pulled pork was tender and so much flavor. I recommend the Honey wings, WOW. The sauce on the ribs and the burger was so good. Priced just right for a family of six. Second time we have visited Mark's when we have visited Louisville. The food is always good. The parking at the Bardstown location can be tricky but they have some great outdoor seating. Their mustard based sauce is good and there isn't anything I wouldn't recommend.

My chicken was cold and under cooked, but the other food was good. Very cute place inside though, and the service was friendly. The other person in my party said their bbq was decent so perhaps my chicken experience was just a fluke. I'd be willing to give it another try because I liked the atmosphere. Brisket was really dry and chewy, but had good flavor. Barnyard corn was legit. Mac and cheese wasn't worth it and potato salad was ok. Buttermilk pie tasted like pure sugar. Overall the BBQ wasn't great though which is why you'd come. Service was very fast and friendly and the atmosphere was fun. Will probably try again at some point...

We love Mark's Feed Store. We come to Louisville every couple of months or so, and we ALWAYS make a stop at Mark's. Usually we get carryout to take home because the rest of the family loves it, too. Whether you eat in or carry out, the service is excellent. Everyone is always polite, and quick to offer help. The food is incredibly delicious. The beef brisket is amazing. It melts in your mouth. If you haven't been to Mark's, you owe it to yourself to go. And once you've been, you'll definitely be back!

Took the family out for lunch, there was plenty of available seating. I had the burgoo bowl and a sandwich (pulled pork) , we also sampled the honey wings. Everything was great. The only opportunity for improvement was the speed of service. There were only 2 other tables seated at the time of our visit and getting a refill wasnt easy. Nonetheless we will surely be back due to the delicious BBQ.

My husband and I stopped by as we were passing through Louisville and were pleasantly suprised. We were seated promptly and our waiter was quick about bringing us drinks. My husband got a combo platter and I got a brisket sandwich. My brisket was a little dry but still really tasty, and his food was excellent. Between us we got the fries, coleslaw, toast, mac'n'cheese & baked beans, all of which were pretty standard but done well and delicious. They have three different BBQ sauces to choose from. We finished with a slice of the buttermilk pie that was teeth-achingly sweet in the best way. If it weren't for the sake of my waistline, I would have taken a whole pie home. The manager briefly stopped by to make sure everything was alright, which was nice. We are from up north, but if we are ever this way again, I would stop in for sure.

I like the building, the entrance with old windows is cool. It feels like a barbecue joint. The food. Sweet fried corn on the cob was tasty. The Red potato salad was good too, but nothing to cry home about. The ribs weren't my favorite. A little small, and a tad on the dry side. The menu at one part says baby back ribs and another doesn't specify so assumed those were spare ribs. Hard to compare after the fact and when you were expecting a larger type of rib. Sauces were good and liked that there seemed to be a tomato based and a vinegar based option to try. To desert, can't recall if/when I last had buttermilk pie, but on this occasion it was sweet like pecan pie is sweet. I'd like to try the option with ice cream next time.

Marks hasn't changed in the 20 years I've gone there. Its a great place to eat some really good and very consistant BBQ. I don't belive I've ever recieved a bad meal, and that rare these days. Two reasons why I don't give it 5 stars: 1st is ,I think all BBQ is over priced , everywhere in the world and I personally think it could use a face-lift inside , its been the exact same for too long. Other than that this is a really great place to dig into some really really good food. I will always recommend this place , at all louisville locations !! Great food , great staff 👍

Mark's offers consistently good barbecue. The combo platter gives you best sampling of their cooking. The real surprise for me was their chicken wings! They were delicious. The ribs were also tasty and not dry at all. The grilled chicken pasta salad was nice change up for a side dish.

We wanted a simple lunch but we wanted to sit and visit with family. We intended to go next door but when we got out of the car and you could SMELL the amazingness of Mark's we just had to go. 4 of us ate. 4 of us left full and happy. The sweet tea was just right! I was the only one that stepped out of the box and got the honey wings. Please don't miss this dish. I am so..so far away and all I want is wings and chips. They were so great. Crispy, sweet but not over the top, which is crazy cause they are DRIPPING in honey. Its been 9 days since we had this meal and its still something I think about. And I can't get chips any where locally (We're on the Gulf Coast) One of the many things I love about Louisville is everyone has chips and they're not from a lays bag. The rest of the family got a sandwich of some sort and one of the MANY sides. No 2 sides were alike. Everyone was so happy.

We all loved this place! We were in town for a high school student Skills USA contest/convention and this was our first time at Mark's. I got the fried fish sandwich. It was cooked to perfection. The breading was light and not over cooked. My GF got the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. She loved them both. My daughter got pulled pork mini platter which she loved. The service was great and our server (Chelsea) was a peach! If you are a first time customer you get a bottle of BBQ sauce to take home. I can't wait to get home to use it!

My husband and I had dinner to celebrate our anniversary. I hadn't had Mark's in years and from what I remembered, it was just OK. I'm so glad I ended up with a few coupons that gave me an excuse to go back, because the food was sooooo good! My husband had the burgoo and a brisket sandwich. He said the burgoo was good, but the brisket was perhaps the best he'd ever had. I had a combo meal that included pulled pork, honey barbecue wings, and ribs. Every bite was delicious, and I ate every single bite! I chose cornbread salad and sweet potato fries for my sides. The salad was delicious and the fries were fine. Our service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely go back! I would like to try some other menu items, but I don't know if I will because I loved what I had!

The first time we went to Mark's it was great. Came back Saturday 11/24 and there must be a different cook because the burgoo has fell completely off. Ordered fried pickles as well and the we're tasteless. Hopefully they do better in the future.

Mark’s Feed Store is BBQ gem in the Highlands. The servers at Mark’s Feed Store are always friendly. If Kenna is there, say hi from me. If you go on Monday night, they have free dessert. The boy in me still loves the soft serve ice cream. My go to dish is the beef brisket with sides of green beans and cole slaw. When I’m treating myself I love the red potato salad! Mark’s offers great food at affordable prices! Mark’s Feedstore offers a nice outdoor seating patio and there is just enough vegetation to block most of the Bardstown Road traffic. They have two floors and there is outdoor seating on the second level which the building does block the sun during dinner. Parking in the Highlands can be a challenge. Mark’s does have a free parking lot adjacent to the building and if you get there at the right time, it’s yours. This was not the 1st time that I've eaten at Mark's feed store but it is most likely the last. The wait for my carry out order was not an issue. I did call ahead but still had to wait 20 minutes after arriving to pick my order up on time. The mac and cheese was delicious. The green beans were ok. The fish was horrible. This is the 1st time that I've had an issue with their food. My employer has used Mark's feed store in the past to cater our employee appreciation lunches and the food was fine then. But today it was horrible. I'm counting calories to get into shape and feel that I just wasted calories for the day

Fantastic wait staff, excellent location, and wonderful food. Occasionally you can get an overcooked slab of ribs, but for the most part just about everything at Mark's is delicious. If you've got room for it definitely try the buttermilk crunch or buttermilk pie.

Nice ambiance, but the food was below average for quality bbq. The ribs had great flavor and tenderness at the bone, but had been left under a heat lamp (or something) causing the top of it to be leather tough. The cole slaw was flavorless and the beans were over cooked causing them to be more like paste than baked beans. Service was good though and you have to give extra credit for free desert on Monday. (Didn’t know about that until I sat at the table and was happily surprised) I did arrive for a late dinner (8PM) and that might have been the reason for the dried elements of the ribs and beans, but with so many options in town, I’d probably try another place before going back here immediately.

My only "bad" experience was the hostess. The manager told me to find a seat and someone will come help me. As we are approaching the seats the host ask booth or table. I love marks feed store and I've been coming here for years but I wanted to finally give some feedback on these wings. Your wings were great and then you changed suppliers a couple years ago and the ones you get now are not nearly as good. There's tons of fat on them and thick bites of breading with no meat. This is not a one-off experience. I love your honey sauce and so keep getting them, but this time today I think I've resolved to just move on. Wings today were either huge (with fat and breading) or tiny and broken on the inside. I don't know why you've stuck with the new ones because servers from multiple marks feed stores have told me they get complaints all the time from customers about this so it seems like the new wing that you got isn't a great choice....please find a new one similar to the 1 you used to have, besides that everything is great love your burgoo and barbecue thanks

Very friendly staff. When I mentioned it was my first time stopping in I was presented with a complimentary bottle of sauce. After having some on my ribs I bought a couple bottles to take home. I later bought bottles for every one of my groomsmen who all loved them. The Honeywings were perfection and the Buttermilk Pie was ridiculous.

When I came in the had Christmas music playing and while I love a good Burl Ives tune, this is the type place that should stick to what they know. Mark was a great server... Kinda sucks at his job (his words) but is friendly and means we'll, Hahaha. Here's my menu tip: ignore their claims about the best ribs in Louisville. Based off my single experience, if theirs are the best in the city then this is a city lacking great ribs. HOWEVER, that brisket might make you slap your mama! Seriously. Get the brisket. Really. Get the brisket.

When we're staying in a new town we usually ask the desk clerk for a recommendation. This time we asked her for a BBQ recco and she said Mark's Feed Store was the place to go. She was right! Good food, good price and great service! We had some trouble deciding what to order and our server was kind enough to bring a couple bites of their burgoo for us to try. We both decided to go with a brisket sandwich instead but the burgoo was fantastic and we're thinking about going back for that tomorrow night. They have a couple of unusual sides there too--deep fried corn on the cob--hard to describe but delicious. They also have 'buttermilk pie' we got a free sample of that as well and man was it sweet! Too sweet for us, kind of like a blond pecan pie without the pecans. We'll definitely be back, if not tomorrow then the next time we're in Louisville.

I love the onion straws and the chicken..but the service at carryout is lacking.. I know I'm in the south but to be called "hun" numerous times by a girl who I'm at least 20 years older if not 30 years older is pretty unprofessional not to mention I got half my order then waited over 10 mins for the other part to which now the first part was stone cold. This was my 2nd experience with said carryout clerk and it will be my last. It's not worth the hassle. To make matters worse they wernt that busy. I saw maybe 4-5 employees if not more just hanging back in the kitchen. Time to learn. Time to clean and from the looks of that building historic I'm sure it could use a little clean up. :)

Fried pickles was to died for service was great we had a great waiter but the only problem was the bbq didn't not taste like it was grilled or smoked mac and chesse and greens beans was ok ..brisket and chicken could have more favor but other then that the food was o.k

One day, Mark was alone in his family’s meat cellar. Neither he, nor his family, remember why they have a meat cellar. But they have it anyway, and it keeps filling with meat. Mark decided to do something about all the meat just piling up there, so he went down to tidy up a bit. As he went deeper into the cellar, the meat began to call his name. It beckoned him to come forth and become one with the meats. Mark saw his true calling amongst the meat, allowed the meat to absorb his being, and was then with the meat. Mark later opened a restaurant with meat, and it was a very popular, successful business, spawning multiple separate locations.

awesome sauce. The ribs were great. Had to order extra. Don't go here without getting the buttermilk pie. They will even let you buy the sauce and take it home.

Compared to my first look at Mark's Feed Store on the University of Louisville campus, I was very impressed with the food selection and the cleanliness. Only issue is that the food is pricey, but the taste is worth the cost.

Hi, I like this place a lot because all the food was yummy and it was so good and the workers were nice and its nearby the only thing that was bad was the fries they were gross I'm talking both kinds here they tasted like there was no potato in it but I did get a free pie and sauce bottle with good sauce in it it was all so good and I got a corn dog it was awesome tasting and I really loved the pie it was free since it was my first time plz give this place good reviews it was so good and I love it all my stuffed animal likes it too it was so good yum yum
