Fresh, fast and most of all very yummy! Large dishes at a great low price. Line was out the door, down the stairs and along the footpath- but moved quickly and worth the short wait.

Went there on a Wednesday around 7pm and line was out the door but we only ended up waiting about 20 min total to order and 5 min for food after that.
The caeser salad was pretty good but not amazing. We got the fresh fish plates both blackened and the fish was amazing. The potatoes in both forms were spot on. The french fries were top notch and very similar to the ones of some national chain with arches. The home potatoes were excellent as well. The cajun rice was alright, nothing special in my opinion. The coleslaw that comes with the plates wasn't something I preferred.
In summary I would definitely come back again and this place has excellent food overall.

This place was great! When we showed up there was a very long line, but honestly, the staff handled it very well, and quickly! We waited about 20 min until they let us in to order. The cashier was very quick taking our order and we had our food out in about 10 minutes. My wife and I, both ordered Mahi and Cajun rice with a drink. The food came out tasting very delicious and was very high quality! I think out of all the places I tried in Waikiki, this one tops it for their quality seafood! Very affordable compared to other places as well! Highly recommended!

The Paia fish market is one of my favorite places to eat in Oahu. They have an enormous variety of fish and dishes. The portions are very fair for the price and the food is very good!
Its a popular place and its well deserved. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the varieties of fishes served there. A small bar has drinks and we have always been satisfied leaving this restaurant. We visit every year we come to Hawaii.

Ate twice in two days it is that good! Dinner with seared ahi, home fries, and a robust cabbage slaw rounded out the dinner. Hot off the grill/broiler made the dishes unbelievably good. And a dinner salad that was brilliant! Came back the next day for a grilled fish burger. They nailed ever tasty morsel of food. Friendly staff too!

This was the best and most delicious fish I had in Hawaii. One of the few places to eat I went to more than once.
Everything looked and tasted fresh. The queue can get lengthy at times but there's plenty of tables inside to eat.
Huge variety of fish and fish dishes available. Definitely make sure to visit during your trip.
Would go back in a heartbeat

When we arrived their was a short line to place our order but it moved quickly. Staff was very friendly and helped with suggestions. We got the fried calamari and it was totally different from the states instead of the tentacles and rings you got long well seasoned straps. She got the fish and chips and she enjoyed it. I got the fish tacos and they were excellent

Small venue that fills up fast and line’s right out the door. But totally worth it. Service was fast with knowledgeable staff. Fish can be seasoned and cook in a variety of ways leaving you with a ton of choices! My Ahi was medium rare and blackened just as I ordered, tasting the natural flavor of the fish combined with the blackened spices. Even the coleslaw was delicious!

Food here was very delicious and was fairly well priced relatively compared to other establishments in Waikiki. We ordered the blackened snapper, fish taco, and shrimp taco. Everything here tasted as fresh as can be and portions were big. The snapper was nice and flakey and light. I rarely ever comment about side portions like salad and rice at most places but here they stood out and tasted really good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Jen Graham
Food was fatastic! Shrimp, fish were very fresh. We ordered shrimp fajitas, and the seafood pasta. We tried their onions rings and fried calamari too. Fantastic choice for the first night in Wikkiki and walking distance from our hotel. There is a separate bar in the restaurant to order adult beverages.

If you have to stand in line to get into the restaurant it's always a good sign. We waited about 30 mins and it was worth the while. The atmosphere is more like a cantina in a work place. Inside you stand in line again to order, then you find a place to sit.
The fish was very good, didn't like the cabbage (although from Germany ... myself, not the cabbage), but that's a matter of taste (again, the cabbage, not the German).
Can't wait to go back and taste more of the fish.

Really great food. I was really impressed with the portions that came out. Highly recommend this place for happy hour and seafood fanatics.
Multiple ways to have fish cooked and even as a burger.
Happy cocktails were probably the best deal we came across in this area.
We came twice during our trip it was that nice.

Okay...we went there for lunch because to going there for dinner is out of the question because the line wraps around the block. During lunch it was easy to get in and get a bite to eat and now we know why...because the food is OUTSTANDING. Please see the pictures and see for yourself. I wish I had visited this place when we got here because I would have eaten there everyday. Great food, great PRICES and great people.

A little dine in restaurant that sells mostly Seafood. The food here is quick and delicious the prices are reasonable and everything tasted great. You order at the front and sit down and have the servers bring it to you, you can sit inside and enjoy some AC or sit outside and watch everyone pass through the streets.
tim lowery
I had the seafood pasta there for dinner. The fish and shrimp in it were delicious, the sauce was creamy. Just a great pasta dish and plenty of it! Priced well for the generous portions! I also had the clam chowder and it was great as well. The food came out quickly and the staff were great!
Kent Nguyen
Delicious food. Great fish tacos and seafood pasta. Line is usually out the door but moves quick, about 20 minutes if you start lining up outside.

January 2022:
Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed a lunch fish 🐟 plate. Ordered the Hawaiian snapper charbroiled with a side of Cajun rice.
Fish came on a bed of rice and coleslaw with a side of tartar sauce. Fish was moist and tasty and the 🐟 tasted fresh. Overall, I would rate my experience = 4 star ⭐. There was nothing wrong with the meal. My only complaint is that it's a pretty simple but somewhat uninspiring meal. Nothing to get excited about.
Would I come back again? Maybe.
Sean Lee
Prices seemed to be fair, got the recommended dishes as it was our first time visiting. Line is pretty long but the wait is short. Food isn't nothing too exemplary, fish is a tad over flavored but, overall, worth a visit.

This staff was so friendly and helpful. Keeping the rotation going in this restaurant. I hear it gets busy so I went around 430ish and only a few people in line. I had the seafood pasta and my goodness it was filled with so much fish and shrimp I could not finish it all! Nice creamy sauce to finish it off! I was in heaven and slept like a baby! They sell beer and wine and regular sodas and stuff and also have a separate bar for "hard liquor" drinks. If you want a good fish meal while on Oahu, this is the place to go!
Julia G
The line can get very long, but this fish is completely on point! We are staying nearby at the laylow, and this is becoming a favorite spot. We went on the recommendation of the staff to get the Cajun style, the Caesar salad is also fantastic. You wait in line to order from the counter, and can sit down. You can do takeout either by calling them directly or walking in and they have a way to bypass the long line and order it to go.
Kemner Frani
Absolutely wonderful place to eat. Cafeteria style seafood spot. There are two lines. Line outside to get in line for the line inside to order food. They always recommend the catch of the day which is fresh caught every day. They offer different styles of fish from blackened to sauté. Huge portions. Priced reasonably. The bar inside makes excellent drinks. Def would come back and def worth it!
Rachel Adams-Beja
Ordered the snapper blackened with fries and Cole slaw. The fish had great flavor but was dry because it was overcooked. The tarter sauce and slaw had a different flavor that is not typical of creamy slaw but it was pretty good. The smashed potatoes my son got were good and the side salad was fresh and pretty big. Loved their papaya vinaigrette dressing. The chicken tacobwas good! Was disappointed that the fish was over cooked but I would give it another try.
Michael Lee
Not really worth the wait in my opinion. Fish (from fish and chips) was overdone. Fries tasted good in the tartar though. Caesar was good, shrimp taco was just okay.
Zayn Jinah
Well worth the wait in line.
The fish, rice, and potatoes came out hot, fresh and amazingly delicious. The slaw was actually pretty decent, and the deep fried shrimp tasted exactly how you expected them to.
Definitely recommend visiting if you’ve got some time to wait (it was about 30 min for us) and are in the mood for fantastic fish.
They do also have chicken options, but I couldn’t tell you about that.
Cynthia McCallum
Fantastic food, reasonable prices. Food was plentiful and excellent, staff was friendly. Go early as line ups are long in the evening, be prepared to wait 30 minutes outside but staff were efficient at moving the line up along.
Julie Taeko
This place was amazing! We shared a salad and a charbroiled mahi mahi with Caribbean rice. Everything was flavorful and tasty. We also didn’t have to show our vaccination card here but you generally have to do so for dine in restaurants in Hawaii.
Ajay Katkar
The food was pretty good. The fish tacos are pretty good. Not amazing like you’d fall in love (I’ve had some really good ones) but pretty good that I’d go again and again. Their prices are cheap being in the prime location with all upscale restaurants and hotels around. The quantity was also pretty good. I was full after just having the tacos. The sides tasted great too and their dressing was on point. I would say the dressings were much more better than the actual dish. I wouldn’t blame them as they were pretty busy and getting food ready in no time. Didn’t have to wait long for the food. Totally worth trying it for the good food and especially if you are trying to save money.

Had a dinner Dec 06, 2022. About 7 pm. Waited in the line about 20 minutes before entry. Then another shorter line inside for placing order. Unique style. Order at cash register, pay right away and then take assigned number sign to any vacant seat. The waitress will find you with your order. Food large volume but quality just so so. Similar to street food stall at night in China.
Tom Adamczyk
First of all, the food here tastes fresh and delicious. The 5 of us got 5 different dishes and all of them were 5/5. The portions are very generous. You have to stand in line to order and are given a table number. Find a table put the number at the edge of the table and food will be delivered to you. Our came in less than 10 minutes. The place looked packed but it moved fast. There are few table outside but best for 4 people or less. The 5 of us ate for less than $100 with a nice tip. Totally worth it. Just a side note: we came here 3 times and each time the food was prepared perfectly. This place should be rates as 6 stars not 5. Thank you Paia.

What can I say everything was delicious! Really wish we ate here one more time before leaving But there were so many amazing places surrounding this area also! The staff were great! Also the lady at the bar made the best drinks 🍹 Not to long of wait in line and food comes out pretty fast .
K W
Fresh fish, large portions & good customer service! I really enjoyed the mahi fish burger with fries. Long line up but totally worth it! If you’re taking out, go to the cash register on the right (the left line up is for dine in).
EJ D
Food here was really good. Gor the Ono and every bite was savored. Salad was fresh and shrimp tasted perfect. Place was clean and staff was very kind, especially with the kiddos. Go early, we left at about 7pm and line went out to the next building.
Elvida Gomez
This place does tend to get VERY busy. Luckily we got there at a good time before there was a huge line(which was all the way out into the sidewalk when we left).I got the sautéed snapper and my husband got the grilled salmon. It was dinner time when we went and it was a very good size portion of fish. Mine was ok, I actually loved my husbands choice. I prob would of loved mine more if I had picked grilled.
Rose'lani Kane
I went @ 1230p. The line was 8 people deep. I waited 10 mins to order. Not bad.
I ordered one fish taco ala carte, plus a shrimp cocktail appetizer, a garden salad, a side of coleslaw, and an iced tea.
Fish taco was delicious & hot! Perfect size, & came with 2 corn tortillas. I should've ordered more, as these were my fav.
Shrimp cocktail appetizer was large shrimp; tarter sauce was average. The red cocktail sauce was great, tiny bit spicy. This could be a meal by itself.
Salad had real green lettuce plus some extra veggies with a slightly sweet poppy seed type dressing. Very tasty, a decent portion. I wasn't asked which dressing I wanted, but that's minor.
The coleslaw was bland, even with S-N-P added. The chunky pieces aren't as much fun to eat.
Tea was strong - yay!
Plenty of seating, clean place, friendly servers. Very good meal. I paid $30, which is very reasonable. Thank you!
Nicholas Pun
Quick service, super large portions and really good food! Suitable for larger groups or even by yourself. Would definitely recommend getting the catch of the day for guaranteed freshness.
Vignesh Nadar
The portion sizes are huge and the food is yummy . The staff is very friendly as well. Tried the seafood pasta , quesadilla and salmon with sides of rice and home fries. All of them were great .
Nathalie M
This place has a big lineup in the evening. It can look smaller than it is as it goes pretty deep inside. First, you need to line up then place your order then you sit at a table with your number and the waiters will find you with your food. The lineup was pretty long. There was only one person taking orders and there were quite a few open tables which means process could be improved. We got the blackened mahi mahi fresh catch plate with a side of Cajun rice and house potatoes. Price is reasonable, portions are huge. The fish was absolutely delicious. The side were good but not the most amazing. They also have a bar area where you can get your drink and self serve fountain. Waiters are very efficient and fast in cleaning empty tables and finding you.
David Fischer
I have been a fan of their location in Paia on Maui for many years so when I saw this location in the Waikiki area of Honolulu, we decided to give it a try..it did not disappoint. I love their fish tacos. The food was excellent, the service was good..the atmosphere isn't as authentic as the Paia location but the fish is just as good...we will be back! If you are staying in Waikiki, you must try this place!
Todd Martin
What an awesome bang for your buck. The food is good and portions are huge for a normal adult. I got 2 fish tacos and couldn't finish them. The meal was solid and worth a return to sample other good looking options. This place is 5 star for quick serve and 4 star for sit down. It's a little of both, but worth your time. Don't forget to ask for your military discount and tip the help.
Stanley Jensen
Great atmosphere, friendly staff convenient location in the tourist part of Waikiki. I have nothing but praise for the way the fish was cooked and the salad was prepared. I had the Ono Cajun fish and a Caesar salad and it was extremely good
Chloe Wang
Blackened mahi-mahi with Cajun rice, mahi-mahi is really good! But not a fan of the rice.
Seafood pasta is with white sauce, the shrimp is very good and I love the flavor of this dish.
Onion rings, crispy and tasty.
On dinner time, there are lots of people waiting inline for dining in, it took us 20-30 mins to dine in, but I think it’s worthy.
Aizhan
For the first time I try mahi-mahi fish, it tastes like soft chicken with nuts, I didn’t feel any sea smell, I got into Google and was surprised what a beautiful and healthy fish! I didn't like rice and salad. And my mojito with passion fruit is sooo delicious, thanks to the bartender for the amazing taste of my drink! Honestly, I have not drunk such a delicious mojito for a long time!
Gabe Horstick
This was one of my favorite spots in Maui (OG location). After sinking into my first bite it seemed familiar and all of a sudden I connected the dots. Fish is quintessential Hawaiian dining, coupled with a cold beer… doesn’t get much better than this folks! First tried stand alone fish plate but ended up preferring fish sando - perfect amount of seasoning and accoutrements. Will go back again and again.
Ruben Sochirca
Paía Fish 🐠 is a great place to eat, there is a lot of good food you can pick ,people who works there are amazing!
One think to know is there always is a long long wait line so if you want to get faster you have to be here 4:30pm-5:00pm then you will stay 10-20min
visva m
I was a bit disappointed that this was rated as top fish restaurants in Oahu. They had a wide selection of fish with different ways of making them. I found the fish (Snapper charbroiled) to be a bit dry and overcooked. The fish and chips also was quite underwhelming. Having said that, loved the ambience and Lilikoi margaritas sold there. Long lines but the food arrives within minutes. Definitely worth a try when you visit Oahu.
Daniel Willcockson
Ordered for a larger group (of 10) and we ordered a variety of things (snapper, ahi, salmon, mahi-mahi, etc.). All of the fish was tasty! They even had a “Magic Sauce” available at each table. Everyone left full and happy!
El Brayan Mero
Don’t be dissuaded by the line - it moves fast! Pay for your food and then grab a seat.
Come for the fresh fish! The Chicken Caesar Salad is also great! Replete with a bar, all bases are covered.
Craig Prater
Came here because we had planned to go to the Maui location but saw this one. You order your food and pay for it before you sit down. We came during dinner hours, and waited in line about 25 minutes, but other places around had worse wait times. We walked here as it is a short walk from all the Waikiki hotels. The food was so fresh & good. We started with drinks, because we came right before end of Happy Hour(3-6pm). I had a Mai Tai, wife had a mojito. Excellent. Food wise, she had the blackened salmon w/ slaw & cajun rice. I had the fish tacos w/slaw & cajun rice. Those fish tacos(mahi mahi & ono) were so good & fresh! Also one of the most reasonably priced food places in this area. After ordering, we had our food in about five minutes which was great. Definitely recommend!
Patty Ellis
Excellent place for fresh local seafood meals. Simple, tasty, and great portions. We ate lunch here twice during our three days in Waikiki.

Changing my stars to 5! I stand by my review below for our experience the other night. My kids love this place ! Today I though give it a shot. Service was prompt and helpful suoer quick, hot , fresh and the entire staff friendly and efficient. They had their special sauce out! Still watch the “ large party fee” errors can be made but be alert!
3 stars ! We went here on high recommendation of how delicious it was. The service was fine , cashier somewhat helpful, not overly but somewhat. Out of a few things which is acceptable. But when the food was served it was VERY overly salted, Cajun not spicy but salty. They said they were out of their special sauce that should have been served woth the meal, but they could sell us a jar for 7.00 😆🧐. When we went over the receipt we noticed a “ large party” charge, very curious for it was 4 adults and a 5 year old. I phoned the place and asked what constitutes a large party , she said well over 6 people, or actually 6 plates or more. I explained that is their policy thst is fine but it should be told to the patron, on top of it we all just decided to order together to
Make it simple on the cashier and Venmo each other ( again only 4 adults) and again we should have been notified of this charge, especially when not constituted by the sale, we had onky 5 plates. Maybe next time we don’t order our 5 year old a 24.00 fish plate we just share ours, god forbid giving them good business and being charged an extra 12.00 for purchasing a fifth meal. This is theft! I own a cafe ans I would NEVER charge somebody more money to
Order more food! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The food was just below par at best, but it did seem fresh, just couldn’t eat it because too salty. We were over it by then anyway. I’m
Sure my kids will return they love it but I can’t support that! And no, I don’t want my 12.00 back from the 160.00 food and bar tab we had, not worth my time trucking back over there, but thanks.
Matt L.
Not as good as the location in Maui but still solid if you order the fish plate. Blacked Mahi Mahi tastes great. Cajun rice not so great. The seafood pasta was super creamy and the fish was overcooked. Eat here if a table is readily available but not worth a long wait.
Felicity Fung
Don't let the line stop you from coming to this place! It's worth the short wait! You stand in line to order, then you grab a number and find a table to sit down. To go style. The wait was about 20 minutes for me although it felt longer. I was blown away by how generous the portion of their meals. Food was delicious. I ordered charbroiled mahi mahi seafood salad. The mahi mahi was cooked to perfection. It was flakey and juicy. It was not fishy at all and no lemon was needed! Such a good deal too!
Bel L
Tried the Mahi Mahi Cajun style with rice and home potatoes. Super delicious. We had our meal with the complimentary Paia sauces on the table and it was absolutely flavourful.
Loved people watching on the bustling Kuhio street on their outdoor patio. It’s right across from the popular Marugame Udon restaurant.
E ROSAS
HUGE portions! Everything is made to perfection. I had the seafood pasta, and I highly recommend it. All ingredients are fresh. All staff is fantastic. The place runs like a well-oiled machine—food delivered to the tables nice and hot. Don't forget to order one of their tasty Mai Tai’s Did I mention they have HUGE portions 🙃 Must try; you will not be disappointed.
Nick Gray
Loved this place. High quality fish and fast service. The sides were fine; the fish is the main attraction. I got the salmon one day, and the mahi-mahi the next. Also tried a $5 a la carte taco and it was good!
Scott Besemann
Cute little spot, slammed after 6:00, great menu for seafood. Fish tacos were hardy..a smidge dry but the grilled outside torilla was a nice touch. Fajitas came in a tomato sauce. Better than was expected! Kinda weird that fajitas came with burrito tortillas but still good. Mojito from the bar was very refreshing and made well.
Maria Ptn
We got the calamari appetizer which was really tasty, the mahi mahi and snapper fish plates in Cajun style preparation were good but the Cajun style spices were overbearing the fish flavour and the 2 different fish ended up tasting the same. Home style potatoes were good but cold. Overall, decent dinner for the price.
Mark A. Jones
I've eaten at Paia Fish Market twice now, and both times have been great. Reat service and great food. Blackened Ono with cajun rice and coleslaw on the side. My wife had seafood pasta. She said it was great also.
L Starkl
We were looking for seafood and were sent here. Average meal for two with drinks will be around $50. Food was delicious. I didnt leave a thing on my plate. The hostess lady with red/pink hair was super nice and welcoming. We came with a baby and she showed us the way to get in with a stroller. I observed her with other guests and she was explaining how things work. She's amazing.
Jillene Stevenson
So good! Large portions and the grilled option for the fish was fantastic. The fried calamari were large steak like pieces and very tender. Very casual has sit down and take out options. Fab music was being played and wonderful atmosphere.
Bill McAuliffe
Wow! Great fresh fish in a comfortable setting and reasonable prices. It’s nice to be a couple blocks off the beach craziness. Happy Hour drinks!
Peter Beshai
Easily the best food we had on the island. My only regret was not coming here until our final day. Both the blackened and Cajun style fish were outstanding.
PETER
Went at an off time so the wait wasn't too bad. Service was rather quick and the portions are definitely sharable, so do not over order!
The fish was very fresh and flavorful!
Sanaz Havaei
fish was so fresh, simple and delicious! it comes with a cabbage salad and side of your choice for which I got cajun rice and my partner got french fries!
Sergio Dellepiane
Very simple menù with good options, the key here is the freshness of the fish. Only one other time in my life I had such an amazing tuna.. it was fished in front of me few hours earlier. My wife choice was perfect as well. As Italian I won’t endorse the pasta though
Elisha
Loved this place! Charbroiled Mahi Mahi and Ono were very tasty (bit too much salt for my taste but great nonetheless). The sides (coleslaw, home fries, Cajun rice) were incredible. Price was very good, about $20 per plate for market rate. Line was out the door, took about 40 minutes between standing in line and getting food. Absolutely worth it! Gluten free folk like me: everything is GF except buns and pasta + fries are sometimes cooked in the same fryer. Highly knowledgeable staff and I got no celiac reaction afterwards. Very happy!
Jackie Newton
We found this place as we were looking for highly recommended places to eat with fresh fish in walking distance from the Waikiki hotels. There was a line out the front, as they only let in people as a table left, so there was always a table available for you once you went in. If you wanted to-go orders, then there was a separate line for that and you could just walk right in to the to-go register. The line outside took about 15 minutes, and once inside, the line took about another 10 minutes. There are only two registers to place orders. You place your order and sit at your table with the number and a server will deliver it to you. There are about 6 tables outside and the rest are inside. The employees/servers were very friendly and helpful. They bussed the tables, and walked around to make sure everyone was satisfied and had everything they need. There are little stations with silverware, napkins, etc. At the table there are a bunch of different sauces. They have a variety of fresh fish options and cooking styles. We got the mahi mahi fajitas, which were really unique, different, and had a lot of flavor. The mahi was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. We also got the charbroiled ono plate. It came with coleslaw and a side, which I chose as home potatoes. The sides were adequate but the star of the show was the ono. It was huge! The charbroiled flavors and the seasoning were spot on, the fish was cooked perfectly. It was flaky, moist, and tasted fresh. Overall this restaurant was a huge win and we will definitely be back whenever our next visit is.

I wanted to order take out. I told the host and she had another staff walk me right up to the cash register, past a huge line. I ordered and waited hardly anytime at all and they brought me my food all packaged and in a nice bag for me to take away. The food was delicious!
Kristel Pierce
Great fresh fish and atmosphere. There was a line but it went fast. I had the blackened snapper Caesar salad it was very good.
Chethan S
Loved the Fresh Fish Plate of Mahi Mahi Blackened with cajun seasoning and Cajun Rice! Fried shrimp tasted great too!!
Jesse V
Some of the Best seafood around fresh and can't go wrong stopping by for lunch or dinner. Atmosphere and service was great. All types of fish and different ways of preparing. Don't forget to get you a cold beer or mojito to go with it. Have to stop by if in the area. Enjoy
Mary Aracena
Loved getting an early dinner here. I got the fish plate w Opah, rice/potatoes. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection and service is friendly. A very pleasant experience.
Tanya M.
Ordered a blackened mahi-mahi Caesar salad. Line for dine-in was ridiculously long so I ordered Togo. I really wanted to try the sautéed fish and for some odd reason that option was not available for a salad (fish literally came on the side) Blackened version was okay - a little heavy on the oregano and spices . Otherwise the salad was good ! Pretty good portion so it filled me up! Looking forward to trying the sautéed fish next time I am in town 👌🏼Total for it was $17.50 so it was a bit on the pricier side .
Carolina Margaria
It was quick and easy lunch to get in the Waikiki area, and nothing was bad. In terms of cost the portions were large and the price point was pretty low by Waikiki standards.
The food was ok, everything felt a little under seasoned and the fish were fresh but not fresh caught, if you know what I mean. The fish weren't old or anything and tasted fine.
We got the snapper pan roasted with garlic and lemon (the sauce was very good) and the mahi mahi fish and chips.
Mark Valleskey
All I can say is wow. I love the concept, they only let so many people in line to order to ensure when your FANTASTIC food is out, you have a table. I had the Blackened Mahi Mahi, it was amazing. The sides were delicious (especially the home fries). Simple, fast, delicious. Oh, and local brews on tap!

Must try seafood place in Honolulu. They have a variety of fish. Because its so popular they usually have long waiting lines to get in. We waited for 25 minutes to get in on a weekday evening. They person outside checks you vaccination or covid test before entering. Once you enter there are designated markers to ensure social distancing in the line till you get to the counter. The drink bar is on th upe right and opposite to the food counters which serves good collection of cocktails and beer. They have seperate lines for online order/takeouts and dine in. Once you order at the counter they will give you a number. You can choose to sit at any open table and the food will come to your table. We got the fresh catch plate with salmon sauted in butter and garlic. We choose the cajun rice side. It's come with coleslaw and house sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection and the flavor was amazing. Highly recommend this combination if you are wondering what to order. We also got the fish tacos with the same sides. The fish tacos also tasted delicious. Totally recommend this place for anyone who likes good seafood. The prices are reasonable and the service is quick.
We also visited the place again and had their most popular mahi mahi cooked to blackened style. It was good but I felt like charred flavor was overpowering the fish flavor. This is personal preference. This time we got the potato's for side. The potato's were amazing it was cooked with onions with some spices.
A

This place was delicious. This was easily some of the freshest seafood I have ever eaten. I got the Mahi Mahi with rice and home potatoes, sautéed with garlic, butter, lemon, and wine. For the fresh catch dishes you gave the option of which fish you choose (Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Salmon, Ono, Ahi , Opah) and which way it is cooked (grilled, sautéed, charboiled, Cajun styke, or blackened), and your choice of a side. The fish was nice and tender, perfectly seasoned along with the sides, and savory. I would definitely come here again.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! If you’re thinking about trying it, please do. Don’t be scared if you see a line outside, since it goes by quick and the food is worth it. My dad and I tried 2 different fish plate combinations as well as the clam chowder. I tried the Blackened Mahi Mahi with Cajun rice. Delicious. He tried the Butter Garlic Wine Snapper with Cajun rice. Delicious. The fish is so fresh, and both plates impressed us. However, the clam chowder was not my favorite. I wouldn’t be able to say anything else about it though since it was my first time trying clam chowder. Overall, PLEASE visit if you love FRESH and DELICIOUS seafood. Will be back!
Peter Kuebel
The reason I gave 5 stars for the food is that for the money the quality and quantity is excellent. This is especially true for lunch where it is a couple dollaars cheaper. Happy Hour starts at 3 and cocktails are $8.00

Best Salmon ever!!! The seasoning and grilled to perfection!!! Best seafood in Waikiki so far…have gone back twice already and plan to return for our last meal before returning home!
Philippine Kennedy
Fish portion size is amazing. However, some of the food like the fish and coleslaw needed seasoning…The fish itself was cooked right but it needed seasoning… everything was blend. Coleslaw was too chunky and too dry, more like a basic salad and again also needed seasoning. Waiting times are very long (30-35mins) and my entire order took 15 min to make. Overall, good customer service.
Taylor Cenicola
This place is super good! We enjoyed our dinner very much! My partner and I got the fish tacos, salmon burger, a mai tai and a Moscow mule. The portions were average sized, and pricing was a bit below average for Waikiki. There was a line to get in, but it went pretty fast. I would say no more than 20 mins. Eat here!
Janosch Schonnak
We have been there twice because the fish was so great. I highly recommend the blackened type.
rednipeinahpets
Although I was excited to have ono again, I was disappointed by the oversalted overcooked portion, although it wasn’t fishy. The salad I had was just a typical wilted mesclum with undercooked shrimp. I enjoyed my sushi bar experience of these items more.
Alex S
Super delicious food and quick friendly service. My friend ordered the Caesar salad with fish and I received the snapper meal with rice and potatoes. The options are really good plus they have a mini bar. Theres easy parking nearby in the international marketplace. We ordered around 6pm on a Saturday and got our food within 20 mins but we also noticed once we sat down that the line got super long. Maybe we were just lucky on timing as I’ve heard the line can be very long.
Josh Bathon
Walking around Waikiki looking for a place to eat, we happened on this little pearl. The line was long but we gave it a go anyway. The line moved quickly—we started out the door and only waited about 10 min before ordering, another 10 min for the food. I ordered the Mahi Mahi and she ordered the fish tacos. Both were large portions and ab.so.lute.ly. delicious.
Proof of vaccination required for entry. Lots of seating available. Bathrooms in the back, code for entry available at the cashier.
Kim Ye
If you love fish this is the place for you. Fresh fillets cooked perfectly with the way you want it cooked your way. Got sautéed snapper with Cajun rice and mahi mahi chargrilled with fries. Served with a simple coleslaw and tartare sauce. Would definitely recommend for lunch or dinner in Waikiki.
Melvin Lopez
The best fish in Honolulu!!
I highly recommend this place!!
I had the best Mahi Mahi blackened and fish and chips!! Simply the best !!
Christopher
Wow! So Good. I had the full size grilled mahi mahi and Cajun rice. Rice was not spicy which I wanted but so full of flavor. Mahi mahi was seasoned well, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. I went here for lunch today with surprisingly no line or wait and the food came out quickly. Probably one of the best meals I had in Waikiki.
Stuart Fraser
Perfectly cooked and seasoned! I had the cajun Mahi and it didn’t disappoint. We got there during happy hour and the cocktails were well made and inexpensive:)

Great place absolutely would recommend anyone. I’ve been here twice and fell in love with the deep-fried calamari.
Chad Neilsen
Don’t let the wait scare you you off, this place is legit. They get busy for dinner but the wait to order is worth it. I ordered the Ahi sautéed with rice and it was some of the best fish I’ve ever had. It was seasoned perfectly, melted in my mouth, and you get a generous portion. I’ll definitely be eating here again while I’m in town.
Sulley s
This is an amazing place to eat fresh food and they have fresh fish daily
Come it and try them out
You’ll be amazed at how wonderful the food is
KC
Amazing food! Really enjoyed the Seared Ahi plate. Would recommend and would definitely come back here 😁
Wanderess Warrior
Everything was perfect, Cajun crusted salmon was the best salmon I've ever had! There can be a wait for ordering sometimes but it's well worth every second!
Yinan Liu
This place is as good as the reviews say! Their fish is very good and portion is very generous. Homemade potatoes are soooo good!
Michelle Middleton
Amazing food, great price, fast service. Fresh fish dishes. Be ready for a long line up to get in but it moves quickly. Staff is friendly.
Michelle Au
Great concept (for tables and ordering), great service, fresh fish.
Clam chowder was average, but rest of the dishes were worth ordering again!
Hugh Wheeles
Wife and I ate there twice in 3 days. I've had fish in the states and the Caribbean and this was some of the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back. Staff was awesome and the short wait was well worth it.
Sheldon Pegram
There is a wait to get in, order, and find a seat. The wait is worth it! The mahi mahi was incredible. I had it prepared blackened with French fries.
Ceiba Perry
We couldn’t find a restaurant as we didn’t have reservations so we tried Paia Fish Market. We thought it would be a regular fast food fish place. But we ended up having one of the best pasta dishes we ever had!! The food was very tasty, a very good portion of seafood, the margarita was ok for the happy hour price. We waited about 45 minutes in line (very popular). Once we placed the order it arrived in about 15 minutes.
Charles Castorina
Spectacular Ahi Tuna! Best I have had anywhere for any price! Tender and cooked perfectly to order (mine was medium rare). Get the home fries they are great too. Relatively inexensive for Wakiki. Less than 40 bucks for meal, drink and tip.
Me Wi
I needed some green and ordered a salad topped with red snapper. Very, very good. Other dining partners had fish and chips (loved the chips especially) and the chicken caesar salad. We also enjoyed the magic sauce available at the table. It can be spicy for unaccustomed palates but we were fine. Recommended for a fast, fresh seafood meal (and some green in your life whist in Waikiki)
Sean Yen
Incredible fish! My wife and I felt like we had never actually tasted fish before once we had a bite! The calamari was really cool because they used huge pieces of squid for the calamari. It was cooked perfectly so you could really enjoy the tender texture! My wife got salad with mahi. We asked for it to be blackened and they accidentally brought it out grilled but boy, are we glad they did! We were able to really enjoy the flavor of the fish without distractions like the Cajun or charred seasoning. It also wasn't fishy at all. It was incredible! The salad and dressing themselves were also very good. I'm sure blackened still would have tasted great but I'm glad we got to enjoy the fish "just grilled." My only regret was ordering the fish and chips. They were actually also really good but I felt that since they were fried, I lost the flavor of the fish that I enjoyed from trying my wife's dish! Fries were cooked really well!
All in all, we loved our experience here. The staff was all great, the food was amazing and the prices were also hard to beat! I'm happy to give Paia my strongest recommendation!
Mark Traylor
First, this place is popular which lends itself to being a nightmare. The host made the line and process painless and fun. Great first impression. Secondly, the bartender mixed me a nice strong maitai and provided the secret menu insights I desired. Thirdly, the ordering process was smooth as butter. The food was DELICIOUS and large portions. I orred the fried calamari, clam chowder, seafood pasta, seared ahi tacos, and mahi tacos. Finally, the floor staff, particularly Morgan, made the evening memorable. This was one of the rare times I tipped twice. Highly recommend Paia Fish Market. I will be back.
lalav mk
I came here few days ago and had to come back again before leaving to airport because it was that good!! First time I got seafood salad with grilled mahi mahi (salad has two options - grilled or cajun). The salad was so tasty and it comes with two shrimps and cocktail sauce. The fish was so fresh and tender - although it might be little blend for some people, for me it was just right amount.
Second time I got seared mahi mahi (with butter and garlic) with cajun rice. My husband got cajun mahi mahi with rice and home fries. Wow everything was so good!! I recommend both cajun and seared and with rice and home fries. The plate also comes with cabbage salad which was also good.
The customer service was amazing too. Everybody is very relaxed and friendly. Price was good too for the quality you get. Each plate costed about $21. The only down side was happy hour drinks which was $6 between 3-6 but it was not strong.
But really, I love this place and I can’t wait to come back to Hawaii and dine in here again!!
donna chulack
Had fish taco (1) lunch for dinner last night which included coleslaw and 1 side. Delicious and large portions. You order at counter, find a table and when ready, servers bring your meal to you. Had an also delicious pineapple
margarita. All employees so helpful and friendly. Will definitely return and highly recommend.
Andrew Hodge
The line is big but the wait isn't that bad. The menu was well explained, and ordering was a snap! Calamari, Grilled snapper, and sauteed mahi were amazing! Service was great and I would come back again!
Luis Yhansi
Paia never disappoints me I went to this restaurant in maui and the food is great and no really expensive, I don’t hesitate to come back here
CookieMonster31415
Great food and well worth the wait although don't dress up. Get the home style potatoes and eat some greens before digging into a generous slab of fish.
Dave Otto
Food was amazing. The potatoes are excellent, highly recommended. They have a really good pineapple magarita
Alexandra Nusawardhana
A great last meal in Hawaii! Can’t beat the prices here for fresh fish tacos! The only thing was the line was 45 minutes just to order food so I think a different ordering system would definitely help here.
Michael Knight
We ate here three times in one week during our vacation. We ate almost everything on the menu and loved every dish. The line moves fast the food comes out quick and cooked to perfection. Definitely the best value in Waikiki for seafood. Highly recommend if you are looking for good food at a great price!
Aaliya Chyanne
This we some of the freshest fish I’ve ever had! The service was excellent as well, the staff had excellent menu knowledge and were so kind! This was the best place I’ve ate at in Waikiki. The flavors were excellent and the fish was cooked to perfection. Worth every dollar! They also have beer and taco specials and a happy hour! I highly recommend!
Stacy Kline
Fantastic local fish restaurant serving up delicious seafood, cooked or raw by an accommodating staff!
Parvin Jabiyeva
Amazing food, fresh seafood, excellent service, long wait time but it def worth it!
We had sea food burger with snapper and kalamaris. Omg, it was super delicious, fish was super fresh. Would def come back for sea food pasta!!!
Andre Harrison
This place is busy with long line. Pick up order options not available during rush hours. I ordered grilled salmon with rice. Salmon was good rice not so much. Clam chowder is a little salty n tasted weird. ASK for food description before ordering.
Akshay Jawharkar
Worth the long wait in line outside. Paia fish market does not disappoint. The fish portion was ginormous and felt like enough food for 2 people actually.
Priscilla Ro
Quite tasty- the fish cooked to perfection and spot on with the flavors. A bit of a wait to get to order (you order then sit) but the food came out extremely fast.
Michelle M
Everything is so delicious!!! I got the fresh catch plate with blackened Ono (Hawaiian Wahoo). Their Cajun rice is out of this world 🙌
Ron Li
Large portions, fast service, the complementary magic sauce goes really well with the fish!
Timothy Libby
This restaurant was truly outstanding! We loved the shrimp tacos with their sauce. Literally finger-licking good! The staff was always so friendly and efficient. Well worth the wait as the lines are long… for a very good reason.
Joe Rizo
Ample portions and well seasoned but I’ve been here several times and on half of those visits the fish has been overcooked.
Olivia H
We tried the Cajun style mahi mahi and sautéed ono. Both fish dishes were delicious. Cajun rice & home potatoes were a great side. There was a long line to get in, but it moved fairly quickly. We only waited about half an hour. Once we ordered food, it was delivered in less than 10 minutes.
Kate Jo
Was ok. But Ono was too dry. Mahi Mahi was great. The potatoes were great. Rice was a bit new flavour for me.
RCS S
The blackened Mahi Mahi taste really good. Long line and long wait, but the associates are friendly.
C.D. C
We visited based on several positive recommendations from hotel staff - we were looking for food that we couldn't get at home and hopefully something really local to Oahu.
The food was decent - but nothing amazing. It wasn't particularly Hawaiian by any stretch. Other members of our party noted that this was like something you find in mid-range/casual restaurant around San Diego.
It was a decent experience, but it definitely did not live up to the hype - or the line to get in.
Ludmilla Ferreira
Best fish in town… we got ours charbroiled and blackened. I recommend trying the Ono fish, typically Hawaiian. Great price! Staff is quite friendly. There’s usually a big line up but it goes really fast as it not a place where you normally hang out after eating. I wanted to go back every night!
Sally G
The blackened mahi mahi was so fresh and delicious! This place is a must try if you like seafood! Really generous portion size as well. Line was pretty long around dinner time but moved fast. Worth the wait. You have to order first before you can grab a table.
John McKnee
Amazing. Fish you can enjoy weather you are in the mood for healthy and clean or indulge in fried foods and fish burgers. Also, the home potatoes are incredibly underrated! Give them a try.
I’d recommend sautéed snapper (juicy!) with house potatoes and rice. Alternatively, indulge in a tasty fish burger, fried shrimp and chips!
Adrenna Nicole
I just love this place. Some of the best drinks, seafood and people on this island! My husband and I are here for a week on Oahu and we have been to Paia multiple times. Why? Their drinks are killer, the staff is some of the most friendly people we've ever met (seriously, they feel like family), and the food is amazing.
There's a long line for a reason and it's worth every minute!
L’ Angloy
Always busy and the food is good. We had the fish tacos. The fish was cooked perfectly (likely pan fried with butter) but the sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese we're just too basic for the quality of the fish. We have been anxious to try Paia to compare to our favorite fish tacos in Honolulu...And our favorite is still our favorite.
Daniel Spivack
Excellent fish and service. The food was really top notch and they served a very large amount of fish. I had Cajun ahi which was delicious, so much so that we almost went back again for dinner. Highly recommended if you enjoy good portions and fish.
Deven Miles
Had to wait in line but it was worth it.
Right by the restaurant, Just down the Allie way, there is a flea market worth checking out. Tourist stuff but some good deals never the less.
Stacy Kistler
I hate leaving “meh” reviews, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. It’s pricey fish served with rice or fries. They were out of several items before 12:30. My grilled ono was really dry and I had to use a lot of tartar sauce to eat it. The Opakapaka local snapper was much better. The shrimp cocktail was the highlight of the meal.
Piperton Girl
So we’ve had it twice, both times delicious, with the exception of what I ordered today, it was an odd take on Fajitas, I was expecting the traditional sizzling plate with peppers onions and meat but instead it was essentially a bowl of salsa with chicken and yellow peppers in it… and then a plate with cheese, lettuce, rice, tomatoes, and tortillas… I ate it but it was a lot of salsa… it was odd
A T
You will be waiting for at least an hour if not more to get your hands on Paia’ s dinner menu, which includes popular tacos, quesadillas and pictured here, blackened salmon and teriyaki chicken. What stole the show for me was the fish sticks. It’s real mahi-mahi fish guys. It’s a very busy restaurant that has a substantial line inside, with some wearing masks and none respecting social distance. Side of potatoes were just okay, not seasoned, and Cole slaw was also good. Tartare sauce was really good. They are less busy for lunch.
Maxim Tyutyunnikov
Really good fresh seafood. And at a good price. The line can be long, but it moves at a good pace.
Kevin FORTE
The food is excellent. If I lived here I would probably eat here 3 times a week.
Blackened snapper with rice.
Jack Gallo
Fish was food. Everything else was alright. It takes a very long time to order and then not too long to get your food. More expensive that it should have been.
jeffrey b
This place has very fresh fish, served in a few different ways; Cajun, grilled, etc. Fries or rice come with most fresh fish plates. Staff are friendly and helpful. Store hours were different from what's posted here on Google; opened at 11:00, not 10:30.
Highly recommend for great fish in a relaxed setting.
Greg Austell
The preparation of the fish is outstanding. The selection of sides is very starchy and full of carbohydrates. Very hard to follow the Mediterranean diet except for their seafood salad on their menu. While this is a very minor complaint in January. That's important for those of us who are trying to be healthy again. All it would take is adding roasted vegetables as a side and I would never go anywhere else.
David Low
Loved this place. Very worth it! Go during off times (4-5pm) to avoid long line ups
Alviana Maraj
First day I had the mahi mahi meal which was soo delicious I had to come back a 2nd time and tried the calamari which was a big disappointment for me. It was really over cooked and chewy, total bummer. But other than that great place and service!!!
Sonny
Best shrimp taco EVER!! My family and I had them for breakfast lunch and dinner. My kids are 7 and 8 yrs old and loved them just as much as my husband and I did. Pic is of cajun style fresh Ono fish, calamari stake stripes and shrimp tacos..all delicious!
Megan Williams
Go early to avoid a long line and hit up the 3-6pm Happy Hour. We had Seafood Pasta, Fish and Chips, and the Calamari. Would recommend all 3 but really liked the Calamari. Staff was super friendly, food was killer.
My Word is My Life
Very friendly, even better food. I was very pleased! The grilled Ono with home fries was very well done. The Mahi was superbly done, with the rice and home fries. The fried shrimp was okay, nothing special. Their tartar sauce was a pleasant surprise, with a him of sweetness. I will be going back.
Anna W
SO GOOD!! Prices are so great as well, just right. Lots of good food!
And I can’t say enough about the incredible bartender Zucchi! She is the best so sweet. Go here you won’t be disappointed.
Regina Phalange
Simple, but oh so yummy! Tastes like a delectable home cooked meal.
Personal favorite - the sautéed snapper over Cajun rice and home potatoes. The snapper is super juicy, the rice is flavorful, and the home potatoes are the tastiest potatoes I’ve ever eaten! Their fries are crispy and addictive!
Portions are pretty big, I’d recommend sharing one portion and an appetizer between 2 people.
If you mind a long line make sure to come early around 4pm, since starting 5pm it can get super busy.
Charlie Fenton
Excellent seafood! Great variety, cooked very well. Perfect place for a quick lunch fix.
Katelyn Gutzler
The long lines are a good indication of how amazing the food is. The service is also excellent. I got the shrimp quesadilla and It’s the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. HIGHLY recommend. The long lines are well worth it!
ATETA Group
Blackened fish tacos (ono and mahi mix) were very good, needed a lime crema to make them 5 stars. Blackened Ono sandwich was 5 stars. Cole slaw needed a touch more flavor, fries were great, Bikini Blonde beer and a margarita top it off. 4.5 stars (can’t pick that with google), need to come back to try more. Almost forgot, calamari appy was great!
Ben Goolsby (Ben)
Amazing fish but the grilled Ono is the best but don’t get the calamari it’s not very good
Kona Bean
Grilled mahi burger was fresh and delicious ($2 extra for fries). Not sure if they’ve changed their blackened seasoning but the blackened mahi was a little too salty.
Richard Paterson
Staff was super friendly and helpful. The Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly. Long lines for dinner are worth the wait.
Alexander Washofsky
Quite possibly some of the best fish I've had in a long time. Blackened snapper was to die for - the flavors were perfectly on point and the fish was incredible. Combined with a well-portioned plate at extremely reasonable prices (especially given the area), this place is absolutely worth a visit and worth waiting in the possibly out-the-door line.
Christina Yanez
Enjoyed dining here today! We both ordered blackened ahi steak with Cajun rice, slaw, and yummy margaritas!
Stephen Bakin
This place consistently has the freshest fish ever of any restaurant I've been to before. Also, low cost/good value and a nice selection of local beers on tap. Highly recommended!
Amita Sharma
If I had a choice would give more stars! Food is fresh, quickly prepared and delicious. Line ups are long but very fast moving. Staff are all friendly and courteous and place is kept very clean.
Will definitely come back during my trip to Honolulu!
Hansel Cedillos
Reasonable prices for Hawaii. I only wish they used sliced cheese over shredded on their burgers. I've been to the original location in Paris a number of times. It was nice to see the franchise expanding. Outdoor seating available.
전선혜
Its my first time writing review after a meal in Hawaii, I had a perfect lunch.
Recommand menu: Ahi blackened w/cajun rice, grilled medium!
Ahmed Sabbour
Tasty seafood. We tried the seafood pasta and the seared ahi tuna with Cajun spice (rare). Both were great.
I wish people respected the rules though. They specifically ask you not to occupy a table until you order and get a number, yet you still find the people who think they've outsmarted everyone else by holding a table while someone in their party lines up to order. It was annoying being unable to find a table while I'm holding my food for a while.
Nam
I got the blackened snapper with rice and potatoes and it was amazing. We also got the seafood pasta, but I preferred the snapper entree more. Everything tasted fresh, the place was kept very clean, and the service was fast.
Pradnya Khalwadekar
Fresh fish. We had cajun fish ahi and blackened fish mahi plates.
Dave Danekas
Was told this was the place to go for great seafood. Popular? That would be a yes, the line stretched outside at 8:30 at night. But the wait is worth it! Great options for the seafood lover and for those that want a non seafood choice. The staff are all super friendly. Do indeed give it a try!
David M
Paia🐟 is great the food , service & the music's awesome, the atmosphere is perfect & they have a happy hour from 3:00pm to 6:00pm 🤸🏻♀️ . I had the salmon Cajun style it was great good flavor and their house chili hot sauce is great love the flavorI'll definitely be back. Gotta try the mai ties 🍹🍹 they're amazing 🍹🍹🤙🏼
Andrew Davis
High quality fish and on the healthier side if you order grilled with rice. Appetizers were also delicious.
Stephen Fang
Best seafood pasta I've had while in Hawaii, and I really tried. Great portions and price point. Fresh market fish blackened style with Cajun rice is a winner too.
helen singh
Before I arrived in Waikiki I knew I was going to eat here. And once in waikiki I was just blown away by Paia food. Ended up eating 90% of my dinners at Paia. I got the shrimp and chips and blackened salmon on Cajun rice. Tbh the best food! Hands down. The shrimp was deep fried but did not taste greasy nor there was any traces of oil. The shrimp and chips was to die for. The salmon was cooked to perfection and so flavourful and again no trace of oil. And the delicious Cajun rice. I am home now and i miss Paia so much. I am craving Paia on a daily basis. 😩
Clare Cremin
Delicious. Get your fish sautéed in butter & garlic 🤤 …
layla shabeeb
Amazing! I don’t eat a lot of fish, but wanted to try something authentic or seafood-ish. I ordered Mahi Mahi plate and it tastes excellent and very fresh! My husband ordered the fish tacos which was above average. Also we ordered the deep fried calamari which is superb! Drinks are also very good especially during their legit (low price) happy hour. One of our drinks was late because they were busy, but they made up for that!
Crabby Ermine
It’s so good I don’t want to post how good it is!
Great location and vibe. Great staff. Great bar. Love the Brazilian bartender 😍
The food was all so good!!
Gregory Bohus
The Blackened Mahi Mahi dish at this restaurant is amazing! The seasoning was perfect and the fish was cooked to perfection. It was beautifully presented and a great value for the price. The staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend trying this dish!
Bryan Sequeira
Excellent fresh catch, cooked to your liking ...I got mine Ahi Blackened with Cajun Rice on the side and some local brews on draft. I got Maui Brewings Big Swell. The wife got a burger (so there is something for everyone). It seemed like a blended burger , beef lamb and sausage. Delicious!
Stephanie Taylan Gosselin
HappyHour 3-6pm. Lots of specials!! Had a lilikoi margarita Malu. Super tasty!! Thank you for the refreshing drink.
Ssook Green
Fish and Shrimp was fresh and good!
1. Fresh catch plate : Fish(Ono) match with cajun rice. Coleslaw was just ok. Too big cut.
2. Fish & Chips : crispy and fresh.
3. Deep fried Shrimp : crispy and fresh. cocktail sauce was just ok.
Too small dish. Fries was keep fell off from dish.. silverware wasn’t clean..
Don’t give soda cap and straw if don’t ask..
Kaz M
I would highly recommend to use their app to order for a pick up. That makes it much easier.
They do get SUPER busy nowadays.
The first time, it was great - fast and yummy.
The 2nd time, they were slow (because they were busy) our order was not ready till 20 min after the scheduled pick up time - and some fish didn’t have much flavors.
Many #glutenfree options here. Generous portion.
If you need to keep the safety distance while you wait or eat, make sure to avoid the peak time. The staff is doing their best but there were clueless space invader patrons there when I went to pick up around 7:30 on Friday.

Awesome food. This food is so fresh and clean. The fish at Paia is so delicious it has great flavor. The way they mix rice, potatoes, and all the ingredients makes it pop. They have a good size menu and they do great at what they offer. Their coleslaw is so unique I didn't know what to expect but it is crisp and fresh tasting not heavy like other coleslaw. Find it up some stairs by the international market.
Tena Valenti
Delicious food! Best fish tacos! Great happy hour drinks. Amazing onion rings! Friendly staff. Clean. Plenty of tables inside and a few outside. Went twice in five days! Highly recommend.
Nic
Had the opportunity to dine in at the paia fish market while we were in hawaii for 10
Days. The line is long but worth the wait, Im glad they were open, as the day prior we had went and they were closed mid day! The price you pay here is a fraction you'll pay anywhere else in Waikiki for fish tacos. They were hands down the best fish tacos I had while in Waikiki! 10 out of 10 recommend
Stefanie Donly
By far the best food we’ve eaten: Mahi mahi plate and seafood pasta. We came back a second night and braved the line (which is faster than it looks) and were overwhelmed again by how delicious the food is! Their bartender is also super lovely and makes really delicious cocktails! The passion fruit mai tai was really refreshing!
Omar Ghani
Located by central Waikiki this fish restaurant has many great options to choose from. The quality of seafood is very good here. However the end execution of the dishes are a 3 star. The tacos didn’t have the best flavors of sauces and the rice wasn’t as flavorful. The toppings of the tacos could also use some work to make the overall flavors pop. Worth visiting but not. A stellar experience.
Josh Brown
Food is so good here. You get a generous portion for the money. The ahi, Mahi, and snapper were all amazing. Everything felt fresh and was cooked perfectly. The dinner fish plates will be enough for the hungriest person and the tacos will satisfy for any meal. The wait times and line can be a bit off putting but it is worth braving them. Alternatively, if you eat an earlier dinner, 4ish, then you can avoid a long wait. Give them a shot, we ate here multiple times on our visit.
Leah Hansom
Went during happy hour on a Monday. Fast service, good sized portions, reasonable prices, and delicious food. Definitely will return
Markus De
Underwhelming experience and food. The long wait is not justified at all. Their food is a typical example of the lack of creativity in American kitchen - choice of grilled, Cajun, and blackened. Wow. How ingenious. You get a huge slab of dry fish, French Fries or a not-so-great “Cajun” rice, and tasteless cole slaw. The very creative choice of sauces are Ketchup, Tartare or Tabasco. Get real food somewhere else, cheaper.
A Smith
The food was amazing. I got it my first night in Waikiki after a 12hr flight and it was just what I needed. You can tell it's all made from scratch and is very fresh. The line is insanely long so I ordered online to pick up. Definitely check this place out.
Chase
Good affordable food in Waikiki. Line moves quickly so don’t be discouraged. Fish tacos, burger, onion rings, fries were all good.
daniel kim
There is no elevator here that I could tell, and there are stairs to the restaurant. This would have been problematic, but a server walked out and helped lift the stroller into the restaurant! Super helpful staff at all points of contact from the cashier to the waiters.
The dinner plate for the fish tacos adds a massive amount of food for an extra $3 (coleslaw, and we got a combo of cajun rice and home fries).
The ice machine churns out solid 1" cubes of ice which stay nice and frosty for a long time.
Merikay o
Went back twice for their seafood chowder and fish tacos which were outstanding. This time I tried the seafood bowl which was on the expensive side. However it was worth every penny. Loaded with shrimp schalops, fish chunks lots of noodles and yummy sauce and cheese. There was so much I couldn't finish it and took it back home for a second meal. For two meals it was a great price and I'll go again.
John K
I’m gonna give the dinner plates and lunch plates five stars they’re actually fantastic. I thought the tacos were not as good as they should’ve been. The service was fantastic! It can be crowded to find a table but usually clears out pretty fast. The fish was very fresh and delicious. I would definitely eat lunch or dinner here again
nafeesa F (Naf)
Great fish plates at a reasonable price. The fish is super fresh, seasoned well and cooked to perfection... moist tasty and not dry. I really liked their butter sautéed version of the fish the best... what can go wrong with a like butter haha. Blackened Mahi Mahi was a little bitter for my taste. Must visit restaurant if you are visiting Hawaii.
Gerry Beylerian
Loved the cajun style Mahi Mahi with Cajun rice! Their Magic Sauce is to die for. Highly recommend this place for lunch. Inside is spacious and the seating area is nice, though there are lineups around the block at dinner time.
The Mussi
So just by chance saw that there was a long lineup for food at this place. We decided to come another day and we did. Here already a second time in a row... The fish is really good, fresh and you can choose how it’s done. Very good price value and staff is very friedly. Will return for sure! Mahalo.

Juicy flavorful mahi mahi. wait is reasonable around 6
MN
Both pieces of fish was a bit over cooked but otherwise delicious.
Quintin Coppola
Paia Fish Market...here's a tip for you all, skip the entrees and go for the salad. You get just as much fish and some shrimp for a significant cost reduction. Like everyone else notes, their fish is great! I was a little skeptical when my friends suggested eating here but I was pleasantly surprised.
The menu is limited, but I think that allows them to specialize and focus on quality. Often times restaurants have large menus that don't have a focus in order to please everyone, and that makes the quality of the food suffer. Out of our group of 5, everyone loved their meal and said they would be willing to return.
Staff was helpful and super friendly. Our one waitress may have been having a bad day...she would just take our plates without asking and we found that to be very odd.
If you're staying at the Laylow (you should!), it's down the escalators and to the left.
dorianne Spivack
Best fish we had in Oahu! I got the blackened red snapper. So fresh, so juicy! Highly recommend!
Tina Lampus
Fish and chips. Can't recall eating Mahi Mahi, but this was really good. Lightly breaded (could have been a little more seasoning in breading). Margaritas 🍹 Excellent bar keep.

18Aug19. The wait was minimal. The waitress with the accent was awesome. I ordered the fried shrimp appetizer and the fish and fries. The seven fried shrimp were hot and fresh. The tarter sauce was great. The 4 pieces of fish were fried just right and the fries were good but could have been better if they weren't shoestring fries, which became hard as they got cold.
Bryan
I tried the Ono tonight. It had a great flavor but a little too firm for my taste. I would recommend the mahi mahi or snapper for a better texture. However, I would imagine any fish they cook would be good. I will try their Ahi on my next visit
Eric Hwang
We saw customers waiting in long line yesterday, so we know we must try it today. We came in around 4:30pm, and the restaurant was 80% full. We ordered fish plate, with Sauted Ono fish and cajon rice. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the price was very reasonable, at about $25 per order. Definitely recommend to give it a try.
Par Botes
I love paia fish market on Maui. This feels more industrial, the industry vibe of the room and the kitchen with it's chrome and stainless steel just doesn't feel the same as the OG paia. Nonetheless the food is decent and the crew was sweet so just go for it.
Ryan Bridgen
Decided to give this place a try because we saw the happy hour sign out front. Glad we did because the food was fantastic and so were the happy hour drinks. We ordered the fish tacos and the fresh catch plate with the blackened Ahi along with some Mai Tai’s. The tacos tasted great and so did the Ahi. The Ahi was $27, but it was a large piece of Ahi and it came with potatoes, Cajun rice and coleslaw. It was a lot of food. Overall I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
Tammie Nguyen
Highly recommend opah with lemon butter over cajun rice. Good portions. The snapper was great too but the opah was so moist and flaky. The mahi mahi with lemon butter and ono blackened where a little dry
Joey
On a few day trip to Honolulu, this was probably my favourite restaurant. The fish was fresh, tender, and delicious, and well worth the price in my opinion. We tried the ono sandwich, as well as the fresh plate of opah and maki. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants some affordable seafood in the Waikiki area.
Only gripe is that it gets fairly busy and people can hoard seats before they order, so you can get into a situation where you've ordered but can't find a table.
Michael Callahan
Go before the line is out the door! Food is fantastic and great prices. Cajun rice is great more like rice pilaf but with chunky veggies.
Chatonna Spicer
My husband and I came here for dinner and we were pleasantly blown away by how delicious our food was. The margaritas on the happy hour menu did not disappoint in taste or alcohol 😉, food was fresh hot and delicious and the staff were super friendly! Definitely ONO! …
Norma Stein
Excellent seafood at a good price. Be prepared to wait in line..no reservations.
Hung Do
Travel on a budget in Waikiki? Need to eat here for fresh fish options under $15, walking distance to Waikiki beach. Amazing fresh fish options. Can’t go wrong with any. Our favorite is the Ono. Portions are more than adequate. The fish sandwich was messy good. Cooked to perfection. Not overcooked like a piece of cardboard at places who don’t understand fresh fishes vs frozen ones. Check out these photos. Hungry yet?
Robert Martinez
Fantastic fish tacos. They use quality ingredients and they are always cooked fresh. If you like dill, this place will be your favorite. Their tartar sauce and coleslaw has it in it. Their mahi mahi fish and chips are also very good.
Tiffany Shaw
The best food we've had on our trip to Hawaii. We're going back before we leave. Great food choices!
Alex Prairie
It’s pretty much a Hawaiian version of California Fish Grill (for those who get it). Had the Mahi Cajun Sandwich and Seafood Pasta and they were pretty good. It wasn’t anything out of this world, but I’d still recommend it. Portions are huge and prices are decent, except the seafood pasta is a cool $22.
Heath Honeycutt
Awesome restaurant that you have to try! The food was absolutely fantastic and the people were great too. There were also good choices for the kids. Also it's a really nice atmosphere for a date or for the family! If you are in the area I can guarantee that you will not regret making this your choice for a meal!
Cathy Caffrey
The Mahi Mahi fish & chips and the home potatoes were fresh, hot, and delicious!
DS R
Friendly staff, good seafood, nice location. Counter order, with staff bringing the food to your table. Local beer on tap and mixed drinks available. Recommended for a high quality, convenient, quick meal.
Nichol Douglas
We ordered Salmon burger, fish and chips, and blackened ahi for lunch. The fish was all delicious. Everything tasted fresh and was seasoned perfectly for full flavor without losing the flavour and texture of the fish itself.
H Spores
So good that we ate here 3 times while on vacation for a week. The fish options were awesome and reasonably priced for everything you got. I would highly recommend!
Viktor Turek
Food was decent. Service was not up to par because they brought food I didn't order. The atmosphere was unsettling, meaning people rushing in and out, not a relaxed establishment.
Ryan McCalla
Ordered fish tacos and my partner had the Mahi burger. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Both dishes were very flavourful, especially the Cajun rice and slaw that was served with the tacos. Can't wait to come back to try some of the other menu items.
Lucas Havlina
Great fish tacos, and very fast service, atmosphere is nice but having been to the original does not carry the same vibe.
Asif Iqbal
Really good food. 100% try it out of you are in Waikiki. Tried there fresh fish plate. We order Ahi blackened and Snapper. Ahi is better of 2. Snapper is really good as well but Ahi is better textured fish. You don't need sauce to eat their fish . Their home style potatoes goes really well with magic sauce. Shrimp tacos are really good.
Stephen Anzaldua
great food and drinks at a reasonable price in a laid-back environment. the line can be long but moves quickly. we ate there several times during our week in honolulu. special thanks to Malu, Zuki, and Sidney (hope i got those names right) for the excellent service. the margaritas paired perfectly with the ahi, ono, mahi mahi, and calamari.
Tianhao Wu
This is probably the best cost/taste ratio restaurant in waikiki. $10-$15 gets you enough tasty food to last 2 meals. The potatoes (home fries) are the same caliber I've had at restaurants 3x the price. I've only had tacos and quesadillas so far but will definitely come back and splurge for their market fish dishes.
Ann Wood
Delicious fresh catch plate with a nice large portion size of fish! We had blackened Cajun and sauteed, both were flavorful and hot. Coleslaw was tasty too, not too sweet. Friendly fast service.
Nick Cheston
Superb fish you order at the counter. Grab an open table and enjoy.
Clearly a place the locals choose to come.
Fariba Asadi
Super fresh and yummy 🤤 highly recommend this place!!!
Preston L Ferrell
We when there while on vacay last mouth. We did take out to beat the long line. My food was okay, but my wife ate something there that didn't agree with her and took ill. We ate there a couple of years ago with no problems. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.
Brown Eyes
Paia Fish Market Waikiki was a fun experience. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. We had the chicken taco plate and the fish taco plate and each came with salad, Cajun rice and the most delicious hash browns I've ever eaten. I highly recommend this restaurant. #PaiaFishMarketWaikiki #GreatStaff #GreatFood #BestHashbrownsEver #GreatFish
Alyssa K
Friendly service, but average food.
Max Soi
Fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The fish are fresh and well prepared and seasoned. Excellent quality with generous portions. Beer and wine are also available.
Wendy levenson
One of the best reaturaunts in wakiki! The salmon seared fish was amazing and one of the best we have had! It's a great lunch spot as it's quick and filling!
Steve Dainard
Loved this place. Everything was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the seafood pasta - off the hook!!!
Donny Runstedler
Amazing fish tacos and the bar tender was so much fun. Don't expect to find a seat if it is super busy but the staff will do their best to get you seated. You order first and then sit. You cannot sit until you have ordered. Very unique experience but my wife and I loved it. Great prices compared to other restaurants around
Muhammad Usmani
Ordered mahi mahi with cajun and it was very tempting. I do like how the restaurant was checking everyone's vaccine status so that we can eat freely. Customer service was top notch. Food came within 10 mins although it was very busy!!
Estella K
When in Honolulu, definitely stop by Paia fish market! You can order any fish off the fresh caught menu--and they have some unique choices. We had red snapper burgers and they were AMAZING. Not fishy at all, and so tender and juicy. The calamari was also very tender and not chewy at all.
sahar hosseinirad
Good food and reasonable price. I really enjoyed their snapper dish. It was so delicious and good portion.
Annabel Navarrete
This place was recommended to us by our tour driver. Awesome eats at a reasonable price. Just takes a long time to order. Prepare to wait 45-60 min. Had the fish tacos, Cajun style snapper, and Cajun style mahi mahi. Very delicious!
Joyce Lin
If you're in the mood for fish, this is the place. A little pricey for counter service but incredibly large portions. Opah is thick and juicy. Opakapaka (pink snapper) is firm. $55 for 2 people for dinner with no drinks.
Lynn Akers
My sister and I stopped here for lunch and honestly, the fried shrimp we ordered as an appetizer were the best I've ever had. My meal consisted of grilled snapper and a huge organic salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I highly suggest eating at Paia if ever in Honolulu.
Alison Rutledge
Paia Fish Market is a must visit every time we're in Hawaii (and usually multiple times each trip!). Between my husband and I, we've tried just about everything on the menu at least once. The fish tacos are my absolute favorite (either with the Cajun rice or the home fries - try dipping the fries in their Magic Sauce instead of ketchup, yum!). Even when the line is long, it goes pretty quickly as all of the staff are super efficient (and so friendly!); the line moves and the food comes out speedily. They have some fun cocktails for Happy Hour, and their lilikoi margarita is the perfect pair for the fish tacos!
CHRISTINA MARIE
Best quality food and excellent service. The fish is fresh and flaky extremely flavorful and great portion sizes. We have been trying to find fresh, not fried fish all over Waikiki and we came across to this place. This place seriously needs to have a five star rating! We are from Las Vegas and big foodies so to impress us it is very hard and this place did the job. The calamari is humongous! I’ve never seen calamari so big. I got the mahi-mahi sautéed in a lemon garlic butter sauce & my husband got The snapper sautéed in a lemon garlic butter sauce and it was out of this world! The coleslaw has its own lemon dill sauce added to it and is fresh. This place everybody has to try at least once!
Alex Sidd
I love the fact you can customize your own meal. The market price is anywhere between $23-27, depending upon the fish. I gave it only three stars for ambience, had to squirt away two pigeons away. Although, there is seating inside if you want to avoid road noise. Will definitely, order from this sit down fast food joint.
Pete Perez
Had lunch here most days. It wasn't super expensive (relatively), casual and delicious! Blackened Ahi for the win!
Chirag Patel
Best happy hour in town! $6 per drink, and they were large drinks! Absolutely delicious and refreshing drinks. Bartender Yuli was very talented!
Tom MacNabb
I had the blackened Ahi with the 1/2 rice 1/2 potato side. Portions were generous and when I asked for medium rare they got it right!!
Joel Dazey (Joel)
Generous portions, outstanding staff (even though they're always slammed), and fair pricing. This place deserves its reputation for a must-visit dining spot. Plenty of seating indoors, but the outdoor tables are great; sun is usually to your back behind the building, and its a refreshing way to spend a short afternoon meal.
Mae
I went there at 10:30 hoping to dine here before my flight back home but the restaurant was closed so I waited about ten minutes and then someone opened the door and said they are actually open at 11am. So the open time 10:30 on the website and on Google is incorrect. Haven’t got the chance to try their food. Four stars just because of all the other good reviews I see online 🧐
Prassanth Laks
Mahi mahi + blackened + rice and house potatoes that also come with coleslaw = bliss.
Table has a few nice sauces as well.
Nice outdoor seating.
sunjin cone
I ordered the Calamari and Chips plate for dinner. It was several strips of very large slices of squid breaded and deep fried with a generous side of skinny fries and slaw. Delicious and a great value for dinner near the resorts.
Milton
It's sorta pricey but the food was good so probably worth it? Lots of fish choices and options on how you want it prepared.
Tony Flecklin
Grilled snapper was excellent, as was the fried shrimp. Potatoes were super. Portions are large enough to split, and prices reasonable for Waikiki. Best fish I've had so far this trip.
Glory N
My favorite fish place. A must have dish is the grilled Mahi Mahi with the potatoes and rice for sides. Make sure to add the lemon that comes with it, it elevates the whole dish! Call ahead and place an order and use the quick "To Go" pick up line or dine in their casual and family friendly seating. A MUST have for Mahi Mahi lovers.
Ali Manek
Amazing fish tacos! Gotta try them! Burger was also great!
Paul M
Fresh, tasty food with good portions. Friendly staff. Deducting one star because they use plastic takeaway containers. You guys are better than that! :/
Alan Chu
We really like the food here. They have fantastic seafood dishes. The fish tacos and the shrimp tacos were winners. They also have a bar if you enjoy alcoholic beverages.
The one thing to note is that this place doesn't take reservations, so be prepared to wait in a long line (30+ min). We didn't have a problem with seating, but that could be a problem during their busiest times.
Aaron Wolfe
Fresh fish market. They had Mahi Mahi, Ono, Snapper, Salmon all caught fresh from the ocean sounding us. Probably some of the best seafood I've ever had.
Artyom Khizantsyan
Friendly staff, good seafood!
Counter order, with staff bringing the food to your table.
High quality, convenient, quick meal.
Michael Buser
Fish tacos were great! Their $6 happy hour Mai Tais were amazing and strong! Definitely a great lunch place!
Brett Valentine
Wow, best meal we had in Hawaii. Great fast service. Great concept. Fast line, lots of seating. And really substantial portions! Not cheap, but dollar for dollar the best deal. And the food was legitimately great seafood!
Also (and I know this a bit of a rant...), this was the first restaurant with nice and polite employees. It's the first restaurant we went to in Hawaii where people didn't seem to have a chip on their shoulder.
Florian Parungao
Excellent. Really fresh fish. Cooked to perfection. Loved the food and the price. Will definitely go back on our next Hawaiian visit.
John Saccomando
This is my absolute favorite place for lunch in Oahu, and that's saying something because I will even brave the tourists to go here. The blackened snapper is to die for. You can't go wrong for a fresh, healthy option for a good price.
Cadu Monteiro
This place is a MUST when coming to Oahu!
Came here before COVID and I'm so happy to see they're still thriving! Amazing food, service and drinks - they make a superb passion fruit margarita!
See you guys soon! Muito obrigado!
Edit: had to go back before leaving. I dare say this is my favorite restaurant in Hawaii!
Jordan S
The food here is outstanding. I got the blackened Maui Maui plate… probably some of the best fish I have ever had. This place is a must when vacationing in Waikiki.
Staff was very helpful and friendly as well.
Maiko J I
When you want a healthy meal option, this place is the one.
Fish is very fresh and tasty, not overcooked or overseasoned. I wish I had known this place earlier! Definitely my favourite in Waikiki. Will visit again!
Sinisa Jokic
Whouuuu!!!! Good and affordable fish dish selection! If you are there between 3pm and 6pm you will catch really good happy hour margaritas
Ha Dong
Friendly staff, fresh fish and great drinks too. It long line but it worth it.
STEWART OBRIEN
Happy hour to six and great portions at reasonable prices great staff and well just brilliant for waikiki yep it's well worth the visit and great great value
Daniel Lukose
First time in the city and found this place. Had to wait for 15 minutes but it was worth it. Mahi Mahi was so good.
Chari Quiambao
You order your food at counter and then you ar given a number to take to your table. A staff member brings the food to your table. Silverware, condiments, and napkins are at the table. The fish was good asbwell as the sides that come with. Unfortunately, they overcook the fish. There's probably better places that can cook the fish a little better for the price.
BuBBa hONg
Juicy blackened mahi; perfectly cooked cocktail shrimp; flavorful home fries; crispy fish and chips; tasty chunk style cole slaw; ok chowder; HH 3-6
K c
One our absolute favorite places to eat in Waikiki. Seafood is fresh and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend the seared Ahi with the rice and home potatoes.
Andrea Ran
The line was super long! I ordered sauteed ono with fries. Food was not bad, but it tasted dry, plus the flavor didn't go inside the fish.
shereen ghozzy
We chose the fish platters Ahi,Ono,Salmon with Cajun rice and Cajun style. Taste were excellent as well as plate size
Daniel Lynch
The fish tacos where fine but, the restaurant seems to be artificially inflating the line in front of their shop to increase foot traffic due to FOMO. Only half of the tables were full and the line in the restaurant was only half full but there was still a 30ft line out the door. This was even more apparent when the guy behind me decided to order takeout and got it while I had only made it half way in the line
Ann Ko
Ordered chicken plate and fish salad. Salad was really fresh and the price was reasonable! Id love to go back :)
Jenn Haviland
If you love fresh seafood, this is your place!! I had the shrimp taco, fish taco, and the deep fried calamari!!! Best Fresh seafood I have ever had!!!!
Meatball Nguyen
If you are Italian do not order the chicken pasta, not good. Clam chowder is really bad too, strange coming from a seafood restaurant but then again we are pretty far from New England so do not expect good chowder.
Carmine Alfano
Really, really good. Went two nights in a row.
Shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and fish plate (snapper) were all exceptional.
Get the half/half rice and potatoes, as both are flavourful.
Shamella Hanoomansingh
The fish was fresh. Portion size was very generous. I came from Orlando Florida to just to eat here again. Beautiful seating outdoor.
Madison
This place is so delicious! Love the ordering experience, the employees are all so efficient and ready for the lines of people. Definitely recommend eating here!
Nick Tsatsalmas
Very efficiently organized. The line is going very fast. The food is very good and for a decent price. We tried the clam chowder and seafood salad with Mahi and were both very good.
Eva
Lunch plate comes with salad and I don't really care for it had some kind of ranch sauce, fries were way too salty, rice was below average, and the homemade fries were not to my liking, salmon was eh but the snapper grilled was really good. Over $50 for 2 people not including tip. Only reason it's 3 stars and not 2 is because the snapper was delicious
Kim Chi Nguyen
Food was good but I wouldn’t line up for an hour to eat 😅
Elyse Nelson
Absolutely obsessed with this place. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Flavors on point. Try the Blackened Mahi Mahi 😍 …
Nicole Anthony
If you’re looking for amazing drinks, great food with amazing drinks, (at an affordable price too which is rare in Waikiki!) Paia needs to be a place you eat…and maybe more than once. I was born on the island and know a good place with a good vibe. 🤙🏼
My husband and I recently got married on the island and spent a week in Waikiki. We went to Paia’s almost every day and even went after we eloped in our wedding gear.
Their food is fantastic, but what kept us coming back were the ladies at the bar and their drinks. (Why is no one talking about the drinks here??)They’re delicious and well crafted. My personal favorite was the lilikoi margarita with a sugar rim (yum!) or a Blue Hawaii. The ladies at the bar became our ohana-family during the week and treated us as such.
We love everything about this place but we want to especially thank Zuki, Syd, and Malu. You made our week so special and I just love everything about you all! Mahalo 🤙🏼
Corrine Thompson
After reading the reviews we decided to have dinner here tonight, my husband had the mahi-mahi fish special grilled and I had the shrimp tacos, both with home fries. We were there just before 5 PM the service was quick and the food was delicious! You order and pay first, so I didn’t leave a tip at first and after dinner I went back and left a nice tip. Good size portions so also great for sharing!
K L G
Had a fish sandwich (charbroiled burger) which was an Ono filet. Very tasty. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
Forrest
Best restaurant in wakiki! some of the best fish I've had, 10/10 would recommend! we ordered the seafood pasta, mahi mahi catch plate w fries, onion rings and a side salad, ALL SO GOOD! i never knew seafood pasta could be good. just go!
Cullen Scott
Very fast service. Order at counter food delivered to your table. Blackened mahi-mahi was outstanding.
Flaw Less
The salmon was great. Fresh, flavorful and flakey. Seasoned well. The french fries were good too.
Cham Tang
Omg this place is excellent! We had 3 fish dishes, all great, especially the fish finger looking things which were surprisingly meaty and tasty. See my photos!
Patrick Fox
Put down your phone and get to this restaurant. Casual atmosphere with an ordering process similar to many fast casual restaurants. Wait in a line to order your food, receive a placard with your order number and place it at your table, a server will deliver your food. The food is exceptional, especially the platters where you select fish, how you'd like it prepared ( grilled, with garlic and shrimp, Cajun, or blackened), and your choice of side ( rice, potatoes, or a combo of both). Cole slaw is included with all orders. I tried the Mahi Mahi and opah, and the fish was perfectly prepared and a large portion (8oz, with 6oz portion option available for $1 less). I enjoyed it so much that I ate there three times during my three day stay in Waikiki. You simply cannot go wrong with Paia's.
Marta Flores
We ate here 3 times while we were in Honolulu. Food was excellent. Fresh fish made how you like it. Order the home potatoes. Delicious!!
Eric Grossmeyer
really great. If you love seafood, this is your place! Long line when we were there, but it moved pretty quick.
Megan Hoy
I wanted to try a fresh catch plate, but the cashier warned me it would be too much for one person. So instead, I went with her recommendation and ordered the blackened mahi on a Caesar salad. The fish was tender, packed with flavour, and was the perfect serving size (5oz) for dinner. Went at 5:15pm and there was no line and the food was brought to the table quickly. A line slowly started to form as we left around 6pm, and by 7pm there is usually a line out the door. Next time I'll be back to try a fresh catch plate!
Jax Hearne
Pretty good. Solid seafood. I got Cajun snapper and my husband got blackened mahi. They tasted about the same.
Jenny Lee
Tasty fish and sides! The seafood pasta was good too
Moji PSX
Expensive and super busy but worth everything.
Jeanele Bolder
Everything was fantastic!!! I got the Blackened Ono with Home Fries and I will definitely miss it when I go back home. I was especially impressed by the service as they made suggestions (a great one at that) and friendly!!!
J Stoltz
The BEST blackened Mahi salad on the planet! The tartar sauce is what dreams are made of! Get the green garden salad. I used to work night security at the place when it was the Coral Reef Hotel! Crazy how it's all changed.
Abhi
Cajun spiced Ono was delicious. It was a little bit on drier side but that’s how Ono is. I wish they had Opah.
Traci DuCloux
I don’t like seafood but their menus has a large selection! It was a beautiful and tasty experience!
Frank Cortez
Great fresh fish!!!! Delicious snapper and that tartar sauce - wow. Mandy is amazing and very knowledgeable!
Dinah W
The line was extremely long but worth it! The service was great and the staff was very friendly. The food was hot and fresh. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!
Patricia Callaghan
Delicious & flavorful meal. I would order the Blackened Cajun Mahi Mahi again! Friendly service. 💕
Joanna C
Portions were large and shrimp taco was delicious. They also have a fantastic deal of $7 for a beer and a taco.
Robert Monahan
Very good selection of seafood and beers on tap. Great customer service and large about amount of seating available.
Hanshi.Nancy Wu
Nicely char fish 🐟 with rice 🌾 and potatoes 🥔 …
Greg
Great place to eat! Staff is friendly although they can be tired and less enthusiastic at times. But overall they’re respectful and courteous to their customers. Great establishment, however, they need to do a better job of making sure customers are not blocking the walkway to the exit doors having extended conversations.
Kim Suh
You definitely get your moneys worth here. Highly recommend!
Jung O
Delicious! Generous portions. We tried the seafood salad, fish tacos, fish plate and onion rings. All of it was really good. Best deal in Waikiki. Large portions of fish on the salad and plate. Friendly service. This is a counter service restaurant- order at the counter, find a table and they will bring your food to you.
Chrysalis Travel
We are thriled to see Paia Fish Market open here in Waikiki!! Absolutely loved it!!
We have been huge fans of the original Paia Fish Market in Paia, Maui for 17 years. Then, we have loved their newer locations in Kihei and Lahaina. They are our absolute favorite places to eat on Maui.
Well, this newest sister restaurant lives up to the name. They serve up the same fresh ono (delicious) fish burgers as on Maui. All for a great price.
Enjoy a fast casual atmosphere, and some of the best fish on the island. Ask for the 'obama burger' (an off menu special). Enjoy the surf photography decor.
We dream of Paia Fish Market on Maui.... literally could eat there every day. Now we have another chance to get our Paia Fish Market fix...in Waikiki.
Park at the International Marketplace for convenience (you'll need to get validation in the IM).
Todd L.
Good food, atmosphere, and service. Shrimp tacos were excellent but the sides of cole slaw and home fries were nothing special. Good price to portion ratio by Waikiki standards.
Natalya Slobodenko
Online ordering doesn't work, call to order pick-up.
We had an Ono Burger, and Sautéed Salmon with Cajun rice. They were both good but next time we would both get different fish. The Ono was a bit tough, and salmon was salmon. Service is very good though, didn't have to stand in the super long time to order take-out, there's a separate line for take-out orders :)
Sarah Enwright
Great simple fish place. The line went fast, food was good and the bartender made a great margarita.
Vince Mulcahy
Worth the wait, just expect to wait. Line moves pretty quickly.
Food was really well done. A lot of options for how to cook that fish!
Colleen Toguchi
So yummy! Got a refreshing Caesar salad with blacken salmon. They add two shrimp and Tatar sauce too! They keep it very clean and it was a cool step out of traffic and lots of people to enjoy lunch. Long line that took about 20min but worth it.
Timothy Van Housen
Excellent food served fast. Had to eat the a few nights while on a week's vacation. Recommend highly.
Tracy Fease
Ona and Opah are super fresh and delicious. We were so impressed we went back for another dinner. Friendly service. Don't worry about the wait, they are super fast and seating works. They know what they are doing. Their home made tarter sauce tops off their fresh fish burgers perfectly.
Ted Anderson
It was busy on a Sunday night, but the staff was super friendly despite the large rush. I ordered the Mahi burger with fries. It was delicious and a good portion for a big eater. The food came out very quickly, too. I'm adding this to my list of places to eat when I'm in Waikiki!
Vincent Randy Heslop
This place rocks! Portions and quality of food are outstanding! A must stop when in Honolulu.
WillP
The food was great. Service was ok.
Missy M.
You have to order your food first before sitting. The inside smells a little funky. It might just be the fish. They do have outside seating. It is not wheelchair or baby stroller friendly so just FYI. There isn't a lot of variety in food choice. The wait took a while. We ended up leaving. Will have to come back another time to actually try the food when the wait isn't so crazy.
Al La
If you want excellent, non-chain, fish lunch...this is well worth a visit. Very tasty and the staff are very friendly - mahalo!
Cory Feil
Perfect lunch location. I'm sure the dinner menu items are great as well.
Yves Brunet
Amazing food and great service. This is a must visit location if you're in Honolulu.
Alaina Barnes
I loved the ahi tuna. The rice was also really great. Good value for big portions.
Ruslan Kovalchuk
Freshest seafood that i ever had in the US! Awesome please highly recommend
Carla
Really wasn't the experience we were looking for. It was our last night in waikiki and the line was super slow. You think you're getting closer but then you go around the corner and there was another 30 people in front of you.
The food did come out super fast though and was nice tasting.
The atmosphere feels like a high school cafeteria. They also wouldn't let my toddler and I sit until we had ordered which meant we were always in the way of people and staff, such a silly rule.
No music just loud chatter.
I wouldn't recommend it if you want a special dinner with the fam
Katelyn Arthur
Absolutely delicious. Nice t-shirts too, if you're into that. It was always very busy passing by, so you will wait a while before you get to order but they cook very fast and it is so worth the wait.
Grant Atwood
Was praying that the experience here was as good as Paia fish market in Maui (the original). It did not disappoint! I absolutely love every Paia fish market I visit and one day, I went here twice. The Mahi Mahi Cajun style is my favourite dish and the shrimp is really good too. Don't forget to ask for the special sauce. 10 out of 10, do not debate where to go any further - this is it! A must visit!

Awesome fresh fish! Been to the Maui location several times and glad to report the cooking here is just as good. Love the Cajun rice and tartar sauce that comes with the fish. So good that I’m planning on coming back for lunch again tomorrow!

Good food, not excellent, but good. This place came so highly recommended it was bound to fail…..and it did. I definitely preferred the fish at Monkeypod. Still a solid choice. I am a huge devotee of fish and chips….don’t get cute with those. What you made was interesting, but it wasn’t fish and chips. Very disappointing for me.

I actually visit PAIA three times… it is super yummy. Highly recommend Ahi medium rare.
Steph Scragg
Fish amazing. My partner who strongly dislikes fish even enjoyed the Blackened Ahi. Worth the 20 minute wait in line. Also, Olivia the bartender deserves a pay rise (regardless what she’s already on), exemplary service (not just for us, but every customer she served. We were sitting next to the bar so can confirm), quite literally went out of her way for us, AND amazing cocktails.

Outstandingly delicious. Big portions. Nice friendly staff and above all FRESH

Worth waiting in the line (it moves quick) this place is an absolute gem.
It’s got a bustling street food vibe but serves delish fish dishes that you customize made to order. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Waikiki or Paia on Maui.

Good sized portions for the price, fish was fresh and good. I'll be going back to try all the different fish and prep styles!

I've been here 3 times in week. Hear me out! I'm from small island in Pacific. I've had fish all my life, fish em, cook em have em for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This guys don't put out what I've had all my life but they come close, real close! Lol. This pic shows a grilled opakakapa [grays snapper, related to the red snapper which my childhood favorite fish] I'm not into the deep water fish like mahi or tuna. I'm more of shallow water fish or reef fish as we known for. It can get very pricey getting fish here in Hawaii compared to my home place, however I'm willing to pay that price if the place knows how to handle the fish right. My opakakapa came out moist, not over cooked. The rice cajun rice complaint the grilled opakakapa. Squeezed lemon over it and have it with glass of beer. Winer winer fish dinner! Hahaha. Give a try! It's not store bought or Long John Silver. 😂👍🤙😋

Fish tacos are amazing. The photo is of the two taco plate ($13?) - a great value for Waikiki!!

Excellent food. Will come back soon

The food is soo good fresh and yummy .. shrimps and Mahi Mahi are so delicious.. garden salad and onion rings 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 …
Thomas Costanzo
We lucked out because they had opah the night we were there. Cooked to perfection. Also had some really good fried shrimp and fries. Very casual place.

The wait is absolutely awful and the food is decent which makes the wait not worth it. The seafood pasta and salad was okay. I would try to get dinner elsewhere if the line is out the door.
Timolyn Gilbert
The food at Paia Fish Market Waikiki is wonderful! My first day as a tourist I had the Red Snapper with rice and potatoes and it was the best Red Snapper I’ve ever had prepared at a restaurant.
Steve DelCasino
Best piece of fish I've ever eaten.
Ono blackened was fantastic as was the mahi, and blackened tuna sashimi. Their salsa for the quesadilla was surprisingly awesome. Slaw was chefs kiss and the rice will leave me wanted more! Staff is kind and efficient and accommodating.
Chingmay Wang
Ordered Ahi and snapper fish.
Snapper was over cooked, too dry.
A little disappointed from my part.

Some of the best fish I have had in my life we shared charbroil snapper and blackend mahi mahi so good 👍
Grace Hanley Wright
Oh my gosh, this food was delicious! My husband and I split two dishes and both were wonderful.
Caroline Martel
This was one of our favorite spots in Honolulu! Delicious food and friendly staff. Huge portions for the price.
Bill Walther
Awesome fish and chips
Alexandra Sferle
Super fresh fish, very well cooked, great sides and friendly staff. I would eat here everyday!
Ryan Welch
The fish is amazing and always fresh.

Cajun rice and grilled mahi mahi is delicious. Presentation is perfect. So good.....so happy with the food
Michael Pierron
I just had open heart surgery a week ago and this was the first place I was able to walk to. The staff was so accommodating to situation and dietary restrictions. Mahi was on point. I love you guys!!

Food was great so great that I went 3 times during my vacation in Hawaii salmon, snapper blackened
I really recommend this place people are really friendly!!!
Robin Hed
Fun spot. The lines were long, but totally worth the wait. Fresh, fresh food. So delicious!
Alma Rosa Reed
Fresh and delicious food - we had the blackened mahi mahi and blackened ono and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Great customer service and nice vibe! Definitely recommend!
Whitney Straw Turney
Try the Opah - Best blackened fish I've ever had
Fish and chips are amazing as well.
We ate here and the one in Kihei Maui. So good!
David Behbahani
Good food, good service. The prices are fair and they give you a good portion. The line however can get very long, i do recommend it.
Harrison Harvey
Awesome. Crushed it. Beat the rush, go for lunch. Same menu for both. Pricey, but delish.
Olympia Ming
Worth waiting in line! They are so efficient with the line, ordering, table seating and delivering your food. My family was a party of 14 - we all Loved every dish we ordered, even the kids. Definitely would go back when visiting the island again.
Rachel Campbell
Ate here several times while staying nearby. Excellent fish, loved the slaw, the price was comparable for the area. We tried to go at "off" hours so the wait wouldn't be so long. Be warned, they don't take online orders and only do phone orders not during busy times.
Debbie O'Shea
I ate here today alone while my husband was in a meeting, and it was the perfect atmosphere for one. The fish was unbelievably fresh and well prepared, and the staff was very nice. Lovely spot.
Brice Bryant
This is our FAVORITE restaurant. We loved this location. The hospitality is great. Everyone here is very nice and genuinely serves each customer. The food is perfect! I personally love the Ono Fish! Check out the Maui location because it's great as well!
Timothy Street
Fun and busy. Great fresh seafood. Drink menu is thin and lacking decent alcohol. But few people would notice that. The food quality more than makes up for it and makes this a must try for seafood from the area.
Megan Dainard
You need to go here. Very friendly staff! Order the seafood pasta. 10/10
Brittany Marie
Amazing fish! Great flavour and great customer service!
Jennifer Laing
Got the blackened snapper with potatoes and rice, and sampled my girlfriend's seafood pasta. The seafood was fresh and cooked beautifully. It was delicious, the food came out quick, thus the line moved pretty fast as well. Suggest getting there before the 6pm dinner rush because they do not make reservations and seating is first come first serve. They also have some local beers on tap which pair perfectly with the meal! This was my favorite restaurant in Waikiki.
Becky Nicholson
There was a pretty long wait at dinnertime, but it was worth it! You order food takeout style then find a table inside. The fish (I got charbroiled ono) was perfectly cooked. The drinks are also tasty, I recommend the liliko'i margarita!
Ramona Olson
Absolutely phenomenal service. The food was amazing but the service blow it out of the water. The two guys walking around bringing food snd cleaning the tables were the hardest working people I have ever seen in a restaurant setting ( and I have been to many many restaurants- including high end ones). Those boys deserve all the praise they can get. Truly amazing. Highly recommend this place. Worth the wait.
Lorri Peltz-Lewis
We had the pleasure of eating here in Kihei and Honolulu and we are happy to say the quality was outstanding at both locations. The fish tacos are delish and the fish plates excellent. We would not hesitate coming back to this many times in our future visits!
Alona Parkhomenko
Good food, reasonable price.
Blackened mahi mahi and deep fried shrimps were nice.
Michael Tucker
Great fish market serving up fantastic flavors. The service was incredibly fast and food was delightful. The fish and chips were very good. Ice cold beers. Heading back for some of their fish burgers, maybe the seafood pasta. Both looked great.
Thomas Azzopardi
When I arrived there was a fairly long line that I joined at the bottom of the stairs. I was considering going somewhere else but ended up visiting with the folks in front of me. That helped pass the time. Before you know it I was inside and placing my order. The way this place works is you order at counter and pay then you find a table and your food will be brought out to you. That was not comfortable for me but soon I forgot about any issue I had with waiting and the order process. The meal was placed in front of me and I began to eat it OMG this place sure knows how to feed you. I want to try everything now. Worth the wait for sure.
Raj Jayaram
Tasty and Delicious food.
Hakan Kara
Waiting line for dinner is a mess, and frustrating. Yet it's worth it. We had calamari, onion ring, charbroiled mahi mahi and ahi platter. They were all good. It's the best food I had in Honolulu so far.
Alcides Vargas
Some of the best fish I’ve ever had in my life. We visited 3 times in Maui and a couple of time is Waikiki. The service is great and food spectacular. Best overall place to eat in Hawaii. Very casual ambiance. You order at the register and food is brought to your table. They also have a great happy hour at the Waikiki location from 3-6. Good drinks awesome bartender.
Elliot Aquila
We heard great things about Paia from friends, but we didn’t realize HOW GOOD it actually is. We had a whole list of places to eat, and we kept going back.
It’s like that scene from the Sopranos where Tony and Carmella keep craving the sushi join. We’d be halfway through our day and we’d say “it’s crazy, but I just want to eat at Paia again!”
So we did! Hands down award for most times eat at the same restaurant goes to Paia Fish Market!
We. Will. Be. Back.
Thank you!!!!!!
Rachel Johnson
I grew up on Maui so I was very happy to see a Paia Fish Market in Waikiki. Tastes just like I remembered it, super tasty fish. The long line moves quickly and the servers were all very nice.
Daniele Giusto
Very good seafood. No reservations, just line outside
Viviana Corella
Been to this place so many times and this one didn’t disappoint. Had the mahi burger with fries and it was great. My only thing is I never get to go when there’s Opah.
