This is a great family owned burger joint. It's got a uniquely Tex Mex menu and overall feel. The burgers and burritos are on point. If you enjoy potato skins on your fries, the house fries are going to please you. If you are swinging for fast food off the corporate beaten path, you're not going to get a whole lot better than House of Fries.

Before I came here, I googled the place and looked at photos of the food. It had my mouth watering. When I ordered the Buffalo chicken loaded fries...... it did not disappoint. It was everything I imagined and more. I went in with a group of people and had the luxury of trying a little bit of everything. Nothing negative to say.

In the everyday hustle of living in Houston during the hot Summer months, a sanctuary on Antoine awaits you. Here at The House of Fries, the French Fries reign supreme.. No longer seen as a side dish but an entrée like no other. They offer a variety to choose from but I feel in love with the BBQ Brisket Loaded Fries. However, they also serve breakfast, hamburgers and milk shakes which I plan to partake in my next visit. Come hunger or bring a friend because the portions are generous.

This place definitely has a lot of options with fries and toppings. The sandwiches are good but nothing crazy big, I put a fork for size comparison. Prices are fair for what you get. I would recommend if your taking it to go.. ask them to separate the fries and toppings, the time you get home all the steam makes it soggy but it was still delicious!

Wow wow wow! I found my new soot for a breakfast taco! They also have burritos. Reasonable prices. Very flavorful and large portion especially the burritos. The food was home made, the salsa was very good. Not too spicy but has a good bite.

Stopped by today after work, first time. Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had in this city! The fries were really good as well. Usually I have to add extra condiments to my burgers but not this one, it was perfect. The young woman working the drive through today was absolutely precious, someone give her a raise because if she hadn't been so sweet and asked if I was going to order, I would have left because I thought it was too late to order (I got there after 6:30 and they close at 7pm fyi). Highly recommend this place, y'all need to go eat this food if you haven't yet!

We absolutely love this family owned joint. We moved away last year and still travel 20 minutes to come for lunch. The best spicy Philly cheesesteaks, Cajun ketchup, battered fries, and I get a milkshake! The service is always friendly. 10/10

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall gems that offer great good in somewhat shabby (but clean) surroundings. My favorite thing here are the hamburgers, which are prepared smashburger style. They are really good. I don't care for loaded fries, but if you do, you will find a good variety of these, including the classic chili-cheese version. It's a neighborhood favorite, so you may need to wait several minutes to get your order, but you will be in burger and fry heaven when you do!

This joint is pretty good. Service is great and they bring your food out to you. The ABC burger is one of the best I had and my go to when I'm going for lunch. They also have loaded fries with choice of toppings. I normally go with the chili cheese fries or tots but they have a variety. This place is a must try when in the area or when you want something that's not McDonald's or Burger King which is horrible. Oh and the salads are great too.

The service and staff took this place to the next level. The burgers and fries were great. I had the avocado black bean burger, my partner had the ABC burger, and we got the seasoned fries. The fries were perfectly done. Crispy, hot, and fresh, and a great seasoning. The black bean burger patty kind of fell apart a bit, but it was delicious and there were whole black beans in it. Both burgers did not skimp on the avocado! But what was truly impressive was the service. All employees smiled, made conversation, and ensured we had everything we needed without having us get up to get it. The prices will fit any budget, too. If you're in this area and even thinking about a burger from anywhere else, you're doing yourself a disservice. Do yourself a favor: skip those other burger joints for House of Fries!

Sometimes you just need an authentic burger joint to kick to weekend off. The exterior is a 50's throwback before burger chains dominated fast food. Friendly staff with a real family vibe make this a comforting quick meal. The social distancing measures make it more apparent how much they respect your well-being. The star of course are the fresh burgers and loaded fries. I plowed through mine. No stopping me. Even got a second burger to go for dinner.

Really good burgers! Not to mention a large variety of fries. The cheese burger was one of the best I've had. The house fries l got were crisp on the outside and tender inside. They have lots of dipping sauces and I tried the chipotle mayo that tasted great on the fries. I recommend House of Fries!

Pretty good burger. The gentleman at the counter was very helpful in guiding me through the menu which, with all of the different types of fries, gets a little complex. My burger was great and the spicy ketchup was good as well. My cheeseburger combo was a little over $8 so not bad. Give it a try! Update: 10/9/2019: I've had lunch several times since my initial review and they always serve fresh hot burgers. Try the batter fries. They are crispy and tasty. I've brought several coworker's and so far everyone loves it. A little off the beaten path and in an area that's a little seedy but definitely worth it.

Yasssss! I found this place by accident and the rest is history. They have everything you can think of when it comes to fry toppings. From loaded baked potato (my favorite), to bbq, chicken fajita, and so much more and they don't skimp on the toppings. Everything is loaded with flavor. They also let you choose the type of fries you put with your order which I love even more. Now they also have delicious burgers like the ABC, which is the avacado, bacon cheese Burger which is to die for. The customer service is amazing and they make you fell comfortable. They also have a drive thru which is doing wonders for my thunder thighs as you don't have to walk to get your food. But overall its a little dive that you must must must try. Trust and belive you won't regret it.!

Fairly great bacon and cheese burger combo! Buns came toasted on both sides, bacon and cheese was perfect. I’m going to try out one of the mix burgers next time i go back in a few weeks. I asked for the curly fries with the chipotle mayonnaise dip. The fries came out awesome, crispy and hot! They are good with ketchup too. Go, maybe worth the drive if it’s a bit out of the way for you.

I've tried a few things from HoF and they've all been fantastic. I tried the chicken fajita loaded fries last time. The cheese almost overpowers the fajita fixings but I couldn't help but devour this meal. This place is a must try and I will return!

All I have to say is "BEEF NACHO FRIES!!" I haven't tried anything on their menu I haven't liked. Everything is made fresh to order with fresh ingredients and you simply can't beat their prices for quality and quantity of food. You can customize your food any way you want. It's a family owned restaurant. The father is the manager and his daughter works the register. They're really nice and courteous. Highly recommended and don't let the location and exterior fool you or discourage you from trying it out. Oh, and you get a free cookie on Fryday with your order!

The spicy ketchup, I thought would be regular ketchup with a lil Cayenne...omg was I wrong. My meal was everything and more. My husband got the double meat burger, he is sleep with not even a (waffle)fry left. We will be going back real soon to try out the rest of the menu

This place is amazing!!!!! My fiance and i just moved in march. We found HoF around the corner from home and decided to try it... Everything on menu is $8 or LESS!!! We spent about $20 for BOTH of us! And everything is DELICIOUS!!!!! The staff is friendly and front of house is kept very clean. This place has great food and service, the hours are just a bit confusing. Right now the drive thru is open from 9-7 but indoor dining is 10-4 I believe. Bit of a shame, it's got an excellent local diner feel but it's hard for me to get there in those hours.

But they do have a veggie burger and avocado Burger and a turkey burger. My only issue with this place was the fries were so greasy. But all in all it was great experience. The three stars are for the customer service, not the food. I wanted the Brisket fries but they were out of brisket. I settled for the fajita fries with shredded cheddar that showed up not melted and skimpy on the onions and bell peppers. The people here are very nice and they everyone else I dined with loved their food! Give it a try. For the price you can’t go wrong.

Some of the best loaded fries I've had. I tried the loaded chicken bacon ranch fries and they were made in a matter of minutes. Fries were hot and fresh. My girlfriend had the bbq brisket fries and those were also very good. Can't wait to try it out again and get some burgers next time. Friendly staff and clean environment. Worth trying if you're nearby.

Delicious burgers, fantastic fries, and Cajun ketchup that beats Whataburger spicy ketchup for flavor. Really friendly staff. The only thing that isn't great are the limited hours and the speed of service. This isn't a quick drive-thru burger, but if you know that going in then it's worth the wait.

The service was great. The staff was helpful and friendly. But the food was mediocre at beat. Got the ABC Burger and the Loaded Baked Potato Fries. Both were pretty bland. The cheese on the fries tasted like it came out of a can and the fries themselves were almost soggy. And for $7 the serving of fries easily fit in one of those thick paper hot dog holders. And the burger was $6 by itself. Definitely $13 i wish I'd spent elsewhere.

I absolutely love this place! The employees and owner are very kind so that’s a big help! I’ve been here multiple times and the food always comes out fresh, hot, and delicious. I don’t have to worry about hearing anyone call my order either since the employees take the food to the table that ordered it and have a very good memory. I tend to be a cheapskate so I can adamantly say the prices are very good here as well. I’m glad I found out about this place and am hopeful that they will continue to be around for a long while.

My food was so good! I had a spicy Philly cheesesteak, seasoned battered fries, and spicy ketchup. I usually only eat spicy ketchup from Whataburger, but I'm so glad I went out on a limb and tried these. So good! I will definitely return the next chance I get. Also, the place is an older building, but everything seemed to be in order. I had no complaints. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is good and the prices are even better. After leaving the best burger joint in my tri-county area, I worked for a respectable burger chain. Since then I have been on a personal endeavor to find the best burger joint in all of Houston. Today, I feel my search has come to an end. Houston (and surrounding cities) have a lot of options when it comes to getting a burger, albeit some are better than others. Even if I'm eating at a nice restaurant, I'll order a burger. It is a staple here in Texas and almost impossible to mess up - almost. At House of Fries I am confident of the consistency. The way staff treats customers reflects their pride in delivering a world-class customer experience. From the food to the atmosphere, House of Fries put an end to my decades search for the best burger in Houston.

Everything I've tried is really good. All the burgers are delicious. The chicken sandwich is equally good. The hot dogs come two to an order and when topped with chili and cheese are on point. Every one of their fry choices and dipping sauces are delicious as well as fun and interesting, and the various loaded fries options are all great. Apparently they'll even give free drinks to homeless people!

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants. Think I've had just about everything on the menu at least once, and it's all delicious. Potions are extremely hefty, and a great value. The fries & sauces really compliment the burgers. I'll definitely drive past all the "Chain" places just to get here!

The food is great. The cheese steaks are on point. Variety of different types of fries regular, courtly, waffle, tots and sweet potato. Burgers are fantastic. Haven't had their breakfast yet but it looks good. Only downfall is they close at 4pm.

Wow, this place rocks. Great tasting, burgers. Very inventive "Burger of the Month". The shakes are wonderful. Oh, the fries! Four different styles and all the toppings you will want. A meal unto themselves. I have eaten at some of the "trendy" burger joints and spent a fortune on the same good I can get here for a whole lot less with a whole lot more flavor. Skip the"trendy" and come visit the real deal.

The house fries are made in house like the name suggests and a must try for French fry purists, just know that they come with house seasoning rather than just salt.

My boyfriend and I saw the reviews from others since we were in the area. Very glad we stopped by! The fries are well beyond any others we've ever had. The cheeseburger I had was delicious and my boyfriend said his cheese steak was great and had a lot more cheese than he was expecting! The only complaint was when we were leaving the trash can was extremely full and my boyfriend (a clean freak) got food all over his hands trying to throw the trash away.

We were looking for that back in the day "hole in wall" spot that served good burgers at a reasonable price. For my first visit, I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. I had a craving for a burger in my area and found House of Fries on Yelp. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and guided me through the menu. I was surprised to see the several types of fries they had to offer. They also offered dipping sauces for your fries. I went the conservative route by going with a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and honey mustard for the dipping sauce. I made a wise choice. My food was great. I cannot believe how many times that I have driven past this place since its' 2011 opening and I have never even noticed it. Later, I tried a strawberry shake, and it was OK. The only negatives that I found was that their location is not the greatest and they are only open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Saturday.

Great local joint, courteous folks, excellent selection - had the bacon avocado burger - ELATED when it came out medium, so many places cook the burger down to carpet. All the ingredients were fresh, and balanced - not skimpy on the avo, thank you! Lots of fry options, I took the regular, and they were ok. Will be back to try the waffle fries, too. My buddy did the chili-cheese, and he loved them! A meal by themselves.

The service was great too; a nice-friendly girl took my order. I will be returning to try their chilli cheese fries. I wanted to try different fry toppings because they all sounded good. Would've preferred to have: half chilli cheese fries and half bacon scallion topped fries. I just wish that they could do half-and-half topped fries; how cool would that be?

Best burger in NW Houston by FAR! After visiting a second time, and getting their signature avocado bacon burger (plus a Philly Cheesesteak for later), I'm convinced that this family-owned gem is the very best this area has to offer. Drive thru left me wanting nothing when I reached my destination. Napkins, condiments, all the trimmings; everything was there neatly packaged and still hot enough to make me feel like it was right off the grill. We had 3 combos, mushroom burger with house fries, bacon cheeseburger with recommended battered fries and chipotle mayo dip, and cheeseburger with jalapeño cheese fries. $29. All burgers were served medium well (we did not specify), and were delicious. The fries were excellent, as advertised. We all saw a few things on the menu we want to try next time.

If you are looking for a place to go during thise pandemic without having to be concerned if its clean come here. Plastic dividers between all the tables, hand sanitizer pumps all throughout the restraunt. Also have a wheeling tray the push to your table so they dont evem touch the box. I was there maybe an hour and saw them changing their gloves and wiping down periodically. Great food, great people and great clean service. What else could you ask for!

Just like the name says. It is all about the fries here. While the burgers are good the star is the potato. We had ordered three different styles. House fries, sweet potato, and battered fries. Of the 3 battered are the best super crisp on the outside, fluffy and light on the inside with just enough spice that they can be eaten alone. However the Chipotle mayo dipping sauce is a damn good option. As far as toppings the Philly cheese was delicious and didn't lack on the cheese sauce. Also the chicken bacon ranch was loaded full with what suspect was an in-house ranch. Definitely lives up to the name.

Wow.... this hole in the wall is absolutely delicious. I ordered online, and got a bacon cheeseburger (added grilled onions, jalapenos, and avocados), philly cheese fries and a drink for $14 after tax! Make sure to get the cajun ketchup.. it had just the right amount of spice to take my burger and fries to the next level. The burger itself is a 4/5, but the fries definitely were the star of the show. You can easily make this a meal in itself. I opted to get the combo and upgrade my fries. I was in and out (no pun intended, In-n-Out sux) of this restaurant within 15 minutes. I will probably add this to my normal lunch (Closes at 4pm) rotation since it's super convenient. Originally, I was going to give this place 4 stars due to it's area (a homeless man approached me as I was leaving) and the building being slightly run down, but later decided that this definitely adds to the entire experience. I much rather eat at a place like this, than at a clean place like smashburger, etc. All in all, for the price and deliciousness, this place is bomb.

Excellent experience. My husband and I each got a combo (burger, fries, drink, dipping sauce), it came to less than $16. We each got a bacon cheeseburger with some customization. The manager was very nice about our modifications and we got just what we ordered. The burgers were huge, well cooked (we have a food handler permit), and the toppings perfect. The brix on the diet soda was excellent. Fries perfection. I love a good curly fry - these are better than Arby's. My husband ate his entire helping of battered fries in about 2 minutes, and he only has one good hand! The honey mustard sauce is delectable. We had a long wait due to Metrolift (both of us disabled, his apparent, mine not). Again, the manager was very nice and friendly. We met 3 employees besides the manager, they were all very kind/friendly/helpful. We are definitely going back and telling all the Metrolift drivers about it too. My husband is a manual wheelchair user and it's accessible for manual chairs only due to some tight cornering. Bathroom is accessible but a little tight in the hall. They have a drive thru, also. Oatmeal raisin cookies appear to be homemade - large and delicious. The manager told me they give one free with each combo on Fridays. :)
