Reviews of Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen - Louisville Airport

You've probably noticed I only review great places. Life's too short to post about something that doesn't hit the mark. I digress. Ever had an amazing airport breakfast for under $5? Well it's possible at this spot. Waffles for $4.99. They are homemade and tasty.
You'd have to get a water to keep it under 5 but you just landed in Kentucky. Today I was offered a shot of Jefferson Bourbon for $6 with my barrel aged beer. I didn't need it, at all. But it's usually about $18 for a shot, so I did the when in Rome thing. Kudos to Jessica who provided great service. Coffee maker was out, just FYI. Highly recommend.

About as good as you can get at an airport. And I’d probably visit them at a non-airport location if they have one. Chicken and waffles were on point. And the fried chicken sandwich was great and comes with the best kettle chips!

They have a huge selection of bourbon, but it can be extremely expensive. The food is good, but it's a really small selection and/or variety. One good thing about this place is that it is before the security checkpoint. So, it is a great spot to wait for people that you're picking up or meeting.
I had the salmon because I was trying to go for a healthier option, but it came with this little fried balls of something (not quite sure what it was). They were really good and I ate them all, so that killed the whole "healthier option" idea.

Awesome bar to drink and eat in while you wait to get on your flight! Loved the ambiance and decor of the place. I ordered the “old fashion” from the drink menu! It was yummy! For a not a bourbon drinker. Great food and desert. Not many in desert choices but the waffle ice cream was amazingly delicious! Sandy our server was super helpful and friendly!

Surprisingly good pub food. Better than what you would expect at the airport. It is before security so it is less convenient but if you have the time it is worth it.

Overall: For an airport restaurant, B&B impresses and is well above the normal fare you may find.
The good: The salad that I got was huge, filling, and had a nice variety of tastes. Apples, chicken, cornbread croutons...it was all good. Paired with the honey cornbread appetizer, and I left ready to nap on the plane. The menu was large enough where everyone will be happy as well.
The not-so-good: The service was fine, but nothing extraordinary. Our waitress oddly asked us to rate the place the best in the airport before we even got our appetizer, which was strange. Additionally, the booths weren't that comfortable and my party definitely felt cramped.
Atmosphere: 8/10
Service: 8/10
Food: 8/10

Amazing Airport Bar - with purse hooks and power strips at every other seat. Not to mention the extensive drink menu (Bourbon especially) with all the Southern Specialty Cuisines (deviled eggs). Cyndi is the delightful cheery Bartender who'll serve you Southern Hospitality with a side of Southern Charm! Delish!

Stopped in for breakfast before passing through security. Service and aesthetics were outstanding. Tried their pecan waffle, which was good - but underwhelming. It was served with pre-packaged big brand syrup, which called into question all the ingredients they used. For the price, I expected more. Aside from the food, there were plenty of bourbon options. My colleagues and I sampled a few and each artisan amber was distinct and smooth. I recommend this place for the bourbon at least.

The service was slow. The deviled eggs were okay. The bee's knees cocktail was good.
The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was nicely decorated.

I'm glad I left Chili's & came back here. The old fashioned was absolutely incredible. Salmon was good, but what I really wanted was steak. If they could add steak this would be 💯! A bit pricey for the drinks but worth it. Give yourself a full hour to enjoy this place, it's not fast food. …
