Fantastic experience- went for Sunday brunch and went back for dinner the next day. Wait staff was attentive but not disruptive, food was delicious and you must try the grits. I could go on and on but since we went back the next day- that should tell you it all. Its an experience you need to have. The live band was a great touch

Definitely worth it! This place is right across from the beach. It is elegant, yet you are welcome with beach attire. Very friendly and professional staff. I tried the gumbo, and it blew me away! Gumbo at an Italian restaurant? I know! But it was tasty! Our waitress was friendly and spot on with the service. The price was reasonable and the portions were healthy. This is definitely worth investigating!

Nice atmosphere, excellent Italian restaurant. Bread was a thick french bread with a green dipping/spread. The bread was fresh and the sauce was tasty. We had fried mozzarella triangles that were huge, they were well worth the appetizer price. Also had a spinach dip with natural chips. The spinach dip was very creamy, no bitterness at all. 3 entrees were spaghetti and huge meatballs, grilled seafood plate, chicken alfredo. It was a ton of food for 80.00 dollars. The coffee was nice an smooth also. Generally we had a very enjoyable dinner. The blonde waitress was super nice and attentive.

Excellent service, delicious food, reasonable prices and a really nice atmosphere. You can't beat the value. The portion sizes on the lunch menu are quite generous for only $9.99. When you walk into the restaurant, it has the look and feel of a very high-end establishment, but most of the patrons were dressed casually. I highly recommend this place.

The food was great. Dishes ordered: oyster appetizer, chicken Parmesan, Caesar salad with shrimp. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table for lunch on a Friday. There is nice landscaped areas outside with benches or a luxurious lobby for waiting. They have a $9.99 lunch special going on now with a huge variety of items. They serve free fresh bread with pesto and olive oil for dipping is on the table. The Caesar dressing tasted freshly made and was delicious. The chicken Parmesan usually is fried, but, was grilled and served with zoodles by request. Will definitely come back.

Authentic Italian restaurant! Fresh baked Focaccia Bread, Butter, Pesto, plus Olive Oil on all tables. Linen napkins. Fast friendly service! The best eggplant I've ever eaten! The Angel Hair Alfredo was superb! The lunch Specials we're $9.99! I'm so happy that I went here for lunch! I asked for a sample of the Marinara and it was like stepping into Italy! Next time I will have spaghet with their wonderful Marinara! The parking lot and restaurant were packed, but I got seated immediately! The kitchen activity is open to view, and you can watch the chefs at work preparing each dish. I highly recommend eating here if you are anywhere in the area. There is a great atmosphere! I had the Eggplant Gondola and Angel Hair Alfredo.

Chose Salute’ for a meeting - perfect on the patio. We had the eggplant fries and spinach/artichoke dip. Absolutely fabulous from the atmosphere to the food! One of my favorite restaurants!

What a great place! As soon as we started walking towards the entrance from the parking lot side of the building, I knew we were about to experience something completely different from the rest of greater Biloxy/Gulfport area. Upon entering the lobby, we heard live music coming from the dining area. A well curated and practiced series of guitar classics were played by a skilled professional, accompanied by singing. Great decision by the management, as the wait staff had definite pep in their step with plenty of smiles and good vibes. The food was delicious, which left me wanting more for desert, but I had to keep self restraint. In other words, it was time to go. Upon getting our check, the friendly waitress handed us a red sealed envelope with an enticing message printed in plain black font, seeking a repeat customer. Overall, we had a great experience and if only I knew about this place sooner, I have been there way more often.

Very nice place to eat. We had a large party of 13 friends. The resturant accommodated us with no hassle. Staff and servers were so nice. But what about food you say. Really good. Shrimp scampi was a hit. Flounder special was great. Can’t remember other dishes but everyone was happy. If you can satisfy 13 people you know it’s good.

Salute has excellent quality food with generous portions. All of the sauces are rich and flavorful. There was a very nice wine list, and a rather large dessert menu. The service was also perfect.

Dizzy, Sam (female), and Jared... thank y'all for an amazing dinner service. Jared shared his favorites... he ordered for me: Old Fashion, Pesto&bread, seared ahi tuna on a bed of salad with an amazing warm zucchini. The food is consistently excellent. The service outstanding!

This restaurant delivers above and beyond. I came in and had an issue with water leaking from an A/C unit. Not only was it resolved immediately, but the manager made sure that we were well taken care of through our dining experience. The food was so good that my wife and I are already planning a trip back to the beach to enjoy this hidden, laid-back gem. Yall have definitely given me a reason to smile through this hurricane season. When you go, try the firecracker shrimp and the calamari. They're both excellent choices! Edit: literally went back again already and the food the second time was great as well. Also the bathroom was very well kept to say that it was halfway through a dinner service. Whether you stop in Gulfport for a meal or are a local looking for a great place to put on a regular rotation, this is it!

Great resteraunt with an eclectic menu and great cocktails! The paneed cheese ravioli (fried) was amazing and the chicken alfredo was delicious as well. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not packed, so we didn't have any issues getting a table or having a long wait for our food/drinks. Will definitely return to try other items from the menu in the near future.

Ambience was inviting and chic, and staff was very friendly. Our server let us taste a few wines before deciding on a bottle, which was appreciated. She also brought bread with a delicious housemade pesto to dip. For an appetizer, the firecracker panko shrimp + pineapple sriracha was AMAZING. The menu is pretty large and creative, so it took some time to decide on entrées; he got the veal marsala while I had seafood manicotti (alfredo, crawfish, shrimp). Portion size was great, and there was a ton of shrimp on my pasta. Everything from service and environment to drinks and food was wonderful.

The best bloody marys! Went in for brunch, and as usual got amazing food. Ham and cheese omelet is filled with prosciutto- soooooo good! Gouda grits were the best I ever tasted. My husband got a 6 layer spice cake that was phenomenal. This place never disappoints!

Absolute must try! We ordered calamari with a marinara sauce. The 1/2 order is plenty for 4 people. $7. They bring bread with a pesto sauce. Excellent! There is olive oil on the table to dip the bread in as well. Yum! The surf and turf was delicious. The fried mahi mahi with shrimp basil sauce was delicious. The restaurant is very cool. Casual or dressy you will feel comfortable. Live music tonight. Sound level is good as you can have table conversation and hear the music in the background. They have 9.99 lunch menu! I definitely will be back. Fair prices. Large portions. Cool atmosphere. Great service!

Would've given 5 stars but I have been contemplating this meal for 7 years since my husband and i got married. I took away one star bc I bit into my ceaser salad and literally had to spit it back out onto the plate bc their was no napkins at our table. The salad taste like 3 day old fishing bait smells! 🤢🤢🤢 It was horrible. We figured it must have been sitting next to seafood and it soaked it in. Our waitress came back around and I told her how it tastes and she said "Yes bc we put anchovie juice in our house made ceaser dressing!" 🥴🤮 Like whyyyyy???? That's disgusting! My husband and I have never eaten anywhere that had done this. Anyway.. we ordered fried mozzarella with marinara it was really good!! And I ordered fried Lasagna and he ordered shrimp and grits. Both of our on trays was great. Next time although, I will ask for my lasagna to be on a separate plate rather than the top of a bed of watery marinara and loads of really good cheese to get soggy. I don't like that. Lol. All in all. They have a large menu. Good prices and a chill atmosphere on the beach. We'll be back again I'm sure.

Salute’s is amazing! We’re locals and sad to say this was our first visit but won’t be our last! Beautiful location with great gulf views. Awesome staff from the door to the table. Food was freshly prepared and hot! Kayla took care of us and she was outstanding. We had a great time - the experience is as important as the food! Unbelievable selection of lunch menu items, we’re going to have to try them all!

The takeout process was easy and straight forward. Pleasant professional courtesy from phone staff (usually the Greeter), was......OK. I've had Circle K (local southern gas stations) that smiled more. As I left the store, I "Salute-ed" everyone a goodnight, and no one said a word. There was an advertisement for Curbside, but I had to go inside to get my order, even though I paid over the phone. There were "0" spots, that I saw, advertised as "curbside". The Food: I ordered the Zoodles with the Shrimp on Marinara, and the crab cakes. The price was more than reasonable for the crab cakes at 18 bucks. They were super fresh, and the veggies were sauteed perfectly. Perfection stops there. The Aioli was ehhhh, off colored salty mayonnaise? Not really sure, but that's what it tasted like. Also, it came with a tasteless greenish sauce......spinach of some sort pureed and mayonnaise based? I have no idea. The Zoodles and shrimp.....? The backstory is I'm from Florida, and my stepdad was a fisherman and sold seafood. If you're gonna hang your hat on any seafood dish, it better be fresh and LOCAL (shout out to all the salty dogs that make the local fisheries possible). My pet peeve is petite (popcorn/small) shrimp, when the advertisement says different. If your advertised picture is 21/25 or larger size shrimp, then let your end product reflect the same. Those shrimp, to me, had a very "packaged in India" size and taste. IJS. The marinara was fresh and probably garnered the price tag all by itself. But here in Florida, shrimp means 🦐. Apparently in Mississippi, it means something else.

My first experience with Salute. My friend took me there for lunch yesterday for my birthday. Excellent experience! We were told it would be a 30 minute wait and it was half the time. The food is out of this world delicious! I had the Eggplant gondola. Oh my goodness it was so good! Look it up on the menu. Will definitely be going back.

Expect the unexpected at Salute. We didn't make reservations as we had an early dinner, however, it is recommended to make reservations as this place is a local favorite. We ordered the lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, house salads, and delicious chocolate cake. Everything was fresh and served hot. Great service and atmosphere. Huge menu selections for everyone. They have live music. Highly recommend.

The service was great, but the food left something to be desired. The Spinach artichoke dip was very thin and the pork was dry and over cooked. The rest of the food was okay, but nothing spectacular.

We made reservations for 21 people for 1-2-23 at 4:30, 3 days in advance. Called at 1pm the day of to advise it was only 19. Was told all was good. Arrived at 4:20 and was told we didn't have a reservation by the hostess, and not in a nice way. Said they called us several times to verify the reservation with no answer. We never got a call but WE CALLED THEM AT 1. They rushed to get tables together and she came to tell us we could go to our table at 4:30...."the time of our reservation " insinuating we didn't have one (this was 4:25). At 4:30 she came back with the same attitude saying since its 4:30, we can go to our table. The waiter was excellent and the food was good! Would've been a 5 star experience if it wasn't for the hostess' attitude towards our group. She was on duty at 4:30pm, Monday January 2, 2023. Don't know her name but wish I would've gotten it to forward to Mr Stinson. We almost left but our waiter saved the evening.

Restaurant is a little dated but it has a very large menu. Service was solid and food although not Exceptional was definitely Good. The overall cost of the meal was very typical so not overpriced for the entrees especially with the size of the portions. Each of the appetizers were pretty small based on price so an exact opposite issue. I would recommend

So disappointed, we normally enjoy Salute but last night was definitely not up to par. Our grilled crab cakes were raw in the center and our firecracker shrimp were too heavily breaded and fried too hard. The best part of our meal was the bread and our house salads. Hopefully this was just on off night.

You smell the deliciousness as soon as you walk in. The crab cake special was amazing. Even though our party of 6 walked in 45 minutes before closing, our waitress was welcoming and wonderful. Food is exceptional. I may be back for a Sunday brunch!

Even though we received main course before appetizer 🤔 the management took care of the mishap. Waiter must have been somewhat new. Not as attentive as other waitstaff employees I noticed working around us. Main course was good , little less than our expectations. My Alfredo dish was bland and my wife's dish way too spicy for her taste. Nothing horrible just not as good as we were expecting.

Great location, we were able to walk from our hotel. Got seated right away on a busy Saturday. The environment is fun and there was live music. Our waiter was pretty busy but was able to check on us. The food was ok, a couple of the dishes needed the noodles drained a little better and maybe some additional seasonings would be helpful. The manager did come check on us, which was nice. We also ordered a Pinot and we were unsure if we got the correct wine. Other than that it was a good experience and we would return for lunch or brunch in the future.

We went for Sunday Brunch and it was absolutely delicious! We had mimosas which were made very well. Got the salmon meal and the porch loin and crab cake meal off the brunch menu. Also had a nice treat after- the lava cake. Our service was spectacular. All the staff was great actually. We have been there before and always have had great service. The gentleman we had today was very on point. Jason is also awesome. Oh and there was live jazz singer there for brunch time and she was very good as well! Definitely recommend. Nice scenery too

Our server at lunch yesterday was exceptional. This was our first visit. We started off with a half order,, which was plenty, of calamari. It was light and airy although mostly breading. The pesto served with the bread was amazing. I had the special she suggested of smoked salmon and shrimp scampi over zoodles. I liked it except for the salmon seemed overly smoky-almost like an artificial smoke-that was overwhelming. Everyone else ordered of the lunch menu and thought the food was good, but not to rave about. We will visit again.

Salute offers an atmosphere for Date night out on the patio, Family gathering inside with casual or dressy attire and Trivia in the bar area. Our small group of four, ranging 17-74 were all very satisfied with the options and quality of our meals. Salute cheese pizza, shrimp and crawfish Alfredo, fried seafood plate and flounder with Mediterranean sauce and fresh sautéed veggies! All were amazing and portions were large enough that everyone took home enough for their lunch the next day. Staff are very friendly and the place was clean. We were there on a Monday and apparently they have trivia night in the bar. We are definitely going back for that and a date night out in the patio!

This is the 3rd time here and I'm still not been impressed. The restaurants immense lunch specials seemed unbelievable and the taste was mediocre. Not impressed at all, very bland or too spicy. Only a few heart healthy choices, the advertisement always makes a point of being a great alternative.

We called for reservations on Saturday and they wouldn't take a reservation for 5 because they were all booked so we asked if they had any reservations for 7:30 or 8 and the lady on the phone said it would still be an hour weight when the business closes at 9pm. When we went on Sunday we just walked in with a table of 5 and the hostess tried to sit us at a table for 4 and said we could put a chair at the end when there was two tables put together right next to that table and we asked to sit there and were permitted... service was poor. We had to ask for bread and the cups and silverware were dirty so we had to ask for more. I thought this place looked like a good Italian place but I was wrong. Go somewhere else.

Service was superb! Apps were out quick and flavorful. Bread at the table with fresh pesto was soooo good. We had the fried calamari, steak (in gravy) and garlic cheese bread. Dinner was chicken marsala, chicken alfredo, Mahi with crabcake (crabcake was best in my life-done perfectly) and spaghetti.

I have waited so long to go here. Our apps (eggplant fries and fried mozzarella $8 each) were excellent. The nice warm bread brought to the table with the creamy pesto was excellent. Onto the main courses. I ordered the seafood grilled special which was a crabcake, grilled and blackened shrimp and scallops ($24 and to me way overpriced for the portions). The shrimp were barely what I consider a medium sized shrimp. The scallops were the same as I run into all over the coast too undercooked for my taste. A little too translucent in the center. I mentioned it to the waiter who indicated he was sorry and walked away. He never said it but he was ordering a new order more well done, which actually came to me a little more brown on the outside but still very undercooked. Also these were supposed to be sea scallops but they were about 1/2 the size of the same scallops I buy and cook at home. The crab cake was good but it didn't make up for the cost of this dish. It came served with sliced zucchini and yellow squash with shredded carrot. Definitely did not add to this dish. My friend ordered the grilled flounder with Mediterranean sauce ($19). The flounder portion was very small and she felt it was just not very flavorful. I didn't try it so I can't attest to it. Also served with with the same vegetables as my dish. Our waiter apologized for my underwhelming scallops and asked me to give it another try. Unfortunately, I'm a little doubtful that it would end up any better but if I do come back I'm sticking with apps. I find the menu very overpriced for locals. It might be fine for our visitors but not for those that make the wages we do in this area.

I had the Eggplant Gondola w/shrimp &crawfish sauce and angel hair pasta alfredo, bread and pesto. It was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. They made you feel very welcomed.

Comfortable and clean surroundings, friendly and helpful staff and excellent menu choices that come out of the kitchen with lovely presentation and in servings sure to please. I had the blackened and grilled flounder with vegetables, the only AIP diet acceptable menu choice from the expansive lunch menu. It was just enough food, with nothing on the plate that didn’t meet my restrictions. I savored every delicious bite, and will definitely be back for more.

Wow!! The food was excellent. We were the few for lunch. Lunches are $9.99 with a large selection available. Lunch is a available Mknday thru Saturday. The servings are large. We had the best spinach dip!! Great place. Will definitely return.

BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.... I'm a life long resident of the gulf coast and this was my first time in the restaurant. (FAMILY OBLIGATION) always viewed it as a stuffy place that I probably wouldn't enjoy. Well when the waitress comes over and says HAY Y'ALL WE HAVE .......... in a voice that we could have clearly heard if we were standing on the beach!!! I knew I had misjudged the establishment. Service was good, food was excellent. Pleasantly Suprised.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very cozy. We sat outside, it was cloudy and not too hot. The firecracker shrimp tacos were very flavorful and mild, nowhere near as spicy as I expected. The spaghetti with meatballs was a very classic dish as I would have expected it to taste. We were very happy with this dining experience. Our waiter was extremely nice and helpful!

The place was packed. Bartender was very busy but still on point. Had the lunch spaghetti bolognes, it came quickly and was hot. However they served it with thin spaghetti noodles instead of regular. It was tasty. Nothing spectacular, but good.

Stopped in for Dinner and ordered the blackened Flounder with a side of Alfredo pasta and a side Cesar salad I had really high hopes as I love flounder and have eaten it many times but I was disappointed.. first off I would like to say the waitress was exceptional but other than that the food was subpar definitely not worth the price my family paid to eat!! the flounder tasted really strong very slimy in texture the salad was decent and pasta was ok but other than thatvi was really disappointed

Amazing!! everything from the moment it came in view from 90. Beautiful, pleasant, delicious ,cheerful, over the top accommodating an experienced it all again the next day reheating the take home leftovers it was just as good as who was there if not better I suggest everyone try it you will return

Well it was good but I did get turn off with a roach crawling on the wall. It ran in the back of a picture. We did tell someone and before they got to us it was back out again. I did take care of it. But I really don't think I will be going back.

We went into the restaurant last week for an early supper. It was a very nice place. My only issue was that the booth we were in where the glass was had several stains of food that had splattered there. The waitress nwas very nice and we had a appetizer that then followed our supper in which we enjoyed. It was a good experience except for the cleanliness of the booth where we sat.

( Am in Wa) The best thing about this place is their humanity and how they treat the folks who work there. I'm a Xmas baby,and we went to have Christmas Eve dinner. They were closing up at 3 so all could be with their families.) Will probably never be back but Awesome. Hi y'all 👋 (I'm very behind in reviewing, oops! After our relocation vacation from Eugene Oregon and move to Mississippi am slowly getting the 30 reviews on Google done!) We loved Salute! Very nice 👌👍 attentive staff, excellent food and I'm from Brooklyn NY,so I Know what's Great or not!!! The eggplant Parmesan was heaven as was the 🍕 our grandson had (he said lots of stars on my review!) Seeing is believing,so enjoy my pictures. We will be regulars! Oh by the way, prices are low for all you get... Awesome decorating, comfortable place to dine! Don't miss it!

Salute always has great food. I thoroughly enjoyed the paneed ravioli and pork fettuccine alfredo. For desert I got tiramisu which was exquisite. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our 2 year anniversary here.

Nice relaxing atmosphere. Staff was friendly & laid back. We were tired from a day at the beach & didn't feel rushed. Nice wine selection. Our waitress Emily was knowledgeable of the menu items. We started with fried raviolis, I didn't get a pic because my son tore into them as soon as they hit the table! Complimentary bread is served with a creamy basil pesto on the side. Shrimp & grits was on my checklist for vacation & they offer it! The dish was a little different than I've had in the past but was good. As you can see in the picture the grits are made into cakes, this was new for me. Lots of flavor, very rich & filling. My son's pasta dish was full of shrimp, crab & andoulle sausage. Very flavorful as well. All in all good experience. Thanks Salute!

This was second time dining at Salute. Wonderful. Our server Brice was attentive without being bothersome. Helpful and intuitive. We had the grilled crab cakes and gumbo for appetizers. Hickory smoked salmon with aioli, and a shrimp Mediterranean salad. Glass of wine and soft drink. Ample portions.

Very good meal with amazing service. Had a party of 8 and even though the restaurant was busy the waiter was very invested in every table and provided everything needed with some comic relief on top. Food was plated very well and though smaller portions it was the perfect size and very rich and packed. We wanted to get desert but buy the time we made it that far we were stuffed. Only in town for a few weeks and did some research before going. VERY worth the drive and wait from the base area.

I can’t believe how delicious everything was! The environment was awesome, the live singer sounded great and the service was on point!! I had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and the gumbo for my soup. Usually I nibble on my appetizers so that I save room for my meal 😩 but everything was so good I cleaned my plate! For my main meal I had the crab cake Benedict which came with grits and bacon. I could only eat about a third of my meal before I got full but it was soooo good that I tried to finish it all! Lol definitely gonna have to come back!!! Highly recommend!!

We asked for an upcharged side instead of a regular side and she demanded that we still have to choose a regular side. My family and I went on Labor Day for my grandma’s 82th birthday. And let me tell you it was dinner (lunch) with a show because this woman across from us was making an absolute scene. Waving her arms and rudely calling for our waitress Samatha, who handled her very professionally might I add, while she was helping our party. I don’t know if it was the wine she was drinking or forgotten medications but she was so loud, rude, and entitled! Called an ambulance after the manager came to fix the situation but it did not please this nut job so she had to make an even bigger scene! Even the ambulance people made a remark on her abnormal behavior. I feel bad for the wheelchair bound woman she was with, forcing her to leave even though she wanted to stay and eat! The owner even came from his house just to apologize to us and surrounding tables, even though it was not his fault that there’s just wackos out there. Such a kind staff, both him, Samatha, and Sky. You can tell the owner genuinely cares for his employees and customers. Thank you for treating us to such a lovely lunch celebration! Had to give the real perspective cause I overheard Crazy saying she was going to slander them with bad reviews even though she sure enjoyed that glass of wine and the whole staff did try to make the situation better.

OMG... How do I begin? Our server Devon was very personable and answered all our questions with knowledge of the menu items and had some great suggestions. We didn't order an appetizer and we were not disappointed because the bread with a delicious pesto and the ceasar salad was quite the treat. We then were served our main course which was over the top with flavors. The pesto, marinara, cream sauce and Bolognese sauce were incredible. Looking forward to going to Sunday brunch tomorrow.

I cannot describe how much fun we had here the weekend before Mardi Gras. We had vacationed from Minnesota to NOLA and our plane was delayed and we had to travel to Gulfport to catch another. A friend recommended to see the beach while we wait for repairs on that plane. Why not? Salute has a BEAUTIFUL view of the coastline with the most gorgeous sunset. We sat at the bar for some cocktails and were greeted by Reed, a wonderful guy! We must've looked out of place, because before long some locals, including the owner of the restaurant, sent some drinks our way. Before we knew it, we were enjoying Gulfport more than our entire NOLA trip. We walked over to the beach and enjoyed the clean white sand. The drinks were appropriately priced, and the food was divine. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Not only did we have a blast, but it changed the way we think about Mississippi. Much love to these guys and we cannot wait to visit again!

Our table of 4 enjoyed our cocktails and the dual waitstaff were great. However, the food just wasn't anything special. The beef tip dish was very tuff, the crab cake served on top of the flounder was excellent, the flounder and pasta was not. I am not a fan of chunky tomatoes in any pasta sauce. It makes for a watery sauce with less flavor. The 3 stars were for service, drinks, cost/portions, and waitstaff. For two of us, this was not our first visit, but believe it will be our last.

No wait for us on a Friday night at 6pm for a party 5. Restaurant was clean, gives you an upscale feeling with a casual vibe. Menu is impressively vast. Value is great for the quality, Tour of Salute, pizza, shrimp, were excellent. The fried mozzarella appetizer were my kids favorite app in a long time. Only negative was my daughter steak was over cooked. For 31.00 the steak at least should have been the right temp. Would have been 5 stars if not for that. But if you want Italian and seafood this is the place.

In town for a DAV/DAVA conference and a group of us ate at the restaurant on Thursday evening. The restaurant itself was beautiful. The waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The food was marvelous. I heard no complaints from anyone at our table other than they were stuffed! I had fried green tomatoes with a shrimp and crawfish cream sauce that was divine. Then I had Italian fried eggplant with the same creamy sauce....it was seasoned just right but they gave me so much food that I couldn't eat even half of it. Salute is a wonderful restaurant to go to when you want to enjoy some time with friends or family. The food is particularly consistent and the drinks are always made well. However, I noticed that the restaurant was packed like a can of sardines. Regardless of getting used to not having to situate yourself 6 feet from someone, this place was hard to walk around in. The live band was at the front of the building in the middle of the walkway and it is definitely not a quaint date kind of environment. It used to be. The menu is huge! Which is not always a good thing, because to much goes into production of the dish rather than perfecting it. Not to say it wasn't a great meal, but the in house chef doesn't really mix it up from the couple of times I've been there over the last three years. With salutes you get what you get. I would say it's not that bad! But also, i don't believe the hype to be particularly accurate. I hope that the establishment sees more of their potential especially with a chef who is well known in our community.

Sorry, I didn’t take a photo! We got there a little after noon and we were welcomed in and were seated promptly. We always read the menu, but we always ask what the special of the day is. Pleasantly surprised that they have legs and rings calamari. That's rare for me to find down here and was very excited to order. A full appetizer is a meal in itself. A very large bowl. It was absolutely delicious. They also gave me 10% off my bill for military (be sure to tip your servers that 10% plus your normal tip. They deserve it!). I only deducted one star because of the lunch seafood manicotti. My noodles were slightly overcooked and overfilled. The cream sauce, while very tasty, was too heavy. I know people like their food drowned in sauce but I wish I knew ahead of time to ask for them to go easy/light.

Lots done well, some needs work. On the Salute Tour dish, chicken was burned. We sat at the bar and one lady (Rachel?) had a poor attitude and made us feel unwelcome. Other lady bartender was sweet but forgetful.

We ordered takeout from here tonight. They said 20 minutes & it was ready in 20 minutes! I had the Fettuccine with Crab Sauce & a Lump Crab Cake. It was excellent. My wife had the Grilled Seafood Plate, with Grilled Veggies & she thought it too was excellent. As a guest of the Courtyard by Marriott, with the room key, we got a half order of Cheese Ravioli, with a Cream Marinara Sauce, that was really good. The food came with Warm Bread & I believe Basil Butter or some kind of Basil sauce for my wife’s dinner? We’re not sure, but it had a good flavor. The Bread was okay, but not a lot flavor, without the Basil Butter or the Creamy Marinara Sauce. Overall, everything was excellent. They show a very interesting Sunday Brunch Menu, which we will try, if we don’t find something that looks even better by then. ————- We went back to the Gulf Coast just before Thanksgiving & ordered from here again. The menu was different, based on the season & it was just as good as before! It was ready when promised & couldn’t have been better! I had Crab Cakes on a bed of rice & my wife had the Shrimp & Grits. It was not prepared like traditional Shrimp & Grits, but it might even have been better! It had sausage, which my wife doesn’t eat, so I ate it & it was really good!! We still highly recommend this place & will go back the next time we got to Gulf Port or Biloxi!!

Excellent food and service. We (in our office) ordered lunches for pick up. The order was ready as promised, the server was very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mediterranean Shrimp Salad. We got there early. It was a little startup confusion. Finally settled in. Had to replace my silverware due to food on it. Wife ordered the zuchinni noodles and received regular pasta. It was an interesting start. Food was OK, but a little salty. We will go back to try other offerings as I think the whole night started off rushed.

Very clean and friendly environment! The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because 1. the men's bathroom doesn't have a changing table and 2. the tip was already added to the check. I know I can tip more than what's on the ticket. However, it's slightly annoying. The first time we went we were double charged... So just a few fixable issues. Now the food, the food is really good. The cheese sticks are 100% my favorite and the #1 appetizer!! You have to try if you do go!

Food was always good that I have had from here but not worth this wait at all. I could have travelled to Aromas in Diamondhead and ordered a full course meal eaten and been home by now and food is as good or better. Sorry but that's how I see it. They either need more help or something here.

Everything tasted good but wasn't hot. Servings were small for the steep prices. I got a meal that contained 1 crab cake, 1 skewer of 5 shrimp, and one skewer of 5 tiny bay scallops. It came with one side; I got grilled squash. It was $24. Nothing was really hot. Just lukewarm. IT HELPS waitress was constantly forgetting things. We had to remind her several times what we ordered. Food and drinks came out randomly. My glass of wine came out during my meal. She never wrote anything down so I'm not sure what was happening. I had high expectations.

Glad we made a reservation for early in the evening as the restaurant got full and very loud very quickly...was difficult to even hear the evenings entertainer. Was disappointed to find they were out of BOTH classic Italian wines by 6 p.m on a Friday night after only 1 glass served...and our server never brought me my requested ice tea so we cashed out and left...gave our seats to the MANY folks waiting. Added the pesto from the bread and parmesan they brought to the table to my pasta to give it more flavor and took it home. Unfortunately quite disappointing...

The smoked salmon is my favorite, but they charge around $16 for a 4oz piece of salmon on a salad.. Their Alfredo sauce is lacking in flavor, and the booths could use a good cleaning, but overall still a great restaurant.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting the aquarium and it was a great surprise. I’ll start by adding we’re a gluten free family and their cauliflower crust pizza was one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a long time. My daughter ordered the special of the day which had shrimp and salmon over zucchini noddles instead of regular noodles. Our food was delicious and our server was very attentive and super nice! She even brought a gluten free chocolate cake for my daughter since it was her birthday! We just moved to the area two weeks ago and can’t wait to go back to this restaurant! Super delicious! Thank you for offering so many gluten free options.

The place could use a complete update, remodel or some type of change to the decor. But at least keep it clean

We were in and out in less than an hour. Food was OK to me...Alfredo sauce was bland..didnt have that parmesan taste I'm used to. Crab cakes were the best..very meaty, full of crab flavor, not bread fillers. Husband said scallops were not what he expected. They were supposed to be blackened..they looked barely cooked. All in all..meal was so-so...waiter was excellent.

I like Salute, but the food is just ok. I enjoy sitting outside, across from the Gulf, and the service is always good. Some of the menu items are quite tasty, but many are very bland. The pesto served with the bread is one, very bland, watered down tasting actually. I cannot recommend the marsala. It is literally the worst I have ever had-flavorless with not even a hint of Marsala wine flavor. I guess your experience depends on what food you order, and I wish they would work on several of their dishes. Just my opinion, and still recommend overall for location and service.

Our second visit to salute since moving here last year. First visit was OK, bit a little disappointing. This visit made up for it!!! Our server, Robin, was great! He was fun and fully knowledgeable of the menu. He even correctly interpreted my wife's appetizer request, which she had difficulty describing! We had the Eggplant, Mozzarella and tomato, as well as Fried Calamari as our appetizers. There was MORE than enough food for the four of us! Two in our party had the Tomato Basil soup, which was a creamy soup with pieces of tomato and Basil, accented with a touch of cheese. I had the house Gumbo, which was well seasoned and full of shrimp, but had a twist of having more of a tomato base than the other gumbos I have had. It was a pleasant surprise! Our entrees were also very good. I had the tour of Salute which consisted of the house lasagne, Chicken Parm, and ravioli with a shrimp and crawfish Alfredo sauce. Others in the party had the Veal Salute and Chicken Marsala. The meals were cooked perfectly. The veal dishes especially were cooked so the veal was tender, but crispy. My only negative on the dinners was the Alfredo sauce used, which to me was a little thinner and less cheesy than I am accustomed to. But that did not detract from the overall enjoyment we all had from the meals. The entire staff was upbeat, cordial and caring during our visit. It made for a delightful meal and evening!!!

this place caters to legal, banking, corporate hotel/funeral home and other professional clientele in the area--the menu & prices are commensurate with their expectations. no matter when you come here, the food is great. not just on the weekends and not just during regular specials (lunch 11-3 or dinner 5-9, for example). there isn't another place like this for miles and if you make the trip (bacchus in the pass as an example) you'll find their food isn't as good as what you get here. compare the sauce for fried green tomatoes as proof. the wait staff is better, the manager is on hand every day here and regularly checks how customers feel about their experience. the bar at bacchus may be better stocked, but salute has so far had what we've asked for & im positive they would keep stocked whatever you're having if you're a regular. five stars every trip!

This place is amazing. One of the best happy hours around, an excellent view from the bar of the MS Sound and best yet, the people. Jason, Rachel and Reed are awesome and one of the owners Rob spends a lot of time here, a very successful chef so the food is always top notch. Their spicy marinara sauce is amazing. Food was excellent! Service was not so good. Waiter seemed like he was too busy to even stop and listen to us even though the restaurant was not very busy. It was 1:30pm on saturday. He only talked to us as he was literally walking by the table. At the end of our meal we ordered 2 coffees. Coffee was not hot at all. Sent the coffee back. Server was excellent, food came quickly. Nice garden and beach view. Covid safety measures are being observed. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was cooked perfectly, small pieces but good. Marinara was a bit on the chunky side for the calamari but again it tasted good. They gave us some warm bread with pesto sauce for dipping. It was very satisfying and tasty. Salad was fresh and tasted okay too. We also ordered the Crabmeat Alfredo fettuccine which comes wirh a Crab cake on top. Alfredo sauce was watery and didn't have enough parmesan cheese to thicken or flavor the sauce and we were never offered any fresh parmesan to add to it. The crab cake was seasoned well but too much breading for my taste. Being from a large Italian family, overall I found it to be so so.

Always a great choice. First time to rate, but been multiple times including lunches, dinners, and even a couple of group meetings. I can't say I've ever had a bad meal or bad service. The prices are reasonable for the quality & type of place this is and typically less expensive than what you'll pay at similar style restaurants (i.e. Casinos)

We love this place! It has something for everyone, but especially vegetarians. They have sooo many wonderful options for those of us that don't choose to eat meat. The impossible burger is delicious! If you are a vegetarian, then you have probably read about the Impossible Burger and it is simply divine. The service has always been very good as well and the servers will walk you through the menu and whatever specials are currently being served.

It takes a lot for me to give a place 5 stars. But the food was probably the best I have ever tasted in a Italian resturant, the atmosphere was unique & fun, and the price was not even bad. The staff was very accommodating and we enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. You get the quality of Italy with the price of Olive Garden. We will definitely be back.

This place had some of the most amazing food I've ever eaten on the Gulf Coast. The "House Specialty" pasta dish was absolutely wonderful along with the hot bread. Not only do they have pasta dishes, they have a variety of seafood selections as well. A wonderful 5 page menu will surely make you want to try everything. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. 10/10 would recommend everyone to try the resturant.

This may be the best Italian restaurant in coastal Mississippi. Check out Google Maps or Yelp to get an idea about what they offer. The server was friendly and professional. We will certainly return. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. They play music, and when we went they had a live singer. My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza, I ordered the crab meat Alfredo dish. Both were STUNNING! His pizza was huge, enough for the hungriest of men. My plate was piled high, with a generous helping of the most amazing Alfredo sauce I’ve ever tasted in my life. Highly recommend making a visit!!

Not only is the food delicious, but it’s beautifully displayed. Never had a bad experience here, and I’ve eaten here over ten times. Service and atmosphere are always great. They have some really good, different house specialty drinks. And don’t forget to try out one of their homemade desserts.

Out of 55 reviews, 45 were four or five stars and I read all 55. All I can say is I totally agree with those writing the 4/5 star reviews so I'm not going to repeat them here and those that wrote the one to three stars must have had a bad hair day with perhaps one exception. Where possible, I tried to look at some of their other reviews and the one exception always writes exceptional reviews. All I can say is he should give them another chance. With over 75% writing positive reviews you know this restaurant has something going for themselves. So - I'm going to say you can hardly go wrong eating there, we loved it and it's surely worth taking a shot with the 75%. As for the 25%, well, you can't win them all. (I wonder how many work for the competition?) I will say they need to clean up their entrance - you come in looking at the wrong side of the bar and that is really, really tacky. My initial impression was, Oh - Oh, we're in trouble. As it turned out, the food and service more than made up for the not-so-pretty entrance but it wasn't a very good beginning.

Really nice staff. The salad was great but the chicken was meh. Same w the veggies and sauce they made for the rice. They also allow smoking tables near the entrance which allows the front area to smell like smoke. That itself is a deal breaker.

The Italian mojito was awesome, the spinach dip appetizer was delicious. Our only complaint we ordered rare steak and received medium well and well done. The manager took the steak off our bill, but it would have been great if the cook had just cooked them correctly. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. His recommendation were spot on. One of our favorites on the coast. We dine here quite often and have always found the food and service superb. Between the bar on one side and the open kitchen on the other, a bit noisy, so it's not a great setting for an intimate dining experience. The Sunday brunch seems quieter.

The pizza is delicious, fresh, and satisfying. It is customizable of course with a small fee for each added item. That is considering I like to add or subtract items based of preference. Their pasta is rich in flavor, delightfully seasoned, and cooked well. They are timely and friendly. Only complaint is do not order the water. I know it is by the ocean but that is what the ice water tasted like. Almost like they put baking soda In it to balance ph, but it left me thirsty and highly irritated. Will still recommend their food, but figure out that water thing because I’m not a big soda drinker.

Relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of lighting to see and enjoy the best Italian restaurant on the coast. Drinks are delicious. Wait staff was very good. Great to see the owner, Rob Stinson, come by the table and have a very pleasant conversation with us. The quality and taste of the food compared to the prices is definitely a win for the patrons. Overall, the best dinning experience in Gulfport.

Waited over an hour and a half with my 80 year old grandmother because there systems went down so they couldn’t seat anyone..... there was no one in front of us. Then our food came out cold with a hair in it. I’ve heard great things but will never be going back. They comp’d is our meal and apologized which was great, the owner is incredibly pleasant to talk to, just was a horrible first, and last, experience.

Had gone back after over a year since they restarted addressing those with celiac. The meal and service was excellent for all four of us. They still don't have gluten free bread to dip in the pesto. We returned several weeks later for my birthday dinner all I can say is it was a disaster. They had a large party that had monopolized their entire kitchen and staff. My husband oyster appetizer took 45 minutes and were on the cool side the waitress stated it would be taken off the bill due to the delay. Needless to say it wasn't. The rest of our dinner basically went down from there, but my husband did enjoy his veal parmigiana. Yes, we will try again but not sure when.

First they bring you Italian bread with pesto which actually tastes wonderful. There is olive oil on the table so you can dip your bread in that if you prefer. I ordered the smoked salmon aioli and it was melt in your mouth delicious. It came with a generous portion of mixed vegetables that were cooked just right. We were close to the bar so it was a little noisy but not unbearable. We will be back soon.

Great service! Usually great food, however today I was disappointed in the Zoodles with Beef Tenderloin. It says lemon but every bite tasted like I was eating a lemon! The beef was super tender but overpowered by way too much lemon! Awesome! I called for reservations for 8 on a Saturday night. The hostess advised me that it was a local prom that evening. She was able to make our reservation to my accommodations. The table was set and waiting for us when we arrived. Wait staff was prompt and attentive. Food and drinks flowed in perfect timing. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Great experience

Excellent service, very relaxing atmosphere, and the food was outstanding. The owner even interacted with us and other patrons. I had the eggplant parmesan with a shrimp Alfredo sauce and my fiance had the grilled chicken with penne pasta and signature Alfredo. Will definitely be returning very soon.

We went here for dinner a few nights ago. Had a less than perfect experience. Service was not as good as it usually is. Entrees took a long time to arrive and were cold. First bad experience we've had here in many years. Manager handled our complaint expertly, though. Thanked us for the feedback, and did it cheerfully. This is certainty one of the best run restaurants in Gulfport and I will continue to patronize it.

Make it 4 1/2 stars! This is really an Italian and a seafood restaurant. Delicious. The only exception is a slightly above average gumbo. The grilled flounder topped with shrimp, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes is great and so is the chicken marsala. Nice wine selection plus excellent service. Portions were big, so we are planning a return trip to try the bananas foster bread pudding and the tiramisu!
