Reviews of Nightmare Cafe
Julie Roos
We originally came here thinking it would be a fun space given the gimmick, but the food is what brought us back. Their homemade biscuit is to die for. Their chicken is consistently juicy and their sides are fun.
When we came for Valentine's Day, they had a prix fixe menu that was incredibly well-priced. They did initially act like they might turn us away because we didn't have a reservation, but the space was consistently 3/4 empty while we were there, so that's the difference between 4 and 5 stars on the service. Actual table service has always been lovely and attentive.

Such a great theme! I love how the theme plays into the menu as well. It's definitely a neat place to check out for the fun of it. The food is alright. I got the Dead Heat (spicy) chicken sandwich and Shirley's Haunted Temple. Both items were decent. The house fries were absolutely delectable.

I have been seeing Nightmare Cafè all over my instagram & as a self proclaimed horror junkie you know I had to check it out, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!
My husband and I finally made it in last night, the art and decor was great (really love the graffiti art on the walls)
Service was fast with super friendly chill staff, talkitave and excited about their work place. (I think that speaks volumes on the establishment and ownership, after working in food industry myself.)
Now as for the food? AMAZING! Usually you go to themed restaurants, you expect the quality to be mediocre, but not here, it was actually GREAT!
My husband had the Poultrygeist, we're still dreaming of that mac'ncheese and crispy chicken. I had the Sorority-po boy, which was the best po boy ive ever had outside of Louisiana. Also the fries, I dont know what they did to get a french fry so full of flavor but some how they did.
We really enjoyed our meals, nothing felt greasy or heavy its almost like a home cooked meal...but better.
Now for the drinks, obviously we had to try some signature spoopy cocktails to go along with our meal. The Mr. had the Beetlejuice and I got the not yet listed Purple People Eater, loved the presentation with the skull picks & spider rings, both were super delicious and STRONG! Not to mention the happy hour is from 3-7, so we also grabbed some long Islands also delicious.
I just want to say thank you to the front of house staff, cooks & bartenders, ya'll are great! We very much look forward to becoming regulars.
Tdlr: We left nice and full, kind of tipsy, and VERY happy!
-Stay Spooky Friends!

I stopped by this place just because it looked cool as I passed by it. I came in and had the "666" drink special which was a shot of tequila and any beer I chose, along with the burger. The burger could have had some more spice too it but was still pretty damn tasty! The horror theme overall was super cool too! Definitely going to have to come back to this place again.

If you love nostalgia, then you will love this place. Right next door to nightmare toys is the nightmare cafe. I met here for a business lunch and was very pleased with everything about this place. The food is fantastic and has a lot of personality just by itself. Our server Sahara, was wonderful and very intentive. The menu items have cool names based on all our favorite horror movies a generations past. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.
Note however, they do not accept cash so make sure you're card is ready.
If you are in the area please do yourself a favor and check this place out.

If you are into the Halloween theme then you'll definitely have a blast. A lot of interesting Easter eggs and of course the menu is themed too. So the food and cocktails were okay. The service was as good as can be all up until I was trying to find my server to ask for the bill. But the place was pretty busy so I'm not faulting anyone for that. Downtown recently decided that paid parking is required but not the business' fault. I'd rather give my money to the bar than the city to graciously allow me to park.

I’m from out of town and needed to find a place with home cooking…this place has amazing food and the size was impeccable! I would highly recommend eating here and looking at all the cool decorations!

A fun horror Film themed restaurant, the staff was very attentive & friendly. The menu's (food & drinks) are fun using various classic & newer Horror Films. There is a fee for the street parking.

INCREDIBLE! Best meal I’ve had as a Vegas local in the 8 years I’ve lived here.
James took excellent care of us at the bar. The cocktails are to die for (ha), and the food was the epitome of scrumptious. They really ran with the horror theme and we can’t wait to come back with more family & friends.
This is an authentic Vegas establishment that can’t be missed!

My wife and I finally had the chance to stop by! This place is very cute and spooky. Definitely loved the look and the vibe. They carry vegan options which is super rad! It specifies on the menu what is vegan or which items can be made vegan, which was super helpful. My wife had "The Fungus" and she enjoyed it. I had the black bean patty and it was okay, nothing special about it. If I'm being honest. We also ordered a corn appetizer, "Corn Ribs." They were able to make it vegan which was really cool. We really liked it! It was tasty. The fries were really good, a really nice texture. They also made my wife a mocktail with ginger beer and pineapple, which I thought was really nice. She liked the taste as well. Our server was nice and the food came out at an appropriate time. We are definitely coming back to try out the other vegan options. It's nice to have a horror themed place locals can visit. :)

It was an overall decent experience for dinner. My wife order the Blair Waffle Project with Midnight waffles, but unfortunately they ran out of dye. Disappointing. The waffles themselves were tasty. Her chicken tenders, as well as the kids, were overcooked, dry, and tasteless. Very disappointing. My Chicken in the Woods was pretty good. The fries were awesome; wife and kids loved them. Service was mediocre considering there were only two other people inside. We had to wave down our server for mustard and refills on water. Extremely disappointing. We were NOT asked if we were locals for a discount, which we are. Would I go again and was it worth $60? If I knew that our chicken would not be dry and out server be more attentive, then yes. If not, never again.

Nightmare Cafe was a dream! It is a Horror themed restaurant with unique food and drinks. We had Bloody Carries that were delicious! Our server was super nice and knowledgeable. The food was so delicious! Everything on the menu sounded great, it was a tough choice. Nothing like eating while watching slasher clips 🤣. We will definitely be back!!
Spiritual Goddess
The food was unique and good flavor. The atmosphere is fun but very loud so hard to hear if anyone is not right next to you. The service was awesome! Fun cocktails.

I was hoping to be impressed by this cafe. Basic bar food, with fun horror themed names. Our server Tony A. did well with a table of 17. It was a birthday party. Prices are a little high for a burger $17. Of course that could be the new norm. Deep Star shrimp was good. Drinks were themed also. Avg price $15. Lemon drop was yummy. We were not informed of 18% gratuity. Everyone tipped an additional 20%. Looked it up after and found out 18% goes to restaurant not server. That is not good. I hope it went to the server. We were there 2hr 30 min. One couple came in after us and sat at bar. One group of three was there when we got there. Otherwise, no other traffic on a Friday night. All in all, it was not worth it. My party of two, shrimp (15) drink (15) 2 burgers (34) mac n cheese (9) and dessert (10) auto gratuity (19)+ tip to server (15)= $121
Not good for large parties unless, you're used to steakhouse prices.

We visited Nightmare cafe for lunch. It is a fun venue. The names of the dishes and cocktails are creative.
The service was great. The food was good & the cocktails were delicious. We plan on going for dinner in the near future.
Gregory Dark
Nice little place. Service and atmosphere were great. They have a juke box and scary decorations. My little one picked out something from the kids menu and ate everything.
It's in an area of town that will likely require a parking meter.
Alternatively, you could find another spot further away and take a walk. There are a lot of small shops in the area.
Shelby Wildeman
Very unique restuarant with an interesting menu. I loved the names of the dishes on the menu. We were also very happy with our waitress Vanessa. She was very friendly and quick and did a great job helping us decide what to order.

Definitely to die for 😈and one for the books when in Vegas 🎰 its nightmare come true. Highly suggest getting the Blair waffle project or the

I went to get the Blair Waffle Project I’ve seen all over their instagram account, I was excited to get the black waffles but our bartender asked me if I had a shellfish allergy prior to me ordering which I do, and although it was a let down to not get the black waffles I appreciate the diligence to make sure before letting me order them. Looks aside I was served normal chicken and waffles to work around the allergy but the waffles were super soft and fluffy and the chicken was hot and fell apart easily while still having a good crunch on the outside. Our bartender made pleasant conversation with us and even offered to give us to go waters before we left. I’m happy to have a place in town that reflects my interests, has great food, and great service.

Didn't get a chance to eat, we went to check it out and just catch the vibe. Decor is great, staff was friendly. Only thing I will warn is they are a cashless cafe... (Kinda cuts money but hey, their choice😉🤙) they didn't have allot of food cause they got bombarded the night before but I'll go back to check it out again eventually.
Glenda King
The food and service was awesome - fresh, delicious and very filling. The Deepstar shrimp made me moan outloud and the fried okra made me sing and want to dance. They may have to add a dance space. The Sea Beast was pleasantly smooth and comforting - who doesn't like a great taco... I loved that I could not finish it all. Poor me... Guess I'll have to eat fantastic leftovers tomorrow.
Jessie Garcia
Very cool new spot in the Arts District. Great food and drinks. Great service. Awesome decor. Definitely gonna come here regularly.

The other reviews reflect the crazy busy weekend Nightmare Cafe had due to the When We Were Young festival when they were swarmed with especially sad emos on Saturday 10/22 after the festival was unexpectedly cancelled for the day (I was one of them). This cafe is very new and I’m sure they were not expecting everyone coming in on Saturday.
In regards to the drinks, their cocktails were amazing. I’d suggest trying the Purple People Eater! I love cocktails with lavender in them. Spencer was an awesome bartender. Their garlic and herb fries were to die for.
I came a second time on my way to the airport. If I come back to Vegas, I’d definitely come back to Nightmare Cafe!
Kody Kozak

First time here and honestly the theme and music are absolutely amazing, but the service and food are even better! Spencer the bartender rules, and the Chainsaw Chili is FIRE!
Benjamin Edmond
Great atmosphere here. Very unique experience. The food is good but watch out for the deviled eggs. One of the six you have to look out for. HOT!!!
Jordan Hayes
Stopped in an didn't have high expectations because the place is new, but was I wrong. Loved everything about it. A few kinks to fix here and there but otherwise still a cool place to dine.

Local here born n raised and came with extreme excitement for the food...I ordered the Blair waffle project and the chicken was super dry and my waffles didn't even come out black..also didn't realize the nachos were supposed to be loaded when I seen an older picture what a ripoff.... didn't get a water refill for a long timeee. The atmosphere is a win but the food and service was sadly a no.

So the family and I finally made our way to Horror Cafe and it was great. We called ahead to reserve a table, however, once we walked in we were seated right away. The whole concept was pretty kool. The staff was amazing, the food was spectacular and the environment was killer. They played a lot of 90s rock, so the wife and I really enjoyed that part. We didn't get a chance to try out the toy store next door but we will on our next visit. Also, parking is located right outside on the street for an 1$ per hour.

My kid is playing in a music festival and we had a little break so we decided to grab some lunch, the kid has had their chicken and fries before and really liked them, so I figured why not cruise by, right? Waited over half an hour for 5 chicken fingers and 3 sliders. Cost a little over 30 bucks. Now we're in a time crunch to get back to the theater, she's opening her box to scarf down a little and asks where's the fries, I call them and ask and the response is "they don't come with it anymore, the price of chicken has gone up". The issue I have is the menu clearly states voodoo chicken comes with house fries, it's states it right on their website. So $16 for 5 chicken tenders, that's just crazy. The menu should accurately reflect what you're getting for your hard earned money. The sliders had about a tablespoon, MAYBE, of meat. Between the wait time, price and inaccurate menu alone I wouldn't recommend this place, go ahead and add in zero personality. I decorate my home better on Halloween, in my humble opinion. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking that advertising something that says you're going to receive these items for this amount and not honoring that is called false advertising. Just saying...
Edit-Chicken batter falls off as soon as you try to pick them up and are SUPER greasy and rubbery. Slider meat is dry as ever.
Paul Seiwald
Cool spot, great vibes and artwork! Love a place where it can be Halloween year round with some BOMB food.
We came here for brunch, can't wait to see what else they offer for dinner and such!
Danielle Swayze
Spencer was an absolute gem. Thanks again for recommending food and drinks. My girl and I will be back soon she wore the pink jumpsuit 🤍
Nicolle Pretell
Garlic fries are the way to go. I wish I could eat them with every meal. And the Blair Waffle Project is Amazing. The special syrup and the strawberry slices along with the chicken and waffles is genius. I will be back.
Kenton Morrison
Dispointed. My house looks scarier on Halloween, was expecting nightmare. Only a few props which I have already. Freddy Krueger is scarier then scream so I would have had that prop in there as well. Catfish was bland no flavor, the sliders were dry, garlic fries were great! The drinks were not great didn't finish them mules had a funky after taste and they don't muddle old fashions. Service was awesome sucks employees have to pay to park to work.
