Reviews of Makino
Jessica Martinez
Japanese all you can eat sushi buffet, offers a huge raw and cooked sushi selection, fresh, cold salads, and hot soups, and very tasty dessert treats. Customer service was great, very clean environment and atmosphere. This is one of the best places I have ever had of of the best sushi! 10/10
Steve Uscio
I have been going to Makino's for many years. It's is a Japanese/Hawaiian cuisine. The service is second to none. It is a all you can eat buffet with one trip/serving of crab legs. Over all the food area is a well organized and well maintained buffet. Many items for all ages. Great place to dine if you are hungry. My recommendation is to be very hungry and be ready to eat. Great place but a little pricey.

I stopped in here on my Nationwide trip for my hiking YouTube channel called "Beyond the Pavement". Check it out 😃 Sushi was really good along with everything else. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Fair price. …

The food at this sushi restaurant are great. The salad section uses seasonal fresh vegetables. There are many varieties of sushi in the sushi area, and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. The Creme Brulee, Brownies and Tiramisu in the dessert section were delicious, so my dinner was very fulling. Personally I don't think this sushi restaurant is friendly to people who are trying to lose weight because the food is so delicious that one cannot control one's appetite.😆😆😆

The best Japanese buffet in Las Vegas! All you can eat Seafood, Sushi, Noodle soup and Japanese food items with regular desserts. My family and I love to eat and try out new food places. You'll know it by going through my reviews in Google Map. And Yes! This buffet is The best. I would say this buffet easily beats some of the high named expensive Vegas buffets. We went for dinner which started from 5:30pm and cost $40 each adult. First of all, this buffet is very clean. Then I would like to mention the servers/waitresses. Especially "Sarah" who was our waitress. In general all the waitresses are very attentive, polite, helpful and hard working people. They made our experience much more enjoyable. The quality of each and every dish is supreme with a very good and unique taste. Usually buffet Sushis are lump sum made but NO! This buffet takes extra care for their Sushi making like their other dishes. Each Sushi stands out with flavor, look, smell and taste. They also make (limited numbers) Sushi by order as you want from the menus. Then comes their noodle soup/ Tonkatsu bar. The master chef will make your noodle soup/ Tonkatsu as you want it. And, every time it is awesomely made with thick or clear broth. At last but not least I want to mention their veggie, fruit salad and dessert items. Even though they look regular but trust me they are of supreme quality and yummy. Their sitting area, tables, utensils, plates, restrooms are very clean. Highly recommend and a must go buffet in Las Vegas if you love Japanese dishes, sea food and Sushi. We would sure go there every time we go to Vegas.

After watching YouTube videos I was excited to come. But it was not what I expected. For my experience, the food was slow to be refilled. The taste was not fully fresh. Was alittle tight in the restaurant. Not worth the price of $27 for lunch on a weekday.
Steve Valenti
I have eaten here many many times. I have Japanese friends that love coming here because there is such a wide variety of great food. It's been over a year since I've been here, and they have raised their prices quite a bit, and yet the quality of the food has not changed at all, nor the cafeteria style staff just constantly picking up dishes and the service carts are everywhere to throw the dishes and scraps and stuff in. The feeling is just such a casual cafeteria style buffet, but the pricing is not. Everybody in my party definitely left very very full and happy.
Volhound (Volhound)
My family loves this place. The food is so good! Love the sushi options! Even their desserts are good! Price is a little high, but you can totally get your money's worth from eating lots of sushi.
Amina TRBL99
I've been to this place 3 times since the new year ! All you can eat see food/ Japanese cuisine , best buffet I've been to in a long time ! The only downfall is prices may change without prior notice.
DanB Cooley
Very good and very large buffet. The sushi selection is awesome. Ambience is great and all employees are cordial. The shrimp tempura and beso fish are excellent. The seafood pancakes are burned. There could be more starch. Other than udon and oily fried rice there was no more carbohydrate. The small salad bar was haphazard. Prices are through the roof: $25 for midday. All in all, a very good eating experience.
Eric Picasso
Get there at 11:30 when they open. Well worth the $26.99 for lunch. Huge selection and extremely fresh.
Christopher Arriola
We were looking for a buffet and stumbled here. Overall it was ok, I mean we weren't all that delighted. We ate on a Wednesday night. Sucks there wasn't crab legs. The staff was nice and very attentive
The cons:
-Limited amount of food
-No crab legs Mon-Thurs
-$40 per head Fri-Sun
-The fresh oysters are not fresh at all. It's very different from a fresh one. Taste is horrible
-Calamari is not calamari but sauted squid
-fried oysters are not that good
-The pork katsu was not good. It was hard and rubbery
-Fried chicken was hard and rubbery
-Fried rice was horrible
-Green tea ice cream taste is way off from green tea. I felt it was like something with green food coloring
The pros:
-$35 per head Mon-Thurs
-Miso soup is good
-The stuffed opened shrimp was good
-For me the highlight was the shrimp and vegetable tempura. Those were delicious.
-SOME of the sushi wasn't bad.
-Fondue with marshmallow was cool
-Green tea cake with red beans wasn't bad
Nadya T
Good food. For me is very important if I can have vegetables and salads and this place has nice variety to choose from.
I enjoyed.
Christopher Nee
Good overall AYCE sushi and Japanese restaurant. Due to popularity of this place, foods are usually fresh and hot as appropriate. You can also get basic custom handroll here. Good overall value.
Kimberly H
First time here, off the strip, pricey, but it’s seafood. Food was average, but there were a lot of options, seemed clean, server was ontop of keeping our drinks full and table clean. Tons of parking outside, lots of seating inside. Got so full we didn’t have a chance to try the desserts
Elizabeth Lee
Pretty good for all you can eat sushi buffet. Crab was also good. Nice selection of other Japanese dishes - ramen, udon, terriyaki chicken, terriyaki beef, issues, tempura both shrimp and vegetables, steamed vegetables, Chinese broccoli, fried oysters, seaweed, Cesar salad, tomatoes salad. Also, had a chocolate fountain, with assorted deserts and ice cream and fruits.
Pretty busy, so advise coming right when they open to get seated.
Darren W. Matheson
Unpretentious Japanese buffet. Sushi was delicious. So many fun favors! Each piece was different, unlike at other sushi buffets where they all taste the same with a slight variation. Reasonably priced. Staff was super kind and friendly. We were delighted to find this buffet. We will be back.
Rita Moncayo
We came here very hungry, the people are nice, but an unusual amount of the food wasn’t fresh. Then when we were trying to get desert to get our moneys worth there was smoke coming from the AC and everyone had to leave the building. Unfortunately we paid before the smoke started coming. Definitely not worth it.
Frederik Ijff
Japanese buffet and aesome sushi. Must visit. Highly recommended.
Nilay Chakraborty
A hidden gem. Delicious food. Huge buffet spread with so many different seafood options. And all quality and fresh. Also if you are a sushi lover, this is paradise. All you can eat. Great service... Everything at a very reasonable price.
Harry
Packed on a Thursday for lunch. Great selection of sushi and hot food. Salad and dessert bar decent with lots of freshness! Locals patronize this place so you know it's good.
Mo Myke
Haven't been in awhile cool place buffet style lots of fresh foods n desserts. Rolls were good and decent crab legs. Service fast n place seemed clean as lots of kitchen staff around. Could use some music tho. Single hot sake $5
Jangles B
Fast friendly service the waitresses are the best around and the selection of sushi 10+. Will definitely go back very filling and worth the price. Our party of three adults(drinks not included) total was $87.62 that includes tax. All you can eat buffet. Crab legs were only available for dinner. I also think it was limited and not all you can eat.
Michael Lee
Great Sushi buffet. Been going since it opened (24 years). Almost a Vegas tradition. Handrolls to order. Crab legs and chocolate fountain at nite. Very extensive cut rolls and nigri 🍣 to choose from plus Sashimi (mostly red tuna). Friendly drink servers/ bus girls, though busy. Original location and the only one left. Good hot food, specialty salad, udon bar and dessert sections. Madhouse on weekend. Parking is murder.
Mark Hall
Fantastic restaurant. Friendly staff, great value. The sushi was fantastic and the baked prawns to die for. Best meal we have had in vegas.
SEAN CHANG
I’ve been here couple times whenever I visited Las Vegas. It went down a bit during COVID period. Yesterday, I saw it increased price and had zero expectation BUT quality of food and taste is super. Can’t compare to the past!! AWESOME!!
C Joy Carmelo
We were seated after a few minutes of waiting. The spread was excellent and they tasted yummy from the sushi, baked shrimp, oysters and desserts. The coffee jello's cream could use more sugar though. The service was warm and Aika anticipated our needs. She kept on refilling our drinks and the cleanup was quick too. We'll definitely dine again!
KD
In my opinion this place far exceeded standards amongst all local buffet's in Vegas excluding those inside the Casino resorts. I highly recommend Makino buffet to anyone. The salad bar are amazing and deliciously fresh veggies... not old looking even all the seasoning and dressing are very goid. The sushi bar are not just rolls and it's a lot of hand rolls and sashimi's cut are beyong my expectations not cheap or rip-off. The asian food side of the house are also delicioys esp the yakisoba noddles (not some cheap lo mein or chow mein), ramen noddles w/ four different flavors and they even have japanese bbq ribs. Last thing, the dessert section far exceeded my standards. By the way this is during lunch (12-2pm when I came) however, it felt like they already served dinner menu...outstanding!!
Service 1000% happiness
Cleanliness 1000% open concept
Food 1000% delicious
Budget 1000% affordable
Thank you Makino and More Power!!
Jayson Munoz
I never leave hungry here. Staff wait is very accommodating even when I'm not. I have to start dessert first or else I won't have room.
Tatyana S
They food is very good. So many great choices. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because their green tea cake was rather dry.
Brandy Schrader
Absolutely fantastic place to eat! The food was delicious and fresh, the staff were all super friendly and extremely attentive. Sushi, crab legs, sashimi, vegetables, ribs, desserts and more!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi. It gets crowded pretty quick, but there is still plenty of food to go around.
George Taylor
Awesome price, good food. The place was packed and we enjoyed our diner the service is very good and I really do not understand the bads reviews because we enjoyed our diner and everything was tasty and fresh. Good job keep it up. I recommend the place.
Remo Dela Cruz
The quality has definitely gone down from where it was before. Seafood is still somewhat fresh but definitely can use some improvements. Overall, not a bad buffet for the price.
jazzin tyme
Went on a Sunday, with table reservation @ 11:30AM. Best time to go. Place got better..more relaxed with less people 70max capacity. You don't get your own food now-sort of...you just go to the line, and just tell the server on the other side of buffet table what you want and they will put it on a plate for you. MAKINO is still our best bet for a buffet -fresh sushi, variance of foods, real ice creams such as green tea, mango, strawberry and vanilla (they used to have a red-bean flavor though) and of course our favorite-the best tempura ever!!! Oh and did i mention they upgraded their flooring to vinyl/hardwood type which makes it neater?...would recommend this place..only wished they are located in a better location, like the Southwest area...
rachelle hallmark
I was super skeptical about this place at first. We had a reservation for 9 at 5:30 and when we pulled up there was a ton of people already waiting. We were seated quickly and we all filled our plates. It was amazing. It was really good, they had allot of options but I stuck to the sushi and hand rolls. We were so full and happy when we left. We will be back!! Many more times!! It was 44.95 per person and you only got one ticket for one crab leg cluster but it was worth it.
Vinh Tran
This place was ok, the servers were nice but nothing stood out to me here. Sushi was ok.
jack z
Exceptionally clean, incredible variety of sushi and seafood.
One of the best buffets in Vegas
SK
Food was awesome. Enjoyed each and every sushi. Staff was really polite and friendly. Buffet was worth to its price.
Veerit Ubolkaew
Fantastic Japanese buffet good bang for your buck food was delicious
Victor Leon
It’s an all you can eat place (sea food) kind of self service… Food is good. You pay $46, and enjoy everything. The only restriction is crab legs (only one per person) and beverages (additional cost). It’s excellent for people who eat a lot! You seat, eat and leave!
Cathy Kerins
My "other" mother and I discovered this place 20+ years ago. So amazing!!! We'd come in from California and this would be the first place we'd go.❤️
Mikki S
Good food and great selection of sushi rolls. King crabs are available only for dinner.
D. Green
I liked everything except the sushi. I was expecting it to be the other way around, but the truth is I enjoyed the Teriyaki Beef, Tempura, Noodle Salad, Green Mussels, and various other items much more than the nigiri and rolls. I got a slimy slice of tuna, and the taste and texture was not there.
The dessert selection was pretty awesome (See photo). I loved the lemon tart!
Conclusion:
If you are craving sushi, go to any of the 20-30+ all you can eat places in Vegas. There are many, many AYCE sushi places. If you have kids with you and your spouse, Makino is probably a better choice, especially if they're squirrely like our boys. There is a good variety at Makino.
My favorite items:
Beef Teriyaki, Lemon Tart.
Lindsay Long
Sushi, Hand Roll, fresh seafood, salads, grill shrimp/beef & the menu goes on. All yummy for the tummy.)l)
Huong Huynh
We ate mostly the sushi, because everything else was not tasty. The udon was good. The tonkotsu and shoyu ramen were so salty I had to mix it with the udon broth.
The Accidental Cook
Makino is an all you can eat buffet that has a fabulous array of seafood delights including but not limited to fresh sushi. They also offer cooked asian fare such as bbq pork ribs and vegetable tempura among others. They also have a decent dessert bar with a chocolate fountain. The Almond lace cookies are by far my favorite. But A WORD OF ADVISE.. Please DO NOT attempt to take any photographs of their food unless u want to get YELLED AT by an older gentleman wearing a chef's jacket. RUDE! Its too bad coz i was willing to post the more pictures of the awesome food laid out for their patrons to sample.
Dash With Ash
This got to be the best Japanese place in Las Vegas! The quality of their sushi is literally as good if not better than most places here. I go there at least once or twice a week to get my fix. The staff is super nice and accommodating! Keep up the good work guys 😋😋😋 …
Kaitlyn Hitesman
Loved the sushi and staff was nice though seemed overwhelmed by having to plate everyone's food for them, most of the food was cold or room temperature though which kinda sucked.
Jeff Jacoby
This is our "go to" spot in Vegas when we're craving sushi (all-u-can-eat). Everything is always fresh and clean. There's a lot more than just sushi and sashimi too. Chicken, salmon, crab legs, corn on the cobb, beef short ribs, noodles, fried rice, tempura shrimp and veges, desert and more! You will leave stuffed!
Brian Plutschack (Plutsch)
Great selection and variety of food. Better than a casino buffet we tried.
Stan Dela Cruz
Good food. Friendly and attentive wait staff. When you consider Vegas must have the best buffets in the country, this one is right on par!
amanda jean canlas
They’ve got varieties of seafoods and sushi. And desserts. Reasonable price for a buffet lunch. Good cx service. 👍👍 clean place. Makino decatur, Las Vegas …
Jesus Lopez
This is one of my favorite places in Vegas. I've been told told there are better Japanese buffets in Vegas, but this one is close to my heart. Friendly staff that always makes me feel like I am home
Kevin Ko
Inexpensive and better than Vegas hotels' buffets. If you could drive a small distance I would recommend here instead of hotel buffets. Wait is a lot less and I personally think their food quality is better. Lots of sushi and roll choices, salads, soups, noodles, dinners and desserts are served. Workers might not be fluent in English.
RENZO LANDA
dinner on the weekend highly recommended . it is pricy but very worth it. $45.99 per adult includes a portion of crab .
everything fresh and very tasty. coming back again for sure!
Ma Leonora
I know now why it's tag one of the Best Buffet in Las Vegas. If you are a Seafood and sushi lover like me, You'll definitely enjoy dining here. Fresh Oysters are the bomb! A lot of seafood and Salad selection, Deserts are not to miss! Price starts at about $30 not sure on other times of the day but it's worth it!
Alejandro Garcia Ruiz
Good price its $ only Oriental food
Jeniffer Morales
Food was pretty good. Lots of sushi choices. Creme Brulee was delish. Seafood soup was a bit spicy for me, which doesn't take much. Overall good value. Ladies were all very nice.
Edi Mora
Food is good but they are still charging as if they are still serving crablegs. No more crablegs ladies and gentlemen. Too pricey just for sushi
Liane Motoyama
The food was a little bland, but the sushi 🍣 was good. Service was very prompt and attentive. Overall it was a good experience.
Mason Espinoza
The sushi was good and service was great. But the noodles with fried rice wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Cheesecake was great along with the ice cream , the chicken was good asking with the pasta shrimp. Overall very good place and would like to go back.
Jen Malone
Was once my favorite restaurant, moved away and tried it on vacation. Not quite as good as I remembered. Shorter hours and almost double the price. It was a special occasion, and we did enjoy he meal. Great selection of sushi.
Ramsey Carillo
Very good nice selection of sushi, first time here and we will be coming back, worth it, not good with plate placement I was just hungry lol
Simon T Katan
I know this place already 15 years, every tine that i visit Las Vegas, i stoped and eat here. The sushi is great, as akways fresh. Keep on going.
Kazuki
All you can eat by $25 or so!
This is awesome Japanese place
Aaron Medina

Richard Salcedo
First time visiting from Dallas tx .and we love this restaurant. Food was excellent and service phenomenal. I will recommend this restaurant .
Chris Shaul
Better than a lot of Asian buffets. Decent sushi, but the cooked food was best. Especially liked the tempura.
Bob Zhong
If you like seafood and sushi, this place is the one. Delicious food and comfortable environment, highly recommended.
Quy Bao
Good service 👍 but, foods were just average nothing really stands out
Myung Kim
Food is very good. Bathroom could use new painting.
Snaple Jojolah
All you can eat. Nice ppl, and huge variety OF great sushi. Also a dessert bar with a chocolate fountain.
Kat S
Great variety. Sushi, Noodles, Soup, Tempura, something for everyone. You won't leave hungry or disappointed, if you love Japanese food.
Tiberius B
Pretty good selection of food here. The place was clean and staff really helpful and accommodating.
GPM Fuel Tabs
Great Japanese buffet..all you can eat fresh sushi..god food plenty salads..all fresh aforable prices.
Aviator Extraordinaire
It was good but pricey. Sign on the door said no crab because of increase in price but no discount for not having what we came for.
Ricardo “Rick”
An all you can eat buffet. I love sushi so I enjoy it here a Great selection including rolls. You can also order hand rolls made to order. Wife like crab so all you can eat, but you get 2 clusters at a time. That's OK cause not many places where you get all you can eat crab in Vegas unless you pay $$$. Great selection of other dishes noodles ribs shrimp and other seafood. Soup to order and deserts. Only issues was there were a few dishes that could have been warmer other the that we will be going back.
Jarret Beckner
The sushi here was incredible, but if you don't like seafood, there aren't very many other options. The place was really clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The Panda
I love the huge sushi selection. I noticed different nights have different selections on food. Way better than buffet of asia. Everything was so freshly prepared and you can request them to make you something. Very good place. My friends and I all had a great time.
Mary Morris
Great sushi. Love the chocolate fountain.
Michael Chapin
Service was good. Limited selection of non sushi items was basically shrimp and chicken cooked a few different ways. Disappointed that there was a 1 per customer limit on Crab legs. Overall though, the food was good.
Cal Hodges
Excellent buffet for the price, $21 total with tax. I had like 4 full plates and got my money’s worth. Not a HUGE selection of ‘non-sushi’ items but definitely great food in there. I will be back for sure. I went yesterday, and I’m actually craving it again as I’m typing this today 😆🤷🏽♂️ 🍣🍱🍤🥟😋🙏🏽 …
Phillip Lloyd
Certainly one of the best Asian buffets in Vegas. You know it's good when the service is polite and on top of everything. Also, the food was 4 start quality... and that's not easy to find even in "the land of buffets".
See Thao
First time here for dinner and food was amazing! Pricey but worth the money! Sashimi sushi tasted fresh and the ramen was DELICIOUS! Servers were very attentive and refilled our drinks frequently!
David Cy
Came here for dinner. All you can eat salmon sashimi, sushi rolls. Hand rolls, seafood, crab legs, and oysters. Worth the money! Come early because it will be crowded. Definitely worth the money.
Harry Y
very good japanese buffet.my go to restaurant when in las vegas.off the strip.went twice this last trip!lots of locals there.reasonable price.get 20% off seniors.
Neto Tube
Really good... enjoyed everything, I only whish they added a few more items to their menu.... paid $25 each for lunch buffet.

KING LUDAN
The BEST JAPANESE SEAFOOD BUFFET IN VEGAS HANDS DOWN!!!
Linda Carrigan-Deerfield
Just arrived in Vegas and were looking for sushi. Our car rental shuttle driver recommended Makino and we were glad we took his advice! The sushi was fresh with many varieties. The hot food was delicious, also with a wide variety of dishes. The staff was pleasant and assisted us with finding particular favorites as well as sauces for the meal. Dessert was wonderful! The food was well worth the price of the buffet!
Liliana Jaimes
Best Japanese buffet. Everything is fresh and delicious
Christian Wedewardt
We're German tourists in the city. We were invited by local friends to visit this restaurant. Frankly, this is one of the most spectacular food places we've seen. Amazing quality. That was great.
David Ku
Makinos Japanese buffet and sushi restaurant looks unassuming from the outside, but is clean and well maintained on the inside. The food was great, and the sushi was tops, equal or better then the specialty sushi shops in quality and preparation. The price is higher then most of the off strip establishments, but worth it at $25 for lunch. Total bill was about $81 for three adults. Staff was courteous and efficient. Sorry, not much to complain about this place..
Brian Norlin
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Always fresh tons to pick from. Can't say enough good things about this place.
Dan Coronel
Was in the mood for some tempura and ended up eating lots of sushi... I have no self control. The food was great!
Adulrahman Khaiwi
Quality has dropped, and prices have gone up.
Scott Campbell
We usually make a visit while in Vegas. They have a large buffet, tons of sushi and other selections. This is no frills dining. Come in, get seated, order a drink, and start eating.
Phradoe Banas
This was my second time coming here. The first time I didn't get a chance to review. Restaurant is clean and seating took less than a minute a accommodate a party of seven.
The buffet has a mix of desserts, salads, hot foods, and the sushi section. The hot foods were delicious, I recommend the beef teriyaki and orange chicken.
The sushi better side was stocked well and the area was kept clean. Names off the sushi rolls are written on the glass so you might have to stain to see which one you're getting. I might suggest better signs to include the ingredients in the sushi roll but I'm not complaining too much.
Drinks were filled regularly. Great service.
Jenette Meginness
It's okay, food is good, BUT a bit pricey they should have more seafood selections for $40 price on the weekends. They only serve small crab not steamed it is cold and very salty, fried shrimp, boring squid, thin slice of salmon, and steam cod fish 😒 I would consider going to bacchanal buffet in Ceasars Palace than coming here. That's my honest review for year 2021 of October!
Way Kami
Makino was on my gotta go places when I visit Vegas. Unfortunately, my latest visit was a little disappointing.
The nigiri sushi’s rice was mushy and lacking in grain integrity which usually means the rice wasn’t washed well before cooking or there was too much water. Because leftover rice can be charged to your bill, it was disappointing that the rice was not very well prepared. (I can usually determine a restaurant based on their rice because if the establishment doesn’t take care on something as basic as rice preparation, they are probably careless about everything else- especially in a sushi restaurant.)
They also have the crab hidden behind the oysters. You need to ask one of the workers and they will put it in your plate. I missed it going through the line the first time and only found out about it through my nephew who saw someone ask for it.
The desserts and other hot items were okay.
I’ll probably go there on my next trip, but if it is disappointing again, it will be off my list. There are so many other yummy places in Vegas.
Robert Champion
Great service and the wait staff was very good. The food was fresh and tasty.
iklin senel
our must stop restorant each trip we make to Las Vegas.Very worm and friendly place❤️
Jack Li
Nice , clean place with yummy food and good service. No sashimi, fewer selections comparing to big buffet places, but the food quality is more than enough to compensate for the short of choices. You may want to avoid the vegi Raman. It's under cooked and over salted to me. Definitely pickup the oysters. They are fresh and well prepared.
Megan Farley
Yum is all I have to say! 😅 It was well worth the dinner buffet price of $45 per person. THERE ARE crab legs, people! I saw many reviews complaining of no crab legs but you have to ask for them! They are served behind the cold salad bar.
J Burr Tompkins
Very good. Great selection. Prompt service. Not cheap but very good. Strong recommend.
Getaway with Pam
My family love this place, been here a few times. I celebrated my bday here with co-workers ay back 3yrs ago and it was really nice. The only thing that’s kinda unlike is too pricey for few choices unlike before pandemic they’ve got 100+ kinds of dishes . But over all it’s clean and not crowded. We will come back for the quality of foods.
Talbin MacGillivray
Of the food that I had, it was decent, but definitely not worth the $40 price tag. Service was good. Got there about 7:30, had a 30 min wait (which is fine). Unfortunately, no fresh food was being brought out by this time. Everything was pretty picked over. Definitely skip the luke-warm miso. It leaves much to be desired.
Cerys Riaz (Cerys)
Amazing food! I'll be coming back again when I go back to Las Vegas.
Dain Boelter
Dinner is like $48... The sushi selection is great and there are a number of really good ones. The seasoned shrimp was good. Ribs were not good. The price seemed a bit high for the atmosphere and food quality.
Rick Rick
Great Food!!! Great Service!!! Love the Fried Shrimp Tempura!!! So Yummmmmmy!!!
Marlene T
Was first in line at 5:15pm. But was surprised that if we came at around 6 no line. Maybe due to the heat now! Anyway the selections where delicious and service from the staff was very good. They have plastic disposable gloves to use when going through the buffet and signs for masks wear. Will be back again when cooler weather. They also serve crab legs Friday-Sunday but at a slightly higher price. I'm sure it'll be worth it. Forgot if it's only for dinner.

They had sushi rolls that I never seen or tried before and those were very good. Not much other food choices and no crab legs. I didn't think it was worth $35 a person. Service was good.
OLEKSANDR BOLSHAKOV
All of the food is very tasty. Excellent combination of flavors. Staff has great costumer service. Sushi is delicious, six stars 🤤.
I came back to get some more of this sushi week later, drove 2 hours to Las Vegas just for sushi. Worth it!!!
Gabrielle Morales
Absolutely wonderful crab, succently sweet and super fresh and juicy, served chilled. Plenty of sushi with great combinations. Tried the miso soup and was not salty and different than any that I've had because it incorporated zucchini which made it more well rounded. Not the biggest selection on hot entree items but I didn't go for those options and wanted a cold fresh selection of seafood. Very lovely!
Nick Morales
Staff was friendly courteous I didn't have to like flag down a waiter or waitress all I had to do is just look up and the girl would come right to like what do you need they kept her iced teas full they kept their table clean and the food was fantastic love sushi they have some salads they have cooked food and tempura is fantastic and the sushi and they have like fruit fresh fruit cakes dessert a chocolate fountain it's it's a fantastic place to go to just to go relax talk and and have a great lunch I love this place it's a little on the expensive side but it's still the food you can't beat the food the food is fantastic and I suggest the unsweetened green tea with your with your meal the green tea just is great anyways that's all I got to say love the place it's fantastic

This was my first visit during covid so I could not give opinion on what it was like before. I do understand the ways to provide services can be changed drastically. The employees seems weary and tired which is understandable since it was closing soon, and having used to be a food worker I can share the sympathy. The food was great and the waitresses were extra friendly. But $32 per person for the ranges of food offered seems to be a little bit can be discouraging for a second visit... But I do wish the best for the restaurant and all staffs!
Bianca Harris
We have gone several times. It's always hit and miss. Way too many people inside, makes it hot, makes the sushi warm and uninviting. Service is great otherwise. Don't recommend the miso soup... maybe it was just the one time but, I've never had squash in my miso. Last visit they had trouble keeping up with the dishes. Again, perhaps their capacity is too much for them.

Thank you so much for hosting a big and rather rambunctious party. I don't remember our kind server's names but we're very grateful for their service and assisting us in making our dad's 70th birthday a success.
(We hope you enjoy your basket of goodies)
Jim
This place was fantastic! I did not know what to expect from a sushi buffet, but we could not have been more surprised. There is any kind of sushi you might want, prepared perfectly. The tempura shrimp was very, very good. The miso soup was awesome. Even the deserts were excellent. I did not get to try everything, but I am sure it would be of the same quality.
The staff is very nice, which only made it that much better.
If you like Japanese food this is the place.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Darrell bishop
A lot of buffets are still closed. But we found this little gem. Food was good and there was plenty. Sushi 🍣 was probably the best part for me. They have a lot of choices from steak to sushi. Not bad
rudy aguilar
Still a great place but prices has been increasing a lot
Kelly Lee
Okay food
Great service
Keri Strawn
Awesome sushi bar! Service was excellent and restaurant was super clean! A little pricey but you do have quite an array of choices. Excellent kale salad also! Would like to come back for dinner when it's all you can eat crab legs on the weekend.
Dr C
The Good: Food was good and a nice selection of sushi
The bad : Not as many choices for a “buffet” and you can find more options off the strip where you’ll get more bang for your buck
Julie Yutuc
I haven't been here for awhile. This is not the same Makino that it used to be - - the place doesn't look clean,; the food, except for the sushi and sashimi, is oily. Although there were signs to wear mask and gloves when getting food, there's no one from the restaurant staff monitors this rule - simply ignoring the customers who don't follow the restaurant rules. Definitely not coming back to this place.

Super buffet. Amazing sushi!
Rosana Villarama
Price is too high and they didn't have crab legs that day.
Gordon Terakami
Food is excellent, Salads are tasty and place is clean. Has an authentic Japanese taste and the sushi rolls are very innovative.
Gina Villa
I always wanted to check this all you can eat Buffetwith sushi.. I think the outside makes you believe it would be really nice inside. We honestly got a sense of a cafeteria. Small, ( that's why they're always full capacity ) Not a great variety a food choices at all. The quality of food and taste, nothing fancy, I think the fruit jello deserts were left overs . And to pay this much for dinner! still having to pay extra for non-alcoholic drinks., This made it less appealing. My friends and I will not be going back.. sorry truth,
a.b. chang
Nice place..not too big so not too crowded. Good sushi selection with rolls. We'll be back
Ernest Lee (OuttyKiD)
I like this place a lot you know the good sushi they even had ramen for me and the desserts phenomenal you know it is AYCE but its a nice brunch or lunch spot
Reyna V
This place was amazing it had quality sushi and a wide variety of options. Place was recommended by a friend and well worth the dinner price $30/person. My family will definitely come again. Great service and maintained all areas clean.
Richard Rios
This buffet is a little over priced for my taste. The cooked food was good. The sushi is not of the highest quality, not bad but just ok
David Inglis
Haven't been at makino for awhile still 5 stars
Steve Shaneman
Made reservations for 3 at 1245. Got there 10 minutes early. Walked right in. Service was excellent! Food was very good. Less variety than 7 months ago, pre COVID-19, but good enough for this old sailor and his Taiwanese wife of 40 years, especially for my 74th birthday! Definitely planning to return!! ~Steve89147

Visited this restaurant while on vacation in Las Vegas. I was skeptical due to the new guidelines with the covid situation. They did do temp checks at the door, so beware. All the food options were prepared and presented behind a glass. Just let the staff know which items you'd like and they plate it all for you. Prices are pretty much the same if not cheaper do to the food options. They did have sushi available as well. All food was fresh and not cold.
Ryan Kennedy
Pretty good sushi, and it's all you can eat. They've got an amazing selection. They have options other than seafood, but their non-seafood is just average. The staff was friendly and the service was good.
V W
Good customer service. The servers were considerate and voluntary took pictures for us. The chefs at the hand roll station were very guest obsessed. They also put a good among of the ingredients which surprised me.
There were a variety of sushi roll chooses. It is a good place for roll fans but not nigiri fans.
Kathryn Nguyen
I think it's great, everything was delicious and I was very happy. I just would prefer that some things were hotter/fresher. I also felt that the waitress was a bit irritated by us sitting there or maybe the refills of green tea? I shouldn't feel irritation coming from wait staff when we were a perfectly reasonable table that ate the normal amount if not much less actually; we were visiting family and maybe stayed 15 minutes longer but the tables were not all full at that time. Otherwise it's a good place and you'll be happy with it.
ThyHumanity
If you want to eat well for about 30 bucks, this place is perfect. For 30 dollars they offer a wide varieties of food expected from a medium sized buffet. The only complaint I had was one of the workers being a bit rude and inpatient when it came to serving people.
David Mark
I went to this place for the first time about 2 years ago when I came to visit. I have been here an additional 3 times and this place does not disappoint. I love buffets and I prefer buffets because of the vast selection of food. Now with bulk style of cooking, which most if not all buffets operate. Usually you have to sacrifice taste and quality so you can have quantity. Makino's specialty is seafood, they have a few meat sections but it's the seafood that's worth the visit. The food is fresh, along with their fish. People out there who would consider themselves as a sushi connoisseur would understand that freshness is important when it comes to sushi. From their specialty rolls to their sashimi, it is good and fresh. I would highly recommend this place.

Delicious cooked food and sushi. The ladies who are serving super friendly. My husband and I go there often. We are regulars and we usually have our favorite table. We've been going here for 20 years. Its our Sunday favorite :-)

So my wife and I ate here. Basically it was 2 dinners: $30.95 each, so it was $61.90 and then two drinks which was $1.75 each. The total was $70.80.
First off the restaurant was amazing, the food was fresh, the flavors were exotic and by far the BEST $70 I had ever spent on a meal. We will be returning. Any complaints from this place obviously come from grumpy rude customers who are obviously in a bad set of mind cause the waitresses all were friendly, the surrounding and atmosphere was amazing, a little crowded but still amazing. I loved it and it was hands down one of the best sushi place I’ve ever been to, coming from a dude who has moved around from state to state in his life.
I would reccomend to everybody and I would rate it 4.8 out of 5 cause they need to relocate to a bigger location so they can seat more people. Honestly, they deserve the attention.

Very good and tasty food. They are very conscious of wearing a mask. When eating remove it, get up and get more food out mask on. They even put out plastic gloves to protect you from others touching the handling of the tongs.
MP Tran
The sushi is fresh and delicious. The price is right.
Dusteepoot
I'm typically not a fan of buffets with a sushi bar. But Makino offer a wide variety of rolls to choose from, and how many pieces you want. Want a whole roll for yourself? No problem. They make them to order too. Friendly wait staff with little to no wait time. Great food selection, and above average quality taste. Awesome time for $30 AYCE sushi!
ed crisostomo
food was mediocre..during summer months ventilation isn't that good..depending where you sit. the only highlight was unlimited shrimp tempura, crab legs (you have to ask the person between the salads and the grill), and made to order ramen. server was good..prebussed and brought refills of water at good intervals. now they make you wear plastic gloves while your on the buffet line..which is a hassle..but seeing covid is still around seems like a minor detail.
Philip 702
First time at Makino's, first time eating sushi. Is very well lit. Very well laid out. The sushi was good. Very interesting, but interesting in that first time unknown good kind of way. I will be back.
Tsólaria Vazquez
Went for lunch. It's a sushi buffet and I'm uncomfortable with raw fish that has been left out and room temperature cream cheese. I brought this upon myself.
The hot foods and desserts are really good, though. A lot of the sushi wasn't bad. They have tiny beef tacos that are excellent crunchy and slightly sweet. They have delicious salads. They have a chocolate fountain (out of reach of children, which is good).
But, in my opinion, all-you-can-eat sushi is better experienced on a per-ordered basis.
David L Bright
Usually come @ opening bell. Came at 12:30 food just as good not so crowded. No one pushing up behind you. Great experience.
Javier Moreno
Alot of variety lots of sushi great foid
jessica B
Always good food here.. They have a great selection of Japanese cuisine and sushi is fresh. The staff are also nice and service is quick. What more can you ask for.
Michael McCoy
Large variety of food, also the sushi had a lot of choices, the staff was fast & friendly. The food was fresh.
B Hicks
Was a great dining experience. The selection was large and restocked quickly. We were there 10 minutes before they opened and there was already a line. I knew it would be good.
Davidson Coronado
I've come to Makino's for years. The awesome thing is that if you crave more than just sushi, then this place has your back. You can find crab legs, shrimp, steak, ribs, etc. Their desserts are pretty good, too. However, I must say that even though their sushi is good, it won't be the best you've had. The price has considerably gone up, too. Unlike Chinese restaurants, the staff here is quite pleasant!
bdotlv MTB
Went here for lunch and is a newly found favorite. The spread is massive and the chefs keep churning out fresh delectables from the kitchen. The sushi selection offers a massive variety all in a good quality and great flavors. The service is prompt and efficient in both delivering beverages and removing empty plates. After all this is buffet style... They have good taken, and a great fried tempura selection as well. Fear not, this is a good one.
Mike Klein
Best all you can eat sushi bar I have ever been to. Great variety as far as traditional and Americanized sushi. Good selection of other entrees for the non sushi lovers. This has become my special occasion place. Great team service as well, your drinks never go empty. Will be back as often as possible.

Was here yesterday. Clean and feels safe. Adheres to guidelines. Food was great too. Staff was superb and attends to customers regularly and serves with a smile. Didnt feel rushed. We were a party of 10 and they answer google map messages quick which made planning easy. More power to staff and owner.
Papaneo
July 1st 2020. This place is open for dine in. As you walk in they check your temperature and have you rub hand sanitizer on your hands. The distance between tables are good. All of their staff wears mask and face shield. They clean and sanitize the table. And the food is amazing. Almost all food are quality. Be sure to support this spot. I will surely comeback here. Lunch for weekdays is $20.95. They have pork belly, shrimp tempura, salmon, beef teriyaki and beef sukiyaki for lunch. Not bad for the price.
Nefertari A.
Makino Buffet is owned by the Makino Bros.; the original founders of the former restaurant chain that was known as Todai. The original restaurant first opened in Santa Monica, CA before expanding to other locations. Once they sold all of their stakes in ownership to a Korean company, the quality of the food went down with it. The Makino Brothers then decided to open up Makino. They also have other buffets that operate under the name "100's Seafood Buffet". So if you see a Makino or a 100's, welcome to Todai reincarnated.
Luiza Parrella Nguyen
Good food, crab on weekends is delicious, they do change the menu and take items out of nowhere so yeah. Still an amazing place to go!
Sharlene C
Been going to this location for over 18 years. Use to love this place... seems as if their nigiri has downgraded. Not as fresh. The hot dishes are delicious. Servers are nice and usually quick with drinks. Kids love their chocolate fountain. Ramen and shrimp tempura are my faves
Vitamin K Cee
It was ok, busy place. Went there Saturday before it opened and there was already a long line. Tons of sushi options which I liked. If you want to eat crab legs, go during dinner time cause they don't have it during lunch time. Make sure to check your plates cause I grabbed 2 dirty plates consecutively and put it away for them to clean.
Queen Rose
OMG If you are a sushi lover this place is HEAVEN!!! They also have hot items to eat crab legs, shrimp tempura, baked shrimp as well as a dessert bar. Customer service is excellent. It would be hard to not find a smiling face. They are extremely clean and the service and food is WELL WORTH every penny. I went about an hour before closing time and the place was still bustling. Fresh food was still put out on the bar and the servers and cashiers were still smiling as if they had not been at work the entire day. Definitely a highlight of my vacation and I will definitely be returning.
Derrick Felder
Great food and atmosphere. Very safe and well maintained location. You are still served by staff at this time. The food was delicious as usual and the staff was very attentive. Expect to sign in if it is busy, but it goes by fast.
Morgan Wong
The food was good, not spectacular, but not disappointing. But some website says seniors have 20% discount but that false, only 10%.
Ashley Asuncion
Very wide selection of sushi, entrees and soups. The wait staff are very considerate and are constantly clearing plates and refilling drinks. However, the overall quality of the food was just okay. The tables are very crowded and close together. Additionally, the layout of the buffet is strange and facilitates a lot of people bumping into each other. The thing that really bothered me is that it's not accessible at all. The crowdedness of the restaurant made it very hard for a member in my party to get through with his wheelchair and it seemed to inconvenience a lot of the staff and other patrons
Juanita Pinkelton
Lunch was delicious. Steak was tender. Plenty of sushi choices. Plenty of food. Fruit was fresh and sweet. Didn't try any desserts. No crab legs for lunch. It was good
이찬기
Went there for our wedding anniversary dinner since our friend recommended.
It was fantastic. We spend about $70 (after tips and all) but it was awesome. Lots of Sushi and many choices. Only thing i did not like was that the crap was so hard to eat. Many places cut the crap legs to half to make it easy for people to eat but they did not so that was only not best part about this place.
Timm Dawg
One word of advice about this place, all of the food is excellent, delicious and highly addictive, so before you run to get the first thing that you see, take the time to look around first! Nine times out of ten, you will pick the first thing that you see, then you'll be angry with yourself because you missed something that you really wanted and you have no more room in your stomach to fit it, LOL! Excellent service and sushi selection, this place have something for everybody!!
Derrick Grant
This was my second visit to this Makino location and the sushi and ramen noodle selection was once again outstanding. The only drawback is if you bring guest that do not eat sushi the other choices are very limited. I brought a family member that does not eat sushi this visit and they had very few food choices. Overall, if you like sushi and ramen you will be very pleased, also the servers did a noteworthy job providing drinks throughout the visit.
Andrew Love
Great selection of Sushi and Buffet Seafood! Don't forget unlimited Crab Legs. Nigiri, Shashimi, Sushi, all are delicious and made by great chefs. Staff are friendly and pricing is very reasonable. I come here from time to time, I may become a regular... it's that good for the price.
DJ Graham
Good, as always. Even at the tail end of the lunch hour and breaking down the lunch food in preparation for dinner service the food was still fresh and cold or warm, as it should be. Makino's is my favorite buffet, rarely a disappointment. To see their staff eating their lunch from the same service line that I'd just finished picking from for my lunch was a good indicator to me that the food isn't horrible.
Hyungmin Lee (Harry)
Very nice service, well cleaned and sanitized place! They know how to manage table layouts for keeping social distance. Sushi quality was great too. They check every customer's fever for safety.
Robert Castro
Definitely do yourself a favor and order a bottle of sake when you visit this awesome all you can eat sushi place! My friends and I LOVED it and ended up getting another! Will definitely be coming back to this awesome place!
Jeff Kwak
Used to be good one visit and not good another time. It seems to be different now and consistently decent. All you can eat sushi and cooked Asian items. Desserts too. Crab legs at night are good. Buffet style dining.
Jason Celso
One of our favorite Japanese buffet. They are still serving you as of 5/11/21. Wish they would go back to normal, the self service buffet style. Other buffets are already are.. otherwise still one of the best.
Michael Leon
Fresh, fresh, fresh. Post pandemic, the servers hand the food to you, buffet is no problem. Beautiful, colorful sushi, handrolls made for you, and the ramen (I like shoyu but they have tonkatsu, and their udon tastes like fun) is a winner. If you can, you should.
yousteady
All is good. Place very clean, food selection are great and tasty. Waitress very friendly and fast 😊 …
Nidia Hudson
I was in Vegas for the day n decided to have lunch here. My family n I Love Sushi and seafood. We were disappointed with the food. The Miso soup was awful. There was a seafood pasta dish that looked delicious but tasted bland. Over priced for what they offer. I don't mind paying for great food.
jeffrey guliman
I just went for the lunch however they have a wide selection of food, made to order ramen and hand sushi rolls. The food was good and worth trying. In addition the waitstaff was very attentive and always came by to fill up my drinks and take my empty plates when I was done. On the quality I have to say it was good for what you pay for, however I'm not really sure I can say that it is better than other all you can eat sushi places as in most of those places the sushi is made to order and I see more variety of sushi at those places where as at Marino's I see more variety of food. As I said in the beginning it is still definitely worth a shot And you can't go wrong with makinos.
Kevin Crawford
It's a pretty great buffet. Very nice selection of sushi, sashimi, and other dishes. And you can't go wrong with a chocolate fountain.
Coralee Reid
Omg. Clean clean clean. Covid-19 taken seriously. Temperature taken at door. The food is placed on your dish, you point they serve. Hot and cold items. Salads, soups, sushis galore, shashimi galore, deserts were unbelievable. I'm very thankful they now are serving the most delicious and outrageous varieties of choices to choose from. Wine, beers, etc for those that partake, and teas prepared with love. Can go back many times in one sitting. No need to overload your plate. It's wasteful and unnecessary. Best to come with people who enjoy the time of eating and passing a beautiful time in this establishment. Makino...what a fulfillment you are to my Spirit and those to who come to partake and relax👏
Donna Leong
We love the food here and the friendly service. Our favorite is the coffee jello. OMG! that dessert addicting! You can't just have one dish you keep going back for more. It goes fast too. The first time we were there and they had just put out a tray of coffee jello. We were able to get a dish for each of us to try because a friend told us how good that dessert was. When we went back for more it was gone.
So if you like the coffee jello get it first then go for your other foods.
The service is fast and friendly. The waitresses are so nice and helpful. We are tea drinkers so they filled our cups with tea checking the teacups periodically to make sure our cups were always filled. If you need anything they are more than happy to help you. They move at a very fast pace because this place is always so busy so they have to clear out tables quickly. You never feel rushed when you are there to hurry up and eat. It's really fun to see all the different people that are there enjoying their food.
The sushi bar is very good. The variety is amazing and everything taste so fresh. There are so many choices to choose from so take your time and try something of everything.
The cooked foods are good too and they have a good selection of things to choose from.
Recommend going when they first open up for dinner.
It gets really busy afterwards.
Don Fernandez
Love visiting this restaurant when we go to Las Vegas. Food is good, staff very pleasant, lots of options. We usually go with family, so far everyone enjoys it, no one has ever complained. Time limit usually 2 hours but we always stay longer, and no one has ever asked us to leave or given us dirty looks. Once we stayed 3+ hours and no problems. We did tip well though.
Marilyn B Ma
We took our son to Makino, for his birthday dinner, as we do every year. It is the only place where he wants to eat. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is good. Everything is clean, and great care is taken to keep everyone safe. We will be back!
Ann Peters-Anderson
Very good. Arrived about 2p. Closes from 3-5p to change over to dinner. Everything was fresh except for sole fish, which was dry. Take the basa fish instead. Many kinds of sushi to choose from, and chef will make to order as well. Ramen to order, nice salad selection, desserts and chocolate fountain. Moderately priced, good value. Staff attentive with drink refills and plate removal. Many Asian diners, always a positive sign. Will return for sure.
Joy Tsao
This buffet is solid! For the adult price of $35, we ate to our hearts' content at Makino. There were so many different kinds of sushi, which had great tasting and fresh fish but slightly lower quality rice, and beautiful presentation. They also have a hot bar filled with things like fresh crab legs (these were AMAZING, so much meat in each leg), chicken teriyaki, pork short ribs (melt in your mouth perfection), and fried delicacies. Everything tasted on or above par for buffet standards. My favorite station was actually the dessert station. Each item was baked, prepped, or cooked to perfection. They also have ice cream scoops that they serve, and the ice cream is so creamy and delicious. Overall, I'd definitely come back here.

Hey! Everytime I dine at this place is always hot in the summer. Considering great food, great location but inside this building you start feeling warm due to air conditioning problems I just think service in a restaurant like this could be an issue. This is a message for the manager at Makino's on Decatur Ave . Las Vegas, Nv. 7-7-2021

Very good food and service. A+

The food was so fresh and I liked everything I ate. Can't wait to go eat there again.

Highly recommended 👌. Lots of options in the sushi bar. The soups were delicious. Everything I tried i loved. The place looked clean and they check your body temperature upon arriving. …
Aeron Uy
The food was really good and the staff was really friendly i left my bag and they were closing but the staff waited for me to come back and gave it to me. Kudos to them

Probably the most impressive sushi buffet in Vegas IMHO. The doors open like a midnight buffet on a luxury cruise ship, and the glam is just as impressive, as their assembly of sushi fine art is amazing. The food was an amazing visual experience, and was fantastic to devour. Hand rolls were made to order, along with feasting on shrimp and crab was a treat. The dining area was nothing special, but I was lost in the excellent experience to really care after the first few minutes.
Gloria J.Y. Wang
We waited for about a few minutes, maybe less than an hour to get seated, on a Sunday lunch hour. The sushi rolls were fresh, udon soup, green tea cake were good. Lunch doesn't have sashimi. The place was packed. I agreed with a review on yelp, it does not look like what picture shows on yelp in general for restaurant. It is okay for us.

Sunday 8:20pm arrival.
Wow. Wide variety of food here was excellent. Poke, mayonnaise -free sushi, crab legs, peeled shrimp, fried oysters, watermelon... much much more. But they close at 9:30pm, gave last call at 9:15, before I got done with my crab legs. Not really their fault I arrived so late.
Next time I will need to get here earlier, and save room for the green tea Ice Cream.
Kim Le
It's alright in my opinion though I found a fish bone in my salmon. The ramen was pretty good but the ice cream was delicious. I also like the egg pudding and the oysters. Though I recommend that you go there early cause there's a long wait.
Rick Rowland
One of the best buffets in Vegas. This is my go to place whenever I am in the mood a good buffet. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is good. I especially enjoy the sushi. The sushi chefs make the sushi fresh right there behind the buffet. Always delicious and always in stock. The other items worth checking out are the delicious ramen noodles made to order. A nice Japanese experience! I recommend the green tea ice cream for dessert!
Peace
Great food and excellent service !
Eli Milcheva
Love this place! Honestly the best sushi in town and endless! Any time I think sushi-I think Makino! Variety of other Asian food and desserts as well. I don't want to forget to mention the chocolate fountain and great fast service! I've been a customer there for the past 11 years and Never, NOT once have I been disappointed.
sheldon ihara
Great assortment of sushi both nigiri and rolls. And lots of other Asian dishes including soup, appetizers, tempura, noodles, variety of meats, a deserts. Food was the right temperature and service was fast and staff courteous. Good value especially if you like sushi.
Richard
Always my goto sushi plus restaurant. Clean and varied all you can eat offerings. Vast sushi selection, complimented by excellent hot entrees and dessert offerings. Made to order sushi station included in price. Reasonably priced the low 20s depending on whether lunch or dinner. I NEVER miss a stop here when i'm in Vegas.
Jeff Stevenson
Excellent Japanese Buffet ! The food and the service were Excellent, and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely go back again !

Makino one of the BEST BUFFET in Las Vegas. Once a month we eat here since 2001. A lot of fresh sushi selection. The servers are very polite and very efficient. Love going here. Monday thru Thursday lunch best time to save $. Located W. Flamingo/S Decatur Blvd.
Marcus Kid Negus
The food was absolutely delicious. Even for people like myself who do not eat raw fish. There are a plethora of options that are cooked and scrumptious. I absolutely can NOT wait until I have the opportunity to come back and eat here again.
Tanya Marie Elzy
Great options for vegans if you're not too picky about oil and salt. The marinated red and black kale is amazing for example. Also they have coconut pudding for dessert. I did cheat a bit with the green tea ice cream 😏 …
Pierre M
Service was good; emptied plates at a timely manner. I felt that many food items didn't taste fresh. Noticed that at times when I ate sushi, the raw items seemed to be oily, which indicates to me that it was not fresh. Their deserts are ok. The restaurant was busy at around 12:30 pm on a Saturday. Many people seemed to like the food as I noticed that there were regulars. Maybe people like and liked the oily raw fish. Nothing seemed rotten or spoiled. Also the fried sushi seemed oily also, maybe it had been refried.

Very popular buffet. In LAS VEGAS. 10 min away from the strip.
Weighs food per pound not eaten to charge you per pound.

Makino is definately a neighborhood gem! A seafood buffet that exceeds all expectation! Excellent service, quality, variety, fresh sushi and "to die for" prawns and scallops! Forget the strip or any casino buffet, once you've dine at Makino and had the best, you'll never have a taste for the rest! It's that good! Great value and 20% senior discount. Prepare to wait.
Robert Chapell
There is no better all you can eat sushi then Makino Nothing sits around long enough to not be fresh. They have no less then a dozen unique rolls out at one time plus all the sushi and sashimi.
The also have a full compliment of hot items. Tempura, Miso, pot stickers and ramen to order. Full desert table as well.
Great beer selection. Great staff. Great price.

NEGATIVES:
The unagi sushi appeared to use canned eel. tasted like it.. and was hard not soft.
California Roll looked like it used real crab but didnt taste like it.
Sushi was disappointing.. 7/10 at best. did not try sashimi but all indications is it is not much better.
baked salmon and other baked fish were 7/10.
pretty much everyrhing was 7 /10 or lower.
drinks are EXTRA. i learned later i was charged for a juice and an iced tea.
crab legs were the main reason i went and they were ok.. not overly salted at least. seemed thawed from froze. 7/10.
desserts did not taste good.
$28.95 dinner rate on weekdays. would have done better at a vegas strip buffet. in fact the night before i went to fiesta casino and got a rewards card and was given a $5 credit off the $12 buffet with free drinks, prime rib and better overall quality.
Not sure why the place is rated 4 plus stars except maybe because it is off strip in Vegas and the people dont know any better.
POSITIVES:
server was good with refills.
stay away u less you are really hard up or buffet that isnt worth the price charged for the quality you get.
surprised on a weeknight the place was 90% full.
Do you St. Tropez
We went on a Friday night and it was super busy but we managed to get a table for six. Everything tasted fresh and delicious (except the poke tuna - I didn't like it for some reason maybe cause It didn't had the sauce on) there is a big variety of sashimi, grilled seafood, noodles and a miso soup dispenser!!!
Cristy Strong
Excellent all you can eat sushi bar! So many selections available! Cooked foods, tempura, soups, dessert bar with chocolate fountain. Friendly staff. The best sushi buffet I have ever visited.
Chime Time
Japanese buffet worth going. Food A rating. Lunch time is cheaper than dinner. Just eating the variety of sushi will get you full. Buffet price does not include drinks.
Judy Niturada
The best Japanese Buffet in Vegas. Price is reasonable of what you can have. Crab legs only on weekends. We keep on going here every-time we visit Las Vegas. Highly recommend.

My first time at this place and loved it!
Patricia Lange-Otsuka
Good seafood, great oysters, attentive service, chocolate fountain, good desserts, sushi is good but not exceptional, enjoy tempura and good for large groups, do offer senior discount of 10% for 65 and above, M thru Thursday evening dinner was 34.95...weekend dinner more as crab legs served, beverages are additional charge.

I love this place and when I visit Las Vegas it is a must I come here. The food and fruit is always fresh. The staff are pleasant and attentive, it's just a great vibe to be with family and friends.
Paul Ad
Great Japanese buffet. Has both fully cooked Japanese food to an assortment of sushi. There dessert has an assortment of selections. Everything served here is quality food nothing less. Everything thing I tried was fresh, nothing tasted old or like it was fridged the day before and reserved.
Han Yolo
Food is ok. Not the most authentic experience. Staff behind counter prefers talking over actually working. Dining areas are somewhat left unclean at times and don't have a tidy appearance. Wait staff is excellent however. But that's what you'd get from a "Japanese Buffet." It's not like Kaku Makino himself is actually supervising and cooking. My biggest gripe is that the price per head does not match the quality of food. You are better off going to Ichiza or Aburiya Raku if you want good quality Japanese food for relatively the same price on the check.
Beauty Agana
I LOVE LOVE this place..their food are FRESH ALL THE TIME..! You get your money's worth bcoz their food selection is tremendously fresh & delicious. Even their Sushi & Sashimi are prepared in front of you..If there is a 10 stars I would gladly give it to them..
Al Gunter
Crowded. Staff busy taking care of customers. Cleaning tables and counters for customers. All the food was yummy. Tasted like original when i was in Japan. Lived there over 7 years.

Julie Schoeller
This is the best and freshest sushi buffet you can find in Vegas. They never change extra for rice or food leftovers that I have seen. The soups r fabulous and fried veggies as well as oysters r delicious.
Cliff Kuriyama
Great food. Service is always very friendly and welcoming.Always attend several times each trip.
Chenelle Stewart
It was an ok spot. Great Sushi but that was about it. The crablegs are soggy and overcooked and served cold unless you ask them to be heated. Nice wait staff there.
Julius Flores
Enough variety of food to satisfy any tastes. Loved their fried oysters and cevice salad. Sashimi was well done.
Harry KQ
Slightly above average Asian style buffet.
Jonathan Chan
Pretty good for ayce sushi. Lots of variety. As with a lot of ayce places... some items better then others. Fortunately more hits then misses when we went.
Terry Woo
Excellent sushi and hot entrees.
Mark Hamasaki
Generally high quality sushi and hot Japanese entrees with premium desserts. Tried on Christmas day and crowd was too much to enjoy since lines of customers impedes casual dining pace due to ayce mentality of clientele. Prefer ayce that is served rather than having to wait at beginning of lines only to bypass choices not interested in then finally get to your preferences that are out or ghetto guests taking excessive portions or worse, patrons cutting the line to indulge themselves insensitive to others waiting patiently in line. Underwhelming experience for $100 with tip for 3. Also hate seeing patrons who eat as if they've never eaten before AND leave little to nothing for busy servers. Not worth the drive, wait and clientele to enjoy a special meal.
Ewanda Mosley
I enjoyed this buffet. The food is delicious and the wait in line is absolutely appreciated. The price is well worth it. A must go back restaurant.
Jinglong Zhou
This place is really great! Best Japanese Buffett ever for me!
Benjamin Chan
A buffet that actually gives you good sushi! Spent about 25 bucks per person during lunch. My only complaint is they were slow to refill the salmon sushi, which forced me to eat the not so good food. Lunch is a good deal, but I would much rather spend an extra $10 for dinner, the expensive sushi and seafood comes out(big prawns and fried oysters!) I tried almost all their desserts. Ice cream tasted cheap and cakes were nasty. But the adzuki bean soup with mochi balls was a homerun.
Nancy Crza
We have drive all the way from SLC Utah just to come eat here. We have always enjoy it so much. Staff is very friendly!
Two thumbs up for Francisco at the sushi bar! Thanks for your service!
Edu Sky
Good taste but old looking
Jimmie Gilley
Great place to eat real Japanese sushi and other on the buffet line. Greet you at the entrance with smiles and the services are exceptionally professional. I recommend anyone comes to Las Vegas to try Makino first before trying other places.
Chris Jeremiah
Omg, first time here. Food was outstanding. They have the largest variery of sushi I've ever come accross at a buffet. The rest of the food was high quality as well. In my opinion this place surpasses the buffet at Aria, amd its slightly cheaper. Worth every penny and more
K.D.F. 1974
Came to eat with my father, brother, and my brother's wife. The sushi quality is good considering the buffet style atmosphere. To think Todai and Makino we're the first sushi buffet restaurants to come here to Las Vegas almost two decades ago. Despite so many AYCE sushi places in this town, I still keep coming back here because of the convenience of selecting and picking up my food and eat at my own pace. I definitely will be back again.
Hien Nguyen
A Japanese-inspired buffet that has a good mix of sashimi, sushi, and even ramen. Obviously none of these dishes can compare to true Japanese restaurants, however this is a good bang-for-the-buck. If you set your expectations correctly, it's a decent choice.
Service is pretty good - they take care of refills and plates.
Mana Wannabedone
Whenever I am craving crab legs...this is where I am going. I can get more than my fill of crab here but yes, their fish is fresh, sushi on point, and delicious hand rolls. I enjoy getting a fresh bowl of ramen, a couple shrimp tempura and the trip isn't complete without at least 3 or 4 delicious creme brulee.
Terri Jenkins
Great buffet! So many things to choose from & try, especially if you're not familiar with Japanese cuisine. The very attentive wait staff never let my drink get dry.
Josiah Soehnge
Move out the way sushirittos/all other sushi establishments this place has come to take my money everytime! don't let the haters bring it down I've been to plenty of sushi restaurants and this is easily the best buffet I've ever been to! I tried majority of everything and didn't have a single complaint, the staff is friendly, quick, and hard working to get food stocked up at all times for how busy they are! Im saying you gotta be the pickiest silver spooned fed person ever if you think this restaurant isn't good I was blown away great job makino keep it up I'll be back soon believe that! I wish there was one in my home state!
UNLVgrad2000 GoRebels
If you're starving and craving sushi this is a great choice. Lots of choices and fast seating and service so you can eat and chow down within minutes of getting there. Food has always been fresh and tasty.
Tyrone Chatman
I've dined at Makino's for several years and their food never disappoints. There's something on their buffet for a variety of taste.
Coralee Reid
I've been coming here since they opened. Prices have change, and I understand the reason why, so I'm not able to come as often as I did. This has not stopped me though. I love their glass noodle with hot chili oil. Sushi and shashimi served fresh. Constant rollover of items. Keeping foods really fresh.
I have a system that I use which works for myself and others I introduce this place too.
First the right.....fresh sushi and fish, eel, tuna, yellow tail, etc, so delicious,
2nd ....the middle, all their salads from the glass noodle, jicama, ceviche, hand rolled sushi and shishimi. Omg, so flavorful
3rd then the hot sector....fresh tempuras, shrimp tempurs, pho, ramen bowls, misos, stuffed mussels, steamed fish, etc.
All so delicious.
4th...desserts galore, chocolate fountains, with proper accrutomites.
If you go, leave room for the best that is offered, experiment with what is offered, it's all good. Take your time and please do not waste their food. Take what you feel you can eat at each round. Just don't over fill your plate and leave wastage.
Best time 11:30 am to 2pm. They'll turn you away befor 3pm. They close...then prepare for dinner. 5pm till 9:30. Best to call for large groups or confirm times.
It's a wonderful place and still reasonably priced. See you there...yum yum.
Jose Hernandez
Great customer service. The food is good, however a bit over priced for the selection they have. They customer service really elevated the experience. The price of 30+ per person not worth it for me knowing the industry maybe $21.99 ok. I read the reviews and speak of of the food as extraordinary I guess it's in pallet.
Richard Clark
Beat deal in town I believe. Has crab legs for dinner even if it's rationed through the night. Having the crab legs alone makes this a 5 star because they put in the effort to get them, unlike MGM.
Richad Her
We had the crab legs. They were serve cold but was great. Was alittle disappointed because they didn't have any sashimi.
Orly Cohen
Food was great, service was pretty good. Unfortunately they raised their price by over 30% from what they were charging before covid-19. Maybe instead of making everyone angry like all the other places that have started charging a new covid tax, they just quietly changed their price. Very disappointing.
Carol Giddings
Food was good evening though I don't eat sushi or fish, but there was plenty of other choices. Service was good. A little pricey.
B Ro
Always the best part of Las Vegas. Best buffet in town in my opinion. Sushi and crab legs and fried options. Been there many times and have no plans on changing spots any time soon.
cris aguilar
Great variety and quality is above what you would expect for buffet. I only tried the sushi but the other offerings looked good too. Good choice for dessert as well. I'll definitely be back.
Randy
I love makinos ! always fresh sushi and other foods can be a bit pricey but it's worth the money if you haven't tried this place yourself
Chie Uh
they hame so many choice to eat.i love kale salad and desserts 🍨
Chris Parsons
The best off-strip all you can eat sushi buffet. Large selection of rolls, hand rolls, nigiri as well as some common types of sushimi. The deserts aren't great but that's not why I'm here. There some non-sushi selections such as king crab legs, stir-fry noodles and hot savory dishes to keep the non-sushi eater of the group sustained.
Raymund GC
Clean and the food is amazing. A bit expensive.
Anthony
Great restaurant! I'm not a big fish fan, and it was my first time trying sushi, but I had a good experience here. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly!
Michelle Dino
The food is pretty good, but its a bit chaotic inside. Definitely try to avoid the 5-7pm dinner rush. I'd come back woth a group, but not on my own. Visiting Vegas only for the weekend from SoCal (SGV) where we have tons of buffets to compare... it's a bit of a mess, imo. The food has a high turnover with lots of customers, so it's always fresh, but some recipes look great & taste meh.
Linda Vo
Great sushi for a buffet. Fresh. We always go around lunch right after the doors open and it is basically a full house so the food is constantly getting refreshed. Service is great and food taste amazing.
Eric Brown
It was ok. Not the best and not the worst. It was over priced for the quality of the food. I would not go again.
Chris Constantine
Makino is a special treat but seems too crowded and overpriced to enjoy more often. There should be more room around the tables and along the food areas. There should be better discounts for seniors who usually eat half as much and have trouble fighting for the food here.
Russell Araujo
Looking for Japanese food? Look no further than Makino Seafood & Sushi Buffet.
Pros:
Great service.
Great selection of Japanese food and sushi
Ample seating
Cons:
It can get busy and you sometimes have to wait.
For the price, you cannot beat Makino's. There are not many places in Las Vegas where you will find the variety and quality of Japanese food. 4 stars.
Josaleen Ta
The broth for the ramen wasn't very good, one of them didn't taste like anything actually. I thought the food was very hit or miss, mostly miss. They serve crab but some batches were way too salty
All the food is being a glass cover so the employees pick your food for you. They also check your temperature before going in
Rhonda Carpenter
My daughter turned 15 yesterday and my husband and I were reminiscing about taking her to Makino in a baby carrier. Yesterday, they celebrated 15 years of her with us and gave us a cake for her. Love them. Will continue to return for another 15 years even though we now live in Denver.
Jojean Roy
Great sushi rolls. Very busy place, but the service was terrific and fast. Prices were average. I would eat here again and recommend.
Jiyang Jin
raw seafood and raw seafood sushi is probably only average(or slightly above) in freshness. But they are doing a really good job in making sushi using cooked fish. Also their soy sauce is great.
For the salad section, the octpus salad is great.
For cooked food like beef, pork and fried temphara, tempharas and other cooked seafood are pretty good, meats are not bad, vegetables are only above average.
christopher sheridan
Fast and efficient service but definitely not with the cost. $40 for mediocre asian buffet. I don't think I'll go back.
Basil Fernandez
Makino is probably the best place to start if you are new to Japanese food or when bringing visitors out. Though now always consiatemt with food quality, they do have very good offerings. All you can eat tempura anyone? The dessert selections are very decent as well. My wife and I love the beef sukiyaki.
If you are a nigiri fan though, you are better off Sakana, Yama Sushi, or Sapporo.
Thananon Patinyasakdikul
Good selection on sushi. We went in Thanksgiving weekend and they bumped the price to 39$. I would be happy if its normal 25-30$.
Kudos to the staff working on holidays.
Diego Rovere
Expect long lines to get your food. Week days no crab legs and no unagi or eels on the rolls. $33 dinner Monday thru Thursday
Masayo Taylor
My husband and I have been going there for years. There was one period we quit going because their food quality deteriorated during that period. It was when Makino had more than one location in Las Vegas. They closed other restaurants. By chance we went back recently; and found out that their food is so much better than before. Now we have a place to treat ourselves every week.
Greg Baek
Visited for lunch. There are lots of Sushi and variety of rolls. I think food are above than average. I enjoyed theRamen station. You can choose Shoyu (soy sauce based), Donkotsu (pork) or Udon. If you are in Las Vegas, this place is worth to check out.
Helen Frances Inciong
Great Japanese food, very courteous servers and staff! Loved their tempura and creme brulee 🍤🍮 …
William Schmit
Crowded, show up early. Food is good, when you balance price and volume. Not a fan of buffets, but I like this one, mostly Japanese focused but really Asian American, and truly a slice of Vegas.
MRS. Krystal E. Navarrette
i do not eat sushi. but thus place had a great vegetable section, salad choice, cooked fish, shrimp, and other great items. the most amazing dessert selection.
Victoria Ko
This place is always bustling with hungry patrons. The atmosphere is great, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. Great sushi, ramen, Asian fusion food, and dessert. They have a chocolate water fall!!!
Royal Schlitt
Very good Japanese food for a buffet!!!
Mac4 Five
Took my daughter there for her eighth birthday she loved it all the family enjoyed themselves
Bk Song
Good sushi buffet. Sushi is ok. crab legs are cold but tasty. Dessert are ok also. If the crab legs are warm, I would like to visit often.
Kit Montojo
Good sushi place. Didn't had a chance to take pictures too busy eating but I plan on returning so pictures will be posted then.
Oki Sil-Eighty
Awesome as always. Staff is super polite, food is always high quality and you can get any kind of ramen/soba you want. If you like Japanese food, you have to give Makino a shot.
Henry Won
The sushi is well made. The consistency of rice is right and netta(topping) are fresh. I have eaten premium sushis in Korea and Japan many times. This is of course not premium class, but the basics of sushi are followed here.
The freshness of ingredient continues to oyster in the shell and tempuras. The oyster does not have even a hint of off taste. And the made to order ramen is delicious.
And snow crab legs are good. They are not icy cold, and not salty.
When my family tried The Buffet at Belaggio the other day, we were all very disappointed for its general lack of attention to the quality of food and its high price. In the contrary, Makino is the perfect place.
jun andres
Very friendly and laid back atmosphere. They're very busy at dinner and took us in at 8:30pm just before closing. It's been our 5th time here and enjoyed them every time!
A&M Travel
Drove six hours just to eat here. Worth it! If you are a fan of Japanese style food, there is no better place.
Brian Choi
The best sushi buffet I know west of Mississippi. I also tried their Irvine location, which was mediocre. But this one in Vegas is simply great, with fresh sushi and tempura in particular. It's my go-to restaurant in Vegas.
Platte Valley Guide Service
All kinds of sushi and things this Nebraska guy's never seen before, amazing place. When I'm back in vegas you can bet I'll be back at Makino.
Kanani Y (Nani)
The sushi rice was made perfectly (not too dry and hard like many places) and the fish was fresh. Vegetables were also fresh and delicious!
R Jason Townsend
Really fun place with loads of variety. Mae sure you try both sides of the buffet. Ranges from great cooked dishes to tasty sushi.
Gabriel Miyamoto
I'm not a big fan of all you can eat, but
This place was way better than I thought. Good crab and sashimi
Izaak Juarez
Amazing. The waitress is extremely nice and the food is the best.it has seafood and other types of food including dessert and chicken and fruits. Its an amazing place to eat and the price isn't that expensive its worth it. The price is amazing.
Diana Duangnet
I LOVE this place! It's AYCE sushi but buffet style. So you go up and choose pieces of sushi that you want. They also have an array of hot Japanese entrees.
ANTHONY MARTINEZ
We found this fine place by random passing luck.... we were on our way to a different place when we decided to turn around. At 5:15pm, in the parking lot we learned it opens at 5:30pm... we decided to wait the few minutes because the locals were waiting.... that proved to be a wise decision. The place is clean, great service, honest/abundant food, but most importantly; better than any casino buffet. Ice cream, sushi, crab legs, shrimp, steak, soup, ramen, bbq pork, salad bar, oysters on half shell, fruit, ceviche, fish, chicken, calamari, and whatever else I forgot..... oh yea and desert of all sorts.... NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, but for the price who can complain. Better than any casino buffet!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!
Janet Barbour
Haven't been to Makino in a few years but it's as good as ever. Even my friend who doesn't do sushi found great food to eat. Yummy!
alex a
Ive been eating here for 10 years. Always as good as the last. These guys are masters at what they do. To keep up consistency at that volume is nothing short of amazing. Good job guys!!
Cristian Martinez
Excellent Customer Service, Very clean, and good food. Didn't have what was expected when i came here, but the food and sushi were delicious!
Sasha Stonier
The food was very good and the restaurant is nice and clean
Maria Miao
Always fresh, good service, reasonable price. We come here almost every month! Sweets and fruits make kids happy. Crab legs, raw tuna, different salads, very delicious!!!
Shirley Young
This is a great Japanese buffet. Plenty of sushi and cooked food. The variety is outstanding and pricing is a little high but when you get all that sushi it's not bad.
JBZ JBZ
Great selection of sushi!!! No time limit! Awesome service!!! You can even ask the chef to make a customized sushi roll!!! Ramen is really good!!!
Aight Den
It was very good. Food quality and setup does separate them from other like buffet styles. The price is enough for me that Makino is more of a rare spot for me
Ngoc D. Nguyen
Delicious food, good price. Everything is fresh and tasty. it is the best Japanese buffet I've ever had. Strongly recommend.
A Allen
Hands down the best all-you-can-eat sushi bar in the valley. Always crowded, but it's a sign the food is amazing.
Don't bother with the other locations, this is the original and their best.
Gary Tencer
Love the variety. Sushi to barbecue ribs, plus good desserts.
Ronil Chand
Good food and service. It was worth the a little wait time. They serve more than just seafood.
Jesse III
A good selection of sushi and sashimi, the other options are clown shoes.
Mohammad Karim (Karim)
The best seafood buffet ever tried. They have lot of items with unlimited crab!!!
