This is my favorite country diner. The food is always great. Breakfast is exactly what you'd expect. Pies at lunch are great, just make sure you order it when you sit down as they go fast. Also great that you can pick up local and regional produce after you eat, at their produce market.

Great place to eat in north Little Rock. It was not easy to find, and a little run down - but the service And the food was phenomenal. I had the catfish and my wife had the Chicken & Dumplings. I recommend everyone try this place, and remember to order the pie first because when they sell out quick.

I went because it was my coworker's birthday and his father is the company's owner. I could tell that by the way they mentioned it that it was a place they frequented, but I'd never been. When I got there, I realized that it served as both a restaurant and a farmer's market! While that was impressive, the food served in the restaurant side was as equally impressing. I had the catfish meal, which was delicious, but the orders that I'd heard around the table were for chicken and dumplings, beef tips with rice, and country fried steak. I'm interested in the chicken and dumplings because there were three orders called from our table alone while the birthday boy and I had fish meals. We went for lunch and the place was nearly packed! Gotta go again!

Although I've been to the cafe before and enjoyed a delicious takeout breakfast, I didn't go in today. They did have a crowd so that says something about their food. I went to the market for a big sweet watermelon. The owner picked two out for me and said that mine had sweetness leaking from the stem. I got one for me and one for my neighbor. I've only had one bad watermelon from them, but if you bring in the other half, they guarantee you another one. Since I don't bake, I always cube mine and put it in my cake taker. That's the largest thing I have to store all of this sweetness in my refrigerator. I wish I had taken a picture when it was full. When I cut it open, I agree with the owner. #Deliciousness

Everyone who is familiar with the virus panic knows how crazy the large retail stores are. I avoided that today and chose to buy my fresh produce from this market. I had a lovely experience in this quaint setting. There might be 2 buggies in the store, but you can be confident in the produce. They done have lots of tropical fruits outside of oranges and lemons, but it was well-stocked otherwise. Where else can you find Amish Stlye Roll Butter! They also made me feel at home. Very friendly.

Food is amazing as always!!! Servers are friendly and very nice.... The woman at the cash register on July 11, 2022 is the reason for the review. She was extremely rude and slammed the receipt down as well as the phone. This was at 12:34 pm and it was the elderly woman at the register. I love this place but her attitude makes me not want to come back. Hopefully her attitude changes soon!!!!

Chicken and Dumplings were super! Order the Egg Custard Pie early because it might be all sold out after you eat. Take it to go if you're too full. Deviled Eggs were just like mine. Cornbread muffins were perfect and divine with the Lima Beans. Sweet tea is always fresh and potent! Service is a lot more friendly these days, now that that cranky older server is gone!

It's pretty rare that you can get a restaurant that is fast, serves good food and at a great price. BJ's market Cafe is all three.

It doesn't appear to be a great place but don't let that fool you. The food is good and hot and reasonably priced. Servers are pleasant and helpful. They have a store where you can buy some market items including meat and bacon. Only thing they need to improve on is their dessert. The lemon icebox needs more lemon. Same goes for the coconut pie, needs more coconut flavoring in the actual pie. Plenty of yummy meringue though.

There is a green house next door to the cafe and they have the most beautiful plants. If you're doing container gardening or even want flowers for your yard this place is great. You need to check it out

Mercy. I can't say much about lunch, as I've never had the pleasure, but I can address breakfast. I showed up today and had a sausage, egg, and cheese omelette and when they brought it I about fell over. Could easily have fed three people. Good service, great food, reasonable price. You can't go wrong here.

BJ's Market Cafe is an established restaurant and Market which has been in operation for decades. The food is very reasonable in price and is home-style food with daily specials. The food is well prepared and tasty. The waitstaff is personable and friendly. This is a long standing gathering place for locals.

My siblings and I met there, coming from different directions because it was near I-40 and had great ratings. The service was fantastic. Couldn't ask for better. The menu was good. They all had catfish and shrimp and loved it. I had lasagna, which was pretty terrible, basically soup and served in a bowl because of it. But, my beans and broccoli were good, as was the yeast roll and "possum pie," a variant of layer delight. Their breakfast was still being served as we arrived and it looked great, too. Highly recommend, just not the lasagna, ever.

This is a great concept, business model. Right in the heart of a cluster of small businesses. Location advantage! Great tasting breakfast and lunch options. Hard working local folks meeting another day. It a no miss menu, but everyone asks for the housemade sausage patties. A bunch of fast moving, hard working, friendly ladies to take your order.

This place is a nice little place the food was good however; when we arrived it was 10:30 and we had been driving all the way in from Houston, TX in a Uhaul full of medical equipment that we were hauling to Memphis. I had read the breakfast reviews and really wanted to eat some pancakes! We sat down about 10:34 and the waitress threw our silverware onto the table. I asked about breakfast and her response was “These days breakfast is stopped serving at 10:30!” I looked at my phone and it was 10:36! I almost asked to speak to management but instead would like to write this review for the world to see. If your a local I’m sure they cater to you but if your passing threw looking for pancakes try “I Hop”!! I won’t be returning!

Food was delicious! Fantastic breakfast, great coffee (never got cold as they kept it refilled). I had a two egg scrambler with all the veggies and it was fantastic. Other people I was with had the pecan pancakes, biscuits and gravy, fried bologna, bacon egg and cheese sandwich as well as hashbrowns, sausage, bacon, etc. Everyone said the food was delicious and we will definitely be back! The place was absolutely packed on a Saturday morning, so there was a little bit of a wait on the food after we had ordered, but it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend this place for breakfast!

Wonderful Breakfast and Lunch. Good home cooking.....but so sad 😢 they are no longer open on Saturdays! After all of their hard work to do curbside during the pandemic, they can't get enough staff to work on Saturdays. I work during the week so I can't do breakfast there on week days.....here's hoping things turn around & they are open again on Saturdays.

I went here with some friends from work. They recommended the fried pork chops which I had never had before and they were great. The whole place seemed nice and comfortable. I'm glad I got a chance to try the pie too because it was delicious. I'm going to have to bring my family here because I'm sure they'd love it as much as I did.

The service was excellent, the food was GOOD! I had the fish and shrimp & 2 sides for around $14.00. It was one of the Friday night specials. I understand they are usually open for breakfast and lunch, and the only night they are open is on Fridays. They had a 2 man band there tonight which was a bonus. It's not a fancy place but we enjoyed it. We will be back.

Great place for Saturday breakfast. It is available until 2 p.m. The gravy(with pieces of sausage)and biscuits are outstanding. The bacon and sausage are so tasty. Big cups of great coffee. Friendly folks and top-notch service. By the way, try the burger for lunch.

My dad loves this place because he gets a lot of food for a cheap price. I'm not so impressed. Although the pancakes are huge, they are not that tasty. I'm told they have good biscuits and gravy, if you like carbs covered in grease sauce, a.k.a. death on a plate! Tried this place twice, won't go go back there again, unless dad in paying :-)

Visited BJ's for the first time today and will try to put it on my list of regular lunch stops. I had the smoked chicken lunch special with sides of cabbage and fried okra, all of which was delicious. The cornbread and yeast rolls were superb as well. Was most impressed with the impeccable service we received from our young waitress. Really good all round, and you can drop in next door and buy some fresh produce to carry home.

We had catfish, chicken & dressing, pinto beans, and broccoli casserole. Fish was pretty good but other dishes were overly salty. The booth seats are really worn out, so take a table. The servers were friendly and attentive. Must say that the breakfast pork chops (fried) were delicious on my first visit.

Simple food done right...that sounds easy but not everyone seems to understand this recipe for deliciousness as BJ's does. You will want to keep eating even after you get full because it is just that tasty. The deserts are such a temptation but the farmers market next door is a must for fresh produce. Visited for breakfast Saturday morning, it was mostly full with friendly faces and tye setting was very comfortable. The service was very friendly and our food came fast, but the food, the food is out of this world. BJ's breakfast is incredible. The produce market in the same building also has ripe, fresh fruits and vegetables. The tomatoes, peaches, and watermelon all were perfect, and locally sourced from independent farmers so that's a plus for me.
