Reviews of Golden Steer Steakhouse Las Vegas
Natalie Garr
Oh my, this place is stunning. So good. As others have said incredible service (I was walked to the bathroom location), incredible food, and incredible experience. Love that at the end you get a little tin of Sergio’s seasoning, such a fun touch! Lobster was the biggest I’ve ever had and was so good without butter. Caesar salad made table side is the best Caesar I’ve ever had which is so unusual given it’s a pretty standard salad you can get anywhere. Don’t let the exterior deceive you, this place is classy! Highly recommend and definitely will be back next time I am in Vegas!

I would give 1,000 stars if I could. The dining experience I had was like no other experience on earth. Wait staff was superb.
We had a booth that looked out to the dining room floor. Nice and intimate lighting.
For appetizer we had the meatballs. The meatballs so tender it felt like they have an Italian grandmother cooking those meatballs.
My wife and I split the tomahawk steak with mushroom and Vegas largest bake potato. The steak was cook to our likening. Steak was tender and juicy full of flavor. Bake potato was delicious. The mushrooms was cooked to perfection.
All in all experience was amazing and really set the tone for our Vegas trip.

Hands down the best Steakhouse we've been to in Las Vegas and we live here in Las Vegas. The service was impeccable and top notch. Our dinner was absolutely delicious and the table side bananas foster was out of this world amazing! I highly recommend you come and have dinner here. The atmosphere was old school Vegas and comfortable. This is what Vegas used to be and still is at this restaurant!

My husband and I came here for the first time yesterday and we've lived here all our life, passing it constantly. So we decided why not change that and try this legendary classic everyone speaks of.
AMBIENCE (5/5): Nicely dim lit atmosphere. There was a lot of noise as I was surprised there were so many guests on a weekday. But I didn't mind it and there was a lot to see on the walls. It also looked a lot bigger then I expected as there were a bunch of groups coming to dine in.
FOOD (3.5/5): We specifically came here for the steaks as that is what they were known for. I did get Oysters cause I couldn't refuse and it had a mild brine flavor, it was pretty good. The appetizers, soup and salad were wonderful and nothing to complain about there. My only gripe unfortunately is I thought my Prime Rib was too rare after asking med/rare and it was cold. My husband's looked a lot better then mine. But I suppose that's how they cook it so probably best to get it medium. Lastly desserts were perfect after all the food we had, not overly sweet but just right. Either way everything was delicious! And we got a complimentary cheesecake for our anniversary!
SERVICE (3/5): I honestly felt like they could have done a tad bit better just because all they did was give us a menu to figure it out on our own. The tables around us got the presentation of why they were known highly for their steaks and which one were great, recommended, and etc. We only got to overhear and figure it out from there. But afterwards they did tend to our table to check on us every now and again. However I felt like we weren't given the attention that the other guests received so hopefully that changes.
OVERALL: I'd love to come back here again and experience it a different way. Whether it be getting seafood (cause that's what I prefer) or getting a different cooked meat preference. Either way I can see why they are well known for their steaks. But hopefully our service will be a little better next time. Otherwise I highly recommend anyone to come here at least once! =)

Anything you get here won't be disappointing! Definitely worth visiting as one of the best steakhouses in Vegas. We ordered the 22oz bone-in ribeye and the char they put on it was glorious and it was cooked exactly how we wanted it. Not the least bit over or the least bit under. Everything pictured was split amongst two people and even better it was a lot more affordable than many other steakhouses! Our next goal is to tackle the tomahawk. Definitely coming back again.

It's a very cool old school joint with excellent steak. You'll hear Frank Sinatra in the background with traditional but relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Steak is excellent in flavor and the way they cooked it.
I ordered the filet and my friend ordered the porter. Perfect medium and medium rare respectively.
Definitely worth a visit and revisit. Make reservations ahead of time or if you venture in, seats at the bar is first come, first serve.
Bar tender and servers are very friendly! Excellent service.

What a wonderful dinner experience! Old school steak house with service and food that are just incredible. My husband had one of their signature rib eye steak dishes, it was cooked perfectly and tasted so good as it melted in your mouth. I have the Chicken of the Angels dish and I loved it. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was covered with garlic and sautéed mushrooms and full artichoke hearts. SO GOOD! We got 3 sides, the creamed corn, the creamed spinach and the toasted ravioli. All 3 were excellent.
The service was quick, pleasant and thorough. The atmosphere of the old school charm was wonderful with Sinatra tunes going on in the background. We will definitely be back!

Celebrated my birthday in the Frank Sinatra Booth - the service was impeccable and the drinks and food were outstanding. you are truly transported into Old Vegas and treated as if you were one of the many celebrities that frequent this might fine establishment. There are so many great dining options in Vegas - this ranks in the Top 3. Don’t second guess making that reservation- you will miss out on one of the greatest dining experiences offered😜

Great meal and atmosphere. Prices were to be expected for a place like this but I found it reasonable considering the popularity. I had the prime rib and it was amazing. Cool place overall. Old hang out of the Rat Pack (Sinatra, Davis and Martin) back in the day. We sat at John Wayne's booth.
Jim Allen
When you come Las Vegas and want a real dinning experience you can not miss The Golden Steer. Exceptional service, food and experience! We were able to sit in the Frank Sinatra’s booth, which is the BEST booth in the house. Get your reservations as soon as you can! And the Bananas Foster! Wow! 💯

Phenomenal Food and Service! Our server Ricardo was amazing and our salad server Erich was just as great. We called Saturday night for last minute reservation and they were able to accommodate our large party.
We even got a tour of the place. Steak and lobster is the best we've ever had. Highly recommend.

This place was amazing, we came for my Birthday and I loved every moment of it.. I've always heard good things about this place, but experiencing it now, those reviews didn't do it justice! The food was great, the atmosphere, the servers were all wonderful.. we had Carlos and he was wonderful! We will definitely be celebrating future special occasions here!

Great ambiance, local vibes, old school Vegas feel. Definitely want to book in advance. Not a place to just show up. We sat in the bar area. P
Food- AMAZING! I had the lamb with mint. Great choice.

Attending a private birthday party here in the private back room. Food was delicious, waiter was informative and whitty. Only thing that was a bummer was we didn't get to see the 'Cesar salad show' we were told about because the cart didn't really fit in our room with the amount of people we had and the fact that it did take a while to get our food after ordering it. Other then that, it was a pleasant surprise! I wish I had more steak, shrimp, and sides as I type this review.

Waited months for the reservation. We arrived with very high expectations. Was not entirely impressed. For our group the waiter missed a few opportunities and the specials missed the mark
Our group of 4 ordered 2 two person specials. One, the Tomohawk, the other steak and lobster. Neither was met with much success when compared to past comparable steak houses of similar stature. In fact the lobster was chewy and the steaks, average. The twice baked potato was over salted and dry. The other sides we had were very good.
Our waiter abandoned us after our meal was ordered but the bussing staff was excellent. This was disappointing and led to us avoiding dessert. Of course the check was delivered without fail. The restaurant was very busy, but for the price....
The ambiance was good and the place definitely feels like a throw back to old Vegas. Even the neighborhood is a classic if a bit sketchy now.
If this is your first steakhouse destination you may give it high marks. Compared to everything else Vegas has to offer, it was only above average for our group.
Mikhail Aspen
Solid steak. Cooked under ask but made for good leftover. Service top notch. Would return. The dessert flame theatrics are pretty note worthy. The 12 oz lobster tail was superb!

This restaurant came up on my TikTok feed a year ago and it looked so good that I told myself “the next time I’m in Vegas I am going to try it”. Well I made it to Vegas (made a reservation two months before I got here) and this restaurant did not disappoint. When you pull up to the strip mall where the restaurant is located, it doesn’t look like much but trust me once you get inside the world will change. The ambiance and decor reminds me of New York City steakhouses that have been around since the forty’s and fifty’s. This is the oldest steakhouse in Las Vegas (est 1958). Now to my review of the food. Oh my by far one of the best steakhouses I’ve been to. I had the Caesar salad which is made at the table and it was top notch. I had the surf and turf which was a 12 ounce NY Strip and a south Australian lobster tail and this was worth every dollar. I say that because the dish was $150. The steak was charred and seasoned perfectly and the best steak I have had. The lobster tail was sweet and delicious. I was having a hard time trying to determine which one I was going to eat first. The stuffed mushrooms and mushroom burgundy were delicious and the mushrooms were jumbo sized. We also had the twice baked potato and I am not a big potato eater but this dish was delicious as well. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. The price range is $$$$+ because it’s Vegas, but definitely worth it.

When we arrived it was very busy and needed to wait to be seated due to all of our party had not arrived together due to delays with taxis. They let us know they do not set parties that are not 100% complete, even though we made a reservation, we had to wait out in the lobby where there was very little setting room and they didn't allow you to sit at the bar and have a drink beforehand. When we got seated we were telling our server how we needed our check divided since we were a large group. He quickly stated they do not split checks, which is ridiculous and uncustomer friendly. The food did come out hot and as expected, the prices were a little more on the high end than we expected. When we all got ready to pay near the end it became a fiasco and the server still had to stand there at the table and divide the ticket by couples. This is one of the most inconvenient things and bad customer service that I have experienced at a restaurant, it makes no sense to me at all. We will not go back. It ruins the entire experience for our group.

Came here for our anniversary while on vacation. Great atmosphere, old school Vegas steakhouse feel, service was great, not pretentious at all for the price point. Servers really seem to be passionate about providing a great experience. Off the strip but worth the trip. Table side Caesar salad was awesome, steak and sides were amazing too. Definitely check this place out if you are in town!
Justin R
First time there...Amazing experience. Wendy and her staff were above and beyond professional. Everyone made you feel at home. Alfredo was a wonderful server. Steaks were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Will make this our go to special Vegas treat night from now on. Thanks for great night!

If you're looking for a nice classy steakhouse, this is the place. Everything, from vibe to food and service, was great! Their cocktails are made with creativity and taste really good. Highly recommend! It's the oldest steakhouse in town BTW.

The Steer is so heavily discussed and recommended, it's almost hard to live up to that aura. But it did! And more. Fantastic overall experience. Food was A+. Service (Bryant? Or Bryan) was A+. Atmosphere was dark and old school and mobster and exactly what you think it looks inside from the outside. Just different than newer steakhouse. Loved it. Guy's nights and we had so much fun. Will be back ASAP!!
Bret Leiker
Great Caesar salad at table. Great staff. Great food, but we have great steak in Kansas city as well. Compared it's over priced. They stress dress code, but many violations there. The also never mentioned special occasion, and we noted on reservation (birthday/honeymoon). There are better places in Vegas. Only went as it was mob/Sinatra hang out
Grant Chun
A true classic in Las Vegas. This place oozes class and history. I loved the Diamond Jim Cut of the Prime Rib and Creamed Spinach + their Caesar Salad. Also had myself a glass of Perfect Manhattan and Sazerac. If you want to experience a real old school gem of a steakhouse in Las Vegas (And not the "modern" spots in the strip), then come here. You'll love it.

My wife and I was invited by a good friend to have dinner here at the Golden Steer Steakhouse in Las Vegas. It was a great experience and the atmosphere was good with only a couple issues for me for the evening. It was quite noisy and a lady right behind our table must have thought her table was the only table in the room because she was extremely loud talking and laughing. I was surprised the staff didn't have a talk with her. Other than a small head ache the service and food lived up to it's reputation. The waiters all had tuxedos on and three to four waiters work your table to your every need. The food was very good and it was fun watching the waiter make the Caesar dressing scratch table side. There were some other flames flaring up in the room for other great meals also. Knowing how many famous people that have eaten her makes your experience very nostalgia. If you want to go to someplace special this is the place.

What a classic joint - you can practically feel the history in the place!! I sat at the bar and enjoyed a wonderful prime rib cut. Don’t miss out of the twice-baked potato! The bar staff was very kind and very knowledgeable. Drinks were perfect, and so was the service. This is definitely a new “must” for me when visiting LV.

This place really doesn’t need my help in advertising how great it is. It’s an institution, super busy and justifiably so: ate at the bar, which is my favoured place to dine, and it was all superb. Service was ace, drinks were perfect for the place, and the food was all top class, but mostly it was the vibe I wanted and couldn’t get enough of
Bryan S
Very popular old school vegas institution. Do not go early…. This place gets too busy to expect to get seated early. You will have to enjoy a cocktail at the bar if you do. The steak was amazing. Melt in your mouth stuff.

Somehow it gets better every time we eat here. Golden Steer is hands down the best Steak House in Las Vegas, and quite possibly the best Steak House I've ever been to. The Tomahawk for 2 is a must have with Mac & Cheese, Baked Potato, and their famous Ceasar Salad. The Service was excellent, professional and very tasteful(They recognized my attire). We were seated in the Joe Dimaggio booth, well poured Jameson & Cokes complimented our meal. Next time I plan a trip to Vegas the Golden Steer is our first (and maybe even last) stop.
Michael Chang
Old school, classic steakhouse. Walked in at 4:40pm with no reservation. Got seated immediately at the high top tables next to the bar. Ordered the Longhorn and Lobster dinner for two. Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Lobster was a little chewy on the smaller/narrow end (where we started), but tender on the thicker end.
Our waiter Corey was friendly and attentive. I assume the bar shared the service as the bartender came out a few times to ask if everything was good and if we needed more drinks.
Note: creamed corn had a “dash” of cinnamon and could come off strong on your first bite.
Dave Danekas
You walk in and immediately get surrounded by truly classic Vegas. It's stepping back in time and in a great way. Loved the vibe, a rich history, the booths, Sinatra singing his hits. We heard to ask for a booth, our hostess was very nice and got us one. The food was excellent! We went Bone-in Rib-eye and the Petite Filet. Perfectly seasoned and totally satisfying. We shared the Lyonnaise Potatoes and deliberately skipped salad in favor of dessert. The Bananas Foster is a winner and prepared tableside! Our service team were all about providing a lovely evening of dining. Prices are appropriate for a high end dinning experience with a casual feel. Absolutely would visit again!

Wow what an Experience!! Found this place by watching TikTok foodie videos
We had a fantastic time eating at the Golden Steer - it was a short ride off the strip from our hotel, I’d recommend Uber since parking was hard to find. Walked into the past, this was what my dreams of an amazing Steak Restaurant was back 30 years ago, dark hardwood ambiance on the bar, on the walls there were old western star paintings, rifles encased, Steer horns, perfect lighting and super friendly staff!!
Our Favorite worker for the night was Venko he’s been working their for over 30 years and no job was to small for him, we saw him helping clean off tables, helping staff bring out food, make Caesar salad table side for folks, help folks get seated at their table, and cleaning up in the kitchen!!
We sat in the Holly Madison booth we had a great 👀 view of the restaurant. Started with a Caesar, tried the escargot, ordered a Lobster and Steak to share, and had a great bottle of wine that was suggested from their wine guy!! Overall a Fantastic night!! My Honey and I had a spectacular evening, we will definitely be back!
John Cerul
Such a great place with so much history. It's actually the oldest steak house in Vegas. There is so much memorabilia on the walls to look at as well. The food and service were both outstanding. My only complaint is that they seated 4 of us in to a table that was probably for 2. The server had a hard time even placing all of our food on the table because of it.
Ben Klenke
My wife and I went to Golden Steer to celebrate her birthday. Everything was perfection and the restaurant more than lived up to its reputation.
The atmosphere was wonderful with callbacks to old Vegas. The wedge salad and French onion soup were delicious.
The filets were perfectly prepared with the twice baked potato a particular stand out.
For dessert we picked both tiramisu and chocolate cake. Both were perfect and delicious. One of the best meals we’ve ever had.
Oh… and they serve Coke products! Hallelujah!
Sue Hubbard
Always a wonderful experience! Fabulous food, fabulous service. Definitely make a reservation, or you'll be finding somewhere else to dine. Also, this is a high end establishment, so if you're looking for Mortons or Ruth's Chris prices, you'd better dine there because you won't be paying that here, but like I mentioned, it's well worth the price.
Monique Quiros
Come prepared to spend at least $300 plus gratuity for 2 people. Drinks are an average of $15 each. Make reservations (from what I could tell online, they’re booked out about two weeks).
Online it says they have a dress code for gentleman however did not appear to be enforced at all when I went on a Monday night.
I was also under the assumption that it probably was not a place for kids however I was wrong as well, there were a handful of kids that night that my husband and I went. I did ask the host to sit us away from the kids as we were there for an anniversary dinner and our kids were at the babysitter. They obliged. I don’t need the Pirates to come for me, I don’t think all places are appropriate for kids and this would be one of the places I don’t think is a good venue for children.
The Tomahawk was to die for; crab legs were a huge disappointment as they were over cooked (rubbery and hard to take out); whipped potatoes were nice consistency and good flavor, asparagus was super bland as if they boiled it and put in a plate (we used the melted butter and lemon from the crab legs for the asparagus which made it better); the Caesar salad was made tableside and it was quite tasty with a hint of spice, and the bread before the meal was great.
The parking was tight but free, right outside of the front door.
The wait staff was pleasurable and knowledgeable about the history related to the restaurant and told each table a story about the secret mob entrance and exit.
My recommendations: Tomahawk from Golden Steer, Cesar Salad from Johnny Mac’s, Bread from Outback, service from Flemmings, Crab Legs from Lawrys = the perfect surf and turf meal.
Alan
What an amazing place. As others say, don't judge the outside. Listen to the reviews. Yes, it's expensive for not being on strip. There's a reason why it's as popular as it is. Food met the expectations that come along with the price and Service was top notch and maybe a but rushed but we took our time and enjoyed every minute of it.
Jason Loucks
Great atmosphere and staff. Your drink will be constantly topped off. The steaks were flavorful and the strawberry cheesecake is definitely worth the price given the ratio of cheesecake to strawberries.
DANNYDOORMAN28
Overall place was fantastic. Parking is somewhat limited but we didn’t have a hard time to find a spot late night in a Monday. The service was excellent. Food options were great. We had the filet mignon 12oz, 24oz Ribeye, baked potato, and drinks (not pictured). We were not aware of the special booths at this location but strongly recommended a celebrity booth reservation if available. Music was great with picture perfect lighting to set the tone. We would definitely come back and a must if you want a great overall experience. Reservations strongly recommended. Be ready for quality food and service ! Keep up the great work guys !
omnipresent original
Carlos our waiter was A1 ! Everything was perfect we had such a good time everyone there is pleasant and super nice it's definitely a vibe in there the min you walk in the entire dinner was about $151 we didn't go crazy tonight and we didn't get dessert I thought the prices were affordable and I'll definitely be back to try the steaks I came for the ceasers salad I kept hearing good things about it and it lived up to my expectations it was definitely one of the best salads I've ever had even my mom said the same thing you definitely have to come in and try it it was a 10/10 for me
Heidy Carrizales
Great food. Make sure to make a reservation to get a table. Staff is very attentive. It was our first time here and they took the time to explain the menu. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary.
Darryl Brown
Wow. Best steak I've ever had 🥩.
The fillet rare was cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding. Learned a little about the history of the place and the celebs who've dined there.
They also did a superb Old Fashioned to round off the meal.
Michael Green
Golden Steer has a reputation as one of the best Steak houses in Vegas. First know there is a business casual dress code. Service was impeccable. Shrimp appetizer had 4 butterflied shrimp in butter and garlic was superb. The 10 oz prime rib was perfect. The side of twice baked potato was mediocre, dry and lacked some flavor. All in all was great steak for being a high end steak house.
My Le
The oldest steakhouse in Vegas since 1958. Home to many famous peeps and known for prime rib, New York and filet. Dress code enforced, think old Hollywood vibe. Frank Sinatra in the house. But, really, people were dressed casual just no open toe, hat, tanks, shorts. Although, I did see ONE guy wearing shorts.
I got the 8oz petite filet mignon ($64) a side of lyonnaise potatoes ($12) and sautéed mushrooms ($12). Our table got escargot to share and table side Caesar salad ($17) per person.
In terms of portion size, the 8oz was perfect cut and size for me. The sides could really be shared among 3-4 people comfortably not per person because it’s an entire plate. The salad was not worth $17 per person. We did per couple because it’s a huge plate that’s easily shared between 2 or even more.
In terms of quality and taste, my medium 8oz had the best seasoning. Usually I need A1 but it tasted delicious by itself. Not many places make lyonnaise potatoes. In fact, I’ve only been to one other place and was not a fan. Hesitate to order it this time but I’m so glad I did because it was the winner of the night. They are thinly sliced pan fried potatoes sautéed with butter and onions. Yum!

The Golden Steer. What an experience.
The ambiance gives you like old mob boss mixed with western. The sever, Humberto, was amazing, very nice and always checking in. Everyone was actually very kind and attentive.
Let's dive in on what really matters then, shall we. The drinks we ordered were the golden steer (champange glass) and the golden sunset (martini sunset), they were both delicious but the golden steer was definitely the winner for me.
For the meal, we tried the surf and turf special which was a NY steak, lobster tail, 2 sides, and soup or salad. The ceaser salad was good, but the real star was the French onion soup 🍲 😋 The steak 🥩 was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the charred outside was delectable 👏 The lobster was not my favorite, but I will admit I am bais as I'm more of the "turf" lover , but my partner did enjoy the lobster tail.
Finally we had the cheesecake for dessert, I didn't think there'd be much to say, but man this cheesecake was next level, so soft and not stiff as you might expext !
Obviously, this is special occasion dining, for us it was our anniversary. Unless you are big money, then dine here as often as you like lol
Daniel Crawshaw
My son and I ate here after I won some money at the casino and decided to splurge and spend it all on an amazing big dinner. I strongly recommend a reservation, as the oldest and best steakhouse in LV always fills up. Wait staff dressed in tuxedos and really treated us with exceptional service, we were never ignored and they all paid attention to detail, got our order correct and did their jobs professionally. This establishment wouldn't be the oldest and best in Vegas if the food wasn't able to compete with some of the newer trendy restaurants on the strip. Let's just say that sometimes doing things the old fashioned way is better; I can see why entertainment stars, mobsters and out of Towner's like us have enjoyed eating here. Great food, atmosphere and will continue to be around for decades. I'm definitely going back next time I'm in Vegas to eat at the best steakhouse in town and looking forward to having a lobster with a fat juicy steak.
Kyle Booker
Golden Steer is the EPITOME of class. From Sinatra to Elvis, it has stood the tests of time and it is still as popular today as it was way back when. It simply doesn’t get any better than this in terms of a steakhouse in Vegas or anywhere else for that matter. Every time we visit, we end our trip here before we go back home to Texas. We highly recommend!
Jessie Perkins
Hands down, the BEST dinner we have ever had! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, food is fabulous, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Worth every penny!
Aster914
The restaurant was busy the night we went. We enjoyed the “old school” vibe. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We appreciated how they were attentive but also gave you time and space to enjoy dinner. We started with the mushroom caps and seafood platter. We loved the mushroom caps but the seafood was a little bland. Then we moved on to the tableside prepared caesar salad. It was fresh and tasty. I ordered the lamb chops and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye. We both like our meats medium rare but both entrees came out medium well. Regrettably, we had to send everything back. Including the dry mac and cheese. Our waiter James decided to start the whole thing over and brought back everything cooked to our liking and delicious! The manager came by our table to apologize and make sure that we are well attended. We appreciate their efforts to make it an amazing experience. Despite the hiccup, we will definitely come back.

Fantastic Atmosphere and history surrounds this place. And you can see how it's stood up to the test of time: the food and drinks are amazing! This is what you'd expect a Las Vegas Steak house to be. You should eat here at least once!
WILLIAM JUSTINIANO III
One of the oldest steakhouses in LV. Old school rat pack vibes with decor to match. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time to avoid a possible long wait. Staff is is top tier & the food is simply put delicious. Will definitely recommend & return here again! Thanks.

Absolutely phenomenal...the steak was so perfectly seasoned and the service was top-notch. Stay away from the strip, over priced and gimmicky food and come enjoy a perfectly curated delight! You will not leave unhappy. Wow! Just wow!
Ian Simon
This is not a restaurant that rests on its laurels. The attention to detail with the food and the service is exceptional! From arrival to departure, including cocktail's at the bar, I couldn't find fault with anything! The table side Ceasar, was, by far, the best Ceasar I've ever had. The dover sole (fileted tableside), amazing!. In additional, my wife and I, are extremely picky when it comes to steak Temps. Every steak at the table was exactly as ordered. To be clear, my wife and are locals (for 33 year's) we've driven past this restaurant thousands of time's, but we dismissed it as a "strip restaurant". No disrespect, but strip restaurants tend to rush you in and out and are rarely personable. Thanks for a memorable evening, we'll be back very soon.
Dwayne Bivens
I definitely recommend this place. The food was outstanding but the service was AMAZING!
I would advise having reservations; we didn't and just walked in. We found two seats at the bar and offered immediately.
I injured watching the Bartenders. It was classic and they were very attentive to all of their patrons and were knowledgeable about the menu items as well.
Our waitress was just great. I wish I could remember her name. We have her a well deserved $70 tip (20%).
It was expensive but worth EVERY bite. It was the last meal, of the last day, of our 20th Anniversary trip to Las Vegas.
We created a lot of great memories.
Andy Houser
The absolute BEST MEAL I have had ANYWHERE in my life!! The steaks and Ceasar salads are perfection!! The staff were amazing. The atmosphere was phenomenal! They worked extremely hard to make our dining experience a life long memory. Loved all the history and pictures of celebrities that have dined here.
Armani Minter
Great, Great!!! Customer services. The table side salad was a litte oily. The steak was okay, and lobster was very tasty, sides were good as well. The drinks was great!!

I visit LV first time for CES. This steakhouses very closer the hotel I living and have highest rank in Google maps. When I finish CES work, I just want to find a delicious restaurant and release the stress. So that, I working to Golden Steer. The lobster is scrumptious! The cappuccino drink is also smooth. There atmosphere feeling like a drink bar. Totally, it very good for Saturday night.

Excellent food and service. My 8 oz Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and we also enjoyed the Caesar Salad prepared at our table side. I will definitely come back when I’m in Vegas again. Thank you Golden Steer for a fine night of dining.

Before I start…everyone has an off day now and then.
This I could describe as a really off day.
Our visit was on a Monday evening, 6:30 reservations.
We arrived a 10 minutes early. Had a. 20 minute wait before being seated in a nice booth.
Our young waiter gave us menus, water and asked if we wanted drinks. My wife ordered tea. I ordered a Bloody Mary w/ Grey Goose.
Our waiter came back and we ordered. Salad, Petite Filet, Filet, baked potato. Salad was delivered. Salad was finished and picked up.
30 minutes in and our food arrives…no drinks. I asked another waiter (older) to ask our waiter about our drinks. He acted embarrassed. He came back and apologized and said the (drinks) would be there immediately. They were. He came back and apologized and said our dessert would be free. After the meal, our original young waiter delivers an unordered cheese cake as the apology. What? My wife said thanks, but she wanted chocolate cake not cheese cake. This young guy needs some formal direction or the door not hit him in the butt as he exits. I’m not sure his heart is in this.
We visit Las Vegas twice a year a do at least once during week stays. We have enjoyed The Steakhouse (Circus Circus), Hugo’s Cellar, Oscars, Capital Grille. We have never had such unprofessional service as experienced on this visit.
Now for food reviews.
Petite Filet (medium well) flavor was good but slightly over cooked
Filet (medium) - cooked perfectly, juicy - taste was good not great
Baked Potato - fantastic
House Salad w/Ranch Dressing - Great all around
Chocolate cake - a chocolate lovers dream!
We won’t be returning but hopefully our service issues are only a one off and you hopefully won’t experience these.

This steakhouse has crazy hype and history as the oldest in Vegas. We made a reservation weeks out. As a good ol' Iowa boy, I know a thing or two about a good steak and they deliver on the Prime Rib. We also had the garlic parm shrimp starter, which was fantastic. However, the twice baked potato side was dried out & unimpressive. The recommended mushroom side just wasn't that good.
Service was great, like you'd expect, even if a little cold. Heard the same exact speach from our waitress at each table that sat around us. Nothing personal or overly welcoming.
It's expensive. $250 for two people, with only one drink each. More then we're used to, but had planned for.
Overall, it's worth the trip, the money and the time. I just don't think I'd return for round two.
Darius Elder
Golden Steer...what can I say, old school Vegas steak house. They can make a steak boy. Fantastic!!! I had the porterhouse with sweet cream corn. Be sure to get a sazarac. It was really a great meal.
Amber Brown
Absolutely amazing! Hands down the best steak I've ever eaten. The salad was made table side as well as the dessert. Can't wait to visit again.
Abe G
Great food! The tomahawk steak was delish and the Service was Awesome!! Cesar salad dressing and banana dessert made fresh next to your table.
Nicole Church
It is historical place, welcoming & service is fantastic! We ordered steak, lobster tail & crab legs. My favorite of all was the steak & of course sauteed mushrooms.
Lui Rivera
Best steak that I had! And their cheesecake too. Great service. Very nostalgic inside, feelin the vibes of the old Las Vegas. Worth visiting.
Josh
Very nice place, although I arrived 30 min before closing which normally I would never do but I had to go back to Fl. the next day, they allowed me to dine, best lobster and great Filet Mignon, iconic restaurant where a lot of famous legends ate. Only drawback is it's expensive!
vito chiarito
Great vintage steak house with old time Vegas history. If these walls could talk people..This steak house has been here since 1958. Steaks and lobster were awesome. Service was outstanding. Pricey but exceptional.
Jim Donohue
Wow!!! What an absolutely amazing dining experience.
Best table made salad we've ever had. We enjoyed the Tomahawk steak for two. Absolutely mind blowing piece of meat.
By far the best steak I've had in my 50 years here on earth. Mind blowing!!!!
The servers are by far the most professional people I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. Knowledge, and care for your well being was way beyond our expectations.
The adult beverages were delicious and made perfectly.
Don't waste your time at any other steak house in Vegas, come experience a bit of history and enjoy the Golden Steer.
10 star loacation!!!
Keith Rovin
Good food and great service but be prepared to pay $$$$ for the experience. The Caesar salad was excellent, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the cocktail was good.
Heather
My fiancé took me here for my birthday while we were in Vegas. It couldn’t of been more perfect! I loved the atmosphere. The food and the staff were all great! Definitely a place I will always come back to while I’m visiting Vegas!
Steven Richardson
It was good. I can't complain. I got the bone in rib eye and was larger than the advertised 24 oz. It's a classic place and your treated very well by the staff.
Kate H
I ate here in August and I only have good things to say about it. If you wanna go here, dress in nice clothes, make a reservation and make sure you save a good chunk of change. It’s expensive but well worth it. This is the best steak I’ve ever had, best French onion soup, best presentation, best and most attentive staff ever. I was checked by the staff multiple times to make sure I was enjoying my food and that everything was done to my standards. They were genuinely kind and it’s a very romantic setting. Very cool they show you which celebs sat at which tables too. For two people I’d suggest setting aside about 250-300 total BUT definitely try it out. I’ll be returning on my next vacation. I can’t brag about this place enough!
Jose Galvan
Food and ambiance was great, its best to have a reservation. We had the tomahawk with Caesar sald, Mac and cheese, loaded potato.
Tomahawk was great along with the Mac and cheese. Salad was and loaded potato were okay.
Cocktails were not my preference.
Thomas Carter
Great steak and amazing service!... Sides go great with steak (potato & cream spinach).. Cooked to perfection!.. All hosts were more than attentive!.. Tiramisu and espresso to close out the night
Steve Blankenship
This place has been around since ‘58 I am glad I dropped in for a filet, I wanted a nice meal for my last night in town. I Got the 12oz Filet med rare and boy was it worth every bite. If you’re looking for a great steakhouse in Vegas - THIS IS IT!

Service was impeccable. Professional, polite, and flexible. I am allergic to all seafood and fish, and wasn't aware that caeser salad had anchovies in it, so I learned something. Instead of cancelling my order, the waiter made the salad for my friends, then came back and made me one without anchovies. Very considerate.
Food, well long story I have never had chicken parmesan like this, just amazing. And the steak.. gosh...
Price, okay well good service and good food come at a price, but, I gotta say... It's worth it. Must try

Hubby's 40th bday dinner was fabulous last year. I did lots of research before picking The Golden Steer, and so glad I did. We had a fantastic time. Everything was perfect. Food was super and waiters were so attentive and friendly. Cocktails were amazingly delicious. We Uber from Paris Hotel, and back. Love love using Uber in vegas. We go to Vegas 3x yearly minimum, and stop by here every single time before flying home. The Caesar salad was made at the table, dressing made from scratch.. AMAZING!!
Javier Melendez
Service was great! Loved the decor and ambiance and of course the food and drinks were top notch. We'll come here everytime we're in Vegas from now on
Jeanine Galtman
The food was amazing, the service was amazing. Everyone was so nice I will definitely be back. Such a fun place to come old school vibes. Highly recommend 👌
Karja Keller
Amazing atmosphere and high class status. The food was amazing. We're definitely coming back. This year we made sure to stay in Vegas just so we could go back to the Golden Steer since it was our second time eating there.
A Sabbagh
This is an experience you shouldn’t miss when you’re in Vegas. The best steak I’ve had so far, highly recommended!! Frankly, from outside, the place doesn’t look like a big shot, but wait till you step inside. The service was amazing, the staff are so professional and super friendly.
Kurvee Tee
This place was divine!! Food was amazing the oysters and the lump crab were perfection. And the salad still served table side with dressing made in the same spot was truly a treat!! But that steak was butteeeeerrr!!! Sooo delicious and juicy well cooked man I’ll definitely be back
Katherine Webb
Everyone was so kind and so practiced, and they all made our wedding night dinner feel special. A fancy, old school steakhouse, with sterling versions of all the classics. In particular, the mushrooms burgundy were 🌈fabulous, tasty, savory, impeccable. Highly recommend for any celebration! …
Mary Wyatt
We were at Golden Steer in mid-march to celebrate a birthday! We sat in the Marilyn Monroe booth and had Tommy as our server. The service is impeccable! I highly recommend the bananas foster that they prepare for you at table side. The food is excellent! We will definitely go back!
Anna Behring
Make a reservation! I had a reservation and it made things so seamless. Although they had a small “issue” with their stove when we got there, they still made up for this with the amazing service, food, and ambiance! I will definitely be going back for my next date night!
Steven A
This is the best place to get a great meal. The atmosphere is awesome. We have always enjoyed our meal. Definitely will come back again.
Tyler Goff
If you're reading this then you have come far enough... I'm a Steakhouse connoisseur living in cattle country capital Montana! Golden Steer Steakhouse did not disappoint.
One suggestion I have for the restaurant. The booths are so iconic and a great photo opportunity. Set a booth replica up in your waiting room with a camera person and offer picture after dining. Or gives the guest a chance to pose for selfies or photo opps.
Sheed Mack
The absolute best steak that I've ever had in my life. And I've been to Flemings, Mastro's, Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen, Houston's, etc. We had the 35oz Tomahawk steak shared amongst 3 people w/asparagus and Lyonnaise potatoes. The steak was a special addition to the menu. Our Caesar salad was prepared tableside as the dressing was hand-made. As well was our desert "Cherries Jubilee" The steak was amazing on its own with no added sauces, but the accompanying rock salt took it over the top.
Martin Gougeon
Wow, Great Experience! Great service! Great Steak. Restaurant has incredible history, worth asking about it and getting the tour.
David Servin
A rustic vibe that definitely has the essence of classic Las Vegas. A bit pricey, but is definitely worth it. The food was excellent, our server. Jonathan was amazing and attentive, and they even brought out some cheesecake to help celebrate our anniversary. My partner definitely loved it and has expressed his desire to return. The prime rib was delicious and thick, and the mushrooms were so yummy!! Definitely recommend.
Charles Hanna
While I have aspired to dine in this legendary establishment even with advance planning, i have found their popularity makes getting a reservation a challenge. That said, let me just say they are by far the best steak delivery service I’ve ever used. The quality, packaging and presentation are second to none. Perfectly cut and trimmed and that exceptional Prime Beef quality. It is a household favorite for personal consumption and a great gift to the special people in your life. Love this company and their products.
Stephanie A
Took my mom out to a very special dinner at the Golden Steer. Our server was Carlos and he absolutely made our experience the best we’ve ever had! The seafood stuffed mushrooms were to die for. The filet and blackened salmon was top notch. Make sure to get a reservation at least two weeks in advance. We will be back every time we’re in town.
Jocelyn Antillon
Service was excellent. Carlos, Alfredo, and Bryant took great care of us. Food was beyond delicious and the ambiance was great.
Kabir Khan
Loved the vibe. We sat at the Elvis Presley booth. Best drink ever-- Sinatra's Whiskey. And the eggplant parmagina rock. We WILL be back!
Scott McGowan
The Golden Steer is awesome, I had a great meal there. The service was excellent, Tommy the bartender makes a great old fashioned and is very personable. The escargot was very good, steak was cooked perfectly and the grand finale of Bananas Foster tableside was fun. All this on top of great Las Vegas history. This is a must experience restaurant.
Leonty Popov
This steakhouse place is the best place I’ve ever visited in years!!! Appetizers like meat balls with marinara sauce is excellent and best ones I had since 2012, Caesar salad is right on point, Longhorn Steak was perfectly cooked, sautéed mushrooms were fantastic, and The Golden steer drink from a bar OMG. It’s the best one I’ve had in years!!!!
Bartender Staff like Leo that I met him and mines name is also Leo which people call me lol, had great times!!!
VIP that let us enter to this restaurant, is very respectful and very friendly!!!
Overall, I recommend to everyone who comes to Las Vegas to visit restaurants and places, go straight to this steakhouse!!! Hands down this is the best steakhouse restaurant I’ve ever been since 2012!!!!
John Concialdi
My go to place for amazing steak. Only one place that makes a filet that can compete with what I do at home. Its kind of a hole in the wall location but don't let that fool you. Several famous and infamous people visited Golden Steer. I think it is one of the first steak houses in LV. We just learned we can request "The Mob Room" next time. Its a little pricey at $3K, but I can bring 12 people to split it. And being of Sicilian/Italian decent i have to do it. I only have 1 pic of the shrimp cocktail because we dig into the staggering good dinner.
Sara Parente
Came here for authentic Vegas experience and it did not disappoint! This place has that classic Steakhouse atmosphere with great food to match. We got the tomahawk for 2 and it was excellent. I will be dreaming of their table side Ceasar! Definitely worth every penny. Service was outstanding as well!
ALEX HERNANDEZ
Great place to have dinner in Vegas. Everything is delicious! Ceaser dressing made on the spot infront of you. Lobster tail and steak are great portions. Parking could be better, but I would park a block away to eat here. Staff is top notch!
Nathan Hawkes
I guess this is the oldest and longest running steakhouse in Las Vegas. There must be a reason for that and it’s because they serve *really good* food. They are known for their steaks. The bone in ribeye is amazing. Fantastic taste, and cooked just perfectly (medium) as I asked. The bathrooms are clean, the staff is ultra friendly, and the food is appropriately priced. It’s typically a little bit private and fairly quiet. If you decide to dine here, you will not regret it.
Lael Calton
Best steakhouse ever! My husband and I have been traveling to Vegas for decades and always considered dining at Golden Steer Steakhouse but chose to dine at fine dining restaurants on the strips...exclusively. Never again! We will always make dining reservations at Golden Steer. Simply the best prime beef cuts and cooked to perfection. Seriously, you will not be disappointed!
He fights for me
$$$$ Beginning with the hostess who greeted us to our Host and on to our Server they were very courteous and friendly. First class service! Food was prepared to perfection and melted in your mouth. Dinner rolls were nothing spectacular nor was the slice of birthday cheesecake. Must have a reservation. Casual dress ok but most are dressed up. There's much history in this place! Back in the day Anyone who was Anyone had their own table and a photo of them is placed above their table. I wanted a picture of Elvis Presley's table but it was occupied. Next time around. [Side note... the only place that we've been to before it closed down that out-ranked this place was Billy Bob Thornton's Steakhouse in Las Vegas that was located in Sam's Town. The absolute best! Steaks so fresh and tender and juicy you could use a butter knife. Salads green and crisp. They made their very own dinner rolls and croutons. Potatoes were mouthwatering. Drinks were top shelf . Two could eat for about $150. Just saying....]
Jason Herbert
Always the best!! Come down every trip. Table made Caeser is amazing. Don’t go anywhere else for steak. Golden Steer is the first and last word on Vegas dinning
Jen Peckinpaugh
Visiting here celebrating on our honeymoon. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and incredible food. We shared the 36 oz Tomahawk special for two. Cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit on our next visit to Las Vegas!
Justin Mackiewicz
Bryon and Bryant were awesome. One of the best dinners I have since the pandemic.
Mikey Kay (Fire & Smoke BBQ)
We had our anniversary dinner here and it was another beautiful meal for us. The sides are huge and shareable. I’m very happy with our visit.
t. gaspar
Restaurant foodies, if you'd like to experience what it was like to dine at a classic Las Vegas steak restaurant via 1960's and try the off the strip Golden Steer Steakhouse. Steaks are the finest and the service impeccable. Prices match strip steakhouses. Great for locals to celebrate special occasions.
Vivian Tseng
Everything was delicious form the food to the cocktails, service was exceptional! I definitely recommend while going to Vegas if you love steak.
Mike M
I’m not sure I can say more than what has already said. This place is the real deal. The steaks are top notch, the service and experience is unmatched. Just all around incredible. Get the tableside Caesar for sure.
Wild Cat
A Vegas experience! Lets start with GREAT service! The steaks were AMAZING! The macaroni was great! The lobster was a little over cooked and the baked potatoes were undercooked. An upscale facility like this should have the best, hand stuffed blue cheese martini olives on the planet (instead of the ghetto, out of the jar generic versions currently being served). All in all, the facility warrants a visit from everyone looking for a first class steakhouse.
Joe Marzan
Outside might look unassuming, but once you get past the front door, you're transported back to a restaurant right out of old time Hollywood. We've never had service like this before. It was as if the whole restaurant staff was there just for us. Clearing the tables, filling our water, making our Bananas Foster right there at the table. The shrimp appetizer, Caeser salad, NY Strip steak, jumbo Australian lobster tail, creamed corn, twiced baked potato, and finally the bananas foster, were all delicious.
Elizabeth Davie
I've been meaning to get here for years. It was a let down. The best thing about my meal was the salad. Everything else was fine but the bill...wow was it expensive! Save money and get better food at a better steak house, there are so many of them.
John Anonymous
The Golden Steer was a great experience. I have been seeing other recent reviews complaining about pricing, but if you are comparing to Steak Houses on the Strip or Downtown, the Golden Steer is a great value and wonderful outing.
The food was all high caliber. I started the evening with their signature Escargot dish. It had a nuanced balance of garlic and butter that was perfect to my palate. My only regret was I was distracted and didn’t get a chance to sop up a little more of the garlic butter left in the dish with my dinner rolls.
I always have to try the French Onion soup. They did not disappoint. I have only had better in one or two restaurants. A staple but they did it well.
I moved onto the filet and the twice baked potato. Both were excellent. The filet nicely seasoned and what can I say about the twice baked potato? It was a massive side accompaniment. This should not be surprising since they say they have the largest baked potato in Vegas. I saw one. They may be right. The twice baked potato had a flavor packed mix of cheese, chives and bacon that was delicious as well.
I finished with a piece of carrot cake that didn’t have that mass produced after taste many”chain” steak places have at times. Very moist and satisfying!
The drink menu offerings were great as well. They have a “Perfect Manhattan” that is one of the best I have had. I would also recommend the “Gold Fashion” as well. The wine list was decent as well as I found they had “8 years in the desert” blend on hand.
As good as I thought the food was the real stars was the exceptional staff. I would like to give Jonathon, Mauricio and the rest of the team Wednesday night a shout out for the incredible service that night.
It was a fantastic dinner for my 50th birthday. Thank you. I look forward to my next trip out west from Ohio for a second visit.
Joe Nino
Ah what can't be said about the Golden Steer? It's simply the best from top to bottom. Every single employee is great at their job and very friendly. They really go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time and ensure that all of your needs are met. Our server was very detailed with all the questions I had about the menu and aging processes of the steaks. I had the porterhouse steak, which was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection. The tableside Caesar salad was great. I enjoyed watching the ingredients that went into making the dressing. The lyonnaise potatoes were also a great compliment to the beef, I just wish there would have been more potatoes as opposed to the onions in the side dish. For dessert I opted for the strawberry cheesecake and cherries jubilee. The cheesecake was good; however the cherries jubilee was superb. I also had the dessert cappuccino, which was a nice way to close out the dinner. The Golden Steer delivered in a big way. I'll return on every trip to Vegas. Thank you
Big Rob
Food was great and also OK. Rib eye was perfectly cooked and seasoned but the porterhouse was the complete opposite. Not sure why but order the rib eye as the first choice. Also mashed potatoes tasted boxed but the house baked potatoe was good. The Caesar salad presentation was good and also tasted good (warning: it's a little fishy due to sardines but that's the result of fresh made compared to bottle made of other ingredients). Service was on point. The history of the place is awesome. Definitely recommend to go try it out.
Kristine Warren
The service was beyond excellent. We had 4 people always checking on us. They made sure you weren't overwhelmed with drinks, appetizers, entrees all coming out at once. Timing was impeccable. We ordered the porterhouse which was an amazing cut of beef. Half filet, half sirloin. Perfection. Also ordered the jumbo lobster tail. It is an Australian tail, not a Maine, so it's not as succulent, but still very large and amazing. You will not be disappointed here. We will be back!

We traveled from South Florida and had this placed pinned on our bucket list. Grandma was celebrating her 90th Birthday & we had been talking about it for weeks. Upon arrival the front of house was great and the food was as expected. The table service left much to be desired. It was not that service was bad, the servers were pleasant enough but not what would be expected from an establishment such as this. I would think that perhaps my expectations were the issue but as we sat there we saw table after table get the kind of service I would have expected. Let me explain… our table never had the menu explained to us although every table in front of us did. We were never asked if we were celebrating a special event, every other table was. The staff did fine at checking in with us on our meal but it was the basic hospitality I would expect at Longhorn not a restaurant of this caliber. The highlight of service was the gentlemen making salads and bananas foster (Alex I believe his name was) who was warm and friendly in his brief interactions with our table. Definitely not what was expected.
Carl
Amazing experience. Great service, great food and excellent drinks. Loads of fun history to learn from this establishment. Highly recommend it.
Abby Meraz
Had my wedding dinner here a year ago and just celebrated my one year anniversary with them again!! Every single person was so amazing!! The food was delicious! The ambiance was perfect but what amazed me the most is how well everyone works so well and treat you like you are the only one they are hosting. I will forever be coming back!
Robert G
Come here for my birthday every year and we just brought some family for a pre Christmas dinner. This is a classic Vegas steakhouse. The food, service, and atmosphere are amazing. Everyone in my family loved it. It will definitely be memorable for everyone involved. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are never left wanting, or needing, anything. It'll cost about $150+ per person but it's absolutely worth it.
Micah S
Do yourself a favor and book the reservation!
My husband and I spent our 3rd anniversary at Golden Steer on 9/3/22 and had the most amazing experience.
This restaurant has a dress code and you’re expected to adhere to it. It fits in with the wait staff in tuxes/suits and elegant dining experience you’ll receive though! Absolutely worth it. We had escargot, the table side CAESER, the prime rib, creamed spinach, whipped potatoes, an Italian cheesecake as an anniversary gift from the restaurant, bananas foster and the most delicious and spicy alcoholic beverage. Look to spend $100-150/person but expect to be treated like a celebrity and enjoy every single second of your experience here.
Amy Green
We were in Las Vegas for the women's boxing Hall of Fame and this was a MUST for dinner. Everything was GRAND. From the Rat Pack memorabilia to the service, we had Alejandro and a team of handsome, flawless servers. Steaks were perfect, cocktails perfect, sides were plenty and the tableside Caesar salad best I've had, and we even managed to top everything off with Bananas Foster... and nothing can top the old school classic vibe! Perfect evening.
John Dubal
The staff is so friendly, attentive and not pretentious which I love. Me and my buddy had the tomahawk special which was enough for two people we added the jumbo lobsters as well as shrimp cocktail for appetizer. Was so much food we barely finished it. Sized up your appetite wanted dessert but no room.
Kasey Kraft
Total old school and loved it! Food was fantastic and service was amazing! Steaks were cooked perfectly and the tableside Caesar was so delicious I think I'm ruined. Loved the nostalgic old pictures of the Rat Pack and others. There is a reason why this is one of the highest rated restaurants in Vegas...because it really is good! Make a reservation!
Ryan P
Loved the atmosphere. Our waiter gave us some history of the restaurant and welcomed all our questions. Excellent food, especially enjoyed the table side service for the Cesar salad and bananas foster. Awesome experience especially for those who want that old Las Vegas nostalgic feel.
Andrew Avila-Booth
Restaurant with a lot of history! Got a nice history lesson from one of the host's while dining. We sat in the VIP room where most of the Mafia of the mid-century would eat. Great steak, amazing lobster, great flavor all around. Their cocktails are great as well.
Misty K.
The food was good and service was great, everything else was fine. Glad I went once since it's a landmark of Vegas but it's not the fancy dining place it's wanting to be or once was. They warn of Strict dress code but it was actually very close to casual. Lots of jeans and shorts on the men.
The after dinner service did take longer than ideal so we ended skipping dessert. We got tired, it was almost 9pm by then. 😅
Bmick
Been here twice. 1st time was one of the best dining experiences I ever had. My 2nd time was not that great, but only because I wasn't feeling well. The service was great, however. My steak came out and wasn't spectacular and the bartender could sense the disappointment in my vibe. She encouraged me to send it back and the next cut of meat was way better. I only took a couple of bites, but about an hour later, at my hotel room, I took a bite of my cold steak and it was even better than it was at the restaurant. Decided right then and there that Golden Steer would be a staple every time I visit Las Vegas. Pro tip: You may be better off sharing dishes, or if you get a combo platter, get a smaller cut of meat. The portions at this restaurant are very generous.
Mas T-S
Our first time here and it won't be our last because we will be back again. We had Filet Mignon (The Aristocrat of Tenderness) 12oz*, Veal Parmigiana, French Onion Soup & Ravioli (complimentary). Love the ambience. Servers were very attentive. We were served by Ali & James. Thank you for making our time there memorable.
John Esposito
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Vegas. Got the bone in Ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. The ambience alone is enough to go there. The history behind it is absolutely fascinating. Didn't sit in the "Sinatra Booth" but it didn't matter. Lol. It's a must go if you're in Vegas!!
Angela Battle-Brown
I can't believe all the years I have been visiting Las Vegas, I had to find this fabulous gem on Tic Tock!! This jewel is a must if you are in Vegas! Tommy our waiter made the experience even better. The Lobster 🦞 Tail, broiled King Crab 🦀 legs and the Ribeye was phenomenal! Until next time Golden Steer! Salute!
Tiff Travelstheworld
Great steak. Professional service. Amazing experience. So happy to finally get to come to this iconic place.
Ian Baxter
Expensive but one heck of a great Steak, lobster and made from scratch right at your table Caesar salad.
Alex Marshall
One of the best dining experiences of my life. The food, the energy, the service, and the history in this place is unmatched. The steak melted, the Ceasar salad was the best I have ever had and we drank martinis in the same dining room that has served host to Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Ali, and The Rolling Stones. Phil, behind the bar, was an absolute machine and his drinks were perfect. Only issue is trying to get a reservation.
Deep Forest Spices
What can you say? This is classic Vegas at its absolute best! been here since the 50s and will be here well past 2050...best steak house in Vegas.
jim55434
One of the best meals of my life. Amazing. It doesn't look like special from the outside (compared to other flashy restaurants in Vegas) but the service and food are top notch. I suggest getting reservations, the meal for 2, and go on one of your first days because you will probably want to go back before you leave town.
Dest
We loved our experience here! We got to sit at Sammy Davis Jr’s table. The service was impeccable and the staff was great at sharing the history of the Restaurant with us. The food was amazing! We would definitely come back if we ever find ourselves in Vegas again.
Kendall Aviva
Amazing food, beautiful setting and excellent service! Will be back again soon
Noladiamond01
1st visit and the staff was very professional and friendly.
I suggested GS for my aunt's and sister's pre-birthday dinner in Vegas.
The only issue we had was that my aunt specify that our steak must be medium-well and when we cut the steak it was well done!!
However, our server was trying to tell us otherwise but we knew better! Plus when you travel and eat at restaurants on a regular basis, you know the difference.
We were able to get another steak redone and it was perfect this time but took it to go because it was late.
Overall we had a nice experience with GS and I plan to visit again the next time I'm in Vegas!
ADSN TV
Golden Steer Steakhouse was everything the legend talks about. The food, particularly the steaks, were cooked to perfection. The Mack and Cheese was excellent. But what makes the experience great is the atmosphere and service.
Loved the decor withe classic leather booths and memorabilia of the stars who made it famous.
They have free parking and is convenient to taxi and Uber service.
Perez perez-K
I had a great time eating delicious food at this restaurant. Highly recommended ❤️🔥❤️🔥 …
Andy Douglas
What can be said besides Wow. This is hands down one of the best 2-3 meals I've ever enjoyed. The service was perfect from the time we entered until we left. The food was cooked to perfection and the cream corn might have become my favorite side dish of all-time. Thank you Golden Steer for providing such a memorable evening.
Ms Lena
Went on a work appreciation dinner with my work colleagues and Ill tell you the Food and drinks deliciously made with good spirits!! Will definitely go back!
Christopher Ayonn
Hands down one of the best steak dinners that I have ever had! Service was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Servers are very attentive, friendly, and welcoming! If anyone is craving a good romantic amazing steak dinner I highly recommend this place! Great Place to Get Engaged Too!!
PM
Excellent Steaks and King Crab. Absolutely with any doubt the best service I have ever had.
Michelle Patterson
Excellent service. David and staff were amazing! However, for the price, food left something to be desired. Bomb mac and cheese.
Gregory Harper
Words cannot adequately express what this was like, but I will try.
Imagine you had an opportunity to visit Las Vegas and go to a standard Vegas show. The lineup was Sammy Davis Jr, Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Elvis, all in their prime. Between each show was a Cirque performance, so you also got O, Mystere, Love, and One mixed in the rest. Add a Siegfried and Roy experience along with a David Copperfield, and you have the culinary equivalent at the Golden Steer. It is amazing to sit in a place so soaked in history, and to be treated like a superstar. It was a fabulous experience and worth every cent.
Andrew Hiorth
A great French classic experience. $85 for the biggest Lobster tail you'll ever have... so tender!!! Order with a couple of sides and you're set!
David Kinder
I can't say enough positive things about this amazing steakhouse - what's to say? It's an icon. Great bar and lounge area to relax before hitting the main attraction - dinner. We have been here several times but the most memorable are of course sitting at Sinatra's table and also Andretti's table. The Caesar salads are made table-side and the steaks are cooked to perfection. This is a must-visit to get away from the strip.

Make a reservation! I wish I took photos. It was a taste of old world decadence, wonderful table service, and sumptuous dishes. We had onion soup, steaks and baked potatoes amongst others. We kept seeing the table side flaming preparation of the cherries jubilee/banana foster, couldn’t tell which it was but it looked really fun!
Jose Marquez
I’ve been trying to have dinner here for many years. It did not disappoint! Even after building it up in my head for many years, it exceeded my expectations!
The atmosphere and service matched the quality of the food “a perfect balance”. I will promote and recommend the golden steer to everyone I know that is going to Las Vegas!!!
Can’t wait to return and have a meal again!
Theo DC
Old school Vegas steakhouse. Table side Caesar salad, stiff drinks, Alaskan King Crab cocktail, Prime ribeye steak, and table side bananas foster.
Make a reservation and experience a piece of Vegas history.

To be honest I've had food all over the place. I'd say that was the best steak I've ever had, we had the privilege of dining in a very very historical room. An absolute amazing experience and a killer birthday party for a friend. I'd absolutely recommend eating at this historical landmark.
Regards,
Shayne

My friends and I had this trip planned for many years to celebrate 40th birthdays. At first when I saw the prices of the dishes I felt a bit taken aback however I can tell you it's well worth it. Its not just a meal it's an experience. Such great atmosphere, great service, the food was delicious. This restaurant has great standards but is not pretentious. Highly recommend. Carlos was a great server. Visited Monday 5th Dec...
Alex Zoyiopoulos
The best steakhouse in Las Vegas. The bone-in ribeye was absolute perfection. My table shared the shrimp cocktail, toasted ravioli, and meatballs all of which were great. Lastly you can't find cherries jubilee done table side in many places anymore. Fantastic experience.
Don Brown
Really don't have much to say about this place...it was outstanding! One of the best pieces of 'prime rib' I've ever eaten! Service was exceptional! Great experience in a traditional steakhouse.
Tony Flores
5/5 stars as always! Every time I come here, I always leave super happy. The ambiance, the food, the service is all top notch. Its a true time capsule , a throwback to when vegas was VEGAS! Delicious steaks, fresh seafood. The table side Ceasar salad and desserts prepared by Alex are to die for. Wendy the manager is such a sweet and amazing person, very accomdating. Im in vegas once a month and this is a MUST whenever im in town!
Jim Tinlin
Great meal and awesome service. I tried the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The wife tried the filet mignon, it was slightly overcooked (well done) although she requested medium well. We also split the wedge salad and twice baked potato, enough to feed two. The servers checked in on us multiple times although the kitchen was a little slow getting the entrees out. Overall a great experience, lots of personality in this restaurant.

This was my first time visiting Las Vegas and I had heard nothing but positive things about the Golden Steer. I actually canceled my reservation at Hell’s Kitchen because I wanted to have a special intimate dinner with my family for my birthday. Everything was 10/10. Every staff member was accommodating, cheerful, and well versed about the menu. Ashley in particular, made sure my unexpected extra guest could join us and even got us one of the best tables in the house on a very short notice. Hands down one of the best dining experiences i’ve ever had. Thank you Golden Steer for making my birthday a classy, amazing night!
Rizwan Somji
What a great American steakhouse experience!
The service really stood out. It was so good it made the food taste even better!!
I would highly recommend going here for dinner and skip some of the strip hotel steakhouses. They don't even compare.
Nadia SR
Five staaars!!! Delicious food! Very good customer service! Well-mannered staffs. Charming atmosphere!
If you wanna sit in the booth make sure to mention it at the time of reservation.
Denny Radford
Old school steakhouse. This is a must see if you go to visit the Las Vegas area. Highly recommend making reservation at least a month in advance. The service and the food was excellent. Absolutely have no complaints. Phenomenal.
Sierra McGill
10/10 will come to Golden Steer every time I visit Vegas! Food is amazing and atmosphere is authentic. Bryan is and will always be my favorite waiter. The overall crew was timely, efficient and enjoyable. Love Golden Steer and look forward to coming back!
Cyndi Rivera
The food, staff and atmosphere were all AWESOME!!! it's expensive but totally worth it.
Frank McNeff
Been to Vegas 40 years. Never been to Golden Steer. Finally tried it. Very good. You must order the shrimp cocktail. Unbelievable 4 of the largest shrimp l ever had and delicious. Also had the prime rib could only eat a little. My wife had the chicken parmesan. Said it was the best she ever had. Our server Spencer was excellent. Also others who served us. Will definitely be back next year.
Eve Taglisrino
Had another fabulous meal there tonight. The food and service was above and beyond perfect. Cory was our server (along with other gentleman helping him) and they were all the best. Making sure we were always taken care of. Our dinners and deserts were perfect and delicious. Atmosphere is always the best too! A hidden gem off the strip for decades now.
Ryan Lange
I loved everything about the Golden Steer. We pulled up for dinner in an Uber, and I thought I or the driver had made a mistake. It's a mini mall! But once inside, you are transported into old vegas. Red leather booths and pics of legends, plus it was decorated up for the holidays. We had the table side prepared Caesar salad and it was just as you would expect. Restaurants just don't do this anymore! The steak... I'd complain about the price, but this is an example where the food was so good I thought it was worth what I paid. The drinks and service was also top-notch. It's worth ducking off the strip for this one.
Jennifer Steel
The best steak house! Employees all work together for the best food and dining experience. The food is excellent from the steak to the side dishes and dessert. Highly recommend 100%. The atmosphere was warm and staff exceptional!

Excellent service and dinning experience. The Caesar salad is sublime.
It's comensurately pricey though.
Sean Sorensen
I fudged up on the reservation system, meaning to book a Saturday. Turns out I booked for the following Friday. Whoops! They still got us in and it was very busy. Steaks were awesome, salad and sides great and service was excellent.
Dallas “Big D” Paul
Great old Las Vegas feel, The food and service was above and beyond great. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
L D
You can't judge a book by its cover, and you can't judge this restaurant by its exterior. Its old vegas class, with the best stakes in Las Vegas. I had a great time. It's pricey, about $150 a head for a good meal, but you won't be disappointed by the food.
Eric
Had an awesome dinner...My NY strip and table side caesar salad were awesome. Cocktails were amazing as well along with a very cool old time atmosphere. Will definitely be back when in town again.
Crystal Ridinger
Incredible, the best steak dinner I've had in a while!! We went in to just eat and left having had one of the best meals in our lives! The bartender was on fire tonight as well! 100% recommend going, but get a reservation first!!!
Mark Kahny Jr
My Go To steakhouse when I’m in Vegas! I’m never disappointed, always satisfied! Stopped in this time for a Prime Rib, but also love the Ribeye as well. Cooked to perfection and melted like butter in my mouth. This place is a throwback to great times, amazing decor inside. A lot of Ratpack memorabilia along with classic Mahogany Leather booths in a darker lighting setup with great music playing. Today I sat at the bar which has a good set up and a few tv’s. My servers were LeAnn and Johnathon. They helped make my evening be as good as it can get. Come in and support your local businesses, this place is a MUST!
Mike Naylor
We made reservations for 9:45 and they got us in right on time. We were there for our wedding anniversary and they really took care of us. Wonderful Caesar salad made tableside and a great steak and lobster entree. The inside of the building was very cool.
Karen Steinbring
My husband and I are in Vegas celebrating our 15th anniversary and we decided to try Golden Steer for the first time. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed...the service and the food was impeccable. Bryant and his "team" were amazing and very helpful! We started with the meatballs..so tasty, then the best Ceasar salad...made at your table (with step-by-step instructions)...I have ever had. We opted for the special..Tomahawk Ribeye with 2 sides...we got the twice baked potato and the cream spinach. Oh. My. Word. What a delicious meal!! Definitely will be back!!
Heather Fairchild
Seriously the best oysters Rockefeller I've had since I left the beach. Steak was on phenomenal too. Great service and ambiance. Next time we will make a reservation.
Adam Lane
Best steak we have had in vegas. Party of 8 and we where very satisfied. Service is awesome. It's a pleasure to eat in a place that truly cares about the product they put out. Will definitely be back.
Alan Winfield
True Vegas classic. Top notch steakhouse that has been doing it right since 1958 I believe. Real Vegas History. Round leather booth's named after a famous client. Incredible ambiance.
Aysam Mahmoud
Wonderful staff, even better steaks! If you're planning a trip to Vegas then book a reservation here also! You won't be disappointed. My wife and I enjoyed our time there
Judy Faye Hayles
Ribeye was cooked to perfection. So was my Lamb. The Wedge Salad was so fresh and delicious and the Oysters were great. Call weeks ahead for a reservation. We were able to sit at the bar and the service was excellent !!!!
Vena Gunches
Went to.late dinner with husband and adult son for my birthday very nice great service refreshing now. Really nice decore and beautiful food. I think you restaurant has been the best hospitality and service of anywhere I went in Vegas.
jesus Cuen-Loza
Came her for the first time and OMG it was delicious Best Steak and Mac N Cheese I ever had on my momma
Martin Klein
This was the best food place we have been in las vegas.
From the outside it looks like a cheaper basic place, but inside it is a more fancy one.
The menu is short but that's good. It's mainly steaks between 50 and 90$. Sides are extra ~10$. If you eat here plan 100$ per person at least.
But for us it was worth it. The service was fantastic. Everyone really takes care of you and treats you well.
And the steaks were all on point and extremely delicious. The specialty for 2 was ment to be plenty of food to share. It could have been a little bit more. The main steak seemed smaller than the single order steaks. And it didn't come with dessert. Beside that the taste of steak, lobster, potato, salad and mushrooms were outstanding. Haven't eaten so good in some time.
Barry C
What an epic Las Vegas experience. The hype was definitely earned with this place, so much history, so much atmosphere, and absolutely incredible food. I would have expected to pay 2x at least here than what we did. Book a res early though, I missed out on this experience the past 2 times I went to Vegas.
Lucas Underwood
Amazing experience! Great food! What more could you ask for?
Ate here twice in one week, each time the experience was stellar.
Twice baked potato was fantastic. Both steaks 5 🌟.
MAC
Old school Las Vegas steakhouse that dates back to the 1960's. Great food, excellent service, and cool ambiance. Pricey menu. Good date night place.
Susan Anderson
After getting a recommendation from a TicTok person that I follow i made a reservation here. I made a note that we were celebrating our anniversary and then forgot about it-they did not! After an amazing meal of Seabass and creamed spinach for me and a Ribeye (cooked perfectly, and with the famous butter on top) and asparagus for my husband, management brought a piece of Cheesecake with chocolate sauce and that also was amazing. I can't say enough about the inside deco, so retro. And the service was on point with no less than 5 people serving us! We will definitely return on our next visit to Vegas!
S. McNair
I can’t tell you which celebrity sat where once upon a time, but I can tell you my overall experience was top notch. We ordered the ribeye, which was cooked to perfection - correct color/temp as requested. And the flavor?!?! OMG, the flavor was soooo good. We paired it with a wedge salad and their Mac n Cheese. Our server, James, was also a gem. The entire night would’ve suffered if our server missed the mark, but he was on it! The other guys assisting in the dining room were pleasant and attentive as well. My only regret is being too full and skipping one of my favorite desserts: table-side bananas foster. I’ll be back!!
Chef Dave Food Critic
The food here and the service were excellent, I would highly recommend the bone in ribeye but everything that we ate was delicious. If you were in Vegas looking for a good steak house to have dinner, you should definitely check out the Golden Steer.
Denis Donohue
Had the pleasure to finally try The Golden Steer! It's like going in a time machine. Super clean, yet vintage 50's Vegas character and charm. Went on a Friday night, & the seafood was very fresh. Table-side caeser salad was quintessential. I ordered the lamb (medium) and it was one of the best lamb I've ever had. Waiters Jonathan and Alex were super knowledgeable, friendly, & professional. A true gem if you love steakhouses and "old" Vegas.
JJ Cuervo
Wet aged New York thikcut is worth the price. Ceasars salad was creamy and flavourful. The escargot were OK, I probably wouldn't order them again. Dirty martini was cold, delicious and filled to the brim.
Ricky Tran
This place lives up to the hype. Monster lobster tail! Everything was perfect. What a meal!
GARY K
My gf took me here for my bday and it was both our first time there, David was our server and was excellent, he explained how the food is prepared, told us stories of famous patrons etc. The food was amazing, one of thr best steaks and meatballs I've ever had. They even gave us a little surprise gift! Simply put one of the finest dining experiences we've both ever had.
Lance Casar
No complaints. Best lamb chops I've ever had! Steaks are awesome a well. Glad we went to get alittle old Vegas atmosphere.
B Hughs
Its old school service backed by tradition. I come here every time I'm in Vegas. Food is excellent and in my top 2 restaurants of my lifetime. Lobster last year was knock it off the boat fantastic. I had the Filet this year and it was off the hoof. Top 2 steaks of my lifetime. I'm 56. Atmosphere is step back in time comfortable and never skip the tableside desert cherries jubilee or bananas foster. Oh yeah, get the Ceasars salad made tableside. You won't regret your visit.
Karen Fishburn
This was not just dinner, it was an experience! The 1960’s vibe made you believe that Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin would be walking in at any moment. The food was excellent; my husband and I had the petite filet mignon & it melted in our mouths. We were treated like royalty by our “wait team” Ricardo & Ali & Kenis. If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas, make a reservation well in advance because this restaurant is sooo popular it’s often not easy to get in. And you DON’T want to miss out on a great classic Vegas experience!
Russell Araujo
One of the best examples of an old school Las Vegas fine dining restaurant. From the red leather, the ambiance, the details like the pretty light sconces on the wall, the chandeliers, and the old school paintings. Service was on point. Drinks were always full. Food was perfectly timed. Everything was cooked to perfection. If you're looking for an example of a fine Las Vegas Steakhouse, this is it. All in all a five-star experience.
Nette Rab
I've had this restaurant bookmarked for a while now and I finally got to try this old school steakhouse located on Sahara. The ambiance is beautiful and welcoming. I enjoyed looking at the mannequins. Seemed like the place was filled. There's photo's on the wall of old entertainers, Rat Pack. Couldn't see the others.
The bar is a pretty good size. When you walk in there's a large waiting area and I'm sure that's where tables and chairs were prior to COVID. Like a lounge.
There were 2 servers and I forgot their names but they were exceptionally on top of their game. The service was impeccable and impressive. 5 Stars for the service.
Food:
We tried one of their specials which is a Tomahawk Steak, 2 Lobster Tails, 2 sides and we opt for frech onion soup and caesar salad. The soup was delicious and so was the complimentary bread. The Caesar salad was ok. If you order for 2 or more they will make it at your table.
My palette was not a fan of the steak. Possibly because I don't like a nutty finish and that's me personally. In addition, we had creme corn and the baked potato. I love corn but me again not liking cinnamon in my corn. The baked potato was good. Happy that they kept all the fixings separate for us..
Overall, I'd give them another try but order a different type of steak and sides.
Junk Mail
We visit this spot every time we're in Vegas. The atmosphere, the food, the service, the presentation, everything is an experience. We highly recommend trying it out at least once. You will be 100% satisfied!
Elliott Hough
We had an excellent anniversary meal here. The menu choices, food, and service were top notch. Loved the old feel atmosphere as well!
Doris Ho
Thanks for being very accommodating for my husband's dairy allergy!
Nicolas Terzani
We had a table in the bar area, but you get charged same as if you were in dining area. I believe they could make an effort to make the bar area more comfortable for the price they are charging. Food not so special, yes good but way overpriced for what it was, and for the location and the lack of confort in the bar area.. so I would definitely not recommend to eat at the bar..
alexis
Worth every penny ! One of the best experiences we have ever had.
Gary Evans
Lovely place and the attention of staff really good with very good food however for both the appetisers and the main meal the waiters didn't confirm which customer ordered which dish ..that resulted in members of the party having steaks that were undercooked for their particular taste. Unfortunately ruined the experience
Jon Chandler
Iconic establishment! I was so excited to eat here but was nervous if they would room on a Friday so I showed up early. No reservations were available yet the restaurant was mostly empty. Not sure but I think they only take res
Lynn Shaffer
Our waiter was exceptional! The food was amazing! Definitely need to try this amazing steakhouse! Make reservations in advance, especially during NFR.
Armand
Looking for a really good taste of old school Vegas, this is the spot! Specialty cocktails are delicious, as is the food! A bit on the pricier side, but worth every penny! Very old school and amazing!!!
Dirk Anderson
Old Vegas. Style. Steak. Must do it! Don’t let the outside fool you.
Duane Harms
We ate here to celebrate our 41st anniversary and had a very enjoyable time and a great meal sitting in the Sammy Davis Jr booth. Expect to pay a minimum of $150 plus tip per person for a steak dinner with drinks.
Sabrina Dhalla
What an amazing place! Been here twice now for our All Insurance company trip. The BEST tableside Ceasar salad along with great food and service! Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Ken Hubbard
Like walking back in time. We sat at the Elvis booth. The food was excellent. The service engaging, friendly and professional. Even on a Monday night early, the Steer was packed.
Mk T
So after hearing about this steak house from one of the locals we had to give it a go.We were celebrating my daughter's 16 bday w/a beautiful dinner. At Golden Steer we got way more than that! It was a night we definitely won't forgot about. They're prime rib & steaks are mouth watering. Once you've had a steak from here i guarantee you its gonna be hard to beat. But the part that we will never forget is when they prepared a special dessert right @ our table. To see it made in front of was so fun but this dessert was like nothing we've ever had before!! This was the grande finale 👏 🙌 The flavors incorporated in this dessert made our taste buds go wild!! Everybody there really went that extra mile!! Thanks guys you all are absolutely 💯!!
David Bair, Jr
One of the best steaks I've had. This place embodies what most would call old school Vegas, and you can tell from walking in the door. Notoriously known as a hang out of the likes of the Rat Pack and Elvis, this place feels like stepping back in time, from the red leather seating, to the soft bulb lighting, to the flashing lights out front that look like they've been there from the beginning.
Service was impeccable, from the well timed courses to the perfectly cooked food, I can't say enough good things. This combined with a staff that was friendly and made me feel welcomed...I'll be returning.
Do yourself a favor and have a night that starts here and ends on Freemont at one of the classic casinos, and you'll have a real taste of what old Vegas was and is.
Todd
Came at 7 pm on a Sat thinking I can get a table. No luck, booked for three weeks. Had the option to Waite for a bar stool, but chose not to.
The Caesar salad is to die for and the cherry jubilee dessert is a must have
K W
As all the reviews state this place is old school steak house. The food was fabulous and wait staff were very nice and professional. Love the old round booths which make for comfort and cozy. The banana foster was to die for and plenty for two people. Definitely make this a regular stop on my Vegas trips.
C R
Want to experience old Vegas?! This is the place. From the moment you walk in you feel like going back to the rat pack days. Amazing food and atmosphere this place is a must when visiting Las Vegas!
Brian Tolbert
Had the 38oz tomahawk ribeye, and some sides, food came out excellent. We didn't have reservations so we sat at the bar and the service was great.
Brian Esser
I was happy with everything I had. Oysters Rockefeller, ceasar salad, banana foster, and the sides were all good with me. But I am a filet person and I went with the ribeye and it just wasnt what I wanted. Wasnt a fan and it changed the experience for me which was my fault. All in all it was good. I also lost a bet and I had to pay for everyone. So if I ever make it back it will be the filet.
Mark McCormack
This place was excellent. The service was top notch, food was amazing and we were very happy at the end of the meal. I would highly recommend the cream corn.
Evelyn Rivas
I enjoyed the whole experience. Very nice place. So, what did we order? First of all, the Ribeye is juicy and tender. Second, the twice baked potatoes are delicious. It's like mashed potatoes with bacon baked in the skin. Order them! The lamb chops are also good. The Caesar salad is made at your table out. Dressing made from scratch. Everything was delicious. Service was wonderful.
John Betts
Best steak in Las Vegas. Old school feel... like the golden days of Vegas. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. A little off the strip, but well worth the trip.
Rob Johnson
This was a great experience all around. Came here on my birthday weekend. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The restaurant had made noticeable effort to promote safety, without it feeling overbearing or ruining the dining experience. Our server was outstanding... friendly, helpful with suggestions, and always there when we needed without being too "in your face." The food was outstanding as well. Appetizers, main course, and dessert were all exceptional. Definitely has a nice, classic vibe in there. Highly recommended.
A H
I had always wanted to come to this place as it is a local favorite. It seems like just another restaurant from the outside and it's in a shopping center as well. But when you walk in it's a high quality restaurant with excellent service! I had the rib eye medium rare and it may very well be the best ribeye steak I've ever had. The French onion soup was excellent as well. Five stars all around.
Maddi Casey
The food, service, and experience/history of the place are all so amazing. Definitely worth a visit. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the cocktails were delicious.
Erica Campbell
Hands down the best dinner I have had...ever! Everything was amazing including the service, the made at the table cesar, the steak, the dessert....Everything. We highly recommend!
Kurt Brazzil
One of the best steaks I've ever had, without a doubt. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare. They definitely earn their reputation and have managed to keep a great experience going during covid.
Ashley Clark (Marilyn Monday)
I finally know why they call it Chicken of the Angels!!! It must be prepared by a celestial chef, it has so much flavor and is simply amazing! I couldn't finish it all in one day, but I wasn't about to waste a single bite of it - I heated it in the oven the following day for lunch and it was STILL incredible. It doesn't photograph as well as it tastes, and I had been wondering why there were no photos of the complete dish when I searched for one... Now I know that's because it smells SO good that you dig in without even remembering to take a photo!! By the time I was full, the dish had been through a lot, so to have to forgive my lack of photo lol Next time, I promise I'll make it a bigger priority!
The ravioli is also delish, including the marinara it is served with.
My visit really inspired me to learn more about the restaurant's history. There are booths named after golden-era celebrities, and I'd love to know if any of them ever dined here (I'm sure they have)! It's a historic staple of a landmark.
To combat the empty feeling of social distancing between open booths, every other booth has been seated with mannequins dressed as the classic celebs!! Really fun atmosphere, loved everything about this place. Hugh was the manager when I visited, and he really went above and beyond to make me feel like a VIP! I'm nothing special, so I know his customers are treated with top-notch respect and helpfulness. Let's return the favor by showing our gratitude to the staff when we visit!
I can't wait to return, and so sad that I had to move away from this landmark.
Doug Cisler
This is a great old school Steakhouse in the Las Vegas area Off the Strip. This place has some serious history and you can tell when you walk in the door. All the tables are named for the stars that used to frequent the establishment. The waiters are impeccably dressed in tuxedos and the service is amazing. the food is also amazing. I sampled the filet and lobster as well as the crab legs which were a huge surprise. Some of the best I've ever had. another surprise was the cream corn. It was like a dessert. If you're in Las Vegas and looking for a really good steak house outside of downtown or the Strip. This Is The Place To Go.
J Y K
Best steakhouse in LV. Hands down.
I love the beach
Came for weekend. Amazing Cesar salad amazing ribeye. Great customer service. Deserves a million stars. Will come back.
Matthew Rogers
First visit. Heard good things prior to coming and I must say that this place didn't disappoint. The service was good and the food was tasty!! I had the Lamb Chops and the wife had the Shrimp Scampi. Both were delicious!! Will definitely dine here again.
Sabrina Bree
Delicious!! No complaints from this party of 6 who all ordered different things. Even the cocktail drink were perfectly made!
Stephanie Myers
My husband & I went here for our honeymoon dinner & LOVED IT!!! Def worth the money!! Our crew of waiters was excellent, Venzo was the over the top with his Ceaser salad & history of his time as a food service provider!!
Joanne Uy (JT)
4.5 overall. 5 for the overall history and character of the place, 4.5 for the food, 4 for the service.
I really wanted us to dine at the best possible steakhouse in Vegas while we were there for Labor Day weekend so I was looking and couldn't decide for almost 3 days, there were too many excellent choices after all. Finally we decided on this 'institution'. Hey if it's good enough for Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, it's good enough for us, right?
Upon getting there, we were welcomed and asked to wait for around 20 more minutes then we were led to our booth. Classy red leather, exudes quiet elegance. Zach was our server and was warm and friendly, though I felt service was a little inconsistent, had a few pockets where we weren't attended to for quite a long time, and I couldn't ask for another glass of Champagne for like 20 mins.
As for entrées, hubby and I shared the 22 oz. Ribeye steak which we asked to be cooked Medium (I do medium rare, husband likes medium and it was his birthday so it's a compromise), but our steak was done medium rare, which I kinda felt bad for the birthday boy. Creamed spinach was also good.
Given they knew we were celebrating his birthday, Zach brought over a slice of cheesecake complete with sparklers. I thought this was such a nice touch and was kind of the redeeming moment. We definitely appreciated it. We also decided to order the Bananas Foster dessert, which is a House speciality and flambéed tableside. We enjoyed watching the little production number and definitely enjoyed sharing it.
Overall, a memorable dining experience, which was worth coming off the strip for.
Roop Buttar
Great Atmosphere. Absolute must everytime when visiting Vegas. Old school real steak house. Staff is amazing. Thank you guys for always being the best in Vegas. Already looking forward to the next time.
Jake Koch
One of the best steaks i have had in Vegas and I have been to many of the best... Price is a bit steep but the food is worth it, atmosphere is a it noise
Ann Glynn
If you are looking for dining experience that can't be beat, then you definitely want to eat at the Golden Steer. Literally one of the best meals I have ever had, with service that was impeccable. Keep in mind that this type of quality dining experience and service doesn't come cheap, so expect the check to be North of $100 per person. It's a great place to celebrate a special anniversary, event, or just to celebrate yourself. A lot of famous stars used to dine here, and they have managed to keep that "old time" Vegas feel. If you have the chance to treat yourself to dinner at the Golden Steer, I promise you won't regret it!
Nancy Perez
20th wedding anniversary dinner at the Golden Steer was hands down delicious! We both had the 24oz porterhouse, tender & flavorful. Had the bananas foster for dessert, extremely yummy!! Guest service was on point from beginning to end. We sat in the Rat Pack booth.
Michael Torgerson (Michael David)
Had a great experience at The Golden Steer tonight. Great ambience in this place. Be transported to classier times and sit in the booths that Frank Sinatra and the rest of The Rat Pack sat in. We had the bone in ribeye. Excellent flavor and incredibly juicy. Ordered medium rare and both me and my friends steaks were a bit under cooked. The tableside Caesar salad was fantastic.
Overall a great experience and tasty meal.
IRONMAN27
This place is fantastic. I've eaten at a lot of high end steakhouses but this is in my top 2. If you are looking to take a date I highly recommend the Golden Steer. The entire ambiance is fantastic. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. This place is a hidden gem. The waiters have been there for decades. They know their stuff. The filet was phenomenal. The table side Caesar salad is a must. They make the dressing right there completely fresh. Best salad I've ever had. The Creme Brulee was very good as well. Can't say enough great things about this place. If you enjoyed this review please be sure to hit the like button. Thank you!

Exceptional steak and sides and best service ever. Old Vegas style and class abound here!
Must visit meal. The staff made our special occasion extra memorable, this is top notch service.

Disappointed. Ambiance and food was great, service was not 5 star, $100+ per person quality. Went on a Wednesday night and the staff was running, appeared under staffed. Head waiter only came by once, quite a while after the food was delivered, to ask if everything was all right. Was never asked if I'd like a second glass of wine. I picked up the pepper grinder and started grinding my own pepper on my food and a waiter noticed and offered to do it for me. I moved my delicious french onion soup to the side, only partially eaten, and a staff member quickly grabbed it as they walked past to clear it from the table. I was not done with it, wanted to take it home, but was never asked if I was done with it before they cleared it from the table. I brought it to someone's attention and they brought me a cup of broth to take home. Not the same, where's the cheese and bread?
It's not exactly relaxing watching the service staff running and not getting great service. Disappointed, not sure if we'll be back.

OMG! Delicious, yummy, perfect steak and everything else. Spendy. Great service old style steak house decor. Lots of local and celebrity photos and stories. Money better spent here than some 'never pay' slot machine.

If I can give 6 stars, I would!!!
My Italian man’s specialty is to grill steak and not being puffy, I haven’t tried any restaurant that do a better job of grilling steak better than him until Golden Steer! Golden steer blew my mind of he quality of the steak, not only how fresh they are but also the quality in terms of they can do their job right without sending it back and forth and telling myself, “that’s okay, everybody makes mistakes”. Hey know what they are doing!
The waitress there are not just waitress but very knowledgeable!!
Michelle “Chel”
Best Prime Rib and Caesar Salad I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot!!! The ambiance is amazing. It feels like another time with the black and red booths and the dim lighting. The star studded memorabilia on the walls just makes it a little more special and we were in the Rat Packs corner which I especially loved. I bought the cookbook as soon as I got home to make the Caesar Salad all the time and the book has some amazing stories as well! Do yourself a favor, if you are at all interested, just go. 💜💜💜 #ThemedGirlEats #ThemedGirlTravels

Rib eye was melt in your mouth amazing! The prime rib was just ok. It was my bday, as I had mentioned it to the lady who took my reservation, who asked if we were celebrating anything special. We ordered kahlua for dessert but no special birthday treat from the restaurant. So why ask?
My dog passed away 2 hours before our reservation of 730pm. I called golden steer to tell them what happened and we were running late bc the pet cremation guy showed up at my house at 630pm. They said we can only hold your reservation for 15 mins.
I get it, you're busy but be a little bit more sympathetic for the passing of our family member of 15 yrs. We made it on time for our reservation of 730 btw.
Food arrived fast. Warm bread served. Everything is Ala carte. We ordered mushrooms and asparagus. Service was just ok. I guess I expected more from a steakhouse that charges $50+ for steak.
Overall, I would go again bc the food was great and it was fascinating to learn that it is the oldest steak house in Vegas.

I recently went to Vegas for my first time and Golden Steer Steakhouse was recommended to me as the best steak in Vegas. Now that I have gone I will say while it wasn’t the best steak it was certainly the most EXPENSIVE.
I split a ribeye with my best friend. The ribeye alone costed 55 dollars WITHOUT any sides (blasphemy). It was very tender but sadly the flavor department could’ve used some more help. I ended up requesting the Peppercorn sauce which added another $4.00 to the tab. It helped but again... I shouldn’t need the sauce at a $55.00 cost.
The “Alaskan King Crab Cocktail” was okay but certainly not worth the $16.00 price tag. Their Caesar salad was touted as being famous and I can see why. It was the VERY best I’ve ever had. It also was the most expensive one I’ve ever had ($12.00).
Me and my best friend opted to try the twice baked potato ($10.00) which was delicious. Overall, the ambiance and decor was great, the food was very tasty, but was it worth the $87.00 price tag plus tax & tip? Nope. 3.5 stars out of 5.

I did my research and decided that when we came to Vegas, the Golden Steer was the steakhouse I wanted to visit. I am completely happy with our dining choice. The steaks were cooked perfectly, everything was hot and fresh, and the desserts and cappuccino were fabulous! Carlos and Bryan were our servers and didn’t miss a detail. This was all and all a great experience!
Chris Horne
Don't let the exterior fool you. The Golden Steer served one of the very best meals I've ever had. The petite filet was perfectly grilled and the lobster tail was magnificent. My wife had the Chicken of the Angels and let me sneak a bite, which I loved. The service was stellar and at times quite funny. Great experience. Feels like a very different Vegas.
shari medart
great atmosphere!! loved the music and vibe! they made it special for our anniversary, too! The oysters were sooo fresh and the steak was perfect!
Johnathan Farrow
We had dinner here last night and the service was exceptional. The food was superb. We had steak as well as lobster tail and everything was high quality; everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful. The team that took care of us was attentive, helpful with recommendations/pairings and very approachable. Our cocktails were perfectly strong and great for sipping throughout the experience. The ambiance was classic style yet social. The best espresso martini that we have ever had!
Chris Heinemeyer
After seeing the Golden Steer on many many Top Steakhouse lists on Youtube, we had to stop and check it our for ourselves. First off it is like walking into a time capsule of old school Vegas. The dim lights, plush leather and well dressed service staff. Before I even get to the food, lets just say the SERVICE was amazing, never have we been taken better care of then here at the Golden Steer, there must have been at least 4 different people working one table. And for the food, flat out perfection. It isn't fancy or over the top. they focus on simplicity in its finest. Steak, lobster, potatoes and veggies. Table side Cesar Salad is a must!
Becky Bush
This is one of the best steak houses in the country...the Mob Room was fun, service is impeccable, the place is loaded with Vegas nostalgia.
andrea carricato
We went to the Golden Steer for my husband's birthday and it was incredible. Our servers were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The food was incredible. The tomahawk steak was honestly the best steak I've ever had. Tommy made our cherries jubilee and he was so funny and nice. I would absolutely recommend this for a nice dinner out.
mike willus
The best ceaser salad around. Great steak in a classic atmosphere. Love this place.
Robert Cox
Honestly I wanted to like the place but I just wasn't captivated. Don't get me wrong. The service was fantastic. Atmosphere was as expected. But the food was decent? We got the tomahawk chef special and it was a good steak. But for the price. I've definitely had better elsewhere. The twice baked potatoes steal the show.
Rafael Ponce
Great ambiance great steaks our servers were a little busy so our service was a little off...
David Neufeld
Amazing food! Better service! If I could give this place more stars I would. Definitely going back! Everything was as ordered. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of restaurant.
Leann DiDomenico McAllister
I can't believe we've lived in Las Vegas for nearly 4 years and today was our first visit to the Golden Steer. We loved everything from the setting to the service to the incredible steaks. We will be back soon!
Francisco Marquez
The porterhouse tasted great and cooked medium rare accurate. Twice baked potato wasn't as good as advertised but that's fine.
Edward K_2010
Wonderful establishment with a ton of Ambience, professional old school service and attention to detail. We sat in one of the rat pack booths and enjoyed chatting with staff about the restaurants history. Food was good with the exception of the tomahawk and prime rib which had 10-15% of grizzle which is surprising for the price paid. Otherwise a fine establishment for very special occasions.
Christine Wright
I have never in my life experienced service as remarkable as I did here. This was a well orchestrated experience. The staff was Superb! Oh the food was Great as well
V
Our party of 6 had a reservation, and we showed up 20 minutes early, because we had been told that if you are 15 minutes or more late, they cancel your reservation. That is understandable. However when you are there on time and still have to wait 40 minutes past your reservation time, then at least a round of drinks for the party should be comped. As for the staff, they need to be trained in politeness and common courtesy and not have an attitude. And when asked for suggestions or what are the most popular menu items requested, just answer the questions or change professions and go home. Also, just because it was a party of 6, the waiter seemed to have the attitude of, OK this will be a decent tip for me for this table WRONG !!! In order to receive an good tip, you need to work for it. Like keeping water glasses filled. Keeping drink orders refilled. Making sure all the food is brought out in a timely fashion and cooked as requested and is there anything else I can do or get for you.
The attitude of the entire staff ruined what could have been a great evening.
Will seriously reconsider going back to this establishment in the future because there are so many other great restaurants in Vegas to have a more enjoyable evening at. Our party was not happy with the amount of money we spent in relationship to the entire dining experience.
I think that the only way we would go back would to be guaranteed a seat at The Rat Pack Table, and the best waiter/waitress on staff, and an excellent meal. I seriously doubt that this could happen, because they seem to be a GET EM AND GET EM OUT, type of restaurant now, unless I guess you are a celebrity or someone important. But they need to remember that it is the everyday customer that keeps them in business.
Thank you and have a great time in Vegas.
Micah Lapping-Carr
Everything here was great. I got the petite filet mignon and the lobster tail, and the lobster tail was ENORMOUS. Filet was cooked perfectly. Both were delicious. And getting to see them make the Caesar salad and the bananas foster table side was a treat.
Susan Guerra Roberts
This place is amazing. The steak quality, the overall food quality and the history of the place. If you have not be read about the restaurant's history, please do some reading. The waiters are also very good about sharing the restaurant history and will share if you are sitting at someone's 'usual' table.
Dress code is enforced which means you must wear something presentable, it is definitely not a casual dining spot.
The staff is super friendly and offer recommendations upon request. They do offer certain specials or you may order off the menu.
We ordered the steak with lobster tail. Both were cooked to perfection and full of flavor.
They offer a table side Caesar salad; they made the entire salad table side from scratch (dressing included).
It is definitely on the pricey side but great overall.
The atmosphere is great. The lighting is a bit dim and it is definitely an experience. Enjoy!
Don Lindus
Celebrated our 30th anniversary here. Service was excellent. Staff was very friendly and all wish us Happy Anniversary. Food is also well prepared and tasted very good. I would recommend this for any of your special occasions or just want to try out a place you have never eaten. Price is right in the range of the style of steakhouse it is.
Mark C.
We enjoy trying new places and have visited just about all the steak houses in Las Vegas on and off the strip. After visiting Golden Steer we only come here, try to make time to come in every other month.
Steak, sea bass, king crab and lobster are winners. Don’t usually do 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but these guys are always amazing, you won’t be disappointed. If you haven’t tried it it’s worth the money.
Josh Eisenberg
Omar was a fantastic server and the host/Manager was just the absolute best. She was so friendly and really made it a great dinner. Will be coming back with others when I'm back in town.
Food was top notch. The wine list was fantastic.
David Macht
Every part of the meal and experience was exceptional. Thank you and can't wait to visit sgain!
Shane Mang
Golden Steer is dated, the menu hasn't changed in what feels like decades, and they hold onto old stories like someone desperately trying to recall the good old days. And that's exactly why I recommend it to friends. This restaurant is an experience, that will soon be gone but it's one well worth seeing firsthand. Known for steak and 60's celebrities. When you go, get them to tell some stories about mobsters or crooners and you'll have a good time in this time capsule! And of course, end your dinner with a banana flambe, because who does that anymore?! It's awesome and delicious.
ANDY GARCIA
Good steak, great service. Went for New years dinner. Had nice picts on the wall of the ole town and the rat pack.
T P (PT613)
Wish there was a 4.5. We had a great time. Very Vegas like place. In a dirty strip mall. You would never think to go there if you didn’t look it up. Old Vegas for sure. Great service, dark old school atmosphere. Staff was really nice. We didn’t have a reservation, but they found us a table. The food was really solid. We had the crabmeat app. This is a must, a big mound of fresh crabmeat. Loved it. The loaded baked potato was great. We ordered the 22 oz bone in rib eye. We could not finish it. I would say the steak was really good, just short of great. This is a nit picking point. Make a reservation and try it out. It’s a great break from the places on the strip.
Chuck Huff
Over the past twenty years my family and I have enjoyed the food, impeccable service and ambience at Golden Steer. Recently we enjoyed the food and amazing service but the ambience was lacking. Larger parties and lessened dress codes changed the mood but not the food. 5 stars to the food and staff. 3.5 stars to the lessened ambience inside the restaurant. But who can lessen a location where both the mob influencers and Rat Pack have eaten
BAMF
Definitely a place you want to add to your bucket list. Come prepared to spend a few hundred. You will not be disappointed.
Johannes Knapp
First time for me in the Golden Steer, my friends and colleagues from Germany recommended me that steakhouse. The interior looks like in the old days which is kinda cool. The caesars salad is made fresh tableside. The bone-in ribeye and the prime rib were cooked to perfection and it tasted great. An great overall experience. I will come again next time I'm in vegas!
Tom Anderson
The best around. Steak, wines, service… But banana’s foster, cherries jubilee, crème brûlée and strawberry cheese cake. Absolute stop if you’re in Vegas. And the nostalgia and Rat Pack, get outta here!
Rae Mc
It was a one of a kind dinner. You get to dine where old Hollywood did. There is such a cool vibe and the decor was spot on. If you like an old fashion (it's bourbon drink) this place makes the best. It will ruin you in a good way after you drink it because no one will be able to beat the perfection of this drink. Their steaks are amazing and the size of your face (if you want it). I stuck to the petite filet Oscar style. It was cooked beautifully. The table side service was something you must do. They made the caesar dressing to order table side. There was no measuring, you could tell they were pros at this. The salad was phenomenal. We could've stopped there and been satisfied but we wanted it all. From their wonderful appetizers to Banana Fosters Flambe table side. Don't rush yourself or you will miss something amazing. We celebrated birthdays and got free desserts with the candle being a firework. It's priced well for everything you get at a steakhouse. Dress up..don't rush and enjoy every bite!
Jake Taylor
The embodiment of "Classic Vegas" at its finest. From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you're treated very kindly by each and every member of the staff. Our server shared stories and the history of the restaurant, and his recommendations for our meal choices were on point. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Golden Steer should absolutely be on your "must eat" list!
Matt Peppes
An old school steakhouse with an incredible atmosphere! We ate here on a Saturday and was lucky to get a reservation last minute. Make sure you book well in advance. They had a great wine list and the food menu was amazing. The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve had and they even make it table side. Their prime rib and filet were both great cuts of meat and was cooked to perfection. Most of the entrees are a la carte so you might want to order a few sides for the table to share. The service itself was something to be desired but the delicious food made up for that shortfall. This steakhouse should be on everyone’s list to dine at!
Mico C
The ambience was wonderful and the service was incredible. Ricardo was great and made sure we enjoyed ourselves.
Mark Manthy
I wish I had known about this place 10 years ago. There are fancy places on the strip which give you a great meal, but nothing compares to this place. Nothing. Full stop.
Decor is great. 1960s era with great lighting and old school booths.
Tableside caeaer salad is just crazy good and the tableside bananas foster was rediculous.
And I'm not even going to start about the prime rib. Just fantastic.
Nichole LaCour
Food was delicious, it was everything we read in the reviews. I gave 4 stars based on the the waitstaff and hostess. When we arrived we were stared down top to bottom to make sure that everyone had followed the dress code, it was very uncomfortable. The woman at the front didn't appear to like her job and was not very welcoming. We had a larger group (12), the waiter seemed to be annoyed with the questions asked regarding the menu. Parking was a bit difficult as it is a small lot, Gratuity was automatically applied at 18%.
Albert kerrnaja
I don't know where to start...wow! this stake house is awesome. I think they stand as one of the best in Las Vegas.
The ambiance, the service, the people all spectacular.. I really recommend this place!! food is good and service is definitely amazing!!
Corinna E
Definitely need to try this place. Excellent service and definitely delicious food.
Brent Munson
This is a historical location that's backs up their heritage in their food.
It's worth Every penny.
Get the twice backed potatoes and not the backed potatoes it has been a star for 40+ years and they are correct.
Everything else is on point all the way down to the service.
First class from the time the door opened to the point we walked out.
We will be back.
Love, love, love this place
Terence Dupree
Great dining experience. Staff was awesome! Food was sooooo good! I was a little uncomfortable initially as I was dressed down in shorts, t shirt, sneakers, and a ball cap. While it may not seem like so from the outside, once inside the restaurant seems much more upscale. However everyone that assisted us never batted an eye. The food was absolutely delicious. It's kind of pricey but well worth it in the end.
Bobby D
A great place. It looks kind eh on the outside. But when you walk inside your smacked in the face with an amazing atmosphere and friendly faces. The food was fantastic. Best steak we had during our week. The other place was Old Homestead in Caesars, Golden Steer blew them away. They steak was cooked and seasoned perfect. The mashed potatoes were great. We got the home made Caesar they make right at your table. It was almost too much. Almost. The price want bad at all. The only thing that kinda stunk was the wait for the table. About 10-15 minutes after our reservations but they had a full full house. Cant wait to go back our next trip.
Sydney Settle
One of the best steakhouses in Vegas, truly. The tableside ceasar salads are amazing, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, there’s so much history to the place and the steaks/sides are always cooked to perfection. I’ve also had some of the best cocktails of my life here. Don’t judge them by their outside appearance haha. Highly recommend!
James Falcon
What a fabulous dinning experience taking you back to the 60's, 70's, and 80's! At any moment Sinatra, Martin, Davis Jr could walk out or seeing some of the mafia grace your presence. My wife & I had the best Tomahawk ribeye ever and we have been to the majority of top Steakhouses. The service was excellent along with some of the history given to us by our waiter.
Tim Perkins
Our visit was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. The waitstaff was engaging and professional the entire night. Ricardo was fantastic as well as entertaining while making our Caesar salads tableside. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Dinner at the Golden Steer was one of the high points of our stay in Vegas. The only regret we had was not having room for dessert but we were able to watch Bananas Foster being made for another table.
I can't recommend dinner here enough. Just make sure you make reservations well in advance.
David Johnson
One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. This place is a hidden gem and a great taste of the old Vegas. The service is impeccable. Tableside Caesar salads, excellent wine list, tableside desserts. All around, the experience here is fantastic and one that's hard to find nowadays, Vegas or elsewhere.
Zachary Triplett
Excellent experience! As many other reviews have said, I was a bit skeptical when seeing this place from the outside...but the inside did not disappoint! We got to sit at “John Wayne’s booth”. The service was impeccable and the steak was awesome! Can’t wait for my next visit.
dan Hill
This place is the best! The ribeye was great! Love that they enforce the dress code.
Brenda White
Wendy and LeAnn were the best on our 1st experience at Golden Steer. Make sure to book a reservation to seat in the main dining room. We all enjoyed steak with lobster with twice baked potatoes and Ceasars salad. 3 people with drinks & delicious meal topped off with creme brulee was a treat.
niner nando
This is definitely worth the money! The steak was perfect, the mac and cheese was to die for and the cream of Spanish was most excellent.
Dominique F (niq)
This restaurant was recommended from our LYFT driver since we were from out of town. The steak was tender and thick, by far the best I have experienced ever. Service was great and the restaurant was classy. I would go again when in Vegas. Going here is a MUST!
Albert Wu
Best place I ate on my last trip to Vegas. It's got that old Vegas feel. Great mood and decorations. You feel the history of the place as you enjoy your meal in what was Marilyn Monroe's booth back in the day.
I had the ribeye in rare and it was excellent with the side of fries. This is a must try. Everything else in new Vegas disappointed.
Frank Woner
Great atmosphere, excellent service, and the steaks were cooked just like we ordered 😀
Alan Nusbaum
Always amazing. The food, the service.
Tavia Serrin
First off, the service was above and beyond! The waiters were on point! The food was delicious. I had the porterhouse steak....seared and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere, the decor, the whole dining experience was divine.
Anthony Shacar
Great experience in a classic Vegas Steakhouse!
Joe Abello
Historic steakhouse with a great backstory. Probably the best Caesar Salad that we've ever had, mixed and tossed tableside haha. The special NY Strip was a monster of a steak, cooked exactly to order and the leftovers were just as good a few hours later at the hotel room. Ambiance/service/food were 100.
M Ornelas
Best steak in Vegas hands down Hubby and I love it here..
Thank you for always giving amazing service ❤
Steve O'shields
An absolutely incredible experience! From making the Caesar dressing and Cherries Jubilee at the table to the service and quality of food made this a once in a lifetime meal. Truly enjoyed every aspect of the evening.
Billy Dixon
The food and service was outstanding. The king crab and lobster were cooked to perfection. The Tomahawk steak melted in my mouth. Must stop whenever in Vegas
John Sundahl
I can't say enough about this restaurant experience. We went for my birthday. There were 7 of us. Our meals were a perfect 10. The service was exceptional. Thanks for a perfect day.
Cheri Helvie
The food was amazing, but the service was impeccable! It was a wonderful atmosphere for a romantic anniversary. Thank you!
Armando Rodriguez
Yes it was worth the hype. Caesar Salad made table side, 16oz New York Strip Medium Rare cooked perfectly and outstanding service. 👌 …
William Windsor
The service was impeccable. The Filet Mignon ordered were cooked medium rare and were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We picked the baked potato and mushrooms as our side dishes. The cocktails and wine were great with dinner. It was a special dinner for our anniversary.
Karl Schulman
I was told by several friends that this is a must try place. First off the hosts, made an amazing effort to seat us and accommodate the extra guests we brought along. Right off the bat we saw none other than Mario Andretti sitting in the restaurant. I knew this was going to be a treat. The food was top notch. Aged steaks with au poiver, roasted asparagus, delicious. The service is quite remarkable. The wine list is fantastic. I would eat here every night if possible. Definitely a Must Try!
William Miller
Truly, the best steakhouse in Vegas! Service and food was exceptional. Everyone was formal but friendly. The rib eye was delicious, albeit not quite as good as Delmonico's in NYC, but close. The salad and dinner rolls were both great as well as the table-side created bananas foster. Reservations are required, we tried to visit several times without and they were not able to accommodate us, so plan ahead. Oh, the Old Fashioned cocktail I had with dinner was incredible! The best I've had, better than the Chandlier Bar at the Cosmo. Decor is old school Victorian, dark wood, and red leather upholstery, we visited on an off night and were fortunate enough to be seated in the Elvis Presley booth, a corner that overlooks the rest of the dining area. I highly recommend and will definitely be back again.
Glenn B
Best place to eat here in Vegas!! Beef Ribeye was delicious!
Cyn N
I found this place on Groupon and just reading about it ahead of time got me excited. Walking in felt like walking through a time warp into old Las Vegas...in a good way. From the cozy booths to the wall decor to the carts pushed with superb displays of amazing looking food. I started with crab cakes that were absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I both got the Cesar salad (made fresh tableside) and split the rib eye and twice baked potato. Everything was nearly perfect. Our only complaint might be that our steak, which we ordered to be cooked medium came out more medium rare. But honestly overall, it was such a great experience that we weren't going to knock it a star for that. We got stuffed so ended up not getting desert, but I'm sure we'll be back to try that bananas foster.
CnE Pup
Awesome experience! Everything was perfect especially the great service! #2 Steakhouse in Vegas and probably tied for #1 if they served wagu.
Jim Schaner
Best meal we have ever had, absolutely amazing experience. So glad to learn the history of the restaurant as well. A MUST!!!
Tracy Johnson
I RARELY give a place 5 stars, but I have to admit. This was the BEST steak and lobster I have ever had.. and I've had lobster from Maryland and Jamaica. I've lived in Vegas for years.. best meal my husband and I have ever had in our lives.. no joke. Service is very good and professional. Worth it to spend $30 on the groupon to save $60 because it is EXPENSIVE. I had the filet (I think it was 12oz?) and jumbo lobster tail. It was $130 bucks. Sides are $11 each. Mac n cheese and creamed spinach were amazing. Sides are quite large. My husband got the ribeye. Big, gorgeous, and both steaks cooked the most perfect med rare. Lobster melted in my mouth. All together meal was $215, groupon took off $60, but of course we tip on the original bill since waiters have to tip out on that, not discounted meals. It was just amazing, but who can spend $200 on food? So once in a while, it's the perfect choice.
Mike Mcneil
Excellent steak and service!!
Ricardo Avalos
The atmosphere takes you back in time. The food is delicious and the portions are big. Very romantic. Well worth the price. I recommend you try it for your self.
Shawn Clair
This was the best meal I have ever had. Would highly recommend it.
Shorthorn & Carb Legs, twice baked potatoe, and finish with the Cherries Jubilee
Todd James
Didn't have reservations so had to sit at the bar but the service and food was outstanding
Christopher Dorsett
An absolute must go experience. Worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and order the table side Caesar salad and one of the flambeed desserts.
Roberta Viera
Was a great experience the food was excellent, best steakhouse I've ever been to hands down from the service to atmosphere to the food , tomahawk ribeye melts in your mouth ,
huge lobster tail was money !
Lots of money lol but worth it
Cant wait to go back next visit to vegas
Carolyn Hemming
Great food and great atmosphere. Don't let the outside fool you this is a classic steakhouse frequented by Sinatra and Elvis.
JT
Amazing food. Had the lobster and Cesar salad at the bar for dinner the other night. Absolutely fantastic. The lobster tail was some of the best I've ever had in town. Could not recommend this place more.
Darlene Ledin
Atmosphere was cool and retro. Steak was cooked perfectly. Salad was a little watery. Service was very attentive. I look forward to returning but will go with the mashed potatoes next time.
Jose Navarro
TOP OF THE LINE ON EVERYTHING !!!
ITS NOT CHEAP!!!..NO SIR.!!.BUT ITS SOOOOOO WORTH IT!!! BEST STEAK I EVER HAD. BIGGEST MOST DELICIOUS LOBSTER +TOMAHAWK(RARE) WITH MAC N CHEESE AND WHIPPED POTATOES...HUGE PORTIONS..SERVICE WAS ON POINT..AND FOR THE RECORD...JEANS AND T- SHIRTS ARE FINE TO DINE..DONT NEED A FANCY TIE OR DRESS TO ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. 🥃💯💯💯...GREAT DINNER..FOR 3 WITH WINE BOTTLES.AND DESERT..$600 EVEN...
Pimpson70
The Golden Steer had thee best steak I’ve ever had, it ruined any steak experience that I will have in the future, nothing will compare to it. The wait staff was great and very friendly and attentive
Christoffer Ahlstrøm
This place is everything that we miss in high dining restaurants. Personal service, without being pushy. Big servings without being over the top. They keep it simple but they do it well. The interior really brings you back in time together with the old waiters that serves the food old style. The stake was so good that It didn't need any sides or saus. It just was perfect and stood great by it self. Even though the sides were perfect as well. If there was anything to complain about it was the drinks, was not great and I would rate them at 2-3stars. But I will be back.
Courtney B
Nice atmosphere, but wasn’t super impressed with this steakhouse. My prime rib was a little dry in the center. Steak was very bland as well. Mashed potatoes were ok, I think they could’ve been seasoned better. Better off going to a chain steakhouse like Flemings.
Jaleesa Jones
Came here with my girlfriend and I must say we were impressed the moment we’ve walked in the door. Didn’t expect the ambiance inside. Food was GREAT!We will definitely be back.
Christa Stofferahn
Everything we had was simply amazing. From the seafood stuffed mushrooms, fresh made caesar salad, and the tender, perfectly done filet mignon. We highly recommend and will visit again on our next trip to Vegas!
Note: men in slacks and jackets, women in a dress of some sort. Not a Jean's type of place, you will feel out of place.
M “Mark63” Ray63
I have dined at lots of upscale restaurants but Golden Steer is absolutely the best restaurant I have ever dine at the service and food were perfect I have been bragging about this restaurant since I have returned home.
Fred Higa
Old style steakhouse. Had the bone in ribeye steak cooked perfect. Excellent service. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Max Frodge
Food was good but Service was very slow. Tables in the bar were very noisy for a nice dinner. People waiting for tables stand all around the bar area making it very crowded.
Robert England
Nice place with a cool atmosphere but the food definitely wasnt worth the price.
CS Technology Gaming and Entertainment
What's to say that already hasn't been? I got the Ribeye Steak bone-in medium rare with the herb butter option on top and a side of sautéed mushrooms and whipped potatoes. The service was magnificent, I always had a full glass, and the food was to die for while the atmosphere was a calming dim atmosphere of a classic steakhouse with Frank Sinatra playing in the background.
Some people question the price, the location, the overall reason to go but you'll never know until you've tried. Unlike your other establishments around Vegas this one is worth the money. In most cases I can say I've had some of the finest cuts and greatest tasting food this side of the Mississippi and this place beats them all.
Vegan's have options too. There is a small assortment of non-meat items on the menu that you can enjoy. However, this place is a steak-bosses DREAM. Bring your apatite and have an adventure!

Here again, and the food was (as always) simply incredible! Staff was amazing, and the meal was delish! Had the filet mignon with sides of whipped potatoes, Mac n Cheese, and sauteed mushrooms. I'm normally not a fan of mushrooms one bit, but I could eat these mushrooms by the plate without pausing for air. Branched out and tried something new; escargot! If you don't forget the lemon, be prepared for an incredible flavor profile and adventure. Did not disappoint, and this will definitely be something I continue to enjoy the next time I'm here.
Don't think twice about this place.
It's worth every penny!

It was a wonderful dinner. One of the best steaks/ meals I’ve had in a long time.

the food and services was outstanding. They have earned Best steak house in Las Vegas NV.
Agrow One
Best steakhouse in Vegas hands down! Great atmosphere, awesome staff.. plus insane food and drinks! Call early they fill up fast.. Ask to sit at the bar if all else fails!

We've been wanting to eat here for a while & finally had the chance. The service was excellent. We had booth seating, which was nice. I was underwhelmed by the food. I ordered the filet & although it was cooked fine, it had no flavor. I've had dry aged steaks elsewhere & can taste the difference so I'm not sure what wet aging does... The sides were fine. They do indeed have the biggest baked potato. The chocolate cake was delicious. I would go back for the chocolate cake & their signature drink (the golden steer).

Outstanding, old school, Steakhouse experience. Brought my 21 yr old nephew here for his birthday celebration, didn’t disappoint. Steaks were outstanding. Table side prep Caesar was fun and very tasty. We had a whipped potato side, as well….but wasn’t needed. Service staff went out of their way, to make a special evening for my nephew. Well done, Golden Steer!

Loved it! The BEST ceaser salad EVER. Excellent service. Fun drink menu. The filet was perfection. Love the history and the vintage decor.

We had such a great time. Getting reservations can be tricky...so make sure to book in advance. The staff was very nice and waited to make the table side bananas foster until my wife returned from the restroom. It was nice to see that they were paying attention.
We had steak and lobster...it was done perfectly.
We will be back.

Came here for the 1st time a few weeks ago, and it's not the greatest thing ever. People make it seem like you gotta come before you die or else you never really lived but that's not the case. Just another above average restaurant that so happens to serve descent steak at an overwhelming price because dean martin came here a looooooong time ago.

The food was good but not great, I expected more. Reservations were at the end of the night and we felt rushed. Are order were also not correct and missing part of order.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and we came to dinner here after seeing good reviews. The location is pretty unassuming In a small strip mall. The food is excellent and the vibe in the restaurant feels Old School. French onion soup was spot on. 24 ounce Prime Rib with a side of sautéed mushrooms were excellent. The Prime Rib is good as you will have anywhere. GREAT steakhouse.

What a wowing experience! The food was absolutely outstanding - best Caesar salad I have ever had, escargot just delicious and the steak (I had the filet) was cooked to my preferred taste with perfection! And then the dessert!? Bananas foster was fun to watch being created and just divine to eat! On top of the amazing food, the service was perfect, impeccable and delightful. Everyone was attentive and so kind! We can’t wait to go back when we are back in Vegas!

Ate at the Golden Steer for the 4th time and it was consistently amazing. From the service to the food and atmosphere, everything was impeccable. This is a must-go for anyone spending time Vegas, and if I was a local, I’d probably go broke.

Walking into the Golden Steer is taking a step back in time. A time where service and quality reigned supreme. The atmosphere is dark wood, leather tufted booths, waiters who every wish is to serve and soft lighting. Excellent for a business dinner or romantic dinner. The service is impeccable, the quality of the food is above reproach. Table side service for Cesar salad where they actually prepare the dressing from scratch as well as your salad.. My only regret is that I had but one meal there during my short stay in Las Vegas. Highly recommend and will be sure to dine there every time I am in town.

Great meal good service. Awesome overall atmosphere being old school vegas. Would go back for sure. Pricey as expected but good.

Enjoy great food and cocktails in the nostalgic luxurious supper club setting. One of the guest who accompanied me said the steak was the best he ever had. I had chicken of the angels and was surprised at how savory and tender the chicken was. I highly recommend this place.

My wife and I quite possibly had our most memorable restaurant experience ever while visiting in January. Firstly, we were seated in the Sinatra booth, which my wife absolutely loved. The service was absolutely to notch. We got a seafood platter to start, delicious. Caesar salad prepared tableside, fantastic. Each got a new york strip, superb. When we return to Vegas we will surely return to the Golden Steer.
Kristine Jones
So good. Steak was excellent, so was the lamb chops. Bananas foster was superb. Will be back!

We made reservations about a month in advance because this place books up quick. Upon arriving the exterior is deceiving but once you walk in it’s amazing. The decor and atmosphere was as expected with that old Vegas look. The service was phenomenal and the servers make sure you have everything you need. We ordered filets, lobster tails and crab legs. Sadly the food came out semi warm to cold. We were starving so we settled and ate. The lobster was very tough and over cooked. The famous King Crab legs were cold and very small for the price tag placed on them. If my food was hot and not over cooked this would’ve been a 4 star experience on food alone.

First off when I called and made the reservation the host was very nice and was very helpful. We requested a Rat Pack Booth and sure enough when we were seated we sat on Dean Martin's Booth. My wife and I shared a rib eye and crab cocktail. Both were fantastic. The service was great and I can't wait to go back.

We had a small private wedding dinner on May 14th and it was the best experience. Not only was the food amazing and plentiful, the wait staff was wonderful. Even setting up the contract was easy. They were very accommodating.

Ive been going to Golden Steer for years now. Always a top notch experience. I screwed up and accidentally made reservations for 4 on a bar top table, not ideal. They were able to accommodate us to a standard dining room table even though it was a packed house. Really appreciated that. Service is always top notch. Steaks are cooked and seasoned just right. If you want to splurge definitely go for the lobster tail, best I've ever had. Its a pricey place but well worth the money.

Amazing service and amazing food and drink. Make sure to get the Caesar salad and the bananas foster. Steak cooked to perfection - medium and not too salty. Vegas baked potato loaded and mushrooms great sides. Definitely will be back.
Jonathan Bryant
I will start and say the steak is top 3 I have ever had. And thats where it ends. The calamari tasted frozen and were not fresh, the sides are not really large portions and not seasoned very well( broccoli and asparagus). The cheesecake was very good but the smallest piece I've ever seen. So if you want to go and get the steak it is great. But all around experience is just not there. And the servers are really great but maybe too much.
Justin Purcell
The history and local allure make this a must try for all locals and visitors.
We opted for the Tomahawk special, ordered medium rare. It came out a little over medium, still acceptable, but had a lack of salt/seasoning.
2 side dishes: Mac and cheese, loaded baked potato.
Mac and cheese, no love, bland, very sad.
Baked potato seemed like it was cooked the day before, and microwaved, told the server, but she said that they're normally great...maybe a bad day.
With tip the bill was 270ish dollars, for that price there are better local options with better quality and attention to detail.
Reading other reviews I think we might have gone on a bad night, but that was our experience.
Adam Lopez
Great atmosphere and the dinner was amazing. As some places have cut back on quality or service Golden Steer has not. The ability to give a perfect environment for dinning and atmosphere you cnt go wrong with the Steer.

I was really looking forward to coming..I had heard AWESOME things..and it's so nostalgic ! My meal was not as good as expected.. they messed up our order.. steak was not good..potatoes also not good.. atmosphere very cool.. waiters very attentive and great! I wish the food was as good.. they did however comp my steak because they messed up my order and I thought that was very kind!
Rusty Humphries
If it’s good enough for Frank, Sammy, Dino and the rest of the rat pack, it certainly is good enough for me. This is the old-school charm Las Vegas steakhouse you’re looking for. Love this place! Not cheap though.
Neda Colovic
Perfect food, steaks are here among best. Cesar salad best I ever had.
