Amazing spot for lunch or dinner! The steak is perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. It comes with white rice, spring salad, and a sweet/salty steak sauce. The line is always really long, but it is totally worth the wait. You’ve got to try this place!

A classic. The steak is juicy and fresh, I prefer medium rare with no salad option, but you've got ranch, thousand island and Italian. They also include a small container of sauce for the steak and rice. It's a sweet and savory, great tasting sauce. The steak is also well seasoned, has a nice slight peppery taste, and was tender. Will always come here and have drinks at the bar right near by and watch the sunset.

This is by far some of the best Hawaiian style steak and chicken I have tasted, they are not shy about seasoning. This is a hidden gem that everyone should try. There is not an extensive menu with only steak or chicken on the menu but they do it very well…the price was not bad…a combo plate and water is about $20 and yet get enough food to be full…it was so nice we ate it twice!

We tried the chicken and steak both. They had great flavor. Chicken was my favorite with taste and tenderness. Steak had great flavor but a bit on chewy side than we prefer. Salad was ok as it's just from a store container.

Steak shack is one of my favourite lunch/dinner spots to take to the beach. The regular steak plate (6oz) is the perfect size for one person and comes with rice and salad with the choice of ranch, Italian, or thousand island dressing. My steak was slightly over cooked to my medium rare preference but it was well seasoned and still very tender. Not chewy or tough at all! It's a busy place so be prepared to wait - but the food is worth it. I went at noon and waited about 20 minutes for my order.

Hawaiian style steak, grilled the way you like- which was medium. It was tender and juicy served piping hot, with rice and salad. FYI- bring your patience especially if you come close to closing time. Well worth the wait.

Amazing perfectly cooked steak on a bed of rice with a side salad. It's located right on Duke's beach and is our new go to place for a quick beach lunch. Sometimes you think a place might be a gimmick but this place is worth every penny and is on par with full restaurants.

Very good steak for a good price in Waikiki. To have a fulfilling dinner while watching the sunset is quite an experience. Service was fast and the salad tasted great. I recommend buying your steak just before the sunset, that way you skip the crowds. Also, it gets packed and run out of chicken after 6.

The service was quick and easy, and the food… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The steak was perfectly cooked medium as requested, and the sesame soy sauce that comes with really takes it to the next level. The outdoor seating is a great way to enjoy the ocean view; only recommendation is don’t go on a windy day if you plan on sitting outside as it can kick some sand up. Overall a great experience, and have since gone back twice!

Good if you're at the beach and want some decent steak. Expect a long wait at certain times. Seemed like all the meats were cooked the same - rare = medium = well done... same same. Worth trying.

Hole in the wall place but don’t let it fool you. The beef was out of this world, buy the chicken was sold out. Went back for the second time for the steak and chicken, unfortunately the chicken was sold out again. End up getting the steak again and it was delicious. Asked about the chicken selling out and I was notified to get their before 5:00 pm dinner rush. In 3 days we went there twice that because they food was delicious and the cost was very reasonable less than $20. Highly recommended +++++ out of +++++

This take out restaurant is on the waters edge and offers mainly steak or chicken with rice and salad. I had the steak and chicken combo and there was a lot to eat. Very good value. Great service. Great experience.

I was skeptical about the meat being grisly or fatty. The meat was not at all! The peppery seasoning along with the teriyaki sauce was a superb. Meal comes in different weights of meat so that you can customize the portion to your level of hungry. I got the 10 oz portion and it was enough to fill me up. Would highly recommend this spot if your in the Hitlon Hawaiian Beach resort in Waikiki. Also a great place to catch a sunset picture!

It’s 6:30 on a Saturday night and the place was packed with people waiting for their food. I figured it must be good and since it was right on the beach gave it a go. Bang for the buck it was awesome and well worth the wait. Tender, well seasoned steak cooked to order with rice and side green for well under $15. Can’t beat it.

I’ve been in Honolulu for 5 days now and I have ate at the Steak Shack 3 times for either lunch or dinner. The “fancy” places I’ve been have lacked flavor plus cost $$$$ and other’s have just not been impressive. The chicken plate is my favorite but you can’t go wrong with steak either. Cooked very well and packed with flavor. I’m positive I’ll just eat here the remainder of my trip. A good amount of chicken over rice and a side salad for a little over 10 bucks! See you tomorrow!

Food - 4/5, value bumps my review to 5/5. Steak is not exactly cooked to medium rare but it’s in chunks so it’s tender regardless. The bbq sauce is delicious, try mixing it with the salad and the rice. The rice is delicious too. For this price, the amount of food and value is amazing. Reco: get medium rare.

Got the 10oz steak plate. Comes with rice and salad. Around $17. Enough for 2 people. Very tasty. At dinner time it gets busy with long waits so recommended more for lunch

Steak was heavily seasoned so tasted a bit salty. Ordered medium and was closer to well done. Portion size is great for the price of each plate. Loved mixing in some chicken with the greens. Staff was super nice. The waiting area was crowded and I felt in the way of the other shops/stands.

Overall not bad, but the steak was a bit tough when requested to be cooked at medium, I suspect it’s due to the quality of beef. Didn’t seem to be “top quality” steak, more like stew meat(?). BUT, if at the beach in the area and looking for lunch, this place is worth a try.

So delicious!! The steak was very flavorful, the rice it’s served on was moist, not sticky. The Teriyaki sauce they give with it is amazing. Nice little salad on the side. Nice portion size for the money. Usually a wait, because they are always busy, but so worth the wait. Right on the beach. We drive 30 mins just to eat there. Then watch the sunset.

Tucked away at a small corner on the ground floor but facing the sea. Your nose can literally follow the smell and find it! Had the standard offering. Was not disappointed. Quite ok portions for the price. Meat was well charred and tasty. Vege was fresh and it was nice that the dressing wasnt dumped in. Awesome location just by the sandy beach

I completely love this place i found it on a review on you tube and it didnt not disappoint at all every time i am in Hawaii i at least come eat here 2-3 times it will fill you up and not weight so heavy on you like other food places you have some awesome views to enjoy while you eat and the best shaved ice right next door highly recommended for everyone to come and try my favorite is the chicken but the steak will not disappoint

The steak was very well cooked, we ordered medium rare and it was perfect. I definitely recommend adding the sauce they provide for the steak for an extra kick of flavor. Quick tip - if you're eating with another person you can get the 12 oz steak and split it, the amount of rice and salad is enough for two.

We love great food. Especially when it’s simple and affordable. Steak Shack is delicious and great bang for your buck while in Waikiki! We went back several times during our two week trip. It can get busy and have a long wait but it’s certainly worth it. 5 stars!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! There was a line out to the beach, so we're not the only ones who came to see what the hype was about. We waited 30ish min for our food after ordering, but man. Was it ever worth it. Steak was perfectly cooked. Ample portions. Great prices. Would highly recommend!

Despite long wait times, food was amazing! I got the steak medium rare, it was very tender and tasteful as you would expect from a medium rare. Rice was perfect texture, and the sweet and salty sauce made everything come together perfectly!

Was a great experience. Chicken here is amazing, better than the steak imo ( but Chicken Shack doesn't roll off the tongue as easily). The staff was quick. Sauces and salad/rice really round out the meal so you don't feel like you just had a lump of delicious meat. Would go back, especially if I was posted up on the beach in the area.

I've heard people rave about this place so I had to try it. Depending on where you're staying, it can be out of the way. We had to find parking and then walk to it which is no big deal, but walking from my hotel would've been a 25 minute walk. The food was very good. I forgot what the ounces are, I think its 6oz (could be 8oz) 10oz or 12oz are the options. We got the 10oz one and it was for sure too much food for me. Stick with the 6/8 oz plate unless you're starving!

I ordered for take out right after lunch elsewhere because this place was recommended, and I wanted to just see what it's about. I did end up having an unintended second lunch. It doesn't necessarily look pretty, but once you dig in you end up eating it all. Person at the counter was really friendly. Only reason for not giving it full score is the person cooking/handing out the boxes had attitude. I usually don't mind and understand they're really busy, but they just rubbed the wrong way for me to be petty about it.

Such an incredible place to get a quick bite to eat! I got the combo platter. I was definitely pleased with the generous helpings of steak, chicken, rice, and salad. Prices are not too high for Hawaii. The service was friendly and fast. Food was out in a manner of minutes. Would definitely recommend this place. I'll be coming back anytime I'm in town!

Delicious and worth the wait. By the time we arrived they were out of chicken. The steak was nicely seasoned and flavorful. Despite the long line, staff was pleasant and efficient. We visited a second time and I tried the chicken plate. It was delicious also. If I had to choose a favorite, I'd go with the steak. It has such a wonderful flavor.

It’s a hidden gem of Waikiki beach eateries. Both the steak and chicken plates are delicious, but the chicken is extra special. Great value for the price, and the regular size portion 6 ounce was very filling.

And it's just tiny tables outside & way too many people. The Açai bowl place next to the steak shack was amazing also and offers authentic northern Brazil style Açai bowls. .

The best Chicken & Steak dinner ever. The sauce they make is the best. We visited from Ohio. I have not tasted anything like this before. So far the best meal I've had in Oahu . I got a steak plate medium rare season very well and cooked to perfection. They also have a combination plate of chicken and steak, it comes with rice and salad. Be aware that they do not have any silverware like fork spoons or knives they do have chopsticks that you can have.

Long overdue review. Was there in 2018 during the time of Hurricane Lane. This was one of the few places still open to serve us hungry tourists when everyone else stayed shut. Loved the food and very friendly and welcoming service. Went back for seconds before we left. Portion was also generous.

Got the 10oz steak plate, medium rare, with ranch for the salad. Steak was well seasoned but could’ve been more tender. Get a little rice, steak, salad and ranch on your fork and it’s a great bite! Huge plate of food, enough for 2 people if you’re not starving. We grabbed a couple of beers from the souvenir shop next door to wash everything down. Lots of seating along the side. Excellent location, right on the beach. It’s not the best steak you’ll ever have, but it’s pretty good for the fact that it’s coming out of, literally, a tiny shack. Great value for this area and always awesome to support local businesses!

Tucked away behind Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort & the Hawaii Army Museum we found this awesome food shack. Great smells, hot food and ready to eat really quickly. Went for the chicken. Just loved it. Ample portion size with salad.

The food was fantastic, and we got to order and eat right on the beach! Be prepared to wait awhile, they are quite popular and make everything to order, but we went for a walk down the beach while we waited! The food was worth it!!

Good value. I had the chicken and steak combo for 13.75 (no drink). The steak pieces tasted a little better to me than the chicken, but the chicken was still OK. Next time I'd get all steak :) Both were cut into pieces so you don't have to try and cut them with a plastic fork. Outside seating only with an ocean view as shown.

Great food right on the water. Just a stand up shack with a few tables. Only drinks are canned coke, diet coke, sprite, which is pretty typical even in some restaurants here.

SO FRESH AND TASTY! great location on the beach. Chose the all salad option instead of half rice and half salad. You can choose between beef $8.25, chicken $7.75 or both $13. Loved it and would definitely recommend and come again!

Stayed at Walkiki Shore. The Steak Shack is on the first floor, just a few steps from the beach. Ordered lunch and ate on the beach. There are tables nearby as well. They only took about 5 minutes to prepare the meal...and it included a salad. The chicken on rice was excellent and more than enough for one person. Lunch with left overs for just over 10 bucks.

Gone to steak shack every year, great food but portion sizes for rice and salad have gone down the past couple years. Also disappointed that they now charge extra for extra sauce, as they used to give it for free. Still love eating there, just wish portions and sauce was the same as before.

Small place 3 steps off the beach. Take out window with a few outside tables and chairs. Steak and chicken plates come with rice and salad w/choice off ranch, Italian or thousand island. Very tasty!!! Ate and watched the sunset, amazing! The chicken is yummy as well. Highly recommend this place!

Omg awesome absolutely loved it great price and super good went twice today early in the afternoon not too bad of a wait qnd later at around 6:30 had to wait like 25 minutes but diffanitely worth the wait and it was literally 25 minutes on the dot! An absolute gem in Waikiki. Steak Shack is incredible in every way it had a percect trifecta with the 1st being... Service is friendly on point and quick, 2nd the atmosphere, its right on the beach how much better of an atmosphere can you get, and 3rd the star of the show the amazing food. So you're out all morning paddling your little heart out, catching as many waves as you can, or maybe you're playing beach volleyball for a few hours, or just out walking and stopping at all the sites Waikiki has to offer...you get hungry, but you want to eat a good clean healthy meal that'll give you the nutrients your body needs to go out and do it all over again. If this is you. Steak Shack is the place for you. My personal favorite is the 12 Oz steak plate done medium rare with sushi rice, salad, and the sides of teriyaki and island dressing. The flavor of the steak is top-notch, and if you dip a little in the teriyaki, it goes bonkers on your taste buds. Sushi rice is perfectly on point. Salad is an added bonus. Living in Hawaii on Oahu, I could eat Steak Shack for lunch and Sato Seafood for dinner every single day and never tire of it. A big Mahalo to the ohana at the Shack can't wait to come back and enjoy the plate lunch after a morning in the surf.

Quick, easy and delicious. We walked by and had to stop because of the smell! Make sure to ask for your steak medium! No real dine-in, but there are a couple tables on the patio looking out on the beach. We paired our steak with an acai bowl from next door and it was delicious!

I’ve been in the Waikiki area for two weeks now and have made it a mission to try as many places in the area that I could before leaving. Of all the places, very few had a decent amount of food (and good flavor) for the price paid. This place was one of those and did not disappoint! I got the combo plate (chicken and steak) which I highly recommend so you can have both. It’s also right on the beach so the location is very convenient.

After several days in Waikiki. This has become my go to place. They are the best bang for your buck in Waikiki. This place doesn't have that many things on the menu, but what they do have is done to perfection. They serve either/or grilled steak and chicken on a bed of rice with a side salad. This might not sound exciting, but the seasoning on the food is on point and grilled with a perfect char. By placing the meat on the rice, it is able to absorb all the wonderful meat flavors, just enhancing it that much more. The greens are a typical spring mix and come with a side of dressing. The price per person can vary but for under $20 you can feed even the hungriest NFL player or a couple of people. The staff are also very friendly and are more than happy to make recommendations. The views from here are world class, and there is even covered seating nearby. Overall this is must try if you are visiting Waikiki.

Absolutely a must eat place while at Waikiki Beach. The price is definitely worth the amount of food you will get here. If you get here while they're busy which is pretty much all the time you'll have about a 20 to 30 minute wait for your order but it is worth every minute. I love the steak because it is so tender and full of flavor. Despite the wait your food comes out hot. All plates come with rice and a side salad. They give you a sauce but the steak is so full of flavor by itself I used it for my rice. We had to make one last stop here before we left and a week later we're missing this food. The staff is super friendly despite being constantly busy. There is limited seating but you can always sit on the beach.

This was the best experience I have had since I've been here. It is located directly on the beach. We ate while watching the most amazing sunset, an experience I won't soon forget. The prices you pay for this ocean view is insanely cheap, and it's AMAZING!!! It's quite possibly the best steak I've ever had. Cooked to perfection on a bed of rice and a salad on the side. I wish I could take some of that delicious sauce home with me. Highly recommend this place

Amazing!! After living on the island for a couple of years I did not spend much time in Waikiki but this is a hidden gem for sure! This is located close to most of the Waikiki hotels on the North/West side and just a short walk from the main strip. The food is reasonably priced for the mainland and exceptionally cheaper than most of the restaurants around it. The food does not taste cheap and was some of the best steak I had on the island. If you are planning on going I would make sure you go at least an hour before they close. We went and the wait for food was around 45 minutes. The food was well worth the wait. I had the 6 oz stake which comes with rice and a salad. I was decently full at the end of the meal and for less than $20 you cant beat it in Waikiki, its a must visit!

The location is great, they are right by the beach. You can easily just come up from the water and grab something. Thing is because of that the queue is very long and they might not even have the capacity to make what you wanted. We waited for around 45 mins and did not get our whole order because things ran out. Some of us had to run to get pizza instead. The food itself was alright. The steak was a bit over cooked for me. In summary I'd say not over the top but an easy choice if no queue.

Also, they actually give you a decent amount of “greens” compared to most where you just get a leaf. The chicken plate was my go-to! What really pulls this place up to being worth a visit is by far the staff first being so charismatic and the hours coming in second. This is the perfect spot when you just want something to eat and not pay a ridiculous amount. It’s a take away spot. Don’t forget to add the sauce and soy to your plate before you leave. My favorite thing to do is get a plate and make it a beach picnic. A park is Nextdoor if you want a picnic table. Salad, steak(already sliced and seasoned to perfection) and rice is the typical order on a plate. Service is fast.

Ordered the 6oz. Steak plate. It comes with rice and a green salad. The steak was cooked exactly to order and had a very good flavor. I recommend drizzling the teriyaki sauce over your steak and rice. A very good lunch for less than $10! We sat and enjoyed the people watching and beach views.

Steak plates are great! An upgraded version of traditional Hawaiian plate with steak cooked fresh to your liking. Prices are reasonable for Waikiki. Only reason they don't get 5 stars is that they don't accept credit cards. I tried to stop after a long run and I had my room key and a CC, and I had to miss it that night.

Awesome eatery on the beach in Waikiki... We ate here several times during our 12 day stay. My 16 year old son absolutely loves it... would probably eat here all the time if he could. Came here based on reviews and we were not disappointed. One of our best meals in Hawaii and great value too. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The chicken was tender and flavorful. Love the simplicity of salad and rice. I don't think you can get a steak dinner for 3 people for $39 and a view. It's cash only do come prepared. If you park off Kalia Rd walk the path next to the Army museum and look left at the end of the walkway. There's actually a Subway sign hanging next to the Steak Shack. You don't want to miss it!

My husband gets to travel to Hawaii for work a lot and stays in Waikiki. He goes every day for lunch or dinner. I've been to Hawaii twice now and we make it a point to go as much as possible. It's so good so reasonably priced and beautiful views. The steak is the best option. My only wish is I had the marinade recipe so I could make it back home on the East coast when we are not in Hawaii

Very interesting place right on the beachfront of Waikiki Beach. The flavour of the steak was perfect and for 8.75$ it's worth the meal. You get steak done as you like on a bed of rice with mixed greens. This is a perfect lunch for someone who wants a meal to go and the wait time usually isn't long unless you are going during a busy time like lunch on a weekend. I was satisfied with the service and the food was great! One thing I would say is that they only take cash which is something I don't like using while on vacation with limited cash on me already.

Super cheap food but excellent quality. Just straight up steak and meats, with salad on the side. Can walk there with the beach path and a really great option for lunch while around the area. Based on the reviews I read, I was expecting better food. The chicken had good flavor but the steak was a bit tough and bland. It honestly is just ok. I ordered the chicken/steak combo and my portion of meat was less than my son's order of chicken, except mine was $4 more. My advice is stick with one meat and you'll get as much as the combo.

FUN SPOT FOR QUICK LUNCH It's a cool little outdoor snack shop with very tasty grilled steak medallions, salad, and rice served in a styrofoam box to be enjoyed at little bistro tables out on the deck. I read lots of reviews of this place before I came to the island. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find it since its kinda hidden but still located on the beach. My husband and I stayed at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach and it turns out our room was almost directly above this place!! It was a quick 1 minute walk from our room so we had to check it out. My husband had the steak combo and I had the chicken. WOW! It was the best $7.50 we ever spent, especially since food is so expensive in Waikiki. We would get a quick lunch here whenever we hungry and in the area. The food and service was great! Make sure you have cash though! They don't accept cards of any type! Definitely recommend!

I want to give a big shout out to Mr. Joe. I was blessed to be able to visit Hawaii for my birthday, while there I enjoyed sometime at Waikiki Beach. There on the beach is this great carryout named the Steak 🥩 Shack. When I say this place is delicious 😋 trust me it’s delicious. I ordered the combo which includes chicken and steak strips with rice 🍚 and a salad 🥗. Mr. Joe made sure everything was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I was blessed again to be able to spend Christmas 🎄 and the New Year holiday in Hawaii, I made sure to visit my favorite restaurant/carryout when I arrived and on my last day there. Mr. Joe and staff are just awesome. If you are ever in Honolulu Hawaii please do yourself a favor and go to the Steak Shack on Waikiki Beach.

Pretty much the greatest food shack on Oahu! I could eat here for lunch all week. It’s basically a tiny food stall that serves a go box with rice, chopped steak, and salad in it. The steak is always very juicy and perfectly cooked. There is an ATM to get cash or purchase a drink in the tourist shack behind the Steak Shack.

Well, it's quite literally a shack attached to the hotel. They serve a pretty standard local steak plate with tossed greens and rice. The steak is bbqed and seasoned well. The chicken was tender and tasty. There is a small amount of seats along the railing or you can walk down to one of the tables along the beach. Be warned, its cash only. Theres an atm in the gift shop in the hall to the right of the shack.
