Reviews of Ciao Ristorante

It was hard to rate this experience because it took 30 minutes for us to be waited on after being seated. We were given water, but nothing else. We watched other servers pass by and were confused as to who our server was. We were seated in the outdoor patio area, which was nice, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the chairs. They weren’t very comfortable.
Once we caught someone’s attention, another server soon came over to assist us and their service was great. We were compensated a bit for our wait, but it did almost ruin the overall experience for us. Fortunately, the tfood I ordered was AMAZING! Though my sister and friend didn’t like the shrimp scampi as much as I enjoyed the baseciola pasta dish. But the appetizer and dessert were my favorite part of the meal! I ordered the wings (phenomenal!) and a classic cannoli for dessert.
I’d love to come back, but would hope to not wait as long next time!

Appetizers were great. The fried ravioli and meatball were amazing. My only concern is that food did not came hot (but the hot that you can actually eat, not burnt yourself). However, if you love italian food, you'll love this place.
Sorry for the photos.

Made reservations for my wife and I and our son. The hostess and check in was smooth and she was so friendly. The place itself is nice, ambiance suitable for small parties or date nights. The waiter was not friendly to be honest. Nebbish service. The food was also nothing to rave about and served luke warm instead of hot. I think the price was a bit high for the offerings overall. Especially the beer which was local but priced like a rare Belgian quadrupple or something similar. The one saving grace, desserts. The desserts were really good, made in house. I would not return here but if you want to stop by for one of their desserts I think thats about all I can recommend. This is somewhat an average place with average offerings for higher than normal prices.

Service was great and food came out quickly. Calamari was delicious (probably moreso for those that don't hate olives), complimentary bread was fresh out of the oven, we had the scallops and lobster ravioli. The only note I'd add is that the garlic spinach that came with the scallops could be a touch too much for someone even if they LOVE garlic. It might be that the garlic was slightly undercooked and so harsher than intended, but everything was amazing none the less.

It was a beautiful and comfortable space and the baseciola was delicious. The house bread was also really good and we had good and friendly service. I thought the prices were reasonable and there’s plenty of street parking.

Ciao Ristorante was a very nice place for a date night. My wife and I decided to have an early Valentines Day dinner here. The atmosphere is very nice. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the toasted raviolis for an appetizer that we could not get enough of. My wife had the gnocchi alla Vodka and I had the Pappardelle Duck Ragu. We both enjoyed our meals. We will definitely plan on coming back again.

I have bragged about this place for two weeks. My best girl and I ate her last Friday and came back this Thursday because it is that good. Sierra is an outstanding serve with an infectious smile and positive vibe. Love her! Ashley is the magic hands behind the bar. She just dropped the fall cocktail menu. You can tell she spent so much time perfecting these specialty cocktails. We tried 3 and they were all very unique and excellent. The food is stunning. The ravioli (butternut squash with chicken or shrimp, and the lobster ravioli) is made with love. We also tried the butternut squash salad, as well as the caprese salad. Delicious! I cannot believe I am just now finding this place. Definitely my new fav :)

Cool atmosphere with good food. Service was really nice. Good option for Italian, but wouldn't call it a hidden gem. Worth a try if you're close by.

This was our first visit and were a little disappointed. My husband ordered a cocktail, but they were out. Ordered a dinner. They were out. Ordered again. They were out. Finally, after dinner, ordered dessert for take out, and they were out. We were told that it was because of seasonal transition. Here’s a thought. Maybe let your customers know when they sit down what exactly you’re out of. We’ve been to other places in town that do. OR update your menu with a print out that lets patrons know so they don’t get frustrated every time they get turned down when they order. Then, they’ll know not to order. My pasta, on the other hand, was so good! And the warm bread to begin with was really good too. The wine, so good! Probably won’t be going back, though.

Placed a carry out order on recommendation from a friend. Robin was very nice on the phone and in person. Usually I feel like I’m a hassle when I order over the phone, but both the hostess and the bartender were sweet and courteous. The two bartenders were experienced, nice and welcoming.
Calamari with sweet peppers was fantastic. We had a Caesar and chopped salad. The chopped salad was sooo good and the dressing seemed to be a mustard vinaigrette(?); delicious with the prosciutto. The chicken Alfredo was creamy. Spaghetti with 2 HUGE meatballs is worth returning for.
I really liked the ambiance and the open-kitchen for the pizzas. The bar had a nice selection and the bartenders knew what they were doing. Looking forward to returning to dine in for a date-night!
Jeff Slyn
Excellent waiter, especially considering we were a group of 12. Food good, prices reasonable. Place laid out nicely.
Cody Neel
The meatballs are huge! Toasted ravioli and baked manicotti are really good. Fresh ingredients. Pretty traditional Italian food options. The mixed drink options are a little limited but very well thought out and crafted. The decor is really nice. Good place for a moderately priced date.
Kentucky Keys
Food was great and my sons really enjoyed it. Cozy booths and friendly staff makes this place a hit!
Edie Grant
Ordered dinner for eight celebrating birthday. We had lasagna;chicken Marsala and chicken Parmesan Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and we would highly recommend this restaurant. The people are very accommodating. Thank you for a lovely evening
Jinsong Chen
Absolutely the best Italian food we had in more than two years! The appetizer was amazing and the pastas were even better. Seafood was so fresh and flavorful.
Alex Scott
Friendly bar tender. Had the soup of the day which was mushroom and spinach, and it was amazing. Great depth of flavor in the broth and well seasoned. Had the chicken parm sandwich which was massive. Only ate half, but I will be going back for sure
jaye carrico
Wonderful in every way. We left a $35 tip on a $65 check and it was worth every bit! Butternut squash ravioli and salmon with potatoes. Foccacia also incredible! House bread served with amazing olive oil dip. Recommend to everyone!!!
Joseph Nixon
Food was disappointing, especially for $20/plate.
My wife's chicken Alfredo was less than adequate - the Alfredo sauce seemed to be just a ton of butter with a bit of creme in it, and the chicken somehow tasted watery.
My wife's grampa got the lasagna, and when he got it, it was piping hot, couldn't hardly eat it, but by the time he made it to the middle it was cold (not just not-hot, legit cold). So the consensus was they badly heated it from frozen.
I got some red sauce "spicy" chicken penne stuff. And I enjoyed most of it.
It was SUPER dark, almost had to use our phones to illuminate the menu.
Service was good, very casual though.
I'd rather go to olive garden, and I don't particularly like olive garden.
Mary Beatty
Very haphazard service with a very long time to get drinks. Food was good but overpriced for the size of portions. Nice atmosphere. Maybe they were shortstaffed or we had an inexperienced waitress.
I'd try it again though.
Clara Baggett
Ciao is my new favorite spot for Italian in Louisville. I hesitate to go “out” for Italian, but this place gives me every reason to! Their offerings are amazing - we weren’t disappointed with anything from our appetizer to dessert. We tried the house olive bread, the savory monkey bread, Duck Ragu, Fritelle dessert with a scoop of vanilla gelato, and the espresso martini. The Duck Ragu and espresso martini were some of the best things I’ve had in a while. Also really loved the intimate atmosphere and decor - it’s a perfect spot for date night. Their desserts should not be overlooked either.. their tiramisu and Italian Crème cake are phenomenal.
Justin Shircliff
Really good authentic Italian food with huge portions, so go hungry. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious. The inside and decor is well done with lots of light and space. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend checking this place out.
Richard Linares
First time here, tucked into a neighborhood street. Great decor and great staff, I ordered their pasta carbonara and it was fantastic. Noodles perfectly al dente with poached egg, I had their muscles as an appetizer which was in a white wine sauce. For my dessert I had old world pour over and it was a fantastic way to cap off the meal. Mel our waitress was amazing and attentive. I’d definitely come back here and try the osso bucco.
melissa renfro-brumley
The restaurant is very interesting , the decor is very industrial! We went on a Tuesday night without reservations,
We ordered for appetizers, the calamari, and the ravioli. Both were excellent!!
We ordered for our meal, the butternut squash ravioli, the butternut squash pizza, and the veal parmesan.
The pizza was excellent, the sauce on the ravioli was very strange..had a strange taste..we thought maybe it was smoked garlic but it was not s pleasing taste. The veal was great! The.reason for the three stars was the.service. We waited ten to twenty minutes for a drink refill, and other items like bread . I understood getting busy, but it seemed they were short staffed. It turned our great food experience into a not good one!
Matt Bentley
Good Italian food, prices were decent. Service could have been better but we did have the last reservation for the evening so I'll give them a break on that this round.
Anthony Kidd
Caio is a very cozy restaurant, it was an absolute pleasure to eat here. We had the Calamari for an appetizer which was cooked to perfection. Bread and oil were also provided. For the main course, I had an amazing chicken parmesan. I definitely recommend checking out Caio!!
fred smart
Love this place. Have lunch here regularly. Carl, our regular server, always treats us well. Great soups, sandwiches and pizza.
Eric’s BBQ And MORE!
We had a wonderful meal tonight! Celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary! I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs are the size of a baseball! The red sauce is sooo good! We also had the fried raviolis. Everything was really good and the pricing was reasonable!
Micah Thompson
So we had just been to Italy and have been having a hard time finding something stateside that reminded us of the food that we had while in Italy. Still gonna say the “mother country” is where it is at BUT this is a close 2nd! Food was great and atmosphere is cozy. Only down side this night was the parking (there is next to none). Prices are pretty fair and portions are huge! il cibo è fantastico!!
Ben Luken
This was my first visit to Ciao, it will not be my last.
The food was incredible! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was fantastic.
This was a great disning experience. Our server was friendly, there when needed and had great menu suggestions.
There are not enough good words for this restaurant. It is the best italian I have had outside of Italy. Go to Ciao, you'll love it!
Jennifer Conley
Went for the first time tonight with a friend.. AMAZING! Service was impeccable. Amir is a great server. And, the FOOD!! We split the toasted ravioli (pictured--to die for), a ceasar salad (incredible), and the penne dijon with chickenthat sauce was the best I've ever tasted--cooked perfectly al dente. One order of each was enough for 2 people, and they kindly split the plates for us. The atmosphere was so great, cozy, comfortable, dim. And it was clean, and the staff followed all safety/sanitizing protocols to a T. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I will definitely be back over and over again
Jared Ferko
You could really tell the quality ingredients in the food. The price of the food was about average but there flavor and combination of ingredients were far better than most Italian places in Louisville. I can't wait to come back!
Adam Scherzer
Went here for our anniversary dinner and was treated great by all, especially our server, Bobby. No complaints. My steak was cooked properly and was delicious. It looked as if this place is a spot that has a lot of regulars and I can see why. Thank you for a good and memorable experience.
David Smith
Excellent food! Great service! We had Veal Parmigiana, chicken Alfredo and Lasagna. Monkey bread and meatball for appetizer. All great! No complaints! We’ll go back!
Linda Miller
I live near Ciao and since it has opened I am sure I have eaten here more than 30 times. And I have also ordered take out especially during the pandemic.
To me the food is delicious and unique. Serving sizes are large and I often take some home.
I particularly love to come for lunch. It is a little quieter and less crowded. I often come with friends and we can have a great visit without being rushed. Server Carl and owner Bridget are very kind and accommodating.
My favorites are their soups, salads, and the savory monkey bread.
I always know that if I have guests at my home and I can bring them to Ciao and we will not be disappointed.
C Kutey
This restaurant never disappoints. Every time we have been there we both say how yummy it is!
Highly recommend. I did not take pics of dinner but I had the Penne Alla Dijon with chicken - so good. And I had the Holiday Sangria. It was so good I had a 2nd one. The staff was super friendly and our waitress was amazing. Will definitely keep going back.
Shabir Bharadia
This was our first-time. We were seated right away. The design of the booths is interesting but a bit cramped. The waiter was very courteous and attentive. The food was prepared well and presented adequately. All things considered, I feel the prices are about 20% higher than they should be.
Rebecca T.
Very nice dining experience. Staff was friendly and cocktails and food were good. Limited vegan options (it would be nice if there were some pasta options listed) but the vegan cauliflower pizza was excellent. I added a lot of topping and they were generous with how much they added. Overall, good experience as a vegan and great experience for everyone else.
Joe Lantz
Great tasty dishes. Nice place although the service could have been a little better. We went for a family celebration and really enjoyed our meals.
Chelsea Facison
The food was amazing! The service was fast, kind and outgoing! Carl was a fantastic and was very informative! A great drink and food menu. I’m looking forward to coming back!
B
Food is great, cocktails are AMAZING, and the bar staff has been consistently great whenever I've been in (we usually sit in the front because we're there around 3 in the afternoon when it's slow and the bartender takes care of us).
Tyler McCormick
Our food was amazing! Our service was even better. Whitney was our waitress and her service was phenomenal! Highly recommend! Family friendly!
Edie Wooton
AMAZING! Food was what you would want a great, little neighborhood Italian place to be like. Elevated but not overly expensive. Nothing like it in Louisville.
sarah hyder
Food was absolutely the BEST! Our server was very attentive and very funny which my daughter enjoyed.
Lemon blueberry cake to die for. 5+ stars
Steve James
This is a hidden treasure. The decor is wonderful but the food and service were excellent! We loved our visit and will be a must return place for us.
Mia Dietrich
Always delicious. I highly recommend the duck ragu, and the wine whose grapes are grown in volcanic soil!
D K
It’s delicious 🤤 😋 I ordered food here when we visited Louisville and it was my best find. I just loved the food here. The lobster 🦞 ravioli was yummy!! Can’t forget the taste, tried the burger it was cooked perfectly. Fritelle Dolci dessert wow I have never had anything like that all these years.
Rocky Plotts
Excellent everything! We had a very large party on a Saturday night (we had a reservation), probably not ideal for any restaurant. However, every staff member we had contact with was amazing, thoughtful and provided great service. Food was fast for such a large party and everyone enjoyed what they ate. I had the lasagna and Caesar salad. Delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, I can't wait to go back!
Jenna Cole
Good food, good service & extensive bar menu. Husband had spaghetti & meatball (pictured below), I had pasta primavera & our kids had pepperoni pizza. Everyone loved their dishes!
L Frutoz
Staff was amazingly helpful. Wine was great as well as the food. Went for my baby's birthday.
Akemi Boothe
Gorgeous place, with amazing food but our male water was super road, told us the wrong items, felt like we weren't welcome
Doug Collins
Yum! Cream sauce was a little too heavy but flavorful. Desserts were chocolatey and decadent.
Nicole
Food was good. Mine was over cooked. Waiter was baffled and just couldn't get it together.
Arthur Hurlburt
Food was good. Very authentic. My one complaint was the bench, it was way too narrow. It made eating a little awkward due to the fact I had to sit "side saddle." But if we sat at a table instead of a booth, this would not have been a problem. The cannoli was delicious!
Ronald A. Bouvy
So we found this place while searching for great food locally from Vacation Rental.
And very glad that we did one of our nicest dining experiences by the experiences during our whole Kentucky bourbon trail adventure.
Just wonderful service and could not have been happier with the Wonderfully authentic Italian selections throughout the menu...
And cocktail selections were equally Is great and very creative... and great, great, outdoor space for dining...
We will definitely be back, possibly even before the end of this vacation.
Jennifer Beal
Excellent food and service, but the waiter let us order bread for appetizers and later brought us complimentary bread. Wish he would have told us before we paid extra for it. Prices were a little steep.
Joshua Lively
Across the Atlantic lies a wonderland of delicious flavor and eclectic ambiance that sends shockwave that allows for the current to move towards the United States from that little boot-like country. The radiation of flavor made its way to Ciao in Louisville. Such a prime example of what an affordable casual Italian eatery should be. It seems as if the chef was transcended from another realm where pasta making is held as the highest honor in the land.
Ric Manning
My Highlands favorite. Love the booths in the rear for conversation. I go for the giant DIY calzone so I can take half home. My vegan companion like the meatless options.
Gil Schrage
Stopped in recently for the light dinner and was pleased to see it remains a great neighborhood restaurant with fast friendly service and excellent food. Something that's not easy for a restaurant to do in the best of times and this spectacular achievement given the challenges of the last two years.
Kudos to the team at Ciao!
steve hoak
Fantastic food, great presentation and beautiful atmosphere. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Great pricing as well. Will be here often.
Teresa Lindemann
The food was really good and they accommodated our party of 14 perfectly!
Burt Chandler
Good, not great, but fun. Interesting combination of sports bar and Italian. Good service and really like neighborhood restaurants, very worth a visit.
Mary Prestigiacomo
It was quite delicious! I had fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The bread that they bring to the table, is out of this world, amazing, so soft and so flavorful with the delicious taste of roasted garlic. I could not get enough! The server was also wonderful and attentive. He had a good sense of humor and was very polite and knowledgeable about our food we ordered. I'll definitely go back!
RobRoy McCandless
Absolutely delicious. We had the calzones, and they put as much effort into the dough as they do the rest of the ingrediants. Definitely worth visiting.
Judy Fout
Both baked ravioli and chicken broccoli pasta with pesto was delish! Not too noisy which is a plus these days! Our first visit but will return!
Brandon Wallace
Tasty food, generous portions, and delicious cocktails. Great spot if you are looking for good Italian.
Linda Kienzle
Very nice place! The calamari was different and VERY DELICIOUS! Definitely will order that again. Portions were ample and very tasty. Good atmosphere and great service.
Marvin Ambs
The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior is very interesting. It appears to have reused fixtures from older buildings with Edison light bulbs for lighting. They have bread to dip into oil. The bread was very moist & I didn't like it, but my brother loved it. We both had lasagna as we love it and have had it at many restaurants. This was the best we have ever had. We would have like to had a larger portion and more meat. My brother had the Italian wine cake with nuts and coconut and it was excellent. I had the Mertillo Calzone and it was superb. It was filled with blueberries with a sweet cream on the side. It wasn't super sweet, but was sweet enough. We will return soon. This a good place to bring a date. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Thomas Foley
Definitely should have got a reservation, but we were able to immediately sit at the bar. Service was not great but the food was very good. Typical Southern Italian cuisine.
Michael Beckmann
Would have given a 5 star but seemed disorganized. My mussels were delicious. Needs work on running a successful Friday night. I get that it's busy. I don't need to hear about it repeatedly. But will return.
Lindsay
It took an incredibly long time to get our drinks - 45 minutes. In the end they are amazing cocktails, but the wait was just too long, Food was pretty good.
Ana Darias-natali
Delicious food!! Excellent service. Recommend the pasta, octopus antipasto and tuna tartar.
Zach Hamilton
Made a reservation and got seated right away. Once at the table we immediately got water and bread. We ordered about 15 minutes after arrival and got the appetizer quick. The food took nearly 45 minutes. We had to ask for more bread to hold us over until the food came. In my opinion the food was nothing special and I enjoy Fazolis more. It was also odd and awkward that the manager told me I “have cute hair” while I was eating with my girlfriend.
Eric Marcum
Food was good. Service was good. Wished they would have brought out bread before the apps, they took the leftover bruschetta away, then brought more bread. We would have eaten it!
Allison Scott-Eagan
Fantastic mocktails and cocktails... the mussels in garlic butter and homemade bread is always a must.
Thomas Smith IV
It was an amazing experience. A place where the food matched the service.
Sabrina Dumas
The atmosphere was amazing, the wine list very good, appetizer and bread was delicious...the main course a good bit disappointing. Our party waited a very long time for food, the salad across the table from me was also delivered late.. Then when dinner was prepared it was brought to our table one plate at a time with large gaps between...My main course was Very dry and uneventful flavor wise. Asked service about it and was told that was the norm for that dish after she had recommended it while I was ordering it without any warning. I was disappointed for quality vs outcome. Then was offered no compensation for the dislike. Paid full price for dinner that I was unable to eat and enjoy. Don't waste your money on the Chicken Roulade.
Jason Hill
Delicious! I had some type of chicken and pasta. The seasoning was so good and offset by pretty plain pasta. The combination worried very well. Highly recommend!!
Valery Levitt
While the menu was extensive and had a good mix of items, I was disappointed in the taste of the food, especially the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was pretty flavorless and not very tender. We also got the lobster ravioli which was decent and my mom liked the chicken Dijon pasta but my dad and I didn’t care for it.
Robert Buchwitz
Service and food was absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere. Food was full of flavor and the desserts are even better. I’ll definitely be going back!
Taylor Corwin
First, the food here was delicious. I had the lobster ravioli and absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly and the decor made it feel very quaint and private. A very rustic industrial type decor.
Second, the staff and owner went above and beyond for me. I had a small trip over the curb walking up and hit my face on their staircase sign. The owner happened to be outside. She not only came rushing over to check on me, she brought me a towel (small amount of bleeding from my lip) and ice. Staff offered me some advil and when I said I could only take tylenol, she sent someone to the nearby store and got me some tylenol. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend!
Sovann Ry
Great atmosphere, price is reasonable, food is amazing and well prepared. The servers were all friendly and knowledgeable. Good place for a date
Jen A
Randomly came across this restaurant and it was amazing! I love the privacy of the booths in the back, the service was great and the food was amazing! I wish I had room for dessert because it all looked so delicious. Definitely recommend and will be back!
Paul Druck
Absolutely fantastic. Was suggested to us by a friend named Mark Carter. The building and atmosphere were phenomenal. A lot of work really went in to making this place look as awesome as it does inside. The food was amazing. Great menu. Great portions. Definitely a place we will frequent.
Jessica Jones
I will be back. A LOT. Ambiance is both beautiful & artistic. Everything smelled delicious & was delicious. Got 6 tiramisu to go for Father's Day- dad & grandfather's favorite. They can tell when espresso flavoring (yuck) is used & they were delighted to have real espresso & an authentic Italian tiramisu culinary experience. It was absolute perfection.
Janie C
Customer service and food was outstanding.
Staff was very personable, will definitely go back.
Timothy Davis
This place get the AAA award
Awesome environment!
Awesome food!!
Awesome staff!!!
Thanks for the great meal, drinks and evening.
Taylor Hall
My husband and I loved the way it was designed. Everyone was super nice and sweet to our son. Whatever you order will be massive so make sure to bring your appetite. The food is worth EVERY penny. We have already decided to go there again the next time we are in Louisville.
Elina Pavlova
The food was very good the first time I went there. This second time I ordered butternut squash ravioli and was really disappointed that it was soaked in an overpowering sauce, I couldn't taste any of the squash and I love my butternut squash. But I still have to leave 4 stars cause it's only one dish I didn't like 🤷🏼 …
Larry KG4ZAR
10 Stars!!! Absolutely one of the best dining experiences my fiancée and I have had. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and well prepared.
Nicole Newkirk
This place made my day yesterday I was so happy after eating there. Me and my boyfriend went there after my white coat ceremony to celebrate, and I’m so glad we did. Not only was the food AMAZING but the drinks were too. They even let my boyfriend sample the beer before ordering. The bread was TO DIE FOR and they let me take home a whole extra serving. On top of all that, they gave me a free cannoli with a candle to celebrate!! We’re definitely going again asap. Thank you to the staff for being so nice
We had gone here on Valentines for take out last year and they gave me a rose -but we ate it at home due to the pandemic.. so glad we got to actually eat in this time.
Donald Glasser Jr.
For the price vs quality, you can't beat it. The scallops and the tiramisu are great!
James Gordy
Delicious Food, Amazing Decor!! Definitely will be back!!
Leah Weingartner
We live just up the street, so we often order takeout. Normally just appetizers or calzone, but this last time we actually got entrees. Everything we have ordered so far tastes great! Love the desserts in particular.
Pat McGroyne
Nice atmosphere. The food was okay, not spectacular. $75 for a couple with no alcohol. Calamari was a little bland, as was the mushroom risotto. Risotto was fresh and hot, my companion's butternut squash ravioli was tepid. They comped us a dessert. Italian creme cake was tasty. Tiramisu was also lacking any real *pop*. Maybe more espresso needed? It was a monster portion. I'd go back, but would try other dishes. The pizza looked really good.
Max Goldsmith
This past Monday night I took a group of about 16 folks to the restaurant. I stopped in to talk to the staff Monday afternoon just to be sure they could handle us and to express that there would be separate checks for a good part of our party. I was assured they could keep it straight and I need not worry. As we arrived folks went to the bar first where we were meet by a very unprofessional bartender. He was just short of rude. Drinks were made wrong and all of the pours we're very small. I would never go to the bar again if this is the norm. Our server was very friendly but really let us down at the end of the evening when everyone had mistakes on their check. This caused a ridiculously long and somewhat embarrassing end to the meal. My trip earlier in the day was a total waste. The food was good not great and the service was slow. I hope they will improve with time because they will not make it without some work and training. The decor was innovative and pleasant.
Jessica Levesque
We are from out-of-state, and while looking for somewhere close to the hotels to eat out, we ended up at Ciao and we were so happy we did. We loved our server Chris who was so sweet and steered us in all the right directions when choosing our plates. We shared the Calamari and ordered a mixed drink (the ingredients were very fresh) and a glass of wine. The Butternut Squash Raviolis and the Primavera were both delicious – I would agree with other reviews about asking for the bread before the meal, it was some of the freshest table side bread we’ve ever had! We also decided to split a slice of cheesecake and was not disappointed! Would highly recommend to anyone traveling looking for something that isn’t just your ordinary chain!
Kismet Sarken
Random restaurant search found us here. Having spent a month in Sicily we developed a love of arancini. To find a place that not only has them, but to find they taste fantastic was an absolute pleasure. The toasted ravioli was also scrumptious. We looked over the dessert menu but sadly had no room for it. We will absolutely be back!!
Juice Juice
I have been twice once for dine in and once recently for take out. Dine in experience was awesome the food is fantastic and decor is really cool. Unfortunately the place is built in a shot gun format so space is tight but we enjoyed ourselves. Take out experience was a little disappointing once again food was good but when you are paying what your paying for noodles you expect your dish to at least cover the bottom of the to-go box.
Justin Schwarz
Awesome food! I've been getting Togo food, more than I care to admit! Every time it's perfect! Great flavor, great service and always spot on. I highly recommend eating their food! Atmosphere is relaxing and inviting.

Great restaurant! We got the dine in experience at their heated patio, which was pretty good. Food and drinks were both amazing, although drinks felt a little pricey. Overall would definitely recommend!
Jeré Overstreet
This place is amazing. My review comes during the COVID pandemic.
The employees wear masks, they take your temp before being seated, you are mandated to wear a mask now, there are partitions placed between areas that are adjoining. They really do go above and beyond.
Now, on with the review. The place is just awesome. The decor on the inside, the patio outside, the neat little things that they have, that you just have to go see for yourself.
The cocktails are phenomenal. The mixologist is very wise with what works well on the palate, and what delivers a good aroma upon drinking. She is incredible. Bartender, she is not. She is far more than that. I can't stress enough how educated she is in her field.
The food. WOW. The meatballs, are soft ball sized. The cheesecake, is darn good. And I have high expectations on cheesecake. The cannelloni was unbelievable. The lasagna, the fried mozzarella, the Italian sausage sandwich. I mean, I sound like a hungry hippo here. I was introduced to this restaurant one week ago. I've been three times since then. I just really enjoy myself here.
Ms. Wright
The food is AMAZING!! Lovely atmosphere and the sweetest staff ever. Kayla took care of us, it was our first visit and she was so attentive and patient. She didn't say no to any of our request. They truly helped make my daughter's birthday special. We will definitely be returning soon!
Dennis Horn
I used to visit here when it was Baxter's and I have to say I liked the food better then. But the wait staff was friendly for a recent lunch and the food was okay. The place itself is pretty cool, and designed for hipsters it seems. Very industrial with iron pipes for table stands. Would like to try in warm weather when they have the large doors open. Not bad but not memorable either.
Marika N Hollingsworth
Went for a dinner date and sat in the fully covered patio of the restaurant. We loved the atmosphere. The calamari could have been more fresh but everything else was great. Service was awesome.
John O'Dwyer
Can't share about the food. We went and the block they were on has a power outage. 5 stars though because the owners, in a stressful situation, were out front meeting people and offering apologies. They were so nice and cordial and made you feel like you didn't really miss anything and made us want to come back. Thank you to them
Patrick Cahill
I ordered lasagna to go, earlier this week. The lasagna was great. I was excited to take the family back for a sit down dinner. This time I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs are huge (more like meatloaf). I was a little disappointed with the selection. The sauce and meatballs were both a bit bland. Also, no bread or parmesan cheese was served or offered with the meal. The service and atmosphere were both pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant and definitely the lasagna. A few minor details would go a long way with the overall experience.
Neal Ward
We were pleasantly surprised upon entering ciao. They have transformed space into something very nice. The pizzas and the other food offerings that came out of the kitchen were terrific. Our service was also equally wonderful. Remembering the space from the time that it was the Baxter Street Station it has made a complete transformation
mary bailey
Excellent food. Best scallops and polenta cakes imaginable!!! Presentation was 5star!!!! Cocktails generous. Butternut squash pizza a must try!!! Owner even came to our table. Our new fave!! Robert best waiter!! His detailed descriptions made u want to order everything! What an amazing experience!!
adam karpoff
Really nice decore and excellent food choices.
Joel Hamlyn
Amazing Italian food. The kitchen creates some real magic here. Great service and fantastic atmosphere. Drink menu is diverse and all top notch and offers some domestics as well. Pizza was wonderful as well. If you haven't eaten here, do so very soon.
Jasmin Sturgeon
Went for the first time and it was amazing! I went for my anniversary dinner. A more expensive sit down restaurant and worth every penny. The lights are dim, candles are lit on every table. Nice romantic feel! I'll definitely be back. Customer service was amazing on top of the food
mark grote
Classic Italian restaurant with delicious entrees. Real cheese that stretches into long strings as you eat. Chorizo, veal, and chicken choices for some entrees.
stephen Dixon
Very good food, and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Thomas Occhipinti
This was in regards to the post from Catie Davenport. I was there and was seated right by y’all. Y’all were rude and disrespectful. We did not send our food back. They took it to box it up for us to take with us. Your table made fun of the server when she fell. That was not cool at all . The poor girl was crying and hurt. i heard the manager talk to you and she gave y’all several gift cards for y’alls inconvenience plus a round of free drinks . They were extremely busy and did the best they could. The manager also gave y’all a credit for the food y’all didn’t like and the worse part is that y’all didn’t leave a dime when y’all left for anything at all. Not even your drinks. You should be ashamed of yourself if you are in the service industry.
On the other hand, our food was awesome! We did have to wait a little bit, but was well worth it.
Debbi Smith
The food and drinks were delicious, and service was excellent. We ate on their patio (which is enclosed as opposed to open air, so not entirely sure it qualifies as an outdoor dining space... more like an unheated room) due to COVID, and the only negative would be that none of their patio heaters were working. I would definitely visit again post-COVID though!
Alejandro Perez
Really good place, we had the chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs and both were delicious, huge portions ! Service was very very good.
Stephanie Vander Zouwen
Amazing Italian food at a reasonable price. Relaxed atmosphere that is nice enough for a date night or anniversary but not so high brow as to feel awkwardly fancy.
Myra Clayton
1st time visit for me.
Cool eclectic design and décor as well as nice atmosphere. Variety of table options including high top, low top and booths.
Service was slow ro begin, and decent overall though we received our wine after the appetizer was delivered.
The wine list- a bit eclectic & off the beaten path choices. Would like to see more Italian varieties.
The biggest disappointment was the food. Generic soft table bread starts the theme. Agreeing with some of the other reviews in that finesse in flavor and detail was lacking. The eggplant rollatini was very dry inside, greasy, as well as burnt on the edges. Red sauce tasted like it was simmered too long and a little burnt as well. My date said he had ordered the same dijon pasta previously and the sauce was very different on this visit, amd not as good.
Although i love to support local businesses as much as possible, I likely will not give this one another try unless invited.
Chanda Hand
I was full before the main course came. That's how good it was. They took monkey bread to a new level. Calamari was great. I had the 6 o'clock roasted chicken. It was really enough for two ppl. Great wine. Great for date night.
Mike Ware
It was excellent!! Shelly our Server was great!!!
The appetizer of Spinach fondue and salami/pepperoni chips... simply yummy and the Lasagna by far was just wonderful!! A must family or date night out!! Great atmosphere!!
Steve Cruse
Me an my wife were in Louisville on a little day excursion and decided to have some lunch at a local italian restaurant. Having initially planned on one of the larger known places downtown, we changed our minds and decided to give this place a whirl. We are so glad we did! Everything we ate, we loved! The bread, the Calamari, the entrees. All were delicious and had true authentic italian appeal. Definitely sending the peeps from Richmond, Ky your way.
Nan Lambert
Very good food, highly recommend the Michigan Apple Salad. So yummy and fresh
The waiter was efficient, professional and welcoming. I will be going back.
Nancy Alvey
First time visiting Ciao and we really liked it! I had the Gnocchi alla Vodka and it was delicious! Service was good but a little hectic. Could be that it was busy & not much wait staff that we saw. Definitely will go back!!!
Jason Pearson
First time at the restaurant and won't be the last. Excellent appetizers and dinner entrees. Meal portions are large and enough for leftovers for the next day. We all had different drinks from the bar. I don't recommend the Monk drink, unless you like the taste of jagermeister. But they do make a wonderful old fashioned and sangria wine. I recommend the lobster gocce and the daily monkey bread. Loved the atmosphere was relaxed and casual wear. Make sure you make reservations. We did for a party of 4 and were sat immediately upon arrival. So glad we found an another favorite restaurant.
MPH Kentucky
Atmosphere is fun and interesting. A welcome change from previous restaurant, which was beloved but tired. Had to wait briefly for our reserved table. They were so accommodating and attentive during our wait. Service was very attentive and prompt. The food was spectacular. Calimari app was crunchy and fresh. The spaghetti and GIANT meatball was flavorful. Get a booth if you want conversation without yelling. Decor of metal and wood makes noisy dining roombooths more private. Definitely will return!!!
C C
Butternut squash pizza was absolutely amazing.
Also decent price for the portions. We went during dinner menu and the food was all fresh and absolutely fantastic. Great date spot or go with a group of friends.
Andy Lowe
We ordered calamari and shrimp. Both were prepared perfectly. The person in charge of the front of house was very attentive. She noticed we were getting blasted by the air handler and adjusted it before we even mentioned it. That is good service!
S S
The food was absolutely amazing! I tried multiple apps that were all delicious, the eggplant parmesan as my entree, and tiramisu for desert and would recommend them all. My only complaint was that the service was not the greatest. Our server was extremely pleasant, but I think the restaurant pace might have just been a little overwhelming for him (a busy Saturday night). That being said, I will definitely go back again!
Gabrielle Bhride (Abby)
When you think of good food presentation, the last thing that comes to mind is a full plate, but that's what Ciao has to offer. Rich flavors coupled with full bodied wines in a rustic industrial setting make this an excellent place for a date or a night out with friends. The price point is reasonable at around $20 a plate; you will have leftovers and they will be good the next day. This is a great place for foodies who are looking for that quiet, hard to find, memorable place to go back to again and again.
Christopher Blumer
Great atmosphere, Lemon Caper Chicken Penne was fantastic and the Carrot Cake Tiramisu was to die for. Very clean, great atmosphere, apparently the patio is new and looks very cozy. Service was great, will return.
Karice M
Perfectly cool, unassuming setting, with full throttle Italian flavors. We love the atmosphere, house made breads & cheeses, and consistently well done
Lorrie Zoeller
Atmosphere was great with food to match!!
Vanna Nelson
Here from Columbus,Ohio and this place hit the spot. Everything was delicious 😋
The service was excellent. Everybody was so friendly and helpful.
This place will definitely be my #1 dinner spot whenever I'm in town. …
Rachel Onstott
Although I had scheduled a reservation and better tables were available, our party was seated at the worst location in the house right next to the hot kitchen. During early (not peak) dinner period, service was slow and less than attentive. Took 15 minutes or more just to receive bar drinks. My Rye Whisky "Rebel Yell" was horribly sweet. Appetizers were good, entrees and overall experience mediocre. I won't go back.
audrianna powell
Great place took a while when we got inside for anyone to greet us then someone finally did they were very nice then Ariel was our server she gave us everything we needed and our food was good so overall good experience
Erika Oliver
Love Ciao, great appetizers and fresh Italian food. It's a great place to gather with friends or enjoy a special date night!
marcia hurlow
Delicious, well-prepared Italian food, original dishes and old favorites. The calzones are huge, stuffed and available with your choice of fillings. This time I had the gnocchi alla vodka, with potato gnocchi, fresh sausage, and spinach. Servings are generous, attractively plated. The service was good and friendly, without being too present. Be sure to make a reservation, since there is not lots of seating.
Ken Kalmey
Truly Italian fresh, flavorful, great service and great atmosphere. Bridgette and her staff put together an old time Italian delight. Lunch time crowd light when we went but was told is hit or miss for crowds during this time. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night very busy but worth the wait. Lunch and dinner menus are mostly different.
Anthony Graves
Meatball and Monkey Bread was awesome. Service was good.
Russell Rollins
There are two axes of good food, creativity and execution. Ciao Ristorante scores high on creativity, but execution was lacking. I thought some of the ingredients (especially tomatoes, during summer no less) weren't very fresh. But there were some really cool ideas on the menu. Would definitely give this place another chance in the future.
Marty Waldeck
Great Italian food with a quiet atmosphere good for small groups and couples. There is a bar area for more a more lively experience, but the dim lighting contributes to a feeling of privacy.
The house cocktails are respectable, especially for a place that isn't focused exclusively on them. Food portions are good for most dishes, with some bordering on enough food to share.
Chelley McMahon
Visited for the first time tonight and enjoyed it for the most part. Fun atmosphere with lots of re-purposed materials in the decor. The little snugs around the booths are nice, though was not enough to keep the cell phone light of the people at the next table out of my eyes as they used it to helicopter and entertain their precious precious one throughout their stay. Dim lighting contributed to need for a light to read the menu, but not cool to shine it in others' eyes for thirty minutes. Food was good. I had a rib-eye which was covered in a very spicy sort of pesto, roasted potatoes, and ratatouille. Bread was stale here and there so more like it had been sitting out all day, more than toasted. My dinner companion ordered the sausage pizza and enjoyed it. Large portions and good enough tasting, though not especially remarkable. Nice to find a Monday place as they are limited in our area. Might give them a few months to get going and try again, especially if we could find out which night the mini-divas and helicopter parents are less prevalent after their play practice or rehearsals or whatever was going on tonight with all the youngsters. Maybe one day an eggplant parm might show up at this Italian restaurant? One can dream.
Kathy Lane
The food was absolutely delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and our server Bobby was excellent. Very attentive, the food was delicious and the lemon cannoli was excellent. Bobby even gathered a couple of people to sing Happy birthday. The prices were very reasonable, this is just an excellent place for a celebration or just to have a pizza or calzone.
Cheyenne Jones
FOOD WAS AMAZING!! I had the chicken Alfredo, it was to die for it was so creamy and the chicken was just right it was very good and a big amount definitely get your money's worth, my boyfriend had the spaghetti and meatballs and was huge! Be ready to eat it was fantastic tho great flavors ! My dad had the baked spaghetti and he was super happy with it he is a repeat customer who suggested it to us ! You will not be disappointed it is a must eat !
Miss B
Service and food was fantastic! Try the butternut squash soup and ravioli! #yesplease
Courtney Calhoun
My friend and I went for the first time and we both enjoyed our experience. Service was great and the food was delicious. I am pescatarian and options are usually limited for me since I do not care much for salmon or tilapia in restaurants. This was not the case at Ciao. Most of the dishes came with the option to add shrimp, which was a bonus for me. I cannot wait to visit again and try other items on their menu. Definitely check this place out!
Nate Lehrer
Great food and drinks - a gem in Louisville
Stephanie Thomas
Very cool steampunk inspired decor. Service was outstanding. We were only there for drinks and dessert, fantastic mixed drinks, extensive wine and beer lists, desserts are amazing! Will definitely go back for a full meal.
Jeremy Simms
Very good Italian eats. Northern and southern Italian cuisine vary widely. I'd say there are elements from various regions here. So if you prefer the lighter flavor of the North or more robust flavors of the South, there are choices. The pizza is good, but I recommend trying something you've never had. There are items on the menu you will not find anywhere else locally that will amaze you.
Amrish Patel
Very good food, for a person that's doesn't like Italian, this food was awesome.
Mike Wheatley
1st time visitors, not disappointed! Chicken Parm, Fettuccine Alfredo and bread sticks all were the bomb!! The service was awesome, decor right on. Fits in the Irish Hill neighborhood like a glove. Definitely, we will be back!!
Rhonda Hahn
We sat at the bar this evening. Chase and Ty greeted us promptly and introduced themselves. First night of the new cocktail menu and it was wonderful. Such a well stocked bar! and the bar manager, Ashley, knows her cocktails. ...and amaros, they have them and know what to do with them. The food was delicious but I cannot say enough about the cocktail skills. If you don't try their cocktails, you are missing out.
David Coronato
Good food and drinks. Good place to take a date with semi private booths
Food pricing is what is expected with Italian food
Lillian McCandless
The food was delicious and the waitress was so kind and attentive. I highly recommend this place
Tonya Griffith
Great Italian Restaurant lost in the neighborhood. I found this Gem while looking for somewhere new for my Granny and I on our bimonthly outing. This was a great find. Large portion, local and family feel atmosphere, and food was delicious. We will be back.
Lizzie Jones
Great service friendly staff all around! Had the Calamari to start and Gnocchi alla Vodka for main course. Both were fantastic. I recommend dinner reservations as it gets packed!
James Lapossy
This place is excellent. Food was very good and portions were big. They have a huge selection of wine, drinks, bourbon, beer, ect.
Stuart McRay
One of the most fantastic Italian spots in town! The meatball appetizer is delicious as is the chips and dip which is made with salami and pepperoni chips!!! Cocktails were well-made and priced very well atmosphere is top-notch and service was great!
Madison Janosek
Such a great space! Thoughtfully curated menu and Chris was an awesome help to navigate the choices. The shrimp scampi pizza is a must have and the app meatball is the real deal. Will definitely be back.
Ray Owen
I ordered a turkey burger, which tells you right there that I wasn't expecting exciting for lunch. When it came to the table, I thought they messed the order up. It tasted like italian sausage on a pretzel roll. Wonderful flavor. Never would have guessed turkey. My son ordered spaghetti with one meatball, which should be renamed spaghetti with small meatloaf. Huge! When he ordered a fruit punch and it wasn't on the menu, they MADE him a homemade one from real juices. It was so much better. I'll be back.
J&J ledo
All I can say, is this is as close to "KY-Italy" as you can get. The owner cares, the food is prepared wonderfully, explore it, dive into it, swim amongst the flavors! Order a cocktail, it will be crafted well. Tiny complaint, a few hard seats in some booths. This place is FANTASTIC! Highly recommended.
mike smith
First time here. We went tonight for my birthday dinner. Wasn't very busy, but wasn't empty. I was running right on schedule and the rest of the dinner party was already seated. We ordered the savory monkey bread (tonight's creation seemed to have cheese, Italian sausage, and onion stuffed inside) and the toasted ravioli (which half were stuffed with spinach, and the other have were 3 cheese). Both appetizers arrived hot and delicious. I ordered a "house" salad, which was very fresh and full of lots of toppings (kalamata olives, celery, artichoke hearts, red onion, garbanzo beans) and had house made pear vinaigrette on the side. The pear vinaigrette was fantastic. For dinner, I chose one of tonight's specials: Rib eye served over linguine in a Marsala wine sauce with mushrooms (i asked to have them left out), spinach and fresh greens. This was great! The Marsala wine sauce was light and flavorful and the rib eye was cooked perfect. Everyone else at the table ordered: Calamari linguine (another nightly special), baked lasagne, spaghetti & meatball, gnocchi alla vodka, and supremo pizza. Everyone at the table was pleased with their meals and i heard no complaints. We also had some desert. The tiramisu was fantastic! light, airy, and great flavor. My sister, her boyfriend, and my dad had an affogato. They enjoyed their desserts as well.
All in all, a great night with family. Their wasn't one issue, cold meal, problem, or complaint. I can see where Ciao will be one of my favorite places to return to.
David Madden
If you knew me, you would know that focaccia bread, a top shelf olive oil, and pasta are my sinful addictions. I have eaten in some of the best US Italian restaurants. My favorites are located in a section of St. Louis, called "The Hill" and in NY. Ciao Ristorante is not comparable to these but it is much better than most. The main dishes where good, not great. The olive oil and bread where OK. The bread was not fresh. The tiramisu was above average. The cake was dry, kind of like a day old slice. The atmosphere and service where very good.
Muan
Risotto Fattoria for dinner! Delicious and the service was great! The lighting was dimmer than I’m used to at night.
Kipp Bowen
Went with a large group and everyone loved their dishes. I enjoyed the risotto, the lasagna and spaghetti+meatball looked great too. Get the monkey bread while you wait!
Aaron Goodman
Service is great, pizza is meh
Deena Doud
I've only been here a few times, but the food and service are great. Good vegetarian options. Friendly staff. If you like Italian this is a nice chill lunch spot. Good bar selection as well.
Noah Martin
Best food and drink in town. Amazing atmosphere, great workers. Especially that tall bartender. His name is alex, hes got amazing customer service. He makes a great drink, accompanied by great jokes. Real swell guy.
Frank Spanopoulos
If you go there and do not order the Italian Cowboy Cocktail you're missing out! You can thank me later. Overall great experience.
Caleb Johnson
Delicious! Get a reservation to guarantee a seat. Expect to wait an hour for your entrees so buy the monkey bread or another delicious appetizer! Worth the wait. Would be a great spot to take a date.
Courtney Cooley
Food is always so great and my bf and I liked to get an appetizer and entree and share! Love the lighting and staff is friendly but not in your face. Perfect date night spot!!!
Kimberly Porter
My husband and I have been huge fans of Ciao since it opened a few years ago. Every few months they cycle to a new and exciting menu. I recommend the salami and pepperoni chips and dip, as well as their in house gelato. The savory monkey bread is well worth trying.
Mark Jaeger
It's a curious little place, considering that it was once a neighborhood grocery. Definitely fits the shotgun style of it's surroundings. That said, the wine list and the whiskey was a cut above. The food was tasty and the service prompt. And the tiramisu was scrumptious.
Wolf Revels
The mussels we had as an appetizer were terrible. The chef said they were pregnant. They tasted spoiled. Our entrees were good but neither of us were as wowed as we wanted/expected to be. IDK maybe Monday isn't their day?
Jay Martorano
Truly authentic Italian. Czr sald made with ky bibb was excellent. Gnocchi w vodka sauce and homemade Italian sausage was insane!!! Almost everything we tried was really really well made.. the service was very friendly and made us feel welcome. But wasnt extremely knowledgeable. But hey that's what google is for! Also very beautiful interior cant wait for that outdoor space!
Joyce Harmon
Wonderful food and service, always!
Rebecca Scott
Hands down the best Italian restaurant we have ever visited. Amazing food, great atmosphere, nice and helpful staff. Definitely a place to return to and try every item on the menu.
sondramullenix
Food and service was amazing!!! After dinner we got another bottle of wine and sat out back on the couch! Can't wait to go back in the fall and sit by the fire pit!!!
Tom White
This place is the real deal.... I don't think I've seen a menu like theirs since I was actually IN Italy... service was good but they've been forced to close down indoor service but were still serving on the patio which made it a bit of a race to see if I could eat my food before it started going cold. That's not their fault - the illogic of these shutdowns is spectacularly ridiculous - don't even get me started....
Anyway... I know I will be back here for business trips again and this restaurant will be my "go to" spot for Italian cuisine.
nelson auge
Always fun and the food is amazing. Weekend specials are especially well prepared and fresh. Generous portions and great service.
The bar is interesting and staff always offer interesting unique concoctions.
B
Nice...I love the meatballs, monkey bread of the day, and anything the Chef creates. Italian is hard to find in Louisville beyond commercial resturants or secretive stuck up spots. Ciao is inviting and delicious. Be sure to get the tiramisu. It is also good for take out. I still frequent this place.
Ralph Berryman
Excellent service, food and atmosphere! The best Italian I have had in the Louisville area!
Michael Harris
Very fulfilling. Our server was down to earth and gave great recommendations. Took his advice and ordered dessert just because we trusted his 1st recommendation. Visited the table just enough to check in on us.
Ed Flechler
Food is fabulous and service is impeccable. Definitely a place visit.
Kenn “FitzFlaad” Stewart
Recommended by a friend for lunch. Unique interior design and seating. Great service from a friendly staff. Good food made fresh. Good bar. You will not be disappointed dining at Ciao.
Ellen Hudson
Nice dinner but was disappointed that the orecchiette dish was not made with orecchiette; instead a small fusilli with out telling us.
Service too good - entrees arrived before we finished the salad. In the booth there was hardly room for all the plates.
Christina Patrick
We visited with a party of about 12 for my sister's graduation. My sister made a reservation and they had a table ready for us when we got there. The service was great and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend!
Jaclyn Culver
We love the food here - especially the mussels, Caprese salad, lasagna, linguine with clams, margherita pizza, and chicken parmesan. The gelato pour-over with espresso is delicious! Also, the fine cocktails made by Alex are always wonderful! We would recommend the Old Fashioned and the Boulevardier. Service is always top-notch as well!
Robin Moore
Great redo of an old Louisville classic. The recently updated space is casual and unique. The food was great and the drinks thoughtfully prepared. I will be back to try more of the Italian options here.
Vance Riley
I love everything about this place. I love their atmosphere and very courteous and polite staff. Their specialty menu items are to die for! I would recommend this place to anyone. You won't be disappointed and you won't break the bank...
John Slone
Had my daughter's wedding here and it was perfect in every way P.S not the real wedding real one coming after baby is born
Hannah Joellyn Wright
This place is top. The outside seating is lovely; truly authentic & fantastic service. Stu was our server and did a fantastic job!
Michael Cavalcante
Great atmosphere, service, and food. The server recognised us from a prior visit. They greeted us and helped us sit down even though they were not out ultimate help to a great birthday celebration and dinner.
S Craft
Great cozy little place with awesome food. Our server was great as well!
L Jones
Atmosphere is nice as well as wait staff.
Chicken Alfredo is not to be made with penne pasta. The sauce is too light for a heavy pasta. The sauce use a little more flavor. 😔 …
Charlotte Lopez
This place is the best. Ashley (behind the bar) treats us awesome! Food is traditional Italian but done up classy. Prices, I think, are very reasonable.
Jim Stary
Warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and I loved the food.
Karen Lerner
The service and food are excellent. Great value, delicious food large portions. Salad choices are fabulous and unique. Gourmet taste and presentation at moderate pricing.
Michael Dorsey
Amazing experience. You can taste the freshness in the food. The decor is divine. 100% would recommend. Salute 😤✊🏾 …
Ryan Portman
Great food, even better atmosphere. I love seeing the owner and managers out on the floor making it work as well. Great spot for italian, and the booths are kind of romantic.
Daniel Frederick
Great Italian food with a cool atmosphere.
Nick Mueller
Food was good. Covid prevention was top notch. Gelato was superb. They were out of tiramisu, but we were told it's made fresh daily!
Lindsey VanDeMark
Ate here before a concert at Headliners. Had wonderful food and really good drinks. Would go back.
Christa Carey
Seriously THE BEST veggie pizza I’ve ever had. So chunky & garlicy & delicious! You’ll definitely need a fork to eat it, but so good!
Monica O'Connor
Atmosphere was awesome and very accommodating. Portions are big. And will be back to enjoy the bar stools made out of bourbon barrels!
Lor Licata
They check temperatures properly, our waitress was an absolute sweetheart, the fettuccine alfredo is amazing, AND I got a birthday cannolo 😊 …
Kelly Dunn
Very nice food so great its a little dark in there cant really see the menu tjats all but love everything they have
Carissa Wong
Loved the atmosphere and food. Entrees were a bit over priced though for what they were. Also took well over an hour after salads for our dinners to come out because "the kitchen is backed up".
Debbie Thomas
Great food at a fair price. We have been here twice and the food and service have been great both times. Make sure you have the toasted ravoli and the beet salad. Can't wait to go back
Benjamin
Thought it was really good. Didn't feel natural without the Baxter Station train running, but they did a beautiful job with the remodel. Food was decent. Pricing was great.
emile humbert
The calamari was incredible!!! The atmosphere is very laid back and enjoyable. Had a great dinner with my wife here. Will go back again!
Jeff Seale
A little small being in a former factory/storage building (and it still looks like it once was one too), but that's what gives it it's charm. A few TVs in the bar area. Great Italian eats!
Darius Davis
Try the Young Marco Polo. Yes it’s $13 but it’s sooo worth it. Also I had some of the best pan-seared scallops there!!
Maria Fernandez
Our take out experience was great, portion size was large. Lobster ravioli a new favorite.
Mark Campbell
Never disappoints! Great food, nice atmosphere, good service, and excellent lunch specials. You must try the daily Monkey Bread selection when visiting!!!
Robbie Largen
Facility was clean with friendly staff. Stephan was our server and he did an outstanding job.
JoAnne and Masoud Taheri
Wonderful food, service and ambiance! Homemade butternut ravioli so delicious! The tiramasu was also wonderful! So happy we found this restaurant.
Virginia Gerhart
One of the best charcuterie (antipasto) boards we've had in Louisville. Everything was fresh, creative and delicious. Cannot wait to come back!
Darien Barnes
Ciao is a family style Italian restaurant with a lot to offer! Great Amaro and Apertif selection, premier wines, and food for the whole family. Open all week except Sunday, Ciao offers lunch Monday through Saturday as well. Come in and check it out, treat yourself!
Patricia FRANK
Used the on line table reservation, table was available when we walked in. Matt showed us to our table and spent a few minutes talking with when we mentioned it was our first time in. Food was excellent, gnocchi was sooo good. Definitely will be back.
Tamarichka R
Pretty good food, waiter didn't know much about the specialty drinks. The atmosphere is nice though. A bit pricey.
Keisha Smith
A lovely atmosphere but the food was nasty. The Chicken Alfredo sauce was running and my noodles were over cooked. My chicken was rubbery.
Corbin Mader
Food was very good but a little overpriced. Portions are enough to fill you up or take a little home at least. Good atmosphere and perfect for a date night.
Louis E
Great dinner and very friendly waiter. The service was fast and they were able to get us in with no wait by calling ahead at the last minute.
Latanya Turney
Thank you for hosting my Daugther 18th Birthday Dinner with friends. Absolutely wonderful
Crystal Sparks
The staff was friendly, our waiter was on point. Great experience
Michael R
Great food. Had the gnocchi, was cooked perfect. Interesting interior. Service was good, just a little slow.
Joseph Lyons
Excellent Italian menu selection
Tamara Recktenwald
Fantastic experience, Shelby and Debbie were attentive and considerate! The food was very good, must try the meatballs and monkey bread! We will return very soon!
Garrett Weed
Carl our server was great! Food was tasty and atmosphere was very fun and welcoming.
D. West
What an experience!!! Dinner was amazing / the tiramisu was insane / our server was warm, friendly, and accommodating... l can not wait to come back! WOW!!!
Clay Cox
The bar staff is unbelievable at this local italian gem. Ashley delivers an incredible drink menu and Alex is one of the best bartenders around. Try the gnocci and the monkeybread.
Jessica Lutz
