Honestly had a very nice dining experience here this early morning with friends. The staff was very nice and our server was great at her job, I'm sorry to say I didn't remember her name, but she was funny and took good care of our table. The food could have been a little better, was sad to not see our chef smoking out front when we got there lol j/k. But overall a good experience

Still feeling the effects of staff shortages. Seems like there was only one cook, one hostess who was the server and table buster. Took 15 minutes to get seated. There were only 7 people seated. I didn’t understand why it was taking so long. Although, once we got seated and order taken, the service was great. Food was great.

Awesome burgers and patty melts. I'm sure bfast is great too. Buddy had the sirloin steak, med rare, and said it was pretty good too. Service could've been better if they had one more waitress/waiter.

I would have given Denny's 5 stars if this review was done efore they went and changed the menu so drastically. Some original entries stayed but they added so many new versions of entrees that the customer gets clumsy when ordering and may not receive what satisfies them. The servers were experienced, upbeat and very attentive but the food arrived and left something to be desired. My country fried steak came with gravy that had either separated or was never mixed well enough to blend all ingredients. (It literally looked like clabbered milk was poured over my fried steaks and the cook sent it out that way!! I was appalled. Prices went up a little but still reasonable enough. Maybe in the future I'll return but not til enough time has elapsed that the cooks should have mastered the menu.

Great spot for a late nite food fiesta, or if you just want to grab a brunch, or lunch. The service is on point and the staff is super nice. Moreover, the have the best music selection to accompany your meal. I definitely recommend this place.

Ok, so Denny's has changed their menu to include a much more vast array of choices. Most are hearty staples you expect but some are a little overthought. The one that stands out is the "grand slam breakfast sandwich" a whole g.s. meal stuffed between two slices of Texas toast...idk, seems odd when I visualize it... The service though, was fast, friendly (very) and made sure we enjoyed my visit. The food was cooked well, tasty and fast to come. All in all a great visit.

Service is horrible. Our server just doesn't get it at all. Not only was she looking bad but her service was not even close to good. She doesn't have a clue what good service is. Also probably should look more professional, not a sweatshirt that had a rip and also looked stained up and dirty. Not happy at all

Talk about a restaurant Denise is one of the most high-quality restaurants in Louisville. If I ever had to go to a diner this would be it highly recommend every time I go here I’m excited and happy. I always get the moons over my hammy sandwich it was a very good sandwich has become my regular. The coffee is pretty good to they’ve got anything from cold brew to hot coffee. They’ve got pancakes sandwiches burgers and soups really an all-around great place to go. I recommend going if you’re in a rush or if you’re just trying to get a good quick meal. I like it a lot I wouldn’t trade the world for Dennis.

We waiting 2 hours just to get breakfast, then the food was cold. 20 or more uber eats bags sat getting old and cold as well. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE THIS DAY. :-(

Walked in and was immediately greeted by the smell of the bathrooms, which are poorly-placed by the front entrance. The entire restaurant does not smell like a bathroom, which another review suggests. It was a Sunday morning before noon, and as expected they were really working hard to take care of a full crowd. Even though it was just the two of us, it easily took thirty minutes for us to get from the front door to our food. The staff were mostly flustered, and running all around trying to get orders right. We were seated towards the kitchen, so we really got to hear quite a bit. Honestly, we both felt sorry for the staff as their complaints were valid and the same stressful stuff anybody in the food industry has dealt with. The food was very enjoyable. Our drinks were refilled when the food came. We were asked if we needed anything else. Our particularities regarding how we wanted our food were taken care of as ordered. The meal was really quite good, just as good as any good Denny's experience I've ever had. It's a shame that this location has some issues, but considering it was the absolutely most busy time of the week, I understand the predicament. Perhaps manage should realize they need to hire more staff for the Sunday rush.

My wife had a craving for biscuits and gravy so we went last Sunday for the first time. Easy access from I-65 North, though parking lot is on the small side. Our wait was a little long--seems that the weekend is their busiest--but was totally worth it. The food quality was excellent and the service was as expected for a busy lunchtime meal. We'll definitely be returning for more.

The waitstaff here are always super! The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to the fact this location is VERY popular on the weekends sometimes with DoorDash, and it makes dining in harder. Still great for pick up or carry out, though!

There is a sign on the door saying they don't refund for slow service. The service was a little slow (the cook had just went on break). But, the wait staff were super kind and friendly and did everything they could to give us a good experience. I would go back here again.

Truth be told, I will have to give this particular location another chance later on in future. But on this one night, I understand they were short-handed. That does not excuse the waitress who came out from the back fussing with the cook about her shortened break. And then asked to take orders, she replies with a very sarcastic and unfriendly tone of voice "I'll get to them in a minute." Respectfully, I opted NOT to give her that minute. I left. Dennys is a good eatery. They have good food. But this one restaurant in Louisville needs one of their waitresses to take a moment of pause. NOTHING is ever THAT fatal so as to act like that.

I would say this was a average place for dinner. Server was nice. Had some breakfast food. Thought scrambled eggs and cheese was pretty good. Bacon was crispy but sausage links were not very tasty and appeared a little under cooked in the center. Overall I rate as average.

Wife and I were both impressed with the food quality we received. Eight and ten year old kids ate free because it was kids free day and they liked food and enjoyed the kids paper activities while waiting for food. Our server was very pleasant and have us great service. Wife and I both decided that we have to for a Denny's near where we live - we were visiting from out of town.

Went to Denny's today and haven't been in months because of a bad experience. I decided to give them another shot today because we were in the area. My server TT was very sweet kind and funny. She was very patient with us (my husband and our children) playful with the kids. Food was amazing. I must say I'm impressed with my service and food today very professional. Excellent food! If you want a burger that is not frozen/prefab, this is where you need to go! Best burger I have ever gotten in a restaurant - my son was sold on it as well! (We did the build a burger w/Brioche bun, Swiss, mushrooms, sautéd onions, mayo.) Came with seasoned fries. We also ordered the sampler appetizer not knowing how big the burger would be (my son and I spit it)...way to much, but AWESOME! We got the onion rings (tasted like Vidalia with a wonderfully crisp coating), chicken strips (very tender and tasty), and bacon cheddar tots (OH MY! - they were like shredded hash browns, cheddar cheese & bacon formed into golf ball sized balls and deep fried....Amazing!!). Will definitely revisit and would highly recommend. Was a little pricey, but not really considering food quality and quantity.

Let’s be honest about what Denny’s is NOT. Nobody comes here because they want the best service in town. Denny’s purpose is to provide breakfast when you’re incapable of making it yourself, or when nobody else will. That’s it. The same version of me that’s sometimes in the market for Denny’s is the same version of me that wants to help raise their average rating online. Because if I’m being honest, the last time I ate at Denny’s was AT LEAST five years ago, and although it might be another five years until I eat here again, I’d like for them to still be an option when I’m ready for the Denny’s Experience again. My order is usually correct, and sometimes they even smile while bringing it out. Not even Walmart is open 24 hours anymore in 2022. So we should think again before we start feeling entitled enough to grade Denny’s on their “service” and really consider whether a future without Denny’s is even worth the gamble. So if you’re reading this as you prepare for your very own Denny’s Experience— remember to smile, be ready to order right when you sit down to wake the kitchen up, and adjust your expectations on how long it will take for them to snail mail your food to your table. Read a book. Play a game on your phone. Do your taxes. Get curious about what China calls their “Great Leap Forward” and wonder why they call it that. Meditate. And when they forget to refill your drink or bring out your silverware, accept and embrace it as part of the nostalgic experience you’re in the market for tonight. And when the check arrives, consider how much someone would have to pay YOU to deal with you at 4am. Then leave your over-caffeinated waitress the sort of tip that will make her want to do it all over again tomorrow.

I was in there Black Friday a little after 7pm and the lady that came to seat us was complaining as she walked up about her job there, I believe she was the manager. I thought this was not going to be a pleasant experience. When our waiter came to the table he was so awesome you totally forgot about the first impression. I think the waiters name was Michael, tried to call and confirm but no answer. Thank you to our waiter for the kindness and the humor. Great job.

My order came out one item at a time first my pancakes 10 min later my eggs 10 min later my sausage the manager said it's because of all the deliveries and only 1 cook, the manager should've been back there helping the cook "just saying"!

Dennys means a lot to me, because it reminds of all the times with my grandfather. I always went to the one over in st matthews but that one has gone to absolute hell. It's hard to even get service there. So whenever I feel a hankering for the old times I roll up to this one. It may not be perfect but its a hell of a lot better and I can at least appreciate that its operational. I hope the best for these Denny's and I hope the employees are being treated well. Love you all and let's bring Denny's back to it's former glory! I love the nostalgia and the food. 👑

My experience was actually awful but it wasn't technically the restaurants fault. A server literally walked out on their shift and left only the front and back manager ALONE to run the whole store. If you work in the industry you understand how this went down with just the management on duty. Lol. Anyways , we actually ended up having to leave because of the wait but we've ate here so many times and besides the service it's always so good. Just wanna shed some light to be nice to these workers. We are doing our best and staffing is causing so many issue.

Garbage. Got the build your own omelette. Big chunks of ham not diced like the picture. Super greasy. The vegetables also weren't diced. Ham was hardly cooked. Burnt but cold. I will never eat here again. The waitress was great though.

I just left this location and had the most pleasant experience with Acacia. She was so upbeat and welcoming, she smiled and was just all around pleasant. I will definitely return and hope to see her again!

We actually went twice that day. Once for brunch and way later for dinner. Brunch was great. Brittany was the perfect server. She even had the kitchen remake my wife's eggs because they were too done. Late dinner, we didn't even make it in the doors. We were told that it would be 45min to an hour for a table. There may have been 12 people inside. Maybe there was an issue with staffing or something but it sucked that we had to leave after having such a great experience that morning.

We had a really good experience here, the waitress was super friendly, and made good suggestions for us since we had a couple young picky eaters with us. We went on a Wednesday morning and it was surprisingly busy. We waited about 5-10 min to be seated. Once we were seated everything went smoothly and the food came out pretty quickly, cooked right, and served with a sweet, smiling face. I wish I could remember our servers name because she made our visit worthwhile. I mean, it’s Denny’s, not exactly upscale food. But for what it is worth, it was an enjoyable morning breakfast and we would definitely stop by and eat here again when visiting Louisville. And remember people, take care of your waitress if she does a good job 😉

We took a chance and drove all the way to Eastern Parkway from Shepherdsville Kentucky to see if our old favorite Denny's is open. And we got there and there was a small back up out of the front doors and went and put our name down and were the 5th or the sixth in line in the names of the people in the front door. It was a family but anyway it wasn't 20 minutes and we were sitting and it was only 20 minutes that we had our food despite the crowd that was there and everything came out perfect and we had turkey and dressing and potatoes and broccoli coffee and water and the service the food the staff was a 100%. It was the best that they could be there was no strife they were all working together to take care of the customers and I have not seen a better managed place under that kind of grout brush and a long time thank you Denny's we had a great Christmas dinner

I have been an Uber driver for about 3 months and sometimes orders can take you throughout the whole city especially on third shift. When you're working throughout the city on third shift there are not very many places, excuse me there are no places for you to use the restroom Denny's is one of the very very few who allows people to come in and use their facilities and I want to say thank you ❤️ I do appreciate it and because Dennys is so popular it never fails that I pick up an order while I'm here. it's little things like this that make a world of difference thank you

Nothing really good to say other then the server was nice . We as a party of 7. 5 adults and 2 children. Was a simple order burgers and 1 child's pancake. They told us after we pay the bill that the reason it took so long to prepare our food (more then 30 minutes) that the hamburger was frozen that they had to thaw it . The food was even later because our server took a smoke break as food was ready to be walked. Long story short . Food all the way around was now good at all . 3 burgers fry comes about $50 . Do t recommend going at 6 pm on Sunday although we were the only customers when we got there. Very bland. Needed refils and glasses should of all around table not been empty at same time so . Thanks.

Omg the food during early morning is the best and the service is great. But let me be honest there is a older lady there that works the front desk she is a little rude. She is mean spirited and just not warm or inviting. But i still gave them 5 stars because they really deserve it. The waiters are all on point. They cleared out most of the bad staffing and kept the best cooks. Great and affordable place to eat.

Good food, server was excellent! Unfortunately couldn't do 5 because the manager was walking around without a mask and the server was working the entire restaurant on her own. You'd think as a manager you would walk around and check on tables and help support your staff, but she didn't. She walked around and never checked on anyone. She just cashed out the customers, when there was one the cash out. Great server though! In my opinion, she should be the one managing, and I've worked in the service industry for over 25 years.

Customer service is friendly. Attempted to service my order in a timely fashion; however I didn't check my order and when I got home it was wrong. I had to return to get the correct order. The manager only wanted to give me what they messed up. I just told them to charge for the part that was corrected; & to refund my ticket for the other order, because it was now cold!

Short staffed. Only 2 waitresses. They did what they could and some people walked out. Food was good and hot. They were out of several items. They did their best and got everyone taken care of. My most recent visit to Denny's was very enjoyable. They were relatively busy so I had to wait a bit before being greeted and seated, but that's nothing unusual or extreme. Service was fast and efficient. Food came out cooked perfectly. Check was dropped when I needed it. The remodel looks nice. I have been since before the remodel.

Awesome experience- my server (name is a mystery but he's a tall black man) brought my order out to the car. He included several condiments, extra plasticware, and even an additional meal because the first one was wrong. He was very polite and down to earth! Food was delicious, hot and fresh- I highly recommend! Oh... and give that man a raise!

This location used to be a bit sketchy but they have really sorted it out. The food and service were better than I expected. The restaurant was clean, well staffed, and had a happy vibe... None of the staff looked or acted unhappy. We had a really good breakfast and will definitely go back. Denny's is always a bit underrated but usually a solid choice if you spend much time traveling, give it a shot and I hope you enjoy it as well.

Came here for my daughters birthday as she wanted a pancake dinner. Most of the employees were so patient and polite. The bathrooms were clean. Only downside was that it was hard to get the attention of our first waiter as she tended to stand around talking amongst other employees. She went on break and our second waiter was absolutely amazing! He was super kind and helpful.

Food and service was really good. Would suggest that maybe they think about putting a second wheelchair ramp on the side for times like today when the handicap places were all taken. I've been to this location several times and have always had good service, great food and a friendly atmosphere. Today I went in to place a to go order and got the GREATEST service from two employees, Nakiska ("Kisse"), and her manager, James. There weren't many patrons inside but there were enough to keep Nakiska busy because she was the only one working the few tables and running the register. They were EXTREMELY busy with take out, pick ups, and Door Dash orders. Throughout the busy atmosphere, Nakiska and James, who had to assist a few times because of the "traffic", were both the most accommodating, friendly, welcoming employees I have ever seen in the restaurant. My experience was well above my expectations and so I wanted to make sure to give them some credit since most people only mention the negative and never comment on the positive. I'll be going back around the same time I did today if this crew is working! And the food was GREAT!! 🙂🙂🙂⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very busy while we were in there. The system for call in orders is horrible as the tables inside tend to get pushed back and our food was very delayed because of the delivery food orders. The server was very apologetic and was doing everything she could to keep us happy. I ended up leaving her a tip almost as big as our check was for being so on top if things and handling a lot of other situations with respect and compassion. Will definitely be back to dine with this waitress!

Normally quite busy, as to be expected given the location being so close to the University and Expo Center. Nevertheless, service is always above and beyond and the restaurant staff is bright and friendly 24 hours a day. I've been going here since I was a kid and have never been disappointed. Bathrooms are clean, and despite a bit of a wait to sit, my server has never let me down. My drinks stay full and what we order comes in a timely fashion. Truly a great place to have breakfast anytime.

Overall this is a pretty good place. The food is good. My favorite is the Avocado Bacon Cheese Burger and The All-American Slam. I did not give it 5 stars only because service could be a little bit better. I've done restaurant work years ago and I know when its slammed busy you are running hard and its difficult sometimes to keep up with all of your customers. But when there are only 6 tables full in the house and you cannot get service...then service is not good. That happens quite often unfortunately. The staff is always courteous and respectful so that is good. This is a good place with good food just know service can be slow at times.

Denny's is an American favorite! Here in this region, anyway. I love their salads, but they've got great appetizers for cheap, it's nothing fancy, but it's comforting. The service depends on the locale, of course. I've had great service, and I've had service that made me wonder what buffoon did the hiring the day they selected my server. BUT the food has almost never disappointed and Denny's is my go to when I'm like, mozzarella sticks? Generous salad portions? Burgers? Nachos? I can't decide! I'll go to Denny's and get one of each!

Food is good but the service could have been better. The waitress took our order after 10 maybe 15 minutes after being seated then took too long (20 minutes) to get our food. After we (me and my mom) got our food a family of 3 came in, their order was taken immediately and with 5 minutes or so got their food. The man ordered a steak. Also to note, they were busy but not so busy as half the tables were even filled. The waitress in the time period of not taking our order, took an old man's cold plate of untouched eggs back to the kitchen and got him a hot plate of eggs. Now, this isn't the first time I've gone to Denny's where they take awhile to get you your order but it felt she just completely forgot about us til she went past our table. She was really nice and we gave her a tip anyway but also haven't been back since then(like a year).

The server I had did a less than adequate job. I ordered as soon as I arrived and it took a very long time just to get a cup of coffee and even longer to get my order although it didn't require any cooking. The server never came back to see if I needed more coffee or to check if I needed anything else. I should sincerely hope that I will receive better service in the future should I decide to go back. I have eaten at Denny's many times in the past and this has been by far my worst experience. I nonetheless still left the server a substantial tip.

Wow i went to dennys and it wasnt a great experience at all when me brother and his girlfriend went there we stood waiting to be seated we waited so long that we just sat ourselves. While we was waiting another group came in 15 minutes after we did and they got seated without a hastle they even got menus so we had to ask the waiter for us he gave us ours and took our orders for drinks. He comes back and take our orders for food and we waited to the point to where we were about to leave the place wasnt even crowded when we got our food my brothers chicken strips were over cooked but he settled for them because it took so long to get them my food and his girlfriend's food was fine. We were definitely ready to get out of there by the end of the meal. I could totally understand if it was crowded and there was a stall but there was hardly anyone there. I still gave a tip but dennys really need to work on their speed of doing things and awareness of customers

This used to be one of my favorite places for breakfast. The last time we went was not as good as usual and we chalked it up to a one-time fluke. Today however made my decision to never go back. Our waitress had no clue what she was doing. I had to get our silverware, our coffee, and any refills we wanted, she brought sugar in a plastic cup, and the food..was not good. My egg whites were still runny, my English muffin had no butter on it and she told me she could go put butter on it after she brought it. He ordered a small thing of gravy (.89 and we were charged for 2) We both ordered country fried steak and eggs, he wanted biscuits and I wanted an English muffin (she charged .79 for English muffin and .89 for the biscuit) We were charged for 2 cokes and the 2 coffees we ordered. She charged us for each item separately when it should have been $10.78 for the meal. We were charged $36.02 for this terrible meal and basically self service. She did our bill like it was a la carte, when we clearly ordered the special. It was 2:00 when we got there and so they weren't busy. We will not be going back there. Horrible experience. Don't waste your money nor your time!

My boyfriend and I go to denny's all of the time, so we know what to expect normally. The bowl of creamer had some kind of sauce on it and they didn't give us silverware for a while, but they quickly redeemed themselves. The host was VERY sweet and engaging. Our waiter (I think his name was Jake?) was a sweet heart, too. He was doing his best and going out of his way to make our experience a good one (keeping a close eye on when we needed water, checking up on us, etc.). The food was VERY good (especially for Denny's standards), and it came out really quickly as well. We came in at about 5:30-6:00ish on a Saturday, so it was surprising how fast it came out. We had a wonderful experience and outstanding service, but the cleanliness was lacking a bit. Overall, highly recommend :)

Granted I only had coffee, I was there for quite a while (I needed to kill a few hours) I explained to the hostess when I arrived that I was waiting for someone and did not want to take one of their "busy, popular, or center of the dining room booths or tables" I was waiting on someone and was probably having just coffee. They were extremely gracious did not constantly ask me "do you need anything? " or "is that gonna be it today? " you know making me feel like I was taking a seat that they needed for another party, when the shift changed they were just as courteous. I know these nice people are making a living and more table turn over means more tips, so I asked for very little, a cup of coffee and one refill in 4 and 1/2 hours, to be exact. Everyone there from the bus person, the waitresses, the cook and the hostess were friendly nice and personable all the while working very hard. My main point is this folks PLEASE TIP YOUR SERVER! They work extremely hard and if you don't know they make about 2 dollars a hour. This is how they support their families. Its Christmas and they have families and love ones just as we do. Don't make them chose between keeping the lights on or being able to let Santa come. I watched as 4 guys ate at least 50 bucks worth of food and left 2 quarters. I thought she might cry. No joke for one hour they ran her to death asking for a refill one at a time (one asked then she returned with drink, next one would ask, she'd return etc. etc. It wasn't my place so I just ignored, but when I left I gave her more than my bill required and just said "hope this makes up for the people that don't tip today. Try it out folks (if you are able) I can not always do that, but today I could. She appreciated so much. We didn't make it a big deal because it isn't a big deal its just is how it should be between folks.. That's what I think at least. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Showed up at 5:30 am on a Monday morning. Waited 5 minutes to be seated and there was no one else waiting,..the hostess, was also the cashier, and the waitress. I also noticed that there was only one cook on deck and 3 other booths that still needed to have orders taken or filled. As, I was in a bit of a time crunch, I didn't think that service would be expedient, so I left.
