Reviews of Fête

Overall - This space deserves the 5 stars! Great food, exceptional service, delightful atmosphere and yummy cocktails
Food - The Korean Chicken sandwich was my favorite. Although the sauce did make the bottom bun a little soggy, it was well worth the mess! The Carbonara was warming and the prawns we a tad spicy but still delicious.
Drinks - They don’t have regular soda products and make everything in house so it’s a true craft cocktail experience. The old fashioned was incredible and so was the martini.
Atmosphere - Charming, quaint, intimate, and a time capsule into the past. If you know China Town, it’s run down, dirty, homeless scattered throughout, and limited parking. This place seems to be the beginning of a revitalization of the neighborhood.
Staff - Our server was professional and knowledgeable and we also had the chance to talk with a number of staff members that came to check on us, take out dishes and refill drinks. Superb!

Our food was so very good. We also got the cheese tray not pictured here. My ranch Korean with rice and beef was over the top delicious! The only thing bad was my husband's veal weinershnitzetl was a tad overcooked but the flavor was still good. Recommend making a reservation otherwise good luck. Will definitely be going back

From start to finish, a great experience. We had reservations at the bar, with the Maestro, Fabrice. His title is 100% deserving. He described in great detail the nightly specials, made amazing cocktails, and was very wonderful overall. We felt welcomed and were never rushed, allowing us to savor each bite. This is our new favorite restaurant, and we can't wait to return!
Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. This is a very intimately sized restaurant, and I'd hate for you not to get a table.

We had an amazing lunch! The drinks and food were great. The crispy chicken with the Caesar salad was so delicious!! Our server Bianca was super helpful and knowledgeable with her recommendations. I would absolutely plan to go back whenever in the area!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local, and it was spot on the best meal we ate all week. Kevin was our waiter and he was fantastic, knowledgeable and made our experience great! I highly recommend the rocky road ice cream:)

This is my go to spot when I’m on the Chinatown area. Great tasting “Quality” food, zee best service, paired with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Details and quality is what I pay attention too, the tables, chairs, silver and dish ware are from France. The steak knives are handcrafted by an artisan in France, who makes every knife by hand. Enjoy often, quality locally produced is a huge reason why I always eat here. It does get busy so reservations are recommended

Really cool, almost French bistro looking/feel bistro in the heart of Honolulu. Service was harried, but the food more than made up for it. Highly recommended. Priced right, decent portions. Good burgers and something on the menu for everyone
Valerie Brown
Absolutely lovely experience with a fantastic waitress! Servings are large, so keep that in mind when choosing apps! We got a steak Caesar salad and a special appetizer, both of which filled the two of us up, prior to our entrees! The food is wonderful, the ambiance is homey, and all around we had a delightful, very filling experience. I highly recommend it!

Wasn't sure what to expect before coming here, but it was the best meal we had in Honolulu. The taste, presentation and portion are all right on, unpretentious but packed with flavor. Price felt almost cheap for the quality of the food compared to other ridiculously overpriced fare in Wakiki. Highly recommend a visit. The atmosphere is intimate and lively, they accommodated my 2.5 years old toddler with no issues. The server was attentive but not overbearing. The beet salad and fresh fish were standouts. Wish we had room to try the desserts!

This place was amazing! We enjoyed every dish we had. One of the best features of this restaurant is the fact that everyrhing is locally sourced. All dishes were made in house, even the sodas! (FYI do not ask for a regular soda like coke or pepsi you will not find it here and the servers frown on it) I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was off the hooka My wife really enjoyed her quinoa burger. For desert I had the Rocky Road ice cream which is made in house (including the marshmallows!) and it was unbelievable. We were able to get reservations in the middle of the day so keep in mind that by 5pm on this place gets booked out so plan ahead. I highly recomend eating here!

Went for date night, got there early around 5, street parking and also parking lots within 2 blocks. Wait staff was excellent, got seated right away. Within an hour the place filled up pretty quick. We placed our drink order, wife had the spicy kitty, (cute little backless cup) fantastic, I had the Kunia old fashioned another great drink. Then we ordered the special deviled eggs, it was pretty awesome eggs on eggs. After our appetizer we order the specials Mahi-mahi and veal, nether were on the menu which changes frequently but these were both amazing. Once we finished dinner we decided to get some filling desert. We had the Olive oil cake with vanilla ice cream (housemade) recommended by a patron next to us, definitely worth it and will be back just for coffee and olive cake, we also ordered the special the banana tiramisu, this was a little different and seamed that the consistency was too thick heavy and dense.

A splendid spot for dinner or any other meals they serve. Service was prompt and delightful, we actually sat next to the kitchen and had a great time. I imagine that’s not everyone’s cup of tea but the place isn’t huge. It’s lively but not too much so; and feels like Brooklyn somehow. I think they’re going for this vibe. Lots of brick involved.
The food is delicious and affordably priced considering how thoughtful the preparations are. Having watched the chefs make literally dozens of dishes I can tell you they take it very seriously and never stopped working hard for the 2 hours we sat there watching. It’s amazing how they turned relatively simple preparations into very tasty combinations.
Rich sauces, well prepared meats, and delightful seafood were highlights of the Fete experience. Their prawns were legendary. These perhaps are the worst value per plate, but a little seasoned rice as a side brings the dish to completion. I would change this by including the rice or other sides and fleshing out the dish. Otherwise I think you could maybe get away with many of the entrees as large tapas type deals? It’s a mix. Anyways that’s why it’s a good value and you won’t overeat, but don’t expect heaping portions. This is about good high quality sustainable food and they totally deliver on that.

We had lunch here during our vacation in June. We did not book and luckily a table became available within 5 minutes. The food was delicious and there were loads of options on the menu. Our server was excellent, informative and fun. The total price was very good value compared to other meals we had in Oahu.
Would strongly recommend this place

A great cozy place to have a nice casual divert with some friends. The standout appetizer would be the special chicken liver mousse. The steak tartare and Basil Caesar salad were also good. The Korean Bavette was cooked perfectly as well as the twice-fried chicken. The JP's Risotto had a lot of flavor and great texture. We ended the meal with the Lilikoi cheese flan. Overall, everything was great.

This was EASILY the best meal we had in Honolulu (on vacation from LA). We were recommended to try this place by a friend who lives in town plus discovered its write up in the New York Times after googling, so we were fairly confident going in but STILL! So so good.
We started with the spreads, which were delicious, and drinks. Naturally had to get the “Spicy Kitty” marg when I saw it came in a ceramic cat. We split the Korean Bavette (steak) and the spaghetti carbonara. Both were so good — the steak was deliciously marinated and came with a garlic fried rice, runny egg and a Korean slaw. It was a perfect dish, complex flavors and still somehow so simple and tasty. The pasta was also amazing - rich, filling and great comfort food. We ended with the chocolate cake + vanilla ice cream, which was, you guessed it, delicious! Definitely would return.

Such an amazing meal and dining experience! Came here to celebrate my partner's birthday. Our server, Taryn(?) Was warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food. We shared two starters and a main. The beet and avocado salad, hawaiian breadfruit with crispy okra, and pork ragu. Even though we were stuffed after, we split the strawberry fennel sorbet. Everything we had was so creative and perfectly seasoned and cooked.

The nicest staff, the coolest ambiance and the best food. Home run, Fete! We loved our appetizers, ordered all the specials, beet salad, coconut shrimp (did prefer and adore the main shrimp dish, some of the best prepared shrimp I’ve ever had!), chicken liver pâté, then had Korean bavette (flank steak, medium rare came pretty rare in parts), and also veal schnitzel (it’s fried and huge, was a bit unexpected but enjoyed!). Dessert was insanely good too, chocolate mouse, and a gelato with raspberry-lychee-rose water. A block from our other favorite, pig and the lady, this is definitely a spot we want to return to!
Lexi Lariviere
Chef Robynne and Chef Emily never fail to impress with their ever changing menu and specials. I will ALWAYS recommend the carrots when they’re available. They are to die for! 🤤 there is nothing that comes out of this kitchen that isn’t mouthwatering. We’ve even had the honor to meet the chef a couple of times. The atmospheres is chic and cozy with a modern twist. A good place to grab drinks or a three course meal. And we clean our plates every time. Ps try the spicy kitty. You won’t regret it.

With our second visit under our belts, I felt it was appropriate to leave the perfect review. Each time the staff, food, and atmosphere was absolutely superb. We have gone there for many special occasions, and they always do such an amazing job to make our night something to remember. We cannot wait for our third visit!
Aprill Mersadies
Seriously phenomenal! I had the spicy kitty dri k and it does not disappoint, especially is you don't like super sweet. Had a few apps and they were goos as well. Yhe main courses were amazing. Forgot the names but really everything here from the service to the food is hands down worth trying. If I could give this place more stars I would!!!

We went here with friends and we all were excited by the menu. We were sat upstairs on a Saturday, which was quieter and better for conversation. They source almost everything locally or from neighboring islands. We started with foie gras pot stickers and while they were absolutely delicious, we couldn't get any hint of the foie gras. We also order a ton of oysters, and were excited to try them since they were grown at Kualoa. We were told they were small to medium, but they were huge. They brine them in salt for 48 hours. We wished we had ordered enough for 4 people to have three each, given their size and brine. They were okay, not the best any of us had had previously. I had a kampachi entree that was divine. Our tabled also tried the schnitzel, the portion was huge and two at our table ate all of it within minutes. They had a veal chop special, 20 ounces with the bone, which was equally delicious. Service is top notch! We can't wait to visit again and try more items.

The best food of our trip, as well as the best service. So much so that we came back five days later for one last meal. The spreads as a split appetizer was perfect, and then the pork ragu (seen here) had plenty of flavor depth and was more than filling. The Korean bavette (in the background) was cooked perfectly and the rice super flavorful without being heavy. Rocky road ice cream to share afterwards hit the spot. The bartenders were friendly and actually knew their stuff when it came to wines (French wines in particular, notable for us since we’re coming from Europe with a background in French wines). Would definitely recommend and come back to on future visits.
Soul Train
Came here for lunch after seeing all the good reviews, but maybe the table my friend and I sat at had an off day. Everything just took a long time to come to our table and seemed like they were out of some food items and drinks when we went. So if you come plan to spend some time here.
We could see the bartender make our drinks and then they were just sitting at the bar for a long while before the waitress brought them to our table. After awhile our food came out, I ordered the Korean fried chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the carbonara. The presentation for both of them were nice but they tasted like they were sitting around for awhile. My sandwich was crispy and tasted good but wasn’t hot and my fries were kinda soggy and cold. My friends carbonara noodles were a little over cooked maybe from sitting there and not being brought out right away.
With all the positive reviews I would give this place another try in the future, we just might have had an off day.

Hard to put into words how impressive it is to dine at Fete. The menu, attention to detail, kind, knowledgeable staff, wine list, the actual beauty of the food, the vibe. Great experience and can't wait to go back!
Michael Opalinski
Fête was worth the hype. The fried chicken sandwich was probably the best I've ever had, which isn't surprising given the reputation and price. The mai tai was also fantastic. The restaurant is very small, so be prepared to be pretty cramped in a loud environment. Service was stellar, everyone we talked to was great.
Jill Welch
Absolutely love this place! The food is always amazing. Love that the specials are always different. Keeps me trying something different. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
Mason “Thats Amason” Hernandez
The food and service is unmatched! As a chef, I’m very picky where I eat and this place has me coming back regularly. The quality of the ingredients is top tier and the way it’s prepared is incredible. The only thing that beats the food is the amazing service! Bianca always remembers us and makes us feel right at home every time, including our dog! I wish I had more food pics but we can hardly wait to eat haha.
Samir Ambani
Amazing restaurant with a good selection of specials and down to earth food. You have to try the chicken sandwich and the Twice Fried chicken! Don’t skip on the drinks or dessert!
Norma Stein
Remarkable food. Had the grill radicchio that was not bitter at all. I had a very authentic (no cream) well executed spaghetti carbonara and my husband had the fish special that was visually appealing and tasted so good.
M. Jay Hilano
Food taste great. Warm and friendly staff. Chef deserves the James Beard award. No words to describe how great this place is. A definite must. Ordered the today's special.

An easy to find location with good municipal parking nearby, Fete is a charming gem in Honolulu's Chinatown with a tidy menu of stellar options, most using local ingredients. My host, Assaf, recommended the Smoked Ono Club (smoked ono salad, bacon, arugula, vine-ripened tomatoes, brioche bun) and it did not disappoint. The day's special, a beet salad, looked healthy, fresh, and hearty. You can even dine outside if you're feeling brave!
Dana Baldini
Delicious food, tasty cocktails; great waitstaff and a lovely ambience. Couldn’t ask for more.

We had heard good things about Fete and made sure to make reservations to ensure we were able to get seated. This was a good move as it was pretty busy for a week night. We arrived a little early and were able to sit at the bar for a drink while we waited for our table. This was after a quick vax card and ID check. The bartender was very friendly and informative, we ordered to house mules and they were pretty good; and while not very potent up front you're left feeling a little something after it's done. After a little while we did notice someone else got seated and we thought we may have been forgotten about at the bar, so we happened to mention it to the hostess and there was a little miscommunication and it was taken care of 3 fold. The staff went above and beyond to make it right, we were very appreciative of all they did. The food was amazing, from the fritter appetizers to the main course that was amazing. Wife had Grandma Kim's Kalbi and it looked and tasted fantastic. I had the carbonara and it was delicious. Overall fantastic experience and will definitely be going back.

All the food and drinks we had were great, especially the Korean Fried Chicken Burger and the Spicy Kitty. Also the grilled carrots were yummm.... 🤤👌🏼
Brant Songsong
Food was exceptional. Whatever you do, do not pass on dessert. Their Rocky Road ice cream is phenomenal!
Tommy G
Woof! This place may be small on the inside, but it boasts exceptional food, drinks and service. I had a few different cocktails and each one was unique and quite memorable. The bread with the honey and sauces was SO good as were the rest of our entrees. The service was exceptional as well. We felt like how you should when you're at a restaurant. I recommend this place highly! Can't wait to come back.

Fete was a wonderful place to eat! Their mission of staying locally sourced is applauded, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Simply amazing, everyone needs to try their food! I had their burger, and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. Also, Shellie was a spectacular server: attentive, sociable, and knowledgeable to name a few attributes.
Definitely would recommend eating here! And ask for Shellie :)
Jeff T.
Great food and service in a fun and noisy environment. We ate and drank a range of server recommendations and it was delicious and eclectic. Kudos! Also very reasonable prices.
Marie Bowden-Lockhart
We where referred by regulars and this place is amazing! We tried this salmon special and it was delicious I had the Fete Crispy chicken salad
Chicken crispy on the outside juicy and tender on the inside made with delicious fresh greens and the sweet ginger tea was to die for! My cousin had the Fete shrimp salad and raved about it. Great food and atmosphere and service what else could we ask for.
Kaileigh Saeva
We ended up here after a series of random conversations and unfortunate events with reservations at another place, and we couldn't have been luckier! The drinks were so good, I loved the spicy kitty for looks and taste. I got the risotto which was creamy and delicious. My husband got the schnitzel special which he really enjoyed. Definitely give it a try!
Ron Onedertwin
I found Fete to be a delightful restaurant where the drinks were tasty and the food was fresh and flavorful. The price for a burger (without a side) was a bit pricey. But the ambience, service and taste offset that sticker shock. I had the chicken sandwich also as I wanted to taste a few items on the menu. The sides are large enough to share and are packed with flavor. The chicken sandwich itself was perfectly season and had a delicious sauce on it. Located adjacent to China town you can also go for a walk. Parking can be a challenge and most of it is paid parking.

I don't know why this place is so well reviewed, the food was "ok" but nothing exceptional at all. The goat cheese was so dry and so "alone" for a started. Really pricey for what you get, we ate plenty other place better for less. I will have gone somewhere else if a i knew, the menu seems to change so presume depends on when you go
Jessica Stowe
Wow wow the food here was fantastic. We were are from Chicago, so we are used to top notch food. The service was delightful (shout-out to Sara and Kevin 🤙) and that Korean BBQ chicken sandwich was excellent. We came back twice before leaving the island! Highly recommend

After more than a year, I finally returned to Fête with the visiting mother of an good friend. She's a retired professional, sharp sophisticated and well traveled. My prior experiences put Fête on my short list for dinner, and it did not disappoint.
Grilled carrots with sunchoke aioli and crisp sunchoke chips was a unique and delicious shared starter.
We had an off-the-menu uku preparation that was unique and delicious: a substantial piece of very fresh uku, reportedly from Waianae (The "West Side") via a single special Fisherperson, was perfectly cooked and resting on a bed of tender diced vegetables over a tomato coulis with streaks of creamy savory accents. A topping layer of chimichurri and charred scallions finished off this tasty moist and tender entree.
For dessert we shared an olive cake with caramelized yuzu. While a bit too sweet, the bountiful butter balanced it.
The staff were appropriately masked, and the seating arrangement nicely spaced, with even a couple of tables on the Hotel Street sidewalk for the unvaccinated decorated by festive red sunbrellas. Their online reservation/reminder system worked flawlessly.
Seated on generous and stable stools with backs at the Diamond Head end of the bar, our bartender/waiter was charming, groomed, well versed on the dishes, and attentive yet unobtrusive. His skill made our seating option fine despite my initial disappointment at not being able to face my guest. Other staff were friendly and efficient.
Parking is what it is for the area.
See you again soon, Fête!

What a wonderful recommendation our friend, Roz gave us! The Chicken Pate is the best we've ever had. LOVE!!!
Symone Mercuri
The food was fantastic.. couldn’t fault a thing
Josh our waiter was super friendly and very helpful
A must is the Rocky road ice cream
K Kao
Very average. salad was okay. pasta was okay. Kalbi was heavily flavored... tasted okay... but the meat was very tough.... and unpleasant to chew.
Derrick Pang
Food was phenomenal. I get why they won a James beard award. Hands down the best meal we've had in Oahu. Had all the specials as well as the chicken sandwich, bavette, shrimp and fresh fish. Service was superb. The one knock was eating outside there were a lot of sketchy folks walking by. Definitely a vibe there. But we chose to eat outside. But just be aware if you don't want indoor dining. If you're in Hawaii this is a must eat place.
L’ Angloy
Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Honolulu. Worth getting out of touristy Waikiki to explore the arts district and eat at Fête. We decided to eat here last minute even though we've had it on our radar for years...it was well worth it. The Ono Club Sandwich was amazing! The burger was excellent!
arafat hossain
We could not have picked a better spot for our anniversary in Honolulu. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food is fantastic. It could be that the staff was on top of the world with a James Beard nomination the week we were there. Got notification a few days days ago that they won for Best Chef on Pacific Rim!! Congratulations and well-deserved! Even the lowly green bean is elevated to the sublime here. Bespoke drinks with local ingredients are not to be missed.
David Vinca
Amazing food get the Korean Babette and the spaghetti carbonara and yummy cocktails. Spicy kitty is the most masculine of the lot;).

Delicious!!!
I will encourage people visiting to explore the city and visit local places with a rich culinary experience that cares about supporting local producers

𝗙𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝗶 (𝟲/𝟭𝟬 🌟)
🔹𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸: (𝟲 🌟) It's been a while since we've been to Fête. When we saw they won a James Beard Award we decided to give them another try. Sadly we thought the food was below average at best. 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 $𝟮𝟳 was decent. The beef was cooked properly and had a nice Kalbi style flavor. My wife liked the Korean Pear Slaw. The fried rice however was a fail. The rice kernals were very hard and almost inedible. 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝘂𝗱𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 $𝟮𝟴 was highly recommended by our server. Unfortunately it was a huge letdown. The flavorless batter was so thick it fell off in slabs when I tried to cut the chicken. The tomato jam tasted like reduced tomatoes and water. I honestly would've preferred ketchup over the jam. 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗲 $𝟭𝟳 was a weird dish. The texture was a bit rubbery. Not sure why there was a bunch of salt thrown on it. It made for some salty bites. 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼 $𝟭𝟯 was ok. Not much seafood other than fish in there though. 𝗙𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝟳𝟱 $𝟭𝟮 & 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 $𝟭𝟲 was a mixed bag. The Fête 75 was nice and refreshing. The Kunia Old Fashioned was unpleasant. It had a weird mouth feel to it. Hard to explain but it wasn't good.
.
🔹𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 & 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: (𝟲 🌟) Service wasn't the best. We sat for several minutes before anyone approached. Our server was friendly though. It was a hot day and the air conditioning wasn't adequate. It's also a small restaurant so the tables are very close to each other.
.
🔹𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁: Not recommended. We were torn about posting this review. We were happy a local restaurant won such a prestigious award and were hoping to sing their praises. Unfortunately we left totally disappointed and our page is about posting our honest opinions. We wish them the best of luck but don't see ourselves being back anytime soon.

Definitely a Jewel!
A very amazing restaurant, definitely worth a trip to come.
The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable.
Our food was delicious. Everything we ordered came out fresh and hot. Perfectly cooked. The food is definitely inventive and well made.
I recommend the spicy kitty and the olive oil cake!

Came here with a friend before a show at the Hawaii theatre. Been here a few times before and it’s always good. Had some of the specials and the Korean Bavette.
Sarah Kimbro
Loved this casual dinner spot! The Chicken Liver Mousse was out of this world, the chicken special they had that night (topped with foie gras) was seriously some of the best chicken I've ever had, and the Linguitini Carbonara was very good and filling. The area around the restaurant is a little sketchy at night so I don't recommend sitting outside or walking around after dinner.
Jun
amazing food and cocktails, biggest wine list (according to someone who used to work there)!!

We went for lunch on a weekday. It’s a cute restaurant, but very loud and the tables are tiny.
The food was good. We had the fete spreads appetizer (delicious!); fete salad w crispy chicken added (way too much dressing = soggy, the chicken was great); and a daily special.
It seemed understaffed. The manager was helping to deliver food and we had to ask multiple times for refills, the check, etc. Our server was running around the whole time, so our service experience wasn’t good.
Kelly K
Everything at this restaurant was just perfect. The service, the ambience, and mostly the food. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

5 of us came for dinner. We ordered total 7 entrees. 2 entrees were on daily special menu. Food portion is SMALL.
Food and service were good. We made reservation ahead of time;otherwise it would be a long wait during dinner time.
I brought a bottle of wine to share. 2 persons in our group do not drink. Corkage fee is $30.
Beau LeBlanc
Terrific food, cocktails, and service at a very reasonable price! Best dining experience we had during our trip to Honolulu. Compares well to high-level restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, etc. Sorry for inelegant photos, but I was busy chowing down and drinking too much.

Great dinner option when visiting Oahu. Had the Korean hangar steak and twice dried chicken and both are executed well with quality ingredients you can taste. Also had the chumley and philanderer drinks, and both are tasty, on the slightly sweeter side. Highly recommended for those getting a bit tired of the more traditional Hawaiian fare.
Danielle Morris
Absolutely phenomenal. Make your reservations now before your next Oahu visit, it's worth it!

An impromptu stop in Honolulu that became so worth it because of Fete!
The Hawaiian prawns (added to the Cesar salad) were absolutely butter and divine, the beets had a heavenly nut pesto cream, and the Korean chicken sandwich had the perfect omami! Thank god we had space for the olive oil cake and some great homemade vanilla gelato, they were on spot and a delightful ending to our quick Honolulu layover. Wow! Don’t think twice, just do it. Actually, do Honolulu just for Fete. Thank you guys!
Victoria E.
Stumbled upon this place, and it was INCREDIBLE. Our server, (Bianca, I think?), was absolutely incredible, the space is charming and the food... outstanding. If Fête does not have a Michelin star, it should! I will tell everyone that if you're in the area, it is a must to stop in at Fête.
chad rah
Enjoyed all the food that was ordered, non alcoholic drink, Basil Caesar, Fête Spreads, Coconut Kaua’i Prawns (ate heads 'n' all) and Rocky Road Ice cream with Raspberry Sorbet, everything was lovely. The food all fresh with the best ingredients used. Definitely will repeat.

Beautiful spot, amazing staff and the food...words can't do the food justice. The whole experience was a great way to celebrate with my partner.
We had no issues in making reservations; infact, we arrived early and they were completely okay with seating us.
It was a tad loud inside, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a grand time, so it certainly wasn't off-putting.
The staff was top notch! Our server was prompt and helpful, ready to make some great suggestions and entertaining us with anecdotes about the restaurant and chef. Beyond our server, the other staff was always quick to help other tables and we saw many of them being as engaging with other tables as with their own.
If we lived near, we would certainly be regulars!

We enjoyed everything especially Fete spread and Kea’au Lamb Sausage.
It was at lunch time so it was very busy, you would expect slower service during the weekday.
Highly recommend this place especially if you are tired of plate lunches and takeouts.

Had a great dinner here while vacationing in Oahu. We had the Fete Spreads, Fete Salad, Fried Chicken, & the grilled Raddichio special. Everything was super delicious and it was nice to have such vegetable forward options. They also had a great cocktail & wine list, but they also had mocktails and a house made soda that were all stellar. I really appreciate a restaurant that puts effort into non-alcoholic drinks as it’s a step above and beyond.
Thomas Schweizer
Dining at fête was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious (make sure to consider the specials of the day!) and the hosts were the most friendly and professional. Definitely recommend to eat there if you’re in Honolulu!
Our most sincere thanks to our host, Taran, who was exceptionally attentive and friendly <3
Carlyle Handley
Great ambiance, however dishes are hit or miss. Appetizers & cocktails are fantastic, however the entrees are unspectacular and a bit run of the mill. Suggest hitting up this spot for starters and tasty drinks at the beginning of the night and another establishment with fantastic entrees elsewhere in downtown Honolulu for dinner. Service is great, very accommodating.

We had a fantastic experience at Fete while we visited on our honeymoon. They gave us champagne to celebrate; so thoughtful!! Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and the food was delicious. We tried the special appetizer and the Fete spreads (caponata and house made ricotta) with homemade sourdough; they were both very satisfying. My husband got the lamb sausage with homemade ricotta cavatelli. He loved the pasta; he’s Italian so that means a lot. I got the special entree, an eggplant lasagna with 20+ layers of homemade pasta and a mildly spiced tomato sauce. It was amazing. We also finished with the cannoli, which was delightful but be sure to note that it has orange in the filling as well just in case that’s not your thing. The cocktails were also great. We were seated outside which overall was great but the ambiance inside looked even more amazing. Definitely a must try if you are in Honolulu.

They have upped their game. Every dish was exquisite! I loved the beet salad with avocado and green goddess dressing topped with fabulous crunchy shallots. Yum!!! We enjoyed the fried chicken, which we always get and love - salty crunchy and not greasy. I also flipped over the kale with mushrooms, rich with umami flavor. And we were spoiled by a raspberry lilikoi sorbet for dessert. Oh let's not forget the excellent cocktail menu!!
Adilene Alfaro
Everyone was so nice here! Tried rare steak as an appetizer for the first time ever here!!! The food was so good and refreshing. We sure miss it! Don’t miss out!
Steve Walsh
Everything was excellent, but the carrots were really special. If they're on the menu, you really have to try them as a side. The olive oil cake and the rocky road ice cream alone were worth the trip.
Trevor S
Absolutely incredible from start to finish. I honestly can't fathom why anyone would rate this below 5.
We had the chicken wings to start which were an appetizer special. Incredibly crispy, yet moist and perfectly cooked inside, with a sweet glaze and dill horseradish dipping sauce. Make it a menu item! Wow!
We also had the lap cheong fried rice which had a really nice ginger hit from the oil at first, funk from the sausage, and perfect wok hei.
For entrées we had the carbonara and fish special (Mahi Mahi). Carbonara had all of the components of the classic but with a slight twist. Sauce was beautifully emulsified, pecorino was sharp, black pepper was fragrant and fruity but still had the kick of heat, and the Portuguese Sausage was soft and meaty like the traditional pancetta but with a little more funk which was great. The noodles were thick and had the perfect amount of chew. One of the best carbonara's I've ever had.
Mahi Mahi had sea asparagus which tasted like a burst of ocean saltwater, a great cilantro puree, pickled red onions, and purple sweet potatoes (maybe ube?). Very flavorful and fun to combine the different components into different bites.
We initially opted to not get dessert because we had so much food, but because everything was spectacular we tried the special which was like a tiny pineapple galette with vanilla ice cream and a caramel sauce. Out of this world!
All of that and the bill was only slightly over $100. Back in NY that would have easily been between $200 and 300. And portions were generous.
Bravo to the whole team! The best restaurant experience we've had in quite a long time!
Jeremy Campos
Really enjoyed the ambiance, service, drinks and food! Loved the fried chicken with grits, and the burger was simple but perfect; their house ketchup with fries was also perfection.
Cannot remember the name of the drink, but it was incorporated with egg whites, and it's one of the best we've had; similar to a pisco sour.
Antonio Camacho Ortiz
First things first, let's say you just sit down at your table and the waiter introduces himself as Kevin, oh you're lucky! I'll get to the food in a minute, but let me talk about this guy. We were a party of five, four Puerto Ricans in the group, K was the perfect balance between European and American service. Gave us enough space and time to decide and enjoy our time, while never making us feel unattended. I told him I was mentioning him on my review, and here I am paying my dues.
Now the food, we ordered the Steak Tartare as appetizer, GOD! I was moaning like in a Herbal Essences ad! Then I got my Chaz Burger, medium, oh my! The juices, the flavor, the fries, the bread, everything was perfectly cooked! There were other plates in my table but I can't speak for them, my experience was mix of great food with awesome service. Highly recommended!
To be honest, the experience is a 5 stars, the parking situation which they have no say is the only thing taking away that fifth star. Nevermind, I gave them the whole 5, they deserve them!

What a great place! The food was amazing, the drinks were really unique and so tasty. The ladies serving us were really friendly, fast and attentive. I recommend this place when visiting Honolulu!
allen
Came here first time, food was amazing, especially the fete spread. We did have to wait ~15 minutes for our reserved table to be cleared.
Came here a second time, fete spread was still amazing. My order was missed... but they gave us a ton of items for free as an apology, even though I told them it was fine. Great servers, great food.
Gerard Lee
This place just rocks...this was my first dinner here, the specials are fabulous. We had the chicken liver pate and the steak tatare; the breads that came with each were scrumptious. We wish they put a quail egg atop the tartare, it would have added the richness we thought was missing. The pate reminded me of peanut butter and jelly on toast; I loved it. We had the two entree specials, a rack of lamb and the braised oxtails. Mmm, the oxtails were so rich in flavor and the gnocchi and roasted root vegetables added a perfect counterpoint to the oxtails. We had a glass of pinot noir with the lamb and a zinfandel with the oxtails; great pairings! Highly recommended for dinner.
Jul S
Food was absolutely fantastic! Profesionalism, service, and multi tasking all amazing from the bartneder Trevin (might be spelled wrong). Manager and hostest were walking around checking on people. It's definitely the best (not too pricey) meal I have ever had in Hawaii!
Kaz Tak
New American style restaurant in downtown in Hawaii. We did make a reservation but we had to wait to have a seat for 30 minutes or so as it was overbooked. That could have taken one star away but the quality of food is amazing so that I couldn’t take it. The staff is also nice and friendly so we did enjoy the good dinner. The restaurant looks so popular that the reservation is highly recommended. Also our reservation time was 8 pm but some plats were already out of stock, so early time might be better if you have something you want to have.
Chris Pouliot
A solid spot for lunch or dinner. Menu has a great mix of pupus, sandwiches, pasta and entre options. I had the Steak Tartare as well as the Chaz Burger (with bacon) and it was quite tasty.
Winifred Ha
Bit pricey, the only downside. Love their food, but menu change seasonally so go frequently if u find anything u love, cuz it might not be on menu the nx time u visit.
Wine collection is amazing💕
George Laird
First time dining at this lovely restaurant. It has an American Bistro vibe inside, amazing and attentive staff. The dish I had was seared scallops (special of the day). Perfectly prepared, the term Avant Garde comes to mind although not a term normally applied to culinary dishes, truly a chef inspired creation! I can genuinely say I have never enjoyed scallops so tastefully prepared.
Pricing is on par with fine dining establishments with entrees ranging from $11 for sandwiches up to about $42 for the Onaga dinner entree. I believe the scallop entree shown in this review was around $39. A very pleasant find in the heart of downtown Honolulu. You can find their website online with menus, hours and reservations.
Darryl Aoki
Went to dinner here with my fiancé on vacation. Got to sit upstairs in the very cozy upstairs library, which we found extremely nice. I got the Korean fried chicken sandwich with mac and cheese (don't judge), and my fiancé got a burger with kale and mushrooms as a side.
I feel slightly terrible about saying that the kale and mushroom side dish was my favorite, but it was soooo good. Which is not to say that the sandwiches weren't good - far from it. My chicken was beautifully crispy and tender and flavorful, and my fiancé's burger was juicy and beefy. Her assessment of it is that it was scrumptious, juicy, and flavorful.
Service was also very attentive and friendly, and if I had to pick one thing to complain about, it was that our food magically disappeared too quickly. If you have a chance to go here, do. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Nicole Wang
Had business lunch and didn't make it to take photos. The foods are very tasty and I would love to go back trying more. Though it's a bit noisy..
Jenny Daniels
We sat at the chef’s table which was amazing. Service was excellent, food was so good, and drinks were creative and delicious. Would definitely go back!
Laura Trilles
Just ate here for dinner with my lovely husband (date night!) and it blew me away. The atmosphere is chic, the food is great, and the service was good. We met the owner who was working the restaurant- very nice guy. All of the ingredients were very fresh. They also have a good wine list.
Doris Holderness
Very fun dining place with strong emphasis on very fresh and very local. The apps were great. Had the Fête spread and special was sea urchin still not a fan. Didn’t order, but saw the plate of deviled eggs looks great! We had 2 different fish specials both were good but really liked mine which was similar to Mahi served with massed potatoes and seaweed asparagus. Got a sample of the gnocchi Bolognese and it is awesome. White cream sauce with mascarpone, ricotta and olive oil on top was added taste! Dessert was the olive oil cake not usually a fan but theirs is worthy of ordering! Comes with a unique ice cream flavor also using olive oil. Enjoyed the counter seating to watch the chefs in action.
David Bannow
Amazing food, service and drinks…and we are foodies! Thank you to our bartender/server Lexi to help make our experience so memorable!
Justin Snider
Really good food. The nicoise salad is large and delicious. The deviled eggs are some of the best I've ever had. Happy hour is $3 off cocktails and the bloody Mary is amazing!
Robert
This hip restaurant is located in the trendy hotel street area where the old Nening's filipino restaurant used to be. Outside of the pandemic, food will be served throughout the day (check for availability). The fried chicken and pasta carbonara are always the go to all day. In the evening's, fresh fish specials and local beef dishes are excellent. The wine list will satisfy any enthusiast and the selections you find will compliment any of the food offerings you choose. Sara and Febriz were very attentive to our table which made dinner service feel like home. I tried the olive oil cake for dessert and I'm totally in love with it.
Judelyn Vallesteros
I loved everything about this restaurant. It was my first time there and I’m definitely going back. Ask for the specials. This restaurant uses local fresh fish and products. The staff are wonderful. Our server Eleanor made sure we got our food with enough time to eat and get to an event nearby. I highly recommend everyone to eat here or have a few drinks.
Stefano Viscuso
Great food, our service wasn't the best on my last visit but the manager made sure to take care of us on a busy Saturday night.
They also have great cocktails as well as decor.
Marissa Gomez
Loved this place! Service was great and the food was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and the cocktails were also very good. I would definitely go back, they had some specials that sounded amazing that I would like to try!
Joshua Chen
Was not impressed by the beef tartare or the chicken liver pate, however their house made sourdough was quite good. While the entrees were nothing to write home about, their homemade rocky road ice cream was the best I have ever had. Will probably return just for the ice cream.
Bjarne Bartlett
This cramped restaurant serving creative, New American Cuisine is totally worth a stop. The menu is short, carefully curated, and filled with amazing dishes. There's not good parking in the neighborhood and the restaurant is expensive, but if you're after top-notch food this place is worth it.
We ordered the local rebeets (a beet salad), coconut-lime prawns, and market fish (hamachi). Each dish was a delicious, one-of-a-kind creation that had clearly been carefully chosen for the menu. I highly recommend this place for the foodies out there.
Kendra Byrd
Had a lovely solo dinner here. I had the snapper and mashed Japanese sweet potatoes and it was incredible. Cool location even if Chinatown remains a bit rough around the edges. Very hip crowd and bar (I even spotted an erewhon grocery bag).
farvardin jahansooz
Second visit, had a Spicy Kitty drink. Came in a kitty cup. Was great. Recommend the soup, came with saffron buttered bread.
Chantal R
Great food and excellent service. They have lots of vegetarian options and the quinoa bites are amazing. An extensive wine list to complement any combination of food and dessert. I would highly recommend.
Mark Radtke
One of my all-time great dining experiences. Our server was welcoming and knowledgeable, but also joyful in a way I’ve never experienced at a high-end restaurant. Every item on the menu was enticing, and the specials made it even harder for us to choose. As promised, the ingredients were lovingly selected, but they didn’t use that as an excuse to be lazy with the preparation. Every component demonstrated true skill and every dish was smart and exciting without being fussy. Fete absolutely deserves its James Beard award and probably at least two Michelin stars to go along with it. I could easily eat there every meal for a week.
siamac moghaddam
Amazing place. Food was great. Had the roast chicken. Had the carbonara. Then an amazing dessert.
Gdub-u
It's obvious the owners care a great deal about the food and service. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant with a lot of buzz. The restaurant was fairly busy when I went on a Wednesday night, but I don't know if it lives up to the hype. Some things were fantastic and unique, others just average. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food but I was left wishing I was trying out another spot. Would go back if my go-to Chinatown restaurant wasn't open.
celloc
i forgot i hate cheese. my dining compadres found all the cheese exceptional. everything else was great
Lena Luboviski
The food here is really good! I make sure to leave room for the olive oil cake every time.
C J
What can I say? This place is the highest quality, well developed, locally sourced menu available. I have a hard time not eating here every day. We’ll done.
Keola Makaiau
In a nutshell ... This place is amazing. Been here about 4 times and never disappointed.
Today: Porterhouse Lamb - excellent!! with caramel fish sauce. Ooooh! So tender.
Appetizers included Foie Gras Gyoza (highly recommend). Local beef tartar and a special app of the day Seared Ahi (also highly recommend)
Dessert:. You gotta have the house made Rocky Road Ice Cream.
I will return.
Jack Graysmark
When I was served a cocktail in a ceramic lucky cat glass, with a straw out of one ear and spices smeared onto the other, the waitress serving advised me: “you are encouraged to lick the ear.”
That line stayed with us for the rest of the vacation and is now one of the defining quotes from our time in Hawaii.
Everything about our dinner was incredible here: I had the Korean bavette, just the right level of sticky and spicy, and my wife had the risotto- as a vegetarian she’s had her fair share but it was one of the best she’s ever had, made better by the variety of mushrooms and the egg mixed in. Brilliant cocktails (see above) backed up by friendly efficient service. If we’re ever back in Honolulu, this will be top of our culinary list.
Jessica Riano
My husband and I were recently on Oahu for our honeymoon and enjoyed the dinner we had at Fete - so much that we had lunch there on our last day before heading out to the airport.
For dinner we tried all the specials: The Seared Ahi Salad with Avocado was DELICIOUS! If they have it - get it. The Korean inspired half chicken special entree was sooo good.
For lunch: we enjoyed and devoured every bite of Grandma Kim's Kalbi (a refined Loco-Moco-ish dish) and the Mahi Sandwich.
The staff, from host to bartender to server, was all warm and friendly. Kevon, our bartender was especially so, and great at making cocktails. The Spicy Kitty is a great drink made even better by the cute maneki-neko vessel. The Daq-o-wee has an amazing blend of Ko' Hana rum with pastis, creating a fantastic combination of the underlying sugar cane and anise flavors, and their Mai'i Tai is one of the best we had on Oahu.
The location is super hip and surrounded by cool shops and bars for strolling before or after. We will be back!
Gary Turner
A small, unique menu that allows each item to be exceptionally well prepared. Excellent service, noise makes table talk challenging.
Charles Feinberg
Really the best of the best. Having had over 50 meals at Fete since it opened, my wife and I can honestly say there is not one negative thing concerning Fete. Transport Fete to Greenpoint or Williamsburg Brooklyn and you would need to make reservations at least one month in advance. The only place in Hawaii to get pristine east coast oysters. The best creative fish on Oahu and the best wine list outside of NYC. Robynne and Chuck Bussler have created a Mecca towards creative but relaxing cuisine.
6/6/2020
Fete finally opened their doors after a forced hiatus due to the Corona virus. My wife and I have not eaten in a restaurant for over three months. We knew that if anyone could work out the incredible hard logistics of opening a restaurant that will be able to adhere to the most stringent state guidelines and still make everyone happy it had to be Chuck Bussler and his wife and head chef Robynne Maii..And boy did they pull it off. Less tables, staff wearing face masks, a slightly smaller menu and wine list BUT still impeccable service and of course some of the best food this side of Williamsburg/Greenpoint Brooklyn. We had Crab Toast: In the style of shrimp toast. More flavorful. Mahi Mahi Saltimbocca:with prosciutto, pesto and pan fried potatoes. Cavatelli with mushroom, light lemon, saffron & regiano. And a great Vouvray from the Loire Valley. It’s good to be back home.

2nd time back during Corona virus time. Paranoid because we are over 70. Fete has created the perfect environment for us and everyone else. Great spacing, superb facemasked service and as usual unbelievable food.

Thurs. Sep. 24 First Day Back since all restaurants closed. Not one misstep. You feel safe. And you fall back in love with the most creative and delicious food in Oahu.
G & V Williams
Four of us headed here for an anniversary dinner. EVERYTHING we ate was outstanding. Would totally recommend!
Vernard Davis
One of the only places in hawaii at the moment where you can find a few southern soul food classics. Double fried chicken, cheese grits and creamed greens are my favorite dishes from them. They also have a nice outdoor eating area where you can eat and enjoy the bumbling craziness of downtown Chinatown. My recommendation if your looking to eat something outside of normal Hawaiian cuisine.
Greg Bryson
This restaurant is incredible. Definitely get the milk punch (milk fat washed and clarified passion, guava, orange)! Listen to the specials, they're worth getting! Look out for chef Harry. He has a beautiful fade and looks like he hasn't had a carb in 3 years.
Christopher Partipilo
My wife and I had one of the best meals of our lives here. The service was excellent and the flavors were incredible. Visiting from the mainland for our honeymoon and we will be sure to return before we head home!
Richard E
Hands down, one of the classiest places I've ever had the luxury of eating. Service and food are top notch. I love this place!
Louis Urvois
Delicious food in a cool cozy setting. Great for a date. A little small and stuffy for little kids. So leave them at home, because the food is worth it!
Vasilisa Zareva
Now there's no ceiling to perfection of course. But food is wonderful check, service too check and I appreciate good vibes there whether I am eating alone or with the companion. I'd suggest live music, however, some days, and I'd like to come sing and play😊 …
Patricia Zavalza
I had the mexican lasgna and it was amazing! The drinks are really good too. My only issue was that it took a really long time to get our food but in all fairness, that might have been because they had just opened when we walked in.
Justin Chu
I came here for lunch and had the Korean Chicken sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was incredible, but the salad was lacking as it was just a pile of lettuce with no other vegetables. My dining companion also enjoyed her sandwich. The wait staff were very nice and attentive. The food was a little pricey - $35 for 2 sandwiches without drinks, but I was still a little hungry afterward. The portions are not that generous.
Stephen Taylor
I would give this place six stars if I could. Everything is classy from the tables/chairs, to the napkins, to the menus, to the cream jugs. The interior is superbly maintained and kept new and clean. Service is attentive and personal. Food delicious.
Karen Dickson
Delicious! I had the pumpkin salad which was so good but the star of the show were the quinoa cakes. I don't know what kind of witchcraft the chef used to make it but I could eat those every day.
Brad Tom
Really enjoyed the ambiance, service and food! Started off with the Fete spread, coconut lime prawns and grilled pulpo (octopus tentacle). The grilled pulpo and Fete spread were my favorite appetizers. Ordered the Bistro Steak Frites. Recommend going with a medium rare-medium cook for the steak. Finished off the night with the rocky road ice cream. I got to admit, that was the best rocky road ice cream I've eaten! No pics of the ice cream as I was too busy eating it.
Victor Gielisse
Awesome lunch. Fresh and well prepared. Great hospitality. What a hidden gem in China Town. A must visit when in Hawaii.
Tanner Berkson
Everything was absolutely amazing!! I had the Korean Bavette and it was incredible. They were very accommodating to our 4 year old.
Edel Alon
In a city that constantly reinvents itself, one restaurant is standing out from the rest. Fete Restaurant celebrates the local farm-to-table movement, bringing fresh and seasonal cuisine to Honolulu diners. With an open kitchen, lush plant wall, and rustic brick walls, Fete transports you to a brasserie in Brooklyn or Paris - all with a laid-back Hawaiian sensibility. The bar features artisanal cocktails and a well-curated wine list, while the menu offers inventive dishes like bavette steak with gochujang sauce and ginger scallion fried rice. With 2022 James Beard Award Winner for Best Chef Northwest & Pacific at the helm, Fete is setting the new standard for Honolulu dining.
Simone P
Fun place with great food, you won't regret taking your gang there for a celebration!
Sasha Kealalio
They have fun drink options and funky glassware. I had a house sod, yuzu thyme soda which was delicious, and my friend had a Spicy Kitty. The spreads were my favorite part of our meal. I totally forgot to document after we got the spreads. It is a small space, but its worth it and super instaworthy. I'd go back for the food for sure, but I want to go back for drinks for sure!
Sean Kau
Carefully prepared dishes incorporating local ingredients in interesting ways. Flavors are familiar yet feature interesting twists.
Gerard Newman
Got to the restaurant right as they opened - staff was warm and friendly. My friend and I were in town for the day (we're from a neighbor island) and lunch here was our reward for a stressful morning.
We started with the Fête Spreads and Steak Tartare, followed by one of the daily specials - seared ahi tuna - and the Korean Bavette - delicious! A nice Vieux Telegraph from the wine list didn't disappoint.
Lunch was unhurried, the staff accommodating, noise level low enough for conversation (rare). Somehow our server knew that my friend's birthday was coming up shortly and brought the Olive Oil cake for us.
Plotting and planning to return!
nelson leopold
The burger and fries are excellent and I really liked the homemade ketchup. Had a scoop of their Rocky Road ice cream for dessert and loved it.
Meghan
Fête has a great atmosphere. There is a communal area in the back shared between a few restaurants and that is where the bathroom is.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. The appetizers are generous in portion. We had the bread with dip to start which was delicious. The pot pie wasn’t my favorite but I loved the flavor- the beef was just very fatty. My fiancé ordered the Korean beef dish which was delicious. We were celebrating his birthday and they were super nice and gave us a complimentary ice cream with his olive oil cake, which also came with a candle.
Floyd Masga
Small but friendly environment. Friendly staff and delicious food. Ordered the seafood chowder and beef risotto.
Sierra L
Easily the best meal we have had while staying on the island. Everything was delicious, fresh, and made with love. They have a very impressive wine and cocktail menu. The service is incredible and a special thank you to our server Rebecca B for making us feel at home. I can not recommend this place enough.
Fadi Brahimcha
This is a must try in Honolulu. Creative and well balanced menu. Generous portions. Eclectic wine list and cocktails.
C’est la fête !!!
Cindy Rasmussen
Fete just catered our fundraising event. It was very tasty as all around me agreed. The portions were very generous and they were packaged to go for our outdoor event. We were not sure how to pull off COVID safe meals, but Fete knew exactly what to do. Thank you, Chef Robin & Chuck! P.S. Congratulations on your James Beard award, Chef Robin!
Josh Gries
Enjoyed a meal here multiple times over the last few months and each meal gets better and better. With multiple James Beard Nominations, the reputation and quality of food here speaks for itself. This is one of those must-stops during any trip to Hawaii. This is by far one of the top restaurants on island. Highly recommend
Nathan Kam
One of my favorite lunch spots in downtown Honolulu/Chinatown. Great menu featuring a who’s who of local farmers and ranchers. The liver appetizer, burger and pastas are always a good get.
Paula Hester
I love this restaurant! Great food and cool people, too. I have been a couple times since we moved into the neighborhood and everything I have ordered has been delicious! Another bonus is that as someone who doesn't drink, they have a few alcohol free options that are so tasty and also fancier than just a "kids table" option like soda or water. It is so nice to have a lovely mocktail with dinner! I had the Fete 00 and it was lovely. 5 stars!
Noble Dunn
Delicious food and kind service. Outside seating available for a nice day. Great lunch spot.
Dewar Gleissner
This was an awesome random Google find while we were here. Amazing good and great atmosphere. We sat at the bar and had a great time talking with the bar tender and just watching him work. Cocktails were amazing. You will more than likely need a reservation and if you get there early wait at the bar nextdoor not outside (the locals can get a bit strange on the street).
Lia N
Made reservations on Opentable, which was super convenient. Ordered a dozen oysters (they luckily still had them on a Monday) and duck lumpia special. Both were super delicious and would order again. Especially loved the sauces that came with the oysters! Got the spicy kitty cocktail because you know … for the gram … but they ended being really delicious and fun at the same time! What more can you ask for in a brunch drink. We also ordered the basil Caesar salad that was really refreshing, the side of lupcheong fried rice, and the korean bavette. All which were really flavorful and refreshing. Perfect little brunch spot in the heart of Chinatown. Super refreshing dishes and cocktails. Service was on point, even when they were slammed for most of our time. It looks like the chefs like to change up dishes frequently, which I love! Can’t wait to go back to taste other dishes!
Damian Balinowski
Fantastic food and lovely staff. I had the bacon-wrapped mahi which was delicious. Went there early, so no problem with crowding.
Jordan Bank
We visited Fete on a Monday night where it was quite busy. They sat us at a table that wasn't near the rest of the ambiance nor the rest of the tables. It was right in front of the kitchen. This turned out to be the best seat in the house. The kitchen staff interacted with us and made the experience really nice. Our server was also very informative and recommended a wide variety of options that helped steer us to our decision. The food itself was superb. We had the Bavette. The fried rice was excellent, the fried egg mixed in really added the flavor I was looking for. The steak was cooked to our liking and was very tender. We also had the crispy potatoes which were excellent as well. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting or a local. Best service experience I have had in a very long time.
Chella Calix
Food was good and the drinks was worth it but the service could have been better. Waited 15 minutes for drinks. Our waitress seemed lost. Steak was chewy. I definitely recommend the grill cheese.
Andy Dimov
The food and cocktails were incredibly good! The bread deserves a special praise. Very well made!
J B
My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Fete for our anniversary. The food was friggin delicious. My wife had a cocktail in a giant ceramic cat that was tasty and you could borderline breathe fire after drinking it, this didn't stop us from finishing the whole drink. Waitstaff was veey friendly and knowledgeable. 15/10 would definitely go back.
Lyn F
Absolutely wonderful food, with OUTstanding service from every single person. After the first round of warm welcomes and then very generously comped drinks, I was really trying to understand what we’d done to deserve such a lovely evening. The owners clearly know how to run an amazing restaurant, and just organization in general, with an evidently fantastic culture among the staff, and a clear enthusiasm and passion for their food and customers that I simply haven’t seen anywhere else. The food of course was impeccable, a delicious, creative fusion of east and west.
J H
Stylish restaurant in Honolulu. A small menu of healthy and local food. In our opinion the food was missing good seasoning and the service was really mediocre. We were there for lunch time.
Walt White
In Oahu on vacation for a week and we took an Uber ride to the downtown area, in Chinatown. We asked the Uber driver for recommendations for the two of us for dinner, and he came up with this place. Total score, we loved the food and the service.
Cynthia Ah Sam
A must when you're on Oahu!! Wow!
Garry Devine
Fĕte is a wonderful dining experience. Came for the first time at the end of March, and had a delightful meal, so came back again last night... Great cocktail list to start the evening followed by some delicious small bites to warm up the palate. The menu has a wide variety of choices, but is not overwhelming. Had several of the chef's specials for the evening, accompanied by great service and ambience. Does not disappoint. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Highly recommend.
Thomas Tsang
I have eaten here many times before, and i still love it. Menu has changed since the last time i have been here, but all the items were amazing. An ahi seared (almost charred) on one side with a avo puree, won ton chips, and yuzu sauce. Foie gras gyoza with a reduction sauce and apple marmalade
The pic is a lamb burger with feta, tom, arugala....
Tomi
Great cocktails, food and service.
Jonathan Mears
Lovely place for lunch or dinner!! Everything on the menu is a must!!
Rowland Short
We had many memorable meals in Honolulu, but this one was special. We sat in the library with the chefs' cookbooks as we enjoyed the polenta, ravioli special, beet salad, burger, chicken and the best fish I can remember.
Ever. The scotch, mixed drinks and dessert rounded out the experience... 🤘🏼💪🏼🍻✊🏼
Tame Impala
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Was visiting Hawaii on vacation and everyone said check this place out, this other place on the strip, etc. No one mentioned this place. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Local feel, great server, food is another level. If your visiting Hawaii put this one your list. We just happened to be staying a block down from this place and we decided to try it since it was close. Just the best....
James McEntee
Fantastic food and drink, excellent service and somewhere I'd definitely come back to visit again!
I was really impressed by the menu and specials. The portion sizes were good - being used to European sizes it was a bit of a novelty to find somewhere that had finishably sized dishes.
I'd heartily recommend the ribeye and mahi mahi
Maria Leonardi
We had an amazing meal at Fete. Very leisurely and relaxed lunch on our way out of Oahu and back to the Big Island. Very creative dishes, great wines and fantastic people! Highly recommend! Note: Unless you prefer outside due to covid caution, I'd recommend sitting inside - not the best street to sit on.
Lauren Machado
Food was so desirous and unique. we had the best coconut shrimp I have ever had. Fried and chicken and rice were great as well. Service was next level and ambience of restaurant was chill modern vibe. Would go here again next time we visit.
Alex Zoumbaris
Made a reservation 15min before getting there and the food was fantastic! Had the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Citrus Cake for dessert, both were excellent. Our server Katie S. did a great job, would highly recommend this restaurant.
Alex Duncan
I had the oysters to start, and the Chaz burger with fries for my main meal. Everything was delicious, and in spite of the restaurant being busy, the service was great.

Great food, local honey and the bread was soooo good. Our server was awesome and very attentive.
Matthew Slagle
Wonderful experience at the bar. While the location is small, the ambience and food are surely the star. My wife and I had some of the best food, and inexpensive $10-$15 per glass wine recommendations, we have ever had. Fabricio our bartender and experience extraordinaire was amazing and truly made our moment.
Slava Ross
Very nice and pleasant restaurant with delicious food. We had a family dinner with children. There’s no children menus but the hamburgers and the pastas are good dishes for the kids. All dishes are tasty and Ravioli are great. Cocktails are excellent. Staff is very nice and helpful
Joaquin Diaz
The food here is diverse and flavorful. One of the better restaurants in Chinatown.
Louise DuPont
had late dinner 8p w/ classmate & family. got to meet Chef Robynne 🙂 who's her cousin.
Ono appetizers - bread w/ 3 spreads & cooked 🥕🥕 (Mmmm)
3 of us had grilled kampachi w/ yummy 🥰 aioli, mashed Okinawan sweet potatoes, sea asparagus 😍 n diced tomatoes ...
definitely worth the wait 😋 restaurant was Full !!!
Chocolate cake w/🕯 for belated b'day celebrant was deliciously different.
Fete's homemade Rocky Road🍦was The Best i've ever tasted❣️
(note : i am not chocolate cake or chocolate ice cream fan)
Can't wait to go back to Fete 💟
Merci, Chef !!!
nt 🐰 😊

Outstanding cocktails, great menu of locally sourced food. Evil potatoes.
Carlos D (Hush)
The food is okay but for it to be overpriced you would expect more than just okay. The place is limited in space so it can get a bit tight when several people are standing or walking. Drinks are really good!
William Booth
The food is amazing! I’ve been to fête a dozen times and the specials never disappoint! The cocktails are solidly among the best in Honolulu.
M J
This place gets a solid B from us.
Service was friendly albeit a bit haphazard. Our waitress seemed really busy and not very attentive.
We had the Gouda and basil Caesar appetizers. Then the cavatelli and hangar steak entrees. I got the spicy kitty cocktail and my husband got a beer.
The Gouda appetizer was a D-. The Gouda was not tasty and the bread was stale.
The basil Caesar was a C. It was decent but nothing to write home about.
The entrees and my cocktail were what we enjoyed most. My cocktail was so yummy and I loved the presentation. The cavatelli was well prepared but I would’ve loved some more of the unique flavors to be bolder within the dish. My husband loved his hangar steak and I had a bite and enjoyed it as well.
We might come back for the chicken mousse-it was the other thing on the menu I was intrigued by.
PoLi D
This place is the real deal for delicious food. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their restaurant. I had a candycane beet salad and the best chicken sandwich, the Korean fried chicken sandwich. My wife had a delicious grilled cheese. This place felt like a hidden gem, not crowded at all and was amazing.
Doug Parker
The only place we ate twice on our trip to Honolulu. Dishes you think you’ve had too many times…. they reinvent and do right. Super friendly service. The neighbourhood is … transitional at best. Take an Uber.
Gordon Scott
Delicious fried chicken sandwich, interesting mix of cocktails. Very friendly staff. Would visit again
Scott Brewer
We needed a place with outdoor dining on the way to the airport and decided to try Fete. Glad we did. Interesting menu with a good variety of items and a friendly wait staff. Really liked the Korean chicken sandwich and the onion rings. And the downtown citizens provide some interesting people watching. Highly recommended
Nathan Chappelle
So there is not anything terrible to say about this place but there is not anything amazing to say either. The food was okay, we had pasta carbonara that was just fine. Not great just okay. We also had the Korean steak, this was also okay. The meat was not very tender or flavorful. Our appetizer was the spreads and it was also just okay. The service was fine, all staff was polite. We did have to wait for our table but the manager did a nice job with it. However, we did find ourselves going long waiting for the check. Overall, there was nothing to make us go back. We don't feel like we were robbed but we were not wow'd either. One and done on Fete.
Thomas Lee
Communicative server and good starters like chicken liver mousse with cranberry/okra sourdough toast along with their special beet salad. Beef cheek risotto was very fall of the bone tender and filling, but taste was on darker and subdued side. Outdoor seating is on a main bus route, which is very noisy, where we had to pause talking each time a bus passes (there are indoor seating options). Good COVID protocols, checking for vaccination proof/ID.
Deborah Emanuel
Outstanding! Don't judge by the menu. There are tons of specials which way outdue the menu offerings. Everything is creative and delicious. Definitely a must try! Will definitely be back again!!!!
Manuel Noben
Everything was pretty good but the size of servings varies wildly between dishes.
Definitely hyped up, but the food and service is good.
ann dailey
One of the best restaurants in the world. And I say this as someone who’s lived in/traveled to dozens of countries (yes, including France and Italy). I love delicious, quality food. I revel in a great atmosphere. I appreciate fantastic service. I have been to restaurants that are fancier. I have tasted dishes that are more impressive. But in terms of all-around fantastic restaurants, this is in my top 3. Anywhere. Ever.
Lisa Capeilleres
The food was absolutely amazing. The steak tartar brought me back to my childhood when my father would prepare it. It tasted exactly the way my father made it. Merçi beaucoup du fond du coeur.
Matt M
Waitress memorized a very long specials menu and recited it to us. We couldn't memorize it. We had to ask her questions about it. She got impatient. We ordered mahi and shnitzel. It was pretty good.
Marcie Colbath
The food was absolutely delicious. I had vegetarian risotto and hubby had the schnitzel. The schnitzel was enough for 2! It was cooked to perfection. The risotto was amazing as well.
We went during Restaurant Week so the place was busting at the seams with patrons eating and the sidewalk was packed with those waiting to get in.
Although they were clearly slammed...the service was outstanding. We never felt ignored or unattended to. The staff is super friendly and very attentive.
Highly recommended
Samara A. Birer
The octopus was delectable. We were delighted with all of our dishes and wish we had room for more. I highly recommend this restaurant!
K Hanawahine
Service, food and atmosphere was excellent!!
Charles Bohe
I gave Fete a four star rating due to the food. First I will admit the dishes were unfamiliar to me thus may be unfairly rated but when the only dish I would consider eating again is the salad I suspect something went wrong. There was no introduction to the food we were eating. Service was fantastic as far as the staff interaction was concerned. There is many places to park in China Town and in our case after 4PM a whole length of delivery zone became available. If I considered having a group gathering I would try the meals first before inviting friends to dine out with me and even then the main course meals were made to serve a group so they may not be available for tasting ahead of time.
Robert G
My wife and I have been here twice. Good food but expensive. Seating super-tight. I was really crammed.
Matt Vidusek
Absolutely amazing! I have been with my girlfriend twice in the last month. The food is always wonderful, and they always have amazing specials! I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Dave knows his stuff! He knows exactly what you want to drink and can pair anything with any item on the menu.
I will be going back again and again! I can't get enough!
William G Weiland
This place is fantastic. From their food to cocktails to service. A true gem on Oahu. World class quality, creativity, and DELICIOUS food and creative boozy (and fun) cocktails. Highly recommended.
Austin Gilmore
This was a great restaurant, and I really enjoyed the ambiance as well as the menu. The best thing that we ate was the steak tartare which had some great flavor combinations. The twice fried chicken that they are known for was well done, and the people I dined with really enjoyed it, but I didn't love it and it didn't have too much to separate it from other fried chicken. My favorite part of the restaurant had to be the cocktails though. They were presented very well and had great flavors. The staff was very helpful in guiding me to a great cocktail as well.
Matthew Mlot
High point in Honolulu dining. Really enjoyed the vibe. We sat outside on a great evening. We got the double fried chicken and Korean hanger steak. Both exceptionally prepared. Server was attentive and personable without being intrusive. Would highly recommend.
Chancelor Szabo
Wait staff and food service were on point. The food itself was really well done. I had the Kauai Ranch Korean, which was really well balanced in flavors. The cocktails were quite good as well. Between the Chumley and Negroni I have no qualms. Food and drink came out in a timely manner. Reasonably priced for the quality and the amount of food ordered between two people.

Funny story on how we ended up here for lunch. I had made reservations for another place and then realized that I had my dates all messed up and it was too late to change. I quickly got onto Yelp to do a search for lunch spots and remembered that I had seen this place before and that it looked interesting, so took a chance. What an amazingly great find.
Located almost in the heart of Chinatown on a notoriously gritty street, it is actually conveniently located close to several safe municipal parking lots that offer very reasonably priced parking rates. It's in a cute building that seems to have some history presence and they designed the interior perfectly around it.
The menu wasn't extensive, but did offer an wide range of different dishes that I am sure the pickiest of eaters could find sometime to their liking despite the very creative dish assortments.
We had the chicken liver mousse as a starter. Absolutely a must try if you go there. You wouldn't know that it is liver at all. Even the toast corners were fantastic.
I ordered the Smoked Ono, aka Wahoo, Club Sandwich which was perfectly put together on a great bun and super crispy thick bacon giving it a well put together dish that was perfect for lunch. My partner had the Cioppino Soup which was good, but just okay in my book. Probably just want to my taste likings.
For dessert, we got the Raspberry-Lychee-Rose Sorbet and the Olive Oil Cake. The Sorbet was a great finisher with strong fruity and floral flavors that cleansed the palate. I regretted not taking the recommendation by the server to add a scope of vanilla ice cream to the Olive Oil Cake. Don't get me wrong, the cake was amazing, but the ice cream would have been an perfect complement to even better the finishing experience.
The staff there were all very friendly and accommodating. Overall experience was very pleasant and nice to see a charming place like this rise up and show that there is future promise from this tarnished part of town.
D Jacinto
A must go to. Only complaint tables are to close for comfort. Food is excellent.
Anna D
My husband and I had a fantastic meal at Fete. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the wine list extensive and carefully curated. There seems to be such a craze for fried chicken these days. If the chicken at Fete is representative, I get it! I ordered the wild mushroom salad with the crispy chicken on the side and it was a very nice sized portion for dinner. My husband had the beef cheek and saffron risotto. We had started with gougeres, which were a daily special. These were melt in your mouth. A smoked fish pate made in house on the side was inspired. I tried the special Fete cocktail and loved it. We followed that with the half bottle of Barolo. The dessert list looked amazing but unfortunately I just couldn’t fit it in. I guess I will have to go back. What can I say, it was a perfect evening!
Michael Baumann
Nice ambient, good food and service. We had a great time with friends. Wine was not cheap though.
Claire Wagner
Very highly recommended! Outstanding food, excellent service, great prices for meals and drinks. Easy to get to in Chinatown, which is becoming a busy arts & theater district.
Fabienne Hansen
Fête was a complete surprise. We had high expectations based on reviews, but we had no idea that we were about to dine at what we would argue is the best restaurant on the island. It is a rare occurrence to experience a restaurant that creates a culture of creativity and fine dining ambiance across the front of the house and back. We were welcomed by a kind and extremely knowledgeable gentlemen named Fabrice, who produced some of the finest craft cocktails we have enjoyed in the past several years, some of which were by his own creative design that he attributes to Fête’s culture. Everything we had was outstanding. If you visit Honolulu, you must go to Fête.
James Brown
Oh man where do I start? You know how you go to a place and one or two things you get are pretty good then usually the rest is meh..... Well this isn't one of those places, every dish, side, and drink we got were absolutely delicious! The quinoa cakes 🔥, twice fried chicken 🔥, braised chicken 🔥, fried rice 🔥, kale and mushrooms 🔥, the drinks were perfect and that olive oil cake was amazing... but the best of all the house made rocky road ice cream... 🤤 I wish they sell it by the pint or tub haha. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming and I tip my hat to the people working the kitchen. We were sitting across from the kitchen and I found myself watching them and hearing all the orders they had to work on and was amazed at how fast they were pushing dishes out and always seemed to be having fun and not stressed. Definitely coming back!!!!!!
Bruce Schwalm
At dinner I got the hanger steak, excellent preparation. Nice wine selection. Bar had Thomas Handy rye and Elmer T Lee bourbon, what a great surprise! Highly recommended!

I had a great time eating here with a friend. The food was great and the waiter and waitress were very accomidating. I think this place fits better in Waikiki than in China Town. I would go here again.
E Hourani
This place gets 6 Stars… the food is out of this world and full of flavor that will light up your palette like fireworks on 4th of July. The husband (operations) and wife (chef) duo have come up with a winning combination of food that constantly changes to keep their guests desiring more. Ingredients are locally sourced and fresh, the flavors intertwine like a French braid. Mwah! I can’t say enough about our visit and we will definitely come back again!
Wayne Maria (waynesworld808)
We ordered 5 dishes. All were superb. The Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich was incredible. Crispy and juicy. We got to sit at the Chef's Bar and watched them prepare all the dishes. Great experience.
Veronica Alvarez-Campos
The drinks are an absolute pleasure, the bartender was extra nice, thank you for your recommendation. The food was exquisite.
Morgan Kaptain Knowles
Our server, Josh was amazing. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the Korean Bavette / Grandma Kim's Kalbi and the Lupcheong Fried Rice. We got the olive oil cake and tirimisu, wow. Both on another level.
Larissa Lorian
Went twice in one trip, service was so excellent, local food at the top of it's game, without being fussy or too fancy. Great atmosphere and vibe. Just amazing.
DS R
My current favorite restaurant in Oahu. Small, but quality liquor selection, outstanding cocktails, food is delicious, and the service is always great. My favorites are the Caesar salad and either old fashioned. A must try restaurant!
Brent Nichols
What an incredible place. My wife had been here a number of times when traveling for work but this was my first. We ate more food here than we usually do at a restaurant just because the food was so good from the first course to the last. Inspired twists and great execution of dishes. And the staff seemed to treat us and each other like family which was really neat to experience. That says a lot about a place. The chef owner has great energy - a kindness about her which works beautifully with her attention to detail. It seems like a booking would be helpful as they can get quite busy. They are on Open Table. I will look froward to returning next time I'm in town!
Nazanin Bassiri
The 5 stars do not make Fete justice. The 4 of us would have given it 6 stars!
Service was impeccable but the food, the food was shear perfection in every aspect: flavors, textures, freshness, presentation.
Make a reservation and come for lunch with your family or later at the bar (we saw some great action by the bartender!). You will not be disappointed.
We went for lunch and tried two of the day’s special. An amazing fresh salad with herbs, breadcrumbs, cherry tomatoes and watermelon in a blue cheese dressing; and a mexi Ahi (sashimi grade tuna, pan seared snd served on crushed avocado, cut tomatillos, cilantro and light dressing. The kids tried the Korean chicken sandwich and the linguine carbonara. Every single item was just perfect.
We wrapped up everything with the olive oil cake (fluffy light with caramelized edges) and rocky road, homemade icecream. Nothing too sweet but hitting all the right notes.
Mahalo for the best meal on the island.
Marc Powell
The fried chicken was moist and delicious. We finished our meal with the rocky road ice cream, which was exceptional.
Josh Short
Excellent food, all local ingredients. We had the burger which was cooked to perfection, the lamb steak which had a great seasoning, and the fried chicken that managed the best skin while not leaving the chicken dry. Also got the homemade Rocky Road ice cream, even the marshmallows are homemade, my wife wanted to buy all they had left to take home. We can't wait to come back again.
K. A. Applegate
Upmarket menu & priced accordingly. French & local fusion, which I found intriguing & wonderful. Olive oil cake was unique, but unfortunately overdone... waiter made up for it by adding the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had. Cake should always come with ice cream, don't you think? I would like to see inclusion of moderately priced drinks in the menu, Fete.
Seneca Spurling
Fantastic meal, wonderful place. A beautiful, comfortable space in an old brick building in Chinatown.
The staff are wonderful, the food is even better.
M K
Incredible restaurant! Try anything on their menu and don't forget to try a drink or 2 and dessert! Fresh ingredients & friendly vibes
Isabella M
Food was not super impressive. And they were out of a lot of items already early on in the evening. Service was very friendly and good drinks though.
Jason King
Burger is amazing. I ordered it with bacon and a sunny side up egg, with a side salad. My lunch date had the BLT sandwich and side of fries. It also looked really great.
The service was amazing; very nice and friendly waitress. Took a little long to get our food but was genuinely happy with the meal so it was worth the wait!
Bradley Quarton
Amazing cocktails. Excellent service. Exceptional food. Everything was delicious. I don’t understand how all of this was so good. We’re going to be alright everyone.
Jim Hall
Excellent cocktails and dinner. We will be coming back for certain.
Debra Covert-Bowlds
Best food I've had in ages and wonderful service. Fresh, unique, and delicious. I have been singing Fête praises even to locals since we ate there for lunch a few hours ago. Wonderful vegetarian and pescataran options, also.
john degrasse
Awesome food and drinks.
Will be back for sure.
Alyssa Estrada
Went here on a whim and glad we did! Amazing drinks and phenomenal food! Only thing was we were in between lunch and dinner so food choices were minimal; we came at 2pm. Nonetheless, the food was great. I had the Korean friend chicken sandwich and hubby got the burger. Amazing!
John Alexander
Umpteenth time I've eaten here. The food is superb!! They have shaded outdoor dining, as well as indoor dining, and are open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Awesome dining experience, friendly staff, 5 stars!!!
Keli Alina
Service and presentation were on point and flavors were delicious. Can’t wait to go back without a bun in the oven so I can get down on beef tartare and that cocktail menu :). Thanks to the staff for a lovely dinner, you ticked all the boxes for a great dining experience!
Genevieve Cepela
A truly unique eating experience in the heart of China Town. We had the suggested appetizer, the shrimp shown here and the catch of the day - Mahi Mahi - that was superb. The service was top notch and the decor rustic brick with modern touches. A bit pricy but worth it.
Kenneth Stuard
Great ambience, great food, vegetarian lasagna was bomb. Owner/chef brought warm cookies to the table after our meal - and she was quit lovely. Definitely on my favorite list.
mobility23
Food & drinks are AMAZING!!! You can tell the owners love what they do, you can tell the servers, cooks, and bartenders are dedicated professionals.
Favor: PLEASE bring back the German potato salad that used to be served with the schnitzel! I was stationed in Germany & you absolutely NAILED the potato salad; it was the perfect compliment to that crispy, delicious schnitzel.
Love you guys, you work so hard & we’ll continue to support!
Alfred Tomas
Great place to hang out on your own or with friends. This is a small but clean restaurant and bar. The menu offers fabulous appetizers and entrees... great wine selections... but doesn't offer a variety of spirits. If you consider yourself a person with a particular palette who loves food adventures and wine.. this place is definitely the right fit for you.
Anthony Da Marto
This was my 2nd visit to Fete. They were really good 4 years ago, but they are even better now. If you want unique farm-to-fork food, this is the place to go in Oahu. Only slight downside is the location in China Town. This area has been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. A lot of boarded up buildings and the homeless have moved in. Nevertheless, the food and atmosphere inside make this place worth it.
Pedram Shokati
We got the recommendation from a local. It was well worth the visit. The neighborhood is not so high end but the restaurant at the corner was not something you would expect to find in that environment. Great food and service.
jeff lowden
Don't be Afraid of to Chinatown. Hands down one of the best restaurants in Honolulu. The best Cheeseburger ive ever had ( Chaz ). Have the Grilled cheese, once again, one of the best I've ever had. Great Cocktail Program and Staff.
Jeffery Hester
OMG. Best food I've had in like forever. Coconut Kauai Prawns were amazing. Ciopino soup and Gouda toast perfect starters. Going back cause I'm gotta try everything.
Sonja Gracie Lehmann
Amazing meal was had here, all farm to table, house made, amazing sauces, everything cooked to perfection! Friendly and attentive staff! Cool and different part of town too. Highly recommend!
joel flores
Service was excellent, food delicious and Drinks perfect!
Lacy Montgomery
Came in randomly because our first option had no availability. So glad that we did. Great food!! My only issue was they forgot the bacon we added. Wonderful staff. We sat at the chef's table and it was so fun!! We will definitely be going back!!
Barb Harris
Outstanding service. Very creative menu and the food was excellent. Smoked beet salad was fresh and delightful. Carbonara was so good! Cavatelli was very good but sausage was too spicy. Get the pineapple crostata for dessert. Cocktails were quite good. The old fashioned withr rhe maple syrup was the best
Elliott Niblock
Fantastic cocktails, perhaps even better food, great happy hour specials, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. The Korean fried chicken sandwich on the happy hour menu might be the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Both the bartenders I chatted with were great (special shout out to Mike for sending me off to the airport in the right state of mind!). If I’m ever back in Hawaii, I’ll also be back here.
Merv Braggart
Every time I eat here feels like a holiday.
Start with aperitif then share one of each from the menu between 2 people until satiated, finish with amaro.
Or just ask for the special 😉
ATW Renegades
Great !!! Absolutely excellent. Great food, service, and atmosphere! I will be visiting atleast once a month. I'm from North Carolina and my wife and I ordered fried chicken schnitzel foi gra dumplings and desserts. Everything was amazing. The fried chicken w grits and collards was well balanced brined and perfectly executed and fried. The best fried chicken I've has on the island and some of the best ever , besides the nostalgic home cooked meals of course. Reminiscent of everything good with food in the world. Thank you so much Sara for the service , Chuck for the hospitality and Robin for the delicious food ! We will be back what a gem of all around greatness!!!
Brian I
Had reservations for 1pm on a Monday. Table was ready when I got there. Had the Chaz Burger. Definitely a good size Burger and cooked the temp I asked for. Bit loud inside, but a nice buzz. Much better than a dead silent place. Waiter was attentive, water was constantly filled. No complaints here, will definitely be back!
James Jensen
Fete exudes a warm and inviting feel with a home-like atmosphere. Food is always spectacular with reasonable prices for the high level of service you receive.
leetbutterfly
Service was wonderful. Unique but small place. Had the grilled cheese and it was amazing. Also tried the beef cheek risotto which was ok. Risotto lacked seasoning and texture in my opinion.
Joe Mirante
Wonderful outdoor lunch. Great old
Fashioned. Tasty sandwich. Maui onions to die for. Service was spot on. Highly recommended!
Warren Naai
Great steak and chop house with excellent food and service. The Father's Day short rib special was outstanding.
Iris wilhelm
Delicious food and great service. Make this a regular place!
Joseph Dickson
Dorie Greenspan’s Chocolate Cake is fantastic! Very rich, great for sharing between two people.
Roja B
yummy food, portions are a bit small but I loved the ambience. we had the quinoa bites appetizer and the coconut shrimp. the side of fried rice was especially good!
Marek Kalinowski
I recently dined at Fête and loved it for the most part. The food and drinks are more expensive than they have a right to be, but the burger was delicious and the Old Fashioned was mixed perfectly. Definitely a place to go if you want to feel classy in Chinatown and aren't pinching pennies.
Christina Booth
Delicious lunch spot - we arrived right before their lunch shift ended and managed to get a table with any wait. Enjoyed the deviled eggs and the club sandwich while my father had the specialty pasta. Would definitely return. Was throughly impressed by the amazing food scene Oahu has and Fete definitely is up there as one of our favorite places we visited.
Derrick Drake
When in Chinatown this restaurant is an absolute must...Menu is all around Amazing, The Prawns are spectacular and the ginger fried rice will make your lips sing...affordable. cozy and an absolute must eat for local food...love this place!
Alex Mackenzie-Torres
Our go to place in Honolulu. We loved the pate; coconut shrimps and the delicious desert. Wine selection is pretty good with high end and mid rage new world and old world wine ;)
Jason Molgren
Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent service. The area becomes more "interesting(?)" later at night, but for dinner and drinks, it's great! Fortunately, the neighborhood is becoming less seedy every day, and there are a TON of new restaurants that have opened near fete since we were there a year ago.
Trase Wagner
One of my top five favorite restaurants on Oahu. Everything on the menu is well executed and delicious. I’m giving this restaurant the title of, “Best Burger on Oahu!”
Michael Magee
The atmosphere is great and the servers were very nice and responsive. Took a while for the food and drinks to come out. The food was okay and a little pricey. Overall a decent restaurant.
Therese Wendler
Very nice experience. Bartender was super informative and friendly. Food was good and a nice atmosphere
Chip
Costly, but worth it. Didn't expect this American eatery in Chinatown, Honolulu. Very nice place.
Max Max
Everything was ok. I can't a reason to go back again. The quinoa cakes, I can make that at home. The pulpo was bordering on the tough side. The best dish we tried was the chicken liver pate. The service was ok as well. We had an attentive waitress but felt like longer waits between visits towards the end of the night. Desserts was a let down. Try it once. Stick to the appetizers and sides.
selven chetty
Excellent food. Especially the twice fried chicken. The service was fantastic as well.
Rachel was a great server!
Brittany Fisher
Exceptional dinner here, unique and tasty. Service was outstanding also. Worth the Uber out of Waikiki to visit.
Megan H
Been coming here for years and am never disappointed! The food is excellent, great cocktails and an excellent wine menu. Not to mention the amazing ambiance!
Grant Chuggy Bear Shindo
One of the best new restaurants on Oahu. The food here is EXCELLENT. For lunch, there's a handful of great sandwiches and they're always switching up dishes to keep seasonal. So far my favorite is a smoked ono dish made into a BLT type sandwich. Always get the fries. The FRIES are delicious. For dinner, get the fried chicken. Hands down, the best thing I've eaten in 2016 so far.
K Moss
Delicious, inventive, Celiac friendly. The food is amazing and they are very accommodating for Celiac disease sufferers. Everything I've had has been great, but the standout that is unlike anything I've had other places is the summer ala fête, a fascinating combination of tastes and textures that is satisfying as a pasta dish and gluten free at the same time. The bar menu is also excellent with very good mixology. Worth a stop in downtown.
Brent Bomkamp
The carbonara is the best I’ve ever had despite living in NYC. Twice-fried chicken, chicken liver pate, potatoes, and burgers were all delicious as well.
Eric Chan
Decent place for cocktails and food. I did not partake in the food but it looked very good from what I saw. The ambiance is very cozy and romantic. It's not super loud which is nice for more mellow dinners.
Gina Musetti
Quinoa burger is the bomb! Hands down the best non meat burger on Oahu! Served with crispy fries that are super delicious! Beet salad to live for! Lamb with pasta that I don't remember the name of said to be scrumptious! Waiting for the French apple cake and an espresso! Can't wait to come again to try other delectables!
Ava Fedorov
The crispy quinoa cakes were simple and wonderful. A great reminder of how fantastic fusion cuisine can be when it is kept uncomplicated and ingredient-driven. The cakes were perfectly crisp and well-seasoned, topped with avocado and accompanied with a luscious, mildly smokey and spicy tomato sauce. Comfort food taken up a notch!
The octopus was phenomenal. A single, meaty tentacle came perched upon lightly dressed new potatoes, and was so tender that a butter knife glided through it. The flavor was exceptional, simply adorned, showcasing the fresh and savory flavor of the octopus itself. Without a question, the best octopus I've had in a Honolulu restaurant.
The cocktail list is nice a nod to the classics and the bartender executed them with expertise. We both had the boulevardier and the clean but boozy flavor set the tone for the night perfectly.
Ed Nishioka
Unique menu. Place has downtown charm.
John Tomoso
Food and service are great! I like how they change their menu periodically. It keeps the experience fresh. The dining area is small, though, so be prepared to wait a bit during the lunch rush.
Chris Hindy
Fete is consistently a crowd pleaser. The cocktail preparation is top rate and the menu is delicious, well balanced and always fresh. Worth a visit for lunch or dinner.
Cassandra Koszarek
The cocktails were inventive and delicious!
Stefan Kant
I really enjoy the carbonara here and the menu in general is wonderful. They used to have these fish croquettes that were delightful but the lunch menu seems to have contracted a bit.
Steve Chen
Great food and friendly staff! Had the fois gois dumplings, kalbi, and fried chicken, all delicious and would recommend. For dessert had the funky monkey which was awesome (bannana Hawaiian bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream.. *drool)
Christopher Wilson
My last great meal on the island of Oahu was at this amazing restaurant. I recommend that you really take a trip off the beaten path to sample this unique and original menu. The atmosphere, the menu, and the care are worth the trip.
Jake Turner
Great food, great service, and a hip, fun location. Fete is the perfect date spot when you want to take a break from Asian cuisine and seafood. It’s also great to get away from Waikiki and Kakaako.
Travis Yamashita
Flavor is out of this world! Awesome selection of Food and Beverage! Service is outstanding!!!
Hope Reynolds
We visited Chinatown, Oahu, and ate at Fete, located on 2nd North Hotel Street, Honolulu. The reason why we chose this particular restaurant is because they had sweet potato fries and some gluten free items.
We sat there and through the window, saw a bride / groom taking photos on their wedding outfits.
Highly recommend, the service was professional, the restaurant was packed and to our surprise, the people sitting to our right had parked their cars next to ours...
SP
It was a pleasant surprise! Food was excellent, service was very friendly, cocktails made just perfect! We are foody people and have been tried all new places in Oahu: this is a rare find!
Tamiko Delos Santos
Such crafted food, tastes are complex and wonderful. Just about the best old fashioned I've had. Service was thoughtful and attentive. Neighborhood place with style!
Sandy Stroud
Real carbonara, espresso with Lychee Rose sorbet, chaz burger with onion rings! wow, I have found a second home! So ono! Come experience your festive favorites.
“Tell them Sandy sent you!” We have arrived.
A L Perelini
The manager was able to accommodate a request for a vegan pasta dish. This is a scratch kitchen restaurant so everything is yes, made drom scratch. Which means I had fresh, in-house pasta paired with fresh local vegetables and a to-die-for simple sauce. Itvwas the best pasta dish I have had on island.
Paris Vapaille-Watson
Very good customer service. Food is excellent. Prices are moderate and there is a menu for lunch, snacks, dinner, cocktails and dessert. Chef's are amazing here. Good team of culinary staff.

Great place. Only had lunch, but absolutely the best sandwich I've had in years.
We'll be back for dinner soon. The evening menu looked fantastic!

Chuck & Robin have created an upbeat, high-enery restaurant with a terrific dinner menu and wine list. Try one of the Italian wines...wonderful selections. Not to be missed on your trip to Honolulu.

Got many small plates to share as a table. I was bummed that the foie gras gyoza was no longer on the menu. The deviled eggs with trout toe were done well and tasty. The vegetable pastry tart was not bad but no wow factor. The octopus came as one piece and the charred taste was a bit overwhelming at first but it was cooked very well and tasty. The lamb mantini was also not that special and the lamb was underwhelming. The cockles that came in a white wane sauce also had a charred/smoked taste that was a bit overwhelming. The cod croquettes were delicious.
Shinnosuke Ogata
Great food with enough volume, excellent service. Strongly recommend.

This may be the best restaurant in the city right now. We ate at Alan Wong's as well, but he's been successful for too long and is not pushing the boundaries like Fete is. The use of local ingredients was a highlight. Their version of Mai Tai was good, although that round I had to give to Alan Wong's. We started with the most succulent sauteed prawns and luscious foie gras gyoza. Our main was red snapper with roasted taro. For dessert we had the vacherin with passionfruit and the passionfruit bombolini (donut holes with chocolate). We even got a complimentary lychee sorbet. Service was great and we were really carried away by the flavors.

Hands down this is one of the best restaurants on the island of O'ahu. The Bacalao Fritters, Mexican Lasagne, and Linguettine Carbonara were delicious. The owners have truly created great tasting food/drinks in a unique, quiant ambiance. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the island.
Angel Cox
Absolutely loved the finely crafted cocktails. The ribeye special was amazing. Make it part of the menu!
Slade Neeley

Food is good as usual, drinks are always interesting. They've put in a couple of tables outside on Hotel Street for al fresco dining which is great as long as the street denizens cooperate!
J Martin
Intimate, quaint, and delicious. One of the best meals and experiences I’ve had on or off the island. 10/10 recommend!

My wife & I went for lunch during Restaurant Week 2018. The dishes were above-average quality but nothing to write home about and not worth their price. The service was a bit too slow, and the music was a bit too loud.
Justin Schuchat
Good food, good cocktails and good beer. Hard to find parking but you are better off walking or taking a ride share.

Great, unexpected combos of flavor. Service was a little forced, but then the place is a tight fit, high energy, and a little noisy. Try the sorbets.

Close to perfect for a date.
