Reviews of Nine Irish Brothers Mass Ave Indy
PG Madden
First time eating a traditional Irish meal. We ordered 3 different items and all were great. And portions were large; one of our orders, guiness stew, was just a half size but only managed to eat about 1/3 of the dish. Great atmosphere and servers where very nice and helpful.

We were doing a bar crawl for my nieces wedding and we had a ton of fun. My daughter's fiance, from Scotland, was with us and much to our delight. The band that was playing was a Scottish American band and my son-in-law to be could not have been more excited to have a piece of home in Indianapolis. Ton of fun, great wait staff, really good food and creative drinks. Definitely check it out, nice outside area to sit as well.

Been before late at night for drinks but tonight was our first night here for the meal! We ordered the appetizer bread, fish sandwich with their house chip fries, and bangers and mash. Pretty small crowd (we were the 4th group there) but it was a Sunday evening at 6pm. Bread was DeNsE and delicious- served room temp. Fish sandwich was very good and so was the bangers and mash! Great food. About $12-13 per person

Stopped by this pub at 8:20pm, were given food menus, then told the kitchen closed at 8pm when we ordered, a total bummer. The atmosphere was good, the beer selection was decent, but we left after one beer... for somewhere else to eat on Mass Ave with a kitchen that was still open.
Mckenzie Terry
We came in for some corn beef and cabbage and sat at one of the communal tables, after not being greeted for twenty minutes, we sat at the bar. The bartenders were good, but our night was made so much better by the gentleman’s who cleared our table. He said it was his first day. He was so surprised pleasant and had a great smile, just wanted to give a shout out to charlie and let management know he should probably get promoted ASAP, we all need a good smile!!

The waitress got the orders of the 4 of us that were there. 4 other people of our group showed up and she didn't act like they were there. Went to order food and the kitchen was closed. 10pm at night and could get no food. Not even a big of chips. The waitress seemed more worried about being on her phone than tsking our orders. I'll be back to try the food, because I've been told it's good.

Food was great and vibe was fun. Some of the items were a bit overpriced (perhaps they were worth it, but the cost alone discouraged me from buying them). The chairs are not comfortable enough for long hour dining, so have a meal and a couple drinks, but don't expect to stay for hours comfortably.
John Macleod
Typical Irish pub food with a lovely atmosphere. That staff were quite friendly. The shepherds pie was delicious! I will be a returning customer. It has pretty good history!
Rachel S
Nice cozy Irish style pub with a good selection of drinks, waitress was so nice and generous with us. The shepherds pie was wonderful and filling and the na beer option (Heineken) was great!
Jennifer L
It was very good!! Had fish n chips that were the best we've ever had. And the salmon was excellent too! We'll definitely be back. Prices very reasonable!
Erin Troxell
We have eaten here quite a bit. You can't go wrong with the reuben. Other dishes are hit or miss. Portions are a bit small for the price. Beer and whiskey selection is great.
Zachary Taylor
The food is excellent! I recommed couch Bobby's full plate meal, the fired pickles are a good start as well. I do always get a half and half beer, they do offer different kinds so ask the waiters.
Driver Mojo
Just the Irish pub for a shot and a pint. Corn beef and cabbage was proper tenderness but lacked seasoning. Her Sheppard's pie was more a "cottage" pie made with unseasoned ground beef instead of lamb. I had my hopes on a salmon black but only a limited menu was available. I enjoyed the corn beef with added salt and pepper. We tried a drop-shot that had a butter scotch hint at the end....orange with whiskey thingy.:)
Joanna Fruchtnicht
Prices were decent and my husband (who lived in the UK) said it was the most authentic food he can find state side. Waitress was super nice and helpful, decor was awesome, seemed super clean and our food was really good. Only problem was parking and that's not really their fault.
Kayli Cole
Always a fun time! If Highland Rein is in town definitely stop by as well! The bartenders are always great. A good place to stop by for a drink or some food during the day. ☘️
Holly Faust
Cozy comfortable indoors with nice big pub like tables. Waitress was excellent! The food was excellent!!!
We went to celebrate a birthday. My son, wisely, chose this place. Parking was not an issue, either.
Joe Fall
Cool little Irish bar on Mass Ave next to downtown Indy. Service was great and the Irish car bombs went down smooth.
C Sparks
This is a spectacular pub with attentive staff and delicious food. The food is not only delicious but reasonably priced. Try the Irish stew!! The drink selection is pretty extensive. If you are looking for a traditional Irish pub with great food, drinks and atmosphere then this place is a must visit.
Tommy Duke
Absolutely LOVE this place. We were asked to play here on a challenging evening for all and they accommodated very well and we made a couple adjustments and it went very well. GREAT staff, great selections - great bands (of course The Dukes) great place. Thanks!
Judy Carmody
Great service. Awesome bartender. Comfortable environment.
Cody Amos
Staff was nice, fish and chips were delicious. If you want Irish fare finding a better place will be difficult.
Jessica Barlow
Food was amazing!
Beverley Holeman
Server was great. Make sure you follow her advice if you are unsure if you should order a full or half meal. Loved the music playing in the background. Ordered the veggie sandwich and fish and chips
Both very good. Best part were the chips. Will come back.
Jordan Pace
Speedy service with great bar to watch a game. Wish the open time were a few hours earlier on Saturdays to watch the early college games, but overall a good spot.
Yesenia
Went here for a birthday dinner. They had already our table reserved and the waiter was great with a large group that we were. The food had a very unique taste and the beer selection as a bit small but good. I would have wished for a larger selection.
Josiah Partin
Wonderful experience! The food was nothing short of amazing, everything we ordered was great. The servers worked together bringing food and drinks as it was busy. Live music was fun and enjoyable! Definitely my go-to for Indianapolis now, planning another trip soon.
John Freeland
Great place to be, wonderful food and beverages. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
James O'Brien
Had a great steak. My coworkers enjoyed the fish and chips. Great beer options.
Would definitely return.
Jim Peterson
Drinks are great, but the food was just ok. Glad I got the full portion of corned beef and cabbage. I think the half portion would not have been enough to absorb all that Jameson. The beef was tasty enough, but the cabbage was a little bland. The band, bless their hearts, tried to sound like Flogging Molly but no one could understand a single word. :)
Karen Ballard
Service is top-notch and the food is delicious! Whiskey selections seem never ending. Be a part of Jameson Club. Picture is the Jameson 18, smooth!
Peri Rogowski
Fun place with awesome staff! Nice pub to hang out and listen to the amazing Scottish rock band Highland Reign!
allison wray
Fun and attentive staff. Energetic atmosphere. Great food and good memories!
Autumn Keown
This place was packed today!!! Carson took amazing care of us and all of the staff was on point! The food was delicious and we loved the Jameson with pickle juice shots he recommended! Thank you Carson for such a great experience on a very busy day 🏁 …
Kevin M. Brown
Excellent food and drinks. They have Guinness and Jamison Caskmates. All the food we have ordered is delicious. Live music is awesome! If you have been to Ireland and miss it, go here.
AuctionSellerNetwork LLC
Reservation in advance for a big group. Fun place, good service, waitstaff ALL in kilts. Great Irish live music usually going on.
Paul Fiscus
Great on every level. Waiter took order from memory and got everything right. Checked on us regularly also
Joe Dorsey
Our server was extremely knowledgeable very friendly and attentive. The reuben sandwich was fantastic.
Jeremiah Kinnamon
A lively place with good food and drinks. Friendly staff and interesting decor. Lots of nostalgia for any proud Irish American
Alex Rathke
Beer and vibe are great, but food is from frozen and that's a real bummer.
Alex Eggers-Daffron
What happened to the corn chowder?!?! Best menu item, except the Guinness.
Christina Morris
Food was good but service was ugh! Came here Friday the 18th. Bartender was kinda a jerk and the male manager was to busy taking shots to notice a thing. Another server helped us alot. Kinda sad because everyone was talking to great about the place. Maybe we will try agian another weekend.
Jeanne Deangulo
Food was great! One of the only places you can get Manger's Irish Cider in the Indy area. Service was okay. They weren't very busy but took a bit to take our order, no butter available for the soda bread and we had to ask for silverware. There were plenty of servers who were sitting at a table talking and a couple outside taking a smoke break.
Rhonda Pitifer
Stumbled upon this place while showing my sister around downtown Indy. We really lucked out. The bartender was great and had great suggestions on drink choices. It was on a Friday before 5 so it was just beginning to draw in the working crowd. I would definitely go back on a weekend.
Crystal Darling
Clean place, pretty cool setting they got but the waitress never put are order in an blamed it on 100 different things before I said screw it an left after almost waiting for corn beef and cabbage egg rolls.
Gabriel Robichaud
It is what you would expect from a Irish Pub. Food and beer were good, plus the ambiance is quite nice. But I wouldn't say that food wise it deserves 5 stars.
Tammy M.
Yum! Bangers and mash, fish and chips, Guinness, Irish coffee... Clean place and friendly staff. Not more you could ask for. 😁 …
Jim Buchholz
Always have a great time at 9 Irish. Recently befriended one of the Bartenders Kaleigh who just makes the atmosphere that much better. Definitely a solid spot.
Windy J
This is one of my favorite places in downtown Indy, but our dinner tonight was a little disappointing. First, let me say that our waitress, Kaleigh, did a great job, especially with the obstacles she was faced with (staff shortages and cooks who clearly had no clue). I ordered the Full Irish Breakfast, with the eggs over easy (so that would be runny yolk). The eggs came out hard and completely dry, the toast was burned almost to a char, and the bacon (which was supposed to be included) was missing. We had to ask for silverware, and no condiments were present or offered, and the food took so long to come out that we basically had to box it up and go. Usually, they are so much better than this!
Aimee Dean
Made my first visit here Saturday evening with a friend to try a restaurant new to us. We ordered the full Tiger Mike’s Fish and Chips to share. The two large pieces of fish and chips was excellent. We also tried the fabulous Guinness stew. Bonus: an Indy Scottish band, Highland Reign, set up as we were finishing our meal. We stayed for a few songs, which added to the fun of the evening.
Kelli Vida
Great food, great beer. We’ve had many servers and bartenders who were all great, but Gio stands out as a must-have if he’s working!
Alexander Geragotelis
A great restaurant! The food was amazing and authentically irish, as well as affordable. It has a lovely atmosphere and I always enjoy eating here
Mark Blessing
Nine Irish is amazing, my bartender Kaleigh was very attentive and did an excellent job at making sure me and my friends had a great time. Highly recommend
Ashley Olmos
Good drinks, great bartenders, and live music!
Kaden Fitzgerald
This is the perfect spot if you like a traditional Irish bar. Enjoy and drink and some food at this corner spot on mass ave.
Joey Hodgins
We went here in a bigger group for what I think most restaurants expect now days. Still the staff were a bit on the abrupt side when helping anyone in the group. Everyone else in the group was very impressed with the food. I felt it was very middle of the road, I had the corned beef and cabbage with soda bread. The beef was pretty good but a bit on the dry side of things, and potatoes were okay as well but nothing is race back to have, the soda bread which I was most excited about sadly was very stale and served dry so couldn't even be saved with a generous helping of butter. Overall the atmosphere is okay but nothing id race back to have again when I'm in town.
Sandra Soper
Friendly staff, great food and good atmosphere
Sarah Puls (MidtermMassacre)
Great spot! Sometimes parking is tricky, but that's just downtown for you. Nine Irish has always been a good place. I've popped in for a couple drinks and stayed longer for meals. Each experience was perfect! The employees are the stars of the show, and it definitely seems like most (if not all) of them truly love what they're doing. If you want some tasty food and great service even when busy, this is at the top of my list!
Kristen Luckett
I love Nine Irish Brothers for consistently great food and great service. Excellent fish and chips, and a great selection of Irish beers (although I do wish they had Harp...). My ONLY complaint is that we've tried to go there twice in the past month during their regular posted business hours, only to find them closed. They need to either honor their posted hours, or adjust them on line. Other than that, they're fantastic.
Allen
My wife and I went there tonight for our anniversary. First time we have ever been, and it was fantastic. From the food (and the Guinness,) to the atmosphere, to our waiter, everything was great. I can't wait to come back and try some more of the menu.
Lisa Seibel
Visited this place last night from out of town. What a wonderful neighborhood, friendly place! They had a great Irish band playing and everyone was up Irish dancing. So fun and the beers were great!
Leafy Sensation
Failed to remember pictures, my apologies. Anyway, went there for Mother's day, for 3 adults and a child the end result (price wise) was between $80-90. That included three drinks, bangers and mash (Irish sausage 2, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, and slice of soda bread. It was all tasty, sausage on the salty side.), corned beef and cabbage (it also came with a slice of bread and the serving was big), order of chips (basically fries but slices and a horseradish base sauce to dip), *insert name I forgot* (it was a grilled chicken breast with shamrock sauce, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, and slice of soda bread), and a Irish pizza to go (Flatbread topped with corned beef, red onion, green onion, havardi cheese, provolone cheese, and feta cheese side of horseradish sauce. This was my least favorite.) It was all pretty good. Good service.
Chris Bowen
Thank you for an amazing time! The food is very good and the staff took great care of us. Everything "Just clicked" with timing of appetizer, dinner, drinks, and checking back with our group.
The band was so much fun! We will definitely be looking at our schedule to see a time that they are going to be playing again and catch them!
Nick Bartolo
Mellow vibe. Friendly staff. Great live music. A little too quiet for a Friday night at 10:30.
Lisa Giblin
Great service and food. Loved the low key vibe. All the food we had was great but we would especially recommend the pub chips, goats cheese fritters and mashed potatoes. Drinks were well crafted.
Tammy Owen
Beef Manhattan and fish and chips today..yum!!
Mike Ames
Great place to go and have a couple drinks with friends. They usually have live bands on the weekends and it frequently becomes very lively. The staff is also friendly and prompt.
Kevin Young
My friend and I came for drinks after dinner. Megan, the bartender, was very knowledgeable about Irish whiskey and beer and made our night great!
Mike Zinkan
Everything was perfect, could not have been better. We had an Irish wake for the passing of my wife. The staff was very helpful, we had an Irish singer who also played the bagpipe. The food was also very good.
J MM
Great place with lots of smallish rooms which makes it feel cozy and warm. The wait staff all wear kilts so they are easy to spot. The menu has your favorite Irish dishes as well as some local favorites, like the pork tenderloin sandwich platter. A good spot to come with your friends for the night.
cjordan
My wife and I just went in yesterday for our first time and it is excellent here! Great beer, I specifically recommend the Dragon Red Ale. They have a very nice oatmeal stout as well. I love the atmosphere, the comfort, the food and the staff as well. Great experience, we will be back!
T. Etgen
This place has amazing food a fun atmosphear and great drinks. Deffinetly recomend and the prices arent too bad either
Corey Straub
Great food and atmosphere! The Irish band playing when we were there was amazing!
Zynnis AtManath
Can't give a true 5 stars until a full menu comes back. Our waitress was amazing. The food was great. Was the perfect spot to start off our anniversary night! I can't wait to stop back when the full menu is available.
Nate Chertack
Went on a Monday night so it was pretty empty/quiet - easy to get a seat. Servers were friendly and service was quick. Tried the chicken, the sauce and soda bread were absolutely delicious. I appreciated the accessible location. Would go again.
Eloy Alvear
I went in for a friends birthday party. The food was amazing! Idk if it "authentic Irish food but they it was definitely trying to keep in line with the theme. There was a live band the night I went in. Could be a Friday night or weekend thing either way I loved it!
Michal Wilson
Keith and Brittany were great! I always get great service when I visit. Brittany knows my order, but also recommends new drinks for me! Cozy, friendly atmosphere every time.
Ryan Glander
Went on a Saturday afternoon and the bartender (don't remember his name) was the best person I have ever met!
I'm from out of town. He gave me plenty of recommendations for places to go and things to do. And he also would just stop and have a conversation with me in his free time.
Incredibly awesome staff! Great beer! I didn't try the food
Christy Kane
One of the more authentic Irish pubs I've been to in the US. I heartily recommend the cottage pie and the Guinness Stew. Add a Magners or a Guinness. Just needs live music, perhaps an occasional storytelling night.
Robert Peck
I've been to 9 Irish bros in Lafayette Indiana several times years ago. This one is cool too. Live music, good beers and happy locals come together. Food is pretty good, but I'd avoid the pots of gold... just dry potatoes carved out with bacon bits and tons of shredded cheese, it could be way better if twice baked style. Overall cool place.
Kiara Casey
Great place, good people. Had a 21st birthday here and we embarrassed my friend when yelling happy birthday, everyone joined. It was a delight!
Charles R
This is one of my favorite places in town. However, the pandemic has affected them hiring staff and unfortunately the current people working there aren’t as attentive. The guy in bar is rude. Also, It’s an Irish pub! Where is the music??
Megan Anderson
Never have a bad experience at 9 Irish Brothers! The Irish appetizer pizza is so good, and the Guinness pours are truly on point. Sometimes there's also really great live music! Large space too, really open. Great location right on Mass Ave.
Rob W
This is a great place to grab lunch. The atmosphere is nice and light. The music is (usually) good. The servers are always attentive and friendly.
The food is fantastic, and there are enough options to bring you back multiple times before you try everything they offer.
John S
Have been here twice now. They have a great pour of Guinness and terrific selection of Irish whiskey. The Irish is very meaty and well cooked. The corn beef is very tender. They do a spectacular job on the there mashed potatoes and chips.
Allison Harrell
Great service, fun people, delicious food!
P. Karen Brierley
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the server was friendly, helpful. The food was AMAZING! I recommend the Goat Cheese Fritters, and Mike's Fish and Chips with Cole Slaw! I liked the Cottage Fries but had to leave most of those Carbs on the plate, so sad about that.
joe fosteson
Great food. The menu is small, but what they do make is excellent.
Eunice De La Torre
Everytime I've come here, it's been a consistent experience. Always a great server, always great food and not too expensive. I would recommend the shepherds pie but they have plenty of other options that are good. It's in Mass Ave, so parking is rough, but it's worth it.
Harley Dee
Great Irish food! Easy parking for downtown!
Tucker
The staff is wonderful and truly make the place a must-visit in Mass Ave. They are friendly and a lot of fun! The live music creates an atmosphere of excitement and fun and brings the bar and restaurant together. Food is delicious too! I recommend the wings with bomb sauce! Although, I did spend all night looking and I couldn’t find all 9 brothers.
Betty J Osthoff
Wonderful Irish Food! I come here as tradition every GenCon and will keep doing so as long as they are around. They have an excellent selection of Irish Whisky, and wonderful amount of food! Never had a bad meal and never expect to have one either.
Jordan Maust
Wonderful pub-type bar. Fun live music. DELICIOUS authentic (to the best of my knowledge) food. I went during St. Patty’s as well, and it was a blast! Such a fun, clean bar to sit, talk, and eat good food.
Amy Harvey
Best fish and chips in town!
John Graham
My experience at 9 Irish Brothers was fantastic. The service and food was great. The best fish & chips in the Indianapolis. I've eaten at most other places here that people raved and NO ONE COMES CLOSE to having fish & Chips better.
Joe Macareno
Cool Irish pub, well kept, good service. The music was cool too, had a live band playing Irish music.
Luke Renick
Amazing food and awesome staff. Great experience
Ally Bright
Had the best time at Nine Irish celebrating a birthday recently! A cool Scottish band was playing and we did a dance with the devil conga line. The drinks were amazing and we received the best service from Becca! I met some awesome people and highly suggest the Irish Black Apple!!
Alyssa Jacobs
I have only been 3 times now, but each time I have really enjoyed this place. It's perfect for my friends and I. The service has been awesome each time. I haven't tried any food yet, but so far the drinks are great. I recommend coming here if you just want a night to chill with the girls/guys while drinking some good beer...
Ronda Shepersky
This place is fabulous! Best fish I have ever had, that didn't come directly from the lake! The bartender was fantastic in describing the different beers! He was an awesome representative, friendly, great at serving us!
Rob Flask
Great fish and chips. The haddock instead of traditional cod was really good. I actually liked it better. The tartar sauce was meh. I'm picky wit tartar sauce and this was too sweet. But the fish didn't need it so it was okay. Hence the 4 stars. Good beers on nitro. One if the better Irish whisky lists I've seen
Bonita Logan
I enjoyed my first visit to Nine Irish Brothers. The food was great. The staff was very friendly and courtese and also on point. My servers Dustin and Katie were awesome. They both made sure my food was to my request and they made sure I had my food in a timely manner.I am planning on a ladies day and will be bringing my friends back to Nine Irish Brothers for lunch.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. My experience took place at the Mass. Ave. location.
STUART SCOTT
After walking into Nine Irish Brothers, it won't be long until you feel like you've been transported to Ireland. From the ambiance to the bar stools to the friendly staff, it's easy to forget you're in Indy. You will really feel at home here by the friendly staff who will treat you like you are long lost family returning home. I've been to many Irish Pubs in many towns in Ireland and a visit to Nine Irish Brothers has the same feel for sure. I would suggest the Shepherd's Pie. It is the best. The Fish & Chips are great. What is best is they do half orders of those and most items. The chips are great but order them without salt if you're watching your blood pressure. They have live traditional Irish music all the time. If in on a Friday, try the Tullamore Dew Shot and Pint $10 special. This combo will get you to where you are going fast. The Irish Whiskey selection is second to none.
Amber Beres
Traditional Irish Pub with amazing beer selection. I was told their Guinness is the best draw in the city. Attentive staff, lovely, subdued Irish tunes and decent food selection. The heavily wooded interior takes you back to Ireland. It is a must stop.
Mike Lutin
Food was decent, service was sub par. Kinda tough to take my order when you're behind the bar taking shots. Not a single plate was cleared from our table during service leaving our 2 appetizer plates clogging up most of the width of the table.
Christina Hunt-Schubnell
Always a great place to eat. They have live music on the weekends. Their St. Patrick's Day celebration is great too! Love their Pots of Gold and chips with some shamrock sauce. We love going here to see Highland Reign play.
Justin Sicking
Fun pub atmosphere, great beer list and delicious appetizers and food options. My wife and I actually split an order of Fish and Chips late one night after a show at the Murat and we both enjoyed it.
Timothy M Schwenk
Great service and atmosphere. Fresh Guinness on tap poured perfectly. Fish and chips were great and would be highly recommended. A bit of a walk down Mass Ave but plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available.
Krystal Hackney
I always have a great experience here. Their food is always spot on, their Guinness is amazing, and I love the music and decor.
Food I'd recommend is the Sheppard's Pie, fried pickles, and goat cheese curds
Shawn White
This place was awesome! The food was great. Service was super fast. The waitress was on top of it. My wife and I truly enjoyed the band. They were so fun. We already have planned a return trip. This is a must try for anyone looking for a great time in indy.
Nathan Diller
I love this bar. It's old reliable. When you need a place to go it's there for you. When no one else wants you. It'll give you drinks to choke down your tears. There are many times I've gone there with my friends to rethink our night.
Bien Pham
Came for GenCon, stayed for food. And in the words of wise women, "Gotta come back for that Dee!"
Maggie S
Amazing service from the waittress who worked valentine's day, she covered the whole place and had a good attitude the whole time, not sure I would've been able to pull that off. The corned beef was perfect, will definitely be back.
Beck
Not as good as Lafayette, but service was great!
Jeremy Long
Great location on Mass Ave, walkable to Old National Centre/Murat for pre- or post--show meal. Lots of great menu options for food & beverage. Shepherd's Pie a favorite in my group. Server attentiveness was not great, maybe a busier night or our location in the back of the dining room, but no harm done.
wei wang
Really good place for beer and food!
Daniel DeLullo
Consistently Great. Traditional Irish fare. Thus time I brought my parents and had (of course) the Corned Beef and Cabbage. A heaping mound of brisket with white cheddar mash and perfectly cooked cabbage with a slight crisp. The Corned Beef is seasoned "just right" and not too salty as most restaurants overdue. My Mother had the fish tacos which were quite delicious as well. The only thing I would change is the sauce on the tacos. It was a typical sweet Asian style which I wish had been more of an Irish inspired sauce. Overall, they always get a 5 for not only service but food and atmosphere. (My parents are in their 70s and enjoyed the experience also)
Pam Miller
Our first visit, but definitely not the last. A group of five, celebrating our grandson's graduation. We were visiting in Ireland just ayear ago. These fish and chips were better than UK or Ireland. Our 2 grandsons had the pizza appetizer, and BLT. SODA BREAD was great.
What made the meal though, was John, our Waiter. Friendly, knowledgeable, and able to handle special requests. Nine Brothers is a 3 hr trip from our Southern Indiana home, BUT WE WILL BE BACK whenever we are in Indy.
Thanks again JOHN P. ! ! !
DeAnna Vorndran
Great atmosphere. Fun service.
Edgar Yother
Full disclosure, I play here regularly as a musician, but staff has always been super friendly and accommodating. The rotating selection of beers has always been interesting. Jerry and the family care about running a place people like.
Corey Metcalf
The best pub I've been to in Indy by far! Great location to attract a great crowd. The live interactive bands seal the deal for having a memorable night with friends. And, I've even seen one of the nine brothers dance a jig on the bar and then he personally went around and made sure every patron was having a good time.
Lisa Givan
First time visiting. We were fortunate enough to find parking right out front then walked to The Murat for a show. The Reuben Eggrolls were AWESOME!! Our waitress was very friendly & helpful with menu choices. We'll definitely go back to try other food items.
Tim San Filippo
Every time I come here I feel at home and cozy. Great atmosphere whether busy or empty, and great menu and drink selection.
Brandon Baker
We went on the day before St. Patrick's Day this year and the atmosphere was great. There was a large crowd, to be expected. The menu for this weekend was limited but the food is excellent.
Tim Miller
Excellent food, great atmosphere. Service is usually good, but can be slow during non-peak hours. They seem to stay under staffed or get distracted doing other things when there's not a lot of customers. Otherwise it's a great place and still a favorite.
Alexandra Hazen
Yum! My family and I went here on our way to the Escape Room. It really felt like I was in a pub in Ireland. I had the Shephard's pie (half portion), which was really good. I am so glad I had a half portion because it was very filling. To complete the meal, I had a Guinness, which was very smooth. What's cool about this place is that they have various drinks that you can have with your Guinness. All the wait staff wore kilts that helped add to the ambiance.
Shane Quinn
Travelled a long way, the welcome from Nicole was amazing. She gave us a proper pint of Guinness, and was so nice. All I want from a pub , and from a barmaid!
Grant “gksmithlcw” Smith
Great place! I highly recommend if you're a fan of pub culture or Irish culture.

Good food, good beer. Lots of whiskeys. Stick with that. This is not a cocktail bar, just beer food and whiskey. Only negatives was that the end of the bar had some regulars, bartenders, managers, etc that didn’t know that “if you’re not working then don’t be behind the bar”.
Abdullah alzeer
I love this place. I've been coming to this place for couple of years now. Good music, excellent food. Shepherd pie, pots gold and goat cheese fritters are my favorites. Outdoor area is average. Life music nights are fun too.
Chris Harbin
Great atmosphere, great food. Good prices and a friendly staff. Saturday's have live music that is wonderful, and it is just an overall fun place to go. Only complaint I have is parking is rough. That is not really a restaurant problem as much as it is a side effect of being on Mass Ave.
Kathy Cohen
Loved the atmosphere. The staff was fantastic. The food was very tasty. (Had the shepherds pie 😊). The place is very lively especially when the band started playing. Wonderful traditional music. …
Jason Rodriguez
Very kind and Attentive waiter. Some good wings! Order them every time i go. Good beer options. Recommend if u want to hang in a pub feeling enviroment
Matthew Jones
9 Irish Brothers is the best Irish bar I've been to in Indiana. Hands down.
I've been to O'Reilly's. I've been to the Claddagh. And I've been to other miscellaneous Irish pubs. But this place is just pure awesomeness. Their soda bread taste like dessert. Their Shepherd's Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage is the best I've ever had.
I literally travel 20 to 25 minutes from where I live just to go eat at that restaurant when I'm feeling up for Irish food. No joke!
If you enjoy Irish food, you would be insane not to visit this place if you have the opportunity to and you're hungry or thirsty for a pint of beer.
You will love this place. It has all kinds of Irish themed decor inside. My name is not George Foreman but I guarantee it- that you will love this place.
Janel Powers
We had our wedding dinner here and the service was amazing! They opened early just for us and the wait staff was fast and friendly. The food was SO GOOD; even my super picky mom loved the food! I love this place and can't wait to go back.
Brian C
I'm quite happy to have a location of my favorite Irish Pub in Indy. It's not quite the same as the one in Lafayette, but that's not to say that it should be. Selection of beers is authentically Irish and the parent restaurant has been recognized for the best Guinness pour in the US before. It's a well appreciated addition to Mass.
Nav Loveday
You can't go wrong here. Bring your appetite! You will leave either stuffed or with a box. Classic corned beef and cabbage is a home run. Service is usually great.
Jeff Musick
Not as good as previous visit. Luke warm food but tasty. They are among this list of many restaurants that can't get people to work. We need to stop printing free money.
Patsy Newson
Great server. Large portions of food. Fish was wonderful
Hunter Roudebush
Great atmosphere, great whiskey selection and tasty food! What more do you need? Don't miss this one on your mass Ave bar hop!
Rhonda Smith
I had the Tim's hello connermara chicken. It was amazing! Full of flavor and yet so light I could finish the plate! A do again! Staff also a big plus! Friendly and attentive.
Robert Ruble
Awesome, authentic Irish-style pub and restaurant. Food and drinks are great. Atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. Wait staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant.
deanna davis
For my daughters bachelorette party we went on the bike ride and this was a stop on the way, great drinks and great bartenders!
Congrats Alisha and Brian 💞 …
Rhea Bagby
Our server Megan was so good! Catered to all of our large table needs! Cannot recommend her enough! Can not wait to come back to Nine Irish Brothers.
Chad Naville-Cook
Impression: Irish pub with all the Irish things you would picture in your mind. The decor is pub style with large, dark wooden structures and a large assortment of irish beers. Its on a nice corner location with windows so you can gauge if you will be able to get a table or not.
Pros: The food is well priced and appropriately portioned, if not largely portioned. I usually have some to take back home for a small lunch the next day. They have good beers and the service is fast. I have literally been able to be in and out (sit down dining) within 30 minutes... maybe even 20 minutes. The seating area is close but not too squishy. There are tables that can accommodate larger groups of about 10-12 patrons. One of my favorite foods here is the soda bread appetizer, I get it every time.
Cons: Sometimes the servers are not quite on point, however, they are definitely trying and are always nice. Just might have to ask for silverware.
Conclusion: Casual Irish restaurant that you can either eat quickly at or drink slowly. Everything is reasonably priced in my opinion though some people have said its expensive (obviously I relatively disagree). Periodically there is a band that plays there as well. I have not been there for the nightlife but I definitely hear it when I walk by and its usually lively.
Great for: small groups, groups up to 10-12 people, casual dining, drinking with a few friends, good bar drinking location on Mass Ave
Clifton Gill
This Irish pub was awesome. A great collection of top shelf whiskeys to choose from including some great scotches. Also, the local brew went well with the Guinness for a black and tan.
Jorg Sacul
The place was PACKED on St. Patrick's Day. Still had lightning fast service, and the owners stopped at our table to chat... Not just "how's it going?", but real conversation. Great drinks and tasty food. A real asset to downtown Indy!
John Englert
I would say I like 9IB more than Claddagh. Staff is friendly and we enjoy the patio. Good food and drinks. For sure get a black & tan!
BOB MORGAN
The Guinness was perfect...enjoyed the goat cheese...Shepherd's Pie was blah...Rueben and Corned Beef and Cabbage had a fish taste....still wondering about that...Peter the bartender was great....not sure I would go back...you just cant eat atmosphere....and real Irish soda bread does NOT have raisins
Kelsey Waters
Nothing much to it. Great food, friendly staff, cool cozy pub atmosphere. Look forward to going back
JR
Jason and his staff treat you like family! Highly recommend for any one who needs a casual drink alone, with friends or family. Never a bad experience.
Andy D
It was late and very busy but the staff was great. It seemed they were short staffed but they worked very hard to keep up. The shepherd's pie was one point too. Went great with a breakfast Stout.
Rachel Simmons
Delicious irish bombs & BEST mussels! Stumbled upon it 1x & make special trips now for those 2. even out of season mussels taste great when i have this dish.. i crave them & cant find an equivalent! (Last time we split an app & i just got another for entree!!) The guys always give great service too & even if u have to park a block or so the walk is very nice!
MzScorpio Tyson
Nice spot we stopped by for shots. Looked at the menu they had some nice items will definitely have to check them out
Emily Sledge
My husband and I are frequent customers, especially on Sundays. My husband prefers the Irish breakfast, while I'm a sucker for the Guinness stew, heaping with mashed potatoes. Pure comfort! And of course you can't forget three Irish coffee and a good Irish beer.
Brian Hammett
Great atmosphere with great drinks and food specials. Recommend for all visitors to Massachusetts Avenue in Indianapolis.
Brie Joyce (Sweet Lynxs)
Sat at the bar and enjoyed a full pour (12oz) of Nefarious Nectar by The Tap. Plenty of familiar faces and soccer on the flat screen. Food to go came out in less than 10 minutes. Extremely satisfied.
Colin Sanberg
Was here the other night to see Highland Reign, and will definitely be back.
We had a large group (10 people), and it was a busy night in the bar, but the service was great. Our server was on top of all our food and drink needs despite being pulled every which way. Bonus points to the bartender who saw me in my Blackhawks jersey and made sure I had a tv in view with the game on. Great atmosphere all around, and the band rocked it.
Looking at the menu, I thought the food was a little pricey ($17.95 for the fish & chips), but then I saw the portion sizes. I can't believe I finished the meal.
Typical prices for drinks. Their Nine Brothers Red was a really nice beer. Great flavor and not too heavy. Highly recommend.
Overall, really enjoyed our night here. Will definitely start going here instead of the downtown Claddagh.
Lisa Sliker
Cozy Irish pub and restaurant. Only had appetizers and beer but it was delicious!
Shelly Koch
Food was great, out server was very nice & helpful. Due to it being Sunday evening it wasn't loud. I really enjoyed our dinner & the setting
Erik Sorensen-Braasch
Good food, wonderful staff, fun atmosphere.
We had the Goat Cheese Fritters, Wings with bomb sauce, and smoked salmon platter. Everything was as good or better than we expected!
Ryan Huth
You haven't lived if you haven't been to 9irish. The fish n' chips? Best in Indiana. The Irish margarita? Blow your mind tasty. The People's 9Irish red? Made especially for this place and fantastic at that. The Irish peppercorn steak or the chicken Connemara? They will change your life.
This place is something special: awesome live music (look for Highland Reign!), Great food, chill atmosphere, great food, and great drinks.
I've gone here for first dates, 300th dates, dinner at the bar, birthdays, and work Christmas parties. I've never had a bad experience at this place, and neither will you!
Cheese Burger
Had a nice time it was good to be out socially distance on my bday.. Service was good wings were too. But my card was charged even after the bill whole bill was paid by my friend.😶 …
Brian M
Stopped here before recent Murat concert and as before had great service and good food. I'm not real fond of potato skins, but their stuffed ones are great...Bartender very friendly too...
Christopher Park
Chain Irish Pub, with good pub food. Make sure you get the pub chips as a side, as they're excellent. Plenty of Irish beer on tap, including some interesting combinations of Guinness (my favorite being the Black Fog: Guinness with a drizzle of Chambord liqueur). There's also usually live music.
Ashley Z (AttackOfAsh)
They were out of main dishes when we went and only had appetizers, but it was all still really good. They had good beer, the appetizer was delicious, and the waiter was super nice.
Kevin Fetterman
Great food! Those cheese balls are super delicious!!!!!! One of my friends list her phone and thought it was stolen, the whole staff looked for it but it was in her purse the whole time.
Simon Keightley
Dee is super attentive, had a great time for my first time in Indianapolis!
James Phipps
Excellent food...best Irish food in town. Server was lacking. Multiple times we asked for something and waited so long we had to go ask someone else a 2nd time and it was not busy at the time.
Jamie Tyson
My friends and i was day drinking and walked in to get shots. Nice bar the menu looked yummy.

Elda Jameson
GREAT pub atmosphere, very well-themed with lots of attention to detail in the decor, which I loved! Small menu, but food is good.
Desarae
First time there. Not a bad environment for a Friday night. A little crowded at first but it died down. Went right after work so I got there about midnight. I gave it a 4 star bcuz I was disappointed their kitchen was closed. All I wanted was a Ruben. 😏 …
Brittany
A favorite while I was attending Purdue. Jerry and Jan have done just as good a job creating the same environment here in Indy. Great good and great service. You certainly won't go home hungry (most people order half portions).
Travis Le (Skytl)
Went at night, about 9pm. Crowded but the sign said to seat ourselves. Server quickly followed after. We got drinks quickly and server was very knowledgable. Food came fast.
Rachele Poynter
Ran in really fast to catch a drink to wait on dinner. We loved it so much from the 10 minutes we were there, we will be back soon! Delicious beer!

Ashley Honeycutt
This place was super cool! I want to go again! Good "Irish" food served by kilted waiters, full bar, and live music.
robert clayborn
By far the best true Irish place in Indy. Both Lafayette and indianapolis locations are dynamite for true Irish beer and food.
Lyndsey LeCureux
Nice design and menu. I had a shot called an Irish breakfast. Tasted like pancakes, oddly. The actual Irish breakfast served is also delicious.
Alex Rittenhouse
Came here with a group and got the breakfast shot. Plenty of room for groups and clean restrooms. Service was nice and quick with the orders.
James Roberts
Very chill Irish bar. We were their on a Monday night so...not super busy, but really friendly server, tasty food, and of course...Great Beer.

The beer is good bartender is fantastic. But bathroom smells like mold...like very moldy.... Super moldy... Like so damn moldy.... But it is a fantastic place. Fish and chips are money.
Thomas “Ben” Cockrum
Great Irish menu with great Irish food and Irish beer. Had live music with Irish playing musicians hosting. Authentic Irish decor added to the atmosphere. Loved it!
Michael Riley
Food was great the atmosphere was great. And the beer delicious
Amanda Myers
I'm really not impressed with the lack of authentic Irish fare in Indianapolis. This food tastes good. It's prepared right. *Sigh* The irish breakfast though....... Really? It's so pretensious and it's not even irish. Where's the beans? Where's the potato bread? Where's the little tomato lightly grilled on the side? I guess for now I will be making breakfast on sunday with traditional Irish Breakfast with expensive crap I have to order online. I miss it. Let me know if you ever decide to make a real breakfast. We will be there a few times a month at least.
Curtis Young
Great comfort food and drinks... love their shepherd's pie for lunch! Friendly, genuine and lively staff. Glad they are on Mass Ave. #greatirishpub

Food was excellent and so was the service. Would have been 5 stars if i didn't have to listen to someone's explicit rap music blaring from the kitchen.

Nine Irish brothers. In a van. And then a meteor hit. And they ran as fast as they could. From giant cat-monsters. And then a giant tornado came. And that's when things got knocked into twelfth gear...
A Mexican...armada shows up. With weapons made from to- tomatoes. And you better betch'ur bottom dollar that these two brothers know how to handle business.
In! 'Alien...Invasion Tomato Monster Mexican Armada Brothers...Who Are Just Regular Brothers Running...in a Van from an...Asteroid and All Sorts of Things: The Movie'.
Hold on! There's more. Old women are comin'! And they're also in the movie and they're gonna come...and cross...attack...these Nine Irish Brothers. But let's get back to the brothers because they're- they have a strong bond! You don't wanna know about it here, but I'll tell you one thing.
The Moon. It comes crashing into Earth! And whaddya do then? It's Nine Irish Brothers and I- and...and they're gonna...it's called Nine Irish Brothers' ...Nine Irish Brothers'...it's just called Nine Irish Brothers!
Megan C.
