I ordered the mushroom roll. It was very tasty. For my entrée I ordered the teriyaki steak. It came with soup and salad. Everything was amazing. Definitely will be back when we visit again.

We always have a fantastic time at Samurai sushi in Gulfport, Mississippi. They are the best in town. We always over ordering food there because we wanted to try everything. Specialty rolls are great, grilled octopus is yummy and believe me when I say it good it’s really good. The place is very small and nothing has changed for 16 years, but why change it if it’s not broken,right? Even we went there for lunch we would stay for 2 hours and having a great time. But they don’t do the Poke well there. If you want a great Poke , you have to go to the Samurai In DIberville, Mississippi. Thank you Samurai 🥰Gulfport, Mississippi!!!

I’m not sure why I haven’t eaten here in so long, I used to come while I’m high school and just for some reason forgot this restaurant was in Diberville. Needless to say we had a great experience, service was great. I tried the authentic ramen for the first time and it was great. Sushi rolls were good and plantings were clean and appeasing. Kids Habachi is more then enough for two little. Highly recommend.

Arrived and ordered a to go order that was prepared and ready to take out the door with 10-15 min. While waiting the hostess I had an extremely enjoyable conversation about intellectual and cultural aspects of current affairs. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Parking lot was clean and easily accessible.I give them five stars. Fresh & healthy food, clean environment, with a great staff. Will definitely eat there again.

I like this sushi restaurant. Different variety of sushi that you usually can't get anywhere else. Would recommend to stop by if you're in the area. Good prices great place for dates or couples not located in the best area but it is worth it. Server are usually very nice.

Food was phenomenal. The menu is huge, they have a variety of rolls and platters to offer. The fish in the sushi was fresh and didn't taste like it was sitting in the refrigerator all week. We got seated fast and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend if you want sushi.

I really enjoyed their food and I was impressed with their service. Our server was great but the one thing I was a little disappointed in was their lack of options when it came to selecting the beer that you would like to drink they were out of mostly everything that I originally asked for but they did have a beer that I enjoyed. I hope you don't experience the type of situation that I went through but it wasn't as bad as I'm making it out to be It just bothered me some.

It was a little bit of a wait, but we picked this up and were so pleasantly amazed with this food! The sushi rolls were beautiful, fresh, and yummy with great sauces. The teriyaki chicken, rice, and dumplings were perfect for the kiddos. The chicken was super moist! Everyone loved the egg drop soup. We should've got more for the kiddos! I can't remember what the Noodle dish was. We asked for it to be spicy and it was spot on! It was my favorite and it was the first dish gone. The fried rice was okay. Our batch was a little dry and bland. We added some of our own teriyaki sauce and it was perfect in the end. I would recommend asking for some teriyaki sauce in case your rice is a little dry, because it ended up being good! We are excited to go back!

We drive a semi and came to Gulfport to visit someone. Happened upon this place. We, loving sushi the way we do, we saw the reviews and decided to come in and grab so.e dinner. We were greeted by smiling faces and a welcome. The place outside has little curb appeal. Inside was clean smelled clean. As you walk in you see the area where they make the sushi. We were quickly greeted and the waitress was very patient. The menu however was a bit overwhelming.Their are alot of options. We choose the dumpling for an appetizer. Udon with shrimp and Japanese rice with shrimp. Spicy Yellow Tail Roll, Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon roll and Philadelphia Roll. The rolls were fresh and beautifully plated. The rice was served hot and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The Udon noodles were perfectly cooked and the shrimp was fresh. For dessert we got the Tiramisu. The portion was great for two. Plated beautifully. Full of flavor, delish. When we come back through Gulfport, we will not soon forget this place, and will return. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

So good!! So many rolls to choose from! This sushi is massive too. I wish I lived here to go again and try more rolls. The service was excellent. Very attentive wait staff. Also they had made seared tuna and avocado in a cajun sauce drooooool!! So yummy! Definitely reccomend.

A FANTASTIC restaurant with amazing food! Appetizer I had the Kimuchi Chicken, this tangy peppered thin sliced chicken served on a bed of fresh lettuce and carrots thins, simply DELICIOUS! Got the typical Ginger salad and soup before meal, salad had a generous amount of dressing, a huge slice of cucumber and tomato. Soup was Osumashi with noodles, I ate the entire bowl! Main course, I got the beef Udon noodles, also very yummy! Service was fantastic as well. Very friendly staff!

I visited another one of their locations years ago saying I would return. About 4 years later I did and it was wonderful. The rolls are huge and allow customization as wild as your heart can imagine. You won't need appetizers here, and if you do you'll need a to-go box.

Been here many years and never stopped because of how it looked from the outside. It just looks old and run down. But once you're inside you see how nice it is. Prices are pretty good, especially during happy hour, I think that was 230 to 5:00. Sushi was so freed. Rice was sticky and nice. Pot stickers were great a well. I didn't enjoy the teriyaki chicken much, seems rubbery. I will like to try this place again.

Had the dynamite roll and the Philadelphia roll. Did not quite fill me up so i ordered the baby octopus. It was deliciously sweet and hit the spot. The waitress was wonderful and was very helpful in making recommendations.

I've ordered sushi from this restaurant before, it was ok. (Oishi Japanese on Pass Rd in Biloxi is Much better and not expensive!) This restaurant is over priced for the quality of the food.

Samurai and Rock n Roll Sushi are my two favorite Japanese restaurants on the coast. Samurai has more options, but I prefer the music at Rock n Roll. Samurai restaurants in different locations may have a few slightly different sushi rolls and alcohol choices. Be aware that gluten-free options may not be completely gluten free.

Kristina, is always so friendly and makes sure I am well taken care of every time I come in for lunch, which is often. The food is excellent and served quickly. My favorite is their miso soup and blue crab salad. This is an excellent restaurant to frequent. Their lunch menu is great!

I am very sad I discovered this sushi restaurant towards the end of my stay out here in the Biloxi/Gulfport Area. We had an amazing server named Kristina and she gave us great recommendations and everyone at the table loved it. The seared tuna appetizer with the special wasabi sauce was the most delicious tuna I’ve had in my life. I also had the Classic Phoenix Volcano roll and it was one of the best fried sushi rolls I’ve had. I typically don’t get fried sushi but the description on the menu baited me in and it was worth it.

I enjoyed the food I ordered. The prices are very reasonable THAT WAS THE BEST PART. The only thing I didn't like was that I ordered 3 different types of sushi rolls and they smashed it all into one container so I couldn't tell which was which. Overall I will be revisiting I was satisfied 😌

This is my wife and I favorite lunch date spot. Prices are affordable and enough food to leave feeling full. Food is very good to us. Service is also good and its usually only about 15 min to get food. It's also nice to see them busy with full tables again!!

The food was outstanding and the service was quick and friendly. I only had time to stop in and order dinner to go but they took my order promptly and it was a pretty short wait to get my food. The two rolls that I had, the Spicy Tuna Naruto Roll and the Classic Phoenix Tail roll were both delicious. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and the flavor combinations were amazing. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, I enjoyed everything about the visit.

Amazing place! Good service and great food. My mom, my boyfriend, and I all love sushi and love eating here. My dad hates sushi but I'm glad he could find something to eat here (the tempura is amazing!). Edit: I will say, they do need to update their hours. They're not open on Sundays, but there's no indication that they would be closed (not even on the door). So, call ahead on the weekends if you're from out of town, like my family. Update: issue fixed! And quite quickly, I must say. They updated their hours. They are also quite short-staffed so that may be why they have to close Sundays.

Sushi rolls are outstanding! I have been eating here every time I come to town which isn't that often and the food and service never disappoints. I have heard the Chicken Katsu is delicious but I can't ever pull myself away from the rolls. A must try!

this was and as far as i know still the best Sushi on the Gulf Coast, on 10/18/2021. They have Uni and Natto (no one else does) I went for dinner and the shashimi sampler was of poor qulity with small potions. The waitres is always good, I mentioned this too her and she said she noticed also, and the regular chef was in the back and it was a new guy..... I will go again and will mention it as i order next time. If it happens again i wont be back

Been there 2x. 1st was wonderful and the food was delicious. The second time we left after being ignored for 20 minutes. The waiting area has 2 people waiting for to go orders and another couple ahead of us. We stood there for 20 minutes and not one person even acknowledged we were there. The man answering the phone stood 5 feet away and did not once even look at any of us. Finally flagged down a passing waitress and asked if she knew how long of a wait and she said she didn't know and pointed to the man that ignored us for 20 minutes and shrugged. This place is a hit and miss kind of restaurant that doesn't appear to care about its customers.

Nice selection of sushi/sashimi and specialty rolls. Generous sized pieces of fish. Miso soup is very good. Service was spot on, too. My wife is not a sushi fan so she had the seared scallops which, unfortunately, were seriously overcooked. Dry and chewy. Just be sure to ask for them lightly seared.

This is the best Japanese food I've had in a long time. I am from San Diego, and there are tons of Japanese restaurants there. I have eaten at some of the best in San Diego and Los Angeles. Samurai is my new favorite! The staff are very friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and so clean.

Absolutely love this place. My favorite sushi on the coast and go-to restaurant when i know i want a delicious meal, guaranteed. Their soups, interesting salads, rolls, bento boxes, desserts, drinks, everything is always delicious!!! Absolutely love the cucumber salad and red bean ice cream. Also they assured me they do not add MSG to any of their dishes. Service is always great and getting your food is always very fast, as well!

This has been my favorite restaurant since it opened. Until recently. There has been a sell out, the new owners just don't have it. Not how it was. I am sure I will still go from time to time, but not as often as before. UPDATE**** Samurai is my favorite Japanese restaurant again. The food is like it used to be. The new owners now recognize me and seat me at my favorite table with my favorite server. All is good with my happiness at Samurai. 😃💕

Despite our late arrival, the service was phenomenal! Nine of us came in and left with full bellies. The food is amazing! Chefs gave us a complementary platter (of which the name escapes me) comprised of Salmon and mango. It was the perfect blend of savory and sweet. Our bento boxes arrived all the same: a quality meal for our rag tag team. Meanwhile, our waitress, Kimberly, patiently accommodated our needs, despite a long shift, powering through plate, after to-go plate. :p Genuinely impressed with the place and would recommend going as a group again!

Something about the sushi was not right at all and this is a Japanese restaurant. Uhh and I've lived in Hawaii for 4 yrs so I know fresh sushi. It was like it may have been freezer burned or something. You guys need to do better please. I probably won't be coming back. The texture was something like rubber.

Was told they changed to new management. Used to be our go to place 5/5. This time the eel skin wasn't removed and the eel wasn't cooked. Seaweed salad was good. Basic rolls were good. Specialty rolls were smaller, not well prepared. Miso is the best on the coast.

I love the food. I'm stuck on The bento box with teriyaki shrimp and streak. Amazing!The servers that are currently working are very well trained in Japanese Cuisine. If they don't know an answer they are quickly able to get an answer about any of the food they serve. I always leave happy.

My FAVORITE sushi restaurant. They have options for people who are allergic to shellfish that are very tasty. If you like spice I recommend the wasabi shrimp, the screaming popper are good as well. Overall great service and take out has good service too.

i always rated a 5 . iv been eating here since they opened on a regular basis . the last two times i ordered the “rock n roll “ and apparantly they have down sized? it was no longer the size it has always been , they shrunk it ! 😭 didn’t even look the same . i tell every one about this place when they say let’s eat sushi and they want to try out this restaurant and that restaurant , i tell them they have to come here just because of the size of the rolls , not to mention. the hot towels ! please bring back the original size of the rock n rolls

Food was great but the waitress had a bad attitude and muttered to my gf that we “should have just ate the food and not said anything” when the roll came out wrong. We weren’t upset or rude about it at all and her attitude was uncalled for.

This is my go to sushi restaurant, amazing staff and even more amazing food. You definitely get what you pay for. I always recommend samuri to all my friends and family. Samuri definitely holds a special place in my heart.

First, this is easily one of the best egg drop soups on the coast. You just can't go without getting a bowl. The menu is large! Go off the beaten path of typical sushi restaurants and be rewarded. The Salmon Sushi Deluxe is a delicious nigiri value. The donburi are great. The teriyaki is delicious. The long list of special rolls takes years to conquer. ;-) My only complaint at the moment is the current wait staff is way too talkative/bubbly/awkward for my liking. This is just a personal preference, obviously, but the Gulfport Samurai use to be a nice quiet, dare I say "romantic", atmosphere. Now the wait staff wants to awkwardly chit chat with you, and they seem to lack the presence of mind to notice if you were already in a conversation with your dinner party. This is only a slight critique and does not ruin the experience for me, but it's worth noting, imo.

One of my go to restaurants for sushi on the coast. Most recently I got takeout from Samurai with Waitr, and it was just what I needed. I’ve been here numerous times over the years and it’s always consistently great sushi. They have a pretty big variety of rolls and sushi. My favorite is their Osumashi soup. I haven’t found a lot of Japanese restaurants that have it, even when traveling, and it’s so good. The service is always friendly, as well.

Excellent food, and great customer service by Nolan! I had bento box: teriyaki salmon, chicken katsu, and comes with 2 gyoza, 4 sushi rolls, miso soup, vegetable salad, and two slices of oranges. Obviously, I did not finish the meal so I had to request a “to-go box.” The food is on point, and similar to authentic Japanese restaurant in Japan. I have been to another Japanese restaurant in the area, but this is the best in Gulfport by far. It is highly recommended! I will definitely go back again.

Samurai is the best place on the Gulf Coast to get sushi. Their specialty rolls are enormous and well worth the prices. The Moonblossom appetizer is amazing, strawberries, kiwi, and asparagus over crab salad cake with more kiwi stuffed in the middle! The Marble Rockin' and Pink Lady are two exceptional rolls here, they're big enough to make a meal out of individually, eat both of them and you're going to leave full. The atmosphere is pretty normal for a sushi restaurant and has a sushi bar right in front of the Chef's. Samurai has been my staple Sushi bar since I moved to the Coast, and I don't see that changing any time soon.
